Zombie apocalypse face au I've been thinking of...

Thoughts/details on the AU and an alt color vers of the first drawing (luring you into my evil cave) ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Face as unrelated parties... All normal humans. Caname and fruk (separately) wandering the world after generic zombie outbreak. Theyre some of the last ones left so they rarely meet people and need to depend on the other party heavily. Blahblah its miserable everyone is sad and hurt and tired. Francis had to cut off Arthurs leg to prevent an infection. Arthur has to learn to lean on Francis for a lot of stuff and they learn to get over past grudges and such... 😇 Alfred is bitten at some point and hides it from Matthew. Matthew knows, but he's basically lost any will to live and is ready to die whenever Alfred turns because. Well. "I'm only living for him anyways..." type of sentiment... They ignore it and it's never brought up but it's like. I know you know that I know that- Anyways. So those two are trying their hardest to live out their last days in relative happiness. Doing fun stuff. Appreciating the simple things, landscapes, each other's company, etc... That is until they bump into Francis and Arthur in a totally horrible state. And it's like "Well... We can't just let them die can we? We have nothing to lose anyways." So they watch over the two and care for them and once they're all in okay health they decide to stick together and move on. But Arthur and Francis are clearly more determined to live than Mattie and Alfred and they're good fighters. So they wanna keep em around, all while hiding that Alfred is slowly dying and is eventually gonna kill them all. Milking Francis and Arthur's good will... Eventually new relationships form between the four and inevitably weird "betrayal!" and jealousy type feelings show up... Francis is tired of just sleeping with Arthur and when he gets mad he flirts with either of the twins... And the like... Well I haven't thought the whole thing through but these are the important emotional bases to the idea I guess...

I wrote a scenario for many different possibilities of first-to-dies (because i find them all interesting and bcuz twitter oomf asked and i have no restraint. lole)

Alfred dies first: Most obvious scenario (like hes already a bit zombified and clearly hes getting physically weaker) Im imagining a terrible scenario no matter what. Matthew probably finds him first all hunched over and stuff womdering whats wrong before realising that it's finally the end of the line. Francis/Arthur aren't far behind and they blow "Alfreds" head off without hesitation. Obviously causes a rift between the two and Matthew, who broke their trust by hiding this from them. Matthew is inconsolable for a few days, he thought he had more time. Despite the lie I think Francis and Arthur would end up feeling sympathy. They try to keep Matthew up on his feet but frankly I think this would end with him blowing his brains out eventually anyways... 😊

Alternatively Mattie has been mentally preparing himself for a very long time and he immediately kills "Alfred" and then himself in quick succession. Francis and Arthur are haunted by the memory of the two for the rest of their trip.

Arthur dies first: Similarly, I think its easy to imagine this. He's missing a leg and mostly needs to be near someone else to survive zombie attacks/ambushes. Would probably accidentally get separated from the group and get overrun... Might use himself as a distraction to allow the other three to get away in a particularly dire situation... In a way he thinks hes just dead weight anyways and he wants to see the other three live knowing that he doesn't have much left to offer them (Francis would disagree). Francis is obviously very upset and he loses sleep over the memory of Arthur, his last "real" link to his normal life before all of this. But I think Francis is stable enough to prioritise the twins he took under his wing. He knows they need someone to keep them together, so he toughs it out. Everything is fine till Alfred turns some many months later. By then, Francis developed a strong attachment to the two and doesn't have any regrets. Would probably struggle against Alfreds strength to allow Matthew to escape or something along those lines...

Francis dies first: I can also see him just getting killed by sheer numbers. I think he grew very fond of the twins pretty fast + had to be Arthurs protection for a long time and so he developed this feeling of "I need to keep them all safe at all costs". I don't think itd be as much of a letting go type thing as Arthur. It's more calculated and would only happen in a worst-case scenario. I think Arthur would be pretty irritable for the next few weeks, a lot of things remind him of Francis. It bothers him since he wants to just forget and move on, but he finds that his feelings are more difficult to control than he initially thought. Yells a lot at Matthew and Alfred and gets into petty fights. Its not pretty, but they have their moments... In the end, it's not like he wants to make them suffer. They're all he has left now. Hes trying his best. Has a lot of days where he just wishes he had been the one to die instead.

