He however wants to get in, get out and get the mission over with without the two of you getting discovered, which proves harder when people keep whispering about what a cute couple you are and looking at you all the time. When he tilts your chin and captures your lips in a kiss he notes the surprised sound that leaves your lips after which he tells you he's sorry for the quick decision, but he needed to sell the idea of the two of you actually being a couple now that that is the most popular narrative and the one that will help the two of you the most.

DICK GRAYSON

Is more than happy to go on a mission with you and be your pretend boyfriend for the evening, now if only he could gather up the courage to ask you to be his girlfriend for real. Maybe he will if this mission goes well, it would make him a lot less awkward around you at the very least. Dick keeps glancing at you and at the people around you, hearing them getting more and more suspicious of the two of you right before you pull him by the tie and take him to the dance floor, smirking the whole time. As he's blushing his body falls into a rhythm with yours, the movements natural, the music and the atmosphere getting to his head so much that he kisses you at the very end of the dance, eliciting cheers and claps from the crowd, no more doubt.

RED HOOD

Loved the fact that the two of you got picked for this mission because it gives him even more chance to tease you and make you blush. Jason knows he can be a bit of an ass sometimes, okay, a lot of the time, but that doesn't diminish the fact that he still enjoys your company a lot more than the company of others. The people around the two of you are constantly looking over, at you specifically and he hates that, he was supposed to look at you like that, not anyone else so he leans in close and asks you for a kiss, otherwise he fears someone might ask you instead and he will blow your cover. Blushing at his request you smash your lips against his to shut down any smug words he might say to you next.

CLARK KENT

Was flustered when you asked him to be your partner on this mission, but he did say yes, he wanted to go, he wanted to make sure you were safe. He was a little fidgety around you, nervously glancing at you, at your lips, at your pretty dress, then quickly back at the crowd when he'd get caught. You loves teasing Clark when he got like this, you knew he had a crush on you but didn't want to call him out on it, he should tell you that himself, which is what you hoped would happen on this mission. Instead he kisses you out of panic when someone asks if he was your boyfriend and then apologizes profusely afterwards, saying how he couldn't think of any other way to make the lie convincing, which is funny coming from a man like him.

And tbh I think a lot of the disconnect regarding Canon and Fanon Belos can really be boiled down to the fact, and I speak from experience (as ppl familiar with my blog since S1 can attest) that they just really wanted a sympathetic tragic villain and that’s not what Belos was meant to be and it’s not what he needed to be when you look at the rest of the cast. The reasons for wanting Belos to be sympathetic may vary…

Because this mindset just leads to people interpreting everything he does from the sympathetic light, as proof that he’s sympathetic, but in the end there isn’t that fresh perspective that’s working from just the evidence. It’s almost a bias, coming in with a conclusion already drawn, and on some level I get it. I did try to salvage this interpretation in my mind as the story went along.

But at the same time I wasn’t so out of touch with the rest of the story (It helped that I actually liked the show for what it was, and everything else about it), with basic ideas like “Belos is Racist” and his interactions with Luz in a best-case scenario would’ve been White Savior, I have a Best Friend who’s Black type of way. And it’s not even best-case scenario by any means. I still had a basic understanding to work off of and so it wasn’t too hard to correct myself and look back at the character from a new perspective. And the POV of Belos as some arrogant prick who really thinks he’s all that made everything slot into place much more nicely!

Sometimes I struggled to adjust new canon scenes into how they fit with what I believed about Belos. And what really gave it away to me is that before the finale, I wasn’t sure how the Belos I’d put together in my mind would respond to Claude Frollo calling him demonic and so forth. But now that I’ve embraced the reality, I know exactly: Belos and Frollo would accuse the other of being hypocrites and cowards who don’t know what being a hero is REALLY like, but at the same time if they swapped places they would swap arguments. It’s all convenience.

In the end, there’s so much more to work with and appreciate when you engage with the character as they are, instead of trying to fit a square peg through a round hole because now you get exactly why the writers did X. Instead of arguing the writers are wrong about the character. Not that it hasn’t happened before tbh but this ain’t it. It’s funny how Hollow Mind starts off with King explaining how people see what they want to believe and don’t want to admit they were wrong about a person, because on a meta level it’s the episode cementing that a lot of people were wrong about Belos, after some insisted he could still be secretly tragic even after Elsewhere and Elsewhen dedicated precious remaining runtime to revealing that he wasn’t.

