[A3!] â
Main Story | Act 14 - DREAM CATCHER | Episode 30 - Masterâs Little Wish
Ali Baba: âHelm hard to starboard! I knew it, boat trips make it feel way more like an adventure.â
Aladdin: âSmall island ahoy~!â
Ali Baba: âAlright, full speed ahead!âÂ
Sinbad: âMaybe we should examine the surroundings a little more closelyâŚâ
Ali Baba: âNot stopping for anything is the key to adventure!âÂ
Scheherazade: âAnd you wonder why youâve been failing for this long.â
¡ ⢠ââ ٠⤠٠ââ ⢠¡
Ali Baba: âYep, thereâs nothing here.â
Sinbad: âSo what was even the point of getting off the boat?â
Ali Baba: âDonât you know that landing on a deserted island is part of the romanticism of adventure?â
*Waves crash*
Aladdin: âUwah!? Did the island just move!?âÂ
Sinbad: âMy boat is being swept away!âÂ
Scheherazade: âThis isnât an island! This is the back of a whale!âÂ
*Waves crash*
Ali Baba: âEUUGHH!? WEâRE GONNA DROWN!!âÂ
Aladdin: âSave us, Genie of the Lamp!âÂ
Genie of the Lamp: âYouâre not my master, so I canât reallyâŚâÂ
Sinbad: âTHATâS NOT HELPFUL!âÂ
Aladdin: âBlublubblublub (Just letting you know, I canât swim~).â
Ali Baba: âPULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, ALADDIN!âÂ
Aladdin: âBluublbublublub (Please, God, just let me go in peaceâŚ).âÂ
Scheherazade: âDonât start praying! Youâre gonna jinx yourself!âÂ
*Puff of smoke*
???: âYou called, Master?â
Ali Baba: âWHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âI am the Genie of the Ring! Iâm here to grant Masterâs little wish!âÂ
Aladdin: âBlublbub (Save us!).âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âHuh? What?â
Aladdin: âBlubblubub (Bring us back to our ship!).âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âAha, yâsee, stuff like instantaneous movement is kind of a big wish and I donât really do that sort of thing.â
Genie of the Ring: âI can handle it if you make a smaller wish.âÂ
Ali Baba: âJust what kinda shady salesman are you!?âÂ
Scheherazade: âThat doesnât matter, we just need him to do something so we donât drown!âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âYeah, so wishes that are vague like that are kind of hard for me to do too~.âÂ
Aladdin: âBlubbubublub.â
Ali Baba: âHEY, YOUR MASTER IS SINKING!âÂ
Sinbad: âWhat about asking him to get the boat to move closer to us!?âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âThatâs a little bit too big of a target~ The sum of its sides canât be more than about 300 centimeters~.â
Scheherazade: âOkay, Mr. Post Office! What exactly CAN you do then!?âÂ
Aladdin: âBlublub!âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âHuh? What?â
Aladdin: âBlublbublub! (A bag).â
Genie of the Ring: âAhh, I might be able to do thatâŚâ
Sinbad: âBag!? What are you going to do with--?â
Aladdin: âBlubbublublublublub! (A bag filled with air).â
Genie of the Ring: âAs you wish~!âÂ
*The wish is granted*
Ali Baba: âI see! If you hold onto this, youâll float!âÂ
Aladdin: âHaaah~ I thought I was gonna dieâŚâ
Sinbad: âAt least he managed to save him.â
Scheherazade: âSo what are we gonna do now?â
¡ ⢠ââ ٠⤠٠ââ ⢠¡
Ali Baba: âUghh~, how did we manage to wash up on this tiny island!?âÂ
Scheherazade: âCan you make up your damn mind? If you hadnât said we needed to land on a tiny island in the first place then we wouldnât have--.â
Ali Baba: âOh, so if I see an island Iâm just supposed to NOT go to it!?âÂ
Aladdin: âOkay, okay, you guys can continue your loverâs quarrel later.â
Sinbad: âFor now, letâs gather some food and find a place to sleep before it gets dark. We also need to figure out if this island is even safe.â
Ali Baba: âWeâre counting on you, Sinbad.â
Scheherazade: âYouâre really starting to seem like a sailor.â
Sinbad: âI did a lot of thinking and preparation before I set off on this journey, you know! Unlike you all!âÂ
Sinbad: âYou guys didnât even do anything to prepare for this adventure, and you didnât even have everything you needed in the first place.â
Sinbad: âThe only reason youâre on this trip is because you suddenly just decided to go on it LITERALLY the day before we left and--.âÂ
Ali Baba: âOh, we could probably make a tent out of those trees and some grass!âÂ
Aladdin: âNice~.â
Sinbad: âYou really have never listened to a single goddamn word in your life, have you, Ali Baba?â
Scheherazade: âNow you know what I have to deal with.âÂ
¡ ⢠ââ ٠⤠٠ââ ⢠¡
Aladdin: âItâs done, itâs done! We should be able to sleep in this.â
Genie of the Lamp: âI desire a fluffy cushion. If you put me on the ground, my lamp will get scratched.â
Ali Baba: âYou canât get one of those! Weâre on a deserted island! Thereâs nothing we can do, so suck it up.âÂ
Scheherazade: âWe got some fruit.â
Sinbad: âAnd I caught some fish too.âÂ
Ali Baba: âPerfect timing, take a look.â
Scheherazade: âOoh~, thatâs pretty nice.âÂ
Sinbad: âYou did a good job.â
Aladdin: âAlright, letâs start getting dinner ready!âÂ
*Wind wooshes*
???: âKEEEE!!âÂ
Ali Baba: âWait, what was that?â
Sinbad: âDidnât that kind of sound like wings flapping?â
Aladdin: âOhnoohgodohnoohgod, the tent is gonna be blown away!âÂ
Scheherazade: âWhat was that? Some kind of big-- Bird!?âÂ
Ali Baba: âGYAGHH!! ITâS GOT ME!âÂ
Scheherazade: âItâs taking us away!âÂ
Sinbad: âEveryone better hold onto the tent tight if you donât want to fall!âÂ
Aladdin: âHIEEGH!âÂ
¡ ⢠ââ ٠⤠٠ââ ⢠¡
*Tent is put down*
Ali Baba: âOwowowowwâŚâ
Scheherazade: âWhere are we? Is this⌠ore?âÂ
Ali Baba: âAmazing! These are all diamonds! If I mine all these out, Iâll be rich as--.â
Aladdin: âUwagh! This place is crawling with giant snakes!âÂ
Sinbad: âWeâre surrounded!âÂ
Aladdin: âEeeep, what are we gonna doâŚ?â
Ali Baba: âThis is the perfect time for the Genie of the Ring! Genie of the Ring! Make these giant snakes go away!âÂ
*Puff of smoke*
Genie of the Ring: âThatâs a bit too much for me to deal withâŚâ
Aladdin: âThen just keep us from benign bitten by the giant snakes!âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âThatâs kind of a big ask tooâŚâ
Scheherazade: âAnd youâre still as useless as ever!âÂ
Roc: âKEEEE!âÂ
Aladdin: âUWAH! Even the birds are here!âÂ
Sinbad: âThatâs it! Genie of the Ring, can you get us some raw meat?âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âRaw meat, huh? I can probably manage that. I can only get you the meat of birds or small animals though.âÂ
Ali Baba: âThatâs limited to size too?âÂ
Sinbad: âThen get us some raw meat!âÂ
Genie of the Ring: âAs you wi~sh~.âÂ
*The wish is granted*
Ali Baba: âWhat do we do with the raw meat?âÂ
Aladdin: âAre we using it as bait?â
Scheherazade: âBut with snakes that big, weâll run out in no time.âÂ
Sinbad: âPut it on top of the tent. Now hold on to the tent!âÂ
Aladdin: âHuh? What?âÂ
Roc: âKEEEE!âÂ
Aladdin: âAghhh, here we go again!âÂ
Ali Baba: âItâs being brought in by the raw meat.âÂ
Scheherazade: âYouâre right, it is.âÂ
Aladdin: âUwaaagh! Itâs got us again!âÂ
Sinbad: âJust let the bird take us and get us out of here!âÂ
¡ ⢠ââ ٠⤠٠ââ ⢠¡
*Wind wooshes*
Ali Baba: âYouâre a genius, Sinbad!âÂ
Sinbad: âBut we still have no clue where itâs going to drop us.âÂ
Scheherazade: âWell, at least we got out of that valley of snakes.âÂ
Ali Baba: âAlright, letâs set off on our adventure through the sky!âÂ
Roc: âKEEEE!âÂ
Aladdin: âGYAAAHH!âÂ
Ali Baba: âHOW DID IT DROP US ALREADY!?âÂ
*Splash*
Scheherazade: âThe ocean again!? Weâll drown!âÂ
Aladdin: âBlubblbublub.âÂ
*Ali Baba pulls Scheherazade onto the tent and Sinbad pulls Aladdin onto it*
Sinbad: âThe tent managed to keep us from sinking.âÂ
Aladdin: âWhat if we just keep drifting away like thisâŚ?âÂ
Scheherazade: âLook! Thereâs an island over there!âÂ
Ali Baba: âOkay, everyone, start paddling!âÂ
Sinbad: âHeave-ho! Heave-ho!â

Beyond Canon re: p695-707
Oooh, I had seen people theorize the letter was from Rose, glad to see it is indeed by Tavros.
Wow, he seems a lot more articulate in writing, or maybe it's just a long time since I've read his logs/dialogues.
It's intriguing that Yiffy might like Tavros best out of the four kids, given his relation to Jane. Or well, it's that she tolerates him best. His introvert personality might help most, I think.
Gotta love Harry indeed helping himself to the trail mix. And wouldn't you know it, of course Vrissy & Harry go outside again. It's like the nature of the danger is still not sunken in with Vrissy. That might be changing soon now.
Because eesh, Jade realizes that Yiffy's gone, and gets distracted. Did she use her vision omnifold? You know, what she needed glasses for to do during the session, but which might come naturally now that she's a Space god & dog tier?
I can only hope her current efforts (trying to protect an empty spaceship as she thought it housed all the kids) aren't counted as Heroic. But I'm not hopeful.
And that Jane actually decides to press the button on her orbital laser... Ughh.
Gotta wonder how the Point comes out of this. The old meteor is probably done for, but that piece of equipment might be made of hardier stuff.
In any case, I presume John getting blasted wouldn't count as Heroic. But we didn't see if Roxy (and Calliope) were near - though from Rose's predicition I presume Calliope at least is elsewhere.
Wow, the blast not only can be seen from the tower I presume was where Dirk went to die, it's also causing the earth to shake all the way over there.
The laser looks similar to Ahab's Crosshairs, come to think of it.
I'll admit, I thought this was really it for Act 1, it felt like a similar note to end on like Homestuck Act 1. I appreciate the flash is still gonna be a part of this Act, presumably.
Felt weird to see the story using orange curtains, but now I realize it's also the font color of the Beyond Canon site. It's also presumably the colour of the session that Dirk's people will initiate.
Speaking of:
My god, of course my first thoughts when seeing grey hands were trolls. But then I noticed the claws, and thus...
Of freaking course. I hadn't considered it, but of course some of the people's are already in contact with the Candy timeline. Event horizons be damned. ;) Guess the timeline isn't so isolated, after all.
Specifically, note, they've contacted Vrissy. Apart from her status as the child of two of the rebellion leaders, I wonder what might have motivated this person to contact them.
I mean, now we can really start to theorize about the four Candy kids to enter a session of their own and gaining classpects! (I guess we'll just assume for now their dreamselves are all still asleep.)
But first.
gavageCunctation's quirk appears to be about a bomb with a lit wick. And at the end of the conversation their computer exploded. It didn't look that good in the picture either, with those cracks and leaks. Like an unholy combination of human and trolltech.
Is that indicative of the species? Are Dirk and Rose's attempts at sentient life actually incredibly genetically unstable and at risk of dying out in a few generations (at this point in Deltritus' timeline, I mean)?
So, the new GC is contacting Vrissy. It's a parallel to Calliope talking with Jane, and Karkat talking with Jade. Not much else we can conclude from that, I think, beyond that it might very well be Vrissy that instigates them starting a session. Which, given her current obsession with doing something relevant, is not a surprise. I figure that on the side of Deltritus it might be 2 or 4 players from both Dirk's and Rose's species, for a total of 8 or 12 players. I'm assuming it's gonna be one giant shared session, but this is S***b and we know how convoluted it can get.
"GC: i'm going to play TC's game with some of my friends today..."
I know this might seem as if GC and TC will have more friends in the same species, but yeah, not sure. Dirk might have claimed it's a race to see which species will "win", but S***b has shown that dividing into two teams can be a futile effort. It would also be good if GC & TC's friend circle already included both species, as a way to further spit in the face of that idea of rivalry.
"AA (that's oomf)---*"
Not sure what to make of this part though. I mean, AA is another player, but what about the bracketed part? Is the quirk just such that they light a wick to brackets as well? Is "oomf" a name, a nickname, an adverb?
The way GC rambles in their log, at least, reminds of Dave, but I'm interested to see more of them, it's been an intriguing sneak peak!
I suppose the rest of the roster will also use taghandles whose acronyms are not yet covered by the Candy kids, but boy, itâs gonna be a bit messy in the future to ever again refer to someone by their chum handle, any way. I assume the number of total players will be less than 13 though, so that four combinations wonât be reused. But since Harry uses thespiansGlamor [TG] and Tavvy glutinousGymnast [GG] (I had to look it up), we do have overlap. I think odds are high Yiffy uses TT and GT, Johnâs old handle, continues not being in use by any of the main cast.
Oooh, but now I see that on p472, GC had already been teased in Vrissyâs chumroll! ... If recidiviousGainsayer is also one of the Deltritus crew, there might in fact be a lot more of them. The R would then be in reference to RNA, where the GCAT letters were solely for DNA... Now, if I wikipedia it, I see that RNA contains the U base instead of the T, and not an R base, but I can see how the Beyond Canon crew might want to reserve the u/U handle for cherubs (even if no more get introduced than we already have) and substitute it with an R! ... But then why would there also be a TC though. ... Yeah this wonât end with the 64 Squiddle player session, but I feel like I should still at least imply it. <.< >.>
As for the news post, welp, guess we're in a for a wait for the next update! Second big pause in Beyond Canon, I think?
Who's betting they'd like to bring it out on 01/08 (January 8th) for the funny number factor?

Free vent card to talk about everything and anything thatâs bothering you so that Gloorp here -> đ¤ can smash it with a comically large and cartoonish hammer
Okay, so
There's a lot going on now and I don't wanna talk about it or even think about it and I really should do something but I'm avoiding it and that is absolutely not good so I WILL do it when I wake up today and hopefully feel relief after it
Good now that this is somehow said I'll need to get to the more ughh me stuff. I already vented about this situation but its still on my mind and idk if it's really like that and I just ahhh- it triggered my anxiety really bad and just
I was walking with a friend and my sis and we have been hanging out for three days at that point so my social battery was low and I just started to walk behind them and that also had another reason because I thought I might annoy them by being me. And the whole day was filled with sentences like "You're too much to handle sometimes", " You're getting on my nerves" and so on and yeah
And then my sister told me that said friend I'm an Emo because I was walking alone behind them and it was the same friend I told that i don't like it to be called that weeks ago and she just... I feel like I trusted the wrong person with personal stuff
And the next day then was just my friend being annoyed at anything and I don't understand why bc I really tried not to be annoying. And then I decided to climb on some stones and she looked really annoyed all the time and idk if that's my fault or if I'm one of the reasons and I hate that I still don't know. Then me and my sis wanted to get dinner and she said she also wants to come so we took her with us but she wire headphones the whole way and was watching something on her phone and she was the one to get ice cream and then she said she forgot her money and I was like no problem I get you an ice and then she was like really bitchy to me and couldn't understand why bc I just wanted to be nice.
And that just like the most recent event of stuff like that and so it's in my head and I'm always like "I'm too hard to handle. I should stop now. I annoy them"
And I'm still really confused at some other stuff and now I recently figured out that I really would like to try wearing a binder, because while I don't have a problem with my chest at home. I just want my shirts to fit more masc, to give me a more masculine look and yeah. Wouldn't be possible because homophobic and trans phobic family and that sucks.
And I also have the feeling that my social anxiety got even worse and I really just want someone to really understand me, but when I ask them to pay for my stuff too and I even give them the money, I often just get a "You need to learn that" "I also don't like doing that" "god, you get on my nerves" and that makes me believe that I should just be different so I wouldn't be that much to handle
And idk just the fact that I am happy to be ace and everything bc feels good to know what I am, but then I am like "no one will ever love you" or just like the fact that I have a friend who ones had a crush on me (and I need to mention he's trans here) because he had the crush when he wasn't outed and we had no contact for two years and then he was outed and we are friends again and he's the only one to just take me like "okay, it's eros. Eros is cool" and vibes with it, at least I feel like it. and he's also the only one I'm comfortable cuddling with because I mostly have female friends but I am not really comfy in touch with female persons and feel like cuddling is something intimate (just platonic, yk?) And he's a boy and I'm more comfortable around boys in that regard or something and yeah. And I'm scared people might think I have a crush on him, but I haven't and it's just too much
And I'm fucking touch starved and I don't mean the one like "I could use a hugđđ" I mean like feeling restless and uncompleted and just bad in general and all I need is someone I can hold because I don't really like it to be hold and I need love and affection but I don't get it
And I also figured that a platonic crush is the same shit as a romantic one bc in both I just want to be close to someone.
And oh yeah I figured I really want to tell that one person how pretty he is and how much I care and ughhh I don't wanna seem weird bc I mean it platonic and I just don't know what to do
And on top of that I still have the feeling that I maybe have autism or ADHD and I can't tell that anyone because they won't take me serious and just fuck it
Did I mention my anxiety getting worse? Yeah I guess that's the main problem

*gif isnt mine*
âI fucking knew it!â Lip exclaimed.
âWhy are you telling us? Weâve known this.â Ian commented, smirking at his little brother. Â
âHow the hellââ Carl started.Â
âYouâre not exactly great at hiding your crush on her,â Mickey chuckled.Â
Carlâs eyes were the size of saucers. âYou knew?â
âOf course I did. Iâm not fucking Helen Keller,â Mickey rolled his eyes.Â
Carl groaned and ran his hands roughly through his hair. âI canât believe this. Well, secretâs out, I guess. What do I do?â
âJust go tell her you like her. Itâs not like sheâs going to turn you down.â Lip shrugged, putting his cigarette to his lips.Â
âLip!â Ian hit his brotherâs shoulder.Â
âWhat?â Lip asked.Â
âYou werenât supposed to say that, dumbass,â Mickey said.
âWhat does that mean?â Carl asked, looking in-between his brotherâs and Mickey.Â
Lip sighed. âAh, shit, right. Iâve already said too much.â
ââââ
4 hours earlier: 2:00 PM
âHey, shit head!â She called out, throwing rocks against the window.Â
Carl got up from his bed, shocked but happy to see her. He opened his window, leaning against the frame.Â
âWhatâre you doing here?â He asked.
She threw the rocks to the ground. âEscaping from my druggie dad, duh. Whatâre you doing?â
âNothing,â Carl shrugged.Â
She did her signature smirk that always made Carlâs heart flutter. âWanna go and stuff our faces at Patsyâs Pies?â
Carlâs eyes lit up at the mention of fatty, greasy food. âHell yeah. Iâll come down.â
She nodded, going to the front of their house. Carl ran down the stairs, putting on his shoes and opening the door to find her on the steps.Â
âHey, why didnât you just come into the house?â Carl asked, shutting the door behind him.Â
âPutting damage on your window seemed more fun. Oh, hey! Do you have an extra bed I can sleep in tonight?â She asked.Â
Carl nodded. âYeah, of course. Your dad is that bad, huh?â
âYep, he relapsed. Super fun,â she laughed sarcastically.Â
âIâm sorry. That shit sucks,â Carl said.
She shrugged. âYeah, well, itâs life. Anyways, ready to go?â
Carl nodded. They got into her car, the girl starting it and driving fast to the dinner. As she was driving, humming to the songs on the radio, Carl stared at her. She was absolutely gorgeous.Â
Her name was Y/n L/n. Carlâs oldest and only real friend. They had grown up together, Y/n living only a few houses away from him. They had met in detention in 1st grade and had been close ever since.Â
âWhatâre you staring at?â Y/n asked, glancing over to him.Â
Carl blushed. âNothing.â
âAlright,â Y/n sang.
Carl had often been caught staring at her. It was something he usually did from time to time, but now it was more often. He couldnât help it. There was something about her. Maybe flawless her skin was, how pretty and bright her smile and eyes were, the way she would make him feel secure and loved, something he had never got from anyone consitently.Â
He never really knew why he thought those things about her. People had told him that he probably had a crush on her, but he knew that wasnât right. He had crushes on girls before and the things he was feeling for Y/n were a lot different than what he had felt for his past girlfriends. He figured it was just that she was his closest friend and he happened to be a horny teenager, so naturally, he just thought those things about her. But oh, how wrong he actually was.Â
Y/n parked her car at Patsyâs Pies. They walked into the diner, seeing Fiona at the register.Â
âHey, Fi,â Y/n smiled.Â
âHey, Y/n, Carl! Long time, no see. How are ya?â Fiona asked.Â
âGood, good,â Y/n smiled.Â
âGood,â Carl said.Â
âGreat! Well, get yourself seated and someone will be right with you,â she smiled.Â
Y/n and walked off to a small booth and sat down. They picked up the menus that were already on the table.Â
âYou gonna get your usual?â Y/n asked.Â
Carl shrugged. âMaybe. Should I change it up?â
âYes. The double bacon cheeseburger looks good,â Y/n said.Â
âAre you getting that?â Carl asked.Â
âMaybe. Iâll probably get a salad or something. Gotta watch those calories, you know?â She half-joked, putting a hand on her stomach.Â
âI think you look good. You donât need to worry,â Carl smiled.Â
Y/nâs eyes widened. âThank you.â
âYouâre welcome,â Carl nodded.Â
Y/n looked back at the menu, hiding her embarrassment.
Carl complimenting her was something that was rare, but did happen. Y/n never remembered Carl as a romantic type of guy, but it seems that he had developed  those traits from having a few girlfriends. She liked that, actually. She liked him complimenting her, staring at her for minutes at a time, the way his ears would turn red when she teased him. She liked all of that.Â
Y/n would never admit it to anyone, but she had a crush on Carl. She had a crush on him since their freshman year of high school. Well, in reality, she probably has always had one, but the first time she really realised she liked him was in biology when he got in trouble in one of the labs. She remembered when the teacher was yelling at him and he looked at her, smiling at her mischievously and winking at her. That wink had her heart racing and mind go foggy. From then on, she had liked him as more than a friend. Yet, she never said anything because well, as cliche as it was, she was afraid of ruining their friendship. He was really the only one who got her and who never abandoned her. She couldnât lose him, so she just kept her feelings and gestures to him as friendly as she could. Â
âHi, Iâm Carly and Iâll be serving you today. What can I get you today?â The waitress asked.Â
âHi, can I get the philly cheesesteak with a medium coke and fries,â Carl ordered.Â
Carly nodded and wrote his order down, turning to Y/n.Â
âUm, Iâll get the bacon cheeseburger with a small sprite and fries. Thanks,â Y/n ordered.Â
Carly took their menus. âGreat. Iâll have your drinks out soon.â
Y/n and Carl smiled at the waitress as she walked away.Â
âHey, so I thought your dad was in rehab,â Carl said.Â
Y/n sighed. âHe was, but I guess his girlfriend got him drunk, then convinced him to do some lines. God, I canât believe he's even with her still.â
Carl frowned. âWhat about your mom? Whereâs she?â
âSheâs going to nursing school right now. Sheâs the only one responsible in this family, yet she never calls or anything,â she scoffed.
âYouâre really responsible,â Carl said.Â
Y/n smiled. âThanks, C. You are, too.â
Carl laughed, âMe? I sold drugs on the streets once.â
She giggled. âTrue. But youâve really shaped. I'm proud.â
Carl smiled sheepishly. âThanks.â
Y/n hummed a âyouâre welcomeâ. Carly came back with their food quickly and they dug in. Carl and Y/n spent their time talking and eating, spending about 2 hours there as they just kept talking.Â
âAre you two finished?â Carly asked, gesturing to their empty plates.Â
âYeah,â Carl nodded.Â
âGreat. Hereâs your bill, pay whenever youâre ready,â Carly smiled and took their dirty dishes.Â
âReady to go?â Y/n asked.Â
Carl nodded and got out his wallet that he had in his shorts. Meanwhile, Y/n also got out her wallet. They both looked up at each other, awkward expressions on their faces.Â
âOh, I was gonna pay,â Carl said. âNo, no, my treat. I invited you here,â Y/n said.Â
âYou sure?â Carl asked.Â
She smiled and put a hand on his arm. âYes, I am, Carl.â
Butterflies irrupted in Carlâs stomach as she touched him. He nodded slowly, putting his credit card away. Y/n and him walked up to the register and paid for their meal. They then went back to Y/n car.Â
âWhat do you wanna do now?â Y/n asked.Â
âWanna play COD Black Ops 3?â Carl asked.Â
âYes!â Y/n smiled. She drove them back to his house, parking haphazardly on the street.Â
The two hurried into the house, grabbing a seat on the couch. Carl got the controllers, turning onto the playstation. Y/n logged onto her account, selecting the gun she wanted to use. Carl then started the game.Â
âWhere are you?â Y/n squinted her eyes at the screen.Â
âRight behind you,â Carl smirked.Â
Y/n turned around, gasping as Carl shot her.Â
âFuck you!â Y/n exclaimed.Â
âLittle rusty, huh?â Carl teased. She rolled her eyes. âIâm gonna kill you next round.â
âIâd like to see you try,â Carl said.Â
âWinner gets to pick whatâs for dinner,â Y/n said.Â
âDeal,â Carl nodded.Â
The pair played for a couple hours, the game ending with Y/n getting the last kill.Â
âGood game,â she smirked, setting the controller down.Â
âI forgot how good you were at this,â Carl frowned. Y/n giggled, âI forgot how bad you were.â
Carl rolled his eyes with a smile. âAlright, where do you want to eat?â
âHm⌠Noodles n Company?â She suggested.Â
âSure,â Carl nodded.Â
âAlright, Iâm gonna use the bathroom and then order. Text me what you want,â Y/n said, getting up from the couch.Â
Carl nodded and watched her go upstairs to use the bathroom. Then thatâs when Lip, Ian, and Mickey all came into the house.Â
âHey, guys,â Carl said.Â
âHey,â Ian smiled.Â
âIs Y/n here? We saw her car out front,â Lip said. âYeah, she is,â Carl nodded.Â
âAsked her out yet?â Lip smirked. Carlâs face turned red. âWh-What?â
âOh, youâre not in love with her then?â Ian furrowed his brows.Â
âI⌠am I?â Carl asked.Â
Ian chuckled. âYeah. You always are always happy around her, blush whenever she teases you.â
âAnd youâre always staring at her,â Lip added.
âThat doesnât mean I like her,â Carl said.
âDo feel dizzy and nauseous when she touches you? Does your heart race when she gets close? Do you see yourself kissing her? Would you do anything for her?â Ian asked.Â
Carl furrowed his brows. They were right, all those things did happen when she was near. She was his best friend. He also sometimes think about kissing her and being with her in a romantic way. And yeah, of course he would do anything for her. Maybe⌠Maybe he did love her.Â
âOh, shit,â he muttered. âI⌠I guess I am in love with her.â
And that, ladies and gents, is where we left off. Lip, Ian, and Mickey teased Carl until Carl begged them for real help.Â
âWhat do you mean?â Carl asked anxiously.Â
Lip looked to Ian and Mickey for help on what to say. Little did Carl know, Y/n actually did admit her crush to someone. And that someone, or someones, were Lip, Ian, and Mickey.Â
âDonât worry about it, man,â Mickey said.Â
âDid she say something to you?â Carl asked. âNo,â Ian shook his head. âLike Mick said, donât worry.â
âI⌠fine. Well, what do I do then?â Carl asked in slight distress.
âGive her some flowers and chocolate. Girls love that shit,â Lip suggested.Â
âAlright,â Carl nodded. âI donât know what her favourite flowers are, though.â
âJust get her roses. Thatâs really romantic,â Lip said.Â
Carl smiled, âAlright. Awesome. Thanks, guys.â
He decided to get the flowers early morning tomorrow before Y/n woke up.Â
ââââ
Carl sneaked back into the house, hoping not to wake Y/n up. As he walked into the kitchen, he was shocked to see her at the table drinking coffee.Â
âHey, Carl!â Y/n smiled.Â
Carlâs eyes were blown wide. âI.. uhâŚâ
âWho are those for?â Y/n got up and pointed to the flowers and chocolate in his hand.Â
âUm⌠you?â Carl said. Y/n smiled. âMe? What did I do to deserve this?â
Carl knew that he couldnât make up an excuse. He was horrible at lying to her. So, he decided to just have his confession here.Â
âI.. Iâm in love with you,â Carl said. Y/nâs jaw dropped and she froze. âWha-What?â
âMy brothers and Mickey helped me realise I was yesterday when you were ordering dinner. They told me I should get you flowers and stuff so I did. I hope you like roses,â Carl explained and held up the gifts.Â
Y/nâs lips upturned in a wide smile. âHow long have you liked me?â
âHonestly, probably since we were little,â Carl shrugged sheepishly.Â
Y/n giggled. âMe, too.â
âReally?â Carl smiled.Â
Y/n waked up to him and took the gifts, setting them on the kitchen counter. She went up to him and put her arms around his neck.Â
âYep. I always have,â she grinned.Â
âOh, sick!â Carl exclaimed. âOh wait.â
âWhat?â Y/n asked in confusion.Â
âThatâs what they meant!â Carl exclaimed in realisation.
âWho? What?â âOh, Lip, Mickey, and Ian kind of told me yesterday when I asked for help,â Carl explained.Â
Y/nâs eyes widened and she turned to the stairs, glaring. âMickey, Lip, Ian! You better fucking run!â Â

