I still think obey me would have had an easier time writing better characters if they had actual routes (includes harem route) and better story segment to rhythm game ratios
#An essay by me#I want the story to rhythm game ratio to be closer to twisted wonderland so i can actually enjoy the story!#i like the rhythm aspect#its way more fun than in the original game#and the music is catchy! but every 2 minutes to progress is kinda urghhh#and yes we can have 1 on 1 routes and harem routes in the same game!#it doesnt have to be one or the other#now you've calmed down the people who are either sick of mammon and lucifer or love satan and asmo lol#people who like the side characters can get their juice too instead of crawling under the couch for crumbs#and people who like romancing everyone at once are still happy#AND ALL the characters will become more well rounded because everyones not limited to their 1-10 seconds of screentime#nb has been doing a good job with giving the characters depth but im scared what might happen in the future#is the game just gonna go on forever with no planned ending?#im sure this is a topic people are tired of but its my blog okay!#i pretty much treat this as a public journal#and i love latching onto stuff i think has potential but never fully reaches it#what im saying is be more like mystic messenger lol#obey me#obey me nb

i haint watched the dang chibisode and idk if ill actually watch it with sound on sdfjk but i have a hurt feeling about them casually imbuing perry with speech for a one off gag because the idea that he needs to talk to communicate is fake. we had 4 seasons of wacky magic hijinks cartoon where perry never needed verbal speech to communicate. they couldve done this gag at any point in the show but they didn't, and the fact that they didn't felt significant. perry's muteness is such a core part of his character, to me, to the way i conceive of him/write him. i don't wanna overreact to a goofy little side cartoon (even tho i'm doing it anyway) but it's still the characters, and it still upsets me! ok that's it i've said my piece

#rhythm doctor#lucky jonronero#my art#the difference between the style I use for comics and my own style is really funny sometimes#the comic style is like a weird simplified version of my style with aspects of the RD style thrown in#it’s simpler faster and more expressive than my own style so it’s better for comics#but it’s nice to draw these characters normally from time to time#also the first drawing was based on 5-1 (I was watching a friend play and saw the yellow eyes and was like I’ve got an idea)#I like this character a lot so alas he is subjected to me metaphorically beating him with a stick

I finally did it!! I composed my first cover online with and on my computer ever... (+ LOUD SOUND WARNING for headphone users, the ending especially gets loud...my apologies in advance!) -> AZ's what-if battle theme
#pokemon#pokemon music#pokemon legends z-a#in hindsight the pacing and rhythm is off at certain parts but honestly i am proud at how decent my first attempt turned out to be.#Anyways nothing can be truly perfect#there is always room for improvement.#he was the beginning and the end...hardest description for a character ever#i made the beginning a callback to AZ's past as a king with regal tones#then shifted to a sorrowful passage before entering a respite and changing to a more hopeful#uplifting one where it shows AZ's gradual acceptance of inner peace + discovering the thrill of battles#in other ways you could see the uplifting tone as the kinder side + noble aspects of AZ's character that could have been seen in XY#like he loved pokemon right? And he did care for his kingdom too with his technology and stuff#the rising and falling pitches also can be reflective of his stumbles and regression to his grief along the way

i finally got around to playing project sekai yesterday (which ive had on my phone for like. over a year and never got properly into) and its kind of confusing 😭 why are there so many different currencies. why are there fifty million things i can hit on the ui? why r there so many things i can buy. WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE THE GAME EXPECTS ME TO ALREADY BE ACQUAINTED WITH.
im sure ill figure it out eventually. probably very slowly. im just here to tap buttons ok. the amount of stuff is overwhelming. there r so many characters?? with alternate forms?? and so many character stats?? i already maxed out the group i got to level 20 somehow too so ig i have to do something to fix that

