My first post
Hello Transformers fans! As you can see the title, this is my first post on Tumblr. So today I'll be talking about Transformers...Transformers 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦 to be exact. And this is about a certain ship...a popular one.... So ever since I rewatched TFP and found out that fanfictions exists, like character x reader and blah blah blah, I noticed something and I was like...ok nice, until I saw it all over the internet. Wattpad, DeviantArt, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, Tumblr, YouTube, and more...let's say I got a bit...annoyed. And I'm talking about a certain ship, the Knockout and Breakdown ship. The 'popular' ship that has been going around, and I keep seeing it on my fyp. This '𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱' all ppl would call has made me disgusted. AF. I heard that there's some kind of comic where Knockout and Breakdown are 'married', and people saying that its '𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘯', pissed me off. I've seen WAYYY too many stuff like that. Because first of all, Knockout is the Decepticon medic (as you all should obviously know, for those of you who watched TFP) and breakdown is his assistance. Those two are just friends, literally just friends. And idk why tf you people ship these two. Like, imagine getting shipped with 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 friend/buddy or assistant or whatever. But I have a question, 𝘞𝘏𝘖 even MADE that comic? With Knockout and Breakdown being married and stuff? First of all they're Cybertronians, and they could be asexual. For those of you who watched Transformers Prime, there's that one episode in season 3 ep 7 (Plus One), where Knockout says. "Frankly, I find it 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦. The whole idea of you fleshies...𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨". Now I'm not sure but I think 'interfacing' means....'sex' in the Cybertronian terms (correct me if I'm wrong). And I've seen some...Knockout and Breakdown fanarts that...have NSFW...and boy I was 𝘖𝘉𝘝𝘐𝘖𝘜𝘚𝘓𝘠 𝘿𝙄𝙎𝙂𝙐𝙎𝙏𝙀𝘿. 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗗. 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗪𝗧𝗙. First of all they're 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦 for Primus's sake. Second of all they are 𝘔𝘈𝘓𝘌, and what makes you think that males would do...𝘛𝘏𝘈𝘛?! They don't have a vagina! And third of all, they are 𝗡𝗢𝗧 together, idgaf what you people say, claiming that its 'cannon'. Wtf? And I believe that all Cybertronians 𝘢𝘳𝘦 asexual. And I've seen something like a character in RID named 'Wildbreak' is KO and BD's 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥?! 𝗪𝗧𝗙?! 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗨𝗣. Now the reason why I freaking 𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗘 this 'ship' so much is that I am a huge ass simp for Knockout and Breakdown's in the way. I don't understand, what makes you fans think that this 'ship' is cute? I don't understand why I hate things society loves, and they hate what I love? For example, I hate dogs (sorry dog lovers), and yet they are the most popular pets. I love horses...but not many people love them that much. This is why I hate people. This is why I hate the society and everything. This world is so messed up. Now idc what people say about me hating on this ship,(maybe I do cre cuz I want to STOP this ship) I don't ship any TFP character with anyone, and neither do my friends. My friends recently watched TFP and if they find out about this Knockout and Breakdown 'ship', they're gonna be 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗳. KO and BD and 𝗡𝗢𝗧 together in 𝘛𝘏𝘈𝘛 way in the show, and whoever made that IDW comic is an idiot (I would have given a worse insult, but I chose not to). 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬. 𝗔𝗥𝗘. 𝗡𝗢𝗧. 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗡. Only friends, and that's it. And plus, poor Breakdown died thanks to that ugly Airachnid. Oh and, another reason why I hate this ship is because I love Knockout, but I hate Breakdown. And that IS actually messed up (sorry BD lovers). So I guess that's it for today. I hope I'm not the only Knockout x Breakdown ship hater. Haters will hate. Deal with it 😐. Have a good day people.
#first post#Transformers Prime#tfp#tfp knockout#tfp breakdown#i hate things that are WAYY TOO popular and I wanna stop it >:<#STOP shipping this!!!!!#it not cannon#ship? nahh more like SHIT#i wanna fight for my opinion

so i have only seen that one transformers movie with shia labeouf. where do i start for the Good stuff. i am fascinated by starscream.
cracking *every* single bone in my body anon this is gonna be long I'm so sorry
Ok so there's a FANTASTIC post here about where to start if you're not sure where to. In my humble opinion, this post on Reddit is also super helpful- because, unfortunately, transformers comes with 800 continuities like Marvel- and ofc that's gonna happen to a 30-year-old franchise, so it's confusing. but in THAT CASE, if you're confused, youtuber Chris McFeely has an entire series called Transformers: The Basics which has short, easily digestible videos on certain continuities, characters, and plot devices while remaining fairly spoiler free- obviously, there are gonna be spoilers, but for the most part they're pretty spoiler free and help establish certain lore things if you're confused! Though hopefully you won't need it too much based on what I'm giving you here, cause I know getting into a series and instantly having to do homework just sucks
Whats fun about the TF cartoons is that for the most part, each one is in their own continuity, so any prior knowledge isn't really required because they do end up telling you how the rules of the world works. For fun awesome Starscream content in particular for COMICS, he plays a HUGE role in the IDW comics- IDW 1 in particular has some choice screamer moments, those comics start with More Than Meets The Eye #1 and Lost Light #1.
