Yeah, I know I said I'd keep quiet about it because I plan on ignoring the ending. I've done it plenty of times, even with books I consider my favorites. "Oh this book is so good, it's one of my faves... How does it end? I don't remember." I'm going to do that with jjk because I've done it more times. Anyways.

Seriously, where's the character development? Why dedicate an entire chapter to showing how much criticism affects you and making excuses for your narrative instead of fixing it? Gege could have written about the characters and their problems, their worries, their evolution even while talking about how the politics of jujutsu world are changing rn.

What are Nobara's thoughts right now? There could have been an entire chapter dedicated to her character to fill in the gaps and finish defining her, what about her mother? How does she feel about her childhood friends? What are her plans now?

What about Megumi? Yeah, seeing him laugh was therapeutic, but honestly his character hasn't had the development/ending I expected. The timeskip was weird, his acting is literally the same as the beginning of the manga. It feels like I'm reading the same person who appeared in chapter one and not a traumatized boy who is learning to live. Where is Itadori teaching him that it's actually worth moving on? Where's the whole PTSD thing I'm sure he has? (fuck megumi haters btw fuck them, and fuck the way they victim blamed a kid). What are his thoughts about Gojo? About Sukuna?

Yuuji... Our mc. I was expecting to see him mourning Choso, mourning Gojo. But no, apparently it's more important to explain that there was a secret society (lmao) than to have him show respect and tears for those people he loved. His family, who he never got to spend time with, and his sensei, who decided not to execute him and who taught him almost everything he knows. I wanted to see him taking his friends to the movies to see some B-movie horror instead of going through the horror of watching characters insult him and tell him that it's better if he were dead.

And yes, I know there are two chapters left and some of the things I mention here might appear, but we've already wasted our time with one chapter, that's many pages. There won't be time to fix whatever is this. I feel bad :/

Now, one of the things that bothers me the most is that there are characters that were implied to be dead and now suddenly appear alive. I thought this was about letting the new generations create a fair world, but no. Do you know which character bothers me the most? Mei Mei. No, I'm not against someone writing sa/csa in fiction as long as it's not romanticized (I accept the unreliable narrator because that happens a lot irl and it's sad). The thing is that Mei Mei literally embodies the values ​​of the jujutsu world. In the jujutsu clans there was everything, sexism, abuse, neglect and most likely incest since (at least that's how I see it) they are like the monarchies of the Middle Ages. Mei Mei is the embodiment of all those rotten values ​​that Gojo hated, that the new generations are destined to eradicate. Seriously. What is she doing alive? Take her out rn. Gojo didn't die for this.

I read someone saying that maybe the point of this chapter isn't to break the cycle, but to repeat it. I have to say that I'm a big fan of that trope! It reminds me that humans repeat the same mistakes, but even if that were the point I think it wouldn't be well written.

There came a point in the story where both options: love is worthless and love is worth it were acceptable by the end of the manga. This is the ending where love is worth it, but why hasn't anything changed? The characters we saw in 269 are almost exactly the same we saw in chapter number one.

If this is a story about how love is worth it, accept the consequences and write characters who, thanks to love, move forward and build a new world instead of neutralizing any kind of development

(Quick disclaimer for this one, none of these are supposed to reflect on the irl racers that gave their names and voices to them - I'm treating these characters as though they're entirely fictional and not based on/inspired by real people. I make my HCs literally just based on Vibes (and RPs))

Jackson Storm:

6'1 and fit AF. Clearly spends a lot of time in the gym toning his body and muscles. He is male model levels of gorgeous. Physically flawless black man <3

Short black dreadlocks dyed blue at the ends.

Aromantic (female-leaning)bisexual.

Autistic.

Ray knew he was autistic before Jackson even knew himself, and is the reason he even got diagnosed in the first place.

One of his most common complaints is still about the reflections of the sun glinting in his eyes. The loud noise of the track still gets to him occasionally, but he has special earplugs to help him deal with it.

Can usually be seen drinking a can of IGNTR's flagship energy drink before a race. It helps him calm down and focus in. His sponsors love it, for obvious reasons.

Any time he's on camera, he acts calm and cool but internally he's freaking out. If they ask something he doesn't expect, he visibly tenses up and flounders for a second as he tries to figure out what to say, even if it was a simple question.

