I finished starforce 1-! I played the dx patch, ofc, I hunted the sp bosses but I gave up when deep space asked for a complete standard library like god bless dex filling is not my passion. Maybe one day I’ll come back to it. 25 hours across 6 days… it’s a bit sad actually, if I were a kid this would’ve taken years but now I just blitz through it in less than a week… aw.

But anyway I really loved it… I’ve never played mmsf1 before, only watched a playthrough and anime years ago so while I was aware of some major twists (pat/rey and AM-ian mega) and the boss lineup, I had forgotten a lot of the smaller details so it was still really fun… I really love geo’s character progression, depressed lonely kid who pushes others away but ends up being saved by people who insist on being in his life, insist on dragging him around and including him and consistently reaching out to him… as well as geo ultimately deciding to move on because he meets someone with the same pain as him and wants to reach out and help, so that she doesn’t fall into the same pit that he does, ending with the both of them moving forward and deciding to be strong together… it’s something I relate to/understand heavily so honestly I’m pretty floored that this is in a game for 10 year olds. If I had a nickel for every time a kid’s game smacked me over the head with its writing I’d have 2 nickels etc etc (tho it’s probably the fact that it is a kid’s game in the first place that makes me underestimate it then get surprised when it has good writing).

Geo and Mega’s relationship is so touching to me… I really love the dynamic of “oh dear god I’m stuck with this guy” but in the end it was because of mega first that geo started caring about other things, started trying new things and experiences for mega’s sake… and in return mega does learn more about caring for other people and being kinder too. It’s a minor detail that I haven’t seen anybody point out before but for transer requests in the early game areas (ie echo ridge) mega is often dismissive about other ppl’s problems (his dialogue along the lines of “ah geez let’s get this over with”/“yeah? let them figure out their own problem.”) but later on in the game he seems… disappointed? when megaman decides not to take on a request. It’s a really cute minor detail that I love. Sadly I don’t have any screenshots to prove this but you gotta trust me bro. Or you can look it up, compare say, echo ridge requests vs dream island or time square reqs.

And on mega- it’s actually very funny to me when you compare his sf1 and sf3 concept art, lol. In the art book it says that they redesigned him to have more upright posture and “handsome” appearance it’s killing me 😭 he’s a domesticated cat… geo tamed him….

Anyway! I just started zerker x ninja last night, played a lil bit of it- unlike sf1 I never watched a playthrough, only the anime, but honestly I totally forgor anything that was in it. Apart from there’s 3 main villains? And solo, god I love solo I can’t wait to meet him properly… but that was all from a rewatch of the anime op, so. First impressions of the game is- holy fucking shit mega follows geo around when you put on the visualiser?????? 😭😭😭😭😭oh my GOD. this is EVERYTHING. Tears in my eyes actually ohhh this is probably the best feature of the game. My god. It’s so cute….!!! Mega’s always by your side, geo… he’s like a following pokemon, lol. That’s a good thing. Number 2- oh, you can walk on the ground as megaman now, cool that’s like sf3- WHY DID I GET AN ENCOUNTER ON THE GROUND. When I tell you my jaw dropped…. Lmao it feels like my safe space got robbed from me </3 viruses should NOT be bothering me on the ground.

Frankly my initial opinion on sf2 was soured because of the negativity surrounding it online, which, fair, half an hour in and I can already see the translation errors… and I’m playing the lowered encounter patch so hopefully the rates won’t be too problematic for me… and ngl people saying that the game having a less heavy and serious tone unlike sf1 and sf3 is a bit of a let down, but ahh, I’ll play regardless and see how it goes. I’m excited to meet solo, at least-! Sf2 is entirely new sf content to me, so I’m way excited to experience it for the first time…!! After this I will join everybody else in the drought 💀

Technically yes. My middle name is a biblical one, and also my…. Aunt?? Cousin? I’ve met her but I think she’s my dad’s first cousin and I don’t know what that means I am to her.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Like… what type of cry? Sobbed? End of December. Cried? About a week ago. From laughter? Sunday night. My brother was building a clearance gingerbread house and the icing said “made in a nut free facility” and my brother leaned over to me and said “so no men there?” And I lost it. Later he just fucking leaned over and started to hands free eat the house and I lost it again. Just little tears? Last night. I saw an instagram reel and I got misty eyed. I don’t remember what it was about.

Haha no. I’m not strictly opposed? But I’m not fucking doing that by myself and relationships are real low priority to me.

Not at the moment. I want rats someday but I’m so busy I wouldn’t be able to give them a good life 😞

As a child: basketball, soccer, football (like American football lol), tennis, cheerleading.

As an adults I’m pretty active but not really in organized sports. Now I’m doing mostly running, gymnastics, and pole dancing.

Hahahah i don’t even know. I don’t particularly want to work. However I wish I could do animal education at a zoo. I would love that. I would love just answering questions about iguanas.

