Headcanons: their reaction to the fact that you have a little daughter🩵
Featuring: Cho Hyun Ju x Reader(f), Thanos (Su Bong) x Reader(f), Kang Sae Byeok x Reader(f), Kang Dae Ho x Reader(f), Gang No Eul x Reader(f)
Summary: you were in a relationship with a guy, but as soon as he found out that you were pregnant, he left you. Now you are raising a five-year-old girl, but you meet your other love and are afraid to confess everything.
A/N: I'll hope I managed to write everything well!
🩵🩵🩵
Cho Hyun Ju
You've been dating a girl for five months. And these months you didn't tell that you have a five-year-old daughter. You were afraid that she would leave you, because many people did so.
You are not stopped even by the fact that Hyun Ju told you her most important secret, that she is a trans girl. You were still afraid.
But it's time to confess, because the girl wants to live together and create a full-fledged family.
On another date that took place in a cafe, without saying anything to your girlfriend, you took your daughter with you, telling her in advance that you wanted to introduce her to your love. The girl was very happy and was really looking forward to this meeting.
When you came, Hyun Ju was very surprised and didn't understand anything at first, but after listening to the whole story, she only smiled softly.
- So now I have not only a wonderful future wife, but also a sweet daughter.
You realized that your girlfriend will be a great mother for your daughter.
Thanos (Su Bong)
You've been dating a guy for half a year and during this time you didn't tell him that you have a daughter. Not because didn't want to, but because of what Su Bong said right away, he hated children. But you loved him very much and hoped that he would accept the girl and even want to have his own children.
But it didn't happen, the guy was still against the children, but you hoped.
And everything was in vain.
He sent you a photo of you sitting in the park with your daughter. It turns out that he accidentally saw you and took a picture to figure it out. You had no choice but to tell that the child was hidden from him for six months. Su Bong was furious. He didn't want to listen to anything and figure it out, he just wrote one last message:
"I wasted my time on you, if you think I'll accept you and your little crap, then you're a complete fool! I said from the very beginning that I hate children, and now I hate you too!"
After that, he blocked you and you saw his true face that the guy left you by correspondence and insulted you and your daughter. You sobbed all night and your daughter didn't leave you.
Kang Sae Byeok
You and the girl dated for only a month, but you loved her very much and wanted to connect her with her all your life.
But despite this, you were afraid to admit to her that you have a little daughter, of course Sae Byeok knew that your ex-boyfriend left you, so now you are afraid that you will be abandoned again.
But you had to tell as soon as possible, especially since you and Sae Byeok planned to start living together soon.
That's why you came up with a plan. You invited your girlfriend to your house.
Sae Byeok came, but not alone. There was a boy of about ten next to her, he looked a lot like a girl. You were very surprised, as were your girlfriend, because you met her with a little girl.
After you talked about everything, you just laughed.
- So now we will have a big family. And my brother and your daughter will become very close. - the girl said with a soft smile, while you watched how the children had already made friends with each other.
Kang Dae Ho
You and the guy have known each other for about two months and are already planning a wedding, because you want a big and strong family.
You knew that the guy loves children very much and wants at least three, so you were not afraid to admit to him that you have a little daughter.
You decided to invite him to the amusement park, especially so that the girl would have a good time.
You were not mistaken with the choice. Dae Ho immediately accepted your girl and on the first day was already very attached to her. You had the most fun day in your life, you walked, rode rides, went to cafes. Your boyfriend even bought a huge bear for your daughter, she was insanely happy.
- I can't wait to meet my daughter again. - he said when he was seeing you off after work.
- Stop..what? Did you call her your daughter? - you were stunned by his words, because it's only been a month since you introduced Dae Ho to your daughter.
- You know, I got so attached to her that she became like my own daughter to me.
You were happy to meet such a good guy.
Gang No Eul
You've been dating a girl for almost half a year. During all this time, you didn't tell her that you had a daughter, carefully hiding her.
You really wanted to introduce her, but you were afraid that No Eul would not accept the girl, besides, she had an injury, because she lost her daughter and keeps looking for her.
But we all know that the secret becomes obvious.
When you went on a date with her again, she accidentally saw a notification from your daughter on your phone. You had no choice but to tell everything and tell why you were afraid to confess before.
No Eul listened to you attentively, there was no condemnation in her eyes, on the contrary, she looked at you with sympathy.
- I'm sorry that you were afraid to confess because of me and my problems. I really want to get acquainted with your point.

Hey, j! an u do nerdy!Peter and Angel being scared she's using him?
*a/n: nerdy!peter has finally been released from his cage. he missed you all very much.
'and what do you do for him?'
you've been thinking about it for days. peter's softly snoring on your left but you can't sleep, tossing and turning, looking down every so often at your ring finger and feeling the same gut punch you have for the past seventy two hours.
your friend's cousin just moved to new york to follow her dreams, she's nineteen and full of life. she also very innocently asked a question that sent you tumbling down a whirlpool. you all met up for brunch, you even went the extra mile and snuck her a mimosa to show how friendly the city would be to her- but then she had to ask about your ring.
it's a new addition, you just got used to the weight and sparkle but anytime someone asks, you're shoving it in their face and bragging.
'that's a big ass diamond!'
'i know! i couldn't believe it when he asked me... i kept asking him if he was sure.'
of course you had to spill all the proposal details, your friend's cousin awwing at the right moments before doubling down with a congratulations. it was a nice moment that led into other conversations, somehow falling back on rent prices.
'it's fucking crazy out here, i don't know how you guys do it. how much do you pay in rent?' your friend shared her monthly rent, you stayed quiet, her cousin was looking at you for an answer.
'ew. you think i pay rent?' you flashed your ring again, giggles fell around the table, the topic moved on. someone mentioned a restaurant, you chimed in to say it was amazing, that your fiance took you there for your last anniversary.
'god damn, the cheapest thing on the menu is two hundred bucks! i looked it up and a glass of wine was like eighty dollars, that's crazy!'
'hmm... peter splurged on a bottle.' there was a chorus, the girls loved hearing that. you shrugged at your humble brag. when you have a good man, you want everyone to know. little comments got brushed under the table, nothing major until the bill came.
you offered to pay, the two girls with you excited with your generosity. 'ah, don't thank me, it's on peter.' you slid the credit card to the end of the table, your friend's cousin put the final nail in the coffin.
'okay, okay, you gotta tell me. so, he buys for your friends, he pays the rent, he buys you super expensive dinner, you have a rock on your finger... and what do you do for him?' she laughed, your friend laughed, you laughed. it was funny. until you couldn't come up with anything you give him back.
now it's been three days and you're watching peter sleep, feeling more and more guilt creep in by the minute. you don't deserve the things he's given you. you're not sure if curling up to him makes you feel better or not but he's warm and your eyes are finally feeling heavy.
---
'good morning, angel.' peter made you breakfast and while your heart fills with adoration, you have to fight the urge to frown. he does everything for you and you can't even make him breakfast?
'good morning.' you're still tired, you weren't able to sleep in either. rest hasn't come easily to you, peter's been noticing it too. 'i felt you moving around last night.'
'i couldn't sleep. i finally dropped off around three.' you sit at the kitchen counter and rest your head on your hand, peter kisses your forehead, the oven timer goes off. he made cinnamon rolls.
'was anything keeping you up? you've been a little quiet since you had lunch with your friends.' he knows something's off, he's just not prying it out of you yet. 'i don't know, i couldn't get my mind to turn off i guess.'
you're staring at your ring again, peter serves you the middle roll. it's the best one. he splurged on the ring, he pays for the rent, he pays for every date, he buys for your friends, he gives you the middle cinnamon roll and you... and you...
'i know i don't have to tell you this, angel, but just in case... you can tell me anything. even if it's something you don't think i want to hear.' peter's thinking it's something about your friend or work, something that doesn't really pertain to him but if it's weighing on you, it should weigh on him too.
'i know.' you reach for your breakfast, the shine of your diamond stops you. 'how much did you spend on my ring?' peter's looking at your ring too, a sly smile crosses over his face.
'that's for me to know and you to never find out.' he's not saying it because it was cheap, you know it wasn't. you wouldn't care if it was, the fact he got down on one knee and asked you to be his forever was enough to say yes, even if he did it with a ring pop. but you've been scrolling and trying to do your own investigative work and what you've found makes you feel like you don't deserve it.
'how much money do you make every month?' you have an idea but you don't have a specific number and you need a dollar amount. peter looks at you funny, probably because your question came from left field. 'why do you want to know?'
'because i'm going to marry you and i want to know your finances.' it's a cheap shot around the truth, peter knows it too. 'alright, well, we'll talk about that when we get there. we haven't even talked about the wedding yet.' you told peter you wanted a couple months to bask in the fiance glow and you'd start planning when you got bored of it, he had no problems with it.
'i think money is a great starting point, how else am i supposed to know our budget?'
'tell me how much you want to spend and i'll let you know if it's possible.' you don't want a numbers game but you'll play. 'ten thousand?'
'yes.'
'twenty?'
'yes.'
he has to draw the line somewhere, you're going to find it. 'fifty?' he laughs through a bite of icing, you feel like you still haven't scraped the barrel. 'if you can find a way to blow fifty grand on a wedding, sure.'
you're not pushing it any further, you have a feeling that no matter what you said, peter would tell you it's doable. it's frustrating and the only thing that eases you is the sweet, sticky pastry in front of you. 'you'd tell me if you were broke, right?'
'hey,' peter puts his cinnamon roll next to yours. 'you've never had to worry about money before, you don't need to now, either. is that what you're worried about? our wedding budget?' it's not but you'll take the bait, you're tired of talking in circles.
you take too much and he'll never admit it.
'yeah.' you're looking at your ring again, you're not hungry anymore.
'don't worry about it, angel.' peter kisses your temple. 'i'll take care of you.' you know he will. that's why you feel so bad.
---
you might not be able to do much but you can pay for dinner.
'i want to go out for dinner.'
peter's on board. 'ooh, date night. whatcha thinking?' you blurt his favorite place, he's extra excited now. 'double yes, six or seven?'
'six thirty?' you think his eyes have stars in them. 'i love when you meet me in the middle. six thirty it is, i'll reserve a table right now.' you grin, your plan is already rolling into motion.
his favorite dinner and when he leasts expects it, you're going to put your card down instead. it'll be your treat tonight. even if it's minor, it'll make you feel better.
at least you thought. dinner was excellent, the conversation was even better- you felt more connected to him tonight than you had in the past week. the second the bill came, you scrambled for it.
'oh, do you want to guess the total?' it's a small game you've both come up with, you each take a guess at the number to see who memorized the prices best. 'nope, i'm paying for this one.'
'cute. pass it over, angel.' he thinks you're playing, you refuse to hand the check back to him.
'it's on me tonight.'
'then pay with my card.' you shake your head, 'i'm using mine. dinner's on me, i mean it.' peter's uncomfortable but he's playing nice in public. 'no. give me the check, please.'
you hold it with a vice grip, he would have to pry it from you. 'i'm paying, peter.'
'no you're not. you don't pay for me, that's my job.' you grit your teeth in frustration before easing into a smile. 'not tonight, petey. let me take over.'
'not happening. give me the check.'
'no. i'm paying.' you won't let him win this one. you need this, you need to feel useful for something. 'angel, seriously, hand it over.'
'no.'
'i always pay, let me see it.' that's more than enough reason to keep it from him. 'exactly, let me get this one this time.' peter looks at you dead on, he's not budging. 'no.'
'you're not paying for this no matter what, peter. i wanted to treat you to dinner and i am.' he sighs, you know he's about to gentle parent you into giving him what he wants but you're prepared for it and you won't give in.
'go ahead and pay for it, i'm just going to send you the money for it.' your mouth parts, you didn't expect that curveball. 'if you do, i'm sending it back. double.'
'i'll block you from sending it back, don't test me.' you buffer in the silence, peter tries to grab the checkbook from your hands, you slide it underneath the table. 'i'm paying and you're not reimbursing me. got it?'
you have your card ready, the second you see the waiter you'll hand it over before peter can think about reaching for his wallet. 'you're not paying and that's final.'
'no, i'm paying and that's-'
'are we ready with the check or do we need some more time?' you grin at the waiter, he came right on time. you hand over the bill and your card, peter's card is outstretched with yours. the waiter looks between the two with an awkward smile, you push yours further out- peter opens his big mouth.
'don't take her card. use mine.'
'i'm capable of buying you a dinner!' your waiter's caught in the middle and on everything in you, you swears he went with peter because he's a man. 'use mine.' your waiter takes peter's card and swiftly leaves the table.
you're defeated. you slump back in your seat with crossed arms.
'i told you i was paying.' he's happy about it. the one thing you thought you could give him, he just took from you. you don't know if you're more mad at him or yourself. you blankly stare at the wall across from you. you stare at it when peter's card is returned, you stare at it as he signs the receipt, you stare at it while he asks if you're ready.
you move in silence. you have nothing positive and nothing negative to say. you feel beat down. 'and what do you do for him?' nothing. not even pay for a god damn dinner. peter swings his arm over your shoulder, you shrug it off a block down.
'wanna get some ice cream?' you shake your head. you don't want to force another expense on him. 'oh c'mon, you love something sweet after dinner. how about that chocolatier place next to the apartment?'
you think he can sense you're upset. 'i'll let you pay. how about that?' he knows you're mad about it and offering you to pay for a cupcake instead of a full blown dinner sounds like he's giving you peanuts.
'can you go to may's?' he looks confused. 'why? what's at may's?'
'hopefully you. unfortunately we live together and i don't want to be around you right now.' you can shut him out of the bedroom but it sucks knowing he's right there... probably doing something for you that he won't let you return the favor on.
'you're kicking me out because i didn't let you pay for dinner? that's a little extreme.' your guilt comes out as anger, it's not his fault but it is. 'no, peter, you're the extreme one. i'm supposed to marry you and you can't even let me buy you dinner? i'm going home, don't follow me.'
of course he's following you. 'this is a really stupid thing to argue over.'
'yeah, it is. so why are you?' if he thinks it's so stupid why wouldn't he just let you pay? couldn't he tell how much you needed it? 'i'm not fighting with you, angel. i just don't know why after five years buying me dinner is a hill you want to die on.'
'because! you, you- ugh! go to may's, i'm done with you.'
peter's been with you long enough he knows when to back off. 'fine. you win. i'll hang with may for a couple hours but i'm not sleeping there.' if he thinks that means anything to you, he has another thing coming. 'i'm locking the bedroom door, you can sleep on the couch.'
'are you-'
'serious? deathly. thanks for dinner, peter.' you made sure to end the argument on how it started, just in case he needed to ask himself how he got in his position. you take off into a small crowd and arrive home by yourself.
the small adrenaline rush you had settled, all you can think about is your fiance. he bought you dinner and you yelled at him. he paid for a meal and you kicked him out of the home he pays rent for. even when you're trying to do the right thing you failed.
you stare at your ring, think of peter's confused face and start crying. once you start, you can't stop. every negative thought and feeling you've harbored comes pouring out- you're nasty and you don't deserve peter.
and you damn well don't deserve his ring. not an expensive one. you're not worthy of it, you've given him nothing in return. turning the hall for your bedroom, you fall on your shared bed and feel worse thinking about how peter bought the new mattress.
he's tailored the last four- basically five years of his life to you and your wants and needs and you can't think of a damn thing you've given in return. you sob, your tears are salty and you're happy peter isn't there, if he was, holding you would make everything worse.
this was a private breakdown, the kind where you feel like you're about to throw up from crying too hard. you gasp for air, the ring on your finger feels choking. you rip it off your finger and slam it down on the nightstand, you can finally breathe. tears are still racing down your cheeks but you can think clear, everything screams that you need to tell your fiance.
you need to tell peter that you're not okay because now you're treating him like he isn't okay. and it's all because of the ring. you can try and cope with everything else but a two carat diamond on your hand was too far. you have the ring but no wifely duties, you just watch peter tend to your every need and feel more and more useless.
it feels good to cry about it. you feel less like a monster. you sniffle and catch yourself tearing up about it over and over, you squeeze your eyes shut- you think you fall asleep crying.
---
the tv is on when you wake up. the bedroom is dark but you can see a peek of light under the door, a soft candance of sound follows with it. peter's home and even though you didn't lock the door, he's respecting your space.
your ring is still on the nightstand. you have to give it back. and apologize to the person you love most. you hesitantly grip the gem in the palm of your hand, it feels heavier than normal, you're not sure if you're doing the right thing.
but you see that peter's still awake and folding the laundry you left in the dryer. you've never felt more sure. you don't deserve the ring. you don't deserve him.
'i thought you were down for the night.' you check the microwave for the time, it's a little after eleven. you're not sure how to tell him, seeing him fold your socks sends a pang to your heart. you hold out your hand, he does it back, your engagement ring falls into his palm.
'i don't want it.'
panic. instant, fucking, panic. 'what do you mean you don't want it? the ring? me? engagement? are you breaking up with me?' peter's chest rises and falls rapidly, all of a sudden your panic is matching his and you're crying again.
'angel, you really need to talk to me right now. why is your ring not on your finger? what does 'i don't want it' mean?' you shake your head, peter's trying to be the calm one but he's failing.
'why the fuck did you give me your ring back?'
you whimper, it sounds like you just got shot. you did the wrong thing. you keep messing up. 'i'm sorry! i'm sorry, i'll just-' you try to take it back, peter's hand closes around it. 'no. you don't give me your ring and tell me you don't want it just to take it back.'
'i didn't mean it, i swear i didn't mean it. i want it back!'
'you meant it enough to give it back! what the hell is happening?' you went too far, you're not sure how to take it all back. 'give me my ring back, peter!' you're fighting with him for it, it's a lost cause but you're not giving up.
'you can't walk up to me after a fight, tell me you don't want the ring and start crying and beg for it back when i question you. no, you're not getting it back.' you're trying to pry his fingers off it, struggling more and more with each passing second.
'you've been weird for the past week. are you getting cold feet? do you want to call off the engagement? i'm at such a loss right now, why the hell would you give me your ring back?' you're in a panic, everything is crumbling at your fingertips.
'because i don't like it!' peter stops fighting as hard, you gasp for air the second it's back on your finger. it feels like a bandaid on the situation but it's better than nothing when you're preparing for war.
'you don't like the ring?' he sounds sad. really, really sad. 'that's okay, angel. i wish you would've said something sooner but we can pick something else out.' you can't let him be this kind when he's sad. the truth has to come out.
you sit next to him on the couch and lay your head on his shoulder, sometimes hard things are easier to say if you're not looking at him.
'i love the ring, peter. i really do. i just don't deserve it.'
even if you missed wearing it for a few minutes, you feel ashamed looking at it. 'why wouldn't you deserve it?' you chew on the inside of your cheek, you don't know how to explain it without him brushing it off. you have real, valid concerns about the future you have with him.
'you're gonna think it's stupid.' you're soft spoken.
peter matches it. 'maybe. but tell me anyway.' you take a deep breath and close your eyes, the story spills out. it starts last week at brunch, you give him the side comments that fell into your internal crisis.
'-and when she asked 'what do you do for him' i couldn't think of one thing. so i kept thinking about it and i don't have anything. i use you, peter. you pay for the rent, you buy me anything i want, you make dinner all the time, you clean the dishes, and you gave me a big ass diamond i don't deserve. i don't deserve you.'
peter leans his head back against the couch, a deep breath follows. 'and when i refused to let you buy me dinner, it was the final straw.' it was a very small, fine straw but he didn't know the load you were carrying- of course it all fell apart right there.
'i want to spend the rest of my life with you. i just don't want you to wake up one day and regret it when you realize i don't do enough in return.' that's the biggest fear you have. the unspoken one that kept haunting you, that one day ten years from now, you'd wake up to an empty house with a pack of divorce papers.
'you're right, angel. i think it's stupid.' you restrain from telling him off, you're glad you did. 'but it doesn't sound stupid to you, so, as the person who asked you to marry them, do you want to hear why i think you deserve it?'
you nod against his shoulder. 'please.'
'because it's you. that's why you deserve it. you have had my back every day for the past five years, like, you're solidly in my corner. and i've never had that from another person before. if i have to cancel something for spider-man, you tell me not to say sorry for it. when i forgot my cheat sheet for my third year midterm, you ditched your class to bring me it. when i was sick a couple months ago, you called out of work to take care of me. when i helped may move in her new furniture, you were there before i was. you pack me lunch every day, with a note and every day when i come home i get greeted with an 'i missed you' and a kiss.'
you hope if you stay quiet he'll keep going. he does.
'that's something i can't repay you for. but i can take care of you and make your life easier, and that makes me feel better about it. you give me a reason to get out of bed in the morning, if anything you deserve a bigger ring.'
peter bragging about you made you feel a lot better. he thinks you give him more than enough, it's just in a different way. 'if we're being honest, the money stuff makes me a little uncomfortable, i feel like you're spending too much on me.'
it was never about the wedding or the ring, it was about how much you think you're really worth. 'that's where all the questions came from?' you nod, peter shifts around, you end up curled in even closer to his side.
'i just don't want you spending more money than you have to just because you think it's your job to provide for me.'
'if we're being honest, i have something to tell you.' your fears are true, you put peter into crippling debt. 'i wasn't sure how to tell you and you were going to find out eventually but... remember that trust fund my parents left for me that i got when i turned twenty one?' it's worse than you thought. he never got one, did he?
'yeah?'
'i don't know why i lied but i got a lot more than i actually told you.' you slowly raised your head up to look at him, he's nervous for your reaction. you're still processing what was said.
'peter, are we rich?' you watch his hand teeter back and forth, your jaw drops open. 'i was stressed out for an entire week about you paying rent and now you're telling me we have money?!'
you gasp, would you be able to accomplish every new yorker's dream? 'do we have house money?' peter corrects you quickly. 'okay, woah, calm down, we're not millionaires... but yes, we do have a down payment on a house money.'
you've been bamboozled. 'then where's the house?'
'wedding first, house second. whatever's leftover from the wedding we can put down on a house.' that made your decision real quick. 'courthouse. i want a three bedroom.'
'we can have a wedding and a three bedroom, i promise. once we get married it becomes our money and we can spend it however we want. but until then it's my money and i'm gonna make sure you get a wedding out of it.' you'll accept it but it still doesn't feel even.
'i just feel bad that you do everything and i barely do anything to repay you.' now that you noticed it you're not sure if you'll be able to notice it. 'what does do everything mean to you?'
'you pay the rent, you pay the bills, you pay for all our dates, you clean the dishes and cook dinner five night out of the week-' you point to the mess in front of you- 'you fold our laundry.'
'we already talked about rent and bills, that conversation is over. i pay for our dates because you buy the groceries, in case you forgot.' you might've. 'if you pay for it when we eat at home, i should pay for it when we go out. the other stuff is household chores, i live here, i should do those things. i make dinner because we have to eat, i clean dishes because they need to get washed, i fold the laundry because half of it is mine. do i really need to tell you how you do way more than me around here?'
it doesn't feel like you do so... 'yes.'
'you wash our sheets once a week and remake the bed, you make the bed every morning, every sunday you plan out our dinners and go shopping. i've never touched our vacuum, actually, i don't think i've ever adjusted a pillow on this couch either. you decorated for christmas and halloween, you're definitely the only one who's ever cleaned the shower and don't think i haven't noticed how since you've moved in i've never, not even once, run out of deodorant or toothpaste. i help with some stuff but you're the one that makes this a home, angel.'
you do all those things. and support peter with everything in you.
you do deserve the ring.
'so i really earned the wifey title?'
'more than earned. you were made for that role... in a non misogynistic way, of course.' you grin, you can't wait to marry him. 'i can't believe i didn't think i did enough. i'm kind of awesome around here, aren't i?'
'you're the reason we're able to run the routine so smoothly, all i do is keep the lights on.' you raise your eyebrows, 'maybe you're the one that doesn't deserve me.'
'you're probably right. that's why i gotta use the free rent ruse to trick you into staying with me.' you play gasp and show off the best piece of jewelry you'll ever be gifted. 'and you trapped me with a diamond.'
'if i keep you focused on the sparkle you won't notice my con man ways.' he must see you lost in the little rainbows. 'well, it's working.'
'good. let me know when it starts to wear off, i'll get you a bigger one.' you know he's joking but you don't want a bigger diamond, you like this one. it's perfect because it's the one he picked out for you.
'you know, sometimes bigger isn't better.'

