I just think it shouldn’t be basically required to buy a “pass” to get more and better rewards for an event that you practically cannot finish otherwise. I think you should be able to beat limited time events without having to spend money.

@horrortown says;;
" how bad is it this time? "
Chris for Claire.
A simple question, one that should be easy enough to provide some sort of answer to and yet the dull sting that throbbed in her skull quickly made the action itself far too difficult.
Just open your mouth and let the thoughts flow, it's just Chris.
Claire hardly had a reason to feel so hurt, so betrayed, and yet the ache that came as she recounted the events leading to this very moment had torn open the barely healing wound, bitterness quickly finding its way into her thoughts before she finally manages to speak up.
"It's real bad Chris. I don't know if I should consider it a fight or what but I don't think I'll be seeing Leon again, not unless it's on the news for something."
Soft, almost irritated in tone while she spoke. It was tempting to allow herself to fully spill everything to her older brother because if anyone would understand why Claire was so angry, it'd be him. However the little voice in her mind told her that much like the man that left her in such an upset state, Chris might not agree at all with her need to share her discoveries.
A deep breath, blue eyes gleaming with the subtle hint of tears as she tosses her head back in complete frustration. "I feel like an idiot, y'know? I just wanted to help, to try and prevent more incidents from happening-- But I guess I'm not meant for doing that."

I've been wondering this too! I don't know the complete storyline, I only really know what happened in the phantom of the auditorium event and the start of the be very, very afraid event.
So phantom starts out with the mayor being upset about losing popularity among citizens. She's trying to cope with the fact that she hasn't been able to stop the monster attacks in the town, but she isn't doing a very good job.
Meanwhile, Slappy has returned to horrortown after leaving in a previous event (I think because the entirety of the main kid group was mocking him) and he wants revenge. So he lures the mayor's son to horrorland whilst setting up phantom of the auditorium to open back up.
The mayor panics when her son arrives because she doesn't want him in any danger, resulting in her mental state becoming even worse. From here the lines get a little blurred and I'm honestly not totally sure what happens?? But the mayor's son dissapears because of the phantom, and the mayor goes off the rails. She finds a genie in her soda (yes, really, in her soda) and the genie tells her that it can grant her wishes (with the usual connotations that come with genies).
The genie, who apparently is evil, manipulated the mayor into seeking revenge for the disappearance of her son and I think the mayor got some sort of weird robot thing?? Or she became an alien?? I wasn't totally sure. Either way, she went crazy and destroyed a bunch of stuff.
Brooke and Mrs. Dark eventually got the mayor to calm down by finding her son and showing that he was okay. But because she just..y'know..committed a ton of crimes, the mayor got arrested at the very end.
Cut to the next event, I only know the setup for this one.
Elections start to see who will be the mayor of horrortown, and people start arguing over who might become the new mayor. Slappy manages to weasel himself into a dialogue exchange just to be like "I hear friction >:]" so idk if they're going anywhere with that. But anyway, people are arguing over who would be a better mayor, when this guy called Zarwid rolls into town.
Zarwid has a yard sale that pretty much the whole town attends for some reason?? Horrortown must be really boring (outside of the monster attacks) if everyone is so stoked to go to this yard sale. But anyway, they all end up getting stuck playing a magical card game. Whoever wins this card game becomes king/queen/ruler of Horrortown. Forever.
Aaaand that's as far as my knowledge extends. If you want to watch playthroughs of all the events, I reccomend going over to Grimokan's channel on youtube. They have an entire playlist of themself playing the game. Hope this helped!!
hey guys, does anyone know the full story lines in the goosebumps horrortown specials? ive never actually fully completed a goosebumps horrortown special as I can never get the points in time to get the characters and monsters

