not to be sad on main but the scene in the locker room with all the kids chanting "miyagi-do" made me sob because all i could think about was what mr. miyagi would think, seeing all these students keeping his family's karate going. how proud he would be of daniel as a sensei. how amazed he would be at all their hard work. how honored he would be to see his traditions continued. and i cry even more because i imagine what pat morita would think, to see his beloved character live on for a new generation. i can't help but cry even as i write this. i wish he were here to see this yet i somehow think he already knows.

Sensei Lawerence takes you and Miguel back to the old dojo where Cobra Kai was reborn back in 2018. Back where you first started learning a different kind of offense than what your dad taught you.
Mr. LaRusso joins in on the training a long with the rest of Miyagi-Do, helping you and Miguel prep for tomorrow's final events.
You're focused, determined to win. Win against Zara, Silver, Wolf, for you, your friends, and family. This wasn't just about revenge anymore.
And while you still weren't sure why Axel felt the need to do what he did, you'd fight for him too.
You tied your tennis shoes up, getting ready to head out for the evening to rest up for tomorrow, when Tory and Sam approach you.
"You doing okay?" Sam asks hovering over you.
"Of course," you respond, moving to stand up on your feet.
Tory glances over at Sam, both sharing a look of worry.
"You're fighting better than you ever have before," Tory says flatly. "But we can see you're struggling. And we both know why."
You sigh, glancing between her and Sam. "I'm fine."
Sam raises an eyebrow. "You're not fine. You're worried about him."
You glance down at your feet ashamed they were able to catch on to what you had been thinking about since the moment you woke up this morning.
"I get it," Tory says catching your attention. "I've been there before. Under Silver’s thumb. It messes with you. Makes you believe things you normally wouldn’t."
Her eyebrows are drawn in together as she clears her throat, remembering her time she spent with Silver, Kreese, and sensei Kim.
"But Silver has a way of making you think you're making your own choices when you're really just following his orders," she explains. "It wasn't until Robby and Sam helped me see I wasn't alone."
You stare at her, taking in her words, but the doubt still lingers. You want to believe Axel had a choice. That he could have walked away, that he wouldn’t have hurt Robby unless he truly wanted to.
But if what Tory is saying is true… maybe he never had that chance. You swallow hard, staring down at your hands. "So what do I do?"
Tory and Sam exchange a glance before Sam speaks.
"Right now? You focus on tomorrow. You fight for what’s right. And when the time comes… you help Axel see he still has a choice."
--------------------------------------------------------
The energy in the air crackles with anticipation, the arena buzzing as the final matches draw closer. You should be focusing, mentally preparing for your own fight, but your eyes keep searching for one person.
You're lingering outside of the locker rooms, when Axel walks from around the corner, fists clenching and unclenching at his sides. He's struggling internally.
Your heart twists, knowing he was at war with himself. Taking a steady breath, you approach him. "Axel."
His head lifts at the sound of your voice, eyes flickering with something unreadable before settling into guarded steel.
"You shouldn’t be here," he mutters, glancing around the hallway as if someone might catch you two together.
"That's not up to you, I needed to see you," you frown.
A sharp exhale leaves him as you step closer. You can tell he wants to keep his distance, but his body betrays him, instinctively leaning toward you.
"You okay?" you ask softly.
He doesn’t answer right away. Instead, he stares at the floor, his breathing measured, too controlled. Then, finally, he shakes his head. "No."
The honesty stuns you for a second, but you don’t waver. "Tell me what's going on, maybe I can help."
He remains silent, struggling to form everything he wants to say into words. But he can't. Not with Silver and Wolf still around.
You hear the announcement that the tournament will begin shortly making you sigh.
"Whatever it is, you can still make the right choice, Axel," you remind him gently.
His head snaps up, his blue orbs locking onto yours. You don’t know what Silver and Wolf have told him, what they’ve demanded from him, but you do know Axel.
You know the boy who always looked out for you, who wants to be apart of your life, who had a heart buried beneath all his walls.
Taking a step back, you turn on your heel, leaving him to ponder your words. When you've stepped inside the gymnasium, you find your team where they're assigned to and head over to them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please find your seats!"
As you approach Miguel, you see him and Sam canoodling beside the mat.
"Is that what it takes to win?" You tease your friends as they pulled away from their kiss.
"Maybe," Miguel suppresses a grin holding on to Sam by her waist. "She just told me about Okinawa."
"Oh," you nod forcing on a smile. "Right."
"You're going to Okinawa, Y/n," Sam reassures you. "Even if I have to sneak you in my suitcase."
You laugh, rolling your eyes at her comment. As she gives you a hug of good luck, she makes her way to sit with her parents, Tory, and Robby on the side.
"Alright guys, this is it," Johnny voices as you and Miguel gather next him. "Just focus on what you need to do out there and nothing else. Both of you."
You both nod in agreement.
"Don't worry about overall points," he advises you. "Just win your fight. Okay?"
"No," Miguel disagrees immediately. "Sorry sensei, but there's no way in hell we're letting Silver buy himself another title."
You nod in agreement. "He's right, we can close the gap."
Johnny looks relieved and proud at what you both want to accomplish. "Badass."
The same rules are applied for the finals, it's two minutes, three rounds, with unlimited scoring. Knockdowns are worth ten points, and if a downed fighter cannot reengage within ten seconds, it will be considered a knockout and worth twenty points.
Which is what you planned to do with Zara.
"And now the final match to determine our world male champion, please come to the mat, Miguel Diaz of Cobra Kai."
Miguel steps up on to the mat, you clapping shouting for your co-captain.
"And Axel Kovačević of the Iron Dragons."
You see Wolf hovering over Axel, whispering over things you can't imagine. When he steps up on the stage, you feel that knot in your stomach, hoping this could be a fair fight.
You hoped he could hang on to your words.
"Good luck to both of you," Gunther wishes before moving off the mat so the red could take over.
When the ref brings his hands down to start the fight, you're squeezing your own hands tied behind your back watching with weariness.
The moment Miguel scores, you're elated. And then he does it again, and again. He's up five points and Axel is at 0.
When the horn blares, you and Johnny are cheering, waiting for your teammate to come back to you.
"Great job!" You encourage Miguel, all of you getting him with a fist bump.
You know Axel's frustrated, it's evident all over his face. And when Silver walks away in annoyance, it only has you relieved.
The boys are called back for the second round, but this time it's harder to watch.
Axel has flipped his switch, and while not violating any rules, his strikes and kicks are packed with a punch, sending Miguel to the ground when the horn is rung for the end of round 2.
Your eyes are wide as you watch Axel come to a stop in front of Miguel who held his hands up for mercy. The breath you had been holding is let go when Axel walks in the opposite direction, leaving you co-captain to stand up and go back to you guys.
As Johnny talked sense into his step-son, you kept an eye on Axel as Silver and Wolf surrounded him with threats you could only assume.
When sensei Lawerence ties his headband over Miguels head, you hear his grandma shout, "kick his ass, Miggy!" in Spanish making you laugh and clap.
"You can do this, Miguel!" You shout as he walks back on to the mat with his opponent.
The next two minutes are heart stopping as you watch your teammate begin to come back, point by point, reflecting on his past, and gaining momentum.
"He leaves himself open for the roundhouse when he pivots. If targeted correctly, it can be broken," Wolf's instructions were clear as Silver shouted for him to do what he was asked.
Across the mat, past the chaos of the arena, his eyes find you. You're standing frozen, hands clenched at your sides, your face stricken with worry, fear, pleading.
Not for Miguel. Not for the fight.
For him.
Your words echo in his head, cutting through the noise, through the orders, through the fear.
"You always have a choice."
The moment stretches unbearably long, and then, with a sharp inhale, Axel makes his decision.
He breaks eye contact with you, turning to his right to do a sweep, allowing Miguel to complete his move and earn a point with his roundhouse.
You and johnny are now reaching for each other as you watch Miguel score again and again, when he's tied with Axel, you're both holding your breath.
The horn blares as Miguel kicks Axel across the face, sending him to the ground, earning a total of 25 points making him the winner.
"Knockdown. Winner!"
You and sensei Lawerence run up on to the mat, enveloping your co-captain into a bear hug.
"You did it, Miguel!" You're smiling from ear to ear. He pulls back away from you, still holding you close.
"Now it's your turn."
You nod, a smirk tugging at your lips. Everyone takes their turn congratulating Miguel.
"Congratulations to our new Sekai Taikai boys' champion, Miguel Diaz!"
The crowd is cheering for Miguel who has made his way to the front, raising his fist up. Glancing to your left, you see Axel in a spat exchange with sensei Wolf, making you nervous.
As Axel began to walk away, Wolf reaches out for him, but he shrugs him off sending him one last glare, before walking away.
He walked away. Was this it for him?
"We'll take a short intermission before our final event, the girls' championship," Gunther announced.
---------------------------------------------------------
Axel finishes wiping the blood off from under his nose, tossing the tissue in the trash. He's just stood up to Wolf, the man that's practically raised him since he could walk.
He doesn’t know what comes next. All he knows is that he’s done. Done being their puppet. Done being afraid.
The door suddenly creaks open, and Axel stiffens, catching Robby’s reflection in the mirror. For a moment, neither of them says anything. Robby just stands there, leaning into his crutches.
The tension is thick, nearly suffocating. Axel grips the counter, staring at his own exhausted reflection before exhaling sharply. He hesitates, forcing himself to turn and face him. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" Robby's voice is even, but there’s an edge to it.
Axel swallows. "For all of it." He pauses. "I didn’t want to do it."
"Right. But you did it anyway," Robby scoffs, shaking his head.
Axel clenches his fists, willing himself to stay calm. He deserves this. Every bit of it. "I didn’t have a choice."
Robby lets out a bitter laugh. "There’s always a choice, man."
Axel flinches. Those are her words. He lets out a shaky breath before speaking again, this time quieter.
"They threatened Y/n."
Robby freezes at the mention of your name.
"They told me if I didn’t do it, they’d hurt her." Axel's voice is raw, his hands tightening around the counters edge. "So I made the wrong choice. I hate myself for it. But if it meant keeping her safe, I—" He shakes his head, looking down. "I didn't know what else to do."
Robby exhales slowly, his features softening just slightly. He knows that feeling. The panic. The helplessness. The way fear warps your judgment until you can’t tell right from wrong anymore.
He remembers standing over Miguel at the school fight, the rage and confusion clouding his mind before he kicked him over the railing. He remembers the regret. The way it nearly consumed him.
And looking at Axel now, he sees the same thing.
"Does Y/n know about this?" Robby asks quietly. Axel shakes his head, turning to face him.
"No," he responds. "I'm not sure she'll forgive me."
"Not so long as you're with them," Robby says referring to the Iron Dragons team.
Axel nods, slipping the white captain's headband off. "I'm done with them. With all of it."
Robby studies him for a moment before nodding, leaning against the counter.
"You should tell her," Robby says, voice firm but not unkind. "I know what it’s like to screw up. To think you’ve lost everyone because of one bad decision. But if she means that much to you, she deserves to know the truth."
Axel looks down, his chest tightening.
"And for what it’s worth, I get it," Robby finishes. There's a beat of silence before the injured boy opens the door, standing with it open.
"She's gonna want you there... you coming or not?"
Pushing himself off the counter, Axel makes his way over to the exit of the bathroom.
---------------------------------------------------------
"And now, our final match of this year's Sekai Taikai! Representing the Iron Dragons, Zara Malik! And representing Cobra Kai, Y/n L/n! Would the fighters please come to the mat."
You walked to stand in the middle of the mat, waiting for you match to begin, but your eyes can't help but wonder around the arena searching for him.
"If he comes back, it's not for you," you hear that same irritating voice.
Rolling your eyes, you cross you hands behind your back, sticking your nose up at the snarky girl in front of you. You wouldn't give her the satisfaction.
Zara tilts her head, her smirk widening as she steps closer to you.
"You act so confident, like you're untouchable," she says her, voice dropping just enough to sound almost pitying. "But deep down, you know you'll never come first."
Your eyes drop to meet her insincere look of remorse.
"Because when it comes down to it, when he has to choose between you and the Iron Dragons, you really think he’s choosing you?"
A snarl is forming on your lips as you move close to her when the horn blares off bringing you back to your event.
"Fighters, face me," the ref instructs. "Bow. Each other, bow."
When you've given the bow of respect, you jump into stance, ready to go.
"Fighting stances, ready? Fight!"
The moment the referee signals the start of the match, you barely have time to blink before Zara charges. You pivot just in time to block her first strike, her fist colliding hard against your forearm.
She’s fast, faster than you expected, but you refuse to let that shake you. You’ve trained for this. You belong here.
Zara feints left before sweeping her leg toward your ribs. You twist out of the way, retaliating with a sharp front kick to her chest: Point!
The scoreboard flashes 1-0, and a surge of confidence rushes through you. But it doesn’t last. Zara recovers quickly, her expression unreadable as she resets her stance.
She’s calculating, waiting for an opening, and the second she finds it, she exploits it. She steps in, ducking beneath your guard before landing a brutal spinning kick to your side.
You grunt as pain ripples through you: point Zara.
The scoreboard shifts to 1-1.
The match continues at a relentless pace, every strike faster and sharper than the last. You score again with a well-placed counterpunch: 2-1
But Zara doesn’t hesitate to answer back with a high kick to your head: 2-2. You exhale, rolling your shoulders as you reset. Focus.
Zara smirks. "Is that all you got?"
You grit your teeth, forcing yourself to stay calm. The next exchange happens in a blur. You manage to catch Zara off guard, sweeping her leg out from under her before striking her shoulder as she stumbles: 3-2.
But she isn’t rattled. She adjusts quickly, and before you can capitalize, she surges forward with a powerful combination, punch to your ribs, knee to your stomach, and a final backfist to your jaw: 3-5, Zara.
The buzzer sounds, signaling the end of round one.
You step back, chest rising and falling as you shake out your arms. Zara straightens, barely looking winded as she tosses you a smug look.
Muttering under your breath, you turn to walk away from the middle.
"Shake it off, shake it off," Johnny is walking alongside you. "You got three points."
"She's still up by two," you huff as you two make your way down the steps.
"That's nothing, you're giving her a run for her money," Johnny points out. "She's scared because her flashy shit isn't working anymore."
You're not completely convinced by your sensei's words as Zara's name is being chanted throughout the arena, your own hometown was cheering for her.
"Dad," Robby approaches sensei Lawerence, Axel trailing behind him making you furrow your eyebrows. "Could you give us a second?"
Sensei Lawerence is just as confused as you when he see's Axel and his son together, Robby sending him a reassuring look. Johnny walks off but not without glaring in Axel's direction making the boy look down ashamed.
"What are you doing over here?" You ask glancing over your shoulder, seeing Silver and Wolf already looking over in your direction.
"He's with us," Robby says lightly. "He told me why he did what he did. I would have done the same thing if Silver threatened to hurt Tory."
Robby see's the confusion on your face. "Just hear him out. It's okay."
When he goes to hobble away on his crutches, your gaze flickers to Axel. He looks like he barely knows where to start.
"Silver and Wolf… they told me if I didn’t do what they asked, they’d hurt you instead," he explains lightly, hands clenching at his sides. "I couldn’t let that happen."
Your mind is racing as you finally recognize the boy in front of you. Every angry, heartbroken thought you’ve held onto over the past few days suddenly tangles into something messier, something heavier.
Axel takes a deep breath, moving closer to you as if he's afraid you'd walk way at any moment.
"I know it doesn’t change what I did," he stammers out. "I just— I love you."
Your heart lurches.
He’s never said it before. And yet, somehow, you already knew. Before you can think, before you can even process the weight of everything, you move.
"I love you too," you say without hesitation, your hands fist his gi as you crash your lips against his, every emotion spilling into the kiss. The ache, the anger, the relief, all of it.
He kisses you back immediately, hands moving to pull at your waist towards him. The crowd erupts in cheers, some confused, some excited, but the noise barely registers.
But Silver and Wolf, they notice. Their expressions darken, their carefully crafted plan unraveling before their eyes. They have officially lost Axel Kovačević. To you.
You pull away just enough to rest your forehead against Axel’s, your breaths mingling.
"You mean it?" you whisper.
Axel chuckles against your lips, leaning his forehead against yours as the camera flash from beside you.
The boy nods, eyes locked onto yours. "Absolutely."
The horn suddenly blares, signaling for the next round.
"Now go win this whole fucking thing," Axel states sending a surge of fire through you.
You nod, turning to walk back up the steps, facing your opponent once again. For the last time.
Rolling your shoulders back, you take a deep breath, and channel everything you're feeling.
As you move through your kata, Zara gives you a look of confusion before the ref calls for fighting stances.
"Fight!"
She throws a sharp jab aimed for your ribs, but you deflect it, pivoting around her with precision. Your hand grips her gi before she can react, and with a swift motion, you hook her leg and sweep her off her feet, sending her crashing onto the mat.
"Takedown, ten points!"
The arena roars, but you don’t hesitate. The second Zara scrambles to her feet, frustration flashing across her face, you duck under her incoming punch, shifting your weight before flipping her over your shoulder in a Ippon Seoi Nage.
Second takedown. "Takedown, ten points!"
She slams into the mat harder this time, a grunt of pain escaping her. You hear Silver shouting from the sidelines, his anger barely contained.
Zara shakes her head as she gets up, her eyes blazing, but you can see the doubt creeping in.
You adjust your stance, smirking. Zara growls, charging at you. She throws a high kick, but you sidestep, your reflexes razor-sharp.
Before she can recover, you hook your leg around hers and slam her down in a leg sweep takedown.
"Takedown, ten points!"
The crowd erupts. Johnny and Daniel cheer from the sidelines, Miguel pumping his fist in the air. Axel is standing alongside them, arms crossed as he watches you.
Zara stumbles back to her feet, her breath ragged, but her anger is blinding her now. She lunges recklessly, desperate for a hit.
She’s exactly where you want her.
She throws a spinning back kick, you see it coming from a mile away. You lean back just enough to dodge, then snap forward with a fast flying tornado, your heel connecting squarely with her jaw.
The impact sends her flying to the ground. Zara hits the mat with a brutal thud, and she doesn’t get up.
Silence blankets the arena for a beat.
"Knockout! Winner!"
The arena explodes into a chaos of cheers and screams as your team runs up to you, Miguel and sensei Lawerence pulling you into a hug.
You can't help the tears that have began to fall as everyone you know and love envelops you into a hug, each wishing you a congratulations.
Axel is the last one to approach you, before you can even say anything, he scoops you up effortlessly, lifting you off the ground and spinning you around.
A surprised laugh bubbles from your lips as you cling onto him, feeling the warmth of his embrace, the steadiness of his hold.
"I knew you could do it, ljubavi," he murmurs into your ear. You grin embracing him as he set you down.
"Congratulations to our new Sekai Taikai girls' champion... Y/n L/n!"
When Axel steps back to give you your spotlight, you face the cheering crowd that was chanting your name, giving them the bow of respect.
"What an absolutely thrilling conclusion, please join me in congratulating our girls' and boys' champions... Y/n L/n and Miguel Diaz of Cobra Kai!"
You're handed your new trophy, you and Miguel raising them to show the crowd your team's victory.
"This leads us to only to declare our overall dojo champion... Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the grand trophy to the winners of the Sekai Taikai. Now officially the world's number one dojo, Cobra Kai!"
--------------------------------------------------------
The salty breeze rolls in from the ocean, warm against your skin as you walk through the quiet streets of Okinawa.
The city has become familiar to you in the months since you arrived, its rhythm, its sounds, its serenity. Winning the Sekai Taikai had changed everything. The sponsorships, the recognition, the chance to study and train in Japan
It was more than you had ever imagined for yourself. And your best friend.
As you make your way to the original Miyagi-Do, a small dojo nestled in the hills just outside the city, where you often train in the afternoons, after your classes.
Your eyebrows furrow as you notice the dojo doors are slightly open, the soft sound of movement coming from inside. Maybe it was Sam.
Pulling the doors open, you step inside, a tall figure taking you by surprise.
Axel stands in the middle of the dojo in his red t-shirt that you tried to steal the last time he was here, with his hands intertwined behind his back.
"Hey, ljubavi," he greets, his smirk small but unmistakable.
"How'd you know I'd be here?" You grin resting your hands on your hips, tilting your head to the side. He takes a few steps forward.
"A little birdie told me," he teases you.
"Would that little birdie happen to be Sam?" You chuckle as he stands a whole foot over you, eyes never leaving yours.
Axel hums, shrugging a shoulder. "Maybe."
You can't help but throw yourself into his arms, Axel lets out a breath of surprise but catches you easily, his arms wrapping tightly around your waist as he lifts you off the ground.
You bury your face into his shoulder, inhaling the familiar scent of him, of home.
"I missed you," you murmur against his skin.
Axel presses a kiss to your temple, holding you just as tightly. "I missed you more."
He finally sets you down, but his hands linger on your waist, thumbs brushing over your skin in a way that sends butterflies flooding through you.
"So miss champion," Axel tilts his head, smirking down at you. "We going to stand here and make out or are we going to do some kumite?"
You raise a brow, a slow grin spreading across your lips. "And here I thought you'd be too tired from the flight over here"
Axel leans in slightly, voice dropping into something more playful.
"Someone needs to make sure you’re still keeping up."
You scoff, stepping back as you slip into a ready stance. "As you wish, Sensei."
His smirk falters for half a second, a flicker of something warm flashing in his eyes before he mirrors your stance. "Ready?"
You laugh, heart racing with excitement as the two of you circle each other, the salt air rifting through the open doors.
"Ready."
This, right here, was everything you had dreamed of.