The art of touch- Simon "Ghost" Riley
--- F!Reader, fluff, friends to lovers, soft!simon --- A/N: I can't see the old requests for some reason so enjoy this mess I made in the meantime
Simon is a quiet man. He's calm and collected—truly the man that most soldiers wish to be. He has confidence on and off the field. There are so many things that he is, but being insecure or nervous about anything off the field or base is not something he can say he has. When he met you, you weren't looking for anything but a friendship. So, it stung to know that the most beautiful girl he had ever seen didn't fancy a date with him. But, like anything in his life, he accepted it, in a "I'm going to get you anyway" kind of way.
It started with him trying to get you to at least say yes to lunch. Something that friends do. Which is normal, totally not a date in his mind. Will definitely tell everyone else that he went on a date though. When the "dates" became frequent, he made sure to invite you to dinner after he had helped you move into the home you bought.
His volunteering to be your handyman was normal by now. He wants to be part of your life in any way you offer. You need to drive an hour away, no problem, he has nothing to do that weekend so he can drive you there. It's not like he doesn't have paperwork waiting for him in his office. He'll complain about it later, but never to your face because he wants to become reliable.
It was something slow, so painfully slow even for him but fuck it, he was very much interested in you. So interested that he forgot about the pretty girls he would occasionally sleep with when he went on missions. He became loyal to the "relationship" you two had in his head. Who needs sex when he has the idea of you and him as a couple?
It was odd, he rarely had pure thoughts when a pretty bird was beside him but with you, he wanted to have them. So he did, he refrained from them and only thought of you for who you are. He could list two hundred things that he loves about you before he lists your body.
For you, keeping him at arm's length was a strategy. Sure he was attractive and all but you wanted something real. Not something that is formed through sex and pleasure. Something that is born of real emotions, something that can be brought up when you get asked where you were when you realised you were in love. The answer should never be in bed

doggy play date —
prompt / request — "that's not even your dog.”
pairing — reader + non idol!dokyeom
word count — 882
genre — fluff
you were a regular at the cafe seokmin worked at. he’s had a crush on you ever since you came in for the first time months ago.
today, he finally worked up the courage to ask you out. except he made a teeny tiny mistake of asking you out on a play date for your dogs instead of a date with just you.
another mistake? he doesn’t even own a dog.
“can i borrow latte?” seokmin asks soonyoung the minute he walks into his friend’s apartment. “my… dog?” soonyoung questions, unsure if he’d heard the question correctly.
“no, your cup of coffee. yes your dog!” seokmin exclaims sarcastically. “but why?” soonyoung furrows his eyebrows.
“i may or may not have set up a date with a girl i met at a cafe,” he starts to explain. “good for you man,” soonyoung grins, patting his shoulder.
“except it’s less of a date for us and more of a play date for our dogs,” seokmin finishes as soonyoung just stares at him blankly.
“so you set up a date for your nonexistent dog,” soonyoung repeats. “i know i sound insane–” seokmin starts. “I’m surprised you didn’t go buy a dog,” soonyoung says.
“can i borrow latte or not?” he sighs. “if it’ll help your love life,” soonyoung smirks a little. “but you owe me big time.” he adds.
a couple days later, you meet at the dog park, letting your dogs get acquainted while you and seokmin sat on the bench, starting to get to know each other.
you start talking about your dogs, asking him questions about latte: when he got her, why’d he choose the name latte, etc.
seokmin felt like he was sweating, trying to come up with lies to answer your questions. he felt bad for lying but he wanted to go out with you so bad that the only way he thought of bonding over you was your pets. well, your real pet and his borrowed dog.
the entire time you chatted, his brain was screaming “that’s not even your dog!!!” at him but he didn’t want to confess his stupid lie just yet.
“hey, a new cafe opened close by if you want to get a quick bite? i hear they have some dog friendly treats so our pups can have something too,” you suggest.
“that sounds like a great idea,” he agrees with a smile.
you walk to the cafe, both of your dogs walking ahead of you on their leashes. your hand brushes against his a few times and seokmin fights the urge to intertwine your fingers.
even after spending nearly two hours at the cafe, neither of you were ready to part just yet.
“you’ve got to be one of the most charming guys I’ve ever gone out with,” you laugh as you walk along the sidewalk, not really having a destination in mind.
“oh so this is a date? i thought this was just a play date for our dogs?” he teases. “you saying you don’t want this to be a date?” you gasp. “no i definitely like the idea of this being a date,” he smiles.
“so much that I’m not ready for it to end,” he admits. “well, we’re not too far from my place… how about a drink? i don’t think latte’s ready to say goodbye either,” you nod towards the two dogs walking ahead.
the dogs run off as soon as you take their leashes off in your apartment while you lead seokmin to your living room.
he takes a seat on your couch while you step into the kitchen to grab two beers.
your conversations continue naturally, your topics going all over the place. neither of you notice it but you keep moving closer to each other.
seokmin brushes a stray hair out of your face, tucking it behind your ear. his eyes glance down at your lips before you lean in, waiting for him to close the gap.
his lips move softly against yours, his hand cradling the back of your head to deepen the kiss. when he hears a bark from the other room, he suddenly remembers what led to his current position.
“okay i really need to confess something before this goes any further,” seokmin sighs, pulling away from your lips.
“uh oh. are you gonna tell me you’re a serial killer?” you tease. “okay it’s not that bad,” he chuckles. “so what’s the confession?” you hum.
“latte isn’t exactly… mine,” he says and you’re silent for a second. “oh my god, you kidnapped a dog? that might be worse than a serial killer,” you gasp.
“what? no! no, no! i didn’t kidnap her, I’m just borrowing her!” he quickly exclaims. “i’ve kinda had a crush on you for months and i fucked up when i asked you out only to make it a play date for our dogs,” he explains sheepishly.
“except you don’t have a dog, apparently,” you say, clearly amused with the situation. “i know, i know. i fucked up,” he sighs.
“it’s okay, i forgive you,” you hum, leaning in close again. “i kinda have a crush on you too. besides, you kidnapped a dog just to take me out on a date,” you tease, kissing him as he groans.
“i didn’t kidnap her!”

**PAST**
“congratulations graduating class of 2017. you did it!”
i grin, standing and joining the rest of my class and tossing my cap in the air. i’m finally free.
family and friends pile onto the football field that held our graduation and i scan the crowds of newly graduated students, looking for my boyfriend. i finally spot him over with his family, whispering with his brothers. i walk over with a wide smile on my face, and watch as his brother, Luke, nudges him, pointing my way. Quinn looks over and smiles back.
“we did it, Quinny!” i cheer when i arrive at his side. he pulls me in by the waist, dipping me into a kiss.
“we did it, pretty girl.” he whispers when we pull away.
“i have amazing news, bubs!” i can’t wait any longer, i’ve kept my secret for the past two months, not wanting to jinx it. but now that my contract is signed and i’m officially moving next month, it’s finally time that i can share the news; i signed a recording contract. Quinn has always been supportive of my dreams, and when i started posting my songs online, he was the one who predicted that i would get signed to a record label. so i know he’ll be excited when he finds out he was right.
“i can’t wait to hear it, babe. but, i have a question first.” Quinn looks towards his family. his brothers bounce on their feet and his parents are talking with mine, but both sets of parents have their eyes on us. when i see them go quiet and smile, my brows furrow in confusion and i tilt my head. but when i look back at Quinn, i understand why.
my boyfriend of three years, since the summer before sophomore year, is bent down on one knee. my eyes grow wide and i watch as he reaches into his pants pocket, pulling out a ring box.
“y/n, these last three years have been the best years of my life. you make me feel like the happiest man in the world when i’m with you.” i tear up. “you’ve been my biggest supporter since the day we met, and i’m so grateful that i get to call you mine. but now, i’d love it if i could call you my wife. will you marry me?”
tears roll down my cheeks and i’m at a loss for words. i can’t say yes. i want to say yes. i want to say yes, so badly. but i’m moving to California next month, and he’ll be staying in Michigan to go play hockey for University of Michigan.
“Quinn. i- i can’t.” his face drops and my heart feels like it’s been shattered into a million little pieces. “i got signed to a record label. i leave for L.A. next month.”
Quinn stands, nodding his head in embarrassment.
“yeah, no, yeah i probably should’ve let you tell me your news first.” he frowns.
“i’m so sorry, Quinny. i- i don’t know what to say. i would say yes, you know if the circumstances were different, i would say yes.” tears still blur my vision, but i can still see him nod.
“yeah, i know.”
**PRESENT**
Quinn and i tried to make it work after that, but our dynamic was off. and i know i bruised his ego a bit too hard for us to make it through. by the time i left for Los Angeles, we were broken up.
now it’s been five years since we broke up, and i still can’t help but think back on our relationship. sure, i’ve gone on dates and had one short-term boyfriend in the past few years, but no one has measured up to Quinn. he was my soulmate and the one who got away. lately, it seems like all i can do is write songs about him and our relationship, and my fans have definitely taken a notice. even now, i’m in my studio, recording a new song and it’s about him.
“he wanted it comfortable, i wanted that pain. he wanted a bride, i was making my own name. chasing that fame. he stayed the same. all of me changed like midnight.”
i finish off the intro and i can hear my producers voice through the speaker in the recording booth.
“that was great, y/n. i think that was the last take that we needed for that one. let’s move onto the first verse.” she says. i nod and hear the beat pick up again.
“my town was a wasteland. full of cages, full of fences. pageant queens and big pretenders. but for some, it was paradise. my boy was a montage. a slow-motion, love potion. jumping off things in the ocean. i broke his heart ‘cause he was nice. he was sunshine, i was midnight rain.”
tears gather in my eyes, pushing to fall, and i attempt to blink them away, but all the blinking does is make them spill over, rolling down my cheeks. the door to the recording booth opens and my producer, Ashley, steps through.
“hey, are you okay?” she asks sweetly, rubbing a hand on my back as i wipe away my tears.
“yeah, it’s just still really hard.” i let out a weak laugh at how pathetic i am. crying over a guy i dated five years ago. “god, i’m so stupid.”
“you’re not stupid, y/n. you made the decision that you thought was best for you at the time. looking back, would you have made the same decision?” in addition to being my producer, Ashley is also my best friend. we’ve actually been friends since eighth grade, and when she graduated college a year ago with her bachelor’s degree in music production, i hired her.
“i- i don’t know. i mean, i love where i ended up, career wise. but i miss him so much, Ash.” i reply. my tears have started to ease, but now i’m stuffed up from crying and can’t record at the moment, so i hang up my headphones on the microphone.
“then, maybe you’re a little stupid.” she jokes. i shake my head, letting out another weak laugh.
“i know what will cheer you up.” she sing-songs. “i have tickets to the Ducks game tonight. let’s go cheer for some hot hockey guys. maybe we’ll even get to embarrass Trevor.”
i smile and nod in agreement. Trevor is another close friend of mine. he’s actually the best friend of Quinn’s brother, Jack. i never met him when he lived in Michigan for USNTDP, but the hockey world is small, so i was only a little surprised when i met him last year at an Anaheim Ducks event and found out he knew the Hughes family.
“okay. let’s go embarrass Trevor.” i tell Ashley. she cheers and we leave the studio, heading back to our apartment to get ready.
**
Ashley and i arrived to the Honda Center about fifteen minutes before warmups started, finding our glass seats and settling in. when the Ducks skate onto the ice and we see Trevor, we jump up and cheer.
“WOOO! GO TREVY!” i scream as he hits the puck in the net for a practice shot, catching his attention. he looks over and laughs, skating over to the glass and banging in front of my face. i laugh and joke- “fancy seeing you here!”
“you guys can try and embarrass me all you want. i’m a shameless man. i’m fueled on your shouts and cheers.” he says, a wide grin on his face.
“who you chirping at tonight?” i ask. Ashley never actually told me who they’re playing against. it’s at that moment that the opposing team skates onto the ice, and i’m frozen in place when i see the Canucks.
“your ex.” Trevor wags his eyebrows before skating off to finish his warmups.
“what the hell, Ashley?” i’m angry, you can tell as much by my voice, and i know she knows why.
“it’s just watching a game, y/n/n. you still love him, it’s not like you don’t watch his games on tv.” she replies, shrugging her shoulders.
“that’s different. he can’t tell i’m watching through the tv. what if he sees me?” i spot him on the ice, talking to one of his team members, and immediately turn to face Ashley, hoping he won’t recognize me. i don’t want him to think i’m pathetic and still in love with him. it’s the truth, but it’s embarrassing enough without him knowing. i’m sure he’s moved on by now.
i’m able to make it through warmups without him noticing me, but i’m not so lucky when the game actually starts. it’s only halfway through the first period when Quinn scores the first goal of the game, and before i can think twice, i’m up on my feet clapping and celebrating.
“WOOO!” i yell, and Ashley laughs at me, teasing me about how i’ll always be an internal WAG. but i let her comments roll of my back and continue to cheer, watching as he stops not far from the glass in front of us, getting hugged by his teammates. “GO QUINNY!”
it’s then that he turns, eyes wide, and i realize i’ve made a grave mistake. my voice plus the nickname has tipped him off. he spots me, and i freeze, my hands mid-clap. i let my hands fall to my sides, and Ashley pulls me back down to my seat by the back of my jacket. Quinn’s gaze stays focused on me, and i give a small wave in return. he raises his hand back at me, and i can tell he’s still shocked to see me but one of his teammates pulls his attention back to the game.
throughout the rest of the game, Quinn continues to glance over towards me, and i regret letting Ash rope me into attending this game. it ends with 4-2, Canucks winning, and i feel bad for Trevor, but i can’t help feeling proud of Quinn. Ashley and i stay in our seats, talking after the teams leave the ice, and i get a text from a number i never thought i would hear from again.
—
From: Huggy Bear 🧸🤍
meet me outside the visitors dressing room please. i think we should talk.
—
the text makes me nervous. is he mad that i was here? did i upset him by being here? by cheering for him? i show the text to Ash and she says she’ll grab an uber home so that she doesn’t impose on our conversation.
i find my way to the visitors dressing room, giving my name to the security to find that Quinn had already informed them i would be coming. i stand in the hallway waiting, looking over every time the dressing room door opens. i sign a few autographs and take some pictures with a few of the players for their girlfriends or sisters while i wait.
it feels like the entire team has left when Quinn finally comes out. i watch him as he steps out, dressed back in his arrival suit.
he looks so good, it’s unfair.
“hey.” he says, walking over to me. “you were at the game.”
“i was.” i tell him, my voice cracking with my emotion. “i’m sorry, i didn’t mean to upset you by coming. i didn’t even-”
“you didn’t upset me.” he cuts me off. i study his face, trying to gauge how he feels. i used to be able to read him easily, and it seems like that talent hasn’t left me. “i was surprised to see you. i’ve never seen you at any of my other games, i kinda just assumed you didn’t care now that we’re… not together.”
“i watch all your games, Quinny.” my voice is barely above a whisper. soft and anxiety ridden.
“you do?” he questions, his voice full of hope.
“yeah. well, every one i can. i’ve even missed events just to stay home and watch. i never stopped caring about you, Q. just because we aren’t together anymore, doesn’t mean i don’t think about you.” i tell him. “a lot.”
“you think about me a lot? you ever write a song about me then?” he teases, but now i’m wondering if he’s ever even listened to any of my songs.
“all of my songs are about you, Quinny.” i confess. “even my new ones.”
“you can’t- you can’t just say that, y/n. i’ll start thinking things that i know aren’t true.” he shakes his head, running a hand through his hair.
“like what?” i look at him with doe eyes, the exact ones i know he loved five years ago.
“like that i might still have a chance with you.” he says lowly. i might regret my next words, but i need to get them off my chest.
“can i confess something?” i ask.
“yeah, of course.” he replies
“if you asked me again, i would say yes.” i tell him. “if i could go back to that day, i would’ve said yes.”
Quinn’s response comes in the form of his lips against mine. his hands hold my face and i press my body closer to his. my reaction is immediate, my lips moving with his. the kiss is slow and sweet, a reconnection of two lovers. he sucks on my bottom lip before his tongue pushes past my lips, slipping against my own. i pull away before the kiss can get too heated.
“will you go to dinner with me?” he asks.
“i’d love to.”
**3 YEARS LATER**
“Q! your bridezilla wants you!”
“Jack Rowden Hughes, i am not a bridezilla!” i scold. the audacity that this boy holds. calling me a bridezilla on my wedding day.
“leave my wife alone, Jack.” Quinn sighs, walking over from across the reception hall.
“yeah. leave his wife alone, Jack.” i tease. sticking my tongue out at him over Quinn’s shoulder. Quinn looks over at me, catching me pulling my tongue back into my mouth.
“you’re such a child.” he sighs, shaking his head at me.
“what does that make you? you just married me.” i ask him.
“i’m not even gonna dignify that with a response.” he replies. i’m laughing when his mom comes over.
“is everything okay, honey? i heard you and Jack arguing.” she says.
“i think everyone in here heard them arguing.” Quinn sighs again.
“hey, at least you know she’s part of the family.” Ellen laughs.
“i’m fine, momma E. Jack was just being annoying. it’s his specialty.” i shrug. Ellen laughs, kissing my cheek before walking away. Quinn takes hold of my hand, pulling me back over to our table, taking a seat and pulling me into his lap.
“what did you want me for, pretty girl?” he asks, wrapping an arm around my waist to hold me steady.
“i just missed you.” i whisper, leaning my forehead against his. he chuckles.
“i was gone for five minutes.” he reminds me.
“i know. but you left me all alone with Jack.” i complain.
“well technically, i left you with Luke. but i feel like i should be apologizing for leaving you with either of them.”
“yes. you should.” i smile.
“how about i apologize to you later? when we get home. i can apologize to you several times.”

