are all the ROs available in all the paths?

yes they are! It's absolutely up to you who you want your MC to romance. So while some paths may have certain RO heavy content (for example, How being important to the city path), in no way does it mean you have to romance that RO, or that the other ROs are inaccessible during the path. For example, you can speak to Dylan about your adventures in the city and she'll share about herself in turn, and comment on the dangers that you're putting yourself through.

Of course, there are some story-relevant reasons why some ROs are not available as active companions during these paths, like for example: How is a massive skeptic and would not be caught dead venturing near the PAA settlement. He'll probably admonish you for doing so, lol.

There's also no set order to these paths. You can choose to do which one you want to do first :)

How do you get people to always buy your dragons? Genuine question

i was gonna say something like “haha i have no fucking clue” but that would be a lie i think about this a lot actually so i might have some insights i’ve been breeding dragons as my primary activity on FR since i started playing FR (in 2014...) and people have only started actually buying dragons from me consistently like, 5-6 months ago, despite 2-3 attempts at running a genuine hatchery onsite that always died due to lack of interest & not really being worth the effort. 

so ive thought a lot about what the hell is happening now and why my dragons are suddenly consistently selling and I think ive come down to these being the main points of advice i can give: 1. make friends! be friendly! don’t be weird! be a cool and fun person to interact with! 2. post consistently. post your dragons consistently. post about other stuff consistently. just be an active member of the community 3. POST YOUR SHIT IN THE “#FLIGHT RISING” TAG. THIS IS PROBABLY THE ONLY TRUELY HELPFUL THING I SAY IN THIS POST 4. make pairs that are sexy as hell and be openly proud of them. make dragons and pairs that you like, not what you think will necessarily sell. people can tell when you like stuff and being genuinely passionate about something, whatever the fuck it is, will get other people passionate as well longer versions/explanations under the cut because man this got a mile long. i wasn’t kidding when i said i think about this a lot and i am so sorry if you wanted something concise and useful

1. to be a little glib. i am mutuals/friends with more clout in the FR community than I do kjdshfdsfdhjhkfdf shoutout to everyone who draws their dragons really good on a regular basis because i am riding on your coattails to sell my dragons. i love you this was never my intent, obviously! 2. being consistent! just. posting consistently! posting Every Hatchling I Have and Talking About Them On Tumblr!  Once I had a couple nests just sell super fast likely due to aforementioned clout, i was emboldened to just post more of my nests more often and I swear this has more effect than anything else. i just needed the self-esteem boost to Start Doing That posting consistently makes ppl follow u for ur content which gets even more people to look at your dragons which gets more people to buy your dragons.

2a. Also just post a lot in general, even if you aren’t necessarily posting about your dragons for sale. it definitely helps! just be friendly and active and people will come

3. post your shit in the tag. not in “#dragon-sales” or “#fr-dragon-sales” or anything weird like that because I don’t know if anyone actually looks at those, but people definitely browse “#flight rising”. no matter how many followers you have, more people will see your content if you post it in #flight rising than if you just chuck it into the void.

3a. however! do not put links into the post if you want it to actually show up in the tag. tumblr is cool in that it doesn’t actually matter that much when you post something, the same way it really matters on twitter bc twitter has algorithms that decide for you what it thinks you want to be seeing whereas tumblr just shows you everything in chronological order. if you post something into the tag at 1am... it will still be there at 2pm when people log on and start scrolling.

the only thing tumblr seems to consistently hide from a tag (and possibly a dashboard, but idk) are posts with links in them, as a half-assed attempt to limit spam. instead of linking to your sales tab/to the dragons directly in the post, reblog it with the links instead. to reduce latency between a post going up and the links being available, i type out the links in the initial post, cut them, post the thing into the tag, then very quickly reblog, paste the links, and post the reblog jdhfsdf. i don’t know if that benefits anything really? but it can sometimes take me a while to type links, so if i posted, pressed reblog, typed up all the links, then posted, it’d be like ~15 minutes where someone may see the post, think “oh i would like to buy those dragons”, then can’t find the link, think “oh well, i will just find it later”, scroll on, and just... completely forget about it. so uh. go quick?

3b. the armchair sociologist in me also thinks self-reblogging has the added benefit of like... you know how people are more likely to tip a barista when a dollar is already in the tip jar? or how people are more likely to take one of those little tabs on a flyer if one of them is already missing? i think that works with notes, too. i don’t know why i think that or why it happens i just swear once a post gets 1 note, suddenly it gets Even More Notes, and if it doesn’t get any notes for a while it will sit at 0 notes until the end of time. so giving yourself 1 obligatory note makes people more likely to interact. i think

4. all of these are hard to quantify but this one is especially so: have cool and unique dragons. make your pairs sexy as hell. don’t put all your eggs (hah) into the one basket of selling dragons that are technically “popular”. we have all seen triple white/triple obsidian/triple orca/triple any other popular colors and cherub/pere/stained or wasp/bee/glim pthahlos or whatever. they’re pretty! we get it! but everyone has had one and everyone has had those pairs and market for dragons like that can be super oversaturated. try to break free from that and sell dragons that people can only get from you. I can’t tell you what to do though bc that rly depends on you. make pairs that you find exciting or interesting and people will feel that. i have a very specific theme and aesthetic that i don’t feel like is especially common on FR and i am genuinely very enthusiastic about it. marine shit is my Thing:tm: both on and off FR and dragons are one of my many ways of expressing that   if you have a Thing:tm:, either some fr-centric aesthetic (like being super into plague or earth or light or something) or something more general (such as any of the -punks or -cores)... just fuckin roll with it honestly. if you’re goth? make got h dragons. like scene stuff that looks straight out of a middle school in 2010? rock that hot-topic lair. outdoorsey type? make dragons that look like you’d meet them on a hike in the woods. it really works with anything!  people can tell when you really love something and i know that seeing someone really love something, even if it’s not necessarily MY thing, makes me really excited too!!