Doesn't do fan meets or signings unless he absolutely has to. Even then he tries everything he can to get out of them.

His physical attractiveness makes his already poor attitude even worse. Doesn't know how to talk to people, but gets all the praise and attention he could ever want online.

Yes, he posts photos of himself on various social media. He wasn't sure at first, but Ray convinced him to start shortly after his debut race, hoping that it would help reassure him and give him a bit of a confidence boost. Naturally, it went a little TOO well...

He's a gamer through and through. In any downtime he gets, he's still topping the leaderboards on just about every popular racing game you can play online. He also enjoys the occasional game of CoD and will verbally rip anyone to shreds if they try to come at him.

DUBSTEP. He loves it. If his skull isn't rattling from absolutely filthy, grimy bass, he's not interested.

So, of course, he has to have an incredible sound system that's probably worth more than the average person's car.

He doesn't watch anime. (Stop asking him if he does) Most of his entertainment comes from Twitch streams.

He streams himself playing Super Corsa 4 any chance he gets. Which isn't often with the packed NASCAR schedule, but he tries his best. His user is UrStormChasing

Still doesn't get along with Tim after their rivalry in training and isn't very good at pretending he does either. Their crew chiefs have to make deliberate efforts to stop them from running into each other before they get into their cars.

Cruz Ramirez:

5'5 with an athletic build. She is a Latina woman with visible abs and she deserves them gdi.

Side-parted brown hair a little shorter than jaw length, perpetually kinda wild looking.

She's teaching Lightning to use social media more regularly (for better or for worse). His homework is to send her a funny meme or video that he found that week.

Almost every race, there's someone complaining about how she doesn't weigh enough and it's unfair to the rest of them. So she forces them to watch as race officials put extra weights in her car.

Is probably the only person on Team Dinoco that is actually nice to Cal and doesn't try to tease him. They get along well.

Tim Treadless:

6'0 with a broad frame and light muscle tone.

Tanned skin and tousled brown hair.

Straight ally.

Just call him Mr. Charismatic, everyone loves him.

Everyone except Jackson, that is. Jackson is the only person who brings out his anger to the point of wanting to throw hands.

Has a wife and a baby, bc of course he does.

One of those guys some people hate for being irritatingly perfect. Usually people that don't actually know him.

Has type 1 diabetes and a bad nut allergy.

Was pulled out of a race at the last minute when he went into anaphylactic shock - the entire race was almost stopped when people started to whisper that it was foul play. The race went on, but the only reason for Treadless' absence was that he had to be pulled for "unforseen medical issues".

Some of the other racers still blame Jackson, who actually had nothing to do with it.

Danny Swervez:

5'10 and fairly slender. Not a lot of bulk to him.

Tanned skin (he's Latino) and short black hair.

Cishet male.

This man is FULL of himself. What an attitude.

Genuinely a good racer, but not many people like him.

He's not a good guy. He's given Cruz some trouble for being a woman, though after she embarrassed him by publicly cussing him out in Spanish, he's learned to keep his unpopular opinions on her to himself.

Isn't exactly what we would call "faithful".

But hey, at least he doesn't cheat on the track (smh)

Has just as little respect for the older racers as Jackson, but is less vocal about it.

Is very bitter about Jackson and Tim being more popular than him, yet still does nothing to change himself for the better.

Has at least attempted to physically fight with other drivers that messed with him on the track several times.

Chase Racelott:

5'9 with a build somewhere between Danny and Tim.

Pale skin and dirty-blonde hair.

Straight ally.

Generally a pretty likeable guy. Not as well-loved as Tim, but he has a good amount of pretty dedicated fans.

Makes jokes about being single/available.

Has pretty average performance on the track, not great, but not poor.

Fairly high energy, he gets along well with Cruz.

Probably one of the best with kids. Has a lot of younger fans because of how he interacts with them during meets and signings.

One of the few who will try not to leave until he's spoken to every fan who wanted to meet him, no matter how long it takes.

Often seen hanging around with Ryan - the two of them cause some pretty good natured trouble together, often involving pranks on the other racers.

Ryan "Inside" Laney:

5'11 with a broad build similar to Tim.

Mixed race (¾ Caucasian, ¼ African American), with short black hair.

Closeted bisexual.

Friendly, but not really a standout character as far as the fans are concerned.

Kind of cocky, but in a cool way.

