Audio Drama Sunday - 28th January ✨
Hours of data collection 😤👎 Hours of data collection with audio drama 🤭🫶
👻 @tellnotalespod (S2E2) If I had a ghost in my life, I’d want what Gemma and Micah have 🥺 I really hate this back and forth between Leo and Frank! HEY! Frank! That’s ~my~ Leo to be fond of, not yours! I’m so excited to catch up with Julia and Riley next week!
🦀 @thesiltverses (38) Oh my god, what an incredible episode! The exploration of a dementia-like process as being stalked by a god of death - PLEASE. The sound design was fantastic, I felt like I could really see the surroundings - the encroaching woods, the smudged prayer marks on the floor, the murky silt of the river - it was a beautiful experience. And I wish I could show you my face when I heard that Faulkner had got his testosterone from the CHURCH. NO! No no no. The manipulation! Show me a character in this show that isn’t so supremely messed up!! I want to help them all 😭
🧳 Travelling Light by @monstrousproductions (10) Another lovely instalment from my favourite wholesome sci-fi show. I couldn’t agree more with the description of home-sickness, you truly can’t predict what will set off the pangs for home!
🏛 @the-mistholme-museum (INEVITABLE) I have been hanging off the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen with the Beast. I love Not Eagle popping up as a contradictory voice and ATG’s completely cool, calm and collected response to it. I’m so unsure about the HoRestoration taking the Beast in . . . I used to trust her but after these cards . . . I’m less sure.
🌨️ @thewhitevault (6) I feel like I need to listen to this episode again to really let that Family timeline stick in my mind. Everything seems to be ramping up in Goshawk, and I suspected that there might be a few more unexpected, unwelcome guests soon!
❤️‍🔥 The Love Talker (7) This episode took us back in time to fill in some of the blanks regarding the main characters’ pasts. It’s very interesting to see how different Ren’s ability seems from the outside - it makes you wonder how it’s taken her so long to realise that the affect she has on people isn’t ‘normal’?? Is she a victim or a monster? I suspect it's gonna be both.
🏢 @somewhereohio (S2E7) Ooooh!! I was wondering when we’d get the answer regarding why Jasmine/Olivia was seen in that truck in Scarlet’s memory in S1!!! I feel like I need to go back and listen to their first encounter again to see if there’s any glimmer of a sign that Scarlet remembered her! The way Orange describes his variance sounds like a bit of a curse - but I have faith that he can do some good with it before the end of the season!!
🍾 I finished S2 of @ameliapodcast and it was so much fun! I loved the reveal that Amelia is a real, living person with an active role in the Project and I love that it’s Julia Morizawa!
🌫️ @souloperatorpod (2) I’ll be honest, I don’t really have a solid grasp on what’s happening here yet but the writing is very compelling, and I adore the music! I’m looking forward for the fog to lift a little!
♦️The Grotto (4) I went into this episode forewarned but definitely not forearmed… goddamn. Can I have a new episode soon, please?
🖥️ The Magnus Protocol (3) .jmj error HM? REALLY. I really am hoping that this will end with our TMA faves hopping out of the computers but I would also be satisfied with an explanation that whatever this thing is has listened to them read so many statements that it’s taken their voices, if nothing else… Also, I love Colin - it’s so rare that a piece of media gives us a character who is sooo batshit right from the word go. I love him. He’s 1000% going to die.
Hoping for a good week for everyone!!

Single Dragons List
This is a list of dragons that are currently looking for mates/romantic relationships. If you’d like to ship your dragons with mine feel free to message me here on tumblr or through a PM on FR. Please note that we do not have to breed our dragons together. For most of my dragons I’d actually prefer not to breed. RPing is also optional and I’d like to keep it SFW. Also I am an adult, and am not comfortable shipping with minors.
Note: Most of my dragons have only feral forms. If your clan is strictly gijinkas however I could make gijinkas of my dragons to ship with yours, but it’ll have to be an AU (If that makes sense)

Relationship Points
Shuichi Saihara - Boyfriend and Investigation Partner (Holms to my Watson) - My nickname for him: “Shu-kun” - The one who keeps me calm during the Killing Game
Angie Yonaga - Best friend - Gives advice when I’m stressed - Helps guide me to the right answers when I’m lost
Gonta Gokuhara - Didn’t know his talent at first - Really mysterious - Possibly Mastermind, but unsure
Himiko Yumeno - A sweet introverted dork - Apparently becomes more talkative during DnD Campaigns - Might do a campaign with her and a few others at some point
K1-B0 (Kiibo) - Not sure what to make of a puppet who seems semi-independent - Is he “alive” via magic or technology? - Was made by Miu - Do not talk about Pinnochio around him (seems jealous and annoyed)
Kaito Momota - Very energetic - Bit of an “air-head” (excuse the joke) - He encourages almost everyone
Kirumi Tojo - Intimidating to talk to - Very calm and nice, but she’s really famous so I feel flustered around her.
