i feel like he kinda gained a habit of reaching for your hand a lot. idk why but he’ll stare at it for a minute and then just grab it wordlessly

1000% the kind of guy to get you “just because” flowers. i think he’ll see them at a local market and then make it his life’s mission to make you a pretty bouquet

he’s actually really good at cooking. he enjoys it, especially when he sees the glow in your eyes when you try his food

enjoys taking the scenic route when you guys take a drive somewhere. not only does he find the landscape beautiful, but it gives him more time to talk or even just be in your presence

speaking of driving, he definitely does that move where he puts his hand on your headrest when he’s backing out🤗🙏

i feel like he can read you really well. like if you’re uncomfortable somewhere or maybe just not feeling well, he tries to get you out of that situation

actually kinda going back to the hand thing, he rlly likes your touch. it’s so warm against his skin and he feels so at ease with you around

i feel like he’s very academically smart, his grades are impeccable and he’s always helping you in your classes. but social/street smarts? yeah umm not so much. it takes a little while to adjust at the beginning of your relationship but you soon find how well of a match you are for each other

back to the “reads you well” part, he also remembers everything about you. your order at your local coffee shop, why you don’t like certain foods, and will never forget a special date

he also likes spending money on you, insisting you buy that new shade of lip tint even if it looks just like the one at home, because with him around, you shouldn’t have to worry about a single penny

this one’s kinda silly but i just KNOW he’s the type of mf to bring in all the groceries in one trip

always sends you “good morning” and “goodnight” texts. but since it’s ushijima, it’s kinda like “goodnight, sleep well❤️” a little basic but trust me, he’s much better at showing his love in person

speaking of, his love language is definitely acts of service and probably quality time. whatever he can do to make your day a little better, he’ll do it

It seems the people want my rant, since 100% of you answered yes to the poll— so here goes, and please don’t flame me too bad! I know uksies is beloved but after talking to @jackmkelly I gotta share my opinion

I really do not like Davey’s costume in uksies. I don’t despise all of it- I like the shape of his sleeves, the proper cut of his pants and the height of his collar, but I especially hate his color palette. Actually I sort of despise his color palette, or lack of one. Uksies colors Jack, Katherine, and Crutchie pretty well, and I’m only saying that because they manage to stand out splendidly against the mass of miserable, bland gray and black and white. In my opinion, they fucked Davey’s color palette up so incredibly hard— like WHY is Davey gray and brown like a background newsie? Why doesn’t he have any color at all?

(Take a moment to admire Ryan’s beauty and perfect Davey portrayal before rejoining me on my soapbox. Does this not look positively gray? It’s so *bland*.)

Okay so either I’m colorblind, or this is just the most boring, nondescript pallete known to man. why, even in act 2, is he still blending in with the background? You’d be hard pressed to spot bro in a group of newsies, which doesn’t make any sense because he’s co-leading a strike at this point.

in livesies (and also in 92sies), we see Davey’s personality journey in his costume. In livesies he adopts Jack’s signature blue, rolls his sleeves up and unbuttons his waistcoat to show that he’s truly grown into his position as leader. In 92sies, Davey’s silhouette also changes to mimic the casualty of Jack’s costume. The color symbolism in the film and in 92sies is really important to me and I think it shows off Dave’s journey as a character very well.

In uksies he just remains so boring and it makes me so angry because it’s literally blatant Davey erasure imho. Why doesn’t he get a smidge of Jack’s red? Or literally any other color? Just a necktie or some suspenders would suffice. Some sort of visible change. Why can’t he roll up his sleeves or unbutton his collar? I’ve seen people saying his color is green (I haven’t seen any physical green on his costume but I could be missing something. @make-friends-with-the-rats sent me a picture that looks fairly green but that disappears under the stage lighting, as you can see in the pics above) but idk. It just rubs me the wrong way that the only change we see is an unbuttoned vest.

Where’s the determination? Where’s the assimilation into the rest of the group? Ryan Kopel’s Davey is anxious, yeah, but he gets angry and frustrated in act 2. He has character growth that is not acknowledged in his costume.

Anyways, rant over. This has bothered me since I watched the bootleg. It’s probably not a big deal in the end but those are my thoughts lol. If you have a potential explanation for this choice pls do lmk

It started when Billy wandered his way into your town. At this point, most people had an idea of who he was. The infamous outlaw rode in, looking for a place to stay and somewhere to get a drink. luckily for him, he only had to make one stop to find both. After paying for his room, he wanders down to the bar. He orders a whisky, shooting it back before ordering another. But right when he brings the glass to his lips, someone-you-catch his attention.