Has a girlfriend who travels with him.

Agent of chaos when he spends too much time with Chase. Don't turn your back on him.

Bubba Wheelhouse

Absolutely massive 6'2 gentle giant

Another gorgeous black man (fight me), his skin tone isn't quite as dark as Jackson's

Closeted homosexual

Has a fake relationship with a lesbian woman who's actually just his best friend (the racing world is scary and the US South probably wouldn't love an openly gay driver)

Kids ADORE him. Him and Chase are the drivers with the most kid fans.

Throws a football around with fans over the catch fence during rain delays (this one is based on the real Bubba Wallace bc its wholesome af)

Gets asked all the weird gay questions by everyone in the friend group. (Ex. "Is it gay if...?" "What is X actually like?")

listen, I'm not being dramatic at all when I say most people don’t know how exhausting being a fanfic writer can be. I mean I understand why they tend to think it’s an ‘activity we do in our free time’ where we just sit in our beds in front of our laptops and type something away when we’re bored. thing is, I wish it were that easy. but it’s not. sometimes we spend hours doing research, sometimes — most of the times — it takes us so long to think of words to form a sentence, because the sentences/dialogues you see in a fanfic aren’t the same as a conversation we have with people irl in our daily lives where we don’t have to worry about whether or not it’s ‘smooth’ or ‘in-character’ or ‘aesthetically satisfying’ enough. that one sentence you read in a fic could take the author so long to come up with, to craft the words and put them together, and as someone who also writes, this isn’t an exaggeration at all. I could say “he saw a girl with her mom today, and thought of his own mom because he missed her” to you as a normal irl conversation, but once I put that in my fic, it turns into “His eyes landed on a little girl, she couldn't have been older than six. She was with her mother, and they were both smiling. A soft smile tucked at the corner of his lips then, a wave of nostalgia washed over his heart as his memories led him back to his mother’s home, when he was little. He hadn’t seen her in so long, but he remembered the scent of her morning coffee; warm and cozy, just like her hugs.” and I'm not talking about the constant feelings that your works are never over. because once you finished a chapter or a one-shot, that you worked on for so long, and posted it, you’re almost immediately hit with the feelings that you have to start working on your next fic right now, otherwise you’re not being productive enough, and all your self-worth comes from how much/how fast/how well/how often you write. so instead of rewarding yourself with a night without any writing where you can give yourself a nice relaxing bath or binge watch a show or any other thing you enjoy doing, you start writing something new. and it’s just so exhausting, but we do it anyway.

now imagine you doing all of this. so other people can read your works. for free. while you’re also busy with work/life/your actual job. you get nothing in return — from pulling an all-nighter for 3 nights in a row, just to finish a chapter of your fic — except kudos and comments.

being a writer who published original works as their main source of income is super cool, of course, but it’s sad how fanfic writers are often seen as less than ‘actual’ writers when I've read a lot of fanfictions that were better written than an actual published novel. a fanfic writer is as much of a writer as any other writer who writes and publishes their original works as their main source of income.

anyway, my point is, we as fanfic writers don’t make any money from our works. we do it simply because of our love for the characters in the fandoms we’re in. please please please please always show your appreciation to your favorite authors by giving them kudos and commenting on their works. if you’re shy or if you don’t know what to comment, just say ‘I enjoyed reading this so much’ or ‘I liked this chapter so much’ or how reading it made you feel; it can be ‘this made me cry. thank you’ or ‘I smiled to myself while reading this *inserts a part or a dialogue from the fic* thank you for writing this’. literally anything. even if the authors don’t respond to you, I can guarantee you that they read your comments and it made them smile and they appreciate your support more than you know. literally comments are also what motivate them to write more fics for you to read.

Related to Q/T (not very Dream sympathic even though I'm a big fan) : I doubt it's for clout, Tommy has always been pretty consistent about doing what he likes.

I think it's just simply what happened for all the streamers (Q, Slime, Phil, Tommy...) and that's why the skit is like that, bc it's what happened for them. Because I really don't see Tommy just switching on his friends, especially not for clout.

BUT, and that's what is so terrible about this situation, they just don't get how much hatred is throwned at dream fans and Dream himself ? Like, for them it was a "Q didn't say anything bc he doesn't have to say anything. Dream copied, he deal with the accusations it's his own bed." So Q not saying anything is OKaying the USMP and Dream is a drama queen for airing public messages and overreacting. In that vision, Dream is the one breaking the friendship, creating drama for nothing, and overreacting. Not continuing the USMP is Dream's decision (and that's something so many people are saying against it !).

