After being absent for 10 years of their lives, Bruno attempts to amend things with his nieces and nephews. Hopefully, it all goes according to plan.

Prologue: Mirabel and Julieta

Casita Madrigal was calm and quiet. Members were either lounging about the house or resting in their respective rooms, and they were all relaxing after another day’s work of busy chores. It was safe to say that they were all exhausted, yet still satisfied with what they had been able to do around the community that hectic day.

A cool summer breeze glided throughout the home and lightly touched those that it happened to come across, right from the front door all the way to the kitchen, where three people were cleaning up after dinner.

“Mirabel, could you pass me that cup over there please?” Julieta asked her youngest, who reached over for the glass, but her tío Bruno beat her to it.

“I got it!” he happily exclaimed. Julieta and Mirabel giggled slightly at his enthusiasm over retrieving a simple cup. “What?” he asked, confused at their reaction.

“Oh, nothing, nothing,” replied Mirabel, sharing a quick look with her mamá. Bruno passed the cup to his older sister, who added it to her pile of dishes in the sink. As Mirabel helped dry the pots, pans, plates, cups and cutlery that had already been cleaned, she assisted her tío by showing him where everything was kept and slowly but surely, he was getting the hang of it.

“And this one goes…”

“There! On the bottom shelf,” Bruno answered with a smile, pointing to the second cupboard from the right.

“Yeah! You got it,” Mirabel praised him, handing him the bowl so that he could put it there himself.

Just as Bruno was putting it away, Isabela poked her head from around the corner. “Hello!”

“Hola, mi flor. Is everything okay?” Julieta asked her eldest daughter.

“Everything’s great mamá!” Isabela said happily. “Do you know if there are any small bowls that I could borrow?”

“What for?”

“To put some dye in.”

Bruno and Mirabel looked at each other with a confused expression, then to Julieta, who seemed to know exactly what Isabela was talking about. She picked up some bowls, stacked like a tower and held them up.

“Are these okay?”

“They’re perfect,” said Isabela. She squeezed past Bruno and Mirabel, excusing herself politely, making her way over to her mamá.

After asking how many were needed, Julieta handed four bowls to her daughter, who then thanked her gleefully and scurried off back to her room.

“What does she need them for again?” Bruno inquired curiously, after the young woman had left.

“Plant dye,” Julieta answered, without looking up from the dishes she was washing.

“Plant dye?”

“Yeah. She’s redecorating her room,” Mirabel added. Bruno muttered a quiet, ‘Oh,’ as he looked up to his sobrina’s door that flickered brightly, like a candle burning and thriving with life.

Looking back for a second, Julieta saw her brother looking up to what she assumed to be Isabela’s door. “Bruno,” she started. Bruno looked her way. “Have you had the chance to talk with the rest of your other nieces and nephews yet?”

At first, Bruno opened his mouth, about to give a confident yes.

“As in had a proper conversation, not just a simple hello.”

But, he quickly retracted, realising that he actually hadn’t.

“Maybe you should try,” suggested Mirabel. “It would be good for you to get to know them all better, not just me. They’re all still a part of the family after all, and you are their tío.”

Finished with her washing, Julieta wiped her hands on her apron and turned to Bruno. She nodded in agreement with her youngest.

“Maybe I should,” Bruno said, “But I don’t know. Wouldn’t it be a bit awkward? Especially with the older children?”

“Possibly, but every conversation and every relationship has to start somewhere,” Mirabel said. “As long as you’re trying, they’ll notice the effort, trust me. And they’ll be grateful for it. Not a single one holds a grudge against you. What reason would they have to have one?”

“Maybe due to the fact that I suddenly left them for ten years?” Bruno replied plainly, but Mirabel shook her head.

“That’s all in the past now. They’ll forgive you for it, believe me, if they haven’t already.”

Bruno met his niece’s kind, warm brown eyes that had always reminded him of sweet honey, and then to his older sister’s that held a similar shade and feeling. How fortunate was he to have such loving people in his life, especially after everything.

His heart burned with gratitude for the two women, and he hoped that the smile he gave them reflected his constant thanks.

“I promise I’ll try,” he said to Mirabel, who grinned warmly.

And Julieta smiled at the two of them.

- Chris has literally no desire to decorate a place

- in his mind, it's a place he eats and sleeps so why should he get it all fancy for?

