𝔸/ℕ: hey yall, this is the first thing that im writing for this blog, which im gonna dedicate to pedro pascal fully. i wanted to start with frankie bc i love him sm, he has a special place in my heart and it just felt like the right thing. enjoy <3

𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓

The wind howled inside the room by the open window on the side of your bedroom. It was one of those nights where you weren't able to sleep, concerned about your husband not coming home yet. You woldn't usually be so worried, but it was already a couple of hours past midnight, and he never took that much time coming back home. You had spent all that time trying to convince yourself that he was okay, that he was probably just having one of his boy nights or days out with his friends. But then again, if that was the case, he would have given you a heads up —texted you—, but he didn't. Now that you think about it, he didn't even say where he was going when he said goodbye to you that morning.

Now you were even more concerned. Where the hell was he? Why hadn't he said anything to you? Why wasn't he home? All those questions were running side to side in your head, and they wouldn't let you sleep.

At least not until you heard the door opening and closing, followed by the clanking of the keys on a table.

You got up from the bed as fast as you could, running to the door with a glimpse of hope and relief blooming inside your chest. All the concern and fear you had just a minute ago had all gone away, knowing that Frankie was home safe.

"Frankie?", you whispered into the darkness of the corridor. In response, your husband gave you a soft gasp. "Frankie, baby, are you okay?", you moved closer to him, still not able to see anything in the lack of light.

"Hey, honey", he finally spoke. You could feel how his voice was unsteady. As your concern started to rise again, you moved in closer with your arm extended out to grab him. "No, don't come near me, babe. I'm...", he stopped talking.

"Sweetie, what's wrong?", you asked, stepping away like he told you to.

"Just don't get close right now, 'kay? I'm not clean".

"What do you mean you're not clean?"

"I mean... I'm... I've got...".

Since he didn't seem willing to tell you what was going on, you just interrupted him and turned the corridor lights on. It was then that you saw him covered in red and brown. Blood and dirt were spread all over his clothes, barely letting the denim jacket and the gray t-shirt underneath be seen. The anger that was flowing through your veins just seconds ago moved away to make way for fear to come back. You watched in horror how the man in front of you looked at you with eyes full of sorrow and regret. His hands were trembling, blood dried up on the tip of his fingers, where it had dripped. The hair under his cap —which was also covered in dirt and blood— was drenched in what looked like a mix of blood and sweat, as well as disheveled, more than it usually was.

Your own hands got up to touch his face. His eyes fluttered close when you graced your fingers over his cheekbones, stroking his skin lightly. Frankie let out a shaky sigh, your touch making his heart rate calm down a little bit. One of his hands went up to grab yours and he entwined the fingers of both of you.

"Tell me this is not your blood", you said slowly. Frankie was only able to shake his head no. "Oh, thank God", you moved your hand away from his face and got closer to him, wraping your arms around his torso in a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're okay, honey", you pressed your cheek flush against his chest. He responded hugging you just as tight, his chin resting on your head.

"I'm sorry", he whispered. His hands squeezed you as forcefull as his fingers permitted. Something liquid fell on your hair from his chin, followed by a soft whimper out of Frankie's mouth. You held him tighter, too. "I should've told you", he cried.

"Told me what, Frankie?", you caressed his back in a reassuring motion.

"That I was goin' out again", another sob came from his lips. "That I was goin' on another mission".

You suddenly understood the situation. That is why Frankie hadn't come home earlier. That is why he didn't tell you anything about where was he going. Because he was going out on a mission once again, and he didn't want you to worry. Maybe he thought you would argue with him about it, not let him go, and he didn't want you to be mad at him, nor wanted to be mad at you. Whatever it was why he didn't want you to know, though, didn't matter anymore.

"It's okay, love. I got you now, you're here with me, you're safe".

You held him as he cried, talked him through it, told him he was going to be fine. He just nodded every time you reminded him that nothing bad was going to happen to him, or to you, and that you would stay with him no matter what.

