#i love all the ships i'm developing i need u to know

Is there any "canceled" settings that never got out? Or just some canned ideas like OG modified people(?) thera

I have loadssss of canned ideas which couldn't work in the setting I envisioned:

the first story idea for Siren i had was going to be about an unmodified human (employed by modern atom corp) crashlanding there, and the three explorers (huarvaa, qedivar, and terwy) would volunteer to help them travel to the precursor settlement to find parts to fix their space ship. But along the way they would all make the discovery that they were all humans all along (obviously with the unmodified human believing they were being helped by three aliens). So there'd be points in the story where they'd be like "huh what a weird coincidence that [some similarity they share]" finally turning into "wait so your people made us to be slaves on this planet??" and the unmodified human having to absorb the rammys. Reason I didn't go with it: didn't like the focus on an unmodified human, I felt it a disservice to the sirenians' intelligence to imagine that they couldn't figure out all that shit on their own.

That one jumps to mind as this was originally a Siren blog and I do still work away at it here haha.

For outright cancelled settings and stories, kiiinda ISOK, i don't really make new things about it anymore and it never grabbed my attention enough, I'll draw my faves but don't feel like developing stories or characters there right now

Twist the manticore came from a very recently fully cancelled story about curses which you can find in the #manticore tag on my big art blog. Basically a concept of a really fucked up city built on a mine of the substance which allows people to visualise magic spells and particularly curses. The story was about a curse broker who would be hired to cast curses not necessarily of his own design, but he'd be the one pulling the trigger because it's like this nightmare gig economy where you need an endless supply of new people to cast curses because each casting takes a cumulative toll on the body. Anyway I fell away from it because it was hard to write a very actively suicidal pov and I never figured out the ending so it felt aimless. Sometimes when I have no ending in mind I can just go on and on throwing new scenarios at the characters to see them react but I wasn't feeling it here. But I liked the manticore and sphinx designs

Obviously all of my 21st century Inver writing is gone noncanon now which is great. The future now is entirely uncertain yippee!!!

I've also had one billion story ideas which are up on the shelf kind of waiting. A big one you might know from my werewolf sketchbook is the glam underground werewolf subculture stuff which I came up with while watching dog shows lol but essentially warring werewolf packs decided to cut down the body count by doing head to head dance battles instead based on the beauty and aesthetics of their werewolf forms, it was a little inspired by drag balls but it's something I'm not very familiar with so if I were to go at it seriously I would need to do a lot of work. The story would be about a guy who got bitten and had to find his way to one of these spaces where because of his lovely werewolf form he gets poached by a pack and ends up competing with them, until he stumbles across the dead body of the current best in show competitor, rival to his new pack, and is accused of murdering him. He is charged with proving his innocence, but also finding out who the hell bit him because it seems like it may have been done on purpose to create a scapegoat for this murder. Anyway yea full murder mystery and the werewolves had show names which were as extravagant and striking as u can imagine*, essentially leaving their straightsonas at the door once a month to queen out among the only people who understand them. The only setting I could possibly imagine for it was vegas lol but in a more homophobic era (the underground lycanthropy scene being analogous to gay culture ofc).

Another story I wanna work on eventually is a revamp of the radio dragons, I realised ultimately that I was still trying to 'fix' pern with it when presenting a rebuttal to the ethical problems with dragon rider stories ends up really boring ("the dragons are in charge and they pick their riders when the riders are teens and there's an element of choice etc etc" boring). Ultimately I should just be completely inverting the dynamic and leaving it unchanged so that the issues are made blinding rather than fixed - in this case, the dragons are in charge, but they are picking their riders from birth. Newborn human baby instantly hooked up to an adult or at least older adolescent dragon and treated like a particularly smart parrot for most/all of their lives. And the story told entirely from dragon pov of course (dragon would do anything for their beloved rider!! even maybe let them vote?)

Kenji and Brooklynn seem to be very incompatible right now. So why and how will their relationship work if they're so different? In jwcc those two were similar, but now, not even their hobbies aren the same.

Can u tell us what in common they have in CT?

I think this argument is flawed and might be influenced by your dislike of the ship (i assume you don't ship them).

Because we literally don't know ANY of the Nublar 6 hobbies, only their jobs. We never got to see them in their everyday lives before everything went down. Like, would you be able to tell me what Ben's hobbies were before he started invastigating Brooklynn's death? Or Darius before he started hunting down the allosaurus?

The same could be said about Yaz and Sammy. Like, from what's in the show, would you be able to tell what they have in common, their shared hobbies? No, because it's not integral to the plot, the only thing we know is that they love each other and that's all we need to know.

Because the show isn't a romcom about the romantic/everyday lives of six friends, it's a show about the lives of six friends who have to deal with deadly dinosaurs and corrupted human beings ruining their lives. So that's normal that we don't really know what their lives look like when everything is "normal", because it's not what the show's about.

And I actually think that the show is telling us that what broke up Brooklynn and Kenji was anything but a compatibility problem.

They were together for 6 years, and in the few flashbacks we have, we're shown that they were nothing but happy together during these six years. They went on picnics, on hikes, lived together, the only picture Brooklynn had at her secret appartment was of them (printed and framed, on her desk, where she spent most of her time), she had cute cringy videos of them on her phone, they still looked smitten with each other in the few scenes we got...

