The daisy bouquet
Description: Daryl picks flowers for reader while he is out one day. Spoilers for season 9. No warnings!
Tumblr media
Daryl was never one to look at flowers. Not until the end of the world anyway. He had never really realized how many there actually were. He remembered his mom liked roses though. Maybe that was why he avoided them. He could only remember his mom by the smell of roses and harsh words.
"Hey Daryl when are we going to go out west?" She asks, her blue and grey eyes trailing over him from where she stood at the edge of the creek.
De squints up at her through sunlight and dirty brown hair.
"One day, jus'..." He trails off. He knows she wasn't trying to bring it up but every time he thinks he can leave he is reminded of Rick. All he wants is to find a body at least. So he knows.
"I know..." She trails off before stumbling over a clump of mud, still following him closely. "Hey... We'll find him".
He grunts. She can't promise that. He can't even promise himself that. It pisses him off. How did he manage to get into a fight with is best friend on the same day he had to lose him. It wasn't fair.
"Hey, there's a patch of daisies over there, I'm going to try to get some for Michonne" She stammers, stumbling over a few rocks in the shallow water as she crosses.
Daryl watches as she spreads her arms out to balance in the shallow rush of water as it loosens her footing. They were just flowers, but maybe it was a nice thing to do. He never understood the gift after someone had lost a loved one. Flowers would just die in a few days. Still, he learned something new everyday... and they weren't too bad looking. Maybe his favorite flowers were daisies.
He furrows his brows at himself. She's turning him soft.
"Get em then... let's go back" He grunts and turns to climb back up the little bank.
~
A few days had passed and neither of them had found a single thing that left any idea where Rick had gone. Daryl would never tell anyone but his chest seemed to ache more every day that he was reminded of him. He would never admit it, but somewhere deep down he loved Rick like he couldn't ever love Merle.
Sunlight blinds Daryl as he pushes through the low hanging branches. He's out alone today. It's better that way sometimes, he can focus on his own thoughts without having to be present in a conversation with Aaron or Carol that he knew meant more to them than himself.
It was different when she came out though. He didn't mind listening to her ramble about poetry or flowers or childhood stories.
~
A few hours later Daryl finds that he's made a giant circle.
"Dammit" He scolds, once again being stuck in his stupid thoughts had given him grief.
He looks around and realized he's back where she had picked those daisies the other day. Funny how things work.
Daryl looks around before crossing the creek to the little patch of daisies. They are still here, a little damaged from the rain they had gotten yesterday evening, but they would do.
He picks a few, enough to make a bouquet anyways, and carefully takes them back to the other side where he follows the trail back to the main road. Just a few hundred feet his bike would be waiting for him, hidden carefully underneath some brush and bramble. Hopefully he had a string or something on it.
Nearing his bike, he carefully places the daisies down on the gravel road just out of the grass. All thoughts he had before are now gone. Funny how simple flowers can clear an overthinking mind faster than anything else seemed to work. Though he's pretty sure it's why he got the flowers that he's suddenly a one track mind.
Looking through his mini tool box he keeps tied to the center of his bike with a few small ropes, he digs around until he finds a bit of fishing twine. Carefully, he goes to pick the daisies up and he ties it around their stems.
There. Now they wouldn't blow away.
Daryl tucks them into his pocket before driving back towards home. It's only on the way home that he realizes how soft and sensitive he must have looked while being so damn protective over some flowers.
~
"Welcome back, pookie!"
Daryl shoots a glare up at Carol who's grinning ear to ear, a 22 hugged tightly in her arms. Better not shoot a snide comment back.
"Hi" He grumbles, his hand touching one of the daisies in his pocket.
He's about to continue walking when it hits him that these are probably wilting. He should find her quickly.
"Hey, have ya seen y/n?"
Carol smiles to herself.
"Yeah, she should be on her front porch reading like usual" Carol says.
"Thanks"
"Good luck" Carol chuckles and he groans.
Daryl walks towards her house. His stomach feels shitty and his throat feels like he's gotten stung by a bee and he's allergic or something.
"Daryl! Hey!"
Of course she's already spotted him. Leave it to her to call out his name the very second she lays eyes on him. She never failed to make him wonder how long she had seen him before he'd spotted her.
"Hey" he give a little wave.
"I thought I was gonna go out with ya today" She says and he now sees the hurt on her face.
Shit.
"Yeah, uhm, I needed some time to think" He says, walking up onto the porch.
She sets her book down and looks at him. He can feel her studying his face.
"Uh, I got ya these" Daryl mumbles, pulling the little bouquet of limp daises from his pocket.
Her eyes flicker down and then back to him as she takes them from his outstretched hand.
"Awww! Dare, I love em..."
"They aren't that pretty anymore"
"Nonsense, ill just put them in water. Gimme a second"
And with that, she shoots him a soft smile before running into the house.
Daryl shuffles in his position awkwardly. Was it a good thing to do? You didn't just give someone flowers when they lost someone right? He hated that he was so damn bad with these things.
"There! They will perk up nicely. I added some sugar into the water" She says, plopping herself back down onto the porch swing.
He doesn't know what to say or where to go with this thing now so he stays quiet.
"Carol and I were going to make a nice dinner for a few friends. Aaron and Tara so far. You wanna help? I can always start early, she would understand"
"Yeah, sure" he hums, eyes still locked on her hands as they rest in her lap.
They'd be nice to hold.
"Alright. But you're making the sweet tea. Last time you did I about cried it tasted just like what I used to drink on hot summer days when my mom made it" She chuckles.
His heart flutters and he feels all warm and fuzzy again. This damn girl would surly be the only reason he ever felt happy and he was more than okay with that.

Fool’s Rush In -- Chapter 16
Tumblr media
Book: The Royal Romance
Pairing: Liam x MC
Warning: Some language, mild sexual talk
Since it’s been awhile since I last posted an update, in the previous chapter Madeleine had confronted Riley with a video after she left the ball.
Thank you @burnsoslow for the preread and beta.
-------------
Riley sat on a leather bench at the foot of the bed with a television remote held loosely between her hands, folded in her lap.
Somehow her worn-out body managed to walk from the corridor after the encounter with Madeleine, up the many stairs of the quarters she shared with Liam and to their bedroom. The shock of the situation combined with exhaustion and throbbing pain in her lower back was secondary to the fear she felt at possibly giving up the man she loved.
With trembling hands, she had slipped the DVD into the player and watched her nightmare play out on the screen -- It was all true. Madeleine acquired an illicit video of Riley and her ex-husband that the Queen had no clue was recorded of her or existed.
Her thumb grazed over the pause button several times, but she knew pressing it wouldn’t stop the hurt and embarrassment she felt at that moment at watching her former husband violating her trust and privacy. It wouldn’t stop Madeleine from releasing the video of it to the press and public. And it wouldn't stop the love she felt for Liam -- no one was powerful enough to take that feeling away from her.
But it was those words Madeleine threatened her with that got equal consideration with that video in Riley’s mind. She tried to envision how the scenario would carry out if the video was released and for those who would be affected by it: her father, her friends, her former students.
Liam.
“It’s a shame that he’ll lose his reign, all because of you.”
“Would you really do that to Liam?”
“Do you genuinely believe you’re worth all the trouble it will cause him?”
Riley hit the pause button, her hands flying up to cover her tear-laden face as she bent over in sobs, shaking her head. She was wrestling with that inner voice, replaying Madeleine’s words like a broken record while struggling to remember everything Liam told her about trusting him and his love for her.
No matter how hard she tried to let his tender voice speak to that sacred place in her heart, Madeleine’s threats and taunts were getting the best of her. If there was even a slight possibility that the Countess was right, and Liam would get dragged through the mud in all of this, then there was no question what needed to be done.
Those scattered bricks that formed the walls she came to Cordonia with, the ones Liam had broken down, were quickly stacking up again, one on top of the other. If something didn’t happen soon, Riley would be surrounded and suffocated inside that impenetrable cocoon that initially caused herself to doubt her worthiness to him in the first place.
All of those insecurities and fears crept up faster than a flooded riverbank, and she felt powerless to stop it from rising. Even if she could, she’d never allow Liam to suffer the consequences of something she had the power to prevent. To hell with whatever happened to her, but not him. He saved her weeks ago, and as her teary gaze slid from her hands to the wardrobe closet across the room, this would be her way of saving him.
Riley picked up the remote from her lap and tossed it aside. Determined to get out of the palace and Cordonia before anyone could see her, she swallowed her anger and grief and swiped a knuckle under each eye to dry the tears shed.
She rose to her feet faster than she should have, feeling an intense shock of pain that began in her hip and shot down to her feet. There were no doubts that the fall from struggling with Madeleine injured her far worse than she wanted to admit to herself. With a shrieking whimper, she ground her teeth together and doubled over, feeling like she might faint.
Riley grasped her back and gave herself a second to breathe through the pain before straightening up and staggering to her wardrobe to pack whatever she could as quickly as possible.
_____________
Liam stepped off the dance floor with Olivia's arm curled through his and escorted her back to their table. The conclusion of the ball was nearly upon him, and most guests had already stopped on their way out to say their farewells and offer congratulatory well-wishes. When they'd ask about the Queen's whereabouts, he'd tell them she had something come up that needed her attention. No one dared press him on the issue.
Checking the time on his watch, Liam looked up as Maxwell ran over with his phone in hand and dropped into a seat. He looked curiously at the out of breath Beaumont and asked, "What's going on, Maxwell?"
"Sorry," he replied before plucking a flute of champagne from a passing server's tray and gulping it down quickly. Wiping the droplets that dribbled from his mouth to his chin off with the back of his hand, he panted. "I ran here as fast as I could. I just got a text message from Drake. He's heading back soon."
"Did he say what the results of the paternity test were?" Olivia asked.
Maxwell nodded. "Yeah. They're Bastien's for sure. Las Vegas officials are allowing Drake to leave, but they've detained Bas until he pays up the $200,000 he owes to Boom Boom. Drake's return flight is scheduled to leave tomorrow morning, Cordonia time."
Liam pulled out his wallet and tossed $100 at a smug Leo, who promptly counted them out and stuffed the bills into his pocket. "I told you those little dudes weren't mine, bro. Really, your doubt in me hurts."
"I'll admit you were right, Leo. But you do have a track record when it comes to being involved in weird stuff like this."
"Yeah, I've gotten myself into some pretty hairy shit a time or two," he laughed as the memories came to him. "Ahh, good times, good times. But, y'know, it wasn't always just fun and games with me, Liam. During those few occasions when I'd show up to train on being the top dog of this place, Father taught me several valuable lessons. Wanna know what they were?"
"Not really," Liam answered dryly, then tossed back the rest of his scotch to prepare himself. "But I assume you're going to tell me anyway."
"Damn right I am! This is good shit to know, straight from the Big Kahuna himself." He leaned forward and lowered his voice. "You must never tell anyone what I'm about to share with you all. This is top secret, classified Cordonian shit we're talking about; lives are on the line here. Father would be pissed if --"
"Just spit it out already!" Olivia snapped.
"Alright, first, never jizz in a jacuzzi unless you want to be covered in a thin spiderweb-like amalgamation of your own gravy. Daddio said he learned the hard way on that one ..."
"Oh, God. Leo!" Sickened, Liam dropped his head.
" ... Next, when you kiss a woman's hand, do it on the thumb side. Most people scratch their asses with their fingers, but rarely their thumbs. I might be an exception to the rule on that one." Leo chuckled to himself. "And lastly ... Rys spermies are MEAN sons-of-bitches, and we should dip my balls in a mug of hot water every day to kill them before having sex."
"What the hell?" Olivia grimaced as she lowered her coffee mug away from her lips and pushed it away.
"My dad told me the same thing," Maxwell boasted. "Except he called them Beaumont spermies. I guess he heard the same story from someone different than your dad."
Liam lowered the hands that were covering his face and breathed out heavily, "Leo, did our father ever teach you about anything other than using protection and sex during these meetings? Anything about negotiations, taxes, treaties ..."
Leo considered him for a moment. "Nope. He said you'd do all that stuff."
Liam grumbled. "Of course he did."
Olivia looked between Leo and Maxwell and scowled. "Well, it's too bad neither of your fathers took their own advice." She grabbed her clutch from the table. "At least I'll rest easier knowing the two of you aren't reproducing. Now, if you'll excuse me."
"I'll walk out with you, Liv." Liam rose and left the ballroom, having had more than enough of his fill of Leo for the night. There was also an incredibly sexy woman upstairs he'd been dreaming of pleasing all day, and he was overly eager to make good on his promise to join her shortly.
______________
Liam made his way through the residential wing and down the long hallway to his quarters. While undoing his tie, he stopped midway when he noticed a vase that usually sat on a decorative table along the wall, tipped over on its side with bundles of long-stemmed roses littered on the ground around it.
As he stooped down to pick them up, he found it oddly peculiar -- they didn't just fall over like this on their own. If a member of the staff had knocked them over, they would have picked them up; he felt certain Riley would have, as well.
After rearranging the flowers in the vase and situating them back on the table, Liam removed his key card from his pocket and swiped it through the key fob next to the door.
"Riley! I'm home," he called out in a sensual tone, knowing she was most likely upstairs -- hopefully naked and ready to get her ass spanked -- and wouldn't have heard him.
Taking a moment to check his reflection in the entryway mirror, Liam smoothed back his hair and tested his breath against his palm, satisfied he was good. After a quick stop in the kitchen to grab a can of whipped cream and chocolate sauce, Liam ascended the stairs, two at a time, to his bedroom.
"Daddy's ready for his dessert ..." his exuberant voice trailed off as the sultry smirk he donned quickly faded away when he walked into an empty room. "Riley?"
Glancing around the bedroom, the en suite door was still open, and the light was off, so he knew she wasn't in there. The bed was still in pristine form and didn't look touched. He wasn't at all worried; Riley likely went for a snack, even though that thought seemed rather odd considering how adamant she was about returning to their quarters earlier.
Liam placed the toppings on a side table and slipped out his phone. He plopped down on the bench at the foot of their bed, thinking maybe he'd missed a message or call from her.
There was nothing.
He scratched his head; it wasn't like Riley not to mention to him if she'd gone somewhere, not that she had to. But in this case, she knew he'd be up soon. Thinking about the overturned vase Liam walked upon, something started to not sit well with him.
With the cell still in his hand, he pulled her contact information up. Just as he was about to hit the dial button, he heard "Liam" in a low, raspy voice.
Relief washed over him as he stood and put his phone away. "Love, you worried me. Everything okay?" Her face was ashen, and her eyes red and swollen. Liam's insides immediately clinched.
Riley didn't answer as Liam crossed the room, frantically approaching her, worry engraved on his features. “Riley, love, what’s wrong? What happened?” His eyes were desperately searching for any clue as to what was clearly something wrong with his wife.
She held out her hand, preventing him from coming too close. “Please ... don’t.”
Bewildered, he asked, “What are you doing, sweetheart?”
Riley turned her head away somberly; she couldn't bear to look at him. She had planned to get out of the palace before he returned from the ball; there was no way she would be able to face him. Liam would want an explanation that she couldn't give him. But when she got to the car, Riley noticed there was something important she forgot to give back to him, and there was no way she would take it. Maybe somewhere inside, even if she couldn't admit it, she needed to see him and do this right. “I ... have to go.” Her words were barely audible.
Liam's brows bumped together. “Go? You’re going somewhere this late? But you were tired before --”
“No,” Her head shook faster than she realized before she spat the rest out. “I’m leaving Cordonia. I’m returning to Las Vegas, and I’m not coming back.”
“Riley? What the hell is going on? You were fine and having a good time 30 minutes ago, and now, all of a sudden, you want to go back to Nevada. What am I missing here? Does this have something to do with what happened at dinner? Because I told you --”
“You’re not missing anything. I came here to prevent you from marrying Madeleine, and I did that. That was the agreement, and now ... I’m going home.”
Liam started to laugh and wagged his finger at her. “Leo put you up to pranking me? He's mad about me sending that damn monkey away and is trying to get me back, right? Because if he did, that's just … just heartless. And I don’t find it funny.”
“No, Liam.." She shook her head again. "Leo didn’t put me up to this, and it's not a prank.” Riley carefully pulled off the wedding bands she came back to give him and held them out to him.
He looked at them and gritted his teeth. “Put them back on,” he commanded.
“I can’t do that, Liam. They belonged to your mother, and I’m not taking something so sentimental with me back to Vegas.”
“You’re damn right you're not taking them back to Vegas with you because you’re not going!”
“I am.”
“No, you’re not!”
Riley choked out into a wispy sob, “I’m so sorry, Liam. I'm so sorry!”
He said nothing as he stared at her in disbelief and saw that she was serious. “Why?” He asked as his throat clenched and the first tear slipped down his cheek.
Her body felt leaden, never having seen him this shattered. “Liam, I just want to go home, okay? I mean ... this has been an amazing experience, and I’ll never forget it, but I miss my home, and my job, and my friends ..."
“Fuck your home! I’ll buy you one here that looks just like it. Visit your friends all you want ... hell, bring them here if you want to; I don’t care. That's NOT what's going on! There’s something you’re not telling me. And I want to know, NOW!”
Riley startled at his yell, wanting to hold him and make it better. “Liam, I don’t want to be in Cordonia anymore, or be the Queen, or live in this palace. I want to go home.”
He motioned around the room.“THIS is your home, Riley ... Cordonia.  I’m your home! This palace is your home." Liam scrubbed a frustrated hand furiously over his face. "Again, you were fine 30 minutes ago. What changed between you leaving the ball and coming up here? You're not telling the truth for some reason, but I can’t figure out why. Did I do something to upset you? Did someone else do something to upset you?"
"No!" she responded expeditiously.
"I love you, Riley. You know that, right?" She nodded; the glisten in his blue eyes and the desperation in his trembling voice was destroying her willpower. "Do you …  still love me?"
Riley slammed her eyes shut. She loved him with every fiber of her being, and to tell him so in this very moment would only serve to prolong this hellacious situation. The only way to protect him from losing everything -- in her mind -- was to let him go. He would fight her on this, and it broke her heart to see the pain and confusion in his eyes, but it had to be done.
“Do. You. Love. Me?” he enunciated his question once more. The struggle and agony on her face were evident to him.
Riley turned away from Liam and faced the door. Did she have it in her to answer that question with a lie?
"... the council will have no choice but to question Liam's decision-making abilities after not only squandering his pick of a queen on some American nobody but now one whose ass will be featured on the desktops of teenage boys across the world. It's a shame he'll lose his reign, all because of you. Would you really do that to Liam? Are you worth the trouble?"
The sadness crushed her. There was no other way to protect him. Riley swiped at her face and answered firmly.
“No.”
With that, the Queen walked out, leaving the King in an empty room with his shock, his confusion, and an unimaginable pain he'd never get over.