Hey! I saw that your ask box was open, so I was wondering if I could request how the brothers (if not all then just Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Leviathan) would react to the mc defending them! Like they get into a fight and their only response was "they were talking bad about you" or something! -đĽ (Also side note, do you right for GN! MC's, or just male?)
BROTHERS REACTING TO MC DEFENDING THEM
Hey anon! Thanks so much for requesting! As for your question, This is TECHNICALLY a male reader blog, however, if it isnât necessary, I will use he/him pronouns loosely. In other words, if the prompt doesnât specify/depend on it being a male mc, it will be gn!mc! Hope this clears up some confusion! Iâll start putting whether a post is for a gn or male mc at the very beginning of said post from now on.
âď¸GENDER NEUTRAL MCâď¸
fluff, some angst :).
Lucifer was more angry than anything to hear that MC had gotten in a fight. The one thing he made sure they did was to stay out of trouble. And yet, they seem to be a magnet for chaos.
He stumbled upon the fight before it got bad, and had the demon dealt with as he accompanied MC to an empty room at RAD.
Although he seemed to be sweating out of exasperation, it was easy to tell that he was simply worried about them.
Well. Kind of.
If you look past the hour-long lecture it is.
MC tries countless times to explain themself, and yet he never fails to reroute the conversation back to his lesson on running from a demon before things get bad.
It gets to a point when MC has to put a hand over his mouth to quiet him.
Only then do they explain what happened, and what caused the fight to begin with.
First, he is absolutely shocked. And he canât really find the right thing to say.
Then, his eyes relax, and his frown seems to melt away. He truly wants to be mad still, to teach a proper lesson. But he just canât do it.
âIt is true that humans tend not to think things through, I suppose.â
He crosses his arms and continues, âWell, I appreciate it, but I donât need the protection.â
After ruffling their hair, he smirks a little.
âIâll have to keep a closer eye on you if you rush into situations like that. Maybe put you on a leash.â
After things are cleared up, he finds the situation a little comical. A human defending a demon.
Luckily, the wounds arenât bad, or else Lucifer wouldnât have hesitated giving some sort of consequence to the MC.
Mammon is, unfortunately, not around to witness or intervene into the fight.
So when the next time he sees MC thereâs a dark magenta ring around their eye, he loses it.
He wastes no time taking them home from RAD. We know he never really cared for classes anyways.
Unlike Lucifer, he wants to hear them out on the way home.
Although he physically feels himself getting butterflies in his stomach from the idea of being cared for, he clears his throat and tries to push it aside.
He knows that theyâre not going to be taken away from him anytime soon. At least, not with his unintentionally vice grip on their wrist they arenât.
And yet he canât help but constantly flick his gaze back to them and their wounds.
We were all waiting for this one: he feels horrible that they got hurt because of him, albeit indirectly.
He puts emphasis on steering clear of hotheaded demonsâ or, all demons that arenât the brothers for that matter.
âI hear ya, The Great Mammon is a gem that all of devildom should be trynaâ protect! But... Youâre better off ignoring that... I mean, look at ya! All beat up and stuff... N-Not that you look bad or anything. Well... Um.â
When MC laughs at him, heâs both relieved that theyâre not upset enough to sulk, and embarrassed because of his wording.
So they have to reassure him that they simply find him worth protectingâ for exactly this. He cares for them, and is probably willing to protect them too.
As heâs sloppily tending to their bruises, he offers to spend the day with them.
He says its his payment, and that he would defend them when Lucifer found out about today.
But itâs more so the fact that he wishes more than anything to spend every day for the rest of his demonic life with them.
Levi is another brother who is unfortunately not around at the time due to his home schooling.
Thatâs why heâs one of the last people to find out about it, and he feels guilt hit him like an 18-wheeler.
The injuries are a little more severe, but nothing that would keep someone from going about their daily life. Nonetheless, Levi is demanding to be the one to patch them up.
As soon as MC cuts him off before he can start rambling, they make sure to explain the situation, i.e. âI had to defend you! Or else they would have kept talking bad about you.â
He turns red and covers his mouth, undoubtedly mumbling something about how impossibly romantic the situation was.
But after that, he shakily asks that MC tries not to talk as he takes time to let everything sink in. He still canât believe it.
So he finds himself shakily asking questions like, âSo... You just heard him and decided to-... To defend me? No one asked you to?â
For every reassuring nod that he gets, he feels his head spin a little faster.
It takes him a while, but all the wounds are properly sterilized and taken care off beneath his cold fingers.
He leans back in his seat, and blows out a slow puff of air. âMC... Youâre badass. Seriously. I donât really know what I, a demon, have done to deserve you... But... Thank you.â
The conversation ends with tears, but they couldnt have been anything but happy.
He just canât believe someone could go as far as to fight for his sake over a simple ill-intended comment.
Satan witnesses the event. Which... May or may not be a good thing.
MC doesnât notice him at first. Theyâre too busy with the demon that has her hands on their uniform collar.
But then they see the green flames licking at their peripherals, emitting from somewhere behind them.
The demon girl in front of them seems to lose all color in her face at the sight of those same flames. She instantly drops MC to their knees, and attempts to run.
As Satan steps forward to grab the female student, he spins MC around with ease so that they wonât have to witness whatever heâs about to do.
MC doesnât know how much time has passed due to the shock of the moment. It could be seconds or minutes. But when Satan pulls them back up to their feet, he is stone faced.
MC walks stiffly to the House of Lamentation with Satan, careful not to set anything else off in him.
The entire walk to his room is silent. The first time he speaks is when he offers a seat on his bed, nudging books aside with his foot.
He takes a deep breath before he begins diligently tending to the injuries.
âMind explaining what happened?â He doesnât sound angry at them, but itâs hard to tell with him.
Satan notices the hesitation in answering, so he gives a small smile. âAre you scared? You shouldnât be. Iâm just a bit... Tense, is all.â
After a moment, MC tells him the reasoning for the fight.
Satan sighs once more and places a hand on theirs. Oh to be so selfless yet still be a fragile human.
âMC... Demons talk. And itâs not always nice. Itâs best to just let it go, okay? Well... Give me their name first, but I canât have you losing a limb for me. Who knows what iâd do then.â
MC canât completely promise that theyâll simply forget about anyone that talks badly about him, but Satan only gives a helpless sigh.
âWhat ever will we do with you.â He is much more relaxed than before, and his tone is affectionate.
MC doesnât know what happened to that girl, and you figure itâs best to never ask.
Asmodeus is preoccupied with a hand mirror, but a circle of gathering demons certainly catches his attention.
He hums, interested. Heâs always been one for drama.
But as he peeks over the crowd, his heart sinks impossibly deep in his body.
MC isnât bloody, but by the looks of it, they may be very soon.
While heâs ridden with shock, a punch lands on their face, and the crowd roars. The yells overtake his own, and he canât get through the group of people pushing and shoving.
Diavolo and Barbatos were alerted of the congregation of students, and are only just now arriving. And at the sight of them, students scatter like bugs. Leaving MC on the ground and clutching their face in pain.
Diavolo and Barbatos leave MC in the care of Asmodeus while they turn to resolve the problem with the attacker.
Asmodeus is frantic, fanning his face as he helps MC to sit up. He doesnât know what to do first, does he ask to see the wound? But whatâs the point when he doesnât really know how to treat it in any circumstance? No one has ever socked him in the face before.
So he opts to carry them off to the infirmary, bridal style. All along the way, he gives reassuring words that seem to slightly calm the injuried MC.
âHey, beautiful! Ughh, the nerve of some demons! I canât even begin toâ Oh right... The ice pack, Iâll get that now, so sit tight, love!â
While he allows them to press the ice to their eye themself, he is massaging his frowning face. All while he seems to be worried about all the wrong things.
âIs this type of injury permanent on humans?? Your face is too good for that!â âThat low-level demon... I wish I could ruin his face a hundred times worse than what heâs doing to innocent bystanders!â
MC patiently allows him to vent, because hearing him fret of the most âAsmoâ things somehow brought light to the situation and distracted from the throbbing in their face.
An hour must have passed before Asmo actually takes in the situation. âOh, but I havenât even asked... What in devildom were you doing with such a grotesque demon? Do I have to replace Mammon in guarding you?â
Finally, MC explains.
Heâs less than shocked. Instead, he holds his own arms with an almost sympathetic smile, âOh, darling... Itâs better to talk to Lucifer about things like that... If at all. As the Avatar of Lust, Itâs kind of part of the program to get nasty birds twittering about you... Fan behavior.â
MC seems less than convinced, replying with a small, âBut...â
Asmo grins and puts a gentle hand on their shoulder. âItâs adorable that youâd do that for me, MC, really. I wish I could just dress you up and show you to the world, show them how special you make me feel! But please. Donât sacrifice your complexion for a-ny-thing!â
Even Asmo can feel himself get butterflies when MC does the smallest of things for him. But taking care of that face is no joke to him.
Beel is at the gym when it happens, and is the last one to hear about it. The brothers are all discreetly trying to decide whether or not to tell him. We all know how scary he can get.
MC listens to Mammon... For some reason. And that entails avoiding Beel until the scrapes and bruises on your body heal.
Bad idea. Beel now looks like a hurt puppy, and is desperately trying to figure out what he has done.
The fateful moment of realization for him comes on a Tuesday night, less than a week after the incident. MC walks into the kitchen, searching for a late night beverage to drink and also hold against their wounds.
Beel is already there, instantly looking ashamed when he sees them.
âBeel...â MC starts, forgetting that they were supposed to be avoiding him. They stop themselves before hastily pulling their sleeves down to cover the lingering bruises.
This catches Beelâs attention to detail when it comes to others.
His eyebrows furrow a bit, and MC gulps. There was no getting out of this.
Before completely explaining everything, MC has to calm him. Because if not, heâd be checking every inch of their body for serious injuries. And even if there were none, heâd never let them leave bed for the next week. At least.
They take a deep breath and start with the people poking fun at his soft personality in such an intimidating body. And then finishing with the plan of steering clear of him to keep him from getting worried. (you leave out mammonâs part last second)
At first, his eyes are serious as he listens intently, silently going over things more than once in his head to ensure that he was understanding the story properly.
Once MC has finished, his eyes change completely. Theyâre soft, and concerned, but not overbearing.
MC felt a bit guilty seeing him like this.
Beel reaches out to hug them, but is hesitant, worried that theyâd still be hurt. So MC has to let him know that their wounds have healed for the most part.
âMC.... Firstly, thank you.â He pulls them into a soft hug.  âIt makes me all happy on the inside when you do things like that.â His voice is quiet, but much too unstable. MC knew that this was a telltale sign that he was near tears.
MC doesnât hesitate to reach up and stroke the back of his hair, feeling him bury his head into their shoulder.
âBeel? Are you okay?â
âI should be the one asking you that.â
âyou should know betterâ is what he wants to say. But maybe they donât, he thinks. Afterall, when was the last time a human with such limited magical capability was surrounded by demons 24/7?
âI just need you to promise me.â He carefully pulls back and sucks in a breath, keeping himself from imagining MC scared and hurt without himâ because of him.
âPromise me that youâll tell me about things like that first. Before you get yourself hurt, or... Or worse.â Thereâs another word that he has to stop himself from saying. He doesnât know how he could handle that thought.
There, he thinks. If they didnât know before how serious it was, now they did. Hopefully.
The brothers notice that Beel is a bit more normal than the days before, so they assume that things have been cleared up for the two.
Although they have to pretend as if they had never heard about the incident when he mentions it.
Belphie was definitely not there when it happened.
But unlike with every other brother, MC was unable to be saved immediately after having found themselves in a brawl with a low class demon.
MC silently curses as they find themselves limping through the halls of the House of Lamentation.
Theyâre lucky to have only gotten out of that with an injured ankle, they remind themself. It didnât seem... Broken. But it definitely needed more medical attention than it received nowâ A knee-high sock they pulled off of their foot wrapped tightly around a ruler they used as a makeshift splint.
They were sure that the majority of the brothers were at school, so theyâd have at least a few hours to figure out what to do.
How would the brothers react if they saw them like this? Would they feel that this was a mere inconvenience? Afterall, this may just be a bad sprain, and now look at them. They can barely limp. Much less walk. But maybe after a bit of rest, it would magically heal.
They decide to head to the music room (?), where they knew that none of the brothers would immediately run into after school.
After finding a stool to sit on, MC hisses when they bump their ankle on the floor. The throbbing seemed to shake their whole body.
âHoly shiââ
âMC?â
A sleepy drawl from the couch behind them causes them to freeze. They wanted to slap themself. Of course Belphie would be sleeping here, why didnât they think of that?
âWhatâre you doing hâ....â He stops.
MC can already tell that he had noticed the poor job they had done with their ankle. âI fell down the stairs. But itâs okay, I justââ
âMC. Iâm not stupid. Why are you home so early, alone? If you skipped or left early, Mammon would have sniffed you out like a dog and be here, too. Spill it.â
If Belphie was good at anything (besides sleeping), it was reading emotions. There was no lying anymore. And so MC simply explained the fight and its causes.
When they turn to look at him, he simply blinks. He doesnât seem very concerned, but he sleepily walks over to inspect their leg.
Heâs careful to support their foot as he lifts their entire leg, checking the swelling.
â... Geez. Youâre stupid.â His eyebrows knit together with an unknown emotion. Worry? Irritation? A mix of both? âI donât care about what such irrelevant demons think, and you shouldnât either.â
MC is a little speechless, but only laughs. âYeah. It was a little dumb looking back at it. But you should have heard them, Belphie... There was no way Iâd go without a fight, okay?â
Belphie smiles back. âIf you wanted to prove yourself to me... There were other ways, you know?â
âShould we get Beel to help us set up the pillow fort?â
âWell, how else are you gonna heal? You canât get better if you donât rest with me.â

âCABBAGEâ
A/N: First, I wanna apologize to the Diakko day mods that reviewed a completely different fic for me that was supposed to be my entry, but then... boom new diakko day entry. Iâm sorry ;-;, I just couldnât figure out a flow that would still have what I had in mind. Uwu, sorry for using up your precious time.
Soulmate, non-magic? AU. Cliche stuff, common trope. STILL. Iâm using it. Fun fact, I slaved away for this for two/three days hoho~ peak procrastination, donât encourage it. Also on ao3, but I have a habit of posting full chaps on tumblr. Teehee. This is... long... (could have been a crazy multi-chap, ey?) but I guess thatâs what you get for trying to fit a full story with an AU setting that needs to be established. Sorry if it feels slow with regards to reaching DiAkko, but donât worry, from when they come along til the end, youâll have loads of them. Sorry for the pacing tho :((( I also apologize in advance if there are some OOC bits that yâall might not like. Not too confident in it, but hope you all like it. I DID NOT BETA READ THIS ANYMORE BECAUSE IâM TIRED OF THE LENGTH OF IT LMAO. Anywho...
Happy DiAkko day! Enjoy?
~Shintori Khazumi
It was a normal thing, really. She had grown up with a thin chain slung around her neck, attached to another tiny metal thingy resting against the skin of her collarbone. On cold days, she would keep it in her pocket because god knows how weirdly tingly and-or painful that felt on bare skin. Sure she could have chosen to just wear it so that others could see it- actually, wasnât she going against societyâs rules when she hid it? She was, wasnât she. Heck, it surprised her now that sheâs realized it. Why hasnât she been arrested yet? This is a crime isnât it? Her mom, her dad, would they get to say their farewells once she got incarcerated-
âI can see it on your face, that youâre thinking about something totally stupid again.â
âShut up, Sucy.â
âJust saying.â Sucy shrugs, going back to working on their chemistry lab activity. âI mean, I kinda just want you to focus on what weâre doing. Unless you want me to slip in some stuff in your project there.â She grinned in that evil little way the brunette had come to know her for.
âIf I know you, which I do, youâve probably already done that.â
âAkko! I canât believe youâd accuse me of something like hurting my friends.â Sucy really couldnât sell the âfeigning shockâ act as her monotone words did little to convey emotion, and that forced gasp was probably just everyone elseâs normal manner of breathing. Which was scary, now that she thought about it. Did that mean Sucyâs normal breathing was even less obvious? Oh god, now that Akko thinks about it, she would sometimes joke in her head about how she often wondered whether or not Sucy was actually dead during sleepovers.
âI mean, come on! She sleeps like a corpse in a coffin! And she always looks so pale-â
âI knew you were thinking about something stupid again.â Once more, her thoughts were brought to a halt by that lazed, snarky voice that could only belong to her best friend who shared her mutual desire to strangle one another.
âI was just wondering if you were undead or something.â
âScrew you.â
âWish Iâd find someone to do that...â Akko muttered under her breath, to which Sucy sighed. She had heard it, and immediately knew what the Japanese was about to get hung up on. Again. Like she always did.
A hand reaching over to pat her back in consolation, but Akko felt a little worse, feeling that small, hard material lightly tapping the area along with the rest of Sucyâs hand. Sucy chuckled, sympathetically. âI know youâre constantly in a state of heat, Akko-â Or not.
âI am not, you bitch!â
Sucy could stand to ignore that. â-But really. Are you really that obsessed with finding your soulmate? Weâre all young and all that jazz that those old hags keep yapping about. You have a lot of time, you know?â She smiled a sincere smile this time, trying her best to comfort her friend. âAnd besides, even though itâs something written on official print that most people find their soulmates at sixteen, most isnât all.â
Akko felt a little better. Sucy could be an asshole, but as a best friend, she really knew what to say to Akko sometimes. Â
â-Thatâs basic English that even you can understand.â
She takes it back. She takes some of her heartfelt gratitude back. âI hate you.â
âAww, I abhor you with all of my non-existent heart as well.â Sucy smirked, swatting Akkoâs attacking hand away. âMuah~â She threw in a wink for good measure.
âUghh, oh gosh... Professor Croix!â Akko bemoaned to their supervising teacher. âCan I please use the emergency shower? And eyewash. I think Miss Manbavaran got her unholy sappiness spilled all over me.â
Croix sighed, rubbing the spot between her eyes with her thumb and index finger. Not this again. âCanât you two ever pipe down in my class?â She sighed. âPLEASE?!â
âNope.â -Was the deadpanned response.
âI now see why you guys are friends.â Croix groaned, walking over to their table. âYou little shits just wonât give me a break. And yet, youâre so behaved with Chariot.â
âHey! Sensei, cursing your students is bad!â Akko scolded, before adding, âBesides, this and that are separate matters. Prof Chariot is just sweet and so nice, you canât bear the weight of guilt of hurting her. Right?â Akko turned to Sucy who just nodded.
âShut it, Kagari. That is not a valid rea- wait... maybe it is.â
âSee?â
Her head was starting to hurt. Just why had she decided to be a teacher in place of any other job involving chemistry? Really, there were so many other things she could have done!
Just as she was about to return the verbal jabs, a gentler voice inserted itself into their conversation. âUmm... guys, professor, the other students are being distracted by your... um... exchange.â
Three pairs of eyes blinked, before two widened in apologetic shock, while the other seemed to gleam in pleasure. âSorry, Lotte.â
âSucy, please try to look even the slightest bit sorry.â
And disappointment replaced them right away.
âTsk.â
âSucy... we will be having a talk back in our room.â Akko heard that audible gulp, reaching for her friendâs hand under the table, squeezing support.
âDonât die.â She whispered.
âYou too, Akko.â
âNoooo! How? I donât even live with you two!â
Lotte was about to respond that Akko always stayed over, anyway, but the frantic screams of their teacher took the words far away from her mind.
âAkko! Akko! Your solution is bubbling! Wait, thatâs not supposed to do that-â Croixâs concern was justified as in a matter of a split second, everyone in their immediate circle was covered in some bright pink substance. âSHOWER, EMERGENCY SHOWER-â
âW-we wonât all fit, Professor!â Lotte had begun tearing up, wondering if she was about to die from whatever toxic chemical their beloved dunce must have mixed in. Maybe if she prayed to something somewhere out there, the spirits of nature would take hers and maybe she could live as some kind of forest sprite in some alternate magical world, and crap, she was becoming delusional.
âHoho~ What a nice outcome~.â
âManbavaran!â
âRelaaaax, I switched out all of Akkoâs components for some of my stuff. It was a precaution.â She smiled, unbelievably innocent-looking. â...and maybe added a little surprise.â
âSu.CY!â Akko lunged forward before being stopped mid-air, caught by the collar.
âAkko. Sucy. Iâll see you in the office later.â
â...your office?â They seemed amazingly unfazed. Theyâd probably been so used to being there that they must see it as a lounge of sorts. But no, Croix wasnât going to be defeated by teenage rascals that were the cause of her hair prematurely turning white. No.
âNope.â
âTh-then, Finneranâs?â They werenât completely scared of the aforementioned teacher. She just gave them such an earful, sometimes theyâd joke to Lotte about needing hearing aids at some point.
âNo.â Croixâs smile grew despicably wide and dark. âHolbrookeâs.â
Lotte sighed in sympathy. Well, sheâd expected this development sooner or later. âIâll wait for you by the usual bench.â