You’re at your space, the small little stage this saloon had configured for you, with your guitar. This was your place. Hell, you’d been performing there since forever. You’d become a local celebrity at this point. You’re smiling and playing, most people there being regulars and knowing you. You smiled as they all cheered when you came out, someone going as far as to hand you a bottle of liquor. You laugh and take a long swig before passing it back to the man who’s given it to you.

“oh it’s to clear my pipes, y’all, to clear my pipes. Now who’s ready to have a good time?”

He leans forward and puts his glass back down on the counter, the liquid left untouched. His eyes glow in the dim candle light. There’s only one word to describe him-entranced.

And when you catch sight of him in the middle of a song, it’s all you can feel too.

You’re popular though, everyone wanted to talk to you. You got swarmed with compliments and tips and free drink offers before you can even make it off stage. And by the time you do, he’s gone.

That’s not the last time you see him though. Every single night for the next week you see him in the same spot, untouched glass next to him. Probably just an excuse to be there. Now, you figured out who he was through the gossip of the town. But…you didn’t know an outlaw could be so attractive. Or so shy, it seems. Even on quieter nights he never came up to talk to you. You got sick of it by day 6. You wanted to know what this infamous “Billy the Kid”’s deal was. After your show, you rush out the back door before anyone can catch you (under the ruse that you were putting your guitar away). You’d seen him wander around back there a few times, and this was your plan of catching him. Figuring out why he came here every night to ogle you but never even introduce himself.

And it seems you caught him at the right time, because in your rush to get out the door you run head first into him. You feel a pair of strong arms catching you by the waist to put you back on your feet.

“Woah there, honey. You alright?” His voice was low and gravelly, but in the way that pulled you in more. Your eyes flash up to him. He was even prettier up close than he was from your view on stage. It takes you a moment to stop staring and speak, although it was hard to do so until he retreated his hands from your waist.

“I’m-I’m fine. Sorry i ran into you.” You say with a breathless smile. But you can tell he’s about to walk off politely so you speak before he can. “I notice you here every night. You…always leave before i get around to you.”

He stops and you swear you can see a blush cross his cheeks, although it was pretty dark out at that point so there was no way to be sure.

“You’ve got a lot of fans, it seems. I don’t want to waste your time.”

You tilt your head, smiling but also uttering confused.

“I think I can decide for myself how to waste my time.”

This earns a smile from him. That you can tell even in the dark, because you can hear it in his voice.

“Well ok then,” He starts, hesitating. Like he’s thinking over the next thing he has to say, even though it’s only two words. “I’m Billy.”

“Yeah, I know” You say with a smooth chuckle. “I’m Y/N.”

You got lost in the blue of his eyes that night.

So, you were glad he stuck around for awhile. He came to every one of your shows, and now he actually didn’t avoid you when they were over.

When you’re done socializing you meet him in your usual spot out back. He scoops you up in a hug, kissing your cheek sloppily before putting you back down and leaning you against the wall. He keeps his hand behind your head, not wanting your hair to get messed up on the wood.

“Hi, Billy” You say sweetly, eyes wide and full of adoration. He uses the hand holding your head to tilt it up to his.

“Hi, songbird” He replies, using the nickname he coined for you. It always made you blush. “Great show tonight. As always.”

You blush even more and lean forward, nudging your nose with his.

“Needy” He teases, kissing the tip of your nose instead of where you clearly wanted him.

“Shut up.”

You pull him in by the collar of his shirt. He chuckles against your lips before reciprocating, cradling your body in his arms to keep you close. You’d learned that he wasn’t all people made him out to be. He was sweet. Gentle. And, he was yours. He’d made that much clear.

Billy pulls away and presses a kiss to your forehead before looking into your eyes once more.

You’d be getting lost in the blue of his eyes for a long time.