Chapter 2: A Chance Encounter
The three of you had gotten off the train a little while ago and were on the way to Hogwarts through a boat ride.
The castle in front of you stood tall and proud, its giant doors awaiting the first years to enter and be sorted into their houses.
After walking some more, you and the other first years found yourselves in the Great Hall.
The hall was big. Decorated with candles that were floating in midair, older students sat at the long tables, clapping as the younger students walked inside.
The group of first years were ushered towards the front of the great hall, where the headmaster stood next to a group of teachers, and an old looking hat.
“Welcome to Hogwarts, it is wonderful to finally meet you after all this time. Before we can start our welcoming feast, we must sort you all into your respective houses. Now, we will call you up one by one, so there’s no need to rush.”
The headmaster stepped back from the spot he was standing in and walked towards the hat that was sitting on a lonesome chair and lifted it.
One by one, the first years were sorted into houses, the hall erupting with cheers after each sorting.
Not paying attention, you were admiring the elegance of the Great Hall. It felt so spacious and welcoming.
Your thoughts were interrupted when you felt a nudge to the side of your stomach. You looked to your right and saw Azalea slightly pointing to the stage.
“That's him, that was the boy I ran into at the station.”
You looked up and saw a boy that was about to be seated in the chair the sorting had been sitting in earlier. He looked small in stature, his hair was smooth and neatly combed over to one side, his clothes were all one monochrome color, consisting of dark blues and gray. His face looked blank, almost as if he had no thoughts at all, but his dark eyes shined whenever he looked up, the brightness of the candles reflected onto his eyes making them look rather innocent.
The hat was placed onto his head and hummed as it thought of the right house to place him in. It didn’t take the hat long before a gasp was heard, and the boy was sorted into Slytherin.
Cheers from a nearby table were heard as the boy got up and walked towards the table filled with green robes.
The surrounding whispers said that his name was Tom Riddle. Tom Riddle, what a simple name, simple yet mysterious.
After a few more children were sorted, it was your turn to climb the stage and sit on the chair.
The hat was placed on your head, and it did the same thing as it did with the other kids, hum and whisper as it thought of where to place you.
“Gryffindor? I sense some bravery in you, but you tend to put yourself down a lot, don't you?”
Heat rushed up to your face as you heard what the hat had said, the entirety of Hogwarts didn’t need to know everything about you.
“Hufflepuff? You value justice and loyalty, just like them.” The hat continued to hum upon your head, slightly spinning as it thought some more.
“Ravenclaw? I see some credible wit in you, along with your drive to learn and creativity.” It had felt like the hat was asking you what house you wanted to be placed in, but you didn’t know. Your dad didn’t go that much into detail about the houses at Hogwarts, so you were completely lost.
“Let’s see, Slytherin? Ambitious are you, with good leadership qualities.” Your eyes landed on the Slytherin table that was across the hall, some students narrowed their eyes at you, making you look away quickly.
It felt like you were in the chair for hours, the sorting hat was taking forever. The time was cut short however when the hat gasped and yelled, “Ravenclaw!” you sighed in relief as you didn’t have to be the center of attention any longer.
Climbing down the steps, you walked to the Ravenclaw table, where a girl welcomed you.
Her name was Vixie Leon. She was very friendly and introduced you to the other Ravenclaws that were around the table. You greeted them and went back to watching the sorting ceremony, now wondering if your friends would be sorted into the same house as you.
And as if Merlin himself was listening to you, they were.
Once the three of you were reunited at the same table, you squealed with glee.
The rest of the ceremony went well, and the students were finally able to eat and talk with each other.
After the welcoming feast, the prefects lead the first years to their house common rooms, so they could unpack and meet their roommates.
Ravenclaw’s common room was special because unlike the other common rooms that required a password or for you to tap certain areas of a barrel, the Ravenclaw common room required you to answer a riddle to get inside.
There was a bronze knocker on the door in the shape of an eagle. Once the students were crowded at the entrance, the knocker spoke a riddle, “Imagine you are in a dark room. How do you get out?”
The boy prefect and girl prefect looked at each other, whispering possible answers before the boy spoke up, “Stop imagining.” The door creaked open, the view of the common room was open to the students, who all gathered inside.
The Ravenclaw common room was beautiful. It was located in one of the tallest towers at Hogwarts, the high arched windows allowing those who looked through them a view of many of the things Hogwarts was known for, including the Quidditch pitch and Forbidden forest. Banners of the Ravenclaw emblem were draping down from the walls. Each panel of brick between the windows was decorated with a small lantern that shined a bright yellow. There was a small globe that stood near one of the windows that was being spun by one of the students, a spell book out in the open that contained basic and some advanced charms, and a telescope that was pointing to one of the windows. On the ceiling is a reflection of the night sky, even during the day you can still see the stars and galaxies moving to and away from each other.
There is a large room that connects to the common room that serves as a library. Although smaller, it is said to have almost just as many books as the main library, but people doubt that. In the middle of the common room are a few tables that students can sit at and discuss with friends or work on their homework. On the right side of the room sat a few sapphire sofas detailed with bronze work. A few pillows with the Ravenclaw emblem were placed ever so neatly upon the sofas.
The dorms were located behind an opening in the wall that was guarded by a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw. On the left were the boy dorms and on the right were the girl dorms.
You, along with Melissa and Azalea, headed up to the girl dorms and found a vacant room, well at least you were thinking it was vacant.
Inside stood a lanky girl, blonde hair that stopped right at her shoulders and fair skin that looked like it was slightly sunburned.
When hearing the door to the room open, she turned around in surprise, her blue eyes danced from one person to the next.
“Are you guys planning on staying here?” She asked.
“Well there are three free beds, so I will be staying here, not sure about you two.” Azalea picked up her luggage and threw it onto one of the empty beds. Her form being absorbed into the sheets of the bed as she laid down.
“I hope you don’t mind us being your potential roommates.” Melissa walked towards another bed and set her things down and sat on the mattress as she unpacked a few of her things.
“Oh, not at all! I just didn’t know people were going to come in so quickly,” The girl looked embarrassed, her clothes were scattered all over one of the beds and floor, “I’ll have my area cleaned up as soon as possible.” She scampered off and started to put her clothes into the drawers that were next to her bed.
“I’m Naomi, by the way, Naomi Stems.”
All three of you introduced yourselves after she did and talked through the night as you unpacked your luggage and put your things away. Naomi brought up that her mom was American, and her dad is from England. She almost ended up going to Ilvermorny, but her dad insisted that she go to Hogwarts because it was one of the best wizarding schools in the world.
The four of you talked through the rest of the day, and without knowing it, the sun was already setting outside.
Melissa had taken out her wand and was demonstrating a spell she had learned in one of her dad's grimoires. It was a small shocking jinx, when cast, would send a spark flying to the person it was aimed at and slightly shock them. She had tried it on her younger siblings, who all cried when she was successful.
She cast the jinx, and it went towards you, stinging your wrist. It hadn’t hurt that bad,, but it still stung, you were laughing as you rubbed the area in which it had hit. Whilst rubbing, your heart stopped, the bracelet that your dad had given you was missing.
Quickly standing up from your bed, you were undressing your bed of its sheets and rampaging through your luggage trying to find it.
When the other girls tried to ask what was wrong, you simply told them that your bracelet was missing, and when they offered their help you said no.
Instead, you told them that you would retrace your steps since you got to Hogwarts and try to find it.
Leaving the common room, you headed out of the Ravenclaw tower and back to the corridors.
Walking to and from all the places you had visited, trying to think where you could have misplaced the small piece of jewelry.
‘Could it be on the Hogwarts express?’ the thought made your blood go cold, from what you could remember from your conversation with your dad, he said to never lose it, and here you are, a few hours later.
You reassured yourself by saying that you had it on during the sorting hat ceremony, you felt it on your wrist, so it must be somewhere in Hogwarts.
Would asking a professor be appropriate? Was there a lost and found system in Hogwarts? Would they even care if you lost your bracelet, it was muggle jewelry?
Trailing on the outskirts of the castle, you had no luck finding the bracelet. The sun was almost gone, only a few flickers of it’s light paved along the floor. Night was setting in, and you didn’t have much time left.
Even if you did have time, finding a small bracelet in a place as big as this would seem impossible.
On the verge of giving up, you began walking back to the castle. Maybe you could tell your dad that someone stole it while you were on the train?
Walking back in defeat, you were suddenly stopped when you heard a distant hissing sound.
Thinking it was just your imagination, you continued on your journey, but it happened again.
Curiosity got the better of you, and you turned your feet towards the source of the noise and tread along the grassy path as you made your way to a small area that was covered by trees.
You hide yourself behind a tree and peeked to see what was going on. Nearby, there was a boy kneeling down and holding his hand out to a snake. You watched him in action, he was doing what seemed like the impossible, he was speaking with the snake.
Both of them hissed back and forth at each other
Was speaking to animals common in the wizarding world? Your father never told you anything about something like that. Even someone like Newt Scamander, a famous Magizoologist, wasn't able to talk to animals directly.
The snake was slowly inching towards the boy's hand, and that's when you noticed something. Your eyes opened wide as you saw that the snake was gripping with its tail. Your bracelet was in the scaly grasps of the snake!
The gasp that came from your mouth was too loud, it alerted both the snake and the boy of your presence.
When he turned, and you saw his face, you recognized it. It was that Tom Riddle boy from the ceremony.
He stared at you for a few seconds before asking, “What do you want?”
There was no point in hiding behind a tree anymore, stepping out from behind your hiding spot you trailed carefully as you approached them.
“Funny story actually, the snake you were hissing at, it’s holding my bracelet.” you tried to act nonchalant as possible, but merlin your heart was beating like you were running miles.
The snake in question was not small, it was quite large, actually.
It had bright yellow eyes with black corneas, it was a dark brown to black color, with orange markings on its scales.
The boy, or rather Tom, looked back at the snake and noticed the bracelet, “It belongs to you?”
You nodded in agreement, if he was speaking with the snake, could he possibly have the bracelet returned to you safe and sound?
That’s what you were hoping, at least.
Your hopes were cut short when the snake slithered past him and towards you, making your heartbeat that much faster. Had the snake sensed your fear and taken you as a threat? First time at Hogwarts and your journey was about to be cut short by a snake of all things.
Stepping backwards, you tried to distance yourself, but this only made the snake move faster.
And as if an unlucky presence was controlling you, a stone had just magically conjured itself behind you. Was it magic? Or was it your mind that was too focused on the snake to realize that you had something behind you that would undoubtedly lead to you being eaten that much quicker.
Falling onto your bottom, the snake took the opportunity and lunged towards you, causing you to hold your breath as it came, but it had stopped.
When you finally regained your conscience of the situation, you realized that Tom had hissed something to the snake, making it stop right in front of your legs.
Tom walked towards the snake and grabbed the bracelet that was entrapped between its tail, examined it and handed it back to you.
You reached for the bracelet and stood up, legs slightly shaking at the realization that the snake was still next to you, but not for long.
Tom walked away from you, and the snake followed, vanishing into the distance.
Once you had caught your breath, you yelled with all the voice you had left in you, “Thank you!”
He didn’t turn around, he just kept walking, and you did too, back to your dorm.

From the Darkness | Part 1
This is a commission from the lovely @grogusmum! I'm so so so sorry for how late this is love! Life got in the way a bit. Originally I was gonna do this as one giant piece, but you've been waiting too long and so I just needed to get something out. This ended up being a bit more soft-angst rather than fluff but I tried my best to balance it out. The next part will be full-on found family fluff though! 🥰
This whole thing stemmed from that throwaway line 'I've spent much time on Tatooine' from The Marshall. Basically, I just liked the idea of Din having a somewhat secret life hidden away there. It gets explained a bit more in the second part, but that's really all the context you need right now. 😅🥰
Pairing: Din Djarin x Neutral Reader
Words: 2.5k
Genre: Found family, fluff, soft angst
Warnings: Star Wars level violence, vague mentions of PTSD/Trauma, nightmares
Summary: Din comes home to Tattooine and you spend the night on the Razor Crest.
Tumblr media
You always heard the Razor Crest before you saw it. The loud hum of the clunky engine made you jump every single time and you had always wondered how long it would be until the ship just dropped out the sky.
Your answer came quicker than you thought. It was around midnight when the first signs came, snippets of voices fluttered by like quiet, sleep-laced whispers on the wind.
See you we do! Coming home we are!
Then came the ship barrelling onto the landing pad, and you weren’t dramatic in saying you thought the planet was about to explode; walls rumbling, ground vibrating. Peli had been prompted to spew out a few choice words, stepping outside just as you did to watch the slivers of silver moonlight spring off the ship as it finally settled down.
The landing had been…less than graceful to say the least. The engine sounded worse than you’ve ever heard. One of her feet had been ripped clear off, making her tilt to the side at an unnerving angle and you didn’t even want to think about the number of outer plates there were to replace.
What worried you more was the look of annoyance on your boss’s face, pinched and red, and you just had enough time to convince her to head back to bed, promising to deal with The Mandalorian until morning. And thank every planet in the galaxy she listened because if the Crest hadn’t woken up the neighbourhood, you knew she sure as hell would of.
There was an etiquette, you learned through years of working on the hanger; you should never enter a person’s ship first. To regulars, it was like walking into someone’s home without being invited. But so early in the morning you weren’t for niceties.
You walked up that ramp like pray on a hunt, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes and you may have stumbled a bit, but it was a hunt.
The Mandalorian was clearly waiting for you, sitting in the cockpit, the baby asleep in his pod although you had no doubt he was listening to every word.
Very out of character, he was the first to speak, ‘I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.’
‘It’s okay.’ It wasn’t…well, it was. You were just grumpy and tired and wanted to go back to bed, ‘She looks a mess.’
‘Can you fix her?’
You had assumed her mess from the work of another bounty gone wrong, maybe Mar again but you weren’t in the right mind to ask. ‘Depends.’
‘On?’
‘What you’re about to ask me to do next.’
There was a silence, a comfortable one but silence, nevertheless. Eyes heavy, you were fading fast, head resting against the passenger seat you had claimed as your own. You weren’t too sure if you had fallen asleep or not. You closed your eyes for what felt like a moment too long and when they opened again, Din had shifted his seat to look at you.
‘We need to stay for a few days.’ His head tilted like a little puppy dog. Helmet still on, you were left trying to imagine how he looked in that moment; eyes squinted, crinkled around the sides in admiration.
Not the exact words you wanted to hear, but not surprising in the slightest.
You decided to push again, ‘Anything else?’
He was smiling, at least you were sure he was, his voice sounding a little lighter despite the artificial muffle of the modulator, ‘Come to bed?’
---
I caught a frog today. Very big frog. I wanted to show you. But ManDad was not very happy with the frog in the big ship. So I ate it, I did. Miss you lots, I did. And so did ManDad. Smiles when he thinks about you, he does. I feel the happiness. Thank you for making him happy.
---
Turns out it hadn’t been Mar that took a hit at his ship.
There had been an incident, Din told you in the quiet of darkness, arms wrapped around you, his head buried safely. Long tufts of hair tickled your jaw and chin whenever he moved or talked, about due for a haircut but that was a battle for another day.
‘Moff Gideon is dead.’ But so was Kuill, the kind Ugnaught who had helped at the start of all this mess. Whatever was left of the Empire was still after the kid and Din still needed to find the Jedi. ‘Karga’s still alive.’
‘I thought he double-crossed you?’ At some point his head had moved onto your chest, letting your fingers card through his hair. You could just about see his face in the small cracks of light, not that he needed to hide anymore, sometimes you think the dark was comforting for him.
The smallest of smiles tugging at the corners of his lips and you really hoped it was because of your touch and not the thought of the Guild agent. Small wins and all that, you guessed. Better to have Greef around than no one at all.
‘I can’t stay long.’ His voice wavered, ever so slightly. You had become accustomed to the bittersweetness of it all, stroking the back of his neck as your heavy eyes began to droop again.
‘That’s okay.’ While it felt like a brick being thrown at your chest, you understood. Truly. The entire Empire was after the kid and, subsequently, him. Not to mention the constant battle against other hunters who had it out for his head.
Because while you knew time was finite with him, at least you had something.
---
Happy to be home we are. ManDad gets lonely sometimes. Feel it I do. I try my best to make him smile but sometimes it does not work. Make him happy, you do. A man should not be lonely for too long, he must not, for loneliness can be deadly. When I am gone, look after him you must. Promise?
---
Quiet moments in the dark were always the loudest for Grogu. Like father like son, you guessed. Neither of them liked the stillness much, both of their minds racing faster than the speed of light. It was always easier to read them in these moments. Flashes of images blended into a mosaic behind your eyes as you tried to hold down a specific part of a memory or a dream.
Some nights it was easier than others. There were times Grogu would sense you in his mind and would purposefully push an image forward, always something he thought was silly like a particularly funny looking frog or a memory of Din singing to some cheesy eighties song you had left behind on a CD during their last visit.
The colourful rhythm and syncopated beats making the walls of the Razor Crest dance along with them and you did everything not to burst out laughing in the still night, biting your lip only for a small snort to escape. Din caught on, barely opening his eyes a crack to mumble out some half-arsed are you okay before rolling over and heading back to sleep again.
It was easier to read Din when he was asleep. Not that you did it much or even intended to in the first place. But sleep tore down the walls he had spent years building up, subconsciously pushing the dreams into your mind. If Grogu’s thoughts were a lulled whisper, Din’s were white noise. Fuzzy static took up most of the space, at times slipping to let through blips of voices or a grainy picture of long past memories. They were too quick to get a full idea of what he was dreaming about.
A boy.
The pop of blasters.
A woman screaming.
One deep breath and the image faded. Din would wake for a moment, eyes closed and he’d turn back to face you. His chest shook, barely and nothing noticeable normally, but you caught it, pressing a kiss to the top of his head, and mumbling a soft it’s okay as he settled back into you.
---
Today was not so bad, it was not. But sometimes I still think about the dark place. Scary and lonely was I. For a long, long time. Then there’s light and I see ManDad for the first time. And then everything is better, it is! No longer do I need to fear the dark.
---
Like always, Grogu climbed out of his pod early morning and forced the doors of the sleeping pad open, giving him room to wiggle his way between Din and you. These were the times you’d feel the tug of his mind at the doors of yours, asking permission to be allowed in.
If your consciousness was awake enough, you’d let him, letting the Green Bean explore the distorted images of Earth and your past life. You would find him standing next to you, present you, in the middle of the dirtied street, dark and damp as rain pounded on the concrete around you, drowning out the screams of the people as they rushed by.
He’d hold his arms up, a quiet hold me please passing by and you’d take him in your arms, holding him close. Sparks of fear rolled through you, weighed down by dread and it was hard to tell if it was coming from Grogu or your past self.
Clouds filled the sky like grey shadows. It had taken you a long time to realise they weren’t normal, that the clouds were too big, were floating by too quick to be anything natural.
That had been the first time you saw them. Aliens. Or what people on Earth would think of as aliens. Tall, grey, slimy, the stuff you had only ever seen on TV and they were now shooting from the skies in streaks of red light. Streets pathed in dust that smelt like ash and day-old water.
The two of you walked through the mess like ghosts, people running left and right and through you, some in slow motion while some were ungodly in their speed. They all died in the end. Zapped out of existence by a singular lazar.
Someone yelled about children. Save the children. Spare the children. Collect the children. Round them up near the hanger, discard the ones we don’t need, you know the ones I mean, don’t talk back to me. Their voice washed over you in cold chills, sounding so far underwater that they might as well not be there at all.
A man stopped in front of you. Tall dressed in all black. A human man staring right at you. He didn’t look panicked like the rest, was calm and collected as he pulled out his gun and aimed so perfectly right at your head. You didn’t move, didn’t duck for cover as he pulled the trigger.
You should know better than to look.
There’s a woman behind you. Was a woman behind you. She’s dead when you turn around, a pile of smoking ash on the cobbled path, already being washed away by the rain.
Then there was the child, arms still stretched out to hold their mother’s hand, eyes wide in fear but they don’t cry. No matter how much their heart is racing. No matter how much they want to scream as the man grabs their arm and drags them away, throwing them in line with the rest of them, waiting for their turn to be scanned and thrown in the hanger.
They don’t scream, even when the doors slam shut and darkness is all that’s left.
---
Awake, are you? Sleep I cannot. Wonder if ManDad knows how much I love him, I do. ManDad is amazing he is. He saved me from the dark and keeps me safe, he does. Let’s me eat cookies, he does. Such lovely cookies. Try some, you must. But ManDad hurts, I feel. Feel his heavy heart, I do. So much pain and loss cause a man to be sad. Want him to be sad I do not. When I am gone, please tell him all the time that he is special, he is. Always be my buir, he will.
---
‘Buir.’ Grogu sat on your stomach, watching with wide, curious eyes as he followed your finger to where Din moved back and forth getting ready to head out. It was just some low-level bounty, armature work really, but that didn’t stop the anxiety from budding in the pit of your stomach. Distractions curved the nausea, curled up with the pod door open, blanket tucked under your chin with the residual warmth of his body still hugging you, ‘He’s your buir.’
Din hadn’t put his helmet back on yet, the roll of his eyes contrasted with the small half-smile on his lips. In the light, it was easier to see the damage he had taken during his last fight. There was only so much an ex-bounty-turned-nursing droid and some bacta spray could do. The large gash across his forehead looked painful and you made a mental note to check it over when he returned.
‘Don’t teach him that.’
‘Why not?’
There was a pause. You caught the way the small smile faltered, wavering with doubt and uncertainty and maybe a hint of sadness although that last part was hard to tell. And while the wall Din had built around himself was thick, sadness was strong enough to creep through the cracks. Even Grogu noticed, large ears pricking, head tilting in ManDad’s direction with a small coo.
‘Aliit ori'shya tal'din.’
‘You’ve been practicing.’ The words were light, a brow quirked in your direction and you knew what it meant; you’re adorable. Thank you for trying. At least he was smiling, finishing up the last buckle on his holster ‘Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum.’
Maybe you should have been more surprised by the slip of his tongue. The way he carried on getting dressed, not even pausing once at his mistake.
You had heard him say those words before a hundrad times or more. But you wondered how long he had meant those words. Months? Years? Was it a new development? Was it something he had always known?
But there was no surprise. Instead, a warmth planted itself in your chest, and it grew, branches stretching to fill every ounce of your being until it was all you could feel.
‘Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum.’ His eyes widened at your mimicked words. The pronunciation was still a bit off and sometimes the emphasis was stressed on the wrong bits, but it was nice to know you were close enough that he understood you, ‘I know what it means now. You can’t trick me anymore.’
Din picked up the helmet and put it on before you had the chance to see the full smile that bloomed, but you heard it, the hints of pure happiness shining through the modulated, ‘I was never trying to trick you.’
You fought back your own smile. The heat spreading across your cheeks told a different story though, serving as a reminder of years old built-up emotions neither of you had time to unpack at that moment.
So, you did what you both did best. You quickly changed the topic, shifting your attention back to the Green Bean plopped on your stomach, happily teething on the small silver ball he sneakily snatched from the controls. A few seconds later and his attention found yours, giving you a gleeful smile as he held out the ball as a peace offering.
‘Ba'buir.’ You pointed back at Din and Grogu laughed, ‘He’s your Ba'buir.’
But Din was already out of sight, halfway to the door when he called back, ‘He’s older than me!’
Older, I surely am. And wiser. Yet know, you do not. Be careful ManDad For space can be dark and dangerous.
The lock hissed as it opened, seemingly louder in the suddenly quiet Razor Crest, ‘Be careful.’
‘Always.’
---
buir = parent
Aliit ori'shya tal'din = "Family is more than blood."
Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum ="I love you."; literally: "I will know you forever."
Ba'buir = grandparent

