If you want to sell fanfic, it MUST be from something in the public domain. Thats what public domain means, no one owns it/we all collectively own it, so anyone can make money off it. Go get into and write fic for Dracula, Sherlock Holmes and sell it all you like.

Eveything else comes under copyright which means the original creator and people they allow are the only ones who can make money off it. Thats the reason you cant talk about money or commissions on a03. Thr only reason we get away with fic at all is becausr we arent making money. Otherwise its illegal, and its a law they can and do enforce. This isnt be gay do crimes, this is behave othrrwise everything could be deleted, it HAS happened before and its why ao3 exists the way umit does now.

What you CAN do, if you hsve a novel length work you would really like to publish, is what peoppe call "filing off the serial numbers". You edit ti remove all traces of the original media. You change names, you might need to change characters or locations around a bit, you might need to rework a magic system so its different from the source material but still does what you need it to do. This isnt an extensive or accurate list its what I know anecdotally. Probably a literary agent or someone familiar with copyrught law could tell you how distinct to make it.

50 shades was twilight fanfic, but the characters arent edward and bella. Think about what makes them different so that 50 shades could be piblished asnits own thing. Maybe other people can add examples bc I cant think of any others rn. Wizard of oz and wicked maybe, idk if oz is public domain.

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

HELLO!! Here are my updated commission prices for the new year! I'll be working with 4-6 slots per month at a time, and have added an option to submit your idea to me by google form, if you prefer to do that.

I'm offering full-body sketches for a reduced price as a bit of an experiment! I have a lot of fun sketching, and wanted to include a lower-budget option. I also want to try offering discounts on coloured full-body illustrations, if a sketch is resubmitted to me later in the year.

Payment via PayPal invoice, in Canadian dollars. (PayPal handles the currency conversion, and the processing fees are incurred by me, not you.)

Full payment is due after you have seen, offered feedback on, and approved of a rough composition sketch. You can request milestone updates as I work.

Blood/injury, body horror, nudity, pinup/suggestive (nudity or no), are all OK and I’m happy to discuss subject matter in DMs if you’re unsure! (media tags on this blog are a good reference for what I am willing to draw. BG3 is a fair reference point!)

I can answer questions and offer price quotes in DMs, but emails let me stay better organized during our communication, and I will need your email to send you the PayPal invoice.

Shopping Selfies

Back again already because I'm still trying to get through my backlog of posepacks. I made these back in June and I've misplaced my notes so can't remember who I made them for! I'm so sorry! Message me if you see this and want a tag.

This is a very complicated pack because it contains multiple requested accessories, and also some of the accessories are being 'worn' in CAS by Sims who are not actually holding the accessories in the poses (to avoid UVs conflicting between multiple accs). For example, the shopping bag in couple pose 4 is actually assigned to the male Sim, because if the female Sim held both the bag and the handbag there would be visual glitching. I've been told that if you use these for Blender renders then it's much easier to apply the accessories and you also don't have to worry about accs conflicting.

Like I say... it's complicated. The download contains a graphic to tell you who needs what accessory in CAS.

HOWEVER, I have also made versions of all these poses where no accessories are needed AT ALL, because I personally don't like to use packs that require multiple accessories... and I'm not going to release stuff I wouldn't use. 🤣

Generally NZD$50 - $400, depending on the size and detail.

(Do check the exchange rate though - NZD$50 is USD $28 today for example.)

$50 gets you essentially a sketch/rough drawing, with or without colour. $400 will give you art you could use as a published book cover. I stopped using commission sheets just because I found it wasn't fair to either party. Every piece is unique and needs a proper price that works to the budget.

I can do physical art, but shipping from Aotearoa/New Zealand is a fucker, especially to the US. So I recommend digital/scanned drawings purely because the shipping is so dear and art is so easily damaged. If a physical painting or drawing is important to you though I can make it work, it's just going to cost a bit.

I'll draw most things, but as in all things retain the right to walk away if I'm not comfortable with the commission or how you're talking to me. I don't expect money until you're happy with the finished product, so nothing is on the line for the client.

the process is - email me the details, I can give you a proper quote for what you're after. I'll send some drafts, when you're happy with that I'll do the bulk of the actual drawing or painting, then we do some edits. When you're happy I send a paypal invoice for the quoted price.

The only time I charge extra is when either the job has grown in scope (say you start looking for a single pet portrait, and half way through drafting you want say, 4 dogs and 2 cats all in the same painting) or after the bulk of the work is done you want changes that would essentially mean starting from scratch. This mostly just means check the drafts carefully and I'll warn if what you're asking for will mean starting again.

Commissioning an artist can be intimidating, but I go out of my way to ensure we're both protected as much as possible. And if in doubt - ask :)

have not gotten around to adding them yet. <:) unfortunately it is on my long long list of things that need to get done. a few people have asked for them, so I can promise they will be added eventually.

i need to make new examples; which means i have to time the process, do it a few times, calculate a new price based on my current skill level.. which is an undertaking i unfortunately haven't had the time or energy to do lately !
