Spring Break Recap - with pictures :)

the day we got off my friends and I went out to town and went to the beach. (so so grateful for where I live)

my (not so baby anymore) cousin visited from Switzerland! we did so many things since this is the first time she had come to Scotland, she is such a bookworm so me and my dad bought her some books from Waterstones. Love her sm :)

Wrote a letter to my school teacher about joining an abroad programme. I really hope I get in as I honestly believe it would be life changing. this was a draft dw! didn't look this scruffy on the final one :P

Cat shelter volunteering (I didn't get any photos of the shelter as I felt that would be inappropriate) this was on the way back though and I thought It looked magical. forever grateful for the scenery around me.

Played around with my new keyboard. It's a Casio and I love it sm, it was gutted by my uncle and auntie from Switzerland. I partially learned Chemtrails Over The Country Club by Lana Del Rey.

My friends birthday party!!! we did pottery painting and I got to paint a highland cow :D got ice cream (yum) and went to the park after.

Started reading the Bhagavad Gita. For those who are not aware, the Bhagavad Gita is a Hindu epic scripture that is part of a larger collection of works known as the Mahabharata. The Mahabharata is a Sanskrit epic consisting of over 100,000 shloka (a form of long prose passage) fully forming in to about 1,800,000 (1.8 mil) words and is approximately ten times the length of the Iliad and the Odyssey combined. The length explains why most only read smaller portions such as the Bhagavad Gita which is in fact a poem! ok I could talk about this forever but I hope that someone learned something new from my spiel :P.

Other stuff I did

-Reorganised my note taking and filing system (I could make a whole post about that)

-looked through all my subject specifications to get a feel of how many topics were are (and sub topics... and sub sub topics :,) )

-painted a mini canvas for my friend (dw that wasn't the only thing I got for her birthday)

-did some sketching (my artistic ability comes in waves)

-played Roblox, idc If its childish SUE ME (I am undefeated in paintball 🥱)

-did my extracurriculars (Sangeet and Bengali)

-Celebrated Poyla Boishakh and Vhaisakhi

Goals for new term

-study at least an hour on weekdays

-ace my sangeet exam

i'm not even joking, johnny off pirate fm raised me. and their little segments, omg! i'm so good at where are we to it's not even real, and daytime in the duchy is the best programme ever. and before you ask, pirate's been bred into me. so much that ik their hotline number. 01209313900 just in case you were wondering. and you can get a pirate windscreen sticker. genius.

about that ILA episode - yeah, there’s a lot of factors that result in a lower rating. dy’s part of the episode aired second, after the first part where one of the panelists was hanging out with a photographer. i enjoyed it but there are lots of comments on yt under clips from that part that it’s boring, unimaginative, criticizing the panelist, etc., so this might have turned people off from watching the show. secondly, male idols aren’t interesting to the gp. there were comments that want to see more famous or interesting celebs than some sm idol. tbh, as i was watching dy’s part i had wondered if this would even be interesting to non-fans, lol.

dy episode clips have all surpassed the clips from the part with the panelist, they have more views, likes comments. dy’s kind act also trended on k-forums and on twitter and he has real life influence on the restaurant he went to - business will go up as fans will want to visit as well. i wouldn’t worry about ratings, that’s for tv producers to do.

Well I read Knet comments on the last ILA ep. The low rating was a hot topic but the fact DY prepared gift was also a hot topic today. The reasons for the low rating, from what I read can be: a new rival program, the ep overall was not too great (the fixed cast first part was quite awkward), it was a night with great weather so ppl went outside a lot, many ppl like the guests doing more "exciting" things so DY can be boring to them (otherwise, many finds him comforting). Actually DY concept (or any idol, even Ahn Jaehyun is labelled as boring) in ILA can get kinda repetitive (doing something and going to eat or to the market) so I think it's better off for him as a semi-fix, coming as panelist sometimes and having one ep in a while rather than coming out too often.One of fixed cast, Kian94, who is considered more interesting than DY to a part of the viewers, can be really annoying and disturbing to watch because of his untidy and unhygienic habits. He was also criticized in a recent ep. Hwasa, who went viral thanks to ILA, decided to leave the program because of the self-pressure of being entertaining without faking herself. When it comes to variety, you always have to face with these problems.One thing for sure, DY is loved by the crew and gained new fans and opportunities from this.

