imagine percy getting suspended from school and using his off time to visit chb. imagine chiron assigning percy a random solo quest in california that he needs to complete within a week. imagine percy completing the quest in a couple of days and deciding to use the rest of his time to visit annabeth after she gets home from school. imagine after that quest, percy will head over to chb during christmas break and spring break hoping chiron will give him another solo quest. imagine chiron purposefully giving percy really easy solo quest based in california because he knows he's using it as an excuse to visit annabeth. imagine chiron being okay with it because he understands annabeth's home situation and wants her to be happy, and percy makes her happy. imagine chiron being okay with it because he understands percy doesn't have many people to hang out with during the school year and he knows he and annabeth have a special bond. imagine chiron just letting percy and annabeth be kids.

Pairing: Grover Underwood x Black!fem!reader
Synopsis: after years of dancing around each other, they both finally gain the confidence to confess.
Warnings: none, y/n is daughter of Apollo, implied bisexual y/n, this takes place post-HoO
Tumblr media
You have been at Camp Half-Blood for seven years now, but never in those seven years have you once gained the confidence to confess your feelings to your long-term crush, Grover Underwood.
It’s been a year since Gaea was defeated and summer was coming to an end. You’d be leaving for college in New Rome with Annabeth and Percy. You’d said your goodbyes to your siblings, a ton of them were crying and begging for you to stay just a while longer.
Will had to scold them for you, making you chuckle. Though, before you leave, Chiron decided to host a party in honor of the first demigods at Camp Half-Blood to be going to college in New Rome.
You were dressed in a long and elegant golden satin, your h/c curls pulled into a tight bun. Will was currently doing your make up, his focused face was just the most adorable thing to you. (Not that you’d ever admit it to him). “And done.” He said, putting everything away in your small make up bag.
“You look so beautiful, Y/N.” Annabeth said, she was getting herself ready in the Apollo Cabin. She wore a long dark red glittery dress and her black hair was done in goddess braids. “Thanks, Annabeth.” You said to your best friend. “Trying to look good for Grover I see.” She teased, making you roll your eyes at the girl.
“Whatever, shut up, I didn’t get all dressed up for him.” You said to her. Though, the thought of him seeing you in something like this made your heart race. “What about you getting all dressed up for Fish-for-Brains?” You teased, you watched her face flush slightly. You laughed at her reaction, shaking your head slightly.
The party was held by the lake, as you and Annabeth arrived there, the scenery left both of you breathless. The nymphs had done an amazing job at decorating and cooking. There were streamers and fairy lights shining soft colors hanging from around the nearby trees, a group of water nymphs were in charge of the music. And you saw Juniper handing out drinks to people.
You saw Percy talking with Connor Stoll. “Look,” you tapped Annabeth on her shoulder. “There’s Percy, let’s go over to him.” You said to the slightly shorter girl, pulling her softly by her arm. Connor noticed the two of you walking over and tapped Percy. As he turned around, the boy’s face went as red as Annabeth’s dress.
You gave Annabeth a smirk, even though they’d been dating for years, Percy still acted like a giddy middle schooler when it came to her. “Annabeth, hey, you uh- you look amazing.” Percy said, trying to find the words that best complimented the girl’s attire. “Thanks Percy, you look nice too.”
You went and stood beside Connor Stoll who gave you an amused smile. “You picked that dress out for her, didn’t you?” He asked you. “I did, Annabeth was never really the type of girl to be into all that glitz and glam. So, when she came to me asking for help, I decided to give it to her. Only, under the condition she’d help me with my senior portfolio.”
You said to the younger boy with a smile, crossing your arms over your chest. He let out a chuckle, “yep, that sounds like something you would do. Anyways, you have a good eye for fashion, you look nice.” He said to you. “Thanks, you do too, I suppose.” You said to him. “You wouldn’t have seen Grover around, have you?” You asked him.
Connor smirked at your question, which made you sigh in annoyance. “Don’t look at me like that, because I know exactly what you’re thinking.” You said to him. “Out of all the people here at camp, I never expected you to fall for someone like Grover. Not judging, but I always imagined you with someone like Clarisse or any Ares kid. Your personalities just match more.”
You pretended to gag. “Ew, what? Clarisse La Rue? There’s no way in hell I’d be caught dating that crazy girl. She’s too obsessed with pleasing her dad and being the best fighter at camp to understand how to love someone. Don’t get me wrong, she’s very attractive and I would date her, just under different circumstances.”
“When you say ‘different circumstances’ do you mean if you weren’t practically in love with Grover?” He asked you with teasing smile, nudging your arm slightly. You rolled your eyes at the shorter boy. “This right here is why you don’t have a girlfriend.” You said to him. “I’ll go find Grover on my own.” You said, walking away. “It’s not like you have a boyfriend or girlfriend either!” Conner Stoll yelled out to you as you widened the distance between you two.
You’d been searching for Grover for an hour now, and no one had seen him around. Sure, parties were never really his thing, but you thought if he wasn’t coming to see you, he’d at least come to see his best friends, Percy and Annabeth. You were starting to give up hope on seeing him at all tonight.
You walked through a secluded part of the forest, softly humming to yourself, now holding your heels in your hands. You’d never been a nature person until Grover, at first you only pretended to be interested in it to have something in common with him. Over time though, you started to genuinely enjoy it yourself, often walking through this part of camp to clear your mind when stressed.
You caught a soft light in the corner of your eyes and decided to walk towards it. Your footsteps quiet as you went to inspect whatever it was. Your eyes widened as you saw Grover sitting on a log, a small lamp beside him. You forgot satyrs tended to have great hearing as Grover turned around to face you. “Y/N?” He said.
“Grover…hey.” You said quietly, walking over and sitting next to him. “Hey.” He said back. He was wearing a dark green suit, his brown skin and dark curly hair glowed softly in the light. ‘So he was at the party, I must’ve just not noticed him then.’ You thought to yourself. “Why are you out here by yourself?” You asked the boy. He smiled at you.
“You know parties have never really been my thing, I mainly came because Percy asked me to.” He said truthfully. “Oh.” You said, a slight pang in your chest. ‘So he didn’t come to see me.’ “I also came to see you too.” He said, looking at you with his usual smile. “Oh.” You said once more, your cheeks slightly burning.
“Sorry, I had too overwhelmed with the setting before I could actually see you, so I came out here to calm down.” He said apologetically. “It’s okay, Grover, I wouldn’t want you to be uncomfortable there waiting on me anyways.” You told him. “Thanks.” He said. There were a couple beats of silence before Grover broke it.
“Sooo..college huh? And in New Rome as well.” Grover said, a bit awkwardly. “Yep, I’m also going to help Reyna find a new augur for Camp Jupiter since Octavian’s gone now.” You said, playing with your hands in your lap. “I guess while I’m gone, you’ll be bringing more kids into camp, right?” You asked, even though you already knew the answer.
He nodded. “Yea, I wish I could come with you, Percy, and Annabeth though.” You smiled and looked down at your hands. “I wish you could too. I mean, we’ve always just been a little group, the four of us. So now it feels weird not having you there with us.” You told him. “Yea, I feel the same way, it’s going to be weird not stopping you and Percy’s arguments anymore.”
“Y/N/Grover I-“ you both spoke at the same time, turning towards each other. “You can go first.” You both said in unison again. You then sighed in annoyance. “How about I go first?” You offered. Grover nodded in agreement. “We leave tomorrow morning and..I didn’t want to leave without telling you how I feel about you, Grover.” You said softly.
“Grover, I love you, I’ve liked you ever since you helped me with my chores in the strawberry fields. You’re also kindhearted and easy to talk to, I feel like I don’t have to have a constant wall up around you, guarding my feelings.” You told him. You felt his hand touch yours.
“I like you too, Y/N, ever since I saw you stand up to Ares alongside Percy.” He said with a smile. “You’re so much more different than me, yet it feels so right to be with you. Your fiery personality and your passion for being a great fighter are what makes you, you, and I love it. I’m glad to have been by your side these past seven years.” He told you. “I’m sorry I wasn’t with you during the party.”
You turned your head towards the lights in the distance, you still hear the faint music from it. You stood up and brushed off your dress, holding your hand out for him. “Well, we don’t need to be at a big celebration party with all the other campers. We can have one right here, just you and me.” You said as he grabbed your hand and you helped him up.
Grover placed his hands on your waist and you wrapped your arms around his neck. You both swayed slowly to the faint music in the background. “Does this make us boyfriend and girlfriend now?” He asked you. You laughed softly as his question and placed a kiss on his cheek. “Yes, Grover, yes it does.”
Your moment was cut short by a certain black haired girl and blonde boy standing by the trees. “Ugh, finally!” Annabeth said as Percy chuckled at her side, a hand on her shoulder. “Go away you guys!” You yelled at them, Grover laughed, feeling slightly embarrassed.

This might be a genuine Controversial opinion of mine. Really because I Always see The Black Percy fanart or POC Percy and I love them, even though i still love the book version...it had me thinking...
But I highly think that if Percy were Black or Any minority I Doubt he would Take Annabeth's Bs or let her treat him the way she does
What do you think?
I have mixed opinions on this. I think it's a bit controversial but not for the reasons you are going for. Bear with me.
I think all this diversity propaganda has warped our perspectives on characters and their roles. Rick is shit at diversity roles cause he is trying explicitly to write them as diversity characters. I mean yes coming from a certain race, culture or ethnic group does play a large part of who you are but most authors make that the entire point or personality of their character.
In a world like Percy Jackson, where far greater things are at stake, I don't think a character's race or ethnic group should be prioritized so much. In fact, their motivations, how they choose to cope with their trauma and insecurities, how they love, how they fight is what makes a character.
In contrast to Rick, Leigh Bardugo writes tons of diverse characters who are just that, characters in her eyes. It's not because she needs to meet some quota or write diversity for the sake of it. She writes as it comes to her, and I think anyone would appreciate that far more.
Now, coming to your point, I don't think Percy being a minority or person of color would have changed him much. Because the points that you are trying to make should already be valid for Percy as he is.
He had an abusive stepfather who not only physically and mentally abused him but also always harassed him for money. Percy has grown up in that environment, he knows abuse well.
Percy can't stand bullies or people who impose their will, which is a fundamental part of his character which we are actually introduced to very. early on
Not to mention, Percy grew up in the streets of NYC all on his own, also moving from one boarding school to another. He is seasoned player when it comes to cops or law enforcement.
Plus I headcanon that all demigods have issues with any kind of normal organization or law enforcement cause what explanation are they supposed to give for their actions when the person across from them can't fathom it, see it or let alone imagine it. So they are all kind of in similar situations despite whatever culture or ethnic group they are from.
Percy's actions are also a reflection of his self-esteem. That's the thing driving his behavior. Percy wouldn't stand for this from a stranger, but Annabeth is his best friend. The first person he got close to in Camp. She represents his demigod life in a way. To him, the fact that someone like her wants to date him seems unbelievable. He goes in that relationship or any relationship feeling inferior. Then he begins dating her, and he desperately wants to meet her expectations cause Percy Jackson can't take her walking out on him, not because he disappointed her. Cause what sort of shit boyfriend is he if he can't even stand and accept Annabeth as she is. So he takes it as it is. He takes her demands, her violent way of expressing her emotions and her need to be in control. She wants to go to University and study, she wants to be involved in the demigod business, wants to be the heart of it and Percy isn't about to leave her to be on her own. He is Percy, he would go to the ends of earth and beyond for people he loves and cares for. So he goes along with that too.
The question shouldn't be what it would take Percy to be done with Annabeth's bullshit or what would finally make him snap. That shouldn't be the focus.
The focus should be at what point will Annabeth realize that she is stifling Percy, leashing him. (Before you snap, percabeth stans hear me out, not my words. Literally a bloody conversation from Mark of Athena, in which Piper word to word says and agrees with Annabeth that someone needs to leash him and Annabeth can do it.)
And I love how the fandom just glossed over it. What the hell??? Are you people blind? How is that a healthy relationship??
Annabeth should realize how badly she is hurting Percy or how badly she has misunderstood him. How awful her actions have been and how her actions are enabling his lack of self esteem. (For confused people who think Annabeth can do no wrong, please check other posts. There's nothing wrong with admitting that your favorite character is flawed and can make mistakes. )
And then if she truly loves him they should separate, go their ways, still be friends but not romantic partners. Or they should go on a long break in which Annabeth needs to sort out her behavioral issues, come back to Percy, apologize to him earnestly, then to Rachel and even Reyna. And then if Percy (after he too understands the problems in their relationship and how disastrous his lack of self esteem and self deprecation is) is willing to give her a chance or even willing to be in any romantic relationship then and only then should they get back together.
It might not be the answer you were hoping for anon but I had to give my honest thoughts on this. Feel free to comment your own opinions on this as well.

Pomegranate blood pt.1
Nico di Angelo x Percy Jackson
@we-ezer @sad-stucky-shipper-107
I did it guys :D
CWs: lowkey drugging, uhm kidnapping, toxic yaoi, gay pll (do i still have to put a warning for that one i mean come on guys), this is literally so toxic uhm, jealous nico, let me know if there's more!
Synopsis: After Nico finds out Percy is marrying annabeth he pays Percy jackson a visit with a special gift from his father...
Inspired by this post! (This is just part one! It only includes what happens in the post! Part two and maybe three will include what happens next!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nico hated the way his heart dropped at the small envelope. One piece of paper and years of ignoring and repressing his feelings were gone. Everything came back. A flood of anger and heartbreak at the 'save the date card' that was sent to all of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase's close friends and family.
When he had first seen the envelope he was excited. Chiron had handed it to him at breakfast that morning, when he always passed out mail to campers. His heart skipped a beat when he read the return address, it was from Percy. And then he opened it.
He read it right there, sitting next to Mr. D, without bothering to hide his smile. He couldn't hide how quickly it faded from his face. How his grip on the paper tightens. How the light inside of him dwindled and flicked out in a matter of seconds.
It was like he was fourteen again, heading into battle for the boy he loved. He brought Percy an army, he won him the war. In the end he was only disappointed. He'd lost to Annabeth. he should have expected this, of course he never had a chance with him.
With nothing else to hold onto, he sunk into the shadows.
The coldness of his father's castle welcomed him. His room in the place was large and mainly empty. The softness of the bed sheets engulfed him for the next few days.
He didn't leave the room, he barely ate or slept. The hole in his stomach only got bigger, the sinking of his chest only got worse. The feeling of helplessness fully immersed him, he watched almost a week go by. A week closer to the day Percy Jackson would marry someone else. I did everything for him. For so, so long.
It was also a week when he heard a knock on his door. He didn't answer. Why would he? There was another knock before the door was pushed open.
Nico barely bothered to look over the covers, the small sliver he could see of the undead servant was enough to figure it wasn't important.
"Leave." He said, his voice gravelly. He hadn't talked in a week, the only sounds he made were the weak sobs of pure despair.
"Your father required your presence." This caught Nico's attention. His dad tried, Nico knew this. Hades had been trying since Nico was fourteen, but Nico figured Hades wouldn't notice if he was in there or not.
Despite his better judgment, Nico sniffed once and pushed himself up from his bed. He nodded to the servant, who scurried off, and Nico hesitated for a moment before leaving the comfort of his room.
The winding hallways of Hades castle were confusing, but after a few years of practice he knew them as well as anything. He quickly made his way to the throne room, passing portraits and hung candles. finding his father sitting there. The chair next to him was empty, Nico thought of the summer back in the living world. Of the sun, of the beach at camp, of Percy standing there trying to get him to 'just swim, Nico. You aren't made of flour, are you?'.
Gods, why couldn't he just get over it?
"I was wanted, father?" Nico tried to make his voice sound stable, though it just barely trembled as he looked up at his father.
"I know of your pain, Nico." His father's voice had always been cold, but now just the smallest hint of pain seeped through the cracks. Nico cringed at the statement. He knew, of course he knew. A silence fell over them for a long moment before Hades spoke again, "Do you love him?"
Nico almost took a step back, does he love percy jackson? He averted his eyes from the gaze of his father. He must. Of course he loved him, he couldn't imagine a world where he didn't. He couldn't imagine any version of himself being okay if Percy Jackson married Annabeth Chase.
The silence must've said enough.
"Son, do you want him?"
Nico felt the pit open in his stomach. He knew he did.
Slowly, painfully, he nodded. Yes. Yes he did. More than anything.
"Come here, son."
As his father told him what to do next, Nico felt a cold sense of dread. A horrible feeling, the knowledge that it was horrible to even consider it. And the worst feeling of knowing he wanted to. He wanted it more than he'd ever like to admit.
-----
Percy was barely awake when he heard the knock on his door. He was exhausted. He'd been exhausted since he was twelve, maybe it was catching up to him
He groaned as he pushed himself up off the coach, he wasn't expecting a package. Part of him wondered if it was Annabeth, a part of him hoped it wasn't.