As the night went by, Frankie's sobs calmed down until getting to a halt. His breath became steady, just as his heartbeats. The tears pouring out of his eyes down onto your head stopped soaking your hair, and the ones that had fallen over it had already dried up. You then moved away from the hug, grabbing your husband's hand.

"How does a shower sound, hm?", you looked up at him. "You must be exhausted, and you're gonna need to get out of those clothes and all that dirt if you wanna get into bed without leaving an ugly stain", you chuckled, trying to cheer him up. He could see what you wanted to do, and gave you a smile followed by a soft breathed-out giggle.

"Yeah... Yeah, I should shower", he squeezed your hand.

"Good. I'll help you. You did leave a stain on me after that hug", you looked down at yourself, your pajamas now dirty with red and brown, just like Frankie's clothes. He smiled again, mumbling an apology before you led him to the bathroom.

You took your clothes off first, then helped Frankie out of his. As you slowly removed his denim jacket, you uncovered some cuts on his forearms. The t-shirt was also broken in the back because of more scratches that went up his shoulders as well. His legs were less hurt though, which gave you some relief. Still, when his feet were left unclothed, you saw some blisters on the heels, and his nails were broken and bloodied. Frankie took your hand when he saw your face full of concern. He helped you stand up so you could look at him and gave you the sweetest smile he could pull up. You smiled back, trying to focus on making him feel better and forget about whatever happened at that mission he had gone out on.

You stepped into the shower right after him. You turned on the faucet and waited for the water to be warm enough. Then, you turned to look at Frankie, telling him to get in front of you. He turned around so you were facing his back. You watched as the water doplets ran along his curls, his torso and down his legs. Once he was completely wet, you turned the faucet off and started rubbing the soap all over his body. You massaged the points you found more tense and stroked his wounds gently. He would let out a pained whimper when one of them hurt, and you immediatly whispered a quick apology and moved onto the next cut.

When you finally reached his hair, you buried your fingers on the soft, chocolate curls of your husband and massaged his scalp softly. His lips parted as he let a pleased and relaxed sigh escape from between them. His hands had stopped trembling and now laid by the sides of his body. You kept scrubing the shampoo at his scalp until it was covered in bubbles, and then moved down to grab his hands. He turned around to look at you as you rubbed the blood away from his fingers, staring into his deep brown eyes. His lips showed you a small, brief smile when your fingers entwined with his. He left you facing his back once more and turned the faucet on again. You helped him get rid of all the soap.

"Thank you", he said, so low that you barely heard him.

"Of course, pretty boy", you hugged him from behind, leaving small pecks at the back of his neck. He brought one of your hands to his lips and kissed it multiple times. Your smile came back to your lips at his gesture. "You might want to eat something before we go to bed", you turned off the faucet.

"Yeah, maybe I should. I'm kinda starvin' ", he chuckled. You were happy to see him less scared and traumatized than he was when he first arrived home. 

You both got out of the shower and helped each other dry up. You put all your dirty clothes in the washing machine, setting a mental reminder to put it to work next morning. You followed Frankie into your shared bedroom as he picked clean clothes from the wardrobe for the both of you. Once you were dressed, you walked to the kitchen, opened the fridge and took out a plate of leftovers from your own dinner so Frankie could have some. He just sat down on the kitchen table as he watched you do it all. He thought back to everything that had happened that day. He had murdered people again, something that he had promised himself not to do again and that he wasn't proud of doing, but something that had to be done and would save millions of lives, including yours.

He'd give anything to have you taking care of him like this again, he thought that morning he went on that mission. Even if it meant killing, torturing and hurting people, like it all had. And so, there you were, taking care of the poor, traumatized Frankie that had gone back home to you just to have you like this again. He thought that, after all, if he had protected you and saved your life, he didn't care of what he had done that day. He let all the bad thoughts drift away as the thought of you being safe and in his arms that night was all that got to occupy his mind.

