Yosuke had thought about it so many times before. He didn't belong here. He knew that from the start, but because of his dad's work, they were forced to move here and carry on as if nothing happened. As if he hadn't abandoned his old classmates in Sapporo. He still missed them. This was an old, backwater town with nothing to do.

That's what he thought initially. Before he met Yu and the others, he didn't think twice about running away and going back to the big city in order to pursue his dreams. But now... he had changed his mind, mostly thanks to his partner for always sticking by his side, and helping him decide what he should do for himself.

"Y'know what? Maybe it's not so bad over here... I've got you guys, my parents, Junes... you're special to me." He rubbed his nose, grinning. "Yeah... I'm not leaving until we solve this mystery. Hell, I didn't even know I could be useful till now. So, thanks. For everything. I mean it."

I uh went back to that dadske post and was going add a few more tags for flavor or context but I wrote toooo much so I'll just post as a text post instead. Yes, this is my hyperfixation and yes!! I do want to make my blorbo sad and miserable as all hell but I also need him to be loved relentlessly and made whole by his friends.

anyway Yuuko got her hair from her mother- and Yosk lets his hair return back to black because the wife hated him dying it. you can only handle so many years of being addressed as a disappointment before latching onto the fist person to express otherwise. (3 for 3! Get Saki'd, idiot!) then working too hard to do ANYTHING please that person (even though they might not really be the best person and are using you)

Go on boy, ditch your weird friends and your hobbies and things that make you happy and settle for the stable but soulless option of being a manager at a job you hate! (I am a firm believer in a "Manager of Junes Yosuke NOT good enrichment" after all.) Cause all thats embarrassing. dont you want me to be proud of you? The only person who's ever loooved you for you? (which is fundamentally untrue but when has depression or manipulation ever been rational?)

n/e/way one nasty divorce later and he's moving back to inaba for the cheaper rent for a place a that can actually fit him and a kid- and to be closer to his parents- hoping that maybe they would able to help out with the kid. Besides, he has an assured position at the Inaba junes. (the prodigal prince returns... return of the king... of junes)

BUT Surprise his friends are still there and Yu is too!! and yeah they're mad cause he basically evaporated but guess what? Yoosk isn't Yoosk anymore cause he's been drained of all his Yosuke colors.

Well, he can start through small things and reminders and food and Yuuko, which is proof that he's still there somewhere? After all, she's named after him.

I also need.... not JUST souyo but also the whole IT. Teddie and his niece bonding, Yosuke crying in some kind of relief and/or happiness when Kanji helps him dye his hair back again, Naoto helping him keep custody (so hard for a guy!!!) and Chie finally getting her usual banter back (thank god!) only for Yuuko to step up and kick Chie and forcing Yoosk to admit that what he and Chie have isn't antagonism (via explaining it to her)

Rise: *gentle gasp when she sees Yuuko* Tiny Yosuke. Yukiko, slamming her hand on the table and wheezing loudly: YOU'RE RIGHT.. SHE IS A TINY YOSUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then they gift her strawberry hairpins which she loves and it embarrasses him because oh god thats right-

Yu having to confront Yuuko's energy and be like "aw shit Nanako was easy in comparison" and Yosuke looking him dead in the eyes "I'm giving everything in order for her not to turn out like Nanako" which sounds bad at first (cause it's foot in mouth disease Yosuke still) but...

"What happened to 'partner', Yosuke?" "I don't think I deserve that, after disappearing and everything, huh?" & then Yu being too damn happy and giddy when it finally slips out.

i have not played any of the first two games (wow big surprise) but i think the ancient english localization from what i've seen makes it funny

ummmnmmn im having a time with p3 even though ive barely gotten past the first full moon event. i am very excited to meet god who might as well be obviously death itself and i know almost nothing bc ive blocked the p3 tag other than the fact a guy dies and thats why hes a dancing game dlc

p5 is also very fun!1! ive played the vanilla game on the ps3 when it was released (makes me feel old to remember how long ive been bullying akc) and played royal on the ps4 (sumi :crying: and maruki too maybe idk hes a Guy (affectionate)) but it took me a while to get started on p5s but i got to finish it and ichi and sophie and emma (BAWLING. ON MY KNEES. CRYING. UNINTELLIGIBLE. PAIN AND AGONY AND PROBABLY CHIPPED TEETH FROM CLENCHING MY JAW TOO HARD.)

