Faye

First impression: Before Echoes had been released there was just her artwork and just thought she was really cute! Then people started translating the dialogue from the Japanese release and went "Oh. Oh no."

Impression now: Well I'm working on a week about her, that's indication enough of what I think nowadays about her😂 Bonus rambles here! It's really funny how in general I tend to bond to characters who have been done dirty by either canon, the fandom, or both. I guess it says something about myself?

Favorite moment: Her reunion with Celica if she visits Ram Village in Act 2 and didn't recruit Faye with Alm! It's an incredibly sweet moment because even despite Faye being jealous of Celica, she's overjoyed at seeing her again and immediately asks her if she can join her party. And since Celica gets passive bonuses from Faye, we know the feeling is mutual!

Idea for a story: This is really silly and self-indulgent but I would love a Magical Girl AU with her as the protagonist😂

Unpopular opinion: Besides the obvious "I love her", I'd say that I actually think the intial premise of a character who's so obsessed with somebody it starts becoming genuinely harmful to both herself and the people around her without falling into yandere territory is great! (Especially as a deconstruction of the Catria archetype that had become downright saturated by this point) My actual beef is that the writers never address it, deconstruct it or heck, do anything meaningful with her, never giving her the chance to develop, being fleshed out or improve as a person. Unsuprisingly, I hate her endcard with a passion and pretend it's not a thing.

Favorite relationship: Celica, of course! Rinea comes close second because of this. For platonic relationships, I'd say Silque (after the initial awkwardness) and Genny, but lately I'm really digging her genuinely becoming friends with Alm after he rejects her. It's kinda weird without explaining it, but I think it works!

Favorite headcanon: I'd say it's that the events of the prologue really traumatized her because it's what makes the rest of her characterization (fanon or not) tick. For a more fluffy headcanon, that she's the one who taught Celica how to make flower crowns!🌸

Lilith

First impression: It was back when I was still in the FE subreddit ew and the "Fates bad" circlejerk was stronger than ever, so unsuprisingly it was just joking about how she exist just for cheap drama deaths in two routes and gets completely forgotten in the best one despite being the main villain's daughter, so like everyone else I pretty much just treated her like a joke.

Impression now: Well I still believe the game undeniably treated her like shit, honestly even worse than Rinea in my opinion. She never gets to have anything nice (not even a birthday or battle animations), the only time she has the spotlight is in a DLC that's completely ignored in the base game or when she dies for cheap drama and it's a massive shame because there's just so much she can offer! She's Anankos' daughter and Corrin's only biological sister, she knows more about what's going on in Valla than even Azura when you think about it, and even as a character there's just so much that can be explored about her, between her daddy issues, her self-worth being rock bottom (hell considering how eager she is to sacrifice her life she might even be suicidal), her relationship with Corrin and their family and her wanting to belong with them but also feeling that she can't (otherwise she'll get Valla'd among other things) or that she doesn't deserve it and the guilt at having to keep the truth hidden from them. Also, I swear that whole deal with the Astral Dragon Moro (remember them? Me neither) is a remnant of Fates' earlier draft because it just screams cut content for me.

Favorite moment: The ending of Hidden Truths because it's the only moment the writers bother to explore her at least a little. Sadly, you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find good canon moments about her. (She has more lines in Heroes for fuck's sake)

Idea for a story: Honestly? Just her talking in the castle and see how she interacts with the rest of the group would be great to see! Also imagine the reunion with the Awakening Trio, that would be really hilarious and I have to write it someday😂

Unpopular opinion: Well, I guess really wanting to like her and thinking there's a lot she can offer is unpopular on its own...

Favorite relationship: Corrin's pretty much the only one she interacts with in canon, but at the same time I really like them! There's also the potential of exploring their relationship before and after the reveal, and I always wondered how they'd interact as siblings! Azura would also be really interesting, given they're both similar when you think about it, both of them coming from Valla, having a lot to hide and dealing with it in different ways and also... I wonder how she'd react if she learned she was Anankos' daughter. Also I really love the idea of her becoming Kana's aunt and guardian in Fates Intertwined because that would be really sweet :3

Favorite headcanon: Well there's the one I have about her being the only way to go back and forth from the Astral Castle meaning her death is actually a huge blow to the army because it means they can't go back to their safe haven anymore (also there's a good chunk of people trapped in the castle so yikes) because it makes her have a crucial role that no one can take away from her, but also the fact that her main talent is magic (being able to wield tomes, staves and her dragonstone) and she can use water spells! Oh, and that she eventually gets a dragonstone of her own so she can return to her human form. (that, when you think about it, it's also the one she lived as for most of her life)

qb’s 2020 Anime List

[Representation of making my brain recall anything from last year]

As usual, these are ordered by whatever arbitrary mood I was in when I constructed the list. Do not cross reference this ordering with any other evaluations I may have done.

0. kiratto prichan but only after it lost all pretense of being grounded in reality

I don't want to explain why I watch this anime, but I will do it for the fans. It's the franchise people, by all rights, should make fun of me for watching instead of Precure, which is harmless; the Pretty Rhythm series is ill-advised subculture shitpost brainrot which has at least halved my IQ. PriChan had been very boring for at least a year since its premiere, but during 2020 went off the deep end in way that rekindled the unique flavor the decade-long series has traditionally had of doing the most dumbass thing every week and not letting any sort of television authority or good ideas stop it. I had fun every week once it got in the groove and remembered its roots as a dumbass crossover franchise with nothing to prove and nothing holding its stupid, fantastic ideas back. It’s always the most insane thing on TV and it never even has to try.

Also following the twitter cult that formed around a rare plushie from this show with a wide face. That was the most entertaining thing of 2020 for me.

1. Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!

Creatively inspiring in a year without many sources of creative inspiration, the airing of this anime mirrored my unwilling dive into learning too much about anime production than I ever meant to. Eizouken takes the sketchbook ideas of the manga and fully realizes its world into animation in a way that only Masaki Yuasa and Science Saru could pull off, while simultaneously giving rising stars in the industry their first chance at directing episodes. It's a very satisfying show to watch and if there's anything on this list that inspired me to finally just slam words on paper and get this out it was thanks to watching Eizouken at some point in my life.

The season is split into three distinct “projects” and each of these end in a such a strong climax that I have to recommend watching it 4 episodes at a time, if you are able to. Here’s an endcard by tkmiz

2. Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden

3. DECA-DENCE

I like a nice contained science fiction and this one's episode 2 hook was so shocking that I was glued to my screen until the very end. It’s not perfect, but it’s about as perfect as you could reasonably expect to get from the year 2020. The less you know going in the better so I’ll shut up but it’s a much more ambitious sci-fi than you think it is at first. It might have been a had-to-be-there serial experience, so it could be impossible to really get the hype that was around this show at the time, but I think there’s enough there to stand on its own, and just having a definitive, satisfying ending in one season is an anime rarity worth recommending by itself.

4. Toilet-bound Hanako-kun

I love looking at pictures of cryptids and Lerche paneling and this gave me both in abundance. It rides the line between telling Shonen and Shoujo stories, like many Seinen that defy easy categorization do, and I’ve always been a sucker for that. Along with the anime being drop dead gorgeous on a weekly basis, I enjoyed the lovable cast of various SUPERNATURAL DANGER BOYS and also Yashiro who provides the funniest faces and widest ankles of the whole show, despite stiff competition.

5. Talentless Nana

Came outta nowhere and exceeded expectations for a frankly kind of mediocre thriller manga by absolutely nailing the strong first episode/chapter hook, then continuing to nail it every week with smart directing. I’m obligated to pay attention to this team in the future if they're capable of making something this compelling on a limited drawing budget. (the core staff were all Heybot regulars, which either means something or doesn’t)

6. Extra Olympia Kyklos

The one-person studio that made this did not have a high bar to clear to be the best Olympic tie-in anime (the only other one I can recall is the rare media Eagle Sam which sucks complete ass) but despite the Olympics not even happening in 2020, it soldiered on, and was easily the most I laughed at anime in that year. Kyklos takes serious source material and just spices it up beyond recognition with bizarre jokes, perfect timing, and hilariously cheap original music videos at the end of every episode that wouldn’t be out of place on adult swim bumpers. Overall it’s very surprising that this was funded at all once anyone saw what it was, but I’m so glad the creator got away with it. In a way, it’s the perfect monument to this psychotic year.

