in the manga this is within a single evening. sometime after midnight to close to dawn. so at least 6 hours.

thats not a lot of time.

so why is bono posing as owl in the black whale if, at max, he has 5 and a half hours (cutting off 30 minutes for transportation). dawg. you are meant to be espionage for however long it takes chrollo to take his sweet time to get up there. that could be days.

out of curiosity, what would you want out of revamped gregory and vanessa models?

oh dont even get me started. I think my number 1 want is literally just. fixing their faces. they could keep everything else the exact same and I'd be fine if they made their faces not weird and alien looking.

Cassies hw2 model was designed after her ruin cutouts. theres 2 pieces of Gregory official art in ruin that I think they would (and I would want them to) design his model around, which are the missing poster and cutout with cassie comforting her. i think they're closer to how his face is supposed to look

and he also doesnt look overly young in them. cassies new model just looks like 'kid' and not like, mistakeable for an 8 year old or something. they're supposed to be 12 and Cassies remodel rlly captures that. I really want Gregory's remodel to make him look older, bc I think they didnt know his age yet when they made his SB model, but they should now with all the ggy refs. making him look similar to Cassies models level of age is a big one for me too

another one is HAIR!!! they upgraded cassies hair in the hw2 model by adding extra strands and changing the shape and style and stuff! making Gregory's hair look less like, stiff and clay and sims 4 maxis match would be awesome. and this applies for vanessa too. her ponytail is so rigid lmao and she uh. doesnt have much hair on her model let's just say

as for vanessa, besides fixing her face, I think restoring her old proportions in her art pre-SB is a big deal. their modelers modeled her body to keep the big muscular chest but only in her boobs 😒 giving her back her muscular bulky frame would be huge! and it's not that big of an ask bc they changed Cassies proportions in her hw2 model to look better

also obviously a new outfit. she can't wear her security uniform post-game lol but that feels obvious. I'd die if we got a new outfit for her but I'd be satisfied if they just kept her purple flannel outfit at the end of sb. this also applies to Gregory too. if we got a new outfit for him in a new model I'd pass away. even if it was just a jacket on top of his sb outfit I'd die and throw up and descend into hell

also I already said this but giving vanessa more hair is big. plz give her more bangs and strands and an actual top of her head I miss her tailcoat ponytail

ok you know what im gonna say it with my full chest. literally nobody talks about bendy (the character) like who he actually is and ive been tired of it since the old game ended. i think hes genuinely one of the most incorrectly fanonized characters like ever at this point. and i genuinely believe it changed the actual canon and it bothers me a lot.

as for the physical version of him/ the ink demon— in the original batim game there was literally a whole plot point about bendy being non-human and how he came out of the machine physically and mentally sloppy compared to the other creations. hes not a fully fledged-out person and that’s LITERALLY an entire section of the original game. he has no human soul or mind, hes sentient but about as much as a gorilla. he attacks like a zombie or an animal with instinct and not like an angry human being. he cant speak because his mouth is fake and he cant walk properly because his limbs are liquid sludge— hes literally an abomination— a mockery of actual human life. its crazy to even call him the “villain” of the story because he doesnt have the thinking ability to genuinely be malicious. its like calling zombies the villains of zombie movies, they cant be because they dont have the brain function to be.

a lot of people ignored the obvious fact that he isnt human-like so they could sexualize him, which isnt as bad as sexualizing an actual animal— im not claiming that— but what bothers me is how the creators made him MORE HUMAN to lean towards these people and ill never think otherwise. yall can argue with me or call me chronically online, but bendy WASNT able to speak or was human-like at all until the dark revival, which was so obviously fan service its not even funny.