Izanagi Challenge run part 1

Well here we are at the start, I’m starting a clean save and thinking over how I think this is going go.

My best guess is the start is going to be realitivally easy, not exsactly sure how far I’m gonna manage to get, my hopes is to at least beat Chie’s Shadow if not get about half way through the dungeon. She shouldn’t be too hard, but hopefully when I start getting Shuffletimes I get either a Dia card or if I’m lucky a Bufu to help with Yukiko’s Shadow in the future. Thinking about it I don’t see the early game being too hard especally Kanji’s Shadow but who knows what RNGesus has for me.

Middle game largely depends on the skillcards I can get but I can see it being a challege. and oh dear god I am not looking forward to the Amino-Sagiri fight that fight has been the bane of my existance in every other run and I expect no different now. Oddly enough I think I’ll be able to handle the last two bosses pretty ok long as I’m not stupid

I love the fact when you pick Very Hard difficulty the game warns you that you can’t change the difficulty, then immediately says ‘Relax and enjoy the game!’ No, No I’m here to suffer.

For the name I went with Yu Narukami for canon’s sake, I don’t normally use the canon name But might as well for this run.

I’m also not going to go over the story unless it’s somehow related to a dungeon, I find something intresting to comment on, or some way to make a joke. So your pretty much just gonna hear how the dungeon crawling’s doing and how much a boss is pissing me off. And I’ve also recently finished my NG+ Run of the game so Ya I’m gonna be fastforwarding and skipping a lot.

....I’m not the only one who wished in NG+ It was at least an option to ask Yosuke if he was ok when you see him crash right? As it is your a complete jerk to him by ignoring him when he’s in pain and distress twice before helping him out of the trashcan. AND BEST BOI DOESN’T DESERVE THAT SHIT!

Tutorial fight and huh, those shadows definately got a damage boost, ended up using a medicine before the boss...This can only mean good things.

At least Yosuke’s Shadow is an easy boss, weak to Zio meaning Izanagi can just zap him into submission, though he does use Winds of Oblivion which, is a wind skill which we’re weak to.

...I’mma just rant here for a second YOSUKE DESERVED HIS OWN DUNGEON!

Like I get why they did it on several levels, give you a party member before the first dungeon, teach you how boss fights are gonna work. I even get why they thematically did it with his Shadow appearing in Saki’s space.

The thing is though, it doesn’t work properly which sucks because they did it perfectly with Chie who also doesn’t get her own dungeon. Chie’s Shadow takes up residence in Yukiko’s Castle and it fits her issues *perfectly*.

Chie’s problem is her fagile ego, she thinks of Yukiko as being better then her so needs to keep Yukiko co-dependant on her to prop herself up. Which makes it thematically appropriate for Chie’s Shadow to be in Yukiko’s dungon. She views herself soo poorly and as being soo weak she can’t even form a dungeon and can only leech off of Yukiko’s, her ‘betters’ dungeon.

Yosuke....Ok...He...Tries to date Saki to deal with his boredom but...She isn’t the *core* of his boredom or resentment, that’s the town at large, if he saw Saki as a symbol for the town he’d hate her not want to date her. She was a means to an end and while Yosuke’s charicter arch does involve him working through his complicated feelings for her *their not why he formed a dunegon*

Just...I know we just got the Steam port but if Atlus ever does a remake of P4 In the updated P5 Engine, Yosuke deserves to have his own dungeon.