Thank you for the context, anons. I would say, Doyoung's strategy of creating a sweet image for this show can backfire, but it won't harm in a long run. He will read the comments, think his actions over, try something new. As he always does. He adjusts, repeats what works, drops what doesn't. Even very seasoned show producers and old variety stars have missteps. It is super hard to interest a big mass of very different people. Additionaly, Doyoung aims for the national son, not a funny comic. He will interest the group that are succectable to his charms or what he portrays. As people discussing him doing this or saying that on inet demonstrates.

And the comment about Hwasa is very true. People have endless sources of entertainment. It becomes harder and harder to catch attention and make people stay. And any format becomes repetitive. What have worked before for one artist won't be possible to recreate for another one. Doyoung might need to learn that what works for k-pop fans, doesn't for gp. Or that it is more useful for him to go on shows where he can show his smart and his wit. Right now he is just entering the field and takes any job he is offered. Considering all these shows have the same people on them, when it comes to conenctions, it is still very good and profitable for him. One of the pannelist of this show already invited him to come to her own show (that upcoming yt programme with DoWoo).

Anyway. With situations like these it is useful to mark the event, commit it to the memory in case it will be important later, and not involve oneself emotionally. Media outlets need to sensationalise everything, and people on qoo need to chat about something daily.

Anyway, given that something very obviously bad happened, hope's peak decided to keep everything very hush hush - they just say she dropped out, refuse to answer questions from the student body, Chiaki is in the care of former ultimates, and none of 77-B know she lived. Anyway, once they're captured by ff, Chiaki wants to see the remnants once again. No one in the upper management wants this to happen, but Makoto believes it could help them out. So one day he sneaks Chiaki down to where the remnants are and takes her to Nagito - since they were partners before despair, he thinks she'll have the strongest 'hope' effect on him. It... Kinda works! However, it also makes Nagito have a liiiitle bit of a breakdown, coming to terms with the fact all this despair was built on a lie, and so the neo world programme still has to go ahead. But hey! This time, Chiaki doesn't die and neither does anyone in class 78! Yaaaay!

Note(s): Eyy, first fic of the year!! I hope y’all don’t mind a little snow in July- I thought this would be a sweet prompt, and I’m happy with how this turned out, especially since this is the first thing I’ve written in months! (y/n) had been born hard of hearing at birth and she’d lived that way for most of her life. That changed when, sometime after college, she decided a cochlear implant would benefit her. She’d stashed away almost all her wages, and with the generous help of her girlfriend, she’d finally finally saved enough to cover the costs of the surgery. She got it mid-February, just after Valentines day, and by mid-March she was ready for the programming of her implant. 

Hearing was… surreal. The second sound finally began to filter in she’d teared up and gasped. Her jaw had dropped upon realizing that clocks ticked??? She’d always thought that was just an exaggeration in literature, but no, that was, in fact, a real and very hearable thing. Val had taken her hand and laughed along with her, while the programmer in front of her had smiled on.

Hearing only continued to become a wonderful development. 

For the next few days, (y/n) took the time to acquaint herself with Val’s voice. She thought it was important to know it, and voices were distinct anyway, so it wasn’t that hard to pick Val’s out from a crowd. Still, when they laid together on the couch, (y/n) snuggled up with her head under specifically under Val’s chin. She could hear her heartbeat and the sweet sound of her voice, her laugh, and the rumbles of her vocal chords. Who knew that human bodies could make so many sounds… (y/n) hung onto every one. 