One new message
The sound of the answer machine rang through Fred’s flat, he was staring out over London and her twinkling lights. His waistcoat was loose, hanging open at his chest - tie discarded the moment he stumbled through the door. He’d pretty much flung the sliding glass door to the balcony open, letting the biter breeze whip through his hair, blowing the once still curtain so that it flew in a way that mimicked the way a superhero’s cape flows.
The night of partying had been a wild but well needed distraction. Fred couldn’t stop the image of your kiss from playing over and over in his head, his fingers ghosted over where the absent feeling of your lips lingered, wishing you were here.
“Freddie…” You breathed down the phone, your words slurred still as the liquor clung to your senses.
“About what happened tonight, I don’t think it was-” His heart began to race at the simple thought, the steamy kiss was crossing his mind once again, He heard you take a moment, a pause for thought and he held his breath with you.
“I just - we need to talk. We- I have something to tell you.” You sighed, he was praying he could just call you back, checking his watch, he knew it was too late. What If he did call, would that be so bad?
“I’m sorry, Fred.” the sound of you putting down the phone echoed in his brain. Sorry. What could you possibly be sorry for? It could possibly be one of the best kisses of his life. He couldn’t deny the electricity that he felt from tip to toe and he knew deep down that you felt it too. So why did he feel a pang of sadness hit his chest, winding him like a dementor was sucking the soul out of his body.
Fred fell asleep that night clutching his pillow as he imagined you in its place. He wasn’t sure what made the tears roll down his cheeks, but shrugged it off as the alcohol getting to him. He was snivelling, contemplating leaving you a text. He needed you to know how he felt, that he was aching for you to be with him. He didn’t want things to just be staged anymore, there was undeniable chemistry there between you, he felt it in the way you looked at him. Surely it would be better if you were his, he could kiss and hold you all he wanted without the need for press or cameras. You could have a beautiful, normal life together. You were one of the last thoughts on his brain as he drifted off, his grip against the plush pillow only growing tighter out of desperation.
Waking to the midday sun shining directly into his eyes wasn’t making the pounding headache rattling around in his skull any better. Fred didn’t remember anything about how or when he got home, only recalling the mellow flow of your voice reverberating around his flat. He managed to drag himself from his bed, searching every unorganised cabinet for the sight of even one lonely ibuprofen, sighing as his head fell to rest on the counter with no luck. He realised the grave mistake he had made when his head started thumping, the room spinning and his sight going hazy. Water, he needed hydration.
Two pints of water later, Fred was still feeling the sour effects of last night’s burning liquor, feeling the burn in his chest with every breath, like all the liquid was ready to come right back up at any moment. He sat himself down at the island counter as he pressed the button to replay the voicemail from last night.
I’m Sorry.
The words wouldn’t leave him, he replayed the voicemail over and over, internalising every single word as it played through the speakers. He sat for hours, sat too long until his feet had gone numb from dangling over the seat. The Great British weather had taken its turn for the worst, a clap of thunder distracting Fred from his thoughts, not knowing how deeply the words were hitting him, until he felt a tear drop against the back of his hand. It was too much for him, realising that he needed to see you, touch you, feel you.
I’m Sorry
His feet dragged him towards your place, he didn’t care that he’d been walking for miles or that the rain was drenching him to his very core. It was desperation that drove him to find you. It was like a sign to him that one lonely red rose grew from a bush he passed, stopping dead in his tracks before turning around to look at it. He plucked it from the bush, holding it up to his nose, breathing in the scent. Rose petals mixed with the cold drizzle and muggy air sent him over the edge. He was walking quicker now so that he could get to you, pace kicking up into a small jog, his shoes slapping against the wet pavement with each step.
One light shone dimly from the confines of your apartment. Fred stood outside, debating how he was going to approach this conversation. He loved you, wanted you to be his and he struggled in that moment to find the appropriate words to express it. You were towel drying your hair, supposedly from the rain as you came into view by the window. You looked like an angel, a pure piece of heaven on earth and his heart beat faster, beginning to move closer to the flat’s entrance. That’s when he spotted another figure coming into view from the window, face covered by the towel as you dried their hair. Whoever it was, had at least a foot on you height wise, their hands snaking around your waist to pull you tight and close to them.
Fred’s heart sunk, like it had fully fallen out of his ass, seeing you in the arms of another man made his stomach churn, his grip on the rose growing tighter as the thorns pierced his skin. He didn’t even feel the pain, just the emptiness in his chest. He watched as you pulled the towel from the figure’s face.
The messy ginger hair, round cheeks and adoring smile were obvious. Fred knew exactly who he was seeing, he was blinking so hard wishing that it was just a terrible nightmare. As George’s lips connected with yours, it was as if it rumbled Zeus himself, a bolt of lightning illuminating the dark sky. It was like watching his whole world come crashing down, watching you chase his brother’s lips desperately, the same way you had done with him last night. He couldn’t help but watch as the kiss deepened, George using his strength to pick you up, watching your legs wrap around his waist, walking out of sight.
It was like watching a glimpse of a life he’d never have, the rose fell to the floor, petals breaking off of the stem. Blood was dripping from his hand to the floor, diluted by the rain as it splashed against the stone. Not a single car drove by your house, not one person was outside but Fred in that moment. Loneliness was the only bitter feeling left, it tasted like hell in his mouth, unable to shake the image of you and George together, only hearing two words in his head over and over like a broken record.
I’m Sorry.
Raindrops danced along Fred’s skin, the soft pitter patter mocking him, everything reminded him of you, even in a moment of heartbreak, the glow of Christmas lights, the thunder or the distant sound of horns beeping at one another, it all reminded him of you in the most ridiculous way. His phone chimed, pulling up the messages he realised that his thoughts had overpowered the importance of the messages.
>> I miss your touch Freddie
>> I can come see you tonight
>> why aren’t you responding Fred?
>> don’t you love me?
‘Maybe this is what I need’ Fred thought, Perhaps he needed the out, the quick fuck to get the aggression out of his system. They say it’s wrong to sleep with your boss, but Cherry wasn’t his boss, she was just the publicist. The publicist you shared. If you could sleep with anyone you wanted, why should he feel guilty about it now? After all, if there was one woman who could help him forget, It would be Cheryl.
<< sorry, doll
<< of course i love you
<< come see me x
>> I won’t be long, i’m so desperate for you, Freddie x
It was wrong for him to say that, especially when he didn’t love cherry. Not one ounce of his body felt a connection deeper than just sex. That's all it was to him with Cherry; mindless, carefree sex. Why he kept going back to her like a lost puppy however, was still up for debate.
Cheryl wasn't an unattractive woman, but she wasn't you. She was taller, accentuated by her constant need to wear heels, not that it mattered much to Fred when he towered above most people he met. She had long blonde hair that was always beach waved and perfectly sun-kissed skin like a Miami model. Fred didn't care too much about superficial looks, but it was undeniable that part of the reason he enjoyed Cherry so much was the way her tits, although obviously fake, would bounce in his face begging to be touched as she sank down onto him or the way her full lips looked as they wrapped around his throbbing cock. Fucking Cheryl from behind was as much fun, he had all the ass he could hold onto before him and a tight cunt that always struggled to take him.
Reaching his home Cherry was already waiting for him. She spun around as soon as his presence behind her was felt, lips attaching to his immediately. The red lipstick she wore while unique to her, was now being transferred to the man's lips as they kissed. He wasn't disappointed to be kissing someone, it was disappointment that it wasn't you. Your kisses were heaven compared to what he was getting now, he found himself picturing you in his arms and that seemed to work.
They wasted no time stripping each other's clothes off, Fred was aching to pound his cock into something, even if it had to be Cherry. When the girl tried to straddle him, he grabbed her hips, throwing her against the mattress, causing a giggle to erupt from her lips. "Hands and knees tonight, Doll."
Being seethed inside Cherry felt amazing. He tried to stretch her out, push as much of himself inside as he could, but she was simply so tight. The pace he set was animalistic, fucking the girl raw against the sheets, he couldn't stand to look at her, closing his eyes and pretending it was the girl he’d been longing for. It wasn't enough, he needed more control. Fred's hand was pushing Cherry's face into the sheets, his thrusts more violent and possessive as he continued fucking her senseless.
Back at your home, George was seethed all the way inside you, making your eyes roll to the back of your head. The way you two fit together was like lock and key, a perfect size for each other. "I'm so deep inside of you princess, can you feel me in your belly?" You were nodding, grabbing his hand to press against your abdomen, his thrusts were slow and purposeful, he was trying to make you cum over and over and over again tonight and you were already waiting for number four. "Yes Georgie, right here, it feels so good when you fill me up." he hummed as he felt the tip of his cock hitting where his hand was pressed with every thrust. His precious girl. All for him.
Fred was on the edge, skin slapping as he chased his orgasm, Not caring much for Cherry's desperate moans, no matter how good he was making her feel. He wanted her to shut up, it sounded so fake, but he was ready to release, pulling out to let his cum drip over the curve of her ass. He flopped on the bed next to her, immediately feeling her hand on his cock, stroking gently. "You're so good, Freddie, So big."
She took him into her mouth with ease, it was the only time he could be fully inside of her. His head was back against the mattress as he pictures your soft lips replacing hers. His hand came up to stroke her hair as she continued sucking him off. Try as he might to cum again, he knew it wasn’t your hand on his cock, or your lips. It was another woman, the thought made him sick to his stomach, forcing him to sit bolt upright, pulling himself away from the naked girl on his bed.
“I can’t do this.” he grumbled, grabbing the boxers he had discarded on the floor, pulling them up. Cherry sighed, running a hand through her hair and pulling it over her shoulder, “Do you want me to stay Freddie?” she smiled, playing with the ends of hair as she watched him walk into his bathroom across the hall. “I don’t care.” he spoke plainly, the hurt in his chest hitting him once again as he slammed the door behind him.
He could still hear the hums and moans you made against his lips. As he leant against the shut door, his hand reached down to start palming himself, feeling himself grow hard again at the thought of you. He was picturing you sprawled out on his bed, begging for him, using your mouth to get him off - He was getting close again as he imagined slamming his hips into you. Just as he reached his peak again, one thought plagued his mind, you moaning his twins name. His heart broke again as he came, sighing as he realised that he was too late. You weren’t his to have.

Thanks so much for the request, and sorry for the long wait! I hope this adds up to what you've wanted<3

––––––––––––––––––
Work was hard. That's often how it went, your days dragging like pulling teeth, passing agonizingly slow while you did the best to stay on track. It didn't help that your colleagues could be proper bullies of their own, didn't help that your manager demanded you prove yourself more than anyone else around you.
In your eyes, the treatment you received was downright unfair, but you were used to it by now. You've given up on complaining, on trying to talk things through. It had only gotten worse every time you've tried in the past and at this point, you were tired of it.
You had every right to feel good, to be happy, freshly wed and just back from your honeymoon with Arthur. On your first day already, everyone around you had voiced their displeasure at your absence. As if they had any right to take it from you.
In the afternoon, you finally returned home, pulling into the driveway with a relieved sigh leaving your lips, seeing Arthur's truck parked where it always was. He wasn't a stay-at-home husband, but he spent his time around your property more often than not, working whenever he was needed on the farm led by his adoptive fathers and driving out there whenever one of the animals needed his help. As a veterinarian, that was to be expected of him.
Instead of climbing out of the driver's seat the moment you shut off the engine, you remained sitting inside, reminding yourself to take deep breaths and put on a smile. It was alright. You were home, and so was he. The day was over, and the next one was nothing you had to concern yourself with. Though you couldn't exactly help yourself. It took a while until you felt composed enough to face your husband, to pretend like your first day back at work had gone well and that you were feeling fine. There was no reason to lie to him, you trusted him more than most people in your life, you just didn't want him to be concerned.
And so you stepped inside, moving quietly as you placed your bag down at the door, shrugging out of the jacket you had worn all day. No matter how hot it was by now, late spring often turning out a lot warmer than what was to be expected, the extra layer of clothing had given you some comfort, had spared you the harsh comments you usually endured.
You didn't see Arthur immediately, greeted instead by the Foxhound the both of you called your own, Cain, as Dutch had named him. The older man had found the animal on the side of the road one day, bringing him back here instead of giving him to the shelter, well aware that Arthur and you had been looking for a dog for quite some time. He was a blessing to have around, sniffing your leg and yipping happily upon seeing you, wagging his tail when you crouched down to scratch his ears.
It were the faint sounds of the dog that seemed to catch Arthur's attention, a grumble audible from your living room couch as he roused from what you expected to be another hour long nap. He often took them, still recovering from being sick a couple months back, needing all the rest and relaxation he could get in his rather busy day-to-day life.
"Mornin'," he rubbed at his eyes when he eventually stood by your side, looking groggy and downright adorable with his hair disheveled and his face puffy from sleep. You got to your legs, standing to receive the brief peck to your lips he gave you, unable to fully return his smile. Arthur brushed hair out of your forehead, his brows furrowing slightly while his bright blue eyes searched your expression. "Everythin' alright?" He knew you much too well, knew your every mood and the way you looked when you were down. Sometimes you wished he didn't.
You exhaled deeply, swallowing instead of giving him an answer right away. "It's fine, just... work was exhausting." Which was the truth, though your exhaustion mainly stemmed from something different than the labor you had needed to do.
Arthur hummed lightly, his arm gently wrapping around your waist. "C'mon, let's sit down then. I'll make you lunch," he offered, but you shook your head right away.
"M'not hungry."
"Horseshit, you ain't eaten since breakfast, sit down." Arthur led you to the couch, letting you sink down into the comfortable cushions. You held onto his wrist as he turned to go, wishing for him to sit down by your side for a moment.
His gaze was already worried, your attempts at keeping your state of mind concealed apparently for nothing. He sat down by your side, placing his hand on your thigh in a comforting manner, your heart beating a little faster like it always did. No matter how long you've known each other by now, Arthur still made butterflies flutter within your stomach, made you fall deeper in love with you every time your stares locked.
He didn't need to offer you to talk if you needed, because his eyes seemed to say it all, your own hand resting above his when you opened your mouth to speak. "They've made comments again," you revealed, averting your eyes now to avoid catching the expression in his. You knew how much he disliked your workplace, how toxic he thought your coworkers to be. "About how– about how I shouldn't have gone on break when all I did was get fatter," you frowned, trying not to let the words get to you now.
Even before, you had held onto yourself. You weren't a damsel in distress, weren't one to break down and cry about everything. It wasn't an isolated case, anyways. "And how I– how they didn't understand how I got myself a husband at all." You sighed, reaching up to brush your hair away from your face and tuck it behind your ear. "They're right, aren't they? I'm not... you should have a better wife than me." Every time you stared down at yourself, you couldn't quite believe that Arthur had chosen you, unable to see any sort of beauty within you on most days. Least of all when your very own coworkers kept making fun of you.
Arthur softly reached out for you, taking hold of your chin to tilt it upwards to him. He was much taller than you, the difference clear even when you sat down and lounged together. "You know you ain't gotta listen to them," he reminded, his voice softer than it usually sounded. Even though it still was a little gruff from sleep, he spoke as gently as he could, wanting to comfort you in this moment. "And I know it's hard not to, but you're worth so much more than they could get through their pea-brains." In the worst of times, Arthur still managed to bring a smile to your lips, the corners of your mouth tilting upwards ever so slightly.
He leaned in, kissing your temple and nuzzling your forehead, his fingers entangling with your own. "You're beautiful. Inside'n out. And I hate that they try to tell you otherwise, 'cause you deserve bein' treated like a queen." He kissed your cheek, his stubble tickling your skin. "I love everythin' about you, every little bit, you know that?" His eyes found yours again, genuineness within his own. You swallowed lightly and nodded. Arthur would never lie to you, his loving words and expressions entirely sincere.
"And I married you because you're the only one for me. You're everythin' I ever wanted and more, the best woman I ever had the pleasure to meet." He cradled your jaw, running his thumb over your cheek. "Do you wanna sit outside? I'd cook us somethin', give you a chance to unwind. Maybe you'd like a massage later in the evening." His lips shaped a smile, your own mimicking the gesture. It was impossible to start clinging to the bad thoughts when he filled your head with good ones.
You gave him a small nod, letting him lean in to capture your lips for a sweet and loving kiss, humming happily into his mouth. Because Arthur did make you happier than anyone else ever could, and he made even the hardest of days endurable in the very end.

First Time Together
Requested by: Anonymous
Pairing: Damon x reader
Genre: Fluff, Smut, angst?
Characters: Damon, Y/N
Description: Y/N is touch starved and is not used to people touching her. When Damon and Y/N have their first time, Damon takes care of her and is very sweet.
Tumblr media
Throughout your life, you had little to no physical contact with anybody. Your parents had abandoned you and left you to grow up in the system. Whenever you had been accepted into a new family, you always shied away from them because you knew that they weren't your real parents. This affected you in later life as well.
Stemming from the abandonment, you had very bad trust issues and found it hard to build a relationship with anybody, especially men. They just didn't understand how the abandonment had affected you and they didn't care. Your relationships lasted 1 or 2 weeks at the most; until you met Damon.
Damon is a completely different man to all of the others. You bonded over your traumas and became closer day by day. He fully accepted and understood what you were feeling and always tried to make you feel better. Eventually, your feeling for each other blossomed and Damon asked you out. You said yes, of course, and now you were in the longest relationship you have ever had, feeling very happy.
Tumblr media
You were still getting used to the physical aspects of your relationship which brought out Damon's caring and loving side. He always made sure you felt 100% whenever you were holding hands or cuddling on the couch, which is what made you decide to lose your virginity to him.
"Y/N, are you sure?" Damon's eyes lit up and you could feel a mixture of happiness and nervousness bubbling up inside you. "I'm sure, Damon. I trust you." You shuddered as he moved a hair from your face and tucked it behind your ear. Damon chuckled and leaned in to kiss you.
He was slow and gentle, allowing you to get used to the feeling. You nearly cried with how much contact you were having, you couldn't believe how much you needed it. Slowly, you built up the confidence to kiss him back, earning a little growl from Damon. You felt a slight tingle in the pit of your stomach at this noise and began to get hungrier with the kisses, fully enjoying the feelings it was giving you.
Damon slid you down to a lying position on the bed, slowly and carefully so he didn't overstimulate you. Your heart burst with love as he done this, you could truly tell that he loved and respected you.
He lifted up your top and began to trace featherlight kisses down your body, causing you to groan at the new feeling. This sound spurred Damon on. He took off your top and began to massage your breasts whilst leaving down to kiss you again. You whined at the feelings mixing together.
Damon left your breasts and made his way down your stomach to your jeans. He undid the button and slowly pulled them down your legs. As his hands brushed past your pussy, you felt yourself being turned on causing you to let out a groan.
Damon grinned at the lovely sound that left your lips and pulled down your panties, extra slow. Feeling the cold air against your wet sex, you closed your legs and your cheeks began to flush with embarrassment.
"Y/N, you don't need to hide from me. You are so beautiful and I want to show you how much you mean to me." He crawled upwards towards you and planted a deep kiss on your lips, sending a flood full of feelings to flow through your body.
When Damon took his sort off, your eyes nearly bugged out of their sockets. You ran your hands over his abs and revelled in the feelings that it gave you. He gave you another kiss before crawling off you and taking his jeans off.
Butterflies fluttered in the pit of your stomach when you noticed how large his member was. He walked up to the bottom of the bed and bent down to kiss the inside of your legs.
"Are you sure, sweetheart? We don't have to, we can stop right here." You nodded your head and Damon crawled over to you once more and placed tender kisses to your sweet spot. You felt Damon rub his member against your opening and you felt a jolt of electricity in your pussy.
He slowly pushed in causing you to whimper a little in pain as you adjusted to his size. The pain was quickly subsidised by pleasure when Damon started to push in and out.
Feelings you had never felt before coarsed through your body and your skin was on fire with all of the physical contact. You pulled Damon down onto your lips and gave him a passionate kiss, spurring him on.
"I'm gonna cum, D." This made Damon go faster to ride you through your orgasm. You felt spurts of liquid enter you as Damon orgasmed and fell down beside you.
He pulled you into his arms and kissed the top of your head. "Are you ok, baby?" You nodded your head. "That was the best experience I've ever had. Thank you. I love you." He smiled at these sweet words. "I love you to. Now go to sleep, you deserve it."
The soft thumping of his heart and the rhythm of his breathing lulled you off to sleep, leaving Damon stroking your hair and whispering sweet nothings into your ear.