Oh. Oh wait… my like, dream unbelievable never going to happen job would be an acrobat. Fuck. When I was younger interacting with circus related material like movies or books or even color palets would make my heart hurt. Like sometimes I couldn’t interact with it because it just hurt so much. It’s just so cool and fucking magical and mesmerizing. I loved it. And even at like 15 I thought it was too late for me to ever be a part of that world.

And then when I turned 22 and had a fucking life meltdown, I was watching fucking unus anus and heard Ethan talking about gymnastics and decided to just… try something. And I quickly found out it wasn’t too late?? That I still had a chance to learn and try and experience circus arts??? Now I’ve tried acrobatics and aerial silks and contortion and pole and got on a trapeze once. And now it’s my motivation for how I take care of myself. I have to eat food and move my body and take care of myself. I have to because if I don’t I’ll never be able to try lyra/aerial hoop. I gotta keep going because I’ve got pole on Wednesday and I’m so close to the body spiral.

When I get emotionally low I remind myself I gotta keep going so I can get back to my circus arts.

- 100000/10 🔥🔥🔥 I loved the show. Yes it was kinda stereotypical in the Mafia bits but those were few and far between honestly. The plot was still kinda original and it was gay so it gets bonus points just for that.

- I would actually watch this again. Which is a huge compliment from me bcs there’s only maybe 4 shows I’ll watch more than once.

- WHERE IS MY VEGAS/PETE SPIN OFF???

- also. Like what is Kim up to?? Obviously we see Porchay living in the major family house with Kinn/Porsche. And Kim is back at his apartment. But other than groveling for forgiveness from Porchay, what’s he doing?? And why was he curious about Porsche’s background in the first place?? Kim could have stayed uninvolved and left Porchay out of this and the plot could have still worked in my opinion.

- I walked into this show just expecting mafia bullshittery and gay bullshittery. I got both. But I also just fell in love with a whole genre of show (this was the first BL I have ever watched). I don’t watch tv shows or even movies often bcs I have a hard time getting invested in new characters and actually focusing on the plot of a show/movie. But the show was long enough to keep me interested and still short enough I didn’t get bored. The episodes being roughly an hour is nice bcs I actually get plot in the episode (to me a typical 20 minute tv show just isn’t enough time to develop a good plot line). I’ve got a ton of BL dramas on my watch list and the length of the series/episode are all pretty similar (if I remember correctly) and the consistency is nice.

- Also. Gained several new ships and I unlocked the shows fanfic genre. A win for me.

- Also also. I know Kinn/Porsche is obviously the main ship of the show but I have a soft spot for Vegas/Pete and I didn’t expect that. I also never expected to like either character but here we are 🤷 Pete is still Pete but bcs my boy Vegas likes him I like him well enough.

Up till this day I will always get confused on rivens “ethnicity” (or I guess what kind of ethnicity he’s modeled after)🤠 like i can see why some people would think he’s a white boy but simultaneously he’s not as “white boy” looking as like sky Brandon or Timmy? Then I guess helia to a certain extent is the most Asian coded Bcs of his features and hair etc but I guess what throws me off is the fact that he’s saladins grandson and saladin looks pretty old and white to me😭 and nabu I guess u can say is Indian coded or black coded. But riven just throws me off so much because his features change subtly in every single season of animation that if becomes super headache driving for me to determine if he’s like white white or if he’s Asian (like I think season 2 to season 5 he had similar to eyes as helia and Musa who are probably Asian coded) or if he’s like hipspanic or smth (which I know a lot of people say he’s like Mexican and stuff). But then in season 6 he looks more white all of a sudden and oh well I don’t count season 8. When I was a kid I always thought he was Asian though Bcs of his shared features with Musa but hey maybe they started to have that “after dating for a while all couples slowly start to look like each other” thing

I started reading the manga during my small moments of free time and goddamn I still repeat “he’s just a little guy” over and over about vash like I did with stampede 😭😭 and I just finished volume 1 so when they were on the sand steamer and even just the part where he was shooting the big guy I was sitting there in shock because he looked like he was killing him even tho I knew he probably wasn’t I was just blown away. And then like five seconds later he was beating up the kid for being sentimental akjdkaks. The whiplash I’d get from being on the edge of my seat from a battle to cackling at a little comment from vash

Tho I will admit I’m having a bit of trouble following along at times. Sometimes there’s so much going on on a page that I can’t tell what’s happening or I can’t understand what’s happening in a panel. I’d sit there for a few minutes just studying the page to try and find out what’s happening 😅 everything just seems to move so fast but honestly it’s a little nice knowing that one of the small gripes I had about stampede was part of the manga, so I know it’s not like bad writing. It may also be the fact I don’t usually read manga but stampede was like that and I have read small parts of other manga before and I don’t remember them moving so fast

