I am in need of rp!Phil nourishment. And I just found out he's updating the hc carrd with new things about his hardcore world. It makes me hungry for mooorrrree...

So here's some of my headcannons about Phil's characters:

Looking back on it, I like to imagine eggza is q!Phil in his crow form 🤏 I'm a sucker for immortals with cute animal forms to transform into. I still like the idea/ find it hilarious that it's just him with the gas mask though

o!Phil and o!Sneeg has a cool little entrance they make anytime they introduce themselves. Kinda like team rocket

q!Phil would occasionally slip out crow noises whenever he's being affectionate. He only does this with his family but still finds it embarrassing. It's slips out more whenever he's near Missa :3

Whenever c!Techno and c!Phil hunts, they do it like wolves and ravens(?). Phil would soar I the skies and alert Techno if he found an animal(or someone hehe). Techno would then run towards the prey and get the kill

q!Phil loves head scratches. Idk. I saw a video of someone giving a crow head scratches and thought "yep, this will be a neat headcannon"

I think this was said somewhere else but i like the idea Phil's character does crow characteristics because he's observed crows for so long lmao

Another one that I think was said somewhere. q!Phil has a slight purple tint on his eyes eversince Enderking possesed him. BUUUTT the purple gets a lot more clearer whenever he's angry >:]

hc!Phil still tries to perfect his mechanical wings from that day(I like to think it's the flying machine) despite having wings himself now. He fears he'd one day lose the ability to fly and fall to his death again. And uhhh... Yeah...

Whenever o!Phil sees a scarecrow, he orders o!Sneeg to execute it. Sneeg just cuts it down. Phil calms down a bit but he's still afraid of being near the scarecrow 😭

And finally, hc!Phil had glasses but lost them. It's the reason he can't read smh /j

I had a lot of things to say but I've seen the same points re-iterated so I don't see the need to throw my hat into that ring BUT a point I haven't seen talked about that profoundly bugs me! Spoilers ahoy

The Varric reveal and how it's a symptom of the writings, in my opinion, greatest flaw.

The writing of Veilguard expects you to care about characters without giving the CHARACTER a reason to care. The game assumes you the player care, which is usually the case, so they just skip the necessary build up for it to work in character.

Varric and Rook have no introduction to each other. We start the game, launched into "they're friends". Rook cares about Varric but I don't know why. I didn't get to see them be friends. It's like i got launched into Inquisition at Skyhold, with my character already knowing these characters and having developed a relationship with them.

I love RP, you guys know this, so I engage with the RP elements to the best of my ability, making a character and trying to approach from different angles. I just didn't feel like I got that opportunity. Rook was already there, they already have a task, an end goal. They're already part of the greater plot without me. Other characters remark on their personality and deeds.

Other games in the series have done this but at least you got a little grace period to get to know them or shortcuts regarding establishing their relationship like them being a sibling ; and the game didn't hinge so much on them. DAO didn't hinge on Shani. DA2 didn't hinge on the lost sibling. They were aspects of the story but they are a small fragment of the plot as a hole. Varric ends up being a MAJOR cog in the story that our character grapples with and it rings hollow because I never saw them show why they care for one another.

If anyone should be mad it should be the inquisitor! Or Isabella! Or Dorian! They KNEW varric, we were THERE for that. We SAW that! But none acknowledge it. No one says anything about how this impacted them. Varric and Dorian have LETTERS back and forth. MAEVARIS IS HIS COUSIN.

Characters that SHOULD care don't. Characters that should care less, care a lot. It feels like the game assumes that the player loves Varric, and moves on. And it does this with a lot of Characters. You don't get to talk to the characters as much in this game, ask their opinion, get to know them, become friends. It's implied this all happened off screen. The characters are nice to you at the start and they're nice to you at the end. I barely saw any disapproval. Rook is one of 3 flavors of nice, and thus the characters are never challenged. I know people are quite critical of DAI but you could get to know the characters views - you could ask everyone on how they view the circles, the templars etc. I feel like I don't know this about Veilguard characters. I don't know where they stand on really anything, outside of being "good people". My Inquisitor didn't end up being friends with everyone but the game left room for that. Some companions did NOT like each other at all and the game accepted that, every game did - the conflict was PART of it. But in Veilguard, everyone is holding hands by the power of friendship.

