Sun June 9th 12:41pm
You ever have one of those mornings where one little thing happens and then other little things happen and then you’re a dramatic, emotional mess for the rest of the day?
Today has been a horrible day and it’s not even 1 yet.
I stayed up until 4:30 this morning watching Grey’s. I couldn’t fall asleep until around 5:30. Even then I didn’t really get any decent sleep. So it’s my own fault this morning started out on a bad note.
I Door Dashed a coffee and bagel with the last of my money. Or rather the last of the money my grandmother just recently gave me.
I took a quick shower and used new shampoo and conditioner that I haven’t used in years. The scent reminds me of residential or covid, I can’t tell which although I did go to residential during covid.
Scents like that have a strong hold over me. Ten years later and I still remember the shampoo and conditioner I was using when I first went inpatient. Ironically that’s what I was just using up until today. Now this new set is just brining back memories with the scent.
I got someone else’s order which was annoying but I got reimbursed. I was really, really looking forward to this coffee cause I’ve sworn off Dunks but this new place makes a decent coffee that I’ve enjoyed recently.
So I reordered the same order. I went in the bathroom and my hair looks horrible. I hate my hair. I hate my body. I pull up my sweatshirt and stare sideways at my stomach. Too big. I look back up at the mirror and hate that person in it.
You’re on a psych ward. Why do you care what you look like so much? I’m not trying to impress others, I just hate myself slightly less when my hair doesn’t look like a frizzy mess.
TW: vague SH
All I want to do hurt is myself. That’s all I’m used to, all I’ve been doing. I look down at my hands. The recent cut on one and the tiny little scabs that look like freckles on the other from last Monday. The cut is from 2 weeks ago and it’s still healing, almost healed. I hate that word. Saying your wounds are healing to a self harmer is like telling a person with an eating disorder they look healthy. Healthy equals good, healed equals good. Good equals invalidating when I don’t feel good on the inside. When I don’t want to feel good, when I don’t want to look good. I don’t want to be healed because I don’t feel healed.
I see a message about a failed payment for Klarna. Buying things in installments to try to afford getting myself things I don’t need to make me feel good in the moment. I remember last Summer. Making thousands every month. Paying my grandmother rent, paying my car payment, giving my grandmother extra money for all the times I’ve had to borrow in the past, being able to buy myself a well deserved coffee every single day because I was working every single day and having money left over to go on mini shopping sprees at Aerie, Target, Marshalls…
I was able to do all that and now I’m able to do nothing. I have nothing and I am nothing.
I’m sitting on the bathroom floor and I’m an emotional mess because of what? Getting the wrong coffee? Seeing a message about a failed payment? Not liking my reflection in the mirror? But all of those “problems” are reminders of my past and how amazing my life was. If I ended up self harming and explained the situation to my doctor tomorrow I can just imagine her response. Those are your “problems”? There are bigger problems out there. If you can’t handle those little things in here how are you going to survive out there?
I know what bigger problems are. I handled them before I came in here. I was high functioning before I came in here. I was somebody before I came in here. I had an identity. I had purpose. I had meaning. My life had meaning.
My life is worthless now. I am nobody.
So I'll drink my new coffee. I'll maybe talk to my check in person if she comes back around. Get all these thoughts said outloud. But honestly what difference will it make?
I'm better off just saying I'm fine like usual. Because I am fine. Everything's fine.

also if i can offer advice to anyone:
DO NOT USE PAY IN 4 SERVICES UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.
they add up faster than you think, over the next 4 weeks i have almost $1000 due in them bc i kept using them to put band aids over the gaping wounds of my finances, and im suffering for it now.
you may think youre being smart by splitting a $200 purchase/bill into 4 payments of $50 so you can have more to play with, but then you do it 3 more times, and youve spent the same $200 you didnt initially want to shell out for one purchase, but now youre spending that same $200 every two weeks ON TOP of your already fixed expenses.
i will keep one (zip/quadpay) for emergency use only, as it operates as a universal use credit card and works in a pinch for most bills/emergencies. but when i say i am deleting and canceling klarna, afterpay, sezzle, and affirm, i mean that with my entire chest.
no more.