M&S shopping trip....
That morning was like any other for me a short trip to the local food store during this persistent lockdown full of rules & crap lonely times watching endless movies & eating 🤣....As I pushed the trolly thinking I had kind of become almost robotic in my shopping now knowing each shelf & item off by heart I wandered around aimlessly looking at the others masked up doing just as I was when something took my eye ...I figure I noticed in the opposite isle from behind I thought I recognised ? My heart started pounding at the thought, No couldn’t be...so I walked slightly faster with the trolly, as she went around an isle I try’d to catch up but she was gone in the crowd.
Chuckling to my self I resumed my shopping thinking I was being paranoid half way down this isle I felt a hand on my shoulder pull backwards....as I turned I stood speechless.....stunned by who stood before me ! Something Very unexpected happened....I started welling Up !!!
As if reading me she stepped behind me embracing my chest “Hey it Ok”....I truly fought so very Hard.....But she spoke again “Do you need it tighter cuteness” I nodded as the first tear rolled down my cheek...
She hugged me in a very tight embrace bringing back memories flooding through my mind of her love of making me Cry....
“it’s ok cuteness Let go I won’t let you fall....there we go Clever Baby”
I was lost now crying openly as she turned me around “Hey there There now what’s the matter ?”.....I couldn’t speak for the lump in my throat...
But she spoke for us both.....
“Cuteness are you still having those feelings?” I nodded to her....”But I thought you were over them ?.....
I took a Deep Breath ...Th’They came bb’back.....
She put her hand on my trolly “You won’t be needing this cuteness, push mine & Not a word Madam Look at Me ! ....Clever Baby..... Do What Your Told When Your Told ...Ok ?”...I nodded ....as I pushed her trolly she started putting items in that I knew what they were for! She leaned in to my ear after gathering all she needed as we approached the till she spoke “Am going to hurt you for your lies ...But not like before Baby....this time am going to hurt you really really Bad!”..
She smiled to the shop assistant then we left I put her shopping into her car & she opened the back of the car “In we go cuteness ...Are you in a disposable?” I nodded...she simply smiled as she put on my seatbelt “Wet & Mess it before I get you home...As Crybaby Sweetheart You know what happens if You upset Nanny !”
We drove off as I pushed hard knowing I only had a short time....
Nanny was looking in the rear view mirror at me....A wicked smile that gave me shivers as I knew what she was capable of...such Wicked cruelty one could only dream of this girl was A sadistic who knew how to make me terrified of her....As I looked back at her I gave a grunt loudly as She had trained me to Do all those years ago.....
“Clever girlie Crybaby that’s good....All of it you know your to be empty or else !”.....a 20 min trip then her car pulled into her driveway...”Are you excited to be back at Nanny’s house ? (  I nodded to her ) Clever girlie that pleases Nanny as she is Very pleased today has taken such a wonderful turn for you Baby !...Now let’s get you in so Nanny can prepare baby for her evening Punishment session...Yes Baby Girlie Nanny is going to punish You severely for your naughty LIES !!!!!!.....as she knew you still had submissive little feelings.....O’& Crybaby Not a fucking Word ....Only Your Goo’Goos & Ga’ga’s  Or Else Madam !!!”....
She pushed me down her hall way ..then spoke into the special cupboard...yes baby it’s still set up....Nanny will be with you shortly as she has things to prepare Darling”...
As I opened the cupboard a familiar sight greeted me ! My heart now pounding as I crawled into the small cupboard, it was around 4” in height & three foot wide by a foot deep....the back wall had an old wide studded Dog collar screwed to the wall at my neck height, then at my waist height a similarly old padded weight belt was screwed fast to the wall, a leather sleeve hung to the side, just under the weight belt were two more Dog collars attached to climbing arrest pulleys bolted to the wall a meter apart, the loose rope dangling down from each had a loop for pulling....
Holding my right foot as I knelt against the wall I fitted the cuff, then turned to my left cuffing that ankle also I took hold of the two hanging loops ! Taking a Deep Breath I pulled hard in one motion knowing there would be No turning back now. As my legs pulled both out wards & forward into an unnatural bent position at the side of each hip...next came the belt around my waist tightly I was breathing much faster now due to the restraints & the fact I was incredibly excited over doing this again !
Putting the collar on I was now ready for the one last thing pulling my arms up unnaturally I got them into the leather sleeve to the side of me pausing to catch my breath I then pushed Down hard into the sleeve ! Hearing the Zippering behind me ! As my arms were forced into the centre behind my back by the heavy spring that held the sleeve & the zipper !
I was done now....But knowing it was myself that had put these items in place for Nanny, gave me strange pleasure to know she had after All this time Not removed them !...
My thoughts were short lived as Nanny spoke ..
“Clever girlie Crybaby that’s very well done But Nanny just fix you Properly” she pulled hard on the pulleys as I gasped as she pulled on the ropes, she kicked my legs each one in turn so I was spread further apart.
Then Nanny pushed at my inner thigh into the muscle? She picked something up sliding it under each knee, I felt her buckle a leather strap around my lower shin & thigh tightly! Then I heard a clicking sound ? Suddenly I realised what she was doing Nanny had fitted a mechanical spreader bar between my legs & was now spreading them wider ! I squealed loudly as a cramp hit...she then spoke to me “Relax sweetheart & it will pass cutie...she then wrenched the belt up two further notches having me Exhale to get them so tight ! The arm sleeve she put a belt from the collar that had five horizontal belts from around my arms pulling each one until my skin bulged from each I was now whimpering, but this was short lived as she barked at me “Open Wide Crybaby Sweetheart” As I did she fed cotton makeup pads into my cheeks pushed upwards & downwards between my cheeks and teeth !
Agin Nanny spoke to me “lift your younger cutie” she fed a pad each side of my tongue, then lifted a lime it had been cut top & bottom & now had a makeup pad top and bottom to cover each hole.
This she worked into my mouth, then once in she again “Keep your headie backwards looking at me Crybaby!”
She lifted the black rubber with the large stem from in ! ( This item I had made for her from a lorry inner tube, I had cut to fit me perfectly up under my lips & covering my gums, I had glued a foam oval to this that fitted into my fully opened mouth, then over this was glued a bicycle tube much thinner this caused a raised oval around 20mm out just beyond my lips. But the last part was an idea Nanny had when the gag would move sometimes..From a motorcycle tyre tube I had cut a lower jaw mask with a hole at the front for the valve, but due to the very little give in the inner tube this I had found was quite painful to have fitted & removed ! Nanny Was overjoyed the day we first tried it as after fitting it she kissed my cheek as a tear rolled down in Nanny had whispered into my ear there & then...”Crybaby Sweetheart I love what you have done so am going to reward you cute, with Spankings that baby will remember for days...she had not been kidding !) Next she put her knee at my neck holding my head...then spoke
“Here we go Crybaby Sweetheart have you missed your feeding gag ?..I didn’t get a chance to answer as she pulled the cruel rubber over my face it’s crushing force making its self known instantly ! Tugging it into place under my chin till it was just under my nose the rubber curved up the back of my head too a point at the back Then curved downwards too a similar point down my neck at the back !
Now smiling down at me she wound a 4” Wide vet wrap around my head at my mouth, then ran it over my lips & chin !  She stopped briefly to put small buds into my ears then a cotton pad over each ear she wound the Vetwarp over my head under my chin, then forehead, only my eyes & nose were now uncovered, pulling a roll of black electric tape she wound this over my mouth around my head then under my chin over head back up at an angle to the side of each nose crossing between my eyes, the wound around my forehead...I now had a black pvc tape hood !
She patted my New bound form & spoke...
“Much better Crybaby girlie....Ok let’s explain what’s going to happen cutenesses...Nanny is going to finish up with some preparation then she is going out for a while so that will give Baby time to reflect on her Naughty Lies !!!!
Then later Nanny is going to return with some very close friends she has just called to help with your punishment.....& Crybaby I assume you know what Nanny has put in your mouth ? (I gave a Ga’ga ..she giggled at this) Clever girlie so best keep still ...Try to rest cuteness as Trust Nanny You Are Going To Need It Fuck Toy !!!”...lifting the bag with the tube from it She screwed the tube to the valve from my mouth, the little clear rubber oval I could see was frozen..
Behind me I heard a Very familiar sound ! Nanny was peeing into a jug, this was poured into the bag, then Nanny chuckled at my whimpering...
She then simply closed the door enveloping me in darkness, knowing the warmth would soon melt the Ice Dam !!.....What had I done ?????
Suddenly my ears burst into life as I heard familiar Crying ! One of my old recordings ! Nanny loved to record me when I would “Break” then she would play this to me at nights as she slept ! As this made me Very emotional & ready to Cry at the smallest of things....Nanny loved Tears......Deep WKD tears of complete surrender to her will.........now alone I could smell my soiled nappy ..waste & urin filled the small cupboard I tested the bonds, perhaps I could get free as I was Now getting scared Remembering just how Wicked Nanny was......
As I panted in the bonds the bottom pad was getting wet, the lime juice now going to work my mouth started watering wetting All the makeup pads ! As they swelled up I had to swallow my saliva.
This part took great concentration to do so as not to choke! But Nanny had done this
many times until I could do this unsupervised, as I swallowed I could taste something else in the back ground not just the lime...? But was puzzled as my mouth was not yet filling from the piss bag ?
I burst out crying knowing what Nanny had done ..She had threatened me with this punishment but we had never actually carried it out !....Suddenly warmth spread into the wadding & I had to swallow slightly faster...I was now in NO doubt what Nanny had done to the lime !!!!!...I started crying as the recording stole my mind with subliminal messages of old.....
Three hours later I heard the front door then voices but the cupboard remained shut only occasionally could I hear sounds of laughter & banging noises.....a further hour & a half later the door opened....
“Well ladies this is Crybaby....she has been a Very Naughty girlie & Told Lies to Nanny so what do you think ladies shall we give her a Punishment she will remember for a Very long time ?....I heard a strange voice ...
“Crybaby Close those Naughty eyes tightly ! Now Pain Toy !!” Suddenly something was put over my eyes then pulled tightly holding my eyes still in some sort of cups !..
Then I felt the bindings being unfastened as another new voice spoke..
“Crybaby we are going to punish you So bad that You will beg us to be Obedient !!..Have you shit your nappy Crybaby !”....I was smacked very hard on the back of my thigh, even through my jeans it hurt ! As Nanny barked “ Answer Aunty Dee !!” ...I whimpered out a Ga’ga!! The voice spoke again....”Don’t fret Crybaby You won’t be shitting for a few days after we’re done Pain Toy !”
I heard them laughing...as Nanny put a collar & lead on me.....”Heal Pain Toy !....let’s get her prepared ladies !”...
I was tugged along on all fours !!....

Mariée Au Mal
REAL LIFE X DEVIL / WITCHES COUPLE: TBS X READER RATING: FLIRTY
Tumblr media
I walked the stone streets hearing my boots against the stone. Hearing the movement of my dress almost touching the stone. I felt the chill of the wind around me. The darkness crept across the village as the sun set beyond the hill. Every step I took I could hear and see, children being ushered inside, doors being bolted, windows being shut and locked. The whispers of the name they had given me. 'mariée au mal' I knew what it meant. I knew their assumptions about me. I tried not to think of it.
I looked at my shadow walking down the path with the light from the sunset, I looked to my left to a shop the blind already down, but a few shutters where someone peaked out, those instantly dropped as I looked and the door bolted I saw my reflection my long purple dress, black petticoats, black corset, my black hooded cloak, my tall riding boots, my twisted y/h/c hair and blood red lips. I continued on my way moving my wicker basket up my arm a little more, checking on the lavender and honey I had gathered across the forest this afternoon. I walked quickly trying not to draw attention to myself before reaching the graveyard and the little river that ran beside it, perched on the graveyard gate sat a raven it cawed at me so I smiled and offered my hand letting it perch on my ring as I walked over the little stone bridge over the river pushing open the little gate to my house. The twisted metal whining as I did I walked the sweet path through my garden until I arrived at my little thatched cottage with leaded glass windows and the conversatory. I smiled and headed inside my little house though the glass conservatory door putting my basket down emptying out my herbs and honey into my apothecary as the raven flew off into the house and perched on the sofa on his usual pillow
"Hello my little princess" he smirked
"Will you just. One damn minute" I told him
"What? What have I done?" He whines getting up and coming over fixing his clothes a little but I did my best not to look at him
"I'm working" I said
"Umm working? I think your just being mean to me" he smirked into my ear untying my cloak and pulling it off me "come in you can work anytime, I don't get to visit to much anymore, not half as often as I'd like my sweet little princess" he cooed cuddling me from behind "and I have missed you, so badly" he smirked almost growing in my ear as he pushed himself against my dress
"Thomas. Five minutes alright, you've been gone six months five more minutes isn't going to kill you" I laughed
"It might"
"Nothing kills you"
"Why? Are you trying to get rid of me?"
"No."
"Good." He says kissing my shoulder "I'm sorry I was gone so long."
"Umm" I said ignoring him
"Aww? Is that why your so grumpy with me?" He laughs before turning me around to face him as he stood in my conservatory his golden hair reflecting the sunsets light, his red textured button down shirt undone half way down his chest, his tight black almost leather pants against him, black braces or suspenders on his shoulders to keep them up even if I don't think he needed them, stubble gracing his chin and the corners of his upper lip but nowhere near as bad as I had seen before when he's been away for longer his hands around me softly his foot between my own "I told you it was work, you know I wouldn't leave my little princess unless I had to" he cooes caressing my cheek "it's a busy job you know, I keep telling you I'll... Take you with me if you want?"
"No thank you" I said turning back to my work "I wish you wouldn't wait there"
"Where? On the gate?"
"Umm. Why not in the garden?"
"You might not see me, besides I like them knowing I'm here"
"You might I don't. It makes them nervous and when people get nervous they get scared and when people get scared they do stupid things." I explained
"Well... Maybe they need a little fear in them"
"I don't want to be feared, Thomas..."
"Don't you?" He laughs sitting in my work bench so I had no choice but to see him "you get off on it"
"What?"
"Oh come on" he laughs "riding boots with the six inch heels? The long purple dress? The black corset? Blood red lipstick? Long black hooded cloak? And you're telling me you don't want to be feared? You love it"
"It's fun sometimes" I admit
"I know it is princess, maybe you and me should go walking in the town sometime really frighten them" he smirked
"No Thomas. We're in enough trouble as it is" I told him
"mariée au mal" he smirked to himself
"Shut up" I sighed
"It's a good name for you"
"I said shut up Thomas"
"Bride of evil"
"Married to evil"
"Depends on your translation." He shrugs
"Why did I marry you?" I asked leaning on my desk to slightly glare at him
"I don't know, you asked me remember" he smirked, kissing my cheek and jumping off the desk going into the cottage "you coming to bed? Or do I have to drag my pretty bride down to hell with me to fuck her?" He smirked,
I smiled as I laid in my bed listening to the wind in the tree's, the sounds of animals in the woods, the babble of the river under the bridge, the quiet of this peaceful little town. I could hear Thomas Gently breathing, his arm around my waist spooning me as he often did wanting to keep me safe in his arms so if I even moved much less left his arms he would know and it would wake him. I couldn't help my mind flooding with the memories of the first night I ever spend on his arms.
I was young, but old enough to know better. I would go and play by the tall willow tree in the forest. I would go and spend hours and hours reading books and gathering flowers. Often times I would speak to the tree and many times it would speak back to me. I had always been a woman on the darker side of the world. I liked the grim and the spooky, I had a fondness for the darkness and what often times lurked within it. I had always been wary of straying too far, never leaving a door open, never offering things without consistency, never going too far if you won't commit to it. Rules I followed like laws, until one night. It was a blood moon, it hung over the willow and that night I decided I wanted to see just how far I could go.
I made an altar at the willows roots, with candles, herbs, a salt circle, flowers, and tools. I called out things but nothing answered. Each time I called out going deeper and deeper until someone answered me.
"Hello, aren't you beautiful" he smirked as he saw me "not often I get such a beautiful woman calling out to me"
"I uhh i-" stuttered in shock
"Shh, it's alright. I guess you don't get answers very often. No need to worry, sweet girl. I won't hurt you"
"I seek what is to be" I said
"Do you?" He smirked "clever girl as well as beautiful. Are you sure that's what you want?" He asks
"Yes"
"Then a smart girl like you understands the price it takes"
I nodded and took the cage from my basket of the small bird I had found he laughed at me
"You have been misinformed" he says taking the cage and letting the bird loose
"Then what is the price?"
"The price is different for everyone."
"Then for me?"
"For you?" He smirked "I can give you what you seek. But for you beautiful lady, the price is simple. Your utter love and devotion, swear your life and love for me, be mine and you shall have all that you seek"
"How do I do this?"
"... Be with me. And swear your devotion to me" he smirked taking my hands
"Yes master" I nodded
"Whoa... Just Thomas little princess, I'm not your master, and I won't be. You'll be my bride, still happy?" He asked and I nodded "good. Now... We're all done with the formalities, shall we? my pretty little princess? My sweet little wifey?"
I nodded and he smirked looking at me, licking his tongue slightly across his bottom lip. He moved forward holding my Waist before leaning in and kissing me softly, he was warm, and soft, he tasted and smelt like ash, mahogany, petricorn and mint. He was gentle with me as he kissed me his thumb stroking my waist as we kissed in the moonlight, surrounded by the tree and it's leaves, the gentle breeze as the kisses got faster, deeper until he pushed me to gently laying me down on the grass in the circle of salt with him laid over me…
I woke up peacefully to the sweet symphony of bird song in the tree's. The gentle breeze whistling through the branches and leaves. The hushed sounds of the world before people rise. I was warm between the layers of my dress, one protecting me from the ground the other protecting my body, his arm around my waist his head nuzzled in my shoulder and arm fast asleep barely making a sound but his breaths. I looked seeing his sweet mop of hair nuzzled so close to me, looking up seeing the sunlight cascading through the tree as it rose, the sunlight peeking in through the leaves and branches.
"Uumm good morning" he yawns
"Hi" I blushed
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing"
"No, come on tell me"
"So… that's that"
"Aww what? Was I disappointing little princess?" He whines
"No, no. It's just that's it you know"
"Well, We’re married now”
“What?”
“We’re married. And mated.”
“So… I’m a real witch now” “You were a real witch before. But Now my bride”
“So? What are we going to uhh… going to do?”
“Well, I have to get to work soon. I’ll be down there for a couple of days but I’ll come back and snuggle up with my little wifey, I might not be home some nights. But it’s work. I'll always come back to my little princess, Like any husband and wife when a husband works away” He explained “So? Shall we head home?”
I stood in my conservatory, the sunlight flickering through the glass, Through the leaves of the forest, the stems and petals of the flowers that grew in here or in the garden, The flicker of rain bows where light flickered through the glass or though sculpted bottles of potions and viles, as well as though light catchers.
“Hey” Thomas smiled Leaning on my door to stare at me
“What?” I laughed
“Nothing, I just like looking at you” He shrugs
“Go Look at your pit of sluts”
“It’s not a pit. It’s a…. Box”
“Go look at that then”
“Why would I go look at them? When I have my wife?”
“Go hang out with one of your other wives then”
“What over wives?” he laughs
“I can’t be the only witch who summoned you and… let you, you know”
“Of course not. You’re my only wife princess.” He says
“What about all those other-”
“Shhh, You’re my only wife princess, and if I get summoned by any other little witches in the forest I send the demons. I only come when my wife summons me” He smirked giving my cheek a kiss cuddling me tightly and stroking my stomach “Besides. I’m going to be staying from now on, as much as I can now you have the baby coming” He cooed, kissing my neck and down my shoulder as he stroked my stomach “My beautiful princess, My Beautiful bride. I get to spend all day with you now, My pretty wifey and our baby”
“Sure thomas” I laughed “Maybe soon I’ll get to go down there?”
“You will, when the baby is born. My sweet little princess,” He cooed kissing my cheek