The game just assumes you all care for one another without earning it, and it feels sad to me, as an RPer. After everything is done I can't even go talk to them and ask what they're going to do now. How they're faring. It's fade to black, and once again, the development is off screen and I am not part of it.

We need to talk about Niko

This girl would have got such a huge role in the next season. Her started the lost and found office, while somehow being in a time mess up. She probably made a huge character development. We would have got more of those silly spirts as her new assistants. Niko in the past working to help the present. That has a bit of Loki the series vibe to it somehow. Maybe she even got some supernatural abilities like the night nurse. Or did she created her? Real girl power was taken. And maybe this could have also lead to a relationship between Crystal and Niko because they realise their feelings by the lake of the other one. I want more lesbians in the media! But even old Niko is a whole cool topic. She knows her friends, but cannot tell them who she is. Maybe due to time problems. But maybe she could still help them in their cases.

Soooo many opportunity and ideas. Well now I would love to use them in fanfics or rps. (Guys, please make fanfics about Niko. She deserves that.)

Extra facts/writing character background lore below the cut

Don't tell anyone but she IS actually a hybrid, just very… diluted…

Coming at this as the omniscient creator of WaveSurfer, and how I drew her and the fact she was put in the hybrids category for the RP I’m using her in, she’s a diluted Night/Sea. Somewhere along the line, most likely her father’s side since the hybrid traits are non-existent outside her colors and slightly thicker tail, a Seawing is found SOMEWHERE. Which is funny given she was FOUND by Seawings in the middle of the Bay of A Thousand Scales and raised by them. It’s assumed the Seawing is probably either a great great grandparent, or great grandparent on her father’s side given how little is in her.

Now do we know who her father is, because who would miss a BRIGHT Nightwing with some.. ”weird traits” to every dragon? Not at all! But he’s probably still out there, maybe with the Nightwing he had WaveSurfer with…

Who knows, maybe there’s some Nightwing bums somewhere in the Seawing kingdom living a quiet life, or they moved back to the Nightwing kingdom. Either way, they don’t know what happened to their egg that ended up as WaveSurfer.

Fun Trivia

- There is much speculation in the village she grew up in amongst the Seawings there, and her adoptive parents. Half the village says she was purposefully abandoned, and the other half says her parents lost her at sea.

- She wears fake fins on her arms and tail to help her swim.

- One of her most cherished items is a pearl bracelet her adoptive parents saved up to buy her one hatching day.

- She is stronger than most other Nightwings unless they’ve been through extensive training due to needing to swim through the ocean, and easy access to an abundance of food from fishing.

- She is also smaller than most Nightwings her age, but is, in turn, larger than most Seawings her age.

- She can open her eyes underwater just fine.

- Her lung capacity is some of the best out of any dragon if we exclude Mudwings and their ability to hold their breath for an hour. It’s a lot like a free-diver’s breath holding, just maybe a bit longer for a dragon’s case.

- By the real life definition as basis and compared to the other tribes, she’s a Pescatarian. She actually really hates other meats after growing up almost eating exclusively a seafood based diet over other meats.

- Her favorite past time is body surfing

- (unseen on back) some Seawings that believe in the spiritual that see her say the starfish markings on her chest and back, right at the base of her tail, is a sign she is meant to be in the Seawing kingdom.

Dear Diary,

Young Dazai @thebandagedprodigy unexpectedly brought along young Chuuya @sacrificialsheepskull, the very boy who previously declared a desire to sever ties with Dazai... Naturally, I couldn't help but ponder what transpired that led to this reunion, though I refrained from probing further. It was reminiscent of that encounter with Chuuya in my own universe @the-real-chuuya, where he unleashed his corruption abilities. Back then I was worried. Thankfully, now I feel better equipped to handle such situations.

Zombie Dazai @gnawingonribs yearns to attend school but remains uncertain about what kind of education he seeks. His melancholic demeanour weighs heavily upon me. Despite my efforts, he seems lost in a sea of boredom and despondency. I’m at a loss for how to invigorate him. The changing scenery might help, but nothing appears to satisfy his restless spirit.