Like We Were In Paris
kwon ji-yong x american pop star!reader
summary: you and ji-yong have been dating for a couple years, keeping it under the radar the entire time. you’re both invited to the gala de pièces juanes 2025, and it’s the first time you get to see him perform live
warnings: celeb!reader, implied age gap (reader is like…mid twenties?), whole lot of fluff, basically ji-yong being a simp, taeyang & rosé being captains of the ship, use of y/n, i don’t use tumblr so bare with me while i figure this out. i tried to keep descriptions of the readers outfit vague so you could imagine it to your liking!
word count: 4.1K
nat’s notes: hey y’all! i was convinced into writing a g-dragon fic (by like 3 people). i’m kinda obsessed with this. i had so many ideas while writing it & so im kind of tempted to write more of these two, but i don’t know!! this is my first like… irl person x reader (ive only written one other fic on here lmao) & i am new to g-dragon, bigbang, all that so i kept it pretty current. to me these two are very dancing with our hands tied by taylor swift coded (or just reputation coded), i cant explain why it just makes sense. the divider right below is from enchanthings here on tumblr, and the other one later on….idk its for my wattpad LMAO. anyways i hope you enjoy, and im sorry in advance if you hate it. toodles!
You still remember the first time you met Ji-yong.
You were in need of some inspiration. Working on your fourth album, the intense gaze of your record label, your management, your fans, and your musically gifted peers was crushing you. It seemed to do more harm than good. For weeks, you stared at notebooks and computers and instruments. Your manager tried to get you with various song writers. Nothing worked. So, after some persuasion from your best friend (who knew you better than anyone, having been your best friend since you were kids), you decided to do a vacation. Just you and some required security (per compromise with your team). You decided to go to Seoul, having loved it in the few times you’ve passed through on a tour. The fans there were great; always warm and welcoming and always one of your loudest shows. The culture was breathtaking. It felt like the perfect opportunity.
Your team had found a studio for you to work in. You were only there for a few weeks, but they wanted some hope that you’d come back to America with something. It was week two when you met him. You were walking towards your studio, he was walking out of his. The two of you made eye contact, and you were instantly swarmed with warmth. You didn’t believe in love at first sight (neither did he, to be fair), but you started to question it as you walked past him.
From then on, each of you seemed nosy about the other. He asked his friends who the girl was in the other studio. “Oh! The American! That’s Y/N,” He recognized your name, and now your face. He hadn’t seen you outside of a red carpet or a concert venue photo, so he didn’t recognize you with little-to-no makeup and comfortable clothes. But once it clicked, it clicked. You had asked someone working at the studio about him. They mentioned his name, Kwon Ji-Yong, and you googled him that night in your rental house.
You knew about G-Dragon, the impact he had on K-Pop and the music industry. You had heard a song here and there, but you had never seen him. Not til that day in the studio.
It was a few days until you saw him again. Your schedules just missing each other. Then, one day, your producer was running freakishly late to your meeting time, and Ji-yong was walking out of his own studio. You stood there, more like paced there, tapping wildly on your phone trying to get in contact with your producer, whispering to yourself in frustration.
Ji-yong had the courage to speak up, say hello, and the rest is history. Stories for another time, maybe.
Your friendship eventually blossomed into a relationship, defying all cliches of long distance and the terrors that often comes with it. It helped that he was on hiatus and you had became a professional of staying out of the public eye. You both wanted to keep what you had to yourself. Your teams did, too, but they got less strict as two months eventually became two years. It was on your terms now, when you'd let everyone know about your status, but neither of you had felt ready to let the world in on something so…yours. So peaceful, so effortless, so pure. It was easy, the two of you traveling between South Korea and America to spend time together, or going on vacations together, or just taking quiet retreats into each others homes.
Nobody ever thought of it, either. There was no reason to. Unless they’d been in the studio that day, the media had no way to expect any crossover of America’s Princess and the King of K-Pop. The media would rather gossip about you in relationships with the usual Hollywood celebrities, some of whom were just friends, some you’d never met. Neither of you mind rumors, it kept the media out of your relationship and sometimes they were hilariously ridiculous. So, you let the press talk their talk. You and Ji-yong kept to yourselves, careful on your information you’d share with friends (it was easy for things to be leaked, these days).
When Ji-yong told you he was officially making his comeback to the industry, you were ecstatic for him. You knew how much he loved making music and performing. You also knew, though he’d never admit it, sometimes when he’d sneak to join you on tour, he got a bit jealous watching you sing and dance on stage. He’d watched you collab with numerous artists, tasting just about every genre you could before eventually finding your new sound. It made him sad, some nights, missing that glow you often had instead. But most nights? Most nights he was beaming from behind the stage, watching you do what you loved most. Most people sink in this world, but you? You swam, no, you effortlessly floated in the sea of fame. And it was obvious to anyone around you. Part of what he loved most about you was your creative drive, something he shared. It inspired him, more than you’d ever know.
Ji-yong's comeback had been more than successful, as expected. Throughout your relationship, the two of you had fumbled with varying songs and styles for each other. Oftentimes more playful than not. You guys fueled each other in the best ways. You released your newest album in 2024, and you were about to start your world tour in the early months of 2025. Ji-yong would follow suit, his first solo album in years coming out soon and then starting his own tour.
Both of you were wracked with nerves, spending days in rehearsals, wardrobe tests, photo shoots, traveling all over for various projects. It had been weeks since you’d seen each other. After the holidays you were swimming in press for your new tour. He had been equally busy, filming his show, performing at various shows. You both loved it. You loved your jobs and you loved each others jobs. But even you two would struggle on the days where it’d been long, exhausting, and mentally draining; wanting nothing more than each other’s warmth.
The Gala des Pièces Jaunes, a show that helps collect donations for charity in Paris, had invited both of you to perform, along with other various stars. Little did they know, they had invited the world's most popular secret couple. You had been ecstatic. Not only did you love the message the event had, but you loved the idea of sharing the stage with so many extremely talented artists. Including, your boyfriend.
The night before the show, you had inconspicuously snuck your way towards Ji-yong’s room. You had wanted to get a hotel room together, but knew that you had to be careful with the amount of eyes on both of you this weekend. Still, that didn’t stop you from wondering around until you ended up at his door. With your special knock– each knock a syllable in your names –you waited patiently for him to open up the door to you. His eyes were sparkly, even in the shitty lighting. They always seemed to do that with you.
“Finally,” He breathed, pulling you into the room quickly. You giggled as he used your body to shut the door, his arms around you tightly. You had seen each other, earlier in the day during rehearsals. Pretending like it was your first time meeting him and Taeyang was hell. Pretending you didn’t know their names, pretending Ji-yong didn’t pick out your outfit on FaceTime, and pretending you didn’t want to latch on to him and never let go.
The only people who knew about you two were Young-bae, of course. He and Daesung had known about you for a while now, teasing their friend and bandmate for not telling them right away. The other person was Rosé, who’d been your friend for years and one of your closest friends in the celebrity world, both of you having blown up in popularity around the same time. Both of them seemed equally amused, watching you and Ji-yong try to act nonchalant around the other. Young-bae chuckling as Ji-yong watched your rehearsals in a stunned silence. He knew every song of yours by heart (even the ones from before he met you), and even when trying to act like he didn’t he could feel himself mouthing the words as he watched you and your dancers on the stage. Rosé would wink at you when she’d walk past you, and everytime you almost missed it cause you were too busy watching Ji-yong talking with his team.
But now, the two of you didn’t have to act. You couldn’t stop laughing in awe, Ji-yong smothering your face in feather-light kisses. You held on to him, your face turning pink as he continued his full-blown kiss attack. “I missed you, jagiya, so much.” He muttered against your skin. Finally, he pulled back to look over your face, pressing another kiss to your lips. You melted into his arms, your mind momentarily fuzzy. There was nothing else but him. His hands on your waist, his shirt clutched in your hands, his scent that had became your favorite. Him. Him. Him. It was always him.
“I missed you more,” You whispered, running your fingers through his minty-colored hair. He closed his eyes softly, as if soaking in your touch. Your heart swelled, as it always seemed to do with him. You had never felt this way, not in any of your previous relationships. You had been positive for a while now, Ji-yong was it for you. “Are you excited?” You asked him, tilting your head in curiosity.
He slowly opened his eyes, meeting your soft expression. He loved how you looked at him. It was something you couldn’t hide, not even at rehearsals. He sighed, pulling you by your hand further into the hotel room. “Yes. Nervous, too.” He added. You nod in understanding, he had only performed a few times since the comeback. He loved it after, always, but the nerves had been hard to shake off, even still.
“I’m excited to see you,” You beam, still keeping your fingers interlocked. You hadn’t seen him live, not yet. You had been back in America finishing up your album and starting a press tour at the time, but you always called him right before he went on to give him a final good luck, and you always snuck onto a live stream to watch.
He rolled his eyes shyly, leaning his head into your neck. “Young-bae is going to make so much fun of me.”
“Why?”
“Cause I’m more nervous for you to see my performance than I was at MAMA.”
You laughed at that, bringing his face into your hands and looking at him. “You’re going to be amazing. More than amazing. You’re going to be perfect.” You reassure him, leaning in to kiss his lips softly. “And I am not afraid to bully Young-bae,” He laughed at this, throwing his head back slightly. He knew it was true, your friendship with Taeyang almost too sibling-like, to the point you two teased each other about everything.
“Are you nervous at all?” He asks you, looking over your expression, as if he’s trying to find your answer in your gaze. He did this a lot, knowing you for so long he began to pick up on things, even before you did.
“I am, but only a little,” You decide finally. It was a short set, only a few songs to perform. You had picked your most popular hits and your newest single for the setlist. And your outfit was your favorite part, matching your dancers whilst still making sure you stood out and felt confident. “Oh! I have to tell you about this thing I saw.” You pulled out of his arms, suddenly distracted by something you wanted to tell him about when you were in your room.
Ji-yong watched you quietly. His eyes filled with a lightness and admiration. He listened to you talk as you grabbed a water, waving your arms wildly to dramatize the story. He smiled, leaning against the couch in his room as he thought about how much he loved you. He loved everything about you. From the way you talked about your passions to the way you scrunched your face when you ate something you didn’t like. He loved the way you danced in the car when your favorite song came on. He loved the way you loved the people around you. He loved the way you waltzed into his heart like it was your home, and wrapped your arms around him like you were his home. You are his home, he’s sure of that. Even now, as you ramble into near nonsense about something he has no understanding of. He still watched you like you had been the most beautiful work of art he’d discovered. He was certain that was true.
Le Gala des Pièces was in full swing. Everything was going well, perfect, all of it. And you were backstage, getting your makeup touched up as you saw someone walk past your open door. You recognized him instantly, you always did. And part of you couldn’t let him go on stage without a final goodbye. “I’ll be right back!” You pushed yourself out of your chair, rushing after him. You could see him walking through the hall, too busy with his own thoughts to notice you coming to grab his wrist.
Ji-yong felt your touch, his head moving so fast he swore he heard a crack. His eyes met yours instantly, then looked you over in surprise. He hadn’t seen your outfit yet. It complimented his, something he wasn’t sure if you had done on purpose or not. A black and red outfit, the red the exact same shade as his tie. As he looked you over, you could see the different emotions flicker on his face. Admiration, lust, maybe hunger, and love. He looked up at your face again, smiling, “Hi, Y/N,” His name feels unfamiliar on his tongue, now. Over the years, nicknames had become your normal. Another thing to add to the list of things you hated about pretending you didn’t know him.
Your mouth hung open for a moment as you looked at him. You hadn’t been sure if you’d see him before he went on, so you hadn’t exactly planned your choice of words. “I wanted to wish you luck,” You stuttered out, suddenly aware of how many eyes could be on the two of you.
Ji-yong’s eyes were laced with amusement, seeing your cheeks turned pink. “I have to grab something to drink, come with me?” He asked, playing it as cool and casual as humanly possible. You itched to reach for his hand, but kept to yourself as you followed him.
As soon as you were in a dark corner, away from prying eyes, he was on you. The two of you pressed your lips together like perfect puzzle pieces. Your hands roamed his chest as his roamed your waist. You hummed happily, wishing this moment with him would never end. Adrenaline, nerves, excitement all were running high. From the show, from being around each other, from sneaking around. You felt his hands squeeze your hips, the two of you forcing yourselves to pull away. You smiled up at him, almost dizzy from him simply being in front of you. “Good luck,” You beamed.
“Is that how you wish everybody good luck?” He asks playfully. You rolled your eyes, smacking his chest as you adjusted yourselves. “I’ll see you as soon as I’m done,” He leans to kiss you again, “I love you,”
“I love you more,” You winked as he sauntered off towards where his team was waiting for him. You stayed back a moment, blushing wildly and hopping in place happily before rushing back to your own people.
You watched from backstage, wrapping yourself in a black robe to hide yourself as much as you could from the crew around you. You had passed Taeyang, who gave you a subtle handshake as he passed by for his cue. You watched in awe, seeing Ji-yong, no, G-Dragon on that stage. Seeing him do it all in person…it was ethereal. The way he moved through the stage and carried himself with this aura. He was almost mesmerizing, distracting you from the chaos backstage and your own nerves. It didn’t shock you, you’d known forever how talented he was. You’d seen videos of him from before you met, you’d seen him work for hours upon hours in studios, and you’d seen him on set for his music videos. But this was different. This was really him. This was what he was born to do, if destiny and fate were real. This was exactly that.
“Hey, pretty,” You turned your head to Rosé, Rosie, who only smiled knowingly. She linked her arm with yours, leaning into you. “You happy?”
“Happiest,” You answered, “He’s so good.”
“He is.” Rosie agreed. She giggled at your face. The two of you had met years ago, you had blown up in the music scene shortly after Blackpink. The two of you crossed paths at an event, not knowing anyone else there, and you two stuck by each others sides much like you were now. You two had been closest friends. When you told her about your first date with Ji-yong, she was ecstatic. She knew Ji-yong, and she knew that he’d be good to you. She wanted you to be happy, and that's what you were. Always when it came to Ji-yong, you were the happiest person she'd seen.
You watched the rest of his set. You smiled giddily as he and Taeyang performed together. You bit your thumb nail as you watched him move around the stage in the second outfit with the sparkling black jacket. Rosie nudging you every time she noticed you blush.
When he was off the stage, he had found you waiting for him amidst the crowd of people. He smiled happily, reaching you without much thought about anyone else. His arms swooped you in, hugging you tightly. You laughed, hugging him back. “That was amazing!” You beamed. For a moment, the two of you forgot where you were. Forgetting the curious eyes who thought you barely knew each other. When your senses kicked in, he was quick to put you back at a friendly distance. Your gaze moved to Taeyang, “You guys are phenomenal!” You hugged Young-bae too, hoping that if you acted friendly with everyone it wouldn’t cause more suspicion. “Thank you,” Ji-yong muttered, suddenly shy again. He bowed quickly at you, trying to play it off. In moments, you were hearing your name called, and his own team was surrounding him. You smiled warmly, disappearing in the crowd of crew and stars.
Ji-yong wanted to keep close to you. He wanted to wrap you up in his arms until the very moment you were on stage, but that was impossible. You were back in your greenroom, getting makeup and hair touched up, and then you were taking photos with crew members and doing more vocal warm ups. You were being whisked around every which way. He and Young-bae were staying close together, feeling the most comfortable with each other as they simply watched the show continue.
Young-bae was smiling to himself. He had been so happy for Ji-yong when he introduced you to him and Daesung. It was blatantly obvious to see how happy you made him. You made Ji-yong smile at every moment, you'd giggle at his jokes (even if Young-bae didn't think they were that funny), you would help him if you noticed his hesitation. You encouraged him. You built him up. You even started secretly learning Korean, calling Young-bae for help every now and again. The next time you visited Ji-yong, you had managed to say your first sentence in Korean, and it was actually good. You were this ray of sunshine. Anyone who knew the two of you knew that. He was honored to be in on your guys’s little secret. Otherwise, he’d feel cheated out of watching two people he cared about falling in love.
Unfortunately, Ji-yong didn’t get a chance to see you before you were whisked away under the stage to make your entrance. Still, he watched quietly from backstage. He clasped his hands together, watching the crowd scream with anticipation as your intro started. Fog began to cover the stage, the lights flashing every which way with the music. Your dancers surrounded the area you’d rise from. Once you did, you immediately went into the first song, dancing on every note. The crowd was wild. Ji-yong smiled proudly. On stage you were someone else entirely. You were confident, you moved with ease and exact precision. Your body moved with your dancers, most you’ve known for years. Their hands grazing your hips as you all moved together in sync. Ji-yong never got jealous, knowing how these things worked. He was no stranger to any of it.
He’d seen you perform, maybe a hundred times now, and yet it never got old. As the song transitioned to another popular track, the crowd somehow getting even louder, he thought about how you might’ve looked earlier. Standing in the same spot, only a short time ago. He could only assume you looked much like he did now. Body swaying to the familiar music, mouthing the words, eyes sparkling at him like he had hung the moon and the stars only for you. He wasn’t sure what he did to get so lucky.
He clapped as the crowd did. You were at the far end of the stage now, dancing with another male dancer to the third song. The song had been written for him, though not many people knew that other than you and him. A romantically charged song. It was one of his favorites. He remembered the day you showed it to him, all shy and quiet, which was unusual for you. You had told him you had a song to show him, wanting to release it as a single in the future. When you played it, you only stared at his face while he stared at the computer screen. He considered marrying you right there.
As you performed your fourth and final song, he found his way to where you’d end up off stage. He played with his sleeves, smiling shyly as people greeted him as they passed by. He wanted to see you. No, he needed to see you.
And he did. You came off the stage, glistening from glitter and sweat. You hugged your dancers and thanked them, high-fiving other members of your crew. As your eyes met his, he could see them light up. But you stayed put, not wanting to make another scene. He winked at you, moving in the direction of your greenroom.
It took you a couple minutes to get your micpack off and head towards your dressing room to change. Once you did, you smiled wide at the man waiting inside. “We did it!” You beamed as you jumped at him. He caught you easily, swinging you loosely in his arms as you pressed your lips against his. It wasn’t rushed or adrenaline-filled like before. This was softer, still full of energy, but only relief, love, and pure joy. “We fucking nailed it, baby,” You said as you looked up at him. He swore he might die from the way you love him.
“You were beautiful,” He hummed, leaning into your hair. He hummed, squeezing you tighter. “I love you. So fucking much.”
You closed your eyes, taking in the moment as best as you could. There was no place on this planet you loved more than being in his embrace. You could be anywhere, at any time, anything could be happening, and all you’d want is him. That’s all you’d ever need, The lazy mornings in your LA home where you’d surprise him with breakfast in bed. The romantic nights in Seoul where he’d take you out to dinner at your favorite place. The bustling mornings when one of you had a meeting to get to. One of you having a mouth full of toast trying to run out the door, only to scramble back to give the other a kiss. Late nights in studios, falling asleep in random spots as you tried to come up with new lyrics and beats. Your favorites were the quiet nights, the two of you tangled in bed sheets as he stared at each other, talking about whatever came to mind as one of you played with the others hair, or traced shapes on bare skin. Gentle kisses passed back and forth. Life was perfect, and he was perfect.
“I love you, Ji,” You whispered, kissing him again. He hummed into it, smiling. You looked him over appreciatively, fiddling with his outfit. “I need to change, wanna pick my outfit out for me?” You asked, raising a brow. His eyes flicked with mischief as he looked back at the rack of clothes you had. He looked back at you, pulling you back into him again.