A week of suspension. One week off school, no school or class-related updates allowed from classmates, and only check-ins and work drops from teachers. That was... surprisingly light after all the trouble theyâd accumulated over the past first month of the semester. Or maybe it was because it was just the start of the school year that the headmistress really wanted as little to go wrong as possible. Preferably nothing would go wrong. Or it could also be the fact that they were in their senior year, and the teachers really wanted all their students to graduate.
But you could never tell with a group as rowdy as the âwitchesâ of Luna Nova International Institute. They were rightly labeled as such with the cursed terrors they had inflicted, every incident theyâ d caused all over the school premises and beyond.
If it wasnât Akko and Sucy, it was Jasminka somehow being able to sneak in and out of the classroom and buy out the entire snack section of the cafeteria, and making it back to class without anyone noticing. With her size, it was some kind of scary magic trick. If it wasnât that either, then it was Constanze constantly installing who-knowâs-what in the schoolsâ computers. It it wasnât her, then it was Amanda and Hannah pulling at hairs, or cutting at each otherâs necks, then the next thing you know theyâre either making out in public, or making out in public... with Barbara. There was also Lotte when she was in her wild states of fangirling after a new Night Fall release. People tended to keep a safe distance from her during those times. (Sheâd once shaken a girl unconscious out of her sheer excitement at the mention of, âOh, I read the latest release tooâ.)
Never a dull day with them.
Scarily so.
Holbrooke had smiled at them kindly as always, but there was just a little something else behind it that felt like Akko and Sucy were about to die on the spot.
âPlease. I beg of you. Your first two years, we tried to overlook all your mischief as it did not pose any threat to the masses, only towards you and your friend group... well... physical harm or threat, at least. I donât know how many people are psychologically scarred because of you.â She had said that, but they didnât know if it was a joke, a serious statement, or both.
After being given twenty blank pages to write their usual apologies on- they shared a laugh, thinking back on when Amanda got fifty-, the pair made their merry way to the bench just by the school gate where Lotte sat, chatting alongside and excited Barbara, a Hannah with a fond smile directed at her life-time partner, and Amanda who was carrying both their bags for them, waving goodbye to Constanze and Jasminka who looked like they were just leaving.
âAww, didnât get to catch my little friend.â Akko pouted, wanting to hug Conz as she always did. She was so cute. And soft. Like a plush. Always calming Akko down.
âSheâs gonna shoot one of her tiny lazers at you again. Those actually burn.â Amanda reminded, laughing as she remembered what Lotte told her about why they were late. âAnd I heard you two got some quality time with the big woman upstairs?â Her grin widened. âHow many?â
âTwenty.â They responded in synch, hands aching from the memory.
âHeh... not bad. Doesnât beat my record though.â She cackled, slinging an arm over Hannahâs shoulder, Akko not missing the glint on her left ring finger. How nice.
âDonât egg them on, idiot.â Hannah sighed, peeling the limb off her. âAnd you all got nothing on these two.â She pointed a thumb to the still excitedly conversing pair. âThey wrote a fucking novel for their apology. Literally. But the teachers were so tired of reading that they werenât made to write apology notes anymore.â
âHey! Cleaning the bathrooms arenât the best either!â Barbara, now done with her talk with Lotte, turned to pinch the gingerâs arm.
âI mean, we all have cleaned them at some point.â
âTrue, true.â The group nodded in consensus.
â...â
âThis is not a very good fact.â Barbara pointed out, and they all laughed, the ones seated slowly getting up, everyone ready to go home.
As they exited the gate, they all waved their goodbyes, Akko and her two best friends heading one way, and Amanda and her girls the other. Just as the sun was setting at that hour in the afternoon, red eyes caught the reflected glimmer of light against the three bands on each girlâs ring finger. Those same eyes traveled to similar hoops donned by the pair walking quietly in front of her, hands brushing by one another.
Really. She was happy all her friends had found their destined ones. Some partners may look to be as mismatched as Sucy and Lotte, and some cases were as rare as the three-way between the snarky British girls and their American idiot, but... the system had worked some magic in perfectly matching people, it seemed. They all seemed happy with who they had.
Akko didnât know if this was some kind of spiritual occurrence like fate or the likes, or if this was just one ginormous scientific experiment on billions of guinea pigs across the globe, but... Akko wanted in on it too.
Placing a hand over where her heart was, she felt for the metal against her chest, clutching it through her uniform blouse.
Just when would her âsoulmateâ come?
//-//-//-//-//
Their first stop, as per usual, was the small apartment complex that Lotte and Sucy lived in. When their parents had discovered that these children had found the one meant for them, they were more than willing to help the girls move in together, and get used to a life-long companionship. They trusted them as they were both capable and level-headed, and Akko was so happy that her friends were happy. She always was.
Lotte invited her in. As always. And Akko shouldâve accepted like she always did as well, but somehow, today... she just didnât feel like it. So she made a random excuse, something believable enough, like how her parents had asked her to make dinner because theyâd be home late, and the Fin just had to let her go, even if she felt something was off, and that the brunette might just be lying.
There had been a time when Lotte and Sucy had just gotten together that Akko seemed to distance herself from her best friends. They soon found out it was out of her concern that she might be intruding on their relationship, or bothering them, taking away from the time the pair could spend alone together as a couple. Obviously, they had never seen Akko as a nuisance, and were saddened she would think of such things.
With a talk, reassurances, and clarifications in place, their bond as friends became ever stronger, and more trusting.
But Akko still wanted to be considerate. Out of love.
...and maybe a little envy that made her want to distance herself from the sight of people with fulfilled partnerships.
Maybe she was just a sore, lonely loser who couldnât truly be happy for her friends.
Who knows.
After jogging the rest of the way home, a simple five-minute distance away from the apartments, she reached that familiar wooden gate, the name plate âKagariâ shiny and clean, like her mother liked it. Pushing the swinging portion open, she walked up the driveway, smiling at her share little garden with her Mama. Looks like the vegetables were growing up healthy. Maybe she could try some new dishes out and have her friends give her feedback. The usual agenda.
âIâm home!â She called out in the foyer, shoes slipping off and set neatly to the side. A habit strongly instilled in her since childhood. âMama?â The scents of vegetables and meat, and was that... cookies! Her mom was baking cookies! âMama!â
Padding down the hall and entering the open living room, she found her father splayed out, snoring on the couch with a newspaper covering his face. Giggling to herself, she continued her way into the kitchen, spotting the one sheâd been looking for, ear buds in and swaying to some music only she could hear. Akko smiled. Her mom was so youthful, she was such a girl. With her bright pink apron and bunny slippers, and impeccable manners and home skills.
âMa~ma!â She called, hugging her motherâs waist from behind.
The older woman yelped, spatula flying into the air, but with Akko smoothly catching it and licking off some of the sauce on it. She tried not to look into those disproving eyes, and simply released her mother and went to wash the utensil.
âAkko...â
âI said I was home! You didnât hear me, mama. This is revenge.â She grinned cheekily, her mother sighing before a fond smile played on her lips.
âFine, fine. But just this once, okay?â
âHai~â Akko gave a mock salute, enjoying this moment with her mother as the her co-brunette rolled her eyes fondly. Akko walked up to her, kissed her cheek, and attempted to âappeaseâ her mother by offering her exemplary culinary services- or so her dad had once claimed. âLet me help you out?â
Unable to keep up the annoyed act longer, her mother slipped into giggles, turning to gather her daughter into her arms and pepper kisses all over her hair. âThank you, baby. Please chop me up some of the veggies in the bag by the sink.â
âRoger!â
And they shared another laugh at the voice coming from the other room, screaming a sleepy, âWHOâS ROGER?! ANOTHER BOY-â
The usual always felt so good.
//-//-//-//-//
Dinner had been fairly uneventful. Her cousin- the relation fairly distant- who currently lived with them wasnât home still, just like always. She knew he was always busy at school, and with the little business her father had him manage, so that was a normal thing as well. She had ended up just confessing to her parents what sheâd done in school this time, in hopes that her being honest instead of them finding out via a phone call from school first would ease the inevitable punishment awaiting her.
It... kind of helped. Kind of.
Her father had laughed so hard, clearly amused at her and Sucyâs antics. Her mother sighed deeply, not knowing if she should even still be disappointed anymore. Akko and school accidents and incidents werenât uncommon at all, after all. It wasnât a surprise. Really, the biggest school-related surprise theyâd gotten was the fact that Akko wanted to take a science-related course instead of an arts one. They knew it had always been her dream to be a performer. So why was she taking that when Luna Nova offered the Arts as well. It was something they would forever wonder about.
Akko was usually so open and honest with them in just about everything, but this was one thing she would never clear up with them. And they could never understand why. There was definitely a deep reason behind it. But why did she have the need to keep it to herself? They worried, but they also believed in her, that she would tell them if she needed to. She was that kind of child.
They hoped.
Kissing her parents good night, She walked away from the kitchen banter of who should wash the dishes between the two adults, and trudged up the wooden stairs to her room. Akko had offered, but they said she should just rest up. She looked like she had a long day. Besides, she had a week to help out at home. Akko shivered at the thought of being worked like a mule. That was a joke of course, but her mama could be so Spartan sometimes.
Her door clicked close, and she immediately found herself face-first in the soft covers of the lower bunk of her bed, lights of the room still down. Originally, the Kagariâs had been expecting twins because of how large Akkoâs motherâs stomach had been. Apparently, they were simply blessed with a very healthy baby. (She was a fair bit taller than her mother, and had a good height for a Japanese woman). As Akko grew up, however, she insisted to keep the bunk as it seemed like it could be useful to turn into her own little fort. Plus, sleepovers wouldnât be much of a problem in terms of space.
Flipping onto her back, she stared at the glow-in-the-dark stars pasted onto the top of her ceiling. It was fairly high up, with this side of the house being designed a little differently, the roof of Akkoâs room forming a dome. This was at her request as a child after attending one of Professor Chariotâs public lectures on stars as a child. Akko had since then been hooked to them, the fading glow of the stickers allowing her sights of the constellations sheâd painstakingly formed, sticking each point one by one with the help of her dad and a ladder.
She had been saving up lately to buy one of those small, portable planetarium projectors. She didnât want to outright ask her parents for one, and she had taken a few secret part-time jobs to make up for the amount she needed. Little by little, she was getting close to her goal. Sheâd have one someday. One day.
Her eyes felt heavy all of a sudden, an arm moving to rest over them as her breathing slowed, thoughts drifting to stars and constellations, and myths, and tales, and fate, and...
Her world shut down.
//-//-//-//-//
âAtsuko. Atsuko, get up. Akko. Wake up, bloody hell, you sleep like a log!â
âMmrrnghmm... eh?â Blinking her eyes open, she spotted a young man, brown hair just like hers, dressed in a cardigan and slacks, looking ready to go out on some date, or the like, or maybe he had more business as usual. âAndrew.â
âAkko.â He responded dryly. âItâs eight in the morning. I know itâs the weekend, but really, sleeping in isnât a good habit.â
Rolling over to shield her eyes from the intrusive sunlight and man, she waved him away sloppily, ready to get back to rest, body feeling heavy for some reason.
âAkko!â
âYou really do take my momâs place when she isnât around, Andrew.â Akko complained, sitting up, if only to get Andrew to pipe down. âAlright, I get it.â She rubbed the sleep away from her eyes, stretching her body out and taking in a breath of fresh air. âBut if youâre here, Iâm figuring my parents are out?â
She received a nod, followed by an explanation. âThey said they had a picnic date planned for the whole day.â
Akko pouted. âAww, and they didnât think to take me along? How mean~â
âThey tried to wake you up, believe me.â Andrew scoffed. âYou could sleep through world war two without problem, however.â
âGee, thanks.â
âYouâre welcome.â
âGet out, please.â
âLater.â
âIâm asking nicely.â Akko whined, slipping out of her bed, realizing she hadnât changed out of her uniform last night.
âAfter I tell you about our plans for today.â
A well-shaped brow raised in suspicion at the words. âOur plans?â Akko voiced. âWhat do you mean. âour plansâ? I donât have any plans of spending time with you today, as far as my knowledge tells me.â
âNot that you have mu-â Andrew was about to throw in the usual insulting jab, playful banter, but refrained. He did actually need Akko to go with him.
âHmm?â The lack of a biting response didnât sit quite well with Akko. Something was up with her cousin, and she was sure that she was about to find out just what.
There was an awkward pause in the air before the older boy cleared his throat; maybe he should begin with getting on her good side. âL-lovely weather weâre having today.â
âJust tell me what you want from me and leave.â
âWeâre going to the mall, please help me.â
âWhy?â
â...â
âWhy?â Akko pressed. If Andrew wasnât going to give her a good enough explanation, she wasnât going to move a single inch.
â...Itâs Deniseâs birthday soon.â He confessed, and Akko actually backed off.
âOh.â She immediately understood what Andrew wanted without him having to expound on his earlier statement. Really, he could be such an adorable dork sometimes, especially when it came to Denise.
Denise was Andrewâs set partner. She was a kind person, gentle, lady-like, intelligent, mild-mannered, but strong-willed. She was great. Too good for Andrew, Akko would tease at times. But really, they made such a good match. She liked Denise; she was sweet to Akko, exchanged treats with her, as well as tutored her from time to time, being in the same school and all. She also kept Andrew busy and out of Akkoâs hair, so she was perfect! So if not for Andrewâs sake, Akko should at least do something nice for her friend.
âGive me half an hour. Iâll be ready by then.â
Andrew breathed a sigh of relief, offering Akko a grateful smile. âThank you. Iâll see myself out then.â
âFinally!â
With a childish sticking of the tongue out at each other, a habitual thing they had formed, Andrew had closed the door to Akkoâs bedroom, not forgetting to lock it behind him for privacyâs sake. Akko was thankful.
Instead of getting up, however, and preparing for the day with Andrew out of the room, Akko lay back down on the soft mattress, eyes trained to the top of the room again. As she saw her little clusters of stars and constellations, red ribbons connecting points one to the other, always to be linked even if they were far apart, never to be broken, her regular intrusive thoughts had begun making their way to the forefront of her mind again.
Fated people... soulmates, huh. Werenât those terms just glorified ways of saying everyone was in some kind of arranged marriage they could never get out of? Wouldnât there be at least one person averse to all this? Maybe? But why... did all the people sheâs known, whoâve met their match-why did they all seem content?
Feeling for that familiar metal piece under her clothing, she pulled it out by the chain, observing it as it glinted against the morning light. Her finger traced over the engraving on the outside, admiring the workmanship, but frowning at the words.
She thought back on it all. How all this destined person stuff all started out, as the history books told them. Before the records of History ever existed, they said that the leaders of the ancient world had gathered together, seeing the âsorrow of the worldâ, and came to a decision of what to to do to make the world better in that regard. They decided that âLOVEâ was the answer, as cheesy as it sounded. And so a system was put into place that would overcome barriers and seas, both literal and figurative, of difference, and bring to mankind the meaning of true joy- Akko always found it incredibly sappy and cringey when it was laid out like that.
Like any system, there were the finer details that made it all work one way or the other. It is said that people are born issued with a ring to be worn on their person on all times. It was a mystery as well, how one could never seem to outgrow the ring. Like it was made to grow alongside you. It was made out of metal, however, and it made things all the more perplexing. Who knows what magic goes on behind all of this? No one knows who makes the rings, or who created this system; nor does anyone know who assigns partners to each other. All theyâve known are the facts that the rings were created, containing words that served to be a hint to who your soulmate is supposedly. When you meet that person, youâd just know. The words, theyâd just make sense. It didnât matter if it never did all your life. One day, everything would just click, apparently. That was how the words were chosen, they said. Then these rings would be distributed to countries and the government would be responsible in ensuring that they got to their rightful owners.
Honestly, this whole thing sounded like some deep cult-ish shit, and Akko was quite shocked that she- along with possibly millions, or billions- had never questioned it before. After all, it was the usual; as always, the norm. It could be something of a mysterious world movement that no one knew of, but with it simply claiming to have the goal of âbringing happiness to all citizensâ, people hardly seemed to mind where it took them.
Akko remembered the first time she ever found it weird. She was in the fourth grade, and that day, they had learned the importance of the words on the rings. âHints to finding your one, true love, their teacher had claimed, trying to rouse excitement from the students at the prospect of soulmates.
And while every other little girl squealed in joy and giddiness upon reading the words written on their rings, Akko had a look of distaste on her face at the sight of her words, immediately hiding the item from possibly prying eyes of her classmates who had already began to compare words with others.
She hated it. She had then ran home to tell her mother about it.
âMooommm! Mom!â
âAkko? Whatâs wrong? Youâre all sweaty and you still have your outdoor boots on-â
âWhy does my word suck so much?â
âHuh?â The woman was lost for words, confounded by a simple question.
âWhy does it suck so much? My word! Â I mean...â Holding her ring out for her Mama to see, Akko continued on her rant. âWhat the heck does cabbage even mean?! IS HE A FARMER?! DOES MY SOULMATE LIKE CABBAGE THAT MUCH?!â
âAh... well...â
âWhy couldnât it be something cool like yours and dads. âEyes like rubiesâ, and âRider from the northâ just sounds so badass and romantic! And then thereâs me with CABBAGE. Â Sure, the ring is pretty and all, but... WHAT IS CABBAGE?!â
âI... donât know, sweetheart.â
Akko had felt so frustrated with her word, that she wanted to cry. âMy soulmate sucks!â
Thinking back on those times, she sure was such a child. It wasnât her soulmateâs fault that the government or whatever authority or higher power decided to describe him or her that way. If anything, her partner is a victim of slander. Even Sucy had it better with the description. Akko chuckled mirthlessly. What are those people thinking. Ah, her head was starting to hurt from overthinking all this.
ââBring happiness to all citizensâ, my ass. With a hint as weird and cryptic as this, how am I supposed to be âhappyâ like everyone else?â Akko sighed once more, unclasping the chain from behind her neck, and taking her ring off, hanging it over her eyes, watching it dangle in the air, the elegant cursive of âcabbageâ pissing her off a little more than it should.
Along with the ring came a handbook of sorts. Akkoâs sat atop her bedside drawer. In it were more rules, guidelines, and information to be taken note of, but they could only be read at certain ages, sections sealed off by some kind of technology that only unlocked come oneâs birthday. An example of a rule was related to how to wear the ring. It didnât seem to be a heavily imposed rule as Akko had done away with it all her life. It was that rings should be worn on your right ring finger so long as you hadnât found your assigned partner, moving it to your left once you have. Akko had been ashamed of her word and had always carried it around her neck, hidden underneath her clothes. Her mother had scolded her for it in the past, but she didnât care. She didnât want to get teased by the other children for having such a strange hint. She had believed that it would give her a hard time.
And it still did. With it being so vague and odd, there was no way this hint made much sense to her, at all. Would she ever find the person her whole being was linked to for a lifetime?
Besides the rules came soulmate-related explanation for the rings and words. An instance of this would be that the meaning behind the words would only be revealed to them once they entered fourth grade. She never understood the significance of that. Why couldnât one just read through everything and understand it all at once? Well, not that it mattered. She would soon be turning eighteen, and opening a section that made her feel just the slightest bit bitter.
[What to do if you havenât found your soulmate yet.]
Sucy may have told her that each person had their own time, and that she was still young, and had plenty of years to go searching. But when everyone else around you had already found theirs by the ânormalâ designated time, youâd start to feel quite isolated and lonely, right? She was already different from the rest with the weird-ass word she was stuck with, and now she wasnât even close to being on the right track to finding the person it was pointing to.
It was frustrating.
Three knocks and a voice followed suit. âAkko? Are you ready? Itâs been about twenty-five minutes, but I didnât hear any noise coming from your room. Are you actually okay?â
Right. Andrew.
âIâm fine! Sorry, I got lost in thought. Be right out! Maybe in fifteen! My bad, really.â
âItâs fine, Iâm the one requesting a favor, after all!â Andrew responded through the wood, and Akko felt his presence leave her immediate area.
Hopping off her bed and grabbing her towel, she made her way to the bathroom. Maybe a cold shower would help her stop thinking about all of this for a few. She really should stop questioning the whole system of practically the whole world. It wasnât good for her sanity.
Turning on the shower and soaking herself, her assumption of her endangered mental health was confirmed.
âAH, I FORGOT TO STRIP!â
//-//-//-//-//
âYou sure took your sweet time getting ready.â Andrew commented, locking the door behind them and tossing the keys into his pocket as they got to walking. Opening the gate for Akko with a bow, they shared a laugh, going on their merry way down the street.
As often as they got on one anotherâs nerves, they undeniably enjoyed each otherâs company. It was nice. Akko liked it to an extent. The conversation was fun, the exchanges never dull, it was time spent well. What she didnât like about hanging around with Andrew were all the stares and glares she got from people around. Much like now.
It wouldâve been great if it ended with just observation, but there was always that one brave (or maybe stupid) soul who would come up to the pair to ask if they were an item. The brunette pair would then proceed to do their usual schtick of jumping a meter away from each other, and pretending to gag whilst glaring.
âNO WAY. WITH HER/HIM?!â
And despite the denial, instead of feeling joy at the availability of Andrew- Akko assumed it was him that people always wanted to confirm about anyway- there was no delight, only some form of fear. The creeped-out kind maybe?
Continuing their walk, Akko slapped Andrewâs shoulder, hard. The boy looked like he could bite her.
âUgh... itâs already such a pain in school when we have joint functions and people mistake us for a couple. I was hoping it was obvious we were related.â
Andrew scoffed at the statement. âIâm sorry, but Iâm actually quite pleased I donât look to be related to your ugly face.â
He deserved the stronger smack, Akko would say.
âAKKO! That hurt!â
âYou know what else hurts? The fact that people canât seem to get it in their heads that not every guy and girl walking next to each other are partners. Damn, and I used to think it was a good thing that I could use you to get out of awkward confession situations.â Sometimes people did that, despite the entire âdestined partnerâ situation. âWeird times.â
âYou actually get confessed to? Hahaha, why? Guys must need glasses.â
The tall lad flinched at the held up fist. âIâm kidding. Youâre actually growing up to be quite pretty Akko.â
Eyes wide one second, then smiling sweetly the next, a chill ran up Andrewâs spine at Akkoâs reaction... that suddenly morphed into disgust, a hand pinching his side. âEw, I kinda liked you better when you werenât so gross and cheesy.â
âAh- h-hurts, that, Akko, that stings, ouch! Let go! I was trying to be nice!â Andrew retaliated with his own pinch to Akkoâs slightly rounded cheeks. âLet go!â
âYou lwet gfho!â They released their holds at the same time, rubbing the sore spots on their bodies. âWhy were you suddenly being all weird?â
â...ate...etter...man...â
âWhat was that?â Akko couldnât understand any of Andrewâs incoherent mumbling.
â...My soulmate told me I should really try to be a better gentleman... to you...â
âHaha, sheâs right about that! Youâre such a dick!â
âOi!â
Before Andrew could physically get back at her, Akko made a dash to the mall entrance across the street right as the street light turned green for pedestrians. âLoser has to buy the other ice-cream!â
âThatâs cheating!â
âMaybe!â
//-//-//-//-//
âSee? Youâre all out of energy now because of how rowdy you were earlier today.â Andrew scolded, hands on his hips, a paper bag with the chosen gift in it, slung around one wrist.
âYâthink so? This is usually... hah... nothing... to me.â Akko panted, plopping down on one metal chair by the ice-cream bar. âWeird.â
Andrew sighed, deciding to cater to Akkoâs needs since she was nice enough to help him out today. âIâll get you a water. What flavor of ice-cream would you like?â
âMatcha-Vanilla~â Akko drawled, now slumped against the table, liking the cool surface against her somehow, heated cheek. âGo forth, my peasant!â
âNoted, your eminence.â
âMm, mm!â Akko nodded in approval, arms going under her head to cushion it. Her eyes were getting heavy. Did all that walking around really make her that tired? Her head was starting to hurt, and her body still felt heavy. Just what-
//-//-//-//-//
âAkko. Akko! Atsuko!â
â...Andrew?â
âTsk. Should I call an ambulance?â
âAndrew...â
âExcuse me, are you in need of any assistance for your friend? My family owns a hospital nearby and we could take her there.â
Akko felt Andrewâs hand supporting her suddenly tense. âGeh- Cavendish...â
âMy, Sir Hanbridge. Date?â
âCousin.â
âHmm...â
Oh? Someone... A lady? What a nice voice. Somehow it was comforting to Akko. It felt warm, it felt kind, it felt gentle. For a voice to feel something rather than sound like something, Akko must really be out of it.
Hands.
Careful, tender.
âA-An... wha-â
âAkko! Donât talk. Just rest.â
âAkko, huh. Is that her name? Miss Akko?â
âmmrm?â
âYouâll be alright.â
That voice. Akko wanted to believe it. Who...
Soft. Soft. Akko was leaning against something soft.
âYouââll be alright.â Was said again.
âAkko, youâll be alright.â Ah, Andrew. But somehow, Akko would rather hear those words from the other person currently holding her in her arms. She felt bad. Not just in the sick kind of way. What was she supposed to do again? Oh right, she was helping Andrew. Where was she? Was she causing trouble? Ah, what if she was bothering this sweet-smelling, comfortable-feeling, gentle-sounding lady.
âHey... you...â Hmm, her voice wasnât quite working like it should. Maybe she should try to express herself again. Clearing her terribly scratchy and dry throat, she managed to croak out a single word.
âSo...rry...â
âItâs alright.â
//-//-//-//-//
White ceiling, the absence of sticker-stars. Dim lighting, the low thrum of the air conditioner unit, and the occasional sound of something dripping. The scent of antiseptic.
Her right hand felt uncomfortable, like something was stuck in it. She lifted it up, seeing a slim tube running out of some secure, clear tape.
âYouâre in the hospital, idiot.â
âNever a quiet moment with you, Andrew.â
A sigh. âI was worried.â
â...Mm. Iâm sorry...â
âYou didnât tell me you were feeling unwell.â
âI wasnât.â
âDonât lie.â
âCouldnât tell.â
âAkko!â
âSay, Andrew. Who was with you earlier?â
âDonât change the subject, Akko- huh?â Reprimanding words died on the boyâs lips as the question sunk in. âAhhh.â Recollections of earlier events came in. âThe daughter of the owner of this place.â He threw in a few other details he thought Akko would want to know. âHigh-class lady. This place does too.â He decided to humor her queries, knowing she didnât want to argue with Andrew anymore. He didnât either, not when she was like this. A time and place for everything.
âHmm...â Akko hummed, sitting upright and looking out the window. Andrew panicked, stepping forward, but Akko shooed her cousin away. âShe sounded nice.â Akko commented. âWas she pretty?â Somehow her mind wanted to know. Her heart was clenching in some unknown need to know more about a voice she barely registered, a touch she fleetingly felt.
âYou could say that. I guess to most, sheâd be considered gorgeous?â Andrew mused. âWeird hair though.â Was added as an afterthought.
âHeh...â
âCurious?â He didnât say it in a teasing town, only genuinely inquisitive at Akkoâs not-so-subtle expression of interest in someone she barely even met.
âNo? Not really.â She responded, everything becoming still. âCan I go home?â
âOnce your tests come in.â
âHow long have I been here?â
âOvernight.â
âMama and dad?â
âDropped by while you were asleep. Uncle was sobbing buckets, but Auntie dragged him out because they both had work. They paid off the bill and said theyâll see you when we all get home.â
Akko sighed, dropping back against her pillows. âI canât believe Iâve caused so much trouble in a span of, what, three days?â Covering her face with one of the pillows, she screamed lightly into it, the muffled sound concerning Andrew. âI have to apologize a lot to them. Have to make it up to them... I even had them spend a lot of money on -ow! Andrew!â
Retracting the hand he used to chop her head, Andrew huffed. âStop that. Your parents love you, youâre not a bother. Shut it. If you really want to make it up to them, get some rest right now as we wait, and get better soon. I suggest you make some dinner if youâre well enough.â He knew she often had insecurities, and tried her best not to bother people so much. Heâd observed it from her relationship with her two best friends. She really was just a ball of energy that she couldnât help but cause scenes, though. People hardly minded, anyway. If only she realized.
âDuly noted.â
Andrew nodded, walking over to the bed and sitting at the edge, whipping his head about to glare at the  owner of the leg that had just attempted to kick him off.
âYouâre making the foam awkwardly sink. Itâs uncomfortable. Youâre inconveniencing the patientâs recovery.â Akko grinned, trying to get rid of the stuffy atmosphere that had settled by stirring up another banter session.
âCould you settle down for once?â
âI mean, I could.â
âUnbelievable.â He chuckled. âFine, fine, Iâll give you your space. Iâm going to the store. Want anything?â He offered, since the ice-cream he initially was supposed to treat her to as thanks was long since forgone on some cemented floor, probably already cleaned up by the workers of the shop.
âOrange juice.â
âCoffee? Understood.â
âAss.â
âThe good ass genes run in our family.â
âOh my gosh, you did not just say that.â Akko guffawed, waving her hands, eyes sparkling with pride at the crude joke of her prim and proper, perfect-gentleman cousin.
âI did not just say that.â Andrew smirked. âNow rest before your fever comes back from all that tension you release. Good thing youâre off school for a while.â
âDonât remind me.â
âIâll be back in fifteen.â
âHai~â
âDonât disappear.â
â...â
âAKKO!â
âI wonât, I wonât!â She giggled, dropping the tease. âNow scram!â
âI swear to god...â
And with that, she was alone again.
Great. More time alone with her thoughts. And what better way to occupy that blank space that was her mind then to fill it with all her doubts, insecurities, and questionings.
One particular question stood out at that moment.
âWho... was the owner of that voice...â Along with that single question came a wave of interconnected ones that Akko could not understand. Why was there this sudden desire to just... know.
What did she look like? How tall was she? Was she fair-skinned? Tanned? Long hair? Short hair? Curled or not? How old was she? Were they the same age? Was she an older lady? Was she maybe in the same grade? From the haze that was her memories, it seemed Andrew knew her? An acquaintance? Why couldnât he give Akko more details besides insulting that womanâs hair? Where was she from? She had an accent. British? Scottish? Did she live around these parts? Why...
Why was Akko so curious?
Knock. Knock. Knock.
âAndrew, you know you can just, like... come in, right? You know I canât even get up to open the door for yoouuu...huuu...â With the door swinging open to reveal the person on the otherside, Akko could only hope that she did not appear to be the stupid-looking gay dance she most probably was. â-...huuu...who...?â
âBeautiful.â
âI apologize for the intrusion, but I just wanted to check on you. Oh, you may not even know me, Iâm sorry. I should probably introduce myself, isnât that right? Oh blood hell, Andrew, telling me to check on someone I barely know because you want to go off somewhere...â Akko heard her mutter that last bit under her breath before watching this gorgeous lady seemingly recover her senses. â-Ah, apologies, um... sorry! Wow, I suppose Iâm saying that too much, arenât I? We didnât exactly âmeetâ earlier, but... I donât know, I was probably meddling in issues not concerning me, but... I couldnât help but want to help you out. It was an automatic reaction as someone who has wanted to be a healthcare professional all my life, and I was so used to it, and then it just so happened to be Andrew and... well, you and- and I-â Fair skin, lithe, fairly tall frame, a melodic voice, gorgeous blue eyes hidden by long lashes and ...strange hair, due to an immediate bow upon spotting the confused gaze of the patient; this person was...
âYouâre rambling, miss.â
Said Miss bristled, expression flustered and eyes darting about in her embarrassment. âS-sorry.â
Akko panicked at the saddened apology. She just made a pretty girl sad! âN-no! I-â Their eyes met and then it was one of the most magical and equally painful moments of Akkoâs life, she concluded. âHi.â
âHello.â The girl nodded back in acknowledgement.
âAkko.â She blurted out. Then just like that she witnessed a world wonder contained in such a small room, in just one girl. There was just something in the way her eyes lit up that pleased Akko very much. It was as though she was the catalyst for such a breath-taking phenomena. Blue stars, passionately burning, brightly so, like her favorite celestial bodies. â...Rigel...â She murmured.
âHuh?â
âOh? Huh? Eh, um...â Arms flapping about, she tried to graps control of the conversation, not knowing where it was going anymore. âUh, my... name! My name is Akko! Ahaha, sorry âbout that.â --She scratched the back of her head sheepishly with the hand not attached to the IV tube.
âMiss Akko... Rigel?â She tilted her head, and by gods that was the cutest thing Akko had ever seen in her life. But Wait-
âOh! No, nono... no hahaha.â She laughed, waving her hands in front of her, realizing that what she said had been mistaken as her name.
âI... My name is Kagari Atsuko, but you can call me Akko.â She clumsily reintroduced herself.
âAnd Rigel...?â
âIs a blue star that is put to shame when in comparison to your ethereal ocean eyes-â
âOh, itâs just... just a star I like, hahaha...ha..ha.â She needed to save this dying interaction, fast. She didnât want this goddess of a lady to walk away just yet. Who was she? Why was Akko panicking so badly? Why was her heart running miles per second? Where did these confusing feelings stirring from her chest come from? Could this just be... Was this girl... Was she... could she be who Akko thought she was? She didnât even know her name yet, but the way she made her feel, it was like some universal, natural phenomena that could only make sense in the context of... that. Who was she? Who was she? Who-
âDiana.â
Diana, apparently.
âDiana.â She tested, the name unfamiliar, but incredibly welcome and sliding off her tongue so naturally, and with ease. Like she was meant to know such a name all her life. âNice to meet you.â
She patted herself on the back for a good greeting, with good manners, even happier when she received a soft smile in return.
âThe pleasure is all mine.â
âNo, no, the pleasure is mine, I mean... pleasure, Iâm... feels good to meet you, I mean, because you saved me and all, from what I can understand, so pleasure, good feels- no- what am i saying?! Iâm sorry, Diana, er miss? Diana? Miss Diana?â
âDiana is fine.â
Diana was indeed SO fine.
âTh-thank you for being so beautiful.â
âWhat?â
âTha-thanks for saving me, I mean, helping Andrew out in saving me, but that means you saved me too, so I just thought I should properly thank you and all that and express gratitude because thatâs the right thing to do, amiright? And of course Iâm right so thank you, Diana, thanks for everything, and the hospital and the room and all, oh but you donât own it, but your family does, so does that mean you own it-â
âAkko.â
âYes?!â
âYouâre rambling, Akko.â
Akko was a burning hot mess of foolishness, but if it prompted such heavenly giggles from such an angel- no a goddess, alongside her name that sounded divine coming from soft pink lips- that she was absolutely not staring at- then she hardly minded at all.
And then there was silence.
âSo...â
âSo...â
Diana awkwardly shuffled on her spot, the tip of her shoe tapping against the floor impatiently, hand fiddling with a button on her shirt. It took so much willpower for Akko not to direct her eyes there.
âI guess Iâll get going.â
âA-already?â
âEh?â
âEh?â
âAh... I mean... if you have... stuff to do, I guess... I... shouldnât be stopping you or anything of the sort, right?â
Akko didnât like that frown, however miniscule it was, on Dianaâs face.
âI... Iâm a little busy, I apologize.â She spoke softly. Akkoâs heart clenched, and she cursed her insensitive ways. âBut... I can come back tomorrow? If youâd like?â -And it leaped up in joy just as quick. More time! More Diana! More getting to know her!
âY-Yes! Of course! Iâll wait here for you! Pinky swear! I- woah...â The world was suddenly spinning, and Akko had to lean back for a moment, vision swimming in color.
âAkko!â
Said girl was beginning to get addicted to the feeling of Dianaâs presence by her side. That was not necessarily a good or bad thing. She couldnât get attached to her, not when she knew nothing about her. She couldnât... be acknowledging these feelings blossoming out of nowhere without confirmation of whether or not this person was meant to be hers, and she was meant to be with as well. But she was addicting, Diana. A strong drug. Just one whiff and she was high on her existence.
âGeez, you should be resting. Iâm sorry for bothering you, and keeping you up this long.â
Akko heard none of those words. Akko was curious. So Akko just had to check. Hands weakly grasping Dianaâs cooler ones, fingers roamed, feeling around until they touched even colder metal... on Dianaâs... left... hand.
âAkko?â The concern was palpable in her voice, Akkoâs senses blurring the world out as her hands dropped to her side.
Frustrating.
She somehow hoped what sheâd been experiencing these past few minutes were the signs of her finding her soulmate, but it seemed as though she may have been wrong. Maybe it was simply infatuation, or a shameless lust overtaking her in her weakened state.
It shouldnât be this frustrating.
It shouldnât be this painful.
She shouldnât have been so impatient and jumped to subconscious conclusions.
Diana had already found her soulmate. Just like everyone else.
Everyone but Akko.
//-//-//-//-//
When she came to, it was dark. She felt much better than she had yesterday, and earlier on today. Turning to her right, she saw Andrew seated on a chair, back facing her as he was conversing with someone.
âI wonder what got into that girl? Her new friend seemed worried.â That voice...
âMama.â
âYou mean Diana?â
Akko flinched at the name.
âIs that her name? My, she was so cute. If you werenât already matched to someone, Andrew, I think youâd look good together.â Akko felt a twinge in her chest, only slightly soothed by the sound of Andrew choking on something, his drink maybe. Tea? Coffee?
âIâd rather not be involved with her like that.â Andrew responded after composing himself.
âEehh-â
Akko couldnât listen any longer. The pain of everything was just starting to come back. She just wanted to get away. Away from this place that kept reminding her of her chance encounter. She just wanted to go home. She just wanted to hug her mama.
âMa...ma...â Her voice warbled. âMama...â She tried, louder. Somehow her voice was so weak, the thought of it not being able to reach the person she trusted the most in the world, hurt. âMa... ma... mama! Mamaaa...â Slowly, she regained her voice, cracked and unsteady. And finally she was heard. âMama!â
âAkko!â Before Akko could even blink again, the woman was at her side, a hand brushing bangs away to clear her warm forehead, a refreshing kiss planted there. âAkko, my baby.â
âM-mama... Mamaaa...â She moaned out, engulfing the woman in her tight hold, sinking into a familiar scent. âMama...â
âYes, Yes. Iâm here. Iâm here, Akko.â She cooed, hands combing through chocoloate-colored tresses.
âMama.â
âYes?â
âI wanna go home.â
âEh? But you arenât okay yet-â
âPlease. Let me go home...â
She felt her mother pull back. She couldnât face the eyes seeking hers. âAkko? Whatâs wrong, sweetheart? Youâre not feeling well, and yet you want to go home before you get better. Is something the matter?â Akko couldnât lie to those.
But she could try.
âI just think Iâll be able to rest better at home. My... my fever isnât that bad.â
âBut you were just crying out for me...â
âI was just... feeling lonely. Please, Mama. Letâs go home.â She couldnât say it was because she didnât want to meet a certain lady, weird blonde hair and enchanting blue stars never leaving her memory. âPlease...â Because more than the pain inflicted by her sickness, she couldnât stand the squeezing of her heart, its labored pounding more burdensome than the throbbing in her head. âPlease, mama.â
âAkko...â
âDonât be such a selfish brat.âAndrew scolded, eyes burning into the Akkoâs skin. âDidnât you just say you didnât want to cause anyone trouble?â
Akko deflated in her motherâs embrace, and the elder boy sighed. He really hated seriously hurting Akko, especially emotionally. âBut... We can leave first thing in the morning tomorrow, if you prove to be alright.â He turned the other way, hiding his expression from the girl. âSo just get better.â
âAndrew...â
âGet better soon.â
//-//-//-//-//
It was against institutional rules to be running about in the building at any given time. Crowded or cleared, the halls were not made for such dangerous sport. Workers constantly made their way through these corridors; some pushing wide carts carrying planned food and beverage for every patient in the hospital; some nurses walked along with important, and sometimes painstakingly prepared medicine and treatments for patients that Diana threatened to compromise should she bump into them. In other areas she could risk bumping into one of the sanitary maintenance people, infectious waste at the risk of being spilled all over.
And Diana grew aware of all these things, surrounded by them from a tender age. Yet at this moment, she was in complete disregard for them, her footsteps rushed and padding softly against a marbled floor. Her eyes scanned every plaque above each door she passed, counting off the numbers, and reading the letters, her trip on autopilot.
One more corner, just the end of that corner. If she rounded that, then walked past three more rooms- She was feeling a regretful that she couldnât come by earlier, the colors of the afternoon sky telling her just how close she was cutting it to the end of visiting hours. Curse all the school-transfer procedures she had to sit through. They didnât need to take that long, did they? But she had made a promise of sorts. She had promised her new... friend, Akko that sheâd come by and see her. She must not keep her waiting. She didnât quite understand what it was that made her so happy about the prospect that the other girl actually wanted to see her- Diana assumed as such with how she was acting yesterday. Really... it was amazing.
Diana herself couldnât deny that she saw something different in Akko, a substance far beyond what others could offer her that suddenly shifted the usual motions of her world upon meeting this girl. All her life, so many people came along trying to woo her, claiming that she was the one defined by their flimsy phrases that never moved her heart. âBeautiful lassâ, âdoctorâs daughterâ, titles among other things. She had even found out a few faked rings that had been promptly reported to authorities for the grave sin committed. Thus, Diana could trust no words written on silly little rings; only the one written on her own, worn about her left ring finger.
She hadnât found her soulmate, no. And maybe this was against the universal rules of whatever matchmaking system had engulfed society, but Diana did not want to be caught in a trap of a forever she could not escape unless she was absolutely sure that this was it. Maybe it would be unfair to her soulmate; maybe it would throw them off; maybe they wouldnât realize right away; but if there was one thing Diana believed in that was rooted in this entire system, it was that if you met the one meant for you, you would know.
Her mother told her so. And Diana trusted her motherâs words above all other words.
One more door, one more plaque. Diana readied a hand to knock against closed-...open? The door was... open. Did Akko have visiting doctors? They sometimes left doors open for quick checks to save time during rounds. But no, that did not seem to be the case. She was surprised to see one of the cleaning personnel of the hospital folding up the sheets of the bed, passing it to his companion before they changed the covers.
Approaching an elderly male of the pair currently clearing the room out of any trash possibly left behind, Diana respectfully inquired, âUm sir? Where is the occupant of this room?â.
âHmm? Ah! Young Miss, what are you doing here? Oh, were you perhaps the friend of the little girl staying here recently?â
âYou... could say that.â Diana muttered, unsure.
âOh, then she must have just forgotten to tell, you ey? Already left, yâsee. The little miss, along with her mother and some fine lookinâ gentleman. Do you think that could be âer soulmate? Ah~ young, concerned love.â
Diana tasted an inexplicable bitterness in her mouth, heart squeezing. âY-young man?â
âMm-mm! Handsome fella, looked kinda familiar, but maybe Iâm just getting it on in years.â
That... couldnât be, right? While Diana wasnât one to be guided purely by feeling, priding in her rationality, she just knew that that couldnât be. After all... Akko was the only one sheâd ever felt this strongly for in the lifetime sheâs lived so far. Sheâd swear on her familyâs motto of âaffectionâ that sheâd only offer her fullest romances to the one the universe had destined for her, corny as that may sound.
She just knew it. She just knew it was Akko.
So who-
Andrew.
She suddenly chuckled. Of course. Who else could that young chap accompanying Akko be? He was the one who came with Diana to the hospital, he was the one who had told her go take that first visit. So of course, logically, without a doubt, the man that Akko should have been with was Andrew. Of course.
And there was nothing to worry about, soulmate-wise. Diana knew Andrew already had someone. Sheâd met up with them constantly at banquets. There was no obstacle, no other person for Akko. Right?
Akko... Akko who wasnât here. In this room. Gloom encompassed her heart as she stared at the room dimming bit-by-bit as the staff turned off the lights. They told her that they should get leaving, and Diana nodded, informing them sheâd just do one last look over the room for any possible missed items, then sheâd lock the room herself, to which the workers reluctantly agreed, unable to go against the ownerâs daughter. Well, she was known to be a good kid, so nothing should be wrong with that.
Diana, now left alone, remained stood by the doorway that served as the only light source to the room for a few more seconds. It wasnât like constantly looking into it would magically make the one she was seeking appear, huh? With a deep exhale, she closed the door behind her, frown tugging at the edges of her mouth.
âYou said youâd wait for me.â
//-//-//-//-//
Scritch. Scratch. A line, then two. A squiggle, a letter. A bubble from brew-
...huh?
âArenât you supposed to be helping me with my homework?â Akko frowns at her companion currently mixing questionable substances on her floor-table in her room. âThat is why youâre here, right?â
âCourse not. What fun would that be?â
âShouldâve known better than to invite you over.â Akko muttered under her breath, getting back to the unending pile of chemistry homework she was sure Croix assigned to them out of spite. âAnd how did you finish this all, anyway?â
âIâm smart like that.â
âYouâre mean like that. Why canât you help me out at least?â
âI believe that learning for yourself is the best teacher.â Sucy replied, emotionless as always.
âNo you donât.â
âTrue.â
âHah...â Akko gave up. Forget getting help from Sucy. That wasnât a possible feat, now that she thought about it clearly. The girl was just bored out of her mind so she easily agreed to come over. Akko was sure of it. Without Lotte in the house, and on their fifth and final schoolday away, Sucy- who had slowly gotten used to the concept of companionship- must have just wanted someone around, regardless of whether there was flowing conversation or not.
âAkko?â Andrewâs voice came from behind the door. Finally! A distraction! Wait, wasnât Akko avoiding Andrew lately? Why was she avoiding him lately? âAkko?â
âCome in!â
â...huh? Youâre actually letting me in?â The muffled voice asked, door now ajar. âHey Akko, so... about what Iâve been telling you all week...â He began, looking nervous, and Akko had to wonder why. âSo my friend, Diana, she-â
Ah. Right.
Thatâs why.
Quick on her feet, Akko gunned for the door, pushing it forcefully, and locking Andrew out, the boyâs yells the only things making it through the barrier.
âAkko! Akko! OH, COME ON! Weâve been at this the whole week!â
âAnd I told you this whole week, I donât wanna hear it!!!â Akko hollered back.
âBut WHY?!â Andrewâs exasperation oozed out of his voice. âJust give me a reason! Give her a reason! From what Iâve heard, you seemed to have hit it off pretty well?â
âSays who?â Akko asked.
âDiana!â Andrew didnât like yelling, but Akko was being so hard-headed after he mentioned his blonde acquaintance. âJust what happened between you two?â
âNothing! Nothing happened!!!â
âThen why does she keep bugging me about you, and why are you avoiding her like the plague?!â
...Why was Akko avoiding Diana? Was there any reason to? Theyâd met just the other day, had the most awkward conversation in her life to date, and then Akko felt something. Something she shouldnât have, and let her hopes up, only to drop them lower than where they already were; and none of that was Dianaâs fault. If anything, Diana could have proven to be another great friend sheâd make along the way in life, yâknow?
Akko didnât know. She didnât know what was going on; within herself, within her mind and her heart, in that one moment frozen in time between her and Diana, in a silent hospital room.
âI donât know, Andrew. I donât.â
Sucyâs potion stopped brewing.
//-//-//-//-//
âMY MADLADS! I MISSED YOU UGLY FACES!â
âUgh, Amanda.â
âOi!â
Akko grinned, messing up Amandaâs fiery mane in comfort from being rejected by Sucy. âMissed you too, Amanda.â A high-five rang out through the school lobby, the two energetic troublemakers missing that burning feeling on their palms.
âBut man, you guys sure missed a lot. Who knew a week without yâall could turn the school upside-down.â Amanda whistled, their small group of eight finally assembling complete as Jasminka and Constanze walked up.
The small girl gave Akko this look that she completely understood, giving the girl a big thumbs up, and receiving a smile and nod. Jasna held out a lollipop which Akko gratefully accepted, and they all made their way to the corridors.
Suddenly registering what Amanda said a few moments ago, Akkoâs interest was piqued. âWhat did you mean by turning the school upside-down?â She wondered just how much a school could change for her who was out for a week.
âOh, well, maybe I was exaggerating a tiny bit.â Amanda chuckled, scratching her cheek. âJust that, some new girl came along and now everyone is all head over heels for her somehow.â Amanda fake-cried, sniffling up some. âShe even stole my babes! Along with all my popularity!!!â
That earned her two smacks to the head from two certain British girls. âWe already told you, she was our childhood friend! Of course weâre inclined to keep her company and show her around!â They defended, scoffing. âBesides, you didnât mind ogling her at all the other day, huh? You should feel grateful we let you in our dorm the other day.â
âB-babies...â
âOof. You brought that on yourself, hot stuff.â Sucy grinned, wickedly. âBut now Iâm curious. If she could even catch Amandaâs eyes then...â
âTotal hottie.â Jasminka commented through a mouthful of chips. âEveryone can vouch for that.â
âWoah, even Jas...â Akko laughed lightly. âAlrighty, letâs meet this new kid in town then! Where is she and whatâs her name?â Just as they were about to pass the headmistressâ office and head for their homeroom, a hand tugged at the brunetteâs collar, along with Sucyâs.
âWait a second, you two. Youâre supposed to report to Professor Holbrooke first, right?â Lotte, ever the dutiful friend, reminded.
âAh dang, right.â Akko scratched her cheek, throwing Sucy a beckoning glance. âGuess itâs better to just get it over with.â She shrugged.
âWhatever.â
âSee you all in class!â Akko waved goodbye, smiling as Lotte left a peck on her pale friendâs cheek, enjoying her rarely flustered state. Her heart warmed when Lotte gave her one two, patting the blondeâs hair fondly. âThanks, Lotte.â
âAnytime.â
With their friends out of sight, they faced the suddenly intimidating doors.
âNow or never.â
//-//-//-//-//
âIâm glad we got excuse slips for being tardy to class. I do not want more yelling. Though I guess Prof Chariot wouldnât do that, huh.â
âWhat did you say? I think Iâve gone deaf.â Sucy complained, rubbing her pained ears. âFinneran yaps like a bitch.â
âOI! Donât let her hear you say that!â
âDonât worry, Iâm not up for more âcounseling and healthy remindersâ.â Sucy mockingly mimicked the strict teacher. âChrist, that woman must be senile.â
âShhh, weâre almost at the classroom.â Akko hushed her bestfriend, door coming into view. She could hear a Professor Chariots distinct voice posing a question to the class, and there was a quiet that Akko knew was due to no one knowing the answer, not very uncommon.
But then there was one. A voice very uncommon, but somehow familiar, attracting, pulling her in. With her curiosity getting the better of her, Akko slid the door open, planning to softly sneak into class, forgetting that the roomâs backdoor had a tendency to-
SCRREEEEECCHHHH
...that.
âH-hi? S-sorry weâre late?â Akko tried, dozens of eyes now resting on them, most surprised. But one pair stood out the most. âShe looks good in our uniform.â Akkoâs jaw hung slack, a fight or flight response hesitantly building up within her. Her legs tensed, ready to bolt or stay rooted depending on the next move the one she was staring at made. â...Rigel...â
â...Akko.â
Then a hand reached out, and she was gone. Like the wind.
//-//-//-//-//
It had been a difficult week. Amanda was definitely right when she said things had been turned upside-down. Akko felt like she was too. So Hannah and Barbaraâs childhood, hottie, transfer student, best friend just so happened to be Diana. Diana, Akko met her in the hospital and became enraptured with, Diana.
This posed a problem, along with unbearable tension within their group. Akko would always want to run away, and Diana would always seek after her. After awhile, the blonde grew weary, and just distanced herself, her childhood bestfriends obviously sticking by her side. Amanda had girlfriends to attend to. And Constanze and Jas usually followed Amanda. So now, it was just Sucy, Lotte, and little olâ Akko. Like old times.
âAkko, just why are you avoiding Miss Cavendish? How do you know her?â Lotte asked on their way home. âPlease? Tell us? I canât stand to not spend time with the other girls anymore just because you two are at unknown odds. Youâre a kind person, Akko. And Miss Cavendish is as well, from how Iâve gotten to know her lately.â
âLotte, you... you wouldnât get it.â Akko sighed. She was tired of entertaining Diana-related questions. All the âwhy donât you two get alongâ interrogations wearing her down thin: with Andrew at home, and Hannah and Barbara indirectly hounding her in school at every chance theyâd get, trying to fish out for an answer that Diana couldnât give to them herself, apparently. Not that Akko blamed her. She must just be as confused as everyone else with regards to Akkoâs averse reactions.
âM-maybe I could try?â Akko missed the shift in the Finâs tone, irritation over the week threatening to make her lose self-control and lash out. But no, she couldnât do that. Not too sweet Lotte. She still had her senses intact.
âNo, Iâm sure you wouldnât.â She firmly stated through gritted teeth, not looking at Lotte as she replied, so unlike her.
âI-I-â
âAkko, Lotte just wants to understand you.â Sucy stepped in, feeling that change in the air that she didnât quite fancy. âWhy canât you just tell us? I know I may not act like it a lot, but arenât we your best friends?â Akko held back a hiss behind pearly whites. She didnât want to be a bad person. She had to be considerate of peopleâs feelings. Like always. Everyone was just curious. They were all just confused... but then Sucy had to just say, âDonât you trust us?â
And Akko couldnât hear that.
âI trust you! I do!â She whipped her head about, pointing a finger to them one-by one. âBut you guys, you wouldnât get it because you have your soulmate by your side constantly, okay?!â
âAkko...â Lotteâs eyes widened.
âI... Iâve been waiting a lot, and I know you said Iâm being impatient. It doesnât have to be now.â Akko huffed. âBut do you know how it feels to look at all of you, all happy with someone who can love you completely? Understand you completely? I donât have that! Not yet! And sure, somewhere down the future road, I might.... and itâs stupid of me, but Iâm a lot more jealous and selfish than I look, okay? Everyone has nice words, and has met the person those words described perfectly, at the designated time, normally, as the book says.â
âAkko, the book doesnât completely control everything-â
âAnd here I am, always subconsciously looking around, because maybe my person is out there too, yâknow? But how the heck do I know?â A hand reached for the chain on her neck, ripping it out of her shirt so hard, it broke, the ring flying onto the ground. âStupid! Stupid chain! Stupid Ring! Stupid words! Akko marched the few steps to the item, bending and snatching it off the ground, hand going in too hard, too fast that she scraped her knuckles badly in the process, the area quickly leaking red. âSh- damn it, stupid- gaahhh!â
âA-Akko.â
Lotte stepped back, retracting the hand that had been reaching out for the heated Japanese girl, stomping at the ground. This... wasnât an Akko she knew. How many years of pent up frustration was going into this session?
âYou guys,â Her eyes were scary, sharp and menacing. Sucy jumped in front of Lotte at the sight of Akkoâs bloodied knuckles coming their way at eye-level. But then it stopped. âYou havenât seen it, right? My words.â
They couldnât even react.
âCabbage.â Akko spat. âGoddamn cabbage. How am I supposed to know what that fucking means. How are you guys supposed to understand when... I canât either... these words... myself... why Iâm so impatient... what Iâm feeling... Why... I thought it couldâve been Diana, but...â
â...but what, Akko?â Lotte hated how scared she sounded, seeing Akko flinch, knowing her friend noticed her fear. She knew how afraid of hurting her friends Akko was. This was all just a shock. Thatâs all. âWhatâs... whatâs with Diana, Akko? Diana and you?â She posed the earlier question for the last time. Was Akko hinting at what she thought it was?
âShe wears it on her left.â
//-//-//-//-//
Orange juice didnât taste as good when you drank it alone on the stairwell leading to the roof. It would have been better had she been able to stand under the cloudy mid-day sun, the refreshing breeze taking her mind off things. But then it just had to rain, hard, and that ruined all her plans of clearing her mind via the healing powers of nature. Maybe she shouldnât have told Sucy and Lotte to stay away and give her space. Having no one to talk to really sucked. More so than the strange word on her stupid government-issued ring.
âAhhh, should I just go and apologize to everyone?â She muttered, squeezing the juicebox she thought sheâd emptied, but did not know had bits of liquid left. The purely concentrated citrus then spilled onto her exposed, skinned knuckles, making her hiss in pain. âTsk, stupid. Grrr!â
âAh-!â
âAh?â The yelp caught her attention. She was alone in this place, right? âHello?â
No response.
âAnyone there?â The only ones replying to her were the winds that howled behind the metal door that led to open roof. Those sounds were starting to sound like how sheâd imagined ghosts would in the dead of night. âHelloooo~â
Still nothing.
âMaybe it was just my imagination?â
âSTAY AWAY!â
Okay, that was NOT her imagination. That was a girl. Looking around for some kind of weapon, Akko readied herself to beat up whatever girl-harassing creep sheâd find once she rounded the bend in the stairwell. Holding up a sturdy wooden broom, she tiptoed down, steps making no sound.
On three, sheâd jump and smack the living shit out of whoever was there. One... two...
âAkko, please save me!â
And she slipped and fell in her surprise; her back was going to hurt like hell over the next few days. Alas! She must stay vigil! Save whoever this damsel in distress was- Diana... It was Diana. Diana Cavendish, as sheâd learned the girlâs name, and a few other trivial details about her, over the course of their time not together. (Akko also denies any and all claims that state that she spent a lofty amount of time observing the taller girl. She didnât know things like how she was Scottish, or how she loved horses and anything that looked like a unicorn, and that she was intelligent, and smelled like vanilla and mint.)
âIâll save you?â She managed in her ruffled state. Before she could process anything more, the girl had clung to her, both now laying on the floor; one in an utter state of bewilderment, and the other... dealing with whatever it was she got going on before Akko had found her. âUmm... Diana?â She tried, forgetting her phobia of the girl over the past few days, and rubbing her back gently to gain her attention. She was shaking like the leaves outside in the storm. Just what had happened. âDiana? Whatâs wrong? What am I saving you from?â
There were no signs of any bad guys, as far as Akko could see. She was grateful for that. She wasnât sure she could defend them in this position.
âMiss Cavendish? Heir to a billion-dollar hospital? Whatâs up?â She was trying to be nonchalant in an attempt to possibly calm the girl, and it worked somewhat, allowing her to see that beautiful face, tear-stained and all. âH-Hi.â How lame.
âAkko... the... there... it...â
âHmm?â She lent an open ear, looking around, still not seeing any signs of danger. Then a well-manicured finger came up and pointed to one of the panels of the hallwayâs windows. Akko squinted, not seeing anything. Had Diana seen some kind of floating ghost outside? Or was she seeing it inside, and Akko didnât have the sixth sense for it? Did Diana have some kind of sixth sense? âWhat exactly...â
âB...â
âBuh..?â
âBee.â She squeaked.
Akko gawked.
âBee.â
âB-bee.â
âBee?â
âBee!â
âB-â
âAkko, please just get it away! Iâm scared!â
âY-yes, maâam!â She scrambled to her feet, but not without gently seating Diana up, even if it was on the dirty corridor floor. Opening the window and grimacing as strong winds blew droplets of water into her face, Akko shooed the poor insect into natureâs claws of death. âSorry, buddy. Princess doesnât seem to like you.â Blowing it a kiss, she shut the window, wiping her face on the sleeve of her jacket.
Now... to face a larger problem... or not face it. Maybe Akko should get running again.
She should.
âWell, this was nice and all that, but I guess I should get- ouch!â Diana had caught her hand in alarm, accidentally pressing against her open, yet-to-heal wounds.
âM-my apologies!â
âItâs f-fine. Itâs okay, please let... let go.â Akko didnât like the way her heartrate spiked in Dianaâs presence. It grew even more erratic, wildly jumping every which way in her chest as her hand was held more gently, blue eyes scrutinizing the reddened skin, the heiress didnât seem to have any plans of releasing her. âDiana?â
âMay I... May I treat you? That blue sparkle was redirected from her knuckles to her own dark reds. They were so hopeful and compelling that Akko, despite thinking that avoiding Diana would kill whatever held-back, buds of feelings she hoped to dash, just couldnât help but consent, cursing the way her chest lightened, heart soaring.
She was absolutely doomed.
//-//-//-//-//
It was a quiet affair.
Torturous. No one said a word. To be fair, theyâve only had two somewhat proper conversations so far, so not knowing how to break the ice shouldnât be that odd.
But it was, and Akko couldnât take it. Diana had just finished cleaning Akkoâs wounds under the sink in the infirmary, and was now dabbing them gently with antiseptic. She was so careful, touches feather-like soft. Akko barely felt anything, much less pain. So maybe she could start with talking about that. Maybe.
âYou... Youâre hands are real nice.â
âH-huh?âAnd down fell the cottonball sheâd been holding.
âI-I mean... youâre really good at this. Tender and all that. Youâd... make a good doctor.â Akko commented off the top of her head, running out of things to say, as she always did when faced with one Diana Cavendish. âA pretty doctor. Patients would... probably feel healed just from your... face. Or something.â Smooth, Akko. Smooth. Could Diana, like... at least help her out a little by responding? âPlease say something.â Akko begged in a whisper.
âO-oh, I... thank you, Akko. Thank you for the compliment. I...â Momentarily lifting her eyes and meeting Akkoâs gaze, the blonde averted hers, a thin touch of red spreading up to her ears, not unnoticed by the injured Japanese. âI appreciate your words.â
Akko hummed, not trusting her mouth to communicate properly anymore.
âI think youâre... face is a healing balm as well.â
Akko felt herself blush as well, head tilting up so she could face the ceiling. It was one of the most brainless compliments sheâd ever heard in her life, and she knew she just said something along those lines as well. And yet it made her heart flutter like nothing else had before.
âDonât mention it and... thanks.â
//-//-//-//-//
You never know when an event becomes a catalyst for reality to undergo great changes. Their little bandaging session had returned the next day. Akko was quite clumsy with these types of things. Each time sheâd gotten hurt in an accident, sheâd always ask Lotte to do it... but today... all their friends, and even the classmates theyâd unintentionally dragged into their awkward little world, were staring in awe as Kagari Atsuko stood in front of Diana Cavendishâs desk, inviting her out to the infirmary.
âI-Iâm just having her help me with my bandages! Donât get the wrong idea!â Akko yelled as she guided Diana out, unknowingly holding her hand all the while. No one commented on it. Not even Barbara and Lotte who were exchanging curious little smiles. Something was changing. And it was a good change.
Reaching the infirmary, Akko headed straight for the sink, rinsing her knuckles under clean water while Diana gathered what she needed. Once done, they met by some chairs placed about the room and took a seat, the blonde girl looking over Akkoâs hand.
âCome tomorrow, you might not need to bandage it anymore. Just apply some ointment. I think the nurse can recommend something.â Diana stated, looking up to smile at Akko who flushed at the attention.
âO-okay. I got it.â
âGreat.â She then got to work, applying what needed to applied, and wrapping the clean white bandage after. Diana did this in her usual silence, focused. Sort of. There was one thing that had been nagging her for quite some time now, ever since she got to take a better look at Akko, now that they attended the same school. It was a  unnerving, however. It hadnât been long at all since they... âgot alongâ, and Diana didnât want to present something that might cause them to drift apart again. But it was eating at her, the need to know about it. It would determine how sheâd interact with Akko from now on. It would show her what kind of relationship she was allowed to pursue. She needed a confirmation. She braced herself. Trying shouldnât hurt. She could change the subject after testing the waters.
âAkko.â
âHmm?â Was the casual-sounding hum.
âSheâs calm. Calmer around me.â That little detail made Diana happy. So happy. This was progress. âMay I ask a question?â
There was a pause, and Diana considered backing out. It appeared as though Akko was thinking about it deeply. Before Diana could take it back, Akko responded, âSure. Ask away.â, and the heiress breathed a relieved sigh. âWhat did you wanna know?â
âWell, um... I just happened to notice that... you donât...â Diana was really hoping this wasnât a sensitive subject. Sheâd finally managed to close the gap between her and Akko. Sure it was by unconventional, and very strange means- unintentional, above all. She had just been worried about the girl upon seeing that her friend group was all gathered in the classroom except her. So Diana had gone searching, and was planning to offer to stay away from her friends for Akkoâs sake. She was glad that things turned out the way it did, though.
âDiana?â
âUm... Akko.â She finished her job, smiling at the neat covering on her.. friendâs... hand. (They were friends now, right? At the very least...)
âYes?â Akko seemed to notice the hesitation, and her instincts guided her to take hold of Dianaâs trembling hands, encouraging her to continue.
Well this was new, Diana thought. Now or never, she supposes. A deep breath, and the floodgates opened.
âI just wondered... why... donât you have a ring? Did you somehow lose it? Is that possible? But how? Wouldnât you get in trouble with... everyone, I guess? Have you found your soulmate or not? If yes then I should probably just say goodbye here and, oh but not in the way you think, you might not get what I mean, but I still want to be friends-â
âDiana.â
âYes?â
Akkoâs cheeks puffed up, trying to hold it in, but ultimately failing as she burst into giggles, instinctively tucking a stray strand of hair behind Dianaâs ear as she leaned forward to bump their foreheads together.
Ah, screw fate and itâs ways. Screw Dianaâs soulmate that existed somewhere out there. In this one moment, she just felt so at peace, and in place, sheâd deal with all the raging storms in her mind later. For now, it was just the two of them, hanging out in an infirmary, the smell of antiseptic on them, stupid words be damned.
âYouâre rambling.â
//-//-//-//-//
It had been a few weeks- maybe just shy of two months- of friendship (?) with Diana, and Akko had never felt more alive in all her years. They had even spent her birthday together! Well, everyone else was there to, but... Anyway. The afternoon the question had been dropped, she had ended up explaining to the Scot her story with the ring, leaving out the detail of what it had written on it. That was a little too embarrassing for her to share yet. Baby steps.
Sheâd never dare ask about Dianaâs ring, and she appreciated that the girl never brought up any soulmate talk that involved herself. Akko felt that it helped her cope with this one-sided love a little longer. She would no longer deny this attraction. She was so undeniably into Diana, it was crazy. She didnât understand how teenage hormones and falling in love worked, but somehow she just knew. She felt a little apologetic to her soulmate, no longer feeling the need to search for him and her, the section of, [What to do if you havenât found your soulmate yet.] remaining untouched. But well... things happen sometimes.
And sometimes, you become so much of a fool that you invite the girl you are in love with, who already has a soulmate, to your house, to your room, just so she can be the first to see that portable planetarium projector you were finally able to get your hands on for an affordable deal. You wouldnât even cry at losing months worth of saved allowance and work wages. It was all worth it, to see her entire being practically glowing in awestruck wonder as you lay on your backs on the cushioned floor, having the chance to flaunt years of star study to your crush. The impressed gazed directed at you felt so good. You could get used to this. Especially when the visage of wonder glimmering in the dear girlâs eyes was outright precious.
A Diana in awe was cute.
So much so that Akko was in awe.
âHey Diana...â
âHmm?â
âDo you believe in magic?â
What a strange thing to ask in that moment. Thatâs what Diana thought. Akko thought the same. Just what had gotten over her. Yet she still wondered, thoughts flying far off into space, just as they always did when she gazed upon the stars in the night sky- or her ceilingâs artificial one.
âWhat are you saying, Akko?â Diana chuckled, right hand reaching out to grasp Akkoâs, fingers lacing together. She felt her heart flip as it was squeezed tight, unaware of the inner turmoil Akko was enduring at the lack of presence of a ring on that hand. Their eyes remained trained to the glowing heavenly bodies above, stories of the past, of fate, and the like, written all over.
âDo you believe in other worlds, Diana?â
âWell, many studies propose that they indeed exist.â Diana responded.
âWhat about alternate universes? A completely different you out there, living a different life.â
Diana turned her head to face Akko, the brunette still facing upwards, eyes glistening with unshed tears, barely noticeable in the dim lighting; but Diana always noticed. Because it was Akko.
âDonât you think that somewhere out there... there could be another version of us; maybe a clumsy me, and a fantastic you, saving the world with strange words not understood by the rest of the world?â
âMaybe...â Diana breathed out in a whisper, oxygen effectively stolen by the tear that slipped down shapely cheeks. The moment felt so fragile, she was afraid if she made a move, it would shatter into a million pieces, never to see the light of day.
And god forbid it happen. Diana wanted to boast this tender feeling out under the brightness of the sun, for the world to witness.
âWhy do you ask?â
She listened in agony at the choked intake of air, followed by the frailest of whispers. âBecause maybe... the impossible for the Kagari Atsuko here... is possible for the Akko there.â
The heiress pondered those phrases a moment. â...Impossible, like?â Diana replied in equally hushed tones, something hopeful in her pitch.
âLike you being meant for me, and I for you.â
But Akko couldnât just say that.
âAs impossible as using magic here, maybe?â Akko laughed in a normal, in-house voice, volume not too loud, but no longer a whisper. She should just bury her illegal thoughts deep down.
âI guess so.â She deflated. What had she desired to hear anyway? âMagic does seem like an unattainable power, some unimaginable, impossible concept.â Maybe she should get ready to leave soon. There was something heavy weighing in the atmosphere and in her heart, and she did not wish for a memory as sweet as this to turn sour due to her mood.
âYou think so?â Akkoâs steadying voice kept her rooted in place. âWhat if it isnât so impossible after all?â
âHow so?â
âWell, donât they say that when people put their minds to it, when they truly desire and wish for it with all their hearts... like how the song goes, yâknow? âWhen you wish upon a star your dreams come trueâ, or something.â
âLike the law of attraction and manifestation?â Diana supplied. âIf you think positive things, positive things will come to you. Your reality becomes better. Like that?â
âHmmm...â Akko tapped against the back of Dianaâs hand, still entwined with hers, with her index thoughtfully. âYes, but no. Kinda, but not really...? I donât know how to describe what Iâm thinking at the moment based on existing principles. Not too good at remembering. Heck, is there a quote that already exists?â
âWhy not make your own, then?â Diana proposed.
âHeh... good idea. Let me think.â
âTake your time.â Diana enjoyed the little sounds Akko made as she thought.
âOh! I got it!â
âHoh? And what would those words of wisdom be, Miss Kagari?â
âReady the papers, Miss Cavendish. Weâre about to make the headlines with this!â They both giggled at their antics. âDrum roll, please! Dugudugudugudugudugu....dan!â
Diana nuzzled into Akkoâs shoulder, enjoying all these little sound effects, the brunetteâs voice calming her gradually, lulling her to sleep.
âJust what are these magnificent words, dear Akko?â Diana was far too drowsy to notice the splash of color painted across her companions face, the shyness melting into tenderness as she felt her warmth shift closer.
âA believing heart is your magic.â
And sleep was nearly robbed of her, eyes widening in the dark, unseen by Akko as the thumb on Dianaâs free hand now brushed over the engravings on her ring. It was for sure now.
âYou really are... the one.â
//-//-//-//-//
Something was off about Diana today. Was it her hair? No, impeccably styled as always, that couldnât be it. Was it her makeup for today? No, it wasnât that either. It was still that natural looking glow that brought out her innate beauty in all the best ways possible. Â Akko continued to check off boxes on her mental list, trying to figure out just what it was that was bothering her about Dianaâs appearance today. Was it her clothes? But that was the uniform they wore daily! Did she... get any new jewelry? Hmm, she didnât seem the type to wear any at school.
Then...
Was it the ring that painfully reminded Akko that the person she might be in love with was already meant for someone else? No, that couldnât be it either. Last Akko checked, the ring was snugly fitted, definitely on... huh? The ring was... gone? No? Akko scanned Dianaâs smooth looking left hand. No it wasnât there. Not on the left, and her eyes couldnât help but guide her hopeful soul to... ah. It really wasnât on the left, but on the right.
Huh? That wasnât right.
This confused Akko. Enough to make her approach Dianaâs seat during lunch, tapping her attention away from her conversation with Lotte and Barbara.
âH-hey Diana, I have a question... â
âYes?â Said girl gave Akko her full attention. There was something different about the way she smiled at Akko today as well, it seemed. Odd. Nice. But odd.
âSo like... uh... W-Why is your... your ri-â Akko could feel droplets of sweat forming on her brow, threatening to trickled down the side of her face if she so much as twitched.
âRi?â
âWhyâs your ri- r....r-r- Right ear larger than your left?!â
Dainty hands shot up to cover her ears, blushing shocked and mortified. âWHAT?!â
Whoops, Akko messed up. âHAHA AHA.. KIDDING! Nah, I was messing with you!â The brunette forcibly laughed, patting Dianaâs back in uneasy comfort.
âAkko, that wasnât very nice.â Lotte scolded, and the said girl nodded, sighing.
âI know. Sorry guys.â She apologized properly, looking to Diana in particular. She received a gracious smile and a pat on the cheek, the skin underneath the ringed-hand warming speedily.
âItâs alright.â
That kindness allowed her to gather bits of courage to finally state her inquiry. Diana would answer her just fine, right? Akko had to when asked about the whereabouts of her ring. It was fair trade?
âI was just wondering, because I recalled you wearing your ring on your left hand until recently. But now itâs on your right. I guess you could say I was just curious?â
âEh?â
âIs that so, Diana?â Hannah questioned, eyes wide. âBut why would you move it in reverse? Now that youâve actually found- mrrrpmmphhh.â
Akko shot a puzzled glance at Hannah and Barbara, the latter clasping a hand over the gingerâs mouth.
âN-nothing. You didnât hear anything.â She covered. âYou heard nothing, are we clear?â She threatened, and Akko actually shivered.
âHoly crap, your women can get so scary, Amanda.â She mentioned to the redhead seated in front of the other girls.
She heard her release a heavy sigh before getting up from her seat and turning to face the group. âItâs because you two are such a pain, thatâs why. Just get it over with, Cavendish! Whatâs holding you back? Itâs as simple as this, see? When you have a dense mofo like Akko, you just gotta give her a little push. A literal one.â And that was the only warning they got before Diana felt soft, slightly chapped lips barely missing her own, brushing against the corner of her mouth.
Akko removed herself so fast, they all worried sheâd get whiplash. âS-s-s-s-s-sorry! Sorry Diana, I didnât- it was... AMANDA!â
âI was helping.â
âYou little...â
âRather than giving me your attention, shouldnât you talk it over with miss salad head over there?â
Akko blinked, the cogs in her mind slowly spinning, then clicked. âDid you just... insult... ah, screw you!â Akko yelled, blush burning so hot, it was hard to keep her eyes open.
Heeding Amandaâs advice nonetheless, she turned to an equally red Diana, unable to meet her eyes. Akko didnât think her face could get any hotter than it felt right now, but at the sight of Dianaâs tongue quickly swiping across her lips, Akkoâs face might as well be venus.
She should at least try to say something, right? Something comforting... or witty... or clever.
âSorry...â That would work.
âItâs alright.â
//-//-//-//-//
She stared at her invitation. Wow. Did Andrew really take her to shop for Deniseâs birthday gift months before it happened? The neat script spelling out, âYou are cordially invitedâ underneath the older womanâs name with the date of the ball kind of set her nerves on fire.
She was not one for formal events. But then Denise had been nice enough to hand it in person, looking like sheâd be willing to beg for Akko to come. Andrew stood behind her menacingly, a pressuring force looming in the room.
But really, how was she supposed to do this? Sure she had experience with the arts and dancing. She had wanted to be a performer at some point in her life before deciding on her current course, keeping the arts as a hobby. That covered her bases in terms of the ballroom dancing part. But as for etiquette and all that jazz, Akko had no clue. She was just a normal girl, living a normal life, having met amazing people, and... the love of her life.
She groaned in remembrance, pulling out a slip of paper, an extra entrance voucher. âBring a plus oneâ, Denise had said. Well... that wouldnât be a problem, Akko supposed. Maybe... She could always ask Diana.
The thought of the girl set flurries of butterflies wild in her stomach, face warming up along with her heart. She fiddled with the band situated around her left ring finger. She was still getting used to it, the metal feeling awkward in that spot. Thatâs just what she gets for never wearing it all these years. Kind of a nuisance, if she were being honest; but... at the same time... it was a reminder that...
[âSo youâre... my soulmate...â
âLooks like it.â
âDid you... know about it?â She watched fluffy hair bounce along with the bobbing of a shy girlâs head. âHow long...?â
âI had a feeling right from when we met... then confirmed it after you first showed me your planetarium.â
â...thatâs a few weeks back.â
âYouâre just so slow.â
âIâm sorry.â
âItâs alright. It really is now.â]
âAAAAHHHH!!â Akko hollered, ridding herself of the embarrassed tension in her body. âHnnnggghhh...â Holding in all her squeals, she flew onto her bed, hugging a pillow tight and rolling about. Maybe she should call Diana right now, if only to hear her voice. Oh, and she should just pop the question while sheâs at it, the invitation.
A few rings, one, two, three fo-
[âHello?â]
âDid you know I love your voice? It was the first thing I fell in love with, ever since you saved me from the clutches of death.â She couldnât hold back the adoration she felt for the Englishwoman any longer.
[âOh my god, Akko. Did you really just call me so you could be such a sap?â] Â Her giggle was always the best, Akko reveled.
âNo~, or kind of yes, but not entirely.â
[âIs that so?â] Diana teased through the line.
âDonât believe me?â
[âOf course I do! After all... itâs my magic.â]
âWhoâs the sap now.â
[âI learned only from the best.â]
âAmanda?â
[âYOU, you idiot!â] Akko laughed at the reaction, squealing inwardly in delight. Dianaâs laughter alongside hers died down, the phone going silent for a bit. And then, [âYouâre the best.â].
Akko just couldnât handle it.
âI love you.â
[âI love you too, sweetheart.â]
âI love you, I love you, I love you.â
[âI love you more.â]
âI love you! I love you! I love you!â
[âI love you more than anything in this world.â]
Akko was not crying.
âI love you... be my plus one?â
[â...â]
[âAlways.â]
//-//-//-//-//
âMy baby... so grown up now and looking all gorgeous.â Mrs. Kagari wiped a tear from her eye, admiring her daughter in a russet-toned gown, sleeveless, with a low dip in the back, fitting, and at the same time, flowing off her frame and onto the floor. It was simple, yet elegant. It matched well with Akkoâs hair; usual bangs side-swept, signature ponytail gone, her long brown hair slightly curled and hanging off on one shoulder, exposing the other. All this topped with a little make-up, and even Andrew commended this picture of Akko that could pass as part of high society.
âShall we?â He held out an arm for her to take, door open with a car waiting right outside. Akkoâs father sobbed loudly, holding onto his wife for dear life.
âM-Mama! MY BABY! MY BABY IS BEING TAKEN AWAY BY SOME RICH YOUNG BRAT WHO JUST LOOKS GOOD, AND IS A LITTLE SMART, AND OWNS A HOSPITAL.â
âWell, donât those sound like amazing specs.â Akkoâs mama laughed, consoling the poor man. âYou sound like a father sending his daughter off to meet her groom.â
âI AM.â
âBut Diana-chan is so cute, though?â
âMan or woman, whoever takes my baby away from me and ends up hurting her... they will never see the light of the afterlife.â
Diana felt a chill run up her spine as she waited in the car.
âOh, hush you. Youâre overreacting.â
âAM I?!â
âByebye, papa. Iâll be home soon. Love you~ Love you more, Mama!â
âAh- bye, my darling daughter, my baby, my sun, light of my world, my angel!â
âYou can stop embarrassing her now, darling.â
//-//-//-//-//
âAkko, donât be so stiff.â Diana whispered into the girlâs ear, a hand caressing the small of her back to ease away the nerves. âYouâll be fine. Just think of it as any old party.â
âE-e-e-easy for you t-to say. You g-grew up with th-this.â Akko retorted, a hand with some champagne shakily approaching her lips.
âReally, youâre too high-strung.â The blonde sighed, pointing to Akkoâs best friends. âLook at Lotte and Sucy, they look normal.â
Akko glared at her best friends who seemed to be enjoying themselves without a worry in the world. Oh, golly, what a treat. Maybe she shouldnât have offered their extra tickets to them so she wouldnât feel as bitter.
âHey.â A flick was sent to her forehead. âNo mean thoughts.â
âI wasnât-â
âDi.A. NAAAA~â Here came a wild Denise, flying through the air to hug an alarmed Diana, barely catching her. It would appear as thought they were good friends, and Denise, not knowing anything about the relationship between her two dear bosom buddies, had sent them each an invitation with the hopes of bringing a plus one to introduce to her (so she could tease them about it), all the while, being kept in the dark that their plus one just so happened to be each other.
Which also explained the extra tickets that had gone to Lotte and Sucy. Akko was afraid it would be rude to just hand them away, but Diana reassured her it would be just fine. They both knew how kind-hearted and open-minded Denise was anyway.
âM-miss Walsh... please let me breathe.â
âDiana~ Itâs Denise!â
âD-Denise... please... my airways...â
With greetings out of the way (Akko being squeezed to death as well, to be fair), the announcement were made, and the party commenced, music playing as the floor opened for the dances.
...
Akko swore she was a good dancer. Really! She was the ace of their studio. She could dance almost anything after learning it over the course of a few weeks at most, and so few days at the very least. So she couldnât understand just how sheâd suddenly acquired two left feet, constantly, and clumsily stepping on poor Dianaâs feet.
One step. âSorry.â
âItâs alright.â
Another miss. âSorry.â
âItâs alright.â
âS-sorry!â
â...â
âOh my gosh, I really am sorry!â
âI-itâs quite alright...â
â...â
âWanna get some fresh air?â
âPleasured.â