Bring Him Home Part 4 - PoppyCas
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
*****
Poppy
The ground crunched beneath my feet, and I shifted uncomfortably, rolling my eyes when Kieran nudged my side, still in wolven form, he fixed me with an unflinching stare. I leaned against a tree, closing my eyes for a heartbeat, allowing my nerves to harden while I waited for the shouts and clashing of steel that would alert us to Isbeth's retaliation. Still, even with the draken waiting alongside our forces, we would have to be quick, quick to get in, quick to find Casteel, quick to get out again, or we'd all be trapped inside. I glanced down at the marriage imprint of my palm, and flexed my fingers, I hadn't realized that I'd been fiddling with my ring, but I didn't have time to worry about the way it had slightly faded with the shouting that erupted around us. Flame lit up the evening sky, illuminating the silhouettes of draken in the sky, raining fire onto Ascended and revenants alike.
"Move," I whispered, slipping through the servants' tunnel into the castle before us. Without a candle to light the way, I was blind in the darkness, and I clung to Kieran's fur, forced to allow him to guide me through the gloom. He led me down, down, down, right into the bowels of the earth, where the sunlight had never reached, right into the depths of Isbeth's dungeons. A faint glow appeared at the end of the corridor, and Netta snuck forwards, leaving just Kieran and Delano by my side. There was a muffled cry, and a snarl, then Kieran was moving again, prowling forwards on silent paws. The cell block that the vampry had been guarding was empty, as was the next and the next and the next. With each empty cell, my heart raced faster and faster, with each second we were down here, we risked being trapped, we risked Casteel being hurt again, or worse.
A shout broke the silence, and we hurried forwards, ducking into an empty cell block, and pressing close to the door. Someone looked in, his gaze passing over our heads as we froze, hardly daring to breathe in case he heard it. If they found us now we would have no choice but to run, whether or not we'd actually found my husband.
"Nothing!" He shouted, "But there's got to be someone down here, Roland was unconscious," a second voice shouted something back, and Netta winced, but I couldn't quite make it out,
He said to leave it, to make sure that Casteel's guarded. Kieran's voice was strained, even in my mind, but at least we knew that Casteel was definitely here. As the footsteps faded, Kieran gestured to stay still, sneaking out silently to check if it was clear. It was, and he seemed to have found a scent, perhaps the man who had been searching for us would lead us straight to Casteel. It didn't matter if they were guarding him, if anyone tried to stop me from reaching my husband, they would not survive to report back to Isbeth. Another set of stairs appeared, winding down into the earth, my eyes only just managing to make out rough shapes in the gloom. I made to step forwards, but Kieran whirled, snarling into the darkness, at the holder of a candle.
Armed with bloodstone, well dressed, clean, I lifted my gaze from his weapons, looking higher, and my heart almost stopped, my promise sounding in my blood as I stared into Prince Malik's eyes. Her was the man who had betrayed his people, who had betrayed Casteel, who Isbeth had expected me to marry. My hand dropped to the dagger at my side, and Kieran stepped in front of me, Netta beside him, but Delano made to pull me away, but I shrugged him off,
"You've come for Cas," Malik whispered, tears in his eyes, "He's down there, last cell on the left." I blinked in surprise, not quite trusting his words,
"Anything down there?" A voice from the gloom,
"Nothing! They must have gotten lost," Malik shouted back, immediately shifting his demeanor back to the one I recognized from Oak Ambler, "Let's do another sweep of the upper levels, no point in sending guards down here,"
"You would help us?" I whispered, the hand on my dagger relaxing slightly,
"Just get my brother out of here. Please. I can't help him while he's here, please, Penellaphe, just go." Those tears in his eyes were real, the pain in his voice, that was real, "From blood and ash, we will rise," he whispered, and slipped away into the darkness.
"Thank you," I whispered, and turned, practically flying down the stairs, taking them three at a time, sprinting down the damp corridor, and throwing open the last door on the left.
I let out a quiet sob at the sight before me. He was here, really here, but he wasn't.
"Cas?" I whispered, but there was no response, no response, because he wasn't just hurt, he hadn't just been denied blood, he was completely unconscious, had been that way for a while as far as I could tell. I dropped to my knees beside him, pulling his head into my lap, "C'mon, Cas, please," I whispered, his pain, his fear almost overwhelming my senses as I tried to combat the feeling of despair. I love you. I love you. I love you. I held him tight against me as my gift started to work, to heal the countless wounds adorning his body, the pain consuming his mind, but beneath it all, there was something else, chocolate covered strawberries, I reached for it, my eyes flying open as the decadent taste of toffee blasted through me. Hope. All this time, he'd had hope, hope for me, that I would get him out. "I'm here, Cas. I'm here, come back to me, please," tears dripped down my face, falling onto his as I held him tightly, sobbing again when his eyes finally opened, bright, brilliant, honey-colored irises met my gaze,
"Poppy?"
"Yeah, I'm here," I whispered, "We're gonna get you home, okay?"
"Am I dead? Dreaming?"
"No, Cas, no, I'm here, I'm really here." I pressed my lips to his forehead, "And I'm never leaving your side ever again, never, do you hear me?"
"How?" He breathed, struggling to rise,
"Malik. He saved our asses,"
"I hated him, I hated him, and he kept me alive, he fed me, Poppy."
"I know, I know," I muttered, glancing back to the door, Delano gestured outwards, and I nodded, "We've got to get out, do you think you can walk?" He nodded but, even with his injuries fading, the moment I pulled him to his feet his eyes glazed in pain. Something was really, really wrong, and I barely managed to catch him before he slumped into my arms. Delano was by my side in an instant, slinging Casteel's arm over his shoulders, and half-carried, half-dragged him out of the cell. I couldn't help, I couldn't even see once we'd climbed back up the stairs, blindly following behind Kieran as Netta shifted back to her mortal form to help Delano with Casteel. I had no idea where we were, where we'd come from, but Kieran knew exactly where he was going, I had to trust him to get us out, to get us home.
Light started to filter into the corridor, just a few more steps, just a few more steps until we could reach the others waiting just outside for us. I was still gripping Kieran's fur when he yelped, swaying on his feet, and crashed into me, knocking us both to the ground. Oh gods, that was an arrow protruding from his side,
"Get him out!" I screamed at Delano and Netta, "Get him out!" Kieran panted, struggling to his feet, but a second arrow slammed into his shoulder, sending him collapsing to the floor again. I lost control of exactly what I was doing, and simply reacted, throwing a shield of some sort up between us and the shapes emerging from the castle. The arrow in Keiran's side wasn't that bad, it was bleeding, a lot, but it didn't seem to have done too much damage, but the other one, the force at which it had slammed into him was too much, it was lodged in between his shoulder joints. The pain radiating from him was too much for a simple wound, and the fear, my heart stopped as I realized that the arrow must have splintered bone. "Shift," I muttered, "Kieran, shift." It was an order, nothing short of that, but he whimpered in pain at any movement, "Shift," I murmured again, numbing the pain as arrow after arrow slammed into my shield, distracting my attention. Kieran whined in pain again, but the next time I looked down at him, he'd shifted, and I pressed my hands against the wound in his side, trying desperately to stem the flow of blood. In a moment, Netta was beside us again, hauling Kieran backwards, and I made to follow them, but the moment that shield dropped, those arrows would be unleashed upon my people. I turned my attention back to the tunnel, to the people now concentrating on bringing that shield down. Revenants, a few Ascended with them, but mostly revenants. Without the draken, they would think themselves invincible, but it was the fire of the gods, not just the draken, that would bring them down.
"Poppy," Netta was almost at the end of the tunnel,
"Get back as far as you can. Get them out of here, I'll meet you soon." I didn't need the draken to kill the revenants, they used the fire of the gods, I was the fire of the gods, and that fire burned through my blood, erupting forwards towards my enemies. I was The Queen of Atlantia, standing between a brutal enemy and my people, I was the blood of the gods, I was a goddess, and I would not run any more, not now, now I was going to stand and fight for my people.

Seriously though, this is completely different to what I normally write and if anyone’s feeling at all bad about themselves, please don’t read this. Links to happy Grell stories in my masterlist 😂 Also, male pronouns for Grell as requested and a gender neutral reader.
EDIT; Part Two
❗️Warnings; aaaaangst, all the way through. Very sad. Blood/injury/violence. Death.
Masterlist
-
How. How could this possibly happen? Grell’s mouth was dry, his fingers gripping the dreaded black notebook so hard his knuckles were starting to turn white. This was some sort of mistake, right? Had to be. Because Grell had already been through so much, had barely managed to claw himself back from the edge of despair and had continued doing so through finding you - you couldn’t possibly go now. This was not your time.
-
“So where are we going now?” You were walking next to Ciel through the cobbled streets of London, Sebastian half a step behind. A recent string of murders were proving more trouble than they were worth and all you kept coming across were dead ends. The police force had really tightened their ranks around this case and were not giving the earl any more than the bare minimum of information, despite his position as the Queen’s Guard Dog.
“The authorities aren’t going to help us with this,” Ciel informed you gravely. “They appear to have lost their faith in me and as such are using it as an excuse to not cooperate. There is only one other person I know who will help us with this.” A few minutes later, you were standing in front of an out-of-the-way shop, the sign of which loudly proclaimed ‘Undertaker’. You raised a questioning eyebrow at Ciel, who dismissed your confusion with a light wave of his hand.
Sebastian held open the door for you both to enter and you thanked him as you walked through, ignoring the chill curling up your spine at the creaking of the old hinges. The room was so dark you could hardly see anything, but the earl didn’t seem concerned.
“Undertaker, are you here?” He called, glancing around for the man in question. As it turned out, you would be the one to almost collapse in terror when the coffin propped up on the wall behind you slowly swung open, revealing someone dressed as though he were attending a funeral standing inside it. Your reaction was enough to make him giggle, which Ciel simply tutted at. “We’re here for information about your most recent guests, the police are refusing to hand anything over.” After a good twenty minutes of trying to make him laugh, Sebastian finally succeeded and you were once again on your way, this time with both a lead and destination in mind.
The people you were chasing were a notorious circle of smugglers who excelled at their craft and whose organisation had been doing so for the last century. The people being murdered were those who had tried to escape from the ring, bound only to it by their predecessors’ decisions to join it. The circle dared not let them escape, lest they hand over any information to the authorities and disrupt the entire ongoing operation. Their current storage unit was hidden in an abandoned warehouse at the dodgy end of the Thames, nestled between two disused docks. It was perfect really - they could take a boat by night to pick up and drop off their goods and nobody was any the wiser. Not until now, at least. But your downfall came in not realising they had their own network of eyes and ears.
The warehouse was empty when you got there; no smuggled goods, no people who were smuggling them. Not so much as a scrap of paper to be used as evidence. You had split up to search the main floor, you insisting that Sebastian stayed with and protected Ciel, given that you were something of an old hand at this. Pistol in hand, for precaution’s sake, you carried out your search quickly and efficiently. You found nothing of any interest, until you came across several large stacks of crates. They secluded you from the rest of the warehouse, but you were so intent on finding something to help further the investigation that you didn’t even think about it, certain the whole place was empty. But oh how wrong you were.
In a split second, an entire stack of wooden crates fell forward, more than enough to crush you to death had you been any slower in jumping out of the way. On your hands and knees and breathing heavily from shock, you crawled back to your feet only to let out a strangled whimper of pain. Searing agony was pulsing through your lower back and you were hardly able to look back over your shoulder to see the face of your assailant. The man, dressed all in black with a piece of material covering his face forced the knife further in until you both heard something crack sickeningly. With that, he let go of the hilt and watched you collapse to the ground, body twisted helplessly and incapable of doing anything more than wheeze in pain, desperately trying to fill your lungs with air that didn’t want to come. Your mouth was filling with blood even as you weakly tried to spit it out, your vision starting to distort. You just had to hold on a bit longer, just until Ciel got here and caught the man, no doubt one of the smugglers…
When butler and earl had heard the almighty crash, they glanced towards each other for but a second before they started running towards the source of the noise, Sebastian ahead of Ciel. Ciel was fighting back a nausea that he didn’t want to admit to having at the thought that the noise had come from the direction in which you had gone.
You kept your eyes locked on the man for as long as you could, him doing to the same to you as he watched the damage he had caused slowly consume you. You had never felt so sick in your life. Grell meanwhile, was running as fast as his already inhuman speed could allow him too. He was not going to let you die, no matter what. You were too important, your death would be a loss to this world. To his world. He was not going to allow it.
You watched the man even as he turned tail to run, as he was met by Sebastian’s fist and help off of the ground by his throat. Ciel’s shattered whisper of your name was enough to bring tears to your eyes, should your body have been capable of producing them. Even Sebastian’s eyes were wide. You could imagine the state your back was in, but had you not, the look of horror and guilt rising in the boy’s, no, your boy’s eyes was enough to tell you. The earl couldn’t even put a hand to the wound to stem the blood flow; it was so deep and wide, so cruel, there wasn’t even a discernible area to apply pressure to. It took every ounce of concentration you had left to look up at Ciel, to try and convey through your eyes alone that you loved him, that he would be alright. There were tears in his eyes.
Just as you could feel your mind starting to fade, a shattering of glass managed to grab your attention once more. There was a blur of crimson, lighter than the patches of your own no staining the concrete around you, and a deafening screech as the perfect chain saw, the one Grell was so proud of, was dropped with its chain still whirring to the ground. The reaper’s hands were cupping your cheeks in seconds, wiping away the moisture your eyes had given out and trying to get rid of the rosy red, the red he loved so much on you, from your sickly face. It was hopeless and somewhere deep within his heart he knew it, but he wasn’t giving up yet. Your lips formed Grell’s name once, twice, but you were too weak for your voice to come out.
He was sobbing, teeth bared and face wrenched in agony and Sebastian and Ciel were there but he didn’t care, because it was you, it was his Y/N who was bleeding out before his very eyes and there was nothing he could do. He was a god of death and you were dying and there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t have gotten here any faster, couldn’t have punished his lungs or his legs or his heart any more than he already had and he had only seen that God forsaken To-Die list ten minutes previously, while he was thinking about which restaurant to take you to for this evening’s date night. His hands shook as he remembered the silly teddy bear he’d bought you only yesterday, the plush one holding a heart that had ‘I’ll love you forever’ embroidered on it in gold thread. It had been in his cupboard for a month now because he hadn’t been able to pick the right time to give it to you - he’d wanted it to be perfect.
“I got you a bear,” he choked out, watching the speed of your blinking become ever more lethargic. “It’s holding a heart.” A dry sob, a pale face slick with a stream of tears that wouldn’t stop coming, turning red as they mixed with your blood. “It - it says, ‘I love you’. I love you, Y/N, you know that, right? I-” He couldn’t breathe. His ears were ringing with white noise and the only real sound were your gargled breaths, each one taking less oxygen into your blood than the last. “Don’t go, Y/N,” he whispered out at last, voice coarse and rough but he didn’t care, because this was the last thing he was ever going to be able to say to you. “Please, please don’t go. I can’t.. I don’t know what to do without you. I’m nothing without you. Please Y/N- Y/N? Y/N look at me. Look at me. Sweetheart open your eyes, plea--” A whimper tore itself from the back of his throat as your hand went limp in his. Your chest no longer moved, your laboured breathing ceased; he heard your heart stop beating. That didn’t stop the raw, feral howl of pain the reaper gave as he curled his arms around your body, as he begged you to wake up. It was over. He barely registered the muffled sniffling of the boy crouched next to him, nor the way Sebastian for once held his tongue. One glance towards that wretched death scythe was enough to bring a burning fury to every fibre of his being.
“I will not,” he hissed out, hand subconsciously smoothing down your hair. “Not to you. There is not a being in this world or any other who could make me.” With that he reached into his pocket and drew out the black, leather bound notebook, opened it to random page and ripped it in two clean down the spine. “I will come back for you my darling,” he whispered before standing up, “I swear.” The reaper stooped down to haul his death scythe over his shoulder, allowing the gleaming chrome to get scratched as he dragged it for a moment against the concrete. It was barely a few minutes before he stormed into the office of one William T. Spears.
“Haven’t you ever heard of knocki - oh, Sutcliff, it’s you,” was the bored, uninterested greeting he was given and when he didn’t reply, the other reaper eventually looked up from his paperwork. “I’m listening, Sutcliff, what’s the-” he cut himself off abruptly. It wasn’t the fact that Grell was covered in blood, that was a fairly normal occurrence for those in collections. It wasn’t really even the scratched and bloodied paintwork of the scythe he cared so much about, though that added to the image. It was that Grell’s perfect makeup was flawed beyond repair, that his eyes were puffy and red in a way that only tears which truly hurt can cause, that his hair was tangled and his chartreuse gaze was wild with anger and defiance, fuelled onward by unadulterated agony.
“You monster,” he spat out, “you knew. You knew what they meant to me when you gave me that list, don’t you dare try to deny it. I knew you were cold and calculating, but how could you do this?” Grell was for once talking quietly, albeit with a growling quality, for he knew if he raised his voice now he could never stop. He didn’t give William a chance to respond. “Well do you know what? Enough’s enough. I quit.” Grell dropped the scythe on the desk, denting and splintering the polished hardwood surface and scattering the carefully organised piles of paper. He then picked up the book one last time and with a look of fury William thought even he couldn’t rival, Grell slammed it down on the free section of desk between his hands. As his former class and work mate left his office with tears flowing once again, the management reaper was left staring at a profile page, your smiling face looking past him and into the distance. The ‘uncollected’ stamp was still written next to your name, two drops of dried blood marring your death date.