Gosh I feel a little sick just thinking about it still. Like I didn’t even remember the plant part ngl just where nai was changing vash’s memories and using him to open the other dimension. That’s why I usually prefer reading stuff like that cause then I can just skim the page and get a vague idea of what’s happening and don’t have to pay too much attention but with tv you have to watch to understand, and I couldn’t even look away and just listen cause I watch sub not dub (tho I really hope the dub comes to Hulu at some point I think this is the first time I’ve ever wanted to watch a dub of an anime the clips I’ve seen are just so good) but I’m glad I’ll be able to just skim the page when reading the manga and it gets uncomfy

I kinda can’t imagine him getting so aggressive which is probably why I was so shocked by the manga. Like I can’t remember too many moments from what I’ve read that he stopped to try and “talk it out” (tho that could also be me just missing it from fast-pacedness) I still think of him almost never pulling his gun when I have read him doing it over and over in the manga. Honestly I’m a little scared for when nai arrives in the manga because 1, youve said vash gets scary and 2, I’m genuinely worried nai will be a lot worse in the manga tho I have no reason to think that yet. Maybe it’s cause of the talk of stampede just being a prequel so nai might get worse (if he’s alive but like ?? He’s gotta be right??? No way he just died idk I have a feeling he’s alive or smth)

Oh god the FEATHERS I was wondering what that was when I was watching stampede and then the wings appeared in the manga and I was like OH MY GOD. And now I’m even more worried because he can’t control it??? So people fear him???? Not my boy don’t do this to him he don’t deserve it 😭😭

I can’t tell if the manga will heal me from stampede or not cause apparently vash stands up for himself way fucking more than in the show which I’m extremely happy about but also sounds like he goes through so much more trauma which I cannot deal with he needs all the hugs 😭😭😭

(Writed this today, but actually watched the movie on the 23rd of august, but I went through the screencaps for recap)

- This is not a movie I would watch as a kid. I probably watched maybe in kindergarten or rented it cause I have nostalgia for some scenes but maybe I never watched it fully or maybe just got them from picture books or the Disney magic English vhs. But I actually remember the live action movies more. Specially the cruella cake scene. But haven’t watched them in sooooooooooooo long. Kindergarten really

- It’s a cute movie, not a fave tho. As far as animal movies go, I prefer lady and the tramp, aristocats, rescuers, lion king, bolt…

- The opening credits are really cute. It’s not just illustrations. Very playful

- I romanticize London and Paris a lot cause of movies like this 😭😭😭 the aesthetic is just so good

- Nothing looks better than sleeping beauty, but if I didn’t know anything about these movies production I don’t think I would consider this movie’s animation and art style a downgrade compared. As I said, nothing competes with sleeping beauty, but 101 Dalmatians isn’t and didn’t need to be that and instead the artists gave it just a unique art style. The backgrounds in this movie are gorgeous. I love how messy the art is

- I love the beginning of this movie a lot. Pongo is so funny. My fave scene is the ladies passing with their very similar dogs 😭😭😭😭 character design at its best and I love that these ladies make small appearances through out the movie. I don’t think dogs reflect their human’s appearance irl but it was such a fun point the movie made. I love it. Best part of the movie

okay so thots on the first ttgl movie is exactly what i expected it to be going in: i loved it but i wish there were some things they didn’t cut LMAO. but i liked a lot of the additions/changes they made too! and i get why they had to make the changes bc there’s no way you could fit all of that into one movie!! so yeah i rly loved it <33333 more in-depth thots below the cut:

ok so before i go further i’ll say that i was watching this in japanese wo subtitles so my unfortunately monolingual ass may have missed some things but i think i got most of it!!! the plot is largely the same and it was v cool to hear the og vas (i assume they were the same ones as for the tv show). with that:

STARTING OFF W THE LORDGENOME BACKSTORY!!!! it was pretty cool to see (especially the shot where it went down cathedral terra like it goes down super galaxy dai-gurren in the og show) and i really liked how it kicked the movie off w a bang w brand new animation but still paralleling the start of the show. especially bc the start of the show doesn’t quite fit w where it ends up once they get to space. so yeah i thought this part worked really well!!! and ALSO i loved the libera me from hell in the bg with just the opera and no rap (representing that the antispirals had “won” and halted evolution.......symbolism)!!!

i feel like throughout the movie there were some very small new animation details that were funny!! and maybe they were in the show and i just forgot bc my memory is garbo but idk i thought they were fun. like in the very beginning when kamina looks at yoko’s butt and then afterwards she looks at his 😭😭😭 and also there were two shots where simon averted his eyes from yoko’s uhhhh tiddies too LMAO 😭😭😭 OH AND ALSO i noticed leyte in littner this time around (again, maybe she was there and i just missed her before fklsjdhlf)

simon’s va did so good!!! honestly i loved them all lmao. it really means they casted the dub well too (for the most part, i don’t like leeron 😐) bc i could almost always tell who was speaking even tho i’d never heard the japanese voices before.