I am emotionally attached to this phone anyways so I wouldn't want new one as it is but also real 😭 I keep telling myself that it's fine as long as charger is working (Balkan mentality fr). But I am pretty sure it's either my charger or plug socket itself.
Also I was gonna ask in last ask but I am cooking so it slipped my mind but how are you?? I hope you're doing well 😌
And Sebastian is mine I WILL fight, he's literally my perfect man. Plus he's only in his late 20s (I mean technically he's like over 2000) but there are plenty of dilfs and dilf adjacent ocs I will kindly let you take. Plenty of men in my stories to go around!
-🔮
Ooh I’ve seen ways ppl clean their plug sockets! Maybe you can gently use a toothpick or again gently blow on it bc dirt and grim creates a lot of build up which eventually ruins the plug!
I am good sugar!!! I know I say it a lot but it’s genuinely a surprisingly good day for me mentally so I’m living!! Like the other day I forgot to take my meds so I was off balance both yesterday and the day before that but now I’m good, feeling better than I usually do! And I had grah today which is lowkey bomb.com and it’s raining outside and it’s so cozy and nice and I’m thinking of price (as usual) I also ordered 12pack of energy drinks 😭 so I’m picking that up today djdjdjd basically I have 0 on my acc atm but klarna my sweet baby is always there for me see I can’t go a day without energy drinks so what does a legend like me do? I order 12p of them to last me until my paycheck rolls in djdjdjd
How is it going for you sugar? I hope all is well and I’m giving y’all plenty of hugs if it isn’t 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
You can have Sebastian if you tell me more about this werewolf dilf I’d happily hear all about him🧎🏻♂️🧎🏻♂️

Signs An Online Storefront Is A Scam
I was doing more research into this and came across an interesting article about this and though this IceStudios website doesn't meet all of the criteria they meet a lot of it. Check it out:
5. Amateur website design
However, fraudsters tend to move quickly and often don’t want to take too long to build a fake shopping website, as it could easily be identified as fraudulent and get taken down. This is why they tend to opt for simple, inexpensive website templates that come with limited features—often just enough to convince unsuspecting customers that they’re the real deal.
No one can tell me this isn't one of the most amateurish websites they've ever seen for someone who allegedly has a degree in marketing from LCF.
7. Limited contact details
Raise your suspicions if the site only has a fill-in contact form, the customer service email is a random Yahoo or Gmail account instead of a corporate one, or the contact details are non-existent.
I mean this is literally all you get for contact info it's on form and it seems to go absolutely nowhere. Like it's just there for decoration. They don't even have a note up saying how long you should wait for a reply or email addresses/regular addresses/phone numbers or any sort of support for customers.
8. Complex or non-existent returns policy
To ensure they comply with the laws surrounding consumer protection rights, reputable retail brands are transparent about their return and refund policies. Scammers, on the other hand, often don’t bother putting much thought into the return policies that feature on their sites—if they choose to include one at all.
You can read through their entire (and extremely confusing TOS) and never actually find what their return policy is. There are also several red flags in this about how they are not responsible for basically anything including false advertising or if you get your item or not.
9. Questionable payment options
Legitimate brands will always give you the option of paying with traditional and secure methods—including credit and debit cards, cash on delivery, or pay later options, such as Klarna and Afterpay.
You get one payment option with them. Though you can put in any card I suppose since it's GPay they should still have way more than one option here for people who want to buy their stuff.
10. Bad social media
Most legit businesses have some sort of social media presence as it serves as one of the best ways to advertise their products and services. If an online retailer doesn’t have an overt social media presence—or the social media icons displayed on their site lead nowhere—the chances of it being fake are high.
We already know how poorly this is run. Their most recent post is a stolen magazine cover from 1968 that Ice Studios has nothing to do with. They constantly say they are about to drop items then never drop them. They don't ever reply to customers asking questions about when certain items are coming back. They have falsely advertised that camo suit I don't know how many times (it looks extremely different on the actual website).
So the list of how to identify a scam store online is a list of 10 things and Jess's Ice Studio's shop meets 50% of that criteria. I'm not saying this proves it's some kind of scam but some of these things should just be basic knowledge if it's not a scam. If it isn't, then it's run by the most stupid people on the planet and there's no way Jess has a real degree in marketing, that's for sure. [Source Article]
Edit: Forgot to add
1. URL red flags
The fastest way to tell if a site is secure is by checking for HTTPS, with a padlock next to it, in the URL. HTTPS indicates that the site uses SSL encryption, which is superior to HTTP. With HTTPS, nobody between the website and the user can read the data.
No padlock