Out of Time (15)
First/Last Read on AO3 Word Count: 6953
Previously: Dan went after Lancer but thankfully Danny flew in for the rescue. After their latest scrimmage, Lancer manages to save Danny and contact Tucker to put up the shield. Honestly - some very good friendship scenes with Tucker and Lancer.... with a semi-brutal fight in between. I suggest reading it before this.
Now: The final showdown? CW: Brutal fight, graphic descriptions of injuries, blood and ectoplasm up ahead. Please let me know what you think! Feel free to drop a reply or reblog whatever. Posting early cause I'm exhausted and will be equally so next week. Next chapter will be out on Sunday (link will be in the replies!)
Wind whipped at Danny's hair as he knelt on top of the last bits of his shield. He frowned, looking down at the glowing hand as it absorbed more energy. I have to do this he thought, watching his hand shake, the bruises on it a stark contrast to the ripped white gloves. Sighing, he pushed himself up; glancing at the last eighth of the shield that still protected the town. He closed his eyes, using the shield to look for his family in the chaos below. An image of Jazz, his Mom, Valerie and Vlad standing around talking greeted him. No sign of his Dad or Danielle. He wished he got to talk with them too. I'm still here, he thought to them. He sighed deeply, opening his eyes to scan the town. I'll come back.
A grim smile washed across his face as the Fenton Shield finally activated, pulsing through the town up and outward. It completed itself, protecting the town just inches below where he stood. They'll be safe now. He could hear the distant screeches of the shadows being pushed out of the town, the roars of the Far Frozen as they charged forward to the outskirts. He turned to the outer rim of the shield, scanning the skies for Ethelwulf and Sam. Eventually he found the large winged wolf spiralling through the air and cutting through the shadows, making them disappear. Ethelwulf stopped spinning and a small figure landed on his back. Danny chuckled fondly as the figure shot through five ghosts, making them explode and disappear. At least they're okay.
A roar of anger brought him out of his musings. His green eyes found Dan quickly; the future Phantom was clawing at the shield with vigour, red eyes burning with anger and destruction. Danny watched at a distance, stone faced, as Dan continued to attack the shield.
Danny had once asked Clockwork how he could face what he was. He had been naïve then- how could he not face him. All the guilt, fear and self-doubt he felt stemmed from how he saw his future.
A future that will never exist again.
Suddenly he felt determined, feeling green ecto-energy dance around his aura. He glared at the angry spectre, waiting in anticipation until Dan noticed him.
It didn't take long; Dan stopped his onslaught, turning slowly toward his younger self. Blue flames danced in the air as red eyes bore green. The dark clouds overhead swirled, rumbles of thunder off in the distance. On some level, Danny recognized the sign of an Ecto-Storm brewing.
Dan smiled crudely, looking across the shield to his prey. The hatred and loathing for the other almost suffocated them both.
They flew at each other at the same time, clashing with an explosion of green energy above the city.
:-=-:
"It was his idea," Tucker relayed, his breathing was laboured. "If Ethelwulf and Sam are out there, they're going after him. I-I didn't want to do it."
Maddie sighed, looking toward her companions with unease. Jazz sat aboard Valerie's sled, eyes darting over the mother's face for some kind of clue to what was going on. Valerie's expression was unreadable, looking forward to the town and pretending Plasmius didn't exist. The ghost in question looked above, a concerned frown directed at what was left of Danny's shield. "I know Tucker," she told him gently. "We're headed over to the edge now; get some of those Shadow Ghosts out of the way before going after him."
"I'll meet you there," Jack replied instantly. "Danielle and I can fight through the Northwest and meet you. Danny's not going in there alone."
Maddie smiled. "No, no he isn't" she agreed.
"Mrs. Fenton," Tucker started, and then paused. He sighed deeply before he continued. "Do you… do you have a thermos with you?"
Maddie frowned at the question and then mouthed the word 'thermos' to Jazz. Jazz gave her a quizzical look before holding up the object in question. Valerie bristled as she looked in their direction. Plasmius' concerned frown now looked to Maddie. "Yes, Jazz does."
"If… if you see Danny, suck him in," Tucker said quickly, guilt bubbling through his voice. Maddie made a noise of protest but Tucker cut across her. "He's hurt - he's hurt bad Mrs. F. We need to get him back to FentonWorks and I'm not confident my shield will let him in without being in there."
Maddie paled at his words.
Jazz frowned worriedly. "Mom, what is it? What's wrong?"
"How bad," Jack whispered. Maddie couldn't find her voice.
"Like he should have keeled over five hours ago bad."
"Danielle said something happened to his core," Jack said worriedly. "Mads, you have Plasmius there right? He may know."
Violet eyes glanced in Plasmius' direction. "What's wrong with his core?"
Jazz gasped, Valerie's eyes narrowed as Vlad looked sombrely at the woman. "I don't know," he replied softly. "But he's stuck as Phantom for the time being. His core energy is keeping him there."
Maddie gasped softly, hearing Tucker swear and Jack make a pained noise.
The shield shook as something attacked it overhead. Maddie pursed her lips as she looked above. "What are Ecto-Enhancers?" she asked the half-ghost, bringing her eyes back to him in the process. She barely heard Tucker's brief explanation to Jack.
Vlad frowned at the question before looking exasperated. "He didn't tell you?" he asked instead. He sighed when a glare met his eyes. "Basically a power up of energy - I gave them to Daniel so he could heal faster if he needed to. He's taken at least one. It's working, albeit slowly."
Maddie frowned, running through calculations in her head. Valerie scowled in his direction.
"Didn't you also say that Phantom was flying into battle while juiced up?"
Plasmius flinched under the hard glare Jazz and Maddie gave him. "They're not steroids girl; they're like an energy drink. I'm sure you've frequented them with your extra-curriculars." Valerie growled in response. "But yes, he is."
Maddie sighed, locking eyes with Jazz worriedly. "You know him best Jazz. What's his next move?"
Jazz frowned in thought. "He's going back out there," she said. "Like I said, Dan's jealous of Phantom - meaning Dan's going to be acting irrationally." Her eyes widened. "We need to focus on the shadows Mom; I think with the amount of duplication and shadows his mind is weakening. He's definitely slowing down. If Danny can outsmart him, he might have a chance."
Maddie nodded in consent, looking toward the perimeter of the Fenton Shield again. She glanced at Plasmius. "Will he hold out until then?"
Plasmius scoffed. "If I know anything about that boy, he won't back down easily," he said with fond bitterness. "If we act quickly, he'll be more likely to succeed."
Valerie watched their reactions slowly, fully realizing that she did not know as much as she thought she did. The Fentons had a truce with Phantom, they knew about Vlad but they all can't care about this ghost that much?
"Fine! Destroy ghosts! But can you really take part in destroying a human?"
Her eyes widened at the memory, gaze resting on Mrs. Fenton and Jazz with a thoughtful frown. Did they know he was half human too?
"Hey! What about the Fentons?! Phantom had asked her.
Valerie laughed, inspecting one of her weapons. "Are you kidding?! Before your truce, they couldn't catch a ghost if it was living under their own roof!"
The ghost boy's eyes furrowed slightly, a small twinkle in his eye before he responded. "True."
"We'll find our boy," Maddie vowed softly to Jack on the line. "We'll find Danny."
Valerie's eyes widened further, a small gasp escaping her lips as her eyes darted upward. She called him Danny, she thought widely. The pieces clicked quickly in her mind, guilt and horror rising within her.
Where's he running off to all the time?
"You really risked your neck to save that Fenton kid." Valerie found herself smiling at her Dad's comment. "Yeah. I like him a lot. Maybe even enough to give up ghost hunting."
It was eating her to say it, Danny didn't deserve this. "I've had a lot of fun these last few days, but my life's way too complicated right now for us to be anything other than... friends." He stammered out in disbelief before she pushed through. "There's something important I have to do and I don't want you to get hurt because of it." She wasn't going to let Danny Phantom ruin anyone else's life.
"Are you kidding?! Before your truce, they couldn't catch a ghost if it was living under their own roof!"
I know you, don't I?
A huge explosion of green energy made them all jump, eyes glued to the sky above them. "Danny…?" Valerie breathed. Danny Fenton. Danny Phantom. Guilt filled her chest, realizing for the first time how wrong she had been.
She barely heard Jazz whisper his name behind her. The world as at a standstill, her green eyes watching as two figures clashed overhead.
"Valerie?" She jumped, looking down to Jazz's worried face. The red head's eyes scanned Valerie's face, grimly noticing the silent distress the teen hunter was in. Jazz sighed, shaking her head. "Let's go."
:-=-:
Sam landed gracefully on Ethelwulf's back, watching as more of the shadows explode with a satisfied smirk. "Nice catch Ethelwulf," she said to the ghost. She felt his laugh before she heard it.
"Nice shooting," he replied back. His yellow eye looked back toward her. "The shield's up." An unspoken request passed between them; the ghost flew upward, gliding in the air as Sam looked behind them. Four shadow ghosts gaining on their tail. She made move to shoot, but with a battle cry Skulker crashed into two of them, dragging them below. She shot at the other two as Ethelwulf levelled himself in the air.
Her eyes darted over the shield, anxiously searching until she found him. "Danny," she breathed, relaxing as she saw him standing above the shield. Ethelwulf looked down hastily, yellow eyes scanning the shield below also. "He's okay!"
"Sam," Ethelwulf replied seriously. "He's not alone."
The girl stiffened, skimming the shield again until she saw the other ghost at the shield. Dan and Danny were staring at each other, the air thick with tension as they watched the other's move. Sam frowned as thunder rumbled overhead. He wouldn't…
"I will do whatever it takes to protect the people I care about."
Sam's breath hitched in her throat. He would. "We need to get down there," she said hurriedly. Ethelwulf dove as a reply. Sam grabbed his fur tightly, silently willing him to go faster. He obliged, just as both Phantoms took flight, ecto-blasts at the ready. "No!" she cried, watching with dread as they collided, the shockwaves of the collision blowing back and blocking them from interfering. Ethelwulf grunted, black wings flapping against the wind and stopping him from losing control.
"I'm alright," he assured before Sam got to ask. His normally calm voice was tight with anger. They watched from above as both Danny and Dan flew at each other, equally matched as they traded blows.
The Phantoms moved quickly, neither seemed to notice when an ecto-blast struck their bodies. They rushed forward, both trying to inflict some blow to weaken the other.
Ethelwulf frowned as blue electricity hit into a blue flamed punch. "I don't think he can keep this up for much longer."
Sam bit her lip, watching anxiously as they finally bounced back, floating with chests heaving. Ethelwulf was right; they needed to stop this soon…before… "Can you get close to them?"
Ethelwulf turned his head to her. "I can try, but the amount of power they're using will make it difficult. It's going to be a bumpy ride."
Sam charged the bazooka and turned on her wrist ray. "Let's do this."
Ethelwulf charged with a roar, attempting to get closer as the shockwaves pushed back again. Sam braced herself, taking aim at Dan. Suddenly, they were bombarded by the shadow ghosts, blocking their path as they lunged. Sam gasped, extending her arm and firing her wrist ray, hitting a few. Ethelwulf dove, attempting to lose them but they followed, their low screeches of anger echoing under the explosions of the Phantoms. Sam fired wildly, ignoring how her stomach turned at the sudden descent and speed. They needed to get to Danny.
Ethelwulf glided in the air, growling before he charged for the ghosts again, waves of ecto-energy flying back against them. Sam hit the remaining and soon they were free of them. She let out a small sigh of relief before she turned, coming face to face with more of the shadows. "I'm all about the dark and creepy," Sam yelled frustrated as she fired. "But this is getting ridiculous!"
Ethelwulf and Sam readied themselves before hearing a whine of a guitar, two guitar chords and watched as two giant fists rammed into their nearest foes. Sam looked up and recognized Ember's fiery blue hair, smiling smugly above her.
"Can't let you have all the fun," she said, turning her guitar dial up idly. "Besides, I want some pay back. That clown isn't the only one with an army!" Ember whistled, and up flew many of the ghosts hiding in Amity; Sam recognized Box Ghost, Dora, Wulf as they charged too. She looked up at the floating ghost and nodded in thanks. Ember scowled, scanning the crowd. "Just get the ghost kid - I don't do 'I owe yous'!"
She didn't need to be told twice. "Let's go," Sam muttered to the wolf ghost. He raced upward again, towards the top of the shield as the she heard the crackling electricity of the ecto-blasts. Then all too suddenly, it stopped. Sam paled at the eerie quiet it left behind. Ethelwulf reached the top not long after to find no trace of either Phantom. "Ethelwulf…" Sam said, trailing off.
An explosion away from the city caught both of their attentions. Sam frowned, watching the brilliant green light up the forest, bringing down some of the trees. "They teleported," Ethelwulf said quietly.
They stayed only a moment longer, watching the Far Frozen soldiers race out into battle before they took off after the Phantoms.
:-=-:
He didn't realize they had teleported until his back crashed into a tree.
Danny gasped as he shot upward, dodging a glowing green hand as it swiped from where he once was. A snarl from behind him was the only indication that he was being followed. Danny's hand lit up in green, wildly throwing ecto-blasts at Dan as he flew faster, white hair whipping back.
A ball of blue flames narrowly missed him, making the teen hiss involuntarily as he started to zigzag. Eventually he flipped in the air, his hands a blue-white as two electrical ice blasts aimed directly at Dan hit his mark. Both Phantoms stopped, glaring at each other from across the sky.
Their battles were nothing compared to the sheer desperation to win that currently encompassed every ounce of their bodies. Out of breath, Danny quickly assessed Dan; the evil Phantom was panting, red eyes manic with repressed rage. His suit was tattered, revealing small injuries that he got through their scuffle. Some part of him felt relieved that Dan no longer had the upper hand. Green eyes glanced briefly to the flash of green lightning above, frowning slightly as Dan smiled. Dammit.
Danny barely had time to throw up a hasty shield as Dan teleported in front of him. In one quick movement, the older Phantom punched straight into Danny's shield, pushing the boy backward in the air as it broke. Wasting little time, Dan's hand glowed green with small knives of ecto-energy, stabbing the boys injured leg as he pulled Danny toward the ground. Dan's hand moved down his leg, a trail of ectoplasm in its wake.
Danny bit back scream as Dan brought them toward the ground at an alarming speed. Ignoring all logic, his right eye turned blue, releasing a small ectoplasmic pulse from his core. Dan cried out, letting go as both Phantoms losing control in the air. Shaking his head, Danny regained his bearings, flying at Dan with icicles at the ready. One managed to pierce Dan's shoulder, the older howling in pain. The icicle melted just as Danny tackled him to the ground.
Danny staggered upright, faltering as he stood on his bad leg. He managed to roll further from the downed evil ghost, trying and failing to stand again.
Dan was faster on his feet; he groaned but flew up. He hovered as red eyes darting around looking for his prey. Once found, Dan threw his arm outwards and blasted Danny into the trees behind him with a yelp. The impact of the boy hitting the last tree broke it as he slid lower to the ground.
He tried to voice a small ow, but winced heavily as a set of sparks danced through him. He moved as quickly as he could, grimacing again as he tried to stand. He needed to keep moving, he needed to find Sam and Ethelwulf, he needed -
"There you are." Dan's voice fluttered from above him.
He needed to fight.
Breathing heavily, Danny gripped the tree trunk as he pulled himself upright. Taking inventory of his powers, he realized with disdain that he couldn't keep this up much longer. He had seen what would happen next; he was out of time.
Thunder and lightning rumbled through the sky as Danny met Dan's glare. "You told them." Dan stated coldly.
"I thought we were over that," Danny said sardonically, running his hand through his hair. He winced slightly as he touched a new bruise forming. "Remember - the part where you threw me like a Frisbee into the school?"
Dan growled in response. More lightning above them. Danny frowned, watching the lightning move through the clouds. It was different than last time.
"What's so different about you, Danny?" Dan asked darkly. "Why did Clockwork try so hard for you? Why do our parents get to accept you?"
He was slightly taken aback at the question, brow furrowing as too many thoughts crossed his mind at once.
Dan scoffed at the lack of an answer. "You're still the same selfish asshole that I was," he said. "They died because of you."
Danny had heard it all before - it had been a running commentary in his mind for the better part of a year… and yet something in Dan's tone had him shaking his head. "No," he replied in a low voice. It was a simple answer, and as soon as he said it, there was none of the guilt or anger for himself left in him from the alternate timeline. Dan's face contorted in rage as more lightning streaked across the sky. "No."
Before Dan could react, Danny teleported; disappearing from Dan's wrath to get some sort of distance away. He dropped out of the air, faltering again and took inventory in his surroundings. He had reappeared in the destroyed clearing from their first battle earlier in the day. It's far enough.
Danny heard Dan's roar over the thunder that rumbled overhead. He braced himself, ignoring the throbbing pain of his left leg as he planted himself in place just as Ethelwulf taught him. Dan landed across from him with force, creating a crater around him.
"I'm not done with you boy," Dan snarled, red eyes glowing menacingly. "I want to know what makes you so special that you changed my destiny?"
"Your Vlad is showing," Danny sassed before he could stop himself. "Destiny? Really? You made a choice dumbass. I made different ones." His green eyes glowed in retaliation. "We're not the same, not anymore."
Something in Dan broke. "YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS!" he roared, green ecto-energy whipping up around him. Green eyes snapped at Dan's feet, finally confirming that Dan's Ecto-Storm was coming. "What are you anyway? Human."
Danny's eyes narrowed, feeling his own deep raw energy itching to be released too. This was his last card left to play, and if he timed it right, he could finish this.
"So you're saying raw energy is basically a bomb waiting to go off at any point?"
If it didn't finish him first.
"Actually," Danny said coolly, watching as Dan's entire body shake with emotion. "Yeah, I am. And my friends? My family? They're alive because of it."
An inhumane growl escaped Dan's throat, red eyes shining brightly as green energy whipped around him. Danny's face was grim as he watched Dan's Ecto-Storm finally manifest, interacting with the clouds above. Dan's body was encased in the swirling vortex of energy, his animalistic noises becoming more feral as a red version of the Phantom emblem appeared at his feet. Violent whips of energy tore trees from roots around. Red eyes found green and with a yell released strong waves of energy toward the boy.
Danny was ready for the attack - his right eye turned blue; emblem appeared at his feet in a burst of light, a large shield blocking the onslaught.
:-=-:
Tucker swallowed as the he watched the screens helplessly. Danny and Dan had disappeared into the forest again, the large mass of ecto-energy following. He saw the signs, and hoped desperately for two things; for Danny not to be so stupid, and for Danny to be the one actually creating the storm. The alternative was too scary to imagine.
Clockwork grunted, gripping his staff as the entire lab turned toward him. Tucker frowned, abandoning the console to head toward the Time Master. "What is it?" he asked. When Clockwork made no inclination to answer, Tucker sighed. "It's Danny isn't it? He's the one stopping time?"
Clockwork looked up, red eyes glancing over the teen like he was seeing him for the first time. "We're nearing the paradox," he said gravely, nodding his head. "I can no longer see the present, only the past. The effects of the Time Medallion are affecting him now."
Another flash of light appeared on the screen. Tucker didn't look at it, teal green eyes staring into Clockwork's. "How long?" Tucker asked evenly.
Clockwork did glance at the screen, watching as some of the buttons stopped flashing and then continue at random intervals now that Tucker wasn't at the console. Time was stopping at random.
"Now."
:-=-:
The lightning made it difficult for them to follow by air. Ethelwulf dove into the forest, flying through the trees as he scanned the area for either Phantom.
Sam was stiff on his back, doing the same. She looked up at more of the green lightning danced across the sky. "Ethelwulf," she whispered. Danny wouldn't use the Ecto-Storm like this… would he?
"It's not his," Ethelwulf said quietly.
Her fear only grew at his confirmation. "Dan - Dan has it too!?"
"Clockwork had said Dan used in the last clash these two had," he explained quickly. "Though never to this extent. I'm sure Danny's wail surprised him enough catch him off guard. Danny has the element of surprise again."
Sam bit her lip. "He's hurt."
Ethelwulf flew faster. "I know," he replied. He glanced at her briefly. "I told him I would not let him die. We need to get to him before -"
A giant swirling mass of ecto-energy interrupted him, stopping them in their tracks. Sam gasped as an Ecto-Storm appeared before them.
"Shit," Sam bit out. She reloaded a Fenton Bazooka hastily, watching as power whipped around them. "Ethelwulf we have to hurry."
The wolf ghost took off again.
:-=-:
"NO!" Dan bellowed, shaken as he watched his younger self push back against the attack. Danny ignored him, stopping the raw energy from attacking. "How!?" His disbelief fuelled his anger, which in turn fuelled the attack more.
Danny grunted, pushing back against the attack as lightning tried to strike him from the sky. Everything hurt. Everything. The raw energy that now flooded him was only just holding Dan at bay. Focus he told himself. Focus on that line between life and death. Find the balance. Electricity sparked from his shield as he poured energy back into it. If he wanted to survive, he needed to remember his training.
"You can't have this power!" he heard Dan yell over the strong crackles of electricity and howls of the wind. "This is mine. You don't get to have it all!"
Was this what Clockwork warned me of? He thought, ignoring the now burning pain from his side; old wounds started to open again. Is this all I can do? Danny shook his head, gritting his teeth. No, he could do more. He had to do more.
He was tired – run ragged from the day's fights. Danny couldn't let Dan win - it wasn't an option.
Promise me you'll win.
Sam's voice echoed in his mind, reminding him of his promise. She had asked him to come back alive.
He had to try.
Danny let his own powers push outward, feeling not only raw but core energy expend out of him. His aura glowed, ecto-energy swirling around his feet now as it encased him. With his Ecto-Storm released – pain shot through Danny's entire being as electricity from his core mixed in. He faltered slightly before digging in his heels, releasing his own streams of raw blue-white energy toward Dan. He still had control - he could still win.
"The things you need to fight for? That makes you more dangerous too." Ethelwulf had told him that… it was time he believed it.
Their attacks clashed in the middle, both streams of energy pushing back against the other as both Phantoms fought for dominance. Dan was lost in a sea of rage, snarling madly at the young teen with such malice. Danny kept his attack focused, pushing forward, sheer determination and will driving him far beyond his limit.
"Danny!"
Focus broken for a slight moment, he turned at the fear filled voice as Sam and Ethelwulf flew forward from the cover of trees. Even from a distance, Danny could see the terror on her face.
Unfortunately, so did Dan. With a wicked smile, he turned, arm outstretched in their direction. A wave of blue flames and green ecto-energy flew toward them. Ethelwulf stopped advancing, bringing his wings together and shielding them both from the onslaught. Dan laughed, a twist between sadistic and manic laughter as his powers grew, anger and resentment pushing the storm outward toward the town.
Danny's eyes darted to Amity Park, to Ethelwulf and Sam and then back to his older self. Dan had lost sense of control, fully engulfed in the ecstasy of his raw energy. There was no way her could protect them all.
Danny felt himself fading, knees threatening to buckle. I can't win this he thought hopelessly.
You can.
The world slowed drastically, the ecto-energy dancing in the wind. Danny knees gave way, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. He looked up and a translucent figure of himself - his human self - stood before him, smiling gently.
"You can do this," Fenton assured. His Ecto-Storm still flowed outward, beautifully painting the world around them with blue, white and green light in slow motion. "What do you want from all this?"
Sam had asked him the same thing earlier. "I can't… I'm not enough…" he said breathlessly. He shook his head. I'm going to die.
Fenton scoffed. "You are," he said fiercely. "You're just afraid to admit it. Danny, you have the power to stop this. You've had it for a year now. You can finally end this." A translucent hand reached out to him. "So let me ask you again: what do we want?"
Danny stared at the offered hand, his mind racing. Fenton looked slighted bemused, watching his counterpart with mismatched eyes. He didn't fear Dan. He didn't even fear himself.
Danny feared power - and what that power would do to him.
To move forward, he needed to embrace Ecto-Storm.
A look of purpose washed across his face as he grabbed the hand, staggering upright. Thoughts of Frostbite and his people, Ethelwulf, Clockwork, Jazz, his parents, Tucker and Sam filled him to the brim, one common theme shaking him to his core. What did he want?
Phantom and Fenton both turned toward Dan, eyes narrowing in determination. "Ready?" he asked Fenton, thinking back to their conversation in his bedroom.
His human half nodded, a small grim smile on his face. "Ready." He confirmed.
Their eyes glowed as time started again. Fenton disappeared, leaving Danny alone within the Ecto-Storm of his own creation. He let his powers flow freely, giving in to the instinctive use of his power, the one he never felt ready to use. His eyes glanced over to Ethelwulf's determined yellow eyes, protecting him and Sam from the onslaught of the ghosts. His shield was holding. Briefly, his blue- green eyes managed to find a pair of fearful violet eyes behind the shield. I'm sorry.
Dan roared, getting the younger Phantom's attention once more. Dan took off in the air, flying at Danny's Ecto-Storm with drive. Danny felt the will of Dan attempting to get to him; slicing through his attack with force. Danny pushed back, watching as Dan's Ecto-Storm battle with his; fire and ice trying to hurt the other.
Danny felt something stir in his core, painfully reminding him of the first time he used this power. He was afraid then; he wasn't anymore. His pupils disappeared, blue and green ecto-energy shining brightly as electricity and ice joined the battle, pushing his emblem outward to rival Dan's. The older Phantom clawed at Danny, beyond reason as he attempted to get to the teen. Blue flames danced at his feet as the two storms started to merge.
What did he want?
Dan made it through Danny's defences, flying to the centre with a vengeful smile. Danny's breathing was too loud in his ears now, realizing it was time.
To see his friends and family alive.
To win.
Danny's eyes shone brightly as the world turned white.
Scorching heat and bitter cold danced around them…
Dan's shocked face just as he reached Danny, arm reaching for the boy's chest…
…The world exploded in pain…
…An explosion…
…Darkness…
:-=-:
Sam gasped, bringing her hands up to shield herself from the bright white light. The explosion pulsed outward, levelling trees and sent small shockwaves throughout the area. Ethelwulf sunk to the ground, breathing hard as the explosion died down.
"Ethelwulf!" Sam cried, looking at the large black wolf.
"I'm alright," he replied, yellow eyes finding her worried ones. "Are you?" She nodded, silently marvelled at Ethelwulf's power to still have his shield around them. "Good," he said softly, standing slowly. "That's …" The ghost trailed off, looking away from her to the destruction beyond her.
Sam followed his gaze, gasping slightly. Debris was everywhere, Sam noticed, as she watched the remnants of the Ecto-Storm disappear. The ground was broken, split apart from the raw power from the fight, the tree trunks cracked and half and blue fire patches danced around large figures of non-melted ice. Sam's eyes scanned the battlefield before she saw it; Danny's emblem, still alight, was shrinking slowly... but her best friend was nowhere in sight.
Dan's red emblem was completely gone.
"Danny," Sam whispered, dread settling into the pit of her stomach. She started running long before she realized Ethelwulf was calling her back. "Danny!" she yelled, hoping he would answer. Her voice echoed in the eerie silence. Sam ran, jumping over tree trunks, occasionally tripping over roots as she tried to find him. It took a few minutes, but she found him just as his emblem finally disappeared.
She paused for a moment, horrified as she took in his appearance from a few feet away.
Danny, still miraculously in his ghost form, lay on his side, limbs askew. Even from this far away, she could see the amount of sickly green ectoplasm that he was covered in. Swallowing the bile in her throat, Sam continued running, faster from before. Once close, she skidded on her knees, slowing her speed and scrambled to him. "Danny," she croaked, eyes wide and disbelief.
He was worse than the last time she saw him. There was a nasty bruise on the side of his head; multiple small cuts up and down his body that made his skin seem even more other worldly than normal. The purple handprint bruise on his neck was more visible now, burned and varying shades of blue. His jumpsuit was ripped across his left shoulder, which appeared to come out of his socket, showed magnificent bruises and large burns from an earlier fight. His left leg was covered in ectoplasm, long gashes from his calf to his knee.
He was barely breathing.
Anything the ecto-enhancer managed to heal had reversed in the last fight. Sam looked down, alarmed at that realization and instinctively put her hands on Danny's side. The injury had reopened, gushing large amounts of ectoplasm. He shuddered beneath her, wheezing erratically.
"Come on Danny, stay with me!" Sam said to him hysterically. She brought one of her hands to his face, smearing it with his own ectoplasm. "You aren't dying today – you promised." No answer. "Eth-" Sam tried to yell, coming out in a half sob. Sam took a deep breath, swallowing the lump in her throat before she tried again. "Ethelwulf!" Sam yelled desperately. She felt a rush of air as Ethelwulf flew to her, hovering slightly before landing.
"Danny," he said gravely, concerned yellow eyes taking in his appearance before coming closer.
Sam paid him no mind as he started inspecting his lower body. "Danny, come on," she said worriedly, trying to rouse the boy in front of her. His face scrunched, shallow wheezing breaths becoming more pronounced. His eyes fluttered, opening ever so slightly.
Sam sighed as she looked down at his electric green eyes. "Thank goodness," she breathed. Her smile fell when she realized his eyes weren't registering her. "Danny?" The fear came back to her in full force in that moment. "Danny, can you hear me? You did it, it's over." The girl turned to Ethelwulf helplessly. "Help him! We can't –" her voice broke in a dry sob as she finally realized the gravity of the situation through her shock.
"We're going to need to move him," Ethelwulf said quickly, curling his body around the two teens. "Sam, keep pressure on that wound, we need to keep him as Phantom for as long as we can. He's losing too much ectoplasm; if he transforms and it turns to blood, I'm not sure if I can save him."
Sam's eyes widened but nodded, holding her hands tighter against his wound. Danny made a raw, strangled noise as he continued to wheeze through the pain. The white ring of light appeared at his waist but sputtered out of existence quickly.
"Hang on!" Ethelwulf said, glowing in a golden light. The next thing Sam realized, they were over Amity Park on Danny's shield staring down the Ghost Shield. He closed his eyes and sighed. "We need to take down the shield!"
Sam shook her head. "No, they were supposed to put his ecto-signature in it," Sam said distractedly. "We don't have time." Danny's arm fell onto his shield limply, the ring of light appearing again at his waist, lingering over him. It didn't move. "Danny no!" she yelled, turning his face toward her. "Hold on okay? Just-Just a little more."
Ethelwulf growled. "I can't teleport us in – it means that they're blocking one of our ecto-signatures. Last I heard, they still couldn't separate Danny's from the Dark Phantom's."
Sam looked down at Danny, swallowing in temporary relief as Danny managed to make his transformation stop again. Green sparks attacked his chest. "Tucker," Sam muttered, eyes widening. She kept one hand on Danny's wound while the other dug into the pocket of her jumpsuit. Crying out triumphantly, Sam found the Fenton phone she pocketed as she left the city. She stuffed it in her ear quickly, ignoring that it wasn't comfortable and moved her hand back to Danny's wound. She pressed down on in firmly, another strangled gasp escaping his lips. "Tucker!" she shouted into the small device.
"Sam!?" Tucker's surprised and relieved voice crackled in her ear. "Thank God! You took your damn time! If it wasn't for Danny-"
"Not now Tuck!" Sam said, cutting him off. "I need you to drop the Ghost Shield."
"Drop it?" he asked. A brief pause before Tucker pressed on. "Do you have Danny?"
Sam turned her gaze back to the boy in front of her. His blinks were slow. "He's… It's bad Tuck" Sam admitted, voice raw. "We need to get back to Fentonworks. Ethelwulf is standing by to teleport us."
"On it," was Tucker's determined reply. "It'll take me a few minutes. We'll be sitting ducks for Dan's forces, so be careful. We don't have Danny's shield like last time."
"As fast as you can Tuck," Sam urged. Ethelwulf nodded in understanding from her words. "Come on Danny," she whispered comfortingly to him. Another strangled noise came through his mouth. "A little longer. Then you can drop the shield. We'll be home soon, okay? Just stay Ghost for a little longer."
Danny shuddered again, closing his eyes. The wheezing became worse and Sam frowned.
"Ancients," Ethelwulf swore quietly. The word slipped out of his mouth like dirt. "Sam!"
Sam looked up in confusion and gasped. Before them, Danny's shield slowly started to repair itself, green electricity flowing through the solid parts of the shield before connecting. She looked down quickly, eyes glued to his hand on top of his shield. It shimmered green through his ripped gloves, green sparks moving through his forearm.
"Sam? What's going on?" Tucker asked anxiously through the Fenton phone.
"Dammit! Danny stop!" Sam pleaded, ignoring her friend in her ear. "Save your energy… please. You're hurt. Don't do this!" The shield continued to repair itself; he couldn't hear her. Sam swore. "Tucker, how much longer?"
"You should see it coming down any second," The teen replied swiftly. Sam could hear the determination in his voice. She wasn't the only one worried.
Danny's hand went limp as the shield finished repairing itself. Blue sparks now wracked the middle of his frame before they disappeared.
Sam only had to wait a very short second before she saw the signs of the ghost shield coming down. She breathed out a sigh of relief as she turned back to the half-ghost in front of her. Her relieved sigh turned to a startled gasp as she watched Danny's white hair turn slowly black and parts of his jumpsuit turning into his regular street clothes. "Ethelwulf!" Sam called to ghost in alarm. Green ectoplasm that stained her hands had turned red gradually and started gushing through her fingers; she hadn't realized the change. There was no ring, no flash of light as he reverted back. Danny Phantom seemingly faded away, leaving the body of Danny Fenton in his place.
"No…. nononono." Tucker's voice rambled through her ear. "Danny, no, stay with me okay?" She tried to get a rise out the friend currently bleeding out in front of her. He gave no inclination he heard her.
Ethelwulf was at their side quickly and with another flash of gold light, the smell of the Fenton's lab greeted Sam's nose. She blocked out the world around her; only focused on keeping pressure on Danny's wounds. She didn't have nearly enough hands; there was so much blood now. She very briefly heard Ethelwulf's cries for something, a flurry of movement as ghosts rushed forward. Lots of rushed whispers, a few barked orders, more blood on her hands. Suddenly, someone was pulling her off him.
"Get off me!" She said, fighting whoever was pulling her off the boy. She managed to elbow them in the gut but they didn't even cry out. "He's bleeding! I have to help -"
"Sam," Tucker's low voice was in her ear. She stopped; turned to lock eyes with her other best friend. Taking his chance, Tucker dragged her away, nodding to someone before swallowing. He looked like he was going to be sick. "Sam - they need to restart his heart."
What.
Sam looked at him with wide eyes, disbelieving his words. She turned back to Danny's lifeless form being hovered over by Ethelwulf in his guise of Dr. Cliff, Frostbite and a few other members of the Far Frozen. At some point, they put a mask over Danny's face to give him air. Ethelwulf's hands were alight with ecto-energy as he put them on the boy's chest. Danny convulsed on the floor for a second, before returning to being completely limp.
She couldn't look away. There was more flurry of activity around him; Ethelwulf charged his hands again, Danny's body arching upward in the air, falling back to the ground.
Ethelwulf brought two fingers to the boy's neck, a grim look over his face. "Where's that stretcher!?" Ethelwulf yelled, the hazel eyes of Dr. Cliff turning more yellow as he grew frustrated.
"There!" Frostbite yelled, watching another one of his followers fly over intangibly with a rolling bed. The ghost flew through the floor and made it tangible under Danny. All ghosts, led by Ethelwulf, pushed the unconscious Danny toward the Fenton infirmary, leaving the stricken friends staring at a pool of Danny's blood.