7. Kakushigoto

I just think the author is funny and this is a good anime adaptation that outpaces the original, by the author's own admission/intention. 61-sensei is the best girl

Ah fuck this endcard gonna make me cry.

So Healin’ Good Precure episode 45 closed out the series, and fuck does it feel bittersweet ending my first Precure. I miss these girls, I want to keep watching them forever. But it’s a nice ending and now I’m going to get to see a new cast of girls to fall in love with. Wild. As a final this honestly was a lot weaker than last week’s episode - nothing about the Healing Garden is interesting enough to warrant spending time here and we basically just use it to reiterate on the themes and tell kids more directly “hey humans fuckin pollute shit, fight back” but hey whatever. Summer’s introduction within the actual episode was entirely unnecessary but I sorta popped off anyway. Uh, yeah. Tbh show should’ve ended last week.

Anyway though I loved Healin’ Good a lot and I’m gonna give it a 7/10 because yeah.

Reacting to Destiel Pictures

Continuing like normal after everything that had happened. Dean has invited his husband, Cas, again to make a video in which take some time to react to picture of themselves throughout the years

“I look like a rat, Dean.” Castiel deadpanned.

“No, you were the cutest ever!” Dean replied.

Cas pouted: “You only say that, because you love me.”

Dean gave him a quick peck and said: “That doesn’t make it less true, angel.”

Then the intro rolled, it was a drawn impala that came down the road, it stopped in the middle of the screen and the drawn Dean gave a wink to the viewers, then he sped off again and the smoke was bridge back to the video.

Hi, Hunters! Welcome back.” Dean smiled, “Today I am with my husband, Castiel, and we’re reacting to old pictures of us.”

“Hello, everyone.” Cas greeted everyone.

“Disclaimer.” Dean said, “For anyone confused about the last time we had Cas on the channel. He did not murder me or brainwash me.”

Castiel nodded, but he did stare into the camera for a moment and Dean had used the moment to edit in a light blue glowing gleam in them. Just because he could and it was fun, he liked feeding the fire.

“Are you ready?” Dean asked, moving on. Cas nodded, then Dean turned to the audience and explained: “We have a laptop here where we are watching the photos, but I will display them on the screen here. Sam picked these images, so we both have no idea what is coming.”

The first image came up, it was from their first year at college. Castiel was sitting behind a desk, thick book in front of him. He had a small familiar frown on his face as he tried to concentrate on the text. Next to him was Dean, he also had a book in front of him, but he was looking into the camera and sticking out his tongue.

Both smiled at the image and Dean lovingly said: “Ahw, you were always a little nerd, weren’t ya.”

Cas rolled his eyes with a fond smile and said: “If I remember correctly, you did quite good in school as well.”

“Yeah,” Dean rubbed the back of his head with a blush and shrugged, “what a stable home life can do for you, you know.”

He clicked through to the next picture. This one was a bit older still at college, but they hadn’t confessed yet, despite both being in love. Dean commented that and noted: “How did we not see how smitten we were?”

Cas laughed: “I don’t know.”

In the picture they were both standing in front of a monument of some sort. Dean had slung his arm over Castiels shoulder and had pulled him close. They weren’t even looking into the camera, lost in each others eyes.

Dean told the camera: “This was after our second year at college. We took a trip with Sammy for the summer. He took this pic of us.”

“That was nice, we went to the beach. You taught me how to swim remember.” Cas said.

Dean smiled at the memory. “Yeah,” he said, “you were very cute. I think I used a picture of that in my fake documentary of you. The ones with the bee sunglasses?”

“Oh, yeah I remember that one.” Castiel laughed.

They went on to the next picture. This was from their graduation, they were both wearing the stupid robes. Cas was hugging Dean from behind, resting his head on Deans shoulder as he looked into the camera with a smile. Dean held the arm that was slung across his chest with two hands and also grinned in the camera.

Cas said: “We had been together for three weeks in this picture.”

“Ahw, look at that baby face.” Dean said, “So young and besotted.”

“You still are.” Cas ribbed him.

Dean just melted and agreed: “Yeah, I am.”

He gave Cas a quick kiss, before moving on to the next picture. That one was of their one year anniversary. They’d climbed a mountain together and asked a stranger on top of it to take a picture of them. Cas was on Deans back, his head resting on Deans head. Both were sweating, but they had smiles that took over their entire faces.

“This was our one year.” Dean explained, “We climbed a mountain. I was so tired when we reached the top.”

Cas nodded: “It’s a miracle we stayed up long enough for the picture.”

“Yeah.” Dean laughed, “I had to sit for like an hour, before we could head back down.”

He clicked to the following photo. It was a selfie he had taken to sent to Sam to explain why he couldn’t come to diner that night. He had completely forgotten about it, but it seemed Sam still had it. Dean smiled apologetically in the picture, while an obviously sick Cas was in the background.

Castiel immediately deadpanned: “I look like a rat, Dean.”

“No, you were the cutest ever!” Dean replied.

Cas pouted: “You only say that, because you love me.

Dean gave him a quick peck and said: “That doesn’t make it less true, angel. You are the cutest ever. I remember you wanted to cuddle the entire time, it was so sweet.”

Cas looked guilty and said: “I remember, you got sick the week after.”

Dean ruffled his hair and reassured him by saying: “And you cared for me, very sweetly. You even asked Ellen to make that soup I like.”

They moved on to the next one. It was one of Dean sleeping in the backseat of the Impala, over him lay a familiar trench coat. Dean asked: “Where does this photo come from?”

“I took it, when we were making that road trip.” Castiel answered, “I sent it to Sam, since he had asked how the trip was going. I believe I captured it ‘Going to wake up the angry bear’”

Dean pouted: “I’m not that grumpy in mornings.”

Cas smiled, but didn’t say anything. Dean looked offended, but his reaction was cut out.

The next picture was the same one they had framed above their bed. It was taken at their wedding. Dean was holding Cas in a bridal-carry, both grinning like idiots.

Both couldn’t help the same stupid grin that took over their faces. Dean said: “This was the best day of my life, I think. Never regretted it, angel.”

Cas smiled at him, eyes filled with love and he quickly embraced Dean as he said: “Me neither. My Dean.”

They stayed like that for a moment, just looking at the picture. Then Dean softly said: “I’m so glad I found you, Cas. I can’t imagine my life without you… or Claire for that matter.”

The last part had been edited out, along with the deep and teary kiss the two shared after it.

When it cut the new picture was shown on screen. Cas was standing at the door, coat already on, bag in hand. He was about to leave, but his tie had been crooked, so Dean was fixing it for him. They both had a fond look in their eyes as they smiled softly. Claire had taken that picture a week ago and sent it to Sam, saying ‘Papa and Pops are being gross again’

Dean smiled and wondered out loud: “When did we get so domestic.”

“Probably around the time we bought a house together and fell into a routine.” Cas said, before realizing it was rhetorical, so he added: “I think it suits us.”

Dean thought about his tumultuous youth and nodded and agreed: “Yeah it does.”

Castiel looked at the picture again, then reached for the laptop. Dean asked: “What are you doing, sunshine?”

“I’m sending this to myself, so I can make it my background.” Castiel answered.

Then it cut to the endcard. Dean said: “That was it for today, hope you enjoyed it.”

“I did.” Castiel said.