If you don't want to give all your time and energy to a comic, there's also cartoons! Transformers Animated is a 2007 cartoon made by the ben 10 and teen titans crew, it moves like ass but its writing is undeniably solid. Starscream is voiced by tom kenny and he's an absolute DELIGHT i love him. Transformers Prime is the grim, edgy reboot made in 2010- and I haven't seen this one yet so I can't fully recommend it, but this is the one that the fandom has latched onto the most from what I've seen. Transformers (1984) is fantastic if you're looking to giggle and are into the weird memes, like 80% of the starscream being a weirdo compilation videos are from this.
Luckily most- if not all- the cartoons have their own comic tie ins if you're still starved for content for that particular run!
If you Can stomach early 90's television CGI, cause I know that's a giant turn off for some, I recommend Beast Wars with my whole damn chest- it's my favorite, the writing is just hands down fantastic, its smaller cast means you get some serious development, and its a great place to start and understand the context behind the new Rise of the Beasts movie!
A really GREAT CGI series that just came out that also lacks the starscream content is Transformers Earthspark!! Its definitely got a kids show vibe to it (mostly in how lessons are handled and conveyed to the audience) but its got a lot of fun, more family-oriented moments for older audiences to enjoy, and really interesting lore implications for older tf fans as well (Like genuinely how they're handling Megatron and Optimus is so fascinating to me I could go on a tangent about how good they are as foils here) the fight scenes are incredible, the representation is so good, and I think Robby and Mo are the least annoying TF kid characters, I would die for them. Downside, it's only streaming on paramount plus rn.
also literally all these series are available to stream for free on tubi (except earthspark)
HOPEFULLY this was helpful, I'm very new to the fandom myself so I'm still learning a lot, but I hope you like the silly robot show- I haven't had this much fun with a piece of media for awhile :)

Out of curiosity, why does it bothers you that Sega refers to Tails as a sidekick? I mean its pretty much an informed attribute/flaw at this point, since if I remember right, he's never referred as such in game and only a couple of times in the Archie and IDW comics and in Sonic Boom.
The term “sidekick” is just demeaning, imo. A sidekick is a hero’s assistant, a hero’s helper, they’re not a hero in their own right, not really. There’s a reason why the word “sidekick” is often preceded by the word “little,” as in, “your little sidekick.” Sure, sidekicks help. But they very rarely, if ever, go on solo adventures. It’s why the various Robins throughout the years adopted other identities when they went solo (most of the time, anyway). Dick Grayson became Nightwing, Stephanie Brown was Spoiler, Jason Todd was Red Hood, and so on and so forth. Sure, you get instances like Teen Titans where Dick was still Robin even as he led the Titans, but most of the time when sidekicks “graduate” to being heroes in their own right, they take on a new name and hero identity. Sidekicks are assistants, subordinates, tagalongs. It’s a step down from hero.
So for me, “sidekick” is a belittling term, and I’m not a fan of it. But I also feel that it just doesn’t fit Tails anymore! Yes, he helps Sonic—but he also helps the rest of the team with his tools and technology. And more importantly, he has had solo adventures and he has saved the day on his own, multiple times. “Tails’ Sky Patrol” and “Tails Adventure” are both games where he’s the only playable character / hero. The Sonic Adventure games had an entire arc about him stepping into heroism in his own right, with him saving Station Square on his own in SA1 and having numerous successful solo missions / solo battles against Eggman where he came out victorious (on the Hero Side, sure, but still). In the comics, he’s not only held his own in most of his appearances (the only time we saw him cowering was at the very end of the Metal Virus saga), but he was also the one who essentially came up with a cure for the Metal Virus before it was destroyed, managed to talk down his evil clone, saved the day altogether in the most recent issue, etc. At this point, Tails helps Sonic as much as Sonic helps him. It’s not a hero-sidekick/assistant relationship, they’re hero partners.
So it just bugs me. It’s not that I think Tails is some amazing hero with no flaws—actually, part of the reason I like him so much is because he has flaws. I like that he’s not great at lying and can be caught off-guard sometimes (such as when he blurted out “how did you know?!” when Eggman said the Emerald was fake in SA2). I like that he’s not always confident in himself, that he feels afraid in dangerous situations, even as he squares up to do the thing anyway. I like that he can be a little sensitive at times, and have fits of temper like the kid he is. But you can have flaws—you can lack self-confidence at times, you can be afraid in the face of danger, you can be young and inexperienced or naïve—and still be a hero. Hell, in the IDW comics, Cream’s bio calls her “Gentle Heroine,” and she’s never had a solo adventure or saved the day on her own! Keep in mind that I’m not against Cream being called a hero, because she’s definitely on Team Hero and she’s SO brave and I adore her—but if anyone could count as a sidekick (apart from Kit), it would be Cream to Amy’s hero. But . . . she’s not. She gets the bump up to hero/heroine while Tails is just “sidekick.” I wish I could understand what the criteria or thought process is here, but I just don’t. It makes no sense.