Matthew dies first: Honestly I'm imagining a non-zombie related death, like an accident with one of the guns or some unrelated illness or like. Falling onto a branch? Falling from high up in general? Setting off a trap? Lol idk. Something that allows Alfred to hold Matthew during his final moments or at least look into his eyes. I think hes also the most liable to flip out on everyone and just kill the four of them all together idk ❤ Crazy girl ❤ It shocks Alfred immensely. He expected to be the first one to die and he's really upset about the whole thing. Outwardly, he cracks jokes and tries to convince the other two that he's fine but he's very much not. Doesn't really know what tk do with himself. Just goes through the motions every day. Francis and Arthur notice the slight change in behaviour but don't really say anything and pretend everything is fine. Playing at being a normal family. Arthur and Francis try spending lots of time with Alfred but nothing really helps. Eventually Alfred turns without ever telling them he was infected and they all die the end. Alternatively he kills the other two and then himself on like a random Tuesday. ❤

Bonus: Everyone except Alfred dies lol. Alone in the desolate empty landscape. Welp!!! What now!!!

I’m I the only one that thinks that carats who only use twitter and newer stans have WAY more different opinions in general and higher standards??

Like, this may sound so dumb but whenever they are criticizing something about svt, most of them compare it to other groups, for example, saying things like “why can’t they do this like so and so” “why is pledis not doing this like so and so’s company” “I’m not gagging, it feels boring” “I looked at svt’s concept photos and sighed” like ?????

Why are they being so critical about it??? It’s one thing to say “Oh it wasn’t to my liking” or “I see it but it looks simple to me” instead of completely bashing the group and company and being so mean about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like pledis either and I know they’ve made so many shitty decisions since before svt debuted but also I’ve been a kpop stan for more than a decade and I know, like many other stans, how those companies work, we know how comebacks work, it’s not great and it might never be.

Not one single company OR group is prefect.

So I really don’t get the hate for this comeback’s concept considering it’s the last one that it’s OT13 in who knows how long.

And that’s why I’m feeling so old because yes BACK IN THE DAY we had nothing like what we have today, back in they having 2 ver. of an album was already big, different versions and whole different designs of the albums not just a change of color was so cool, having like 300+ variations of photocards was WILD. And also having them available?? Being able to buy not just on the internet but in our own countries when back in the day the only option was buying from South Korea??? Like kpop in general has come so far and I feel like SOME stans are just too greedy and ungrateful.

my thing about izaya is that he's so strange and weird and i love that so much. i didn't want to ramble too much in the notes of that poor person's post but i find the way he speaks and the words he chooses so interesting so let me ramble a little bit. this may or may not even be coherent so bear with me here im just going to speak my thoughts.

ok this got really fucking long and all over the 0place so im putting this under a read more sorry.

so i have volume 9 of the novel in both english and japanese. i only have two novels in japanese and that is this one and yuuyake wo. so i'm pretty crazy about this izaya speech analysis shit. anyways i was rereading thru the jp ver the other day just to compare it to the eng and i kinda realized that like.

a lot of people you can separate their speech in either formal and informal speech right? someone like shizuo speaks really informally and uses a lot of rough, dragged-out versions of words and stuff (しゃーねえ vs しょうがない) and then someone like shinra who speaks in a ton of yojijukugo and generally sounds like a nerd emoji gijinka.

izaya on the other hand rly... doesn't fit in either? i mean sure he sounds like another nerd emoji gijinka but it's kinda different. it's not so much the words he speaks but rather the intonation and his tone...

and he has his moments where he speaks pretty seriously and whatnot of course, but in general he just... doesn't sound very human when he speaks? i don't know if that's a conscious effort or not. is it his attempts at distancing himself from his own individual humanity? or is it just because he's a weird guy? i dunno. but it's interesting nonetheless.

one thing i will note though is that despite his somewhat inhuman speech patterns, it's also pretty...dramatic? to the extent where it's really exaggerated but also very cute and charming. (this part is important.)

i think a lot of what makes izaya's speech so weirdly inhuman is because he doesn't really use a lot of slang or similar lingo that people his age would typically use. i know mikado said in the novels that he doesn't really try to fit in with his age group's fashion sense either so it makes sense but still. he's like an old hag it's so funny. and it's because of that that when he says stuff like 'i don't get all hot and heavy over headless women' or whatever he said to celty it's really amusing to me because like... why is the strange man saying this?💀

another example i kinda giggled about on my twitter when i read it it's not even crazy and i sound corny and cheesy and stupid but theres this scene in vol 9 where izaya messages celty for business and hold on let me just put it as a quote.

he sounds so old saying 'video game' like 😭 idk it's just funny cause he barely even knows anything abt games like bro knows nothing im crying

in the jp hes like 「…ゲーム中なのかい？」 and then when celty tries to explain herself he says 「何を言ってるのか、良く解らないんだけど」 and im rly bad at tling parts of sentences and stuff but just know that the way he words it makes it sound like this gif to me

i love both versions i think the original jp makes him sound like hes so lost and confused (hence why pw gif cause lord that man always looks lost LMFAOOOO) and then eng tl just blunt ass "I don't know what you're talking about." makes him sound like full on hag 😭😭😭