He got up from his chair and hugged you from behind as you were setting his dinner on a plate. You giggled, stopping for a moment to place your hands over his. Frankie kissed the side of your head once you got back to his plate. When you were done, he grabbed it mumbling a little "thank you" and placed it on the kitchen table, where you two sat at.

You watched silently as your husband ate the food as fast as his movements allowed him, without a single break to breathe. You heard him moan every time he put a piece of a different meal into his mouth, enjoying the flavor of each one of them after not having eaten for the entire day. After a couple of short minutes, there was no food left on his plate. He looked at you and realised the way you were observing him. He put on an innocent look on his eyes and gave you a little smile as an apology.

"You were starving", you placed the plate in the sink, then grab Frankie's hand. "We should go to sleep now".

He let you lead him into the bedroom. You helped him inside the sheets when you saw his legs trembling at the sting of his wounds. You sat next to him once he was laying down under the sheets. He looked at you with hooded eyes, still feeling sorry for how useless he had been that night. You just held his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, as if to remind him that he wasn't useless, and that you liked to take care of him.

"I'm sorry", he said once again.

"Stop it, Frankie. Don't be sorry", you laid next to him, facing him and staring into his eyes. "Look, I don't know where you went today, or what you did. But what I do know is that, whatever it was, it was for good, even if you don't feel good about it. And I also do know that you're okay, here, with me tonight, and no one can hurt you as long as I'm with you", you cupped his face with both of your hands. "And no one will hurt me as long as you stay with me, got it?", he nodded. "Then I'll take it you'll stay with me, right?". He grabbed your face in a gentle, yet firm grasp. His brown orbs stared deep into your soul.

"I'm gonna stay with you. Forever. I'm gonna protect you with everythin' I have, even if it means I gotta kill every single human bein' on this Earth. No one is ever gonna hurt you as long as I'm here", he promised.

He then pulled you in for the most tender, loving, sweetest kiss he had ever given you. It was a kiss where he showed you all the things he felt for you, where he told you how much he loved you without needing words. It made you realise how much his promise meant and how serious he was about it. Of course you knew he would kill for you, that was his job after all. You just hoped he didn't have to put himself in danger again, and that he would just stay with you for as long as life allowed you to be together.

"Can I be the little spoon tonight?", he asked, taking you out of your thoughts. You looked at him with eyes full of love as he smiled shyly.

"Get over here, baby".

And so, you held him tight until the both of you fell asleep. Frankie had no nightmares that night, the complete opposite of what he thought would happen. He expected to not be able to close his eyes for the entire night, but that didn't happen. He just focused on listening to your breathing and feeling your heartbeat on his back. That all was enough for you to help him have his very hoped dreamless night. He rested just like he needed, and he slept right through the night. After all, he now knew that he was in your arms, and you were right there with him, so nothing bad would happen to any of you.

so on a whim I started reading omniscient reader’s viewpoint manhwa

..and got hooked on the story so hard that I easily blasted through all available eps in less than a week. istg they put dr*gs in this thing it’s so good???? 😭

RAHHHHHH KIM DOKJA….. KIM DOKJA I LOVE YOU

GUYSSSSS 🥺 LISTEN. HE’S SUCH A GOOD PROTAGONIST. MY TRAUMA BOY. MY DUDE WITH THE POWER TO INFODUMP PEOPLE TO DEATH. YOU SELF-SACRIFICING IDIOT. his cunning intelligence makes him super attractive what can I say, I LOVE smart mcs with ambiguous morality and self sacrificial nature

here’s a big ✨shut your mouth✨ to every character who’s said he’s ugly- get your eyes checked, get a job get away from him (I know it’s because of the fourth wall’s filter it’s not their fault I’m just being silly)

the fourth wall is such a cool power to have. the complexity of how it acts based on his perception of fiction vs reality as the reader …. that’s very interesting and well thought out!!! how it lowkey has a consciousness too and it’s so tied into his mental state makes me want to psychoanalyze this guy even more. probably one of the most unique powers I’ve seen created and explored in a story tbh

