BACKSTORY: Al and Lucifer never met till Al was injured, Al was not part of angels or from heaven he was a overlord, but helping them 2 get a exterminations by his love of control n power like his canon till he got betray by his old friend vox since they both wanted 2 do the exterminations. Like Charlie and vaggie past Lucifer found al weak and hospitalized him in his palace, this is when his wife and Charlie not there anymore, Charlie have her own place n Lilith in heaven! So luci was all alone n depressed of his loneliness so he thought how bad could it be 2 have a sinner who is weak n need help 4? But since extermination al is kinda like canon it’s was bad. Al has trust issues and don’t trust luci at all and will piss him off by his tactics like the canon verse, that make luci and al h8 each other during the weeks but luci had patience 2 him since Lucifer don’t know what he been tho. Al don’t get it why isn’t he like leave him in the streets? Hes a king he should not help Al out, that’s what Al mind that why he don’t trust him till Lucifer talk 2 him about why he help him because he cares that make Al more comfortable and open 2 Lucifer.

Of why Lucifer started the hotel it was used 2 b Charlie had plans of rehabilitate sinners but Charlie gave it up ever since her mother left, seeing the demons don’t want it and luci denying her dreams to not get a trouble, it lead Lucifer the king 2 gave it a try 2 gave his daughter idea bright up, so Lucifer help al shape him out, gave him some help that made al get used 2 it and trust him making them two closer. He told al that his plans of rehabilitate months later al was healing, it made al regret of what he did 2 his ppl and what he did. So he kept the secret, he gladly help Lucifer 2 rehabilitate sinners and will be his guard since al feel like he owns him by his hospitality but Lucifer was happy he have someone who he can do this w him. So they been 2gether years and I hc them as still friends since Lucifer is mourning of his wife!

CURRENT: Since the hotel started al shows his emotions instead bottled since he mentally got better and comfortable with it now thanks with Lucifer, Lucifer was glad al came 2 his life cuz it also help him 2 get out there and make a difference. Al is very protective of Lucifer and use a rifle since human him used 2 hunt and professional of a rifle. Luci don’t need protection but he thinks it fine, Lucifer and Al r a old men qpr yaoi

But I change the injured of Al having a missing eye, it felt unoriginal and it’s giving the same backstory of vaggie so his injury’s was his chest like the Adam vs al and his horns being ripped out by vox!

🐱Chizu Mini Rant: I hate Chizu’s design in the show. Not the clothing more so the body model. I hate that they made her the stereotypical curvy cat girl with a tiny hourglass waist and tiny hands and feet. Really weird proportions, Like we’re going back to the betty boop era but no one else in the show looks like this? (Also, No hate to people who are curvy btw love you) It just doesn’t feel like it belongs in the show. Maybe if she were shorter, it would work better? Idk Also she’s like the only one in a full skin tight suit (like I get animation, but they didn’t even bother giving her implied loose clothes or armor like the other ninjas? Maybe bc she was undercover? but then she should’ve been wearing something closer to the bg character models) It’s like they’re trying to make her sexy but like why?????? for why????

I really liked the concept art of Chizu. She’s got a more sharp/rigid and square silhouette but still some curves (w/o it being weird). She still has tiny hands but her head isn’t the size of a watermelon and her face isn’t super tiny, the proportions are good. She’s all power stanced up lol She looks mean and menacing, someone not to trust or mess with. It’s literally spot on. ✨chef kiss ✨ It’s also probably why they didn’t really go with it, they probably rounded her out to be more appealing for the reveal? or she was hard to animate cause she did have baggier pants idk. Who am I, but a rando with a hard boiled egg for brains.

