I’m rereading painted devils for the 3rd time and I’ve been wondering for ages - is the Betze who works for Ozkar also the Betze that Dieter mentioned?

Sure is :) I had to cut the details from Painted Devils because it ultimately was just fun background drama, but Dieter and Betze were engaged. Specifically the “we’ve been together since we were 14, it’s gonna happen anyway” kind of engaged, and then Dieter was content being a small-town musician who didn’t take Betze’s arcane studies all too seriously.

~~~ The first chapter in the canon divergence E/C/R longfic I've been plotting and researching for the past several months. It's going to be a bit of a slow burn (with more than a little danger and angst on the way), but hopefully readers will find it worth it!

NOTE 1: Nothing NSFW happens in the first chapter, but the M-rating will apply in later chapters.

NOTE 2: This takes place in the same continuity as Imprints In Time, and references some things from that (mostly involving Madame Giry's history with Erik). Reading the first story isn't strictly required, but it helps.

Two families moving in together without many complications, when the parents get married after knowing each other for 5 minutes regardless of what their children think about it. The children basically being told to suck it up and "hold no resentment" (and when they do the issue is only surface level) and pretty much call the other families theirs after barely a year is deep and meaningful?

But two teenagers being forced to live together in close proximity for their last three years of high school and accidentally develop feelings for each other is so far fetched and ridiculous that the latter is more appropriate?

I hope we get more Christopher soon - like it’s weird that they’ve not really addressed how he feels about his dad’s girlfriend maybe moving in(?) or if he even knew about it. They’ve said she’s babysat a couple times so he must have some opinion, and he’s a young teen now so that’s a whole thing

Not saying I’d need him to hate her or anything but unless he’s the chillest kid alive he’s gotta have thoughts on it

Personally I’d love it if his take on it was “Yeah she’s nice and I’m glad you’re happy but I had my mom and I have you and Buck, I don’t really want another parent” - because I think that would really give Eddie something to think about -why does he move too fast, is it because he wants to or bc he’s trying to fill a role for Christopher without even checking if that’s what he wants