As much as he hated it, he had started to dread being with her. Was she great? Sure. Did he love her? He thought so. He really thought he did. Though, lately, he had started to question it.
It started small, a twinge of irritation when she'd show up announced. The way he didn't always want to kiss her. The way he felt when a pretty boy smiled at him. The guilt when his heart stuttered when he thought that pretty boy was Nico di Angelo.
Maybe things were just getting...old. Maybe they needed something new.
Then she asked him to marry her.
He wanted to say no, he just... didn't wanna deal with her after the fact.
Percy was relieved when it wasn't Annabeth, which he hated himself for.
He hated himself more when his ears reddened when he saw Nico di Angelo holding a bottle of wine.
It's a solid five seconds of silence before Nico shoves the bottle into Percy's hands.
"Congrats." Nico tried to smile, but there was an air of anxiety surrounding him.
"..thanks." Percy took it, not bothering to read the label, "do you...wanna come in?" He stepped away from the door.
Nico didn't bother nodding, he just stepped into the apartment, letting Percy guide him to the living room. It was vaguely messy, as expected, but Nico sat on the couch. All he had to do was get Percy to drink some wine....
---------
Nico knew it was wrong. He knew his father put something in the wine. He told Nico to not drink a drop. Of course Nico made him promise it was safe for Percy, he didn't want to hurt him. His father said of course not, a little lotus never hurt anyone.
He knew it was wrong when he showed up there, pretending to be happy for him. He knew it was wrong when he asked Percy about Annabeth. He knew it was wrong when three glasses in Percy said he was worried about marrying her.
He knew it. Nico was right, of course.
".. What do you mean you're worried about marrying her?"
"I... I don't know. We started dating at fifteen, she was my first girlfriend ever and... I don't know.. maybe l want something...well.. new."
Nico could barely hide the small smile that broke out on his face.
"That's okay...you dont have to be with her, you know?"
"But it would ruin just about everything."
"..Then ruin it."
Percy's eyes started to drift shut, only to be forced open again, a denial of the lotus petals. Percy shook this head.
He felt horrible when Percy finally spoke up.
"I don't know why I'm telling you this. I shouldn't be. You should...you should go." His head was tilted down, resting on his left hand.
Nico sighed, pursed his lips, slight tremors in his hands as he pushed himself up from the coach. Percy looked up for a moment, gods why was he so tired?
A small bubble of confusion rose in his chest as nico stood over him, but his eyes were already shut when he felt the press of Nico's lip over his.
-----
He woke up with someone pressed into his chest, dark hair nuzzled into his neck. His vision was burry, but he could make out a unfamiliar room and the drop of wine sliding down his face. He could taste pomegranate in his mouth.
"I'm so sorry..." The small voice whispered, though Percy didn't quite understand, slipping back into a dead sleep. He was blisfully unware of Nico crying into his neck, the pomegranate wine that had slid down his throat, and the fact that he was now forever bound to the land of the dead.
Ep 5 reactions
spoilers beneath the cut for s1e5 and minor spoilers for most of the books, but I censored the traitor's name. mostly positive tone.
ANNABETH SAW THE FUCKING FATES
"Im the last one to realize this aren't I" A LITTLE BIT
I love Percy admitting there he was really ONLY in it for Sally. Poseidon does ONE good thing and all of a sudden it's "wait I think the conspiracy to start war betten the gods is... important?" SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MEET REASONABLE PARENTING EXPECTATIONS? A certain god could be taking notes, specifically the patent of [REDACTED]
go off Percy with the emotional intelligence. A for effort
and an A PLUS to Annabeth for the sharing important info and being vulnerable.
I see that coat covering the bike seat. there's human skin on that thing, isn't there?
LIVING the portrayal of Ares as man-baby who starts twitter fights. average maturity level of anyone who likes war.
"there's no fear in you, is there?" STAWPPP
THEY KEPT THE MANHUNT PLOT🎉🎉🎉🎉 also the Gabe is Gabe-ing. Manipulate mansplain manwhore on the most literal level. except disney probably cut the womanizer bit.
the whole "Im immature as shit but my threats are real, I hold all the cards" THE GOD OF WAR IS GODOFWAR-ING
"can I walk them to the door" IS HE GONNA RUN FOR IT? they're really letting Grover miss out on this quest, huh? I mean I guess it makes sense. PLUS it means more Grover-exclusive scenes! MY BOYY
that's a lie. there HAVE to be corny movie nights at camp, right?
ALSO botl movie date, anyone?👀👀👀👀
is that? a JOKE I HEAR??? poking fun at Percy? a little. Genuine? ALSO TRUE. If you told me that "amusing" line was Liften from the book and I've just forgotten about it all five million times I read it, I WOULD BELIEVE YOU
Annabeth who complimented Circe's loom when Percy got cursed🤝 Annabeth who complimented Hepheastus when Percy got trapped
the way she says push before telling him what it is😭😭😭
WE'VE MET BEFORE. I'M 24. A FAN!? GROVER WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT
songs about feelings that was PERSONAL
*insert Coach Hedge talking about nature*
Annabeth asking what Ares need the kids for if he wants the bolt/thinks their quest means nothing🤝 Grover gaslight girlbossing : doing detective work under Percy's nose
OOOH good detail with Percy being caught up with all the "3000 year-old goss" because HIS MOTHER TOLD HIM hi sally i fuckign love u
"don't even try to tell me not to be weird about this" we love an honest queen. While I kinda miss book Annabeth being a bit stompy and whiny at this part, I do think that the show version suits its own characterization of Annabeth, saying whatever she thinks needs to be said.
this whole show, I've been able to see everything. episode five DO NOT be the one to let me down! PLEASE!
THE SONG omg i wasnt expecting that. miraculous movie flashbacks fr.
W CONVO. DOUBLEYOU CONVO. nothing to add. perfection.
Also. don't shoot but the song choice unironically fits Hephaestus's story.
SWIMMING
is that a giant gold naked statue of Hera? to taunt them for cheating on him? hypocrite.
"they like to ignore what doesn't fit their narrative" [REDACTED] APOLOGISTS TAKE NOTES.
also, SMOOTH AF
okay there's no way Annabeth doesn't know that story. there's ONE way to take a god's power and she doesn't know it? at least let them tell it in tandem! a little "Yeah I recognize the chair, what of it?" THEN let the touchy-feely boy present the bargain. AT LEAST.
SHE'S NOT LEAVING WITHOUT HIM
"do you need some help?" "FUCK OFF" that's Annabeth
in the one hand, I am not a fan of depriving Annabeth of her super wisdom hero moment. on the other hand, placing responsibility to fix things on the perpetrators instead of those kids from Season ONE queen shit, and showing people can change. slay, but PLEASE let Annabeth do some more puzzle shit!
THE SHIELD LOOKS SO BIG IN HER HANDS
THESE FUCKIGN TWELMVE YEAR OLDS
OH so [REDACTED] and Ares conspired to make sure the trio never makes it there, not just using the magic things that activate at a certain place, but also by DIRECTING THEM TO THE TIME FREEZE ON PURPOSE
TO SUMMON WHAT
that interaction. SO THEM
YOU KNOW WHO WHATTED THE WHAT
Hi i saw that you were gonna start writing stories and we're looking for ideas and things,, maybe a Luke x f!reader oneshot around the time of The Lightning Thief. I think it would be cool if the day before he snapped and revealed himself as the thief,, he confessed his feelings to someone or took an s/o on a special date as a type of "goodbye" without saying anything. There's not many luke fics and his TLT story is so fun to explore :3″
Pairing: Luke Castellan x daughter of Poseidon!f!reader
Genre: Angst basically. Some fluff, but angst.
Warnings: non that I can really think of
A.N: Literally listened to The Lightning Thief musical while writing this.This was super fun to write ngl, I also may have gotten carried away with the back story and such but meh :3. I also took a few freedoms and made you Poseidon’s daughter, hope you don’t mind it too much, and I changed the ending of the book a bit because I can’t remember exactly how it ended, just the basics, and I can’t find my book to fact check myself. Hope it doesn't bother you too much and that you like it.<3
Y/N sat at her cabin table, her newly found brother had just come back from a stupid quest he had to go on because her uncle was throwing a fit (as he usually does) about someone stealing his lightning bolt, and he immediately blamed it on her family. She knew all about the prophecy and the whole half-blood child of the big three turning sixteen and having the power to either save or destroy the world. Thing was she had already turned sixteen (if you’re not sixteen yet, just go along with it please) and nothing special really happened, so when Percy showed up at camp and killed a minotaur on the first day, Her and Chiron had been a bit weary of the new half-blood.
When Percy was claimed by Poseidon you’d think she’d be happy that she had found family, after losing her mother at five and never seeing her father, but she wasn’t, She was more worried than anything. Worried that she would lose the family she had just found. And when Percy left to go on the quest, Y/N felt like she couldn’t breath. She didn’t know him very well, but Percy was a good kid, she could just feel it, and she wanted to get to know him more. The thought that he may not come back from this quest in one piece terrified her. And what made it even worse was that he brought Annabeth with him. Annabeth was like Y/N’s little sister.
Ever since the day she found the seven year old blond they had been through alot together. She had run away from camp after getting into an argument with Chiron, she soon learned that it was a big mistake, then ran into the little girl somewhere in Pennsylvania. She then met Luke and Thalia, and then ran into Grover. The five had been through alot, especially when they lost Thalia, she was yet another pice of family she lost. She hadn’t walked into the camp with the other three, she just stayed and watched as Thaila’s body formed into a tall standing pine tree. She cursed Zues for letting this happen to his own daughter.
As the years went by she took care of the spunky little blond, and Luke liked to help every now and then. Feelings grew for the blond boy, no doubt about it, but she also remembered how Annabeth would squeal to her and rant about her little crush on Luke.
When they came back, all three of them, in one pices to say she was relieved, was an understatement. There had been a lot of events that happened after they were back, her favourite being the look on Clariese’s face when she heard that her father had stolen the bolt. The whole cabin was angry and Percy, and the fact that he had made their father look like a fool. But what she really cherished was right now. She was able to catch up with her brother and everything. Talk about his life, get to know him and how much of a good kid he really was. They talked about the prophecy and how he was confused about being betrayed by a friend and failing to save what matters the most.
“People who know nothing about prophecies may say something like ‘oh well you know the prophecy is crazy and could be wrong in some way,’ but, I know that isn’t the case. So I’d say, that the prophecy isn’t done with you yet.” She shrugged.
“Oh, how great.” he rolled his eyes.
“Hey, Y/N” She heard the smooth deep familiar voice and looked up to meet bright blue eyes. “Right before curfew… could you uh,” he scratched the back of his neck. “Just, meet me by the lake.” he quickly stated then walked off. She sat very confused, she had never seen Luke like that before. He was usually a cocky, joking fellow. Seeing him shy and flustered,and maybe even worried, had concerned her.
When the sun had fallen, and curfew was about twenty minutes away, she snuck out of her cabin and went down to the lake. “Luke?” she called out not seeing him anywhere.
“Y/N.” she then heard from behind her. Turning around she saw a familiar silhouette, She couldn't see his face due to the lack of light but she knew it was him.
“Hey, what’s up?” She walked towards him.
“I-” He looked around and took her by the arm to drag her further away from the cabins so that they could be somewhere where he knew they were truly alone. “I have something to tell you.” He sounded sorrowful and serious. This made Y/N’s heart race faster in worry for the boy in front of her.
“What is it Luke?” She moved her hand to his cheek so he could look at her. He just stared into her eyes for about a minute. He was dazzled by her (e/c) eyes, that she had gotten from her mum and her dark hair that she got from her father. His hands moved to her waist before he viciously pulled her close to him, foreheads touching. Her heart sped up even more, this time from the closeness of the two rather than worry. “Luke?” she questioned.
“I’m so sorry.” He squeezed his eyes shut in pain. “I’m so… so sorry Y/N.” He wrapped his arms further around her waist, pulling her into a hug. She took in his scent as he did hers.
“Luke, I don’t understand, why… why are you sorry?” She pulled away to look into his eyes again.
“Y/N, I… I like you… I like you so much I think I love you. And it hurts me, ever since we lost Thalia, you were there, you were alway there. And I don’t know why I couldn’t be satisfied with just you and Annabeth, but I couldn’t. I’m sorry. I was just so pissed, I needed to get it all out. But in the end, I want you to know that it was you, It was always you.” And that's when he did it. He made her heart completely stop, He leaned in and kissed her. His kiss soft and gentle, the kiss was passionate. She melted into it, wanting it to last forever but alas he pulled away. “I just hope you will forgive me at some point.”
“Luke, what’s going on? What do you mean forgive you?” She was seriously done with this mysterious way he was talking.
“I can’t tell you, not yet. Just, stay with me, for the night. Tonight only, sleep beside me, let me hold you one last time.” He pleaded.
“Luke, where are we gonna sleep, we can’t go to your cabin, because… well,” She thought of the cramped cabin 11 and how embarrassing it might be to wake up in the morning with all those kids around her laughing, or how maybe the twins would try playing a prank of them in their sleep. “Percy’s asleep in my cabin, and we can’t stay out here… the harpies.” She shuddered at the thought of being attacked by those bird ladies.
“Y/N, i’ve seen Percy sleep, there's no way he's gonna wake up before us. I’ll be sure to leave before he even knows I’m there.” He rested his forehead on hers.
She thought for a while. “Alright fine.” She smiled and they walked back to the cabin.
That night she had the best sleep she had ever had. Luke’s warmth,and his scent. It relaxed her in a way that she didn’t know was possible. But he held true to his word of getting out before Percy knew he was there. In fact, she had to sit there for a while trying to be sure it was real and not just a dream, because when she woke up, he wasn’t there. Her heart dropped. It was too vivid, too detailed, too… too real, to be a dream. She got out of bed, and got dressed before hearing a snore. She grabbed her pillow and threw it at the drooling boy, still asleep in his bed.
“Wake up ragworm. You’re gonna miss breakfast.” She said, waiting till he got out of bed and started getting changed to leave and go to breakfast.
They sat at the table eating their food when Mr. D. had stood up to tell everyone to decide whether they were staying for the year or leaving before noon. “What are you gonna do?” Percy looked at his sister.
“I'm staying here.” She shrugged as if not going home was something she was used to.
“You’re not going back to your family?” He sounded confused. But he too was confused if he wanted to go back and see his mum or if he wanted to stay with his new found family. He was kinda hoping she was gonna go so that it would make it easier on him.
“Have no family to go home to, Perc. This right here,” she motioned to all the other kids at their respective tables, “this is the closest thing I have to family.”
As the day had progressed the thought of what happened with Luke last night being real faded as Luke had avoided her all day. And as she was walking around Camp, enjoying her last day with some of her friends she saw some wood nymphs carrying a body wearing blue jeans and a bright orange camp shirt. “Percy.” she gasped as she saw the black head of hair. They carried him to the infirmary where he was tended to and given some nectar to recover.
Once he woke up he started ranting off nonsense. “Luke, it’s Luke we- we need to look for him.” he tried to get up but Chiron stopped him.
“What do you mean it’s Luke, Perc?” She was worried by the tone of her brother's words.
“The… the friend who was supposed to betray me… it’s Luke. He’s the lightning thief” At Percy’s words Y/N’s head went fuzzy, her stomach turned. “He’s serving Kronos, hes trying to bring him back.” she didn’t want to believe what she was hearing, “ Oh… and Y/N… he said that if I happened to survive, to tell you… he meant what he said last night, and that he is really sorry.” Percy said that as if it was irrelevant.
“No, you're lying. Luke, he wouldn… He isn’t... “ She shook her head trying to deny it but then something came back to her.
“I’m sorry. I was just so pissed, I needed to get it all out.” She ran out of the infirmary, tears stinging her eyes and her head steaming. She ran into the cabin, and without thinking rationally started to throw things around out of… well, she wasn’t really sure what she was feeling, she just needed to get it out.
Once she was done throwing things around, and the cabin was totally trashed, she knew exactly what she was feeling. She ran to the lake, feeling angry and sad. She took her shoes off and sat at the edge with her feet in the water. Tears running down her face.
“I just hope you will forgive me at some point.” Luke’s words rang out in her head. “I don’t think I ever can.” She thought. It wasn’t because of the fact that he had betrayed her friends, her family, betrayed her. It was more the fact that Luke was so selfish, so so stupidly selfish that he had to dump that onto her. He had to tell her how he felt and then go and break her like that. Because of that, she hated him, but at the same time, deep in her heart she still loved him, something small was telling her that this wasn’t actually Luke, that he was really the Luke that she loved and that something was controlling him.