- then you moved in with him and basically decided he needed...what was the word...life in his house

- you asked him all kinds of questions like what kind of sports teams he liked, what were his favorite colors yada yada

- then you put it all up

- you even had a whole wall for things he liked

- you put some stuff up of your own and got him to help paint the walls

- he thought it was more work then what it was worth honestly but you got to hang out together

- he even got to see you shirtless so it was a win win for him

- he also got shirtless. come on those muscles cannot be contained

- plus he had to admit, he liked what you did with the place even if he had no mind for decoration

- he liked that it looked like you mixed with him

- don't ask him to go shopping with you though

Leon Kennedy

- Leon's place isn't even clean let alone decorated

- he has some posters up, a couple art pieces but that's about it

- so you naturally asked him if you could spruce up the place

- at first he was like no because he liked his place. it was simple. he liked simply

- but on the other hand, it could use some renovating

- you promised just some stuff would change and you always ran it by him first

- his favorite bit was putting together furniture because you hated it and watching you struggle for an hour before asking for his help was a great pastime

- he helped you do it all, even if he complained a bit

- he held your hips while you climbed up to paint the walls

- 'Leon I can steady myself'

- 'I don't care'

- drama king at his finest

- and he loves the way it looks when it's all said and done

- he gets to say that you put it all up together and he loves that

One random fact about me | I have really bad allergies and have to get weekly shots. Top things I’m allergic to: Dogs, cats, literally anything outside, simply existing causes me to sneeze and sniffle. I’ve been taking allergy meds every day for almost 10 years consistently. 

Why’d I start this blog? What got me into writing? | I’ve been writing for such a long time (9/10 years now) I honestly have several reasons I write. One big one is how comforting it is to me. I never had many friends growing up, even now I really don’t have a whole lot, and when life gets stressful and I need somewhere to turn to, it’s always been writing. It’s been a big way to get my feelings out when I otherwise tend to brush them aside. I started this blog a year ago now because after a sad break from writing, I decided that I wanted to get my writing out somewhere again even if nobody ever saw it. I wrote a bit on Wattpad when I was younger, but nothing all too good, so I started my first side-blog and eventually moved here to this blog! 

My followers are a big inspiration to write as well. Sometime’s I get messages/asks telling me that my writing helps them with their depression or keeps their mind off of life when it gets hard and I really want to cry every time. I really couldn’t ask for a better fanbase. It’s so comfortable and safe here, and it always will be.

I'm doing alright! failing at nanowrimo is basically my state of being rn lol but other than that life is pretty okay lol it's so funny how that answer can change week to week. or even day to day. the beginning of my november sucked ass mentally, but idk I'm feeling relatively out of that now, which is nice, but also hard bc I have multiple friends who are going through the ringer rn and I can't be there for them even though im emotionally more in a position to be yk?

as season six begins - with the propaganda being spread like that ba picture hasn't been in betty's room since when they first redecorated it in season five - i made a decision about my involvement with this fandom.

i'm not gonna follow bts so closely anymore and i'm not gonna try to get ahead with spoilers and such. i really want to try to enjoy this show without having to decipher every little thing someone says or posts. that includes cast, crew, source blogs, etc. things are changing in my personal life too, so i definitely won't be around *as much* (still around though!) and i have faith that no matter what happens varchie is in it to win it.

i still want to answer things for you guys, don't get me wrong! i'm just taking a step away from speculating and theorizing because it took a toll on my mental health for real, it made me very anxious at points, and no one wants that. i'll comment episodes and etc and i'm grateful for you guys, but i won't answer questions like "do you think we're gonna get scenes?" or "omg not the ba picture" or "b*rchies think this", like, really, i cannot do this anymore.

heyyy !!! i've mostly been hanging out on my personal blog... sorry it's felt like i've been mia. i usually try to log on here once in a while to answer asks and stuff (same on twt) but i haven't received many lately so i guess i've let this blog go a bit uh? i'm sorry, i've actually missed chatting with you guys.

i've been... okay? a bit stressed in general. i'm slowly getting ready to go back to work and that comes with..... a lot of anxiety so that's :/// but in general things have been good i think? i haven't been very productive re: writing/reading which is always a huge disappointment for me tbh. but i've been slowly working on reorganizing and redecorating my bedroom, so that's been really fun. bought a new duvet cover cos mine was falling apart and got some cute cushions to match. kept my louis ' bedtime for me' one tho cos that one is Top Tier.

finally got my underwood 1917 typewriter into my hands (it was a bday present but she was a couple hours away from me) so she's queen of my space now and has a great displaying spot:

also got a cute green velvet chair to make a little reading/writing nook in the corner of my bedroom. it's just been the best so far, i love it!

