stray kids x camp half blood (part 2)
part 2 is finally here and it’s time for changbin and hyunjin to take stage! i got really into writing these two so they seem a bit longer to me!! i fully intend to write a changjin fic in this universe one day so this is kinda just,, a way to explain backstory for me!
anyway here’s part 1 if anyone missed it and i hope you enjoy!!!
seo changbin- child of hades
okay,,, I know what you’re thinking,,, and I debated it too but he just fits so well as a child of hades so im resting my case with this. So,,, yeah theres that whole pact between the big three aka zeus, Poseidon and hades,,, and hades did stick to it,,, he just happened to totally forget that one time he didn’t but as no one ever came forward to be like “hey you gave me a kid??” he just chose to forget about it and stays loved up with Persephone down in the underworld. Changbin is pretty normal for the most part,,, goes to school, gets fussed over by his mum too much and likes to make music. Except,, well changbin knows he’s not normal when he came back from school one day and as he was fumbling to find his key to his apartment he shared with his mum,,, a huge pile of gold coins just appeared at his feet as he got more agitated when he couldn’t find his key… well his mum opened the door, saw the gold and was like,, well here we go. He gets sent to camp half blood that summer and is just like,,, I really don’t understand what I’m doing here when he’s with chan and chan just sorta looks at him funny before being like “well,, come and stay with me for the time being!!” and well,, it takes a few weeks of summer camp before changbin gets claimed and when he does…. It’s an absolute nightmare to say the least. Everyone is just so CONFUSED?? Like, Hades kids shouldn’t be a thing?? Wasn’t there that whole pact between the big three ?? Anyway,, this kinda causes people to stay away from changbin,,, bc damn that’s scary the third hades kid to appear in recent history is actually terrifying,,,, let’s just Zeus and Poseidon are raging upstairs lmaoooo. Poor changbin though,,, he had so many friends before he got claimed but they all kinda just left him,, apart from his lil crew of 8,,, yeah skz they don’t leave him behind. Bc they know he’s way more than being just a kid of Hades,,, like he’s so different from the typical moody, dark traits of Hades kids,,, pink sweaters, loves all things sweet, and ADORES HUGS. Like,,, a lot,,, which is good for skz because theyre so cuddly themselves but damnnn,,, dark scary changbin likes hugs?? He’s always clinging to felix or hyunjin and everyone’s just like,,, what. This makes people open up way more to changbin. Until it’s capture the flag time and changbin gets banned from summoning skeletons bc he sicced them on jisung once and well,,, yeah it wasn’t pretty. Oh,, changbin is like the strongest Hades kid who is not only good with his powers but like,,, he loves working out ?? everyone, including hades himself, just assumes he’s gonna stay a moody, thin kid like Nico or smth but no,,, short beefy changbin appears and he absolutely DECIMATES everyone including the ares kids in combat bc he’s just so,,, beefy….
hwang hyunjin- child of Hecate
So you’re probably all thinking,,, why not an Aphrodite kid?? Well that’s boring and overdone and I just think,,, witchy hyunjin. That’s all I want. Now hyunjin was sent to camp half blood by his dad bc quite frankly,, he was kinda terrified of what hyunjin might become without proper training so he sent him off with a promise from chiron to not reveal to hyunjin who is godly parent was,,, so there hyunjin was, standing around the cabins like,,, where do I fit in. Chan, being Chan, adopts hyunjin and they’re both just in the Hermes cabin. Hyunjin is kinda just,, a bit clueless bc he’s like,,, wow “Greek gods are real and im the son of one of them omg what if im like,,, the son of Poseidon or smth that would be so cool” and chan kinda just side eyes him bc like,,, chan knows he’s different and doesn’t fit with any of the cabins they have so. Anyways,, so as hyunjin only really goes to camp during the summer, by the time new cabins were built at camp half blood he was back at mortal school and when he comes back next summer,,, well he keeps being drawn to one cabin in particular…. You guessed it, it’s the Hecate cabin. He just stands there staring at it when he arrives until chan appears behind him to explain the new cabins and lets himself being dragged back to the Hermes cabin, not without sparing another look at the Hecate cabin. Hyunjin is fairly,,, okay at being at camp, he’s not the best archer or swordsperson, he’s okay at ancient Greek langauge, he does alright in his ancient Greek history classes but like,, he doesn’t fit in anywhere. All of his friends have been claimed by their godly parent and Hyunjin’s a bit bitter that his dad is either sending him to boarding school during term time and then to camp during the summer and still won’t tell him who is mum is like ?? yeah it’s bit frustrating bc he’s one of the oldest unclaimed kids and he’s just over it okay. One day in the middle of summer,,, everything changes. Hyunjin is just minding his own business as he’s cleaning up the archery area after practice when minho thinks it’s funny to see if hyunjin will notice if he shoots an arrow towards him,,, well,,, minho does this at the same time hyunjin whips around sensing something and theres an arrow flying towards him and he panics okay he doesn’t mean to stop it in midair it just happened and minho is just like,,, open mouthed staring at him like wtf. The arrow clatters to the ground after a tense few seconds and hyunjin just runs away to the only place that makes sense and it’s the Hecate cabin. It’s not until a few hours later when the boys decide to visit him that he sees another person, too busy being scared by what just happened and yeah, well as soon as the see him there’s a purple wheel above his head and he’s been officially claimed. Little things that had no explanation now suddenly do,,, it’s been hwang hyunjin all along.. (they keep it a secret from chiron and camp for a few hours as they comfort him but you know,,, chiron realises where everyone is pretty soon and he just smiles,, he knows hyunjin’s dad has nothing to fear anymore)

[ Meeting The Group For The First Time w/ Seungmin ] -
Warnings: None
AFAB Reader
A/N: My first ever request?! 🥺
Summary: You're Seungmin's long-distance girlfriend and you finally meet the rest of Stray Kids
Masterlist
It had taken weeks of pestering and poking fun for the group to draw it out from Seungmin that he was seeing someone. It had taken even longer to convince him to talk about you, your name, your favourite things, how you were managing the distance between you. By the time he begrudgingly let Changbin, egged on by Hyunjin, say hello over FaceTime, you had been together for a little while. That is how it continued - precious phone calls in the middle of the night, friends occasionally waving over Seungmin’s shoulder as they briefly ask how you’re keeping, before Seungmin scurried to his bedroom to steal what little time you have to talk for himself. It was difficult, but it worked.