Neither of them actually wanted to break up.

But I can see the point you're trying to make, in that Brooklynn's investigation could be considered a "hobby" like any other that'd make her incompatible with Kenji.

But it's clearly not. It's not explicitly said, but it's in the subtext that things only started going awry when she started working on the Broker case after Ben introduced Dark Jurassic to her (she said it to Kenji, "I've been all over the place lately, I'm just working on something super important").

Before that, it seemed she had a healthy balance between her personal life and her work.

This shows that this is not a "Kenji and Brooklynn are not compatible" problem, but rather a "Brooklynn developed an unhealthy obsession with catching the broker" problem. The proof of that is that she didn't neglect only Kenji, but all her friends (as shown in the facetime), not even doing the bare minimum anymore to maintain her relationships (weekly facetimes).

At that point Brooklynn wasn't compatible with ANYONE, but that was because she lost herself and started neglecting herself by neglecting her personal life. We're shown times and times again. She's devastated when Kenji breaks up with her but the bag of money from Daniel is enough to make it instantly disappear from her mind, same with Darius' confession, she hears that her best friend is in love with her, that should be a life-shattering news, and yet immediately after she goes back to her investigation as if nothing even happened and expects Darius to do the same and still help her with her investigation. This is not normal, this is not healthy, and this is not who we are told Brooklynn was during these six years.

Her obsession is not shown as a "natural" evolution of her character, as part of her normal behavior, it's something that happened to her and that basically ruined every aspect of her life. There's a lesson she needs to learn. She's not supposed to still be this Brooklynn at the end of the show, because it's not the real Brooklynn.

So I think that when she manages to get out of that self-destructing obsession, she'll be able to repair her relationships, she will want to. And, as I said, a lack of compatibility was never a thing for her and Kenji. They were compatible before she "lost herself", and they loved each other.

I think she already got rid of her unhealthy obsession, but is now continuing solely because she thinks she doesn't have a choice. That she already sacrificed too much to stop before she achieves her goal, that what awaits her if she was to get back to her loved ones now is too scary for her, and that she genuinely does it to protect her friends because she knows that now, they're in the Broker's radar because of her.

As for what they have in common...as I said, we don't know that about any of the characters.

And today, instead of anylysing another Yasmina and Sammy scene, we're analyzing THESE TWO BAMFs!!!

OMFG, these two I can't with these two I love them so dearly my lord. One of my favourite brother/sister relationships of all time. Their so supportive of each other and have a "sorry I just threw you down a mountain, it's how I show affection :)" relationship it's the best dynamic ISTG.

Like, I think Ben is the only other person Yaz voluntarily hugs (Not counting all the time's with Brooklyn cause those were kinda out of like "I protec u").

Like, Yaz didn't really have a strong relationship with Ben before he became "Island Ben", but when she sees him, instead of standing in shock like Brook and Kenji, she just throws herself at him (In a very "Sammy-like" manner, if I do say so myself lol). She obviously cares for this boy, even in when he was "Scared-Ben" and before their relationship really took off.

And she CONTINUES holding on to him like a lifeline for a good 7 seconds (Trust, I counted lol) AND THEN SHE FUCKING-

She pulls him in AGAIN. And Ben isn't like, akward about it at all. He just hugs her back instantly, which to me screams that there were never any romantic interest between them (Sorry to those who ship these two) and honestly shows need more of this. Like, these two are the only ones in this series...

ok I take it back, no one has shipped Ben and Brooklyn or Darius and Sammy as far as I'm concerned, but they have such limited screentime together I can see why.

They're the only well-developed and HEALTHY non-romantic duo in this series.

But like, Brook, Kenji, and Darius all had this really...weird and unexplained love triangle going on. Like I swear I wasn't the only one picking up on Brooklyn and Darius in Season 1 and 2, but then it shifts to Kenji for no real reason. Then obviously Yaz and Sammy were hinted at since the very first episode lol, but these two.

They're not even really as sibling-coded as Darius and Kenji (Yet another ship that I hope no one wanted to sail because...ew. their brothers yall. BROTHERS). They're just...different. I really don't know how to explain it. Honestly the best way I can explain it is with these two vvv

Yaz would definitely call Ben "Dingus" and make a "You Rule | You Suck" board I will die on this hill.

And Yaz obviously trusts this boy with her life. Like, when they were hiding from the robo-dogs (Oh my god, the demodogs and demogorgons of JWCC, the BRADS and BRAD-Xs) she's leaning into him.

And then they think their gonna die and this snipped right here actually breaks and heals my heart at the same time 🥹

Yaz just clings to him and hides her face in his shoulder and Ben doesn't waste a single goddamn moment before he tries to shield her as best he can.

*Raine pauses and watches again for science*

Screaming, crying, sobbing over them.

Can't find the GIF for it, but in season 5 when Ben sees Bumpy on get off the boat and makes a run for it, Yaz is the first one who notices Ben is gone. She's looking around for him before everyone else and she's the one who asks "Where's Ben". It's the little details in their relationship.

There's a whole other post I might make tomorrow on the amazing wingmanship between these two with Sammy and Ben's hilarious misunderstanding of Yaz being Kenji's wingman (Still not over that).

I love these two so much, my babies :))) There's so many moments between them that I caught on my rewatch.