AND i finally put up my star wars embroideries on my wall so there's no question as to whether i'm a massive nerd or not:

so yeah, i've been busy working on my Interior Designer credentials i guess haha. as you can see, i don't believe in minimalism rip.

what else ?? my dad brought me a box of old childhood/high school stuff recently too so it's been fun to go through those memories! i found all my old synchronised swimsuits and turns out even with the ~quarantine 15, i still fit in most of them. after like.... 16 years. which is actually kind of wild ??? but yeah lots of cringe journals and old CDs and stuff! found a fucking FLOPPY DISK ???? with what i think is old star wars fanfiction me and my high school best friend were working on (according to whats written on it at least ????). A FLOPPY DISK GUYS. I AM ANCIENT !!!! i truly wish i had something to READ IT because i bet it's the most cringy shit ever hahaha. i also found all my old revenge of the sith movie tickets which got me really emo because i'm star wars/rots TRASH and i've always been lol.

what else? what else? i've been binging narcos? mostly because pedro pascal is super hot, but also because it's really good if slightly upsetting in nature. so that's been fun (tho not relaxing). also slowly trying to get my dad into supernatural, which.... i'm not sure how he feels about it but he's powering through s1 haha. we shall see 👀👀👀

today, unfortunately, my stepdad's family is coming over for dinner, which my introverted antisocial ass is not happy about, but i'm gonna be making some cream cheese brownies and an apple crumble for it later this afternoon so that should be Fun/Relaxing at least.

and yeah, honestly that's it. there's not been much going on tbh? i don't really keep up too much with 1d fandom rn tbh, but i try to catch a few gifs from harry's tour because i do miss stage harry. even tho i still think pandemic touring is dumb af !

this is probably more update than you actually wanted, i'm sorry. i guess i felt like rambling today uh ??? rip.

Time for a short but fun list of our pets. There'll only be one fish. For now.

This is Nettle (Sir Edward Nettle). She's almost 2, she's a shi tzu, and we got her because I clearly was struggling after the loss of my previous dog.

She's also an idiot. No brain cells in that head.

This is Dory (Adoryborous). She's going to be 6 this year! I've known her since she was 3 weeks old. She's our resident cryptid. If she shows you her belly, it's a trap. But she likes to sleep on our hips. Also, since moving in with Brier, she's learned to enjoy the taste of human food. And coffee. Much to B's dismay.

Our queen, Cesca (Francesca). She is B's ESA like Nettle is mine, and thus both pets are more attached to their respective anxious person. Don't let her elegance full you. She's a former barn cat turned indoors. Her previous owners said she wasn't affectionate at all, but she will literally fall off the bed to go after your hand for pets. She also is the main food thief. And she's finally getting used to me!

Okay last two for now. Dandelion is our newest boy. He's fearless. Dory tapped on the glass half of his home and he just stood there. He's also a master redecorator.

And Charlie the common pleco is an adoption from our fave LFS. He was surrendered by his previous owner who raised him from when he was the size of a quarter. The guy really loved Charlie but couldn't take him with. So now he's in our big tank you can see a bit in my videos!

Synopsis ~ Liz and George find their marriage license and discover that instead of “George H. Cooper,” it says “George C. Hooper.” Now Liz is convinced that she and George aren’t legally married!

Synopsis ~ Katie, the Maid, is sweet on Mr. Dabney, the butcher, and Liz offers to help. But when Liz’s Valentine to George gets switched with her check to pay the butcher’s bill, Mr. Dabney gets the wrong idea.

Synopsis ~ Liz goes to see a doctor about her absentmindedness, and then reports her car to be stolen when she forgets that George dropped her off at the doctor! Liz takes a memory course. It works in reverse and she ends up with amnesia and George finds himself in jail.

Synopsis ~ George's mother comes to visit. Liz hopes to drive her out by spreading ragweed and other allergy-inducing plants around the house, but her plan backfires when George's mother starts dating her allergist.

Gale Gordon and Bea Benaderet, do not play the Atterburys in this program. Bea Benaderet plays George's mother, and Gale Gordon plays George's mother's boyfriend.

“Charity Revue” (aka “Red Cross Benefit Revue”) ~ March 11, 1949

Synopsis ~ Mr. Atterbury asks George to work up a song and dance routine for the local Red Cross Charity Review. At the same time Liz’s women’s club recruits her to perform.

Synopsis ~ Liz keeps stepping on George's punch lines during an evening with the Atterburys. George finally puts his foot down, and Liz promises from then on to obey his every command. Things are going fine until George somehow gets the mistaken idea that Liz is so upset with this news that she is planning to run off with the Atterburys' chauffer.

“April Fool’s Day” ~ April 1, 1949 

Synopsis ~ As an April Fool’s joke, Liz plans to plant a lipstick-smeared handkerchief in George’s coat pocket.

“Gum Machine” (aka “The Principal of the Thing” aka “Demand Your Rights”) ~  April 9, 1949 

Synopsis ~ George tells Liz that she needs to stand up for her rights and stop letting people push her around. So when Liz loses a penny in a broken gum machine, she vows to get her penny back no matter what the cost.