NONSENSE PT 2 (pt 3 out)
Despite the surprise guest, your first date with Shinsou goes better than you thought
Fluff, First date, No quirk!au
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You spend the rest of your shift in a state of shock and excitement.
It was pure luck that you and Shinsou had met like this, and pure luck that it was on a day where he wasn’t at work. You consider going back home to change, but a FaceTime with your friend Mina assured you your outfit was cute enough, a simple pair of jeans and shirt. A quick freshening up in the toilet, wiping the mascara under your eyes and applying emergency lip gloss, and you’re ready to go.
The end of your shift can’t come soon enough. You step out to the front where Tokoyami is closing up and call out to him. You hold your arms out and do a spin.
“How do I look?”
Tokoyami gives you an amused glance. He throws the towel in his hand over his shoulder, nodding. “Good. Where are you taking him?”
You hop onto the counter, legs swinging beneath you, and watch the last few customers trickle out the door.
“The arcade, probably. Best way to judge a guy is to see how well he takes getting beat in air hockey.”
Tokiyami snorts a laugh. “Right. He likes books, by the way. He’s always in that shop down the street if you wanna take him there.”
God, he couldn't get any better. This is nothing like your usual luck with guys. Shinsou is perfect. You’re sure it’s the hopeless romantic in you that’s ignoring the fact you’ve never actually been out with him before and you’ve only been talking for a few weeks, but everything else about him has been amazing.
He’s funny, he’s kind. He helps you with all your annoying tech problems but never makes you feel stupid about it. Shinsou sends you goodnight texts and blesses your mornings with pictures of his cat. It’s only an extra plus that he’s so attractive. Soft, wavy purple hair that fits perfectly against the paleness of his skin, the lazy, languid way he’d been staring at you at the counter burned into the back of your mind. And his voice was hot, too. Especially when he calls you late at night, sleep lacing his words, rumbling them in the back of his throat.
Of course, you are nervous. Sort of shitting yourself, actually. You nearly bite your lip raw as you worry about it all day. What if he thought you were ugly in person? Or that your walk was weird? You argue that he wouldn’t have agreed to the date if he thought so, but. Insecurities do what they will.
You nudge Tokoyami with your foot and he pushes you away. “I’m scared, Toki. Give me advice.”
Tokoyami huffs. “Advice? You want dating advice from me?”
You roll your eyes. “Not dating advice. Shinsou advice.”
Tokoyami shrugs. You watch the steam hiss out the coffee machine and you push the bin over so he can toss away an empty cup.
“I don’t know. I’m assuming you're the girl he’s been talking to for the past few weeks?”
You nod.
“Well, he likes you. Hasn’t stopped talking about you, actually.”
You beam. “Really?”
“Really.” He says. “A little too much actually.”
“Oh.”
“What I mean to say is, he likes you a lot, so you don’t have anything to worry about.”
Your shoulders relax a little. Tokoyaki moves into the back, and you stay out front, eyes obsessively scanning the front door. The walls of the shop are all glass so you’ll see him coming from a mile away, but you want to make sure you see him before he sees you. You’d agreed to meet at five in the evening, and when the clock ticks 5:01 you’re already panicking.
And then you see him. A blurry figure from this far, but you can make out the purple from a mile away. It’s also from a mile away, that you can see the little human that’s walking alongside him.
You sit up straighter, lean forward. Are you seeing things? You decide you are definitely not, because the closer he gets the easier you can make out the small child by his side. She’s cute, long hair that brushes the small of her back, big wide eyes blinking towards you as she rambles on about something you can’t hear.
The door chimes as they walk in and Shinsou looks nervous, holding it open for the girl to walk in first. She sits down gingerly on one of the tables and Shinsou walks over to you. At least he looks good. A crewneck and baggy jeans that he’s folded over his trainers. He rests his elbows on the counter and you mimic his stance.
“So.” You point to the girl. “Is it mine?”
Shinsou snorts, the anxious look on his face disappearing for a second. “Yes. She looks just like you, doesn’t she?”
“Mhm. She’s very cute. Was I supposed to bring a plus one, too?”
He groans, covering his face with his hands. The chain he’s wearing dangles as he does so.
“I’m so sorry. My dad had to go into work last minute so I’m stuck on babysitting duty. He told me like, ten minutes ago.”
“Okay.”
“But I didn’t want to cancel. I really wanted to see you. So I just thought, maybe we could bring her along?”
He looks so hopeful and so cute that you’re sure if he’d brought an ex girlfriend along you’d have said yes.
“Yeah, no, don't worry about it. I was going to take us to the arcade anyway, so she should be fine there.” You smile
His head drops forward for a second before he’s grabbing your hands and squeezing once. “Thank you, submission girl. Eri, come over here.”
You hope the heat on your face isn’t visible, and you try to ignore how the feeling of his hands still linger against your palms. He calls Eri over and he lifts her up easily, sitting her on the counter. Her little hand clutches his jumper, hiding in his chest and your heart clenches.
You smile at her. “Hiya. I’m Y/N. I love your dress.”
“Thanks. I like your hair.” She reaches forward and tangles a finger in it.
You lean a little closer and she leans in too. “I love yours more. The colour is so pretty. Even better than Shinsou’s.”
She giggles and you feel like you’ve won the lottery. Shinsou puts her back down on the floor as you walk around the counter. Eri fiddles with the sugar packets on the side and Shinsou leans down, the spicy, sharp scent of his cologne filling your nose.
“I’ll take you on a date without her after this. Promise”.
You raise your eyebrows at him. “I’ll hold you to that.”
It turns out Shinsou can drive, and you have to hold your armrest to ground yourself when he puts his arm around the back of your seat to reverse out of the parking spot. You eye Eri in the back, watching her kick her feet in the bright pink parking seat. You spend most of the ride flicking through his CD collection and arguing whether Radiohead is overrated or not. You vote that it is, and he tells you he’s about two seconds from crashing his car if you don’t change your mind. The October weather is cool, and a cold breeze blows in from the rolled down windows. You shiver slightly, the last few rays of sun not doing much to warm you up. Maybe just a t-shirt wasn’t the best plan.
Shinsou notices you out of the corner of his eyes and he reaches behind him to the backseat, struggling for a second before dropping a hoodie in your lap.
“Here, take this.”
You smile slightly. “I’m fine.” “Just wear it, I can tell you're cold.”
You don’t argue too much because you are cold, and the hoodie is warm and soft and oversized enough that you can pull the sleeves over your cold fingers. Eri nods along to the Smiths song blaring on the radio.
“Aw, she's so cute. I didn’t know you had a little sister.”
Shinsou shrugs. “Yeah, she’s my only sibling. The fourteen year age gap is less of a problem than I thought it’d be.”
He parks the car and you hop out to go grab Eri. You open the door for her and she thanks you politely, jumping down onto the pavement, her sneakers lighting up with each step she takes. Your hand covers your mouth, and you place a hand on Shinsou’s arm.
“Oh my god. I love her. I want one.” You sigh.
Shinsou locks his fingers around yours and tugs you forward. “It’s only the first date, submission girl. All in due time.”
You try to argue that you weren’t propositioning him on your first date but Eri runs and pulls his other sleeve.
“Can we get slushys?” She asks, trying to drag him towards the arcade.
“Okay, okay. We can, get off my sleeve.” He shakes her off as she squeals, dashing off to the entrance.
Riley’s is one of the most popular places in town. It has a bowling alley on one floor and an arcade on the other, a cheap and cheaper option for people to hang out in. It had tooth-rotting slushys that stained your tongue and popcorn that had staled in the machines years ago, but you loved every bit of it. The constant noise and the smell of that antiseptic they sprayed in the shoes always filled you with nostalgia, and your excitement only grows as you get closer.
You swing your arm where Shinsou has the two of you linked at the pinkies.
“I’m going to obliterate you at air hockey, you know that?”
Shinsou barks out a laugh, and for the first time you see a little spark of competitiveness in his eyes.
“I love your confidence, sweetheart.”
“It’s not confidence, it's fact. I come here way more often than I should.” You say, walking in as he holds the door open for you.
“Same here. Denki’s friend works the counter so he gets us bowling games for free.” Shinsou sticks his tongue out at you and you huff.
“That’s not fair! Give me Denki’s number.”
“Hell no.” Shinsou scoffs, and you revel in the little flicker of jealousy on his face.
“Fine. I’ll guess I’ll just pay like a loser.”
The two of you argue at the card machine, but he ultimately succeeds in shoving you away so he can pay for all the tokens. You walk around with Eri, her tiny hand in yours, deciding what games you want to play. Shinsou appears behind you two as you both stop at one of the basketball games. Shinsou sighs.
“Eri, you’re too short. We’ve been over this a hundred times.”
She pouts. “But I wanna play.”
The steady noise of the machines around you has Shinsou squatting down to hear her properly. The two bicker amongst themselves for a minute before you suddenly get an idea.
“Hey, I know. Why don’t Eri and I team up? Girls vs Boys. I’ll carry you and you can throw the balls in.” You suggest and she lights up, throwing herself on you.
“Yes!”
You laugh, hoisting her onto your hip. “We got this!”
She giggles and Shinsou slips in two tokens in the machine, shaking his head. The machine counts you both down and when it hits zero the basketballs drop in front of you. Eri is not the fastest ever, and she’s laughing so much that every time she grabs a ball it takes her about ten seconds to actually throw it. Shinsou, who you notice is very slowly throwing and sinking almost every shot, has an easy win in his pocket.
The flashing lights signal his victory. You frown. “Sorry, Eri. You did good though!”
“It’s not fair. Shinsou plays basketball so he’s better than me.”
You both shoot him a glare, but you’re more looking at his rolled up sleeves and the bracelets you didn’t notice he had on. He seems to have caught you staring because he grins, grabbing Eri and plopping her down on the floor.
“What can I say? I’m a professional.” Eri grabs a token out of his pocket and stalks off to the next machine.
You roll your eyes. “Who knew the nerdy computer guy could shoot?”
He smirks, coming to walk up beside you. “There’s lots of things you don’t know about me.”
“Like?”
“I’m really good at the Mario kart game.”
You dig your own hand in his pocket, red dusting his face as you lean in a little closer than you probably should be.
“You buy me a blue slush when I win.”
“If.”
“When.”
He grabs the tokens out of your hand. “You’re on.”
Eri stands dutifully to the side as the two of you sit down in the obscenely red racing chairs. She’s awfully well behaved for a six year old, you think.
You and Shinsou bicker over who gets Yoshi, trash talk as you equip your cars. He leans into your picture when the crappy arcade camera turns on and you stick your hand in front of his face for his.
“Okay. There’s a lot on the line here.” You speak solemnly and he laughs.
“Yes, yes. Those blue slushies are just so valuable.”
You fan him away with your hand. “Shut up, don’t mess me up.”
You weren’t lying before. You really were quite good at Mario kart. You couldn’t even try to count how many times you and your siblings had played it, and the amount of times that you had all cried and argued over it. Your practice seems to have paid off, because after a tense match which definitely included Shinsou trying to reach over and knock your wheel around, you win.
“Yes!” You yell as a bright golden one flashes on your screen, and Shinsou groans.
“No fair! You- It’s because I didn’t have Yoshi.” He grumbles and you just cheer again.
“Come on, Eri. Shinsou owes us slushies!”
You take her to one of the booths in the dining area. She sits across from you and you drum your fingers against the table. It’s silent for all of a few seconds before Eri speaks up.
“Are you Shinsou’s girlfriend?”
Your blush, shaking your head. “No! No, we’re just- No, he’s not my girl- I mean, he’s not my boyfriend.”
“But you’re the girl that’s always talking to him on the phone. I know your voice.”
You nod slowly. “Does. Does he talk about me?”
You feel a little sneaky asking her these questions, but. It’s fine. It’s not like Shinsou will know.
“Not to me. But I hear him telling Toki about you when we go get coffee.”
“Right. Does he like me, do you think?”
Eri taps her feet against the leg of the table and they glow against the floor. “Yeah. He gets all smiley when he’s talking about you.”
You try not to make it too obvious how her words affect you. Your conversation is cut short at Shinsou’s arrival, and the smell of fries fill your nose as he places them in front of you all. Once you’ve all eaten and licked the salt off your fingers, you make your rounds on all the games until Shinsou’s pockets empty.
The air hockey game is tense. Eri stands on your side, cheering you on, and the hum of the machine and the clink of the puck hitting the sides of the machine spur you on. Shinsou ends up winning by only one point, and it’s your turn to blame it on anything but yourself.
“You cheated.” You scowl.
“Aw, don’t be a sore loser.”
“Actually, I let you win. Yeah.”
He squeezes your shoulder. “Sure. Whatever makes you feel better.”
There’s only one token left by the end of your night, and you point at the machine you’d been eyeing since you’d walked in. It’s very common knowledge that the claw machine is the easiest way for these places to scam you, but you don’t care. The selection today are teddys bears in bright colours with ugly faces, and you’re ready to spend all your money to leave with one.
You lean your head against the glass, looking inside. “Shinsou, can you win me a teddy bear?”
Shinsou’s eyebrows furrow. He comes to stand next to you, peering over your shoulder. “A teddy bear?”
“Yes. I’d like to commemorate this date with an ugly little bear.” You step back and gesture to the joystick.
“Come on! We believe in you! Right, Eri?”
“Yes! Go, Toshi!” She yells.
Shinsou mumbles something under his breath. “Alright, fine.” He holds up the last token. “I'm Not spending any more on this.”
The first try doesn’t work. You all watch as the claw slips underneath the pink one he has his eyes on and he curses. He darts to Eri and holds up a finger in her face.
“Don’t say that word.”
The second try goes slightly better. He hooks it just underneath the arms but the teddy only moves slightly before the claw slips out its grasp once more. Shinsou bangs his hand on the window.
“Why is this so difficult?”
You sigh. “It has to be. So we pay more.”
Eri frowns too, little fingers tapping at the glass. “Why don’t you get that purple one? It’s sticking up a little.”
Shinsou tilts his head slightly and you can’t help but watch as his face calculates, deft fingers curling around the joystick and carefully angling it above the bear. He presses the bright red button in the middle then reaches out to grab your hand, his other holding Eri’s, and you all watch, letting your excitement grow as the claw shuts around the teddy. It lifts up, up before it drops down into the little space. You all break out into cheers, unaware of the looks some people shoot you. You pull Shinsou into a hug, reaching under quickly to grab it.
“Oh my god! You actually did it!” You grin.
“Oh, don’t act so surprised.” Shinsou’s fake nonchalance is ruined by the dimples on his cheeks at how hard he’s trying to hide his smile.
“Of course I’m not surprised. IT guy hasn’t failed me yet.”
He rolls his eyes, pushing you towards the exit. “Shut up and go.”
Eri decides her name will be Elizabeth. You’re not sure where she’d even heard that name but you agree, the soft fur ticking the inside of your palm and you all get into the car again.
It’s late now, and Shinsou follows the mood with slow soft songs that nearly have you falling asleep against the soft hum of the engine. He knows the way back to your accommodation, and you both talk quietly, complaining about the fact you both have work again tomorrow.
“I’ll keep you company on the phone, if you’d like.”
He nods, avoiding eye contact to smile outside his window. “I’d like that, yeah.”
He parks as close as he can, jogging around to open up your door. You go to leave, but Eri taps urgently against the back of your chair. You grin, opening her door and bending down so she can hug you properly.
“It was very nice meeting you, little lady.”
“It was nice meeting you too.” She leans in, whispering loud enough that Shinsou, watching with a soft look on his face, can hear.
“I think Shinsou is gonna ask you to be his girlfriend now.”
“Alright, Eri, that’s enough, come on.” Shinsou rushes forward quickly, shutting the door and promising her he’ll be back soon.
You giggle at the sight, teddy bear still tucked under your arm. He rolls his eyes at the sight of you smiling at him.
“Don’t even.”
“I didn’t say anything!” “You looked it.” He sighs slightly. His eyes drift down to the hoodie you still have on and you fumble at the hem.
“Oh shit, yeah, your hoodie. Here, hold Elizabeth.” You go to take it off but he stops you, warm fingers plucking yours off it.
“No, it’s fine you- You can keep it. Looks good on you.” You nod, hands dropping to your sides. “Thanks. And thanks for paying for everything.”
“No problem.”
He walks you to the entrance, you arm hooked into his and you fumble in your pockets for your keycard.
“I’m sorry, again. For our interruption.” Shinsou speaks suddenly.
You laugh, turning to face him. “It’s fine, promise. It did you favours, actually. You’re so good with her.”
He brushes you off but you can see a bit of pride on his face. “Well. She is my sister, after all.”
He steps slightly closer. It’s dark out now, and the streetlamps illuminate him with bright lights, showing you how obviously his eyes trail up and down your body.
“Are you free this friday?”
“I should be.”
“Good. I’m taking you out properly, then.”
You should probably say something in reply, but you just nod. You close the distance between you two and his hands come up to grab your waist, beneath the hoodie, thumb sliding over the small sliver of skin exposed by your hip. Shinsou leans lower as you stand on the tips of your toes, hands on his shoulders to brace yourself. He pauses, right as his lips brush against yours with every word he whispers.
“Can I kiss you?”
“Yes, you idiot.”
And he grabs your face so delicately, lips pressing against yours with a gentleness you’ve never been dealt with before. And his shoulders drop, relax like he can finally breathe properly, as his lips move against yours in tandem. Your hands find purchase in his hair and it’s just as soft as you imagined it would be. You make a noise in the back of your throat and he pulls away.
“Okay. Let’s not get too carried away now.” He scolds, thumb brushing against your bottom lip.
You frown. “Can’t you come back to mine after you drop Eri off?” “Y/N, jesus.” He laughs, face flushed and lips shiny from the gloss you have on. You wipe at the corner of his mouth to get rid of it.
“Okay, I need to go before Eri starts freaking out.”
“If you must.” You sigh.
“Bye, submission girl.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take Care Of You
Notes: I have had this in my drafts forever. I am so glad I finally finished it. Send me some requests as I am struggling with ideas on what to write. (Y/F/T - Your Football Team). Reader is a Fem footballer who plays for a Mens team.
Summary: You play for a men's football team in which your team draws against Man United in the FA cup. You and Mason have been dating for 8 months but keeping your relationship a secret. When one of the United players tackle you and cause you a fatal injury will Mason be able to keep his call or will everyone find out about your secret relationship?
Pairings: Mason Mount x Reader
Word Count: 3.2k
Warnings: Fluff, Angst, mentions of injuries and blood. Implied Smut.
I can feel my eyes slowly open as I hear my alarm going off, I quickly reach over to the bedside table and turn it off groaning as the tiredness overwhelmed me. As I let out a stretch I felt a body next to me and all the memories from last night come flooding back. I turn and see Mason giving me a sleepy smile “Last night was incredible” he mutters “you know we are both going to get into the shit for having sex the night before a game if anyone finds out”.
I shake my head and give Mason a lazy kiss “I don’t care it was totally worth it. To be honest I still have plenty of energy for another round” which I give Mason a suggestive wink and bring him closer. I can hear him utter a groan “Umm you are so irresistible Y/N” he says trailing his fingers up and down my body sending shivers down my spine. “But we both have got to play 90 minutes today and I need to be in my best form especially if I gotta play against you”. I hum into Mason knowing he was right and giving him another kiss.
We lay there for another 5 minutes just embracing eachother, Mason reaches over and taps his phone looking at the time and slowly pulls away. “I really need to get going I need to go back to the hotel and get showered and changed and meet the boys before the game.”
“I know I just really don’t you want to leave” I give Mason a pouty face. As Mason gets dressed.
“I know baby I really don’t either, how about after the game I come back here? The boys are travelling back but I can stay here if you are happy with that? We can have tomorrow off together?”
I nod in agreement to Mason and give him another kiss as he leans over me on the bed. “Sounds perfect! I would wish you could luck for today but I don’t really mean it” I joked and shoot Mason a wink.
“I love you baby girl” Mason shoots me a smile as he walks out the door.
“I love you more Mase” I quickly reply so he can hear me.
I hear his car pull away from the driveway and I know I need to get up too. I quickly stretch and make my way into the shower. I look in the mirror see the bright purple hickey on my neck I am going to have fun covering that up I thought. As I get into the shower I let the hot water heat me as I put my head back to rest on the tiles as I let myself relive last night.
Mason and I have been dating for 8 months, it was still relatively new and due to this we wanted to keep it private. We have met eachothers families and a couple of close friends but apart from that we have kept it out of the media. Its been difficult to have to keep sneaking around but we both know its for the best at the moment. I am a professional footballer playing for Y/T/N you play upfront as a striker and are widely known as you are the only girl to play for a mens professional team. Today you have drawn Man United at home in the FA cup, everyone is so excited but you are nervous having to play against Mason, it will be the first time you are not rooting for eachother and will be playing against eachother.
I can feel the nerves hit, it’s a massive game today and it’s the quarter finals. I feel like I have something more to prove being a girl. We are doing the warm ups on the pitch, it’s a nice March afternoon and the sun is shining so I hope luck is on our side.
I can feel the tension in the tunnel, I am jumping up and down and doing my thigh stretches before the game. The captain is shouting words of enthusiasm to try and get us pumped. I can see the Man United team line up next to me. I can see Mason a couple of players down he gives me a little smile and a little wink, which I return with a warm smile. I quickly turn away trying not to blush. That’s when I hear one of the Man United guys shout “Jheez look at that piece of ass” I turn around to notice that it is one of United’s new signings Blaze Pama he is their newly appointment defender. I am used to being sexualised as I am playing in the men’s team but never before from the opposition, I roll my eyes and I can see Mason shoot him a look of disgust but then one of our players steps in “yeah and watch how that piece of ass tear you apart on that field” I quickly mouth a thank you to him which he responds with “we always got your back”. All the team are like my protective brothers they always make sure I am shielded.
I can hear the music and that’s when we walk onto the pitch, we are set up ready for kick off and I feel my eyes drifting to Mason which he catches me staring and gives me a quick funny look in return, I know catching me staring at him has boosted his ego. I just hope I can keep my head in the game.
It gets to half time and I am knackered, maybe Mason was right maybe we shouldn’t of slept together last night. Now I know why they put that rule in place. We are listening to the gaffer give his half time team talk. He turns to me “Y/N you are having the best game! I know you keep getting those little tugs and fowls by that Pama but just ignore him do not let yourself retaliate” I nod my head in agreement I think he has seen how fed up I am getting of the fouled.
Its currently a 0-0 draw, we are impressed that we have not conceded yet. On paper Man United have the better team but we are working so hard. I have had a couple of chances which one of the was cleared right off the line by Onana. I am having one of my best games of the season.
We are out ready for the second half which Pana looks at me across the pitch and licks his lips, I scowl at him and roll my eyes. Mason catches my looks and turns his gaze to see what I am looking at. He walks straight over to Pana “come on leave her alone mate” Pana looks confused at Mase “that’s what we are supposed to be doing! I am getting in her head. Why do you care anyway you fucking it or something?” Mase doesn’t reply and walks away, Pana is new to the team and hasn’t settle in well, Mason wasn’t his biggest fan and after his actions he really hasn’t gone up in his ratings.
The ref’s whistle blows indicating the start of the 2nd half, Pana continues to keep giving me knocks and unnecessary tackles I am trying my best not to retaliate but he is causing it difficult he isn’t playing football he just playing dirty. United score within the first 10 minutes of the second half, great cross from Mason which Højlund buries at the back of the net. Our keeper kicks the ball to me and I place it on the centre stop “come on Boys we can do this!” I shout back in encouragement. United are now on fire after their goal throwing everything at us. They are through on goal which our defender makes an excellent tackle and kicks the ball up field to me, I bring the ball down and keep running. I can see Mason is picking up the pace to keep up with me, that’s when Mason puts his legs out and wins the ball. I topple over the top of his feet and he runs off with the ball. I quickly get up and wipe myself down and run after Mason. The ball is kicked out of play and Mason quickly tuns to me and mouths a “sorry” my heart warms that even playing against me he apologised.
We are now in added on time and we are throwing everything at the ball, we are all having shots just trying to get a sneaky goal. The board goes up and confirms there is only 2 mins of added on time. We get a corner, I am stood on the penalty spot and I can feel my shirt being pulled “come on ref for fuck sake how many times?!” I am shouting, Pama turns to me “shout up you little bitch! You shouldn’t be on the pitch anyway” I turn around and shove him “fuck off will you!” I shout back at Pama I have had enough. The ref blows the whistle and tells us to break it up. I bring my attention back to the corner that is about to be taken.
I am watching the ball the whole way, then in the corner of my eye I see Pama’s studs its too late for me to move out the way and as the ball hits my head his studs connect with the side of my face. I go down screaming in pain. I watch as our players screaming at the ref for a penalty, which the ref confirms its being checked by VAR and then all the players attentions turn to me.
I am still screaming in pain, Mason is already with me “let me look! Let me look” which I can hear the panic in his voice. I put my head up and I can feel the blood running down my face. “hey you are going to be okay yeah” Mason tries to reassure me but he doesn’t sound too convincing, a couple more of our players come over and inspect my face. They all calling for the physios over. Mason walks straight to Pama “What the fuck man!” and shoves Pama, Bruno pulls Mason away straight before it gets heated. “There was no need for that!” he tries to explain to Bruno “he probably has given away a pen!” Mason tries to cover up the fact that he hurt his girl. Bruno tells him to walk away.
Mason walks over to where I am sitting, blood staining the ground. I can feel myself getting light headed from the loss of blood. They are trying to patch me up, but when the physio’s are asking me questions and follow their fingers I cannot do it, I feel so weak from the hit. The physio’s shake their head towards to the captain and I see the worry in Mason’s eyes. I mouth a quick I am okay to him to try and reassure him. I can feel the tears running down my face alongside the blood due to the pain. We can see the ref listening to the piece in his ear which he points to the spot awarding us a penalty and give Pana a red card. I can hear our fans excited about the penalty and giving Pana verbal abuse as he walks off.
“Do you think you can walk?” the physio’s ask. I shake my head “I-I don’t know I can t-try” I reply. I slowly get up with the help of my players and I can see Mason trying to give me space to not make it too obvious we are a couple but his eyes do not leave mine as I walk off the pitch. I am taken straight down the tunnel to get medical attention from our physio’s.
We score the penalty meaning it is taken to penalties. United win on penalties unfortunately. I watch the game from the TV in the medical room. As soon as the game is finished I see my phone buzz. I look down and see a message from Mase:
Mase: How are you feeling? X
Y/N: I have been better.. but considering everything I am doing okay thank you for having my back out there x
Mase: Of course I will always protect you. Did you want to leave tonight if you not feeling great? X
Y/N: Don’t be silly my brother said he will drop me off as I cannot drive but I would love to meet you there. I just want to be in your arms right now xx”
Mase: Okay take it easy and I cannot wait to see that beautiful face. I love you xx
Y/N: I love you too xx
My brother drives me back home once they have stitched me up, the drive was relatively quiet with just my brother chatting about how if he gets hold of Pama he is a dead man which makes me laugh. “Are you sure you don’t want me to stay?” My brother asks as we pull up outside my house. “Thanks for the offer but Mase has come over to look after me so I will be all good”.
“I am glad you got Mason” my brother says giving me cuddle “I know I am a very lucky girl”. I thank him again for driving me home and told him to message me once he is home. He watches me walk inside then slowly drives up the drive way.
Once inside I can hear the TV on low volume and the smell instantly hits me, whatever it is smells amazing. Mason suddenly appears from around the corner, as soon as he sees me he runs across the room and wraps me in his arms. He places a soft kiss to my forehead “how are you doing?” he asks inspecting my scars. I give Mason a small smile “I am just shattered its been a long day. The scar doesn’t hurt too much just my head is really sore”.
Mason gives me another hug “I am so sorry baby come and sit on the sofa. I have put dinner on as I am starving so I am guessing you are too” which I nod in response.
“It smells amazing Mase, I cannot wait to eat that! Well I am guessing a congratulations is in order my semi-finalist!”
“Thank you baby! The boys are so excited. I just wish it didn’t end like that. Pama had not right to do that. Its so far out of order! Wait until he is back in training I am going to give him a peace of my mind, no one hurts my girl.” He places a strand of hair that has fallen out of my messy bun behind my ears and gives me a kiss to my lips, it’s a small soft kiss like he is trying to be careful not to break me.
“Mase he isn’t worth it. I have played up against so many pricks like that before. He thinks because I am girl he needs to assert his dominance. Its not worth it affecting your career just because he is a dickhead. Now come on I am okay that’s the main thing and now I get my sexy boyfriend to look after me”.
The sound of my phone binging takes us out our romantic moment “Jheez someone is popular! Everyone must be so worried about you” Mason says “Yeah my management team released a post confirming I am okay I am guessing this is just the comments from that.” I open up my phone and see all the Instagram comments. I suddenly stop and am wide eyed. Mason looks at me with concern “whats wrong?” he asks. “Well I think our secret is out”. I say passing Mason the phone so he can see the comments for himself.
Your yourusername posted:
Thank you to all the Y/T/N fans today, I am gutted about the result but thank you for cheering us on loud, your support is exceptional. Thank you to all who have messaged regarding the injury, I am all okay just need time and rest. I had 14 stitches along my hairline but I will be making a total recovering and be back playing as soon as possible! As always thank you for being the best fans in the world!
User 1: I cannot believe Pama’s tackle absolutely out of order. No sportsmanship at all!
User 2: I was so worried when Y/N went down with the amount of blood. Glad she is going to make a total recovery.
User 3: Is anyone going to talk about how Mason Mount went straight to Y/N when she went down?
User 4: Yeah and the way he shoved and went off at Pama after the tackle?
User 5: Did anyone else see the replay when Mason tackled Y/N and he mouthed ‘Sorry’ to her? Totally shipping them together 💗
User 6: I love Mason and Y/N together, please tell me its true 🥰
User 7: Give the fans what they want! 🙌
“Well I guess its out in the open now” Mason says shrugging it off.
“I knew playing eachother was going to be an issue” I say with panic in my voice.
“Calm down why are you panicking? You knew they were going to find out eventually and well they seem to be very happy about it. So why don’t we give them exactly what they want?”
It would be nice to have everything out in the open regarding me and Mason, having us a secret has been nice but it is probably time to do the hard launch. Everyone already is assuming so it does make sense. “I think I am ready to be public official with you Mount” Mason gives me the biggest smile and kisses me, this time with urgency and passion. I wince as his hand goes to grab my hair, Mason quickly pulls away “shit I am sorry” he says apologising. “Its fine just a bit delicate for now, we cannot go as hard as we did last night.” I joked.
Mason sends me a wink as he stands up “okay I will go easy on you tonight” he comes back a couple of minutes later with his phone. “what are you doing?” I asked confused. He joins me on the sofa and puts his phone up to us as he is taking a selfie. I quickly hide myself in his chest as I look a mess right now and Mason takes the picture.
“I think its time for the hard launch now” and shows me the picture. It’s a lovely photo, we look settled together and comfortable in eachothers arms. “I love it” I reply. “I love you” Mason replies.
Mason types away on his phone, I get the notification that I have been tagged in a post. Mason posts that picture of us:
You had us all worried there for a minute Y/N/N but I will take the best care of you @your_username. Y/T/N she will be back in no time! 💗💗