It seems all the points that people say should’ve been conveyed in the show through Belos… Are already conveyed in the show via other characters, so it really boils down to “It should’ve been done through Belos specifically” which I think sums up the actual bad faith spirit of the argument, and just the ignorance for how the writers focused instead on conveying through Belos character beats that couldn’t have been done with anyone else, i.e. the colonial white supremacist. There is an utter lack of self-awareness from people who see an entitled white man who infantilizes himself, and then insist that he deserved more and better and that the show’s condemnation of him was unfair (and somehow, inaccurate).

Some ramblings about chapter 113 of Spy x Family

I know I'm one week too late and all of this stuff has probably already been said by other people, but I have been too busy and tired to write down my thoughts earlier and I still wanted to do it, so here they are anyway :D

All jokes aside, I love how Endo uses manga as a medium for visual gags. Having Damian fight the sfx of his feelings and changing style for dramatic shoujo scenes, it seems like he's having a lot of fun coming up with these. Also Damian seems to be an expert when it comes to breaking the fourth wall ahah. Franky may be the one interacting with the readers outside of the story, but within the story itself, Damian's tsundere tendencies are too strong even for the fabric of their reality ahahah.

Also Becky being an absolute menace as usual, we love her for that. She's having way too much fun messing with Damian, who needs Berlint in Love when you can watch those two interact every day?

First of all "If you got problems, talk to us!" They are such good friends to him, I'm so glad! I'm so glad for every person Damian has on his side! He needs all the support system he can get. They are so precious!!!

Second, no it's not about language studies, if fact, that is a rare occasion for him to interact with Anya ahah.

Third, him clenching his heart in agony and literally fighting demons in his sleep, it's so cute, his crush is the cutest thing in the world I can't-

And lastly HE REALLY WENT FOR THE "IT'S NOT FOR ME, IT'S FOR A FRIEND OF MINE" EXCUSE. It's too funny T.T

AND OF COURSE THEY BELIEVED HIM T.T

These two I swear!

They know they are Damian's only friends, but no, he can't be lying! So instead of questioning him they assume there must be someone else! Comedy gold T.T

And it works because they are kids! I love how every miscommunication trope becomes more realistic and less annoying because they are kids and so it makes sense.

This whole chapter was a big win for Mr. Green, absolute MVP. Great advice for the characters and the readers. This chapter really resembled one of those kids cartoons ment to teach how to deal with different aspects of life, it was very nice.

I hope we get to see him more often, every time we see his mentoring skills they're an absolute treat!

Oh my heart!!! "You guys are my only true friends" T.T and their happy faces all sparky T.T

These three and their friendship are so precious to me!!! I really want to see a little chapter about how they met and how Ewen and Emile have come to respect Damian so much.

I really like how Damian tells them they're his friends here. Their dynamic was a bit stereotypical of the bully with his goons at the beginning, but I'm soooo happy that after that Endo has been constantly showing that no, actually, they really are friends. Tbh sometimes this friendship was a bit missing from Damian's side (Ewen and Emile jumping in the river for Damian and Emile not running away from the terrorist because Damian had "a bomb" on his neck, whereas Damian wanted to ask Ewen for his handkerchief to avoid getting a tonitrus < although this was also because of the panic about his father, but still) so for a long time I wanted to see him showing his affection for them somehow and in this chapter we finally got just that! For someone that has such a hard time dealing with his feelings, telling them "You guys are my only true friends" I'm sure means a lot. And you can see he's a bit embarrassed saying it, but he does it anyway because they're important to him!

First of all, very cool design for the Paradise Fist and Damian's dream sequences in general, but also veeery interesting lore drop about Donovan (dropping important lore like that in the middle of a silly chapter, classic Endo).

So Donovan was most likely in power when the war ended and that's probably where the idea that he stopped the war came from, at least from Damian's perspective. We know that Donovan is (likely) trying to start a new war, so it's very interesting that Damian considers him a man of peace. Is this his personal belief because he puts him on a pedestal or is it somewhat of a common idea amongst citizens? Did Donovan contribute to the birth of this image of himself or was it just a natural consequence? Does he want to be seen as a man of peace? Why did he even stop the war? A lot of interesting questions.

