poisoned mercury is so damn perfect I'm already in love and the name itself is so fucking creative like mercury=his dad in the books and their poisoned relationship sort of and its just fits so well with the entire fic aesthetic and the fact that the chapter of their first meeting just randomly (no actually I'm a luke stan so it's totally understandable) popped up on my feed like a few days back felt like the universe definitely wanted me to read it and dude I'm honestly so so so much in awe of your writing I'm completely addicted

also im so glad u noticed the mercury connection LOL. i was racking my brain trying to think of a band name for them and poisoned mercury was just chef's kiss (another contender was "sons of hermes" (but that felt too on the nose and i think i saw that somewhere already)

I mean this in the nicest most non-confrontational way possible but what is the point of compiling the pedro library on links alone if so many writers have changed url/deleted/moved works? wouldn’t it have made more sense to compile/preserve the fics rather than signpost them?

Hi Anon 👋 You're right links can and do change often. I've lost count of how many times I've gone through and cleaned up the Library of deactivated writers or those who've changed usernames and thus I also had to delete or edit their fic links. And I miss a lot too cuz I'm just one person doing this.

By preserving the fics I assume you mean downloading them or copying and pasting so that even if fic is deleted then it remains able to be read? And I don't feel comfortable doing that. If a writer chooses to delete everything, that's their choice. A link gives me the same access as everyone else, just a little door that the author can keep open as long as they want.

The Library from the get-go was just meant to spread awareness of fic writers. It is impossible to suit the needs and wants of every reader. That's why I'm grateful for @pedrostories and @pascalsanctuary existing cuz they organize things differently but promote the same goal of celebrating writers ❤️

reminder to all gifmakers that your work is always a unique, valuable contribution to the community. even if someone has already giffed that scene. even if you're not 100% happy with the coloring. even if it doesn't get many notes because sometimes people only look at the 'top' posts in the tags (which are usually just the first posts on the scene after an episode drops).

frankly, the culture of expecting gifs to be made within 15 minutes of an episode airing and only reblogging posts made within that timeframe is stressful and unsustainable for creators, and it prevents people from discovering and appreciating the wonderful diversity and abundance of work that can be found here.

follow your favorite gifmakers, reblog generously, and have some compassion for people that devote their time to making beautiful things <3
