a multi-muse survey
tagged by @weryourlegacy @sinceatwistoffaith @curveofthe-earth
name of your favorite muse: Michaela Hayes (Lea Michele) will always be the closest to my heart. I have been playing her for 10 years through so many different rps. I just never get sick of playing her story out and I determined to until she gets a happy ending.
name of your very first muse: Logan Dugray (Chad Michael Murray) I kind of started with a few honestly on the same day but he was the one that I felt I had a real grasp on. He was a sweet guy that really wasn’t prepared for how harsh the world was.
name of your meanest muse: Carson Porter (Seb Stan). He can be charming and fun but past catching him at a party he is just cruel. He’ll say anything to get a reaction or make himself feel above others.
name of your nicest muse: Roxanne Woodruff (Shantel VanSanten) She is genuine in every interaction. Completely empathetic and naive to a lot of things or people. She just always wants to leave someone feeling better than when they first started talking.
name of your most troubled muse: Atticus Hirt (Barry Sloane). He has a very dark beginning that he had no part in but has haunted him his whole life. A child born from rape, he has carried a guilt that he doesn’t deserve but uses his work to try and fix. His heart really does care about people but he can only show that with his job and refuses to get the mental health help that he needs. He fixates on things he can’t solve until it consumes him.
character you have the most muse for atm: I always have the most muse for Rae Thorne (Lucy Hale) and Flynn O’Malley (Grant Gustin) just because they are just so the opposite of me. Both bold in their own way and basically have the talents that I want haha. I feel like their complications are very much real, but don’t necessarily stem from something big and tragic, well at least Rae’s. They don’t always see their selfishness in what they do. Every choice they make is pretty much the opposite of what comes natural to me so it’s just fun to play that out.
two of your muses that would never get along: Alex March (Rachel Bilson) and everyone? Haha. No I would definitely say her and Billy Danes Jr. (Michael B. Jordan) they both have a lot of untapped anger inside them but they handle interactions so much alike that they would just bud heads way too often that conversation would barely be capable of happening.
two of your muses that could be best friends: Hope Donovan (Tamera Mowry-Housley) and Cobie Brigance (Hilarie Burton). Would just be a lot of eating, gossiping, and karaoke nights.
two of your muses that would make a cute couple: Noah Carter (John Krasinski) and Michaela Hayes (Lea Michele). They’d make such a sweet little family. And she’d finally have that love and security that she always wanted, and he would have the warm close family he never had.
two of your muses that are most similar: Cooper Wheatley (Jared Padalecki) and Bradley Jordan (KJ Apa). They both were much more mature before most guys their ages due to the things they went through that forced them to grow up faster than they should of had to. Both the quiet strong type. Both had to let go of their dream and settle for something else.
name of the muse you’d be best friends with irl: Dani Bradford (Olivia Wilde). It would be nothing but sarcasm, country music, and sports. Though I’d love to hang with James Leahly (Shenae Grimes) cause she is just a goof and cheerful, and loves movies and walks.
name of the muse you’d probably hate irl: Gosh so many... Sterling Welles (Evan Roderick) comes to mind first. He is so entitled and aware of it but basks in it more than anything. And Landon Keats (Jesse Williams) while he has his reasons he’s just a grump all the time and doesn’t hold back his pessimistic views.
a faceclaim you’ve been eager to use: There are like 80 new ones every week, so currently I have been really wanting to use... Keith Powers, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, and Matthew Goode. Then I just have all the old muses I want to use again.
Everyone has basically been tagged that I interact with so I’ve got no one.

I had the wildest dream last night.
I was on Tumblr, and a post linked to a short film. In the film, Jensen and J*red played themselves, and they had to take part in a figure skating competition (where everyone wore flannel and jeans, or, in Jensen's case, a straight-up cowboy outfit). Jared went first and landed an unexpected quadruple, and then Jensen had to win while still sticking to his planned programs for the sake of the event (one of the programs included dragging a person in a weird-ass mascot suit all around the ice).
At the end of the competition, Misha showed up, and he and Jensen left with their arms around each other. Dream Logic™ informed me that even though this is all I remember seeing, things had happened in this last bit of the movie that made Cockles very strongly implied or even downright canon in it.