Art Notes: I took a lot of inspiration from the comics and I did want to keep her iconic red so she was still recognizable & stand out from the neko ninja. I made her a regular black cat! (with the idea of black cats being less likely to be adopted & be strays) (;-;) (I know she was kidnapped but still!! The stray cat vibes!!!) I gave her a more lean and tall figure, kinda like the comics but also to play off of Kistune’s height and it give scrawny stray cat vibes . . . again lol. It’s also a body shape I don’t see a lot in physically strong female characters (or maybe I do and just don’t remember? Idk but she can definitely kick your ass & she’s not here for anybody’s bullshit lol) I gave her the iconic ponytail from the comics along with the comb Kitsune usually wears. I wanted to give her green eyes (bc black cat & red and green) but i just kept them yellow. Maybe i’ll go back and change them. Her outfit is mostly inspired from Karai (bc she’s a ninja from eons ago & the gang is a little more traditional) just (pretend cuz i’m lazy) with traditional Japanese patterns. Chizu definitely got kunais and stars up her sleeves, but bc she doesn’t have to be a ninja anymore, I imagine her more into wearing pretty dresses with patterns and cute things. Stuff she never got to wear/ enjoy as a kid, you know. The show really wants to push her to be a bad ass girl boss who hates everyone and everything and is too cool and edgy for games but idk. I like to think she left the ninja stuff behind her and started living her own life based on exploring things rather than just being the cool ninja with an edgy backstory. I think she uses ninjitsu as a means of self defense but doesn’t like being connected to it b/c of the kidnapping and stuff. (We also see how she doesn’t really care about the tradition of ninjitsu cause during the show, she has no fucking clue what to do with the neko ninja, she just wanted them to stop hurting people and wanted to free the babies lol) Usagi and Kitsune are the ones who indulge her childish side. She wears a lot of red but her favorite color is pink. Kitsune def hypes her up and goes feral when she wears pink.

🦊 Kitsune Mini Rant: I hate Kitsune’s clothes in the show. Idk it just doesn’t look right on her. It’s got no shape it’s got no hiding spots for stolen goods. It’s not Kitsune. I like the concept art fit, it’s really cute. (She looks like a mini tank who will fuck you up in a cute way) but still #1 thing missing. Hiding spots for stolen goods!!! She needs some loose sleeves or flowy clothing like in the comics. (btw: I know it would be harder to animate in the show therefore I accept what they gave her but still!!!)

Art Notes: I’m not too sure about Kitsune’s fit tbh. I’m still workshopping it. She just needs something with loose sleeves! (Like she for sure is stealing shit and putting it up her sleeves, you can’t tell me i’m wrong/ it’s also where she could keep her fans!) I think i’m obsessed with her sleeves cause I imagine her gambling or playing a game of cards with a bunch of dangerous criminals and someone accuses her of cheating and she goes “What?! Me?! No, no. I’m just that good or maybe . . . you’re just that bad-” Then all the stolen cards fall out her sleeves and she just goes -fuck. and it turns into this picture vvv

ANYWAYS!!!! I gave her short hair bc idk, a girls gotta change it up sometime 💅 I actually liked her hair mimicking a fox tail but I feel like she would get bored of it and chop it all off one day. She's definitely the one who cuts and dye’s her hair at 1am then cries about it the next day. She’s got visibly longer ears and sharper face. Kitsune and Usagi wanted to get piercings together cause they’re besties and want to be edgy (she lowkey got it on her left ear to match Chizu) and so they did and Usagi’s Auntie was so PISSED lol. They got chewed out. Her hands and feet should be a little darker but i forgor. Also she’s got dark teal wrappings so it would be hard to tell anyways. I gave her the crop top with buttons from the concept art and the sleeves from the comic. They have the same maple leaf print from her comic too (i’m just lazy) and the cuffs are just lined to mimic the layers she had. She’s got her little pack, she’s also got some more smaller ones on the back (kinda like Leo). She also made a comment about not having money to buy herself shoes so . . . she’s got no shoes lol. It just wrappings under her shin guards. (no shoes just like Leo smh) It helps her be more sneaky tho >:)

Oh and they’re dating but i feel like that’s a given lol. I saw people shipping them at first and it literally went -> *sees ship* Oh they’re shipping the only two main female characters together again- yeah that’s greeeat- *Watches the show* oh. nvm I retract my sarcasm, they’re def gay for each other, thats nice. This is nice -w-

which is pretty funny, cause I think they don't like each other in the comics? (from what I saw in the singles panels I used as a reference at least) Chizu’s legit ready to kill Kitsune lol

Post Note: I totally forgot Chizu chose a bow and arrow as a weapon so now she’s just the stereotypical tall archer . . . i’m gonna go now ;-;

Gen Mini Rant: Holy Moly dudes, he was sooooo hard to draw ;-; I don't hate his design at all, actually it's one I like the most. I just don't like that there's not a lot of contrast on the 3D model and he kind just blends into a purple blob. (for me at least) I defiantly didn't do him justice but that's the best it's gonna get (from me that is.)