Robby is the underdog - Part 7
In s6e5, the leitmotif for Daniel's kk1 win against Johnny was used for Robby's captaincy win against Miguel.
(Watch with sound. Credit to another Robby fan who pointed this out to me and created this video.)
"A leitmotif is a repeating melodic phrase in music that is used to represent a character, setting, emotion, or theme. The intentional use of music as a means of communicating character, tone, or theme is a leitmotif." "The leitmotif has proven particularly effective in film scores as a means of creating continuity, heightening the drama and building an emotional connection between characters and the audience.
The fact that the leitmotif for Daniel's (first) win against his bully in kk1 is used for Robby's (first) win against his bully blatantly indicates that Robby is the underdog and Karate Kid of this story. This is more evidence that Robby is the Daniel in this kk story and Miguel is the Johnny.
It's important to note that when Miguel won the s1 avt final against Robby, no leitmotif was played when he won the match and was handed the trophy. Right before his win, an ominous motif was played, indicating that the win wasn't good. After he's handed the trophy and asked to speak, the shot slowly zoom's in on Johnny and starts playing his leitmotif in Cobra Kai (called Father and Son), because his focus was on Robby and his loss. This "win" for Johnny was a major loss in their relationship. In the s4 avt final, a triumphant motif was used for Eli's win, while a more melancholy one was used for Tory's win / Sam's loss.
No kid who has won a trophy so far had gotten the kk1 leitmotif for Daniel's win until Robby did in s6e5.
During the tournament in s1e10, Daniel approached Robby in the locker room and spoke to him about the "need" to find balance:
Tumblr media
Robby: "I just wanted to get back at him [Johnny]." Daniel: "I know. But you're never going to find balance that way. You can't let that bad blood change who you are. I'm not saying you need to like the guy. I know I never will, but he... he is your father. And believe me, you're lucky to have one. You just gotta try to remember, he's... he's not a monster. He's just a guy with a lot of demons. Mr. Miyagi always told me there's no such thing as a bad student, only a bad teacher. And your dad had the worst teacher there ever was. It sent him down a wrong path. But you don't have to go down that path. Do you understand? You don't have to ever become him. Trust me. You let go of all that anger, and I guarantee you, no matter what happens tonight, you go home feeling great."
In kk1 tournament, during his conversation with Miyagi in the locker room, Daniel talked about his need to find balance.
Tumblr media
Daniel: "Can you fix my leg with that thing you do?" Miyagi: "No need fight anymore. You proved a point." Daniel: "What? That I can take a beating? Every time I see those guys, they'll know they got the best of me. I'll never have balance that way, not with them, not with Ali... ...not with me."
Both Daniel and Robby are injured in these scene because a Cobra Kai had injured each of them during their semi-final fight and got disqualified for it. Both Daniel and Robby were then automatically given the semi-final win and were supposed to fight their bully, the main Cobra, in the final. (In my Robby is the underdog - Part 1.5 post, I go over some more of parallels between s1 Robby and kk1 Daniel in their respective avts and that Miguel had already been set up as the bully and Robby as the underdog going into the tournament.)
Both of their mentors had also told them that they didn't have to continue the tournament but both of them insisted that they wanted to. Daniel said what I've quoted above. Robby said, "Yes, I do. I'm going to have to face him sooner or later. Might as well be today."
Miyagi's original lesson to Daniel about balance was this:
"Better learn balance. Balance is key. Balance good, karate good. Everything good. Balance bad, better pack up, go home. Understand?"
In s6e5, Robby was losing the match, until he found balance when Tory arrived.
Tumblr media
During the tournament in kk1, when Daniel was fighting to win a spot in the semis, Miyagi told Daniel: "Remember your defense. Points coming. Concentrate. Focus power. Remember balance. Make good fight."
During Robby's final match in the s1 avt, Daniel told Robby, "Breathe. Focus. Find your balance."
In his captaincy match, Robby was fighting offensively until he found balance, then he switched to mainly defense and won.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, in the s4 avt, Daniel had at first told Eli something similar to what Miyagi had told Daniel in the kk1 tournament: "Concentrate, defense, focus, power. You find your balance, and those points will come."
However, after Eli told Daniel that Robby knows Miyagi-do better and Robby had scored one point on Eli, Daniel told Eli to fight using Cobra Kai and to put Robby on defense. This means that Robby was relying more on Miyagi-Do to fight, while Eli was relying more on Cobra Kai and won the tournament primarily using Cobra Kai teachings, despite representing Miyagi-Do. Eli didn't rely on having balance to win. He won by channeling his anger into fighting. It wasn't a real/pure Miyagi-Do victory.
Daniel had given up on Miyagi's teachings pretty quickly in order to secure the win in the s4 avt. Robby in turn still believes in and follows those teachings. In fact, his balance was off during his match with Eli because Robby had adopted "no mercy" while fighting Kenny and that had affected Robby greatly especially when he saw Kenny and had the realization that Cobra Kai wasn't helping him with his need to find balance.
In his captaincy match, he still relied on those Miyagi-Do lessons and teachings about balance. After he was able to find balance, he won the captaincy match primarily using Miyagi-Do. His win secured him the spot as the male captain, representative, and potential champion for Miyagi-Do in the final tournament in the series. His win was also celebrated using the OG Karate Kid leitmotif for winning by finding balance.
The overall theme of the series is about finding balance not just in karate, but in life as well.
“You remember lesson about balance? Lesson not just karate only. Lesson for whole life. Whole life have a balance. Everything be better. Understand?”
In my post Robby is the protagonist, I describe the role the protagonist plays in the story. One signifier of the protagonist is that the theme of the story is told primarily through their story:
The protagonist in a story is the character who offers the most conflict in situations, has the longest emotional journey, and has a primal goal to root for. Their transformation shapes the story's theme. Their choices and motivations affect the direction of the story. They're at the center of the conflict and their decisions push the plot forward. In a story with multiple characters with journeys, there is ultimately one character who is the primary driver of the overall story and their story tells the theme of the overall story. The other characters' can be protagonists in their own journeys but these become subplots of varying levels of importance. The protagonist is the character whose fate matters most. They have the highest stakes and the greatest obstacles.
Everything about the above statement is captured by Robby's story in s6e5:
He offered conflict by resisting Miguel trying to gaslight him about his greater need to win.
His issues with balance have been ongoing since s1, "the longest emotional journey":
"You may know the moves, but none of that matters unless you have balance.... I didn't mean balancing your body. I mean balancing your life. Look, Robby. I know it's hard growing up without a dad, believe me. Mine died when I was young, so I know. But when those bad feelings all weigh you down, you gotta... you gotta search inside for the good stuff, you know, and just... Because then you can find some balance in your life. Understand. It's not easy, but you'll do it."
He has primal goals to root for. He has to find balance in life. He also doesn't believe in his future but has to make a future for himself by knowing who he is and believing in himself and his future:
"Well, you are the tree, Robby. You've got strong roots. You know who you are, right? So now all you've gotta do is visualize what you want your future to look like, and then you make it happen." He also needs to find balance.
Robby's the only character that actively tries to grow and find balance, the theme of the story. Finding balance is emphasized for his story specifically, though other character's stories touch on the theme to different extents.
Robby's choices and motivations really do affect the plot. For example, Robby could have given into Miguel's claim that he deserves the win more, but Robby didn't. Robby stood up for himself and his future for the first time since he stopped doing so in s5e5. Robby didn't back down after that.
At the end of s6e5, although others in Miyagi-Do care about Tory, Robby is the one most connected to Tory and is the most affected by her rejoining Cobra Kai. That is, he is still most central in his connections to both sides in the dojo war.
Robby's fate has been set up to matter most. Robby issues with balance will greatly affect his ability to fight and lead. He has the highest stakes and the greatest obstacles during this tournament. (Though, Sam is also a captain, she won the spot by default, isn't an underdog the story, and balance is mentioned but is not a focus in her story and doesn't affect her karate.) Interestingly, even most Miguel fans are wondering about what will happen to Robby, though they viciously want him to get injured so that Miguel can take over and win.
Robby's story in Cobra Kai, like Daniel's in kk1, is about finding balance. Daniel's issues with balance in kk1 were centered around his issues with Johnny bullying him, how that made Daniel feel, and the trauma it caused. Robby's issues with balance are also centered around his issues with Johnny's behavior towards him, how it makes him feel, and the trauma it causes him. This parallel of kk1 Daniel's issues with balance being about Johnny and Robby's issues with balance being about Johnny is an interesting one.
The stark contrast in their stories is that Daniel had the support of his loved ones including his mentor in his kk1 match, whereas Robby doesn't have the support of his loved ones and his mentor. Johnny, Sam, and Daniel specifically have been on Miguel's side for some time. They all were on Miguel's side during the captaincy match. (Daniel did seem concerned about Miguel after this loss and not that enthused by Robby's win.) Everyone siding with his bully plays a significant role in Robby's issues with balance. Johnny, especially, choosing Miguel over Robby while neglecting and abusing Robby has played the biggest role in Robby's traumas and issues with balance. Tory was his only support during the captaincy match. However, going into the ST, Tory is no longer on/by his side too. Robby is indeed all alone going into this tournament.
Overall, this story is told from the pov of the bullies, Johnny and Miguel, who are unreliable narrators. Right now, all the "good guy" characters have been on the sides of Robby's bullies. They each frame themselves as the good guy. In s6e2, Robby explicitly called out Miguel for framing Robby as the bad guy. Overall, there is so much evidence throughout the story that Robby is the protagonist, underdog, and Karate Kid narratively and thematically in this story.
(This post is part of my Robby is the underdog post series and is also titled "Finding balance - Part 4".)