Kitana and Jade - they have always been my fav duo. I just want Jade to come to the roster soon and rock tf out of Kitana's world.

Tanya and Mileena - obviously, bc Forbidden Love trope is so good! The stole glances and kisses. And the angst of Mileena wanting to disband the Umgadi to finally be with Tanya but Tanya is so devoted to Mileena that she would rather prioritize her safety and well being over her love. DO YOU GET IT?? Like choosing Mileena over her own selfish want to have her only to herself. THE DEVOTION OF LIFETIME 😭

Liu Kang and Shang Tsung (MK1) - enemies-to-lovers is spicy and delicious with these two 😩🤌❤️‍🔥 and the amount of character study i can do to Shang Tsung, development of i-blame-u-for-my-every-misfortune-u-will-atone-to-what-u-kept-from-me to suddenly-i-feel-complicted-to-kill-u-bc-u-seem-just-as-human-as-i-am. On the other hand, Liu Kang knows he can't trust Shang Tsung and should abide to his own moral value but something makes him deviate, something makes him drawn to the sorcerer. And its just 😩❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Raiden and Kung Lao - im not really friends-to-lovers girlie but they are so darn cute. The feeling slowly morphing into love but too afraid to risk their friendship then MUTUAL PINING?! I got a scene in my head that Raiden and Kung Lao are snuggling together, all tangled idk maybe watching a movie but then suddenly one of them kisses the other on the cheek then both freezes bc what just happened? this has never happened before, what does this mean?? they're both freaking out silently as they awkwardly detangle themselves from each other 😆😭🤌

As for fanfics, i always have plot bunnies jumping around everywhere, i just need them to fully mature and start producing actual coherent sentences into my head.

Rn I'm fully planned to write Railao one that's set in TMOAW&TEOAL universe. Additionally, i have an idea for a medium length Shangliu fanfic but it's only on the ✨️vibes✨️ stage. These dont have any set scedule unfortunately. I wish i was a fast writer, alas 😭

absolutely LOVE hiraeth and everything about them! their lore has me so invested and i love how you have and talk about it! quick question if you don’t mind, but how did you come up with hiraeth’s lore? i’m currently working on a group and their lore so i would love some advice/tips from the loremaster themselves! have a good day/night!

aaaaaaa!  u have no idea how happy this ask makes me because not only is their lore is my pride and joy,  but it just makes me soooo happy to know that someone is enjoying my group!  :D  also,  loremaster?  that made me giggle and kick my feet,  not gonna lie...  and of course i wouldn’t mind,  it actually flatters me that ur asking me.  :)  i’ll put all the yapping under a read more so i don’t disturb the dash,  but if you have more questions or an @ to drop  (because i need to know what u are cooking),  just let me know,  either in dms or here.

before i start,  i just want to mention  (and sorry if i sound like a broken record to those who skim through my yapping posts)  that i created hiraeth because a friend and i thought it’d be fun to throw our ship into an idol au.  you could say that hiraeth and their lore grew from that ship,  as we thought it would be fun if there was a kind of “call and response” theory between the two groups.  while this didn't really need to be said,  some of hiraeth’s essence definitely comes from the little world we built together.

finding a group name that fit was essential,  i think.  when my friend and i started brainstorming,  i only had a rough idea of what i wanted,  which was a mix of red velvet,  loona,  dreamcatcher,  exo,  and aespa.  i wanted angels!  garden of eden!  magical girls!  a group that was deemed as a cult!  some horror!  the concept of the two sides of the same coin!   more than what meets the eye!  but funny enough,  i didn’t really see the whole picture until i finally settled on the name hiraeth.  the word means a homesickness for a feeling you can’t return to,  a feeling that maybe never was.  that’s when i realized i wanted hiraeth to capture not exactly my initial ideas,  but i wanted the meaning to actually make sense,  so my idea started to expand until i finally settled into what i have now.  and i’m sure my ideas will keep expanding as time goes on!

i was also inspired by my two ults,  red velvet and loona,  especially loona’s unit yyxy.  and,  yes,  i 100% admit i was deep in those loonaverse reddits trying to get a feel for what i wanted because i wanted something like that.  my lore started out very similar to theirs,  just with some changes because who was going to check me!  only my friend and i knew about the group so i could totally get away with it!  but,  as some may know,  i got really attached to the idea of them and the potential of their lore,  and as time went on and i got a clearer idea of what i wanted  (thanks to pinterest,  video games,  photography/photoshoots,  books,  tiktok edits,  music,  my ship,  and even the bible and no i'm not joking),  their lore slowly started to evolve into whatever i have going on.  don’t be harsh on urself if ur “base” idea isn’t as developed as u'd like or if it’s similar to something ur taking inspiration from,  u just need to let the creative juices do their thing,  even if it takes time. 

another tip:  always write down ur ideas,  and if something makes u think,  “oh! this would fit into their lore!”  immediately jot it down,  so u can look back at it and find a way to work it in.  for example,   hiraeth is a little bit of everything i’ve enjoyed or found interesting in literally everywhere,  even if it has nothing to do with the idol scene or the girls themselves—  let it be a quote or a video game arc or even just a single picture.  everything is an inspiration if u look close enough.