Kokichi Ouma - Untrustworthy - He lies a lot and he never lets you know if he’s manipulated you or not. - Bad guy - Misunderstood, is helping Shuichi find a way to end the Killing Game after faking both of their deaths.
Korekiyo Shinguji - I can’t keep up with his mind most of the time. - Talks about stuff I don’t fully understand. - I start questioning life if I listen to him for too long...
Maki Harukawa - Distant, but interesting. - Her Northern Goshawk, Ieyasu, is named after Tokugawa Ieyasu and seems to like me a bit. - It’s hard to tell though...
Miu Iruma - She makes really pretty and interesting puppets. - Making Kiibo apparently gave her the title of her talent - She won’t tell anyone how Kiibo is so “alive.” (Says it’s magic one time and technology another.) - Really pervy...
Rantaro Amami - I tried to have him teach me how to do parkour. - I nearly twisted my ankle and ended up with quite a few bumps and scratches. - We’ll just stick with friendly conversations in the future.
Ryoma Hoshi - Seems rather depressed - Vents via poetry - He’s really talented with words... - Seems to dismiss his talent a lot...
Tenko Chabashira - Talks about Crossfit a lot - She’s really strong and fit - I don’t know why, but I feel really flustered when she compliments me on my work? - Seems to be more fond of girls than guys. - Really fun to talk to one-on-one.
Tsumugi Shirogane - Corrects me on my misunderstood history - Seems pretty quiet and friendly until someone messes up a historical fact. - I should talk with her more about non-history things...
-- --- --
Remembered Events
Arrival to Killing Game - Flew in on an airplane with Shuichi sitting next to me. - We seemed aware of what we were getting into, but didn’t seem to have a choice to leave it. - I was stressed over how to survive while Shuichi tried to calm me down. - We had a long history and were already a couple at this point. - Once the plane landed, we headed to the meeting point on the (island? deserted location? isolated dome?) location of the Killing Game, running into Gonta on the way - Friendly like game Gonta, but dressed athletically, making me assume he had an athletic talent (not correct) - Ran ahead of us to make it to the Conservatory at the center of the Killing Game Location - Everyone has gathered in front of it already. - Introductions took place here.
3rd Trial - Victim: Shuichi Saihara - I was emotionally distraught and wasn’t in my right state of mind. - I jumped on every possible theory proposed and lashed out at almost everyone. - I missed Shuichi, his guidance, and his love. - Eventually, we were all pretty sure Miu and Kiibo were the ones who did it, with Kiibo acting as the weapon for Miu as he’s quite literally her puppet. - It was Angie suggesting we had the answer wrong that slowly leads to the true culprit to be revealed. - Kokichi had committed the crime and used a mass hypnosis session to mess with our heads about what happened. - He was executed and I left the trial in a hurry to mourn the loss of my partner alone.
Post-3rd Trial  - While walking around the outskirts of the wall around the location, a voice suddenly called out to me, leading me to a broken building near the wall. - I followed it and suddenly found two people I thought were dead: Shuichi and Kokichi. - I cried a lot and hugged Shuichi, so happy to see him alive. - They explained to me what happened to them and how Kokichi faked Shuichi’s death (using a body from a previous trial and using the hypnosis session to make us perceive it as Shuichi and get our suspicions on Miu and Kiibo), faked his own death (with another quick hypnosis trick), and how the trial was done to help push me to become the new SHSL Detective in Shuichi’s place. - Shuichi and Kokichi needed to “die” so they could figure out how to end the Killing Game behind the scenes and save everyone, but also needed to make sure I could handle things on my own still inside the Killing Game. - Now knowing this, we set up that building as our meeting spot for the future, where were could meet nearly daily and have them tell me what they learned. - This would bring us closer to our escape.

(I’ll add more as I remember it.)