But, Seungmin had been different for a week or two - animated, loud, unlike himself in more ways than one. It was Chan who noticed first and was almost worried; he hadn’t heard your voice filtering from beneath Seungmin’s door for a little while, or caught sight of your face filling his phone screen over FaceTime. He couldn’t help but think the worst. When he found five minutes, he asked Seungmin casually how you were doing, whether you’d finished that project he had mentioned was keeping you busy and Seungmin replied so coolly, so calmly that Chan almost overlooked what he said. ‘Y/N is coming to visit. She’s flying out at the end of the month.’
If Chan hadn’t glanced at Seungmin’s face, he might have missed the shade of sangria painting his features, the smile he was seemingly trying to downplay. He repeated Seungmin’s words, ‘Oh, she’s coming to Korea?’
It was T-minus five minutes until the entire group knew and Seungmin had Changbin poking at his sides and Jeongin pacing at the foot of his bed. But, Seungmin shrugged the teasing off and chose to ignore the constant questioning of whether they would meet you until after he’d spoken to you. He had laid down a strict set of rules over dinner - if they wanted you to visit the dorm, and only if you wanted to, they would have to at least tidy the place first. There was to be no embarrassing him and, under all circumstances, a shirt was to be worn by each and every member for each and every minute of your visit. As much as they half-heartedly protested, he trusted them to make you feel welcome.
He counted the days until your arrival and whilst he wanted to tell the others to stick it for the constant teasing that followed, Seungmin couldn’t deny how excited he was for your visit. For the first few days, his friends barely saw or received so much as a message from him. With an empty schedule, he made sure to spend every moment with you, showing you around the city, taking you to his favourite places, and catching up on everything that the distance between you had made difficult. Eventually, Jisung caught him in the hallway of the dorm before Seungmin left for your hotel and asked when they would meet you.
At first, he darted around the question and he might have avoided answering at all if Chan hadn’t materialised to put forward a better argument. ‘I think Jisung means that we want to meet the person who is making you happy.’
So Seungmin found himself guiding you through the dorm, his hand a constant in your own, firm as if you might slip away if he lets go. He isn’t certain who is more apprehensive, you or him. He knows that his heart is thrumming in his chest, but he is not sure if it is nerves or the very fact he has you at his side after all this time causing it. The group is in the living room, even from the other side of the dorm he can hear Jisung and he almost winces because how can one person be so loud? A fleeting glance in your direction, a smile somewhere between excitement and uncertainty, and he presses on along the hallway. When he had asked whether you wanted to finally meet those who had been interrupting your calls for the past few months, you had immediately agreed – these were Seungmin’s closest friends, almost his brothers, and you wanted nothing more than to properly meet them.
You’re almost at the kitchen when a door opens and suddenly you’re face to face with Felix and this really isn’t how you planned to meet the first of Seungmin’s friends - almost walking into one another. Maybe Felix is as surprised as yourself, but he doesn’t show it, shyly smiling and saying hello. Seungmin had mentioned how quiet Felix can be around fresh faces and to put him at ease, you squeeze Seungmin’s hand and tell Felix how lovely it is to finally meet him. He laughs quietly and briefly acknowledges Seungmin, before continuing to the living room. Part of you might have liked a moment to collect yourself, to lean into Seungmin and level your breathing, but Felix is kindly holding the door open for you both and Seungmin is stepping forward because if he doesn’t go now, he might be too shy to bring you back later.
So you enter the living room, half-tucked behind Seungmin’s shoulder and the room wants to fall silent, only Chan knows better. A single glance in your direction and he is standing, trying to make himself seem a little less broad and big as he moves a little closer to welcome you into the space. ‘It’s nice to finally have you here,’ Chan says, those sitting nearby nodding in agreement, he adds with a glimpse to Seungmin, ‘He can finally stop talking about it.’
The pressure seems to suddenly alleviate - Chan is laughing as he returns to his seat and you watch as the others begin to smile too and all the while, you’re faintly aware of Seungmin lowering his head to your shoulder as to hide his face. It is cute to see him so flustered, even at the teasing of his friends and as much as you want to add to it a little yourself, Changbin is nudging Hyunjin’s shoulder and telling him to move along the sofa to make space for you to sit. It is as if you have always been here as you take a seat, their attention returning to the video game filling the television screen.
Felix quietly asks how you’re finding your trip, how different it is from home and your anxiety seems to slowly dissipate. As you tell him how much you’re enjoying yourself, you softly squeeze Seungmin’s knee – as beautiful as his country is, it is him that you love. After a while, Hyunjin pulls his phone from his pocket and shares the embarrassing photograph he had snapped of Seungmin a few weeks ago. Seungmin sighs and accepts his fate, hiding his head in his hands and he too has the feeling that it has always been this way, that you have always been at his side.

Second Chance
I have never written something like this, so I am totally willing to write more about this scenario. I hope it makes sense.
Master List
~~
“Mom, its not a joke this time, I’m really sure.”
“I really hope so, darling, for his sake.” You laugh, leaning down slightly to look at the selections of meat. “If he breaks up with you again, I’m flying back to London to kill him myself.”
“You don’t mean that, mom.”
“You know I do Opal.” You assure your oldest daughter. “And I’d say the same to Ruby if that Rin breaks up with her too.” Opal laughs, which brings a smile to your face.
“Speaking of Ruby, how is she?”
“You know your sister, she’s had her nose in the books for weeks now. Claims she has to prove Harvard made the right choice.”
“Oh because the daughter of a neurosurgeon and an accountant, and the younger sister of a respected paleobotanist is the wrong choice to be a lawyer.” Opal chuckles at the thought, “Where on earth did she get that thought?”