Yes this is hella self-indulgent... so self-indulgent in fact that this will be very Northern / Geordie based so apologies in advance my loves <3
This was also inspired by the event of last night for those who were involved in the complete insanity (i love you guys)
The way you spoke was a little bit of a culture shock for Noah, especially with the phrases and sayings that came out of your mouth.
You often had to explain what things meant to him.
Like that “tea” was in fact “dinner” as well as being the beverage.
Or that “pudding” was “desert” and not a type of desert.
Your accent left him puzzled, especially when you called home and your accent became stronger as you spoke to your friends and family.
He did admittedly find your accent attractive however
Being from Newcastle, football was a big part of your life.
You glared at him whenever he called it soccer.
When he visited your family for the first time, your dad was insistent on taking him to the match, so you spent hours teaching him all the chants that he would need to know along with the players names and the general rules of the game.
He really enjoyed it, even though the fans were insane.
You even made your phone wallpaper a photo of you and Noah in the home kit as it had rapidly become your favourite photo of the two of you.
When Bad Omens toured the U.K., you became the unofficial tour guide, showing the guys around and telling them all of the best places to eat before and after shows.
The guys weren’t as used to the rapidly changing weather, especially not the ridiculous amount of wind that you got up north.
Folio even bought himself one of those god awful Adidas tracksuits that you couldn’t go ten feet in England without seeing.
You paid him good money to not wear it.
Matt was obviously sad that you didn’t get raccoons over in the U.K., but he settled for badgers.
Being British in the US was weird.
You often got asked to say certain phrases, or asked if you had ever met various celebrities, which you thought was weird.
Noah loved watching your comfort shows like Friday Night Dinner and the Inbetweeners. So much so that he had began randomly quoting moments from the shows you showed him.
The one thing that he didn’t understand was why there were so many different tea brands, and why there was warfare between people who liked different brands.
You had tried to explain but he wouldn’t listen.
You had even caught him making a fantasy Premier League team on his phone when he thought you weren’t looking.
That was your proudest moment as his girlfriend.
That was until he accidentally spilled boiling water on his finger and let out an extremely loud “BLOODY HELL!”