The Walshâs family gardens were certainly award winning, Akko admired. As someone with a hobby in that field, this was a dream come true, to see such stellar workmanship. With flowers oâer the earth, and stars up above, the moon reflecting ripples into a still, small lake just a few yards down, it was the picture of beauty.
Yet nothing could compare to Diana by her side. Akko admired the way the womanâs gown clung to her curves in all the right places, how midnight blue reminded her of the skies they were under, and the dear stars in the heiress eyes sparkled ever brighter. How the earrings that dangled sparkling silver matched Akkoâs own, only in gold, how her hair was fixed to the side as well, a portion of her bangs tucked neatly behind her ear, held back by a pin Akko had gotten her recently.
Akko was transfixed, as though she were under a witchâs spell. A very gorgeous, kind-hearted, hardworking, and sincere witch. A woman she loved with every fiber of her being, with the entirety of her heart.
She watched the moonlight caress ivory skin, glistening under its kind rays. Akko wanted to do so as well. Touch it, and know she was real and not just a figment of her imagination.
âI love you.â She murmured, reaching forward, arms wrapped around a slim waist, lips pressing against a bare shoulder. âI love you.â
Diana hummed, hands resting over Akkoâs latched on to her abdomen. âDance with me, Love.â She beckoned, leading them to sway under the night sky, the crickets and the breeze playing them a song of romance solely for their rapture.
The moon as their only witness, they vowed silent words, moving along the area, spinning, swaying, dancing, laughing, smiling, crying.
Akko never felt as lucky as she did in this moment. She was beyond fortunate. This moment sheâd never forget, a memory never to be destroyed all her life, reminding her that she was blessed.
Blessed, and still a little foolish.
âI still donât get it, you know. Why âcabbageâ?â
Diana laughed into the tranquil night. Slapping Akkoâs bare arm in fondness. âDid you really just ask that? Now of all times? With a romantic mood set up like this?â She shook her head in disbelief. âYou are amazing, Kagari Atsuko. I love you to death, really I do... but are you seriously still hung over that?â She inquired, spinning her fated partner about, bringing her back in close. âDoes it have to make sense? Isnât it enough to know that youâre meant to be mine, and Iâm forever yours?â
Akko returned that tender smile, leaning up to place a kiss against Dianaâs throat. âWell, yeah, I guess; but... like... doesnât that defeat the ringsâ purpose, then?â
âDoes it matter?â
â...It doesnât. Not anymore. Not when youâre by my side, because thatâs all that matters.â
âGreat answer.â
âDiana?â
âHmmm? What is it now?â Diana asked, amused that the peaceful mood didnât look like it would settle back down anytime soon.
âFor ruining the moment.... sorry.â All Akkoâs laughing refuted that statement. Diana knew they both didnât regret it one bit. Not at all. So with a smile only meant for her world nestled in her arms, leaning down and closing the gap bit-by-bit, what else could Diana reply with except,
â...Itâs alright.â
And they saw stars.
//-//-//-//-//
This... was an unexpected development.
â...Wanna come over?â
âIâd love to.â
Cold, soaked and dropped off by the Cavendishâs service car, they made their way up the drive way, Akko fumbling for her house keys in the wee hours of the morning.
âSorry, I really didnât expect it to rain when I invited you out.â
âItâs fine, it wasnât something within our control at all. The night looked perfectly clear, too.â
Flipping on the lights by the threshold, Akko guided Diana in, drenched shoes flying off, but immediately retrieved and set to the side to drip properly. Theyâd have to clean and dry those tomorrow better, but for now, a bath of warmth was in order.
Akko had insisted Diana take one first, but ever the gentlewoman, Diana did not move an inch until she was absolutely certain Akko would be alright. Her strongest argument stood to be, âJust who was it that I had to take to the hospital upon our first encounter.â, and Akko could only pout, begrudgingly accepting her defeat and warming herself a bath, but not without leaving Diana a towel and a temporary change of clothes so she wouldnât get chills.
As Akko tagged Diana with a kiss to the lips, switching places after drawing the girl a fresh warm bath, she made her way to the kitchen, deciding to make them some vegetable soup to warm them up from the inside. Would Diana like that too?
Choosing and gathering her ingredients, she began prepping, chopping up everything as her water in the pot was brought to a boil.
It didnât take her long at all to finish. By the time the food was ready, Diana was back downstairs, clad in one of Akkoâs oversized shirts and pajama bottoms. It did strange things to Akkoâs dear heart. On Dianaâs part, just the sight of her future wife (she was a woman with a vision for tomorrow) preparing her a meal, fresh from a bath, in their own little world... How could she not fall deeper in love? So in love that she could just kiss her!
And she did just that.
Walking up to the shorter girl, Diana coaxed her into warm arms, a hand making its way into brunette strands, entangling them around her fingers, ring shining amidst them. This was bliss. This was everything to her.
This was everything to Akko. Everything sheâd hoped for and wanted, and even more.
âI love you.â
âI love you.â
Soft. A little salty, maybe the soupâs seasoning. Warm and gentle, yet pressured and emotional. Tenderly passionate, and passionately tender, their lips danced a song that theyâd forever remember.
And as they sat down to eat, seated in front of each other, they motioned for cheers with their chopsticks, a leafy green clipped between one pair.
And thatâs when Akko realized that it all made perfect sense.
The rings werenât wrong, and the words would always be right.
âAh...
Cabbage.â
~end.
A/N: Can you believe it? All that, just so I could say in the end, âCabbageâ. Honestly, Akko is so slow. Somehow Iâm not quite satisfied with this, and maybe I shouldâve gone with a different approach or piece, or simply edited my original plan to fit safely within the guidelines, but... Idk. Maybe Iâm as much of a fool as Akko, that way. Was it worth the thousands of bothersome words to read? Haha. Feedback is appreciated, as always. Hope you enjoyed.