“I imagine it has a lot to do with your father. The affair, the divorce, she’s much younger than you darling, she had to bear the brunt of it.” You stand upright, looking up as you blink away tears.
“She doesn’t hate you for it mom.”
“I really hope not.”
“How’s Korea? You said you hadn’t been back since before I was born.” Opal changes the subject and you focus back on the food in front of you.
“A lot has changed. Things are more expensive.”
“Have you run into any old friends?” The smile that forms on your face at the memory of the boys you had once been close to probably looked sad to an outsider.
“Ah, not yet. But it’s been over 25 years, they’ve probably forgotten about me.”
“You’re hard to forget, mom. I’ve got to go though, I just got to work.”
“Of course, darling. I expect an invitation soon.”
“You’ll get the first one. Love you.”
“Love you too, sweetie.” She hangs up with a click and you find yourself alone once again, looking at meat in a Korean supermarket. “Tonight shall be chicken.” You muse aloud, picking up the two packages to inspect them. As you turn, you nearly drop your basket when you see the person behind you.
His hair is starting to grey at the temples, and his eyes are surrounded by smile lines, but he still looks so familiar.
“Y/n?” The shock on his face is almost amusing.
“Bang Chan, its been far too long.”
~~
“27 years, you’ve barely aged a day.” He grins at you over his coffee cup.
“That would be thanks to make up and hair dye.” You joke, “You look ancient my friend.” He laughs, the hearty boom you had missed so dearly, that has you reaching over the table trying to shush him. “You are so loud.”
“Gosh, 27 years.” He sighs, “What happened to you?” Its your turn to sigh, a smile on your lips.
“Well, I met a guy,” His shoulders slump slightly at your words, but you pretend not to notice. “I didn’t really like him, but we had two kids. Two beautiful daughters. And, just last month, our divorce was finalized.”
“I’m sorry.” You wave him off, not too broken up about it.
“It’s alright. We only stayed together for the girl’s sake. Once Ruby, the youngest, was off to college we started the process. What about you? I heard Stay Kids ended up disbanding right before Minho went to the military.”
“Kind of. I got really hurt, shattered my kneecap about a week after having surgery for a torn ACL, no amount of physical therapy was going to let me dance again.”
“That really sucks, I know how much you loved that.”
“Well, it was destiny it seemed.” He shrugs, “Then Minho left for the Military and Changbin went with.”
“How are the others then?”
“It was wild at first.” He begins, sipping his coffee thoughtfully. “Hyunjin and Seungmin live together now, Minho and Jisung got married after Jisung came back from the military. Felix came out, officially, and pretty much changed the face of Korea with that one.”
“I heard about that, It was pretty big in America.”
“We all still hang out regularly, and put out music from time to time. I’m mostly working as a producer for the new groups out right now.”
“And what about your love life? I heard you got married.” He smiles sadly, the same way you do when you think about what could have been if you’d stayed in Korea.
“I’ll be honest, in my life there have been two women I have ever loved.” He starts, “One of them, I got to marry for five wonderful years, and have a wonderful son with.” He clears his throat and you can’t help but set your hand over his in an attempt to comfort him. “She died when Eunsom was four.”
“Oh, Channie, I am so sorry.”
“Its alright, it was years ago, and I’m sure she wouldn’t want me wallowing in grief for the rest of my life.”
“I think you’re right.” You smile softly at him, trying to convey understanding. “And what about the other woman?”
“Well, 27 years ago I broke her heart and she went home to America, but somehow, I ran into her again today at the supermarket.” You can’t stop the laugh that bubbles up, nor can you stop the blush that covers your cheeks. “I really hope she’s forgiven me, and might even tell me what she’s doing here?”
“She forgave you years ago.” You assure him, “And ironically, its because she now works at the same place you do.” The smile that erupts onto his face is contagious.
“Really?”
“I always have technically, I was in the New York office, but they let me move back here after everything was settled.”
“So you’re here for good?”
“I am.” You nod happily. “And it looks like we’ll be seeing plenty of each other.” Chan flips his hand, lacing his fingers into yours, the same way that it used to make your heart flutter when you were twenty.
“Well I for one, and happy to hear that.”

pairings: reader x hwang hyunjin (stray kids)
word count: 2.7k
warnings: anxiousness about flying, otherwise nothing!
a/n: this is my first fanfic and i’m starting off with something very cute, hope you all enjoy <3
*
When the calls for check-in started ringing through the speakers, you stood up from the spot you’d been sitting in for the past hour and stretched with a groan. You had been sitting cross-legged by the charging outlet, on the floor, and you felt and heard your knees crack as you stood.
“Check-in for Flight no. 348 at Counter 3–,”
You packed up your phone and carefully folded up your earphones, before sticking both items into the pocket of your jeans, and then taking out your passport. After making sure you had everything, you started heading towards the counter.
It felt familiar to you, even though you’d only flown overseas one other time—on your trip here, from Korea to L.A, for college. Your first year of schooling had finished, and you were on your way back to Seoul to see your family during the Summer. But even though you’d done this before, and you knew what to do, you were still nervous, because when you’d flown here, your mother had accompanied you. Just to make sure that you got settled in okay—it was a completely different country, after all, and since your mother had grown up in L.A, she had no trouble helping you out.
“Check-in for Flight no. 348 at Counter 3–,” the speakers repeated, and you hurried on over, picking up your pace to get in the line behind the three other people who had arrived crazily early, like you. When it got to your turn in the line, though, the man at the counter went through the routine things, helping you check in your single suitcase, and then he got a call, during which he talked in low tones and kept glancing up at you. Once he put down the phone, he told you to hold on, and then ran off to talk to the lady at the next desk down. You just watched in confusion, and stood there awkwardly. Had you brought something that was suspicious, or that you shouldn’t have brought? Was your bag overweight? No, that wasn’t possible, you’d weighed it at your dorm and it was fine—
“Miss,” The man said as he returned, looking a tiny bit more puffed than he had been before, “Since you’re travelling alone, how would you feel about being upgraded to Business class? We have a—uh, situation and it would do us a big favour—,”
You couldn’t help but sag in relief as you took in what he was saying, “Of course that’s fine, why wouldn’t it be? Thank you.” The man looked extremely relieved as well, and then he started typing away at the computer, and at last, after having stood there for a good twenty minutes, he handed you your boarding pass, and then saw you off with a smile and wave.