as a huge spyro year of the dragon fan i Hate the reignited trilogy they took all the charm and nostalgia out of it BUT ... spyro's walking/running animation ? they perfected that.
#qktalks#world's most satisfying animation i could watch him hop around like that for hours. he's so ........ noodle-like#but they also took away his slow wing-flap animation from the original#like the one that's used when he's just standing there. he flaps his wings out very slowly in a constant rhythm#they took that away too. garbage game 0/10 /silly#they also made hunter .......so fucking ugly ?? whyd they do that to him . he didn't deserve this#for people unfamiliar with spyro look up spyro 3 original hunter vs reignited hunter you'll wanna vomit#idk i feel like reignited just didn't need to be made ?#a port of the original woulda been fucking BOMB. im of the opinion that old games don't Need to be remade#they just need to be ported/remastered or Whatever. and maybe tinkered with a Little if some aspect of the game was horrid for any reason#but also im of the opinion that u CAN do a good remake. if ur careful.#i don't think spyro needed all those graphic upgrades or that cartoonish realism#yeah the environments r pretty and they did a fine job w that i don't have an issue with the environments i have an issue w the characters#overall i think ?? bianca was done pretty well. she looks similar enough in face-shape to 3's original design#can't rly pinpoint anything in particular that's strange abt her. maybe her eyes? but idk what they coulda done differently#the sorceress is fine ... i kinda wish they made her head a little wider and kept the gradual change in scale color intact but#she's okay too#the fairies look bad<33333#spyro himself .... he looks okay ?#there's something Different about his face shape i kinda wish they'd kept everything a bit .... smaller? idk how to describe it#but it doesn't bother me that much i think they did a good job. lord knows they did better than skylanders .............#i also have an issue with the animations in general#idk how to explain it but the Way the characters move ............. it irks me#it's just so unnatural ? how they move and gesture when they talk? it's not Bad Animation it looks rly good graphically speaking#but idk. this isn't a spyro thing in particular it's just that animation style that i dislike#playing reignited just makes me sad. playing the original comforts me. playing reignited makes me sad that im not playing the original#u can remake an old game made of approximately 18 polygons and make it look good AND make it look like the original#u just have to be careful about the geometry and the level of detail and the eye shapes

Thinking about "the rhythm of the interrogation" again.
When Cheng Xiaoshi goes in to interrogate "Li Tianxi" Xiao Li reminds him that he who controls the rhythm controls the initiative. Cheng Xiaoshi needs to be the one controlling what's going on and only then can he obtain the information they need.
And if you look at what Li Tianchen does here? He's following Xiao Li's tips to a tee. I would not be surprised if Qian Jin gave him the same advice as Xiao Li at some point tbh.
Li Tianchen's whole plan here has multiple layers. First, to Qian Jin, he's setting the police looking for Tianxi and grabbing Cheng Xiaoshi at the same time. But he also goes in there with his own agenda, trying to figure out if Cheng Xiaoshi has been able to do anything with the photo he's provided. This is the information he himself wants to obtain.
So! First thing. The "informant" went to the police themselves, offering information on the old case. They dance around the topic such that the police begin to get frustrated then offer to talk, if, and only if, there are a number of conditions agreed. The police have very little information on the case as Qian Jin ensured the files were modified which just adds to the their desperation here. So they give in. Or at least they pretend to and bug Cheng Xiaoshi. Tianchen keeps even his pretend identity ambiguous at this point. He's set the conditions of the discussion before it even begins and nets himself the home turf advantage.
Cheng Xiaoshi enters, introduces himself and asks for the informant's name. This is his attempt at controlling the conversation by dictating the questions. Unfortunately, Tianchen immediately undermines this by introducing himself as "Li Tianxi". Cheng Xiaoshi's reaction is telling and he is pushed onto the back foot.
Li Tianchen now in control of the conversation offers a handshake. Cheng Xiaoshi reaches to return it but, before he can, Tianchen switches tracks again, keeping CXS off-kilter, and asks him to hand over anything hidden on his person. Tianchen could so easily puppet CXS now, but he refuses. A puppeted Cheng Xiasho can't provide anything but puppeted words and that's not what LTC wants here. Besides, he can win his possession fair and square.
Cheng Xiaoshi offers up his phone and says that's all he has. Tianchen is doubtful and "searches" Cheng Xiaoshi. Honestly, with his touch possession power, I don't think he even really cares about potential bugs at this point? It's purely to keep Cheng Xiaoshi off guard. LTC hovers over the collar, an obvious place to put a bug... and then he pulls back. Actually *finding* a bug at this stage would derail the conversation.
Tianchen then says how the "foundation of cooperation is mutual trust" and that he "hopes they'll have a better start this time". If Cheng Xiaoshi were anything but relieved at the bug not being found he would have picked up on "Li Tianxi" being the possessor at this point and been thrown off his rhythm yet again. Alas, he entirely misses it. This actually helps CXS recover his pace a bit and when he steps back into the room he's back into questioning mode, ready to take control. Tianchen has another go at making CXS realise he's talking to the "possessor" and this time succeeds. Advantage returns to Tianchen.
And now he can start to dig at what he actually wants to ask about and confirm his suspicions. He asks how CXS knew "her" name and why he had no need to ask "her" background. CXS valiantly tries to rally, but the knowledge that he's speaking to the possessor forces him to be cautious and give an honest answer. Also, Tianchen asking why he was taking so long to answer pressures him to answer quickly rather than trying to think it through any further. CXS reveals that he learnt Tianxi's past through a photo. Tianchen's gotten his answer so it's time to make his escape.
Tianchen asks for a Coke. Forcing Cheng Xiaoshi to cater to his whims one last time whilst also giving him as excuse to "go to the bathroom" later on.
Finally, the sob story. I won't make any comment to how "true" any of it is, but it does its job here. Cheng Xiaoshi offers his sympathy by reaching out to "Tianxi".
Checkmate.

