Also since he doesn't really have like. Canon? Parents, I'd like to think regardless of whatever his home situation was he spent a lot of time with Hala who is the person that got him his first binder.

Their (though strained later on due to what happened with Guzma) mentor and apprentice relationship is really sweet to me especially the fact it goes back to when he was just a little kid watching Hala's battles! I wish it was explored more in canon though

it seems that it's hard to stay in one place for any extended amount of time. it doesn't matter how skilled they are in handling the dead, it's always fending off the living that seems to be the issue.

Jupiter is often referred to as the star that failed. Max thinks about that, sometimes, when they're racing and he's just passed Daniel on track. He can look in his rearview mirrors and see the little three on the AlphaTauri—Daniel, in a shitty car he outperforms every weekend, and Max, already set for the podium.

When Max is particularly bored, he rewatches old races from 2014, ‘16, ‘18 and thinks about it, unbidden—how if Lewis and Max simply didn't exist, it might’ve been Daniel on the top step at the very end of the season. Daniel fighting for titles and wins, not letting anyone keep the 1st place cap on their head long enough to mess up their hair. If he'd just been a little quicker, a little more ruthless; if he'd stuck around long enough for the Honda engine, the RB19. If Daniel had just been a fraction of a second better.

Then Max feels bad for ever thinking such a thing. Not because it isn’t true, but because it sounds like something his dad would say.

Jos used to buy Max magazines full of interviews by Senna, Prost, Mansell. He said they were full of stars. He laughed at Max when they got home after Zandvoort in 2011, back when Max was still in karting and Daniel was just starting out in F1, and Max had said: "I want to be just like him."

That Christmas Jos bought Max a poster of Nigel Piquet and said, "This is the type of man you should be looking up to." Max hung it up on his ceiling that night and stared at it. He had thought, privately, that if Piquet was a star then he must have been one of those small stars, the ones that you can’t really see from Earth without a telescope. Daniel was closer, brighter. Sun-like.

He tore down the poster the next morning.

Jos was right, of course, to steer Max towards more successful heroes. Jos would never point to Daniel's article in GQ Sports and tell Max he's looking at a star. Daniel smiles at him, though, on the paddock and off, and it feels like sunshine.

He tells Daniel as much during the summer break, in Daniel's Monaco apartment, tipsy off some expensive wine Max can't even pronounce the name of.

"Jupiter is a very stupid planet," Max is ranting, unreasonably pissed about it. "You know, it has ninety-five moons? The fuck does it need ninety-five moons for? Stupid." He chugs another sip of wine, straight from the bottle. Daniel does the same.

"Jupiter?" Daniel muses after he swallows, less inebriated than Max but still drunk enough to have begun sitting on the couch upside down. The top of his skull almost touches the floor. "Mate, don't diss Jupiter like that. Space gets lonely, maybe."

Max snorts. "It is a planet, Daniel, it does not get lonely. It should just have one moon, or no moons. It is not very loyal."

"It is a planet, Maximus, it cannot be loyal," Daniel says back to him, snarky, in a high-pitched voice and a bad Dutch accent.

"Is that supposed to be me?" He shoves at him, accidentally causing Daniel's head to bang against the floor. Whatever. He deserves it. "Name one good thing about Jupiter."

Daniel shrugs as best as he can. "Biggest planet in our solar system or whatever the fuck. Why are we talking about Jupiter again?"

"Because it is awful, and my dad is not correct." Daniel laughs, at that.

"What? Does your dad, like, love Jupiter or something?"

Max points, accusatory. "See, that is exactly the point! He does not love Jupiter! In fact, he is awful about Jupiter!"

Max can almost see the gears in Daniel's head grind together slowly. "Then why are you dissing Jupiter?"

Max groans. His thoughts make less and less sense the more he goes on. "I am not, of course, dissing Jupiter. I am simply pointing out the fact that Jupiter is not a star and you, obviously, are a star." He's getting lost in his own, brilliant analogy.

Daniel says, "Oh yeah, Maxy?" He has his stupid smile on, the one that Max knows means he thinks Max is crazy but will indulge him anyway. "Well it's very nice that you think so."

"Of course I think so," Max scoffs, perfectly serious. He hates that he can't really look Daniel in the eye, sitting right-side-up. He opts to sit like Daniel, head towards the floor and legs slung over the back of the couch, so he can stare directly at him. "I am being serious."

"Well, I'm serious about that Jupiter shit. Best planet ever. Number one Jupiter defender, right here," Daniel slurs, pointing at himself and flashing his brilliant, sun-warm smile.

Max can't help but smile too.