Regardless, I think this is also very important for Damian' character, that he admires his father because he thinks he stopped a war. First of all now it makes even more sense why he looks up to him so much. I mean it already made sense, but if we add the fact that, in Damian's pov, his father is responsible for the current peace, it's obvious that he'll keep admiring him, regardless of how cold he may be. Second it is very important to establish Damian's morals. Ever since he talked about his father during the war, in the bus hijacking arc, I wanted to know what he actually knew about his father's role in the previous conflict, if he aligned with his views and if he was indoctrinated somehow. But if he's convinced that his father stopped a war and he admires him for that, then it shows Damian is actually a pacifist, which will also make it all the more tragic when he'll eventually discover what Donovan is currently plotting.

Also it's interesting how Damian even ended up with these morals. Is Jeeves teaching him that? Does he do it following Donovan's orders or does he go against him? Or maybe it's just Damian's own personal values, it's not that weird that he naturally came to appreciate peace, I guess I just find it kinda weird that he wasn't taught the opposite. It's s very interesting.

Anyway, moving on

Yeah I think you really broke him Becky, he was fighting a Buzz demon in his sleep! The poor boy can't take any more! (The fiscal manifestation of the Paradise Fist is adorable!!!)

I love love loooove this part. The truth is that both Anya and Damian are geeky kids that have a lot of interests in common and they would have so much fun playing pretend together, if one of them wasn't so mean 👀

Anya likes the real Damian, the kid that likes action stories and has a big imagination. I really like that, because it shows she is not after him just because of Strix, it's obviously just his attitude that is throwing her off and that she actually appreciates his true self. I hope he'll start to realise that and embrace it. Like look at him! All the happy sparkles, he's so glad to have her attention. And the buzz going away. C'mon Damian don't you want to feel like this more often? Just a happy silly kid!

Also side note, he made the same face he made when he said Ewen and Emile were his only true friends! Adorable!

It seems like Damian has acknowledged and accepted his feelings of jealousy and that means that he has or he will acknowledge and accept the reason why they're there, the progression may be slow but it's definitely there and I really like how it's done.

Perfect way to end this chapter ahah, not only because it's funny, but also because it showcases yet another type of jealousy/envy. Showing that jealousy can come from different sources like friendships, crushes and parenting/mentoring and that both kids and adults are subject to it, once again helps with the message of the chapter about embracing these feelings and making peace with them.

All in all I loved this chapter. We finally explored Damian's feeling of jealousy, learned some interesting stuff and it had a very good moral message. Although I'm very biased because Eden chapters are always my favourites eheh. If Eden chapters have a million fans, then I am one of them. If Eden chapters have ten fans, then I am one of them. If Eden chapters have only one fan, that's me. If Eden chapters have no fans, then I'm dead.

he would be overall super pragmatic like does so much research, is a lot of this drive by nerves yes but it's productive sooo, he would be at every single appointment and would take handwritten notes and come with written down questions he or you have had since your last visit, he keeps a list ARGHH.... also he would very much advocate for you in any medical environment from the regular prenatal appointments to when you're actually in labor

like it’s nice to have a luigi by ur side tbh; ofc carries ultrasound pics in his wallet now, would be very sweet and thoroughly tender with you when you have morning sickness, would take parenting/birthing classes with you, would be a bit :0 thrown by hormone changes and mood swings (and self projection here but perhaps heightened anxiety) but he's extremely empathic and understanding like truly sincerely does such an amazing job of biting his tongue and letting stuff go lol

i fear luigi might get insanely overprotective bordering on overbearing like you eventually snap at him that you don't need help going down the stairs (even if maybe you kind of do?) if u had to be on bedrest towards the end, you'd hate it sooo much and he'd be so fucking strict omggg... running it like the navy 😫 but it's all out of love and an extreme amount of duty but still... the navy

he'd do a lot of research i think that at times luigi could get random bouts of feeling extremely overwhelmed; its daunting and he's so excited... but it's a bit daunting too and researching is what makes him feel more prepared; research on literally every aspect of pregnancy and babies in general, is always sending you articles and books are being delivered daily. would have a really official systematic process for deciding on a name. seems like a lot of lists would be crafted.... maybe even some spreadsheets

omg when ur in labor he def would be a bit nervous, a bit on edge, and very emotional... his anxiety might rub off on u at one point and you banish him to lap around the hospital floor and go get you ice chips bc him just staring at the monitors and vitals was freaking u out... but ultimately would be soooo sweet, would feel bad complaining/really doing anything but focusing on you and you have to force him to nap for a bit.... would be a bit in shock in the best way when ur baby is born like def crying, keeps repeating how surreal it is, and also SOO proud of u and ur baby :')