I think the entire system of how the world works is really well done in general. constellations watching the apocalyptic bloodbath via livestream and sending donos to their favorite little guys shouldn’t work as well as it does and cracks me up so much 😭 (uriel is the best). I enjoy learning about all the irl different fables, history & mythologies too. plus doing my own research is fun! I did a deep dive through the web to learn about dokkaebi folklore lol I’m having a good time

I also related hard to how dokja read TWSA throughout his life, the story was a companion for him. got choked up bc I reflected on how much my own favorite companion stories for years mean to me. there’s been situations I’ve thought “what would (character) do?” dokja saying stuff like “what would joonghyuk do?” felt like I got called out <3 I’d probably be the same as him if my favorite characters suddenly came to life

anyways yeah I caught up with the manhwa looked online and discovered it comes from an already completed novel with over 500 chapters and the manhwa is barely a third into adapting it though it’s been releasing every week for 4 years. and that it’ll take like 10 more years to finish. I then planted my face in my hands and screamed with despair

I’ll shrivel up waiting to see what happens……………heyyy woahhhh.. whats this light of salvation ? the novel file just completed download on my phone ? that’s crazyy wow I opened it ? im scrolling it right now ? omg I’m telling myself in the mirror “pace yourself, try to space your reading out do NOT read too fast” ?

jokes aside im excited, first I’ll take some time to read back through the earlier chapters for extra context of scenes! >:D after I finish doing that…. pls pray for my self-control to try stretching this for as long as possible. I’m pumped to see what happens next with this demon king part so maybe I’ll read along with the manhwa unless I get too impatient heh

to conclude- I had no idea the fandom of orv was so passionate. while closing my eyes to spoilers, I was looking at beautiful fanart and animatics (watched this one and ascended that’s one of my fav rin songs). I can tell how much you guys love the story, there’s always going to be people like me who get interested so keep it up :D if the fandom does end up reading this, ummm *knocks on the door* hi im new

4Minutes Ep 1 - 4 Live Blogging

I’m in Chicago and hanging out with friends but also, I’m awake while the others are sleeping/busy. So maybe I’ll start watching this hmmm. Ideally I’d binge/watch each episode in one go, then go through archives and posts for that episode, then move on to next episode but the rest of the week once I get home is also going to be chaotic, so I don’t think I can watch the episodes with my full attention then either. I wanna be caught up for Friday’s episode, so here we go on my ipad. I saw a bunch of stuff for the first two eps and some stuff for the third ep; most of it was Fuaiz character with Bas or Jjay so I kinda don’t know what’s going on with our main couple except Bible’s character sees visions (including having sex w the other guy).

Interesting first episode, lots of things happened and my interest is piqued. What’s up with the woman who ran in front of the car and her mysterious son that’s Great’s age? How are the characters’ paths gonna cross? What’s the 4 minutes thing even? exciting. Well shot and the sex scene going so far startled me even though I kinda knew about it. Gotta wait until Tuesday to watch eps 2 and 3 rip.

Ep 3 (Aug 13)

Last episode before I have to wait just like the rest of them :') Just 4.5 weeks or so until the finale though.

Two murders in a similar way... So somebody killed Tonkla's brother and Tonkla killed them with the stone similarly

We've moved on from 11:00 to 11:01 last ep and it's showing up plenty this ep. There were some theories that Great has until 11:04 in the current timeline where he's in the hospital bed to change the stuff in his past, which could be interesting

ohhhh I'd seen the gifs of Tyme taking off his mask but was so confused. I get it now. yeah it was Tyme that Nan was sending all the gambling evidence to.

but why are him and Nan doing so many scary things by themselves, no backup, no nothing oof

I'd seen the 2 timelines theory but I wasn't sure if that would actually work because Korn and Great were at that dinner with their parents at the same time. And I thought it was after Great started seeing the future and Korn got assigned to the new thing, which we had mentioned to Tonkla.