personal rant under cut
sister asking people for money again but everyone has wised up and is refusing to give it to her. praise the lord. she needs to get real
she lives so above her means like she owes everyone in her life money and is always taking advantage of people so they pay for things for her (when we went on holiday with her she would send my nieces down an hour before her so my mum would end up buying them breakfast/dinner) and i genuinely think she must be in actual debt too cuz she buys so much shit out of catalogues and off klarna and even off other peoples catalogues. her mother in law (unofficially cuz she is not even married to that man rip) offered to put a couch on hers for her (even though they gave them a brand new couch when they moved into their house cuz it was too bug for them but my sister complained and whined about it constantly til she offered to let them use her fucking very lol) and my sister put a fucking ps5 on it without even asking. and it was for her fuckass boyfriend even though she was telling everyone in her life she was scared she hadnt bought my nieces enough (to get them to give her money or offer to buy them stuff) which is actually crazzyyyyyyyyyy actually imagine being this disconnected from reality and selfish
and she started fighting with my mum on that very fucking holiday even though my mum was basically funding it for them cuz they run out of money half way through. why would you go to a foreign country with 5 children when you dont have enough money to last two weeks (cuz you didn't have enough money to book the holiday in the first place) and then fight with the people giving you money???? no offence but if i owed anyone the type of money my sister owes my mum and her dad (who wasn't even there, she got on the phone and verbally accosted him from across the ocean), i would not speak to them the way she does. she owes her dad over £8000 ($10,505.20usd) and she literally calls him everything under the sun when he says no and also i haven't said how old she is yet, she is 35... 35...
and her man is a creep who told my brother he's not attracted to her cuz shes fat. doing all this for a man who would say that to your brother is crazy
she asked me for money even though we don't get along cuz apparently my mum lets me get away with everything (we r both grown ups and i am a grown up who doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs or ever fight with my mum. i have literally been a goody two shoes my whole life so i very much resent the insinuation my mum should be getting me in trouble for whatever it is she thinks i do that is bad... when i am 22 and i can do as i please)
goddddddddddddddddddddddd i'm just so frustrated. this is only like 5% of the problem (her man is also a horrible racist and a creeper who flirts with teenage girls but god forbid i speak!!!) (her man is a good 74% of the problem but they've been together since i was like 5 so i do not have the time or the memory to get through everything)

Small Businesses Can Only Succeed With Our Dollars & Word Of Mouth you know how I know..... Word of mouth is still one of the most influential ways a small business can get its name out there. One of the things I am committed to doing here on XL Tribe is promoting the people that we believe in our products and I just so happen to be wearing two of those brands today one of them being Johnny Bigg and the other one being my good friend Samone over at FLIE. Samone has been working on this brand for over a year if not close to two. He and I talked about a lot of the hurdles and struggle that he had to overcome in order to bring this vision to light. He went multiple through different manufacturers to make sure that everything was in order. So, when you guys see products and it takes a long time to come out just know as a small business most of that is because you don’t have help or the resources. Johnny Bigg That's why it's imperative when the product does come out show them as much support as you can. (Keep in mind Small Businesses Can Only Succeed With Our Dollars & Word Of Mouth) The FLIE bags that he’s selling are very affordable they’re going for $149. There are even payment options like Klarna that allow you to break up payments into four. Small Businesses Can Only Succeed With Our Dollars & Word Of Mouth Now let’s talk about my outfit gifted by Johnny Bigg. They are a small business out of Australia. When I tell you they make fly affordable clothes they go all the way up to size 8X. We know that is partially unheard of in big and tall spaces. Most of the big and tall brand shops stop at 5X if were lucky. So the fact that we’re getting an 8XL brand means that most of us can wear these clothes. I’m super excited about this. So... I need y’all to go check them out so they can become big and blow up and be everything.