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

Tbh, I'm not mad that corvus joined the crown gaurd, I think it made a lot of sense given the circumstances. What I *am* annoyed about is that he just turned into some standard gaurd. I'm so annoyed that he didn't stay as a tracker/hunter. I mean, he's clearly very good at it, and you can't tell me that katolis dosent need anyone like that in their ranks. So I'm not annoyed that he joined the crown gaurd as much, but im definitely annoyed that his character arc was basically his character being reduced. I'd rather him have the same sort of screentime as arc 1 if it meant they cluod keep his character ngl

Different Path Taken Ch19 P1: Runaan and Skor's Discussion

I'm not as happy with this section as I have been with some of the other tough ones, and I haven't quite isolated what the problem is. It might end up going through some bigger edits? I don't know, I kinda wanna just be done with it, since while it feels clumsy, it did go over what I wanted it to do.

Skor wasn’t far away when Runaan found him.  He didn’t even need to track prints through the snow, as the other swordsman was sitting on an outcropping of rock within sight of the cave entrance, eyes fixed on the human village below.  Runaan made sure to crunch a bit of snow on his approach, and saw Skor glance at him, so he wasn’t startled when Runaan sat down on the rock beside him. 

“How stable are you?” Runaan asked softly, without looking directly at him, just looking out of the corner of his eye.

Skor sighed through his nose. “He’s coming with us, isn’t he.”

“I asked first.”

“That’s a yes.” Skor rubbed his forehead tiredly, and when Runaan looked a little closer, he winced internally at the exhausted lines around his eyes and the tight pupils.  He wasn’t panicked anymore, but this was taking a toll on him. 

Runaan sighed, not bothering to contradict him, and cast his own eyes down to the village.  He spared a moment to hope Rayla - and those he had sent with her - were doing well, and the humans had found some help for the egg. “It seems the most viable option going forward.”

“We can’t trust him.” Skor growled. “You know better than anyone, Runaan.  Humans can’t be trusted and that one works for her.”

Runaan tilted his head at him. “And what makes the princes so different?”

Skor pressed his lips into a thin line and shook his head. “Nothin’.  Small children don’t have higher morals, they have needs and people who fill them, and human children grow up slower than ours in that way.  Right now, that’s us, so of course Ezran wants to help.  It might even work for a few years.  But once he goes home, is surrounded by adults that hate us the way they do for enough years?  I doubt it will last.  Callum is old enough t’ have his own values, but he won’t be the one on the throne that could actually harm us.”

Runaan frowned a bit and looked back down to the village, where he had sent them, entrusting the future of the world to the boys Skor now spoke of with such skepticism. “I don’t think either of them are young enough to be in that state of mind,” He said carefully. “While it’s true that human children mature . . . slower, Ezran should be around the same mindset as Rayla was when I took her in.  She was more than capable of this kind of planning and reason - as you well know.”

Skor shook his head. “Does it matter?  We’ll do this, and it’ll be a reprieve for a few years, if it works.  It’ll save our home from Zubeia, at least.  I don’t doubt their intentions now.  I just . . . don’t trust them to keep them.  Especially back in Katolis once it’s over, with her counsel.”

“Perhaps,” Runaan conceded, reluctantly, after a moment. “But while she is vicious to us, she is a general in a war.  We have never been given a reason to believe she would turn on her own people, and these are her own nephews.  I do not believe she would give Corvus orders that would lead to their harm.”

“Like your friends would never have abandoned their posts or their daughter?” Skor asked, and the words struck Runaan so close to the heart that he couldn’t even process the tone that they came with.  He flinched involuntarily.

He didn’t grit his teeth, but it was a near thing, and he groaned softly into his hands as he rubbed the stress lines from his own face. “That was different.”