4a. never show fear. people can smell fear. never be like “well this one isn’t that good” because suddenly now you’ve planted the idea that it’s ugly in other people’s heads when they may have really liked it had you not accidentally suggested to them that it’s an ugly dragon. people are EXTREMELY suggestible to even VERY minor cues so be always a little bit bolder than you think you should be you’d be surprised at how many times ive been like “eh, this one’s kind of a dud, i’ll probably have to exalt this one when the auction expires” and then that hatchling is the first to sell. never ever ever ever decide what other people like for them. always act like your dragons are the hottest shit in all the land and Believe It. this is what people mean when they say “fake it till you make it”

- 4b. also, idk if it’s true of everyone but it’s really off-putting to see someone having serious pity-parties for themselves, on sales posts or otherwise. ive had bad experiences with people who are uncomfortably quick to self-depreciate (because they were using their genuine self-hatred to manipulate me or my friends), so i might be a little more trigger-happy about avoiding this behavior than others, but don’t weaponize your sadness to guilt people into doing what you want. it’s really not cool.

i don’t post about all the times i have to exalt dragons that don’t sell. you are seeing me being very selective about what i post. you dont sit and stare at my lair or click through offspring lists or check old sales posts. there are a lot of times where someone just doesn’t sell. even now when i’m selling stuff pretty consistently i will still sometimes have dragons that don’t sell for seemingly no reason. even dragons I think are sure to sell will sometimes just... not. and that’s ok! you gotta just be.. ok with that. it’s par for the course. i typically list dragons for 7 days on the AH, give them a couple more days after their auction expires (partially because i forget, partially to give them a grace period for people to pm/ask me about them), and then exalt them after that point. w/ some dragons that i don’t think got a fair shake for one reason or another (such as the sales post not showing up in the tag or something) i do a little clearance (like the halloween dragons i recently posted) but for the most part if they don’t sell, i just exalt them. 90% of the time i don’t even bother to level them up i just press the exalt button and call it a day. it’s fine

If a guy like Bazz-B doesn’t engage with that sort of vile nonsense, none of you should either.

The sort of starter that turns it back at the recipient with something akin to “Why are you here” are confining. Also, if in the starter your muse is already pushing away mine.. Bazz-B might just nope outta there.

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE MOST?:  Despite my main muse being Bazz-B (or perhaps in favour of it) I typically write as old men cemented deeply in their ways. Yamamoto Genryuusai Shigekuni, King Baraggan Louisenbairn and Ichibei Hyosube are just some examples. Bazz-B kinda fits the bill too.. I GUESS.

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?:  Cold, distant, dispassionate sorts. I could never write as the likes of Ishida, Ulquiorra, Haschwalth, etc. They’re all very nuanced characters, they just don’t mesh well with me. 

WHAT ARE YOUR STRONG ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I typically respond lightning fast, my last two weeks or so a poor example of that. I’m passionate, you’ll not find another person so desperately in love with Bazz-B as this fool. I’m easy-going, you can take as long as you want and I’ll still be ready to rumble.

WHAT ARE YOUR WEAK ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: Tumblr confuses the hell out of me, I don’t understand a lot of lingo and the big CARDINAL LAWS of writing. I struggle with scene transitioning and limb placement, and my tags are a mess.

ARE SHIPS IMPORTANT TO YOU?:   YES / NO A characters growth should never be locked to a specific person, but exploring a character in isolation can only get you so far. As people, we grow from one another. Romance is a key factor in formulating a person’s ideals, but that’s no the only form of ship. The eventual friendship between Bazz-B and Liltotto and Giselle is one of the most interesting things to me. A romance surviving Silbern is incredibly powerful in my opinion. The bond of a teacher and a student. There are so many situations that force a character to change how they would typically react.

WOULD YOU SAY YOUR BLOG IS SHIP-FOCUSED?:  YES / NO. More and more I’ve been thinking that I’ve been writing Bazz-B in more ships, but that is not the blog’s focus. Ultimately I’m exploring the character of Bazz-B, and that just happens to be inclusive of ships. Some of my most active writing partners also happen to be muses that Bazz-B has excitedly/begrudgingly/unexpectedly fallen for.

- WHAT CATCHES THEIR INTEREST FIRST WHEN MEETING SOMEONE NEW?:  Style, first and foremost. If a Quincy had modified their Wandenreich uniform he’s gonna take notice and make some judgement calls. The rest comes after.

- WHAT DO THEY VALUE IN A PERSON?:  Honesty to themselves, and a drive to survive. Not to be buried by what’s expected of them, or what they should do. Free will is one of the fundamental truths of the world.

Who am I?

I recently did an interview with my friend who works as a social media influencer for her newly launched website. Im reposting the content here & I hope the answers give some insight into who I am & perhaps the misunderstood world of sex work...

However this is a topic that i think we will touch on later in the interview.

Can you describe the people who pay for your time and services? What gender are they? Which services are they usually asking for? 