Dean smiled at him then turned back to the viewers: “Cas here enjoyed it, so leave a like for Cas. If you don’t want to miss out, subscribe and ring that bell. If you wanna watch more amazing Cas content you can click here and you can click here for just me. Which is also fun and just as handsome, but maybe not what you want.”

“Assbutt.” Cas said with an eyeroll.

“Still not a real swearword, darling.” Dean told him, turning back to the audience he said: “Bye Hunters, see you on the road.”

Then the video ended

ok this is somewhat of a spoiler but goldie (girl who's spot got taken by kizumi)'s entire character gimmick is that she has horrendous luck. in season 1 she tried to audition but got horrible food poisoning and couldn't make it too. basically her greatest enemy is herself

3) Hmm... I'd say my favorite character is... Luna. She's abrasive, but she's very practical rather than just being mean for mean's sake, which I like. Like, I find it interesting that Luna's deciding to be Kizumi's friend even after she (allegedly) tried to screw her over, because Luna knows Kizumi can be helpful to her. 4) My guess as to how Yuna's story plays into Kizumi's story is that Yuna sees herself in Kizumi. Like, she sees the potential for Kizumi to go beyond like she did (which I'm guessing is why she was disappointed in Kizumi's team performance). As for what specifically caused that change... no idea. Could be something like "she sings from the heart", or perhaps a really rigorous singing practice regimen?

1) My favorite scene so far has probably been the group session where Kizumi enacts her plan to have everyone just skip solos. It was nice to see Kizumi and Luna work together, and I kind of liked that someone not Luna was the "villain" in that moment. It really spoke to the fact that no matter how nice all the girls might be, they're all also rivals. 2) I feel like Kizumi must have some past as a celebrity. Either through her parents, or maybe she had been a failed child star. Or maybe she was a baby in a diaper commercial. I kind of feel like this isn't her first time singing though, granted probably the first time singing for people on such a large scale. Which I think this must be how she knows Ritsu. Ritsu recognizes her for showbiz way back in the day.

3) My favorite character is probably Kizumi. I like her overly polite attitude, because I kind of relate to that in a lot of ways. That and I respect her attitude to just want everyone to get along. I also like that this is kind of a double-edged sword, where sure she can play peace keeper, but then she get walked all over and dragged into contests she didnt want to be a part of. So I just really like this cute and sweet aspect about her. 4) I feel like Yuna must have had some transcendental experience. Like maybe before she wasn't inspired and that although she tried her best, she didn't have the right motivation to win. And then she met a singer who really inspired her and who changed how she viewed singing in general. And instead of something that sounds nice, she strived to make her singing something that changed the hearts and minds of those around her. As for how this plays into Kizumi's story, given this mysterious Nagato figure, I assume that is who changed Yuna's life. The joke dark theory I have is a storyline ripoff from one of my fave mangas where the singer made herself sing better by tapping into sad emotions. Which she made herself sad by killing people close to her. So maybe that's what Yuna did.

I just honestly really love Yuna's outfit. I could look at that outfit all day. <3 6) I feel like Ritsu was happy go-lucky, maybe kind of like Kizumi, and then got super betrayed and super burned because showbiz is cut throat. And I also feel like she must have people around her who have put intense pressure that she has to succeed as an idol. So Ritsu feels trapped while also incapable of showing trust. So this makes her cyncical and mean because that is not a fun way to live. I feel like Ritsu's mind could be changed, but I think she either has to be convinced to trust again or convinced that showbiz is dumb and do things that make you happy. I feel like either is a challenge, but I do think Kizumi could help her since they have this mysterious past connection.

1. Favorite scene is definitely Kizumi making the plan proposal to Luna, and their meeting afterwards. It's one of the most intriguing personality bits we've seen of Kizumi, and it's cool to see that Luna isn't a cookie-cutter prissy rival. Kizumi is a nice girl but she's not just passive! I'm so interested in what Kizumi will bring to the table in the future! >:3 (alsoluna'soutfitsareallstylish) 2/4/6. I think Kizumi may be related to Nagato, the singer Yuna likes, whether he was a relative or maybe someone who she met up with randomly and joined during singing sessions. IDK, maybe in a park somewhere lol? There's no way she would just be a wildcard singer with no training or interest! Yuna was probably fibbing a little bit about seeing herself in Kizumi, she really made a connection between Kizumi and that singer even if it was just through her voice or style. Maybe Kizumi didn't want to be judged for being related to a celebrity. Or maybe... when she was a child she accidently did something in the past that prevented Nagato from continuing to sing. Depending on what it was it could possibly make people angry with her and she avoided a great opportunity for it. Is it really a coincidence her home is so near the filming site of this contest? :3c I think Ritsu knows about it from childhood bc showbiz and is angry at Kizumi for giving up on something she worked hard to get but was easily given to Kizumi, and maybe she knew Nagato too so thought that Kizumi wasted his efforts on her. Maybe she was involved secretly maybe accidentally and this contributes to her anxiety? Who knows.... but someone is definitely putting pressure on Ritsu maybe forcing her to stay in the biz.(edited)

3. My favorite character so far is Luna. She's kind of mean, but she's direct, confident and knows what she wants. Not to say she's not complex, but right now being straightforward makes her stand out from the cast. But my favorite design is definitely Yuna. I think I need to know more about everyone. 5. Probably the last panel of Ritsu in the group concert. Her pose is so powerful. It's so different from her backstage anxiety, makes me wonder about her! (I also love the endcard of Kizumi in a black dress and pink teddy jacket ) 7. It was short, but definitely Luna and Kizumi for the aforementioned reasons. They both have potential to be successful for different aspects and really compliment each other! Like Rain is nice too, but I feel like she doesn't have much going for her right now and it's also a reason she didn't have the presence to bring together her team. Marina is hilarious (I'm sorry for laughing at your suffering Marina but I can also relate to people not pulling weight on a big production T^T...) and I thought the scenes where she was reacting to Kizumi to be great, even if it's more as commentary than them interacting. 8. I think there will be lessons about taking what you're given and working with it to solve problems and move forward. You can only go so far without support, but you can't just go with the flow with others. You can already see the differences in the group elimination. I'm not really sure what the winner of Princess Pop gets, but maybe the girls will find something else out of their time on the show.

7) I enjoy seeing Kizumi and Luna interact the most. At first, I thought they were gonna have the typical bully/rival relationship. But then not only did Kizumi willingly say "Hey, let's work together," but then Luna through a curve ball saying, "Hey, let's be friends." Nothing about their relationship is typical for what their characters would normally be expected to do, so I like this aspect of figuring out exactly what their relationship is. 8) I feel the story shows us that there are two ways we can go about rivalry. We can use rivalry to drive us to a better place and use it as motivation to do better, in a respectful and friendly manner. Or, we can let rivalry and competition bring out the worst in us in the most self-absorbed way possible. Sadly, I think this comic is true to life in that we've seen a lot more of the worst than the best, and that when it comes to competition, we should probably prepare for the worst (and not think ourselves immune). I feel like the characters will are going to overcome the obstacle of having to hate your rival. But I think there's going to be lots and lots and lots of betrayals as characters have to pick between new friends theyve known a short time and their lifelong dreams.

9) I've really enjoyed the inclusion of bits from the last episodes in the new episodes at the very beginning. I know this is one of those things people will feel really mixed on, but I think in terms of not reading the comic in bulk, it's super helpful in the presentation. Sometimes people need a refresher if it's been a while, and the moments are pretty short so it doesn't hurt the bulk read all that much either. 10) As I theorized earlier, I think Nagato is someone who Yuna was moved by and influenced her own singing to the point she won the competition. I would say that maybe Kizumi is Nagato's reincarnation, but not sure that's the direction this story is going. Maybe Nagato is one of Kizumi's parents or something though. Also, yes. Yes this obsession will totally bias Yuna. We already saw it happen since she criticized for not being able to hear each singer individually. And I think the others will pick up on the fact she has a preference for Kizumi and get super mad at Kizumi for that. It's legit probably just gonna make Kizumi's life hell. ;_;

11. I think this comic's strengths are definitely in the character interactions -- like all good idol competition shows! I also think one of the most compelling things is the subversion of some of the expectations that you have going in. 12. I think Luna is both interested in Kizumi and in it for her own purposes-- I think she's genuinely curious and interested in Kizumi, but maybe thinks of it as more of a self centered move.