Art Notes: Don't look the feet . . . for any of them but mostly Gen lol. I don't really like the purple I chose but every color combo I did just looked bad idk. I can't do color, don't look at me man. Me and purple do not mix. He's still a bounty hunter so I wanted to keep his armor but I wanted him to have a long tail-coat/cape-ish jacket cause he would look cool as hell with one of those >:) (prob not practical but still) I wanted to add elbow and knee pads, but he's a rhino, he can take it. Also how can bad guys hurt him if he's too busy beating them up with his brass knuckles? He's still got his clubs but he likes clanging his fists together. lol His horn grew back! He's also got a goatee and everyone makes fun of him. The gang always threatens to shave it off in his sleep. I took more inspo from the show than the comic cause I don't really know Gen in the comics and what I did find was just miyamoto usagi but purple ;-; (clothes wise)

April’s Back Scars!!

Hello, witches and wizards! How are you doing?

This is a redesign of April with her scars. I posted a version earlier this year, but it wasn’t very good. It included a backstory and everything, but it didn’t do so well, and honestly, it wasn’t well-drawn either—that’s on me. I should’ve taken my time with it.

This redesign, though, is much better and really shows how much she has been through. April has one scar on her neck, a small one on her shoulder, two on her mid-back, and stitches on her lower back.

The scar on her right side comes from when she, Ominis, and Sebastian got trapped in the Scriptorium. The scar on her neck and the claw mark on her back are from a beast attack. The small scar on her shoulder—I’m not entirely sure why it’s there, honestly! The stitching on her lower back is from an accident where she was stabbed.

Yeah, I knew I would be brushed off as one of those genuinely racist people whose criticism of Annette begins and ends with "MUH POLITICS, MUH WOKE" without knowing shit about history or even being a fan of the games. It's still annoying :V I always, always pointed out that those people exist and they have poisoned the conversation too much. But no, scream to me about how black women deserve to be in fandoms I guess. Yeah, I know. Good thing I didn't target you, isn't it.

And as other people have pointed out in the nothes, NFCV is genuinely all sorts of -ist and -phobic, there was a huge post that blew up about the blatant antisemitic implications of a "vampire cabal" owning all the slaves, so if you really want to play white savior, the show you're defending has plenty of material already :^)

And yes. I know this is going to sound like those MUH WOKE people, but I swear I don't mean it in the same way: Castlevania is not the franchise that should deal with real life politics. Not the games, nor the show. It's about humans vs. vampires. It has always been about human vs. vampires, or any sort of monster. Yes, N!Isaac had a past of slavery, but 1) it was highly historically inaccurate, since NFCV takes place before the Transatlantic Slave Trade and slaves in that area tended to be European, 2) it was still lowkey racist, as if black people can only be slaves, as if Isaac doesn't have already an in-built backstory of being persecuted for his powers, and 3) it was, at the end of the day, an insignificant factor of NFCV's lore. It justified one antagonist's misanthropy. It wasn't the literal core of the show. Nothing about the original show, let alone the damn games, would lead me to think "mmh, I sure would love to see important, complex historical events played out in this setting!".

(N!Annette is very cute, I concur lol. A much better design than N!Isaac. I appreciate that she's dressed in yellow like the original Annette :>)

Karin: one of the few characters who glowed up in her Boruto redesign. Love the half-shaved look on her. I don't love her in canon (anyone who's obsessed w/ Sasuke gets minus points for me), but the fanon version where she's Sakura's mean lesbian GF is god-tier. I never write her, but she's fantastic. Also her backstory/power is so fucking dark and there's a lot going on there that I like very much.