But that's completely disregard the amount of hate and vitriol the USMP got because they can't know, you don't know how hard someone can be harrassed. The space with at least 1k of people doxxing Dream ? The ss where there was a coordinate effort to attack him ? I remember externs mocking us for speaking about "sending assassins" before realizing that oh, actually it happened.

So I do get Tommy's video : Dream should have stayed silent about everything and just went "the USMP will not happen yet, wait for it". But I dislike how that take completely disregard that he was pressed by very real hatred both online and IRL, and that's something that people love to ignore about Dream and his stans.

So yeah. Dream made his bed, but I'd like for once to have those guys have the same pressure put on them and see how they react.

PS : absolutely hate to see people discard that T made his own reputation and that he should be thankful for Dream's friendship. I can't bother to watch him anymore, but he is talented and has always been pretty straight about himself. It's also more than getting on the QSMP.

None of this is true tho... like no one thinks Dream aired private messages there were no private messages. they made fun of the long twit longer because they can't genuinely comprehend someone stalking and committing crimes bad enough for the FBI to get involved. Tommy more than any other random CC on the internet knows exactly what happened to Dream because Dream talked Tommy through the same debacle. Tommy just had an entire livestream tour around England telling everyone how Dream protected him and prepared him because of Dream's experience with criminals trying to ruin his life. This round of doxxing happened because they wanted Dream scared enough to not do the USMP which it worked he didn't they won. But it's still not enough. These freaks spend all their time tweeting about Dream because he's all they care about. QSMP is just their new camp from which to throw grenades at Drean.

Tommy's reputation is as a Dream SMP streamer it's all he ever wanted his reputation to be. Tommy's youtube channel is based off the DSMP. Tommy literally said with his own mouth you can thank Dream for everything about his channel because Dream told him how to do everything from thumbnails to video descriptions. I remember during Minecon Tommy going I had a brilliant idea and by that I mean Dream had an idea and I went oh yeah that's good. Tommy has never ever in the past shied away from giving Dream and anyone else who inspired him their flowers. The simple truth is he probably thought he could get away with the joke and being a teenage boy comes with an inherent cruelty to it 🤷‍♀️

yknow... every time I watch ofmd, especially with people who aren't Into It™ and then discuss it with them makes me think there isn't as much distance between ed and izzy as we act like there is...

my friend was horrified by ed's actions in 2x01-02, really liked izzy's s2 arc, and said that they would prefer the "ignoring izzy dies" route in fanfic. after jim's infamous line in 2x02, my friend said: "ed and izzy have a complicated relationship, and friendship is part of it." my friend and my parents both think the inn is... not suitable for ed and stede. they all like ed and izzy. at the end of the day they are two flawed people who have both done horrible things, but they are more than that and they got better.

one of the themes of season 2 was moving on. ed cut off two more toes. he worked his crew too hard. he almost killed them in his efforts to kill himself. and we forgave and we moved on. izzy tried to kill stede. he called the navy on the crew to control ed. and then hurt ed when he was down. tbh... I think we're supposed to forgive and move on. izzy did start as an antagonist, while ed is one of our romantic leads. they're not on equal footing. but I don't think the show cared by the end?

I think because people have been so insane about izzy in one direction (canyon shit, I don't need to elaborate), that we spend all our time talking about how ed isn't literally the most evil horrible guy that we don't step back.

I've seen deeply hurt and traumatized people on both sides. people whose trauma makes them deeply relate to izzy for one reason for another (why haven't canyon people moved on? well I think it's because they still love izzy and don't want to let him go), and people whose trauma makes izzy genuinely triggering. and like... man I can't solve everything. I can't change someone's instinctual reaction to this character. I just wish it wasn't a big deal, because every rewatch, every irl conversation, I always come back to: why is this so complicated. it's not complicated.

misc lore drop day 53/?