And my estimation of myself took a nose dive when not only did the Shadows of the tutorial fight deal way more damage then I thought, but Yosuke’s Shadow actually killed me...So much for him being an easy boss....

Second attempt I actually remember the tutorial Shadows are weak to Zio (I thought they where weak to phys hence why they got off enough attacks on me I ended up needing one of those medicines I needed for Yosuke’s fight) and Yosuke’s Shadow goes down since it has a pretty damn easy pattern along with it’s Zio weakness, just guard when it uses power charger and when it guards and you’ll be ok.

Anyway first team mate get and thanks to his boyfriend Privileges he will never leave the party.

For real though Yosuke is the only team mate who has wind skills other then Naoto who only has the single target spell (And you only get in October), has the best speed of all your team mates and is the most vercitle learning skills from pretty much every branch avaible to him, want him to be a healer he can heal, want him to be a magic power house he’s got you, wanna do physical he can do physical. His adaptiblity is really second only to the Protags with the Wildcard (Which we don’t have in this run) and I happily keep him at my side through the entire game.

Yosuke Social link go, Chie causing drama, basically filling time till you see Yukiko on the Midnight Channel then hijinks, getting supplys and heading to the castle.

I only got armour for myself and Yosuke and spent the rest on medicines since I...You know...Wanna live through the dungeon.

And I was right to do so as the first Shadow, a pises took out HALF MY HEALTH IN ONE HIT.

Also god damn it P4 Why do I have to manually switch Yosuke and the others to my control it’s soo goddamn annoying to have to do that the first time I use anyone.

First floor cleared and first skill card earned! It’s Tarukaja which...Not what I wanted and I just personally favor the automatic boost skills you can get. And the ones that offer a plus for using it like Yosuke’s Youthful Wind not only being a Sukaja but healing you for some of your health. Course he’s not going to get that skill till january. *Sigh*

About to face Chie’s Shadow and I deside to restore some of Yosk’s SP since he has Garu which she’s weak to and hope for the best, I really hope I’m not gonna have to grind the first floor for this...

First turn and she kills Yosuke. This is only going to go sooooo well.

It went ok...Till I got her into her low health animation and she killed me with a lucky Mabufu. Alright let’s try this again before I go back and....Attempt to grind.

And I got booted all the way back to the town....*Sigh* Least this means I get a reroll on that skill card...IF I get another one.

Which I don’t. *Sighs* and like a fucking IDIOT I forgot to restore Yosuke’s SP before the fight. At least since I resist Zio I could do a little the first turn and settle in for her attack loop.

This time I don’t even make it to her low health animation before she get’s a lucky crit and kills me with Bottomless envy. *Grumbles* Ok I’m starting to get frustrated so, Chie’s Shadow can be smug over her victory while I cool my head for today.

I agree with that post about yosuke- his treatment of Kanji was the biggest thing I disliked about Persona 4. I liked Kanji and still do 'cause come on its KANJI. Yosuke's character drove me crazy- he can get bent. (btw I really REALLY LIKE YOUR ART!! Its so rad- especially the linework. I'm just too hecka shy to talk to people but I wanted to drop this ask so anon it was! :D)

23: Biggest disappointment you've had in gaming? I mean WoW has been an almost constant disappointment in my life since Wrath ended. Like every expansion since save for Mists, weirdly, has just been super bad. Like holy fuck Warlords was sooooooooo bad and Legion is also soooo bad it’s fucking embarrassing for Blizz imo.Dark Souls 3 was kinda disappointing? Like it was still good because it was a Dark Souls game but like, I thought it spent too much time reminding us that the first game existed. Which was everyone’s gripe with 2 but 3 did it way more often and was way more obvious about it but is /apparently/ the better game of the two or some nonsense.

I haven’t played Civ6 but it looks bad. I just looked at it and it has disappointed me. How dare it.