Yk it's not actually a surprise Daniel decided to forgive Chozen, Mike and Johnny (? but when he heard Terry's apology he reacted like "No, that's bullshit, I'm not going to forgive you, bye".
I mean, it's not that he "knows how to hold a grudge" (like Kreese said in 4.05). He was traumatized as a kid because of them (Kreese and Silver). Daniel really thought Kreese was sorry for hurting him when Silver met him in 1985. He really thought Silver was his friend. He really thought Cobra Kai was going to get better. But no. It's wasn't like that. It was all lies. They made him feel like the Cobra Kai-Miyagi Do's rivalry was over, and they stabbed him in the back. He trusted in Silver, in Silver's words about Kreese, and he discovered everything was a plan. They were only manipulating him. They played with his mind and made him believe they were in his side, and after that, after he discovered the truth, they almost caused him a panic attack in the tournament (and don't tell me he wasn't going to have one, if Mr. Miyagi hadn't been there, he would have had it).
I don't know, but it's kind of logical that he doesn't believe Silver is truly apologizing. He doesn't want to believe in his "kind" words again and be hurt once more (or be more traumatized). Are Kreese and Silver so blind that they don't realize that? They really don't realize how much they traumatized a kid for a freaking tournament? They really don't realize Daniel doesn't want to believe in their words because they already lied to him when he was a teenager?
Daniel forgave Johnny, Chozen and Mike because their apologies/actions were real. Because they were truly sorry for their past actions. And they didn't act like "good guys" towards him. They acted like bad guys since the beginning, at that's why he is capable of accepting their apologies. They didn't lie to him or tried to act as their friend only to stab him in the back, and that changed everything.

Johnny Lawrence is a character that is always pushed down. Him being physically stronger than Daniel doesn't help his mind being constantly challenged. He enters the Karate Kid with his mind strong, with the will to make it better, to make it work. Yeah he beats up Daniel a lot and worse than excusable, but he just wanted to talk to Ali and Ali is pretty mean to him, promising she will talk but then just plays the music again... Daniel sucker punches him first. Daniel humiliates him at the Halloween party and yeah, they beat Daniel up but Mr. Miyagi.. an adult.. breaking a teenager's arm? (Tommy) instead of acting like an adult and de-escalate the situation? Well..
While Daniel is provoking Johnny constantly, Johnny leaves Daniel alone until the tournament, where he again, gets manipulated, humiliated, loses his father figure, gets robbed of his chance to win fairly, still has the courage to get up and give Daniel the trophy, saying he's alright which is an apology, I don't care what other people say. Then outside him getting beaten and humiliated continues with Kreese almost killing him for ending up second place.
And in Cobra Kai it continues... I mean it's also funny and entertaining but it also hurts me to think about how often Johnny is forced to take charity from Daniel, how he can't stop drinking, how everything is always his fault, how he just feels worth of Carmen's affection after performing miracles for her, how he wanted Ali but Amanda says hahah not on my watch, remember Carmen and he's like oh yeah... right then I must love Carmen, I figured it out! (But it was Amanda actually... lol)
I was just watching season 1 again and especially that scene where Johnny is literally on the ground to get his beer and Daniel shows off his dominance because he has the money, it hurts. I wish we had seen Johnny not taking the beer because Daniel paid it or something. Just walking out. Let the man have some dignity!! (I could go on forever I really feel like it got worse in the show to the point where his whole purpose is to fulfill Carmen's dreams but I am rewatching atm and see if I just made it worse in my head, I at least was able to enjoy season 1 again and thats a personal win since I wasn't able to rewatch after s5)
Johnny paying back Sid and finally cut him out of his life is so satisfying to watch, I'm so glad they did that.
I know he has some wins too like I feel equally sad for Daniel when Cobra Kai overpowers his Miyagi-Do presentation and Daniel was so excited for it.. I love watching them get back at each other and all just some nuances leave a bad taste in my mouth when I'm overthinking it.
I love Johnny so much.. He is my comfort character and thinking about all of this hurts me physically. So I try not to. A lot of this in Cobra Kai was done for comic relief and gave us hilarious moments and if I don't think too much about it I can enjoy them all but I, personally, will never enjoy content where Johnny is portrayed as weaker as Daniel or submissive to Daniel or anyone else. (Which doesn't mean he can't have weak moments and Daniel be the one comforting him, that is sth different and I love that!) (I don't enjoy Daniel being 'babygirled' either but that's a different story, lol)
Just some thoughts I needed to get out of my system with my sunday morning coffee =)