Nothing had looked out of the ordinary, everything was quiet and untouched like it always was. She closed the door behind herself, locking it like she always did, setting the chain into place. Dropping her bag by the door and sliding out of her heels, she moved through the hall, already beginning to undress from that day’s work clothes. Tugging her blouse up over her head, it fell to the floor just a few feet from her bedroom door. She froze, her eyes trained on the floor where she saw loose rose petals scattered, leading further into the room. In her bedroom, strewn across her bed were multiple roses, with long stems covered in thorns. A pink card rested on top of the gray downy sheets.
Her body ran cold, paralyzed by fear as her eyes fell to the card, not realizing he was standing right behind her. Forcing herself to move, her hand dropped to the bed, picking up the little pink note. Her name was scribbled on the side facing up and when she flipped it over, there were only three words jotted down, in a handwriting she could never erase from her mind;
𝒻𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊, 𝒶𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓁.
Dread ate at her insides as she stared at the card, feeling vomit in the back of her throat. The note fell from her hand, but before it could even land back on the bed, August stepped forward, reaching a hand up to brush the hair back off of her shoulders. His thumbs brushed over the thin straps of her bra. It didn’t surprise her that he had found her, but now that he had, she wished she had run just a little faster.
“Do you know how badly I’ve missed you, angel?” August’s voice was smooth and honeyed, his breath tickling her neck as he pushed her bra straps down her shoulders. His touch was cold and almost desperate, as if he was fearful that she would disappear in the blink of an eye. And almost just as bad, she ripped herself out of his hands, backing away as she turned to look at him. It had been years, now, nearly three since she’d stared into those zaffre eyes, since she had been petrified by that dead, sobering glare.
“I- you… c-can’t be here,” she stumbled over her words, the last bit of color leaving her face as she looked onto his face.
“I can’t?” August answered her, his brow pulling down as he stalked towards her, his hands reaching up to his collar, loosening his tie. “Who's going to make me leave?” Sliding his tie from around his neck, August held it loosely in his right hand, a little sneer rising to his face.
The air around them almost felt suffocating. Each one of his words came out in a soft, gentle breath, almost as if he was worried he’d scare her away like some stray animal. “I’ve thought about you every waking moment we’ve been apart,” August closed the distance between them, “thought about how it would feel to taste your lips again, run my fingers through your hair, be inside of you again,” the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end and her breath caught in the back of her throat.
“No-” she whimpered, but it was too late. Before she had even realized it, August had wrapped his arms around her, tying her wrists together behind her back with his tie. And now it was too late to react, to struggle. He continued to back her up against the wall, caging her inside of his arms. “O-ow,” she choked, his weight pressing her flat against the wall, squishing her hands beneath them.
August grinned, his hands running down her curves to the waistband of her jeans, where his fingers teased the button and her zipper. “Are you going to try and fight, baby girl? You know I love a good fight,” he purred. Pushing them down her hips, she couldn’t help the pleas that it evoked. His hand was forcing its way between her thighs, driving her legs apart. “Stop-” she choked out, the tips of his fingers pinching and pulling at the thin layer of lace that shielded her for the moment.
It was hard to remember a time when she wanted August, yearned for his touch and would beg for it. That time had long since passed, back when everything was masked by smoke and mirrors. When she didn’t know the truth of who he was.
“Your body doesn’t seem to agree with you.” It was true that her body was betraying her, warmth pooling in her gut and she had wet through her panties, excited and sticky for his touch. Animalistic and carnal noises broke in the back of his throat. She arched her back, but tried throwing her shoulders against him, squirming her legs. Any attempt to push him off of her, but he had her pinned firmly between his body and the wall, unmovable like a mountain. His fingers pushed her panties to the side, the sensation of his fingers exploring and dipping inside of her causing her breath to catch in the back of her throat. “Nice and tight, no one’s been in here since me, have they, darling?”
Her face blushed red, burning hot from embarrassment as she looked up to meet his royal blue eyes. She’d never admit it to him, but since August, no other man had been able to please her in the way he could. Having him here now felt like some weird mash up of a blissful dream and a hellish nightmare. Her body was responding in ways she hated, her thighs were trembling and every new touch had a desperate moan dripping off of her tongue.
Supple lips caressed over her shoulder, towards the crook of her neck, placing gentle, sweet kisses up her neck. “You thought that you could leave me, that you could get away from me,” the tone of his voice was now taking a dark shift, his tongue sharp enough to cut like a knife. The tender prodding he’d been doing between her legs finished, August forced two of his fingers into her cunt knuckle deep, eliciting a sharp painful gasp from her pouty lips. “You’ve always belonged to me, angel.”
There wasn’t much fight in her, not for August. She’d always been so terrified of him, it had taken every ounce of courage she had to leave his apartment that night. Under the light from the hanging moon, she had left all of her things and just escaped. And now that his body was crushing down on her, forcing the air from her lungs, forbidding any sort of noise from now leaving her lips, he fucked her relentlessly with his fingers. August had every intention of taking back what was rightfully his, and tonight, he’d make sure to tie them together for the rest of their lives.
Pulling his hand free from between her legs, he admired the glistening wetness that coated him. Just another thing that pushed him further into delusion, helping him to believe that she really did want this. Stepping away from her, the woman took in a deep breath, crying out in relief as air flooded her lungs. She collapsed to her knees and he just laughed, circling her like a predator hunting its prey. “Isn’t that a beautiful sight.”
Stopping behind her, August grabbed her up by her arms, moving her to the edge of the bed where he slammed her chest down into the mattress. Her face was pressed down into the blankets, hot and sweltering already as she cried, begging for mercy though her voice was hidden and muffled. “Stop it, August! Stop, I don’t want this!” Kicking her legs and trying to squirm back up to her feet, August leaned forward and held her head down firmly into the sheets, stomping at her legs until her fighting stopped.
If it hadn’t been obvious before, she knew now that she had no choice in the matter. She belonged to August, she always would. And he was here to take back what he owned.
Flinching at the sound of his zipper, she gasped when he kicked her knees apart, positioning her just how he wanted. His hand moved up the curve of her ass, to her lower back where he pressed down sharply, forcing her to arch her back. On display for him now, August admired her sopping wet core, red and swollen, begging for attention that he was ready to give. Slapping and grabbing at her round ass, August probed another finger inside of her, a hot tingle running straight to the head of his cock. She was intensely tight around him, squeezing and hugging onto him in an effort to keep him inside. “You can’t keep lying, just admit it, you want me.”
“No!” She refused to budge, clawing and grabbing fistfuls of blanket in her hands, keeping her eyes screwed shut tightly in an attempt to keep herself from crying. Continuously, she tried to close her thighs, hide herself from him but he would just force her open once more. August grabbed her hips tightly in his hands, his fingers pressing into her skin so firmly he was sure to leave bruises behind as he mounted her. Lining his cock up with her entrance, all he cared about was feeling her stretching around him, his own satisfaction.
The head of his cock teased and slid against her folds, “I’m going to fuck this pussy so hard you won’t even be able to think about running away from me again.” Sliding himself into her until his balls slapped against her cunt, August groaned, his eyes rolling back into his head. A frenzied cry tore through the room and she pressed her own face down deeper into the mattress, biting down on the blankets to keep herself quiet. She knew August enjoyed a loud show, enjoyed knowing just how much pain he was putting her through and she didn’t want to give him the pleasure.
August didn’t care to wait for her to accommodate to his girth, instead, beginning to ram himself back and forth. Her walls stretched and molded around him, squeezing him tightly and coercing him to fuck even deeper. The fevered sounds of skin on skin slapping echoed through the room, her quiet whimpers of pain and ecstasy breaking through every now and then, but August didn’t halt. The bed underneath of her rocked and swayed, threatened to collapse with the force August was exerting into her.
He didn’t allow her to get used to his rhythm either, reaching forward, he let one hand free of her hip to wrap her dark hair around his fist, forcing her to arch up off of the mattress. No longer could she use the bed to quiet the sounds of her cries. August fucked her with a fiery passion, completely taking over her body as he held her flush to his chest. “Scream for me,” he moaned into her ear, sweat already perspiring across his face and shoulders.
Slamming into her cervix, waves of ecstasy and pleasure seemed to be crashing around inside of her as his size demanded to be felt. Her brain felt foggy and dazed, unable to think rationally any longer as she panted and moaned, relaxing her back against his chest as he fucked into her. Her hands, still tied behind her back, tried grabbing at his shirt, twisting the material in her fingers as he broke out into raspy, hot grunts.
She was almost beginning to enjoy herself, getting over how she had wanted nothing to do with him, wanting nothing to do with this. She felt so full, molded around him, like he fit so perfectly inside. Had she missed him? His arm wrapped around her chest, his hand running up until her neck was held tightly in his grip. Closing off her airways, she gasped for breath, tears burning the corners of her eyes as she grinded her ass back on him, partially enjoying herself, partially wishing for it to come to an end, for him to just finish.
“Fuck,” August groaned against her ear, his breath hot, yet still sending shivers down her spine. “You feel so good, missed you so much,” he pressed his lips to the back of her head as he continued to press himself harder into her. “Gonna make sure you can never leave me again,” he promised her, his strokes becoming slower but deeper. August was making sure to take his time, enjoying every single second of feeling her cunt squeezing him.
With his hand still gripping her throat, she was unable to speak, her face turning a pale shade from the lack of air. All she could do was wheeze, her fingers scratching at the skin beneath his shirt. Every ridge and groove hugged August’s cock, his head kissing her cervix as he sheathed himself deep inside of her. She couldn’t ignore the sudden hot sensation washing over her as her cunt spasmed and gripped him tightly, feeling little explosions going off in her stomach as she came hard on his cock.
That was all August had been waiting for. He released his hand from her throat, letting it fall back to her hips as he dug his nails into her, releasing his hot load deep inside against her womb. Still bucking his hips up into her, August rode out his climax alongside her. Deep, guttural moans almost completely hiding the sound of her crying as he filled her. Her knees began to violently shake, and her chest fell back against the mattress, heaving as she tried to catch her breath. Tears blurred her vision and smeared down her face as she felt August leave her, his hot semen dripping from her core. He moved back to his feet, his azure eyes trained still between her legs, watching as his essence trickled from her cunt like some sweet nectar.
“You can never escape me now.”