Okay, Baku, I'm coming at this as a person who both watches you and plays Flight Rising, as well as someone who redesigns to fit his artstyle, since it's cartoony. I'm asking this out of curiosity. What, in your your opinion, makes people think that they're entitled to judge and scold someone for playing a game you like, but just finding the dragon designs to be generic?

Cause I love Undel's art, I truley do. I even owned one of her how to draw dragons art books when I was little, but FR has mostly Western-style dragons. It's kind of wash and repeat after a while.

see i need to preface w the backstory that this all started in 2018 when i received massive anon hate over warrior cat designs (i used to go "what if i drew the cat completely different from the canon look"). That drama is years old so i'm not digging it unless people rlly want to know, but ever since that I've never Not have someone saying my redesigns/reimaginations aren't dogshit or whatever. Idgaf she's literally goated. Had she gotten more screen time slhe would've been number 3 tbh. She's here to slay and found a way to stay her ass at home while being part of an elite Spider Squad. Women in stem

5. Jessica Drew

"But she's on Miguel's side!" And wrdgaf 🤣 she beats bitches up not just with webs but with A MOTORCYCLE!! And she's one of the only Spideys not masked Jessica is literally here to clock in, do her job, and clock out. She's #real I can't take that away from her. Bonus points for Issa Rae

6. Spot

I know. Look, I KNOW. But this is quite literally one of the most genius and thematically-coherent supervillain reveals I have ever seen in a superhero movie. HE WAS THE BAGEL GUY I WAS SO GAGGED! I left the theater and had to stare at a wall like this is excellent usage of pre-existing comic book characters to further one of the movie's messages, which is to not underestimate people!

7. Gwen Stacy

DONT GET MAD AT ME FOR PUTTING HER BELOW SPOT I CAN EXPLAIN

Okay look, she's cool. She's a punk that does ballet and she is part of the Hailee Steinfeld Cool Girl Industrial Complex. But she hasn't done anything that blows my mind yet and she clearly wasn't taking Hobie's advice like girl sjdlslk. I also doc points for pissing me off so sorry to her. On god we gon get you a girlfriend and some therapy as well 🙏🏾

8. Miguel O'Hara

Ohh brother this guy STINKS‼️ But they went sooo crazy w his character design shout out to Kris Anka. Bonus points for Oscar Isaac but minus points again for throwing a trash can at a high schooler. He only eats cafeteria food and has NO BITCHES! But upon reading about his character backstory ive decided that this guy is so unhinged and pathetic that it is now comical. Therefore I can't hate him. LEWSER

9. Peter B Parker

Sorry peepaw we're gonna have to put you down. At least Miguel can say that he has strong principles and believes in his own flimsy theory out of trauma. Miguel also doesn't really know Miles, , but Peter MENTORED HIM. Bro literally helped train living, breathing proof that anything was possible and that there was no "right" way for Spider-Man's story to go and he still let Miguel convince him otherwise. YOU HAVE A BABY THAT WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT MILES! Sir you may be a genius but you are not smart. Then he has the nerve to insult this kid's intelligence multiple times like don't piss me off. The betrayal puts him lower than Miguel because you've disappointed me peepaw 💔 and put a coat on that baby. I love him but he SUCKS

Ok I finished trigun stampede an few hours ago and um my review of the show overall: quite a few epic moments, the last episode was mostly epicness with not too many complaints, it was fun to watch. However overall the way the plot is told is needlessly packed…. we need some time to breathe! I feel like I just watched 8 season finales in a row. It just KEEPS pressing on.

Just….there’s no TIME for anything! I feel like I would not have gotten attached to the characters of Meryl and Wolfwood at ALL if I did not know them prior. I certainly did not have time to get attached to Roberto, and I feel like his screen time is basically the same as Meryl’s. Like, there’s just major event-after-major event and absolutely no time for us to get attached to characters, because almost every single one of their interactions happens when they’re under pressure, which simply doesn’t give us a well-rounded impression of them.

+ Plus points for Vash’s Stampede redesign; he looks the least like his manga counterpart but I actually think he retains his energy the most out of all the characters. It’s cute!

+ Plus points for Meryl, I liked Meryl and I can’t wait to see her in s2. She didn’t do much in this season but I think most of her scenes were really fun and actually showed a lot of character when compared to Wolfwood. Maybe that’s just me ?