Through A Lens Clearly
I’m sure you have seen this company before. You may not have used it, but if you have shopped online going back as far as COVID, you would be doing well NOT to have seen it, as well as some of its competitors. I’m talking about Klarna, the Swedish company that is leading the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) movement.
The offer is low- or no-interest shopping, which is particularly attractive to younger shoppers with less available credit. That offer can be hard to turn down: Buy now in four easy installments.
Of course, what Klarna and the others don’t tell you is that the first payment typically starts right now, meaning you have to pay 25% up front. Oh, and the rest of the payments are every two weeks, not monthly, meaning that you will have paid off the purchase in two months, not four or five as you were imagining.
Klarna makes money, though, if you miss a payment. You’ll be zapped with a late fee. They also make money from the seller, typically 30 cents per transaction, plus a small percentage of the sale price. The retailer gets their money right away. Klarna effectively takes on the credit aspect of a retailer, which could either be in-house or through traditional credit cards. They eventually get their money. Well, that’s if they haven’t extended too much credit to bad debtors. It’s not like they are going to come after you and that new sweater you bought.
Klarna, founded in 2005, shot up to the stratosphere during the pandemic, but has since come back down to earth. Although it did not crash, it has lost 85% of its valuation. But now it is launching a new AI-powered shopping service it hopes will lead to more transactions. After all, transactions are Klarna’s lifeblood.
The new feature focuses on the camera icon in their app. While the app was already used to help shoppers find items, the camera takes search to a new level. Just like Google and Amazon have the camera icon in their app search bars, Klarna is basically taking on the two giants. Given Klarna’s recent return to Planet Earth, this may be a make-it-or-break-it moment.
Of more interest to me is that the future I read about 23 years ago is coming true. It was then I stumbled into a white paper from Accenture, the international consulting firm. They correctly envisioned a world in which we could point a handheld device—which they incorrectly predicted would be a Palm Pilot, something that was all the rage then—at anyone wearing something that caught our eye, and we would be whisked away to a shopping site where we could buy that item. It might sound a little creepy, but I bet the Klarna app would function like this if you wanted it to.
Or, you could take it to the mall and point away, basically “showrooming” in retail land while you let Klarna find a possibly better deal. Oh, I forgot. And interest-free shopping.
The rush to use AI as a shopping tool is fueled by the fact that everyone wants to be in the payments game. There is a lot of money to be made, even with tiny margins. If this were to grow, old-school credit card issuers could find themselves with stiff competition. Of course, there are some limitations. I haven’t seen Klarna at the gas pump yet.
There’s also a slightly devious side to Klarna’s new camera icon. You could easily “out” your friend who is wearing a flashy new suit or dress that they have led everyone to believe they splurged a fortune on. Klarna can lead you to the truth. Then again, you might not be much of a friend if you do that.
Still, I see Klarna’s app and their rivals as collectively having started yet another paradigm shift in how people shop. While Accenture had the vision, it is taking companies like Klarna, Amazon, Google, etc., to usher in that change. Just try not to freak out if you see people pointing their phones at you. They’re just window shopping.

