Thinking about how Stede rarely touches anyone, in fact I can't recall him touching anyone but Ed. And seeing him try and comfort the Pirate Queen in the finale is sad yet funny - my awkward boy. He tries to comfort someone who is not in a place for that. And I think he did that partly because of Lucius. In 1x8 Lucius offered comforting pats to his knee when they and Olu talked about the "break up." And in turn, that made me sad about the lost friendship we had between the three of them, especially Olu. Lucius and Stede do have a heart to heart in 2x2 but Olu and Stede don't talk anymore this season really, and then Olu decides to leave. I guess I just really missed those character dynamics this season.