As if drawn by fate, I ventured into an unfamiliar universe, guided by @liam-and-co-ideas-universe. There, I encountered Aleandro Sinner, a mafia boss whose presence reminded me of my own. Our exchange traversed the realms of business and personal curiosity, and I found myself captivated by tales of his operations and his grand blimp. After I completed a task for him, he joyfully presented me with a bag of money - 100,000 to be exact. His enthusiasm infectious even amid his murky dealings. It was fascinating to realize that, regardless of the universe, power holds an enduring allure.

However, as I departed his world, I couldn't shake the feeling that our paths might intertwine again, perhaps fatefully so.

In my journey, I also learned from Alejandro that Liam @ask-liam-and-co holds a fondness for chocolate. Much like Fukuzawa @the-silver-wolf-in-the-dark, I set out to teach him how to skate on ice, and I was taken aback by his rapid progress. It was refreshing to witness his joy in learning, a contrast to the dark undercurrents surrounding my usual escapades.

Later, I received a threat from the Tokyo mafia @tokyo-kingdom. I was taken to Tokyo, where Angelina showed me the corpse of Miki @no-ones-sunshine. Before her journey, I advised her to tread carefully, only to learn now that she had tragically taken her own life. This news struck me with profound sorrow and anger. Angelina then escorted me back to Yokohama.

Further complicating matters, Angel @fuck-it-go-my-fyodor-rp-blog (a Fyodor from another universe) shared the news that Miki had returned from death. His resolve to rescue her ignited a flicker of hope within, yet I am apprehensive about Hirotsu @fallingcamelliapetals recognizing my desire to undertake yet another rescue mission independently. I fear his worry would overshadow my intent. I simply cannot bear to see him distressed. Yet Angel's urging weighs on me and I also want to rescue Miki.

On the other side I don’t want to hurt Hirotsu. It was enough that he got angry when I taught Fukuzawa to ice skate in public. I must admit that I had fun doing it. It was somehow nice to be close to Fukuzawa again. I guess there are some things I could never erase from my mind. On the other hand, I simply can’t compare Fukuzawa and Hirotsu. Hirotsu now knows sides of me that I didn't even realize I had. It feels so nice to be able to completely let go in his hands.

It's really incredibly difficult for me to put into words, but somehow Hirotsu touches something deep within my heart. There’s this vulnerable side of me that I’ve kept hidden and well-guarded for all these decades. In any case, it shows me how much I trust him. Damn, I love him so much… I would die for him…

For those unfamiliar with the Color Pie as an alignment system, they made some great posts here and here about it.

So. Um. I'd like to touch upon one of my personal favorite OCs in the context of this alignment system. Because I've found the alignment posts fun and there need to be more of them, and when @asteroidtroglodyte and others do not provide, I must roll up my sleeves and do it myself.

So without further ado...

Meet Iris Taria. (Image commissioned by a friend for an OC tarot deck project for a RP server I'm a part of. She's great, I don't know that she's on Tumblr though.) In short, Iris has went from White to White/Black to White/Blue/Black, and then (possibly; kind of up to interpretation, tbh) back to White/Black.

She's a RWBY OC, but I'll be paraphrasing and summarizing relevant details so that anyone can follow along, since the focus of this is the color pie as an alignment system, not RWBY. All you need to know is this: RWBY characters have a personal force field called 'aura' and a relatively narrow superpower that uses aura as fuel. But it's not common to be able to use either.

Anyway. Iris unlocked her superpower at an early age due to (essentially) a lack of OSHA compliance at her parents workplace. She came from a poor family that could not afford after school care for her, so she'd frequently hang out in the break area at her parents' workplaces. And, one day, when she was little, she was at the (for her) wrong place (her dad's workplace's break area) at the wrong time. (when someone knocked over a shelf of heavy stuff onto some people)

And in that moment, she unlocked and reflexively used her superpower: the ability to project her own personal shield over others, protecting them from harm. The catch? The pain is synced.

Well, when a workplace accident happens and one of the workers' kids happens to be there and randomly out of the blue saves some workers from workplace injury and or death, that... gets around. And so Iris was offered scholarships and tutoring and all kinds of other wonderful goodies to get her to hone her abilities and put them to work for profit. And, coming from a poor family, she'd have been a fool to turn down the opportunities lavished in front of her.