OMFG WAIT I HAVE TO MENTION THIS FUCKING SCENE WITH SHINRA ITS SO FUNNY.

first i think it's funny the translation has izaya say fuck here cause he very rarely swears and i did read this one thing about how he only swears when his mask slips so to me this is like genuine bewilderment that he cant even hide LOL. second why is he so excited to hear about 'whatever sexual fetish' shinra has im crying he's so damn nosy . okay but this is not the funniest part let me add that now.

ehy the hell is izaya orihara talking about foot fetishes???😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 im crying bruh i was so flabbergasted when i read this i was like WHAT did he just say? he says it in the jp ver too which just makes it even funnier. this goes back to what i said earlier but i always get so amused when izaya has something to say about sex or whatever cause he's so fucking weird and unsettling why does he know that

oh also another scene i think is really cute and amusing and funny is back when shinra was first still trying to get izaya to form the bio club w him.

1. shinra is funny as fuck in this scene but also izaya's "Hmm. Can I punch you?" made me havbe a good laugh. in the jp he says 「んー。殴ってもいいのかな？」 which is pretty much the same thing just with the intonation of like 'hmmmmmmmmm should i hit u or not...' sorry like i said im just bad w explaining this stuff. but i felt the need to point it out not cause im one of those annoying ppl who praise the original jp ver and reject translations and localizations i just think it's important for izaya specifically cause i love him and i want to analyze his speech patterns as best as i can.

i was going thru the novel just now for other stuff i wanted to mention and i forgot abt this part but it's so funny.

'Let's not get hasty. Type calmly, please.' its not even funny or nothing i just find it so amusinf whenever he talks like that💀 i will say though the english translation kind of makes him sound more weird and inhuman than the original. that line in the original was basically just him telling her she needs to calm down enough to at least type properly LOL. idk if im just being nitpicky cause this is izaya tho so feel free to ignore that. fwiw i like the eng tl bc while it's a different intonation than the original japanese ver i think if he did speak english it would probably sound smth like that anyways.

this too made me laugh like ??? seriously he is really nosy when it comes to people's intimate affairs. in the jp ver he calls them an 'intimate couple' which just is like .. ok bro💀

does anyone else see my vision of izaya getting cucked by celty (does it count as cucking when celtys the one dating shinra) while he looks sad and pathetic and miserable that he never decided to shoot his shot w shinra back in the day

if i were commenting on the actual stuff going on in this scene rn this post would be a lot olonger and even more terribly all over the place so im just gonna focus on how i think it's funny izaya says 'easy, man...' this is like one of the only times his words are somewhat natural and sound like smth you would hear someone else say. in the jp ver it's 「おいおい���」 which is somewhat less out of left field in terms of coming from izaya but still it's pretty surprisingly normal. i have to wonder if in that moment he's too worried about shinra to care about keeping up appearances.

this is just random and me making fun of izaya as usual but why the hell does he weigh himself after his showers💀💀💀 it's cute and endearing and only adds to his strong gap moe but still... it's strange...

speaking of cute things this is from a volume i forget but he says this one phrase a couple of times and it is just both really cute and also kind of idk... saddening. one of the times i can remember he says it is when namie was making fun of him or something and he replies 'Don't tease me. I'm only human.' or something along those lines and it's like . hm. ok.

i think it's cute he says 'dont tease me' a few times cause eughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (trying to ward off severe brain damaged incoherent thoughts) but 'im only human' is like... are you really? even after you try so hard to escape your own humanity and individual self so much... im going to try and give my thoughts on it here but this is just based off my hc that izaya has bpd so yanno. im basing a lot oif this on my own experiences sorry. i do that a lot. (gestures over to all the posts i make abt fob/mychem fan izaya)

when it comes to just straight up acknowledging his humanity izaya has no problems with this because 'sure, i'm human. isn't that obvious?' is probably something along the lines of what he thinks. it's easy for him to just say that because it's just that. it's just words. it holds no real meaning and shows no true insight into how he actually perceives himself. but when it comes to actually having to come face to face with his own humanity and the fact that yes, he is only human, it's a lot more difficult because now it's out of his control. i wonder also if he has problems with perceiving his own self.

i say this a lot but i truly do believe izaya is so so so beautiful and i love him so much. also i just saw a funny post on twitter so i wanna say this here idk if yall know this but izayas actually a latina hes got chismosavirus❤ ok thats all i have to say sorry for rambling so much

Thank you so much Qsmp, the creators, the admins & ex-admins/other people who helped work on it and many, and also thank you yo the wonderful community!