“Horseback Riding” (aka “Liz Takes Horseback Riding Lessons”) ~ April 15, 1949

Synopsis ~ George’s female co-chair for his horseback riding club’s upcoming weekend breakfast ride has Liz so jealous that she’s determined to overcome her fear of horses and learn to ride herself.

“Time Budgeting” (aka “George and His Trained Seals”) ~ April 22, 1949 

Synopsis ~ George is so fed up with Liz’s being late for everything that he puts her on a strict schedule.

“Liz in the Hospital” (aka “Liz Goes To The Hospital”) ~ May 27, 1949 

Synopsis ~ The doctor pays a house call to see what’s wrong with George, and discovers that Liz needs to have her tonsils removed!

“Hair Dyed” (aka “Liz Gets Her Hair Dyed”) ~ June 10, 1949 

Synopsis ~  After George warning Liz about the dangers of idle gossip, Liz’s chatty and absent-minded hair stylist forgets what she’s doing and mistakenly dyes Liz’s hair black. Nobody recognizes Liz, so she decides to flirt with George to test his fidelity. Gossip about Liz and George spreads all over town.

The first part was the basis for the “I Love Lucy” episode “The Gossip” and the second half inspired “The Black Wig”

“Television” (aka “George Ruins a Neighbor’s TV” aka “The Television Suit”) ~ June 17, 1949 

Synopsis ~ Liz and George’s visit to their next-door neighbors, the Stones, turns into a disaster when George tries to repair the Stones’ new television set by himself.

Little update

Hi friends! Molly here. Time continues to fly with three little ones!! Luke & Lessie are so adorable and continue to keep me on my toes! Margot is getting so big and I know soon my baby won't be a baby anymore! *frowny face*

You may have noticed but we painted our bedroom!! The redecorating is coming along and we've been praying and saving up money to buy a new bed as ours is very old and we often wake up with sore backs!!! Again, there's a link on our blog to donate and every little bit helps!!! <3

I've been feeling very nauseous lately and I have a feeling we might have another little one on the way!! I'll keep everyone updated but we would feel so blessed to welcome another baby to our family!!!!!!

Are you enjoying their current storylines and their scenes at the moment ? And is there any other storyline you wish to see for them in the future (as a couple or as individual characters) ?

hey!! im doing a little better today, thank you!! i'm so happy you like my blog though, that's really sweet of you to say, thank you <3

honestly, ive been having a bit of trouble keeping up w ee of late, between the olympics being on almost constantly and life being busy, but some of the scenes ive seen have definitely been so so wonderful - namely some of the stuff around paul's killer getting released. i think the scene between phil, callum and ben (do you think he'd be proud of me?) is probably up there with one of my favourite scenes. i genuinely just think it was so beautifully put together, and the script was absolutely stunning. that combined with max bowden's absolute masterclass in emotional acting and i was sobbing on my sofa. genuinely, was completely in love with that scene. i've written a post or two about it already because i was, ahem, rather emotional after watching it, but yeah genuinely i just thought that scene was stunning.

in terms of the future, like a lot of people have said i desperately want them to move out and get their own place. like, desperately. sure, i love the flat bc of all the memories it has, and yeah, in an ideal world stuart, rainie and vi would move out and they would just keep the flat and redecorate it (is that an unpopular opinion? i just really love the flat and like the significance of the housewarming callum had with whit compared to him making a home there with his husband would mean a lot to me. also i just think it's got a nice layout and like its pretty, if you strip the awful wallpaper. is that just me? idk) but as long as they get their own place, they could literally live anywhere. i have hope that, with the new set coming in - whenever that is - they're maybe going to be making use of some of the unmentioned houses around the square, and giving us a completely new set/house for ben and callum (and honestly lexi and lola bc where tf are they actually living right now im so concerned???) because i think that would make sense, and they're likely to be bringing some new places in with such a big revamp of the set, so why not give ben and callum their own place?

and, just because it would satisfy my angst-loving heart, i would love to see how they deal with more institutionalised homophobia as a couple. like, if they deal with it getting their new place or something like that - like, homophobia aside from the obvious slurs and judgement at a bar, or on the street. they've both experienced that and im glad ee have showed it, but i would love if it was something they explored as part of a more long term sl, especially now that they would be dealing with it as husbands, and as a stronger family unit. i just think that could be interesting.

and sure, it wouldnt happen, but if ballum could talk about adpoting/fostering another kid i would... lose my mind (ik it wont happen but just... imagine)

also, for them as individual characters, i would always love for ee to explore both of their seperate traumas, and the mental health issues that they both deal with. tony and max are both such incredible emotional actors and i think a sl like this would always be incredibly well done by them, so it's always something i would welcome with open arms

(also ee if u fancy doing me a favour... maybe... paramedic callum??? for me??? pls???)