part 2 release date: tbd
now playing: mind games by sickick
It all started when you met Jake Sim. He was the campus guy—popular with the girls, adored by the professors, the kind of person everyone gravitated towards, but still had the kind, innocent, and nerdy element to him. If there was a charity event, Jake was organizing it. If someone had tech problems, Jake was fixing them. He had this effortless way of making you feel like you were the center of the world when he spoke to you.
You weren't immune to it, either. As a new freshman, you’d heard his name long before you met him. So when you found yourself at a party a month into your first semester trying not to look out of place, Jake was the last person you expected to notice you.
You weren’t even supposed to be at that party. Crowded rooms filled with loud music and drunk strangers weren’t exactly your thing, but your new friend/roommate Ava insisted. She was the kind of girl who thrived in any social setting, the life of the party, effortlessly magnetic, something you learned the first day you moved into your dorm. With her status as an upperclassman, she knew everyone worth knowing and had declared that you had to go to the “first party of the year” because it was “going to be epic.” So, naturally, she dragged you along.
Now you were nursing a watered-down drink in the corner of a house that smelled like cheap beer and vanilla-scented candles. Ava stood beside you, casually pointing out all the people she deemed “important”—guys and girls she seemed to have endless stories about, whether those memories were good, bad, or in between.
“Oh!” she said suddenly, nudging you with her elbow. “That’s Jake Sim over there. Real nice guy, everybody loves him.”
You followed her gaze across the room. He was leaning against the kitchen counter, talking to a group of people who seemed completely captivated by whatever he was saying. Even from a distance, it was easy to see why. He had that kind of face—sharp jawline, warm smile, the perfect amount of confidence in the way he carried himself. His dark hair pushed back slightly over his forehead, like it had been styled that way on purpose.
You nodded without saying anything.
“You know,” Ava smirked, “I feel like he’s been eyeing you across the room for a while.”
You blinked, startled. “No he hasn’t.”
“Oh, he has. He’s doing that thing guys do where they pretend to listen to the conversation but keep glancing at you like you’re the main event.”
And who’s to say you weren’t the main event? Sure, this was your first official college party and the atmosphere felt a little out of your comfort zone, but it’s not like you spent your whole life as some awkward wallflower. You’re hot and you have what it takes to make men gawk and stop to stare at you on the streets. Even if you were oblivious about it. Even if you didn’t care. Plus you were a new, young face to the campus. And what do college boys with raging hormones love more than some new, hot, fresh meat?
You rolled your eyes, trying to brush it off. I mean, yeah, Jake was cute, but you weren’t going to entertain the idea of him eye fucking you across the room from your very tipsy friend who definitely should take it slow with the alcohol. You came here to accompany your friend, not for some popular boy. And that’s what you were going to do. At least that’s what you told yourself.
You couldn’t help sneaking another glance in his direction. Sure enough, his eyes met yours for probably the hundredth time that night. Your breath caught for half a second as he smiled. Not a quick, polite one, but the kind of cocky and sly smile that made it seem like he knew something you didn’t.
“See?” Ava whispered, “Told you.” Before you could argue, Jake excused himself from his group of drunk friends and started making his way towards you. Your instinct was to bolt, but Ava was quick to grab your arm, holding you in place. “Oh my god, he’s coming over here.”
“Shut up. Don’t make it weird,” you hissed under your breath.
“Me? Never,” she said, but the mischievous glint in her eyes told a different story.
Jake stopped a few feet away, holding a red solo cup in one hand, the other casually tucked into his pocket. “Hey,” he said, his voice so smooth but unassuming that for a second you didn’t know if he was talking to you or Ava, until his eyes eventually met yours. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Jake.”
You hesitated for a moment, your throat dry. But Ava on the other hand, ever the social butterfly, was already beaming with her response. “This is _____. She’s a freshman. And she’s my new roomie.”
“Ah, Jake said, his smile widening as he held out his hand. “Nice to meet you. Freshie huh? Welcome to the chaos. If you ever need a hand settling in, don’t hesitate to ask. I know Ava over here wasn’t exactly the most put-together during her freshman year,” he playfully teased.
Ava rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. “Yeah yeah, whatever,” she replied in defeat. You could tell they shared some history together, though the details weren’t something you cared to uncover at the moment.
You shook his hand, feeling his strong grip and his overwhelming gaze. “Thanks,” you managed to mumble, your voice quieter than you intended.
Ava, clearly delighted, nudged you again before stepping back. “I’m going to find another drink. You two have fun.” She shot you a not so discreet wink, one Jake clearly noticed. He responded with a low, undeniably attractive chuckle that stirred something inside you, something you knew you shouldn’t be feeling.
And just like that, she was gone, leaving you alone with him.
Jake tilted his head slightly, studying you with an intensity that made you want to fidget. “So, what do you think of the party?”
“It’s… loud.”
He chuckled and you awkwardly laughed in return. “Yeah, not really my scene either,” he admitted. “I was actually about to head out. Want to join me? I know a quieter place where we can talk.”
You hesitated, something about his directness caught you off guard. You’d been in similar situations like this before—situations where boys had tried to talk you into following them to their rooms and the like. Now, you weren’t inexperienced when it came to men, but a one night stand with someone you’ve been conversing with for about 45 seconds didn’t seem like something you were interested in at the moment. But that wasn’t what Jake was implying. You could tell he wasn’t like other guys in the past, the ones who were all too eager to make their intentions clear. There was something different about the way he carried himself.
And something different, there definitely was. But we’ll get to that part later.
Jake was patiently waiting for your response while you contemplated. You looked up at him and he smiled again, that disarming, perfect smile, and for a moment, you forgot why you were even questioning it.
“Sure,” you replied, not realizing then that this was the moment that everything in your life would change.
------------------------------
“So,” you asked, glancing out the window at the quiet streets passing by, “where are we?”
Jake gave you a sideways glance, his hand relaxed on the wheel. “Just a spot I like. It’s nice to get away from all the noise sometimes, don’t you think?” His voice was warm, almost teasing, like he already knew you’d agree.
You nodded, leaning back in your seat. “Yeah, I guess.” The party had been a bit much for your taste, and the idea of some quiet didn’t sound half bad. “Do you come here a lot?”
“Not really, I usually only bring people I actually want to talk to.”
Your cheeks warmed at that, and you looked down at your hands, fumbling with the hem of your dress. “Well, that’s nice of you.”
He chuckled softly. “It’s not about being nice. You just seemed different. Thought it might be worth getting to know you better.”
His words caught you off guard, not knowing whether to take it as a compliment or not, but the way he said them felt so genuine, so effortlessly charming, that you couldn’t help but smile. “Different how?”
He shrugged, his eyes flickering to you briefly before returning to the road. “You’re not like everyone else. You’re not trying too hard, you’re just… you. It’s refreshing.”
Even though it sounded so cliché, he wasn’t lying. It’s not like you were trying to be different. I mean, it wasn’t hard for someone like you to stand out from a crowd of drunk girls, definitely trusting their tiny tops and micro shorts way more than they should, especially at a college party, basking in the attention of young, hungry men. But maybe that’s what they wanted. Maybe they want the recognition, the attention. You don’t. Not because you couldn’t pull it off—you could—but you didn’t care to. You weren’t there for the feeling of lingering eyes on you, and that was obvious to anyone paying close enough attention. And Jake paid attention. Oh, he did for sure. The moment you walked in the room, he noticed the way you carried yourself, not chasing the spotlight like others. And also mostly because you weren’t trying to whore yourself out at every given moment like everyone else, girl or guy. But it intrigued him, igniting a flicker of curiosity and a peculiar intent that he’d never felt before in the back of his mind.
You let out a soft laugh, unsure of how to respond. “Well, thanks, I guess.”
Jake’s grin widened. “Don’t mention it.”
As the car slowed and he turned down a quiet street, you realized you weren’t sure where you were, but the thought barely lingered. Something about the way he spoke made it hard to think too much. It felt easy, almost natural, to trust him. And that was the scariest part.
------------------------------
The door clicked shut behind you, and before you even had a chance to set your bag down, Ava was already perched on her bed, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“So,” she grinned, tucking her legs under her, “how was it?”
“How was what?” you asked, feigning oblivion as you drop your bag onto your chair.
Your roommate groaned dramatically, sitting up straighter on her bed. “The date! You leave me in the middle of a party that you were supposed to be my date for, with the most popular guy on campus!”
You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms. “It wasn’t a date. We just… hung out.” You tried your best to sound indifferent, but Ava was already grinning.
“Whatever it was, tell me!” she demanded, practically bouncing on her bed.
“It was... nice,” you replied, trying to sound casual as you kicked off your shoes.
“Nice? That’s all I’m getting? Did you guys talk? Do anything?”
“No, we didn’t do anything. And I didn’t want to anyway. He was very respectful.”
“Of course he was,” Ava said, throwing her hands up like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “I mean, it’s Jake we’re talking about here. The guy’s practically perfect. Teachers love him, girls worship him, and he still manages to have this whole humble, good-guy image.”
You let out a small laugh, shaking your head. “Exactly. Nothing shocking there.”
“Still, I just had a feeling he’d be different with you.”
You froze for a second, glancing at her. “Different? Why?”
“Because I’ve seen how he is with other girls. Trust me, they throw themselves at him all the time, and he’s always so polite about it, but he never seems interested. He doesn’t make the first move. Ever.” She shrugged, as if it were no big deal. “But tonight? He came straight for you.”
You shrugged back, brushing her comment off with a small laugh. “I think you’re reading too much into it. He was just being nice.”
Ava raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced, but she didn’t push further. And you? You kept brushing it off, like you always did.
------------------------------
As you walked back into your shared room after your nightly shower and routine in the bathroom, you glanced over at Ava. “Hey, by the way… what did Jake mean earlier? You know, when he said you ‘weren’t the most put-together’ during your freshman year?”
She just snorts, clearly unbothered by the memory. “Oh, that. Yeah, I was kind of a hot mess back then. Partied a lot, made some questionable choices. But, hey, isn’t that what college is for?”
You chuckled. Makes complete sense, honestly. “I was just curious. For a second, I thought maybe you two had a thing or something.”
“A thing? Well… kind of.”
Your head snapped up.
She shrugged casually, like she was recounting a minor detail. “There was this one party my freshman year. We were playing spin the bottle, and it landed on Jake. So, yeah, we kissed. Or, well, made out. But only once.”
You blinked, not sure how to respond. “Oh. Uh, okay.”
“It wasn’t a big deal, I swear. It was years ago, and neither of us cared enough to make it weird. It’s not like it’s awkward or anything now. We don’t even bring it up.”
You nodded slowly, trying to process the new information. “Got it. Not jealous or anything,” you muttered, mostly to yourself, though the thought does linger for a second. It’s not like you had any claims on Jake, but… still.
“Good. Because honestly, you and Jake? Totally different vibe. I think it’s cute.”
You rolled your eyes, grabbing your water bottle to avoid letting the conversation stretch any further.
------------------------------
A few days later, Jake was leaned back against the couch in his apartment, a half-empty can of soda resting loosely in his hand. His friends were scattered across the room, voices bouncing off the walls as they talked about the usual—classes, campus drama, upcoming events—but his mind was somewhere else entirely.
“So, what’s with you?” Jay, his closest friend, asked, nudging him with his foot from across the coffee table.
Jake blinked, realizing he’d been quiet for too long. “What?”
“You’ve been zoning out for the past five minutes. Let me guess, girl troubles?”
That got the attention of the others. “Girl troubles? Jake Sim?” Sunghoon chimed in, laughing. “Yeah, right.”
Jake shrugged, pretending to be nonchalant, but the small, almost imperceptible grin tugging at his lips gave him away. “It’s not like that.”
“It’s totally like that,” Jay teased. “C’mon, spill.”
He hesitated, running a hand through his hair. “Her name’s _____. I met her at that party the other night.”
“Wait, the one you ditched us for?”
Jake just chuckled and nodded, his gaze dropping to the can in his hand. “Yeah. Her.”
Then Jay let out a low whistle. “Damn, guess I never expected you to be the one to take the lead for once.”
“It’s not about that,” Jake said quickly. “She’s just different. She doesn’t try to stand out, but she does. I don’t know, man. She’s—” He stopped himself, shaking his head with a faint chuckle. “Forget it.”
“No, no, keep going,” Sunghoon pressed, leaning forward. “You’re actually into her, aren’t you?”
Jake didn’t respond, but the way his jaw tensed and his eyes flicked away said enough.
“Wow, well, I mean, good for you, dude. She’s gorgeous. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if half the guys on campus are already trying to get her attention.” Jay implied.
That comment sent an unexpected pang through Jake’s chest. He tried to brush it off, but the thought lingered, other guys noticing you, talking to you, maybe even flirting with you.
“She doesn’t seem like the type to fall for just anyone,” Jake said, though it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself.
“True,” Sunghoon agreed. “But still. She’s new, she’s pretty, and she’s got that whole ‘mystery girl’ vibe going on. Trust me, people are going to notice her.”
Jake forced a laugh, but the unease was already settling in the back of his mind. You didn’t seem like the type to entertain random guys, but the idea of someone else getting too close to you didn’t sit right with him.
The thought stayed with him long after his friends had moved on to another topic. It wasn’t jealousy, he told himself. It was just concern. You were new to campus, probably still finding your footing, and he didn’t want anyone to take advantage of that.
He told himself it was harmless as the idea began to form in his mind. Just checking in on you, making sure you were okay. Not in an overbearing way, of course. You wouldn’t even know. It was just the right thing to do.
And if it gave him peace of mind? Well, that was just a bonus.
That night, Jake sat hunched in front of his glowing PC screen, the only light in his room casting long shadows across his walls. His fingers hovered over the keyboard with an eager sort of precision, scrolling through page after page. What was he looking for? You. Only you.
It wasn’t like him, spending hours like this, completely absorbed in something he couldn’t explain. But there was something about you that was different. Like an itch he couldn’t ignore, let alone resist scratching.
Finding your Instagram hadn’t taken long. A couple of clicks here, a mutual tag there, and suddenly your whole world was laid out before him. Your name. Your face. Your posts. From there, it was a rabbit hole he couldn’t help but dive into. Facebook? Found it. Tumblr? Found it. Pinterest? Of course. Each new profile unlocked a little piece of you, a puzzle he was determined to solve.
Hours passed, and Jake found himself digging deeper, further back into your life than he had any business going. He paused on a blurry group photo from high school, his eyes immediately locking onto you. Awkward braces, a side ponytail, and a shy smile that tugged at something strange in his chest. He chuckled softly to himself, his lips curving into a grin.
“Cute.”
The realization of how long he’d been doing this emerged at the edge of his mind, but he was quick to brush it off. I mean, who doesn’t do this? Everyone stalks their crush. It’s not weird. It’s normal. He was just curious. That’s all.
And yet, even as he closed out one tab and opened another, Jake couldn’t shake the nagging sense that this wasn’t enough. The photos, the posts, the snippets of your life he was piecing together, they still felt distant, impersonal. He wanted more. Needed more.
His hand hovered over the mouse for a moment before he opened Instagram again, pulling up your most recent story. You were out earlier with a friend, walking with a coffee in hand, the city bustling in the background. It was mundane, ordinary. But to him, it was fascinating.
You were almost like an unsolved case to him. Every photo, every caption, every comment was a clue, something to dissect and overanalyze. The way you angled your head in selfies, the way you always seemed to wear rings on your right hand. Did that mean something? Maybe it was just a habit, or maybe it wasn’t. He didn’t know, but the not knowing made him dig deeper. Each little detail was like a breadcrumb leading him further down a path he couldn’t stop following.
It boosted him. Every new discovery sent a thrill rushing through him, like solving the next piece of a complex puzzle. The high school photos, the forgotten Pinterest boards filled with dreamy quotes and wedding décor. He was piecing together a version of you even you didn’t know you’d left behind.
The rational part of him, however, it was there. Buried somewhere, trying to surface, to remind him that this wasn’t normal, that this wasn’t healthy. But the excitement, the adrenaline of knowing so much about you, drowned it out every time. You were fascinating. You were beautiful. And you didn’t even know it, but by leaving that party with him that one night, you were letting him into your world.
It felt intimate. Special. Like he was uncovering the real you, the one hidden behind the edited photos and casual captions. And Jake? Jake couldn’t get enough.
He leaned back in his chair, his eyes flickering to the clock. It was late. Too late to still be sitting here. But he didn’t care. You were under his skin now, in his mind, in his every thought.
And he convinced himself, once again, that this was fine. Perfectly fine. He was just looking. There's nothing wrong with looking.
Right?
He didn’t notice it yet, but he was crossing a line he didn’t realize he was already standing over.
------------------------------
It was a perfectly normal Saturday afternoon. You were at the local grocery store, a basket in hand as you roamed the aisles, debating between two different brands of pasta. The store was buzzing with life. Kids whining for candy, parents arguing over coupons, the hum of soft pop music barely audible over the chatter.
You were zoning out, staring at the shelves, when a familiar voice startled you.
“Hey, fancy seeing you here.”
You turned sharply, and there he was. Jake. Dressed in a simple hoodie and jeans, he looked casual and relaxed, the epitome of “guy next door.”
“Oh. Hey, Jake. What’re you doing here?”
“Grocery shopping, same as you,” he said with a grin. “Though I’ll admit, I didn’t expect to run into you.”
You smiled politely, feeling a little awkward. “Yeah, small world.” And it was then that you realized Jake wasn’t holding a basket or a grocery cart at all. You glanced down at your own, practically overflowing with items, while he stood there empty handed. Maybe he had stopped by to grab something quick.
He glanced at the shelves, his eyes scanning the items before landing back on you. “Pasta night?”
You held up the two boxes in your hands. “Debating between these two. Any recommendations?”
He stepped closer, pretending to study the boxes like it was a life or death decision. “Well, this brand’s sauce clings better,” he said, pointing to one, “but this one’s texture is nicer. Depends on what you’re going for.”
“I didn’t know you were a pasta expert.”
He grinned. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”
And for some reason, that stuck with you. You had this feeling that he was being truthful, but not in a good way. Like there was more to that statement than he was letting on, something hidden beneath the surface. A part of you couldn’t ignore the unease creeping up your spine, but his smile was so convincing, that you pushed the thought aside. Maybe you were overthinking it.
You shook your head, putting one box back and dropping the other into your basket. “Good to know. Maybe next time I’ll consult you for my grocery list.”
He chuckled, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than felt necessary. “I’ll hold you to that.”
The two of you ended up walking through the aisles together, Jake casually slipping into conversation as if this wasn’t entirely coincidental. He asked you about your week, made jokes about the odd products on the shelves, and even recommended a snack or two that he claimed was “life-changing.”
It was easy to forget the awkwardness at first, Jake was good at that. He made people feel comfortable, like you were the only person in the room, even if it was just a crowded grocery store.
But as the conversation went on, little things started to feel… off.
Like how he seemed to know exactly what aisle you were heading to next, always a step ahead, grabbing things you hadn’t even noticed. Or how he mentioned a specific brand of matcha you liked, something you didn’t recall ever telling him.
Or when you turned to grab a few more things, and you noticed Jake picking up items—fruits, snacks, even the same brand of shampoo you had chosen—things that seemed oddly familiar to what you were already grabbing. You glanced back down at your basket to where you noticed Jake running out of room, even in his big arms, that he had casually started to place some of his items in your basket, almost absentmindedly.
At first, it was just a few, but then his arms began to overflow with more things. You couldn’t help but notice how he seemed to be running out of room. His hands were awkwardly balancing a few cans, some fruit, and the bottle of shampoo, all piled up like a small tower. It was kind of cute.
"Uh, you might want to grab a basket," you said, eyeing the growing pile in his arms. "I don’t think you’ll fit everything."
Jake looked down at his arms, then back at you with a slight laugh. “Oh, right. Thanks for the reminder.”
He glanced around awkwardly, like it hadn’t even occurred to him.
I mean that was kind of weird, right? The thought lingered, but you brushed it off as you continued your shopping.
And then there was the moment at checkout.
You were unloading your basket onto the conveyor belt when Jake casually reached for the same brand of chocolate you’d grabbed earlier, dropping it into his basket with a small smile.
“What?” he asked when he noticed your raised brow. “You have good taste.”
It was harmless. But the way he casually mirrored your actions, not just then, but from the moment you saw him in the store, you’ve noticed how it seems like he’s not just casually shopping, but actively observing you and somehow always knows what your next move is.
Maybe you’re just being paranoid. It’s getting late after all, the sun is beginning to set and here you are, with a guy you don’t really know all that well. Of course you’re going to be a little on edge. It’s just womanly instincts.
But as you walked out of the store, bags in hand, and saw him heading in the same direction as you—despite you being certain he lived on the other side of campus—that faint unease crept back in.
“Need help carrying those?” he offered, gesturing to your bags.
You shook your head quickly. “No, I’m good. Thanks, though.”
He nodded, still smiling. “Alright. See you around, then.”
And as you started walking away, you couldn’t shake the feeling that his gaze lingered just a little too long, like a predator waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on their prey. It was subtle, but the intensity of his stare made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, even as his smile never wavered. You tried to dismiss it, telling yourself it was probably just your imagination running wild. After all, it’s Jake. Everyone loves him.
------------------------------
"So, Jake asked about you," Ava said casually as she applied her mascara, sitting across the room.
"Wait, what?" you asked, sitting up from your bed. It was 7 a.m. in the morning, and you had just been jolted awake by your roommate’s loud music blasting from the bathroom a few minutes ago.
"Yeah, said something about how he wants to ask you out. Take you on a real nice date. Then end it off with spreading your legs in the back of his car."
You froze, your heart racing in your chest. “Wait, what.”
Your silence was then followed by laughter. "Oh my god! I’m joking!"
You let out a huge sigh of relief, but then you playfully shot her a look. "Ava, do not play with me like that." But honestly, you were kind of serious too.
She shot you a grin, clearly amused. "Oh, come on, you’re so easy to mess with. But seriously, you know you wished I wasn’t joking.”
You rolled your eyes at Ava’s teasing and went back to scrolling on your phone. “Yeah, okay,” you muttered, not giving it much thought.
“He did actually say something about asking you out, though.”
You paused, glancing up at her again. “Are you messing with me?”
She swore up and down, looking completely sincere. “No, I’m telling you the truth. He said he wanted to take you out for a nice date. That’s what he told me.”
“I still don’t buy it.”
“I swear on everything, I’m not lying!” Ava’s voice was insistent now. “So what’s the deal? You gonna go?”
You hesitated, unsure. “I don’t know…”
“What do you mean, you don’t know?’” Ava scoffed, clearly frustrated. “Girl, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Every girl wants a night out with Jake. You’d be crazy not to go.”
You chewed on your lip, contemplating her words. It's not that you wouldn't enjoy going out with Jake, it's just that something about him still unsettled you. You couldn't quite put your finger on it, but there were moments where the way he looked at you, or the way he seemed to know a little too much about you, made you feel like you were under a microscope. It wasn’t overly creepy, but there was an underlying tension that you couldn’t ignore.
Still, you couldn’t deny that you liked his company. He was charming, funny, and his attention was flattering, sometimes even a little intoxicating. But you weren’t sure if it was just his charm that kept you second-guessing those little moments that made you feel off.
“It’s not like that. I mean… he’s nice, and he’s funny, and I enjoy being around him. But, I don’t know. Sometimes, I just feel kind of weird around him. Like, there’s something about him that makes me feel uneasy. It’s like… something’s off.”
Ava tilted her head, unimpressed. “You’re being paranoid. Honestly, I never feel that way around him. He’s always been chill, and I’m sure he’s just trying to make a move on you. Stop second-guessing it, okay?”
You sighed, but Ava wasn’t having it. She was determined to get you to say yes.
And honestly speaking, a part of you wanted to get to know him more too. He definitely knew how to make a girl laugh, and he was great at contributing to conversations. There was an ease to the way he spoke, like he was genuinely interested in whatever you had to say. And you couldn't deny that there was a certain chemistry between you two. He was charming, effortlessly so, and that smile of his? It melted you every time.
You were sure he was a great kisser too. I mean, those plump lips of his didn’t look like they lied. They were always so close, so inviting. The thought of it made your pulse quicken a little, despite yourself.
So, why not let yourself live a little? Everyone around you was practically begging you to take the plunge. Ava was begging you to go and she knows him better then you do, so when she means he's no harm, she can't be lying. You could use a night of fun, a little excitement. It didn’t have to be anything more than that. After all, he was just a guy. It wasn’t like you were doing anything wrong by saying yes, right?
So a few days later, when you saw Jake waiting outside of your class and finally asked you on a date, you had no reason to say no.
------------------------------
So here you were. At the edge of a nice lake surrounded by a cute park. Jake beside you, rambling on about some random topic that, honestly, you weren’t even sure you were fully listening to. He had a way of talking, of keeping the conversation flowing smoothly, making it feel like you were the only two people in the world. His voice was soft, relaxed, and as he gestured with his hands, you couldn’t help but watch the way his muscles flexed under the sleeves of his shirt.
You'd almost forgotten why you were so nervous about meeting up with Jake in the first place. The whole thing felt so natural now, so effortless. His laugh was contagious, his stories engaging, and his presence so easy to enjoy. As the sun started to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over everything, you found yourself laughing more than you had in weeks, the worries and uncertainties slipping away.
“So,” you said casually, glancing over at him, “what exactly are you majoring in, by the way?”
Jake smiled, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly, as he looked at you with a glint in his eyes. “I’m in engineering. Tech stuff.” He shrugged like it was no big deal, but you could tell by his tone that he took pride in it. “It’s all about computers, networks, systems, you know? It comes in pretty handy,” he added with a sly wink.
“Handy?”
He chuckled softly. “Yeah. I mean, you never know when a little extra knowledge can be useful. You’d be surprised at how helpful it is until you need it,” he said, his eyes narrowing slightly as if implying something more, but before you could react, he eventually changed the subject.
You wandered the park, your footsteps light, side by side, as you talked about everything and nothing. The air was crisp and refreshing, and the sounds of the nearby water and chirping birds only added to the peaceful vibe. The awkward tension you'd felt in previous encounters with Jake was now a distant memory.
But as the sky darkened, and the park became quieter, something shifted between the two of you. It wasn’t anything obvious, but there was this electricity in the air that hadn’t been there before. It was like everything had led to this moment.
You both stopped by the water, your shoes crunching against the gravel path as you looked out over the lake. The soft waves lapping at the shore reflected the dimming sky, and for a moment, the world around you felt suspended in time. Jake leaned a little closer, his arm brushing against yours as he turned to face you.
"I’m glad we did this," he murmured, his voice soft, almost too sincere.
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you that had nothing to do with the summer evening air. "Me too."
And then, without warning, Jake’s hand cupped your cheek, and he kissed you. It was gentle at first, just a soft press of lips, and it shocked you definitely, but you melted into it, letting go of any lingering hesitation. His lips were warm, his touch delicate, and for that brief moment, you forgot about everything—forgot about the nagging thoughts that had been chasing you all day.
But then, suddenly, the kiss deepened. His hands moved to your waist, pulling you closer as the kiss turned more urgent, more demanding. His lips were now on yours with an intensity that surprised you, and before you knew it, you were pressed up against him, his body a solid wall against yours. His hand gripped your hips so tight that it sent your mind into a frenzy as he groaned loudly against your lips.
You pulled away for a split second, your heart racing. "Jake... we’re in public," you whispered, your voice shaking slightly.
But he didn’t stop. Instead, he kissed you even harder and took this opportunity to slip his tongue inside your mouth, his hands now reaching further and further down your waist, pulling you towards him. The world around you felt blurry, as if you were floating in a bubble of his touch, and for a moment, you forgot where you were, who you were with—forgot about everything except him.
But then reality came crashing back in seconds. You broke free from the kiss, taking a step back, your breath coming fast. "Jake," you said, voice shaky, "we’re outside. There are other people around." You glanced around nervously, your eyes darting over the now dark park, thankful that no one was nearby but still aware that you were far from alone.
Jake just looked at you, his expression still soft but with a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. "Oh, sorry. I’ve just been really wanting to do that," he said casually, like it was no big deal.
You weren’t sure how to feel about his nonchalance, but you tried to dismiss it, even though a knot formed in your stomach. "Right," you muttered, taking a breath to calm yourself.
For a moment, the air between you both felt charged, and you couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe things were moving faster than you were ready for. But as Jake stepped back with a small grin, his eyes still warm, you felt yourself ease back into the moment, convincing yourself it was just him being... well, Jake. Charming, spontaneous, and maybe a little bit too eager.
So, when he grabbed you by the arm with a playful grin and said, “Come on, I know this great dessert place,” practically dragging you along with him, you told yourself this was just Jake’s way of showing he cared. You told yourself there was no harm in it. Jake was just spirited, maybe a little intense, but in a charming way. That’s all it was.
The rest of the night went smoothly enough, or at least it seemed like it. You talked and laughed some more, and by the time Jake dropped you off in front of your dorm, you found yourself in a bit of a daze. The streetlights cast long shadows, but all you could focus on was the lingering feeling from earlier. The kiss—the intensity of it, the way he didn’t seem to care about where he was or who might see. You’d been caught up in the moment, but now that it was over, that uneasy knot was back in your stomach.
"Thanks for tonight," you said, your voice a little quieter than you intended as you unbuckled your seatbelt.
Jake turned to look at you, his eyes soft, almost too sincere. "Anytime. Let me know when you want to do this again."
"Yeah, I will." You hesitated for a second, unsure if you should say more, but then the words just seemed to evaporate. Instead, you opened the door, stepping out and giving him a small wave as you walked up to your apartment.
As you entered the building, your thoughts kept circling back to that kiss, to his lack of concern about where you were or who might be watching. You’d had fun, no doubt, but there was a part of you that couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
You tried to push the thoughts aside, telling yourself you were overthinking it. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe he was just that kind of guy. But the unease in your chest only grew heavier as you walked to your room, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you were starting to see him for who he really was.
------------------------------
You and Jake had started hanging out more and more after that date, and you couldn't deny it, you were falling for him more than you expected. Sure, sometimes he did stuff that made you question things, but he wasn’t perfect. So what?
Today, you were studying for some upcoming exams at the school library. The space was quiet, and even though you were focused on your work, you enjoyed having him there. Jake had brought you both coffee and snacks, and the atmosphere felt warm and cozy. You were sitting across from each other, the constant clicking of keyboards the only sound in the otherwise still room. It was a perfect setting, relaxed, comfortable, and you found his presence quite calming. It only felt natural.
“One sec, I’ll be right back. I have to use the bathroom,” you announced, getting up from your chair.
Jake didn’t say anything and just nodded, his eyes still glued to his screen, focused on whatever was on his laptop. But as soon as your back was turned and you were walking away, Jake’s attention shifted.
His eyes landed on your bag, which was slung over the back of the chair next to where you were just sitting a few moments ago. The handle of your tote peeked out from the side, and something shiny caught his eye. It was your keyring. The familiar silver glint of your room key sat half-hidden inside your bag. You must’ve forgotten to tuck it deeper, but it was unmistakable.
Jake’s gaze lingered on it for a moment longer than usual. He looked around, ensuring no one was watching, before reaching over with careful fingers. The motion was almost imperceptible, but he slid the key out of your bag, letting them rest lightly in his palm. He checked the surrounding area once again. No one was looking.
His pulse quickened just a little, the thrill of the action sinking in. You were gone, out of sight, leaving him with this small window of opportunity.
He looked at the keys. They weren’t just any keys—they were a way in.
Jake sat there for a moment, the keys tucked securely in his pocket, a sense of satisfaction bubbling in his chest. He knew it was a little risky, but it was too perfect to pass up.
He glanced around again, making sure no one had seen. This wasn’t some spur-of-the-moment decision—he’d considered this before, the idea quietly simmering in the back of his mind.
He’d thought about sneaking into your room before, just out of curiosity (or so he told himself). But he never quite figured out how he’d do it without raising suspicion. The idea had first occurred to him a while back when he submitted a 3D-printed model of a robot for his tech project. It wasn’t just a cool demonstration of precision, it was proof of how easy it would be to replicate almost anything if he had the right dimensions.
Now, with your keys in his possession, that idle thought from a while ago clicked into place. The perfect way to turn a passing fantasy into something tangible.
It wasn’t like it would be hard to replicate the keys. After all, he was an engineering major. He had the skills. The tools. The knowledge. With the advanced tech available to him, specifically his access to the 3D printers in the lab, replicating those keys would be a breeze. The thought was almost laughable. No one would be the wiser.
The more he thought about it, the more the plan excited him. He could “find” the real key after he made the spare, casually give it back to you later, and look like the hero. The savior. You’d think he was just looking out for you, a kind guy who happened to stumble across your lost key. The hero who went the extra mile to return something precious.
And you’d never know he’d taken it in the first place. Hell, you might even think it was a sweet gesture.
A small, almost smug smile crept onto his face as he imagined it. He liked the idea of being the guy who could fix everything for you, who could always be the one to make things right. In your eyes, he'd be the one who cared, who was always there for you, just the kind of guy you'd want to be with.
The plan felt so natural, so flawless. He didn’t even feel guilty. It was for you, after all. It wasn’t like he was doing anything wrong. Just helping you out in the best way possible. It would only bring him closer to you, make you appreciate him even more.
You came back from the bathroom a few minutes later, the library air still cool and comforting as you settled back into your seat. Lost in your own thoughts, you picked up where you left off in your study notes. The soft clicking of your laptop keys and the rustling of paper were the only sounds filling the space between you and Jake. It wasn’t until you stood up to gather your things, ready to head out, that you noticed something was off.
You dug through your bag, feeling around for your keys, the ones you’d left in there earlier. But they weren’t there.
You froze for a second, your eyes scanning the table and the chair you’d been sitting in. It was only then that you realized they weren’t in your bag at all.
“What?” you muttered, frowning as you scanned the surface of the table. “Where did I put my keys? Jake, have you seen them?”
He was already standing up and grabbing his things by the time, pausing for a second and giving you a slight shrug. “No, haven’t seen them,” he said, as he put on his best “confused” face, sounding completely genuine. “You’re sure you put them in there?”
You nodded, trying not to panic. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
“Well, if they’re not in your bag, maybe you forgot to bring them. They’re probably somewhere in your room still. I’m sure they’ll turn up.”
There was a little panic in your voice as you started to shuffle through your things. “But I could’ve sworn I left them right here…”
“You don’t have a backup key or something?”
You sighed, realizing you hadn’t thought this through. “No. It’s fine though, Ava’s home. She can let me in. I’ll just buy a new one later.”
Jake smiled a little wider, his mind already running through possibilities, but he kept his tone light. “Alright, guess that works.”
You still seemed a little confused, but the moment passed. You dropped the subject and started talking about something else while you two were getting ready to leave. But Jake could tell—you were distracted now, just a little bit. He’d planted the seed. Maybe you’d brush it off, or maybe you wouldn’t. Either way, he was confident it would only matter if he wanted it to.
When you both walked out of the library building, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the campus, Jake slipped his bag over his shoulder and turned to you with an easy smile.
“So, I think I’m going to head home and get some rest,” Jake said.
You nodded, still rummaging through your bag, trying to keep your mind off the missing keys. “Yeah, same. I’ll probably head home too.”
"Sure thing. Have a good night."
“Night.”
Then you walked away, completely unaware of the keys now nestled in his pocket, Jake’s expression shifted. That easygoing smile lingered, but there was a sharpness in his eyes, a focus. He wasn’t heading home, not yet, anyway.
Instead, he made his way across campus to the engineering building. The hallways were mostly empty at this hour, the hum of the fluorescent lights echoing faintly. Jake swiped his student ID at the lab room door, stepping inside to the familiar scent of metal and machinery. The quiet whir of the 3D printers waiting in the corner greeted him, and he felt a surge of anticipation.
Pulling your keys out of his pocket, he set them down on the workstation. His fingers worked intently with great focus as he measured and scanned the key, inputting the data into the design software. The model on the screen was precise, the ridges and cuts an exact match to the original.
As the printer came to life, Jake leaned back in his chair, a faint grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. By the time the printer finished its work, the replica key was indistinguishable from the original. Jake inspected it carefully, his mind already running through how he’d “find” your keys and return them to you, playing the part of the helpful friend. You’d never suspect a thing.
Pocketing both the original and the replica, Jake left the lab, the grin still lingering on his face as he made his way home.
------------------------------
The next day, Jake managed to find you after class. “Hey, look what I found at the bottom of my laptop bag,” he said, holding up your keys with a triumphant smile.
Your eyes lit up as you recognized them. “Oh my god, no way.”
“Yeah, guess you must’ve accidentally dropped them into my bag instead of yours. Good thing I noticed before it got buried under all my stuff.”
You let out a relieved sigh, taking the keys from him. “Seriously, you’re a lifesaver. I was about to go buy a new one.”
Jake chuckled, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Well, glad I could spare you the hassle. So… are you free today? Thought maybe we could grab some food or something.”
You gave him an apologetic smile. “Oh, sorry. Me and Ava already made plans. We’re going shopping downtown, actually.”
For a brief second, Jake’s expression faltered, feeling disappointed. But just as quickly, it was gone, replaced by a soft smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Oh, no worries. You two have fun.”
He hesitated for a moment, then added, “What time are you heading out? Just curious.”
“Uh, probably around noon,” you said, shrugging.
“I see. Cool. Anyway, have fun. Maybe we can hang out later this week.”
You smiled and nodded before heading off, completely unaware of the shift in Jake’s demeanor as you walked away. If you were going to be gone for hours, that left him with the perfect opportunity.
------------------------------
Jake’s heart raced as he stood in front of your door. This was it. He had thought about this moment so many times in his mind, playing out every detail, and now, with your absence leaving him a window of opportunity, he was finally here. He double and triple checked the address that he dug for for hours online and made sure he was at the right place. Now, he couldn’t shake the feeling of excitement mixed with a strange sense of calm. It was a risk for sure, he knew that, but for some reason, the thought of being in your space, of having access to the things that were uniquely yours, felt almost...right.
You had just left with Ava, heading to the subway station. He knew because he was watching. He had to be sure you were completely gone before he made any moves. But now, he could finally do what he had been waiting to do for so long.
Slowly, he pulled the replica key from his pocket, his fingers trembling with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. He aligned it with the lock and turned it, the soft click echoing in the silence. It was almost euphoric. The moment his ears caught the sound, he felt his breath catch in his throat. The sound of success, of having everything perfectly fall into place.
Jake breathed a sigh of relief, though he couldn’t place why. Was it the thrill of it all, the forbidden nature of what he was doing, or just the satisfaction of knowing he had outsmarted you? He wasn’t sure. All he knew was that his body was finally moving, his heart pounding as he pushed the door open ever so slowly, just a crack. Then the gap widened just a bit until it fully swung open, and it revealed your shared apartment, the space you inhabited. His eyes scanned the layout, taking in the unfamiliar sights, the small and intimate details that made this place unmistakably yours.
It was small but cozy, with a cluttered bookshelf lining one wall and a comfy couch facing a tv. A coffee table sat in the middle, a few magazines scattered on top, and beside it, a worn-out rug that had clearly seen better days. The kitchen area was visible in the corner, neat but not pristine, just lived in enough to feel real. He could see the faint light coming in from the windows, the sun still high, casting long shadows across the hardwood floor. And then, one of the bedroom doors was slightly ajar—he couldn't help but notice it. Could that door be yours?
Just the thought of going into your room made the region below in his pants twitch. But he could get to that in a moment.
He stood frozen, his gaze sweeping across your private sanctuary. He could hardly believe it. This was your space, your life, and he had made it.
His thoughts swirled in a hazy mix of excitement, guilt, and something darker. He knew he had to move quickly. You’d be back before long. So, he manned up and finally took a step inside. His feet felt heavy, like they were sinking into the floor as he closed the door behind him with a soft click.
Jake froze again. The weight of what he’d just done settled on him in that brief moment of stillness. But then, just as quickly, the urge to explore, to be a part of your world, surged forward. He stepped further into the living room, his hand brushing along the arm of your couch, lingering as though he could feel the traces of you still there.
He looked around, breathing in the air, and a small smile tugged at his lips. This was his opportunity. This was his chance to get even closer to you, to understand you in ways you’d never suspect. He wanted to leave his mark here, in this space where you were supposed to feel safe and in control.
His eyes drifted to the small table beside the window, a few personal items scattered across it. There he saw some books you had mentioned reading in past conversations with him.
He looked even further. Soft blankets littered the couch as Jake bent down to smell them. Some didn’t smell like you, him inferring they were mostly used by Ava. But the others smelled so strong he felt like you were practically there beside him. He spent a good while just inhaling the aroma of you, reminiscing the scent, until he finally snapped out of it.
Jake’s gaze shifted toward the bedroom doors again, but this time he didn’t linger. He hastily made his way over to them. There were two doors across from each other, and Jake’s heart picked up speed as he walked toward the one on the right. He opened it slowly, his breath catching as he stepped inside. The room felt familiar, but not quite right. He scanned the walls, noting the framed photos of Ava and a few other girls, laughing and posing together, but no sign of you. The realization hit him: this wasn’t your room.
Without hesitation, he moved to the door on the left, his mind racing with anticipation. As he pushed it open, a wave of relief washed over him. This was it. This was the space that had been calling to him in the back of his mind, the space that felt like it was meant to be his, even though he hadn't been invited.
Your room.
The first thing he noticed was the soft glow from a string of fairy lights hanging across the ceiling. The room was cozy, warm, comforting, even. A faint scent of pumpkin spice lingered in the air, almost like it was designed just for you. His gaze swept across the space, taking in the details with a sharp, almost clinical eye. There was a bed pushed against the far wall, with a soft, pastel comforter neatly arranged, and a small desk cluttered with books, papers, and a laptop. He rummaged through them, but was careful enough not to make it seem like your stuff was being messed with. There were assignments, drawings you made, and a few other things, but ultimately, he started to get uninterested.
So he got up and delved further into your room, heart hammering in his chest, as he moved to your dresser, glancing at the things you had left behind—lip balm, a few stray earrings, a bottle of perfume. His fingers lingered over the objects, each one feeling like a piece of you that he could claim.
Jake could feel the weight of it—the tension, the thrill—this was more than just curiosity now. This was ownership. It was like stepping into your world and realizing, for the first time, that he could be a part of it in ways no one else could. No one else was here. No one else had access like he did.
He opened every single drawer of your dresser, inspecting every single article of clothing you owned. Including the ones he’d seen you wear frequently and ones you’ve seemingly barely touched. He noted your dark grey hoodie that you seemed to live in basically, but also noticed your more scandalous and sexy pieces, wondering why you never put those on for him in the past? One by one, he searched through your dresser from top to bottom. Then he reached the last and final drawer and as he was sliding it open, it never dawned on him what clothes it would occupy until it was fully opened.
Panties. Tons and tons of panties.
Jake froze.
He just sat there, staring.
And staring.
And staring.
But as much as he enjoyed looking, he was eventually slowly reaching in the pile of stacked underwear and grabbing as many as he could.
He brought them up to his face, inhaling the foreign scents of your undergarments. These were obviously your clean pile, but Jake was so focused on what he possessed in the moment, he didn't seem to care. But then, a familiar throbbing in his jeans began to emerge at this point, however, he was still too focused on the many pieces of fabric in full display right below his very own eyes. He then began to look around more. He noticed most of them were thongs. Some cotton, some laced. Some had cute patterns on them; bows, for example. And some were more mature, with dark red or black lacy fabric.
There were bras too. He didn't ignore those.
Now, one thing about you is that you know how to cover yourself up, especially in the upcoming colder seasons. So, when Jake saw your bras tucked away in the back of the drawer and pulled one out, you could say he was shocked at the least, to see it was pretty much big enough to be at least a C cup.
This realization made his cock even more excited, now to the point where he couldn't hold himself back any longer. Jake then immediately unbuckled his jeans as fast as he could, ripping off the buttons in seconds, until he shoved his pants down, right under his ass where he could finally access his poor, frustrated dick, in desperate need of attention.
He pulled it out of his boxer briefs in haste and groaned at the sight. It was red. Angry red, and bulging out in full length already, right in front of him. He gripped it tightly and let out a hiss in pain. But it was a good pain.
His eyes trailed down from the bottom all the way to the top, noticing his veins protruding out even more than they usually do.
Sure, he's jerked off to the thought of you (or pictures of you) countless times before. But now, that he's here—in your room—with full and complete access to your bras and panties, his dick simply just can't take it.
But it will. Jake needs it to.
So, he started moving his hand up and down slowly at first, getting used to this new uncomfortable feeling, until his cock finally calmed down. Jake threw his head back, eyes shutting tight, mouth open in a silent moan. He tried imagining in his head what you would like wearing just your bra and panties. What would you wear for the first time with him? Would you put on something sexy and alluring? Or would you go more cute and innocent? All the thoughts were turning him on too much.
He looked back down at your drawer and spotted a laced baby pink thong peeking out through the bottom of the pile. With no hesitation, Jake immediately grabbed it, looping it onto his dick while he continued to jerk himself off.
The now added friction of the cloth made his cock even harder at this point, which he didn't know was even possible. But after minutes (that seemed like hours), his hand began to grow tired and cramped up, trying so had to release, yet subconsciously edging himself every time he was about to. With a groan full of exhaustion, he momentarily stopped, giving his hand a quick break. He let out a short gasp of air, panting with adrenaline.
But when he glanced down to his still very hard and throbbing cock with your cute little panties wrapped around it, he grabbed it again, this time even harsher.
"Come on, come on," he muttered to himself, frustrated, with furrowed eyebrows. He shut his eyes tight again, imagining himself pounding into your tiny little cunt. He wondered if you wouldn't be able to take it—the thought of you struggling to fit it in all the way. He liked that idea a lot. He would kiss your forehead, tell you he would go slow. And then he would ram himself into you, giving you no time to adjust.
But then he wondered if maybe you'd surprise him, and turn out to be a cock slut, riding it so well, like a beast. He groaned at the thought of it, speeding up his hand even more, gripping his cock even harder. The idea of you bouncing relentlessly, not giving his dick a break until he came inside of you, which sounded just too good to be true. Would you grab your big ass tits and squeeze them right in front of his face? Would they bounce uncontrollably as you rode him like there was no tomorrow?
"Yeah, just like that. Don't stop," he basically whispered to himself in bliss, his imagination getting the best of him. "Fuck, I'm so close baby," he whimpered.
And just like that, he was coming undone. Right then and there, unleashing his load onto your carpeted floor with seemingly, no care in the world.
He laid there, panting out of exhaustion. After he caught his breath, he smiled to himself, a dark, satisfied grin that tugged at the corners of his lips.
He could hear the faint sound of traffic outside, the world continuing without a clue about what he was doing inside these walls. His fingers traced over your cum filled panties once more, and grabbing more from your drawer, each item feeling like a new possibility—a piece of you he could add to his collection.
For a moment, he couldn't shake the feeling of victory. It was as if the world was his, and everything he'd been waiting for was finally within his grasp.
But just as the saying goes, good things never last. And just as quickly as the euphoria had flooded him, the sound of your front door squeaking open shattered the calm, and his eyes widened in fear.