On the one hand I'm happy Daniel finally got a pool with water in it, on the other hand LA is like in a constant drought.
The kids are having croissants, omelettes and fruit for breakfast, which is very cute.
Espresso clink is my favorite
How long do you think it took between episode 1 and 2? Not like in filming but in actual canon? Because:
Tumblr media
That's a sign, and window decor. And Johnny's on a super tight budget. So did he just hand paint/stencil that all himself? Who made his sign so fast? I mean half the time signs take forever to go up. Also kebab places signage is totally different.
Miggy in his LA dodgers jersey is giving Daniel in his Halloween day outfit. It weirdly doesn't have a number. I don't know sports, don't they usually have a number?
The amount of interior work Johnny did is huge. Like he put mirrors up? The mats are down. His little silhouette karate guys are all over the walls.
Every time I see that box of trophies they're going to multiply. Now I see 5.
I think...despite everything his stencils were crooked:
Tumblr media
Maybe it's the camera angle.
Do you think Daniel and Mr. Miyagi had to fill out all that paperwork for insurance and certification before they opened out Mr. Miyagi's little trees? I suppose we never actually saw it open officially, just the set up, and they actually got a lease from a realtor, not a handshake with a dude outside of a strip mall.
Daniel spent his summers playing in a broken fire hydrant next to his Aunt Tessie's.
Do you think Daniel picked out Encino Oaks on purpose since he'd been there once? (It is supposed to be the same country club right?)
Amanda and Daniel like Dirty Martini's ice ice cold.
Aisha drives her father (Isaiah's) Q5
The summer party they're at they go to every year, so it's annual event with magicians and clowns.
Junior year Johnny didn't lose a single point in the All-Valley.
Miguel tells his mom he's on the debate team
Johnny recommends Guns 'n Roses and while doesn't seem to own a phone or know what one is does know what a ring tone is.
Kyler still has a bruise on his left eye from fighting Johnny, which makes me think not a ton of time has passed between episodes, and Johnny spent a lot of time decorating.
So Daniel drives an Audi but I guess they also have a big silver van, that he also drives.
Moon has a 'channel', I guess youtube channel? I wonder since it was originally a youtube red if they could've done a silly little spin off channel with extras and content.
One thing I've noticed, I don't think Daniel and Amanda have a lot of kitchen storage space, i.e. cabinets and what not. Thus:
Tumblr media
All the pots and pans and tools are hanging on the wall. The amount of noise that must make.
So Sam's in trouble for throwing a party, but it kind of looks like Daniel cleaned up the whole thing by himself. That's a weird parenting choice.
Newspaper clippings that Daniel framed include: "Mystery Dojo with Single Student Defangs Cobras" with a photo of Daniel and Mr. Miyagi and the other says "Local Valley Champ Defends Title Against Karate's Bad Boy" Which has Daniel versus I guess Mike on at the tournament.
It's interesting that the flashback lesson they show is of Daniel teaching Sam how to break boards. Since that's arguably the worst lesson he ever got from Terry Silver and not something he probably learned from Mr. Miyagi. It is thankfully something a whole lot easier than =what Daniel was doing in TKK3.
"Never give up your defense, beware the spinning hug move" is just so adorable.
Yasmine was driving a Range Rover that hit Johnny's car. And the fact her dad just bought her a new car...
I dunno, I don't think Daniel particularly over reacted to a bunch of strangers in his house and wearing his clothes and also Sam telling him she wasn't expecting him back so early and then he was the one to clean up and she's just sitting talking to her friends.
LaRusso Friday family dinners is cute.
I also like that they talk about the boys she texting.
Daniel tells Sam she's 'Jersey tough'...but she's born and raised Californian.
This school lunch is pringles, a banana, a hostess cupcakes, Organic chocolate milk and what looks like maybe a cheeseburger?
Tumblr media
Look at these babies (affectionate) and their yoohoo. They've also been given two trays and a plastic sporks. What is this school? Clearly you get some options because both of them got fruit cups (different types) and the main course differs since Elis got something else. I guess you also get to choose between pudding cups and hostess cupcakes? I did not get this many options in school. Also like most of the other kids who brought their lunch just have brown paper bags.
Sorry lots about the food but why would Miguel be offered organic Valley chocolate milk and these everyone in the above shot has yoohoo? Why are there that many chocolate milk options?
So...the popular girls drink apple juice from juicy juice and the nerds drink different brands of chocolate milk? Because literally everyone's drink choice is by table. Lol even Kyler has the same apple juice when he sits with them. What's with that?
Karate lesson one "cobra strike" which seems to be a lunge and the "bite" a punch to the nose, mouth or neck. Kudos to Johnny for getting an actual punching dummy.
I feel like this is the first little kernel of Johnny's 'some mercy' when he looks at Miguel after this example and goes 'uh for only extreme situations' rather than go for the throat.
Johnny did not correct Migue's hands. His thumbs are sticking out.
Robby goes to North Hills High and the vp is Carla Jenkins and Robby has molly on him.
It's kind of funny that Johnny doesn't know what that is, but also makes sense seeing as he rolled the tiniest joint on the planet for the first film.
Like Johnny Robby wears band t-shirts, specifically Misfits.
So plot issue. Small one. Johnny is literally only a few feet away when he's taking this phone call where he says he's this kids dad and yet a big sticking point later is that Miguel doesn't know Johnny has a kid.
Daniel being such a sweet infodumping foodie nerd with his fancy yanagi knife. He made: sashimi he calls "Larusso ponzo toro" which uhhhh is like the fanciest sashimi ever. Omg I didn't realize this is what he tried to feed Kyler before. This is like....wagyu. It's extremely expensive bluefin tuna. Holy moly Daniel what the hell? No wonder Sam and Amanda look so excited. That makes making it for Kyler who doesn't like sushi/fish so much more of an oof, that was such an expensive purchase.
Tumblr media
Is that the pickled ginger and wasabi?! They're huge! Daniel for the size of fish you got that's ridiculous. You gotta realize that's ridiculous right bud? Also is that just a bowl of soy sauce? Like a whole bowl?
Daniel didn't like sushi as a teen. (Then why the heck would you buy the rolls royce of fish for a teenage guy you don't know anything about other than your daughter is texting him????)
All these teenagers lying really get Johnny in even more trouble than he already is in.
Uh...so Miguel lives in what apartment 109 and Johnny lives in apartment 2. How does that make sense?
Johnny wrote down that the karate dojo is for teaching karate to anyone who wants to learn karate which is very...him since he doesn't kick anyone out and keeps Stingray.
Dojo is at 6 Herons Nest Reseda meanwhile his apartment is 7428 Saticoy street Reseda. Dude writes in big blocky all capitalized letters for everything which, thanks, easier to read.
So what is the idea here? Daniel leaves his fancy toro behind to go confront whoever owns the cobra kai studio? Is he expecting Johnny or is he expecting Kreese or heck even Silver? Did Kyler tell him any thing else? Did Daniel stay through finding Kyler some fish sticks or something?
They may have been awful Johnny but they were still teenagers.
Daniel is surprised someone is calling Johnny sensei. Like what are you expecting this place to be Daniel? A place without students? A museum? You thought Johnny just moved into a strip mall and decorated it like a dojo because that's gotta be what his house would look like? Or again, did he think someone else was the sensei and Johnny just happened to be around?

"I'm   proud   of   you,   Robby.   Life   wasn't   easy   for   you   and   I   know   I   had   my   own   part   in   some   moments   but.   .   .you   are   a   good   kid."   Misguided   at   times,   perhaps,   or   just   suffering.   Suffering   kids   who   have   the   weight   of   the   world   on   their   shoulders   turn   into   angry   teenagers.   He   had   been   one   at   one   point,   he   remembers   it   all   too   well.   And   when   he   sees   Robby,   he   sometimes   sees   himself.   He   sees   Johnny   too,   and   the   kid   who   couldn't   stop   when   asked   to.
Somehow   Robby   had   risen   above   both   of   them   in   that   and   in   turn,   had   become   the   best   of   both   worlds,   and   seeing   him   in   Miyagi   Do's   gi   gives   him   a   sense   of   pride.   He   wants   to   believe   Mr.   Miyagi   would   be   proud   too,   had   he   known   Robby.   "I   would   do   it   again.   And   I   do   mean   it.   I   know   college   is   not   that   far   away.   .   .it's   a   big   step."   Daniel   himself   didn't   went   to   one,   spent   all   his   money   on   the   bonsai   tree   store   and   then   had   the   lucky   strike   of   getting   odd   jobs   until   he   landed   on   a   dealership   and   from   there   to   build   himself.   Brown   eyes   look   down,   knowing   Robby   has   it   a   bit   more   complicated   due   to   his   record   in   juvie.   "Got   any   plans   so   far?   After   the   tournament   is   over   and   all."
They both know better. No one offered him a meal, much less invited him to stay with them indefinitely. There have been times when Robby blamed him and his dad for where he was in life and for everything that happened to him, but he couldn't keep blaming other people for his mistakes. He also knows his life would've been much worse had he never gone to LaRusso Auto that day. His sensei had given him a purpose in life and a reason to stop with the illegal schemes. He probably wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for him, much less the man he was now.
"I appreciate that." He trusts that his mom is better now, but he knows addiction is a disease and that she could fall off the wagon again. It helps that he knows he's not out on his own if that happens, even if he's turning eighteen soon and should be looking into getting a place of his own. "I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me, Sensei."

I really do want Robby to win the world tournament next season. While I personally am more concerned about his personal life right now, I do still really want him to have a karate win too. Robby is the only one now who has not won a single tournament despite being stated as being the best out of all the teens. We have literally seen Robby do things that only Mr Miyagi was ever able to do. And he did it with no instruction and only after hearing about it once. Daniel himself said that karate came more naturally to Robby than it did to him. This came from the OG karate kid himself. Yet Robby lost the first avt bc both his opponents fought dishonorably. He threw the second one after Daniel got in his head and he felt guilty for what happened with Kenny even though it wasn't his fault. This season he was basically been everyone's hype man and was pushed to the side by everyone. He deserves a win more than anyone.
Its not just Robby either. Tanner is the most talented and experienced out of all the young cast. His cast mates and even professionals have said this multiple times. We even know that he's able to do a lot of his own stunts. That part where he uses the wall to kick up and get out of Shawn's grip during that juvie fight was Tanner's idea. It shows quick thinking on Robby's part too. Right as he's about to get his head smashed into a wall while in a headlock, he's able to think up a way to get out of it by literally climbing the wall. That's not even the only time we see Robby show just how quick-witted he is. I also know that Tanner really wants Robby to win and considering just how much work and heart that Tanner puts into Robby, he deserves to have Robby win.
I can understand why people were upset when Ralph said that Robby could be a sensei at the next avt but the way I see it, it just highlights how talented Robby is. It shows that he's already at a level where he can be a sensei. He practically was one in season 4 where he taught an entire dojo of students Miyagi-Do. That too after having beaten them all with none of them being able to land a single hit on him. Even Tory was only able to land one when she kicked him in the face after he let his guard down to help her up. So if anybody deserves a win before this show ends, it's Robby

ok the reason i think silver is such a good villain isnt because of his cartoon-evil cheesiness or his character theme (although those certainly do contribute to it). the reason i think hes so good is what his presence means for daniel's character. throughout the tkk movies (and you can see it continue in ck) there's this really heavy importance put into the lessons that the students learn from their teachers. you see it with mr miyagi and daniel, you see it with kreese and johnny, you see it with sato and chozen. in the latter two cases, you can see the negative light of this, how a teacher with an inherently bad philosophy can carry over to how their student acts. kreese teaches johnny to be unforgiving and merciless so that's what johnny ends up being. sato is fueled by his anger at mr miyagi even years later and thus chozen is an all-around angry little dude that wants to kill daniel.
but in tkk3 you do not get a two-part villain dynamic like this! instead it's daniel who learns under a bad teacher and is taught all the wrong lessons from them. i think this theme is particularly hardlined by the fact that silver deliberately tries to separate daniel and mr miyagi so that he can become a presence in daniel's life. "there's no such thing as a bad student, only a bad teacher" is something that daniel hasnt experienced at all up until silver takes mr miyagi's place. and this sets up a really interesting internal conflict for daniel that you dont see in the previous movies. you have his inherent kindness + what he's learned from mr miyagi vs the conflicting things he's currently learning from silver. and it causes him to doubt/be frustrated with himself as he isolates himself more and more; he doesnt know whats right anymore, he's angry at himself for how he doesnt know, and thus a part of him doesn't trust himself to be around the people he cares about .
essentially: in tkk3, daniel isn't fighting against a fellow karate student that might have turned out different if they had a better/more forgiving teacher. barnes has always been like that™ from the beginning, even without silver hiring him. daniel's main battle in the movie is with himself, because he is the one that takes the role that was filled by chozen in tkk2 and johnny in tkk1 before that. and it's actually kinda heartbreaking to see bc, again, daniel is a really nice kid and he's unknowingly being manipulated into becoming someone he's not, and he has to struggle to find the person he is again through the midst of all of this .
i think from the beginning the entire reason silver wanted to train daniel wasn't just so that he could separate him from mr miyagi or cause daniel to hurt himself or even teach him to be more like him. it was mainly to construct the internal conflict that i talked about earlier. he knows that his and miyagi's philosophies are fundamentally incompatible and that daniel doesn't really want to hurt anyone. so when daniel takes enough of silver's training to heart to punch a dude in the nose, silver is ecstatic—not because daniel took out his rage on someone, but because of the meltdown that daniel has afterwards. it's why when daniel confronts him about it silver has no qualms about revealing that he's the one that hired barnes and that surprise daniel its been me thats been ruining your life all along. because that part of his plan is essentially done. he has already caused the big emotional damage and from there on out its only a matter of "beat the shit out of this child at the karate tournament". yeah his intentions are kinda weird and muddled (thank you to ck for clearing it up and saying he was high on cocaine the entire time) but you cant deny that his character does a LOT for daniel's arc in this movie .
also kinda unrelated but. love how daniel ends up following silver in the first place primarily bc he got manipulated into thinking "mr miyagi will get hurt if i don't do this/i'm not strong enough to defend him against barnes". it makes me feel feelings and emotions. like daniel just loves his karate dad so much he'll give up being his student if it means his stupid dream tree business can succeed. daniel my son /affectionate. im about to fall over and die

