The Hungarian revolution of 1956
Yes. This was today. On the 23rd of October.
So what happened? Since in Hungary nobody ACTUALLY cares about this, they mostly just think it’s an extra free day or whatever, I decided to make a memorial post because this is history that’s worth remembering.
The revolution started on the 23rd of October and ended on the 12th of November after the soviet tanks arrived. It was only 12 days. Thousands were killed, most of them died without a name to remember.
After the revolution, no one was allowed to talk about what happened on those days. If they found any proof, flyers, weapons in someone’s home, the ÁVH made sure they disappeared.
My father found the proof of his grandfather fighting in the revolution. He found out that he was sued for having a gun with him on that day. I have never met my grandfather, I wish I could.
If you want to know more of this you should watch the movie, Children of glory (I think it’s on HBO but I’m not sure)
And thank you for reading this.

It's sort of weird to explain, but i feel like it is xenophobic of north americans to treat south americans terrible on the basis that we make "racist" jokes. Because it has become something of a cultural artifact down here, we make jokes about asian people and jewish people and so on :3 and it is a beautiful tradition that i feel gets me discriminated from even tolerant spaces. This feels especially hypocritical of north americans when taking into account how their governments have been the ones responsible for the most harm (by far) to other peoples! It looks like yet another branch of twisted western ideology seeping into every culture, and i will not let it happen >:3
United States, you may manage to take our land, our economic independence, our country, but you will never take our racist jokes >>>:3

"Do you believe in spirits?"
"For tonight, yes, I believe in spirits."
A huevember based on @justherefornothing1 's fic for the mcyt Halloween event. This phrase lives rent free in my mind I just had to make something about it.

Stay, I Pray You
No, 'cause like, 'Stay, I Pray You' is just the saddest song I have ever heard. I'm crying my eyes out.
To leave one's country is sad in itself, even if it was something that one wants to do. To leave one's country while knowing one might never come back is just devastating.
I become the most patriotic I could be while hearing that song.

happy July fourth!! Today’s a day to remember why America has a president and not a king. The recent Supreme Court decision giving presidents full immunity goes against that fundamental principle of the country. The only way to keep our country a democracy is by voting. Nothing is gained by refusing to vote, if Trump wins he will form a dictatorship.