now,  poppy,  kaia,  and yvan are characters i’m really attached to  (especially poppy)  since they’ve been with me for a very long time.  so,  i thought it’d be really fun if their lore actually mirrored their actual personalities and struggles,  like a subtle reflection of their thoughts,  actions,  pasts,  secrets,  and their current life that is being showcased to everyone in the eyes of an overly-exaggerated visage of themselves.  obviously,  the lore is really extra and not literal but their actual essence is there,  you know?  almost as if they are building up their own fantasy book with themselves as main characters!  their fans can’t pick up on any of this because they don’t know the girls deeply,  but…  little spoiler,  i guess?  i don’t know if this makes sense so i will show some little examples below:

summer realizes that she,  spring,  and winter can almost become god-like once they begin to "sin,"  leading them down a path she believes is "better" for them.  but she doesn’t fully see that some paths might not be the best,  as their sins  (especially hers)  cast a shadow over them,  keeping her from thinking it all through and sometimes getting them in trouble—on the other hand,  kaia sees that she and her members could achieve so much more once nari is out of the picture.  as their leader,  she earns their trust by guiding them to see beyond the empty promises of an abusive management that didn’t care for them the way she did.  yet,  they’re still being held back as a sense of guilt looms over them and their careers,  making every move feel risky.  this burden falls the heaviest on kaia,  who made a drastic choice for the sake of herself and her members.

spring feels stuck,  with no real desire to “bloom” after things went wrong the first time she “sinned.”  she feels the urge to make a change and stir the ship,  but hesitates to the point of doing nothing—versus poppy,  who feels trapped as an idol facing high expectations,  especially as a chronically ill woman carrying deep trauma.  though she doesn’t particularly like being in the spotlight,  she remains in the “safe” zone because it feels like the only secure option,  and it is because she does a really good job at her job because if she’s going to be forced to do something,  then she’s going to be the best at it. 

winter treats everything as a joke,  believing that everything will always go their way because they’ve been convinced that they’re the "center of the universe."  that is,  until spring’s warmth reaches them,  revealing that not everything is perfect and that there’s more to life outside their own bubble—versus yvan,  whose high popularity and top-tier status changed how they see the world.  however,  yvan has been learning that things won’t always go their way,  and that support won’t always be there.  poppy herself is a reminder that someone “better” will always be around,  even if many hold yvan higher than her.  random but i loooooooove their relationship because it’s a whole  always an angel,  never a god  situation.

the  ‘aengel cult’  started when the angels left behind their old doctrines,  preaching  individuality,  self-love,  and self-expression instead of sharing words that didn’t resonate within themselves—versus hiraeth’s fans,  who are deemed a cult because of their intense loyalty towards them,  but also because of how fucking defensive they are towards the aes because the music,  the concept,  their vibes,  and the girls themselves are TWE GOOD not to defend!  they are not as insane as *rmys / bl*nks / st*ys though…  they are pretty funny and just don’t take anything seriously but when someone calls The Never Has Flopped Group a Flop…

and yes,  i know.  that is really fucking extra and literally this is something u literally didn't ask,  but that’s what makes creating lore fun!  be extra!!!!!!!  do ur own little twist if that’s what u want!!!!!  don’t limit yourself and overthink it,  friend!  it’s your group and your lore,  so have some fun and do whatever you want  <3

ok so i saw thunderbolts today and it was lowkey amazing

I looked forward to this movie cuz i love bucky and yelena and WOW i was blown away by both actors' performances

When bucky came up to bring in yelena+her crew? omg. the bike scene. it was so fucking hot. eeeeaaasusuhhgjhgkjkjhkldkjgkjgnvjfn also i hated bucky's haircut in this movie at first but i kind of like it now. Like when he was on the bike like it felt super comic book accurate at least to me (i've only read like 2 diff volumes of tws marvel comics but that's basically how I remember bucky to look like in the comics)

The movie surprisingly made me like john walker??? i lowk hated this guy in tfatws but i feel like the movie def humanized him more and gave his character more depth. I think the writing in tfatws brought his character down for me imo

I LOVED bob in this movie, he was funny and pretty well written imo! I have no personal experience w depression or delusion so I can't rlly comment on how well the writers portrayed it in the movie but i could def like feel? it kind of? idk how to explain it dfjdhgkfklfdnfw i just think it was pretty well written OKAY. The way the thunderbolts saved the day through the power of friendship lowkey felt super realistic? Cuz like when sentury appeared i genuinely couldn't imagine how the thunderbolts would defeat him cuz he literally had the power of a THOUSAND suns. like. bro. nobody can win against that. thats like if you put all the avengers tgt + carol danvers u still wouldn't win against this guy. Anyways I just think the conflict in this movie felt super fresh cuz it def strayed away from like the normal haha evil scientist guy shows up and yaps abt how he's gonna be the next steve rogers and became more ohhhh lets really develop these characters by diving into their pasts!!!! like yes!!! we need this!!! we want this!!!!