"SURE,  THE  TOURNAMENT  IS  IMPORTANT."  There  is  a  short  pause  as  he  places  a  hand  to  his  own  knee,  still  aches  from  the  echoes  of  one  fight  back  in  1984,  just  because  he  wasn't  careful  in  the  recovery.  "But  trust  me  when  I  tell  you  if  you  don't  take  care  of  yourself  now,  you  will  be  suffering  the  consequences  years  down  the  road."  Perhaps  no  one  has  ever  told  her  what  he  is  trying  to  say  here.  Not  at  loud  at  least.  "Your  health  is  more  important  to  us  than  any  trophy."  But  he  also  gets  it.
He  told  Mr.  Miyagi  he  could  continue  in  the  tournament  when  his  knee  was  badly  injured.  So  Daniel  listens  in,  taking  in  the  doubt  that  sounds  all  too  familiar  for  the  now  sensei.  "Well,  you  will  never  know  if  you  don't  try.  I  think  you  can  do  anything  you  want  to  do,  Tory.  And  I'm  not  telling  you  this  because  I  have  to.  I  have  seen  you  at  your  worst.  And  your  best.  Though  I  think  that  is  yet  to  come."  Always  achieve  your  best  self.  And  he  can  be  there  to  help  and  guide,  but  eventually,  it's  her  choice.  "I  have  faith  in  you.  So,  you  should  have  some  faith  in  yourself."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ㅤㅤㅤBUT SHE HAS TO. There's no way she can stop now, even if they're all supposed to be on a break. Tory already lost time having to wait for her hand to recover. All those weeks spent doing nothing has made her restless, and every mistake comes with an ounce of doubt. Recovery takes time, yeah, but what if she was never as good as she thought she was? It's not like she has the trophy to prove otherwise. Not anymore. Tory can still hear Kim Da-Eun's taunting in her head. Telling her that she was too soft. Weak. That she never had it in her to be a champion in the first place. ( What if she doesn't ? ) ❝ I don't like taking too much time off. Not when the Sekai Taikai is coming up, and I still have some catching up to do. ❞ There's a grimace, a pause in her motions as a frown melts across her lips. ❝ Maybe I'm just kidding myself here. I'm never going to be ready for it. ❞

The prompt about what would various CK characters think of Terry's beloved...I adored how you wrote that Mr. Miyagi would achieve closure and a sense of forgiveness through knowing Terry is loved. That was so beautiful. Seems perfectly in-character and in touch with the spirit of what TKK originally always stood for...something that CK forgot along the way. Can you perhaps write a tiny yet effective one shot about it?
Slowing down in front of the steps of the courthouse in the 1942 Chevrolet pickup truck, he stops the man he was searching for, from across two colossal conjoint traffic lanes separated by a crowd, onlookers, the police and a gathered group of bodyguards. A new batch of Bonsai planting pots secured and stacked atop of each other on the backseat, Nariyoshi Miyagi observes the public exchange. Hair slicked back and always in a fine suit, the tallest out of all the people gathered there, easy to pick out even from afar, from the other end of the boulevard --- he read about Terry Silver's September court hearing, yet he said nothing to Daniel-San after the tournament finally ended as well as it could've, hiding the occasional magazines, finding clever ways to conceal what needed to be concealed. Best not upset him. Open old wounds that are better forgotten and left to heal, faded through the slow passage of time. He stayed vigilant instead of his student, though. Kept up to date on periodicals. The occasional television broadcast. Nothing wrong with that. With knowing. He supposes he took this route today deliberately on the way back from picking up necessities for his trees. Wanted to witness it for himself. Not to gloat. Just to see. He observes nothing of interest as Mr. Silver's private entourage, as immaculately suited up as he himself was, pushes away protestors. He observes nothing. Only one reaping what they sow. He almost feels pity for the man.
There's a second someone there, giving Mr. Silver an embrace.
That's when his observational interest returns.
The embrace is reciprocated at the shadow of a parked, tinted Jeep, and the sneering, scoffing demon from the tournament buries his neck into the crook of the companion's neck in a brief moment of unexpected tenderness, causing one Nariyoshi Miyagi to ease into the leather seat of his car and watch with a sense of carefulness and renewed curiosity. Grimness. A brief kiss of comfort, caught by the flashing camera of photographers, Mr. Silver's hand shielding the body of his companion from harm as they scoot away, into their own mode of transport, an arm, extended over their head shielding them as they safely scuffle through the entrance. He waits until they're driven away by their chauffeur through the crowd right before he turns the key in the ignition himself. He thinks of Yukie on instinct then. He thinks of his wife. His child. Love is a way for life to renew itself, it is said. Sometimes, a dog isn't feral or bad, it simply wasn't domesticated and cared for enough. Nariyoshi Miyagi ceases following up on news concerning Mr. Silver's whereabouts after that, discarding all the newspaper articles he's collect when Daniel-San isn't prone to seeing. He figures this story has reached an ending. The last thing he throws away is the page of a periodical containing the photograph of he courthouse kiss, blurry, faded. He bought the issue as it came out. He holds the image, in his hands, packaging it neatly for the collectors to take away in the morning. Once they do, he thanks them kindly and watches after their truck.
Nature doesn't hurry, yet everything is achieved.