She looked up at the sky, the clear blue sky. To anyone else, on any other day, it would have been a beautiful day. But no matter how much the sun shined, all she could see was grey. “Why? Why can’t I be happy? Why do you insist on torturing me constantly. What did I do to make you decide I don’t deserve happiness? Was it because I was born? It’s not my fault that my father can’t keep a stupid promise. It’s not my fault i’m alive. I never asked for this. So why do you do this to me? You petty little brat! I hate you with every bone in my body.” She screamed at her uncle. Zeus wasn’t listening to what his pathetic niece was saying, but someone was.
His chest felt heavy. Listening to what the beautiful broken girl was saying. He had wanted to hold her like he should have for every heart breaking moment of her sixteen years. “I’m sorry i couldn’t save you from that. But I gave you Percy. You have each other now. Take care of each other like I can’t.” Poseidon sighed.
Wow!!! Turns out other characters other than percy, annabeth, and leo have trauma!!! so lets discuss about that!!!
in no way i'm comparing traumas or saying that the three of them suffer less or smth okay, i just want more people to realise that the other characters have trauma AS WELL.
(will be mentioning almost everything based on the information i remember so sorry if i missed something other than being on a life or death situation + witnessing someone they care about or was close with pass away right infront of them)
Grover : he thinks that he's a failure because he feels guilty of not being able to save thalia who got turned into a tree instead + lacks self confidence because everyone thinks he'll fail his mission on finding and saving Pan.
Thalia : had to expereince losing her brother who's the only other person she has got left excluding her mom, had an alcoholic insane mom, had to run away from home, take care of young annabeth (she enjoyed it ofc), get turned into a tree, become human again only to find out that her best friend/ possibly crush as well betrayed her and everyone, and because of that and to avoid the responsible of being the child of a prophecy became a huntress, then finds her little brother who she thought was dead later on only for him to die a year later.
Jason : was abandoned by his mom when he was only 2, got raised by wolves, was then sent into a military child camp, was always given huge responsibilty from a young age only because of his heritage, only had 1 friend who he could be honest with because they're both stuck in the same situation, got his memoried stolen as well had a girl think that they were dating but eventually fell in love with her as well, finds out he has a sister and had to leave her after only meeting for an hour to save a goddess who doesn't really like him, is often insecure at times, has witnessed his friends nearly die, and eventually died at a VERY young age.
Piper : suffers from daddy issues since she has a famous actor as a dad, her father rarely spends time with her + she has never had anyone else as a friend who doesn't use her, her dad only acknowledges her when she's in trouble and thats probably only for a few minutes. despite knowing that, she still goes all the way to find trouble just so her dad would talk to her even if actually means being scolded by her dad + has only ever told leo who her dad is (before the incident in cabin 10 out of frustration). during her first ever quest, she had to choose between her dad or people she just knew and accepts her for her, survive without knowing any combat and had to rely on her charmspeak skills alone, and finally met her mom for the very first time. also, imagine how hurt you'd be thinking that you had a boyfriend but then finding out that he actually wasn't. thankfully they eventually dated, but then after you broke up with him because you were confused with your feelings, he dies.
Frank : only had his mom and grandma who spoild him only for them to die in your teenage years, was then sent to a military camp, felt insecure because everyone there was way more talented than you, suddenly found out that you were a son of a god that is literally the opposite of you and feels embarrassed because of it, then finds out that you have cool powers and that you are actually one of the most powerful demigods ever but still not accepting it.
Hazel : lived in an abusive household, had to deal with insane racism, had to fight a giant all alone when she was just 13, then died, got saved by her half-brother, was sent into a military camp, met someone who looks like someone who didn't keep your promise, and still hasn't been able to deal with her past + future trauma.
Nico : has no living relatives accept for his half sister hazel, got his memories erased and was kept in a hotel where time doesn't exist, then was left by his sister only to find out that she died after trusting her safety to a friend that he admired and trust. then found out that he had super powers and is a son of a god everyone dislikes, ran away and betrayed everyone, but then apologized + helped. his sister didn't want to talk to him and eventually chose re-birth, had to go through tartarus ALONE, discovered that he has a half sister, and is still trying to heal from all of his trauma.
(+ don't forget the other demigods, magicians, and everyone in the magnus chase series)
(btw feel free to add more or correct me if i have any mistakes, thank you !!!)
Just Us
Percy Jackson x Reader Percy Jackson & the Olympians
Anonymous asked: I love your blog! If you are doing requests right now, are you able to do something with Percy and his S/O arguing and making up. Or some angst with a happy ending?
This got a little long. Hope y’all don’t mind :) Enjoy!
Requests are open for headcanons and fics!
The lonely apartment felt weird. It was happening more and more frequently as of late, but that didn’t mean it was any less wrong.
When you and Percy had first moved in together, the apartment on 76th Street had felt so alive. It was perfect, and he was perfect, and nothing could possibly have taken that feeling away. And it had lasted, not forever, of course, but long enough that you were confident that letting yourself fall so hard for the scruffy-haired skater boy from the Upper East Side was the right choice.
Sure, living with the son of Poseidon had its interesting moments, like the pegasi that tended to show up on your fire escape every so often, or the monsters that would sometimes follow you home after date nights. But overall, it was good and it felt right.
Until recently, that is. When the apartment started getting lonelier and lonelier, and you couldn’t shake the feeling that your world was somehow irreparably different. Like how your mouth feels after you get a tooth pulled. Something was missing, even when the apartment wasn’t empty.
Sometimes, it was his mom needing someone to watch Estelle. She was always so happy that Percy wanted to be a part of his little sister’s life. And who were you to deny him that? So off he would dutifully go, often not getting back until after you were asleep, sometimes just staying the night and not getting back until after you had gone to work the next morning.
Other times, it was Jason requesting help making sure both demigod camps had appropriate tributes to every minor god or goddess. You knew the work was tedious, and you knew how much Percy valued his friendship with Jason. So when the son of Jupiter called, you waved dutifully as Percy climbed on Blackjack’s back, not coming back for days, or sometimes even a week or more.
Most times, though, it was Annabeth or Grover just wanting to hang out. And you understood, really, you did. His two best and longest friends didn’t really have time to consistently spend with him anymore. Annabeth had gotten into Harvard’s graduate architecture program, so she only had precious little time to spend with Percy, and she could never leave Cambridge. Grover, of course, was still off spreading Pan’s message, and rarely did he have time to spare for his best friend. So, of course, you dutifully watched him race to gather his things, often enough forgetting to even say goodbye, before he was out the door for who knows how long.
Sadly, you sank into the couch—a plush leather hand-me-down from Sally and Paul when they redecorated their own apartment a couple years back—and turned on the TV. When he was gone for long periods of time, the news was often the only way to see what he was up to, even though he had a cellphone and a way to Iris message you on his literal wrist.
It was almost time for the 11 o’clock news, and, in theory, Percy should be home soon. You hadn’t heard anything from him all day, which wasn’t surprising, despite the fact that he was literally just on the other side of Manhattan babysitting.
But you weren’t so sure that he’d be home that night. Not only because Sally didn’t like when Percy walked home late at night. Of course she didn’t, and you didn’t either. The walk was quick during the day because he could just cut through Central Park, but late at night, the park was closed to pedestrian traffic. That, plus the fact that you and Percy had gotten into a bit of an argument before he went left you uncertain that he would return that night.
Or ever, for that matter, although your brain told you that was ridiculous.
All you had done was ask him to spend a little more time with you. You didn’t want to take him away from his friends and family, but you rarely got to spend time with your boyfriend anymore. Between work, helping out at camp, and him spending what seemed like every spare moment with his friends and family, you missed him. And you told him that.
Maybe you communicated it wrong, or maybe he misheard you, but whatever the reason, he left the apartment in a huff at noon.
Shortly before the news ended, you heard a roll of thunder and rain pattering gently on the window. There was no way Sally would let him leave in a storm. You stood and stretched, feeling your back pop, and made your way into your bedroom.
You had only been in bed for what felt like a few minutes when you heard the clattering on the fire escape. Annoyed, you got up and went to the window. You were getting ready to yell at Blackjack for making so much noise when you saw Percy half-slumped over on his back, clutching at his side. His shirt was torn and ruddy, and he was soaked from the rain that had progressively gotten worse.
Silently, you scrambled out the window, patting the pegasus’ nose as he shuffled to give you better access to his injured rider. You helped Percy dismount, pressing your hand to his wound so that he could use both of his arms. He mumbled a quiet ‘thanks, buddy’ and leaned his head against Blackjack’s snout for a brief moment before pushing away and letting you help him gingerly climb through the window. Your brain barely registered the flap of wings outside as you led Percy to sitting on the bed.
“What happened?” you asked softly, replacing your hand with his own before going to the bedside table to grab the container of ambrosia you had stashed in every room of the apartment.
“Empousai in the park.” His voice was hoarse, and he sounded tired. You doubted his six-year-old sister had tuckered him out that much. “Didn’t see them until it was too late. They chased me halfway through the Ramble before I was able to get some ground on them.”
You frowned, cupping a hand to his cheek briefly. “You’re home now,” you whispered. “That’s what matters.”
He paused for a moment, and you could see an emotion flash across his face too quickly to identify. Then, he nodded.
Silently, you went to the wardrobe and pulled out dry clothes for him to change into. Percy took the pajamas gratefully, and for a moment, his sea green eyes met yours. You were glad in that moment that he wasn’t the son of Zeus—the electricity in the air was palpable.
“How was Estelle?” you asked quietly, breaking his gaze. You sat on the edge of the bed while he changed.
He chuckled, wincing slightly. The ambrosia must not have fully finished healing him yet. “Good. She’s good. She asked about you.” You raised your eyebrows in shock and he continued. “She wants you to come over to play school sometime.”
You laughed. The last time you had played school with the five-year-old, she had been the teacher and you and Percy had pretended to be her bad students. She loved it. “Well, I suppose we’ll have to make that happen, then.”
He nodded and went silent as he pulled the ratty Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt over his head. It used to be a hoodie—you had gotten it for him shortly after you met him—and he wore it so much it was practically threadbare. He had cut the hood off at some point, and the front pocket had ripped off in a monster fight two years ago, so now it was just a thin sweatshirt that had been mended and sewn back together so many times, most of the stitching wasn’t original. But still he refused to throw it out.
After a moment, he sat down beside you, and for a second, you thought he wasn’t going to say anything. Then, he grabbed your hand. “Mom asked about you, too.”
“Oh?”
Percy sighed. His hair was soaked, and it stuck to his face at odd angles. He looked a mess, although if you were honest with yourself, he had certainly looked much worse. “I’m sorry I’m a shit boyfriend,” he mumbled. His grasp on your hand loosened. “I didn’t realize…”
You squeezed his hand.
“Everyone always told me that my fatal flaw was being too loyal to my friends. I never knew what that meant. ‘Til now.” His sea green eyes were sad when he finally let himself meet your eyes. “Turns out you can be too loyal.”
“I love how much you love your friends,” you reassured him. “I just want a bit more balance. I was starting to get the impression you didn’t want to spend time with me anymore.”
His brows knit together in frustration. “Of course I want to spend time with you. I love you.” The way Percy said it, so finitely and sure of himself, caused your heart to do backflips in your chest.
You leaned over and kissed him chastely, your lips barely brushing his. Before you had a chance to pull away, he was pulling you closer and kissing you again, one arm around your waist, the other cupping your cheek tenderly. It was brief, but kissing Percy always tied your stomach into knots like it was the first time.
He leaned his forehead against yours, and in the close proximity, you could feel him smile without even looking at him. “Mom invited us both for dinner tomorrow,” he mumbled, his sea green eyes meeting yours once again. “Maybe after, we can start that thing on HBO. The one with the monsters. Just us.”
You smiled. “Just us.”
Imagine (based on the incomplete fanfic Son of the Underworld) (Son of Hades! Percy AU) (5/5) or (5/10)
Hey so, this is the last part of PJO - I follow into HOO, so before you read this, check on the masterpost - and read the warnings before proceeding :)) Good reading!
Annabeth comes to him, at the end of his fifteenth birthday party, and shows her Daedalus laptop. There's a document open in it, and it's labeled Achilles' Curse.
Percy doesn't read it - he hates reading, in any way or form or language - but she does, out loud.
"I'll think about it"
They have a year. Most of them, even those who aren't year-rounders, are going back to camp, to draw battle plans and stock on the armory.
He feels kinda selfish - for a whole five seconds before he remembers he'll probably die next summer, so he just shrugs it off - Percy deserves this year.
They all leave to go back to camp. Nico seems conflicted over something - but Perseus doesn't question it, there's enough bad blood between them.
Paola is really cool - and Sally really loves her. It's kind of bizarre at first, to see his Mom dating his teacher - and of a subject he hates - but Paola is calm and well-tempered and she laughs at his stupid ass jokes.
He visits Persephone afterward - and it really feels like he has three moms to fulfill his lack of a father - well, he is absolutely grateful for the women in his life.
Percy isn't truly in good terms with his father. The man doesn't really seem to care much for him as a person - he is much more of a trophy son.
Perseus loathes being a trophy son, but at least he has someone to help with his powers - not something a lot of half-bloods can claim.
So he goes back to school with Rachel, and they pretend everything is normal. He tells her about his quests - all three of them. He thinks she understands him better now.
He opens up to her. Tells her about Annabeth - the adrenaline-fueled kiss - and Rachel stops talking with him for a week.
She apologizes when she comes back. She needed to figure some things up - firstly, the redhead tells him she is probably asexual - and maybe aromantic too, but she is not certain because the internet wasn't really clear about that.
Then Rachel confesses that she is not jealous of him in a romantic way - she is envious of his friendship with Annabeth. Percy is her first genuine friend that really appreciates her.
This is the first grudge Perseus lets go for real before it even takes place - Rachel didn't leave him because of teenage drama, she ignored him out of confusion. Everyone is allowed space - he knows this better than anyone.
They don't kiss anymore. Not because Rachel doesn't like it - no, she is all for it - but because Percy is starting to think kisses should mean something - he is saving them.
They kiss once - when Rachel father calls for the first time this year - not to ask about her, but to tell Rachel he found this amazing all-girls school. To Percy, kisses mean comfort.
They cuddle a lot, though. These past few years of fear have made Percy very touch-starved.
It's sophomore year - and Percy is in five AP classes: Macroeconomics&Microeconomics, Statistics, Calculus AB, Physics 1, and Comparative Government and Politics.
He is planning on taking both AP Computer Science classes, Psychology, Physics 2, and Calculus BC next year; leaving only Electricity&Magnetism, Mechanics, Chemistry, and World History for his senior year.
If he lives, he is working on a tight schedule here. He doesn't know what he wants yet - and if he is in constant danger, it's already pretty lucky he can do high school - but probably something with Math.
Rachel says fourteen AP courses are ambitious - that he'll burn out. But math comes to him easily enough - it's in his blood.
She is also overworking: She is taking AP Environmental Studies, Art History, Drawing, 2-D Art and Design, and English Literature and Composition.
They complete each other. Rachel is planning on taking as many Art, History, and English courses as she can - he is taking as many Physics, Math, and Science as he can handle.
(She is also going to take on Japanese studies for some reason - probably for her GPA, but Perseus just teases her that she is getting too invested in anime)
Perseus doesn't care about languages anymore - the only languages that matter to him are C++ and JavaScript now.
They study together, they take naps together, they climb to the roof together, they flee school to visit Sally together - he is the Pinky to her Brain, the Scooby to her Shaggy, the Lois Lane to her Superman, the Robin to her Batman.
They look like troublemakers - They are honor roll students, but she is always with ripped pants dirty with paint, and he is always full of flowers everywhere, even in his muddy converses - a cliche to kill all cliches.
They're both nerds - he is the classic one, all polo shirts now, the first chair for every number-related class - and she is the artsy one - there's a brush behind her ear and her hair is so messy that half the time it covers her face.
Paola gifts him a pair of cheap frames without lenses once - saying it adds to the aesthetic - he totally uses them.
Persephone just makes him flower-crowns, and giggles when he matches them with his polo shirts.
When winter comes, he goes back to his hoodies and sweaters and gloves - to find out he doesn't miss them a lot.
Rachel introduces him to polaroids - and they look eerily pretty in the winter, her hair looking like blood spilling over the snow - and he loves it.
If he survives - he can feel Rachel slapping him - when he survives, his college credits will be remarkable. The idea of doing SATs makes him want to cry - reading always does - but he'll get somewhere good - he knows it. Perhaps Stanford. Or NYU. Or the dream of his life, MIT.
He is living his life to the fullest - he starts reading comic books, he gets really (really) into Tony Stark once Iron Man 1 comes out (even if he has to kill at least three monsters just to go to the movies), he plants trees and Rachel starts teaching him how to play her ukulele - but half his mind is still on the upcoming war.
Christmas vacation comes - and he goes to visit Camp Half-Blood, before heading back to his mom. It's quite memorable, if only by the fact that Nico Di Angelo freaking betrays him.