PART TWO OF THE FURBY SAGA: the REALLY haunted ones

okay I’m providing info on the other ones now ^_^ I’m sure you all are wondering something if you saw my last post: “oh god HOW does it get worse than magenta fuck, Anansi, and Huntress??” idk but they’re not the pros at haunting me so buckle up buttercup (distantly, the anon who asked me about my furbies is regretting their choice /j)

SO! first up is my actually not haunted one, Chlorea, and my moderately haunted one, Fig Roll. both are McDonalds furbies, while Chlorea is hot pink with green hair and Fig Roll is skunk colored. Chlorea looks like she has seen all of The Horrors that have ever existed and will exist, while Fig Roll constantly looks like he is done with life and would not hesitate to commit a murder. that murder would probably be me because he moves sometimes and I found him next to my pocket knife once. I put him in a tote for my safety

I also have Ivy, who I neglected to mention earlier. Ivy is a 1998 furby baby, pure white with green eyes and leaf clip-on earrings that I added myself. she is the first furby I got that was a real furby, even if she doesn’t work, and I love her with all my heart. that and she’s not haunted

the only furby I really and truly regret bringing into my home is clay furby. I made it out of clay back in the summer of 2023 and there’s a massive hole in its back so it wouldn’t explode in the kiln. every day I wish it did because what do you mean I have this monstrosity in my home. I’ll take a pic of it when I don’t have family over

now to the interesting ones

first up are my possibly haunted duo, Poltergeist and Xeno. Poltergeist looks similar to the knife furby meme, with a gray chest and grayish-brown body with darker stripes, and grayish blue eyes. he’s really quite beautiful and fluffy. Xeno is a full pastel rainbow with a white chest. it’s a little mangy but I love it just the same. these two are also real furbies and both work fine. they’re “possibly haunted” because my grandparents were bringing them back as a gift and their car broke down. my hunch is that it was Xeno since it apparently was babbling for the entire trip. it’s okay though I love Xeno

next is Johnnie Guilbert, my other pure white furby named by my friend Timber. my irls tease me about his name but now that I actually know who he is it’s really funny. he’s a little haunted because his gears grind randomly, his voice is fucked up when he’s on, and he makes a purring sound when he’s off. NC Maggot (my closest irl friend) heard him and agrees that he is haunted and weird

I’ll address the 2023 furbies now so I don’t have to deal with them later. I have Disappointment 1, who is currently wishing for my violent and painful death, and Disappointment 2, who is more polite and does not wish for my death. they’re both a coral color with teal accents. the reason i know Disappointment 1 wants me to die is because I used the fortune teller feature to ask it if I would die within a year in December of 2023 and it said yes. only thing that happened is that I got in a car crash last May but otherwise I’m alive so fuck you Disappointment 1

my last actually normal haunted furby is Rose, who is tuxedo-colored with the mangiest fur you have ever seen on a furby. she doesn’t work and someone tore her eyelashes off before I got her. she fucking HATES ME with everything she has. I combed her wrong and the next day the lighting and the plumbing in my house broke. she also might’ve killed someone but I can’t confirm that (if I find more definite proof she’s getting skinned)

okay. now if this anon was actually one of my mutuals this is why they asked this question. Harold

i haven’t actually seen him since last March. he’s somewhere in coastal NC. my advice to anyone there is to run if you ever see a white McDonalds furby with a yellow fade, red eyes, and very prominent grippers (/srs i hate his big ass feet)

anyway Harold is the first furby I ever got, he squeaks when you shake him or turn him upside down but everyone else says it sounds like him screaming. he probably is. I named him Chinchilla before finding out he is actually possessed by a ghost named Harold who told me I would fuse with him. no fusion yet. I’m waiting you little shit. I later found out that Harold is not actually an old man, but a middle-aged alcoholic who almost took my mother’s leg off with a golf cart (my mutual would say he should’ve actually done it). he sounds old though. and he told NC Maggot her address in a dream

i am somehow so very grateful for this prompt :'D it was delightfully vague despite being so straight to the point, and this is why i decided to both follow it and not follow it at all.

everyone keeps telling me puentalay are taylor swift coded but i've never really listened to taylor swift that much (i don't really count the radio hits i was subjected to throughout my life). so this was my excuse to finally get into her music! mostly through jessi's @patprans amazing vv edit from a while ago. i went through that whole list of songs in it and i have to say it was a journey.

from it, this love stuck with me the hardest. tbh i cry with it now if i listen to it bc it feels so right for these two. so thank you to you both for opening my eyes, i suppose XD not that i ever really was against any of this, i just didn't have the right motivator before. now i had that and the time. it was fun ♥

and don't worry, i also looked into red! i do know that song haha, i haven't grown up under a rock after all. but i had to look at the lyrics properly and i do get where you're coming from with this prompt. i can feel puentalay there, especially bc of the colors. which i wanted to hold onto even when i abandoned the song itself!