Wow, how much time do you have?! Haha. The spread is more diverse than you might be able to imagine and some of them you may actually know!  In fact one of the things i love about escorting is how diverse a spectrum of people I know and connect with. I am quite a people-oriented person and people will sometimes trust me with a side of themselves they don’t show anyone else. Over time, i have acquired a vault-like inventory of insights on how people think and feel in their most secret thoughts & when they are most vulnerable. When people meet me they will often remark that I have a different outlook on life and i believe this is partly responsible.

 I see females, males & couples. As an assertive 6 ft 4 male i tend to attract individuals of a more submissive disposition who access intimacy most readily through strong guidance & instruction both inside and outside the bedroom. This means that most frequently individuals will come to see me to experience domination, tantric massage or for me to be their ��boyfriend-for-the-night’. 

What are you’re limits in your job? 

My sexuality aligns more strongly with what my role in the bedroom is than what the gender of my partner is. Submissive acts of any kind simply don’t turn me on and its important as a male that i am enjoying myself if you catch my drift haha 😛! 

 Drug use and unprotected sex are also major no’s for me and are unfortunately highly prevalent in the world of escorting. I did once spend a week with an individual who wanted unprotected sex but we both agreed to get a full sexual health screen before and after! I also get tested every 3 weeks.

Humanity and escorting/prostitution. What is your personal and honest opinion about the work you do? Were you ever judged harshly when you revealed that you are an escort..? If yes, how and why do you think people judge the job you have negatively? 

I touched on this briefly earlier but the first thing to say is that there are two clear & distinct fields within “escorting”. 

 First is what I would refer to as the “independent” escort. These range from the student looking to make some extra money to highly intelligent individuals who have found success leveraging their social & sexual skills into a fulfilling lifestyle. We advertise through independent advertising sites or agencies that take a pre-agreed percentage of what we make and make arrangements for us.

 The demand for ‘sexual services’ is deep rooted in society and using a currency to expedite that process is fairly well established in not just human civilisation but the animal kingdom. One study into our closest animal relatives, the chimpanzee, showed that when a currency was introduced into their social ecology the first thing they did was trade it for sex! So sex work in some manner was always there, it remains here and is here to stay; so should our response as a society be to condemn something that is an upshot of who we are as humans? No. In my opinion understanding and accepting the independent sex worker is the best way to prevent escorting becoming the dark, exploitative activity which people confuse with what i do. The best way for society to deal with it perceives to be its ills is to, to quote Karl Jung, ‘integrate its own shadow into the whole’…

The second type of escort is the “trafficked” escort. These are mostly female and are brought into the country either by a boyfriend or a cartel of traffickers usually against their will or under false apprehensions. The entire business end is managed by minders and little to none of the money reaches the woman doing the ‘work’. These girls are advertised through ‘massage parlours’ and occasionally through independent sites. A couple of my friends have worked as ‘madams’ in the brothels where these girls sometimes work and the stories are so bad that they would never even find their way into the most explicit documentary. This is the part of escorting that is damaging to peoples humanity, is exploitative at every stage of the operation & has practically no cross over with what some of my friends & I do.

Was I ever judged harshly? Once or twice...but escorting is only one small part of who I am. I also have a degree from one of the best universities in the UK. I do gymnastics & triathlons, I read loads, love art, etc. so i don’t need to hide any part of myself. I simply try to be tactful so that the preconceived notions people have don’t prevent them from seeing all of who I am

I expect people to always challenge what i do. It makes me question where i am in my life. Is escorting still right for me? It is right now but in 6 months or a year who knows where life will take me...

What is the the most unforgettable experience or moment from your job?

Thats a difficult question to answer. Australia was my favourite travel location although its sufficed to say that I enjoy sun, sea and sex! I am always happiest being active and healthy outdoors.

What does love mean for you? Have you ever been in love? Does your heart belong to someone at the moment? 

It’s rare that someone engages me on an emotional level. It’s not my natural posture. However, conversely my friends would probably describe me as verbally and emotionally articulate. As I see it this comes down to a preference for remaining in control but doing so by understanding what’s going on rather than shutting things out. 

Amorous love for me is. Hmmmm. Well i’d most succinctly describe it as - surrender, but defined within reason; not to a fatalistic degree like teenagers or Romeo & Juliet haha! I think there is surrender involved in finding the compromise that it takes to form a bond with someone regardless of whether you call that person your partner, your lover or even your submissive!

I was in love a few years ago but right now my heart belongs to myself, the gym & my passport and I’m happy just like this right now haha.

How do you imagine that right person with who you would like to live and build your life together..? 

I don’t have a clear picture of anything for my future in that way. I am the author and director of what is to come. I don’t have any intention of releasing myself into the hands of fate and hoping my future turns into a dream i once had or a story i read if you see what i mean. I have hopes for the future but not expectations. When i meet someone, regardless of who they are, i hope that they will meet and surpass everything i believe about the positive capacity & potential of humans but I expect that a lot of the time both them and I will fail to live up to this because we are all imperfect. For me its important that people I’m with treat me with this same reasonable attitude and understanding. Sometimes when people meet me and know what i do and see my pictures and social media they forget that i have my own idiosyncracies and flaws like everyone else. 

The only firm criteria I have is that I am able to have the same wild adventures with that person that I have on my own or with friends. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen some amazing things and anyone i am with longer term needs to expand the scope of my life not limit it.

What are your plans for the future? 

My goal is to continue to do what I’m doing and over time develop the personal training that i also do into a fitness business. I am going to become qualified to instruct swimming, yoga, gymnastics & triathlon in addition to qualifications i already have and use them to build a company that focuses on truly functional fitness through sport. When i go into gyms I find it hard seeing how poor most peoples general understanding of training, sport & their own body is. There is so much to learn from sport that can be applied to those with more of an interest in general fitness.