FIRST OFF i think gon is the best possible mc for hunter x hunter, especially when it comes to learning to the new world with him and what it means to be a hunter as the show is called hunter x hunter (even if we dont really see that much hunting being done... besides gons dad ofc).

also gon at the start of the show is considerably one of the weakest characters of the cast so far (besides leorio-) and he's also one of the sweetest with him bonding to literally everyone and anyone that he could. also going back to him being weak asf go back to him and his fight with hanzo

for a moment youre genuinely scared for him as yeah... HES GONNA GET HIS ASS BEAT. and he does. as he's facing a grown man, but he doesnt back down and insists on fighting and winning the fight against hanzo somehow some way. and soon enough... he crushes hanzo's will to fight him and he does win. not without a few scratches though... a few-

and rolling this back a bit you have his moment with hisoka where hisoka just gives him his win on a silver platter even though gon doesnt feel like hes earned it, and technically... he hasnt. hisoka's main thing with gon (besides being a PDF file) is that he sees that gon has potential and he's waiting for that to come out.

soooo yada yada yada you got the heavens arena arc and gon AND killua end up learning nen and how to use it. but personally to me its more of an impact to see gon learn it as you know that hes not the strongest fighter out there. in fact during the hxh exam we see him lose most of his fights with peple. so to see him gain the ability to use nen means a lot more than seeing killua learn how to use it since killua was already established to be the stronger character

then you see him fight people on the higher floors and its pretty damn cool.

THEN HE PUNCHES HISOKA!!!!

THEN YOU HAVE GREED ISLAND. and they meet bisky and gon struggles with her training, a lot more than killua, he cant hold the rope while asleep and etc. you see him slowly catch up to killua and its satisfying to watch. as personally i feel like killua was apart of gon's journey through the majority of the anime in order to compare and contrast the two of them. killua can do this? gon cant. gon is more sympathetic? killua isnt... until the dynamic slowly switches at the chimera ant arc and literally everything changes

killua has become more and more human since he met gon, while on gon's side even without meruem (gon and meruem mirror each other in one becoming more human and the other becoming more like a monster) we see him slowly descend into becoming a monster just by basing it off of killua someone who gon helped into becoming a better person

and gon is the one who kills pitou not to mention as he's the one who's most upset about kite's death. AND DONT FORGET THAT THIS ALL STARTED WITH FINDING GON'S DAD.

now if killua was the mc his story would start out with him probably stabbing his mother and milluki and running away from home after whatever happened. we'd also probably get a closer look into the dynamics of the zoldyck's and as interesting as that'd be... it wouldnt be if we knew them from the start

the most interesting thing about the zoldyck's is how much that we dont know about them and we get that from gon's perspective. you dont know much about them, the butlers and etc. NOT TO MENTION ALLUKA. alluka was always meant to be this "thing" that none of the zoldyck's acknowledged and to have killua talk about her existence at the start (ad he probably wouldve done) wouldve killed the mystery surrounding her and her powers.

then you have illumi and their dynamic is exposed in the hunter exam and yeah its terrifying. especially seeing it from killua's perspective, but you wanna know what makes that scene so good? you dont know who illumi is yet, you dont know that he's killua's brother and you dont know that killua's going to lose or give up. there is the potential for him to fight back because we as the audience dont know how powerful illumi is.

starting from killua's pov probably wouldve revealed that yeah... HES PRETTY FUCKING POWERFUL. one of if not the most powerful manipulator's in the entire series and without a doubt he's easily one of the top nen users not only in his family but in hunter x hunter in general. and to slowly get that reveal puts more and more into perspective about the zoldycks, killua, their dynamic, and just why killua didnt stand up against him like he did the other members of his family.

NOW DONT GET ME WRONG. i love killua, i absolutely adore him and while he isnt my favorite character in the anime he's definitely up there. but him being the mc would be more like fanservice (NOT IN THAT WAY) than anything else. killua's interesting because you dont know much about him at the start and keeping it like that while slowly revealing more and more is what makes him more and more interesting

especially with the whole transmuting his nen into electricity thing. it puts more into perspective about how badly he was tortured by his family and adds more shock value to the readers/watchers of the series.

then im going to the chimera ant arc about gon becoming more of a monster while killua becomes more human and more caring about him and his friends, while killua is without a doubt the a HUGE player in this arc he's not the main person that youre focusing on. you focus more and more on gon descending into darkness as he tries to hold it all together