The boarding pass, with ‘Business Class’ written in fancy silver letters at the top, seemed far too prestigious for your hands; you were a college student who would’ve definitely not been able to afford this and you suddenly felt extremely special. Feeling that way then made you feel kind of silly, so you quickly shook it off.
But then you realised that having a Business Class seat meant that you could go into the Business Class Lounge—and then those thoughts of feeling special returned in full force. This time, you didn’t bother to push them away, because you were too overwhelmed with genuine excitement.
After making it through security and customs, you rushed to the Business Lounge. You had an hour and a half to kill before the flight, and you were determined to spend it all in the Lounge, pigging out on ice-cream and those fancy cakes your friends always posted on Instagram whenever they travelled.
The woman at the entrance did a one-over of your ticket and then let you in—you excitedly found a nice couch to sit in, dropped off your too-heavy backpack and then headed right to the ice-cream and dessert fridge. It was far too easy to pick out what you wanted. You just grabbed one of everything, one of every flavour, one of every dessert there was, and then you nestled back into the couch, at the corner of the space, and put your earphones in, sinking into the pillows and feeling like you’d just peaked in life.
After a tiring year at school, you felt like this was the universe rewarding you for your hard work, and the thought just made you shovel cakes into your mouth even faster. But not ten minutes later, somebody said to you, their voice muffled by the music, “Can I—uh—sit here? The other—um—tables are full.”
You pulled out your earphones and glanced up from your plate to meet the eyes of a tall boy, who was awkwardly standing with his two bags at the table next to yours, eyeing up your ice-cream.
Putting a subtle, protective arm around your food, you quickly swallowed your full mouth of cake and then responded, “Yeah, sure, no one is sitting here.” You smiled a bit, just to make sure you weren’t coming across as too nonchalant. As he smiled thankfully, sat down and adjusted his things, you got a chance to get a good look at him.
He was very good-looking, around your age, with blonde-ish brown hair and dark eyes, skin clearer than a sunny day. He smiled at you when he noticed you looking, and you bit your lip in slight embarrassment as you ended up blurting out, “How come you haven’t gotten any food?”
“Um, I ate, earlier,” He said, seeming to stumble through his English a bit…maybe he wasn’t from around here? “But I will—,” and then he suddenly switched to Korean, “get some ice cream later, probably.” Even though you barely noticed it, since you could speak both languages and had grown up with both, with your Korean father and American mother, he immediately realised his mistake and blushed. He quickly added in English, “Sorry, I’m…” He was lost for words, unsure of how to express what he meant, and he quickly flushed in frustration.
“It’s okay,” You said in Korean, offering him an understanding smile, and the moment he heard those words he sagged in relief, his eyes lighting up, “I speak Korean, too. I just came to L.A. for college. Where are you from?”
He seemed much more comfortable now, his body language relaxed and his expression less tense, “I’m from Korea, too. I came with some, uh, friends, but I missed the flight and now I’m flying later than them. That’s a lot of cake, by the way.” He glanced down at the multiple plates on your table with an amused glimmer in his eyes. “Oh, um—yeah, it is,” You said, and then bit your lip, unsure of what else to say, “Well, enjoy your ice cream, I guess.” You pulled out your laptop and pulled up your favourite Netflix show to watch, just so that you wouldn’t have to make the boy feel like he was obligated to talk to you. Also, you just really wanted to watch Netflix, after having little to no time during exam season.
You decided to head out of the lounge after you were finished your food. Yes, both plates of cakes and bowl of assorted ice-cream flavours, just to be at the gate early, get on the plane early, and take full advantage of the Business class privileges as soon as possible. As you were packing up your things, you unintentionally caught a bit of the conversation that the boy next to you was having on the phone, in very fast, urgent Korean:
“Hyung, I’m sorry, I’m already in the terminal, I’ll get on the next flight I can, I promise, no, no, I won’t miss the show, I’ll be there I promise just—I’m sorry,” He said in a low voice, focused on his conversation. He kept chewing on his lip, too, and your curiosity was piqued as you wondered what he could possibly be missing that was so important—exams, perhaps? No, but it was summer break now, even in Korea…
However, you brushed that away and decided that it was none of your business, before picking up your things. You hesitated a bit before slipping off, wondering if you should disturb the boy and say goodbye, but decided against it, and just headed out of the lounge with your bag.
*** Hwang Hyunjin groaned when he turned off the phone, and then groaned again when he turned around and realised that you were gone from your seat. Your empty plates and bowls were still there, but you were nowhere to be found. He kicked himself for not being brave enough to ask for your number, or at least just your name. He’d really wanted to see you again...
Too late now, though.
He heaved a heavy sigh and then swore internally—did Chan have to call at the exact time you’d decided to go? Any other time and it would’ve been fine…
Whatever. Too late now, anyway.
***
As you made your way down the aisle to your seat—third row, aisle seat, you kept repeating to yourself—you tried not to bump into the many flight attendants who were rushing around, directing passengers to their seats, passing drinks to the other business class passengers, and just bustling about doing their job.
You found yourself feeling very self-conscious, seeing as most of the people in the other seats in the business class section were all dressed in fancy blazers, reading newspapers. And then there was you, in your college’s grey hoodie, and black leggings, your hair no doubt a mess, looking extremely ordinary. Not only that, but you were definitely the youngest one here—even though you doubted that anyone cared about your appearance.
You approached your seat and took off your backpack, sitting down in your seat and then slipping your bag under the seat in front of you. You also did a quick check of your phone, simultaneously patting down your hoodie pocket to ensure that your passport and wallet were still safe.
You hadn’t even noticed the person next to you, too afraid to talk to a stranger, until they tapped you on the shoulder and exclaimed in fluent Korean, “Hey, you’re the girl I sat next to in the lounge!”