He tells Percy to come to the Winter Solstice with him. Most of the campers are not going - the war effort is in an all-time high - but Percy has never gone before. Hades will be there - it'll be great!
Perseus should absolutely be less surprised with the outcome - seeing that Nico is inviting him in Cabin 1, post-dinner, and they don't even stop to talk to Chiron about it.
But Percy goes. Because Percy wants to make amends.
There's no time to really talk to anyone. They travel in Blackjack for the Empire State Building - and it's fine.
They go up to Olympus, Nico shows him everything in the god's land, the temples are a work of art, if not kind of old, and the meeting is kind of okay, even if the gods are squabbling children.
Then the gods leave, and Perseus thinks they're leaving too.
"My father needs a word with you"
Perseus feels the betrayal claw on him. There are no shadows in the white hall, there's no way for him to escape. Nico looks apologetic - Percy wants to clock him in the face.
"He promised to tell me more about my mother" Nico pleads "He will tell me more about where I've come from. Please, Percy."
Nico is cute. He is, for a soon-to-be fourteen-year-old. But his pretty face and exquisite white eyes don't make him any less of a freaking liar. All his handsome male straight friends betray him - it's a worrying pattern now.
He muses for a second that they also all have a crush on Annabeth - gods, the blonde attract the worst types.
It's double-crossing - Percy ends up in an all-white cell that burns his retinas without any weapons because Zeus wants praise in the middle of this freaking war - doesn't matter if a hundred demigods die, if he only has the glory.
Nico ends up with barely any information - Zeus didn't promise anything. The god of the skies is a lying-ass motherfucker - literally.
And Zeus justifies it - He says Perseus is a criminal because he awakened Typhon. So Hephaestus issues a quest so he can save a hundred demigods, he destroys a powerful titan weapon of doom, and he is the villain? Sure, Jan.
Perseus writes this grudge in his heart - that's where trust will take you. To a cell. Betrayed by a "friend". Again.
He flinches when Nico comes into his cell, pins him to the wall and promptly begins to try and strangle him. He wants to melt in the boy's shadow - to go and never give him a chance to explain - but he looks so guilty Percy waits for his repentance.
The son of Zeus saves him, but Perseus is still pissed off. The god of thunder has threatened to kill him off at least two times now, what is to say he wouldn't have killed off Percy for the sake of glory?
He half hopes Zeus had killed him off. The war is close, too close - Nico wouldn't be the Prophecy's child. There would be no child. Olympus would fall - and Percy would have seen it all from his very comfortable couch in Elysium.
He wants Kronos gone - but he kind of wants Olympus to fall with the Titan.
Nico flies him down to the Earth - the elevator is monitored. Zeus has left, like many others - not to bother with the war effort against his main enemy, but to go to the human world mess with people.
Some gods are doing something - He has heard from Annabeth that Artemis is leading the widest hunt ever, with her brother by her side; Hermes (with Hephaestus help) is delivering Celestial Bronze, other metals, old schematics and a whole lot of fuel to Camp Half-Blood every few weeks; Poseidon is fighting his own war, in the ocean; Dionysus is at Camp - and this time, he is really helpful with the battle formations; Demeter is on the Underworld - Chiron seems to think his father is preparing for war, but Percy sorely doubts it.
Percy is taking some people with him to Sally's Christmas dinner. Just Annabeth, Clarisse, Rachel, Connor, Travis, and Charles - people who don't have a present family to celebrate it with.
Grover is coordinating the dryads up in San Francisco with his second cousin, Gleeson Hedge - they are the first to fall if anything goes wrong in Mt. Othrys.
"I think you should stay." He tells Nico.
"You don't trust me anymore." It's not actually a question.
Percy doesn't trust the boy. Not at all - it's the third time he does something shady to achieve his ends based on emotional turmoil. But he is a good person - it's just his father's cursed temper and his grief.
"It's not that. You're needed for the war effort."
Both of them know it's a lie. Percy doesn't care - he deserves to be bitter a little longer.
Percy goes back home. Christmas is amazing - even if Rachel asks him where Nico is because he is talking about making amends with the boy for a while now.
He goes visit Persephone - but she is occupied, so he wanders through the Underworld after Bianca di Angelo - someone he, for some reason, never been able to reach. It's a pointless endeavor by now.
He finds her. Or else, he finds a shadow of her - she is blocked from his view. Bianca doesn't talk to him - they weren't close - but she guides him to a girl.
Her name is Hazel Levesque.
She seems lost - like most ghosts - but something in Percy calls for her. It's the color of her skin and the sparkle in her golden eyes - Hazel remembers him of himself.
He promises to visit more - even though he doesn't think she'll remember it - and leaves to go back to the surface - he will finish the sophomore year.
And Percy does. After a very distressing break, he is doing his best. His grades drop a little in English because he can barely focus - half his mind is on the war and Nico's betrayal and Hazel Levesque's golden eyes.
Miraculously, his GPA doesn't fall - he still is taking a ridiculous amount of AP classes, and barely has time to breathe - dark circles grow under his eyes, and he looks like a mess - but now he is a Junior.
That's why, as soon as the year ends, Rachel takes him on a road trip with Connor. They go all the way to Boston, then Portland, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Syracuse, Baltimore, and Filadelfia, before going back to NY.
They are stopped five times by the police - because Percy is black, and it's Rachel driving the Camaro, because she has a learner's permit and Connor is, somehow, an approved license holder.
They are on a pier, enjoying the view of the beach. They did the last week alone because Connor wanted to go check on one of his cousins - at least, that's what he said, with an over-exaggerated wink that both Percy and Rachel ignored for the sake of their sanity.
She tells him about Clarion Ladies Academy - but that her father is at least mildly happy with her GPA this year, even if he disapproves of her Art focused AP classes. Percy thinks Mr. Dare would love him, with his APs on Economics and Politics, if only he was rich. And white.
This time, when Charles Beckendorf arrives in a Pegasus to tell him it's time, Rachel doesn't kiss him - she justs hugs him and makes him promise to call her.
Perseus doesn't go to the Andromeda Ship - he is needed in Camp. He is useless on the water - but they do need him to improve battle strategy.
Charles Beckendorf is dead. Thalia is the one to tell them - she was in her father's palace helping with a monster under her Lady's orders - he went on the mission alone.
Percy talks briefly with Beckendorf's ghost - is his worst developed power, and he can barely hold the "seance" for more than a few minutes. He does it with only Nico di Angelo for witness - the others are the way to close to the situation.
There's a spy passing information to Luke.
They look at him. Doesn't matter how much he does, he is always the first suspect - he is a son of Hades. He was friends with a lot of people on the other side. He was gone for a year and a half, who knows where.
Perseus wants to say that he has helped to save their asses four times now - that without him in the Labyrinth, they would all be dead right now - and that Charles was basically his older brother.
Then he points out he wasn't even here - he had no idea of any plans of anything - and he told him about the spy, so he is not the freaking spy, go point fingers at each other instead of him.
When they start yelling, he stops them - this is not the time, he was just angry at their accusations. They have to burn Charles shroud. Silena is inconsolable - Percy is not very far from it, but he is not a public crier. The last time he cried in public, Luke was dead on a cliff.
Percy speeds up the line for Elysium to Beckendorf - his brother deserves it.
They read the prophecy together - Perseus already read it last summer, he doesn't even care anymore. They look at him anxiously - no one has forgotten that he abhors most of the gods.
Clarisse and Michael Yew fight, but Lee Fletcher - with a mechanical arm built by Beckendorf himself, still re-learning how to shoot arrows and forever incapable of playing the guitar again (but the keyboard is not ruled out yet) - stops them: They can share the chariot. The war is more important - is not the time for petty fights.
Chiron shows them Typhon - and Perseus has a sliver of hope that they can destroy Kronos and be free of the gods at the same time - It's a horrible hope, because he loves Persephone and some of them are even okay sometimes, but he really wants Zeus to go to Tartarus for at least a century, so Perseus doesn't meet him again in this life.
But he also wants the gods to win, because there's a lot of dead people - innocents, people who have nothing to do with this war.
He dreams of Rachel. Rachel is painting Luke - and Percy wakes up crying, for the boy the gods took away.
Annabeth takes him aside and reminds him of Achilles' Curse. He is off to May Castellan's house - the last place Luke has been - for it's his best and only chance, its what Annie thinks. And she is scarcely wrong.
Perseus hates the gods. They wrecked a family - and for what? May Castellan - forever waiting for a son that will never come back, haunted by visions of his future, plates of burned cookies everywhere.
Perseus doesn't pity her - he rages against the gods, who brought madness upon this woman and then left her to it. Where was Apollo, the god of health? Dionysus, who is supposed to control mental health? Artemis, whose job is to protect women?
Hestia is kind - but she is still a goddess. She could've prevented this - but she hides in her hearth and abstains - and that's enabling. Hestia enables the other gods to do as they please, even when she is the oldest. She says they ignore her - oh well, she ignores them right back! He has no time for the laments of another all-powerful being.
So he goes to his mother and asks for her blessing. Then, just to be sure, he asks Persephone's too.
He thinks about his anchor - where does he want it to be in his body. He doesn't want somewhere in his back - where he can't see it - or in his gut - where anyone can stick a sword. He settles for the bottom of his back - where he can at least touch it and it's well protected by armor - and dives.
Perseus hates water - and he has an uncanny fear of drowning. He feels pain - everywhere, horrible pain.
His vision now doesn't have Annabeth's face - the blonde is his link to the demigod world, Persephone is his link to the Underworld and his mom is his link to childhood - but the person who grounds him is Rachel.
He is stronger. He feel his powers at his fingertips - Perseus feels the Underworld as a whole, and it's overwhelming.
Green flames explode from his hands. Flowers made of shadows curve around his ankles - he has been training since he was 12, but now his body can sustain all of his power. This is all his.
He goes meet with his father - Perseus manipulates him. He tells Hades he'll be the hero, but the god himself can be praised for more than being his father. That he should join the battle against Typhon - That's his chance of proving himself. Also, there's less paperwork for him if there are fewer dead people.
His father is amused with his blatant bribing, but he thinks about it, Percy can tell. In a way or another, he excuses himself and goes back to the surface where he is needed.
Persephone stalls him. She asks him to stay, just for this night. He can go back in the morning - he sleeps, and dreams of Rachel again, drawing in the sand. In greek.
He is scared for her - she is having demigod dreams, but she is mortal. Something is wrong.
Typhon is getting worse - and Kronos draws closer to NYC. It's time - he calls for Blackjack and leaves - Mrs. O'Leary, who has become more or less of a mother to his own hellhound, follows. Persephone promises to convince Hades.
They have about sixty campers able to fight heading for the Empire State Building, and five healers. The ones too young to lift a sword or string a bow stayed back at Camp with Argus - fifteen children between 5 and 9 years old.
Percy knows he looks different - he looks just like his father. He has gained a godly aura - he has no scars anymore, no imperfections. Perseus looms over all of them - he went from 5'7'' to 6'2'' - it's a weird view, from up there. It's still strange when they look at him with a mix of fear and admiration.
Perseus Jackson is officially their leader. He hates Olympus - but he will give his life to defend every single one of his demigods.
The vision Hestia shows him just makes him want to tear this throne room with his bare hands - Luke was a kid. He was a kid - and the gods corrupted him. Thalia was a kid - and the gods took her life, twice. Annabeth is still a kid - they all are - and she is here planning battle strategies.
Annabeth missed an extra year of formal education - while Percy is a Junior, Annabeth barely qualifies for a Freshman - because the gods took this from her too.
Percy rages. The ground of Olympus trembles beneath him - he wants to kill something.
Then Hermes appears - like this whole war is not his fault in the first place, the literal bastard - just to relay a message from Athena that gives them a plan that Annabeth was already putting into works and tells Percy to stay away from Annabeth.
Like she cares. Like Athena has ever, ever, done anything for Annabeth.
Perseus can't punch Athena, so he punches the messager (also, because he freaking guilt trips both of them about Luke). He has nothing to lose - he is going to die by the end of the day anyway, and they need him too much.
He has punched a god before - Ares, in a desert in the middle of Los Angeles - but this time, it's satisfactory. He feels good after it.
Hermes seems strangely resigned - He feels guilty about Luke too, but Perseus doesn't think it's enough. It'll never be enough, not while the gods leave their children to rot in a cabin of rejects and May Castellan bakes cookies for a son that will never come back.
Hermes leaves, ashamed. It's only fair, Perseus thinks. They all should be ashamed.
They see the city asleep - the prophecy is in the works.
Perseus executes their strategy - every cabin is covering a tunnel, with the exception of Dionysus, because Pollux is with the Demeter kids, and the Hecate kids stay behind to use spells to overlook the city. Lincoln Tunnel is getting covered by Ares - who, this time around, is actively participating.
The undetermined who didn't desert are with Hermes - and the minor god's children are divided by specialty - most Hypnos and Morpheus children follow him directly, but the two sons of Iris go with the Apollo Cabin.
Annabeth executes Plan 23, automatons, mounting on Mrs. O'Leary (who has strict orders to take Annabeth anywhere she wants without stopping to play around) - she doesn't need his help with this, and Percy has a tunnel to defend.
That left the rivers uncovered - until Thalia appears, with magical sand money, and made the rivers cooperate.
The hunters join the Aphrodite kids - who are half a dozen children between 11 and 19 - the oldest being Silena Beauregard, who uses a crossbow that looks exactly like her immortal half-brother's one.
His bridge is completely covered on skeletons - but no monster comes, even if he hears explosions. He leaves an English Lieutenant from the Battle of Yorktown in command of the bridge - with Tyene, the oldest daughter of Morpheus, to be in alert and don't let Clovis sleep through the battle. Because he did it before - and while it is funny, it can't happen right now.
Perseus mounts Blackjack - and go see where the noise is coming from. It's the Williamsburg Bridge - where are most of Apollo's Cabin.
They fight - and Percy almost cries when he sees Luke, who is not Luke anymore. Luke, who is a puppet controlled by Kronos.
Perseus kills the Minotaur and the weight of his stone spikes collapse the bridge - and Michael Yew dies. This time around, the bridge falls silently into shadows, and he doesn't bother about searching for the corpse - he saw the boy falling, and his screams will haunt all of them, forever.
This time around, Annabeth is not there to protect him - Ethan also doesn't try to kill him. The Son of Nemesis doesn't leave Kronos side for a second - but there's regret in his eyes.
After the bloodlust is gone, Perseus collapses - Will has to bride carry him back. Overuse of his powers - he summoned skeletons and produced shadows, melted enemy swords (with the bonus of incapacitating them without killing), and sprouted stone spikes everywhere - there's even a vine or ten that he used to hold his friends from falling.
Perseus doesn't sleep quickly enough to not hear the yell of anguish that comes from Lee Fletcher - the pain of losing a brother and not being able to fight beside him.
But he does sleep - and he dreams. He dreams of Hades killing Maria Di Angelo, not Hera, like Zeus told Nico. He dreams of Zeus cursing the Oracle - and he seethes, because he also sees what happened to May Castellan.
He keeps getting angrier and angrier at the gods - it's building inside of him. But his friends are still here, still fragile. He can't let them suffer more.
Perseus wakes up, checks on everyone - most everyone is either injured and/or exhausted, but he checks on every camper. He knows all of their names, their ages, their cabins. - and promises to sit up to talk with Thalia and Nico - war makes him prone to peace - and promptly goes back to sleep.
He dreams of Rachel. He wants to scream for her not to come: but she'll anyway.
Perseus dreams of a boy. He is his age - maybe a little younger. His hair is blonde and his skin is whiter - but Percy glances at his eyes, and there are waves in them.
There's a girl by his side - she is familiar to Percy, somehow. They're climbing a mountain.
The dream ends and Percy can't make heads or tails of it. He asks Thalia if she has a brother, but she says that she doesn't, looking wistful.
Prometheus is tempting - but he knows there's no Luke anymore, there's only Kronos. And the gods are horrible, vile and immature - but they never killed any of Percy's friends. Some of them died for the gods - but never by their hands, so for now, Perseus would toe the line.
He does want to punch Hermes again. He takes the Pythos - if everything goes wrong, he will not hesitate in going down for the sake of his friends - but there have been six deaths, and it's enough.
"Was it worth it?" He asks Ethan.
"Alabaster is alive" And it's all the answer Percy needs.
He dreams of Ethan and Alabaster. Alabaster is alive, yes, but he is missing half a leg - courtesy of Clarisse herself. Luke - Kronos - is indifferent, and Ethan curses the daughter of Ares - "The sword that took from us will take from you"
He contains Hyperion with his shadows. Then he helps Grover (who was half asleep, because of Morpheus) to make the Titan into a tree. It's a pomegranate tree - then he sets hellish fire to it and sacrifices it to Hades and Persephone.
A pig is in the sky - this time around, Annabeth and her frightening army of automatons kill it with Nico's help.