AND THIS IS EMPHASIZED DURING THE STORM OF THE CASTLE (palace??? ugh whatever). there is something different about gon the entire time and suddenly he went from bubbly to straight up SAD and ANGRY and HIS ASS IS GRIEVING

not to say that killua isnt but killua's taking everything a LOT better than gon is from the outside (KEY WORD BEING ON THE OUTSIDE) and he's able to control his outbursts. the only real time when he lets it out being when hes confronting ant palm and basically says and admits that gon has changed and that hes getting worse and that hes worried for him

AND THIS IS A CHARACTER MOMENT FOR KILLUA DO NOT GET ME WRONG. but it also emphasizes how worried he is about gon and how he cares about gon. his character and his actions in this arc is HEAVILY centered around gon. gon who when confronting pitou was cold about komugi who was injured. gon who didnt care if komugi died. gon who was blaming himself for the loss of kite.

killua was worried about gon

and this matters because the chimera ant arc??? ITS ONE OF THE BIGGEST IF NOT THE BIGGEST IN THE ENTIRE SERIES (with yorknew possibly taking the place of it, or the one after it with killua and alluka... i cant remember the name-)

well kurapika holds the closest ties to the major villains of the series aka the phantom troupe and thats the main reason for me. also hunter x hunter couldve easily been a vengeance story from his pov and while i dont think it would be that good compared to what we got it still easily couldve worked out especially with his parallel being leorio and stuff like that.

kido has been carrying the pressure of trying to be The Big Sister replacement after losing 2 big sisters of their own, seto is sort of projecting all his insecurities and pain onto helping mary and obsessing over how much worse she had it as if that somehow takes away his right to also be upset and kano is. (gestures at his whole thing) i think post str kano is the most messed up of them all and i mean ALL the dan, even more than ayano or shintaro LMAO

because while ayano and shintaro are sort of clumsily tripping and stuff in the way of healing they're still in that path while kano is actively spiraling down bc he's so used to being miserable and now he's gotten everything he's ever wanted and he feels so undeserving and guilty and lost and alone. and ayano is here BEGGING to be relied on and needed but kano KNOWS BETTER than to do that because he knows ayano is hurting too and in the same way she is sucking it up for his and their siblings' sake he is doing the same for her. its such a mess. i love emotional constipation.

kano is on his way to a very very VERY ugly meltdown like im talking about a sort of um maybe 💀 attempt. YKNOW WHAT I MEAN. erm... ayano too actually but i think she is most likely to seek help before it gets to that point especially since teehee she's. done that before. also ayano is sort of distracting herself with her relationship mess with shintaro bc that's ridiculous and its EASIER to be hurt about that than everything else. like somehow this silliness sort of saves her LOL not to sidetrack to shinaya but i think a big reason theyre so fucking messy is not only the obvious reasons but also they find comfort in that because that way they can be primarily worried about stupid shit like bwaaa u cuddle with ur asuna body pillow and not me instead of THE TIMELINES...WEVE DIED 1000 TIMES.... i think she ends up breaking down to mekatrio and they all hold her while she cries the same way she held them while they cried when they reunited :(( i think when they reunite ayano is crying but Not sobbing while the mekatrio is like a fucking mess clinging to her and stuff. kind of like when shintaro goes get ayano like u dont have to fight alone anymore. ayano is like that to her siblings when they reunite she wants to be strong and let them cry like little kids again because they've been getting by alone for so long

i think breakdowns happen like. seto first, then kido second, then ayano, then kano (and kano's is UGLY like something very bad happens for this to take place)

also there is something so interesting to be explored in post str mary and ayano. ayaki is still the same person as ayano yknow, kinda... like everything ayaki does is something ayano in this route is capable of as well. and maybe in the worst part of her ayano resents mary even if she knows she shouldn't, and she's also troubled over seto obsessing over her so much instead of taking care of his own baggage. teehee.