Chapter 6 - Part 3, The prophecy
Back at the temple, Rose was not doing well.
She was struggling the entire night, trying to figure out the pain in her after the event. However, she couldnât keep on with the pain while pacing the endless room forever. At some point, she got so tired she decided to try the âmeditationâ exercise from Garnet, âMeditating can help you relax and clear your mind, especially my mind when im a new fusionâ She once said.
Behind the gem, the room decided to show a visual representation of a memory, the problem. It showed a figure on a pink working desk with a giant mirror, a giant bowl of pebbles, along with equipment such as tweezers, containers and a dropper filled with pink fluids.
Behind the gem, the room decided to show a visual representation of a memory, the problem. It showed a figure on a pink working desk with a giant mirror, a giant bowl of pebbles, along with equipment such as tweezers, containers and a dropper filled with pink fluids.
Pink was testing out her essence on the newly arrived pebbles in her experiment chamber, but that day, she was out of her game.
âThese pebbles should be emerging right now! Why isnât this working like how I planned!?â
Before she barged in her chamber and tried to distract herself with work, she was rejected, yet again by Blue and Yellow of getting her own colony. Blue repeated it hundreds of times, âYouâre not ready, you havenât achieved your full diamond powers yet, without that being taken control, you could potentially destroy your own planet without starting the colonization!â
She was filled with more rage than ever! Yellow didnât even blink an eye when she stormed out of the pool chamber, âWeâll let you know when youâre ready.â
âUGHH!â The smallest diamond frustrated and full of built up energy, the yet to emerge pebble was not helping her calm down, she tightened her fist, she stood up from the desk, and BAM! Where the working station was, stood a pile of rubble, with the giant mirror the only thing still intact.
She was surprised, taken aback, she noticed her slight glow from her physical form and her gem, which returned to her normal tone when she finally calmed down. She got down to her knees and speculated the damage in front of her.
The working station was in a state beyond recognition, the tools and essence containers are all in shambles, the pebbles were all scattered about, some chipped while some cracked, with none in good shape.
She was examining the pebbles with little damage, but then she heard something from the pileâŚ
âHelpâŚmeâŚâ A small, newly formed pebble was stuck under the piles of debris, âI canâtâŚget upâŚâ The little thing tried to reach out...
The pebbleâs face was covered in cracks, she was not going to make it.
Pink was mortified, it was very hard to believe, was this all from the new power? Was this all her fault?
How can she love, when the people she loves suffer around her? Â
She composed herself, dried off her tears and sadness, and did what was best for the new gem in pain.
Outside of the chamber, pink pearl was just clearing up the toys lying around, until she heard a thundering crash from her diamondâs workplace at the other side of the wall.
The pearl wasnât keen on entering the experiment chamber of her diamond, but her diamond was taking a comparatively longer time than last time.
She stowed the toys away and knocked on the chamber door.
Knock knock
âYes Pearl?â Her diamond responded from the inside.
âMy diamond, is there something wrong? Youâve been in there for an awfully long time, is there something I can do for you?â
ââŚ.â
âWhy yes pearl, there is. I need you to bring me one of my rare sapphires, there is something I need to consultâŚâ
âOf course, right away my diamond!â Pinkpearl scurried off the room and went in
Realizing her destructive powers are getting out of hand, She asked Coral to invite a competent sapphire and leave them be.
The pink sapphire entered the room in a little dress with various heart designs, her gem located at the side of her dress.
âSapphire, I am concerned with a certain...force of destruction in the upcoming future, can you tell me anything about it?
The pink sapphire spoke to her diamond, âMy diamond, I foresee something that is not in your liking. If the destructive force you spoke of is not tamed, someone you cherish, someone close to you, someone dear to you, will endure eons of pain and suffering for the rest of their gem life, and it will never be healed.â
Pink diamond made a small but unrecognizable âgulpâ sound, but she kept her composure.
âAnything else you can tell me? Maybe anâŚalternative toâŚprevent that specific outcome?â Pink questioned nervously, gritting her teeth, trying her best not to speak from her mind.
âI can try...my diamond, but my ability of predicting another outcome comes inâŚa different form.â The sapphire tried to look further into the future, and she found something, but what was spoken out of her mouth was not to her diamondâs liking.
âTo lessen the pain of the one you hold dear,
Another must endure, it must be a peer,
Instead of one in sole pain and agony,
One shall hurt, but it will be an irony.â
Pink diamond was not pleased, she opened her mouth and tried to say something, but for a while she was speechless, moments passed and she was able to blurt out, âWhatâŚwhat was that?â
The sapphire slightly gritted her teeth, as if she was embarrassed of her extra special ability. âApologies My diamond, but that is the only way to showcase glimpses of another outcome, you would have to decipher it, and come to your own conclusion.â
Sighh, âVery well, thank you sapphire, that will be all.â
The sapphire left the room, back to her duties.
Pink diamond became nervous after what the gem said, she thanked the gem and dismissed. After some thinking, and some anxiety, she realized the gem that would be hurt forever would be her own pearl!
âNononono, IâŚI canât risk losing her! She's the closest gem I have as a friend! I canâtâŚâ
As she covered her face with her hands, she went through the poem one more time.
âWait, it must be a peer?
She turns her attention to the edge of the working desk, a little diamond shaped pink box with three ribbons in white, yellow and blue wrapped around it. She gently lifts the box, and sighs, âIf it can help me save pearl from eternal damnation, Iâll do it.â
Pink brings the box outside of the experiment chamber, and was met with her pearl.
The small gem salutes her diamond, âMy diamond, is everything alright?â
Pink went to the centre of the room, placing the box in the midst.
She opens a gift from the other diamonds, they thought having another pearl might help her organizing her stuff, she wasnât keen on opening it, until nowâŚ
The ribbons were unwrapped, the box was opened, and out comes a glowing shell with a pearl levitating from the box, âPlease identify yourself.â The voice was rather different than pinkpearl.
âPink diamond.â Pink stated while pearl observed from the other end.
âGreetings Pink diamond, please refer customization options.â The gem announced.
Pink was trying to not shove the gem back into the back, regretting her choice of opening the box in front of pearl, she also didnât want her to think the new gem was replacing her. Moments passed by, and she didnât say anything.
âDefault setting selected, please stand by.â The gem floated with grace, rising to higher altitudes and glowed into a form of a pearl figure. Multi Color palettes were the design for the default setting, so when she walked off the platform, she was the only figure not entirely pink.
Pink reached her hand out to pinkpearl and said, âPearl, come meet the new pearl from the other diamonds.â
âOhh, a new friend! Hi! Iâm pearl! Whatâs your name?â
âGreetings pearl, I am Pearl.â The multicolour pearl politely greeted, but it left Pink confused in how to differentiate the two.
It took her a moment, but she quickly came up with a solution.
âYou know pearl, since sheâs also called Pearl, why donât we give you a nickname? You know, so it wonât be confusing.â Pink suggested to pinkpearl.
âWhy of course! Another nickname! What will it be?â pearl said excitedly.
âYep, and this time, it's gonna be different! How aboutâŚCoral?â
âI love it!â To be fair, pearl would have loved any name she was given, so she never thought of it once whatever Pink suggested.
For once, Pink was able to sigh without the need to worry about something else, everything was going well as the two pearls stood within her sight, facing one another, smiling bigger than the other.
The view glitched, and everything turned different, Pearl and Coral, pointing weapons at each other instead of the first smiling version
The images paused and dissipated all around the room. At the last moment, Rose gasped, lying sideways and waking up from her deep slumber.
The last image she saw, imprinted on her mind, bothered her even more.
âI⌠I need to find them and set things straight before anything terrible happens!â
She got up, rushed out from her room and immediately ran into the future seeing fusion, Garnet.
âOh! Garnet! Hurry! I need to know where Coral and Pearl are, do you see them anywhere?â Rose unintentionally demanded while shaking the fusion by the shoulders.
After the intense shaking, Garnet pointed to the warp pad and said, âPearl said if anyone needs her, she would be at the sky arena with Coral, they should still be there.â
âOhok good, Iâll just, go check up on them, hopefully nothingâs going on. HahaâŚhaâŚâ and immediately rushed to the warp pad,
SHiinningggg