"You are very stupid," he says, and it sounds like something else. "I am trying to tell you that I think you—you." He flushes, cutting himself off and looking away from Daniel, up towards the ceiling.

"Ah, whatever Maxy. You just can't accept Jupiter's superiority."

Max tries one last time, to make him understand. "Jupiter is called the star that failed," he says, trying to prove something.

Daniel is looking at him, he can feel it. His stare burns a hole in the side of Max's head. "I'm okay with that," he says, suddenly very very soft. "Jupiter's the biggest planet in the solar system. He's got a whole ninety-five moons."

"But he is not a star," Max scowls.

Daniel smiles again, smaller. Kinder. "He gets to orbit a star. He gets to be the biggest planet, and orbit a fucking star, the best star in the universe. That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me."

Max shakes his head and says, "You are unbelievable." He reaches over to grab Daniel's stupid face and kiss him, and promptly falls off the couch.

I just rewatched the episode WHAT IF SOLAR ALIVE IN VRCHAT and I just realised something.

When Solar died, Nexus got breakdown but he got back pretty quickly to fix things. He still holds the hope that he can bring Solar back, and work himself to the bones to make that happen. It hurts him, but he is particularly 'moved on', got back on his feet to find some way to get Solar back.

But in the dream when Sun died, according to what Solar said, Nexus did nothing. He is just laying on the floor, being useless, day by day, just like how Moon's Solar didn't do anything since when Sun's Solar died. He supposed with that intelligence, he will come up with something to revive Sun, Right?

But in Nexus's dream, losing Sun has broken him to the point when he is unconscious to everything. He didn't do anything, and Solar is the one who handles anything.

That's when I realised, when Solar died, Moon still has Sun. Sun cooked for him, got him to bed, stayed with him and hugged him until he fell asleep. Sun did everything to cheer him up, and the only one whom Nexus talked to and almost spilled out the beans before the 'crazy arc' happened.

And when Sun died in Nexus's dream, Solar couldn't fulfill Sun's role.

Sun is literally the light, the emotional support for Nexus, the I am here that helps Nexus cling to reality.

Because Nexus was obsessed with how he is the only one who can fix things, right?

Sun is the one who always needs his help, the one who always sticks by his side no matter what happens, the one who always waits for him at home.

If Solar is the one who he hangs out with, the friend he loves to tag along, the partners in crime if you per say, then Sun is home.

He never can feel useless when he is with the Sun.

That is the reason why in the dream, Nexus breakdown and couldn't distinguish realities and dream anymore.

Because he loves Solar, sure, like a brother, Solar is his besties but Solar is not his home. Solar doesn't know how to comfort him, doesn't know how to ease Nexus like Sun does.. Solar is just like Nexus, he only knows how to fix things, but Sun is gone, and what is the point of fixing anymore if the only one that makes his world meaningful is disappearing.

Some small parts are when Nexus feels he needs to check on Sun because Sun rarely accompanied him anymore. (The addiction to wine thing)

Why? If he was so obsessed with hanging with Solar, why did he need to do that?

Because part of him scares that Sun doesn't need him anymore, that Sun is splitting away from him. That is why he checked on Sun, to know for sure that Sun still needs him, and he still can fix things, fix Sun.

Sun is not only his brother, he is his Big brother, his anchor to prove that, he is still needed.

And when he becomes Nexus, that consciousness Sun always needs his help twisted to become Sun used him, Sun abandoned him.

He is self conscious thinking because he can fix things that are the whole of his values.

And he is so loved when Sun needs his help, (to prove he is better than Moon, to prove that he has someone stay by his side) but now, that feels dirty, like he was used.

That is also the reason why when Nexus kidnap Sun it feels empty. Because Sun is still his big brother, and Nexus still holds a lot of conflict emotions towards Sun, no matter what he said. It is like the rebel son coming home from his drunken party and yelling at his mother but still couldn't add the actually cruel words.

Because he hates Sun, but he still wants him. He is just a sad sad boy who thinks being a God would fix some hole in his chest but in reality, just the word I am sorry will take him back home.

I wonder if Nexus is seriously wounded and Sun gives up everything to run back to Nexus and try to help him. And they will talk and say sorry

@rinhaler - luxe is def on my top 3, she comes up with very organic scenes. even if it's a simple plot she can develop it so originally. I recently read her underground fighter!sukuna and i'm still thinking about it.

@laudthingcat has the best headcanons in the jjk fandom hands down, it’s the perfect dose of hot funny and cute, pick anything from her masterlist it’s guaranteed you’ll have a good time reading it. when you moan their name in your sleep in particular gives me butterflies

The hum of the diner was comforting. The case you were working on was an interesting one, but you'd needed the break to clear your mind. Nothing like a crappy diner cheeseburger to make you feel better.