       RP is meant to be something fun for both parties. Here are some rules to ensure we both feel safe and comfortable while writing together!!! I may sound harsh and picky here, though I promise I am not. I am just slowly adapting and changing with the me personally, what I feel needs to be said, and just things I add that I see overtime. I am very protective of my muse (hence why I have so many rules) but I love writing and I would love to write with you, but first I would love if you could take some time to skim this over real quick.

1. At a time I will actively have running usually 100+ threads on this blog alone. Yes it is a lot and yes I am a part time worker and full time student, but I have a schedule to work it out

            -If you think that I am forgetting something of ours or have lost it, you can message me to remind me but please be courteous about this. I have a life and this is a deep hobby of mine and sometimes I have spouts of time when it’s easier to write with mates.

2. I love memes. I fully consider myself meme trash. If you reblog a meme, there is a 99% chance that I will send it (I have been holding back, and I keep saying that I will stop. But now I generally mean it). IF I SEND YOU A MEME YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO RESPOND. YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO MESSAGE ME AND SAY I AM NOT FEELING IT, JUST DELETE IT. I will not be upset. I understand. 3. Replies might take me awhile. Leta is an emotionally complex character and as such it takes a lot of energy to write a single paragraph. Every word and motion she makes has a reason to it. I do not half ass any of my threads, every word of it is coming from Leta and has been thought out thoroughly, as such, somethings get replied before other and go in the opposite order of what I owe (my drafting process goes something like: Okay. This is what I owe, though if I cannot write this for whatever reason I will move on to something else I owe said partner). I take my muse very (too) seriously and Leta can get in certain moods and since I write from her and where her head space is at. Sometimes Leta will want to throw herself into bad and torturous situations, other times she just wants a hug, and other times she just wants a cry. She is emotional. She has trauma. If you won’t give me patience, which I don’t either sometimes, I get it, give HER some.

            -Going along with this, I don’t censor Leta. If she says or does something that makes your muse or you uncomfortable I ask you please message me.  (this applies to OOC as well)

           -And also. I play Leta a little differently than others, I know. Don’t tell me how to control my muse. And don’t GodMode.

          -I love criticism and thought on what I am missing, but that is different from hate. THIS IS A HATE FREE ZONE FOR ME AND MY MUTUALS. DO. NOT SEND. HATE.

4. Starter Calls, Meme Calls, ANY call unless otherwise stated is mutuals only. Memes are for everyone, though it may take me a little to get to them. This is for my own sanity 

         -You can ALWAYS send me memes and you can ALWAYS message me to plot. And if we are mutual you can always send me an in character ask unprompted. 

5. I am a selective shipper. The way I portray Leta she is very very VERY emotionally raw. She doesn’t get into platonic or romantic relationships too easily. When it comes to romance the only character who does not have to come approach me about plotting is Theseus Scamander (and a young Newt, but that is toxic). Otherwise just pop into my IM’s with a “yo. I ship our characters” and we can talk about it.

6. OC’s. I love them, though I ask your character has a bio and that you are okay if I ask you some questions about your character. Without a biography I have the full right and will probably say no to writing with you.

      -Though I will not have any pre-assumed relationships with an OC unless otherwise discussed and plotted.

7. I  am 18+. There will be adult content on this blog. I like writing adult content. I will RP with minors. I will not RP the following material with a minor as I deem it adult only material: NSFW, Manipulation, Torture, Kidnapping. ABOUT

This is a Tamaki Suoh blog from Ouran High School Host Club. My interpretation of him is based on the anime and manga so please expect me to incorporate things from both! I will also be throwing in the flare of my own headcanons into the mix, so please expect that.

I am SEMI-SELECTIVE blog. What this means is that I am reserving the right to decide who I want to roleplay with at any given time. I do this for my anxiety sake, and I don’t ever want to roleplay with someone out of guilt or obligation. All I am asking is that you please respect this, I have a hard time with confrontation, but I am not about to be bullied either.

My activity often varies day to day, there are some days that I’m on all day long, and other days where I don’t touch my computer at all. I’m a stay at home mom, and sometimes my children don’t exactly make it easy to actively be online. I also have other hobbies like video games, and sometimes I’m just in the mood to binge watch a show rather than trying to do drafts.

DRAFTS & MEMES & OPENS & VERSES

When it comes to DRAFTS, and replies I want it to be known that I am not fast most days. I have my good days and my bad days when it comes to writing, and even on my good days I’ve been known to queue things if I feel like I need a chance to get caught up. I ask nicely that you don’t harass me for a reply, though if it has been over two weeks you can kindly ask me if I’ve seen your reply because sometimes tumblr can be dumb, or I can be spacey.

Anyone is allowed to send in MEMES, however I reserve the right to decide not to answer it for whatever reason. You are totally allowed to turn any meme I answer into a thread, AS LONG AS YOU MAKE IT A NEW POST.

Along with memes, anyone is allowed to reply to one of my OPENS or like one of my STARTER CALLS. The only time this changes is if I specifically tag it as 'mutuals only’, and I ask that you please respect that. Though I do try to write everyone a starter or make sure I answer everyone’s reply to an open, I’m not perfect. I may miss one or two, or I may not be able to come up with something decent.

I am a multi-ship and multi-verse blog, and what this means is that any and all interactions I have with fellow rp partners are all in their own separate verses. Unless discussed ahead of time by all parties involved. I love all forms of AUS and CROSSOVERS and most of the time am more than willing to figure out something with my rp partner if their character isn’t from the Ouran canon. Especially since Ouran isn’t exactly an active fandom, i plan on making plenty of different possible Aus for Tamaki to make him more accessible for crossovers!

