hdl/webby and weblena are different in regards to family relations, which is why ppl dont like hdl/webby but are fine w/ weblena

Found families arent like blood family or legal family. It's based on whether you consider someone to be family or not, not who someone else considers to be family. This distinction is rly important when it comes to characters like scrooge, who have a tendency to kind of adopt ppl into his family. For example, him and Donald are related, and he considers Launchpad family. That doesnt mean donald/launchpad is incest, because Donald and Launchpad dont consider themselves family.

That's the difference between weblena and hdl/webby.

Scrooge is related to the triplets, and considers webby and beakley as family. Webby also thinks of the triplets as family, literally calls them such in the shadow war and has been called "the fourth triplet" multiple times by Frank. that's why ppl are weirded out by hdl/webby, because they're family in every way but blood.

On the other hand with weblena, scrooge considers both lena and webby family. However, they dont consider each other sisters. Theres no indication of them being like family, only friends. I imagine if beakley legally adopted lena, than most people would abandon the ship. But, as of now, they are only friends so shipping them isnt weird.

Sidenote: as someone with a lot of sisters, I have never talked about them the way webby talks about lena. I dont call them beautiful or angels or talk about them "sneaking into my heart."

tl;dr: webby and the triplets are family, lena and webby arent, which is why ppl are cool with weblena but not with webby/hdl

My thoughts are exactly as the anon said and your reasoning follows mine too. So far, I kind of want her to stay independent. I'd like her to change herself for her and not have a relationship/romance be the reasoning. I'd prefer that, but then again, in the OG, Gandra was Fenton's gf.

Is it weird that I don't really like Gandra? Like she's cool and I can see why other people like her I just don't personally don't vibe with her. Plus I don't really ship her with Fenton, I'm pretty sure their going to be endgame but I see them more are like frienemies. Like they care for each other but they aren't really in the same side. Sorta like Doffinzmirts and Perry the platypus!

Before Gandra stans come after me this is all my opinion, and if you wanna argue take it up in a reblog not my ask box

Okay so first impressions of characters I go off the vibe they give me. If they give me an icky vibe I put them on a ‘maybe I’ll like them later’ list. Gandra got put on the list imediately.

When she started flirting w Fenton... as a Fenro shipper I was automatically thinking ‘bad vibes and crashing into my ship?’. Nothing wrong with this happening, obviously, but with the bad vibes I already got I didn’t trust her being around my baby. She was clearly not interested in him, and I could tell from the start she just wanted something from him. *smacks Gandra with a red flag* stop that! If you actually liked him that much you wouldn’t have helped Beaks! “But she needed funding or whatever” okay then she could’ve said no to Beaks and found it somewhere else... maybe.. idk.. the money bin? Where said crush also works? “Maybe it would be hard to get hired by Gyro or Scrooge!” you cry, hugging your dear Gandra. Well Fenton got a job there, and he literally thinks hot water is tea... it can’t be that hard, kiddo.

Then! Then she seemed perfectly fine letting Beaks kidnap children. Children Fenton was obviously close with. Onto Beaks tho for a sec, bc he’s actually the worst and anyone who associates with him on friendly terms is garbage. Gandras morals are super unclear, and I can’t tell if she’s a villain or just misunderstood or smth. She seemed ok with the stealing, kidnapping, destruction of property/trespassing (beaks) and leading Fenton on, but then turns around and is like ‘aha ur cute tho’... she literally works for FOWL too??? So she’s definitely written as a villain, like all the other FOWL people.

It’s just difficult to tell what her morals are, and she seems like a bad person. If she really needed the funding despite working for FOWL, she could’ve gotten it other places. She knew what she was doing and that it was morally bad, but she still did it. Fenton is literally a sweetheart and doesnt deserve to be led on like that and then squashed, just for her to come back in s3 and do it again.

I’m not saying Fenro is 110% perfect because it absolutely is not. There’s a power unbalance, Gyro is frankly an ass most of the time, and he yells at Fenton more than is okay. But at least he’s trying to get better now that Boyd is back in his life. You can tell Gyro was a good person before Tokyolk because we got his backstory, and we know Akita and the 2-BO incident ruined him and made him defensive and sour.

I can almost garuntee that if you give me a good reason that Gandra is the way she is and is morally gray (leaning more dark tho, don’t @ me) and give me back story, I might start actually actively shipping Fendra and being okay with it. Until then, I’ll wait in the corner with my Fenro :)

But yes, they do seem like they’d be more of a Doof/Perry relationship. I can’t see them as romantic.

louie: transmasc louie is my biggest hc here! i like to think his ideas about gender are just kinda whatever, he knows he likes he/him and thats good enough for him

Thoughts on ships Debbigail, Huelet, Loubby, Weblena, Scroldie, Louna, Donsy (Ducktales version), Dellpad, and Dellumbra?

Ill go one by one for this one and keep it as short as possible (with the exception of 2)

Huelet- I find them very cute, Huey being the more emotional/passionate one to balance out Violet who's more calm and collective. They both will strive to find the answers to their questions no matter what.

Weblena- cmon guys, their first meeting? You can't tell me that wasn't webby having a big ol gay crush on the punk girl. Lena is also very protective, I can see that being needed to make sure Webby doesn't jump at every opportunity of danger. But if she does, Lena would be right there with her.

Scroldie- Ah yes, old people romance. I'm not as passionate for it as some of my other ships bc I am not super happy about the whole Goldie leaving Scrooge in the glacier. I wish they had a bit more of the comics origin but I over all prefer this version of the two than others.

Louna- I've seen a few art pieces for them that were kinda cute. I don't really ship them just cuz they haven't interacted as much but I can see how people ship them. Both con artists at heart.

Donsy- oh man guys, I absolutely love this version of these two! I can't wait to see more! I think what helps this ship is that Donald's character became much more like the original comics with the dash of him being more parental/responsible. Which softens him up a lot. Daisy also being portrayed as quick tempered but caring to a fault is wonderful as well. She might not be so modest, but that's what I like about her! She knows she's good! And so does Donald! And she knows he's good too! Just- AAAA!

Delpad- Baha another sort of Enemies to lovers trope. I think LPs genuine kindness can go a long way for Della. I'd love to see a story in which Cornelius coot gets rewritten and Della has to talk out more of her fears/insecurities regarding the moon/her kids. LP knowing a lot about what she needs due to experience and emotional knowledge. Della in turn could help him with his own feelings of self worth as well. I personally see them more as friends tho.

Dellumbra- You had me at Sapphic enemies to lovers. Just all there interactions thus far have been so good! All the little ups and downs. Della being so high energy and willing to do anything while also being just the biggest dork is so great! Penny being equal parts gritty soldier but also having the charisma of a rock is very funny to me. They are the embodiment of teasing/mutual pining i crave. Just so good!

Debbigail and Loubby- neither of these ships are my cup of tea due to the nature of the relationship the triplets have with Webby. To me they always felt like siblings, if you look at some of my popular posts, half of them are from HDLW sibling week. I won't claim that the showrunners explicitly state that they want them to be seen as siblings, as far as Frank is concern the show isn't about kid romances. If you like them, thats fine because obviously you don't see them as siblings. But just no it's very much something I don't want to talk about.