how you got a date with the most popular guy in campus! or college!au satoru gojo x reader - part 1.
warnings: none, but gojo is actually a few years older than reader (he's around 20 and reader is aroung 18, just starting college) important note: i'm in college but i'm not from usa so some things might be different from the usual college things you're used to! nothing too far tho. also, not a native english speaker, be kind please! otherwise, hope you enjoy your reading!
you knew about satoru gojo way before you met him.
actually, you got to know about him within the first few days of college. he was famous all around campus, partially because he was incredibly attractive and partially because he was rich—filthy rich, may i say—and had a reputation of paying things for people he liked. so, it was no surprise that everyone talked about him.
even though you hadn’t met him, you already knew his appearance (blue eyes, white hair, normally wearing sunglasses), his full name (satoru gojo), his age (21), the last party he attended (aiko's party, apparently it was a banger), and the latest instagram post he made (at a cafe with his most close friend—shoko). not because you looked it up—you just heard people commenting about it.
to you, he seemed like a typical frat boy. not that you cared much. it wasn’t in a bad way, you just didn’t feel the need to fawn over him like everyone else seemed to. still, you tried not to judge people before meeting them.
then you saw him once.
you recognized him instantly: tall, white hair like fresh snow, and signature sunglasses that made him stand out even more. he was chatting animatedly with a girl, her cigarette smoke curling lazily around them as she listened with a soft smile.
for a moment, you paused. he didn’t look like the frat boy you’d imagined: blonde, with blue eyes and super toned. no, he seemed... cheerful. but there wasn’t time to dwell on it—you were late for a lecture.
running late, you found one of the last seats, an empty spot with no one on either side. perfect. you weren’t the most extroverted person and preferred your space, so you were relieved as you actually did not knew many people from around here yet. settling in, you pulled a bag of gummies from your backpack and began savoring them.
minutes passed, and the room started filling up. suddenly you noticed someone sitting beside you out of the corner of your eye and let out a mental groan. without thinking, you glanced over and caught them staring—not at you, but at the candy in your hand.
it was him. the satoru gojo.
he still wore his sunglasses, but it was obvious he was ogling your gummies. you bit your lip to stifle a laugh at his lack of subtlety and decided to offer him some.
that’s when the magic happened.
he accepted immediately and launched into a dramatic monologue about his love for sweets.
“you see, i’m on this diet to gain some more muscle—and don't get me wrong when i say this, i know i'm already handsome and hot and i have fine muscles, i just want to be a little bigger, you know?—but anyway, the nutritionist said to eat less sugar, so i haven’t had any since yesterday, and i’m like, almost dying.” you chuckled at his theatrics, and he grinned, encouraged. “don’t laugh! i swear, it was a life-or-death situation. you just saved me!” “saved you from dying from a lack of sugar?” “exactly!” “well, guess now you’re in debt with me.” “oh, guess i am...” he said, making a mock thoughtful face. “would you like to have lunch with me later? it’s on me.” you stared at him for a moment. he stared back, unbothered. “we just met.” “so?” “what if i’m an evil person?” “nah, evil people don’t offer candy to strangers,” he said, popping another gummy into his mouth. he paused mid-chew. “unless...” you rolled your eyes, smiling despite yourself. “it’s not poisoned.” “that’s what someone who poisoned their candy would say!” “ah, yes. the candy i’m also eating is totally poisoned,” you said, popping another one into your mouth for emphasis. “maybe you’re suicidal,” he shrugged, shoving the candy into his mouth anyway. you couldn’t help but laugh at his stupidity.
the conversation ended when one of your professors tapped the mic, announcing that the lecture was about to start.
contrary to your expectations, during the lecture gojo was surprisingly well-behaved and actually paid attention. well, except for his occasional snarky remarks, which made you chuckle. he was incredibly easygoing and, despite his self-absorbed humor, a genuinely fun person to be around. within an hour, you found yourself getting comfortable and adding your own quips. he looked absolutelly delighted that you matched his energy.
so, not needing to say much, it's pretty clear you accepted the lunch offer. and that’s how you got a date with the most popular guy on campus.
end notes: guys, this is my first ever satoru fic i'm so excited mweheheh!!! there will be some angst and actually i will use this base for three possible outcomes (gojo only, satosugu x reader, tojisukugo x reader). hope you guys enjoy it 😎
♡⃕ xoxo mikki