The credits roll, and the movie turns out to be produced by Jensen's aunt, who appears at the top of the credits as "Jensen's Gay Aunt".
With my brain half-melted by the existence of this thing, I click back to the Tumblr post and I start typing in my reblog: "No fucking way Jensen's aunt would let J*red land a quadruple in her movie now!"
And then I woke up.
Unparalleled dreamscape experience.

I guess I can take Kneeling Rainbow Captain and Brilliant Sterling Silver advancing. But I'm still a) very sad over Pride Squad Germany being out, and b) very impressed by the power of the Group of Death Curse.

I feel like I may have received a divine coming out announcement magically disguised as a Tumblr ad
Tumblr media
(I. D.: a screenshot of a Tumblr ad; the top line above the picture reads "Sponsored by Gay Odin". The picture depicts an assortment of sweets with "GAY-ODIN" prominently written in capital letters on a wafer. Below the picture is the text "GAY-ODIN - La migliore cioccolata per soddisfare ogni tua esigenza. Vieni a trovarci per scoprire...". Translated from Italian, the text means "GAY-ODIN - The best chocolate for your every need. Come see us to discover...". The text is cut off by the ad structure and the ad ends with the URL for the page GAY-ODIN.IT)

The Ugly Side of SPN Fan
Okay I've written and deleted this post several times lately but I saw that I'm not alone out there so I decided to post it.
Why is it that the trolls of the SPN fandom are the loudest fans? Yes we all have our favorite actor...yes we all have our favorite ship but seriously why do people feel the need to shit all over anyone else they don't agree with.
Are the Hellers obnoxious...yeah...are MC minions obnoxious...absolutely...but guess what there are just as many ugly fans in Jensen and Jared camps too.
I'll say right up front that I'm not a Destiel on Wincest shipper but honestly I don't care if others are. If that floats your boat, good for you. I'm a Chestervelle (Dean and Jo Harvelle) shipper.
I just want to know when did it become so friggin embarrassing to be a fan of these actors? I adore Jared, I've been a fan since Gilmore Girls. I started watching SPN for him. Jensen I really only know from SPN but still I love his portrayal of Dean.
I never really followed the fandom too closely over the years. I just read fan fiction and I followed the some of actors on Twitter and Instagram but that's about it.
Now I see so much coming onto my feed, even with all my 'safeguards' not to have to see it. It's just so horrible. I'm not even sure how some of this shit hits my feed but sadly it does.
So I'm going to say something here and now that isn't going to win me any followers. To the obnoxious Jared and Jensen minions who feel the need to tear down every other actor who appeared on the show.
Can you please check into the real world. Are Jared and Jensen successful? Absolutely. Are they A List...house hold names superstars? Nope sorry they aren't contrary to what you think. That isn't a dig to Jared or Jensen, it's just the reality of the industry and the world outside the fandom bubble.
I have to laugh when they go on and on about how successful J2 are. You would think they were earning a million dollars an episode(trust me they weren't...J2 aren't anywhere in that league) but they definitely earned a nice income from the show and the convention circuit.
You put a 100 average television viewers in a room who maybe caught episodes here or there over the years and ask them who Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki are and they wouldn't be able to tell you without some other prompting.
Like I said I know that will piss people off but I'm not saying it to be mean towards either of them or take anything away from them. It's just honest facts.
SPN does well for a fandom show and I do believe both Jared and Jensen are respected in the industry...as I believe a number of 'extras' (as Jared's minions like to call any of the supporting actors/guest stars from the show) are also very well respected in the industry.
They cling and brag about 'the awards' Jensen and Jared have won. Hmmm I believe that extra Sterling K. Brown won the Emmy for Best Lead Actor in a Drama a few years ago.
Seriously SPN was very luck to get some of the guest stars they got over the years. Season one alone they got people like Loretta Devine, Daniel Hugh Kelly, Jamie Ray Newman, Dan Butler and Julie Benz to name a few. The guest stars got even better as time went on and we had some great recurring characters too.
But for every shitty post I see from JA or JP minions demeaning the other actors who appeared on the show I find myself embarrassed to call myself a fan of these men because those are the fans who are the most vocal.
