honestly do i NEED to go that deep into analysis of this manga for my fanfic?

objectively, no. im not obligated to.

BUT. for the level of quality i want to achieve with this fic, it's a Requirement. i need to have an iron grasp on both the timeline and the events within, ESPECIALLY where it pertains to People Dying. knowledge about settings & the people that live there is a must (aka why im putting so much effort into researching the flying ship things rn), but the MOST IMPORTANT THING for writing a vash who is dedicated to saving as many lives as possible. is to know exactly who is going to need saved.

vash has a very good memory. we see that he remembers every single person in his travels. he remembers every single death, & is still haunted by them to this day. to accurately write such a bleeding heart of a man, i need to know this manga inside and out.

#speculation nation #itnl shit #might honestly make some document refs for myself #detailing the conclusions i come to & the people involved #i need to look back on where we first meet sensei bc he mentions the person who makes vash's armor by name #we dont see him but he's Mentioned. there are so many names for characters mentioned that we never meet.#so my goal is to create characters for names we know. and then make up new ones for things we dont.#there are 320 living residents on the ship. 490 before the attack. that's a lot of people. that's a LOT of people.#and there are people we see that we dont get the names of. names we dont get the sight of. so many open little details.#i like hammering down those details though. with discacc that means researching very specific things for japanese culture.#for this? it means scanning page after page after page. and if the manga doesnt provide that detail. im making it up myself.#the good news is i have a pretty great mind for details. if i make up something i am going to remember it. that is an Orcelito Promise.
