It's a fun story with good writing and really interesting characters.

I was drawn in by the white haired anime boy when the trailers first dropped, I was further drawn in by the fact that he was also dead (Hurt/comfort angst potential is HOUGH) But also the visuals are absolutely gorgeous and I fell in love with the story of hope and faith and of wanting to be seen. It's such a wholesome movie and I've watched it repeatedly when it came out in theatres. Did I also mention the SOUNDTRACK?! ACK-! I love it!!!

I was here when this film was HUGE on Tumblr and I get so much nostalgia over it, sure, it was a little cringe*, but I had fun and that's what matters <3

The Emperor's New Groove:

Funny, memorable, guy turns into a llama.

This bad boy can fit so many memes! A great movie. Really good story about empathy. Fantastic villain. Fun family dynamics. The main character is FLAMBOYANT. Kronk is in this. I don't know what else you could possibly want. Oh yes, 2D animation my beloved.

The movie has a pretty silly concept but still contains plenty of heart and themes of cooperation and friendship. Plus all of the characters are iconic. They tend to be just a little bit horrible but still loveable (or at least extremely entertaining to watch).

I have loved this movie for 20 years; like 10 years ago I managed to convert my mom and now it’s our Thanksgiving movie. Infinitely quotable. The fact that Patrick Warburton is genuinely so tone-deaf that Kronk’s humming of the Mission: Impossible theme is UNRECOGNIZABLE.

5 - words of affirmation:

first, with nicknames. toye tends to swing towards more traditional nicknames (sweetheart, beautiful, etc) and uses them pretty often

he feels like he's not exactly Great with talking, so putting what he can into words through nicknames is his best way to show luz what he's thinking without him becoming overly defensive

luz is. all over the map with nicknames. he ranges from the good ol' fashioned ‘no homo’ names (buddy/pal/etc) to the most unhinged nicknames he can think of (i.e. pillowcase) to Normal Nicknames. toye literally could not gaf less

ok and i mean like look. as far as weaknesses go, i think they're p far up there on the communication scale. these motherfuckers don't talk. u know that bit in himym where robin and barney never talk about their problems and instead just Fuck. bc that's what they do

4 - receiving gifts:

look. gift giving rarely crosses their minds. not because they don't care about it, but because they genuinely just don't think of it

when two people are in the same vicinity a lot/work together/are never separated - like in the army - there isn't a lot of room for grand gestures and gift giving and the likes

they settle into giving each other small things on holidays/birthdays (cigarettes, ticket stubs, etc) but it hardly matters whether or not someone says something or gives them something

they're the same way with music. they don't have a lot of money after the war, and what they can save goes into a turntable and whatever vinyls they can find.

it's mostly billie holliday (obviously). but there's a lot of duke ellington in there as well, and, later on, a bunch of eartha kitt.

2 - acts of service:

luz really, really likes working with his hands. he's obsessed with fixing things, and oftentimes, it's things that weren't even broken.

when he's stressed out, he tends to tear apart whatever he can find (the sink, the fridge, etc) and then trying to put it back together

this often translates into him subconsiously doing whatever he can to 'fix' toye

he doesn't even realize that he's doing it, really. toye does, but doesn't say anything, because he knows it's how luz finds whatever equilibrium he's working with

the general rule is that luz is able to fuck around with anything of toye's except for the crutches, the leg, or the chair. everything else is fair game

it almost is a game, at this point - the best way to tell what kind of day luz is having is by looking at the state of Disarray around the apartment

toye doesn't say anything about it, and it's often put back together the next day. when it's not, he puts it back together himself

You were feeling festive. The house was decorated head to toe with garland, lights and ornaments. Tom had made a comment that it looked like Santa's Workshop exploded in the living room, but he loved it just as much as you did.

Growing up, Tom's christmases were always cold. His mother did the bare minimum when it came to decorating or putting up a tree. His father said too much decoration was an eye-sore. Christmas Gifts were also another thing that he hardly ever got either. His parents were wealthy, but the penny pinching type of wealthy. They didn't like spending money on unnecessary things like Christmas gifts.

But now that he was older and had been with you for so long, he let his inner child come out around the holidays. You had taught him the joys of Christmas could follow you even into adulthood. He found joy in gift giving, and hanging up Christmas lights, and drinking too much during Christmas Eve parties. This year for Christmas the two of you decided that gifts for each other had to be under $40 and something for the two of you to enjoy year round.

Tom had the perfect gift.

You were singing along to 'Santa Baby' by Eartha Kitt as you mixed together the dough for gingerbread cookies when Ice came walking into the kitchen, a smirk on his face.

"Hi baby," He said, his voice low and smooth.

"Hello love," You answered, setting down the mixer and walking over to him. You greeted him with a quick kiss, but he put his hands on your hips, pulling you in for a deeper kiss, "Mm, what are you doing?"

"Just giving my girl a kiss," Ice smiled, "I know Christmas is still a week away, but I want to open gifts now."

"Baby-"

"Please," He gave you those damn eyes that you could never say no to. You bit your lip and nodded. Ice kissed your cheek and ran to the living room to grab the two gift boxes sitting under the tree, "Meet me upstairs in five!"

"Did you get me a puppy?"

"Something better!" Ice yelled as he ran up the stairs. You giggled and cleaned up the kitchen a bit, putting the gingerbread dough in the fridge for later. Once it hit five minutes, you walked up the stairs to your bedroom. You stifled a laugh as you walked in, seeing your boyfriend laying across the bed, two wrapped boxes in front of him, and a bow on his head.

"What are you doing?" You asked, and Ice gave you that classic smirk.

"Wanna play a little game," Ice said, "Wanna play?"

“I'm always in the mood to play, my love," You said, walking slowly to the bed, making sure to sway your hips a bit more and leaned your hands on the bed, making sure to push your breasts a bit towards him, "Tell me the rules."

"First, you gotta unwrap your gift," Ice pointed towards one of the boxes. You sat on the edge of the bed and placed the box with your name on it in your lap. Ice moved to kneel behind you, running his fingers up and down your arms lightly. You tried to focus on unwrapping the box as Ice placed soft kisses on your neck.

"Who wrapped the box?" You asked.

"I did," Ice answered.

"Mhm, sure," You knew his gift wrapping was atrocious and probably Slider or Wolfman wrapped it for him. You tore through the tissues paper in the box and your eyes widened at the sight of red lace lingerie. There was white fur on the top of the red lace bra that left little to the imagination.

"Oh wow," You said and looked over at Tom, "You bought me a lingerie set?"

"That's not all," Tom said and kissed your cheek, "I'm not that shallow. Your other gift you can open on Christmas, but for now. . ."

"What's in the other box?" You asked.

Tom leaned down, his breath fanning over your neck, sending shivers down your body. You craned your neck to the side as he placed a kiss under your ear, and then he lightly nipped at your earlobe.

"Gotta unwrap me to find out."

You took that as a challenge as you tossed the box to the floor, and climbed on top of your boyfriend (soon to be fiancé).