Mr. Wonderful || Nathan Drake || *Rewrite*
A/n: Original work here, this one is not gonna be rushed and it’s gonna have a lot more information regarding the readers and Nathan’s relationship.
Flashback Italicized.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nathan Drake, so much could be said about the man. ‘Two bit thief seemed to come up a lot in conversations but to you he was much more than that. He was your best friend, lover and husband but soon he was going to be the father of your unborn child.
Sitting on the sofa next to your sister Elena, it was easy to remember when you told the man you were expecting your child.
   ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
“Nathan! I need to tell you something!”
“Can’t this wait honey! We are getting shot at.” The man’s voice shouted over the gun fire. You two were pinned down by some mercenary's...you mentally cursed at Rafe for being such an asshole.
“Which make’s it the perfect opportunity.” Grabbing a hand grenade from Nathan’s pouch you tossed it at the last few of the remaining men. Hearing the blast to took a deep breath doing your best to stem your nerves. “I’m pregnant.”
“You’re what!”
   ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
Snorting you rubbed your stomach feeling the kick over your child, letting out a pained grunt Elena quickly turned her attention to you. Giving you an eager smile she placed her hand on your belly.
“God I pray that you don’t have another Drake on your hand.” She teased.
Smiling you shook your head relaxing into the couch. “Nathan isn’t so bad...I mean he took the news of my pregnancy well.”
“The man looked like he was going to have a heart attack but if you mean that he didn’t just walk off in the middle of a jungle then ya I guess I gotta give him props for that and I hate to admit it but it was cute seeing him get all protective of you and well it was nice that he kept you safe...”
   ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
“Nathan”
“Y/n...please do this for me...I have to go after him...I can’t.”
You knew what he was trying to say, that he could not leave with out Sam, while you hated the thought of Nathan leaving you were not going to stand in the way of him walking away from his brother. Not when you knew of the grief he went through the first time he had thought Sam had died.
“Then let me go with you.” You weakly asked him, you already knew the answer but you just wanted him to know that you did not want him to go alone.
Chuckling, Nathan pressed his forehead against yours then gave you a gentle kiss. “As much as I would like that....I can’t risk losing you or.../” he nervously placed his hand on your stomach. “Our child.” Stepping back he took a deep breath.
“Elena, you make sure Sully takes good care of her.”
Elena sighed shaking her head though she gave Nathan a smile placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Don’t worry Drake, I will just come back alive alright.”
   ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
Feeling yourself fall asleep, you kept your hand protectively on your stomach. “I can’t think straight knowing Nathan is-”
“Out their risking his life for treasure.” Elena teased.
Sighing you slouched into the couch more. “That but knowing Nathan he’s going to be doing something completely stupid.”
Elena sighed as she shifted her body so it was facing you. “This is Nathan we’re talking about y/n..plus he has Sam.”
“hmp.”
“And Sully...just take a nap alright...all this stress can’t be good for my little niece.”
Closing your eyes you gave your sister a nod adjusting your body so your head was resting on Elena’s shoulders, a small nap wouldn’t hurt.
 ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
“Listen Drake...”
“Call me Nathan....please.”
The man gave Elena a sickeningly sweet smile, one that she’d love nothing more than to smack off.
“You are to stay away from my sister!”
“She’s a grown woman, she can talk to who-” Giving a glance over in your direction you were to busy taking pictures of the coffin they found. “Ever she wants too.” Giving a wink to the blonde woman Nathan casually made his way towards you.
“Pretty amazing right?”
Giving him a wide smile, you nodded your head quickly. “It is, this is gonna be a great story.” Rolling your shoulders you turned your camera up to him snapping a picture.
“What was that for?”
Shrugging your shoulders you slipped your camera away. “I have my reasons.”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
Nathan winced as he pressed his back against a wall of a crumbling building, himself, Sam and Sully have found the location of Lima’s treasure but of course it meant that another group had to find it too.
Getting shot at was not something he had in mind, the man wanted nothing more than to be at your side while you were in your last trimester of your pregnancy. He did not want to miss the birth of his child, what kind of father does that.
“God dammit! You assholes!” Gritting his teeth he shot at a few of the mercenary's. “Come on, calming thoughts Nate. All you gotta do is get through this and then you can get back home to your beautiful wife.”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
Seeing you again was not something that Nathan Drake was expecting. After the messy break up you both shared he was content no content was t the word, he resigned himself on never seeing you again but here you were standing in front of him looking more beautiful than he last remembered. He could feel his heart clench painfully and he suddenly felt like an idiot for telling you his true feelings.
“Hey y/n.”
“Nathan.” Of course you were cold towards him, the man didn’t blame you for it. Biting his tongue he watched as you turned you back towards him, you were talking to someone though it was Elena that blocked you from his view.
“You’re a real prick you know that right?”
“Ya...I know.”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
Nathan should have seen it coming, he should have pulled you out of the way. You shouldn’t have been the one to get hit with the blast, it should have been him. But now he had the risk of losing you, he knew that he had to move you but he did not want to injure you further.
“no-no-no...c’mon...you’re going to be fine.” Placing his hand under you lower back he tried not to flinch at the sound of your pained gasp’s as he and Elena carried you off to safety while Chloe became the look out for any of Lazarević’s men. While he knew he had to stop the man, he did not want to leave you alone.
Carefully placing you against a crumbled pillar Nathan hesitantly grabbed your hand. “Hey y/n...how ya doin?” He did his best to smile but seeing you like this was killing him.
Chloe gave a glanced towards you, you were breathing to heavily for her liking. Lowering her head so that Elena would not hear she lent closer to Nathan. “Not good.”
Digging his nails into his palm Nathan frowned digging his nails into his palm. “You go to the gate as fast as you can.”
“What? No...no way! Don’t you dare take on this crusade.”
“I have too, just get her out of here.”
Before Chloe or Elena could protest Nathan took off running and for the two it felt like hours before the man came running back. He made some quip but Elena could tell his heart was not in. As the place came crumbling around them Nathan let out a cruse as he lifted you up bridle style in his arms. “We need to move faster.”
Getting to the village was the easy part but Nathan did not like how you went silent in his arms. Placing you down on a small cement bed he placed his hand against your cheek. “God no.no no...you’re going to be fine y/n...please.” Moving his hand to your shoulder he tried to shake you awake. “Y/n..hold on all right? Just hold on.” His voice sounding more panicked. “C’mon, stay with us.” Rubbing your shoulder he had to fight back the tears. “You’re going to be fine.”
Turning away, Elena could feel her own tears falling down her cheeks as Chloe tugged the woman into her arms doing her best to sooth her.
“You’re going to be just fine.....y/n don’t do this....y/n. ”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
Waiting for any news of how your were doing, Nathan just prayed that you were okay.
“It’s been a long, strange trip hasn’t it.” Chloe stepped close to Nathan, Elena must still be with you.
“Yes it has...you should play hero more often. It suit’s you.”
“Nah...say...tell me something Nat.”
“What?”
“Do you love her?”
Nathan frowned turning his full attention to Chloe. “Chloe I’m sorry I.”
“No...it’s fine....really it’s alright...just do yourself a favor cowboy and tell her.” Turning her attention to the voice’s both of them watched as Elena helped you out of the small home.
Waving goodbye to Nathan, Chloe walked away from the two. Taking a breath in Nathan cleared out his throat. “Well well....look who’s not supposed to be out of bed.”
“Ya well my sister is a lousy patient, stubborn as hell.”
Letting out a scoff you gave your sister a small shove. “I’m not stubborn just restless.”
Shaking her head Elena glanced at you both, wetting her lips a small smile came to her face. “Say which way did Chloe go.”
Sighing Nathan pointed in the direction though he was surprised as the young woman walked off.
“You did good Nate.”  Lacing your arm through his you gave him a smile as gave his arm a small squeeze.
“Ya?”
Giving him a teasing smile you shook your head, your wounds may have hurt but it did feel good to be in Nathan’s arms again. “So where do we go from here?”
“HUh? I didn’t think that far ahead.”
Standing on your toes you pressed a small kiss to the corner of the man’s lips as Nathan wove his arms around your waist. Sighing he then pressed his forehead against yours. “I love you...I should have said that sooner.”
Grinning you wrapped your arms around his neck tugging him in for a kiss. “Isn’t that funny? I love you too Nathan Drake.”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
“Nathan! Hey Nathan snap out of it!”
Blinking a few times Nathan didn’t even notice how long he had zoned out for. “What??”
“What is right? you were just standing their lookin at nothin!” Sam wrinkled his nose.
“I was just thinking about y/n..”
Sully let out a chuckle patting Nathan’s shoulder as they turned to the treasure, all three looked like a mess but they finally did it. “Let’s just get this on the plan and you can be back with her soon enough.”
As the three worked together, Nathan tensed hearing the familiar ring of phone going off.
“Can someone grab that.”
Letting out a grunt, Sam opened up the satellite phone though he nearly dropped it from what the voice said on the other line. “Uh we might wanna hurry this up.”
“What? Why?”
“Congratulations Nathan, Y/n is going into labor. You’re gonna be a dad.”
“What!”
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
Nathan knew that he must have looked like a crazy person but he had to get to you. He was surprised he didn’t get shot by the security guard the moment he ran into the hospital though he did feel bad for scaring the nurse due to his appearance.
“Mynameisnathandrakeandmywifeisgivingbirthwhatroomissheein?” The words came out a jumbled mess and just as he was about to be taken out Elena rushed over to him.
“Nathan you!...you look like shit.” Shaking her head the woman turned to the receptionist giving her a smile. “He’s the father...he’s an uh archaeologist...it’s why he looks so dirty.” It was the only thing that came to mind and before the receptionist could protest Elena dragged him off to the elevator.
“How is she? How’s Y/n! please tell me I didn’t miss the birth.”
Letting out a laugh, Elena shook her head. Patting him on the shoulder she sighed wiping the dirt off on her pants. “Y/n is fine Nathan and no...she did not give birth yet. Her water broke when I made that call...you...you do know how babies work right?”
Wrinkling his nose, Nathan shook his head as he shifted his weight from one foot to another becoming antsy. “OF course I do...I...I just want to see her.” It took all his will power not to rush out of the elevator as he slowly followed Elena to the room.
Once he arrive he quickly slipped in, spotting you comfortably on the bed. Your hand on your stomach.
“Y/n! I’m here!”
“Nathan!” You couldn’t help but smile hearing the mans voice though your eyes went wide seeing his appearance. He was covered in dirt and what you hoped was dried mud. His hair was in complete disarray, shirt torn and while he may have a few scrapes and bruises he seemed to be fine.
“I can see that but Nathan.”
Grabbing your hand gently he pressed a small kiss to the ring on your finger. “Yes?”
“Go take a shower and change...Elena brought a bag for you.” Giving him a smile you ignore a contraction as Nathan let out a sigh.
“Okay okay.” Giving you another kiss the man slipped into the bathroom to take a quick shower not wanting to leave you alone for much longer.
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇.
Now cleaned and dressed Nathan made his way over to you, sitting in the seat grasping your hand. “I’m sorry for being late...for almost missing our child’s birth.”
“Nathan…”While you were touched by what he was saying you did not want him to feel guilty for it. “It’s not your fault...just next time. Try not to go on anymore treasure hunts when I’m pregnant.” You were trying to make light of the situation despite doing your best to ignore the creeping pain though you were sure the baby was coming now.
“Like I should have been the one to take you to the hospital not Elena.”
Taking a deep breath you glanced over at the man,he was hunched over not looking you in the eye“Nathan.”
“I mean I get that she is your sister but I’m your husband…I shouldn’t have been looking for the next clue.”
“Nathan!”
Gritting your teeth, while you loved your husband and while you did think that his rambles were cute you just wanted him to shut up so he could get a doctor.
“Huh? what?” Nathan quickly looked you over to see if anything was wrong.
“Get me our doctor…the baby is coming now and if you don’t grab her I am going to kill you.”
“Right!” Scratching his cheek he pushed the chair back before he rushed off to grab the doctor. While it didn’t take long to find her, it seemed like it took even long to push the baby out.
Letting out a scream you pushed whenever your obstetrician told you too as Nathan held onto your hand.
“Nathan.” Biting your tongue you squeezed his hand tightly. “I can’t do this.” You could feel the tears slipping down your cheeks as Nathan let out his own small laugh as he brushed a strand of your hair away from your face.
“Are you kidding me beautiful. You know how many place’s you and your sister..and Sully helped me discover.”Bringing your hand to your lips he gave it a soft kiss.
“Just…Don’t let go of my hand, okay?.” While he hated seeing you in so much pain, he was excited to see his child soon. “I will always protect you.You can do this.”
Nodding your head you swallowed thickly squeezing Nathan’s hand tightly, with his encouraging words you pushed again missing the grimace on the mans face from your tight grip.
As time went by you felt a small amount of relief hearing your obstetrician letting you know it was time for the final push and went it was done you heard a tiny cry followed by Nathan’s relived laugh.
“She’s so tiny y/n.” Pressing a small kiss to the side of your head, Nathan watched as one of the nurse’s took the newborn away then turned to the obstetrician who was fixing you up.
“You did great beautiful,,,I’m so proud of you.”
Chuckling you gave him a tired smile leaning into his embrace once he settled himself next to you on the bed. You forced to keep yourself awake, you wanted to hold your newborn before you fell asleep.
Once the nurse came back with the baby, the woman gently placed her in your arms showing what to do. Looking down at the sleeping bundle in awe you glanced up at Nathan seeing that his eyes were tearing up.
“She’s beautiful….perfect…our little Cassandra.” Hesitantly reaching out, he let his thumb gently brush against her cheek.
“Your mother would be proud Nathan.” Smiling up at him you let out a small yawn.
“You think she would?”
“I know she would, though we should probably tell Sam, Sully and Elena.”
Scratching his cheeks he nodded his head seeing you drift off, clearing out his throat he gently took the newborn in his arms sitting in the chair, cradling her gently. “Ya…later, just let me bask in this bliss but get some rest y/n…you deserve it.”
“Hmm you’re right…I do.” Wincing, you adjusted your body to watch your husband, you managed to grab your phone beside your table. Biting your lip you took a few pictures before placing it back down as your eyes started to close.
“I’ll hold her till you wake up..or uh till she needs to eat.”
Snorting, you smiled for a moment. “Sounds good honey.”
“Oh…y/n…so I guess this mean’s that you can call me Daddy Drake…right.”
Groaning you tugged the hospital pillow closer to your head. “Nathan!”
“What!” Holding his newborn close, Nathan gave you a small grin. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was. Meeting you on that dock, nearly losing you....that was something he did not want to think about but at least he got to confess his feelings to you then finally asking you to marry him.
With everything you two went through, everything that you had to put up with he knew he was a lucky man. “You’re gonna be loved Cassandra, you will have a happy family.”
“I promise.”

anon i hope you know this is like the Perfect set up for a rapunzel AU. maybe you did. maybe you did this on purpose. regardless... tangled AU
imma go with remy being the lost princess, and logan the dashing thief, because while my instinct is to go the other way around i like Switching It Up on y'all
remy's bigender, using male pronouns but female titles/referrals. he figured this out solely because he preferred the way the male pronouns sounded, while also liking being a princess a good deal more than being a prince. he doesn't mention this to mother gothel tho. i mention this mostly so none of y'all get confused as i go sdkjhncfjsd
logan's transmale, and his struggles as a poor trans kid are what made him go Fuck Society Actually. he targets the crown especially bc the king and queen can stand to lose their gold
he doesn't stumble upon the tower after being chased for the crown, however; he's just looking for a place to hide in general. he's just made off with a good sack of gold, and he wants to stash it for a bit, let the heat die down, before he tries to buy anything with it
and that's how he finds the hidden clearing, with the surprisingly intact, singular tower dead center
he, of course, goes to investigate, and ends up nearly getting run through with a broomstick, which he feels would be a pretty bad way to go
but that's not entirely horrible, because the person dangerously weilding the cleaning implement is a bit absolutely stunning
he says as such and almost gets a broom through a lung, because apparently this tower dweller thinks he's a threat and is also insulting them
after a... lot of talking, and logan wisely easing up on the complimenting thing (for now...), they get things figured out. the tower dweller is remy, and he's waiting for his mother to return from a store run or smth. logan has to be gone before mother is back, or logan will be in trouble
aside from the fact logan doesn't really want to leave remy just in General, he has some doubts about 'mother'. like why she was raising her kid... here. in the middle of the woods. in a hidden clearing. in a high tower. with no clear way in or out (logan had to scale the thing, and it doesn't look like remy's used to that method of entrance). and the best defense weapon on hand being a broom
so when remy faux-indifferently asks logan what the moving lights are ("i know they're not stars... please don't tell me they're stars..."), logan jumps at the chance to invite remy to see them- it'll only be a day, mother wont mind that long, right? logan can keep remy safe from his every fear of that real world, and remy'll get to see the lights, and everyone will be happy
remy's hesitant, but it's clear he wants to go. it doesn't take that much prodding to convince him to leave mother a Very vague note about being back soon and being safe, to go with logan
that's when logan learns about remy's hair. he hadn't noticed before, the dirty blond hair on the floor not having caught his attention, but he certainly notices it when remy's jumping out the window, cascading down the way by hanging on to all... goodness knows how many yards of it
if he wasn't already suspicious there was something off about this whole situation, the hair that was Way longer than it should be- and way stronger to boot- tipped him off pretty seriously
and as their trip goes on? logan's only adding to the list of Sus, including (but oh so not limited to)
the clear fact remy's Never left the small, sheltered clearing (which in my version is still within the forest, no overhead open sky) to the extent seeing the sun has him doubling over and clutching his eyes like they burn
after making do with some cloth wrapped over remy's eyes for a bit, logan gets him some sunglasses and remy doesnt know what they are at first
remy has too much fucking anxiety in his him- he hides from a passing person faster than logan, the known and wanted criminal
and it's clear he's not just avoiding social interaction- he loves talking to logan, and he's plenty social and alive and everything then- but he just seems to have some fear against. well. the world
remy is also... oddly clingy to logan. like. wayyyy too much so. maybe logan could blame it on remy not knowing enough about the outside world, but it seems... more than that. as if just bc remy's decided to trust logan on this, logan's the end-all be-all of trust or smth. logan's not exactly how to put it to words but. it's wrong
overall, remy has a very Vibrant personality. he's confident, strong, unwilling to just be led around and nothing like a damsel in distress. but it seems much too... surface level. like if logan pushed too hard, it would all crumble, to reveal something- someone- who's not sure about anything and who's terrified because of it
making their way to the center of the kingdom makes it all the more clear to logan that Something is wrong with remy, and that there is no way he can ever go back to that tower
because logan's an orphan kid, he's seen his fair share of foster homes, of some of the kids who come back from them
he knows what child abuse victims look like
that's not all logan's learning about remy on the way to the kingdom, however. he's also learning about his favorite story, how much he's thought about the moving lights, how the world looks so different from the ground. logan's learning how remy's genuine smiles are much prettier than the faux one he wears a lot, how his laughs are rare but perfect, how incredible he is between the poorly concealed fear and hurt
logan's a thief and a cynic, someone's who had long written off most of the supposed good in the world, much too used to an orphaned childhood, growing up in poverty, misgendering, pain
something about remy makes him reconsider some of his more pessimistic beliefs
they reach the kingdom at midday, but remy stops them before they can actually go in. even with the sunglasses, logan can see the blinding fear in his eyes at the sight of civilization, of all those people. he grips his hair, takes a half step back, looking about ready to call it all off and run all the way back 'home'
logan grabs remy's hand. the grip is light, easily escaped, but remy doesnt, just looks at logan, trying to school his expression into one of cool neutrality instead of fear
"i can braid your hair." logan says, holding remy's gaze as he speaks. "so no one steps on it while we go to see the moving lights."
logan knows that's not the main thing stopping remy from entering the kingdom. it's an excuse, just for him. because it's easier to be worried about your hair being stepped on then to admit just being Afraid, right?
"I will not let it come undone" logan adds, lightly squeezing remy's hand. i will not let you get hurt
it's a long minute before remy agrees, but he does agree
they sit on the floor of the forest, just outside the kingdom, logan's deft fingers making quick work of the tangles that have developed in remy's hair over the course of the trip, the thief carefully watching the way remy's stiff as wood at first, trying not to react to logan's work on his hair, but slowly relaxes, leaning back a bit, tilting into logan's touch each time it comes back to remy's head
it takes a while, but soon enough, remy's hair is mostly restrained in a braid that's held together at key points by flower stems, leaving remy's hair decorated with wildflowers to boot
remy loves it. logan's starting to think he loves something too, but he's less willing to admit it
spending the rest of the day in the town is surprisingly wonderful- remy keeps close to logan, but he manages to talk to some people at times, and when they find the library he seems just about ready to die happy in there
logan stays close to him the entire time, usually holding his hand. he's never loved being around people more
it's getting close to the time for the lanterns to be released when logan realizes who remy is
the tower girl makes a comment about how familiar the lost princess's mural is. logan glances between it and remy, between the uniquely red-tinted brown eyes, the bright baby hair that could've easily turned dirty blond, the story of a dying queen and a magical flower springing to mind
remy is the lost princess. and as loathe as the thought of letting him go is, logan knows remy's the one treasure the thief can't have
so logan promises to himself, after they see the lanterns, he'll explain. he'll bring the princess to the king and queen, and hope he doesn't get arrested in the process. he'll set things right, and then he'll leave
because the thief doesn't get the girl anywhere other than fairytales
they still share an absolutely magical moment out on the water though. the way remy's eyes light up seeing the lanterns rise into the sky, sunglasses off in the dark evening, awe-struck... and when logan reveals the lanterns he snagged at one point, that they two of them can send up- logic help him, logan's not sure how much longer he can go on denying the truth
they don't kiss, don't even get close, bc logan's too busy trying to deny the truth and remy's still got a million trust issues
but remy's hand is slotted in logan's nearly the entire time, and they release their lanterns at the same time, and they hold each other's gazes a few times too long, and that seems pretty damn close to Something for them
they head back to the kingdom land before the other boats. logan knows remy will prefer to hear what he says without too many people around them, and if logan's being honest with himself? he's running away. he's running away from this closeness before it can get him (it's already gotten him, but he's always been so good at lying)
then logan gets shot :D
bc mother gothel found that note and she didnt like it!! she was after remy as soon as she saw it, and now she's caught up, and she's not letting anyone keep remy from her
she comes totting a crossbow that she levels on remy the moment she sees him. demanding he come home, saying the world is too dangerous for him to be out and about, pretending the crossbow is for logan instead, that he's a threat, can't remy see he needs to come home with her? where it's safe?
remy doesn't move. mother is supposed to be safety, right? he should go with her
...he doesn't want to leave logan
things escalate. logan says he'll never let gothel have remy again. remy doesn't react to this, but he doesn't step closer to gothel either. her frustration builds. the trigger gets pulled
it's unclear who she meant to hit but logan's the one who takes the arrow through his chest, barely even thinking as he made sure he was between remy and the projectile
by then, the townspeople have begun returning to the town, so there are people to grab gothel, ensure she doesn't attack further. someone runs for the king and queen, because one soldier recognizes gothel, as long ago as it's been since she was last seen and known and Wanted by the rulers, wanted for taking their baby
people try to approach logan, to help, but remy curls around him, refusing to let anyone near, not trusting them, refusing to lose the one person left in this world he cares about
remy's hair has fallen out of its braid, falling around himself and on top of logan, whose head remy is carefully supporting in his hands. logan's trying to convince remy it's okay, everything will be okay, that as long as remy is okay it'll be okay, but remy's really not buying it, not when logan's blood is staining his shirt and hair and his voice is getting weaker and weaker and weaker
"it's okay" logan tries to promise, even though remy can barely hear him over the gurgle of blood in the back of his throat
"how can it be okay? you're dying"
"...and you're safe" logan replies, just barely, wasting the last of his strength to reach up, cupping remy's cheek, holding his face like he was the most important thing in the world, "you're safe. and i love you"
logan's eyes slip closed after that, and they don't seem to be opening again soon
remy could do a lot of things now. scream, cry, breakdown. he's already pretty close to doing a lot of them
but instead, he sings. he sings the song mother gothel always made him, the one that could deage. he doesn't know what it will do. but he hopes against hope it'll do Something. that it will save logan Somehow
and before the eyes of the town, before the eyes of the king and queen just fetched from their castle, they watch as remy's hair glows with magic not seen in nearly two decades
it's dangerous for remy. gothel had always taught that. people would do Anything to take his hair if they knew. but he doesn't care right then. all that mattered was logan. nothing else
he doesn't even realize what he's managed to do until logan's gently shaking him, telling him he can stop singing, it's okay, for real now, he's okay, they're okay
and you know how it goes from there... the king and queen reveal that Yep Remy You're Our Daughter, logan is accepted by the family bc Took A Hit For Remy Our Daughter, remy and logan continue to have their own issues due to Childhood Abuse but with each other, and their love, they get better... and they get to live happily ever after