I wonder why Great had seen the 4 minutes future this episode? Usually it's a significant event, especially ones where he made a cowardly choice, but that time, his heart started hurting and he dropped his drink?

Ep 4 (Aug 16)

I just happened to be working from home today so I can start watching during my lunch hehe and not have to wait ~6.5 hours until its release

ah, the start of Tonkla and Korn falling in love. their start is so much more romantic than I expected, like their first time seems so romantic, a stark contrast to how Korn was pressuring Tonkla today

Some progress on the TymeGreat front but it feels a bit strange how shallow? it seems because they've hardly spent time with each other and know nearly nothing about each other but Great is betraying his brother for Tyme and risking his life etc. Maybe because he has the visions of the two of them together and so is trying to speed up the romance? it just feels like their relationship is unearned/lacking which is a stark contrast to how in-depth and complex they're getting with Tonkla's relationships. So is the TymeGreat thing on purpose?

I'm curious how they'll deal with the 2 timelines stuff because the butterfly effect is kind of happening but not really???? The merging of two timelines where Tonkla is in the original one and Great is in the redo one but they bleed into each other (or rather maybe the redo is bleeding into the original one?)

Also I was wondering if the cold opens are from the future but it seems not, right? So does Win know right know that Tonkla is a murder suspect as he sleeps with him after finding out he already has someone and Tonkla's cheating with him? Win grow a backbone and stand for something. Letting himself be used as a side piece by a murder suspect, girl.

I mean I assume that whomever you are, this is in my inbox because of my recent Ramblings-

I'll be honest, I don't quite understand the tone implied in this message but I know that I remember the character (Cheshire? Listen it's been a solid 5 years since I had the emotional capacity to watch YJ again but I did in fact watch Season 1 at least 3 dozen times)

I'm going off of context cues alone here and granted, I don't have a whole lot but I feel like this is about Her Legs; and man I can't think of any way to fight in a long skirt (or skirt in general) that doesn't involve Your Opponents Seeing Your Whole Ass and that's why I personally always wear shorts or leggings underneath if I'm wearing a skirt/dress (one has to always be prepared for combat at any moment).

I *did* check just now to make sure, but Cheshire is 19 already in Season 1 so honestly? I don't necessarily see this as being an "inappropriate" or even particularly sexualizing scene- I've seen clips of the latter seasons and whenever Starfire is introduced (no spoilers there please y'all istg I'm going to be watching it soon I just need to emotionally prepare myself and after Good Omens Season 2 I'm still reeling here) I have seen a multitude of GIFs involving... a more sexual nature than what this gives off to me.

So like I think what I'm saying here is that given how female superhero outfits have always been, this scene is nothing particularly raunchy in my eyes; I'd say the whole "Oriental" aesthetic of her character may or may not be in the best of tastes (I would listen to what people of East Asian ethnicity have to say about it rather than say "it isn't problematic at all" cuz I don't know the intricacies of it all) and the overall sexualization of Cheshire's character does sorta play in to the whole "sexualizing East Asian culture" trope that IS indeed a long existing problem; but in the way they tell her story (as far as I recall and up until S2), I think that the overall story of her character is generally handled well without anything that my younger self noticed as being particularly problematic.

Although I do feel there is a difference between how one can show that a certain character may display their attunement with their sexuality (and I don't mean sexuality as in sexual identity per say it's more about one's own image of themselves and how one wishes to be perceived by others, as a Sexual Being) as opposed to the perception of the character through the lens and to the audience and the OVER-sexualization of characters and people that is an ongoing Issue and remains one of the reasons why I have never gotten fully otaku-level obsessed with anime bc it is a very prevalent issue within that form of media.