Perseus laughs - because Annabeth has about two hundred automatons under her command, Martin Luther King and Alexander Hamilton leading the charge with a giant bull being ridden by the Mad Hatter behind them.
It's weird to see historic figures Percy admires - like Jane Bolin, Sylvia Mendez, or Abraham Lincoln - fighting alongside people he downright despises - Thomas Jefferson and the goatfucker, herpes-ridden, Colombus. His Comparative Government teacher would have a field day.
Annabeth and Nico's pair up is amazing - They fight alongside like they have been doing it all life.
Nico is a force of nature, flying and commanding the winds to do his bidding - His eyes shine in the midst of the stormy clouds. His specialty is weather manipulation - he hasn't had much success with direct energy or electric discharges.
Annabeth has her mother's tenacity for war - and her clever mind for strategies. It's clear in her eyes - she is racking the weaker points of the Clazmonian Sow in her mind and destroying it. The automatons hold the pig in place - and she makes bacon of it.
Hercules couldn't do it. Nico and Annabeth can, because they have the power and the mind.
Perseus is still fighting off monsters - but they're too widespread, so they retreat to the doors of the Empire State Building.
Percy does a mental tally: of sixty-two campers, six are confirmed dead, twenty are injured and nine are out of commission on exhaustion. There should be 27 orange shirts here - but there's only twenty.
Percy wonders if the seven missing are injured, or dead, or under a pile of rubble somewhere with no one to help them. Is there someone being slowly eaten by monsters? Is there someone alone and injured and abandoned? He doesn't know.
He prays that those seven deserted them - at least that means they probably are alive and well.
Perseus looks at Phoebe's grief-stricken face, and he knows it's not probable - she had almost three dozen hunters with her, and now there's barely fifteen still fighting, Thalia nowhere to be seen.
They prepare for their last standing - Percy keeps conjuring skeletons, but they're no match for the sheer strength of the hyperborean giants. Nico is shoulder to shoulder with the Stoll brothers against a group of telkhines - Clarisse is bringing down a whole giant by herself.
After the Party Ponies save them - Chiron leads the charge against his own father, and Perseus is so proud of his mentor he can't even put in words how much - he goes to sleep. Fighting gets him tired quickly, and they'll come back.
He dreams of Dionysus. Perseus is not fond of any god who is not Persephone, but Dionysus is mostly okay sometimes. He seems to care about his children.
Perseus couldn't care less about the Western Civilization - but he'll care for Pollux. It's one of his demigods, after all, and Underworld people are possessive of theirs (i.e. Hades and Persephone).
He dreams of Thalia, in her father's palace, begging Poseidon to leave the underwater war and help with the invasion - His wife is none too happy with the presence of his immortal bastard daughter.
He wakes up to Rachel's helicopter falling - how is Rachel even awake, is a mistery.
The improbable pair Nico and Annabeth strike again: The girl knows how to fly helicopters, and the boy can fly himself. They save the redhead and the pilot - everything is fine.
"You're not the hero"
"Why did you risk yourself to tell me something I already know?"
Rachel doesn't explain - she can't. But she has a vision that says that he is not the hero. The hero of what? Perseus has no idea. But there's no way any of his cousins is dying for this stupid prophecy.
Suddenly, there's a drakon there. Rachel has another prophecy - Perseus fears she will walk the path that led May Castellan to destruction - that only a child of Ares will be able to kill it.
Bad news: All children of Ares are otherwise out of battle.
Clarisse is resting after a nasty concussion - and her brothers and Apollo's children are fighting yet again because Lee Fletcher is in no condition to stop them and Michael Yew is dead. Ares' side refuses to fight without the chariot - which Cabin 7 has hidden somewhere.
The best they can do is fend the drakon off until a miracle occurs. And it does: Clarisse, in full armor, manages to lead her brothers into battle.
Clarisse is dead. Something shatters inside of Perseus - and he leaves the drakon for the Ares' children to solve - he can't kill it anyway - and starts to vaporize the army behind it.
He is so caught up in bloodlust, that he almost misses Clarisse slaying a dragon. Clarisse, who has no armor. Clarisse, who is alive.
Ethan's curse rang true - Clarisse's weapon took something from her.
Silena is a traitor. She is also dead - which makes her a martyr, and probably going to reunite with her boyfriend in Elysium.
He remembers how easy is to fall for Luke's charm - he was - is - still in love with the guy. Percy thought the son of Hermes could do no wrong - and he wonders how much of his rage against the gods sprout from his influence.
Something evil inside of Perseus's mind tells him she deserved it. It tells Perseus that better her than Clarisse - but he shuts it down, and concentrates on his shining red friends.
He hates Ares. But he might just have an okay side if he can produce such a magnificent daughter.
Silena is the Patroclus to Clarisse's Achilles, and the Drakon is Hector - and the daughter of Ares is sure to parade its dead body.
It's the first time they feel like they are winning. It doesn't last - but as he hugs Clarisse tightly, he thinks he might cry of relief.
Clarisse looks tough - but she is a wonderful human being. She loves Silena with her whole heart - even more than she loves Chris, her best friend. Silena might've been in love with Charles - but she and Clarisse? They are soulmates.
The damned Pythos is following Perseus - and he is done with it. He knows where hope will survive best. Rachel wants him to give it to Hestia - but he owns the fire goddess nothing.
She has never interfered, not once, to help the dozens of demigods with no family that is abandoned in Cabin 11, and he won't forgive her for it.
He sacrifices hope to Persephone because that's what spring is. Spring is the hope of a new life. Maybe, Perseus thinks, it'll convince his father to come.
They go down to make their final stand against the forces of Kronos. There's not a lot of them - but they're not getting through those doors.
Well, his father doesn't come. But Poseidon does, with his whole army, Tyson and Thalia behind him, and the scales seem to turn.
And then Kronos cuts the barrier. Perseus can see his Mom (why is his Mom here with a handgun?!) and Poseidon fighting against the monsters under the eyes of extremely confused mortals.
Some are trying to break the barrier - but it's futile. Kronos has corraled them like sheep for the slaughter.
It's just him, Grover, Annabeth and Nico, fighting against Kronos vanguard - which is big, but not as strong as they are.
Kronos passes him without resistance - Ethan follows, but there's anger in his eyes - not for Percy, but for the monster he is leashed to. Alabaster is not there.
As soon as Kronos powers stop working on them, the four follow the titan - and some things never change, no matter the universe.
This time, it's Nico who falls because of Hera - it's her curse over all of her husband's bastards.
Ethan takes one look at Perseus, and they don't even need to fight. They have been friends for longer than they have been enemies - and they both loathe the gods, but Kronos is as much of an all-powerful controller being as any of the Olympians.
They battle against Kronos - Perseus has only his ax against his scyther - a true Underworld fight.
Ethan dies. And Perseus bloodlust consumes him - it clouds his eyes and he can only keep fighting.
"If... if we've had cabins... and they had thrones"
It's true, and more than ever, Perseus wishes Kronos wasn't such a bastard. He wouldn't bother killing the gods - but the titan is a way worse option.
"LUKE, PLEASE" It's Annabeth. He doesn't have her faith - she didn't saw his transformation. But he tries anyway because he loves Luke just as much as he hates Kronos.
"Luke, remember our summer" But his words are caught up in his throat when the titan throws him against the wall.
But the amalgamation of his friend and an all-powerful being looks confused, so props for his genius best friend.
Kronos shows them a rainbow message of Typhon - and that's where Perseus it's pretty sure he starts liking his father.
Because the Lord of the Dead opens up the earth and gets out in a black chariot guided by skeletal horses like a king. By his right side, is Persephone, in armor battle as a queen should be. By his left, is Demeter, who looks every single bit like the matron she is supposed to be.
Behind him, a hundred thousand dead roars. Charon is mounting Cerberus - and literal hell is unleashed upon the Father of Monsters.
The gods strike down Typhon, sending him back to be locked away - this time, in the depths of Tartarus instead of Mount Etna.
Kronos gets mad. Utterly, undoubtedly mad. He talks about burning Luke's body. Then he hurts Annabeth and breaks two promises in one fell swoop.
"Luke.... remember family" It's what Annabeth utters, but Perseus, already certain of their own demise, is crying now.
"That summer Luke, you promised to never hurt her again. You remember it? YOU PROMISED LUKE!!"
Annabeth's promise was already broken - he had hurt her, all those years ago, in Mt. Othrys. But the promise he made to Percy - that he would never hurt her again - is new and broken, in the river Styx no less.
Luke regains his own body, for a minute, and Perseus runs to him like a man in a desert with no water.
"Please, please tell me there's a way to undo this, Luke, please, please"
"There isn't one, Percy" And it's the first time he hears Luke call him Percy, Percy and not Perseus, in his own voice, in two years. Percy cries.
"We... we don't have much time, hellebore. Give me Annabeth's dagger. Before he... before he takes back"
Luke calls him hellebore and it makes him start crying all over again. He gives him the dagger - and Luke kills himself, taking Kronos out with him.
Luke doesn't need to ask if Percy has ever loved him - Percy kept loving Luke, one-sided as it was, even when Kronos was there.
He still crying over Luke's body when the gods arrive. Luke is dead. Ethan is dead. Silena is dead. Michael Yew is dead. Charles is dead.
He lost three of his best friends in two days. Ethan is dead. Luke is dead. Luke is dead.
Perseus can't stop crying. They take Luke's body away - but he can't stop. Annabeth explains what happened to the gods - most of it, anyway. Apollo says he is in shock - his father says he is a hero.
Perseus doesn't feel like a hero. Was this all worth it? Was it worth it the pain and the death and the suffering?
Persephone touches him - and he has no tears to cry anymore. She can't hug him here, but she'll do so later.
He stares at the walls, listening to his friends being awarded - compensated by their siblings and friends' deaths - with a blank stare. Perseus wants his mom.
They call for him. He raised his head but doesn't bother getting up. He just saved their asses - for the fifth time in a roll. He deserves to grieve.
They offer him immortality. A place between the gods.
He laughs. Zeus looks murderous, but he can't stop laughing.
"My apologies, but I have to refuse," he says. But in his mind, he is thinking about how could they even think he might want to sit between them and be an all-powerful being, be another god ignoring his children and messing with mortal lives while thousands die for him.
"Promise me, on the river Styx, that you'll give me the wish that I want."
They promise him, that if it's within their capabilities, they shall grant him his wish.
"I wish for every child at the age of twelve to be claimed. I wish for cabins in Camp Half-Blood, for every single minor god, and my own father. I wish for Calypso to be free, and to the demigods from the opposite side of this war to be given amnesty. It's not their fault. It's not any of our faults."
"You dare to-" Zeus begins, but Percy is really tired of Zeus.
"We fought your war, we won your battles. We, the unclaimed and rejected stowaways of Cabin 11. We, the children of minor and Underworld gods. We deserve respect. Just like my father deserves a throne, just like the minor gods deserve justice."
"Don't you fear us?" Athena asks, something weird shining in her eyes.
"I thought I would be dead today. At least if I die now, I'm dying for something I believe in."
It stays unsaid that he doesn't believe in them. The other demigods look at him worried - but he is not afraid of the gods.
They grant his wish. Some of them aren't happy with it, but they have to do it. He meets Calypso at the front gates of Olympus - and her smile can brighten the pits of Tartarus. He sees Alabaster talking with Lou Ellen - they are both crying.
He thinks it's the end - it's not. Thalia tells him Rachel left for Camp in her Pegasus - and his father has lift the curse, the Prophecy is gone, but he fears for his best friend.
Perseus is too tired for shadow travel - he does it anyway. He flickers, but anyway, he is too late.
It works. Rachel - his best friend - is the new Oracle. Someone jokes they can't be together anymore and Rachel lifts an eyebrow.
"We never were. Didn't you see the last few hours?" Well, he did out himself. Mostly - they might say it's just friendship, and he will hate the way they twist it. Luke wasn't a villain, and Perseus isn't a pure hero with a heart of gold.
Perseus is healing from lost love - and Annabeth is too. His crush on her was only a crush, he thinks - She is his best friend first and foremost. They cry together at the bonfire that burns away the shrouds of 43 demigods - from both sides - and 16 hunters of Artemis. Their souls all rest in Elysium now.
Alabaster comes back to Camp and helps his siblings to build the new Cabin for Hecate, full of spelled blocks and magic chimneys. Clovis and Tyene have their hands full with their own cabins - it doesn't help they keep getting sidetracked with naps.
Somehow, Nico, Thalia, and his bond over helping construct Cabin 13 - They are both way too invested in the goth vibe, mostly because Cabin 1 looks like a temple, and Cabin 3 looks like a beach cabin. And both of them are so over it.
Perseus doesn't want a goth cabin - he is fighting against the aesthetic for years - but sometimes, there are no arguments. His Cabin is made of black marble, and there are skulls everywhere, with torches shining with green fire. Outside, at least. Inside, it looks like Persephone's garden, with input from the queen herself. It's ready just shy of the end of summer vacation.
Rachel tells the next Great Prophecy. Perseus isn't such a positive person to think it won't affect him - he hopes at least it'll wait until he is done with High School.
That night, he dreams of the blonde boy again - it's his first night without nightmares since the battle. He has a scar in his lip, and his green eyes pierce Percy's soul. Perseus wonders if they'll ever meet, wonders if this boy is one of the Seven of the Prophecy.
But alas, Perseus lets it go. The summer is over - he is sixteen, somehow. He is alive and going to go back to his mortal life and his junior year, and grief. Not everything is fine - but eventually, it will be.
It's not the end. Not yet.
Friendships in PJO (Part 1)
I know a lot of people talk about headcannons of the couples or ships and sometimes people forget some pretty great friendships in the books. These are headcannons of friendship that didn’t really happen but I think these would be pretty good friendships.
Trials of Apollo Spoilers
Also I’m ignoring Jason’s death because I don’t consider that cannon.
Percy and Piper
A lot of people talk about this pair and honestly these two would be such a good duo.
One night, Piper wakes up from a nightmare from the war. Jason was at Camp Jupiter so she went to go the Posiden Cabin. She knocks on the door and Percy answers. They both couldn’t sleep and start talking about there nightmares and they really bonded after that.
They would be such a sassy duo. Like both of them would not really listen to authority and pretty much piss of the Gods a lot.
They like to go skateboarding together and make stupid vlogs about all the tricks they would do or something stupid stuff like either of them falling. Afterwords they would get their nails done and this was mostly Percy’s idea, and sometimes when they go to a mortal salon, someone might give Percy a dirty look. Saying some excuse like “Oh he’s a boy, boy’s shouldn’t get there nails done that’s for girls”. Piper curses that person and is like “Bitch no!” Otherwise they go to the Aphordite cabin and those guys are chill and really don’t care, they like to make people feel beautiful or handsome.
They both go surfing togther too. Piper misses the beaches in California and Percy takes her to the closest beach near Camp Haft-Blood. They like surf and collect seashells by the beach. Percy likes to take Piper underwater using his water bubble thing and they see all the sea life and coral under there.
They watch “Dance Moms” or any drama show, and get so invested in all the drama.
Piper and Percy cuff there jeans and listen to Sweater Weather togther. They would blast it at full volume in the Posiden Cabin at 3:00am, singing it at the top of their lungs. Sometimes Leo joins them (those three are all bisexual, no one can convice me otherwise). They like to go to Pride together with other LGBTQ+ campers and they both paint small bi flags on there cheeks.
They also help each other set up dates for Jason or Annabeth, during anniversary’s or just dates in general.
They both would really support each other in anything and have a very chaotic friendship full of teasing and so much sass.
Jason and Frank
At first Frank never really knew Jason. Jason was missing for a while and let’s face it, at Camp Jupiter, Jason was talked about like a hero. To Frank he was important and once he met Jason, he was a normal guy. During Argo ll, they never really got to know each other since they were saving the world from LITERAL MOTHER EARTH
After the war, the Romans were going back to there Camp meaning Reyna, Frank, and Hazel were leaving soon. Jason had to go, to bring his stuff and move to Camp Haft-Blood and teach Frank about being a Praetor. During there few lessons, they became close and got to know each other.
Anytime Jason gets stressed, Frank turns into a kitten and calms him down. When Frank gets stress from being a praetor, Jason tells him to rest and take a break.
They love to watch cheesy Rom-coms and Disney Channel Original movie and either laugh about stupid it is or cry of how sincere it is.
They like to train together and honestly they are both the moms of the demigod friend group (The Seven + Nico and Reyna) They plan hangouts for there friends.
There really just a nice, chill duo who hangs out and just have fun.
Rachel and Hazel
Hazel and Rachel never properly met. Mostly because Hazel is Roman and at this point Rachel is just Greek like everyone just considers her a Greek. One day, Hazel came to visit CBH, to see her friends and Nico.