You whipped around, and sure enough it was him, the boy from the lounge earlier, and your eyes lit up. It was probably relief that burst through you at the sight of him, because even though you weren’t familiar with him, at least you wouldn’t have to sit next to a completely unfamiliar, older, and far more mature adult. That would’ve been far more awkward.
Even though you doubted they’d care. But even though you tried to hide your nerves, being on the plane, especially alone, made you feel a tiny bit anxious—you hoped there wouldn’t be too much turbulence. “Hey!” You exclaimed, turning around fully to face him, once again taking in his incredibly beautiful face, “I was going to say goodbye, but you were on the phone…”
“I know, I’m sorry,” He said, shaking his head slightly, “My friend called me just to check on me, so I never did get your name…”
“It’s Y/N,” You said, smiling, and when he did the same, you swore your heart skipped a beat. He was far too pretty—even though he wasn’t wearing anything fancy. In fact, he was dressed in a hoodie and jeans. This time, he was wearing a beanie that covered his blonde-ish brown hair. Sure, he was dressed very ordinarily, but still… “What’s your name?”
“Hyunjin,” He said very excitedly, seeming to be ecstatic at seeing you again, “Oh, my god, I thought I wouldn’t see you ever again and I really wanted to talk to you more.”
You flushed, flattered at his remark. He probably meant nothing of it; it was probably just an off-handed comment, but you still felt the heat rise to your cheeks, “I’m glad to see you again, too, Hyunjin.”
The two of you shared some light conversation, and it flowed easily between you. For some reason, it was easy to talk to Hyunjin, even though you often found it hard to socialise, especially with strangers. But you talked about everything—your life in L.A and your life in Korea, and he talked all about his friends and his home in Korea. He was very charismatic and bright, and you found that to be a nice change from the dreary environment of the college campus for the past few weeks, what with everybody being so drained from the exams. At some point, a flight attendant came and gave the both of you some pineapple juice, and you took it gratefully.
When the message came through on the intercom that the plane was about to take off, though, your nerves suddenly peaked and your words became stiffer. You could tell that Hyunjin had noticed, what with his eyebrows creasing in concern whenever you had to ask him to repeat a question because you were too distracted from your stress to hear him. He didn’t say anything until the plane started moving, the lights in the cabin dimmed, and you immediately grabbed hold of the armrests on either side of the chair you were in. “Y/N, hey, you alright?” He asked, shooting you a concerned look, turning his gaze away from the small airplane T.V and to you, instead. “Do you feel sick?”
“No, no, I’m okay,” You reassured him, trying to appear as calm as you could, “I’m just—,” but when the sound of the engine became louder, the plane speeding up to take-off, you gritted your teeth and couldn’t continue with your explanation. Instead, you focused on your breathing, staying calm. It wasn’t the thought of flying itself that scared you. Instead, it was the feeling of the inertia slamming into you, and the feeling of your stomach dropping during turbulence, that really made you anxious.
Hyunjin turned his whole body to face you, appearing completely unbothered by the velocity of the plane, and when the aircraft started to lift-off, you sucked in a breath and then audibly whimpered, shutting your eyes.
Suddenly, you wished Hyunjin would look away because you didn’t want him to think lesser of you—he probably thought you were a coward, and a weirdo, and you didn’t want this boy you’d just met (and found very cute)
Oh my god this is so embarrassing, why am I like this—
But rather than hearing a remark making fun of your fear, or a judgemental snicker, you suddenly felt Hyunjin’s hands taking yours and squeezing them gently. He laced your fingers with his, and the warmth of his hands made your cheeks blush the colour of a pale sunset.
“It’s alright,” He said, and when you finally opened your eyes, you met his gaze—he was smiling, and he gave your hand a comforting squeeze, “If you feel scared, I’ll hold your hand.”
The plane jolted a bit, and you squeaked.
“Hey, don’t worry,” He said reassuringly, “I’m here, just focus on the feeling of my hand, alright? We’ll be okay.”
You closed your eyes and leant towards him, and he wrapped his other arm around you gently, holding you. You took in the warmth of his hand, and the feeling of his arm around you, and the comfort of the circles he was rubbing into your back, and you finally steadied your breathing.
He held you, and didn’t say a thing—just leant you a hand and his smile, and it was enough.
Maybe this—all of this, being upgraded to Business class, then meeting Hyunjin, and then sitting next to him—maybe this was the universe rewarding you.
Whatever it was, you couldn’t be more grateful. You smiled as the plane steadied, and you finally opened your eyes.

pairings: hyunjin x reader
w/c: 1650
description: what do you do when you can’t figure out your feelings for the super cute prince of korea? fly to italy with your best friend of course!
Tumblr media
“YEJI YEJI YEJI YEJI” you say as you frantically enter her room
“Y/N YO WHA-”
“hyunjin confessed to me!!!” you shout
“huh? confessed? like..?”
“YES!!! WHAT AM I GONNA DO”
“well.. do you like him back?”
“I DON’T KNOW??? PLEASE HELP”
so yeah
internal crisis #1
do you like:
mr prince hwang hyunjin
he confessed to you like 2 days ago
and you still! haven’t! given him an answer!
it doesn’t help that he’s been eerily nice to you?
like giving you the last pancake
or him buying you bubble tea
IT’S LIKE
HE’S MAKING YOU THINK OF HIM
YOU TRIED TO
INSULT HIM
FOR GOOD TIME SAKES
SO HE CAN INSULT YOU BACK
BUT HE DOESN’T
he was telling felix some stupid unfunny joke
so you said
“what are you??? twelve??”
AND HE SAYS
“no, but you are on a scale from one to ten”
LIKE
WHA-
BRO
i mean you just came to terms as liking him as a human being
now liking him in that way????
hard to imagine
“OKAY OKAY, you don’t feel ANYTHING toward hyunjin?
“i mean like- it’s not like i don’t have ANY feelings towards him”
“okay so.. what DO you feel toward hyunjin”
“i.. i DON’T KNOW”
“HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW IT’S A SIMPLE QUESTION”
“NO IT’S NOT AND YOU KNOW IT”
“SO WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO”
“I DON’T KNOW JUST TALK IT OUT WITH ME”
“you know what you need?”