Don't have a clue why this answer became an essay but here I am, 7am, and I hope that this all comes across in a more cohesive manner than it felt writing it.

Hey Dani! I saw your post about how invasive fans can be and I can't stop thinking about it since I read it. It's something I think about every time I post something in here because many times I use content that it's not from shows or harry's IG (you know photos we get from fans that met him or pap pics or things other people say about him etc.) Every single time I post, there is a thought that pops up immediately in my mind: "Is this disrespectful?" and when I decide to post it after all it's because I'm telling myself that I don't post about him because I see him as a content but because I want to express the admiration I have for him and also because it's a way to distract myself from things that makes me anxious (I mean it makes happy talking about him). Although I know that I'm trying always to be respectful (and I think I have achieved it, at least at most parts), the thing you said it's always a thought that comes to my mind when I do something that involves him. And that's why I feel so at ease when he is not working and we don't get any photo or whatever. Because sometimes we crave to see him and get glimpse of his life but that's selfish. He doesn't own us anything.

hellooooo <3 i completely get being here and posting things because we want to distract ourselves from reality (things that make us anxious, sad, etc), and i dont want to come across as someone who's above any of that. after all, here i am, writing fanfic and posting about how much i love harrys arms lol (btw, i also have internal dilemmas when it comes to my stories, i just wont get into that rn bc I'll end up losing track of my thoughts and never stop talking hehe).

SO YEAH, that all being said, im gonna answer your ask in the only way i can right now, which is reading """between the lines""" of what you wrote—but pls keep in mind that my brain is exhausted so take this in a gentle way <3 first, from my perspective, i think that if you have to CONVINCE yourself that what you're doing (whatever that is) isn't disrespectful to others because it brings YOU joy, then that's already enough to show that deep down you already know something is off and maybe, just maybeeeeee (bc im speaking in general not just about this situation), that it isnt the case. and second, are you really showing admiration for him if you're posting pictures he didn't consent? if you're posting pictures that are invading his privacy or that were taken when he wasn't aware of someone even watching him? arent there better ways to show admiration than to share/spread pictures of him trying to live his "normal" life? i get wanting to distract yourself from reality, i do!! i just think there are a million things there could be posted instead of these pictures/videos that are taken in a context where he isn't being treated like a human being. let's go back to old shows. let's go back to his instagram posts. lets go back to his interviews. his music videos. his movies. his outfits.... idk!! is it repetitive? well... yeah. but it is what it is. it is what we have until he's willing and ready to share more 🤷‍♀️

at the end of the day, engaging or not with that kind of content is a choice. and yes, whether we like to admit it or not, pictures and videos of him are content. content to feed your blog. content so people interact with your posts. so people engage, follow, etc, etc.. and it is my choice not to post or reblog that kind of content, and sometimes i have to ignore the urge to make an exception bc he looks so cute or so hot or whatever in one specific picture. i have to actively choose not to engage, and i do it bc i believe he deserves better than that. and bc i believe that my own entertainment or distraction arent above his personal space or boundaries or whatever. do i wish he would post 24/7 and let me in in his life? YES. do i wish i could know everything he does and stare at his beautiful face everyday? YES. is that healthy? probably not!! lmao. should i fulfill my wishes no matter what? HELL NO.

so yeah, i dont own the truth and i dont want to make anyone feel bad or anything, but i feel like we're the ones encouraging this behavior around him—we aka his own fans. so i do think it's also up to us to point out when it's too much or when we are crossing lines. not with hate or canceling people or embarrassing anyone... just bringing up the conversation and encouraging people to think about it, so maybe they'll eventually see things in a different way.

