poisoned mercury is so damn perfect I'm already in love and the name itself is so fucking creative like mercury=his dad in the books and their poisoned relationship sort of and its just fits so well with the entire fic aesthetic and the fact that the chapter of their first meeting just randomly (no actually I'm a luke stan so it's totally understandable) popped up on my feed like a few days back felt like the universe definitely wanted me to read it and dude I'm honestly so so so much in awe of your writing I'm completely addicted

also im so glad u noticed the mercury connection LOL. i was racking my brain trying to think of a band name for them and poisoned mercury was just chef's kiss (another contender was "sons of hermes" (but that felt too on the nose and i think i saw that somewhere already)

Do you think it's too late for me to publish my fanfics? I'm in my early 20's and I feel like I'm running out of time to share my work... I love writing and I know it's a hobby, but I can't find the motivation all the time to keep writing them all.

Hi there Anon 👋 Firstly, thank you for the kind support it's very appreciated 💓 Secondly, if there's one thing I've learned after joining tumblr and meeting fellow writers, it's that there's no age limit on creativity! Literally it doesn't exist--you just gotta block the insecurity in your head telling you otherwise (and also any rude people who try to tear you down on your journey).

Another thing I learned is that losing motivation and having writers block and struggling to find writing time are also universal experiences for all writers. It may feel upsetting seeing some post a dozen fanfics a week while you've barely finished a sentence--I've been in that boat. I currently AM in that boat lol--but at the end of the day you just gotta remember it's a hobby. And hobbies are meant predominantly for self-enjoyment, so if the fun stops, it's totally valid and okay to stop and start something else, whether it's another wip or another craft entirely.

So you do you honey and do it proudly. Post now, post when your 30 40 80 99 whenever you like, and create your own hype by having fun creating the worlds and characters that make you excited 😊

I find the fact that the confrontation at the end of UTRH is often summarized as Jason asking Bruce to kill the Joker for him fascinating.

Because that's not what happened.

Jason holds a gun up to Joker's head, gives Bruce another, and tells him that if Bruce doesn't do something (shoot Jason), he will kill Joker.

Jason doesn't give the gun to Bruce so that he would shoot Joker. He isn't expecting Bruce to pull the trigger on the clown. He's asking Bruce to do nothing. To be inactive. Because that will still be a choice, and despite having done nothing, everybody clearly agrees that Bruce would still, at least in part, be responsible for Joker's death.

...And to me, this moment is a kind of- microcosm, of the rest of Jason's point. Because after being captured and carted off to Arkham, the villain will escape again, and will kill more people. The only way to truly prevent that from happening would be to kill them; Bruce refuses to do so, and I respect his right to choose such a thing for himself, but it is still a choice, and if we agree that Bruce's inaction during the confrontation would leave him at least partly responsible for the Joker's death, then we must also agree that his inaction in permanently preventing the Rogues from killing more people means he is also, partly, responsible for all of those deaths.