The Nature of Stars

Persona 4 | Souyo | Rated T for Yosk’s mouth probably

It was a bracingly chilly night in late autumn, and it seemed like the only part of Souji that was warm was the hand that was holding Yosuke’s. They’d veered off the path toward their homes after eating out for dinner, opting to extend their time together as much as possible. 

They were sitting in the grass now, pressed close together, hands intertwined, and faces upturned toward the sky. It was a perfectly clear night, made impossibly bright by a nearly-full moon and a sky that was absolutely crowded with stars. 

Souji knew stargazing was supposed to be romantic, but even amidst the beauty only Inaba could provide him, he couldn’t stop certain negative thoughts from swirling around in his mind. 

Souji didn’t know what he’d done to earn Yosuke’s affection, so he was constantly paranoid that he would lose it someday. He was still just himself, after all—the same odd, boring self he had been before moving to Inaba—and Yosuke was bound to eventually figure out that Souji wasn’t really special at all. 

He felt like he was just like one of those stars overhead, but not in a good, sparkly way like Teddie, or in a dazzling, magnetic way like Risette. 

“Whatcha thinkin’ about, Partner?” Yosuke asked, propping his chin on Souji’s shoulder and staring at the side of his face.

Still gazing up at the sky, Souji said, “I feel like one of those stars. Cold, and distant, and unremarkable next to all those other stars. And when I’m in the city… invisible.”

Souji felt Yosuke readjust his head—felt the side of Yosuke’s jaw come to rest against his shoulder, felt Yosuke continuing to stare up at him… 

“Yeah, you are like one of those stars,” Yosuke said. 

Even though Souji was the one who had started it, he wasn’t exactly pleased to hear Yosuke agree so easily. 

Yosuke laughed a little though, pushing his index finger to the corner of Souji’s mouth, which apparently had been downturned in a frown. 

“Man, you’re really dumb sometimes, Partner. Did you forget everything you ever learned in science, Mr. Academics?” 

“What?” Souji asked, forcing his face back to its default neutral expression. 

“Have you ever gotten really close to a star?”

“I wouldn’t be alive if I had.”

“Well, from here, those stars might look distant and cold, but I’m pretty sure the closer you got to one, the more you’d realize it was the brightest, warmest, most fascinating, most special thing you’d ever seen.”

Seeing that Yosuke was trying to be sweet, Souji opted not to argue about how getting really close to a star and continuing to look at it would cause blindness and (again) death. 

“Yosuke, I—”

“No,” Yosuke interrupted firmly, using both hands now to grip Souji’s one hand. “I’m not gonna let you insult yourself with metaphors. Call yourself whatever the hell you want, and I’ll turn that shit around on you! You’re a damn star, and you’re the hottest thing in the sky.”

Souji found himself laughing in both amusement and embarrassment at Yosuke’s insistence.

Yosuke lifted a gentle hand to turn Souji’s face toward his own, and the jolt Souji got from maximum eye contact with Yosuke shocked the laughter right out of him. 

Yosuke said softly, “You’re better than every other damn ball of gas up there, Partner, and I know that because you let me get close to you, and I am the luckiest guy in the universe.” 

Heart pounding with anticipation and love and everything bittersweet, Souji asked, “And when I’m back in the city?” 

Yosuke answered, “No matter how many other stars I can see, you’ll always be the one I’ll look for. You’ll never be invisible to me.” 

Souji felt his insides warming, melting, thawing…  

“I love you, Yosuke.”

Smiling right in Souji’s face, Yosuke said, “That was really romantic of me, right?” 

“It was until you ruined it,” Souji laughed, and then he leaned in to kiss Yosuke. 

“Ow ow ow, you scorched me!” Yosuke exclaimed in fake pain, jerking away as if he had been burned by Souji’s mouth. “You’re too hot! You’re so irresponsible!” 

“Come here,” Souji demanded, wrapping his arms around a gleeful, flailing Yosuke and tackling him sideways. “That smart mouth of yours is about to get burned to a crisp!”