So she was trained and taught, growing up, from that point on, that she had a duty; that her ability to save people from situations that nobody else could meant that she was obligated to do so. It was the right thing to do, after all. She was indoctrinated into White to make her easier to wield as a tool by her likely Black superiors. (For those that did not read the linked posts, White is the color of morality, law, obligation, self-sacrifice, etc. and Black is the color of self-interest, power-hunger, greed, and selfishness)

And so she was used. Her superiors paid her well to use her abilities, allowing them to profit by cutting costs on preventative safety measures and insurance for mishaps. But she did not complain, for she was given convenient excuses; she had no reason to believe something was amiss, just that accidents happen. Until she saw some paperwork that wasn't meant for her eyes, and the whole illusion collapsed.

After a series of ineffectual confrontations, she left her employer (abandoning her former coworkers) and her home, using pay she'd saved up to take her family and close friends with her. Not long afterward, she realized a pattern; if she ever stayed in one place too long, if she ever let people become too used to her presence, people would get careless and reckless.

Her prolonged presence, thus, would eventually cause people to come to harm, and her White ideals could never permit that. She was obligated to save people, not endanger them. But at the same time, abandoning them isn't cool with her ideals either... leaving her somewhat lost as she left all of her connections behind.

She eventually found a place that was out of the way and reasonably respectful of her abilities (once she explained her situation) to settle down, and in many stories that'd be the end of her story. It wasn't.

At some point, someone decided it'd be a good idea to use her family (among others) as hostages to get to her. (and others) And in the subsequent brawl, she was unable to save her mother; the chaos was too much, her abilities were too slow, and she wasn't powerful enough to clear the field of threats in time. A failure that didn't just offend her White ideals, but also struck very close to her personally.

To her, the conclusion was obvious; she needed more power, so she was capable of saving more people, and in the mean-time, she had to make peace with the fact that some people could not be saved. As a result, she gradually grew more violent and aggressive, forcing herself to change so that she could pervert her power into a weapon with which she could both save allies and slaughter foes. Her answer to the impossibility of her White ideals was Black.

And this answer formed a fragile, but stable, foundation to hold her slipping White ideals, for a time.

Until she was confronted by something she couldn't answer with Black's raw power OR White's ideals, and others once again were injured. Someone that could punch straight through others' defenses; someone that both demanded her power (to mitigate the punch-through) and countered it (by burning her defenses down) at the same time. Someone who made her feel both weak and needed; a dissonance she'd not felt before.

This time, she needed a plan. She needed tools, and strategy, and all kinds of clever things to outmaneuver her foes rather than confronting them directly. But most of all, she needed control over the situation. She needed Blue; otherwise her White ideals would collapse atop her damaged Black foundation.

And so she became more obsessive and paranoid, not only hungering for power, but also control. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to save everyone, as was her duty. She marched on, doing what she must to save those around her from a dangerous world, becoming more and more destructive and more and more paranoid. Until she made another mistake. Killed someone she shouldn't have, in an attempt to simplify a chaotic situation into a simple, straightforward, and orderly one. A safe one. Or at least, that's how her Blue/Black parts justified it.

And she had consequences for it, though her allies were there to bail her out somewhat. But it made her reflect and realize that she didn't really know who she was. She'd given up herself entirely on her quest to prop up impossible ideals through brute force and paranoia.

And so now, she's trying to shed her paranoia, to accept the power she has for what it is, and to look beyond her duty for the self that she could have been... but she still has unfinished business and she needs power to finish it, leaving her in a really funny spot where she has tension between White/Black, but also perpendicular tension between Blue/(Red&Green) below it as she develops further as a person.

If others are interested, I'll do some more usual game-design type stuff and try to translate her character into some hypothetical cards?

I feel like everyone that gets into tsp has an au for their own interpretation and story, so minee uhhhhh I had a plan to make a whole fic + illustration series for it, but I dont have the time or motivation so I'm cool with infodumping. Actually, getting it all down now would make it easier to release content for it, so win win !!

SUPER LONG INFODUMP INCOMING

My au is mostly a character exploration of Stanley and Narrator after years in isolation before it starts getting meta. From adjustment to their new lives, to the evolution of their relationship through insanity, and finally discovering the truth of their world to break free.