“PLEASE tell me!!”
“a trip to italy!!!”
“yeji. i- I LITERALLY just went to barcelona! and paris before that!”
“you forget that you’re talking to the cousin of the prince of korea?”
“BUT-”
“no buts!!! you need time away from hyunjin also we’ve been needing time together!”
“but-”
“i’m packing your things and we’re leaving tonight!”
you feel like
this whole trip has been a fever dream
like you were literally just going to london for like a week
which then turned into a month
which then turned into you going to paris and spain with the cute and mysterious prince of korea
so yeah
not real life
but yeji is a woman of her word
and you guys fly to rome that night
you spend a couple days in rome touring the colosseum and the basilica and other fun touristy things
and as always
grabbing coffee on cobblestone streets
but you can’t help but to want hyunjin with you?
like it just didn’t feel the same
and that something was missing
“okay. back to business”
you take a sip of your coffee and say, “... what business”
“we need to figure out your feelings!! we didn’t come to italy just to stroll”
“but!! it’s!! complicated!”
“so let’s uncomplicate it! and i thought you liked felix?”
“no i just- realized i liked him more as a friend, as in i had a major major friend crush on him”
“so how do you know that you don’t just have a major major friend crush on hyunjin”
"i DON’t know WHICH is my problem”
“okay well... what DO you know about our dear hwang hyunjin”
“..well i know that he’s a dog person and loves got7 and he really really likes dancing and he can’t eat onions or eggplants and his favorite season is autumn and-”
“.. sounds like you know an awful lot”
“i mean-”
“do you want my opinion?”
“of course!”
“i’ve seen how your relationship has grown since the beginning, i mean who can forget that screaming match you two had in front of the palace?”
“haha yeah that was..”
“and you’ve spent SO much time the past two weeks we were here, so i feel like knowing you, you were bound to like him one way or another, and you guys look extremely comfortable together”
“when you put it that way-”
“and how has the past two days been? i knew you guys weren’t talking”
“i mean it sucked but,, i’m not sure if it’s because i like him like that or i like him as a friend”
“okay... then let him take you out on a date!! and then from there you can figure out what you really feel for him”
“that’s.. not a horrible idea..”
“and this is why i’m your best friend”
so with a new pep in your step you and yeji both head back to london
and you get ready for your date!!
♡━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♡
so here’s the plan
you meet up with hyunjin
ask him on a date
but make him plan a date
and then see where it goes from there?
sounds like a sound plan
the moment you step into the palace
your eyes look for hyunjin
but find felix instead
“FELIX! where’s hyunjin??”
“i think he’s on the balcony? you know the one attached to his bedroom???”
“THANKS!” you shout as you run up there stairs toward his room
you open the doors to his room
and you see him look back you
“... y/n?”
“... hi hyunjin..”
“what’s up? i haven’t seen you for a few days”
“i- i was thinking about some stuff..”
ah yikes why is this making you so nervous
why is HE making you so nervous
“mhmm.. and what would this ‘stuff’ be?”
i mean
it’s now or never
so you gather up the rest of your nonexistent courage and say,
“take me on a date.”
“.. i’m sorry?”
“please? take me on a date?” you say less reluctantly
“shouldn’t it be you taking me on a date?”
“no listen. i went to italy with yeji -- i know random, but she said that we should go on a date because i don’t know how i feel about you”
“you.. don’t know how you feel about me?”
“hyunjin,, cut me some slack you called me dumb when we first met and never stopped fighting and then all of a sudden you say you like me?”
“.. i mean i see your point,,,, okay! i’ll take you on a date! this will be the BEST date you’ve ever been on so i hope you’re ready y/n”
“looking forward to it!”
♡━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♡
oh god
you’re a mess
“YEJI the only thing i’ve been doing is shopping HOW DO I HAVE NO CLOTHES”
“girl, you’re freaking out too much you need to chill”
“but-”
“hey, just pretend you guys are just hanging out! what makes this so different??”
“i mean-”
“unless,,, you genuinely care about this date and you want it to go well??” yeji says smirking
“UH I-I”
“omg just wear that you bought yesterday and meditate or something bro you’re stressing me OUT”
“i just!!! want to figure it out!!!”
“okay okay, deep breaths,, one scenario is that you find out you like him and feelings are returned and you can live happily ever after and ride horses off into the sunset,, second scenario is that you don’t have the same feelings for him and you can’t return it and you both move on with your lives,,”
sigh “you’re right, you’re right! i just need to take a chill pill”
“what time are you two meeting anyway?”
“.. in 30 minutes”
“you don’t have any idea what he’s got planned for you?”
“nope”
“well,, i’m excited for you!”
“that makes one of us!”
♡━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♡
“don’t worry too much babe, i’ve got the whole day planned for us!!”
“.. don’t babe me we’re not even dating”
“....yet” hyunjin says whilst winking at you
“you sound very confident”
“i am very confident!”
hyunjin drags you around london
and takes you to the conservatory because you love plants
“aww hyunjin look! this plant is so cute!”
“not as cute as you”
“s-shhh”
and takes you to a coffee shop (you don’t miss the cobblestones part)
“you never miss a beat do you?”
“duh, you did say that drinking coffee on cobblestones streets was your dream,, i just wanna be a part of it”
and takes you on a picnic
“wow you’re really spoiling me today”
“you deserved to be spoiled, princess”
ahHhHhHHHHHhh STOp
and talks about his hopes and dreams
“so you know how i said i wanted to be a dancer?” hyunjin says
“mhm”
“i wanna sing too”
“with a voice like yours? totally possible”
and last but not least
he takes you up on the london eye
“wow we get the whole cart to ourselves???!”
“of course! don’t you know who you’re talking to?”
“ah the prince of korea how could i forget”
“you know,, as much as i love getting all these free perks and stuff,, it kinda sucks being a prince”
“i know we talked about this,, but do you wanna elaborate??”
“i mean,, all the rules, all the fake people who try to be my friend just for my title..”