On Day 51, I said they’ve had several first meetings. That they’re all very different due to the different circumstances of each. I said even when they meet for the second time after growing up more, there still is so much difference between when they meet alongside other people versus when it’s just them. The others involved in the making of the “treaty” basically kick them out, because I mean, they really are just pawns in a greater political game. At this point at least, considering neither of them is actually in charge of any kingdom. They’re the future of these kingdoms, but their power is still locked away by the older generation nonetheless(It’s really interesting because the irl guy who became King of Spain apparently did NOT want to become the king, but it was out of his hands. The future Emperor trying to become King of Spain DID want it, but also it was his father and court’s will in the first place. I find that dynamic interesting, like yeah you literally are the future monarch, but we’re still engineering this all above your head. No matter how self-important you feel, you’re never going to be fully in control, at least at some points in your life.) 

Though let me be clear, Seb’s a lot more involved in the process than Fernando assumes he is. Fernando is much more of a pawn, but at this moment, he’s not too upset about it. It’s when it’s actually confirmed is when he starts getting more resentful about it. It’s one thing to be offered such an important title, it’s another when it’s finalized, and you realize, oh hey, maybe this wasn’t the most fair for me. It’s one thing if your dream has the potential of getting realized, and another when you actually have to deal with the consequences and toll of such a deal. Anyways. So they get kicked out, to go “ start getting familiar with each other.” I wrote about this a while ago, way before I was even doing these but. I love the image of them , at first, both trying to act super formal, almost peacocking around like, look how grown up I am, look much mature, look how regal! So they’re both walking side by side, super stoic, trying to outdo each other in formality, such showmanship. It’s soooo fake though, because at that point, neither of them really care about courtesy and etiquette that deeply. Though, Fernando will change his tune on that soon enough, and act like his younger self never happened. But then they get to actually talking, and they realize that their respective traits that once appealed to each other and made the other endearing now come off as incredibly annoying, seen in this new light. Seen in the light of, oh my god, this is the guy I’m going to spend the rest of my life with!?

Even though Fernando is not the aloof, above-it-all king-to-be he’s going to eventually become, Seb still finds him to be way too haughty. He had found it charming when he met when he was younger. He almost looked up to him, even though their meeting was relatively brief. He thought, now there’s someone who knows how to be regal. Now it’s just frustrating, like I am literally going to be your Emperor, why are you acting so arrogant towards me?? Meanwhile the childish show-off behavior Fernando once found cute now is incredibly irritating on Seb’s older, handsome ugh, face. It’s one thing for a little kid to spout off constantly how he’s gonna be emperor, it’s another when it’s coming from the mouth of a man six years your junior. When Fernando had been looking at Seb from across the room earlier, he had been pleasantly surprised at how handsome of a young man Seb grew up to be since he last saw him. Now he thinks, well if only his mouth was sewn shut so I could retain my earlier surprise. It’s so funny though because they’re annoyed at each for literally acting THE EXACT SAME WAY! They’re both being equally pompous braggarts, yet get fed up with each other for the same behavior. Meanwhile their courtiers are watching them like, oh?? I think they’re getting along???

So, I've watched all current episodes of Pokemon Horizons now, and I have some more thoughts.

I *STILL* think there's something going on with Orio and Mollie after their episode 9 date.

They are almost always positioned right next to each other in group shots. When the show is away from the Brave Asagi, any cuts back to the ship will often show them already spending time together.

In the episode where Orio goes to help out the pokeball maker, Mollie is the one who advocates for giving Orio time for herself and to get a break from constantly being in demand on the ship.

Their roles on the ship are complementary as well. Both are more likely to stay on-board unless situations call for it (Orio to perform repairs/maintenance on the ship itself, while Mollie looks after the inhabitants). Trope-wise, they have 'cheerful-stoic' and 'elbow grease-soft touch' dynamics, which are always fun.

Also, they literally ride Orio's Metagross together (leaning on each other) in the 2nd opening, with Mollie giving a rare smile.

Zirc and Onia *STILL* have not been named on-screen after sixty-two episodes/two-and-a-half fucking seasons! Those two should strike for better working conditions.

Liko and Dot, like Orio and Mollie above, also seem very close.

Liko was almost immediately committed to befriending Dot, before even laying eyes on her, and spent a good amount of time and effort talking to her through a metal door. Even after Dot emerged and they became real friends, Liko is always the first to involve and encourage Dot, and is delighted when they get to spend time together.