Chrion asks if she would like to help Rachel out repainting the Camp’s van and making it more different and less boring. She agrees and properly meets Rachel. At first Hazel is sort of scared because Rachel is the Oracle but once she gets to know her, she’s really just a goofy, fun-loving person and they really hit it off.
They like to paint or draw together and just talk. Sometimes Hazel would be Rachel’s muse or Rachel would be Hazel’s muse. Rachel would also go on art rants and Hazel’s a pretty good listener, so she listen’s even though sometimes she has no idea what Rachel’s talking about.
Rachel introduces Hazel to Disney which she got hooked on. They like to have Disney marathons in Rachel’s cave and will spend hours watching Disney.
Rachel also helps Hazel navigate the mordern world and technogly. Hazel also taught Rachel how to ride a horse.
Rachel is pretty adventurous which Hazel loves and they try new things every time they visit each other.
They were overall a very fun loving pair of friends who are artisy and obsessed with Disney.
Nico and Leo
I know a lot of people ship Valangelo, I love these two but I personally see them as a really great friendship. Sorry to Valangelo shippers but here’s there friendship.
At first Nico and Leo hate each other. Nico just finds Leo annoying and Leo just thinks of Nico as the creepy Hades kid. After hanging out a lot more since there in the same group of friends, they become closer.
If Nico ever feels sad, Leo would always cheer him up with a dumb joke which surprisingly makes him laugh. Anytime Leo is sad, Nico will attempt to make a joke and Leo would look surprised and yell across the room “Hey guys, Nico made a joke!”
When Leo overworks himself, Nico will go to Bunker Nine and brings him a Happy Meal. Leo takes a break and they both play Mythomagic, which Nico got back into.
Leo built them motorcycles and they like to race around the woods with them, Calypso and Will would be cheering on the sidelines being supportive.
Leo introduces him to Pop Culture a lot more and even gives him (and Hazel) lessons on what’s been going on in the world and how it’s changed since the 40s
During the days when Bianca and Esperanza died, most of there friends and campers would leave them alone execpt there significant others (or annoyance in Will’s case) and each other. Nico and Leo both empathize with each other because Esperanza and Bianca were there rocks and there only family (besides the gods but there not really around)
Overall, they would be the Keith and Lance duo. Leo being the more jokey one and Nico being the more tough and cynical one. Its one of the more unexpected friendships.
Reyna and Annabeth
Reyna and Annabeth never were really friends at first because of the whole Greek and Roman war going on and once Reyna helped them, the seven had to go stop Gaea and she had to go deliver the statue to Camp Haft-Blood.
After the war, the Romans and Greeks became friends, Reyna and Annabeth made a peace treaty/alliance togther. They became pretty good friends after that.
Annabeth helps Reyna make renovations to New Rome and Camp Jupiter. Reyna helps with a few new battle plans for Camp Haft-Blood so there a lot more prepared for another war or battle.
If either of them are stressed, they will play Minecraft or Animal Crossing online. Like they both have those gaming headsets and will go online for each other.
When they visit each other, they go to a small, quiet coffee shop and get coffee or pastries and just chill and catch up with each other. Afterwords, they go to Centeral Park or a park in California and have a walk.
Annabeth introduced Reyna to Harry Potter. They both finished the movies in like a week and the books take them longer because of there dyslexia but Reyna fell in love. Reyna takes the Pottermore quiz and gets Gryffindor. Annabeth and Reyna are that iconic Slytherin and Gryffindor team.
Once Reyna becomes a hunter, Annabeth, Reyna, and Thalia all go hunting together. I feel like all three of them have completions of who can hunt the most. Sometimes Annabeth will tag along with the hunters and go camping. Artemis is fine with it because she likes Annabeth.
They would be that badass duo that you don’t mess with or else they won’t hesitate to snap your neck.
Could you do some headcannons for Jason like you did with Percy? Thanks ❤️
Is this Pjo anon? It’s a red heart this time so Im not sure but totally!!!
Ok so
He flies we know this
But
He gives free rides
Hear me out!!!!
He only does it with his friends but like they’ll be like “Jason can you fly me to _____” because flying is faster and he just like scoops them up and takes them there
Nico never asks because he can shadow travel but he’d probably never let Jason carry him anyway
Anyway Nico and Jason are definitely buddies
They talk about all kinds of things like why Annabeth is so scary and strategies for capture the flag
Jason, Percy, and Nico actually hang a lot since they’re sons of the big three
Also I feel like Jason is a huge gossip
Not in a mean way it just happens naturally.
“Did you hear about what Kayla did??”
He tries to fact check his gossip first so he doesn’t spread rumors, though
Jason likes 80s pop and you can’t tell me any different
Like you can catch him around camp shamelessly singing take on me
And he and Leo are like brothers. They literally hang out all the time and stuff
Leo helps Jason be less serious and Jason helps reel Leo in if he gets too excited or worked up
They’re quite the dynamic duo I must say
I mean have you been against them in 2 v 2 fighting?
Jason’s a god with a sword and Leo’s got that Archimedes Sphere thingy and he’s just small and fast so he’s hard to hit even if he isn’t the best fighter.
Random thought but he loves pipers hair
He braids it all the time and likes to just play with it
They go on dates on the roof of cabins because he just picks her up and flies her up and then they’re on the roof and people generally just leave them alone
Piper never learned proper sword fighting, she just had the dagger, so Jason slowly teaches her
He also likes sword fighting with Nico and Percy because they use their powers to a small extent (not to hurt each other though) and it gets really fun
One time he accidentally smited Nico but they pretend it never happened
Tbh Jason is kind of a dad friend
Like he makes sure everyone is being safe and staying out of trouble most of the time
I’m sorry I don’t have much for Jason 🤷‍♀️ that’s it
AJ and Percy’s relationship {and some other stuff}
-So, Percy wasn’t exactly thrilled. AJ is only a few years younger than him {A year older than Nico, which is anywhere from 5 to 1 year younger than Percy depending on the site.} which means that Poseidon got with her mother not long after leaving Sally. {This is like foreshadowing, before I start the real story, so when the story starts AJ will be 15, Percy\Annabeth will be 16-ish, Jason will be around 17. The ages always kind of confused me, but I tried here.}
-And he wasn’t at camp often, so they really didn’t talk much anyway.
-But eventually {with a little persuasion from Annabeth}, he started to interact with her more.
-She was surprised by his sudden interest, but just kind of went with it.
-Once they got  used to it though, SO OVERPROTECTIVE.
Which caused the proceeding arguement.
AJ: You don’t control my life, you have nothing on me, you hold nothing over me, what are you gonna do it with? Sheer masculinity? Gods, you’re not that entitled, are you?
Percy: I’m sorry you want to get hurt, but I’m trying to protect you! And I think I deserve some respect for that, I am you’re brother!
AJ: *Laughing*
Percy: Oh, do you know something I don’t?
AJ: It’s just so convenient that you are my brother now, because last time I checked, you couldn’t find a single fuck to give about me.
-They didn’t talk for a few weeks, but then Annabeth saved the day once again, and they made up.
-And she let him read some of her songs\poems, which he loved.
-It was a really big step for her, because the only people who had seen them to that point were Gia and Nico.
-Her and Annabeth go to each other for advise, because they have both led very different lives, and have experience in different areas.
-Annabeth is an older sister to her.
-Piper is an acquaintance.
-Nico is her best friend.
-Will is that guy that her best friend is totally in love with.
-And Jason is a person.
-She eats most of her lunches by the lake, to write in peace, so she doesn’t see really see him there.
-And they really only have Percy and a few other mutual friends in common.
-So they really only talk occasionally.
-But he’s cute tho.
-Not that she’d date him solely based on that.
-Not that she can really date anybody, because Percy has toned it down a bit, but not completely.
-Compromise.
-But she could die at literally any minute, and she really doesn’t need more drama.
“You’re getting crumbs all over my bed” + “You’re so fucking hot when you’re mad”
Percy is never more grateful for Annabeth’s Yankees hat than the moment he realizes they can use it to sneak him into her dorm room after visiting hours. Sure, there are all the times its existence has saved their lives (and by extension, the world) on quests, but what’s that compared to unlimited alone time with his gorgeous girlfriend?
Well, unlimited alone time is a bit of a stretch. It’s mostly just Percy staring at Annabeth while she studies or draws up blueprints, but he’s happy to do it if it means being around her. He loves spending the weekends with her at camp or his mom’s, but counting down the days to see her is tiring. This arrangement is much better.
He’s been coming after class long enough for them to settle into a routine: Annabeth sets up at her desk, laptop, blueprint, or notebook in front of her while Percy sits on her bed, making as little noise as possible to avoid disturbing her.
Percy studies in his free time too, except his subject is Annabeth.
Her bed is on the same wall as her desk, giving Percy a perfect view of her profile while she works. Sometimes light will filter in through the window above her desk, highlighting her collarbone and her honey blonde hair, which is almost always in a ponytail or bun. On more casual days, she’ll leave it down, but that’s rare at this point in the school year. Occasionally the red coral on her beaded necklace will glint in the light, catching Percy’s eye from across the room.
On other, cloudier days, the only light comes from a dim desk lamp. Those days are for studying shadows and the way they fall across her eyes when her brows furrow in focus, her nose when it scrunches up in concentration. Her hands cast long shadows across the desk as she works, her fingers warping in the light to look like giant spiders typing away at a shadow-keyboard.
He’d never tell her any of this out loud.
The no noise rule means no loud snacks, he’s found out. Nothing bothers Annabeth more than the sound of Percy’s chewing when she’s trying to focus (she’s reminded him several times). He makes sure to save something other than chips from his lunch on the days he goes to see her.
Today’s project is an essay, one that is apparently really important for the class that makes or breaks her grade for the whole semester. Stress rolls off of Annabeth in waves as she types furiously at her laptop, her fingers attacking the backspace key more often than any of the others.
So of course today is the one day Percy only has half of a can of Pringles can left in his lunchbox. Of course.
He makes a mental pro-con list about taking them out to eat. Pros: it’s been a long day without much to eat, he’s needs something to do with his hands, and he’s getting hungry. Cons: angry girlfriend.
In the end, he figures his rumbling stomach will be just as much as a distraction as eating, and he decides to bite the bullet. The first thirty seconds of opening the can go fine – he gets it out and open without Annabeth so much as glancing his way. Percy watches her carefully, keeping track of her eyes moving across the screen to make sure they don’t waver.
The next thirty seconds are not so fortunate.
Percy would like to speak with the team who decides the Pringles target demographic, because honestly, whose hand is small enough to fit in these things? The answer: not Percy. His hand gets caught about a third of the way down.
Don’t panic, he thinks as he glances back up at Annabeth. Inspiration must’ve struck in the middle of his predicament, because her spine is straight and her eyes are alight with a maniacal, almost mad scientist sort of excitement. She’s seriously beautiful.
And somehow, she’s dating Percy, who is staring at her like an idiot with his hand stuck in a Pringles can. Since when was fate this kind to him?
“You’re getting crumbs all over my bed.”
“I’m sorry?”
Annabeth looks away from her laptop to glare at Percy. She’s wearing that flavored chapstick today, the one that tastes like strawberries. He can tell by the slight pink tint it gives her lips.
“Well?” she raises her eyebrows at him, and it’s clear he completely missed what she just said.
“Yeah,” he responds, full of fake confidence and the hope that his answer will suffice. (It doesn’t.)
“Good to know,” she bites out.
Without the slightest clue what he’s just admitted to, Percy wrenches his hand out of the can, wincing when that frees more crumbs, and works on cleaning them off.
“Oh my god, just let me do it.” Annabeth marches over and wipes the crumbs over the edge of her bed and into her hand instead of letting them fall to the carpet like Percy hand been. A singular curl is working its way out of her messy bun, one perfect spiral aching to be free. Percy literally has to hold his own hands to stop himself from tucking it behind her ear like a lovesick idiot.
Angry Annabeth isn’t something Percy sets out with the intention of creating, but he’d be lying if he said she wasn’t one of his favorite subjects. Being the source of that anger is a bit scary, but she’s so stunning when she’s mad. Telling her this is a one-way ticket to getting punched, Percy knows, but he can think it.
All the lines of her face are set in stony determination. She has such a proud face, all sharp angles and strong structure. Fitting for an architect.
Annabeth is inches away from Percy now; he can smell her strawberry chapstick and lemon shampoo. In their closeness, he can see her eyes burning through her lashes.
In what is the least helpful of intrusive thoughts, Percy can’t help but think that she looks really fucking hot when she’s mad.
“Excuse me?!” Annabeth’s eyes snap up to his, anger turning her grey eyes to storm clouds.
Yeah, definitely hot.
And definitely not what he should be thinking.
Which means he definitely shouldn’t kiss her right now.
Yet as Percy’s lips press to hers, he can’t seem to remember why this is such a bad idea. Annabeth tastes like strawberries and he gets to tuck away that curl and holy shit she just bit his lip.
She ends the kiss almost as suddenly as he started it, leaving Percy to fall forward on the bed at the loss of her.
“Study break?” he suggests hopefully.
Annabeth’s response is an eyeroll as she straightens up and dusts the crumbs off into the garbage can by her desk. She doesn’t look at him again, just resumes typing as furiously as before.
Okay, Percy thinks. I deserve that one.
Just as he’s resigned himself to an afternoon of stilted silence, Annabeth slams her laptop shut. Before anything processes, Percy registers the hunger in her eyes as she says, “Fuck it. Study break,” and throws a leg over his lap.
Annabeth may not get much more studying done, but Percy certainly does.
Not Too Fast to See
Requested by @inhumanshadows for a Percy Jackson x Male Speedster Reader who can see through the Mist.
I love this idea so much!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People think that because you’re fast, you’re unobservant.
When in fact, you see a heck of a lot more than others do.
You’ve been a speedster for a while now - long story involving a freak accident with a lightningrod and a science fair - but you’ve been... Seeing for a lot longer.
The world is full of monsters. And strange people with swords and mystical powers and such.
It’s hard to not feel crazy when a giant black mastiff comes barreling through the streets of Manhattan, it’s woofs like machine-gun fire.
And everyone else just moves out of the way, pointing at it’s trash-can-lid-sized feet and squealing, “Puppy!”
And you are fed up with it, so you superspeed in front of the giant hellhound and roar at it. “STOP!”
There is an “oof” from behind the beast as the boy who was chasing it runs right into it’s rear.
“Mrs. O’Leary? What’s wrong?” you hear his voice from around the dog.
“Hey, man!” you yell, zooming around to the other side of the dog to meet a rather handsome guy with jet black hair and sea green eyes. “Can you see this?”
“Uh... no?”
You cross your arms. “You called the giant tank-sized dog Mrs. O’Leary.”
The dog WOOFS at the sound of her name, shaking the very ground around her like a mini-earthquake.
The guy curses under his breath. “You can see through the Mist, too.”
“The Mist?” you ask. “What?”
So you follow Percy while he walks Mrs. O’Leary, and he tells you a lot about what’s going on. And it makes -
SO.
MUCH
SENSE!
You’ve been obsessively reading every Greek mythology book you could find after you noticed that one of these things only you saw was a pegasus.
You follow Percy to his mom and stepdad’s apartment.
Paul Blofis cries out in shock. “Oh, wow! It’s you! You’re Tempo!”
Sally looks confused. “The superhero?”
Percy has no idea what they’re talking about. Being a demigod doesn’t exactly keep one informed of the current events of superheroes popping up.
But anyway, Sally Jackson tells you all about her time seeing through the Mist, and how it started to leave as she got older, although her sight was never as strong as yours.
“So, now that you know you aren’t going crazy, what’s next?” Percy asks, walking you to the street.
“These monsters,” you say. “Can they hurt mortals like me?”
He nods, not sure where you’re going with this.
“Then I want to help. It’s kinda my job to protect people.”
His first instinct is to shake his head. You’re a mortal. But then he remembers that you’ve superpowers to you. “Okay.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, really. But first, I think you should meet Chiron.”
“Oh my gosh, he’s still alive?”
And it’s awesome to go to Camp Half-Blood and meet Chiron, who tells you mortals have been blessed with speedster powers by Hermes for centuries, and you must be a very special mortal indeed.
Percy thinks it’s cute how excited you are. You might know more about Greek myths than even Annabeth, but the way you keep pointing at things and talking to yourself is adorable.
Wait a minute. Adorable?
So, for the next few weeks, you race cross-country, helping out demigods by speeding through monsters or distracting the media with your presence so they can evade awkward situations from mortals who can’t see like you do.
Percy doesn’t have a cell phone, but he sends you Iris-messages. You had to exchange a lot of money to drachmas in order to receive all of them - Iris charges through the nose for calls from demigods to unrelated mortals.
And one day, Percy asks if you’ll come to camp to play Capture the Flag with the demigods. The Hermes cabin immediately tries to call you for their team, since obviously you have their dad’s blessing.