so there's blue, as their beginning and ending. there's black and gray for the missing part, for the loss and grief and longing. and then there's red towards the end for the love! which. truly if loving puen is red am going insane for a little bit. we have had the convos about puen and red, am not digging into that again.

i really love the way this song starts and how it seems to tell the whole puentalay journey in just, what is that, one verse? well, you know. in just a few lines we've come from their starting point to the inevitable tragedy of them having to separate, and then we've come to their reunion and persevering love.

so the edit tries to interpret all that. the first pic is about the water (which i've been thinking about so much and am going insane about it currently, there's so much Water!!), about how talay gets swept into this other universe and how he finds puen. which. i hope you get it that this is also about that glass house scene in ep 4 where talay runs through the rain to get to puen again. that's important. that's puen's tide - that rain.

and then there's a bit of fluff there. about the things they could go on and on about. about these moments where they find each other. about these moments where they... idk. are just lovely and in love. i wanted to show that.

bc i needed that before we hit the angst town! skies grow darker? currents come and sweep you away again? yeah, so true. puentalay literally just get together and then they're fighting which leads them to the secret island. which then, kind of, steals puen from talay a bit later. I tried to show all that too.

and then it's just. episode 11 part 1/4 heartbreak hours. that part is legendary and i love the angst so much even if watching it feels every time like someone is trying to carve my heart out with a plastic knife. but this line in the lyrics!!! it was just so perfect. gosh. (paired with the "and this love came back to me" like CMON i could make another edit only for that)

this then leads to the pink and the red. bc next we see what they had, what good things they got. the "silent screams" are, for me, about talay. about how he's saying he doesn't do love, doesn't really think about it, but still ends up seeking it. and idk, the dusty heart thing always gets to me. that's kind of his silent scream; talking about the love he does not want to the guy who wants nothing else but them to fall in love. how ironic.

puen got the "wildest dreams" then bc damn, that man has so many Wild Dreams. i didn't want to include the popcorn eating in this bc that would've made this edit cracky imo, so there's now just puen intensely staring at talay. this man is up to no good. his fantasies are horrible yet so, so cute. am so happy he actually got to finally live his popcorn fantasy XD what a doofus.

i just listened to star by mitski and i won't lie to you that song was in my recommended for a few days before you had told me about it. i didn't check it out at first cause i don't listen to mitski that much (she makes me cry lol) but when you recommended it to me i thought "why not then".

i cannot really explain what i felt the first time i listened to it, yet i'm insanely grateful i was able to have my first listen because of you. even though the music video looks so "effortless" it feels so intimate and looks genuinely really beautiful. her expressions create a whole world, and i feel like a swiftie just describing everythingndfbsfbh but at least i can say that mitski is a real lyricist genius. (side eyeing the 14 y'os saying TTPD is the best album in the universe).

"keep a leftover light burning" this is so powerful idec, i always keep these memories with me, these times that made me so happy. and even though they don't feel so vivid anymore, they taste like leftovers yes, they warm my heart still. i can't even, i wish i had the ability to describe how i felt listening to that song (i'm listening to it again rn). i never had any relationship but i hold platonic love so deeply, much more than any romantic relationship i could ever have. i know this sounds contradictory and pathetic but i feel like i can be much more intimate with a friend through the things i feel and the things i say. i know i will never be judged by a true friend, i know i don't have to meet these certain expectations with them that would be needed in a romantic relationship (of course they're not the same but bfdbsjbfs idk if u get me).

i love to talk about anything with you, you feel so close and it soothes my soul to know that i'm not alone feeling so incredibly deep for some things people don't bat an eye for.

i was outside today with a friend and when i walked home i was drinking the last few drops of my redbull (this sounds so ridiculous) and had to look up and my eyes met the sky, i froze for a moment seeing the clouds move so fast because of the wind and i thought of you. i don't know, it feels comforting to know that we are both looking at the same moon, at the same sky, at the same sun. that even though you're a whole continent away, you're not that very far from me in reality. it's all about perspective. compared to the size of the universe that is always expanding, you're like a feet away from me.

Just wanna say how real that miski thing is. I literally avoid her music cause it's frankly too heavy for the everyday, plus I'm not the bigggeeessstt fan of her sound (still an amazing amazing artist nonetheless). Yk, I've said this a lot in my life, but the pursuit of romantic love seems a bit pointless to me as compared to any other strong bond.