SHIPPING & PLOTTING & MAINS & NSFW

When it comes to shipping, I have been often times described as a shipping hoarder. I am also someone who can see a potential ship quite easily. However, I’m still a fan of chemistry between characters. I am of course always willing to hear someone out of they think there is a chance that a ship can be formed, however this does not give anyone the right to push their muse onto me or Tamaki. Please respect this. If I think the ship feels forced in any regard there is a good chance I will drop it.

Plotting is a team effort, no one person should be expected to come up with the entirety of any plot. With that being said, if you approach me for plotting, or like a plotting call, please be prepared to actively engage with me and work with me to try and come up with something for our characters. If it seems like you are unwilling to actively help me out then there is a good chance that I will lose interest and give up altogether.

If you are an ORIGINAL CHARACTER looking to interact with me I am totally game! The only thing I ask is that you have at least some sort of about page so I can read up on your character, or be willing to answer any and all questions I may have about your character.

When it comes to nsfw content such as roleplaying out a sex scene it goes without saying that I will only write such things with someone who is 18+, even then I rarely ever write out sex scenes. This is honestly because I feel uncomfortable and am never satisfied with my writing. However I do still write it from time to time with people I know ooc and am comfortable with and those threads will be tagged.

Another added note about NSFW content is that there will be no sex scenes happening within Tamaki’s main verse because he is still a minor by U.S. Standards and since that is where I live I’m going to abide by that law. HOWEVER. I have verses where Tamaki is over 18 and am more than willing to discuss such things in those verses, though like i said before I rarely ever write sex scenes to begin with.

I rarely do exclusives, the reason being that every time I was involved exclusively with someone it went to shit and only caused problems and unneeded drama. I will however take on mains and all that means is that muse permitting those people will have priority, along with having to deal with my ass sending them songs, feels, memes and writing them random starters from time to time.My current mains can be found in the next tab over titled 'mains’.OOC DRAMA

I am not a fan of OOC Drama, i’ve seen my fair share of it and i’m just not a fan. With that being said, I want to be left out of it. Whatever the drama is, just leave me out of it all. I’m not a fan of callout posts in almost every capacity. I think they are beyond childish, and scream ‘high school drama bullshit’, like it’ a goddamn burn book and no one needs that shit okay? Dragging your personal beef with someone like that is just.. -deep breath- my point is, I don’t like it.

Obviously i’m not a fan of anon hate, and I won’t tolerate it on this blog at all. You can expect them to be blocked immediately. I am here to have fun writing a character that I love with all my heart, and i’m not about to let tumblr’s toxic nature ruin that for me. So please if you have a problem with the way I run my blog then just unfollow me, or even block me if you have to. I’ll do what is good for me, and you do what is good for you.

Also, don’t warn me about people. I know you probably think you are just doing something nice and looking out for people. But more often than not, you are just putting me in a really uncomfortable position that I don’t want to be in. So do yourself a favor and just.. Don’t.

MISCELLANEOUS

For the most part I am a relatively laid back person, I love to chat with my roleplay partners OOC, because a lot of time that helps me get to know them and it just helps for world building and creating something truly amazing together. With that being said, if we are writing together, especially if we have a ship.. I can be a babbler. I tend to get excited about ships and the things we plan to do and i love talking headcanons and ‘what ifs’ situations that can be created into plots. If this is something that bothers you, or you aren’t a fan of it? Tell me up front. If it’s the case then I’ll refrain to a pace that you are more comfortable with. I say this because if you say you are okay with it, and then proceed to.. give me short answers and make me feel like you aren’t interested, I will probably drop the ship because my anxiety can’t handle that.

Another thing to keep in mind, I have anxieties myself. Sometimes I don’t click with people as easily as I do others and that’s okay! However please remember that I’m occasionally busy and I may not always be around and on my computer. Sometimes I am forgetful, especially with the tumblr IMs system. However please please don’t spam me there with questions of like ‘did i do something wrong?’ or ‘ am i annoying you?’ etc. this makes me extremely uncomfortable and make me more likely to just nore reply at all as horrible as it sounds, but anxiety is a bitch and no one is perfect.

When it comes to following blogs, I do my best to look over new followers in a timely manner and a lot goes into my decision on whether or not I’ll follow a blog back. Please keep in mind that I obviously can’t follow everyone back because that would make my blog way too fast pace and I can’t have that.

Okay, l will try to make this short. I was in a car accident in October 2008, my car was totaled and it was not my fault. Since the accident I have had one xray, two CAT scans, five MRIs, three cervical injections, one EMG, a discogram and been in physical therapy for 7 months three times a week. Originally I was told from the MRI, I had one herniation in my neck, three bulging discs in my neck and one bulging disc in my lower back, a back sprain, painful muscles spasms, and nerve damages in my arms, hands and left leg. During the discogram (which is very painful but soooo beneficial) it was discovered I have three very bad herinations just in my neck (not mentioning that one in my back, laying on my nerve) that are beyond repair. In conclusion, I will have to have a three level disc fusion in order to repair and even then will never be back to normal I have been told I have been through h*ll because of this accident. My airway punctured and filled with blood during the last procedure causing my to have trouble breathing and chest pain that I am still having! I can barely function at times. I am 29 years old with three children. I used to be active, loved to cook and garden. I am barely able to get off the couch. It is depressing. My 12 year old daughter recently said, you are different person now

