#i never had a facebook account...which in 2024 feels like my choice is extremely validated

was going to make a post along the lines of how i really don't understand everyone's extreme enthusiasm about signing up for a social media website that just newly launched, specifically around the time twitter was first declining and bluesky/threads/cohost popped up...like for me, any social media platforms i currently have accounts on, i joined after several years of them being established. but then i remembered when facebook first came out and how people were so enthusiastic about signing up for facebook so it occured to me that i might just be an outlier