LMAOOO it’s so bad i feel like looking back my time in high school just sounds unreal?? i sent a picture of my eye to another guy i was friends with (in the same friend group as the other two ironically) to show him my new mascara and no joke he responded with an entire verse comparing my eyes to “the heavens” 😭⁉️ and there was also a point in my senior year when i kinda liked a junior on the soccer team (so bfb reader of me but like. reversed.) but for some reason everyone shipped me with the captain of the soccer team?? like people would harass my FRIENDS asking if i liked him…meanwhile i liked mr junior varsity who didn’t even get playtime 😓 it was so bad too i went to a soccer game and everyone thought i was attending to watch the captain, INCLUDING THE GUY I WAS INTO 😐 i went up to congratulate him after the game and bro fr said “did you see the captain play he was amazing” i just left at that point because what can you even do…these are relatively tame in terms of mira lore sadly KJSHGHDFK this is why i have never had a boyfriend or first kiss or anything like that 💔 they’re all CRAZY 😱

So I’m just re-watching episode 3 and... I really love the scenes between Louis and Jonah and.. it just occurred to me how extremely human these scenes make Louis look? Like his accent getting all strong makes total sense in the context of him talking to someone from his youth, someone who is a Black man as well.

But it it also occurred to me this is the first (and only?!) time we really see Louis flirting? Like we’ve never seen him have this kind of confidence before? He was very much denying and fighting his homosexuality when he meets Lestat (you can see it quite explicitly in a couple of scenes, also him concluding this could never happen again after having sex with Lestat for the first time). But Jonah is somebody he is familiar with, someone he knows is also queer, plus it is already established there is some mutual attraction which is being rekindled. But it is Louis actively flirting with him. Asking if he remembers their shared youth [and their “early fumbles”], which is in part due to Lestat watching them, I guess, getting even with him in a way, calling him out on his “of course”. 

But but BUT what I really wanted to say (sorry for getting off track a bit there ahsdhoas) is... there is no vampire moves to it. There is no indication he’s reading his mind, influencing him in any way with his newly won powers (which he is also still rejecting to a degree at this point). Just some very human “do you remember” and “look at my cool car” (aiosdadhs Louis I can’t even 😂😂😂). It’s just so abusrdly cute and very deeply human in a way? 

And I do kinda see how Lestat is jealous here, because Louis has never been flirting with him like this. And he keeps telling Louis (and us) how much he wants Louis to explicitly say / show he loves him? 

I mean of course it is on the other hand very obvious how Louis wasn’t like that with Lestat when he met him. One part being him struggling a lot more with his sexuality and his shame about it there. But also Lestat is being very active in pursuing Louis. Louis describes it as being hunted (we’re gonna ignore the unreliable narrator level here bc I don’t wanna go this deep here - and also bc I do believe it in general terms, I guess). Like there are parts where we see Lestat taking it kinda slow, including Lilly there to ease Louis into it. But also then getting very insistent, basically jumping a distraught Louis who is in shock over the death of his brother (with he witnessed first hand, his mother blaming him for it etc.), not leaving him alone... But then here on the other hand also Louis isn’t being only passive here. I love how it is very clearly him initiating the kiss with Lestat after Lilly is out of the picture. All these nuances and complexities really are what makes their relationship so compelling I think!

And uh... I guess I also have some thoughts about Lestat courting Louis and Vampire Moves tbh (bc I introduced the absence of them in Louis flirting with Jonah) but this post is already so long 🙈 What it does probably boil down to though (not 100% sure bc I haven’t really thought this through yet). But, in my view, he isn’t even using his Vampire Moves much? Like yeah he is in Louis’ mind and showing some tricks but... more in a showing off way than in a manipulative way? Like whatever Louis is trying to tell us here, he is just really attracted to that French guy. He may also be repulsed by him in some ways (or maybe more by his visceral reaction(s) to him, hm, Louis?) but damn he wants to fuck that guy so bad it makes him look stupid. 