You were just about to take a bite when Jack slide into the seat in front of you. A wide grin plastered across his face. You couldn't help but smile back at him. When Jack smiled it was the most contagious thing in the world.

"You want to tell me what's got you grinning like that?" You teased, taking a bite into your burger.

"Oh, just the usual crack in the case done by yours truly." He leaned forward on the table, grabbing a fry off of your plate. You pushed your plate closer to him, enjoying Jack's playful mood.

"I would expect nothing less from the King of the Lab," you quipped back. You would have thought you hung the moon the way he looked at you.

"Yes! Thank you!" He said enthusiastically, slamming his hand on the table. "Sometimes it really does feel like you're the only one who appreciates my genius." Jack let out an dramatic sigh, his blue eyes gazing at you.

You rolled your eyes at his comment, watching as he popped another one of his fries in his mouth.

"Do you want something to eat? Or are you just going to keep stealing my food?" You raised your eyebrow at him.

He shrugged putting his hands up in surrender, "What happened to sharing was caring?"

"That went away when you stole half of my food - hey!" You laughed trying to swat his hand away as he stole another fry.

Jack leaned forward his head resting in hand. "You love me."

"I do, but your pushing it Hodgins," you teased, leaning forward to capture his lips with yours.

"Am I?" He raised his eyebrows at you pecking you once more.

"Oh, that's so sweet I'm getting cavities. Adorable."

"Hi, Angie," Jack laughed. Both of you turning to look at her. She took a seat next to you, stealing what was left of your fries. You fought a sigh, catching Jack's eyes. He was trying not to laugh himself.

"What?" Angela mumbled?

You and Jack only looked at each other.

"You know what? I don't want to know. Brennan's looking for both of you by the way."

You gave a forlorn look at your burger, and started collected your things.

"Can I-"

"Go ahead, Angie, somebody should enjoy it," you said remorsefully. Angela just smiled at you taking a big bite of your burger.

"Thanks, sweetie!" She called out to you as you and Jack made your way out of the diner. He held the door open for you as you walked through.

You walked side by side back to the lab.

"I was thinking-"

"Don't hurt yourself," you teased.

He let out a breathy laugh, bumping your shoulder with his own. "You basically are spending every night at my place anyways, half your stuff is there already..." his voice trailed off, as he sneaked a glance at you. Both of you walking side by side.

You stopped walking, taking shelter from the sun under the awning of a nearby building.

"Jack?"

"What would you - how would you feel about moving in? With me?"

Your grew slack, your eyes searching his. He was more reserved and bashful than you could ever remember seeing him. They vulnerability clear on his face.

"Uh, you don't have to answer right away. In fact, you know you can just-"

"Yes."

"Yes?"

"Yes, Jack. I want to move in with you."

"Really? That- that's-"

You cut him off by kissing him. His right out reach out to cradle your head, while the other placed itself along your waist, his thumb grazing against you.

Reluctantly, you pulled away, both of you breathless.

"Hodgins?"

"Yeah?" He licked his lips, still holding you.

"Brennan's going to kill us if we don't get over there."

Jack let out a breathless laugh. Placing his arm over your shoulder you both began your walk back to the Jeffersonian. He placed a gentle kiss against your temple, already excitedly planning your next steps together.

rewatched the marvels for my first watch anniversary last night and i had things i wanted to say

carol sleeping flat on her bed, no blankets, like a vampire is so funny. just the horizontal 🧍‍♀️

on that note, her mattress looks so uncomfortable. it’s like silver and shiny and pretty thin. someone get this woman into a double bed with hundreds of throw pillows and heavy rain outside the window right now.

is it to regulate her heat? is it like a cooling mattress? i’m very concerned about the quality of this fictional woman’s sleep schedule. i have a feeling it’s non-existent.

does she wake up feeling rested when she sleeps with the skrull-device? or does it hinder her sleep? because evidently she can’t get comfortable with it on (see point 1) and she’s able to snap out of that state pretty quickly (when she has the flashbacks to maria and all three of them jump up and turn it off.)

is she not sleeping at all?

monica’s sunglasses. where did they come from. because she was wearing her uniform. in space. then she wore carol’s clothes. are they carol’s glasses? this woman can literally restart a sun but she needs sunglasses during the summer? or are they simply to carry on her top gun thing. does she purchase them for the vibes only?

at what point did carol marry yan. how long has she been married. did she turn up to buy groceries for an ill maria and have to confess to her she was a married woman. was she married pre-blip? does she still have the funky wedding dress?

and can she do her sparkly sailor-moon-esque transformation at any time? i just think that’d be hilarious. princess dress on the go at all times.