Hiii ok pt4 of Greece and yesss to everything you wrote.
Replying to brigids thoughts real quick
-firstly we are in MYKONOS!! Itâs vv beautiful.
-so Jamie apparently only likes to sleep on Brigid and we are here for it!. Like security line, the chairs at the gate, on the plane. Ryan getting lost at the airport is soo funny I can even see myself laughing at him. But anyways we both get beeped and patted down as usual and we chirp each other like crazy while everyoneâs just trying to get through security in peace.
- Jamie is the ultimate bf for Brigid. And Dylanâs your guy best friend just like Ryan and Braden ? Are to me :) question : what does it mean Lexi is busy with Quinner? Hehe. Anyways we are all rocking these sweatshirts that the boys gave us.
-omg I just find this interaction between cozzy and Jamie so funny. Like cozzy comfy but is slightly terrified and also sees this as a money making technique sooo he gained $50. Ok these rows are fun. Lol Kesh and Kirby just sitting away from us.
Brigid+Jamie + dyl: aw yes brigid is being a good besty to dyl. No sore neck for you dyl. Ughhh I canât with this cuteness. Jamie cuddling you and you playing with his hair and tracing his freckles. Also slight makeout sesh between Jamie and Brigid. Hehe yes jamie was able to finally braid your hair correctly while youâre playing poker w dyl.
Kesh +Kirby: hehe yes they pretend to not know us on the plane and are just being adorable on the plane. Like they get along so well.
Lexi+quinner (+Ryan): I am astonished by Quinners ability not to stay awake from drinking that much coffee but Iâm not complaining cuz I get to play with his amazing hair. Hehe you telling us âguys stfu Jamie and the others are sleepingâ and we say âso what?â we decided to be considerate and not wake up everyone. Oo yes to the freckle kissing lol I need some moments.
- yes to the food. Aww Jamie pointing stuff out to you and both of you just smiling at each other. Ya we ainât waiting, we get up real fast. Iâd probably slap Ryan awake hehe. Nah everyoneâs to cool to clap when the plane lands. I agree it pisses me off as well. Look at us getting curly/wavy hair. Jamie would be admiring your hair:)) I love that feeling.
- everyoneâs in a great mood. The hotel is superb. Okk yes to sharing the rooms with our bbs. I better not be hearing anything through the wall Brigid đ. Yess to us looking hot in our suits and Jamie getting jealous and mad that somebody catcalled Brigid. Side note: I would probably buy new swimsuits for this trip +cover ups. Jamie loves to carry you so youâre just enjoying him carrying you into the water. Kesh and kirbs are just being the most amazing couple ever. Itâs just so balanced. Hehe me and Quinner are vv chaotic and are tackle each other in. If itâs a competition between the four of us. Yes to the moments in the water. Like holding onto their necks and just moving along with the waves and the hair slicked back and the suns reflection. Ooo I wanna join volleyball too but Ryan would probably hit me in the face. I get ready pretty fast as well so twinsies. Yes to us looking real good in our outfits and then having more moments on the beach( making out or just being romantic and walking along the shore.)
Okkkkk next
Morning after everybody just decided to sleep in cuz we are on vacation!!. Anyways breakfast. I heard that in Greece itâs common to rent out Vespas and just ride along the path and you can go cliff diving. And just explore the scenery cuz the Mykonos have a lot of beaches etc.
So we all get ready to head cliff diving and then to a new beach later. Ok so Brigid is w Jamie, Iâm with Quinner, and kirbs is w kesh. The rest of the boys are sharing together as well. Hehe itâs so pretty and we are just holding onto our boys or maybe itâs the other way around. And itâs just so beautiful but really hot so everybody is ready to cool off. We get to the cliff and the water is sooo blue đ. Hehe we all strip from our clothes and into are suits and the boys are looking hot. Anyways, since brigid is the daredevil of the group she wants to go first and then dyl steps up as well but Jamieâs semi terrified but wants to jump as well. So he says fuck it and jumps! Iâd probably jump after with Quinner and Ryan and then the rest of the team. We all just have a bunch of fun and then we gotta figure out how to get out of the water lol.
Okkk i was also thinking about snorkelling/scuba diving.
Letâs say next day, we decide to rent out a boat and go snorkelling/scuba diving. Everybodyâs really stoked because itâs really beautiful. Iâm more of a snorkelling type of gal.
Side note: I went snorkelling in Mexico once and while snorkelling I see two barracuda sharks staring at me so ofc I got scarred and swam away so quickly lol. My best friend was just laughing at me.
Anyways some decide to go scuba diving and are in their suits hehe. What would you do brigid. Actually if I think about it more I might try scuba . Like imagine going w Jamie and Quinner and just swimming and holding each others hands.
It was vv fun to be on the yacht and just chilling . Dylan brings his guitar and just plays us some music. I also turn on some mamma Mia hits because Iâm feeling it hehe. Kesh and Kirby are just cuddled up at the front of the boat and you and Jamie are just soaking up the sun. Same w me and Quinner. Gotta make sure they are wearing sunscreen.
Okkk after snorkelling/scuba diving. We all get dressed in cute summer outfits and go to dinner but then we all decide to go explore a bit of the Mykonos night life so we are just laughing and waking around Mykonos. We take some real cute photos and the boys just hold our hands etc. Some cute under the moon light kisses. Ughh to cuteeeeeeee. And then we return to the hotel room đđ
Okkk hope you enjoy pt5 will be us exploring the city!
hehe ok i love all of this, but itâs longgggggggggg
ok yes mykonos is gorgeous, if anyone doesnât know what it looks like i highly suggest you go look it up
hehe yes i love my bb jamie sleeping on me. he can do it whenever he wants idc bc i loveeeee him. also bc he looks adorable when heâs sleeping and i can trace his freckles so thereâs that. i just feel like we would be elite sleeping buddies, like i usually donât sleep that much but i would if i could cuddle with jamie
lmao ryan getting lost in the airport is so funny to me, like we would all be chirping him tbh, bc weâve been walking for like maybe 2 min, how did he get lost already? but eventually he finds us, and ofc both he and lexi get beeped and are chirping each other all the way through security lmao
omg yesssss i love jamie, literally the perfect bf 𼰠and then dyl and i are just chaotic best friends like lexi with ryan and braden
ummmmmm ok so when i said lexi is busy with quinner i just meant like going to get coffee and stuff, idk what you were thinking. we are in a public place so it canât be getting too spicy lmaooo
yesss we are rocking the boysâ hoodies. they look better on us then them lol
lmao yesss cozzy being slightly terrified of jamie bc even tho jamie is the softest boi ever he can still be scary when he gets mad lol. also he wants the $50. and then kesh and kirby want nothing to do with us bc itâs too early in the morning lmao
me+jamie+dyl - hehe yes got to make sure my bestie dyl doesnât get a sore neck so we can be in peak competitive performance later lol. but then also me and jamie being soft 𼺠playing with each otherâs hair and chasing his freckles, i love that. also obvi it would somehow end up with the two of us making out a little bit lol
kesh+kirby - hehe yep just the two of them being adorable and pretending not to know us, love that
lexi+quinner(+ryan) - hehe yes i think weâre all amazed by quinner still falling asleep after drinking sm coffee tbh. but itâs ok bc then you get to play with his hair and just be cute 𼺠and freckle kissing!! but then also you and ryan being loud but finally shutting up once i yell at you lmao
omg yesss, jamie just pointing stuff out to me out the window while weâre landing, i love that. and then we get up reallll quick and grab our stuff and get off right away. lmaoooo you just slap ryan to wake him up. then our hair is getting all nice from the climate and our boys are admiring it :)
hehe yes we have a really nice hotel, and weâre all sharing rooms with our bbs. wow ok lexi, dirty-minded much? jk, jamie and iâll try to be quiet at night lmaoooooo
hehe ofc we all look hot in our swimsuits, and jamie just goes off when someone tries to catcall me. ooooh we could all go shopping together to get new suits for the trip, that would be so fun!!
anwaysss then jamie carries me to the water even tho iâm like i can walk lol, he just wants to carry me so iâm not complaining. and then kesh and kirby just being a cute unchaotic couple bc someone has to be the parents of the friend group lmao. hehe then quinner and lexi being chaotic as usual and tackling each other in, and then me and jamie join lmao
oooooh yes the moments in the water are 𼾠like everyone looks hotter in the water with their hair slicked back and stuff sooo. and just wrapping your legs around their waist and holding onto the back of their necks....
haha yes i want to join volleyball too, i used to play so i can destroy lol. haha i can def see ryan accidentally hitting you in the face, but itâs ok bc we win bc weâre on the same time and weâre like the dynamic duo
hehe yes twinsies getting ready fast! omg yessss weâd look so cute in our outfits and we could just do a cute walk on the beach during sunset, but then also have more moments ofc
okkkk next part
hehe yes we all sleep in the morning bc jet lag and also idk, maybe some of us had eventful nightsđ. but then we all get breakfast together. side note: i loveeee hotel breakfast bc we only eat healthy food at home and i can eat whatever tf i want at hotels lol. oooh yes then after breakfast we can rent out vespas and just go exploring and then we could go explore the beaches
oooh yes ok now itâs time to go cliff diving, and the water is sooooo blue. so then we all get ready and we strip down to our suits, and then iâm like sprinting to the edge to jump and dyl is right behind me bc weâre the daredevils of the group obvi. but then i see jamie coming and i can tell that heâs semi-terrified so i grab his hand and pull him in with me. and then you and ryan are behind us and you get quinner to come with you guys too and then everyone else follows behind. and then weâre just chilling down in the water and having fun. oooh we could play marco polo, i fucking love that game bc i can dominate lmao. anyways eventually we wanna get out and weâre like shit how do we get out bc we donât see a way back up. and then weâre blaming kirby and kesh bc theyâre supposed to be the responsible ones lmao. so then eventually dyl and i have to rock climb back up and grab all the stuff and carry it around to a part where we find a beach and meet you guys there lol
ooooh yes i love snorkeling!! iâve never been scuba diving but i wanna try. so anywayssss the next day we rent out a boat to go snorkeling and scubaing and everyoneâs super excited obviously. i would honestly want to do both, so i would do like half and half. and for both of them i can swim with jamie and hold his hand𼺠iâd probably be pulling him along a bit lol. and then quinner and lexi and kesh and kirby holding hands too𼺠haha also i love your snorkeling story thatâs so funny lmaooo. the one time i went snorkeling in hawaii i was swimming literally right next to dolphins and sea turtles and it was so cool, but i was struggling a bit with the snorkel bc i was only like 8 and didnât know how to use it lol. but iâve used them at swim camp since then and i can actually use them now so thatâs good
hehe yeah so then also just being on the yacht is fun when weâre not in the water. ooooh or we could get a catamaran those are really fun too! and then dyl can play us music on his guitar bc apparently heâs good at that too, like is there nothing this boy is bad at? anywayssss yes you can also play mama mia, i love that soundtrack itâs amazing. and then weâre all just chilling with our boys and trying to soak up the sun without getting burnt lol. and we try to get them to wear sunscreen but they still donât want to even after what happened last time, so aloe vera it isđ
so then in the evening weâre off the yacht and we get dressed up cute again so we can go to dinner. and we can find a cute local restaurant to go to and then after we just go and explore mykonos. ooooh and we can see the nightlife and according to my friend its really easy to get drinks there so thatâs fun lol. but we could also take superrrrr cute pics and stuff around mykonos to spice up our instas. awwwww and hand holding and kisses under the moon𼺠and then itâs back to the hotel for the nightđđ jamie and i will try not to be too loud lol
ok overall i love all of this, and iâm superrrr excited for the next part!!