Do birds in cages suffer all their lives
Tumblr media
Do birds in cages suffer all their lives? Define suffer? If you don't know any better how do you know you are suffering? As good as our intentions are met by many things, they don't necessarily meet our bird's "instinctual expectations". Define a “cage”. If you talking about a big metal thing with bars that sits in your family room? In reality the entire home is a cage because the bird is not allowed to leave it unless it’s in a smaller travel cage We make ourselves feel good by purchasing the most expensive cage money can buy. Ensure that their diet is organic and includes GMO free bird food pellets.   We clip their wings so they don't fly into walls. We give them few alternatives to forage and expect them to understand the meaning of NO when they destroy a humanly possession.   We interact with them, when we're not at work or driving carpool or at the gym or meeting with friends.   We don't give our birds the opportunity to select a mate from dozens or perhaps hundreds in a flock. They either get a mate that we choose for them, become their mate or the get dejected and have no mate at all.   So far that’s an oversimplification. Birds been around for 100 to 200 million years depending upon available information   That's a hell of a large instinctual footprint for species. I think we don't pay enough attention to our birds instinctual footprint.   In a recent post entitled Let’s start with forgetting that BIRDS DO NOT LIKE CHANGE! I make the point that we forget how fast bird's process thought.   They can't help it but they are hardwired to think three times faster than mammals. Humans are awed by the speed of cheetahs. In one Google answer box the cheetah is listed as the fastest animal in the world with speeds (in short bursts) of 68 to 75 miles an hour.   Hawks fly  horizontally at 40 MPH, literally without a worry of flying into a tree. The are able to “anticipate” the next “way out”   Peregrine Falcons have been clocked it over 300 miles an hour in a dive.   Goshawk video   I'm an old guy but I still ride really fast motorcycles. My Citibank is a 1977 Kawasaki KZ 1000. In that particular production year it was the fastest production Mike made.   My country bike is a 2009 triumph rocket three with the biggest production engine made coming in at 2300 CC's with the top end of 140 MPH. I've seen 135 MPH but the speedometer was vibrating too much to get an accurate read.   I recently had the opportunity to ride a Ducati Diavale for a couple of days https://www.facebook.com/MitchRezman/videos/10207605754256488/   I can tell you unequivocally that my brain lags far behind the speed of a motorcycle.I am riding   In other words I'm suffering by not been able to accurately predict what's going to happen traveling at approximately 150 ft./s (100 mph). Yet birds have the ability to calmly make certain assumptions about "what will happen next"   After World War II,  Harvard professor BF skinner propsed that pigeons could be used for guided missile systems. ISYN (I sh*t you not)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnKyOfNuSoo   My point is we bring these superb animals into our home, the ones that can blow ships out of the ocean, see a mouse at a mile and spend all their waking sunlit hours in the wild traveling across thousands of acres seeking food in dozens of secretive remembered areas.   Then we fear we will upset them by placing a new bird toy in their birdcage.   Then we fear we will upset them by placing a new bird toy in their birdcage.   Not a typo - That bird in your cage   That's not a typo - I say that twice to make you really think about the cruelty you subject your bird to by not providing something new at least once daily if not all throughout the day.   "I don't have the time to do all that".   Really? - biz card video   We can't leave the house in a metropolitan area without a 12 pound backpack coontaining synthesized vitamin water, organic snack bars and enough electronics to control a small satellite   That bird in your cage can fend for itself in the wild for decades with nothing more than its feathers, beak and zygodactyl feet.   Birds want and need to fly. Humans feel they are better off with their wings clipped. This begs the question, does a bird who cannot fly but wants to - suffer?   Does a bird understand that its "wings are clipped"   Do they make the Association when they lose their balance on a perch?   Do they make the Association when they begin to train the primary feathers but their tongue feels the rough edges of a cut feather shaft?   Birds seek variety that nature offers in terms of nutrition. Nuts, bugs, plants, fruit. Yet we insist on feeding them engineered food called pellets with each and every piece being the same size of the next and the last.   So we have to ask ourselves, if we are feeding our birds pellets because we think it is good for them but they are thoroughly bored with the consistent shape size and taste - are they suffering?   Peaches our Senegal parrot hates every human on the planet but me. We thought when we adopted her she would gravitate to Catherine, because the woman who ran the rescue that she spent the first seven years of her life, well was a woman.   Peaches took to me immediately. What cemented the deal was when I sprained my ankle two months after we got her, I spent six weeks holed up in my bedroom 24/7 with my little green feather companion.   That pretty much sealed the deal.   She is very unhappy when I am not around to directly engage with her.   Today a young couple came into the shop purchasing all the supplies they needed for their new four-year-old Quaker parrot.   