9. I think a plus point is that everyone has a really unique style that i think matches their personalities, even ahen wearing different clothes. I also like when the artist tries to do something fancier with panels for moments like showcasing Ritsu in the group song or for Yuna singing. 11. I think the comic's strength is where some of our expectations of characters are challenged, while keeping it light-hearted though. 12. I think its probably that she's genuinely interested! I mean Kizumi technically reached out first after all. But she'll probably be okay with some messing and around and manip, but not malicious. Its competition. And you know what they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer xD

11) I think this comic's strengths are how it kind of defies expectations. There are a lot of moments in the comic where you think the story is gonna go one way based on past story flows and general character types. But then it doesn't. Instead, it takes you to a new place, so each plot point is really interesting to explore since the outcome keeps you on your toes. 12) I think Luna sees Kizumi as useful. So instead of trying to oust Kizumi from the start, she's decided keeping Kizumi in the competition longer is more interesting and more beneficial in the long term. As for this longterm benefit, it's hard to say. Maybe Luna feels that Kizumi's lack of cutthroat passion to slay the competition at all competition makes her sort of a weak leak when it comes down to individual competitions. So Luna can essentially focus on getting rid of the opponents she feels are stronger first and then easily oust the weaker links, so to speak. As for Luna backstory, I feel she's the type of person who must of had parents who put constant pressure on her and told her winning was the only important thing. So Luna developed a personality that was highly geared towards being self-confident, snobby, and a little bit manipulative, since those are the things most likely that have helped her in the past to win.

13) I am actually looking forward to Kizumi coming to a head with her roommate (whose name escapes me atm). But either way, I feel the roomie is not as innocent as she pretends, and I want to see their relationship pushed as the competition gets more heated and they both come to accept they can't both win. 14) I don't think it'll be Kizumi. I feel like though the experience will inspire Kizumi to go on to have a singing career, I think ultimately it'll be someone else who wins. As for who, I'm torn cause I need more backstory. I think it's gonna depend on who reason for singing is simultaneously sad but filled with surprisingly innocent and sincere passion. I feel like the winners who wanted a singing career will get that. But I think a lot more of the girls will discover showbiz sucks and instead pursue other things that fulfill them more. Cause kind of how we see through Ritsu, showbiz looks glamorous from the outside, but is 100% not for everyone and constantly exposes you and make you vulnerable. And I think they'll also learn you don't have to have a professional singing career to sing for fun and spread music around, especially when the internet is all powerful.

It's gonna take me some time to answer questions, but I'm going to answer them out of order! Huzzah! 14. At the end of the day, who do you think will win the current season of Princess Pop? Will it be Kizumi or someone else? What do you think will become of the winners and losers? You know, I'm kind of hoping it's Luna? Ritsu might have the skill, but I think being showbiz is going to destroy her emotionally. Kizumi may make it to finals, but I feel like she might just step back at some point for someone else to win. Seems like her type, especially since she's only going forward with this because her dad suggested it might be a good idea. (Besides, what happened to the REST of Kizumi's life, anyway?)

3. At the moment, who is your favorite character? What about that character earns them this favor? My favorite character... I like Rain, honestly. She's so cheerful, and has such starry eyes... ...Literally, too. She's a cute. A shame it looks like she's going home. I wonder if we'll see her some more? Maybe on the outside, she'll exchange numbers or contact info to talk to Kizumi.

2. What do you think Kizumi’s secret is that she seems to be hiding? Why is she convinced it would change how others saw her? Additionally, how does Ritsu know the secret and why is Ritsu willing to keep it a secret? I kind of wish I knew what her secret is! I feel like the audience drama could be heightened by knowing what Kizumi's deal is, and seeing what the potential fallout for the other girls knowing that is. In any case -- I feel like maybe she and Ritsu met in school, but Rebel's suggestion of her being a model or celebrity in the past makes sense too. Maybe there was a singing competition for school or somesuch, and Kizumi did well there, but Ritsu understands the stress of being popular and saw how it ate Kizumi then, and will probably eat her again. Or maybe the secret's just as simple as "Well, you took goldie's place" and that's it. And everyone kiiiinda knows that, but...

Someone in her life died. ...I dunno. I don't think we have enough information at Yuna to really theorize, tbh. But I mean, clearly Yuna had something happen, and it made her want to change. So she did. It could just be realizing that the prize money coulda been used to help someone? Or having the career woulda been beneficial to meeting her goals? Who knows.

9. What sorts of art or story details have you noticed in the way the comic is crafted that you think deserves attention? THE DRESSES Gawsh, they're cute! Just... hhh. Yuna's dress during her special performance kind of inspired me so maybe something will come of that. Who knows.

Honestly, I can't see that going well in some regards, but hopefully they'll find a way to work it out since they're siblings.

I thought the topic for the comic looked interesting and I needed a break from doing report cards so I'm going to participate this week. O.o Will peek at questions before other answers.

1. The scene where Kizumi calls her dad stands out to me, I think because it helped to ground everything in a sense of reality. Having parents is a thing. Also amusing that he was a fan of the show.

2. Kizumi is secretly an android. ... Okay, no, but not sure aside from probably relates to her family. Ritsu knows her from way back, so that makes sense, and I think all of them would hold off on saying things they could use for blackmail. O.o

3. I'm leaning towards Rain. I like her mix of seriousness and goofiness. Also, nice entrance ducking down from the bunk above.

4. Yuna may have been like Kizumi in terms of just going along for the heck of it, until she realized she might have a shot - or possibly didn't want to see someone else win. So that could connect.

5. I kind of liked the Halloween costumes, am I allowed to pick that even though it wasn't canon? Though in general I like how the art flows down the page, a bit like how one's eye would when looking at someone singing. And there's some neat extra arts at the end sometimes.

6. Ritsu may have family issues, could also be why she wouldn't out Kizumi for family issues. She may feel like she has to suffer for her art.

7. I rather like the Kizumi/Yuna interactions. Feels like there's always something under the surface there. What with Kizumi feeling like not measuring up and Yuna kind of dancing around straight answers.

8. I feel like the plan of "flying under the radar" works well when there's multiple rivals, as we kind of saw, but that only works for so long. Not sure what else it will get into. I could see some of the more naive characters falling for ruses.

9. I guess I already mentioned the flowing down the page matching the tracking of an eye. I also think that some of the art reuse is well done, not simply as a quick recap to start, but callbacks to people singing, or in the dream sequence... that was clever. And some of the explanation font stuff (like 'applause') doesn't come across as weird or goofy.

Kabocha: Heh. You're not wrong. She only really seems to have opened up to Rain, and then only in part.

Yeah. I kind of wish Kizumi would come out more with what her deal is - it would save her a lot of drama! But on the other hand, this comic does give me a very shoujo-manga sort of feel, and those sorts of misunderstandings are a pretty staple trope in the genre :3 So it's not a bad thing, it'd just be interesting to see where it went, yanno?

11. Well, the topic seems to have drawn me in. And it seems to have a good sense of which characters to bring to the forefront out of what is theoretically an oversized cast. I'm not great at this sort of analysis. O.o

12. Oh, Luna definitely has ulterior motives, but I think for the moment the offer is genuine in that she sees Kizumi as being someone who would hold her own. And better to be friends with that sort of person than on their bad side. The ulterior motive being a belief that she could win if it came down to the two of them. Something like that - Luna seems to be a strategist too.

13. It'll be interesting to see how the field gets narrowed, as it is the writer managed to cut the field in fifths with one contest. Pity about Rain, I'm wondering how she's going to handle things. Also some of those helpers/employees in the background got full bios, I'm wondering when and how they'll pop up again.