“what makes me different then?”
“you were friends with yeji,, and if you stuck by her side all these time, i knew that you were genuine, also i had to drag you to hang out with me and you never really liked me that much” hyunjin says chuckling
“that’s not true,, i had to have liked you a little bit since i hung out with you that often”
you and hyunjin both laugh and you turn to look at him
you just realize how etheral he looks with the moonlight shining on his face as he looks out into the london skyline
and that’s when it hits you
“y/n.. i really like you”
“hwang hyunjin... i like you too”
♡━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♡
.. ya’ll caught me
i just wanted reasons to look up “things to do in italy”
anyways, hope you enjoy
thanks for finally confessing your feelings so this story will really start to pick up

starry night ➳ l.f ➳ 2
Tumblr media
lee felix x reader ft. kim seungmin and hwang hyunjin.
words: 2.5k.
genre: fluff.
requested? no.
- part 1 -
---
“The paint on your cheeks is really cute,” Felix says as you step out of your art class. You had spent all morning adding the final touches to a piece you had been working on, and as a result hadn’t bothered checking the mirror before you left. Seungmin takes out his phone and shows you in the camera were the few blue dots were scattered across your face. “Ready for lunch?”
“Always,” you grin as you finish wiping away the paint. Felix and Seungmin stand either side of you, yet you can sense the happiness coming from both of them; Felix had his best friend back, and Seungmin hadn’t lost his completely. The smile on your face couldn’t be challenged as the two of you sat in a small bakery, eating the most interesting things you could find on the menus and sharing those times you used to have.
The afternoon is spent doing the things that you missed doing with your two roommates. It feels different having Seungmin around, but you put that down to him being so absent recently. When the three of you finally crash at the apartment, Felix took to performing in the living room whilst you were busy drawing away, and Seungmin calling Hyunjin in the corridor.
“He’s talking to him again,” Felix sulks after he finishes rehearsing a piece he had been frantically trying to learn, sighing as he flops to the floor beside where you were sitting. You smile, reaching down and pushing his cheeks into a smile.
“He’s trying his best, Felix. We got him to hang out with us today after a long time of not seeing him; baby steps?” You let your hands drop, but the smile stays on his face for a short while.
“It didn’t feel right,” he whines quietly, pulling out his phone and scrolling through instagram besides you. “Like, I liked having him around again. But I like it more when it’s just us.” You can’t tell the tone of his response, and it makes you nervous. You put down your sketchpad and face him properly.
“What do you mean, Felix?”
“I- I don’t know,” he mumbles, putting down his phone and facing you now. “Before you, I loved hanging out with Seungmin. He was my favourite person to spend time with since I moved to Korea, where I didn't understand anything. But now that person is you… And it feels odd having him around now.”
You heart beats hard against your rib cage, and you aren’t sure how to respond. Instead you just smile at him as best as you can, before looking at the ground.
“You don’t mean that, he’s still your best friend Felix,” you sigh, but the boy shakes his head. He takes your hand, squeezes it before shrugging. The silence coming from him sends you a million mixed signals, and you aren’t sure how to respond to a single one of them.
Felix finally opens his mouth to say something, but Seungmin bounces into the room with exciting news before the smaller boy could continue.
“So I have some exciting news!” Seungmin grins, taking a seat opposite Felix and you. “Hyunjin just called. His parents had a dinner reservation at a fancy restaurant with some friends but they had to cancel. They said as a Christmas present they'd pay for all our meals instead of letting the reservation go to waste - tonight. Are you guys down for that?”
“Free food? Of course I am!” Felix says, grinning brightly at you. Nodding at Seungmin you smile at the glowing faces of both the boys. Felix stands up and drags you with him, knocking all the sketch pencils and pad off of your legs as you rise.
The piece you had recently been working on spills open, and Seungmin doesn't hesitate to pick up the book and glance at the drawing before you can hide it. A knowing smile crosses his face as he shuts it carefully, and hands it back to you. The look in his eye makes you blush hard as Felix dramatically pulls you towards the bedrooms, spinning you into your room before disappearing into his.
You open the sketchpad again and look down at the image. It was a creative piece, one you had been thinking of designing into a larger work for your finals. The person who had inspired the work was easy to identify though: Felix. His silhouette filled the page, freckles scattered across the page as little stars and his eyes glowing like the moon. Looking at it from a fresh angle made you understand why Seungmin had looked so smug at the work; it was clearly a piece that expressed admiration for Felix, and possibly did so in a manner that could be perceived as more than friends.
You groan and stuff the sketchpad under your pillow before changing into a simple, elegant outfit, not really sure how to dress up for this event. You figured a smart coat, nice scarf and brushed out hair was already a big improvement from your usual paint covered clothes, fluffy socks and scruffy buns. Still, that didn't stop you from feeling underdressed half an hour later sat opposite Hyunjin in the restaurant, who wore some expensive designer you hadn't even heard of before.
Sitting with the three boys reminded you of why you were so happy for Seungmin, despite his distance the last few months. You could see how happy Hyunjin really him, and how Hyunjin hung off of every word Seungmin had to say. Felix could see this as well, and despite his sadness at the thought of losing his best friend sometimes, seeing how happy he was in his new relationship made him very happy.
At least, this is what he told you as he walked home with you later. The two other boys had said they were going to catch a movie after dinner, and whilst you and Felix were free to join them, you felt it was a bit awkward to join them on their entire date with the boy you were beginning to desperately crush on. Besides, it was getting cold out and Felix was flying to the other side of the world in a few days, so you wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.
“They are really cute together,” Felix says, his hand keeping yours warm as the two of you strolled along the pavement together. The sky was very cloudy and you couldn't see the moon or stars, which were your favourite things to watch usually. It was like they'd bled from the sky and scattered themselves across Felix's cheeks, and this was capturing all of your attention rather than what the boy was actually saying. “Hey, y/n?”
“Sorry Felix,” you say, rubbing your eyes and finally looking at him. “I'm very tired. These art finals are really starting to keep me up at night.”
“I can see,” he says, flicking your nose before pulling you along the road again. “Let's get you home and get you asleep. I think you need some rest.”