So yeah, it bugs me. It’s probably going to always bug me. It’s small potatoes when Tails is otherwise treated very well in the comics (and I can only hope he gets treated well in Frontiers after the Forces debacle), but it’s still an annoyance whenever I look at the descriptive blurbs on the bio page of the comics. It’s just one of those things.
#ultrakingofbattle#miles tails prower#like Kit actively sees himself as Surge's sidekick — & in so doing he sees himself as lesser than her#he's not as important as her - he's just her sidekick#& part of that is bc that's how Starline conditioned him bc that's how Starline sees Tails#as lesser / not as important as Sonic#but that's not true!! Starline didn't know jack shit abt Tails or his relationship w/ Sonic#but then the comics are like ''he kinda right tho'' when they label Tails sidekick instead of hero . . .#i love the IDW comics so much but this just annoys tf out of me#one little word change that's all i'm asking for#i don't think i'm asking for a whole lot#sth

1, 12, 17, 18, 23, 28, 30 and 40 for the TF ask :3
1. Decepticon, Autobot or Neutral?
The Decepticons initially had the right kind of idea but I definitely agree with what the Autobots ultimately came to stand for way, way more. That being said I would probably just wuss out of the war and be a neutral.
12. Least favorite ship(s)?
I dunno if I really have a least favourite ship. There’s countless ships I’m indifferent to, and ships I’d prefer not to be canon (mainly because they’d get in the way of ships I’d want to be canon), and ships I can’t understand the popularity of, but I can’t think of any that I actively dislike.
17. Least favorite comic series?
I haven’t read every single TF comic ever so I can’t really say definitively, but of the ones I have read, Heart of Darkness was kinda...not good.
18. Least favorite human character(s)?
Hmmm, I don’t especially hate any of the human characters, but I guess IDW Spike kinda sucks, and while TFP Miko had potential to be a really good character she ended up being kinda annoying. Oh, also while I didn’t dislike TFP Raf as a character, he was responsible for all that highly unbelievable hacking in the show, which is one of my pet peeves in fiction.
23. Favorite underrated character(s)?
I kinda feel like the IDW continuity, and by extension all the IDW characters, are underrated by the franchise as a whole, since they’re for the most part the most complex and interesting versions of the characters in the franchise, yet only the more hardcore TF fans know they exist.
In IDW itself, I wish Garrison Blackrock got more love, since I reckon there’d be so much that can be done with a Transformer who believed he was a human. Plus he’s funny.
Vigilem was only around for a little while but he was pretty great. Same goes for Tyrest. I would have liked to of seen more of Dominus Ambus too.
Also I dunno if he really counts as a Transformers character but I loved Action Man.
28. A bot you’d want as a mentor?
Rhinox from Beast Wars! He’d be a really kind mentor and he’d be able to teach me all sorts of things.
30. Favorite fandom sparklings (if you know of any)?
The ones you’ve drawn.
40. What would you do if the Autobots landed on Earth right now and asked for your help?
SHIT IT BEATS GOING TO WORK

I was a tf fan when I was a kid and had a lot of toys (rip wherever they are now) but never got into the fandom. And it wasn't until last year that the tf love came roaring back and I devoured most of the idw comics and caught up on the shows.
And then one day during a break at work I thought to myself 'If I keep reblogging tf stuff on my main blog I'll probably lose what few followers I have, so why don't I make a sideblog. That way I'll be able to talk to myself about robots and not annoy anyone.'
So on the spur of the moment I made this blog, and gave next to zero thought about what my username would be. Because why should I care, since I wouldn't get any followers and didn't plan to get involved in this fandom. Which clearly didn't happen. And I'm so glad it didn't.
I love this fandom! It's big and varied and I love that there's so much amazing content of so many great characters to enjoy. Art, writing, cosplay, merchandise, everything.
I really never expected to contribute to it as much as I have done. But tf is just so inspiring. And so are the people in the fandom. If it wasn't for talking with the people I do, I wouldn't be where I am now.
@shapeofmetal I'll never forget talking about SG Rung on @rawmeknockout server - that was the springboard to get on ao3 and write my first tf fic and publish it.
(which has still not been updated because of Other Wonderful Characters Distracting me. Sorry to anyone waiting on that - updates exist I just need to get them out there)
Everyone I've met in this fandom is so incredibly supportive and imaginative and enthusiastic and it's great. My eternal thanks to all the people that message me on here, message me on other sites, talk in the tags, talk in the comments on a post, and continue to encourage me and listen to my ramblings about characters they might not care about or even knew existed.
YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE YOU'RE ALL FANTASTIC, THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU AND FOR MAKING THIS AN AMAZING FANDOM TO BE A PART OF
And thank you to anyone who has ever written or drawn or created something. You're great, please never stop!
Transformers Fandom!
Let’s balance out the shit-stirrers with something fandom positive! Tell us about something positive that has happened to you in or because of the Transformers fandom - reblog or comment!
I gotta say, I’ve made so many amazing friends in this fandom, and met so many talented people that have inspired and influenced me. Best thing in a long time was joining in the TF fandom instead of lurking like I did! I couldn’t have improved as an artist as much as I have without the amazing support and inspiration here.