“Yes, it was,” Skor growled. “We knew them better than we know her.  What makes ye think we can trust her more than we trusted them?”

Runaan growled right back at him. “I am not saying we should trust him, and certainly not her.  Even if she would turn on her nephews, the tracker may not be willing to harm them.  He knows he can’t fight us.  We keep him with us, keep him close, to keep an eye on him.  If he stays true to his word, he may be an asset.”

“And when he doesn’t?”

“We put him to sleep, and drop him as far off our trail as we can, and leave.” Runaan said, meeting his burning golden eyes again. “If he continues to chase after that, you and Ram may deal with him as viciously as you choose.”

Skor held his gaze for a long minute, searching, before finally giving a huff and looking back down at the village, his shoulders dropping in concession.

Runaan kept looking at his profile, and sighed again, softly.  He placed a gentle hand on his friend’s shoulder, and Skor leaned away from it for a moment before settling, pushing back against the weight of it instead. “I know how difficult this is.” He said. “Believe me, I understand what I am asking of you.”

Skor shook his head. “It’s what’s best for the mission.” He replied, voice brittle. “What it does to us is secondary.” He looked over at Runaan through his hair and acknowledged, softer, “I lost my voice, but you lost four lives to her.  That’s far worse.”

Closing his eyes at the memory of the elves he had been forced to abandon inside the caves, Runaan took a deep, even breath, and shook his head. “I will not quantify suffering.” He said after a moment. “You lost a life, too, in a way.  The life you should have had.”

The thought hung in the air between them for a moment, both well aware that if things had turned out differently - if Skor had not lost his voice, and his pride had not been killed under Runaan���s command - he would likely have retired several years ago.  He would not be in Katolis at all.

“I’ve made my peace with that.” Skor said softly. “Have you?”

Runaan blinked at him. “Have I made my peace with what?”

Skor glanced at him through his hair. “Losin’ the life you should have had.”

“What are you . . .” the question died in Runaan’s throat as Skor tilted his head towards the village below, the implication from before pressing in like blades around his ears.  He laid them back a little defensively.

“You set all your plans aside for two elves who’ve gone on t’ betray you.” Skor pointed out softly. 

Runaan rubbed the marks across his nose, closing his eyes against the darkness pressing in from his sides. “You know as well as I do the Dragonguard had no choice in leaving,” He said slowly. “What was I supposed to do?  I had been a part of Rayla’s life since she was born.  Was I to leave her with someone else?”

“That’s not what I mean.” Skor said, tilting his head to look at Runaan around the hair that fell over his face. “That was seven years ago, an’ she’s only fifteen.  They didn’t have a choice about leavin’?  They left t’ protect her?  They threw her life away along with the rest of us when they ran.  Saved their own skins instead.”

“Skor-”

“We’ve all a right t’ be angry with them for that,” Skor pressed. “But even before that, Rayla’s only fifteen.  She’ll remember more of her life with you than with them.  She’s practically grown, and they did what, sent letters?  That’s not parenting, and you know it.  They dropped that on you, an’ never let ye take the title ye deserve for the responsibility ye took, too selfish to let her have a family they weren’t a part of.”

Runaan flinched, hand dropping from Skor’s shoulder and covering his own face as he grimaced. “That doesn’t - Skor, I can’t deal with this right now,” He said desperately. “She is their daughter, she is the one who suffers the most from what they’ve done.  Her feelings on the matter come first.”

“That’s my point.” Skor shifted his weight onto his opposite hip to turn a little more towards Runaan, arching his brows pointedly. “You’re the only adult in her life that always puts her first, except Ethari, and honestly, my friend, I’m not as sure as you are that he’d choose her over you.”

He would.  Runaan was more than confident of that.  He grimaced at the very thought of making him choose, though, and shook his head.

“I’m not sayin’ ye should talk to Rayla about it.” Skor said. “It’s not her job tae take care of you.  But I knew them, too.  Ye do have other friends, not all of us willin’ to fuck you over for seven years and end it with a stab in the back.”

Runaan flinched again and snapped. “Alright, yes, I am angry!  I am confused, and frustrated.  I do not understand what changed, I trusted - I loved them as my brother and sister, and I can’t - I don’t understand why they would betray us like this.  But I cannot deal with this right now.  I must do what I can to minimize the damage from what they’ve done, to Rayla and to our people’s reputation in the eyes of the dragons.”