surprisingly kido is the most put together of the 4 but theyre rather like a pressure bomb abt to go off LOL i think their breakdown begins through them getting REALLY REALLY MAD and exploding at everyone. it could start with something like kano putting the empty milk back in the fridge instead of throwing it away LMAO also kido's self steem is basically nonexistent and relies completely on trying to be this Cool Leader so a breakdown is absolutely forbidden. but it happens♥️ everyone needs therapy 👍👍👍

(how the fuck do you even summarize it briefly my feelings are large and want to burst out of my chest)... ougis sinister leading araragi down dark paths and poking at his past and knowing the deal but playing-dumbery and antics are just amazing. and shes so cool as she does it how did she get to be that cool! evil and cool.... thats the summary but the scene i would want to talk about is of course the showdown with hanekawa (the first one i guess). uh bc its like really funny? the showdown is great its such a fun buildup of tension and they're like passive-aggressive/plain-aggressive-but-still-loosely-following-social-boundaries trying fighting each other... its great. i think in the light novels when hanekawa says 'but i would have done a better job' ougis smile freezes. you can hear the glass break. you can just hear her in her head shes going like ".......................bitch,? so that's how you wanna play it?" i wish that got animated sometimes. and also of course. it ends how it ends.

its also so good how she stands there after like. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.......... usually ougi is the one doing things to people and its funny but this is also just so hilarious its done so well.

i also want to talk about otori, because ougi in otori is very cool. my first time watching otori i was very in tune with nadeko so hearing ougi do a kinda takedown of her was a very interesting experience for me. she was very sinister and severe and foreboding...... very fun. and of course when it turns out she's been tugging at the strings..... heeheehee THATS SO COOL. i mean looking at these scenes like some of these shots are so cool.

i never see people talking about this one but the scene in hitagi rendevous in owari ge that happens on the second episode after the ending is like. oogh. its like the big instance before the finale proper in ougi dark where the show starts fucking slapping you in the face screaming "PAY ATTENTION THERE'S SOMETHING IMPORTANT HAPPENING HERE"

like this shot this FUCKING SHOT. is it just me? is it just me am i the only one who feels acute pain at this? there's something about it thats just so............... like somethings wrong. like thats what i feel like something is wrong and im concerned for this person you feel me?

shes so tired trying to get his attention and do her job and all that shes pressing the doorbell laying down... and then she sees him and goes like 'im exhausted' and just keeps girlbossing like. and like asks araragi (from her perspective) not to kill her and hes just like no and shes just like damn that sucks oh well lol. like imagine being alive for 6 months having no home (shes laying on the god damn nameplate of his house augh...) and knowing full well you're about to die, the things youre seeing now will be some of the last things you ever experience before your consciousness is gone forever (bc she isnt going to hell shes being erased). that's so cool and awesome (horrifying). anyway ougi doesnt care shes got a job to do X) (shes so insane i love her)

also that home thing and the tiredness thing is one of the big things i wrote ougi stay about so ill just take the chance to plug it if ur still reading this go read my fic! i like it a lot i think its nice. its mostly funny but it also talks about this stuff too a bit. go read it

dont know whether to count the different parts of this scene as separate or not but i think it shouldnt be separated bc its all important to the scene and that is OF COURSE: ougi dark starting with ougi's convo with tsukihi (the build up… it's oddly calm so you feel somewhat reassured but you KNOW something's going to happen… the buildup of tension starts here and keeps rising). the contents of that conversation, near the end are like, really cool things to be included because up until that point we still dont have SO much insight as to who ougi is but she opens up a bit to tsukihi here and its kind of a paradigm shift to see.

there's something so poignant about this fraught mood...

such an ougi way of talking about one's feelings about oneself...

at least for me when i was watching i was already like, kinda rooting for ougi bc i wanted bad things to happen to araragi (lol) but also like. ougis just so insanely entertaining and fun that like, uh obviously i would root for her here. so when this fun silly funny little fun character starts bustin out the:

its like woah wait huh back up hold on a second there. i care you>???????