Kabocha: Also good points there too. And yeah, though I like that there's not so much misunderstandings at this point as much as secrets.

Been reading through the other comments. Interesting idea about Ritsu having been burned in the past, I can see it. (It's interesting how she was set up as a rival and then Luna became an additional wild card.) I didn't mention Marina, and that's an oversight because she was a fun character.

Also, how could I NOT end by doing ships? With so many wonderful female characters? I mean, there's the obvious Kizumi-Rain, but I'm not sure I see that going beyond friendship. Kizumi-Yuna has potential. Ritsu seems like a bit too much of a lone wolf... whereas Reeni could pair with any of them, she's precious. Luna-Yuna I like for the name alone. (Lyuna?) But part of me likes Luna-Kat, having secret romantic walks in the morning.

13. I'm excited to learn more about Ritsu and Luna, and I hope some healing from Ritsu. They say that ppl are most critical of the flaws they have in themself, and for now she's still lashing out at Kizumi. Also to get to know the other contestants. I have no idea who the cannon fodder is right now and who will actually stay and make it to the end. For all I know Luna could get booted in the next round (noooo...). I think there are so many ways things could potentially go. And not to be shallow but more outfits for the gals, please!! Excited to see how things roll from here on out ^^ 14. We haven't met everyone yet, have we? So there's still others to consider. And I think that the other bickering characters haven't revealed their full potential yet. We don't even know the interns that well yet and what they have to put in. I mean there has to be a reason they have names I assume others will be getting their time to shine, so to speak. I just have this feeling the winner won't be Kizumi or Ritsu,,, but eh that's my gut. Who will win is one thing, I wonder who will actually continue their singing career. Maybe someone will get an image change (Ritsu? maybe she'll switch to a different style in the future). (Also Kizumi and Luna duet please at some point!). I think the real wildcard has yet to show up, kind of like how Yuna suddenly changed in the middle of the competition. This is one of the reasons why I'm so confused about what she sees in Kizumi (besides the whole Nagato thing and Kizumi possibly being his protegee). Could be Rain even. You know, like those shows that bring back the old contestants to raise the tension(edited)

Daiya no Ace Act II - Episode 2

It’s been about 2-ish hours since episode 2 became live on crunchyroll, I’ve showered, gotten ready for school, and actually made it to campus! Now let’s rewatch the episode, take some lovely screenshots and scream about how much I love this show.

As always - because of spoilers: everything’s under a read-more. But if I can just say one non-spoilery thing? The animation in this season is so crisp and clean it makes me very happy!

Essentially I can sum up this entire episode: fangirling over Furuya’s growth/talent. Plus other characters lol.

Seidou vs. Nihon Shono

Furuya of course starts off my cutting of the announcer talking about other talented pitchers with his own insane pitch! He looks really happy aww.

I’ve said this before, but I really like that Eijun and Satoru aren’t pitted against each other like enemies but rivals! It’s a lot healthier for high school students, and allows them to still be friends while growing in the competition! So the smile Eijun sends him is both lovely and also painful!

OP: lovely as usual and I just adore it!

The other thing is that while Furuya’s kind of overpowered, that’s all it is. He’s not perfect already so he still makes mistakes even while being a reliable ace! It’s exactly what’s expected of a 16 year old boy and not unreasonable! Even seidou as a team is starting to respect him more because he’s becoming more ace-like, which is just phenomenal!

Even if I’m definitely biased to Eijun, I’m really happy that Furuya is doing better and getting a lot stronger. AND AGAIN THE SUPPORT THEY SHOW EACH OTHER!

They’re speaking so much more to each other this episode, and I love that so much! It’s clear how much closer they got to each other after sharing the same training schedule.

Plus look at how much they smile at each other now my furusawa obsessed heart is in love. They really acknowledge each other so much!!!

Now I can’t wait for Haruichi to leave his brother’s shadow. We’re almost there! He’s gonna get such a glow-up soon lol

Miyuki gets a great hit, but then Furuya just absolutely blows everything out of the park! What a reliable ace :)

We also get to hear about how Furuya’s from Tomakomai? I mean I know he never actually plays at games in his middle school, but Hongo weirdly seems to know hims still??

I know this is just supposed to be about the episode, but can I say how happy I am to see more Nori this season? And to see how reliable as a closer he’s become?!?!

Also we get more miyunori interactions and that makes my little rare pair shipping heart very happy

Ochiai’s still a manipulative bastard - but he’s not actually wrong? They should get better at speaking to reporters...and Furuya is doing better. But I still don’t agree with his weird habit of focussing only on the best players rather then the players who are showing potential. It is koshien, but please, you need to at least pretend to be considerate of the other players like come on!

Seidou vs. Komadai Fujimaki (night before the game)

I’m sorry I’m more amazed that these kids in Hokkaido...played baseball...on a frozen/icy ground...WITHOUT EXTRA COATS OR ANYTHING?!?

I’m interested in seeing why Hongo seems to be pissed off with Furuya, even though according to Furuya he doesn’t know him personally???

Also...I can’t physically be more proud of Furuya with his answer for whether he would have still come to Seidou. And how the whole team rallied around him <3

Outside Practice

Ahhh I feel really bad for Eijun. I mean I can’t imagine coach is keeping him out simply cause he pitched badly once...but that desire to get better is so admirable!

Overall I thought the episode was great! I’m really excited for next week! The preview tells me its gonna be great! I hope Eijun gets to pitch again, and that Furuya can head on compete with Hongo!! Plus we could learn about Komadai more!!

dancing Gods

Writers note: Once again I was inspired by @awesome-yet-weird-weirdo who gave me some good prompts to work with. She comes up with some of the funnest prompts to write out I swear. I’m very thankful. I enjoyed writing this because I took my time for once. It’s not like I don’t want to take my time to write the best content I can, but I just get excited and often write fics in one night hehe. I hope you enjoy.

Summary: Uraraka and Bakugou finally have time to hang out together after an exhausting week of training and studying. Att the end of the week they decide to unwind in Uraraka’s room. When Uraraka asks if she can sleep over at Bakugou’s room that night, he declines. Instead of giving her a straight up answer he gives dull and vague answers. What’s up with him?