Now I know some actors tend to interact too much with the fan bases(and yes I don't like it and have posted that I can't stand it either *cough*MC, KR, RC, SF, CL*cough*) but they attack anyone who so much as 'Likes' a post one of the boys make even the ones who don't interact with the fans like that.
Alona had the audacity to like Jared's post supporting Jensen for The Boys (on Twitter no less...where she doesn't really post other than to like other people post occasionally...she's mostly active on Instagram and doesn't follow either JP or JA on that platform). I see shit she's 'riding' Jared's social media coattails like a 'typical attention seeking extra using Jared'.
OMG...newsflash. If that was the case and Alona was 'riding' anyone's SM coattails you think it would be Jared? Umm lets see JP has 2.9 million Twitter and 5.8 million Instagram followers. She hasn't worked with him in 10 years. She's just finished her second project for Reese Witherspoon's production company...RW has the same 2.9 on Twitter and 25.6 million on Instagram.
Now I'm not saying she wouldn't use someone to raise her social media presents(I don't know her so who the Hell knows) but really Jared or Reese...who would you use to accomplish this? Hell she's buddies with Gal Gadot...I would use her 55.2 million Instagram followers to boost my SM if I was her not Jared.
Again I'm not saying this because I have anything against Jared or Jensen...but these are the loudest part of his fan base lately and it makes it hard for the normal fans to enjoy not only Jared or Jensen but other performers from the show too.
So please tell me I'm not alone? Tell me there are other fans of Jared and Jensen who don't feel the need to shit on every other actor who's been on SPN just to try and build up Jared and Jensen success?
Can the fans who appreciate Jared and Jensen who don't feel the need to belittle every other actor who worked with them please try to be a little more vocal.
Obviously I'm not insane and I'm not tagging any actor or SPN here because I don't need to be 'target' as the enemy. I don't need that crap in my life. I just needed to vent and get this off my chest so my small little group of followers can ignore this post. It's really just for me more than anyone else and is being posted privately.
Edit to add...obviously I'm insane but I'm sick of seeing people I like being shit on by Jared and Jensen minion fans(especially due to what happened last week). Screw it, I'll take hate if it come my way. I'm changing this from private and tagging.
Then again I'm a very little fish in the Tumblr pond...

Week 17 Injury Wrap: Melvin Gordon no sure thing
Tumblr media
Melvin Gordon looks like a game-day call in Week 17 (AP/Seth Wenig)
Week 17 is generally a mess, and this year is no different. If you still have virtual trophies to play for, consider the status report, below.
• Thanks for the memories, DeAndre Hopkins. He has a calf injury and won’t play at Indianapolis. Will Fuller and Braxton Miller pick up the scraps.
• DeMarco Murray (knee) won’t play against Jacksonville, which means Derrick Henry picks up a start and a heavy workload.
• Melvin Gordon (ankle) did some work the previous two days and has a shot to play against the Raiders. The Bolts added Russell Hansbrough off the injury report, which could be a comment on Gordon or Austin Ekeler (broken hand). Branden Oliver could be needed to play more than usual.
• The Chiefs don’t care about the finale at Denver; Alex Smith and Tyreek Hill are definitely out. And I wouldn’t risk anything on Kareem Hunt or Travis Kelce, either. Patrick Mahomes picks up the QB start.
• Michael Crabtree, he of the Week 16 bagel, is expected to play through a sore hamstring. He’s not on the injury report. Amari Cooper has a sore ankle but should play as well.
• Cameron Brate (hip/knee) and DeSean Jackson (ankle) are going to try to play through questionable tags. Chris Godwin (ankle) is also dinged up.
• The Rams have no incentive against the Niners, which means a host of primary players won’t go (like Jared Goff, Todd Gurley). Cooper Kupp has a sore knee and he’s scratched, too. Malcolm Brown is expected to start at tailback.
• Julio Jones (ankle/thumb) had a reduced practice schedule but is expected to go against Carolina. He’s off the injury report.
• Although Kyle Rudolph (ankle) missed some practice time, the Vikings did not list him on the injury report.
• Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) and Cody Latimer (thigh) won’t play against Kansas City. Paxton Lynch is set to make another QB start.