1984....
You and your family have just moved to California, now living in a small apartment complex where you and your brother are sharing a room, which was really a pain in the ass. Especially since Daniel didn't really seem keen on keeping his side tidy, it was annoying really. But you couldn't change it, no matter how bad you wanted to. But you could get out of the apartment for a while...
That's how you found yourself now, exploring the new territory with excitement. You've done been everywhere you'd thought, until you found the beach, that's where you were now. Barefoot as you walk on the beach, watching the ocean with a relaxed gaze.
Until a something hit you on the forehead, making you fall on your back with a yelp, pain instantly taking over your head. You had your eyes squeezed shut, a groan emitting from you.
"shit I think you knocked her out Johnny!" someone laughs, but you didn't care to open your eye's to see who.
"shut up asshole!" someone else says, that's when you felt someone crouched down beside you, hands gently grasping at your shoulders and giving you a gentle shake. Hand carefully pushing hair away from your now hurt forehead.
"hey, you alright?" the same voice said, you crack your eyes open and see two beautiful blue ones looking back at you with concern, his blond hair falling in front of his beautiful eyes as you feel the air being knocked from your lungs, heart skipping a beat as butterflies erupted in your belly.
This stranger was by far the most hottest stranger you've ever seen. He was handsome, beautiful, gorgeous.
"shit, can you hear me?" he asks, his voice bringing you out of your trance.
"y - yeah I'm fine - I'm okay" you stuttered out, trying to sit up, the handsome stranger helping you do so. "what the hell even happened?" you ask, watching how he let's a little smile sneak its way on his face.
"I threw my friends shoe away from him and it uh... Hit you in the face...he really hates sand..." he said trying not to laugh. You giggle a little, giving him a little grin.
"I'll have to admit, it's a little funny... But please watch where you throw stuff next time" you say with a chuckle.
"I can't make any promises sweetheart" he said, giving you a wink. You blushed, hating how handsome this man really was. His wink sending your heart into overdrive. "I'm Johnny Lawrence by the way" he stands up and offers you his hand. Which you gladly take, him helping you stand up.
"I'm y/n larusso, nice to meet you" you say rubbing at the sore spot on your forehead. Johnny looks guilty for a moment before his friends start shouting for him.
"to make it up to you for almost knocking you out, how about me and you go see a movie sometime, my treat?" he questioned, and even though you just got hit in the head you felt like you just won the lottery.
"that sounds nice, how about Friday?" you ask with a smile. Johnny gives you a smile as he stuffs his hands in his pockets, walking backwards and back to his friends.
"Friday it is" he confirmed, he set up the time and place and you felt yourself counting down the days until then.
Who would have thought being hit in the face with a shoe would have scored you a date with a handsome man?
Who would've thought that, that date would have brought you and Johnny closer, the outcome of being hit in the face making a beautiful relationship bloom. After that one movie date with Johnny there was more than one. One night you both went rollerskating another night you went mini gulfing. And after almost two weeks of dating Johnny had snuck you both into the local pool for a midnight swim. That was the night you first kissed, a night you would always remember.
You've been dating for a year, You fell so helplessly in love with him, he was sweet, loving, kind and even a gentleman. But you was the only one who saw that side of him. The only one who saw Johnny for who he really was. Everyone else saw him for his reputation, being a bully, a badass cobra Kai. They looked past his soft side that only you brought out, and looked straight at his tough guy attitude.
And even though he could be bit of an asshole and bully - especially with your brother. He wasn't really a bad guy. But you knew Daniel wouldn't agree with your relationship with Johnny, so you dated in secret. Always having dates when everyone in your house was asleep, hiding whenever you share kisses at school. Fleeting touches shared secretly, lingering gazes hidden.
But it was worth it, Johnny was worth it. And even though you knew Johnny and Daniel hated each other, you couldn't stay away from Johnny. You loved him. And the mere thought of leaving him hurt. So instead of choosing who you kept in your life, you tried keeping both. Because you knew if it ever came down to it Daniel wouldn't ever speak to you if he found out you and Johnny was a thing, that thought was painful considering you and Daniel was like twins, although he was a year older. And if Johnny knew Daniel wasn't speaking to you just because you two was dating, he'd make you runaway with him where you both could be together without someone trying to tear you apart.
You sigh at your wandering thoughts and live in the moment, that being seated in the sand, watching the ocean with Johnny's arm around you, holding you close against him you wearing his red jacket because the night wind was chilly. You've been sitting there for hours, listening to music on the boom box he brought. Talking and perhaps maybe making out.
It was nearing 2am when Johnny stood up, bringing you with him as he cups your cheek in hand and holds your hip in the other.
"we should probably get you home before you're family realize that you are gone" he muttered, face closer to yours. You smile and peck his lips before running off toward his bike. Hopping on the back and waiting for him you give him a grin.
"you better hurry slow poke!" you say, watching him run toward you with a laugh, the happiness on his face enough to cause your heart to swell.
Once he makes it to you he gives you a smirk, one hand resting on the handle bares of the bike while the other is resting on the seat behind you. He leans his face closer to yours.
"you're a tease y/n" he said, capturing your lips with his, the kiss deep and slow. His lips moving against yours perfectly. You pull away from the kiss and give him a cheeky smile.
"c'mon hot shot let's get going before Daniel wakes up for his usual kitchen raid" you joke making Johnny laugh. Hopping on the bike and listening to it roar to life. You wrapped your arms around Johnny's middle, holding him tight.
He then zooms down the road, wind blowing through your hair. You hold onto Johnny tightly, making him feel as if he was on top of the world. It didn't take long for him to slow down, before shutting the bike off. You was home, the apartment complex quiet all the lights off. You hop of the bike as Johnny stayed seated, watching you shrug off his jacket and handing it to him.
"I wish you could wear it all the time, it looks good on you" he said, taking it and putting it on.
"I think it looks pretty good on you Johnny" you replied back with a grin. He rolls his eyes and chuckles.
"you better get inside before Daniel or you're mom wakes up, my bike isn't exactly quiet" he points out causing you to sigh. "goodnight y/n"
"goodnight Johnny..." you lean in to give him one last kiss, him being the tease he is nibbles at your bottom lip. You giggle into the kiss and pull back reluctantly, Johnny smirking at you.
"I'll see you at school, bye babe" he starts up the bike as you back away slowly with a wave.
"bye Johnny, love you!" you say slightly loud over the noisy bike.
"love you too!" you watch how he gives you a wink before zooming down the road, disappearing from your sight. You sigh dreamily and head inside.
Completely oblivious to the watching eye's in your home.
You slip inside your bedroom and close the door quietly, slowly crawling in bed. As you laid down the light turns on making you jump up startled. Daniel gives you a look of disappointment. Making you instantly know that he knew.
"y'know I didn't believe Mr Miyagi when he told me that he saw you hanging around with Johnny but know I feel like a fool for not" he said, the disappointment Clear in his voice.
You sigh and hold your head in your hands. This was going to be a disaster...
"i was going to tell you -
"that's a lie" he scoffs, shaking his head. He looked angry now, he had a look of betrayal swimming in his eye's, "he's nothing but trouble y/n he's a bully! To be precise he bullies me!" now you scoff, looking up at Daniel with a annoyed look.
"I've been talking to him about that, he hasn't bathered you any now has he? he's not a bad guy Danny, he's nice, kind and he treats me like a queen! You just never give him the chance to be a nice civilized person because you instantly start going at each other's throats" you huff out, watching your brother shake his head.
"he's everything but good, did you see how he was fighting me at the tournament? He was fighting dirty!" he nearly yelled in anger, causing you to tense your jaw.
"he's different when it's just me and him, he's always so kind, so sweet...he loves me Danny, and I know you don't wanna hear it but I love him too... " you trail off knowing no matter what you say Daniel wouldn't change his mind. He didn't approve of the relationship, he didn't want you around him...
"he's a bad guy y/n, he's gonna end up breaking you're heart and I don't want that to happen to you... You deserve better" he muttered before cutting the light off and angrily going to sleep.
The next few days after that night was horrible. When you woke up you had walked into the kitchen, picking up a orange from the fruit bowl and tossing it to Daniel with a little 'think fast!' in hopes he would catch it like usual, a smile on his face. But instead he focused on his bowl of cereal and let it fall to the floor, ignoring you.
At school he didn't even look at you, wouldn't speak to you or even let you sit with him at lunch. It was painful, especially since you and Daniel was like bestfriends. He was always there for you when you needed him, a shoulder to lean on, cry on. You felt absolutely heart broken but thought perhaps he'd go back to being his normal self over time... But days turned to weeks and that's when you knew what needed to be done, no matter how hard it would be...
The room was dark, the only light being that of the moons blue hue shining through the window. You laid on your bed, watching the clock tick as you patiently wait for midnight to roll around. The cold silver locket in your hand felt heavy, your heart aching. You look down at the metal locket and sigh, flipping it open you let a little smile etch itself on your lips, the picture of you and Johnny one of your favorites, it was the night of your second date, the one where you had both went rollerskating. It was taken by Johnny, he held it further away from you both, smiling wide as you were. You close the locket as midnight had arrived, and for once you actually dread it.
Standing from the bed and slipping out the door, before you closed it Daniel spoke up making you freeze in shock that he was talking to you and fright that you had been caught.
"remember what I told you about him y/n, he's a prick, he'll kick you in the back any chance he gets" Daniel said, making a lump form in your throat. Looking down at the locket in your hand you nod.
"I won't give him the opportunity Danny..." you muttered, tears filling your eyes as you shut the door and leave the house with a heavy heart, a dark cloud lingering over your head.
The streets was empty, void of traffic or people. The star's twinkling in the night sky as the moons light danced across the ocean, waves crashing into the shore, sitting in the sand the man who stole your heart the moment you looked into his beautiful eyes...
Letting out a deep breath and wiping at your eye's in hopes the tears would go away you walk over to Johnny with a fake smile. He looks up at you with a smile.
"hey babe, before I came here I got you something" he grins up at you, holding a hand behide him and away from your sight. You felt your heart being squeezed by an unbearable pain. Out of all the nights he had to be the sweetest it just had to be now...
"oh, what it is?" you say sitting beside him, watching how he only grins wider.
"give me a kiss and it's you'res" you give him a genuine smile, leaning in and pecking his lips shortly. But that obviously wasn't enough, his pout saying it all, "what was that? That was hardly even a kiss!" he laughs, making you roll your eyes and press a more firm kiss on his lips, deciding to deepen it, relishing in the feeling of his soft lips on yours, engraving his taste into your memory as you place a hand on his jaw and pull him closer. Making him let out a noise of surprise into it, smirking as he pulls away slowly.
"how was that?" you ask teasingly. He chuckles and shows you the gift, which wasn't much honestly, just a flower, your favorite. You take it and feel your heart swell at the sweet gesture.
"johnny it's beautiful! Thank you" you kiss his cheek and decide you should give him the locket, even though you knew Johnny wouldn't even think twice about wearing a necklace, you still wanted him to have it. You pull it out of your pocket and hand it to him.
"I know you won't ever wear it, but I wanted you to have this..." you muttered, watching how he takes it and looks over it, a fond smile on his face.
"a locket?" he asks with confusion, looking inside it at the picture, "our second date..." he chuckles at the memory. He looks back up at you with a look of pure love and affection, making you feel sick to your stomach. Johnny noticed the change of mood in you and gives you a concerned look.
"what's wrong?" he placed the locket down and cups your face. You bite your bottom lip to stop it from trembling, unable to look him in the eye's.
"I - I'll always love you Johnny, no matter what... You know that right?" you say, voice cracking. He nods his head and wipes away a falling tear off your cheek. You didn't even know you was crying...
"of course, I'll always love you too y/n" he reassures you, but he only made you feel worse...
"I want to end things..." you let out your tears, your voice trembled. Johnny looks takem back by your words, shocked. He let's go of your cheek and flickers his eyes across your face, looking for any sign of anything but truth.
"what? Why?..." he questioned as he clenched his fist around the necklace in his hand. His once happy smile morphing into anger and sadness.
"we can't be together anymore... I'm sorry Johnny... I love you -
"if you loved me then you wouldn't be saying all that - bullshit!" he stood up, necklace in a vice like grip in his hand as he looked down at you with heart broken eyes, anger, betrayal.
"I'm sorry" you sob out, tears freely falling from your eye's. Johnny scoffs and shakes his head, tears swimming in a pool of anger in those beautiful blues of his, making your heart break even more.
"I should have expected this, you leading me on. You're no better then that loser brother of yours!" he yelled, taking one last look at the locket, his tears fell from his eye's making him angrily wipe them away, "love me forever eh?" he takes the locket and throws it somewhere away from you both.
You sit helplessly, crying on the beach as you watch Johnny walk away. But you knew if you had Johnny in your life your brother would never talk to you again.... It was a hard choice, and you found yourself regretting it...
2018....
You woke up with a loud groan, rolling over in bed spotting the book on your bed side table, reaching over and taking it, opening the book to see the old withered and slightly torn flower, your favorite. Although it's color was slightly gone and it was dead, you loved it. It reminded you of him.
Shutting the book you place it back on the table and stand up from your bed, deciding to begin the day with a hot shower. you gathered your clothes and head into the bathroom. After that you had a tiny breakfast and head straight to your brothers work, only to torture him a bit.
It's been years since that horrid night you broke up with Johnny, yet it still haunts you. The guilt and regret never went away, you never dated anyone after that, never got married. Although your brother would always set up blind dates for you, saying you needed someone in your life like how he had amanda, his wife.
You smile when you pull up into the auto shop, seeing the big letters of your last name plastered on the building. Parking your car and stepping out you head inside instantly spotting Daniel, who gives you a wide smile.
"well if it isn't the bum who always drops by!" he joked, hugging you. You laugh and hug him back.
"I dropped by to see if I could get my insurance this month payed off for free" you joke right back making him roll his eyes.
"no can do sis, I'm afraid you're gonna have to do that yourself" he said with a chuckle. "what are you here for though? Need a job? Because we are always hiring y/n - and I think you'd really love -
"Danny I don't need a job here" you laugh at his rambling. Daniel was always so eager to hire you, he wanted you both to work in the same field, under the same roof. But you didn't want to work at his business, although it was pretty awesome, you didn't really like the whole 'car selling and paperwork' theme. So you was a waitress at a old dinner, it didn't pay good but you wasn't poor. You knew Daniel felt slightly guilty for having so much money and a big house while you struggled to pay rent in a apartment building. That's why he made it a habit of loaning you - gifting actually, money. Even when you refused to take it.
"I actually came here to ask you about the whole dick in you're mouth thing?" you giggle at his face of horror and frustration.
"oh God you saw the billboard?" he asks with a low tone, a look of annoyance etched on his face.
"of course I saw it! I think everyone has" you laughed, almost at the point of wheezing. "I even took a picture so I can always have it as a reminder" you wheeze out, causing him to groan.
"of course you'd do that" he muttered with a roll of his eyes.
"who done that anyway?" you ask, watching his expression turn from embarrassing and frustrated to conflict and deep thought.
"they didn't find him...or her..." he muttered, turning his back on you. Confused by how he just obviously lied to you, you shrug it off and understand it's a touchy subject for him, Amanda kindly texting you not to bring it up, but you did because it was to good not to.
"okay, well I hope you're day doesn't suck to bad" you stifle a laugh at your pun. He groans and shoo's you away.
"get out of here before I ban you!" you laugh loudly and complie, leaving the place. But as you walk to your car you noticed a yellow flyer on the ground. curious, you pick it up, heart skipping a beat at the word's...cobra Kai... But your heart fluttered yet is clenched with a guilt filled pain at the picture.
Johnny Lawrence in all his glory. He looked the same, a bit aged but still the handsome man who stole your heart all those years ago.
Folding the picture up you hop inside your car, deciding a little visit to this new cobra Kai dojo wasn't so bad. So starting your car and searching for the place you let your mind wander.
Was he still mad at you? Did he hate you?
Of course he did. you broke his heart for Christ's sake. He threw the locket you gave him away like it was a poisonous snake. You sigh when the building comes in sight. You park and stare at it, debating whether you should go in or not.
What if he didn't want to see you? Or what the hell would you even say?
You let out a deep dragged out breath before opening up your car door and getting out. You wanted to see him again, you needed to. So without a second thought you approached the dojo, getting ready to open the door while your head was held low.
That's when you felt a horrible pain in your nose as you fall on your back, a yelp emitting from you as you hold your hurting nose. Feeling the warm sensation of blood slowly falling from it. With eyes squeezed shut you groan.
"oh my God! Are you okay?" the familier sound of the one and only Johnny Lawrence blesses your ears. You feel his hands gently push your hair away and out of your face. "lady you're gonna have to move your hands otherwise I can't see what the hells wrong" you would have laughed at his polite yet slightly rude words if you didn't think your nose was broken.
You move them slowly and open your eyes only to be greeted with his beautiful concern filled blue ones. That's when it hit him, the realization of who you were, "y/n larusso? Is that you?" you sit up slowly and nod.
"yeah, is it just me or do you greet all women by hurting them unintentionally?" you joke, causing him to smile a small smile.
"come inside and let me check you're nose out, try stop the bleeding" he says while helping you up, leading you inside. His hold on your hand never filtered as he held it all the way to a little office typed room. Cleaning his desk off and motioning you to sit down on it. You do so and watch how he disappeared into some other room and soon returned with a few tissues and a cotton ball.
"so what brings you here? Wanting to learn some karate?" he asks with a teasing smile, wiping the blood from your nose then delicately placing the cotton ball inside the bleeding nostril.
"no, I actually saw a flyer and wanted to... See you" you muttered the last sentence but he heard. Giving you a small barely noticeable smile he crossed his arms. "it's been a while" you say with a nervous chuckle. Taking your eyes off him and looking down at your hands.
"well, since I hit you with my door how about I make it up to you and buy you a drink?" he suggests, causing you to snap your head up eagerly and nod.
"that sounds only fair" you giggle. He chuckles and reaches for his keys beside you on the table.
"then follow me" he said as he leads you out of the dojo.
In a car ride full of silence besides the classic rock playing on the radio, you both had arrived at a quiet little bar, where you both sat tucked away in a booth in the corner. A beer in both your hands as you talked and laughed like old times.
"oh God, do you remember that time when I snuck in through you're bedroom window and I didn't know you and you're brother shared room?" he asks with a laugh, the memory a hilarious one.
"you had to hide under the bed for like 5 hours before Daniel went to sleep!" you laughed, remembering how Daniel stayed up that night for hours telling you horrible jokes and stuff. Poor Johnny hiding under your bed and suffering through it with you.
"nothing will ever be as funny as that one time we went skating and you nearly broke my neck trying to push me away from you because you saw Daniel with ali" he snickered, sipping his beer as you snort.
"you wouldn't stop trying to make out with me, I thought he would for sure see us" you giggle while sipping your own beer.
"we used to have so much fun" he muttered, a nostalgic look on his face. You give him a fond smile and nod.
"y'know, I never wanted to break up with you that night..." you say, mind slightly buzzed from all the beers you've had. Not quite drunk, just more bolder with your words. "the only reason I did was because Daniel found out about us... He Stopped talking to me for days, he hated me"
That caught his attention and made him devote his full attention on you.
"he stopped talking to me, completely acting as if I didn't exist. So I knew if I didn't end things between you and me, I'd lose my only brother" you sigh, shaking your head and giving him a apologetic look. "I'm sorry I think I've had way to many -
"I kept it..." he blurted out, cutting your words short. You give him a confused look. "the locket, I went back the night after you ended things and found it" he reaches for the neckline of his shirt and pulled out the silver necklace locket.
You felt a flutter in your heart, a hope blooming inside you that perhaps maybe you still had a chance with Johnny. He smiles and flips the heart shaped pendent open, revealing the photo inside.
"you found it?" you questioned as you stood only to sit beside him, shoulders nearly touching as he shows it to you.
"of course, I didn't really throw it that far" he said while closing it, shoving it back under his shirt, "besides, even though you broke up with me I couldn't ever get you off my mind" he confessed while looking at you with those big blue eye's of his.
"likewise, I regretted that night ever since it happened" you muttered while looking away from him, feeling the guilt and heartbreak weighing down on you. Tears slowly starting to glisten in your eye's.
But Johnny gently placed his hand on your face, palm firmly pressed on your cheek as he makes you look at him.
"I understand y/n, I understand that you done that because you're brother and I aren't exactly bestfriends" he reassures you. Causing a little smile to tug at your lips. "I never stopped loving you y/n, and even though I can't stand you're brother... I'd love to take you to dinner sometime?" he asks with a little half smile.
You felt a wave of happiness wash over you, heart swelling with joy as you nod.
"of course, I'd love that" you say with a wide grin. He let's out a little chuckle, a silence falling over you two, his hand still on your cheek as he just let's his eyes roam your face with adoration.
"I missed you" he muttered, his thumb rubbing at your cheek.
"I missed you too..." you murmured, as you lean into his touch.
And as if he couldn't live without his lips on yours he brings your face closer and pressed his lips on yours. You was surprised at first but soon let your lips move with his in the familier way you missed, the kiss was enough to take your breath away. The way he nibbled at your bottom lip caused you to giggle into the kiss. Pulling away he gives you his beautiful smirk.
"I see you haven't changed a bit Johnny" you murmur with, small smile on your face.
"neither have you y/n..." he placed another kiss on your forehead as he wraps a arm around you, holding you close to him. For once in your life you feel content, happy. And there is no place you'd rather be than in Johnny's warm arms..