The wonder of sound did not cease to amaze (y/n), however. One of the most distinct moments was the day she and Val had visited the city. It was towards the end of March, and despite April being on their doorstep, winter had been making it’s last-ditch effort to keep the day cloudy and cold. After stepping out of a little cafe and into the snow-covered streets, (y/n) breathed out in an amazing realization. 

Val walked out beside her, hands cupped around her hot chocolate. She grabbed her girlfriend’s hand and turned to leave. Unfortunately, she was stopped short by the tug of a static (y/n), who hugged her drink and stared whimsically into the snowy-landscape. 

“Love?” Val asked, an eyebrow raised with her fondly-dubious tone. 

(y/n) took a second to listen. “... you never told me that there’s no sound when it’s snowing.. I don’t think I’ve heard the city be this quiet before.”

Val blinked, then chuckled softly. It’d never quite occurred to her that snowing could be something to marvel at. Of course it was beautiful to look at in untouched fields, when the moon was high in the sky, but Val had had her hearing her whole life, and living and learning from (y/n) had certainly taught her a handful of wonderful revelations. 

“I’m sorry, I guess I never figured it was a big distinction from the sound of rain. No, snow is too light, and it doesn’t make much noise when it falls. That’s probably why it’s so quiet though- with all the particles in the air, I would imagine it all absorbs the soundwaves.”

“Huh,” (y/n) said, still watching the flakes fall blissfully, slowly, before settling gracefully against the bank of the curve. Then, she scrunched up her features- into the face Val always giggled at- and buried herself into her girlfriend’s warm embrace. Decidedly, she ignored Val’s cries to watch their drinks. “I know I said this when I first got my implants, but sound is weird...I love it.” 

Val laughed, a sound that (y/n) knew she’d remember forever. She smiled against the soft scarf that whispered in the breeze and tucked herself impossibly closer. If she listened close enough, she thought she could hear the beat of Val’s heart. (y/n) hummed and pressed a kiss to the junction of her jaw, just to hear Val’s soft giggle-snort. 

“H-hey! Hah, Love, we’re going to get sick standing out here like a bunch of loons. Well, you’ll get sick, at least.” (y/n) snorted against her cheek, cheekily, and slowly Val began to steer them back towards downtown to start heading home. “Come on now, let’s enjoy our cocoa and get home. I know of a few better ways we can spend this snowy evening…” 

(y/n) snort-laughed at Val’s not-so-subtle comment, but grinned anyway. Her girlfriend wasn’t wrong- there were a few better ways to spend the evening. She turned and allowed Val to tug her down the street. Or, really, only as far as a few feet, before her implant filtered in a whole new sound for her to hear.

“... Wait, snow CRUNCHES??”

Val had to stop and laugh as her amazing, silly, and curious girlfriend started stomping around the snow piles along the sidewalk. The entire way back, they crunched snow and ice and listened to the too-soft pattering of falling snow. 

Needless to say, despite the crisp coolness of the air, their long walk home was most certainly one of their best ones.

-> for homework they go to him because i’m not great at explaining things and i’d probably just end up doing it for them :(

-> tetsu actually sits them down and talks them through it though hence why they always go to him

-> at dinner time our daughter hates him though because he always makes her eat her veggies

-> our son would be good and eat his without being told,, he’s a mila kinnie <3

-> our daughter takes up volleyball,, our son becomes a STEM child like me and his father were >:)

-> i’m only kidding abt that, i would never push that onto my kids, i think our son would take an interest in academics though

-> tetsu teaches our daughter how to play and get ahead of her actual training

-> he’s a good teacher too though so she actually gets really good

-> at matches tetsu is so annoying though gn

-> doesn’t stop bragging about how good she is

-> same goes for parents evening for our son

-> “oh your kid got a B? that’s good for them, mine and milas son got an A* for a final grade and is going onto the extension programme next term 😁”

-> he is their biggest hype man though

-> overall, our kids would absolutely adore their dad and he would adore them just as much, he’d be such a doting dad and i love him sm :( <3