• The Steelers held Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell out of Friday’s practice, and context clues point to both of them missing Sunday’s game against Cleveland. The point spread, once in the double-digits, has fallen all the way down to Pittsburgh -6.
• Marqise Lee (ankle) won’t play against Tennessee, but Allen Hurns (ankle) should be back. It’s hard to say how seriously the Jags will take this game. Losing might be in their best interests, locking Tennessee into the playoffs and locking the Chargers out. Keelan Cole (quad) is off the injury report.
• Chris Carson (leg) might have a shot at returning in the playoffs, should the Seahawks even qualify. The Seahawks need to win Sunday, and have Atlanta lose to Carolina. Jimmy Graham (knee) is not on the injury report.
• Mike Wallace (knee) finished the week strong and should play against Cincinnati. Jeremy Maclin (knee) is doubtful.
• Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is off the injury report, so look for him to play at Miami. He hasn’t looked 100 percent in several weeks, but the Bills are woefully thin at receiver.
• Chris Hogan (shoulder) is up in the air again; I wouldn’t risk him against the Jets, a game the Patriots should easily control. James White (ankle) is also questionable, but the Patriots might need him with Mike Gillislee (knee) and Rex Burkhead (knee) ruled out.
• Matt Forte (knee) missed the practice week, but still hopes to play against the Patriots. Austin Seferian-Jenkins (ribs) is listed as doubtful.
• Nick Foles is expected to start against Dallas, but head coach Doug Peterson won’t guarantee any of his starters will play full games. Caveat emptor.
• Davante Adams (concussion) and Jordy Nelson (shoulder) will not play at Detroit. Adams at least is in good spirits, as he just signed a four-year contract extension, max value around $58 million.
• Joe Mixon (ankle) did some work this week and might be able to go against Baltimore. Giovani Bernard figures to get a healthy share of work, with or without Mixon.
• DeVante Parker (ankle) is questionable for the finale against Buffalo, though he had an encouraging practice week. He’s not in my Circle of Trust, but maybe you’re more sympathetic than I am. Damien Williams (shoulder) is doubtful, so fire up the Kenyan Drake Show again.
• The Giants are down a host of talent, with Evan Engram (ribs), Sterling Shepard (neck) and Tavarres King (concussion) all out for Week 17. Roger Lewis is the last target standing, and RB Wayne Gallman has been handy in recent weeks.
• Cole Beasley (illness) is out for the finale at Philly. Rod Smith (illness/back) looks like a game-time decision.
• Kerwynn Williams (quad/ribs) did some work this week and has a shot to play at Seattle. He’s been the primary ball handler when he’s been on the field.
• Marquise Goodwin (back) missed some practice time but is expected to play against the Rams.
• Aaron Jones (knee) won’t play in Week 17. Jamaal Williams remains the starter.
• Eric Ebron (knee) is off the injury report, so dial him up against the Packers. Ebron has been reliable over his last seven games (34-370-3), and has touchdowns in the last two weeks.

Fantasy football 2017: A look back at key offseason NFL transactions
NFL free agency and the trade market always make for a wild March. However, now that fantasy draft season is upon us, it's time to figure out the implications of some of the notable offseason transactions.
It was a busy offseason for the NFL. Along with adding a new squad of rookies and another spin on the coaching carousel, plenty of veterans found new homes. Here is a breakdown of the offseason transactions that matter most to fantasy.
Quarterbacks
Mike Glennon – Chicago Bears
Good news, Mike! You’re going to get a chance to start again in the NFL. This time with a rebuilding Chicago Bears organization. Bad news Mike! They decided to trade up to draft a QB with the second overall pick. It’s hard to imagine that Glennon doesn’t start Week 1 for the Bears as they groom Mitch Trubisky. Neither should be on your radar in standard fantasy leagues. Glennon has some appeal in 2QB formats, but ideally, you’d want to avoid this situation, especially early in the season.
Brian Hoyer – San Francisco 49ers
Did you know Brian Hoyer is legally prohibited from playing in all 16 regular season games? The former Bear, Brown, Texan, and Patriot found a new home with a familiar coach in San Francisco. Similar to Glennon, he is more of a bye-week option than your every-week starter. Hoyer plays well for stretches of time but is also an injury risk. If you are into DFS, he could emerge as a low-dollar option with some upside, as the 49ers will likely be playing from behind most weeks.