Ok, so this is a little complicated... Oct 2008 I had a car accident. My car was written off. My car was towed to a garage and was held there while the insurance company evaluated the damage. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW MY CAR. Because the size of my excess (800) and the amount of damage matched the value of the car (800) I was advised it would be pointless to claim on the insurance and it was written off. Many folks just like you living either in Europe or Canada are paying much less in health care than us Americans. It was just a week ago I went to shop for dentist. In four different dentists each dentist give me a different quote, different prices when ALL of the services where the same. Something is wrong in this picture. A very quick intro now to the next Bass Music mix, by Bristol fixtures The Kelly Twins.  I genuinely rate these guys as two of the best DJ’s in Bristol – they have such deep record collections and good selection that you can watch them play in any situation, after any DJ, at any time and they’ll still smack it.  As you’ll see from the mix, which takes you from super deep house to dubstep in one smooth movement.  No mixcloud as they still have a 100MB limit and this is a luxurious 1 hour 50 minutes.  But you can stream and download from the player below.  Tracklist at the bottom.

Tell us a brief bit about who yous are n that, how you got into DJing.

We are the Kelly twins, (our surname is Kelly and we are actual twins), We have been DJing together for the best part of twelve years and pride ourselves on playing across the board, drawing influence from the past as well as the present and only ever playing things that we genuinely like. Since moving to Bristol from Plymouth seven years ago, we have played at a wide variety of nights and held down several residencies. At present we run our own club night which is called UFO, we are part of team Crazylegs, residents for the Bristol wing of RnB mecca So Bones and members of the Idle Hands family.

During the day, i (Sean) can be found behind the counter in the Idle Hands shop and work as a freelance writer for various publications including Trap magazine. My brother (Dan) is Bristol’s most cosmic purveyor of artisan foods and also finds the time to be an amazing dad to his little boy.

Music is more than just a hobby to us, it is something that we have been around since a very young age, our parents weren’t famous musicians and they couldn’t play any musical instruments, but they were both music lovers. Our dad was involved in the rave scene back in the day, so the music, the people and the culture was something that we were very accustomed to and intrigued by, We got our first set of decks at fourteen and gained our first residency when we were just 16, its something that we have been almost obsessively into ever since. What is the idea behind the mix – and what are your thoughts in general about putting mixes together, do you have an ethos etc.? Anything you hate in mixes?

The mix was recorded to promote the Idle Hands room at the forthcoming Hessle Audio party for Bristol Inmotion. Prior to recording it, we considered the possibility of doing a laptop/ableton mix then realised that we didn’t actually know how to do that. So instead we did what we do best, turn up with a bag of records and wing it. The mix was recorded live and in one take, its starts at 107 bpm and ends on 140 bpm, it is an hour and fifty minutes long and features unreleased material from artists that we respect, including Outboxx, Behling, Hackman, October & Borai, Atki2. It is a true representation of what we do as DJs and reflects exactly where we are at musically.

Society in general is becoming increasingly dehumanised, automated telephone lines, self service checkouts have become the norm. When it comes to mixes, we like to know that an actual person has recorded it, not a machine.

A quick nudge of the record, a mix that wavers slightly, a crackly, dusty old record might be mistakes to some people, but for us, these things add a certain amount charm and some much needed honesty to a mix. As things become more and more digitised and superficial, we feel that this human touch is more important than ever.

You and your bro are known for being tight DJs on the Bristol circuit. Of the many ‘big names’ you’ve played with, who has stood out to you?

We try not to get too sucked into the whole hype thing and tend to take every DJ at face value, regardless of their status. For us its not so much about how ‘big’ the DJ is, it’s more about what they play and how they play it. Some DJs, however are truly worthy of their hype.

Jackmaster always smashes it, as does Ben UFO. Both are technically amazing and know how to work a crowd but more importantly for us they always bring a real varied selection and aren’t afraid to take risks.

A few other artists that have seriously impressed us over the last few years are Funkineven, Actress and Kyle Hall, all three have developed very unique styles of their own, their tunes are instantly recognisable and even as their reputations build they remain uncompromising with what they do. We really respect that.

Some of our favourite DJs to play alongside and some of the DJs that have made us dance the most are local Bristol guys, most of them our friends. Idle Hands bossman Chris Farrell always plays a killer selection as do Kowton, October and EFA. We love hearing music we haven’t heard before, so DJs like Andy Payback, vast & Bulbous and the Falling Up crew always stand out for us because watching them play is an education.

We would much rather be sat in a pub watching those guys play to us and the bar staff, than in a packed club watching that months hype DJ playing tunes we have heard a million times before. We can appreciate why people do like that, it’s just not our thing.

How do you feel about the Bristol scene at the moment – healthy? In a state of flux as dubstep waxes and wanes?

Coming from Plymouth which doesn’t really have a music scene, we are still very much excited by Bristol. It’s positivity and diversity is something that we continue to be very appreciative of. So for us the Bristol scene has always been healthy.

It has changed a lot since we have been here, in our opinion for the better. Clubbers are more open to a wider variety of sounds now. There are dubstep DJs playing house, disco and boogie and house DJs playing garage ect. The boundaries between genres are becoming increasingly blurred, for eclectic DJs such as ourselves these are interesting and exciting times.

Wrongspeed. Talk to me.

Wrongspeed originally came about through a combination of mistakes and getting massively blazed. The idea is to literally play the record at the wrong speed. When things are pitched down and stretched out, there is more space in the tune so every sound is exposed. For a record to sound good on 33 when it should be 45 and visa versa, the tune itself must be exceptionally produced.