I've barely been unemployed for a month but I can not handle this. I feel so useless. Writing this so I won't convince myself it's a good idea to whine on tiktok. Vent post below.
Today I have:
Written a thousand useless words for a story no one will ever read; it's not a fic, not the story I'm actually excited about writing, it's a nothing intro to a random periphery idea because I started it before and I wanted to revisit from the beginning, but I lost steam at about the 1000 word mark and this isn't the story I want to write.
Reached out to a client to pay up an invoice and been told he's "just really busy this month" and he'll review the scripts "soon" ($200 I won't see any time soon that I am actually explicitly Counting On for my recurring bills which I've unfortunately been basically using Klarna to pay for groceries, so I'm trapped under them.)
Reached out to my former employer because she had claimed she'd need me in October, only to be told that two people are already filling in the jobs she needs done instead of me. I'd feel vindicated (by the fact I was doing the work of two people) if not for the fact it would be really nice to even just have a few hours of work to make money on this weekend. Like, yeah, fuck you, but also fuck me.
Been denied for a loan. Not a surprise necessarily but it would have been nice. Also fuck my credit.
Cried on the couch because I'm hit with the Feel Bads suddenly which means I don't know if I'll be able to pull myself out of this today to get anything else done. I should probably eat more than just an energy drink, but the idea of food is making me nauseous right now.
Also might have started my period. Hoping it's just breakthrough from a late pill but I never really know lol.
And if I can't feel productive today, which I probably won't, I likely won't be able to do anything fun for myself either because I won't "deserve" fun things. And if I don't do anything fun, I'll just feel worse, which makes it even less likely for me to be productive.
I also have somewhere to be at 3pm. Which it's 10 am right now. Which is five hours between now and then but it may as well be 20 minutes, so I can't even pick up a Task unless I know it won't take very long like a few minutes tops, because what if I'm late? What if I forget?
I hate myself, but I should probably shower. I hate everything, but I should probably eat. I don't think everyone hates me, I think they're all ambivalent towards me, like I'm some kind of interesting pest they'll probably just ignore, so I'm probably rested but could use a little nap (which tracks, we had to be up earlier than usual today).

The Australian government considers tightening the rules around Buy Now Pay later schemes. This means that it would be a lot more like a credit card scheme where if you don't have the money the Buy Pay later companies like Afterpay and Klarna can decline someone.
This is a really good move as it encourages us to think more about what we are spending and what we can afford. It also encourages us to make do with the things we have at home. We probably have too much stuff which is not good
Do we really need all that anxiety around paying it back? I once had Afterpay and I could not pay some of it back. So of course I got the late fee
Do you really need this item is what you should ask yourself before you buy! Can I make this item at home? Do I really need this brand or can I substitute and go for something cheaper?
As parents you might need to be tougher on kids and say no to the things they want unless they give a really good reason for it. Don't let your kids spend money on your card without you knowing unless you want to be liable for all costs

They will soon be mine!!
Tbh I probably could have bought a scale figure for the amount they cost me (don’t tell anyone I spent like 170 euro on them) but I also got to try both the ways of buying figures I wanted to (a Swedish store that looked suspiciously similar to another one but they used Klarna for payment and if you aren’t familiar with Swedish stuff that basically means they’re legit to me, and Solaris bc I’ve never bought directly from Japan before and I’m worried about the ä in my address). Miyano was cheaper to buy from a Swedish store (Sasaki is sold out here I guess we love him) and Sasaki was pretty cheap from Solaris
#I’m basically chanting ‘tax return! tax return!’ bc I want both ten count bunnies and I only have enough left for one of them#and I was late with my taxes so 8th or 9th of June is when I could get it if I do#I only paid 70 euros in taxes tho so idk how I could get a lot#my sisters might get garbage presents so I can spend my gift money on anime figures lmao#at least the bunnies aren’t supposed to come out until after I get eventual tax return#and they might be sold out