Brock Osweiler – Cleveland Browns
Nothing to see here. He’ll have to beat out Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer to earn the starting job. The Browns offense should be better this year but not good enough to produce a QB worth of consideration in standard formats.
Running Backs
Marshawn Lynch – Oakland Raiders
Welcome back, Beast Mode! All the guy needed was a year off to go ride camels and rediscover his love of the game. When we last saw Lynch, he seemed to be slowing down. Seattle’s offensive line didn’t help the situation, but he had certainly lost something. He’ll attempt to rediscover his stride behind one of the better offensive lines in the league. The offense is loaded with weapons, so scoring opportunities should be plentiful.
Eddie Lacy - Seattle Seahawks
They won’t have "Fat" Eddie to kick around in Green Bay no more. The bruiser is now a Seahawk, creating a hazy picture around that now packed backfield. Early predictors indicate that Lacy should open has the lead back and get most of the goal-line opportunities. However, Thomas Rawls is still very capable and C.J. Prosise will get his touches. Lacy will be more of an RB2 to kick things off until we have a better idea of how the workload will breakdown.
Jamaal Charles – Denver Broncos
The former Chief just couldn’t get healthy last season and now finds himself in a crowded Denver backfield. There is a good chance Charles’ days as an elite playmaker are done. Also, the offensive line needs to step up for any Denver RB to be consistently reliable. C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker are also talented backs so this will be a competition to watch in August.
Latavius Murray – Minnesota Vikings
Recent reports suggest that Murray may have the first crack at the goal line and short-yardage scenarios, but he’ll be doing it behind a significantly worse offensive line. Toss in the facts Minnesota drafted perhaps the best back in the draft in Dalvin Cook and that Murray is recovering from ankle surgery, and it is difficult to see Murray as anything more than a FLEX option to open the season.
Adrian Peterson – New Orleans Saints
Speaking of the Vikings. Get ready for the awkwardness of seeing their Hall of Fame rusher in a Saints uniform this season. The veteran is coming off a season where he averaged less than 2 yards a carry. The offensive line deserves some of the blame, but AP is now 32 years old. You must imagine the wheels come off sometime soon, but we’ve been saying that about Frank Gore for the last 17 years. Peterson is in the RB2 territory since Mark Ingram should still have a healthy role.
Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead – New England Patriots
Have fun trying to pick which Patriot running back will be worth a damn game-by-game this season. There are no less than four rushers who could be "The Guy", if that role even exists in New England. Gillislee should fill the role made vacant by the departure of LeGarrette Blount, taking most of the touches and short yardage opportunities. Burkhead’s versatility makes him a handy option and he seems like the kind of back Bill Belichick enjoys utilizing. One more thing — Dion Lewis is still around and probably has the best burst and playmaking ability out of all the backs. Good luck with all that.
LeGarrette Blount – Philadelphia Eagles
He may not duplicate his 18-touchdown performance from last season, but Blount found a home on an offense that looks to be headed in the right direction. Ryan Mathews rushed for eight TDs last season for the Eagles and, reportedly, he is set to be released after passing his next physical to avoid a potential injury settlement. Blount is in good shape to be a solid RB2 this season and the price tag shouldn’t be too high.
Wide Receivers
Eric Decker – Tennessee Titans
Decker and the fantasy world breathed a sigh of relief when the veteran was released by the Jets. The red-zone killer is now a Titan. An offense piloted by Marcus Mariota who has some of the best red-zone stats in the league. Before you hit the "Buy" button keep in mind the Titans have several other serviceable ground and air weapons. Even with Rishard Matthews and Delanie Walker taking away targets, Decker is a solid option at the right price.
Jeremy Maclin – Baltimore Ravens
Going from the Chiefs, who ranked 25th in passing attempts in 2016, to the league leader in attempts probably put a smile on Maclin’s face. Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman should stretch the field, leaving the juicy underneath opportunities to Maclin. Unfortunately, Dennis Pitta is likely done playing football, but that does leave 121 targets, mostly on intermediate routes, to be split between Maclin and Baltimore’s collection of unimpressive tight ends. Maclin’s value does take a hit when you consider his injury history, something fantasy managers will have to factor in during drafts.