I can't help but think Marinette would be put off by Alya and Zoé. Socqueline was her last friend and she's not really close to anyone right now. Suddenly she's a year forwards and being told that this is your new best friend and this is Chloe's sister who is one of your closest allies. Have fun! And obviously Ghost tells her that yeah that's true but, she's has to be wary at first. Alya less so because she apparently trusted her with the important guardian role. And that's huge in her books.
But I can't help but think that Marinette would not trust Zoé at all. I mean this is Chloe's sister? Alright when is she going to reveal how awful she is. And even with her phone calls to Chloe and softening towards her. I think in a vacuum she can't bring herself to hold Zoé in high regard. Especially because Chloe tells Marinette about Zoé's past, and yes she is able to see Chloe's embellishments and exaggerations. But apparently nobody wants to tell Marinette about Zoé's past. Everyone just brushes it off and tells her "you can trust her". She values the truth and next to lying, withholding information is one her biggest red flags.
Yeah no like!
Basically the rest of the class Marinette is cool with, but she has mixed feelings on all of the new people in her life because they're total strangers and let's go over that:
Alya - She seems nice. Marinette is a little baffled at the new girl becoming her best friend, but they must've clicked in some way. The class and her parents say they're bffs, and clearly despite her past self's trust issues she entrusted Alya to handle the Hero stuff. She does feel guilty about that, seeing what feels like a stranger handle her mess.
Adrien - Confusing! On one hand, Marinette can see why she fell in love with him. He's kind and sweet and funny. But she also keeps hearing about things she did to win his affection and starts wondering if this is a good thing because now that she's looking at it without justifying 'True Love™!"...... why does Ghost!Mari look so guilty when he's around?
Chat - Equally confusing! Because on one hand that's the guy who was her Hero Partner but.... for some reason she's not supposed to trust him? Somehow telling him things led to everything imploding, but no one knows why not Alya not her Ghost self. Marinette hasn't experienced that intrinsic trust that her old self did, and looking objectively makes her wonder if there was a reason beyond luck that made things go wrong.
Zoé - Mari doesn't trust her. She seems nice, but she's Chloé's sister who has shown off mad acting skills? Maybe she's really nice, but what if this is a long-con? And it doesn't help that everyone probably knew she'd be paranoid and tried to hide the relation.
Kagami - Weird! Because like. This is a Marinette who isn't batshit in love with Adrien and even if she was Kagami isn't a love rival. So she has no reason to have beef with her and is totally open to potential friendship! The only red flag is her dating Felix.
Felix - At first she's assured that Felix is just Adrien's socially awkward cousin and totally trustworthy and she rolls with it. But every new fact she learns about the guy makes her want to kick his ass.
Luka - At first this is something that makes sense. He's Juleka's older brother! That makes sense for why Mari just now met him and how they got close quick! Then it's explained that they dated and they broke up because she kept bailing for Superhero Nonsense so now it's awkward.
Lila - Everyone kinda mentions Lila in passing but whenever Mari asks they're like 'don't worry she was a bitch we hate her now' instead of elaborating.
I thiiiink that's all the new ones

My contribution to playing with “unreliable narrator Ponyboy”:
Ponyboy describes Johnny as very shy around girls, as someone who rarely talks to them. That may be true to an extent, but what if Johnny has more experience with girls than Ponyboy thinks? Maybe Johnny just never talked to Ponyboy about that stuff because he was self conscious, or because he was trying to preserve Ponyboy’s innocence, or preserve the image that he knew Pony had of him. Maybe Johnny sees that Ponyboy is uncomfortable talking about girls and sex; sees how Ponyboy blushes bright red when the gang teases him about not being into girls yet, how by the time they were fourteen they already blah blah blah. So he doesn’t bring it up, and lets Ponyboy make assumptions.
But Johnny is sixteen, and a sixteen-year-old boy who hangs out with boys like Dally, Two-Bit, Steve and Soda. Sylvia was canonically attracted to him, so there’s no reason why other girls wouldn’t be too. Johnny has that “quiet, mysterious” thing going, as well as that “sweet and shy beneath the tough hood exterior” vibe. You can’t tell me girls weren’t all over that, and that he never once in sixteen years met any girl who made him want to reciprocate. (Assuming you hc him as being attracted to girls, but even if he’s not, being with a girl is what was expected)
I’m imagining some girl coming up to Ponyboy after Johnny’s death (after a long enough time that Pony is able to absorb the interaction). She tells him how sorry she is and how much she misses him. He’s like, “….who are you?”
She introduces herself and tells him, “me and Johnny dated for a while last year. I know he never introduced us, but I heard so much about-“
“Wait. Johnny never dated no girls.”
“Well, he dated me.”
“You’re lyin.’ Johnny barely ever even talked to girls,” he snaps, getting mad because it’s messed up to tell lies about someone’s dead friend, especially those kinds of lies.
But she just looks down with a slightly mischievous yet wistful smile. “Well, we didn’t always do that much talkin.’”
Ponyboy’s head damn near explodes. “What?!”
The girl looks at him oddly. “What, did you think your buddy was some kinda virgin?”
And when she puts it like that he sounds like an idiot or a kid, but the thing is, yeah, that is what he thought.
#Ponyboy seems to view Johnny as more childlike#as closer to his own age#except Johnny is two years older#johnny may be shy but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s completely inexperienced#the outsiders#johnny cade#ponyboy curtis

Rewatching Wicked for the who knows how many times now and I have ANOTHER newer thought about Dancing Through Life and Ozdust Ballroom scene (and for once it has nothing to do with my beloved Gelphie). Time for another episode of Scout’s rambling!!!!!
Boq and Nessa both show a bit of their toxic potential behavior/mindset in the scene…. Boq in the library shows his complete and utter devotion to Galinda and how he is literally crazy enough to ask out another girl, because the girl he likes asked him to (essentially). And then at the Ozdust he’s with Nessa but literally cannot stop staring at Galinda, actually starts feeling BAD for what he’s done, is about to confess(a) to Nessa, and then Galinda kisses Fiyero and BOOM! Changes his mind. Sure. He can settle for Nessa. Because that’s what I truly think he believes he is doing in that moment. Settling for Nessa. (None of Boq’s toxic mindset is new to me but I wanted to point it out before I got to Nessa’s, which IS new to me)
Now for Nessa. I can see how when she’s talking to Elphaba in the library and says “this is our chance” it being more an excited girl talking to her sister about her crush on the boy, so I’ll give her that and call it less toxic, more typical. but once she repeats it to Boq at the Ozdust you can see he’s visibly kind of taken aback/uncomfortable when she says “don’t you see, this is our chance!” Like the look on his face just screams “chance for what? This is our first date!” To me. Like she almost sounds like she’s thinking about forever on the first date and let’s be real, that would scare ANYONE away. (I did have that happen to me once. A guy I was literally meeting to hang out with on our college campus before I came out as gay started talking about marriage and this was the first time we’d ever met and I literally had to send my best friend at the time an SOS message to call me and get me out of there). I’m sure once I’ve seen act 2 and more specifically For Good I’ll find more ways to analyze the scene into their future together, but that’s 300 days away.
#wicked#wicked 2024#boq woodsman#wicked movie#nessarose thropp#wicked nessarose#do boq and Nessa even have a ship name?#or do we all just agree they’re too toxic?#character analysis#wicked: for good#wicked part one#wicked part two

Wait can we get a storytime on the ex guy best friend? Because oh my god those TEXTS? Pls feed me more
hehehe okay, let me give you some of the main points baby i gotchu
We met freshman year of college (in a very religious school), I was freshly 18 and we were both in this student-run university residence hall organization. I hated him at first because I thought he was sooo conceded and a douchebag (and we were also fighting for the top of our class, we both had perfect gpa's and I wanted to be better than him so #academicrivals)
There was a retreat for our organization so we ended up being in hotel rooms across from each other. Ran into him when I was leaving one night, he followed, and we ended up talking while on this carrousel that the retreat had.
When we went back to school, him and I started becoming really good friends, I realized we had SO much in common. I ended up trying to set him up with one of my friends (I was....truly oblivious)
I was lowkey in love with another person my freshman year and this guy bsf would constantly give me advice, talk to me about it, repeatedly tell me I deserved more
Guy bsf and I got super close. We would see each other every day, and we ended up going on ONE date to the movies--- guy bsf said it was because his friend wanted to go on a double date and he needed someone to go with him hehe. Anyways, after the movie I ran into said other person I was lowkey in love with. There was this weird tension, stand off moment and I was so upset about it.
Guy bsf and I left, but instead of dropping me back at my dorm, guy bsf and I walked to the stadium of our university and laid on the grass and talked ALL night under the stars. It was like 5 am by time I went to sleep.
We became best friends after this, literally would tell him everything, and he was so respectful of me and the other person I was lowkey in love with. Guy bsf and I end up jokingly making a marriage pact at 35.
Fast forward to the end of the semester, covid was a thing and I had to fly back to Madrid. Guy bsf packed all my stuff with me. The day I was leaving, he gave me the biggest hug and said he was so sad we were missing out on like 7 more weeks of school. I left, then got a text from him saying I forgot something....I went back and he KISSED ME! Still the best kiss of my life, to this date.
I flew home, didnt see him all summer. Ended up falling for my (now ex) boyfriend. Guy bsf ended up falling for his (now ex) girlfriend too. Fun fact, his ex and my ex were both of our high school crushes lmao anyways. After the summer, I go back to school. Guy bsf and I immediately fall back into place, but things are off bc both of us are pretty much cuffed.
I end up deciding I want to leave school and move to Panama. I start planning. Guy bsf gets into a motorcycle crash. I'm his emergency contact, he gets a bad leg injury. I end up taking care of him at his place for the next few weeks. During this time, me and my (now ex) boyfriend are getting kinda serious so I start to make boundaries with guy bsf. Guy bsf breaks things off with his girl.
A month later, I'm getting ready to move. Guy bsf and I are preparing our goodbyes, he gives me this BEAUTIFUL letter on the night that I leave. Literally compares me to plato's forms of beauty. (You can read some of it below) and tells me he loves me.
I cry over it. It's the most thoughtful thing I've ever read, but I feel so guilty that I don't feel the same way. I also feel conflicted because my (now ex boyfriend) and I were getting pretty serious, and he was uncomfortable with my guy bsf giving me a love letter. I thank guy bsf, tell him it was so sweet, but we have a conversation about what our friendship needs to look like.
Long story short, guy bsf started to get jealous and kinda mean towards my (now ex) boyfriend. Lowkey, I shouldve listened bc my ex was INSANE. But I was uncomfortable with it and guy bsf and I got into a huge fight, had a huge falling out. He told me he didn't think I was with the right person.
4 years later, we start talking again!!! wohooo
There are SO many details here within 4 years. His friends telling me he said I was the one that got away, my own mother telling me she was sure we would end up together blah blah

KARMA— JACK HUGHES
jack hughes x fem!reader
published: February 13th, 2023
summary: in which y/n’s ex-best friend has been gossiping behind y/n’s back saying that Jack should be with her instead, so y/n shows that karma goes both ways.
specific lyrics: “you’re talking shit, for the hell of it. addicted to betrayal.” and “ask me what i learned from all those years. ask me what i earned from all those tears.” and “karma is my boyfriend, karma is a god, karma is the breeze in my hair on the weekend, karma’s a relaxing thought”
warnings: toxic friendship mentions, light profanity

“did you hear about what Carley said last week?” i hear as soon as i sit down in my seat at brunch.
“no.” i shake my head. “what did she say now?”
“she was out with her friends, and Nicole and Jesper were sat by her at the restaurant; overheard her saying that Jack should be with her instead of you. apparently she’s convinced that he’s only pitying you and she deserves him because she’s ‘richer, prettier, and has more followers’.” Ryleigh says. “what a bitch! i can’t believe you were ever friends with her.“
“karma is a bitch, it’ll get to her one day.” i shrug. “she wasn’t much different when we were friends. claimed i ‘stole’ Jack from her because ‘she saw him first’, but he and i had already been dating by the time she saw him. we just hadn’t been public yet.”
“but, you’re literally the sweetest person i’ve ever met. i’m just saying, i don’t understand how you could’ve been friends with her for so long.” Darya chimes in, setting her mimosa down in front of her.
“i was friends with her since we were ten, she’s always been this way. a lot of my tears were from her hand. she insisted she would do things in the name of friendship and ‘bettering me’, but eventually, i learned that she was just a horrible person and i should stop excusing her actions. as i said, karma will get to her eventually.” i explain as i scan the menu in front of me. i know how Carley is. it doesn’t exactly surprise me that she’s talking bad about me, she used to do it even while we were friends.
“well, karma isn’t coming fast enough. that girl needs to be humbled soon.” Ryleigh exclaims and Darya nods in agreement. before i can respond, the waiter comes to take our orders and the subject changes.
**
i’m sat in glass seats at a Devils home game, waiting for them to come out for warmups. i switch between glass seats and the WAGS box every few games. i like hanging out with the girls but, i love to see the smile on Jack’s face when the Devils score. especially when he scores and he gets to look over at me and see that i watched and that i’m cheering for him. it’s not too long before warmups start that someone sits at the end of my row, and i look over to see Carley and one of her friends. i choose to ignore her and the looks i know she’s giving me. i have a right to be here, and she’s allowed to come to a game if she wants, i don’t control that. it’s when the warmups start that i have a problem with her. i’m looking down at my phone, texting Ryleigh when Jack skates by, banging a hand on the glass in front of me to get my attention. i startle, jumping in my seat and dropping my phone, and he laughs.
“hi baby!” i immediately recognize the voice yelling down the row. i look over to see Carley staring straight at Jack as he skates past her. he turns around, skating backwards and giving her a weird look before looking at me with a ‘what the fuck?’ face. i shrug my shoulders. what possessed her to make her think that calling my boyfriend ‘baby’ is okay?
i let the comment roll off my back, it’s whatever. i know that Jack has tons of fans, he’s talented, he’s hot, he’s sweet, he’s a total package, i get it.
“score a goal for me tonight, babe!” i hear her call out. that’s when my problem starts. and my anger only increases after warmups, when i overhear her talking to her friend. “eventually, he’s gonna realize how much better he can do than y/n. and i’ll be there with open arms when he does.”
i remind myself to stay in my seat. i’ve turned a blind eye to her glares, i’ve let her gossiping fall on deaf ears instead of making a scene or causing drama, and i know it’ll be worth it in the end. i was raised to remember that karma is a powerful thing, and that it goes both ways. you do bad things, something will knock you down a peg. you do good things, you’ll have good luck. it’s common sense. but apparently she didn’t get the message.
**
“babe, come look at this!” Jack calls to me from our bed. it’s officially the off season and Jack and i have been at the Hughes lake house for the past couple days. it’s been nice being surrounded by his family and even a few of our friends.
“what’s up, love?” i ask, walking out of the closet where i was picking out a cover up to wear out on the boat. i slip the sundress i chose over my head and pull it down over my bikini.
“come see what Bratter just sent me.” i flop myself down on the bed next to him, laying on my side and cuddling into him, an arm wrapping around his torso. he tilts his phone screen towards me and i read the text that Jesper sent him.

From: Jesper Bratt
took Nicole out to lunch and she pointed out a girl that she said is obsessed with you. said her name was Carley. heard her talking to someone, saying you guys were destined to be together 😂 even heard her say that y/n isn’t good enough for you? does this girl have nothing better to do?
—
“she really just won’t stop, will she?” my question is rhetorical but Jack answers anyways.
“she’ll get the message soon enough. i don’t want her.” his words make me furrow my brows but i nod anyways. “you ready to head out?”
“yeah, let’s go.” we stand from the bed, making our way out of the bedroom and down the stairs, meeting the others in the living room before heading down to the dock and onto the boat. i sit and watch as all the guys take turns wakesurfing, choosing not to participate and instead enjoying the summer evening air.
“babe! babe, c’mere!” Jack calls from the back of the boat, where he’s currently wakesurfing. i stand, walking over and bending over the back of the boat so i can hear him.
“look at you, superstar!” i chime, grinning at him. he laughs and shakes his head.
“no, i wanted to say that i wanna take you on a walk around the lake when we get back.” i admire his smile for a few moments, just nodding in response and watching his face all lit up with joy. this man makes me so happy.
i keep myself rooted in that spot until he decides he’s done and gets back on the boat, letting Luke take his place. he looks at me with a wicked grin and i know exactly what he’s planning to do, but the boat is only so big and he catches me quite easily. pulling me to him, getting me wet with the cold water dripping from his hair and body. i shiver and let out a squeal; halfheartedly attempting to push him away. i feel my feet lift off the ground as Jack moves over to the bench seats, sitting down and pulling me onto his lap.
“now my cover up is all wet!” i feign a pout, but all he does is laugh, placing a gentle kiss on the tip of my nose.
“i’ll make it up to you. promise.” he squeezes me tighter to his chest and i shuffle down in order to lay my head on his chest, getting the side of my face wet in the process, but i don’t care. “i love you.”
“i love you too.” i smile, turning my head slightly to lay a kiss on his chest.
*
when we park back at the dock, Jack lets the guys know we’ll be back up to the house soon and pulls his hoodie over his head. he slings one arm around my shoulders, holding me to his side, and sticks his free hand in his hoodie pocket. we continue to walk along the lakeside in silence, just enjoying the last moments of sunset and the sounds of nature. i stop Jack a few times in order to point out pretty birds or various other beautiful nature moments. i let go of him once more, stepping closer to the water and letting him fall behind me.
“Jack, look at the way the sunset is reflecting off the lake! it’s gorgeous.” i turn to look back at him, checking to see i have his attention, but when i catch sight of him, one knee on the ground with a ring box opened in his hands and a watery smile on his face, my hands fly up to my mouth.
“y/n, i texted Quinn right after i met you, telling him i just met the love of my life. at the time, i thought maybe i was over exaggerating, but then i got to know you, and i knew i wasn’t. these past two and a half years with you have been the best of my life, and i was hoping you’ll choose to continue that. y/f/n, will you marry me?” his voice wavers, laced with emotion, and tears spring to my eyes.
“yes. god, yes! a million times yes!” i exclaim and he takes my hand, slipping the ring in my finger as he stands and i pull him into a kiss. my hands hold his face to mine and he grips my hips. pulling away, i wipe the tears from his cheeks and then mine. “i love you so much.”
“i love you so much more, pretty girl.”