“You’ve been cleanin’ up after those two your whole life.” Skor observed softly.

Runaan grimaced. “That will no longer be an issue after this, will it?” He said bitterly, and then narrowed his eyes at Skor. “And you are deflecting.”

Skor wrinkled his nose at him and lifted his lip to show one chipped fang in halfhearted spite. “I don’t wanna talk about it.”

Runaan showed his own fangs right back, heart aching at the memory of when that fang had been chipped, but appeased when Skor’s mouth closed again under his show of dominance. “I will not force you,” He said anyway, a little wry after Skor had done exactly that to him. “But know that I am here if you need it.  I know, better than anyone, why this is difficult for you, and I share your concerns.”

“It’s what’s best for the mission.” Skor repeated reluctantly, and groaned softly as he leaned back on his hands, raising his face to the sun’s heat and closing his eyes against its light. “Runaan, if he says anythin’ else about that woman’s honor -”

“I will not restrict his right to speak,” Runaan said, but shrugged when Skor scowled. “But I will not restrict yours, either.  If he offends you, respond as you wish, just - verbally.  We don’t resort to violence until he does.”

Skor’s eyes remained shut but he nodded slowly. “Fine.”

He would not have returned to the field, and Runaan would not have allowed him to stay there, if he weren’t capable of stabilizing even under circumstances that brought up plagues from his past.  Runaan accepted this answer and looked back down to the village below.  He took note of a small group of people - four - one smaller than the other three - leaving the well-trodden path towards where he and Skor sat up on the slope. “The children are returning.”

“Then we should do the same.” Skor said, sounding far calmer than he had when Runaan first approached him, at least, and nodded with eyes open when Runaan looked at him again.  They both stood up and dusted the bits of snow off of themselves, and took a few breaths to clear their minds after the discussion they’d had.  Skor returned to the cave, ducking inside with only a glance at Runaan.  Runaan remained by the entrance, waiting for the children to return.

For all they weren’t all his children, he couldn’t help his growing concern for the human boys, and he had known Ram since he was quite young as well.  They were all his responsibility.

He shoved Skor’s words from earlier out of his mind.  Rayla’s needs came first.  He knew what he had to do about his friends’ betrayal, and processing his reaction to it could come later, when he had less on his plate and could justify devoting precious energy to doing so.

sylph of life here! (a BUNCH of text below)

i think i mostly chose it through taking a bunch of quizzes n shit at first but the more i delve into the hells of general classpect analysis i started to think about it more

i remember before getting into homestuck one of my friends who waas trying to get me into it in the first place wanted me to figure out my classpect so i took the big hiveswap quiz or whatever it is and it said that i was a fuschia prospit life player then for the class my friend sent me a giant picture of all of da classpects and i basically just chose which outfit i liked da best at da time which ended up being a witch of life lol