Terrelle Pryor – Washington
Not many people expected Pryor do much with his first full-time receiving opportunity with the Browns. When it was all over, Pryor caught 77 balls for four TDs and eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark. He gets a huge QB upgrade in Washington. Not to mention defenses can’t zero in on him with Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder on the same field. Josh Doctson is still a mystery, but he could also develop into a weekly option.
Brandin Cooks – New England Patriots
One could argue that not much changes for Cooks after his transition to New England. Brees and Brady are both top-notch quarterbacks and both teams have other high-quality options in the passing game. It will be interesting to see how Cooks is utilized by the Patriots, but with Gronk and Julian Edelman around expectations of a career season are a bit grandiose.
Alshon Jeffery – Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles badly needed a receiver like Jeffery. When healthy, he can be a workhorse, snatching passes all over the field. Zach Ertz and Jordan Matthews should work in tandem to keep the focus off Jeffery, creating an ideal landing spot for the five-year vet. If Carson Wentz can take a step forward Jeffery should once again enter the top-10 conversation at WR.
Pierre Garçon – San Francisco 49ers
Seeking a reunion with Kyle Shanahan, the veteran signed on to be the top receiving option for the 49ers. With new QB Brian Hoyer commanding the huddle Garcon should be a useful WR3 most weeks. The lack of a supporting cast keeps his value low as the 49ers attempt a rebuild.
DeSean Jackson – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
That loud boom you heard was Jameis Winston’s fantasy value skyrocketing. The speedy Jackson joins a very talented receiving corps headed by Mike Evans and supported by the rookie tight end O.J. Howard. He’ll struggle to shake his reputation as a "boom-or-bust" fantasy weapon, but he still has the wheels to be in the top 25 at the end of the season.
Kenny Britt – Cleveland Browns
If Britt could perform with Los Angeles’ cast of characters his value doesn’t take too much of a hit with his move to Cleveland. If anything, this should be a better situation for the veteran. The QB situation is still a bit murky so we’ll be keeping our eyes on that camp battle as it develops.
Brandon Marshall – New York Giants
At 33, Marshall’s time to get a championship is running out. He looked slow and unmotivated last year with the Jets, but it’s hard to blame him when that organization is likely tanking for the future. He’ll be the big receiver for the Giants, balancing out the shorter and speedier Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard. The Giants also drafted the highly touted rookie tight end, Evan Engram, who figures to operate as more of a receiver than pass blocker. Marshall should be a prime red zone target, but I wouldn’t set expectations too high given the amount of receiving talent around him.
Tight Ends
Jared Cook – Oakland Raiders
The Cook show is in Oakland now. If he hasn’t broken your heart in fantasy yet you must be new to this. He was limited by injury last year, but he does find himself on another high output offense. He has some deep league appeal, but I’m avoiding him in most formats.
Martellus Bennett – Green Bay Packers
Bennett is coming off a career-high TD total (seven) and now finds himself paired with Aaron Rodgers. Not a bad spot for the veteran, but Green Bay has struggled to get consistent production from the position over the past few seasons. Even though he will have to compete for targets with some of the best receivers in the league, he should still be able to a solid TE1.