DCOM Rankings #92: Teen Beach Movie
This received a lot of hype when it came out, though not nearly as much as camp rock or HSM. But it tried to be the next big DCOM Sumer musical. And from my knowledge I think it was pretty popular, again, just not as much as previous musical movies.
Still, I remember a high school friend saying that she was obsessed with the movie, and even though I didnât watch Disney channel anymore, it still intrigued me. So I was curious to watch it for this ranking. My thoughts are as follows:....
The first half was good, the second half fell flat.
Ok review is over!!
No I kid.
So letâs talk about the overall story and themes. You got a girl with a dead mom (of course) who wants her to fullfill her dreams and be successful, but never really specifies beyond that. From a young age, Mack carried that journal with her as her one true reminder of her mom, and got it in her head that she needed to be successful like her aunt that raised her, as if thatâs what her mom meant. Over the course of the movie, she figures out that she likes being on the beach and surfing, and wants to stay where she knows she belongs. And she realized that was probably what her mom really meant.
I love the concept of a girl thinking that she needs to be something her whole life, because her dead mom said so. I think itâs so powerful how kids can just attach to that as if it will still make them closer together. And take those words to heart. That to me is great (thematically, not actually) and the way itâs portrayed at the beginning of the movie is pretty solid, with its own DCOM cringiness. She was willing to leave the town she loved to âbecome successfulâ like what her mom wanted, and if she didnât fullfill that, itâs like sheâs severed her last connection with her.
I WISH THIS WAS SHOWN/SAID IN THE MOVIE A FUCK TON MORE!!!
Idk I feel like we should have gotten more context in the beginning, I felt like we were kinda thrown into the movie world a little too early. Maybe not, idk. Now Iâm second guessing myself. I guess I just wish Mack explained this more to Brady to make him understand why she needs to leave their beach town. Because throughout the movie she kept saying she needs to leave because âshe has toâ and thatâs pretty much it. She could have said âcuz this is what my mom wanted and I want to make her proud of meâ OOF, right in the feels. Maybe she can say âhas toâ near the end when she isnât sure anymore and is tired of explaining it. Maybe itâs me just not being attached to any of the characters that much that I need them to be more motivated.
But letâs move onto something else, the movie and movie world. So itâs based loosely on west side story. Now I donât know that much about west side story, and I know that I need to edumacate myself, but i think the overall theme is there, right? Two different groups of people, two people from those groups fall in love and start a gang war. But I donât know any of the specifics other than that. But yeah this movie within a movie is supposed to be set in the early 60âs, and there are times when it kinda looks like it, and there are times when you donât believe it at alll...I think mostly because beaches look the same regardless of time period but yeah. The editing for this DCOM is not very good, and you know theyâve been trying to add more visual effects over the years and 2013 was still in the early stages of that for TV, so Iâm not going to be too critical of it, but itâs mostly how the characters dress and talk doesnât seem very 60âs a lot of the time. But hey what do I know? I wasnât alive in the 60âs.
I do NOT like the weather machine side plot though. I thought that was really really stupid. But I do understand that there needed to be a common enemy for the two groups to work together to fight, but mad scientists and a weather machine is the best they could come up with??? They were in the movie for like 5 minutes total I would say. They have 0 motivation, they are only used to get the two groups to get along, and they are used as an excuse for the storm. Thatâs it. The villains are just devices and not actual characters. Like I donât need a sob story for a villain to get behind them, just someone at least interesting...I mean, I know the movie within the movie is supposed to be really cheesy and dumb, but you can still have interesting characters.
I do however like the way that Mack and Brady call out some of the bull crap thatâs in these movies sometimes, like how they suddenly know whatâs going to happen next even though they couldnât have known, in order for the movie to move forward. Itâs so meta haha I like it a lot. At least the writers have some idea of whatâs up.
The characters. I did mention it a bit earlier. Mack is probably my favorite (again, itâs not like sheâs my favorite character ever, like by any means). And the main biker girl I forget her name. She is really cute and her mannerisms and looks are perfect for the time period I think. The boy characters kinda suck. I mean Brady has a point that he didnât realize Mack was even leaving until the night before she was supposed to leave. Like,I feel like thatâs something you should mention when you meet someone you wanna date??? âOh by the way I have to leave in a year for school so Iâm not going to be here longâ like was it that effing hard to say???
Sorry off topic. Brady just loves surfing and having fun on the beach, and thatâs about it. Oh and he loves this movie a lot so when they get trapped in it he already knows the context. So thatâs basically it. Mack is pretty much the only real character in the entire DCOM and everyone else is just used as a prop to get her where she needs to go. BUT it doesnât mean I hate all the rest of the characters, in fact I find pretty much all of them to be entertaining, except for the villains who are really useless.
Letâs talk about the aunt and the grandpa for a second. So they made a deal that mack would stay with her grandpa for her first two years of high school, and then she would go with her aunt to this new school for her last two years. Alright, cool. I thought grandpa would have more of a presence in the movie, or talk more to Mack about....well anything. But I guess not? He just stands there and watches Mack get swallowed by the wave and seems to be told to act sad. Sorry my mind is all over the place. Anyway, Mack says at the end of the movie that she wants to stay where she is and the aunt is like okay, even though her character was all stiff and huffy and uptight. Like youâre not even gonna put up a little fight??? Things donât go this well in real life, I hope kids know this.
Okay ranting over lol. The songs were pretty good, not the absolute best Iâve ever heard but theyâre good, just not catchy enough I guess. Itâs just trying too hard to be HSM but itâs fine I guess. At this point nothing can top the HSM songs, so I wonât knock off too many points for that. I really do like the twist in the middle where Mack and Brady mess up the movie, but it basically ends up not mattering later (something Iâm also mad about) but for a while I was like ooooooooo spicy! And I also like how Mack gave the biker girl advise about boys and standing up for yourself and doing things because you want to, not cuz someone else told you to, which directly applies to her own life. Clever stuff man.
Alright time for an overall grade. I gave this one a straight B because even though I did rant about this movie a lot, I felt weird giving it a C. There is slightly more going for it than against it. Itâs still a fun summer movie, and itâs not meant to be taken too seriously, just like camp rock 2. And thatâs alright in my book! I just wish this one put more heart and meaning to it, but it was definitely itself entertaining with some classic DCOM cheesy and cringey elements.
One last thing I forgot to mention: I guess they donât allow lip kissing anymore (Iâm sure I mentioned this before) all the main character couples do is hold hands and hug and stare into each otherâs eyes. Like who the eff made that decision that all kissing was banned? (Cheek kisses are still a thing but wtf) Iâm just ugh did parents complain or something? Is kissing seriously too gross for Disney channel, even if itâs just a peck? What the poop?? Ughh second rant over.
So the next DCOM looks like a snowboarding movie which is like the complete opposite of this movie about surfing, just thought that was funny! Iâm going to challenge myself and see if I can get the rest of these movies done by September 1st, but at the rate Iâm going now, I doubt it...but weâll just have to see. Wish me luck lol

ASK AND YA SHALL RECIEVE
Keep in mind I was about 12-13-ish when I wrote it and I was in my angsty stage so this gets a bit dark pft
here are the first 2 chapters -there are like 9 in total I think- if ya want the fnaf one then tell me bc I actually have to translate it and everything bc I wrote it in Spanish lolÂ
.

.
TW mentions of abuse sorta and alcoholism
"Come back here you lil' shit!!!"
"I'll kill ya, I swear to God I'll kill ya!!!"
I could hear him behind me, stumbling and crashing into things, with that stupid glass bottle in his hand.
I have to keep going or he will really kill me. I kept running zig-zagging through the trees trying to lose him.
"You little fuck!!! How dare you run away from me after all I've done for you?! I was the one that gave you a roof under your head, the one that fed you and took care of you and THIS is how you repay me?!"
Yea right. I'd rather be in the streets than have to live with you in that damned house again. C'mon (Y/N) you're almost there!!
"I'll do the same thing I did with them to you!! You'll end up like all those kids, like all those dirty bastards!"
CRASH!
A flash of lightning crashed behind me.
Keep going, keep going.
Suddenly, as I keep climbing up I see something.
A cave.
Yes!! Now I can finally get rid of him! I quickly started climbing, finally getting into the cave. It was really chilly, but it would at least protect me from the rain, and since it was nighttime and he was drunk he'd have no chance of finding me.
Or that's what I thought.
"Ahh, there you are my dear (Y/N)~ You are quite slippery you know? You remind me so much of her, my little Frisk. But you both had to escape from me didn't ya. Do you know what happened to Frisk dear?"
He chuckled and came closer, while I was walking backward trying not to stumble.
"I killed her." He smiled. " It was an accident, I didn't want to, but she was being a naughty little girl~ [EW WTF WHY DID I WRITE IT LIKE THAT LMFAO GREAT WAY TO MAKE HIM CREEPY AF AMANDA]" he came closer, and the smell of booze reached my nose.
"G-get away from me you creep!"
He laughed and pushed me, making me stumble and fall down. I tried to crawl away but then he started kicking me.
IM ALSO NOT PUTTING THIS PART BC IT WAS CROSSING THE LINE A BIT AND I WANTED TO MAKE IT DARK ANYWAY THE THING IS THIS SHIT ESCALATED REALLY QUICKLY AND I GASPED BC HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS WITH ME
Basically, he said more creepy shit bc I wanted to make him a huge asshole, but I still don't feel comfortable putting it and I'm sure for other ppl its uncomfortable too so uh, lets just say the guy was just really really bad and wanted to do really bad things to uhh, the readerÂ
This, this guy had the nerve to- ugh!!
"S-stop it"
He quickly grabbed me by my hair and brought my face closer so we were locking eyes.
"Y'know no one cares about you! You're nothing! But if you stay with me you'll see I can be a good guy! I promise I Â will treat you better! I will do anything for you. You just have to be a good girl and stay in your room."
"No!!"
I quickly spit on him and kicked him in the stomach. I was not going back there, not going to suffer through all that again. I got to my feet and ran deeper and deeper into the cave
"You can't escape (Y/N)~" I heard from behind me.
I ran faster. I'm not going to let him win. I'm not.
" You'll just end up like Frisk!"
Crash!!!
I yelped and tripped on a vine, falling into a hole, hearing his echoed taunts getting farther and farther away.
Is this it?
Is this how I die?
Will I really end up like Frisk?
No.
I won't die. I can't die. Not today.
Those were my last thoughts before I was surrounded by darkness.
Chapter 2 [this one is more fun I lol]
"You little bitch!"
"Come back here!"
"You'll end up just like Frisk"
"I promise we'll get out of here....
Frisk"
I woke up with a start. My head dizzy from the fall.
Where...am I? Who's Frisk? Why can't I remember anything...? Hold on, did I loose my memory? What the-
"Heck!!" I heard someone say behind me. I quickly turned around, and saw a kid who looked to be around my age, floating a few feet away from me. Their hair was up to their shoulders and they were wearing shorts with a cute green stripped sweater.
"Seriously?! And just when I get used to being dead?! Do you hate me that much world!?" The kid yelled while waving their fist at the top of the cave.
Huh.....
Wait.....
Dead?
Am I dead?
If so where the heck am I?
Is this what the afterlife is like? Being stuck with a 10 year old ghost kid? Is it because of that one time I stole a ring pop from John? Because if it is he totally deserved it, he wasn't even gonna eat it!
"Am I really dead..?" I whispered.
Suddenly the ghost kid turned around and looked at me.
"Wat?" They asked.
"Am...am I dead?" I looked at my palms trying to figure out what was going on.
The kid sighed.
"No. You're not dead you dummy, you just fell down into the Underground, and somehow that awoke me...huh... that's weird."
Oh. So I'm not dead. That's nice I guess.
"Um, wait, the Underground?" I stood up, and stretched a bit, trying to check if everything was alright.
"Yea. With monsters and stuff. You just fell down from Mt.Ebott. You'd be the second human here to fall down."
Wait. The second one? I thought six more had disappeared in here a while ago.
"You mean the seventh human." I corrected them.
"Noooo, I mean the SECOND human, jeez are you deaf or something?"
They glared at me as if I was the dumbest person they had ever met.
"Nuh-uh. If there's one thing I remember is that 6 humans had fallen before me"
"Well then you remembered wrong because last time I checked I was the only one. That fall must've really damaged your brain" they chuckled.
I rolled my eyes. They really were stubborn and they were pretty rude too! If it were up to me I would've walked away by now but since I am down here somewhere I don't know with MONSTERS, I should really have an ally and they seem to be my only hope. Maybe they're nice once you get to know them, so I should really try to befriend them.
"So uh, ghost kid...what's your name?" I looked at them with a sweet smile, trying to be friendly.
"My name is Chara. And I was the first human to fall down here. What's yours?"
"My what"
"Your name, you idiot. Don't tell me you forgot that too." They smirked.
"Pshh I didn't forget my name!" I puffed my cheeks and looked the other way. I honestly had no idea what my name was but I wasn't going to let that ghost kid treat me like a dumbass again.
"Fine then, what is it?"
Shoot.
"U-um i-its uh..."
Let's seeeeee... what's a good name? Oh jeez what are some good names I could use right now?
As I was panicking suddenly something came to my mind.
"Frisk." I said.
I have no idea who Frisk is, but it felt just right. And it was the first thing that popped into my mind so.
"Oh. That's a peculiar name. But we'll then, Frisk. What are you going to do? Do you want to go back to the surface?" They eyed me with curiosity. I honestly had no idea what I would do. But I just had this urge to go back to the surface. But there was nothing up in there for me was there? I mean maybe I had a family or something's that's looking for me right now. Or maybe I could just be a homeless nobody.
"Do you promise me we'll get out of here?" "Yes. And we'll go and look at the stars in a field of golden flowers, like the ones in your book. It's a promise."
"I want to go back up."
That seemed to get Chara's attention.
"R-really? You want to go back up there? With those assholes?" They scoffed.
"Yep. I just feel as if I have something important to do over there. Like a promise."
"Ah...well, if you want I can show you the way! We can go meet these monsters, they took care of me while I was in here! They could help you!" They smiled and started going ahead of me.
"Uhm, sure, I guess! That'd be cool!" I said as I started walking behind them. If I manage to get those monsters' help, I'll be out of here and try to get my memory back and fulfill my promise.
CRINGY I KNOW BUT WERE GETTING TO THE PICKUP LINES AND THOSE ARE HILARIOUS IN A BAD WAY LMAO MAYBE I CAN LATER POST THE OTHER CHAPTERS PFT
Chapter 3Â
"So uh..Chara..will these people have food?" I asked while walking behind them.
"Food?" "Yup" "You're stuck in a place full of monsters and all you can think of is food?"
Before I could answer though, my stomach let out a loud growl. I giggled.
"I guess that answers your question."
We became quiet again until Chara turned around and looked at me.
"So how old are you?" "I'm about to be twelve" "You're pretty mature for a twelve year old" they scoffed. "Well you're pretty immature to be whatever age you are." Chara laughed.
"I'm thirteen. So that basically means you have to do everything I say since I'm the older one" they stuck their tounge out.
"That's not fair!" I proclaimed. "The world isn't fair." The smirked. "Your face isn't fair"
"Damn, Frisk, you got me" they said with mockery.
"Shut up"
They laughed and then looked at me with a serious expression. "No but really, if you want to survive here you'll have to listen to me or else you'll die. And if you abuse the SAVE point it'll stop working. If you loose determination too."
"Woah. Wait what? A save point? Determination? I am really confused right now"
"Ugh, I'll explain later. Right now we have to get to the RUINS."
"Is that were you lived when you were stuck down here?"
"Tch, why do you care? And I wasn't stuck. I lived here because it's the only place were murder isn't the first option and monsters aren't assholes."
"Hey, stop being so rude, I just want to find out more about you! I really want us to have a good relationship if you're stuck with me for a while!"
"Just mind your own business."
"Ughh you're so-"
I suddenly stopped walking when I saw a single gold flower in the middle of the path.
"Why'd you sto- ohh that's creepy."
"It's just a flower. It won't do anything."
I kneeled down to look at the flower better, for some reason this flower looked different than all the other ones.. I was about to reach out for it when all of a sudden the flower turned around and smiled at me.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!"
What. The.
This flower could talk?! What?!
"Oooook Frisk this is definitely creepy, don't touch it and walk away."
I ignored Chara and smiled at the flower. They seemed friendly, so why not?
"Hey there! I'm, um, Frisk. I'm new around here."
Flowey noded and smiled at me.
"Oh! So since you're new you probably don't know how the Underground works! I guess lil' old me will have to teach you! Ready?"
"Frisk I'm not really getting good vibes from this guy." Chara said again, this time a little bit more serious.
"Shhh" I stood up and looked at Flowey, nodding.
"Thank you Flowey!! You're really nice! So how does this all wo-?" Suddenly I was being surrounded by darkness, with Flowey standing in front of me.
"Where is-" I suddenly stopped talking when I saw a red...heart? In front of me.
"See that red heart over there?" Flowey asked me.
I nodded.
"That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!"
"Woahh, that's so cool!"
"Your soul starts off weak, but it can get stronger if you gain a lot of LV."
Suddenly Chara appeared beside me and shook their head.
"Frisk I don't think he-"
"Frisk! You may be asking: Flowey, what does LV stand for? Well, for LOVE of course!!"
Oh. I guess in here is not that bad if their policy is like the place where the Carebears live.
"Fris-"
"You want some LOVE don't ya? Well don't worry! I'll share some with you."
After he said that a few white pettals appeared in front of Flowey. I guess that's how you get some LV right?
"Frisk, I'm serious right now, do not touch the bullets."
I looked at Chara.
"Thanks but what bu-"
"DOWN HERE" Flowey yelled to get my attention. I turned to look at him with a nervous smile, he just rolled his eyes and kept talking.
"LOVE, is shared through some....little...white... friendliness pellets!"
Ok. Now that was definitely suspicious. And where those the bullets Chara was talking about before? Jeez this guy really got me, but I mean. He's a flower why in the world would he kill me?
"Are you ready Frisk?! Catch as many as you can!" Then, the...white friendliness pellets, started moving towards me. How in the world was he doing that?! This place is so weird, filled with talking flowers and dead kids suddenly becoming alive again. I just want to go home!
"Frisk!! Watch out!!" Chara yelled beside me.
"What?"
I looked at Flowey and saw the pellets getting closer to me. Before I had the time to dodge they got me and I felt a huge amount of pain. I fell to the ground on my knees, gasping for air, trying to make it go away.
What was happening?! I quickly looked behind me when I noticed that the yellow bar that was once full, was suddenly empty. It said 1/20.
Chara rolled her eyes.
"You dummy! Those were bullets! And to even top it off you have literally one hp left!"
"One hp...? Wait Chara what is goin-"
"You idiot." I heard a creepy voice say behind me.
I slowly turned my head around, looking at Flowey, with my eyes widening.
"F-Flowey?"
"In this world, it's killed or be killed!"
"Wha-what?"
"Why would ANYONE pass up an opportunity like this?"
"Chara!" I yelled trying to get up, but a couple of bullets appeared beside me and surrounded me, trapping me where I was.
"DIE. " I heard Flowey yell, while the bullets started closing in on me.
Maybe I could dodge them? Or find a way to escape? Where was Chara and why weren't they helping me?
I heard Floweys's laughter get louder and louder while the bullets got closer and I shut my eyes.
I guess this is the end now. I will really die. Did I seriously think I would survive in this Underground world? Really? They're monsters for God's sake! Of course I would die here. And I wouldn't be able to fill my promise. My eyes started tearing up. I could feel the bullets really close now, about to touch me when-
All of a sudden, a fireball hit Flowey in the face, making him disappear with the bullets. Chara appeared beside me.
"Phew! That was close! At least she got here in time! I told you he wasn't a good person Frisk! If you want to survive here you'll have to do exactly what I tell you to do, or else you'll die." They nagged me.
I tried standing up once again, trying to see who saved me.
"What a horrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth." Came a sweet voice from above me. I felt their hands go in my back and a weird warm feeling surrounded me.
When the warm feeling was gone, I didn't feel pain anymore. That was weird. I finally managed to stand up, and looked at the lady who saved me.
She's a.....goat? Lady? Monster?
She had a really pretty purple tunic, with a weird white symbol in the chest area.
She smiled at me and waved her hand.
"Ah do not be afraid my child. I am TORIEL, caretaker or the RUINS. I pass down here everyday to see if any humans have fallen down."
I looked at Chara, who looked to be about to cry. Maybe this was the monster they were talking about before? The ones that took care of them probably?
I shook my head and smiled at Toriel. She did look like she had good intentions, and yes, they did save me from that wretched flower. But I wasn't going to be dumb enough to fall into the same trap again, so this time I had to be cautious.
Toriel smiled back, and turned around, grabbing my hand.
"Come, my child, I will guide you through the catacombs!"
And with that, she grabbed my hand and walked with me, leading the way.

iâm just gonna dump all the shit i rambled about to shan last night. to give you an idea of what my leon portrayal is like âtil i... make a proper about section on the google doc lmao
in my hc leon is desiâhis family on both sides are from india (or whatever pkmn's equivalent is; copperajah is said in its dex entry it's from a far away region). his mom's parents were immigrants and his father's family had been in galar for a while. he's not too tied to his culture due to having a bit of a gap between him and his family since he became champion but he is fluent in hindi thanks to his grandparents wanting him to learn it when he was small.
during the game he's around⌠twenty-one? it says on his league card that he started his journey at ten, so i'd assume he became champion at ten as well. the game says heâs an adult, and also says hop remembers leon telling him heâd become champion so leon would have to be eighteen at the Least since hop is still a kid (around like fifteen imo). ANYWAYYYY heâs still pretty young!
when he was six and hop was still a few months old their father died from illness and it shook him pretty hard because he was attached to his dad, more so than his mom, and thatâs such a young age to lose a parent and he never really knew how to cope with it.
the thing is though was he was forced to grow up too fast. his dad dying when he was young, he felt like he had to fill his role as hop was growing up (sonia did say leon âpractically raisedâ hop). but going on a journey at ten and becoming champion at ten kinda tore him away from his family and⌠well. he had his childhood stolen from him. at ten he had already started questioning his gender identity but hadnât come out yet, so his sense of identity being skewed while forced into the position of champion and becoming this icon and role model when he was still so young.
they called him a prodigy, becoming champion so young and on his first try, and everyone who had watched him during the league challenge had already noted he was insanely skilled as a trainer, not losing to a single trainer once. leaving his friends sonia and raihan in the dust, basically, and taking them both down in the champion cup. and then rose started saying he could be a hero â because galar needed a hero in the years to come, he could be like the old heroes of galar leon always heard stories about (and leon had excitedly asked him if he could wear a cape, since he was going to be a hero now!), and what ten-year-old wouldnât love to hear that? the chairman himself acting like the father he had years ago, but there was something different in his eyes that leon was too young to notice.
i should mention, at ten he basically becomes his familyâs main breadwinner.
at twelve he figures out his Gender Stuff and confides in his friends and hop (who excitedly calls him his big brother immediately) and at thirteen he comes out publicly and not long after manages to convince rose to help pay for his name change (and rose had agreed, of course, but his smile didnât really reach his eyesâleon was too starstruck to notice, or care). rose also helped him with changing his image a bit, pulling any merchandise, commercials, ads, etc with his face on them and replacing them with new things more suited to who he really was now. at that point something in his relationship with rose shifted, but he was too young to notice thenâwhen he looks back on it now, in hindsight, it gives him a foul taste on his tongue.
at sixteen he gets permission to start hormone therapy, and at seventeen he gets top surgery. sonia and raihan are there for him the entire time and leon had already started noticing he had some Big Feelings towards raihan even before this (maybe since they first met as kids, even). raihan always laughing with him, teasing him, holding his hand to lead him places whenever he got lost. raihan sitting at his bedside post-surgery showing him funny videos on his phone while he was stoned from painkillers⌠but leon staring at raihanâs face more than at the phone screen⌠basically, this boy is GAY.
once the eternatus stuff happens⌠this is basically what rose was grooming him for to begin with. to be the one to defeat and catch eternatus and âsaveâ galar. to be the âheroâ rose always told him he could be. but being a hero doesnât sound so appealing anymore when itâs been drilled into you for over a decade until you donât have a real grasp on your identity outside of hero, outside of champion (who is he now, really?). itâs not so appealing when youâre standing in front of a three-thousand-year-old, sixty-five-foot-tall monstrosity oozing venom who brings back galarâs darkest day. and then it beats you, leaves you crumbled against the ground as two children, one being your brother, brings it down and saves the day.
(he wasnât the hero this time, and he has mixed feelings about that.)
he wakes up in a hospital bed with a searing pain along his ribs, like heâs being burned, like his skin is coming off and he cries from the pain the moment he wakes up and then the memories come rushing back, everything that happened to put him here. and he cries more. and when the nurses come in to give him medicine and change his bandages he still cries and falls unconscious again. when he wakes up again sonia is there, and then raihan is there, and raihan holds his hand and smiles at him. tells him that he may be the champ, but he shouldnât force himself out onto the pitch just yet if heâs hurting. but leon being leon goes out there three days later.
and he loses.
(people say itâs leonâs first lost in 11 years, but eternatus was truly his first loss.)
his title of champion taken from him, and he doesnât know who he is anymore even though he has so many people in his life that love him. so many fans that love him whether heâs champion or not. he strikes one more pose in the pitch despite the searing pain in his body and grins even if there are tears stinging at his eyes.
ughh im rambling anyway leon figures out who he is outside of being champion eventually but itâs a Process. but⌠he gets there! slowly but surely. and he learns how to be happy. starts the battle tower, takes the role as chairman when rose is carted off to jail. has more time to be⌠himself. in the league cards it even says he seems livelier in the battle tower⌠anyway, i love him,