like literally the whole confrontation with ougi and araragi it is just like oh no since when did i care about this character so much oh no oh god oh fuck...

like how come they gotta hit me with all these gut punches what did i do to deserve this

like whats so cool about it is with how its directed and the score (and the voice acting!! the seiyuu did an INCREDIBLE job) and everything you can tell shes scared but like again shes actually insane so she's just gonna be like yeah this is the right way for things to happen

(it seems a lot like she did all this wanting the outcome of her losing to araragi, at least to me. hanekawa also says so in the commentary tracks of ougi dark. so thats another layer. theres so many layers... i dont know how many of these layers people pick up on but by golly do i pick up on them)

and of course he saves her (imagine if he didnt? id kill him. WAIT ACTUALLY THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE LIKE "ARARAGI SHOULDNT HAVE SAVED HER" NEVER GO ON THE REDDIT DISCORD SERVER FOR MONOGATARI PEOPLE ACTUALLY THINK THIS WAY IM LITERALLY GOING TO KILL THEM ITS SO. ok i wont talk about it), and she gets mad and its like i KNEW you were putting up a bold front you had emotions this whole time and then its like. oh you had emotions this whole time and you were totally aware of everything and just kinda had to deal with it thats kinda fucked up (i think a lot about how being an oddity born of self-criticism necessarily means you have to be self-aware and how that leads to ougi being a kind of exceptional type of oddity and like how it ties into identity and like... all that stuff). but the emotional breakdown/outburst is so good... augggghhghhh its so good 😭😭😭

(like i think sometimes about how if they had done this wrong, it would feel out of place for ougis generally not-emotion-showing character/not emotional in general character, but they did it so well... its so good)

and of COURSE to cap off this perfect beautiful wonderful scene we get THE GWEH AKA THE PEAK OF FICTION. IT DOESNT GET BETTER THAN THIS. NO IM NOT JOKING. LITERALLY WHEN I SAW THIS I HAD AN EPIPHANY. NOT JUST BECAUSE ITS ADORABLE BUT BECAUSE ITS LIKE HOLY SHIT INTUITIVELY A PART OF ME UNDERSTANDS. THIS *IS* **THE** BEST CHARACTER. and i went to go pace around my room being hype about it. im not joking really bc the novel talks about it being like "an utterly unattractive true-to-life" groan or something that proves she has "substance" which is like... yeah! she's her own person! not just made of lies or w/e!! the gweh actually ties everything together in such a perfect way and i am physically incapable of remaining in bad mood after i see it. i saw it the first time and i was like :O -> :) -> :DDDDDDDDDD and that hasn't changed since it will always put a smile on my face 😌

also also ougi in zoku owari is incredible too so good. the TEEHEE THE TEEHEE IS SO AMAZING. like YEAH!!!! YOURE A LITTLE ROTTEN PRANKSTER TEEHEE!!!!!! YEAH!!!! TRICKSTER TIME TIME TO BE TRICKY A TRICKY LITTLE TRICKSTER YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! and we get more classic ougi exposition/explanation..... havent talked about this as much but their ideas are so interesting.... theyre so interesting and cool i would pay to hear them share ideas about things.............. anyway one other thing i really appreciate about this scene is the shared intimacy between ougi and araragi. it feels more personal yk. this sorta comfortable, natural, thoughtless intimacy is something i absolutely adore about their dynamic but it basically only happens right here in zoku owari, and not even so much in the light novel version. its interesting... i want to write about it. im GOING to write about it mark my words

also honorable mention to ougi in hanamonogatari. theres nothing like big enough about these scenes to mention in comparison with the rest of them bc theyre so short but. BOY OUGI YEAHHHHHHHHHHH HES TRANS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i saw that and i was like >:) yeah kanbaru wym hes been a boy this whole time >:)))) don't misgender him god...... >:))))))))))))) (AND HE LOOKS SO COOL THEY ANIMATED HIM SO COOL BC HES IN BOYMODE HES SUCH A BOY FUCK YEAH)