Im lowk sad that they didn't include more backstories though, like i would've loved seeing bucky's time at hydra, ava's past in the labs or even alexei's adventures as the red guardian when the soviet union was still a thing.

also i literally thought the woman that died in the vault was gonna have a more prominent role in this movie cuz she was literally in all of the movie posters I saw. BUT THEN SHE DIED?????? LIKE 30 MINS INTO THE MOVIE??? KJHGJKHJKHG I'm glad she didn't have a bigger role lowk cuz idk anything abt this person, i dont even know her name jghjgkflbhklfen

First of all: The ending. The fanwork just will get 4 chaps cuz i can't drag stuff yet. To spoil the ending, Bill will have a panic attack upon not being able to avoid feeling queer at Josh's presence, gets a hold of his mother's whisky, drunkly and pathetically call Josh to come to his house and out of pity he will attend. They end up alone in Bill's room and end up kissing. It doesn't stop Josh from going to college, much for the opposite effect as he gets scared and confused, but plans to come back to Eltingville soon with a clearer mind.

Pete HC: 🅱️ete is transmasc, stealth-trans. His parents saw it coming from a young age and are actually supportive. They help him hide away his deadname and other stuff that would direct hate towards him. His dad loves having a male son that is interested in helping him with brute shit, although he doesn't endorse his interest in horror and nerd stuff, it is the exception.(also Jer knows his deadname as they are childhood frens.)

Jerry HC('s, theres A LOT of stuff): 1st, Jerry is transfem. 2nd, PeteJer is real. 3rd: I made BillJer virtually impossible timeline-wise bc Bill assumes himself as gay a little after Jer's Egg-Hatchin', also he has the fastest but most oblivios gaydar(maybe queer-dar, idk??) and never felt attracted to Jer.(also yeah, i hold a grudge for the flood of billjer we had when eltingville blew up. Like, Frrr? the whitest, most bland ship u cold think off got popular!?! No hate if u like it, theres loads of gr8 stuff under the umbrella, I'm just not kin.)

Vent: I still love eltingville, don't see the end off the brainstorm/interest flood on the horizon yet- ....Buuuuuut I can't hold myself from feeling like I'm making a disservice to the BillJosh tag. I just begun to write again and posted it on AO3 to prevent me from quitting, and The Damn™️, I feel like my work is meh at best. I'm a perfecctionist, and there are plans of it being re-written, so if u like it, hop in the future when i got enough EXP. and writing turned into a pleasure again.

There will be at least 3 more projs. after I conclude this one: A continuation where Josh comes back to Eltingville to see Bill and ends up dragging him to Boston; A PeteJer bittersweet tale with two parts in which(as it is in my brain rn, change might come) mirrors the BillJosh plot, you'll have to wait to see; And a Jane-centered story BECAUSE I 💜 HER!!1!!

I.... Okay.... Last one. The cringiest and most personal yet: There will need to be a Miracle, a fucking change of heart of me to not put Fan-Childs at some point.... yeah. Look, I myself plan of becoming a Father/Ba irl and it pours in the way i see relationships. YYAYAYAAAA I've been waiting forever to be able to answer this but I've been so busy with work!!! OH BOYYY IM SO EXCITED TO ANSWERR

Gravity Falls is like one of my all time 'tisms, like I have seen it an unholy amount of times, I've never kept track of just how many times. I used to just have it on 24/7 as background noise around my house. I know this show like the back of my hand and I simply adore it!!! okay so-- I've also been shipping in it since I first got into it, but eventually I wasn't shipping in it anymore and just enjoyed it for what it was-- until I rewatched it in my adulthood.

Now, I used to only ship with Ford, but...well, my crusty old man taste had developed to fruition already in 2021 so Stanley was instantly looking FOOOOOINEEE as hell alongside Stanford. So then it was-- I was shipping with both of them. Separately, though. Definitely needed different canons for it to work, since Ford and I have a much different relationship than Stan and I, but I'm honestly still working on my lore with Ford now that things have changed and that I'm much older. There's just more potential with him in terms of intergalactic/dimensional stuff!

So in terms of Stan and me, we're mostly just very domestic and comfortable outside of the crazy canon lore! I started off working at the mystery shack, helping Stan with his crazy ideas for new creatures and attractions, I also helped out a lot with sales and tours! But eventually we both just clicked and I discovered that I in fact LOVEDDDD that old man. And as it turns out he felt the same too!! He was more hesitant, for obvious reasons. A considerable age gap, the fact that he's a lot more insecure than he lets on, people in general think he's disgusting and conniving and a scammer, but I like his style! I never judged him like that, I get where he's coming from, and we've both been through a lot in our lives so we tend to relate A LOT despite the generational difference. But we're mostly just a very doting couple who makes the dream happen, we hustle and we take care of the twins! And also try to keep them out of trouble, to the best of our abilities. Stan and I are only dating, but if I were to ever have the pleasure of marrying him-- well I'd be honored to be any sort of caretaker figure to them!

Now, me and Ford? Our relationship depends on *when* we met. Currently I have two timeline ideas, but for now I'll focus on one where he's also a crusty old man. We relate a lot as well, just on a different level! We're both giga nerds, love to write and draw, are nervous wrecks but simultaneously too oblivious for our own good. We do have our own version of a domestic life, one that just includes more weird happenings and nerd stuff! Lots of D&D&moreD, talking and theorizing, and a lot of dorky longing looks and late nights of working on stuff together. I'd like to think in this version of myself in Gravity Falls, I'd be more akin to the weirdness and was far more aware of it than I would be if I was with Stan, seeing as Stanley would most likely try to shield me from it than make me aware.