Tell me about Horrortown
Goosebumps: Horrortown is an absolutely fantastic city builder game set in a Goosebumps universe. Curly the Skeleton guides you through the game as its narrator, or at least he tries, Slappy likes to butt in with his own commentary occasionally. They are besties (There is one event that has different narrators who are actually based on two pretty cool horrortown YouTubers). It has multiple stories you can play through with the many different characters that are in this universe and live in this town.
It's also really funny because at the start of the game everyone is still new to monsters and such and freak out when they have to deal with them but the more the story progresses the more they're just "hey how much do you wanna bet our new neighbor is a monster?" and "man, another monster attack? This is the third time this week!" and not to forget "what? ANOTHER meteor crashed in town? Are we a magnet for this stuff or something?" They just become desensitized to the whole monster situation it's great. Sometimes the og characters from the books are here and I always love how they are integrated: Sometimes they are just here and will go through their stories (like Carly Beth Caldwell of Haunted Mask fame), sometimes they already went through what happened in their books (like Lizzie Morris, who comes to Horrortown to warn everyone of the Horrorland theme park), sometimes they went through their book with a different outcome (such as Dana from Egg Monsters from Mars, who died in the Horrortown timeline instead of surviving and his skeleton is visible in the freezer he was trapped in in the book, or Nat and Pat, whose sister Ginger, the protagonist of Beast From The East, is suspiciously missing from their life), and sometimes they're just adults and somewhere else (see: Zeke Matthews, who studies at College in Woods Mill and comes to visit, or Lucy and Randy Dark, who study abroad and are frequently mentioned)
The characters and their interpersonal relationships really make this game, idk how they did it but I absolutely adore playing through the different storylines and getting to know the characters!!! I also love some of the implications of the game that they never outright confirm but it feels really nice when you end up connecting the dots.
Example: Mrs. Dark, Randy and Lucy's mother, moved to Horrortown and sent her children to study far away because their father, her husband, was most likely killed by a monster hunter.
Example No. 2: Brooke Buchenberg's father is implied to be a hermit wizard that lives in the snowy mountains and abondened her when she was too young to remember him and she has untapped magical abilities because of it.
Example No. 3: Pat is trans, as she is a girl in the game but was a boy in the books and Nat and Pat are identical twins.
Example No. 4: Emile from Phantom of the Auditorium is probably a ghost in this timeline.
The game also still updates with events from time to time and I just AAAAAAA I love this game so much. I have literally so many ideas for it because the world just lends itself to so many different stories you could tell.

If there is one gripe I have with Horrortown it's definitely the in-game money. You don't get enough money in the mid game to afford anything and the prices of everything increases way too much way too quickly with each level up. The Haunted Mask Store costs a million gold, you don't earn enough at that level to warrant such a high price. And then there's the way to unlock areas! I barely have a quarter of the map unlocked despite being at level 37 or so and I already can't afford to unlock more mainly because one of the only ways to get gems, the main thing you need to unlock new areas now, in a way that doesn't require to spend 300 (in-game, not real) dollars on a gem mine, is to max out scare-o-meter and do you know what it takes to activate monsters to fill that meter? That's right, MONEY! And even then the gem you get is random.
YOU DO NOT EARN ENOUGH IN-GAME MONEY TO AFFORD ANYTHING AT A REASONABLE PACE, IT TAKES MONTHS OF GRINDING TO AFFORD ANYTHING, AND THE PRICES GO UP WAY TOO HIGH WAY TOO QUICKLY WHILE THE MONEY YOU EARN REMAINS STAGNANT AND QUITE FRANKLY I DON'T FIND SPENDING MONTHS DOING NOTHING BUT GRIND FOR GOLD OR GEMS VERY FUN!
I liked the way the mlp mobile game handled things. They just turned your exclusive leftover event items into gold or gems as a reward for collecting (AND that way they didn't take space in your inventory after you don't need them anymore). And their prices didn't rack up to be impossible to reach and they had more options to earn gems and gold in fun and creative ways.
Not to harp on Horrortown but this just annoys me to no end. I couldn't actually work on any of my open stories because I couldn't afford to unlock one area of the map for months. I genuinely have no clue what happened in that story so far because it's been so long.

Let me talk about the new Horrortown event because much like everybody else, I also did not enjoy the ending.
If you ask me, the event would have worked better as a present day soap opera. Or, if they did go this "Slappy's past" route, the ending should have had Katie and Amanda save her and then move away from Horrortown together because honestly that's where I thought this was going to go since it would have been a satisfying conclusion to the relationship of the sisters and Katie and Amanda could prove by action that they weren't the bad guys and that they do appreciate Jillian (a future event could have them all return and then we could have a soap opera with an older, maybe college age Jillian. Why, yes, I have thought about this before, how could you tell?)