‘So why can’t I stay over tonight?’ Uraraka asked for what seemed to be the millionth time. ‘Because I said so.’ Bakugou answered also for the millionth time. Uraraka put her face in her hands and blowed air upwards towards her bangs which made them fly up. Bakugou was laying on her back reading a book whilst she was watching a series he couldn’t seem to get in to no matter how many times Uraraka told him to wait because “now it’s gonna get really good!”. It never did. Uraraka wiggled from side to side making Bakugou rock with her. ‘I really hate it when you say that.’ ‘I’m aware, giving the amount of times you’ve told me.’ Bakugou answered unbothered by the rocking. He simply held the book closer to his face and adjusted his glasses. When the rocking didn’t seem to help the attitude Bakugou was giving her she stopped. She tried concentrating on the series she loved so much, it was getting close tot he season finale and there was a lot going down. But she couldn’t help but look back at Bakugou laying on her lower back. His eyes slowly gliding over the words and lazily blinking every once in a while. With every glance Uraraka became more and more frustrated. It’s not like it’s the first time Uraraka has stayed the night in his room. The only times he declined a sleepover was when he was training ‘til late and he didn’t want her to wait up for him or when he’s planning to get ahead with his studying. Those declination’s atleast had a reasonable explanation. For some reason the only thing she was getting out of him were sassy remarks and smug replies. Which he did jokingly sometimes, just to get a particular reaction out of her. But now his words had a hint of sterness in them. ‘Your brow is doing that thing again.’ He mentioned out of the blue. He looked up from his book and met her eyes. ‘It’s kinda scary.’ He laughed. Uraraka huffed and turned back the tv. There isn’t a thing that boy didn’t notice, that’s whats’s scary! He could read her like a book but often chose not to act on his hunches. Which was very admirable she admitted. Her direct and caring nature sometimes didn’t seem to match up with her boyfriends personality and have led to anger and tension between them before. Carefully Uraraka felt her brow and massaged it, trying to make it relax a little. ‘Don’t you get all chummy with me now after giving me that attitude mister.’ Bakugou closed his book, set it aside with his glasses and turned on his stomach, ‘What do you mean?’ he sounded too serious, which threw her off. ‘Bakugou, stop that.’ Bakugou laid facedown and let his arms flail over her back. ‘Stop what?’ his words came out very muffled. Uraraka sighed and let her head hang. ‘I don’t know if you’ve been joking this whole time but stop acting so moody about me staying over.’ Uraraka really tried not to raise her voice but she already felt her voice getting louder than she intended it to be. Bakugou perked up looked at the back of her head. ‘I wasn’t joking and I’m not moody, I was serious ya know?’ That was not really what Uraraka expected to hear. She didn’t have an answer prepared for that and chose to just stay silent and stare at the ground. Bakugou crawled beside her and tilted his head. ‘Sorry roundface, next weekend, I promise.’ Uraraka continued to stay silent. Partially because she still didn’t know what to say and also because, well because of pure pettiness. She wasn’t getting was she looked forward to and expected to happen. Bakugou rolled his eyes and raised Uraraka’s chin. ‘I said I promise.’ He pretended sound annoyed. But he couldn’t help but break character and smile at her. And she couldn’t help but smile either. His smile was so damn contageous. It was also rare but luckily not to her. She sees him smile when he makes himself a snack, when he’s trying not to laugh at one of her corny jokes, when he gets to switch over from reading school books to comics. It made her happy he could finally let the corners of his mouth curl upwards and let the tough guy act he keeps on portraying in class go for atleast a few hours when they were together. ‘There we go.’ he said and he planted a kiss on her forehead. ‘So are we going to watch this show or what?’ he started blushing and looked up towards the ceiling, probably hoping that the blood in his cheeks would stop flowing to the surface. She giggled at him, somehow he’s still trying to keep up his tough guy act but he’s failing miserably. She took the remote and raised the volume of the tv. ‘We? Well, well, well! You sure know how to make things right don’tcha!’ Uraraka said. ‘It seems to be your lucky day Bakugou Katsuki because we’re only halfway through the marathon!’ Bakugou jerked. ‘Are you fucking serious Uraraka? Cut me some fucking slack will ya?!’ Uraraka started giggling more and more. ‘You’re the one who wanted to watch it together!’ Bakugou groaned and increased volume the longer the groan took. ‘Fine! The things I do for you sometimes, it’s not even fucking funny.’ Bakugou snatched his glasses from behind them and put them back on. They started watching the show quietly. Uraraka was quickly deeply immersed in the story again, trying to figure out if she missed something important and what might happen next. Bakugou couldn’t help but audibly cringe at the acting which they both agreed on was very debatable. But atleast he was watching with her. And Uraraka could notice he was actually into it during some scenes.

‘You know there’s only 10 minutes and one other episode left right?’

‘You said it was a whole damn marathon!’ Bakugou yelled. Uraraka bursted out with laughter, she rolled over on her back and held her stomach. ‘Don’t a-act like yo-you weren’t into i-i-it for some moments!’ she hiccuped. ‘Geh? Me? Enjoy that trash show? Never. Some scenes were just bearable to watch, I was never into anything.’ He tried to cover up so badly but halfway through his excuses he knew there was no point in trying. Uraraka was going to keep laughing at him. ‘I hate you.’ ‘You don’t.’ ‘I know.’ Uraraka’s laughter faded when the endcard started rolling. Bakugou was blushing again. That amused her more than him trying to make excuses. She took time to inspect his face for a while before having to concentrate back on the tv. Rosy cheeks, sharp features, awkward smile, hair that was getting too long and started to touch his eyelashes. He was so admirable she almost forgot that there wasn’t something quite right. She might have put her petty anger aside for a moment but it was suspicious, the way he acted before. He might’ve been serious but he still didn’t tell her why. She swore they talked about sleeping over last weekend and everything was all fine then. ‘It’s starting again.’ he said. But he was also looking at her, also inspecting every future. The sudden movements of his face made her set aside her thoughts and she was put in the middle of staring contest. It was a game they didn’t fully realized they played every now and then. In those little moments, during a study break, when getting ready to leave the gym or during the commericals like now, they just appreciated eachother. Until one person gives in makes the appreciation physical, by kissing them. She could see him starting to give in, slowly closing his eyes and leaning forward. This moment still gave Uraraka butterflies. Her heart fluttered and her gut felt heavy. As if she was as nervous as the first time they kissed. She closed her eyes but then heard the intro song of the show. Hesitantly she opened one eye to atleast catch something of the new episode. She felt Bakugou’s lips on hers, but her thoughts was still with the series. Bakugou carefully started moving his lips and tried to gently slip his tongue in her mouth. Uraraka leaned back without thinking, trying to get a better angle to watch the screen with one eye. Bakugou pulled back with closed eyes. ‘Don’t tell me you’re watching that show when I’m trying to fucking make out with you.’ ‘If I would say no would you believe me?’ Uraraka asked quickly. ‘No way in hell.’ Bakugou opened his eyes. ‘Let’s move then, I’m also breaking my neck over here.’ So together they nestled on Uraraka’s bed, legs over eachother and playing with eachother’s hands. Bakugou played with the ring on Uraraka’s finger and she’s trying to trace the lines on the palm of hand. Uraraka noticed the sky changing color. It’s beautiful orange and pink color started to disappear and started to turn into a beautiful blue velvet blanket covering the city. With the sky darkening the room darkened as well. Both of them were too lazy turn on some lights. They’ve slowly been slumping over and crawling closer to eachother as it got later. At the end of the episode Uraraka felt herself dozing off. She could feel Bakugou’s breathing starting to slow down. She turned her head away from the tv and nuzzled her head under Bakugou’s chin. She was about to close her eyes when she heard faint ticking on her window. She turned her head and saw tiny raindrops appear on her window. The ticking got faster until it merged into the calming sound of a rain shower. Uraraka felt Bakugou shift above her. She lived for mellow moments like this. They seemed so eternal. It made her keep calm, it motivated her. “Keep doing what you do to keep on experiencing these moments.” She often told herself. Uraraka watched streams slide down her window for a while. Right before her eyelids closed she saw a flash. A quick white flash. She held her breath, in this world you never know what something so simple could mean. She had learnt that from past experiences and was always alert when something so sudden happened. Then she heard the sky rumble. ‘A storm.’ She sighed to herself. Uraraka remembered the weatherman predicting a storm at the end of the week, but it had been amazing weather this whole week so she just considered it a false perdiction. She felt Bakugou move again, he grabbed her shoulders and slowly started pushing Uraraka off of him. ‘I gotta go.’ He said in a sleepy voice. Uraraka was wide awake now and sat up. ‘You gotta go?’ ‘Yeah, I gotta go.’ He raised his glasses into his mess of a hairdo and wiped the sleep of his face. Uraraka couldn’t look at him, she tried so hard to ignore her gutfeeling of something being wrong but now Bakugou was acting up again. He crawled of the bed, picked up his book from the ground and put his glasses back on the bridge of his nose. Then he just stood there and she sat on the bed. Minutes went by in silence. Another flash lit up the room. Bakugou jolted and started wobbling his leg and tapping his foot. ‘Come on roundface, just get over here and give me a kiss so I can leave.’ Uraraka turned her head to the window and relaxed her head on her hand that was resting on her propped up knee. ‘If you wanna leave so badly you can just leave ya know?’ Uraraka glanced of to the side trying to gauge Bakugou’s reaction. The boy looked restless, like he could tire himself out by just standing in one place. He plucked at his nails, head turning from the window to the door and back, still tapping his foot. ‘Uraraka, stop acting like this. This is stupid.’ He said gravely. ‘Stupid?’ Uraraka exploded, not being able to hold back her anger she had tried to keep down the whole evening. She stood up and dug her nails in her palms. ‘You’re the one that’s acting like a complete idiot. Would it really hurt you to be reasonable for once and tell me what’s going on with you, because you’re clearly not acting like yourself!’ ‘You’re the one that makes everything bigger than it is! I should really stop spoiling you because you’re acting like a know-it-all brat right now!’ She felt her chest getting tighter and her heart beating so fast it skipped beats. ‘That’s rich. That’s very rich coming from you!’ ‘Give it a fucking rest!’ He sounded incredibly distressed. Not sure if she heard it right but she swore she could hear his voice waver. The sky started rumbling, portraying the vibe in the room. Bakugou visbily jolted and slightly raised his arms to his head. ‘Fuck this.’ He rushed to the door. Uraraka rushed right after him, slightly confused. ‘Wai-.’ Bakugou turned around, his eyes looked glassy from..

