(Aaaaaaaaa he wished me a happy birthday! I love Ai standing up for himself, honestly. I do. I love that he's clear and that he's direct and I know he shouldn't be making such a scene in public but damn I love it because it really is obviously that Yu wants to help and thinks he's helping but isn't.

I mean, the show is obviously not actually enemies to lovers because they're not enemies. And I enjoy that. I really enjoy that Yu thinks he's just strengthening their bond and playing on their friendship but also has to figure out what's going too far for Ai.

And this is what we mean when we say 'teasing is only good fun when everyone is in on the joke'. Because for all that Yu is trying to cheer Ai up, he's only making it worse.

But also the fact that it was Yu trying to apologize to Ai that almost get him hit by a car was even better because it is about how much Yu cares about Ai and thinks he's just being friendly and being a friend when he's actually hurting Ai's feelings and pushing him too far.

And what a good apology! Like, damn. That's a really good one and was obviously meant from the heart and even included a promise to try to be better. Just... so darling. Absolutely perfect. I already love them.

Yu has literally just been pulling pigtails this whole time and the show is saying 'you know that doesn't work right?' directly in his face. Very nice. I approve.

Something I really love about birth by sleep. The subtlety of why aqua was a master and the other two weren't.

Almost every world Terra is tricked by a villain. He can't tell a villain to save his life.

Ventus is better, but still isn't great at it. He helps good guys a lot. It's really mainly luck about who he encounters first. He believes villains a lot as well.

Meanwhile Aquas over here sensing darkness in people from the get go. Taking down the villains in practically every world.The Stepmother and stepsister just walk by her and she's immediately aware of their true nature.

It's not a huge thing, but it shows why Aqua is a master. Part of it probably is how hyper focused on their tasks ventus and terra are, while aqua is worrying about them and helping people.

I keep saying I need to pull back a little on writing Febuwhump, but the chapters just keep getting longer.