But you go and stand near Percy, because you kind of have a crush on him
But Mr. D - who doesn’t seem to hate you, probably because as a mortal, you don’t remind him overmuch of any of his relations, and Dionysus has always been kind towards mortals that haven’t done anything to anger him - puts you in the forest as an obstacle.
 Since with your speed the game would be over before Chiron could finish blowing his horn to signal it had begun.
You can literally be almost everywhere at once during the game.
None of the Celestial bronze weapons can touch you, so most of the campers have no hope against you.
And eventually you come across Percy, who smirks at you.
“Okay, Y/N, let’s make a deal.”
“You’re awfully cocky. What makes you think you have anything I want?”
He smiles wider. “I think you’ll wanna hear this.”
“Okay. Shoot.”
He steps closer. “You let me capture the flag, and I’ll take you out on a date.”
You are stunned. “A-a date?”
He moves even closer. Your faces are very close together. “Yeah. We’ll grab pizza. I know this great place near Central Park.”
You’d like that. A lot. “I-”
But the horn sounds. While Percy was distracting you, his team had snuck across the river and captured the flag.
You feel a bit used after the game and during the festivities where the winners are crowned. You get a laurel wreath too, for being such a great obstacle.
“At least, until that last bit near the end...” Mr. D. says, tapping his nose and looking at you until you blush.
Anyway, the half-bloods start to clear up, and you go behind the Hermes cabin to maybe cry a little, but then you hear Percy’s voice, followed by Annabeth’s.
“Just tell him, Seaweed Brain.”
“Did you see how he looked at me during dinner? He hates me. He probably thinks I was just playing him during the game to win.”
Annabeth pauses. “You were playing him. It was the plan.”
You can almost hear Percy roll his eyes. “Yeah, but I wasn’t just playing him.”
“Well, tell him that!”
You stand up and pop out of your hiding place. “What’s going on?”
He apologizes for the game.
“But, you know, I wasn’t joking about the date or anything. If you still wanna go. I mean, it’s pizza! And hey, look, if you don’t want to, I can take you anyway, ‘cause that was kind of a dirty trick and I-”
You lean forward and kiss him, because you can tell that this boy is just gonna keep talking.
“Alright then, Seaweed Brain. Send me an Iris-message when you’re in New York, and I’ll come find you.”
He sighs. “I told Annabeth not to tell you that nickname.”
“It’s just so fitting.” You kiss him on the cheek, and he grabs your hand.
“So... it’s a date?”
You nod. “It’s a date. One that I am very much looking forward to.”
After you speed away, Percy goes back to Cabin Three. There, in the privacy of his cabin, he shouts with joy.
Running as fast as you can, you let out an excited whoop.
Neither of you can wait to see the other again.
「Jason x Daughter of Athena Reader」
「Jason x Daughter of Athena Reader」
Hi there. I’m new. That’s why you’ve never seen me anywhere before. But no matter, because I am here to write my heart out. Ooh, and I also take request, check my description if you want me to write something. Without any further ado, let’s get on with the headcanon. Bye! Muah! -Venus
Tumblr media
That wired dysfunctional couple who love each other to the moon and back
He thought you were competitive and intimidating at first
You thought he was a total dork
When you two first met, he asked this dumb question of whether you’d get healed if you touch a dictionary
You almost whacked him in the head with one
As a daughter of Athena, you (obviously) love to read
And by that I mean you are addicted to reading and when you fall down that rabbit hole, you ain’t coming back up in no time
And you’re always curled up in the faded mahogany loveseat when you’re reading
Once, Jason tried to get you to do something with him
You were in the midst of a battle that is vital to the whole plot of the series
You didn’t budge no matter how many times he tried to get you to respond
So he lifted up the loveseat and dumped you outside, orchestrating a small thunderstorm in hopes of shocking you into responding
That didn’t go well
He ended up burning your book, leaving nothing but the charred remains of the hardcover of the book
You chased him down to the ends of the Earth with a butcher’s knife
That fiasco took three months to calm down, and even then you’re still mad at him
He always tries to outsmart you
It never works
Every time he tries to brings up some random but intelligent-sounding fact, you shut him down before he even opens his mouth
PDA depending on your moods
Most days it’s just you and Jason snuggling in his bed in Zeus’ cabin with a good book that you are willing to share with him
You always catch him staring at you when you are doing math/physics problems
He claims that you look adorable when your face scrunches up in confusion
You have this thick wavy hair that you always need to wash but don’t want to dry
Jason knows that and tries his absolute best to turn up the voltages of the hairdryer just so your hair dries up faster
“Jason?” “Yes, babe?” “Did you break the hairdryer again?” “Maybe...?”
But you always know how to fix the problem without having to go to the Hephaestus cabin for help
Jason loves you for that. Saves him from being embarrassed for the fifth time in the week
He gives you the most adorable baby seal eyes when he wants to bro out with Percy
Despite the rivalry between your parents, you actually take a liking to that knucklehead of a demigod
And plus, you absolutely cannot resist those eyes
So of course, you let him go, if only he promised that he would save his v-card for you
You didn’t wonder if he knew what a v-card is
You later busted into the Posideon Cabin with Annabeth only to find Percy and Jason on the bed, completely naked, looking as if they had just ran a couple hundred miles
You and Annabeth were livid
This is the first time of a few hundred
Thalia adores you
Like lowkey adores you
You two are so close you are literally sisters
Storytimes are the best. “Did you know that when Jason is little, he used to fall headfirst into the toilet when he tried to pee.”
“Thalia! You’re embarrassing me!” “Nonsense, little brother.” Cue groan of embarrassment and despair
Storyspinning for the hunters of Artemis becomes a regular thing
You took a storyspinning course sometime around college and fell in love with it
Once you and Thalia were having a sleepover and Thalia dares you to show a hidden talent of yours
You storyspun for a little bit and Thalia’s eyes lit up
She dragged you to the Artemis and told her that you could be the star of the evening when the hunters return from hunting
No lie, Artemis was impressed
She invited you to join the hunters’ dinner and storyspin for them
Of course, you agreed, and though Jason is a little wary, he begrudgingly agreed after much begging (courtesy to Thalia and you)
You had the best night ever
And those nights still happen every twice a week
Jason calls you owlie because of that one time an owl landed on your head to deliver a message from your mother
You call him stormy for obvious reasons
Kisses on the forehead from Jason, and you standing on your tiptoes trying to be taller than him is the best and sweetest thing ever to the eyes of the campers
Jason trying to do a cartwheel but lands on his butt while you tumble around like a pro
Jason was the one who was always the to hug you when your tears soaked through his shirt
You steal his hoodies and wore them proudly, hanging on to the fresh smell of rain and lightning that always comes with Jason
You two compete on everything, even though you always win
Jason retired from being a praetor and moved to Camp Half-Blood just to be with you
He is the kind of guy that likes to surprise you with dates and gifts and takes you on dates on the beach to watch the sun set into the horizon
In fact, he once orchestrated a star symphony for you (with the help of his dad and the Apollo campers)
Jason would only be silly and immature around you
There was once this Capture The Flag council for cabin leaders or chosen demigods and Annabeth snuck you in because she needed an assistant to help her with the notes and battle plans using her Yankees cap
The meeting table was full and there were no seats left, so you pulled off the cap and strutted over to Jason, plopping yourself down on his lap
His face was priceless as you gave him a peck on the lips
The council was like all “ooooo” and gave you and Jason the stink eye until Annabeth saved you from further embarrassment by clearing her throat
You tracing the scars and bruises made by his own lightning and him kissing your neck in the mess hall when you don’t feel like eating
Jason trying to get a good view of you back when you took your shirt off to change but instead got a look at the scars inflected by both sparring and literal back-stabbing
Him being secretly in love with your smile, it lights up his day like no other
You two riding on Tempest and getting one hell of a view of New York
He once joked about his dad striking them out of the sky, and just as he finished the sentence, a bolt of lightning struck about 5mm away from them
Guess Zeus heard it
The love flowing between you is the most ancient and timeless kind of love
Even if the world is about to tear you into shreds, you two would still be together until the very end
You love him unconditionally, and him the same
"And do you solemnly swear to protect me from spiders as long as we both shall live?"
“I promise.”
“Okay so next, there’s,” Bianca was cut off by the newcomer.
“Wait!” He exclaimed grabbing her arm before they could leave the Hades cabin.
“What?” She asked.
“There are two floors right?” Bianca nodded.
“Uh, so can you show me the upstairs?” He asked her.
“No.” She answered simply and turned around.
“Ah! Why not?” He asked and she glared at him.
“You showed me the upstairs and all the other ones!” He complained. She sighed and shook her head.
“Artemis give me strength...” she muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose, “Nico’s room is upstairs.” She explained, hoping the curious kid would drop it.
“So this kid gets a room all to himself!?” He asked, as if it affected him.
“Yes he does, he lives alone in the cabin practically year round, the only other children of Hades being myself and Hazel. I am a Lady of the Hunt and therefore spend most of my time with them. Hazel is a daughter of Pluto technically and stays either in New Rome or at Camp Jupiter most the time. Plus Nico designed the cabin himself, and if there aren’t going to be people there year-round with him, why should he have to share a space with no one?” The kid’s eyes widened and he nodded quickly. Bianca nodded back and they started off toward the arena.
“Well, she handled that better than expected...” Percy muttered from his place in Nico’s lap where they were looking through the tinted windows down to where Bianca was talking to the kid. In reality, Percy and Nico weren’t yet out to the camp. Well, Nico was out as gay, and it was rather obvious that Percy was at least queer to everyone so there wasn’t anything really bad that could happen, but no one knew the two were dating but Nico’s sisters, their significant others, and the duo’s closest friends. That list consisted of Bianca, Hazel, Tyson, Thalia, Frank, Leo, Ella, Lou Ellen, Will, Cecil, Ethan, Alabaster, Jason, Reyna, Annabeth, Piper, Grover, Rachel, and lastly, and surprisingly Clarisse. But over the more recent years, Percy had grown incredibly close to the daughter of Ares, and both were very protective of eachother nowadays. Though their frankly aggressive and borderline toxic bickering never faltered.
“Yeah, she knows the feeling of having a terrible secret though...” Nico explained and Percy glared playfully.
“A terrible secret? Gods, Di Angelo, if I’d known you hated me I wouldn’t have entered a relationship with you.” He joked and Nico pouted and pushed Percy back onto his bed so that he could lay on top of the older demigod.
“Shut up Gattino, we both know I cherish our relationship immensely.” Percy smiled and began carding his fingers through Nico’s hair to soothe him. He knew it was true. Nico had been crushing on Percy for almost 5 years by the time they figured stuff out and got together. Nico treated Percy practically as if he were a god himself, which to be fair, he was. But so was Nico.
“Of course little vampire. I’m completely aware, it’s a wonder you haven’t instructed Annabeth to construct a temple for my worship.” He joked and Nico hummed on his chest.
“Maybe that would be a good idea, si?” Nico asked and Percy made a confused noise in the back of his throat.
“A temple, on my family’s property in Italia. Just for you. And just for me.” Nico said, causing Percy to laugh.
“Neeks, I love you, but you are a broke child and Annabeth does absolutely nothing for free.” Percy pointed out and Nico raised an eyebrow.
“Principe Marino, you are dating a fellow god, of not only Heroic deaths, but also,” Nico kissed Percy’s jaw, “Fortuna di Famiglia.” Nico pointed out and Percy had to laugh at himself. Right, of course, being a son of Hades, Nico was now the god of Heroic deaths and family fortune. Meaning, because of god magic, the money left to him by his grandmama would never run out.
“Well, Neeks, if you’re so rich and prosperous, maybe we should also construct a temple for my worshipment of you.” Percy suggested as he pulled Nico up to kiss his nose.
“Mmm, no, you’re the only one worthy of worship. You’re all tall and muscular and... hot!” Nico explained then sat up, straddling his boyfriend’s waist and lookin down at him.
“Oh?” Percy asked and Nico nodded pointedly.
“First off, you’re skin. It’s gorgeous, golden, sun kissed, beautiful. It’s clear and you’re pretty. Then your hair, which I love, is all fluffy and black and soft and messy, and you always look like you’ve just rolled out of bed.” Nico explained and Percy was blushing now. Nico ignored him and continued, “And you’re eyes, god! Percy your eyes!” Nico let out a downright dirty groan, “Perseus Jackson, you have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. They’re literally the color of sea foam, and they just remind me of the beach near my home in Venice.” Nico explained. Percy’s eyes softened and his heart swelled at the happy but mournful smile that spread across Nico’s features.
“Plus, not to mention, you’re built like a Greek god.” Nico joked and reached under Percy’s shirt to grope his boyfriend’s abs. Percy flushed and shoved Nico away to fall back on the bed.
“Well, Ghost King, you’re not much different, you’ve filled out since I first met you,” Nico laughed.
“I hit puberty Blu Bello,” he pointed out, which caused Percy to laugh.
“Well, you’re a hottie now Nico. You completely skipped the awkward phase and went from cute little kid to hot teenager in 6 months. You’ve got beautiful cheekbones that are quite honestly my weakness and you’re skin is so soft, and pretty and pale, and your hair is long enough for me to play with the ends when we kiss and you’re lips are super soft because they’ve never been used by anyone but me which is a great feeling. And you’re short. Which makes me feel good about myself considering we’re surrounded by Giants at this stupid camp.” Nico laughed and shoved Percy again.
“ Rude!” He shouted then pulled Percy down to his level and kissed him, the kiss slowly becoming more heated as time passed. After a while the boys were heavily making out, only to be rudely interrupted by Will Solace.
“Ew!” He shouted and shielded his eyes while Nico reluctantly and resentfully pulled away from his boyfriend to glare over at his bestfriend.
“Can I help you Solace? I’m kinda busy,” he complained. Will huffed and glared back at him while Percy flushed dark red.
“I’m here to swipe your water-bound boyfriend because there are some younger Hephaestus kids who want to go swimming but Beckendorf, Leo, and Jake are all busy and we know that none of the others are gonna leave the forges.” Nico groaned annoyed and fell forward onto Percy’s chest, wrapping his arms and legs around his boyfriend possessively. Percy laughed at his boyfriends antics and sat up, only for Nico to whine helplessly then flip Solace off.
“F**k you Solace, watch the fire brats yourself this is my boyfriend time.” Nico whined, still koala attaching himself to Percy who was sitting up with Nico in his lap, not even attempting to push the gremlin off.
“Whatever Di Angelo, I don’t like getting wet and you know it,” Will countered, earning himself a glare from Nico.
“Fine, if you manage, watch what I do next time I know you and Jake are enjoying your rare time alone together. I’ll march right up and start talking about how incredible Percy is, and you will only be able to focus on Percy while trying to make out with your boyfriend? How’s that gonna feel asshole?” Will sighed in defeat and sent Nico his patented mom look, expecting it to work like normal, but Nico stood his ground defiantly, which Will supposed was fair. Percy really enjoyed watching the kids so he had classes basically all day, this was his two hours without classes, aka when he spent time with Nico. Will shook his head defeated and left Nico’s cabin.
“Neeks,” Percy started to argue only for Nico to turn his glare on him.
“No, absolutely not, this is the only time of day that I get to have you all to myself because all of your friends are also busy and I’m not and you aren’t, I don’t wanna go down to beach and sit a respectable amount of room apart so that you can make sure no over eager kids who can’t wait until one of your life guard hours drown.” Percy sighed in defeat and pulled Nico back down on top of him to continue to kiss him heatedly, instantly brightening the ghost king’s mood. Nico hummed into the kiss and held onto his boyfriend like he was Nico’s lifeline.
After a few minutes, the boys were forced to break, again, when there was a knock at the door. Nico groaned in annoyance but Percy nudged him away to go answer the door. Nico huffed as he pulled away and looked in the mirror to fix his hair and clothes back. The knock came again but louder and Nico groaned again, but quietly and went to answer the door. Outside there was standing a decidedly uninvited demigod that Nico didn’t recognize.
“Can I help you?” He asked annoyed and the kid looked slightly intimidated. Typically Nico was reasonably nice to the kids at camp, but when they came knocking at his cabin door while he was obviously trying to be alone it was rather annoying.
“Uh, I was looking for Percy...” the kid muttered and Nico looked at him suspiciously.
“What do you want from him?” He asked quite rudely.
“Um, we wanted to go swimming and we kinda need him in order to do so.” Nico only glared at the probably 12 year old kid and huffed.
“Percy’s on his break right now, we’re in the middle of a board game, wait for another hour and we’ll be done and he’ll be back on his life guard duty.” Nico stated and the kid only swallowed and nodded. Nico returned to a grinning Percy who was waiting for Nico to return. The smaller demigod crawled into his boyfriends lap and began kissing his neck.
“Y’know, you should really be nicer to the younger campers,” Percy reasoned and Nico grunted in annoyance.