Angel City FC's Christen Press on the 'Unfair and Unjust' Expectations as a Female Athlete
The soccer star opens up about the impact she hopes to have on aspiring young players while launching her all-inclusive and limited edition clothing line, the New Everyone Club
Forget the old boys' club mentality. Angel City FC's Christen Press is putting her own spin on the idea with her new, limited edition merch collaboration — the New Everyone Club.
The collection is a first of its kind clothing line meant to celebrate and embrace underrepresented groups and create a community where all walks of life — women, people of color, non-binary individuals and other marginalized groups — are invited to the table to mutually empower one another.
"When we had the initial narrative of what is The New Everyone Club, the first thing that comes to mind is, how do we bring this story to life?" Press, 33, tells PEOPLE while announcing her collaboration with Angel City, Klarna and re-inc. "Looking at images of spaces that have been dominated by men like golf clubs and board rooms was part of the initial conception for this."
But she realized that it's not "enough to have an old boys' club and say, 'Okay, let's open the doors to women.' That's not good enough. 'Let's open the doors to people of color. Let's open up doors to queer people.' That's not good enough. We have to design spaces with those groups in minds, and that's the only way you get equity."
The line will start with socks, shorts, shirts and a hoodie with all-inclusive sizing, for anyone to wear.
Press is thrilled with New Everyone Club, but she also laments as a female athlete, there are higher expectations on her to do more outside of the soccer pitch than male athletes.
"I think on the one hand, there is a cerebral understanding that I have that it shouldn't be my expectation as a female athlete to be so much more than an athlete," she says. "But those are the unfair and unjust expectations that are put on women."
Still, Press wants to do her part for young, aspiring players.
"Being inspirational for young female athletes absolutely falls in that category of bringing me purpose and meaning, and so that's the why, and when you have a strong why, then everything else is easy and falls into place," she says.
In order for her message to be heard, the US Women's National Team player knew she had to capture the perfect campaign image for her line. They photographed it in a dark library, a nod to those old boys' club spaces that others typically can't get into.
"Looking at images of spaces that have been dominated by men like golf clubs and board rooms was part of the initial conception for this, and Angel City did a great job collaborating with us on that and then truly blowing it out of the water and how we brought it to life."
And now, as her team tries its best to make the playoffs, Press, who's sidelined due to a June ACL tear, is focusing on spreading positivity.
"It's actually beyond soccer and beyond everything because part of the reason that I was so excited to join Angel City was because the values reflected," Press shares. "Those [of] my own and the ones that I've instilled in my business."
The collaboration first drops exclusively on Klarna Sept. 23 and ranges in price from $38-$168.
With 10 percent of proceeds being donated to the Downtown Women's Center, a non-profit organization fighting to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles, Press knew this special collab was the perfect match.
"It's for all people that are trying to pave a new way forward, who are bucking old norms and status quo expectations and ready to re-imagine a more beautiful future," says the two-time Olympian. "It is absolutely why I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for our brands to come together, to celebrate our beautiful and diverse communities that we've both developed, either inside or close next to the women's soccer world."

Hi I know posting here is sporadic, but life and having to keep up with other social medias is exhausting.
Small update; still Doordashing for my main income because a) having less than 50 listings on Etsy means I don’t get views anymore b) I’m guessing like me people don’t have a lot of disposable income with gas/inflation and that’s totally fine, but still a very harsh difference from 2020 c) my heart is still a bit fucked up, but it’s improving daily and I’m trying to get out and socialize and engage with my community otherwise, go to therapy, try to manage extended family issues, etc
If you can support the shop (I’ll try to post more) that would be greatly appreciated! I’m still catching up on a lot of financial responsibilities since being severely ill last year into 2022. Most of my car repairs are up to date, but my front tires are balding to the point I can see actual threading (they’re being replaced hopefully today) and now that I’m getting back into selling I need to buy a pop up tent, a table, more business cards, etc and groceries would be nice too 😅
I am also usually more active on Instagram and TikTok these days. (Both dhdivination) or you can pop into my discord for more personal updates and friends! Dm me for a link
So below I’m going to highlight some of the things I have available to sell, but an important point is -
Etsy is taking about 15% of each sale - which is low compared to consignment, but still means I’m paying for shipping out of pocket even after you pay for it up front. I would prefer to check out with Venmo or Cashapp to save us both money and fees unless you prefer Etsy or need to use Klarna. Anything $50+ you can use a payment system (PayPal should also allow you to do this, but I won’t personally use it directly for sales unless it is through Etsy). Some items will be slightly discounted if you use Venmo/CashApp.
I still do customs but anything that is not a Hel Mary will most likely be delayed by a week or two.
That’s all for my shop update! Hopefully once things even out everything won’t be a disaster, but I’m just trying to ride the wave and stay afloat while not overdoing it. I really appreciate y’all still being here in whatever fashion you are 🤍