Dot, for her part, actually does respond to Liko's efforts before they meet IRL as she will drop everything to ensure that Liko is alright after getting into any jams, and will also beat herself up for letting Liko down. When Dot starts hanging out with the others, a few words from Liko will draw out a blush quite easily, and she is far more friendly with the other girl than she is with Roy (both kind of treat Roy as a mildly-exasperating little brother).

Liko having somebody to focus on helping (Dot) leads to her growth, while Dot having somebody who she can actively do things for (Liko) leads to hers. Their affection for each other is apparent and beneficial for both.

The third member of the 'main' trio, Roy, is an interesting case. I would probably rank him as having the least to do out of three. He's not an un-fun character, but he's rather limited.

Yes, he was the original provider of the ancient pokeball with Rayquaza in it, but Liko learning the story of Lucius and the Six Heroes meant that they would have had to come across it sooner or later anyway to get Terapagos to Rakua.

Since Rayquaza left the pokeball, Roy's role and motivation has kinda been reduced to being a fight-happy tag-along. He's obviously very sheltered from his upbringing, but he could do with having his own horizons widened some more. Maybe get him a friend who he has a deeper relationship with than Liko (Anne) or Dot (Nanjamo), or just... something to do outside of training to get beat by Rayquaza again.

Mibrim/Hatenna is the fuckin' MVP. The amount of times she's uncovered the problem or tracked down missing people and pokemon over this series far eclipses that of any other character. Screw Batman, MIBRIM is the world's best detective for uncovering stuff. She's great.

You cannot hide from her. She knows what you did and what you're thinking about.

I don't care for Friede or Captain Pikachu. They took up too much screentime in the earlier episodes before the writers wisely started scaling them back, and Friede's quickly-abandoned running 'gag' about forgetting to tell others important information wasn't funny in the first place.

You cannot tell me she doesn't roll into a town, head straight for the club, pull 1-3 lovelies young enough to be her kids, outlast them all in bed, feed them in the morning and then tell them to get out with a smack on the ass so she can get back to work.

okay, as someone with taste I respect, what did you see in Wednesday? I watched it and it's not... bad, the setting and plot are done well enough but the characters.............. wednesday herself is enjoyable to watch but it really bothered me that every other teen in the show were just. some guys. and none* of the people who are supposed to be her friends/love interests ever show anything better than tolerance for her hobbies and interests???? it's literally a school for monsters. where are the goths and neurodivergents that will actually appreciate or share her talents. where are the actual OUTCASTS,

*eugene is what im talking about. some guy just really obsessed with bees IS someone wednesday could respect and enjoy spending time with. but then he is treated in and out of canon as a loser to laugh at!

idk its like the writers are completely unaware of the way othered/outcast people like. exist. irl. and it really undermined the themes of the show imo

I agree that it would've been cool to see more of a commentary on real "outcasts" but I'm not sure if Wednesday was the right person to give that? She's very blunt and self-motivated, not the kind of person to seek out outcasts in solidarity

Honestly even though they were called "outcasts", the show seemed more like a commentary on prejudice and the importance of belonging. They could've taken it further, but tbh I think they also run the risk of trying to say something about too many groups, since "outcasts" include a very wide and diverse range of people

They felt like teenagers with all their flaws. I remember being 15 and everyone in my circle was obsessed with two incredibly mediocre white men. Any attention was exciting! And Wednesday seemed pleased by the attention but didn't fall over herself to date them you know?

number one. he is such a know it all. he constantly acts like hes better than other people and is so SO condensing whenever someone struggles with something that he knows how to do well. he's just such an asshat when he seems someone that he could HELP. "a toddler could do that-" yeah idia, you know what else a baby could do? run a lap without wheezing and keeling over.

number two. he is so ungrateful whenever people do stuff for him. the ghost marriage event highlighter that about him because for fucks sakes these people tried to save your stupid ass life and all you could do was berate them. ok die then! they came here for YOU. how DARE you talk to them like that.

number THREE. he insults the hell out of rollo for his "lets get rid of magic plan" and berates him for it when their trauma is so similar and they could have had a genuine conversation, but also hey idia you FUCKING HYPOCRITE, you tried to TAKE OVER THE FUCKING WORLD FOR YOUR BROTHER. YOU DID WAY WORSE THAN ROLLO DID YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COME AT HIM LIKE THAT.