they kept the eyecatches!!!! and added new art!!!!!! i was so excited to see those lmao

i don’t think i mind that they took out the plot abt kamina’s dad. it definitely saves runtime and kamina didn’t need to be developed like that since i assume everyone watching this movie already knows what happens to him LMAO. like instead they made sure to hit all the plot points for simon and kamina’s brotherhood which was obviously more important, so i don’t mind :)

THAT SAID i get that it’s, again, less important than simon & kamina’s stories and relationship, but i’m sad they stuffed the adai village stuff into the montage. i get why they did, bc not only would it have taken a LOT of time to dive into that was better spent on simon & kamina, and also the tone of that segment wouldn’t really fit well w the funny tone of the first bit of the movie (especially w the song they played over it LMAO) but i do think it’s a big loss from rossiu’s character. i’m def interested to see what they do w his arc in the second movie, especially bc in the show his motivations are so clear BECAUSE of how much time is spent in adai village. also i am just a rossiu fan in general LMAO so i always want more rossiu :))) but yeah i’m wondering where they’ll take his character or if there’ll be a brief flashback in the second movie to explain why rossiu’s acting Like That. which again, everyone watching these movies probably already knows, and i bet they cut it cause rossiu isn’t super popular to begin with, but he is my SON!!! and i love him dearly <333

on the other hand i thought the montage set up kittan’s character PERFECTLY. all we gotta know abt him is that he’s got an overzealous one-sided rivalry w kamina and he’s a lil slutty and that covered it all!! and also made it even funnier when he shows up to help w thymilph and kamina’s like “...........who tf are you?” bc my man literally had five seconds of screen time prior to that LMAO

i liked the shot of yoko reading a book w her teacher glasses!! i guess we’ll be seeing that little bit in the second movie :)))

i like that they mostly cut the hotsprings stuff and the beach ep because those eps are. well. not my favs lmao BUT we also didn’t get to see rossiu being Completely And Utterly Aroace in both segments fksdjhflskjdhs ya win some ya loose some i guess!!!

i like that they decided to combine all the post-kamina-death pre-teppelin battles into one. i feel like that was a smart move lmao, plus it gave some cool new fights (even if some cool fights and also the beginnings of simon & rossiu’s friendship were cut down)!!! it also just.....seems smart??? on lordgenome’s part??? to send all 3 of his generals at once after thymilph is defeated. i guess it kinda felt like simon’s getting-over-kamina’s-death arc was a tad bit rushed bc of it, but honestly not as much as i thought it would be (and again, is something i expected w a limited runtime so i don’t rly mind it). i really liked how it was adapted to the new plot beats!!

also i liked that that weirdly suggestive scene with guame and nia was cut lmao leave her ALONE!!!!!!

i liked simon climbing up the gunman with his og drill and his core drill!!! like it was nice how the heart of kamina’s story (look at simon’s back as he keeps drilling forwards) was adapted to be a bit faster paced and different, but still representative of simon and his tenacity. ALSO THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER SCENE WAS SO HYPE!!!!!! I LOVED THE NEW ANIMATION DIALING IT UP TO ELEVEN!!!!!! and the extended bits of simon and kamina’s relationship before simon shakes off his tears were so 😭😭😭😭😭 like GOD i love that scene SO MUCH and i know it all by HEART so to see it for the first time again..........fucking incredible 🥲🥲🥲

the adiane vs yoko fight was very cool but why’d they have to cut yoko’s bikini top off 😩

okay so. i LIKED that viral was the only one left alive in the wreckage like that was VERY COOL. (i also wonder if he’s gotten his immortality yet??? i don’t think so tho) however i am a bit sad that the show’s version of this scene, where he’s alone on the beach punching the sand bc he realizes it’s just some kid whose been beating him since thymilph (and kamina) died, got cut. bc it had that extra nuance of viral facing the idea that he’s been chasing after kamina for so long and kamina’s been DEAD. (altho maybe viral did say something to this effect just. in japanese lmao)

in the same vein i wish they kept the scene where viral discovers it’s literally Just Simon piloting gurren lagann and where he refuses to fight because simon’s a kid. like that adds a lot to viral’s character imo, and it sets up his arc after the timeskip in the show where he’s standing up to the government and helping people who want to live underground do so, because he’s decided to stick up for the defenseless, sometimes to his own harm. again this is kinda similar to the rossiu stuff where i know it’s not as impactful to the main story, but it DOES set up character beats for him later on, and i’m both interested to see how the second movie adapts to these changes AND a bit sad that it was cut bc viral is my fav FKSDJNFL.