Also you can call me either or honestly!! Miya is my real name so it's more personable (I would be honored if you felt comfortable enough to call me as such!), and Starshine is just a cute nickname that my mans Wonka calls me along with some other mutuals! or if you want another *another* nickname, you can also go with Marnie!

Hii aahhh!! Martian is such a great ship to write for because they inhabit this twilight zone where their undeniable chemistry and the conscious, continuous choice they made to love each other after everything makes them the pinnacle of all slow-burn romances.

Yet, when looking at their Red Bull years alone they are that's compelling because they are doomed from the start, the perfect narrative foils that distill each other into their raw components of ego and need and want. They make each other painfully human and that is not a good thing in this story.

Not to hype up a wip, but maybe my favourite project I'm currently working on is a martian fic set during the 2010 season that tells the story of Mark's ego death; brought under Red bull's institutional yoke and sacrificed upon the altar of Sebastian's championship ambitions.

It's also where that snippet comes from ;) So it's very encouraging to hear that you've liked what you've read thus far.

It's an a/b/o fic with alpha!seb and omega!mark in which Mark is forcefully brought back into the world of F1 after his retirement when Sebastian discovers that since Mark left, he has been hiding the child they conceived together the night of Mark's last race.

My summary doesn't do it justice but I swear on a god that I don't believe in that everything from the world-building to the development of Mark's and Seb's relationship as they find their way back to each other through years of misunderstanding and soceital decree is simply put, spectacular.

It just gets everything right for me and no matter how many times I reread it, I am just as enthralled as I was the first time.

I am also, as you will notice with my other recs, a major sucker for fics where Mark is one being looked after. Especially when Seb is being possessive about looking after him.

Anyway there are planets, there are stars, there are ships, and alien worlds. This game is already down my alley and sold itself pretty well. The art direction is phenomenal and reminds me of early dnd concepts, but sci-fi. The planets are barren, space is cold, and the galaxy is brutal. So it's not gonna be a lovey dovey experience of lush greenery planets or documenting of colourful species like No Man's Sky. Everything is grey-toned and dim. That world seems harsh and military focused, a fast-paced tactical combat game is the impression I'm getting. Not groundbreaking but not too shabby either, who knows, maybe they'll blow me out of the water with unforgettable companions or mind-boggling plot twists.

It actually doesn't remind me of Mass Effect at all. Those games did have a resemblance of a galactic civilisation, even if the Citadel was just a background in ME1. It was still there. It was still somewhat colourful.

This isn't a criticism of Exodus; I'm not looking for a mass effect knockoff. It's just an observation bc so many comments seem to parrot that this is the next Mass Effect with heavy inspiration from the series, when the only thing in common they seem to have is the space theme. Honestly, good for Exodus! deserves to make its own name in the genre and not be lumped with Mass Effect. Hope people come to appreciate the distinct style and art direction on its own eventually.

But I just wanted to ask, as an OC x Canon enjoyer, who is the red(?) haired character you draw with Anji all the time? She’s so cute + I’m a curious lil idiot I wanna know more about her + her dynamic w/ Anji!! Thank u!! :3

As for your questions... The answers are under the cut ^_^ (yapping alert)

The character is my oc, Salomé (Sal for short)! Here's some info about her:

She's a Chilean girl who was born in a cult-like family with various restrictions; she was very attached to her twin and one of her younger sisters. Unfortunately, both of them died while trying to escape their abusive family, leaving her with a feeling of emptyness.

Due to her previously restricted lifestyle, Sal is quite shy and gets nervous around people she is not familiar with. She's very sweet with the people she loves, but she can be a bit clingy at times.

This girl is kind of 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 as well but she's trying so hard to hide it.

Her dynamic with Anji is something that I haven't fully developed yet but, it's... Silly? (*Coughs* this ship is still kind of new & I'm slow at coming up with ideas)

Sal gets flustered SUPER easily. Because of this, Anji is extra flirty and frequently teases her; he's amused by the way she reacts (? She's completely mesmerized by his outgoing personality. Maybe a little bit obsessed, even. She isn't a psycho stalker though-

Anji is aware of her rough past and has helped her to get over a few insecurities. Sal is very thankful, and tries to return the favor by supporting him when needed <3

Opinion: My own view on HanaNeneTsuka ship because- why not? lol

Finally done with the TeruAoiKane post! ...Now moving on to (Ama)HanaNeneTsuka!

First things first; No. I do not ship Tsukasa x Amane, nor do I support incest in fiction or in real life. This post will be mostly about me analysing the TsuNene and (Ama)HanaNene relationship, and Tsukasa & Amane's fraternal (platonic) relationship. And my final opinion about this trio in a both romantic and platonic way. Lil' notes: this post may contain sensitive topics.

That's it for the notes! Now, let's start with...

TsuNene!

To be honest with you guys... I don't even remember when did I even start shipping those 2 lol Like- I seriously do not remember. Not even a vague memory of it. I just know that, one day, I got tired of HanaNene and started to ship TsuNene. And soon they become my Top 1 favorite ship. I don't know if it was the fanarts, the manga itself, the official AUs of them together, the fanfictions, or something else. I just started to ship them and that's it.What I do know, though, is that there is something that made me continue shipping them, regardless of what happened in the manga between them.. lol

Just like in my last post about TeruAoi; The way both Tsukasa and Nene are so similar is what kept me shipping them.