#Retland #Pixelart #Gamedev #32pxart #TECH ‘The Good Fight’ Review: CBS’s Compelling New Legal Drama Deserves a Bigger Platform BY ALLISON KEENE FEBRUARY 17, 2017 SHARE TWEET the-good-fight-review Before I get into the virtues of The Good Fight — of which there are many — I have to pause and discuss CBS’s strategy for releasing the show. Initially, the broadcast network wanted to debut its premium streaming service, CBS All Access, on the back of a new Star Trek series, Discovery. After that, its Good Wife spinoff series, The Good Fight, would be the next new series offered exclusively on All Access, which also hosts CBS’s entire back catalogue of programming. Unfortunately, Star Trek: Discovery was plagued with production delays, so The Good Fight was moved up. As much as I like the show and the one it spun off from, I question the thinking of putting The Good Fight on CBS All Access to begin with. The Good Wife, though critically acclaimed, had a moderate viewership at best, and it’s unlikely that those fans will clamor to pay for a new series that is for them unproven. And if the idea is that they’ll want to already want to have All Access for when Star Trek: Discovery finally launches, well, is the crossover between these two show’s fandoms really that significant? Feels like a reach. the-good-fight-images-8 Image via CBS All of this is to say that I believe, vehemently, that The Good Fight should be airing on CBS proper, and available for all to see without extra payment. It’s a fresh take on The Good Wife model, and one that puts women and minorities first. To relegate it to an online paid service feels like exactly like the kind of marginalization that this show is fighting against. As to the particulars of The Good Fight, they are thus: Good Wife staple Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) is ready to retire from the now merged firm of Lockhart, Deckler, Gussman, Lee, Lyman, Gilbert, Lurie, Kagan, Tannenbaum, and Associates, and move to the Italian countryside. But just as she’s about to sign the papers, she finds out that, in fact, she’s broke. Her money is either gone or frozen, thanks to the Madoff-esque Ponzi scheme of a close family friend, whose daughter — Diane’s goddaughter, Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) — just started working for the firm. The first episode of The Good Fight explores the fallout from this, while also managing to sneak in a legal case. It’s what made The Good Wife so, well, good — that balance of character drama and legal drama. Both women are in downward spiral for very different reasons, but they leave the firm together for new shores, that of an (otherwise) all-black firm, one where Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) also recently landed. There are many thematic parts to The Good Fight that feel like the show from which it came. Like Alicia Florrick (who is named but will not appear in this series), Maia is an excellent lawyer, but she’s sometimes used as a pawn because of her family’s scandal. Diane is also starting down a few pegs below were she was when she was at her own firm, though not as far down as Alicia was in Season 1 of The Good Wife when she returns to law as a junior associate. But essentially, both shows feature women at tumultuous times in their lives, being called on to be tough and move on, even when they are at the brink of personal collapse. the-good-fight-images-5 Image via CBS Though there is no Juliana Margulies, there are plenty of other familiar faces on the show that makes it feel very connected to its predecessor. In addition to Lucca and Diane, Eli’s daughter Marissa (Sarah Steele), Diane’s estranged husband Kurt (Gary Cole), her former law partner David Lee (Zach Grenier), and quirky fellow attorney Elsbeth Tasconi (Carrie Preston) make regular appearances, alongside some familiar judges and lawyers. But The Good Fight is also completely its own story, especially in the character of Maia, who is just starting out and battling an unending sea of people who hate her because of what her father did (or is accused of doing). Leslie, Baranski, and Jumbo also do an excellent job leading the series, each providing compelling performances that feel new despite their appearances on the former show. They don’t have to be likable, but they are, and exceptionally so. And while so much feels the same, stylistically, about The Good Fight, there are a few things that feels like it’s leaning into because it’s not on CBS’s regular TV schedule, like the focus on the all-black firm and three female leads (one of whom is a lesbian, one of whom is black, and one of whom is 64 years old). Perhaps this is just my cynicism about network TV and CBS’s refusal to show any diversity in its regular programming, but it does feel like the show’s creators, Robert and Michelle King, are free to tell exactly the kind of story they want to. It’s still a procedural, but it’s a damn fine one — one worth paying for CBS All Access, even though it deserves so much more. Rating: ★★★★ Very good — Women on top! The Good Fight premieres Sunday, January 19th on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access. the-good-fight-images-9 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-4 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-3 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-6 Image via CBS PREVIOUS ARTICLE Top 5 Matt Damon Performances: How Do You Like Them Apples? Week 4 fantasy booms, busts and breakouts
Tumblr media
The time is now for Houston’s Deshaun Watson, especially in Week 4 against Tennessee. (AP Photo/Gary Landers)
Each week our gaggle of Yahoo fanalysts show their hands and reveal their top booms, busts and breakouts. Gaze into the crystal ball and list your picks, using the strict rules set, in the comment section below.
Among players under 50 percent started in Yahoo leagues, the loudest BOOM from Week 4 comes from ________.