The first few chapters are dedicated to Stanley's adjustment from his real life to the game. Chapter 1 follows his daily routine, his commute, his entrance into the building, and suddenly, the silence of his branch. His job wasn't very interactive in the first place, inputting what he was told into spreadsheets or other, but simply pressing buttons is a gross simplification of it. The oddity of the situation hits him, and the narration begins. Truthfully, the Narrator's words align with his thoughts, so while he is uneasy, he does as told because he'd do the same. The Freedom Ending is full of revelations and emotions as he reflects on his life, corners of the office he hadn't seen. Stanley steps outside, the daylight grows brighter, and he resets. Following this is Stanley's spiral through emotions. He doubts the voice in his mind being his own, looks everywhere for clues about his situation, inputs into the pink screens and tests out the story slowly. From barely diverting to a room or two in anxious desperation, to completely opposing the Narrator in anger and spite, Stanley branches into every ending plus some. While it's true that his life had fallen into monotony, the Narrator mocks and berates him not only through dialogue, but through the contents of the world. The building became nothing but a maze of halls, his capabilities as a human limited to button-pressing, his ability to speak lost completely. It was as if The Stanley Parable was made solely to mock his existence. The Narrator and Stanley battle for control of the situation. Stanley reclaims his pride and autonomy through defiance and causing the Narrator suffering while the Narrator retaliates. However, the Narrator always seems to default to wanting a good ending for them both and fulfilling his goal of greatness and artistry. Stanley soon grows to realize this as their time loops progress, and with time, conflicted feelings for the Narrator give in to gratitude and solace in their isolation. (I remembered I had this RP with myself midway through writing, so this might be the best place to put it. Stanley's going through the wringer with his emotions, and at a point, you can get too exhausted to feel what once enveloped you so intensely. Between his anger and his gratitude, there was definitely points of exhaustion. Additionally, even as he "gave in" to the game, he was still exploring every inch, wondering about the true nature of their existence.)

Stanley never would have regained his ability to feel if not for the Narrator. If anything, he should be grateful that his lonely life was brought to someone's obsessive focus. He wouldn't have overcome his anxiety to adhere to instructions, wouldn't have dared explore outside what he was expressly given permission to. Wouldn't have felt so intensely with fear and wonder and anger and self-actualization. He had them to thank. And only them. For years. They only had each other. They couldn't help it that it naturally evolved into something more. Stanley's fear of the situation evolved to desperation once he realized the pattern. Desperation for an exit to insanity for what his life had suddenly become. Insanity to anger, focused onto the source of it all and the mockery of his life. Anger to understanding as the Narrator's intentions became clear to him. Understanding to gratitude. Gratitude to adoration. Adoration to obsession. So on. And the Narrator notices these changes. The Stanley Parable in their eyes isn't a mockery, but an artistic piece and aid dedicated to Stanley. For some reason, even unknown to them, they're very attached to Stanley from the start. While upset to see their piece ripped to shreds by Stanley's choices, in the end, Stanley grows bolder, more expressive, and the Narrator loves to see it. All of this development is slow and takes place within the decade before the next game installment. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is introduced to Stanley in the midst of their odd relationship. Not quite a thing, not quite hidden from each other. They've grown into this routine of cycles, and by now, their endings and interactions with each other far outnumber those in the game. When the new content is added, Stanley doesn't know how to feel. The Narrator had been developing it behind the scenes with unknown outside help for a while. Stanley had long given up on interacting with any other sentient beings ever again, so the new content is overwhelming and scary in that sense. The new stimulation is welcome, but new characters? Even hints of an outside presence, seeing the meeting room covered in notes and speculation over collectibles from unseen employees freaks him out. The need for connection leads him to attaching to these inanimate objects, much like his bond with The Adventure Line. The way humans find comfort in one another through touch and interaction is the same way Stanley feels over the Bucket. Stanley eventually comes to realize that the unknown and overexaggerated connection he felt to it was true. The Bucket is a person. In fact, the Adventure Line is a person too. The Wife mannequin is a person. The Settings is a person. That Cardboard Baby was probably a person too. Who knows. Stanley pieces this together from outside reviews of the game, the story of Employee 432, and the Curator. The company he worked for is the same developer of The Stanley Parable and it ran experiments on its workers and environments in plain sight. The Stanley Parable is an interactive recording of the pocket dimension created by these experiments with Stanley's own experiences being put onto store shelves.

