He may have become a deadbeat dad once it was already done, but Victor Frankenstein (not a doctor) definitely did reassemble that corpse from bits and pieces and reanimate it of his own free will.
I suppose that one way of looking at it is that he probably intended to become an avatar of The End (or perhaps conquer it), and only once the creature was reanimated did he realise that it was The Flesh calling him all along.
But seriously, Victor, you can't just abandon your Flesh monster kid just because you can't face what you did. Take some responsibility for goodness sake.