Nina Sundén & Sebastian Siemiatkowski (Klarna Billionaire)
This is Nina Sundén (40), the wife of the Swedish-Polish Klarna co-founder & CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski (40) who has a 10% stake in a $46 billion start-up. Euro ladies likely have used his service online-shopping. So how did they meet?
Quite traditionally: They went to the same prestigious business school in Stockholm, Sweden, he first saw her there and considered her an “extremely good-looking, super-smart girl, and I felt like the biggest nerd in history, so I would never dare talk to her.” (https://www.wsj.com/articles/klarna-ceo-sebastian-siemiatkowski-home-11632400195) As the story goes, they reconnected a few years later at a costume party and started dating. Taking their presented story with a grain of salt (she’s a marketer, lol), these things remain:
1. Nina is good-looking, tall, thin, fit not skinny, with a natural, outdoors-y, unassuming look: A quintessential girl-next-door. Not a bombshell or baddie. Interestingly, a brunette in a country known for its (light) blondes, though this probably doesn’t mean anything.
2. Nina is an interesting personality. She is passionate about photography, including wildlife photography and has charitable interests e.g. creating a lion wildlife photography book, selling it and donating its $200,000 profits to conservation efforts in the region. That’s impressive. She also enjoys travel and likes architecture and interior design (their house is decorated by her.) Little more is known about her because she is quite private with no public social media and I couldn’t find English profiles written about her. Maybe there is more in the Swedish news.
3. Nina is a highly-skilled professional. After graduating from a top-ranked business school (Stockholm School of Economics), she worked as a head of marketing at a smokeless tabacco company for five years. Sebastian respected her skills so much he asked her for help: She ran Klarna’s marketing for a time and is credited with making it more attractive to it’s millenial customer base.
4. Nina is a family person but doesn’t seem overly traditional. They have three children. Interestingly, by the time they married they’d already had a toddler. This indicates flexibility. Since start-up founders are notorious for over-work, she (and possibly familial or hired support) will have had and continue to have the lion’s share (ha!) of the child-rearing. We don’t know if she currently works or if she actually kept her name or took his.

There is little information about her to come by. These are my conclusions:
1. Looks are not everything. You just need to be good-looking “enough”, as a wise tumblr-user once put it. Then your character becomes a priority.
2. This is NOT a case of hypergamy, as technically/arguably he was a lower social class than her during their courtship (child of poor, Polish immigrants who did menial work). Presumably, Nina is at least middle-class or very good at faking it because her hobbies are unrealistically expensive. It likely took time till he outearned her.
3. I need to get in the room where it happens! Access trumps all else. After all, they just went to the same school, no great maneuvering required. How can I shape my daily life to put me in the same spaces?
4. I need make sure to have actual, useful skills to benefit my partner (in addition to beauty, eroticism and my natural interests). I’ll get back to you on what they will be.
Questions I have:
Sebastian is a Polish refugee. Going by her classically Swedish last name, one might assume Nina’s family and history is anchored in Sweden. Was part of her allure the social recognition he’d receive being with an All-Swedish girl?
Did her network matter? Raising start-up funds includes a round for investments from friends and family. Did she have pull in that area? Was there financial benefit to associating/being with her?
Was there a time during which Sebastian lacked funds and she supported both of them with her corporate salary? How flexible are the gender roles, especially since Sweden is touted as the most enlightened and progressive country on the continent?
Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, please! :)