Tears?

His face and neck had red patches forming on them. ‘Seriously Uraraka, give it a rest.’ The hurt and despair in his voice scared Uraraka. It made her expression soften. The boy was trembling so bad. She could barely recognize the person standing in front of her. How did she manage to bring that side out of him? She must of really pushed his buttons. Another white flash of lightning. That seemed to push Bakugou over the edge. He couldn’t hold back anymore and tears were streaming down his face. ‘You’re scared of thunder.’ Uraraka whispered. ‘Oh my God, you’re scared of thunder.’ Bakugou was frozen into place, tears continued to stream down his face. Uraraka pushed his glasses into his hair and started to wipe away the tears around his eyes and cheeks. His face felt like it was on fire. ‘I’m sorry.’ She smiled endearingly. Bakugou’s muscles wouldn’t relax. She cupped his face and stroked his cheeks with her thumbs. ‘I’m super sorry.’ Bakugou’s muscles started to relax gradually. Twitching arms wrapped themselves up around Uraraka’s waist. He pulled her in close and burried his face in her hair and shoulder. He was still at a loss for words. Uraraka freed her arms that were squished inbetween their bodies and held him back. With one hand she lazily scratched the back of his neck and his hair. ‘I look like such a loser.’ he raised his head. Uraraka pulled back from his tight embrace so she could take a look at him. ‘You’re so silly. You don’t look like a loser.’ Bakugou avoided her gaze. ‘Come back to bed okay?’ She completely pulled back and led him back to her bed holding his wrist. Together they sat down. She slapped her hand on his thigh. ‘So what’s the deal?’ Clearly still embarrassed he avoided her gaze. ‘I just hate it. I fucking hate it. Makes me feel shitty.’ Uraraka swung her head in his direction and hair dangled infront of her face. ‘Gotcha.’ Bakugou put her hair behind her ear, still avoiding her gaze. ‘Just didn’t want you seeing me freaking out like that. It’s so damn pathetic.’ Uraraka managed to get a hold of his hand before he could retract it. ‘You’re still the toughest guy i know. Scared of thunder or not.’ Bakugou huffed. ‘Still, I would’ve prefered it if you had told me this earlier.’ Bakugou rolled his eyes. ‘I know, I know. I’ll genuinely try next time.’ He finally turned to look at her. His eyes were red and he still had a pinky color on his cheeks. ‘I promise.’ Uraraka threw her arms around his neck. ‘Loads of promises today!’ Together they fell on the bed. Uraraka thought for a moment whilst Bakugou was fighting against her tight grip. ‘Do you wanna stay here?’ ‘And pee my pants in your bed? No tha-‘ he cut of his sentence when another rumble of the skies filled the room. Uraraka kicked the blankets from under them and tucked both of them in. ‘I take that as a yes.’ Bakugou simply groaned and turned away from the window. ‘You know I don’t mean what I said there right?’ ‘You better!’ Uraraka punched him in the shoulder. ‘Heat of the moment kind of thing.’ Bakugou was actually really embarassed. She’s convinced this is something he wouldn’t be able to let go easily. He’s an overthinker at heart and this will definitely start to eat at him. She took a mental note to keep an eye on him for the next couple of days. ‘What I said was also in the heat of the moment, I’m sorry for what I said.’ Bakugou punched her back. ‘You shouldn’t apologize, me being a prick made you say the things you said.’ Uraraka smirked. ‘I can’t argue that.’ Bakugou poked her in her side. ‘Rude!’ He continued poking her and tickling her sides. Uraraka tried to block Bakugou’s pokes but she knew it was hopeless from the start. ‘You’re going to be sleeping on the floor at this rate!’ she laughed. Bakugou immediately threw his hands infront on him. ‘That’s what I thought!’

Even though Bakugou seemed to have calm down considerably since their fight, she could tell he was still weary of the noises and the flashes outside. His breathing was up in his chest and he often stayed stunned for a second. Even after confessing he still tried to hide how his body reacted to the storm, quickly rambling on after being scared. She let him have that. ‘You know sleeping is out of the question right?’ Uraraka nodded. ‘I have figured.’ Uraraka was pressed against Bakugou chest and traced the outlines of his muscles with her finger. ‘You know what I don’t get?’ ‘Math?’ Uraraka frowned. ‘Yes, and also why you’re afraid of thunder? They kinda sound like explosions don’t they?’ Bakugou adjusted. ‘It’s completely different, the sound of explosions don’t make me feel like the sky is going to collapse.’ Uraraka agreed but still thought explosions were much scarier. But she knew not to discuss that matter. ‘What do you think makes the sky rumble so much?’ Uraraka continued. ‘Do you want a real answer or something I thought ‘til I was like six?’ ‘The latter please.’ She could tell Bakugou was hesitating. ‘I thought the Gods up in the sky were having a danceparty. The loud rumbling was the stomping of their feet on the dancefloor up in the clouds.’ Uraraka couldn’t help but aw. ‘Shut up, shut up, shut up!’ Urakaka covered her mouth with her hands. ‘I’m sorry but I can’t help it!’ Bakugou threw his head back and rolled his eyes tot he back of his head. ‘Oh don’t be like that!’ She left a tiny kiss on his Adam’s apple and worked her way up. Leaving tiny kisses on his chin, his jawline, his sideburns, going up to his ear that had turned red. Uraraka enjoyed teasing him, when he was pretending to not have a sense of humor or pretending not the be as clingy as he actually was. ‘I still have some questions for you!’ she giggled. ‘Hurry up and ask them then.�� Bakugou yelled. ‘So what about Kaminari?’ Bakugou glowered at her. ‘What about him?’ ‘So why doesn’t his quirk scare you? You aren’t fond of lightning either right?’ Bakugou bursted out of laughing. His whole body was shaking which sent a vibration through her own body. She awkwardly started laughing with him, not sure why what she asked was so comical to him. ‘That dunce face doesn’t faze me one bit.’ He managed to squeeze out inbetween laughs. This boy was something else. He was so incredibly complex but such a well crafted person. She felt warm inside. Hearing him laugh, him feeling somewhat comfortable here with her in her bed. This was a moment she was defintitely going to come back to.

Eigo would’ve been so happy if he could come, cause I believe I heard that (from the drama CD? I forgot!) he’s really interested in traditional Japanese performing arts, but The Elegance has no chill~~ (no pun intended). And no reason putting Ten and Inu near each other, certainly no reason. (endcard). Next week’s main will probably be Tsukigami & Kuga? BRINGITONN AAAAAA!!!! NO wait, it’s almost half of the season i can’t believe ;;;;

And my Chameleon Star illustration is still in progress LOL, the file is way too big idk anymoree. It’s already 2 weeks since the PV but I haven’t done it, GUILTY!!!