Catherine was helping them out and introduce them to peaches who was in her cage. She is always in a cage now because she is fully flighted and we can take no chances.   Even for the brief time that we take her out and place her into her travel cage, the front door gets locked so there are no accidents.   Anyway there was a question that I needed to answer for the folks and when I came within a foot of peaches cage, the positive disposition towards me chain so much that the young lady who is watching this exclaimed "only Gosh, I can't believe how much she likes you - is that apparent"!   Does peaches suffer when I'm not around? I think so.   When humans break the law, we put them in cages.   When we bring our birds home to provide the best care possible, we put them in cages. When the 4 budgies are home alone, I put on news radio for whiite noise. If I have to leave Peaches at home, she ends up listening to the news too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRG-i15zyU4 In that she likes to dance, she clearly likes music. Does she wish I would let Alexa play an endless shuffle of Van Morrison?   Are the droning news voices making her irritated. Does she ask herself "Why can't I hear dancing sounds?  This is just miserable". The folks in India have a very sharp opinion of keeping birds and cages   "CHANDIGARH: In what would come as a disappointment for bird lovers who have pet birds at home, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has issued a circular against confining birds in cages. Confirming the development, Jagdish Kochar, a city-based member of AWBI, said that a circular has been issued by the board for complete ban on keeping birds in cages, as it amounted to cruelty towards animals.   Kochar informed that the board has taken the decision after taking into account the decision of the Gujarat high court passed in May this year, that held that keeping birds in cages amounted to illegal confinement and was against the fundamental right of birds to move freely. Read more   https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/No-caging-birds-nowampnbsp/articleshow/10987049.cms   We actually have several customers who buy our products and bringing them back with them to India in I was able to clarify this law with one of them.   As it stands now only the national bird the Indian ringneck, is for been to be kept as a pet bird. Thus the Indian bird markets are still thriving   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etCOKa29Hng   Circling back to our domestic captive birds. Anyone who follows me, my writings and my rants knows how important I feel but the quality and duration of light are birds are exposed to.   Light provides far more signals to birds than to mammals. We need light to see what were doing, so we can read and work on the computer.   We mammals have circadian rhythms. We get SAD in the winter because of the lack of sunlight.   Birds rely on sun light (and moon light) cycles to help determine when it's time to breed, molt, migrate.   These are the same signals that birds have been receiving since the earth has been rotating around the sun.   We bring them into our homes and put them by a big picture window, filled with sunlight that goes away it 6 PM starting in late October early November.   Most parrots are equatorial animals and expect 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of darkness.   All parrots have the ability to see UVA and UVB rays which are filtered out by that big picture window the birdcage is in front of.   So always sending the wrong signals to our birds by not providing 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.   You betcha! That stresses amount makes them suffer.   We can help them overcome this for the simple lamp in a timer - raise your hand if you have a light cycle strategy for your captive bird.   I thought so.   I always catch a lot of flak especially in Facebook when you talk about how to hold the bird properly especially for medical care or wing and or nail trimming.   The methods I use were taught to me by veterinarians and bird behaviorist.   Regardless people talk about traumatizing the bird by restraining it. "I I would never do that to my bird".   But these birds run our homes for decades. To say they will never encounter a household accident is patently naïve.   A single encounter with some scotch tape or duct tape that clings to their feathers. At 715 at night 15 minutes after your veterinarians office closes.   Because you refused to learn how to hold a bird and don't know what to do to get this stuff off the bird without cutting feathers - your bird suffers even more.   The best strategy we can use is an holistic strategy which means we look at everything   You can not buy "holistic" bird food or any holistic pet food for that matter. Somewhere at some point in time, the word "holistic" came to mean "healthy".   Here's the problem. "Holistic" is not a thing, it is multifaceted a point of view. No "thing" can be holistic - not a food - not a car - not a plant.   ho·lis·tic hōˈlistik/Submit adjective PHILOSOPHY characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.   MEDICINE characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.   now you know.   We advocate that you look at your bird(s) "holistically" meaning: nutrition - cage environment - lighting/light cycles - out of the cage environment - whether clipped or flighted - training  - sexuality - species - foraging/enrichment opportunities - exercise - frequency of bathing - other feathered flock members - human flock members   We took them out of the sky. It's time to step up and keep the suffering to a minimum Read the full article