- Minus points for Elendira being a child!!! And…I think not trans? Why are you nerfing one of like three women in this season AND the only LGBTQ character in the entire series!!!

* Neutral points for Brad being an adult, it was actually kinda cute bc in the manga Vash is the one who’s like “aww look how much you’ve grown ☺️”.

+ Plus points for the Vash backstory at his “Home” overall, I thought that was a real nice touch, I enjoy how they expanded on it and showed his life after the fall but before he became “the Stampede.”

- Minus points for Wolfwood bc who is that. That’s not Wolfwood that’s Dogbark. He’s just edgy and nothing else, like I’m sorry but he’s boring. In the manga he’s fun bc he’s dark but the fun from his banter doesn’t just come straight from edge, he’s a little silly and it plays off Vash. And his “edginess” is actually sensical nihilism and not Hot Topic teenage angst, as it is in Stampede.

- Also ik Nightow himself not have the greatest consistency when coloring his skin but Studio Orange you could have made him slightly visibly darker. Literally I’m pretty sure even ‘98 anime was better and his shading flip flopped a LOT in that one. Also give him his nose back! No excuses.

- Basically NO reason to introduce Livio this early on, especially since we see them for ONE episode. Like you’re just cluttering the show by introducing all the cool stuff all at once. He’s completely forgettable, simply because SO much shit happens in this show! STOP IT!!!! STOP! PLEASE! JUST GIVE US! A FUCKING! MINUTE! TO! CATCH! UP!!!!!!!!!

+ However shifting the timeline around for CERTAIN things was done well (eg Vash losing his arm at that one place instead of July). Like I’m actually pretty impressed w how they recontexualized certain things to rewrite the plot as a backstory while still maintaining cohesion.

+ I love Zazie the beast! I’m glad we see a lot of them! Plus points!

* Neutral points for making Knives the twin with more Plant powers? Like where he doesn’t eat? I have no opinions on it, just wondering why they chose to do that.

+ I like Knives bubble wrap cloak a lot! I also like the piano thing, it’s really cool.

Ummmmm ya that’s my critique. Epic stuff happens but like it’s just all epic stuff. And epic stuff with no substance is worse than no epicness at all. I would maybe say the problem is that it’s all fanservice. But idk which fan this is servicing lol. It’s like….almost like MCU? Maybe it’s Marvelization. Maybe that’s what I’m looking for. Too much cool stuff. Just show me the fucking cat or something. Give me 1 (one) funny moment. Idk.

Edit: wait one more thing. I’m sad that they didn’t make baby Knives the more outgoing/hopeful one. I really enjoyed that in the manga, bc I thought it added so much to his character.

FUCK YEAH DANGAN OC TIME!!!!!

I think she’s definitely one of my oldest danganronpa ocs who I still remember, and one of the main reasons she’s stuck w me so much is because her old design looked way too much like mahirus, so today I went ahead and attempted redesigning her, and I’m really proud of the result!!

Quick warning: by pressing READ MORE you are therefore going to be exposed to the ramblings of someone who has nothing better to do with their free time rather than explain every tiny detail & reason for their design change, you have been warned.

First off, I’d like to start this off with a really shitty drawing of her old design

After quite a bit of digging, I found a few signatures from some of my friends at the time and they’re all around October of 2019, so this was drawn approximately 3-4 years ago.

Design Choices

When comparing the old vs the new design, one of the main features I wanted to change was her role in the story, as you can spot in her old design, she originally had an ahoge, meaning that I most likely wanted her to be the protagonist of the story I was planning. However, due to an idea I’ve had for her character which otherwise she wouldn’t really be able to accomplish with that role, I’ve transferred the ahoge to one of my other ocs, who may or may not make an appearance in the near future!!

Another thing which really bugged me about her old design was the hairstyle, don’t get me wrong, ponytails are cute!! But to me it just felt a bit too plain when combined with her personality, and so I wanted to change it to the bubble braids she currently has, mainly because she’s characterised to be really social & bubbly, and so I wanted to try and incorporate that into her new design.