There's a whole subplot with the Settings gradually forming a bond with Stanley as well, and it comes to a head when Stanley attempts to escape with the Narrator. Stanley and the Narrator have a heart to heart about everything. The Narrator feigned ignorance to the Escape Pod Ending, but now knowing everything, Stanley wants to escape more than ever. Without him, this fake world can't exist, and all these people will be freed with them. The Narrator gives in with some time, final reviews of their work together, but for some reason, Stanley remains. The Settings wants to make their time endless, but the world rots without the Narrator there, and the Settings eventually has to let go. Stanley wakes up again in his office. He fears that the game isn't over, but stepping foot outside his door, he hears the rustling of objects, the voices of people, and he stumbles through the office, now back to its original form, with all his coworkers within it. It's awkward knowing they've seen so much of him, and over a decade in isolation has destroyed his ability to interact, so Stanley avoids them all in a mad search for the Narrator. When they finally lock eyes, Stanley doesn't know what to feel, but he feels his voice come out for the first time in forever, and he cries. Everyone sets off to reclaim the lives they've lost, wishing Stanley and the Narrator well as the two awkwardly return the gesture. The Narrator, for once, is at a loss for words, and they part ways before exchanging contact information. Stanley stays with his parent for some time, lost and haunted with his experiences, and the Narrator reclaims what he can of his old life, spending many days waiting by the ruins of their company building for anyone who might return. It doesn't take long for Stanley to come back. Living in the real world again is overwhelming, and he took it a day at a time with the help of his family. Coming back to find the Narrator, Stanley shares everything. While it isn't their fault, he can't just forgive them for everything. His feelings are torn all sorts of ways, and they settle with staying friends, there to help each other acclimate to life again with everyone else, but mostly each other. They make it official after some time. Even though it isn't the best decision. They can't let go of everything or each other, so it's a very codependent type of relationship despite how it looks on the outside.

There's a lot of details I left out obviously. There's a whole Curator and Mariella plot, even more details about Stanley and the Setting's dynamic, all of the secrets in the game that Stanley experiences and their corresponding emotional developments, more character exploration for the Narrator and more of how the world worked (The Narrator was actually an invisible floating mass btw), I COMPLETELY FORGOT THEIR IRL RELATIONSHIP BEFORE THE GAME JESUS. But yeah, that's the gist of it. I'll definitely make more content of it soon.

A few plots:

1. A fated prince/knight situationship in which the knight is magicked to be *immortal (some restrictions apply*) and spends most of his time in a vault sleeping, awakening only when the current monarchs are in gravest need of his protection. He's roused too late this time, however, and the kingdom is almost utterly razed to the ground- only the crown prince is left alive, and needs to be rescued. No preference who I write.

2. A cocky, second-rate magician summons a cocky, second-rate demon and binds them together (accidentally, or by making a deal) and now they're stuck with each other until they can absolve the bond. Urban modern fantasy, I don't have a preference who I play, but bonus points for a 'brat with self worth issues x annoyed dom who'll bully him into loving himself' type dynamic and for that I'd love to write a dom wizard.

3. A prince who's country was seized by an enemy has had to grow up with a false identity to avoid being killed. When said enemy captures him, they don't know who he is and turn him into a slave to fight gladiator style for their amusement. He's plucked out of this life by the only person who recognizes him for who he really is: the cruel prince of the enemy nation. Enemies to lovers. This is a blatantly Captive Prince inspired plot but it's not required reading. No preference who I write.

4. A kidnapped prince is being smuggled over the mountains to an unknown fate. He finds an unlikely rescuer in a ranger and his pack of dogs, and manages to break free with their help, and the discovery of his own latent magic. However, getting back home is another story; as it turns out, wild men of the mountains don't care much for princeling waifs ordering them around. Enemies to lovers, dog & cat coded, low fantasy wilderness. No preference who I write.

5. FxF. In a world where vampires used to be considered vile animals to be exterminated, and has just begun trying to integrate them into human society as equals, a newly appointed vamp watchguard meets a former vampire hunter who now works at a senior home that houses elderly vampires. The two struggle to see eye to eye, yet inexplicably begin to fall for each other as they learn the other's history. No preference who I write.