The way in which certain tracks when pitched up or down, can take on a completely different vibe and atmosphere is fascinating to us and it’s something we have been working into our sets more and more. The next time anyone buys a record, we urge them to give it a go. The results might surprise you.

How long would it take you to eat a yard of Jaffa cakes?

My housemate bought me a yard of Jaffa cakes the other day (Thanks Shanti), it has taken me about 5 days to finish them. Although if there was money on the table, i reckon i could polish them off in an hour. What is your favourite example of Farrellian Rage? Is the Farrellian Rage an occupational hazard of working in Idle Hands, and how do you deal with it – the tortoise-like neck-retraction? Or a cunning bit of filing… Chris is my boss but also a friend who i have known for many years. I have had some pretty shady jobs and as bosses go, he is definitely one of the best. But like all of us, he can have his stressed out moments. I find the best thing to do when Chris is in a rage is to put some reggae on and buy him a can of rubicon, half an hour later and everything will be sweet.

My favourite example of Farrellian rage did not involve any shouting or swearing, in fact Chris didn’t say a word.

It’s monday morning, we are both feeling slightly fragile after the weekends activities when a tie dye wearing trustafarian takes up residence on the wall opposite the shop and starts self indulgently banging away on his bongo with absolutely no sense of rhythm. Chris emerges from the office and stands in the entrance of the shop, he stares directly into the bongo players eyes and shoots him a look of utter contempt. Within about two minutes, the playing stopped and the guy left, never to be seen again. Chris’s eyes at that moment said more than a thousand words ever could.

What is biscuit face? Also when are you going to ride that bike you bought off a crackhead?

Biscuit Face is an old friend and an integral part of the UFO crew. He doesn’t come out that often because his face is literally a giant biscuit, his eyes are exclamation marks and he eats CDs for breakfast. Sometimes he can get a bit crumbly around groups of people and overcompensates by being obnoxious and leaving small pieces of himself on their bedsheets. He is a liability, but we love him..

I try not to feel too bad about buying the bike from a crackhead, i managed to get a proper bargain but didn’t quite give him enough to buy any drugs with. Im waiting until i have some stabilisers and a basket for the front until i start riding it. Probably best to give it a new paint job too. Shout outs, disses, ways for shorty’s to contact you?

Greetings readers far and near.  I am so enthused to write to you today as my life has been up and down, round and round, through the wire, through the turbulence of the storm. And yet, I am still here so thanks are always needed before I embark on peeling away the past month. Thank you almighty powers around us keeping us humble, yet divine and ever changing however grounded in our being.

I am going to start off by speaking about Nameda.

Nameda is an International Holistic Self Development Organisation. We are 12 individuals from around Europe being funded by the E.U. through Erasmus Plus to develop a programme catered to young people to help them develop skills and further uplift themselves and their communities.

Projects like this help me get up in the morning and feel like there may actually be some hope in the world.  

I am a part of the London Team, our motive is to liberate through movement. Yoga, Dance, Capoeira and Forum Theatre are our skills. You can call us KULA ROOTS COLLECTIVE!!!

Saara and I have been doing workshops in London and Andrea (Capoeira) does sound healing sessions around the city. Lauren runs workshops with young people in theatre skills and forum theatre along with just finishing her MA at Goldsmiths.  We are an awesome group of people if I don’t say so my self. 

The groups in Nameda have different motives or practices. There is the Movement Team, Art Team, Social Entrepreneurship Team and Nature Team. Spanning between four countries: Spain, England, Germany and Canary Islands. We meet once every four months or something and take each other through the ropes of our practice. 

We last met in Berlin, where we got taken through the Art Teams workshops. We have no clue about what we are actually doing but we do know that we are creating something for people to experience true human connections and empowerment. We are inviting self critical observations to stimulate self growth to help change perceptions and up skill people to deal with the struggles of making life in a very difficult world. So far it is going really well and due to our openness to each other and our on going reflection of all our activities and the serious honesty and devotion we have to the process some amazing findings keep coming out. From our conversations comes realisations of things professionals have been saying about humanity but as a whole our Governments haven’t really put into practice. 

For example the fact we all learn differently. We came to this by the means of a partner sculpture exercise where we could only communicate non-verbally whilst building the sculpture.  So you may go in having an idea of the outcome you want but at some point you’ll have to let go of that idea and compromise collaboratively with what your partner is doing. You know you have to make something together and that is the bottom line so you work together towards making something you are both satisfied with. So many thoughts and judgements of this sculpture may come but again we learn to let go. Well that was my experience in learning however that only calls for 1% of people’s experience. Another experience is that you didn’t really learn anything as you have had to do that kind of letting go and working without speaking before or you simply were not that engaged by this exercise. I am a massive geek when it comes to analysis of learning and how we learn so I loved this experience. Things im learning personally is to value other’s processes. In the past I have been so impatient with other’s processes, whether it’s getting them out of depression or dealing with anxiety or how to just get up and do the thing they love. I get so annoyed at people who find it difficult to be the version of themselves they want to be. Doing Nameda is helping me to understand other people’s struggles with themselves.