Like- They both are so similar to each other in so many ways. They have so much in common!

Both wish to know more about Amane.

Both are kind of interested in romance in their own ways. (Read this analysis if u wish to understand what I'm talking about!)

In many official arts and even bonus pages, we can see them both parallelling each other in their own different way. (this. And the fact that Tsukasa is singing Over The Rainbow while Nene is wearing Dorothy's dress- I found it a nice similarity lol Also, singing duo.)

They are both equally chaotic. (In basically all official AUs, too! Especially in monster nursery AU, where Nene it's basically a Tsukasa 2.0 lol)

Both seems to really like puzzles games.

It may not really have much relevance, but I really love seeing how similar they are.

Their dynamics in each different official AUs is pretty nice to see, too! We have Father and Daughter dynamic, Rivalry dynamic, Friendly? dynamic, Friends? dynamic; Each different dynamic in each different AU. It's always interesting and fun for me to see them interacting!

Though, I have to admit that this ship wouldn't really work out in canon, since Tsukasa still have that demon inside him and both him and Amane are dead, while Nene is still alive.

Besides, Tsukasa sexually harassed her. I know that Nene apparently doesn't seem to think too much about it, but it was still sexually harassment.

Honestly, I feel like if Nene and Tsukasa had met under different circumstances with no demons or supernaturals in the mix, I feel like they would have be really good friends; Maybe even a sibling dynamic!

I just love to see my 2 favorite characters of all time interacting together.

Now let's go to... (Ama)HanaNene!

Honestly, do I even need to explain? They are canon. They are perfect.

Hanako's first love was Nene. Nene finally found someone who loves her for who she is. Nene is Hanako's first ever friend (most likely). They both genuinely love each other. They are absolutely perfect

It's practically canon, too, so I feel like I don't have much to say about them- But I'll try to say how do I feel about this ship!

Honestly, this is one of my top 2 favorite- Literally my comfort ship.

Their personality matches each other very well, and the way their relationship slowly gets their development through out the whole manga is actually really adorable!

I absolutely screamed and giggled like a lil' kid when I first saw their panel of them officially kissing; If u were there, you could clearly tell how happy I was when I saw them kissing after waiting for literal years. ❤

They feel mutual care, respect and love for each other; They would do anything for each other and that's clear.

Nene ran away with Hanako the moment they met again - She felt practically devastated when Hanako fell apart before her eyes. You can tell she cares a lot about him.

And Hanako literally sacrificed everything in his power to see Nene happy and alive, even if it meant trapping her in a fake world or sacrificing her own best friend.

Besides, the way they act around each other really feels like a really clingy and touch-starved couple. I love them.

I feel like I've never shipped a canon ship as much as I do now. HanaNene was definitely the first canonical ship in the whole world that I genuinely wanted to for them to be together and work out, and I never ever gave up on the ship even after years of shipping them.

They just make so much sense and I love them so very much. ❤

Though, this ship does has its flaws. I can see why some people doesn't really ship HanaNene.

Hanako already sexually harassed Nene. Even Nene herself said that many things that Hanako did to her was sexually harassment.

And Hanako is pretty possessive that even Nene noticed it; Whenever he feels jealous about Nene, he throws water at her or even threatens to turn her into a fish. He even trapped Nene into a fake world.

The thing is; Hanako himself said that no matter what Kou or the others say- He wants to be the one who saves Nene. Not Kou nor anyone else, just him being the one who changes her future.

The jealousy and possessiveness he feels around Nene could soon become a problem in the future.

Though, Nene also has her own flaws in this ship..

She often slaps him and, as much as Hanako often deserves a slap of reality to learn not to be selfish when it comes to saving Nene's life without thinking about the consequences of his actions for it, I don't think violence is the answer.

She also, for some strange reason, still chooses to admire Teru's presence even though she knows what he did to Hanako and what he planned to do to Hanako.

I understand that she doesn't feel any kind of romantic attraction towards him and all she feels is just admiration, but still... Nene, are you sure you don't feel any kind of resentment towards Teru after finding out what he planned to do with Hanako? Like, not even a little bit?

Although, if I'm only blaming Nene in this case, I would be being unfair, because Kou also doesn't seem to hold any kind of grudge against Teru even after seeing what he did to Hanako. What he almost successfully did to Hanako.

But then again, Kou and Teru are brothers; Nene and Teru are just friendly acquaintances...

I can't say anything either, since no matter how hard I try, I can't hold a grudge against anyone even after so much has happened. (I can dislike them, I just cannot hold a grudge nor hate them.)

Nene may just really have a heart of gold and be too naive for her own good, but still…

Welp- This ship has its ups and downs, its flaws and its goods; But, in my opinion, I still think HanaNene is still a pretty adorable ship. They still need some development on their relationship, though.

Now let's move on to... (Hanako-kun) Yugi Amane & Yugi Tsukasa! Not a ship btw!. Just analysing their relationship.

Honestly- I don't even know what to say, I just know that i love their sibling relationship so much.

Ofc, their sibling relationship isn't my top favorite, but I definitely love to see them interacting in such a healthy and normal way. Just them being the adorable twinnies they are.