Felix continues to ramble about his theatre work he has coming up soon, and listening to his voice sends you into a daze. Something has happened today that has you dreaming about him more than usual, and you cannot work out what it is.
It is still bothering you when Felix lays alongside you in your bed. You'd been streaming a cheesy movie on your laptop before you'd finally dropped your head on his chest, half asleep and half wondering what these feelings for Felix were. Ever since Seungmin had made your feelings for him so blaringly obvious you hadn't been able to stop thinking about it. Felix wishes you a goodnight and continues watching the laptop screen, tracing patterns into your back that make resisting sleep even more impossible.
You are so close to giving in to the warmth that Felix provides that it startles you when he starts talking softly into your hair. His words are so deep and quiet that you don't quite know what you are hearing, but they make your heart race nonetheless.
“y/n I'm not sure what we are. But what I do know is that I'm happy. Whether we are friends or more, I'm happy with you. And this is what I had planned to tell you tonight, because you looked so beautiful in that restaurant that I just wanted to confess there and then. But I've kept quiet, resisted the urge to tell you, and with Christmas I worry about what will happen.”
“You've got to tell them,” Seungmin's voice from the doorway makes Felix jump beside you, so much so that you accidentally sit up as well. The colour Felix turns makes him look like a ghost, and Seungmin doesn't look much better in the doorway. “Oh sorry. I didn't realise you were both awake-”
“I didn't realise you were awake eitherith, y/n,” the panic in Felix's voice makes you feel awful for staying awake and listening. You shake your head, rubbing your tired eyes and resting a hand on his.
“I was asleep. What happened?” You play it off to rest the boy’s nerves, and slowly the colour returns to his face. He physically relaxes, sinking into his bed again as he gazes at you lovingly.
“Nothing. Seungmin came home all loved up and gave me a fright,” Felix giggles, twisting a lock of your hair around his finger before letting his hand drop. “Come on, it’s fine. Isn’t it Seungmin?”
In the doorway Seungmin nods slowly, giving you his priceless sweet smile before backing out, leaving Felix and you in silence save for the end of the film playing. Felix makes a whiny sound, pulling you back towards him for another hug and trying to play off what has happened. His words are the only thing you can focus on as he tries to lull you back to sleep.
---
Unlocking your apartment door after three weeks of spending Christmas around your chaotic family feels weird. The silence in there is a relief after such a hectic few weeks. You knew that you’d have the apartment free for a few days after returning as Felix was flying in from Australia just before school started again, and Seungmin was returning in about two days from his hometown.
So when you abandon your bag in the hallway and tiredly pace down the corridor, seeing a ginger haired boy on the couch was not what you were expecting. Felix jumps up at seeing you in the corridor, clearly not expecting you to be home either.
“Y/n? You are back already?” He asks, rubbing his eyes. You could see the jet lag set in his figure, from the sleepy look in his eyes to the droop in his shoulders.
“Yes - You aren’t supposed to be back for another week Felix?” You ask, walking over and joining him on the couch. He spreads his small body out comfortably, clearly before close to falling asleep again.
“I know. My flight got rearranged and I had to come back. I don’t know. All this travelling is really messing with me,” Felix says, yawning tiredly. “Besides, I missed you and Seungmin. Can you blame me?”
“I guess I missed you as well,” you teasingly say, poking his sides. “It’s good to have you back. Did you want anything to eat?”
“No, I just want to catch up with you!” He says with the most adorable sleepy tone. “So tell me all about your Christmas.” You sit beside him comfortably on the couch, running your hands through his freshly dyed hair and telling him all about your time away. When you’ve finished he’s happy to tell you all about his time in Australia.
“It sounds so wonderful,” you say in awe when he finishes. “I would love to visit some time. I’m very envious of you.”
“Honestly we should go some time,” Felix says absentmindedly. His words make you smile, but it still makes you jump when he shoots up from the seat and stares at you intensely. “In fact, actually, about that.”
“What about what?” You ask, confusion laced in your tone. Felix takes your hands in his, but refuses to look you in the eyes. “Felix?”
“When I was in Australia, I had a lot of questions about here. What was school like, where was I living, who my best friends were. Family being family, and namely my mother and aunts, were all asking me about any relationships I had. It had me thinking a lot about things, y/n, and this is something that I have wanted to tell you for a very long time.
“I really like you. More than I’ve ever liked anyone before. And I’ve been thinking about this for such a long time now that it’s bothering me that I haven’t said anything sooner. And it isn’t the dramatic moment that I wanted it to be but I doubt you’ll even like me back-”
“Stop talking,” you say gently, pressing your finger to his lips. He sits there like a rabbit caught in headlights, clearly wanting to ramble more until he can’t breathe anymore. “I’m so glad you finally said something. Because I wasn’t sure how to, and I didn’t think I could survive any longer either.”
“Wait- you- what- me- yes?” Felix babbles behind your hand, taking it from his mouth and holding it tightly. “You like me too?”
“Yes, you fool! How did you not know?” You giggle, a blush spreading across your face. Felix gives you the brightest smile before wrapping you in a hug, burying his face in your shoulder.
“Oh my gosh. I am an idiot,” he says when he finally pulls away. “Guess I can do this the fancy way I’ve always wanted?” And like that, he is back to his usual self.
“Be my guest.”
“Y/n, would you allow me, Lee Felix,” he jumps off of the couch and crouches to one knee, taking your hand in his. You can’t help the laughter that escapes you as he dramatically shakes his hair back, “To take you on a date?”
“If you can find somewhere in the city we haven’t already platonically explored, Felix, I would be honoured for you to,” you reply cheesily. The bright smile on his face shines more than the sun does on a hot summer day. The boy doesn’t hesitate in wrapping you in the softest hug ever, pulling you close until you slip off of the couch and join him on the floor.
Having the words out of your head and in the air between you feels so much better. Your Christmas period had also been spent with family who were curious when you'd settle down with someone. Felix was always the person that came to mind, but you were convinced it would never been him.
And now, there was a chance that it could be him.
