I’m in two minds with this most recent episode.  I’ve seen people say that Jaune shouldn’t have been in the ever after, that it takes away from wby and any of them could have taken his place.  For the most part I don’t disagree, but I also don’t think him being there is a bad thing either, except this last episode where to me it felt a bit clear that he has taken some focus off the other three girls.  To be honest, I thought the talk the four of them have felt incredibly awkward this (ep 9) episode. 

I don’t think it should have been about making Jaune feel better, I think it should have focused on Yang who just watched her sister basically commit suicide.  I’m not saying it’s a bad talk, but it almost feels like the first half of the conversation should have been last episode, that they gave ruby some time to cool off and then were able to rally Jaune, not that Ruby just for all intents and purposes killed herself in front of them.  I know that seeing the outcome of the ascended paper pleasers would ruin the ruby ascending moment but the way it’s done is crazy to me.  they could have cut off the first part of the conversation, used it in episode 8 then have the genial gems find them after the outcome to show that there was still hope after Ruby drank the tea.  It would be complicated in editing, but it just feels like a mess and hurts the impact of what happens compared to what the outcome was. 

It just feels like a wasted opportunity to not focus on Yang when the issue is Ruby being gone. If Sapphron or any of Jaune’s sisters died, I think the following episode should focus on Jaune.  To not explore Yang’s trauma with watching her sister die, to not have her break down in a disservice to both the character and the story.  I still think the episode as a whole was good, the scene with Yang both finding the wooden Ruby ‘statue’ and fighting the cat’s illusions of zombie ruby were great, but to not have her being the one to deal with the outcome of Ruby’s apparent sucide feels like a huge waste. 

I’m just rambling now because it’s annoying, so I’m ending now before I lose more coherency

What a shitty way to find out you're being laid off, that every story you created and was currently running has an unknown future. RT was a shitty company, but there were so many people in there who genuinely tried to create things that they loved.

Honestly yeah, you’re right but I do think we should be critical of the fact that so many of the disabled characters are villains in RWBY.

I’m mostly annoyed at his writing with how it portrayed a heavily disabled person but I can see why his character developed how it did.

I guarantee you that most of the people who got mad about Ironwood's writing did not gave a fuck about his character until they realized they can use him as an excuse to get mad at The Females™.

The way Cinder acts in s1-3 is so funny. The unceasing bedroom voice, the knowing smirks, the "oh Roman, you'll know when you need to know..." all because every single step of her plan is going off without a hitch - the only situation she can handle. And the SECOND something goes wrong, the facade shatters IMMEDIATELY and we can see the angry, pathetic rabid wet cat she was the whole time.

My two favorite things!! RWBY and Sakura! Thanks @thanatos-nightshade .

As much as gauntlets similar to Yang's could fit her beautifully, I just can't seem let go of Sakura using her big ass axes! I also imagined her semblance being "Healing", but she only figures it out later on and all throughout the academy years she'd try to compensate her lack of skill by using these huge exaggerated weapons - little did anyone realize that her abnormal strength to use said weapons was already her own body healing itself as she overexerted her muscles beyond its limits.