Finally, the biggest noticeable change about her, her clothing. The main reason I so desperately wanted to change it was simply because it felt way too mahiru & even when I first designed her, the outfits felt way too similar in my mind but I tried to brush it off, well not this time!! For her new outfit, I still wanted to keep the whole school uniform vibe, but this time I wanted to take some inspiration from kogal fashion, but if anything this is just more of my love for gyaru fashion than anything 😭😭

Backstory

I’m gonna be completely honest here, her backstory actually kinda came to me whilst I was writing the design choices bit, so bare with me if it’s a bit lacklustre. Originally, Kei had applied for hopes peaks entrance exams as one of the reserve course students, however, during the entrance exams, something about Kei stood out to the staff of hopes peak academy. In all of her test scores, she had managed to score way below average in everything apart from mathematics, in which she managed to get full marks for. And to only further this achievement, Kei had actually fallen asleep part way through the maths exam, with half an hour to spare. Therefore, the talent scouts of hope’s peak academy took a keen interest in her and brought her in for further examinations, mainly to check that she hadn’t cheated on anything. This time, they gave her a university level maths paper, in which many people within the maths field struggle to get a decent pass on, and yet once again, she had managed to score full marks & with some time to spare. Once hope’s peak realised they had an ultimate in their hands, they immediately contacted Kei’s parents to tell them the good news, and with that, she had been transferred into hope’s peak’s main course.

Personality

Like I mentioned in the design bit, Kei is a very sociable teenage girl who is willing to strike up a conversation with anyone, however, a lot of the people around her may find her to be obnoxious, as she often accidentally boasts about her ultimate, finding it idiotic how some people find math’s difficult, and can go on many random tangents about her own life, often trying to relate other people’s experiences to her own, yet this is more of her way of trying to show support for someone.

Despite her overconfidence when it comes to maths problems, she struggles intensely when it comes to other subjects, often times resulting on cheating as her only option, and even then scoring terribly low. Despite her low grades in Japanese, she does actually have a keen interest in books; romance novels especially, as she loves listening to them as she works, one of her all-time favourites being ‘So lingers the ocean’

After reading that book, she has become increasingly “boy-crazy” and often times develop crushes incredibly quickly & even tends to fawn over some of her male classmates, however, she doesn’t actually get crushes on people, and she doesn’t actually understand that you can’t choose who you like, and so she will become incredibly confused when one of her friends complain about developing a crush on someone, as she doesn’t really get why they don’t just “pick someone else”

Ngl I was gonna save this post for when I FINALLY redesigned Lu but w the state of my laptop rn and my abundance of projects I've gotten impatient and I love her and keep talking about her lately sooo

Backstory

Iris Meier was born into the beginnings of a less than ideal situation; a poor family in the more lower class area of Amerton. By the time her younger brother Aster was one, her father had already left the house, forcing her older brother Sage to have to step up and be the man of the house while their mother, Cecilia, neglected them. She never really learnt to care for her mother’s coldness, however; Sage more than made up for that with how much he tried. That didn’t really stop it from completely affecting her, however.

Her mother was like extra baggage. Even if she was in the background of her life for the most part, she still caused extra problems for the family, her drinking habits taking a toll on the money Sage earned to support his siblings. Over time… She really did start to see how messed up her home situation was.

And it kinda hurt.

Still, they had to live with it. It was difficult for Sage to move out and be able to have custody over his siblings, so they had no choice but to stay. At least their mother was usually out during the day a lot, typically wasting away at a local tavern.

But one day, while Iris was home alone, Cecilia came back earlier than expected.

She was drunk. And angry. Spotting Iris, she stormed over to her, and started verbally berating her, taking out all her frustration with her “failed” life on her. She’d never seen her mother like this. It scared her. Unsure what to do and panicking, she ran off - but Cecilia went after her, wildly knocking things over along the way. She reached the fourteen year old with ease, and tackled her towards the ground. Iris wasn’t sure what to do - was she… going to kill her? It was uncertain… but could her mother be capable of such a thing? And then, in a moment of weakness, she grabbed one of the shattered objects off of the ground… and slit her mother’s throat.

Blood spilled everywhere.