n then after a bunch of quizzes i took after getting into homestuck kept telling me sylph (with varying aspects admittedly) i bit the bullet and decided i was a sylph timeskip to nearly a year after deciding that atp i still ponder what it means for me sometimes (since i don't necessarily mess around w life as an aspect as much as i do other ones like heart or light for example, mostly cuz of oc fixations) i definitely resonate with sylph as this meddling sort of class who feels da need to get involved with whatever your aspect is especially when u feel like there's a lack of it so you invite this sort of creation of your aspect like it's described as in textbook terms in other people, for them to then hopefully reciprocate that lack of aspect back to you in a weird passive roundabout way which i experience a lot tbh whether i wanna have to do that or not like aranea inviting the creation of "relevance" to characters like terezi n jake to fuel her need to be a part of the story (fueling her own relevance as a result of perpetrating it) for example (which might not be the greatest one tbh knowing how much it makes jake n terezi miserable as a result; but being "relevant" often ends up being really shitty anyways in homestuck and as a result other pieces of media cuz if you're in the spotlight then the author is going to make you suffer for the #narrative anyways no matter how much u idolize/romanticize it) and i think i stuck w/ Life as an aspect because i simply related to it da most whenever i heard discussion about it online or anything life as an aspect deals a lot w positivity n healing n growth n luxury and stuff like that which is something i focus on and advocate for a lot in my life so as a sylph of life i'd be trying to allow other people to experience this sort of luxury n healing n everything for themselves with the hope that one day maybe they'd do the same for me whether it be because i'm too afraid to directly ask for what i want myself (and try to be more Active i guess) no matter how much it eats at me or because i find that boosting these people up end up being the most fulfilling feeling to me cuz i like seeing them happy n all whenever i seem to be unable to fill whatever void i have myself whether it be a lack of Life or connection to others (like a lone flower who yearns for da comfort of a garden or something idk Life is pretty plant-y right) which often leads to mixed or unexpected results on my end lol (/generally positive?) all of my fumbling around being either intentional or not (most often being the latter lol) so yes i am a people pleaser thank you for NOT asking. (SILLY) (at least i'm aware of it ig? lol) no wonder i relate i lot to characters like feferi (another witch of life mention lol) because she tries so hard to make others feel ok and well so she can feel like a perfect potential queen bee with the ability to make all of alternia (and by extension herself) happy again who her ancestor, the condesce isn't/wasn't (albeit in her more witch-y manipulation/change-y based ways rather than my sylph-y creating it/meddle-y/opinion-y ways, though there is a lot of overarching overlap lol) i also feel like the Sylph's described Quest/goal is to truly act upon those needs/opinions instead of hanging on the sidelines fits a lot for me, especially knowing that's probably the Biggest Thing I Need to Work On With Myself rn (and knowing I've been struggling w/ that 4 a long time)

and i know that individually/separately, both Sylphs and Life Players are both super stubborn when it comes to their ideals/beliefs/goals; so realizing this quest is going to take a LOT of effort to push through (which also fits really well for me, apparently) if worse comes to worst, i am definitely wordy enough to be a sylph, LOL. (as i read back through this in my drafts) i feel like i've thought a lot more about why i chose this classpect in this post than i really have ever now that i think about it but if anything i feel more attached to it haha i am the star. it's me. hell fucking yes. this was a great excuse to ramble about it and work out my classpecting muscles (which could be all droopy n flimsy for all i know lol)! i had a ton of fun writing this :3 so tl;dr (if you clicked on keep reading and quickly began to regret it as you tried to keep scrolling and scrolling down): i simply stumbled upon my choice willy-nilly and ended up realizing it was a surprisingly accurate way to describe me MUCH later on, when i finally thought about it for more than two seconds lol! n either if you did read through all of this somehow or not, i hope you have an awesome day! all of the smiles :333

Silver doesn't need another father. He's already got one of those, technically, but the man turned out to be a weak, cowardly bastard who couldn't face his own problems let alone raise a child. The way he sees it, there's no need to set himself for more disappointment. He's got a roof over his head and food to eat, and that's far more than he could ever depend on in the last... however many years he'd been living on the streets. Lance and Clair are annoying as hell, but while he's training in the Dragon Den, he doesn't exactly have much room to complain. Not out loud, anyways.

Lance doesn't particularly want to be a dad either. He's already got too much responsibility on his plate as Champion, and this kid clearly needs so much more emotional support than he feels like he can provide. Simply convincing him to move into his guest room was enough of a struggle, and it only really worked because Lance had promised Silver he could "earn" his keep. What the hell is up with that, anyways? He's not sure what Silver's past looks like, and he's not about to go prying, but the bare minimum he can do is make sure he doesn't have to rough it out in the woods anymore. At least Clair seems to be having fun training him...

Clair is more than ready to be an aunt. The other two refuse to admit to caring for each other, but unlike them, she's not afraid of something as stupid as her emotions. The brat's slowly but surely been mellowing out during his training, and her idiot cousin has actually been taking care of himself for once in order to be a "good example." Silver has even caught on to calling Lance "old man" like she does, on account of those ugly-ass reading glasses the all-mighty Champion has to wear, and she couldn't be prouder. Best part is, she doesn't have to spend a dime except to treat the kid every so often! That's a win in her book if ever there was one.

definitely had this standing archetype in my head that cordelia chase was "the mean girl" while on btvs and learned better on ats but rewatching it today i'm honestly like. from season 2 onwards really her main fault is "says rude/tactless things sometimes, largely played for laughs" whereas nearly every other character is so deeply mean to her in a way that is wholly meanspirited and uncalled for. what the hell lol.