I was always a sucker for healthy siblings relatioship, so you can tell how much I love those 2 dorks even though their relationship isn't my top favorite.

You can tell how much they love and care for each other; Of course they do, they are brothers after all! Though, I feel like their relationship is more deep and unhealthy than it actually seems...

Tsukasa seems to think that Amane hates him, which most likely explain his apathyness in leaving his family just so his brother could live.

Also, I can't be the only one who thinks that Tsukasa may hold some kind of grudge against Amane, right...? I mean, think about that;

Don't get me wrong, it is pretty clear as the sun that Tsukasa and Amane both mutually and equally care for and love each other, but I feel like that there are so many misunderstandings between them that they may have some negative feelings between them.

If u have/had a sibling, wouldn't you be mad if, even after everything you did for your sibling, they still decides to kill you? I think it would be a bit unrealistic if Tsukasa didn't feel even a hint of resentment against Amane for killing him.

The fact that it is revealed to us that Tsukasa is a yorishiro, and that Sumire - as a human yorishiro herself, had to experience her death in a total loop for God knows how long...

Tsukasa, for also being a yorishiro, probably had to experience his death in loop, too. And without any visits from his brother, either.

It's already bad enough that he was 'trapped' in the red house for decades, but he also had to put up with experience his death over and over again without even a single visit from his brother.

I don't blame Amane; He was probably too scared to face the brother he killed. Probably afraid of hurting him again.

But still.. Tsukasa had to endure all of that for decades, all for Amane. Tsukasa was willing to endure being without his family for decades, to endure having to experience his death over and over again, to endure all of this, just for Amane.

No wonder he went insane, especially with a demon inside him.

Amane also has his negative feelings towards Tsukasa; Imagine if you had killed your loved one without actually meaning to kill them? You didn't want to kill them, but you still killed them.

Amane probably feels immense guilt, so much so that it's probably why Tsukasa says it's been "10 or 20 years" since they've seen each other, implying that Amane hasn't come to visit him in decades simply because of the fear he feels.

There are a lot of people saying that Amane is afraid of Tsukasa, but honestly? I think Amane is afraid of himself. (Based on an analysis that I'm too lazy to try to find right now lol)

Amane is scared to face Tsukasa; Not because he is afraid of him, but of himself. He's afraid of hurting his loved one again. He's afraid of having to see Tsukasa's reaction; The person behind Amane that we saw in the opening (in 0:36) is not Tsukasa, but rather the immense guilt he feels.

He feels like someone is holding him, a person whispering all the bad things he did when he was alive, a shadow making him relive the memories of what he did to his little brother.

Basically; There are a lot of misunderstandings surrounding them that still need to be resolved, and there is their past for us to unravel, too.

Based on AidaIro's old works, it seems that they both really like complicated sibling relationships in fiction lol

I'm not sure if Jibaku Shounen Hanako Kun will have a happy ending for these two, but let's wait and see. xd

Now.. All of them together!

Alright... Honestly, I don't view those three in a poly relationship. More like a love triangle where both of the twins are in love with Nene and Nene is in love with them (sounds cliché, I know lol). I really feel umconfortable with the incest, honestly. - Saying that as someone who has also has a brother.

Honestly, I feel like they could be a really chaotic trio. They would get into every lil' adventure and trouble, honestly- lol

I don't have much to say about them, just that I really love their friendship. Like I said before; I feel like Nene and Tsukasa would be such good friends if met in different circumstances, and the platonic AmaNene/HanaNene is really underrated tbh lol

To be honest, there were times where it felt like HanaNene would be better off as best friends... And the platonic TsukaNene is such an concept that it's understandably loved by the fandom xD

In a platonic matter, I like to think that Nene would be a like a big sister or like a 'lost' triplet for them. They are all so similar to each other and I really love the friendship/sibling dynamic potential TsukaNene have, while platonic! AmaNene/HanaNene is such a reaaaally underrated concept.

For me, it's adorable to see all three of them just happily bonding like the chaotic trio they are. I love romance but I would choose the found-family trope over it anytime.

In my personal opinion, I think the platonic! HanaNene/AmaNene is much better than romantic! HanaNene/AmaNene... I still like the romance between them tho lol

In a romantic matter, however, I like to think that the twins are inlove with Nene only and not with each other, since it makes me highly umconfortable when that's the case.

Though, I prefer much more the platonic! HanaNeneTsuka. It just holds so much more power. lol

In a HanaNeneTsuka fic, I like to see the twins ready to fight each other for a girl's attention, but still willing to die for each other at the end of the day. They are twinnies and they love each other, no one, not even the girl they both like, can surpass that.

Final opinion; Platonic! HanaNeneTsuka solos. okno- Xd I love both HanaNene and TsuNene, in a both platonic and romantic way. HanaTsuka/TsukAmane makes me umconfortable, though I won't hate on people who ships them.

They all gives me chaotic good vibes, and I love it.

Platonic! HanaNene is underrated and I wish the fandom would stop with the romance for five seconds and appreciate the platonic.

Romantic! TsuNene have its potential to be a really nice and fun dynamic, I'm still wishing the fandom could be open-minded about it instead of losing their time in trying to force people into stop shipping them.

Weell.. I think that's it-? lol lmao i spent the whole day trying to finish this... Only for the HanaNeneTsuka part to look like it was rushed😭