WHY I LIKE HIM NOW:

first first first!! the thing that made me gasp the softest gasp i have ever gasped in my life when i first saw it...his pink hair. its a bit superficial i guess but now that i like idia i think he's stunning. he's so hauntingly beautiful, especially when he's just a little bit flustered and the tips of his hair turn pink. what i would do to see his whole head turn pink PLEASE.

i also think his smile is so silly, even though it's usually accompanied by his smug ass voice "should'a leveled up more!" SHUT UP!!!!! i love his sharp teeth theyre so goofy nd silly but in a cute way. honestly i think his scowl is cute too, idk maybe i just like his lips but watching them twist up in annoyance when he rolls his eyes is attractive to me dont ask i dont know either. does that say something about me? maybe. i'm content with not knowing.

onto less superficial things...i just finished reading book six yesterday and it struck me how idia's heart is genuinely so beautiful. he loves so gently and fully, but with devotion that would destroy the world if he let it loose. being loved and treasured by idia is a privilege, because once he lets you in he would do anything for you (just dont fuck it up or i will beat you up im being so serious LEAVE HIM ALONE)

the extent to which he cares for ortho is so beautiful and so heartbreaking. "leave it to your big bro" im dead. everything he does is for ortho to have a safe and fulfilling life and honestly...it kind of seems like idia is trying to pay ortho back in a sense? like you died (because of me), now i will spend the rest of my life mourning you as punishment. he wants to give him the best life possible and thats just so ourgourgouhgohou,,,, his grieving is so complex and yet its so simple. heartbreaking i tell you.

on a lighter note, he's very passionate about the things he's into as well. one thing about figuring our how to like idia was turning my reaction to his condescending jabs from "oh he's such a know it all bitch what the hell people are literally just indulging in his interests what is wrong with him?" TO "oh he's just excited and getting an adrenaline rush, it's going to his head. he's happy. :)" and that was absolutely growth on my part because. ok AUBURN LORE TIME but i used to have a friend who was very condescending and a HUGE know it all (irl IRL IRL) and i think they definitely impacted how i saw idia because i saw bits of them in him. and since they hurt me so much i projected my experiences with them onto idia, so the first time i met him in game i wrote him off immediately and hated him after i saw what he said to others and how he acted.

but one of the many problems with that approach was that i missed the gentler sides of him. the way he goes back to school for ortho. the way he powers through the masquerade social for ortho. his idea of yuu being "valuable emotional support." his love of cats, regardless of how bad he scared grim. his love of star rogue and the way he made the sequel actually happen, albiet unintentionally. i spent so much time resenting him because "of course he's just another one of those." that i didn't stop to notice anything about him except for those bad moments. and of course, i'm not ignoring them now, i just see them differently. i see him differently.

of course i love that he's relatable, and that he's smart, and i love how when he's comfortable he loses his filter and becomes idia shroud instead of just being Scared of them, but i think that's just. social anxiety. and yk what ive said this before but even when i hated him i would NOT stand for anyone coming for his anxiety. like yeah i hate idia shroud but BITCH GET AWAY FROM HIM. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ANXIETY IS LIKE!!! put me in nrc right now idia shroud needs someone who will yell at people for him and thats going to be ME. i dont care who you are you say shit you are earning my IRE. trey clover got yelled at. no one is safe.

This rich mf… He spends the entire game being a snobby, condescending, uncaring asshole. He becomes relatively nicer by the end but never stops being a dick. He also desecrated a corpse once for funsies. He’s also stupid but he doesn’t know that. I both like and hate him. It’s complicated.

He's an heir to a wealthy family corporation and he sure does act the part. He acts like he's better than everyone else and thinks they're not worth his time. He's just a huge asshole. (SPOILERS) He tampers with a murder scene just for fun and outs another student's secret alter, knowing full well it was irrelevant to the case. He also has a small breakdown about being wrong in another trial. By the end, he becomes a bit more likeable and kinda a tsundere that pretends like he doesn't care about the other survivors (but he totally does). Still very much an asshole though. He's a fucked up lil guy and something about him draws me to him. I would kick his rich bastard shins IRL given the chance, however.

He is emotionally detached from his classmates…

Omg. So I’ve been in online fandoms for like two decades at this point. I definitely have some ebb & flow with whether I’m actively in a fandom / fandoms, the amount of time I’m able to dedicate to being online, etc. But fandom always has been & always will have a very special place in my life. I love being able to connect with people over things we’re so passionate about!