I know there was some super early script treatment for a part3 that got thrown out (written by horror writer Alan Ormsby) where Daniel was a college student co running a dojo with Miyagi. Been wanting to buy it off a script site sometime just to see how bad it was to make RMK agree to do a third film. The only thing that might sound redeemable I guess is having Daniel advance that bit lol
Daniel and Miyagi running a dojo together?? I mean, I don't hate the idea, but I also don't really buy Mr. Miyagi opening a public dojo since he was so reluctant to teach even Daniel. And karate is obviously an important part of Daniel's life, but I get the feeling that it wasn't his true passion when he was young. He is the Karate Kid, but it was always more about his friendship with Mr. Miyagi than him learning karate. Even the tournament was something he got dragged into through his conflict with Johnny. And I don't know how good a teacher a college-aged Daniel would have made.
I guess they replaced the idea of a co-dojo with the bonsai shop. And even that idea feels kind of random, doesn't it? There was no planning, Daniel just went ahead and did it like the day after Mr. Miyagi lost his job at South Seas!
TKK3 is honestly such a bizarre, fascinating, cursed movie! I also read that there was a version of the script where Daniel and Mr. Miyagi traveled back in time. And one version of the script killed Daniel, which is like... who the hell came up with that???

OOoh I like how we're starting this. I wonder if this is the actor they're planning to get for the Miyagi spin off. So here's a thing that confuses me. All the people in the tournament are under 18 right? Like the Sekai Taikai is an under 18 tournament. So how on earth did Mr. Miyagi participate in it after his wife and son died? After the war? Likes yes his age is a bit wonky, but he was well over 18 by the time he was out of the army and back in order to fight in this tournament. This is such an artsy metaphor. Daniel has spent pretty much the entire series of Cobra Kai looking for Mr. Miyagi and being lost because he no longer has him to guide him through life. Like he's been grieving through most of the show and trying to do what he thinks Mr. Miyagi would recommend, or to live a life Mr. Miyagi would approve of but now he's literally fighting Mr. Miyagi whose not this version he recognizes and thus a version that doesn't recognize him. He's literally fighting his internal understanding of who Mr. Miyagi is and was.
Tumblr media
And he's holding on so tight to everything he thinks and believes to the point he's choked up when saying:

Tumblr media
Oh what is this? Also I feel bad for Daniel because a lot of this is his fear. Learning from Chozen that he wasn't taught all of the Miyagi-do fighting styles. Realizing that there was this entire life Miyagi lived that he doesn't know, including the death of an opponent. It's probably stirring up all the grief 10 fold and making it worse. What a nightmare. Poor Daniel.

Glad that Daniel's double checking for sure to make sure it's real and brought support for this situation. So why are all the kids in the lobby with suitcases? Are they leaving? Looks like Tory is anyway. But aren't there more fights? Miguel just a continuous wtf. Maybe Axel is hoping if he stares enough you'll both adopt him into your relationship???? No clue what's happening there other than brooding stare. Oh Tory. I'm fascinated that they translate some of the Korean, but not all of it. Usually Kwon's curse words/disses they don't translate. Someone give Tory a hug. Robby, tag team it, get Sam in there. Did Robby get his hair cut between the last episode and this one? Where'd his little mini man bun with it's ribbon go? Miguel: It's pretty sweet knowing Cobra Kai's not going to be a threat anymore Pans to gramps sharpening his knife in the dark in his room. Also completely forgetting about Silver. Kreese are you literally going to murder Silver? Come on man. Why? It's your oldest buddy on the planet. Saved by the bell. Also fascinated Kreese was going to go for it even with Sensei Wolf and Dennis there. Well of course Cobra Kai is back in. Cobra Kai never dies. Do you think this hotel hates that they're hosting all these fighting teenagers? Like they just took up the entire lobby for a good 20 mins. I like that to continue to ruin this hotel's ability to flow they've taken up the stairs.
Tumblr media
Chozen having to pull things together since Daniel is out of it and Johnny's out for blood. It's good they have him around. Chozen out here lecturing Daniel and Johnny. He's right.
Tumblr media
Ayyeeee they've returned to the beach. Not the beach where they first met with a soccer ball, but eh we're close.
Tumblr media
I like the job of these two extras, just jog slowly past in the background. Daniel is so lost, help him find his way Johnny.
Tumblr media
Miguel: Omg dad's I can't take you anywhere. Also Miguel why aren't you at the gym practicing with Chozen and everyone else? Did someone go: Those two idiot sensei's of ours seem pretty low someone go keep an eye on them before their dumbassery gets them into trouble since the meter seems to be nearing red. And Miguel drew the short straw? (I also like how like nearly empty the beach was until it panned to Miguel and the cafe full of people watching behind him) Kreese this is not war. This is a tournament for teenagers.
Tumblr media
I love that Miguel put them both in time out. Omg I love it. This is very Johnny style training. But also just very them. A lot of their training is non-traditional and that's what makes it so good.
Tumblr media
Have someone drive you and chase your students through the market as training. Sam you wanted to see Barcelona with Miguel, here's your chance. (I love that Miguel is training with them)
Tumblr media
Ah a beautiful homage to the movies. Very Miyagi style
Tumblr media
Honestly this is better than studying in a gym. They're actually getting to spend time with their dad's out in Barcelona. So even if they lose this is still amazing.
Tumblr media
I love this training montage so much. I also am super curious what everyone else is doing. Using melons as weights, training in old places, using the city as their gym. This is how Johnny has pretty much done it and it also is how Miyagi did it.
Tumblr media
Plus like it makes a good tour video of Barcelona. (Something I'm used to happening more frequently in kdramas) Aww their little rocky run and Johnny and Daniel hugging in the background. Honestly this is what these kids wanted. They wanted to see Barcelona, spend time with their dads and kick ass. Pretty sure they've checked them all off.

Johnny tells Daniel that he doesn't know what's going on and that Daniel doesn't know what's he talking about, multiple times and is correct. Johnny tells Daniel that Louie trashed his car and so did a car Sam was in with her friends. Daniel doesn't buy it. Daniel shows up fighting mad and with a quiver in his voice about how his dojo got trashed and Mr. Miyagi's medal of honor was stolen. Johnny makes his students do burpies until they fess up.
Kreese's two cents is literally a challenge to Hawk and a warning: Someone knows something, it's just a question on whose going to break. That's like a warning that if Hawk had anyone else with him he doesn't know that they won't turn on him. And also a challenge to see if he's going to break before all of them.
And based off of Hawk's face he's feeling bad about it and a little scared that he's going to get caught and in trouble.
Johnny is so happy when he picks up the phone. But puts teaching his kids first until the news is broken over the phone.
Hawk and Kreese, worst combo. Eli says he thinks he should tell Johnny but Kreese tells him not to.
It's also literally the worst timing for this to happen. He tells Kreese to man the fort and do what he needs to do which gives him verbal permission to take over and he will not give any space back.
Tumblr media
having a big rock in the middle of the dojo is still dumb and dangerous. While this was down they should've moved it somewhere safer.
They're also finally dressed for summer in LA
Are you guys lifting because I feel like I'm doing nothing here. aka demetri expecting both Sam and Robby to move the whole rock on their own without him really helping but just looking like it. 😂
Poor Chris, he looks so sad.
I love that Daniel turns the analogy back against Demetri. Johnny wouldn't have been able to out nerd Demetri like this.
It looked like a lot of students left Cobra Kai last episode, but in this episode it looks like just 5.
Tumblr media
Tommy is out of LA staying in San Bernadino Hospice Center in room 112
Bobby! I do wonder why Bobby who seems to have been aware of this for a while, didn't mention anything earlier. But I also know sometimes hospice and such can sneak up on you.
Lol Tommy's watching soccer, Tommy says Johnny didn't have to come all the way out there to see him. But...of course he did. T_T
Tommy calls Bobby a priest first. Does that mean every time Johnny makes that joke he's doing it for Tommy?
Bobby's a pastor and Tommy owes him $50
'83 tournament Tommy beat Vidal to get into the semi-finals. Johnny beat him in the finals and Tommy didn't make it easy.
Jimmy on the phone with his wife Jenny and comes in bearing a big fruit basket is the cutest. Probably his boys helped him pick it out or something.
Tumblr media
They got permission from the doc to take him out for 24 hours. And Jimmy was planning to take him wherever they planned to go via car. However no one told Johnny the plan. Bobby's the one who is all for the road trip and giving Tommy a time to remember, both Johnny and Jimmy seem concerned about his condition.
They have ropes and weights now, I have no clue what Aisha is doing.
Tumblr media
The kids in the back are sitting and passing a weight around, Hawk's lifting an empty weight and a few kids are doing push ups. Why does Kreese have them all doing something different?
It's pretty messed up that Kreese knows who did it, but it still just making them all do this. He said "Keep going I can do this all day." Like he knows though, he's just torturing the kids for funsies.
Daniel's missed two sales meetings at LaRusso auto, and Amanda's at the north hollywood location which is where Anoush was moved to.
Maybe I gotta go deal with something important wasn't the best words there Daniel, maybe I gotta go break up a fight. I feel like Amanda would've understood that better then making it sound like LaRusso auto isn't important.
You know for Daniel putting Chris together with Demetri and how hard Demetri fights against Chris and how much focus is on these two...you'd think I'd remember them interacting more from the rest of the series.
Tumblr media
Look who learned to wear helmets. Someone tell Robby to wear one too when he boards.
They have their gear on the back of their bikes.
Tumblr media
They went to big bear lake
The bar they went to is called "Bear Paw"
The fake ID (horrible fake ID) was Tommy's and the bartender served them all dishwater. Tommy drank it thinking it was beer.
Next weekend Dutch got so drunk he smashed the dart board and went to Juvie and Johnny was so drunk that night he missed Ali's birthday. Which is why she broke up with Johnny.
Dutch is at Lompoc which looks to be a bit north of LA and Santa Barbara, meanwhile they're all currently west-ish from LA (about an hour and a half drive from Reseda)
They cheer to Dutch "When the judge say 5-10 she really meant ten to 20"
Which means they have kept in some contact. Jimmy thought Johnny was laying bricks.
They seem tentatively interested until he says he named it cobra kai, then bobby asks he brought back cobra kai.
Kreese has all the kids sitting up on their knees, which I don't think Johnny makes them do, with their hands behind their backs, there is one kid not doing it though.
Tumblr media
I don't know why but this is such a grandpa pose to me Kreese is in.
The first person Kreese tests out his old strategy of hit him again is with Tory.
Miguel points out that this is anti-Johnny's lessons and Tory stops which is good because she went straight for uh...Mitch? (I don't think we've been told his name yet) straight for his head.
Kreese realizes that with Miguel there he can't just completely take over and he definitely comes off threatening when he faces against Miguel but Miguel doesn't back down, which kudos to him.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure these kids were all from the most recent after all-valley batch. So it's interesting that they quit so soon and yet still do the whole strike first strike hard no mercy sir.
Brainedwashed by cobra kai is pretty...intense way to name it. especially because these are the newest students.
I love though that their best guess at what the ultimate lesson of karate is. Like do these kids live in a bubble? Like pretty much every piece of media says it's for defense. If they joined because of the all-valley surely some all-valley merch or heck any other dojo in the area would've told them that, or their parents. (But I get that this is for jokes)
I think it's funny that Daniel has no response to that.
Robby: I can't believe your dad let them in here. Says the kid jumping dojos more than any one else and Robby apparently has given up on people's ability to change, since he rebuttles Sam's he wants to help them change to a 'they won't.'
Tumblr media
Again, says Robby. Which really is just Daniel's words. Every time Johnny does anything Daniel dismisses it as he's a monster because he's cobra kai. And the one time Robby was happy with his father winning and his own second place Daniel immediately went on the war path.
This is when Daniel drops the 'not true, I was once cobra kai.' which has got to be so confusing to Robby. Because in that case, why not try and save his dad from it? Why go to battle against him as if he's irredeemable and poisoning the youth?
Apparently after high school the fall out from Cobra Kai was worse (according to Bobby)
Jimmy says Johnny got it the worst. Makes me wonder if after the all-valley if the all-valley was as popular as they kind of make it out to be, if everyone was shitty to them for being cobra kai, which doesn't quite line up because they'd left and Terry was able to torment Daniel the next year. So I kind of wonder what that alludes to unless they're talking about Kreese trying to kill Johnny but that was before high school was over.
Johnny says Kreese is on board with his changes (lies, I'm so sorry Johnny but total lies)
Tommy asks if Johnny trusts Kreese. Bobby says you never can he's always got something up his sleeve.
Tommy going for the change in topic: he wants to play pool.
Johnny looks delighted to go play pool with Tommy. That was such a big smile
Tumblr media
The person they fight with at the bar is first harassing a waitress, and then makes fun of Tommy when Johnny says they have next, and then proceeds to tell Johnny what he can suck only to get cut off by having his arm pinned behind him and has gauge ripped out of his left ear.
Bobby and Jimmy were sitting at the table but as soon as the fight starts Bobby comes running in for back up so fast and kicks a dude in the chest. Tommy's also punching people in a corner and Jimmy seems surprised he remembers how to fight.
They're drinking a pitcher of beer, but of course there had to be a coors banquet so there was one in the scene that got knocked over. Seriously, how much money did coors give Cobra kai?
Johnny spinning kick is great.
I think this is one of my favorite fights.
bobby gets pinned and Jimmy comes in and breaks a chair over the guy.
Gage guy gets Johnny in a head lock which what is this his third one of the series and we're only on season 2?
Tumblr media
and then I love it, the waitress that was being harassed slides a glass over to Johnny to break over the guy's head and johnny winks at her and whispers thank you.
Tumblr media
Looks like Daniel got 6 of the Cobra Kai students, all newer ones, and I swear it looked like more students left after Daniel ran in.
Daniel says he was weak when he joined Cobra Kai, but he wasn't. Not fully. He was just desperate. He's glossing over so much nuance. He makes it sound like Mr. Miyagi didn't want to teach him for a tournament, they got into a big fight so he joined cobra kai. But the truth is Daniel didn't even want to be in the all-valley again, not after talking with Mr. Miyagi and agreeing with him, but Terry Silver and Mike Barnes literally cornered him into it. Like Daniel was hanging off a cliff with Jessica and literally would die if he didn't agree to fight. (this is one of those moments where if you just watch the show and not the movies as well you kinda miss the important context, because Daniel underplays how traumatic TKK3 was for him which I feel like is a disservice to the audience)
Daniel: I learned how to strike first, strike hard, show no mercy. Daniel, dear, you did not. You learned Terry Silver's 3 D's: Desire, Devotion and Discipline. Which again, kinda a disservice to the audience that's only watching Cobra Kai.
It turned me into an angry and violent kid. Bud, you were already a little angry and a little violent/blood thirsty. Mr. Miyagi calmed you down, balanced you out. But what Cobra Kai did was terrorize you and scare the hell out of you. You punched one guy, hid that you were learning the lessons from Mr. Miyagi because you were terrified of Mike Barnes and his friends. And the lessons you were getting were tailored specifically to torture you. It's not the same.
Sam: You never told me about any of this. That's because it's not quite right, and because your dad has buried his trauma and refused to deal with it. This is just the tippiest tip of the iceberg.
Daniel: It's not something I'm proud of. Daniel, you were tricked and you were a kid. It's not your fault. But you would think with the way you're relating with these kids you'd take a moment to try and relate again to Johnny and actually listen to him.
I'm lucky Mr. Miyagi was willing to take me back. Bud you were living with him because your mother abandoned you and went back to Jersey. Mr. Miyagi spent the whole movie worried about you, he was never not going to take you back, he was just missing you and being sad, waiting for you to come back the whole film.
Miguel wears a beaded bracelet on his left wrist. You would think, no jewelry in the dojo. But I do love that he's accessorizing.
Tory's mom worked at a restaurant and the leftovers would be what Tory and her brother would eat but the manager fired her over it. No warning or notice, it was just against policy and was going to be thrown out anyway, not something that was stolen.
I guess everyone else is done. Now they're just watching Demetri and Chris try and lift the rock. Literally everyone is just standing watching.
Daniel you're so lucky they didn't drop that rock and break something.
Tumblr media
I'm not ready. T_T
I'm glad Tommy had fun.
Johnny tells him to stop by the dojo sometime. I suppose someone told Johnny that Tommy was dying but no one mentioned how long he had or they all assumed Tommy has longer.
Tommy didn't think Johnny needed to know, so he didn't tell him he was in love with Ali, in freshman year they were in the same homeroom and talked all the time. Tommy was building up the courage when Johnny struck first.
Tommy says that's why he joined cobra kai, to have the balls Johnny had. Which is interesting because Johnny joined at what 12? And freshman year would've been what 14-15? So a year or two later Tommy joined.
Johnny says he never got over Ali, and never let his guard down with another 'babe', not like with Ali.
Tommy: You've still got one thing that's more important than anything. Johnny: What's that? Tommy: Time. You still have time.
Meet someone new, change your life. Do what you want to do.
Johnny says his only goal at the moment is to make sure his students don't make the same mistakes they did and don't look back on their life full of regret, which just...there's so much growth there.
Tommy: You'll do it, you're the champ.
😭😭😭😭
I do want to know what Jimmy and Bobby were doing during that whole convo? Did those two go to bed early? One of them had to go to the bathroom so they went together or something? That was a long convo for them both to be MIA for.
Tumblr media
Daniel look at this. Your kids are spread out with a gravel rock path between them, one is for some reason up higher than the rest, some are in the grass, some are on wood, the whole thing is at an angle, and there's so many like sharp corners on the deck, on the stone pagoda. I get the the grass and the garden is more peaceful but maybe you could've moved all the cars and done this in the dirt out front instead? Sam and Robby are literally on a bridge over a bunch of rocks.
Tumblr media
Also from this angle, look how far away Daniel is. 😂 And there's a kid right next to that giant rock. Also why are the bonsai back on the balance wheel? Do you move those giant bonsais every time you want to use it? I figured the balance wheel was just totally only being used for dojo stuff now and no longer for plants.
Tumblr media
This is a motto that feels weird with Kreese. Cobra Kai never dies. Except Kreese does, two or three times, but it's fake, every time. So I guess he never dies? People just think he does.
I think if Johnny hadn't lost his dojo to Kreese he would've put mats in that storage room. Because these kids are barefoot on cement and working out on cement which seems super unsafe. Especially with all those weights and being barefoot.
You honor sensei Lawrence with your allegiance I feel like is very telling for Kreese, that he's separating a bit. Or trying to take over.
Ugh. The whole, Johnny's a little mixed up, but you and I Miggy will get him back on track won't we? Johnny doesn't need to be put back on track. He was right.
Johnny's sleeping on the ground. No tent. Not in his sleeping bag.
Jimmy's the one who finds Tommy first and his voice is already cracking.
bobbys trying to do CPR
Kreese's monologue during this is so...brutal since he's literally stealing away the dojo while Johnny's yelling for Tommy to wake up.
Jimmy's the one who runs down to flag the ambulance.
The EMT's with their Baywatch slow run with their gear.
Tumblr media
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I also just realized that the logo (from a few episodes ago) that Johnny requested with the chrome and the fire is literally the ending title cobra.