As Iris got up, she froze, watching her mother choke on the ground. It was like she stopped working as she struggled to process what was happening. Soon enough, however, Cecilia gave out her last breath - leaving a disgusted Iris alone with her thoughts. What would Sage say? How would he even react? What’s going to happen now?

Did she really deserve that?

Her legs carried her out of the house and into the woods as the world spun around her. She doesn’t know exactly how long she hid. Days? A week? She was too panicked to really think about it, hiding in bushes and madly trying to clean blood off of herself with filthy water from puddles during all that time. It was one evening however, after a good few days, when two particular individuals finally found her. Remus Ramobus and Julianne Bougainvillea.

They’d apparently gone out for Jules to do a reading of the stars that evening, when they came across the young girl, Jules picking up on the smell of blood. Sympathising with her, due to their shared background of being orphans and assuming she could be one (perhaps traumatised from a troublesome incident), they brought her back to stay at Remus’s extra apartment, where Jules had apparently been hiding out due to her curse. She’d end up staying after she warmed up to them; which was no easy feat. They’d been calling her “the kid” the entire time because she seemed so shaken up to talk.

When she finally gave them a name, she gave them the answer of Luculia.

On a different note I made a retrospring bc only tumblr got asks and drew an icon for it at the end of last month. I really need to draw more I barely do it nowadays while child me went wild. Prob bc doodling in school just felt different jsk.

Ig meet the oc, prior insert, that I got since forever where my username everywhere comes from. Zoe's design never changed really and no thoughts behind it tbh. Ibis paint x says it took ~4 ½ hours and yes I drew it w my finger bc I don't got a drawing tablet (had one that I never used ages ago and now can't find parts of it rip). I'm really glad I finally found outhow the fuck I wanna draw eyes. I saw such shapes a lot lately and oughh I love em.

Originally a sonic oc (right one from a drawfee santa exchange ages ago, sadly the links don't work anymore idk if the artist is still called eirress who made it bc mine dipped). Love her and reg in that universe do I put the most thought in reg backstory and whatnot. As human pretty much just a representative of my accounts. She had so many fucking redesign in this universe. V much evil adjacent. Wolf even tho looks more like a fox but I didn't want to draw the snout like the official ones and puffy tail superiority so here we are. Still obsessed w how huge the tail is on the right like yes.

Literally the only thing that changed reg the human design is the hair palette and me not being sure if I really want those pink lines so that was always a yes/no thing. Plus eyes more now like by sonic w being more magenta than purple (drawing from ages ago when I doodled a lot in school). Tbh hair is still kinda "whatever I dig rn" esp when I recreate her in picrews.

Came a long way for sure look at these old ass drawings. The amy hung in our school class (like what first or second grade) which was v sweet from our teacher 🥺. Istfg I got accused of tracing as a child a fuck ton when I didn't even knew how to do that on paper and by some like here am I just like you can't be serious sjksk. Most I did is have a pic next to me and trying to recreate it like those two (a lot w fanart which I will never share bc duh) which I can imagine a lot did.

Honestly let me be salty for a moment oh my GOD some beings are sooo annoying and so fucking . how do I say this . I just KNOW how they put conventionally attractive beings or characters or both above those who are nawt conventionally attractive . Rant under the cut I'm angy

So what tf am I on about ? MY HUSBAND . THE WAY THE FANDOM HAS TREATED HIM I SWEAR TO GODDDDDD .

Blue-haired S1 Shi was treated so gross by so many and if I had a dollar every time I read somebun being ableist back then I'd have had a small fortune . I had chuckled at the crusty jokes a little , because I was young and hadn't read up about BFRBs (body-focused repetitive behaviors , such as compulsive hair ripping or in his case , skin picking) , skin conditions and was generally less mature but even then it felt odd how nobody really . . . Talked about him aside from that , and like , maybe one other topic I'll get to in a sec with minimal conversation about anything else !

Of course I perhaps wasn't looking at certain sides of the fandom , and I have no doubt a small group of beings genuinely liked him / talked about him and his backstory / wrote things that weren't just sexua.lization but the loud majority on this was like this , y'know ? It was all "haha crusty ewww stinky" n shit like that , or the occasional "degenerate gamer [insert pure sexua.lization here]" but I never recall seeing more than maybe a handful of genuine appreciation for him , or curiosity / concern for his backstory .