“They should really respect that you have to take breaks.” He countered and held onto Percy’s waist possessively as he kissed down to Percy’s collar bone.
“Hate to break it to you Ghost King, but I’m kinda a big deal around here.” Nico huffed in annoyance and leaned back to glare at his boyfriend.
“I am three seconds away from shadow traveling us to my room in the underworld,” Nico declared, causing Percy to snort and lean in to steal a chaste kiss. Which Nico quickly returned, and once again, the making out began.
And, once again, it was interrupted. It had gone on a little longer and to be fair it was more lazy, sleepy kisses, not full on handsy making out, but still, Nico was comfortable and enjoying Percy time.
“Nico Di Angelo I swear I’m gonna set you on fire if you treat my campers like that ever again!” Leo marched up Nico’s stairs loudly and angrily. He was met by a sight he probably could have lived without. Nico Di Angelo curled up on Percy’s chest, peppering kisses over his face.
“Leo Valdez if you enter my cabin and interrupt my Percy time like that ever again I will raise the cesarean army on you, what do you want?” Nico was becoming genuinely angry and at this point, raising the cesarean army didn’t sound like too bad an idea.
“I heard you grilled one of my campers,” Leo said, crossing his arms.
“You’re all fire-proof, it doesn’t matter if I grill any of you, but you’re right, he came here, only minutes after Will requesting to steal my Percy during my Percy time, and during Percy’s well deserved break so give your campers something to do other than swim for another 30 minutes while I enjoy cuddling with my boyfriend,” Nico was glaring daggers into Leo’s eyes who huffed in annoyance but left the cabin hastily.
“You’re so cute when you’re angry,” Percy purred as he pet Nico’s hair.
“You’re so cute when you’re not overworked,” Nico countered turning back to Percy.
“Mm, that’s fair,” he agreed and placed a soft kiss on Nico’s lips.
“I know it is Gattino,” Nico stated fondly and leaned into Percy’s chest to get comfortable. He continue pressing kisses all over Percy’s neck, only for a knock to sound at the door, which Percy nearly laughed at. Nico growled and tightened his hold on Percy, then proceeded to shadow travel them to his room in the underworld. Percy laughed as they hit the silky sheets.
“Nico, we can’t just stay here,” Percy reasoned and Nico shook his head.
“We can, and we will until further notice, you’re resting, I’m kissing, and we’re both trying to enjoy ourselves but people keep interrupting, so this is me, preventing that.” He then summoned Ms. O’ Leary and stationed her at his door to chase any of his family members who may try to invade his room away.
“I love you...” Percy muttered softly and kissed Nico, which Nico smiled at.
“I love you too.” With that he collapsed onto Percy’s chest and continued pressing kisses to Percy’s neck, while letting himself and Percy slowly fall into a slumber.
This time they were awoken by Melinoe, one of Nico’s half sisters.
“Nicolai!” She shouted, causing him to jump out of his sleep.
“It is 11 pm you stupid boys, you two have missed dinner and the bonfire and the Harpies are out.” Nico sighed in defeat and looked down at his sleepy boyfriend, he realised he didn’t really feel guilty, Percy needed sleep, and if taking him to the underworld had brought it, so be it.
“Fine fine, we’ll go, sorry Meli!” Nico exclaimed and grabbed Percy. He quickly shadow travelled them to Nico’s cabin and they both burst out laughing before Percy gasped.
“Did she say 11!?” He asked terrified.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry Perce...” Nico mumbled, feeling awful for accidentally pulling Percy from all his responsibilities.
“Well, Neeks, it’s not your fault we fell asleep or that we kept getting interrupted, I don’t blame you, I just wish we would have remembered.” Percy muttered as he pulled Nico up to cuddle him.
“Mm, still sorry, I’ll leave you alone tomorrow,” Nico explained and curled up to Percy.
“You most certainly will not, we’re eating lunch together and you’ll be waiting in your cabin as always tomorrow when I have my break, and we’re gonna cuddle and kiss and enjoy our time, and I’m not gonna drop you to go watch kids swim at the lake. Then I’m gonna go back to my job and then we’re gonna sit down and eat dinner together then watch Disney movies together and then you’ll shadow travel me back to my cabin we’ll go to sleep and repeat the cycle,” Percy was very demanding with his list of the routine the two boys had been retaining for the past few months.
“Okay, sounds good to me,” Nico agreed, snuggling into his boyfriend’s chest.
“Everyone’s gonna be stressed out tomorrow since we weren’t here before lights out,” Percy pointed out and Nico hummed in agreement.
“You wanna go tell Chiron or Annabeth?” Nico asked and Percy hummed.
“We should probably tell Annie, Chiron’s probably with the herd.” He suggested and wrapped his arms around Nico’s shoulders so they could shadow travel. After a few seconds the demigods were in the Athena cabin next to Annabeth’s bunk.
“Annie?” Percy asked as he knelt down next to her. She stirred slightly, and her brows furrowed before her eyes slowly fluttered open. She immediately sat up and wrapped her arms around Percy’s neck in a desperate hug.
“You’re not allowed to just disappear!” She whisper-shouted as she shoved him away and pointed at Nico.
“And you aren’t either! Will was so stressed!” She was still whisper-shouting and Nico’s ears heated up in embarrassment.
“I- we didn’t mean to, I got angry because we kept on getting interrupted so the fourth time someone came knocking on my cabin door, I just got fed up and brought us to the Underworld, then we fell asleep and Melinoe woke us up at 11 and I’m sorry!” Nico was apologizing a lot. He cared about Annabeth and Grover’s opinions the most, those were Percy’s oldest and best friends, and he didn’t want them to hate him.
“It’s fine Nico, really, I understand wanting alone time, you just had all of us a bit spooked, and when Hazel found out from Leo that you were missing too she got really stressed out so Leo’s at Camp Jupiter with her and Frank and you should go let her know.
“Yeah, okay, Perce you coming with me? I feel like we’ll need to calm Leo’s nerves too.”Percy nodded hastily and took Nico’s hand, quickly leaving a peck on Annabeth’s forehead before Nico shadow travelled them to Camp Jupiter.
They landed in the living room of Jason And Reyna, and Hazel and Frank’s shared home. Percy placed a chaste kiss on Nico’s lips then started pulling him back towards Hazel and Frank’s room.
They let themselves in to find Hazel and Frank snuggling with Leo nestled between them. Nico approached the bed and lightly awoke Hazel.
“Haze?” He asked softly as she began to stir. She slowly rolled over, her eyes half lidded, before they brightened at the sight of Nico.
“Nico!” She jumped up to embrace him, also stirring Leo and Frank. Leo immediately also jumped up to hug Percy tightly. Frank just rose slowly to look at his lovers adoringly. Nico enjoyed pretending to be protective of Hazel, but her boyfriends were both so good there was really no reason to try and be protective. He trusted them.
“Don’t go disappearing like that!” Hazel exclaimed and swatted Nico’s chest.
“I’m sorry! We fell asleep at the palace!” Hazel narrowed her eyes.
“What were you doing in the underworld in the first place?” She asked annoyed. Nico huffed and rolled his eyes.
“Well, if we hadn’t been rudely interrupted by Will, then some random Hephaestus kid, then Leo, then someone else, I wouldn’t have been annoyed enough to even leave camp, but if I’m trying to enjoy my time with Percy, I want to do it without interruption so whatever!” Percy laughed because Nico was already very defensive of the subject.
“So that’s why Beckendorf couldn’t get to you guys!” Leo exclaimed and Nico rolled his eyes.
“Yes Leo, THATS why Beckendorf couldn’t get to me, because I was trying to enjoy my cherished time with Percy the same way you guys try to enjoy your time with eachother,” Leo looked down guiltily. Hazel was able to summon a Hell Hound whenever she wanted, so she could come see Leo whenever she wanted, on top of that, they were all out to the camp as Poly and in a relationship. But Percy and Nico were only out to their closest friends so it wasn’t like Nico could just go up to Percy and kiss him between their shifts or duties, they had to plan time to be together.
“Sorry...” Leo muttered and Nico huffed.
“Don’t apologize, guilt doesn’t look good on you, and I don’t really particularly mind because that was the least stressful I’ve woken up before, so hush,” Nico was being very persistent about no one feeling bad and then he was reminded that Will was one of his bestfriends, a total mother hen, and was probably worried sick. Nico groaned and fell back onto the couch in the trio’s room.
“Neeks?” Percy asked as he watched his boyfriend collapse.
“Will’s probably at Camp Halfblood having a fucking panic attack because I disappeared!” He sighed, then looked lovingly at Percy, then glanced at the others and slowly stood.
“What’s up Nico?” Hazel asked as he came and sat down again.
“You guys are all so good! Gods! Why can’t you just hate me for being annoying! For avoiding you! For grilling you! Why can’t you just resent me! If everyone hated me, peopling would be some much less stressful!” Percy laughed and scooped Nico up off the bed and placed a chaste kiss on his lips.
“Neeks, that’s what friends are all about, being worried when you aren’t where you’re supposed to be, because we love you,” Percy nuzzled Nico’s hair and the shorter demigod only huffed.
“You two are disgustingly cute,” Leo pointed out from where he was laying against Frank with the larger man’s arms around his waist. Nico rolled his eyes and glared at the son of Hephaestus.
“Oh yeah, any chance I get,” Percy confirmed easily, which made Hazel laugh then look at her brother.
“You can go,” she said, then grabbed Nico’s hand, “check in with Will, make sure the poor boy isn’t having a panic attack, then I cannot let you do anything further, you must go to sleep, no matter how good you’ve gotten at shadow traveling, doing so at great distances is not good for your health, and you will immediately shadow travel back to your own cabin, with Percy, and sleep.” Hazel was very serious about Nico’s health, maybe not as much as Will, but still serious.
“Okay, I’ve got it, love you Haze,” He hugged his sister, let Percy hug Leo, then waved them all goodbye and they were off. After a bit, they landed in Will’s cabin and once they were both stable, Nico gave up and just leaned into Percy, Hazel was right, shadow traveling between realms and across countries was really draining. Percy rubbed his back comfortingly and turned to Will’s bed, only to find it empty. He sighed and looked at Nico, who staring seriously at the bed. He sighed as well, and hugged Percy around the middle to travel the couple of meters to the Hephaestus Cabin, where no doubt Will would be.
Which of course, they were right, Will was sleeping with Jake in the Hephaestus kid’s bed, curled up to his boyfriend happily. Nico laughed at his friend but still leaned into Percy, feeling absolutely drained to the max.
“Will?” Nico whispered softly, slowly stirring Will from his sleep.
“Nico!” Will whisper shouted as he pulled the son of Hades away from his boyfriend and into a hug.
“Why do you look so tired? Have you two been fighting monsters?” Will sat up fully and pushed Nico down next to him.
“No Will!” Nico shoved Will’s worrying hands away and leaned toward Percy.
“Nico’s been shadow traveling a lot...” Percy explained and Will’s eyes narrowed.
“Really Coco?” He asked and Nico glared angrily at the stupid nickname.
“Will, really, I’m fine, I’m just tired,” he sighed loudly and made grabby hands at Percy. As much as being small sucked, having a tall boyfriend meant that he could be easily lifted up.
“Nico got a bit annoyed after four interruptions and shadow travelled us to his room in the underworld,” Percy was rubbing Nico’s back lovingly, “then we came back and I panicked and he brought us to Annie, only for her to recommend we went to see Hazel, and we did and Nico realised you’d be worried sick so we came back then you weren’t in your cabin and now we’re here.” Percy kissed the top of Nico’s head and the son of Hades sighed dreamily, leaning into his boyfriends touch like it was a life line. Will let his gaze soften at his bestfriends happiness. Nico deserves what he wanted, and Percy had been what he wanted for years.
“Well, I, as the head doctor, prescribe a good nights rest, and a full day of Percy cuddles. I’ll make up an excuse for you two, and I’ll let the others know, just stay in tomorrow, cuddle up, watch some movies, love you Neeks,” Will kisses Nico’s forehead and pushed him all the way into Percy who laughed.
“How about we get Mrs. O’Leary?” He asked and Nico nodded wildly quickly summoning the Hell Hound then giving Will a kiss on the cheek good bye and rushing out of there as fast as he could. Mrs. O’Leary brought them to Nico’s cabin Percy easily carried Nico to the half-Hades’ bed. They collapsed into it and Percy curled around Nico while Mrs. O’Leary climbed up and curled around the both of them.
——————————————————————————
Nico awoke feeling completely recharged at around noon the next day, Percy was gone, but Mrs. O’Leary was still curled around Nico, and he sighed in bliss.
“Percy?” He called, and was answered by his cabin door opening. He sat up against Mrs. O’Leary subconciously leaning into her and also covering her.
“Coco?” He heard Will call and Nico let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. In walked Will with a tray of what looked like blue cookies and a glass of pomegranate juice. Of course, his favorite juice and something personally made by Percy.
“Hey Will-I-Am,” Nico greeted, then yawned, “where’s my Sea Prince?” He asked after a few seconds and Will laughed while he set down the tray on Nico’s bedside table.
“He’s at his mom’s house, says he’s got a surprise for you there, but he should be back soon, don’t worry,” Will explained as he handed Nico the plate of cookies and the glass. Then he picked up the rag and dunked it in what looked like cold water then set it to the side. Nico looked at him wearily as he ate his cookies. Will tended to be a little overbearing luv caring at times, like acting as if exhaustion was a fever.
“Will!” Nico whined as Will pulled a thermometer out of his pocket.
“Nicolai!” Will swatted at Nico’s hands and stuffed the thermometer in his mouth.
“You will sit here and accept my mother henning because you hopped twice between realms and twice across the country and you will now accept my making sure you’re okay because exhaustion can result in fevers and sickness.” Nico sighed and laid back, letting Will dab his forehead with the wet cloth then when the thermometer beeped he pulled it out of Nico’s mouth and set it to the side.
“You’re temperature is normal,” he stated then under his breath, “for a child of Hades,” then back to normal volume, “and you may continue as I planned with a day of cuddles and relaxation. I said that you two got into a mess with Melinoe and Makaria, so you had to go to the underworld and now you’re both allowed to rest for the day,” Nico smiled at his friend as Will leaned in to press a kiss to Nico’s forehead.
“Thanks Will,” Nico said regrettably.
“Aw, any time Neeks, I love you, you’re my best friend, it’s what you deserve,” then Will stood and left while Nico fell back into his Hell Hound and turned to bury his face in her fur. He let her warmth consume him and brighten his mood even further as he slowly finished his cookies and pomegranate juice.
“Nico?” Percy called and Mrs. O’Leary lifted her head in excitement, jostling Nico.
“I’m here Percy!” Nico called back and as Percy emerged from the stairs Nico saw a broad smile on his lips.
“Okay, sorry I wasn’t here when you woke up, I have you something,” Percy held up a bag that Nico recognized from that time Annabeth and Katie had forced them to take one of the Arts and Crafts classes and they made bags with eachother. They actually enjoyed seeing and had made a few more bags together since, but this one was the first they’d made together. It was a view of the ocean against an extremely starry sky.
Nico was pulled from his thought by the smell of distinctive Italian food. His mother’s. Tears sprang to his eyes as he looked lovingly at Percy.
“Nico!?” Percy called concerned as he rushed to the bed faster, dropping the bag on the night stand and landed on the bed pulling Nico into a tight hug.
“You are the most amazing incredible awful human being I’ve ever met,” He muttered while laugh-crying into Percy’s chest. That caused Percy to let out a relieved huff of a laugh.
“Why?” He asked.
“Because you perfect boyfriend went all the way to your mom’s apartment so you could make my mom’s lasagna recipe with her.” Percy’s eyes widened and he nodded quickly.
“Of course Neeks, you were so tired last night I thought you deserved a treat, and you talk about your mom and grandma’s cooking so often I thought...” Nico knocked the air out of Percy as he tackled him into the bed and hugged him tightly while pressing a kiss to his lips. He felt Percy smile into the kiss as he wrapped his arms around Nico’s waist
“You, Perseus Jackson, are the best thing that has ever walked into my life.” He muttered against Percy’s lips causing a bright blush to rush to Percy’s cheeks.
“You, Nico Di Angelo, deserve the best,” he answered. And Nico smiled as he sat up, straddling Percy’s waist. He grabbed the bag of food and pulled it into his lap as Percy sat up as well, keeping Nico on his lap. Nico pulled out four tupperwares and a bottle of sparkling white grape juice. He smiled at the bottle then looked at Percy with an amusing smirk.
“We better be careful, if Mr. D find outs we have a bottle of “non-alcoholic wine” he’ll throw a hissy fit.” He joked and Percy smiled, pulling out two wine glasses.
“Well, it’s a good thing people have decided to leave us alone then.” He agreed and settled to pour them both a glass of juice.
