One thing I really appreciate about Heartstopper is how it puts friendships on the same level as romantic relationships. Like, how Charlie wrote Tao's name on the lock and not Nick's? That was so beautiful. It shows that friendships matters as much, that we should cherish them too.

ngl the bit where coach singh playfully bumps mr ajayi and tells him to invite mr farouk and he eventually does it with a cute little smile and she's grinning sooo self-satisfied is the CUTEST bit of the whole show

because they're middle-aged adults and they're much more mature/put-together than the teen main characters, right? but they still grin bashfully and tease each other and get blushing and loving. just. idk man, to be an adult and still get mushy with feelings

i know that s2 harry greene is still not the best person but i love how we see his development in his jokes

in s1 his punchlines were "haha you're gay" which is an asshole-y thing to do

and his joke at prom was "i can't believe nick is showing off his boyfriend but none of you managed to bring a girl", it still includes (in this case) nick's queerness but it's not the punchline anymore

Imogen is so bi for bi that she’s an unwitting dowsing rod for bi people.

She’s very much that unknowingly bi girl I was too. With the ‘things would be easier if I was into girls’ type thoughts (someone should tell her that wishing you were queer is a sign you might actually be queer) and the not being able to recognize or process her own responses to Sahar.

Her not having anyone wanting to room with her for the Paris trip and generally only having guy friends also makes me think about her relationship to femininity. She’s ‘one of the guys’ but also not, set apart as ‘the girl’ in her social circle. And that is so lonely.