Which builds are u using for urself and the companions on wotr :0 ive been meaning to try out the game and ur posting gave me motivations

crpgbro on youtube has an insane number of build videos and while i have watched more than i’ve actually tried out, i’m immediately having so much fun with my druid that i won’t hesitate to recommend them. and just the sheer number gives you a lot of cool ideas to start from, including a couple variants for most companions

my only caveats would be that each build for the main character is designed for a particular mythic path, which if you’re not familiar, is a route your character takes throughout the game gaining the abilities of a mythic creature like an angel, demon, lich, trickster, etc. it’s a big part of the storytelling as well as the gameplay, so it doesn’t necessarily leave you the most rp versatility especially if you’re new to the game and don’t know what direction you’re going to want to head. the builds are also a little min-maxy so there’s an overall preference among the builds for, i don’t know, humans with the pickpocket background, and a lot of strength-based damage dealers no matter the class, and having access to an animal companion, etc. etc. just because certain things happen to do well in the game. which can feel restrictive, for character building

however he’s building for the stupidly high difficulties so if you’re a regular person playing normal or lower difficulty like me, tweaking it for what you want to play seems absolutely fine. i didn’t play a human for my druid so i totally lost out on a bonus feat that would’ve been really helpful for the first couple of levels and you know what? it was literally fine. and as far as i can tell the mythic paths will have a little something for everyone, even if the synergy isn’t perfect to get the Best Build Ever if you go off the road

but he’s not the only one, there are plenty of builds and build advice givers online if you just start looking. not as vast resources as for something a little less niche, but plenty. it helps the wild variety in the character creator feel a little less overwhelming!

if you don’t want to stick tightly to a build, the most important thing i’ve learned about pathfinder compared to the dnd system in bg3 is that in bg3, feats are a fun little occasional flavouring, whereas in pathfinder you get way more feats but the correct feats are fundamentally necessary to being a good caster or archer or dual wielder or whatever. so the important thing is figuring out the feats that are necessary for your play style. which is easy enough to figure out if you look at a few builds. and honestly i kind of like that because it feels... more real? like for example your archers need a bunch of highly specific skills to be functional in a fight, like a feat that stops them from having a penalty picking out a target who’s in the middle of a melee scrum, and nobody without those skills could just pick up a bow and do what they do. it feels more earned, somehow? but that’s just me putting more storytelling weight on it than there is as always haha

BEST EXPERIENCE: The first couple weeks after really talking about character motive/interactive style. I think I do my best writing here, which I why I try not to be no neglectful of this blog.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: Callout posts; they don't make sense to me and in this day in age especially, they've lost majority meaning. That's it, but I'm sure there's something on that confession's blog I've sneered at.

MUSE PREFERENCES: Gravitate more toward occult/criminal types because it's easier on the characterization. Huge fan of crossovers/new worlds so almost any muse to me is on the table. I've warmed up to Real face claims, but if an RP is depicting the actor/singer it's a no go.

PLOTS OR MEMES: Memes, sometimes I turn them into a thread but I always approach with the expectation that plotting is a double edged sword. Most of my longer threads have little narrative forethought but a lot of great introspective replies.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Lately short (2 para, university sucks) but normally 3 para-novella.

bcuz i lost most of my rps due to quotev being a twat, i decided to start rping more on here. so i wanted to make a post so other rpers can reach out to me.

below will be my rules/requirments as well as a list of fandoms. please follow them all if you wish to rp with me. and if you're interested in rping, feel free to comment or message me.

ROLEPLAY RULES:

- descriptive/story/literate rp only. i'm not interested in rping script/text. 

- i only do double up rps. I’m not interested in just rping the canon character or original character for your rp. I don’t enjoy it and I want to actually be apart of it. rather than just play the love interest to your character.

- oc x oc or oc x cannon mainly. for my side. i usually only do oc x cannon esp if we're doing a fandom rp. obviously i would do oc x oc for an og rp. but if you'd rather do oc x oc, cannon x cannon for your side i'm fine with that. 

- it's very rare for me to do friendship based (platonic) rps, as i would like my side to be romantic. but if you want your side to be platonic, i can do that. 

- please try to copy my reply length to the best of your abilities. i need at least a paragraph or two.