Stray kids Zombie Apocalypse au: How the reader meets the boys
English is in bold
It was mid September, 2024 when you found them.
Seungmin was replacing Hyunjin on an emergency supply trip in the next town over with Changbin
They walked into what one would assume to be a grocery store
They were loud and frantic, looking for their required items; both practically shouting to eachother as they looked through separate aisles
Until Seungmin stopped replying
When Changbin noticed and went to check on him, he was greeted with an awful sight
Your knife on Seungmin's neck
Changbin slowly reached for his bat but before he could touch it, a different knife flew past his head
He watched as you whispered something in the younger boy's ear and turned your eyes back to him
"Hyung," Seungmin said, voice barely above a whisper, "Don't freak out but she says to quietly walk over here. Now."
Changbin didn't move from his spot, debating on whether he could take her in a fight alone if she did kill Seungmin
After 5 seconds, the girl whispered in Seungmin's ear again
"Don't try to fight back.. please."
Changbin slowly walked over to the two of them and once he was about 3 feet away, the girl whispered into Seungmin's ear once more
"Hyung, drop the bat. She said she won't hurt us."
Changbin fake laughed, "Yeah, not hurt us my ass. She has a knife to your neck."
"Just do what she said."
Changbin grabbed his bat, raised it up horizontally so she could see it, and dropped it.
The girl turned her head the the left and watched as a zombie shuffled down the aisle right next to them
She removed the knife from Seungmin's throat and started pulling him quickly down the aisle with Changbin following close behind
As they were sneaking around the zombie, Changbin was able to get a good look at the girl.
She wore a thick, military style jumpsuit with a black top underneath. The pants of her knee and the toe of her boots were covered in thin sheet of metal that looked very worn out. Around her waist was a gun holder with one in it, a fanny pack like pouch, and two knife holders.
Her left shoulder had a U.S. flag embroidered into it
The girl took them to the front left corner of the store and placed a finger over her mouth.
"Stay here. Make no noise."
The girl makes he way down the middle of the store and grabs a can off the shelf next to her. She examines the can then shrugs her shoulders.
"..Yeet."
The zombie shuffled towards the sound the can of beans produced and looked up to see the girl across the store.
Said girl tightened her grip on the knife and ran down the aisle, dropping down and sliding once she got close enough
She slid through the zombie's legs and once behind it, stood and jabbed the knife into the back of its neck.
A sigh of relief could be heard from her as she removed the blade from the permanently dead body.
She began checking all the aisle and once done called out to the two men.
"The coast is clear."
Changbin was the first to move from his spot and run towards where he had dropped his bat.
Seungmin, however, stood still as he watched the girl return to where she left them, hands covered in the blood of the zombie
"Thank you, I think."
The girl rolled her shoulder and continued walking towards him.
"The Guardian Angels, huh?" She said, pointing to the patch on his jacket, "How long have y'all been out here?"
Seungmin had to think about it, briefly placing his hand over the patch, then trailing his hand down his arm.
"Uhh, I think a little over two years now. What abo-"
"That's a stupid question. Take a good look at her. She's in the military. She's probably been out here for a good year and a half at most," Changbin huffed from behind her.
"Wow," the girl chuckled, "Right on the money. I'm Corporal L/N but that title means nothing out here soo you can just call me Y/N."
Changbin walked over to where Seungmin was standing and stuck out his hand.
"I'm Changbin and he's Seungmin. I'd say it's nice to meet you but you did have a knife to his neck."
"A Corporal? Woah.." Seungmin's Mouth in an O shape, "Wait, do you know how to treat bullet wounds?"
Y/N, taken back by the question, just nodded her head
Seungmin turned towards Changbin, "Hyung, we should take her back to camp. She could help Minho-hyung."
"Minho?" She looked in between the two of them, "Who's that?"
"He's our medic," Changbin, who looks like he just figured out the meaning of life, pointed at her, "And you could help save his life. Can you come with us?"
Y/N stood there thinking for a second, "Okay. I have 3 questions. Where is the wound? How long ago did he get shot? Is he conscious?"
Changbin answered, "In his right leg, about 3 hours ago, and no. He passed out soon after getting shot. We've stopped his bleeding but he was the only one who knew what to do next."
"Okay, we gotta leave now. We'll have to stop at my base first though. I need to grab something important."
Changbin nodded his head and the two of them started to leave the store before Y/N stopped them
"Wait, I also need to grab the proper supplies for the job," she turned and started walking towards the medicine section of the store, "And I'm assuming you two didn't come in here for nothing."
"Oh,, right. Actually we came here to get some stuff to help him," Seungmin chuckled.
After Y/N grabbed everything that she needed, the three of them headed to her base.
Her place was in an abandoned apartment building just down the road so it didn't take long
When she came back down from her makeshift home, all she had was a backpack with a lock connected the two zippers on the main pouch of the bag
Changbin questioned her about it to which she replied with "It's really none of your business, is it?"
He dropped it and soon they were heading to where the boys' camp was
After a good hour, they began approaching what Seungmin called 'Jisung's last defense'
The two boys guided Y/N around all the traps and homemade explosions Jisung had laid
Half way through the explosion zone, an arrow flew past Y/N's head and a faint "Ughh, Seungmin-hyung is a much better shot with this than I am." could be heard
Seungmin looked towards where the arrow came from, "Jeongin! It's okay, she's here to help Minho-hyung!"
Queue an "oh shit." from Jeongin.
Changbin turned and grabbed the arrow that was fired and continued walking towards a campsite, hidden in the bushes.
Following him, Y/N took a look at her new surroundings.
3 other boys could be seen on the ground around a fire pit, 1 other, who Y/N assumed to be Jeongin, was up in a tree, and another was standing outside of a tent-like structure.
Jeongin jumped out of the tree he was positioned in and ran to Seungmin, "Is she really here to help?"
Y/N answered for him, "Of course. Where's the injured?"
The guy by the tent called out to her, gesturing into the tent.
Y/N made her way into the tent to be greeted with 2 boys next to each other; one laying on a bed of leaves and one running his hand through the other's hair
She placed the bag of medical supplies next to the unconscious boy and began to inspect his wound
The other boy watched as she removed the dirty bandage from the first one's leg, grabbing her wrist when the unconscious boy showed discomfort.
"Jisung, let her go. She's just trying to help. No matter what, it's gonna hurt him. You should know that."
Y/N turned to see two boys; the boy who was standing outside the tent and another with freckles lacing his face
Freckle boy walked over to Jisung and grabbed his arm, "Come on, let's give her some space."
The one who stood by the door moved and kneeled down next to Y/N.
"Can I help with anything?"
Y/N nodded her head an pulled so rubbing alcohol out of her bag, "Hold him down."
After she was done with his leg, Y/N stood up and exited the tent
Once she did, she saw Jisung, surrounded by 4 other guys, crying outside of another tent
She approached the crowd cleared her throat
All 5 boys looked up at her
"Umm, I removed the bullet and closed the wound. Luckily, the bullet didn't hit anything too important. It'll take a while but he'll be able to walk again once it completely heals."
The 4 surrounding Jisung sighed with relief while Jisung just cried harder
One of the boys stood up, "I really can't thank you enough. It means a lot to us." He smiled and stuck his hand out, "The name's Woojin."
She took his hand and shook it, "Y/N."
Woojin turned and started pointing to different boys
"The boy crying is Jisung but I think you already knew that," Woojin gave her an awkward toothy grin before continuing, "The one next to him with the freckles and deep voice is Felix, the boy who shot the arrow at you earlier is Jeongin, and the one with the mole under his eye is Hyunjin."
Y/N waved at the boys and did that white person smile (you know the one i'm talking about)
"Who's the one in the tent with Minho?"
"That's chan," Changbin said from behind her, "Simply put, he's our leader."
Jeongin got up from Jisung's side and walked over to Y/N
"So, tell us about yourself."
I know this has a sudden end but it'll make sense as the story goes on.

My thoughts on the novelization of the Kim Possible movie! Minor spoilers.
Okay, so I caved and bought a digital copy of the live action Kim Possible movie novelization and, uh... I have some thoughts. Continue reading for some general information and my opinion on the overall vibe. Nothing toooo spoiler-y or deep. Well, I get deep with my analysis... but Iâm not analyzing anything too big. Just minor things and lines that arenât important to the storyline but can give you a pretty good idea of what the movie will be like. There are no details that I would consider major or huge plot points in this post. If youâve seen all of the trailers/sneak peeks and are familiar with the filmâs summary, you should be alright. Basically, keep reading if you want to know what to mentally prepare yourself for lol.
Right off the bat, all Iâm gonna say is that judging from the dialogue alone -- itâs definitely geared towards kids. Young kids. I donât think teenagers will think this is cool. Just as I feared, thereâs cheesy use of social media (selfies, live-streaming, youtube) and annoying 2010s slang (âshookâ âfamâ âkthanksbye,â etc.) I donât understand why they feel the need to throw in stuff like that to make it ~current~??? It just makes it feel awkward and trying too hard to be relatable. I think keeping it relatively timeless and omitting slang and selfies wouldâve been the better option for a live action adaptation of something as iconic as Kim Possible. Thereâs already enough technology with her freaking holographic Kimmunicator and gadgets! haha. Itâs 2019. We all know that smartphones are a thing. Theyâre normalized now. You donât need to shove it in our face, haha. I mean, Kim said some dated slang in the cartoon and flip phones were prominent... but itâs a cartoon. It works. With live action, it gets a little dicey. You want these characters to feel like people who talk like real people, ya know?!
Something that made me cringe beyond belief is the first scene at Bueno Nacho. Athena named her dog âRon Stop-pit-bullâ (I kid you not) so Ron says something about wanting to be a freaking dog when he grows up??? So Athena and Ron literally proceed to woof like dogs and break into laughter about it......??? I have no idea how thatâs not gonna be cringeworthy on screen. I wanted to die just from reading it. Some people assumed this photo from J-14 magazine was behind the scenes, but it does in fact happen in the movie:Â
One thing that sorta rubbed me the wrong way is that they talk about Kim and Ron being famous heroes on the news and everything a liiiiittle too much. Athena being a superfan of Kim and Ron kinda goes along with that and could potentially feel a little overkill. The morons who think that Kim had a secret identity are gonna have a field day with that lol. Ugh.
The holographic Kimmunicator is a really cool update for this generation since the original one was essentially a smartphone with FaceTime and wouldnât be nearly has forward thinking as it was in 2002. Towards the end of the KP series it was updated to a wristwatch, among a few other different designs (but a wristwatch also wouldnât be forward thinking today thanks to Apple Watches) and now itâs a necklace. I like that!Â
The only issue is that itâs not very discreet. Wade pops up a lot throughout the movie and as we saw in the sneak peek, the hologram is pretty huge. I hope the size can vary or something? Because that could be weird when Wade beeps Kim at school and stuff. It was handy when cartoon Kim could casually whip out the handheld, open her locker and talk to Wade on the computer, or glance at her wrist. Not sure how this is gonna fly in other situations:
Also, this sneak peek makes more sense in context. I figured it would. People are seriously overreacting. They portray Kim as a perfectionist and she desperately wants to be on time for her first day of high school. Itâs not âWHY is Kim using her gadgets and Wadeâs help for an every day situation?!?! UGHHâ like people are complaining about. It makes sense to me. Itâs cute! That barrel roll is still completely unnecessary though, hahahahaha. But, Iâm embracing the random stunts like that. I think itâs hysterical.Â
I know a lot of people (myself included) were upset about Kim not being a cheerleader, but she actually is! Or at least, she was...? And is still interested in cheer at the beginning of the movie. So thatâs nice! Kim being a cheerleader was necessary on the show because it helped us make sense of all her flips and kicks and such during missions. Itâs a really important part of her character so I was sooo happy to see that it wasnât completely erased!
I still want to be surprised by the movie, so I just skimmed it and skipped a lot of pages. But yeaaaah. Thatâs the general gist of it. I feel like Iâve read enough to know that I should keep my expectations lower than I originally planned. This doesnât mean the movie is going to be terrible or anything. The junior novelizations usually leave out a lot of things (the book felt extremely short? Granted, I skipped a lot.. but yeah) and the whole story is written in a way thatâs cheesy and simple for little kids to read. Like, Iâm not gonna lie. I was pretty much cringing non-stop. I have a junior novelization of The Even Stevens Movie and itâs cringy as HECK. They even changed some of the dialogue for whatever reason! But the movie isnât nearly as cringy and is clearly a campy self-aware flick once you watch it. Iâm hoping KP will be the same way.
I canât help but worry that itâll translate to screen as suuuuper lame though. Letâs hope the actors can pull it off convincingly. I want to love Ron (I stand by my word that Sean Giambrone is the perfect choice) but heâs seeming a little too dumb at points, overly kid friendly and hunky dory! Like a literal human cartoon. He trips over his shoelaces and falls victim to other clichĂŠs like that. Some of the lines he has are... oh boy. [i.e. *sees a giant statue of a brain* âWOW! I didnât know brains were so big! How do they fit in our heads?!â -- An actual Ron Stoppable quote.] In a cartoon, a line like that works. But live action? Ehhh. It all depends on Seanâs delivery though, and I have faith in him but... dang, he has some awkward dialogue to work with.
Iâm a huge fan of The Goldbergs, so Ron is the main thing Iâm excited about if Iâm being totally honest. I will say, the first two chapters are the only parts I read fully (since they were the free sample) and I liked it. Itâs action packed and fun. Weâve actually seen a lot of it in the trailers already so if you wanna read it, it doesnât spoil too much at all. Ronâs grand entrance is cute and wacky and I actually smiled really hard while reading and picturing it. :)
Iâm not a big fan of how Rufus is introduced. They made a major change and it kinda genuinely upset me. But, I will say.. they at least give us an explanation for why Rufus is so smart and aware. Thatâs kinda cool, since in a 2d cartoon you donât need to question why a naked mole rat can talk and point and help Kim and Ron lol. Iâm horrified of how the CGI will look in action though. From the one photo weâve seen, he looks kinda terrifying imo:Â
Iâve said before that instead of attempting to go for a ~realistic~ feel, they mightâve been better off keeping 2d animated Rufus and having a vibe similar to Space Jam lol. I mean, Kim Possible is a cartoon that makes no logical since in real life so I donât think that wouldâve hurt. Or maybe Iâm just sad because 2d Rufus is sooo adorable. Iâm gonna miss him so much.Â
EDIT: Theyâve officially released some footage of Rufus in action and he looks waaaaaay better than I expected! Yay!
As everyone has predicted, from the few parts I read.. Drakken and Shego seem awesome and on point! Pretty funny as well. I donât have any complaints about them. Rest assured, Shego delivers her sarcastic remarks a ton. I actually laughed out loud at one of them omg. From what weâve seen, Todd is doing a fantastic Drakken and Taylor has great deadpan delivery. I have a feeling they might steal the show tbh!
So, yeah. Make of this what you will!
Iâm still really excited for the movie, but Iâm relieved to have my expectations in check now.Â

ummmwine replied to your post âzenkaiankoku replied to your post âi find it really interesting how...â
oh totally to all of that though, like, yeah i think ppl either smooth him over WAY too much &/or make him like, more stable than evan which is like??? they have Different Problems actually but connor is definitely the least okay / least okay to be around of all of them...but it's also like...clearly just as Off to interpret him as somebody who just acts out completely at random and is just Intensely Angry ALL THE TIIIME instead of yeah, him having this actual internal
OK im replying under the cut because this will be long but tl;dr YOURE RIGHT
process behind the stuff he does which like, from an outside perspective would clearly be unjustified or over the top or irrational etc etc etc...and tbh like interpreting him as like, slow to warm up to ppl and quick to draw back thx to paranoia or potentially actually sort of latching on to ppl too fast but it can also go sour rl quick All Thanks To Splitting is valid af and like!! we don't know cuz canon doesn't say anything about that kind of thing re him. liiiike
i think the difference between having a relationship w someone with something like depression and anxiety and with someone who has a disorder like bpd is that w/ depression and anxiety you can almost always take a step back. its not going to be the case that everything you do impacts them and that their response to your actions is going to be a public thing.. bpd for me at least is very loud. it takes up all the space it can possibly find, so every interaction Means something and every response you have to those interactions needs to serve some kind of a function and it needs to be Known. its why at least for me i tend to suffer more when i have close relationships with people, because youre constantly having that sort of connection. like im not saying its always a bad thing because the good times are! so good! but everything is horrible and intense All the time so it never feels like youre doing something wrong when youre acting out. its more like why DOESNT this matter to everyone else the way it should.Â
the splitting thing just makes so much sense to me because i used to be the kind of person who would say like , really awful things to my family as a result of it. i dont ever want people to think im justifying what connor supposedly did but i think there Should be an explanation beyond hes just âa bad personâ or Vaguely troubled. there is a genuine attempt to reach out to evan, however minor, and i think that its way more compelling to treat him as someone who Does crave genuine connection w people and is just unable to approach it in a healthy way than anything else
i don't think that reference to that particular incident with zoe is meant to be like "there's a specific canon answer to what issue made connor act like this" but like i can so see that being more of legit paranoia fueling that problem somehow and just...like hghh again out of all the senior kids he'd definitely have the most work to do before he'd be able to have a good relationship either in terms of on his own end or re the other person's end of it...like obviously
there's the violence which is like. number one Got To Get Rid Of That Asap mostly for other ppl's sakes but then like. figuring out how to deal w the underlying crap would be more for his sake. like god that all of them were in therapy but also connor's problems definitely seem intense enough that he could probably stand to look into being medicated instead of having to self medicate cuz i figure that's what he's trying to do even if its kind of backfiring sometimes...
definitely definitely.. i could say a lot about why i think having connor and evan (or jared i suppose but i havent thought about that so much) bonding initially and then it going downhill because of a lack of an actual understanding of each otherâs issues (and then both learning and coping separately IN ORDER to build an actual relationship with each other) is more interesting and genuine feeling than them Immediately helping each other and it actually working. but it would be long..Â
they all need to See Someone. + obviously medication is never the be-all end-all of any kind of mh treatment but for me personally therapy was never useful UNTIL i was on medication that actually helped regulate my moods first. the sort of things they talked about were never feasible for me because my moods dropped SO fast and because just being told to do things was so infuriating.. and so on. i definitely agree w the self-medication part i usually see that as connor trying to deal as best he can w something that no one else seems to understand or struggle with. sometimes it seems like the best way of coping w things is to try and detach urself from it . obviously that isnt healthy at all but when u dont know how else to deal w ur problems u find your own solutions :(
ANYWAYS the point is that like. first of all projecting shit Is Valid And Who Cares Anyways but in this case its probably also more accurate than what ppl write when they have no experience with such intense and unmanageable things and stuff that you really can't quite imagine accurately unless you know it firsthand already. and godddddd a trope i cannot stand is like, the 'i just need one good relationship and that will fix things / inspire me to choose to be able to
handle this and voila! i am handling it" like!!! i LOVE good relationships being mutually helpful and with this cast it's easy to see how they'd clash cuz they all do in canon!! but it's also ughh so easy to see how they could all understand and help each other even tho their specific problems are different when u zoom in enough. and like it's cool as hell if a relationship helps you / motivates you but it's not gonna fix everything and it shouldn't!! and like yeah with
connor i really see his shit as being involved in / close to the clinical psychotic types of issues. which yknow, people REALLY don't tend to know how to write if they don't have lived experience or really do a lot of good research anyways. like badly written anxiety is still probably gonna be closer to the mark than badly written delusions or smthing, idk. but anyways i am going ON AND ON and the point is. bpd connor is valid as fuck and i love that perspective on him
YEAH i think when i was younger i fell into that kind of writing as a sad sort of wish-fulfilment thing because it makes sense to want things to be that way. but its not helpful to people who relate to those characters, or realistic/healthy to want that sort of solution because it just doesnt exist
i think with personality disorders especially its hard because to a certain extent its like... it inhabits you. i was SO worried that once i started being able to deal w my mental health issues i would stop being a real person because like. it informed Everything in terms of how i approached the world. its hard to write something like that but like.. it all makes sense in your head. you have your own internal justification for everything even if you never reason it out and even if you couldnt possibly explain it in words you KNOW youre feeling this way for a reason and youre justified and should be feeling this way. its weird stuff
ANYWAY ty for this i LOVE talking about this kind of thing and literally everything youve said is so good and real.. connor is important to me even if he has barely any characterisation in canon lol
#ummmwine#jury.txt#response#long post#SORRY this got so long also. no need to reply BTW i just love the excuse to talk about this stuff

Uh Oh Iâm in trouble part two
pairing: Avengers x platonic!oc and eventual Peter Parker x oc
summery: a girl is bored with life at the moment, so what happens when her boredom leads her to meet, and deeply annoy, the worlds mightiest heroes. The Avengers
warnings: swearing , maybe some spelling mistakes
A/N This part is decent  and peter doesn't come into this until like chapter 4 but btw i do take requests, feel free to send them in
part oneÂ
âGood morning Mr stark, how was your walk?â Â A robotic yet human voice awoke me from my ego trance when I arrived at stark towers, also known as the avengers facility. You see Tony wasnât one for hiding things, meaning it was really easy to waltz into the towers and get a shock from JARVIS.
âit was good, some child got in my way and kept asking for an autograph. Other than that it was great.â I replied in the same low snarky voice as my stark. It wasnât like I had a choice. My cells had mutated so everything about me was tony stark. âcan you tell me where the other Avengers are.â
I was impatient and needed to get this plan going. With my calculations I only had half an hour left until tony woke up and arrived at the tower.
âAt the moment all of them are in the living room having breakfast. Would you like me to inform them of your arrival?â Â JARVIS being the smol bean that h is gave me all the information that needed to have my fun.
A smirk crossed my face for a brief second. I knew this was going to give me a lifetime of fun.
âNo, itâs okay Jarvis Iâll just go surprise them.â You see in my year on the streets there was not much to do, so there may have been a few times that I hacked stark tech and I may or may not have found out the blueprints to the complex. Iâve said it before and Iâll say it till it sinks in, the avengers are idiots.
It didnât take me long to make it to the living room and it didnât take me long to put my plan into action.
âGood morning people who donât pay to live here but still end up eating all my food.â I announce in such an arrogant way I want to puke.
âwe save the world, I think we deserve it.â Whoa looks like Mr Hawkeye is an unexpected snarker. Turning myself to look at his relaxed figure on the coach with the one and only black widow/Natasha on the other.
âNo need to be like thatâ I approach him and throw myself onto the empty space next to him. I sit like I own the room, which I technically do (ooooo all the things I would do if I only had time)
âMove it stark.â He reacts like a pro and pushes me away from him, I donât care I already got what I wanted from him. Time for my next victim.
âNat are you going to let him talk to me like that.â A pout is prominent on my face as I go to hug her. The hug only lasts a split second before I am pushed away and given a harsh smack.
âGuess that answers my question. Also no fair nat, you know I like it rough.â Ughh I the all these replies. I know that tony stark is a douche and I have to act like him but come on, I hate saying this stuff. It could hurt peopleâs feelings.
Nat, luckily for me, only sends me the middle finger and I send myself on my way to the next conquest. Mr Thor.
âSup point break, howâs earth treating you.â Donât question how I found out his nickname, just know that I was really bored and found stuff that not even bleach can fix.
âMisguard is great, food is great but that nickname that you have given me is still terrible.â Thor smiles like a puppy as I slap his back with laughter. He is such a puppy; I hated having to do what I did.
I waltz my way around the room as I place myself behind my next victim. Mr stars and stripes himself.
âSup capsicle. Watched any new films lately.â I give him a hug and boii let me just say stars and stripes is the fittest and comfiest ball of muscle around.
Steve Rogers being Steve rogers just gives me a light shove and a laugh, saying ânot yet, by the way Bruce and fury are waiting for you in the lab.â
âNo one thought to tell me this as I walked in.â This was the perfect opportunity to avoid more conversation so, as I leave the room I set my plan into action. âNo one even bothered to say morning even though I said it to you.â Iâm throwing my arms up in the air like Iâm at an AC/DC concert as I am quickly approaching the door. âI pay for all of this food an..â
I am proud to say that my rant lasted a solid ten minuets. The only reason is stopped was because I had entered the lab and the feeling in that lab was not one of humour.
âSup Big green and pirate detective. What a surprise to see you two here.â I approach them both and walk around them, pretending Iâm making a long journey to face them.
âStark this is no time for jokes what you discovered last ni..â fury tries to speak to me but my time had run out and I had already accomplished what I came for.
âSorry fury I would love to stay and chat but I got to unload a huge dump. So hold that thought.â I walk calmly out of the lab not even attempting to listen to furyâs shouts of fury (ayyyy get it) and not even thinking to look back at his winking rage face.
The moments the doors close Iâm running to the elevator, you know Starks private one. It doesnât take me long to go inside and it doesnât take me long to transform myself into a random women in a shield uniform. The moment the doors open Iâm walking out toward the front door.
I couldnât help but laugh as once I had left the building I smelt and saw a trash covered stark supporting the angriest face I had ever seen. I would have felt like I was walking on clouds however I couldnât; my pockets were too heavy with the weight of six wallets and two watches.