I think the thing with the tianchen-as-tianxi act is that the police in s2 are already bending a load of rules#they've got cxs and ql's stabbing suspect status put on hold but xl has gotten one officer dead by this point and is feeling guilty#going in on that desperation and the fact they're already bending the rules means they're starting on the back foot#link click#link click spoilers#shiguang daili ren spoilers#this is kinda just a play-by-play but like. I do think a load of this interrogation was ltc deliberately making cxs off guard#and it's so neat that cxs goes in aiming to control the rhythm but it's ltc who ends up completely outplaying him in that aspect

Nightbringer should have completely changed the mechanics of the game
#this is my weekly complaint about routes#if there were routes we could contain certain events to specific characters and go into them more thoroughly...#instead of glazing over them#like the trial Diavolo had#could have been something specific to his route#its not impossible to have one main route with everything#but obey me has always had pacing issues so just do the solution thats the easiest imo#And anyways ur making everyone start from scratch so do something very different#instead of slightly different#give ppl a reason to really wanna invest from the beginning#obey me nightbringer#obey me nb#make the rhythm game not so integral to progressing#it should be something that leans more on the fun side#and not feel like a chore#i like the texts and phone calls#ik they got the idea for mystic messenger#just copy aspects from it!#u might as well#i like WW suprisingly#but like....for free#im not spending 5 dollars on a silly item that i dont even get to reuse#i would also like to directly interact with the characters in it#in different rooms#Like tapping on them and stuff and they respond...#My ideas arent cheap ik#But im being self indulgent here#but honestly if removing it completely would allow for better writing id give it up

I had a weird moral dilemma thing going for a minute where I was feeling weird about writing prsk fanfiction, but then I remembered I write stories about people in school all the time (unfortunately, because there's not enough media out there that I like that has college/adult leads that I actively want to write fanfiction for).

so today i went to an arcade and there was this kind of rhythm game machine and i of Course had to try it. turns out playing enstars everyday for more than a year now actually pays off bc i was easily the one who better did it from my friends and my result even got into the top 10 of the game
#like i Knew ive got a huge lot better in the rhythm game aspect comparing how i play now and how i used to play when i just started enstars#but was still a bit surprised bc this machine was very different than playing on my phone aldjsks#i impressed my friends and got a lot of tickets from the game that i then exchanged for some earphones so huge win for me :)

#shashi rambling#*cracks knuckles*#so. believe it or not first and foremost *sees url* i am a rhythm gamer#and i initially started playing enstars cus of the rhythm game aspect#but the rhythm game part is kinda. um. for the lack of better words: tame compared to most rhythm games?#like. after a while it's just grinding. it's not that fun anymore#whereas in Phigros every map is unique and the rhythm gamer in me is always in joy when playing#okay i will admit most special maps in Enstars are cool#some days i open the app just to play some Special maps and that's it#so yeah. rhythm game wise Phigros >>> Enstars for me#yeah i know Enstars has lots and lots of lore#especially compared to Phigros#and yes i know how story centric Enstars is#but gameplay wise: Enstars is boring compared to most rhythm games#sorry

What in the world...
Okay so for context: I was playing Pretty U to clear daily missions. And I had like 3 Goods and 1 Miss. And I figured "yeah, par for the course" and obviously didn't take a screenshot of those results (because why would I unless it's a full combo).
BUT. Apparently that still counted as Perfect Hits??? I guess it's a bug considering that that definitely shouldn't happen. But I recently had this happen with Fear too. Even though I tried fc-ing Fear for ages and just 1 Good would screw me over. And a long time ago that happened with Hot too.
I mean I guess I can't complain considering I did kind of get those shiny gold badges handed to me for free. But it just doesn't sit right with me that I didn't genuinely get a full combo on those songs.