And yeah you might raise the argument that Lestat does use his Vampire Moves when he’s in Louis’ head, pestering him about how he is not gonna be ignored  right after Paul died. But he first walked up to him when the family were on their way to the cemetery and.. was pestering him in quite mundane ways there, you know? Like him being in his mind was driving it to a head a bit more quickly and dramatically maybe but... knowing Lestat he would probably also have been able to be an absolute pest, just showing up again and again, not taking no for an answer (and he basically does so in ep 6, doesn’t he?). So yeah Louis is talking about vampire bonds and mind gifts but... he attracted to him. Big time. I ain’t buying your angle here, Louis.

(Only that of course I kinda do, bc Lestat is a narcissistic manipulative shit in certain ways as well. And doesn’t take no for an answer. Neither in ep 1 nor in ep 6. But then ep 7... weeelll... layers and all 😅😂 But I hope you still get my point.)

My #1 post of 2022

Okay erm... episode 1x05 is certainly very visceral and also very complex and I’ve already seen a lot of interesting thoughts about.. 

I just wanna concentrate on a very small thing and how I read it, and it’s Daniel slapping Louis. Because to me it was very very clear that that slap was a desperate (and very obvious to everyone in the room) attempt of Daniel trying to pretend he has any kind of control over the situation. Because he very clearly has not. Louis could literally tear him apart without lifting as much as his little finger and he kinda knew all along but that scene is when he really *got* it like rationalized it and he was freaking the fuck out about that. 

And Louis and Rashid also understood that for what it was and therefore let it slide in a “yeah let’s all go with the pretense the human can defend himself in any way, shape or form here” when he very very clearly can’t? Like let’s all take a deep breath and pretend it’s fine / nothing of that happened.

Which says nothing about Daniel being an asshole but... man was frightened to death there tbh

I’ve never been like, super into ships? At least not as much as other people on here seem to be. Lately though I’ve been thinking a lot about Brassius and Hassel from Pokémon scarlet and violet… You cannot tell me those two old men aren’t in love after that art class cutscene, c’mon now.

After that I’d probably say Soul/Maka from Soul Eater (a classic) and both rymin and jesslake bc #bringbackinfinitytrain

Lastly, I feel obligated to include Will + Louis from my long time favorite series Getting in Deep by @peachnewt who have been slowburning it for YEARS now and deserve a crumb of shared affection more than any other characters I can think of. Louis has already been in his mouth, just kiss already geez

First Ship:

Ok this question is really going to reveal some deep Kate cringe lore but the very first proper fandom I was ever introduced to was the hetalia fandom back in middle school. I even ran the @hetaliafunnyrandomness blog back in the day, which is a secret I have told absolutely no one up until right now. Anyway gerita forever ✌️ Not only that, but I was also super into homestuck back around that same time period… I was huge meowrails stan. I even made my own nepeta cosplay and painted myself grey and everything. That was uh. Definitely a time.

Last song I listened to:

Luxury Spoon by Van de Shop. It’s the opening to the new anime “Campfire Cooking in Another World With my Absurd Skill” which looks so goofy silly and I’ve been meaning to start watching it. Also the song is a bop.

Last Movie I Watched:

The new Puss in Boots movie. It was actually crazy good, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The animation went crazy, and the characters had so much charisma! The theatre was packed, and everyone was in their late teens/early twenties which made for a pretty fun atmosphere I’ve never really had at the movies before.

Currently Reading:

My fanfic wips that I’ve been procrastinating Ok but to be honest, I don’t really read proper books that much anymore. Which is a huge shame, because I used to devour books as a kid. But the ADHD burnout hit hard in highschool and I’ve been book dead ever since. Most of the reading I do nowadays is within the realm of tumblr and ao3 (I am a sad online person) but I absolutely adore reading all of you guy’s fanfics and original stories!! All of you are so creative, you guys inspire me a lot :)

Currently Watching:

The new season of My Hero Academia with my boyfriend. Yes, I watch my hero academia. Cue the laugh tracks I don’t care it’s a good show. I’m a sucker for goofy silly animated friend groups, ok?