I’m someone who loves to really dive in. There are some things that I simply cannot casually like & I want to talk about them in depth all the time. And very very occasionally one of my irl friends will share that level of enthusiasm for the same thing, but more often than not even if one of my irl friends loves the same thing as me there’s a cap on how much they want to talk about it & how much they delve into the background etc etc (an example is that it was one of my irl friends who literally sat me down & made me watch UNHhhh & now here we are 😂 )

As far as what fandoms I’ve been in …

It all started with American Idol / Saula. Shout out to everyone who was on SH back in the day because in every fandom I’ve been in since there’s been at least one other person who was also on that board!

I dabbled a little bit in Grey’s Anatomy fandom. Not much though, I think because that was like the one case where everyone was watching it those first few seasons & talking about it so it was very easy to scratch that itch to talk about it

Bones — if I recall correctly, I don’t think I was part of a specific fan forum for Bones, but there was this TV recap board I was on that had a section for Bones fans

Literally my longest relationship with a fandom. I think I’m out & then I get pulled back in. But also my longest fandom friendships — I’ve met so many people from the fandom irl & still catch up with some of them after, like, 15 years. And then I’ve made new fandom friends in waves after that lol

Oh & actually my longest fandom friendship goes all the way back to Saula & has extended into a lot of these other shows. 20+ years!

Nashville & X Files brought me back into the online fandom space after a bit of time away from it. I was so happy to be back in it. And then Good Girls again after a bit of a longer period of time

(Sorry for too many questions, but I already made my friends suffer a lot by sharing my theories and fears on this situation and they don’t even watch the show😂so here you are)

Many argue that the friendship between percy and jenna is just a part if PR for their upcoming movie. What do you think on that matter? Also, will this accusations affect the movie?

Okay, so first of all, it’s totally not a bother! Feel free to also dm me if you want! 🖤 this is one of my favorite subjects in the world, and if it wasn’t happening with an actor that I really like, I’d be even more happy to talk about it.

So keep in mind this is literally my irl job, so bear with me and please ask if I say something that’s too specific!

Okay, so we’re talking PR, but also Influence Marketing. You could argue that their friendship started because of PR for Wednesday. It’s quite more plausible than saying it’s for their upcoming movie. Why do I say this?

Timing. Their upcoming movie just finished shooting. There’s at least 6 months to a year of post-production, re-shootings, promotional shooting of pictures and videos, and also the whole release date that is decided accordingly to a *lot* of audience research (when is the target audience most likely to engage, for exemple).

After all of this is done, that’s when marketing starts for real. So we’re talking at least late july/2023 until any marketing moves will be made. It’s 6 months to keep the General Public entertained with a friendship story.

What sells movies aren’t die hard fans. When you do a movie, and cast actors, you’re counting on their die hard fans. What sells movies, or tv shows, or bands, is what we call the Casual Public, or General Public. People that like it, but aren’t crazy, aren’t fanpeople.

So, let’s pretend they hated each other or were only coworkers - why keep up the pretence after Wednesday season 1 wrapped up, a new movie is at least 6 months away, and season 2 of Wednesday is still being written? Why spend NYE, go to the Golden Globes, to Fashion Weeks, together?

It could be a long plan of marketing to market them as the next rom-com Netflix couple? Maybe.

But you also have to remember - they’re not doing this for free, they are getting paid if all of this is marketing. And if they’re getting paid, it’s expensive as hell. We’re talking about two rising stars in the entertainment industry. Paying Jenna’s part of this alone would be a huge contract. Millionaire.

All the while, it’s not only them. If it’s marketing, there’s a team behind. Creating content, pap walks, scenes and possibilities. It’s a full time movie shooting. While managing the people who are creating said content. To keep the General public entertained for at least 6 more months. The GP doesn’t have this attention span. Their die hard fans would watch with or without friendship.

So, I said all that to say: I find it very very very unlikely as a marketing professional for this to be marketing. Too expensive, too draining, too much probability of someone finding out it’s only for marketing purposes. I think they’re pals, they like each other’s company. Just like they enjoy Georgie’s company, who’s also always around.

About the upcoming movie: it’s really up to director and producers to figure it out after the authorities or lawyers say what happened. It’s a movie that’s wrapped up. I find it unlikely not to air.