This brings me to the mental health subject we discussed as part of Elevate Young Minds. On the 22nd of September I performed a short version of my solo at Leeds Beckett University. Before that I was on a panel talking about mental health and artistic practice. I stumbled on my artistic practice as cathartic when I was 8 and I never turned back since. Rain sleet or snow my cd player was on, I was listening to music and dancing so I didn’t have to think about how much financial problems were making my family sad. A lot of people have not found that process for themselves yet and to tell the truth some days even that isn’t enough as the sadness still comes, and some days you feel devalued so you don’t even feel like dancing or writing or singing or beat-boxing so you shout at a mirror or talk to your self or God about the depth of this struggle and how much you’re trying and pleading for help. Struggle never leaves it just changes, as there always needs to be resistance in life. The question and answer is always how you decide to deal with it sometimes it’s a healthy reaction like taking up meditation or yoga or dance. Other times its not so healthy like over eating, over drinking or other self-destructive paths.

It was a honour to be on the panel for Elevate Young Minds and talk about my experience finding my art and seeing it as my medicine. Then to perform my solo show for a really intimate crowd was so sweet.

Later that day we had a Snakebox gig as well. I was basically throwing money at Uber as I was bopping around Leeds like a ping pong ball at a fresher party. If you get that reference BIG UP! If you don’t, then become a teenage drinking boozie student. Lol I am not but I’ve lived that life.

Seriously I really do, not because I am a co-director/performer/creator in Snakebox but because I love Otis Jones. He is basically super cool to work with; he challenges everything I say just like Saara. I am learning that it’s the people that challenge us that are interesting because they help us grow and create something innovative as they force us to think in a different dimension. Otis is also a super cool and supportive friend, I have been staying at his house when I swing over to Leeds as my mum is trying to rent out my room. (Yes that’s an ad)

The next day was LIVE IN THE HIVE FESTIVAL @Hyde Park Book Club. This was awesome some old faces and new faces congregated to support the guys make this festival happen.  Snakebox set was pretty funny, I kept forgetting songs but as usual I was actually ling and just playing on the feeling of the unknown. I KNOW I AM SILLY.

At Kula Roots we did our first series of Movement Elements. A movement immersion workshop of creative and safe, body and mind exploration. We had a great time. 

We run regular sessions to bring ritual and movement in the urban environment. Our next session is on Saturday November 25th. The theme is Dream & Connect. 

 Last performances of Windows Of Displacement were Civic Barnsley and ZArts in Manchester. 

Well at Civic Barnsley I had 6 people in the audience. They were super responsive and I felt everyone’s attention finely focussed on my every word and move. So the two downfalls on this performance were the marketing on Civi side and on mine I guess. Come on I have to take some blame. Plus Barnsley is a tough city in terms of the arts or so I have been told. He thought until he got to Manchester……….

Zarts STUN: Sustained Theatre Up North OMG!!!! Promotion was on point, not only did I feel their online presence and worked with it but their physical promotion was on point. They had flyers all over the city and a massive poster outside the building. We had a full theatre and again I felt the audience’s attention fully focussed on my every word and movement. They were super responsive, singing the songs and stayed behind, some of them and had really nice conversations.

Essentially, the most important thing I learned from The Civic experience is actually how good I must be at what I do. I had an audience of 6 and yet I STILL gave them my all as if it was a full house. I could never imagine my self doing that. It is the role models I’ve had and teachers who have shown me an absolute devotion to their art and their students that makes me feel this devotion to give my audience all of myself in a performance regardless of what is happening.

Through that programme I have managed to find my self at interesting events. One of these interesting events was today in Central London, called Young Kings Lunch at the ICA building. This was a cool event, super dope. It was being hosted by GUAP at the ICA building.

The afternoon started off with a viewing of some films produced through the ICA, Random Acts and other UK production houses. My film ‘Galvanize’ was shown in the selection.  

We moved upstairs into a meeting space and began to introduce ourselves to each other, followed by an introduction to GUAP. We then had an insightful, resonant and inspiring testimony from the head of Marketing Nike Running campaign. I can’t remember his name and I don’t want to spell it wrong so …..

Actually I remember, his name is Kye.

Long story short he never went the traditional route to get himself where he is. It took him guts, will and great guidance to cater to an ever-shifting perception of his identity.  Remembering who you are in yourself as you without any labels or any masks, having integrity. That gets you really far in life. Not for any material gain but for sense of self and meaning.  

He was the head of Nike’s marketing for the World Cup in Brazil and in South Africa. The experience of different cultures and the way in which his identity was questioned and denied from his power was very testing. His rise to his position is from his own grit and determination and devotion to a way of doing things as you learn. Or should I say learning as you do? It was so fascinating to listen to him.

We then had representatives from Sony speak to us about CV’s, Interview and Networking skills. It was awesome.  I really appreciate any opportunity to learn more and take more steps closer to being able to manifest the world you’re creatively instigating. They definitely reminded me of some stuff I needed to pull up on.

The food was great and the inspirational fire is fed. So many incredible stories shared with a group of inspiring men. I feel so grateful. Big Up!!!

I feel really fed and supported due to the experiences ive embarked on. This isn’t everyday though as this month I have also felt super tested. We brake our backs to do what we think is right and we have learned to always expect or for see a fee for our deeds. I am learning we have to let go off this preconception because expectation is a paralyser. It stops us from really living and giving in that moment. 

This is a good thing though because especially being a performer my ego may get build up here and there. Then to experience being in workshops with people who have been threw so much that the company of an artist isn’t really that big of a deal to them so they pass in and out of whatever space you are holding. This challenges the worth you feel in your work however a moment happens where an individual in the workshop comes over and begins to talk to you like he knows you and he shares something of his reality with you. He tells me about his foster parents, this I didn’t see as something powerful when it happened but after wards I realised that he didn’t have to talk to me about this stuff but he did. 

Anyways its time I depart Pancakes and Bananas are calling. Love to all !!!!