Andy – JARED COOK isn’t even owned in 50 percent of Yahoo leagues as of this writing, but I like his chances to find the end-zone for a second straight week. He’s facing an excellent Denver defense, but the Broncos have actually allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Denver’s corners are so dangerous that opponents have chosen to rely heavily on the tight end position; Charles Clay scored last Sunday and Jason Witten broke the plane the previous week.
Brad  – BILAL POWELL. Come to Butthead, sweet Bilal. With Matt Forte likely out (toe), Powell should earn the workload lion’s share against Jacksonville. Yes, Jacksonville’s defense is much improved, but it’s still conceded 4.7 yards per carry to the RB position this season. Elijah McGuire will wrest away a few touches, but on roughly 14-17 grips, Powell has an excellent hot at 70-80 total yards with a score. FLEX him with confidence.
Scott — I’m going to punch up some PAUL RICHARDSON shares this week, with or without Doug Baldwin. The Colts are 30th in the league in pass yardage allowed, and 25th in YPA allowed — you can get what you need against these guys, in part because cover ace Vontae Davis has been out. Davis might be able to go Sunday night, but he won’t be 100 percent. Richardson is still trying to force his way into the Seattle rotation, but he’s scored a touchdown the last two weeks and he had a passable 5-49-0 line in the opener. Richardson more versatile and polished than Tyler Lockett, and his role should continue to grow.
Conversely, among players started in over 50 percent of Yahoo leagues, the biggest Week 4 BUST will be  ______.
Brad – MARTAVIS BRYANT. On board with Behrens’ assessment of Big Ben below, the trickle-down effect will greatly impact and marginalize Martavis. Add that to Baltimore’s trio of quality pass defenders – Jimmy Smith, Brandon Carr and LaDarius Webb each ranks inside the top-15 in passer rating allowed according to Pro Football Focus – along with the WR’s unappealing 16.4 percent targets share and it makes the decision to avoid Bryant even easier. A final line in range of 4-65-0 seems likely.
Scott — Just when we thought MICHAEL CRABTREE was set-and-forget, we’ve hit a bump in the road. He was invisible at Washington, like most of his mates; he’s dealing with a chest injury; and now the Broncos secondary comes calling. Crabtree’s last four games against Denver have gone nowhere — 15 catches, 147 yards, zero touchdowns. I’ll be proactively benching him Week 4.
Andy – As a multi-league BEN ROETHLISBERGER owner, I’m kind of petrified this week. He’s on the road at Baltimore on Sunday, and this trip has not gone well for him in recent seasons:
2016 – 264 pass yards, TD, INT, rush TD 2015 – 220 pass yards, 2 INTs 2014 – 217 pass yards, INT
Ben’s highest single-game passing total this year is just 263 yards, so it’s not as if he’s given us any reason to expect a breakout performance in Week 4.
Chuck a Hail Mary, the one deep player (under 15% started) you believe BREAKS OUT in Week 4 is ______.
Scott – I’m trying to make sense of the STERLING SHEPHERD starting tag (currently around 13 percent), and I got nothin’.  Shep came out of the box with a seven-catch in Week 1, and he was a 7-133-1 monster against Philly last week. With Odell Beckham finally healthy again, the Giants offense has a chance. And we know New York won’t run the ball much (or well), and we know there are leaks in this Tampa Bay secondary (Case Keenum found them last week).
Andy – KENNY STILLS had a relatively quiet fantasy week against the Jets, but we should note that he saw 10 targets, catching five. If he sees a similar workload against New Orleans in Week 4, I love his chances to find the end-zone at least once. Give him a look if you have a need.
Brad — DESHAUN WATSON. QB9 over the past two weeks completing 64.9 percent of his attempts while chipping in 54 rush yards per game, Watson has quickly become a rich man’s version of Cam Newton. In fact cutting Cam for the rookie isn’t at all a rash move. Already on record for calling Watson a top-10 QB rest of season, I’m confident he will again tuck inside the QB1 ranks in 12-team leagues, especially with speedster Will Fuller back.
Tennessee, carpet bombed by Russell Wilson last week, has given up a 7:2 TD:INT split over three games. Adoree Jackson and Logan Ryan combined have surrendered a 131.0 pass rating. Another 250-plus pass yards, 40-plus rush yards and 2-3 TDs are completely doable for Deshaun.