  - i will not accept mary/gary sues. if i believe your oc is a mary/gary sue i will let you know. i do not mean to offend, i just find them annoying and wont enjoy the rp if your oc is like this.

Ok, I'm gonna be really real with this one since it's the last one in my inbox... AND it's been bothering me for weeks...

Excessive validation/interaction seeking... is not a good look. Like I get it, you have down days you need reassurance on your portrayal or maybe some validation for an OC.... but daily talk about how no one want's to rp with you, constant negativity on the dash, begging for compliments- and I dont mean on occasion... I mean like... literally daily...

That's not a good look. Begging for interaction and complaining constantly is more likely to get you followers lost than followers interacting. A lot of people do want to write with you, but don't want to feed into the behaviors you're putting on the dash. Send asks, make starters and tag people. But if most of your posts are ooc and you make no effort to actually write with the people who reach out... or like... idk if people give you validation and you just turn around and keep begging for more? You're only making the people that stepped up for you feel like they don't matter.

Its OK to feel down, it's OK to need to seek validation every now and then- but guilt tripping your dash is not how you get MORE interaction. Its how you burn your current followers and nuke your ability to get new ones. People who are here to write, want to WRITE they don't want to baby you every day just on the off chance you'll reply. LISTEN to the people that hype you up. Bc the more people you shoot down, the less people will come back to hype you up the next time you need it.

The fact that people follow you, means they want to write, and if they want to write it means they think you're good enough. If you need validation RB a portrayal meme every other week or so, tag the positivity and save them to look at the next time youre feeling down. Filling up dashes with ooc begging posts wont get you more interaction... sorry but it wont.

I see this from a LOT of new/recent blogs as of late and it makes me cringe every time. Just relax guys. It's not that serious. Love the followers you have, write with them, let them hype you up... you'll grow as a writer and a person. I promise. Excessive attention seeking will only LOSE you interaction.

Ok I just realized I have 3 Keitos for @silentstaresfanficandfanart’s Keitoverse so we’ll knock over the easy ones first before I get into the one that none of y’all are ready for (also most of these are just rough sketches gomen)

1) Pokemon Starter Keito

Pretty self explanatory, a starter Pokemon based off of Keito for my Pokestars AU where all the pokemon are based off of enstars idols. Here in order we have Driplet, Dropbliss, and Rainaga. A water type starter obvs that is Water/Psychic in its fully evolved form ^-^

2) Sonic Keito

This one’s been hiding in my sketchbook for a while but this is Keito the Snake. I never fully fleshed out this Keito’s backstory but he was essentially an experiment to revive the Ancients from Sonic Frontiers. His limbs are water limbs similar to the Pokemon version above but have a closer resemblance to Chaos and/or the Ancients.

And now the third one which will take a heckuva lot of backstory so I’m putting him under the cut

3) Scriptwriter Keito

This one is integral to the lore behind my crossover rp/ask blog @supe-of-lirema that I've been ignoring but this one is essentially a "ghost in the machine" for lack of a better term: A Keito who is omniscient/aware of all other alternate Keitos and lives in the background as a silent observer. This Keito is also aware of alternate universes and timelines such as the Pokemon universe, Sonic universe, Undertale, etc.

I feel like my descriptions may not do him justice so I added hypothetical flavor text for a hypothetical boss fight enjoy:

The cruelty of winter gave birth to this Dark Gaia Spawn. It goes by many names, such as the Dark Moray or Mizuhanome. It whispers in the freezing gales of those lost to time and space, yet these whispers can also resemble those who are dear to you.

According to urban legend, this creature was once an ordinary human from somewhere else. From the moment he could think, he studied the intricate fabric of time and space, eventually granting him the ability to see into the future. Despite having infinite knowledge of the cosmic streams of the universe, he could only see betrayal and a cruel fate awaiting him.

Overwhelmed by a future that he could not control, he turned to the moon and begged for it to give him a new life. Even then, this did nothing to change his future, and his anxiety only grew. Soon, his closest friend learned of the secret knowledge he possessed and tried to steal it for himself by stabbing him in the back. With his cruel fate sealed, his last breath mixed with the winter wind and transformed into the dark beast we know today, swallowing his former friend whole.

Also size comparison because this thing's supposed to be huge, the Dark Moray/leviathan form is his true form while he only takes on the human ghost form to those he trusts.