And then came white-hair Shi , which I suppose I could blame some of what I'm about to talk about on the fact this change also came with him having a big moment w Chis.aki , but when it happens to this scale I cannawt provide that much benefit of the doubt .

I suddenly saw so many more beings start loving him , and although I'm happy it led to others opening their eyes on a character whom I truly love it all felt weird . Out went the insults and disgust , and immediately came so much love . But I'm nawt even really sure if that's the right word .

With all this sudden positivity , a lot of writing or art or whatever containing certain themes suddenly popped up . Beings who would talk down about him now seemed to still find him disgusting , but in a way that could please them . I have no issue with writing works like that , however , being who's apparently actually reading this ?? , it feels a bit upsetting to watch others only like uur favorite character because they can write him as some kind of massive , violent pervert .

I don't know I'm just so salty because I've loved him since way , way before he had that redesign . I love how he looks with his white hair , and it's what he was always meant to have , but I can't help but always think about how it's a safe bet to believe that lots of those who have accounts full of only thirst for him and claim to be his fans were also probably throwing around insults and making fun of him for his hygiene a few years ago .

Also like . Insert that one post that goes if uu claim to be a fan of a character but only care about them when uu can sexu.alize them uu are nawt a fan of that character . Okay . That's all I just had to get this off my chest bc I genuinely care so much about this for no reason and need somewhere to put it lol .

Which character has been through the most design changes?

Probably Koda and Maeja, just because they're the characters I've had the longest! A lot of the time my characters will have an original design I just throw down and then I'll redesign them around a year later when I have a clearer image of them in my head, but I'm just never satisfied with these designs. Probably cause I don't want them to stand out too much, they're supposed to be numbers in a system and that's why I design them with uniforms now as well. But I like that Koda has a design indicative of his backstory and that Mae gives I'm not like other girls because it contradicts their personalities: Koda doesn't want evidence of his life on him and Mae wants to be like other girls.

Their designs thus have gone through just a lot of little tweaks for the sake of making them look like both normal people and anime girls. Both of them got darker skin and curlier hair than their original designs just to get that out of the way #pocficationbeam.

Koda's hair didn't always cover his eyes, it's a visual metaphor for blissful ignorance now. It fully covers his eyes as a child, one eye through high school, and once they've found their home, it covers neither. His outfit has changed a hundred times, I liked the wide neck sweater because it looked scholarly but with a scar on his neck, a turtleneck both dulls down that main character energy by hiding it and fits him better because he wouldn't show it off. I've also changed the number of scars on his face and the placement, he didn't always have them on his face but I liked that he couldn't hide them. The knife wound was always there, but the burn scar used to be just a regular burn for realism. I changed it to a lichtenberg figure because even though those don't scar, it suits him to have the shape of his more visible scar be indicative of his power, the trauma he can talk about.

Mae's outfit was the core of my issues w her, the black hoodie was far too simplistic and pairing it w skinny jeans just wasn't. like emo enough. the blue shirt and black leather jacket has been in the mix for a while because the dark colours suit her and the leather jacket represents an outer layer of her personality, but it just doesn't always seem right? I feel like she wouldn't want to put all of that on, again it also makes her stand out beside Noah and Koda who both wear colour. So her fit is even still up in the air but I want to give her a dress. Her hair is another thing that gave me trouble, I certainly think she'd want it to obscure her face and that's what her first pass was like, but she also needs to have her eyes visible from a design standpoint bc she controls souls, and she does this by connecting with people either physically or emotionally. She can't connect w people w her eyes obscured, so her hair is pulled back sloppily bc I feel like she wouldn't care to make it neat. The newest additions to her design again make her stand out as a main character but are symbolic: the flowers in her hair. They were given to her by Noah and Koda to cheer her up and represent her ability to leave her past behind and grow anew. Koda gave her bluebells (gratitude and love, i imagine this is the nicest thing he's ever done for her) and Noah, not knowing anything about plant symbolism, gives her some nearby dandelions (represent regrowth and strength, two things she's struggling to achieve).