Episode 10
What the hell? That was so uncool! Making me think Miguel is in hospital again when it's goddamn Sting-Ray. Don't toy with my emotions like this :(((
And wow, little Kenny's gone full dark side... Cobra Kai really wasn't the answer to your problems, kid. I also feel bad for Robby who tried so hard to be a good mentor for him, but it obviously backfired, because you always lose with Cobra Kai, even when you win.
Johnny's confrontation with Kreese in the hallway, man, Marty and Billy have such good chemistry. Sparks fly between them when they're in front of the camera together. And I really, really hope Johnny's right about tonight being the night when Cobra Kai dies, but I'm not holding my breath :(
Oh Johnny... So obsessed with beating Cobra Kai and Daniel LaRusso that he doesn't even see the pain in Miguel's eyes. This hurts my heart so much. I love that he believes in Miguel, has been there for him through all his troubles, but this is more about him and his own pride. Seriously, the pressure both Johnny and Daniel have placed on their kids' shoulders this season has been crazy and it shouldn't be like this, it really shouldn't.
Miguel... didn't show up? Eagle Fang is out?! You know what? GOOD. Seriously, good for you, kid. And at least Johnny immediately recognized his own mistake.
Well, well, well. Daniel is finally giving his blessing to using offensive moves. How the turn tables... Seriously, though, it was about time for our karate twink to open his ass mind to Johnny's methods.
Eli and Robby are such a great pair for the boy's final match because both of them are a mix of two dojos and two fighting styles. This is incredible to watch. This is like the most intense karate we've seen this season, right after Johnny and Daniel's rematch in one of the earlier episodes.
Sudden death!!!! Omg I'm biting my nails here!
Ha! Robby talking back to Terry Silver! That's my boy! <333
And Daniel really is embracing the full combination of Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang now, finally seeing the light :3
Aaaaaaaaah I'm on the edge of my seat! This is so nerve-wracking! I hope Eli wins, I really do!
HE DID!!!! Oh my gosh I think I just yelled loud enough for my neighbors to hear me :D Omg look at Eli! He's so happy and I'm so happy for him. Full redemption, baby!
I've really loved this little arc Amanda has had with Tory this season. It's been great for both characters and I hope they continue to give Amanda better storylines in future seasons, because she can do so much more than just walk around the dealership.
Daniel asking for Johnny's help and both Johnny and Daniel apologizing to each other? FINALLY. Thank you. Jeez, those two knuckleheads were starting to worry me a little, but the karate dilfs are getting back together and tearing the divorce papers :3
And the callback to what Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel about doing karate, not Mr. Miyagi's way, but his own way was so beautiful. Because that's what this whole season has been about: there is no one right way, the world is not black and white and you gotta find out who you are and what path works best for you.
MIYAGI-FANG IS OFFICIALLY CANON. Just for today, though XD
Daniel and Johnny coaching Sam together. We are living the dream and I think I have something in my eye T___T
Okay yeah I'm definitely crying now that Daniel made the announcer call Johnny his "fellow two-time All Valley champion", because why the hell are people always forgetting that Johnny is also a two-time champ?!
Okay my stomach is in knots over this Tory vs Sam fight! I have a feeling that Tory is going to win, and ngl, I'd be happy for her if it didn't mean that Cobra Kai wins the tournament.
Oh poor Sam and her eye! :( This fight is incredible! Correction: this whole tournament is incredible! I haven't been this invested in the All Valley since the first movie! Also, you know Terry Silver is fucking brutal when even Kreese is side-eyeing him for the advice he's giving to Tory...
Oh my god Tory won? Cobra Kai won??? Shit shit shit shit shit shit! I wanna cheer for her but I also wanna cry.
The look on Daniel's face right now. Jesus. Terry Silver is about to spread his evil Cobra poison all around the Valley and there's nothing Daniel and Johnny can do about it.
EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT?! Terry Silver, that slimy snake, paid the ref so Cobra Kai would win? Ooooof course he did. And I hate that I'm actually shocked by this reveal. What a fucking crook. Poor Tory :( I wish she hadn't found out.
Johnny and Robby, finally getting their moment to make peace with each other. I can barely see what I'm typing because my eyes are swimming with tears :((( This has been such a hurty season for Johnny, Robby and Miguel. My heart will need some time to recover from it all, but thank you, Cobra Kai, for this scene, for the forgiveness and the hug.
So. I have a feeling that Kreese is starting to regret that he summoned the devil that is Terry Silver back into his life right about now, as he's getting psychoanalyzed by him over a glass of Bollinger and taking the blame for Silver's own crime.
Terry Silver admitting that John Kreese is his weakness *eyes emoji*. The Cobra Husbands have had another epic breakup, but I feel like their shippers dined pretty damn well this season?
Also, please don't let Terry Silver anywhere near Johnny Lawrence ever again. Thank you.
Oh man, this fucker is so evil. I love it. I'm simultaneously shaking my fist at my TV and grinning like a hyena. This really was the ultimate Terry Silver mind game and I can't believe it was John Kreese who paid the price.
Miguel has ran away from home to find his roots?? His evil father? So I guess we know where Johnny and Miguel (and hopefully Robby as well) will be at the beginning of season 5.
Daniel on Mr. Miyagi's grave, telling him he's lost Miyagi-do :((( WHAT! IS THAT CHOZEN?? AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! What a reveal! I did not see that coming. Wow. This is incredible. We're gonna have a Daniel + Chozen team up next season. Our little karate twink is going to be unstoppable with two of his former karate nemesis at his side. PREPARE YOUR ASS TERRY SILVER BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING DOWN!
This season was amazing. I'm speechless right now and will need a lot of time to digest everything, but I loved it so much. I'll also need another rewatch before I can rank it, but right now I'd say it was my favorite season so far, along with season 1. I had the same issues with it that I always have with Cobra Kai, but I've come to accept that they're part of the show and I just have to live with them, because I alone am not the target audience. Overall, this was an amazing ride and I can't wait to watch it again later tonight or tomorrow.
Cobra Kai season 4 liveblog
This will be my Cobra Kai season 4 liveblog thread. I'm starting tonight with episode 1 and will probably have a reaction to each episode. I'll tag this thread with #Cobra Kai season 4 and #Cobra Kai season 4 spoilers so you can filter it and avoid getting spoiled.
I hope everyone has a great time watching!
