170324 Wings Concert in Newark

Okay I’m listening to bst rn and I gotta write down my memories from the concert on Friday (3.24) and I think I can do it without being 2 seconds from flat out sobbing now LOL

(Under the cut bc I just keep remembering stuff and I don’t want to shove ‘Wings Concert: a memoir’ on anyone lol)

 I was P2 pit, so I got to stand closer to the stage, which: yes. 

They came out first with Not Today, which was so lit, but my friend and I couldn’t see them at all on the main stage, so we pretty much missed it. We were standing with some people we’d befriended waiting in line all day 

(prudential center: next time pls organize better, I had been planning on a nap but you didn’t announce that you had gone back to the number system until 3h before the concert - I slept for 3h and planned to nap, but didn’t, and then I was up for 22.5h, and it was like 5 degrees all day lmao) 

ANYWAY we moved to the back and off to the side, which was great!

I honestly don’t remember all the songs they played, but the solo stages and VCRs were so nice!!!!!! They’ve worked so hard and it totally shows!! Excellent job, boys!!

I almost died during cypher pt4 bc jumping and rapping is not a good idea unless you’ve been trained/ actually are in shape lmao

They all spoke in english for most of the time they were talking with us and I felt so #blessed like thank you boys so much for working so hard, that was such an honor. 

Jin pulled a super cute face during 21cg but I love that song and had pushed my phone at my friend to take pictures and video but she didn’t really, so I’m trying to etch that face in my memory lololol

Also almost died during 21cg for the same reasons I almost died during cypher lol but with more dancing

Jiminie has been hanging out with yoongi too much - this time he was the one who kept saying “I can’t hear you~” and at one point JK was like “hyung they liked it” and RM later was like “I’m so sorry for your voice but WILL YOU STAY WITH BTS FOREVER” and I almost cried

During Reflection stage, at the part where he says “I wish I could love myself” we all chanted his name and that we love him at the end and I almost cried

Mama showed baby hobi pictures and videos, and I almost cried bc hobi looked like he was gonna cry by the end of the song

Hobi is a beautiful Adonis, I would just like to reestablish this for everyone lol I love him

Jiminie was lifted by a mob of backup dancers and spun around during Lie stage and it was amazing

First Love and Awake stages had an orchestra quartet, and that somehow increased the beauty of the songs by 843673116894732%

Reflection stage beautifully transitioned to Stigma stage via phone booth and I died

We did rainbow army bombs again and they loved it, and somehow the encore performance turned into Outro: Wings, 2! 3!, a video playing A Supplemental Story, hobi dancing Boy Meets Evil, and BST

After watching the VCRs I feel like I now have some subconscious level of understanding of the mvs, but on a conscious level I cannot explain it rip still too complicated lol

Despite how much waiting in line all day felt like an endurance test I was failing, I was so happy to be there that literally halfway through the concert I realized my cheeks were trembling from how hard I was smiling lol

Namjoon asked at the end if it was all a dream, and tbh if I wasn’t so sore, I’d be tempted to think similarly

RM said something to jin right before goodbyes and jin blew him a kiss, and then they both looked soullessly into the camera lmao

During Outro, hobi gave the spotlight to members individually: jin aggressively waved his army bomb around, everyone did some little dance move (like JK did the freaking amazing step sequence from Begin and RM did that meme dance from way back just after debut [seen in AHL lol idr which song it was for tho my bad]), BUT FREAKING MIN YOONGI POPPED, LOCKED, AND DROPPED IT bye

My friends and I drove to Manhattan after for kbbq, but decided that we couldn’t listen to bts because we’d just be disappointed, so the whole trip was spent trying to sing girl group songs with our lost voices, and screaming intensely whenever bts started

But then right when we were about to ask for the check, bst started playing and the waitress probably thought we were the craziest patrons because we called her over and then collectively groaned, put our heads down, and spent the rest of the song overcomplicating how to pay the bill lmao

I’m keeping all of it forever lmao *Thank you, past me, for being fiscally responsible and allowing me to indulge in such a trip despite having no money lmao *Thank you to my friends and the new friends I met in line for helping me to keep such a positive and upbeat attitude, despite how beat up and terrible I felt in that line lol >> We kept talking about Dean and listening to Dean songs, to the point where now anytime we hear anyone knocking we just reflexively say “open the door, it’s the police” *Thank you, random week late St. Patrick’s Day Parade/battle of the marching bands parade, for providing the soundtrack to my actual funeral as I died that morning lmao (special s/o to the bagpipe guys walking around literally all day in kilts, they’re the real mvps it was actually freezing)