Hanamichi ∞ Go All Out! is a nice song. It reminds me the first time I heard Tenka No Hana, it was on loop. I thought Tengenpi would get a solo but yeah, this is great too. 6 people in a song and it was really unexpected haha! Now that they put 6 people altogether, it’s about time for a song that featuring team Otori x team Hiragi, like 10 people, not 2 versions of songs. BroCon did it with 14 people, pls StarMyu, I know you won’t disappoint!

And I really can’t put ep 4 into words, it’s sooo emotional (for me). I don’t think I could do justice describing the episode. ;-;

Mainly because of butterfly ebifly, I suddenly went blank... DAMMIT INU!!

Ahhh I never thought of Donny and Panne together, by like their endcard? Was like perfection! I loved that she found a home in his village and that she was happy. I wasn't sure about the supports but then it was so sweet that they challenge each other every week and that the ring was carved out of wood. I liked that he thought her soul was beautiful and wanted the humans who killed the targuels to face justice! Also how exasperated Panne was when he fell into the role and he was being cheesy!!

OOOOO YES IKR????? i just LOVE their endcard esp for pannes end! she finally finds a new home and gets to be the taguel she is. at the same time she still gets to happily live with her new family whos more than used to wildlife.

ALSO i also hcanon that yarne is a name suggested by donnel too??? coz right after yarne was born he was born as a full bunny and when donnel saw hes just ‘aww….hes like a cute ball o yarn…’ n thus the name lol

How YouTubers Can Make Money Successfully Selling Channel Merch

As a YouTuber, part-time or full-time, you should have merchandise (aka “merch”). Whether you’ve already gained a large viewership, or are still working up to your Silver Play Button, the investment of your time and effort is well worth it.

Online, you’ll find countless articles about merch related to your YouTube channel. You’ll read about using merch to promote your channel, how to make money with merch, or how to “do merch properly”, to name a few. I’ve read many of these articles, and I’m hear to say, there needs to be one more. A review article if you’d like, with concrete steps for success.

2 Things Before We Discuss Selling Channel Merch

#1) Is merch really worth your time when you’re already swamped with other, seemingly more important tasks? If you’re thinking no, that’s only because you have yet to discover the platforms that exist to help you. Gone are the days of ordering hundreds of t-shirts you spent hours designing, to then promote, sell, and ship yourself (I did this once, it’s awful, never do it).

Today, companies like Juniper, Teespring, or Spreadshirt, to name a few, can take care of everything, such as sourcing products using on-demand printing, hosting your store, creating branded designs, customer service, pricing strategies, and more. The best part? These resources are (usually) only paid when products are sold! So there is no cost to you, only monthly cheques in your name.

#2) Who am I, the writer of yet another merch article? Sadly, I’m not a YouTuber, although I work with many. For the last year, I’ve been managing e-commerce merchandise stores for YouTubers.

I started out running the customer service side-of-things, and transitioned after a couple of months to operations. Whether you have a store already, or are just starting out, here’s a couple of important points to keep in mind:

The Big Picture When Selling Merch For Your Channel

So, what is the goal with merchandise? Really, there’s two big goals:

#1) To connect with your top fans. They are happy because they get to own/wear/use merch that brings a smile to their face. You are happy because of the joy you bring to others, and you now have fans creating recognition for your YouTube channel worldwide.

#2) Creating a second, consistent revenue stream that capitalizes on the hard work you’ve done in growing your YouTube channel!

Up and coming YouTubers may start with goal #1 as their primary objective, since the income from merch might not yet be enough to cover rent; YouTubers that’ve already built a large, engaged audience will be able to emphasize goal #2, and potentially sell thousands of dollars of merchandise (if done right, we’ll cover that soon enough).

Essentially, everyone wants to execute both goals, if they aren’t already there. Yet, looking at the first goal of connecting with your fans, you’ll realize that making video content for your YouTube channel already accomplishes the goal much better.

However, the one thing merch has over video content is that it can be automated. As such, the steps you take now to set up merch for your YouTube channel will pay their investment back many times over, in good time. The key is automation through revenue sharing business models!

Setting up Merch For Your YouTube Channel

Let’s agree right now, no one should run merch from their own home. You need to use either a print-on-demand service with shipping, or fulfillment centers. Companies in either market have access to vastly superior shipping prices, while removing you from the worst part of selling merch – fulfillment.

Ah, perfect. You’ve considered a potential eCommerce partner, now it’s time to bring that merch into your YouTube world. While you’re focusing on merch as a way to connect with fans, and grow your channel, there are many good, simple habits you can adopt to set yourself up for success:

Sell Merch That Looks Good

Ideally, even people who aren’t fans would enjoy wearing your merch! You want your fans to wake up in the morning and think, “Yup, I wanna wear this YouTuber’s shirt today, cause it looks awesome!”. Some suggestions to make this happen:

keep it simple

focus designs on something universal (animals, food, an activity, etc.) while within your brand

hire a professional designer to bring your brand/ideas to life

Only Sell Good Quality Merch

This one is obvious, similar idea to the first point. How can you tell if it’s good quality? Order a sample, (many companies will give you one for free if they’re confident in their product) and you’ll be able to tell if it’s good quality. If this means switching suppliers, then so be it! Don’t disappoint fans with crappy gear.

Bring Merch Into Your Content Naturally

Wear it, display it, play with it, brand content on your YouTube channel with it (have your gaming avatar wearing the merch, build a sandcastle branded with your designs, make food resembling your designs, etc.); but never be a salesperson, shoving merch onto your fans. If you make them aware of its existence, they will purchase it when they are ready.

Create a Merch Intro!

This is essentially free advertisements for your merch, and if done well, it’ll become apart of your channel’s content. If done poorly, it’ll feel like merch is being over-marketed to viewers. Tips to avoid this:

keep it simple and short to a few seconds

hire a professional

don’t have it start every video (keep your fans on their toes at the beginning of every video)

Be Patient

Once these systems are set up, don’t expect to be making thousands of dollars immediately. It takes time for your fans to associate your merch with your content, but as your fans engage more with your channel, they’ll naturally make the choice to purchase merchandise if the above points have been implemented.

Also: Make your fans aware of where to purchase the merch. This is simple enough to accomplish with a link in every description and endcard links.

Increasing Your Profit Potential After Gaining Traction

As you grow your YouTube following and have proven merch sales, you’ll likely notice that you’re not reaching your full potential in making money as a YouTuber by limiting yourself to generic merch (t-shirts, sweaters, mugs, etc.).

This is because the big money in merchandise is with specialty products: backpacks, plush toys, fidget spinners, random products featured on your channel frequently, etc. Here are some key points to launching successful specialty products, once you’re able to get to this point:

Identify What Your Fans LOVE

These are the things that can be made into specialty products: a special character can be turned into a plush toy, a recurring theme can be used to brand a backpack, or the very essence of your channel’s content could even be turned into a board game!

Involve Your fans With Product Creation

Use their feedback to improve on the prototypes, and show them the prototype as it’s being made! Generating excitement around the product well before its release will only help with sales. However, make sure any product you’re showing fans is one you’re happy with. There is no sense in showing fans something that doesn’t look good!

Expand Your YouTube Channel’s Merch

If sales of the specialty product go well, consider creating a second specialty product add-on for even more specialty product sales! This isn’t being a sell out, this is simply identifying a good business opportunity – and supplying your fans what they want!

Build Some Buzz

Identify a launch date for the specialty product, and make sure you’re hyping up your fans the week prior! Showcasing the product(s), informing them of the launch date, etc. This helps with your first week of sales, which helps recoup any initial investment quickly.

Consider Outsourcing As Much As Possible

There are companies who have done this before and won’t charge you a dime. Shameless plug, check Juniper out! Revenue sharing is king in this business. You do not want to investigate the various sourcing options worldwide, or learn how to ship, again worldwide, product to thousands of fans, and handle the mess that follows – customer service for these things sucks, trust me. You make less money, but will save yourself hundreds of hours of work.