I’ve been watching qsmp since the very first day and joined Tumblr/qsmpblr in July! It is something that I definitely do not regret at all! It’s changed my life, made me laugh, cry and find comfort during my sad times.

I learned about and started watching so many amazing creators from different languages because of qsmp! Not to mention I met so many amazing people here on Tumblr that I never would have met because of this server! This server made me want to learn Spanish, re-learned French and learn more and celebrate different cultures.

I’m very sad that it’s ending it especially ending so soon… but I’m glad theses creators are playing games with each other and talking to each other outside of the server. AND the fact that theses creators would have never even met because of qsmp is FUCKING CRAZY!

Again I’m going to miss the server so much but I will never forgot the memories we made. We’ve had good and bad moments in the community but we sure pushed through it! (Which is another reason I’m glad I joined Tumblr and not Twitter lmao)

To the admins if you’re reading this:

Thank you so much again to the amazing admins who helped the server and helped make this server something truly wonderful! You deserve most if not all the credit for your work on this project! You all deserve a long rest after all the great work you’ve done! :)

Je regarde qsmp depuis le tout premier jour et j'ai rejoint Tumblr/qsmpblr en juillet ! C’est quelque chose que je ne regrette absolument pas du tout ! Cela a changé ma vie, m’a fait rire, pleurer et trouver du réconfort dans mes moments tristes.

J'ai découvert et commencé à regarder tant de créateurs incroyables de différentes langues grâce à qsmp ! Sans oublier que j'ai rencontré tellement de gens extraordinaires ici sur Tumblr que je n'aurais jamais rencontré à cause de ce serveur ! Ce serveur m'a donné envie d'apprendre l'espagnol, de réapprendre le français et d'en apprendre davantage et de célébrer différentes cultures.

Je suis très triste que cela se termine, surtout si tôt… mais je suis heureux que ces créateurs jouent à des jeux entre eux et se parlent en dehors du serveur. ET le fait que ces créateurs ne se seraient jamais rencontrés à cause de qsmp est FUCKING FOLLE !

Encore une fois, le serveur va beaucoup me manquer mais je n'oublierai jamais les souvenirs que nous avons créés. Nous avons vécu de bons et de mauvais moments dans la communauté, mais nous avons réussi à nous en sortir ! (C'est une autre raison pour laquelle je suis content d'avoir rejoint Tumblr et non Twitter lmao)

Vielen Dank an Qsmp, die Ersteller, die Administratoren und ehemaligen Administratoren/anderen Leute, die bei der Arbeit daran mitgeholfen haben, und vielen Dank auch an die wunderbare Community!

Ich schaue qsmp seit dem ersten Tag und bin im Juli Tumblr/qsmpblr beigetreten! Das ist etwas, was ich auf keinen Fall bereue! Es hat mein Leben verändert, mich zum Lachen und Weinen gebracht und mir in meinen traurigen Zeiten Trost gegeben.

Dank qsmp habe ich so viele tolle YouTuber aus verschiedenen Sprachen kennengelernt und angefangen, sie anzuschauen! Ganz zu schweigen davon, dass ich hier auf Tumblr so viele tolle Leute kennengelernt habe, die ich aufgrund dieses Servers nie getroffen hätte! Dieser Server hat in mir den Wunsch geweckt, Spanisch zu lernen, Französisch neu zu lernen und mehr zu lernen und verschiedene Kulturen zu feiern.

Ich bin sehr traurig, dass es zu Ende geht, vor allem, dass es so bald endet … aber ich bin froh, dass diese Schöpfer miteinander spielen und außerhalb des Servers miteinander reden. UND die Tatsache, dass sich diese Schöpfer dank qsmp nie kennengelernt hätten, ist VERDAMMT VERRÜCKT!

Auch hier werde ich den Server so sehr vermissen, aber ich werde die Erinnerungen, die wir gemacht haben, nie vergessen. Wir hatten gute und schlechte Momente in der Community, aber wir haben es auf jeden Fall geschafft! (Das ist ein weiterer Grund, warum ich froh bin, dass ich Tumblr beigetreten bin und nicht Twitter lmao)

hii I've followed your wc ramblings on Twitter for a while, and I have a burning question that's been bothering me. So, when Pinestar abandoned his clan, Sunstar only gets 8 lives. Makes sense. Brambleclaw steps down and leader and squirrelstar presumably gets 9 lives? Why? Is it because bramble is a special boy? Is it because he didn't leave the clan? I need to know what you think on this topic. Thank you for your time I love your content.

Hi thank you im glad you like my WC ramblings! I really like picking apart and analyzing the story, its quite fun :)

anyways i do have some thoughts on this! Leader lives and all that. A quick disclaimer is the leader lives thing is frustratingly inconsistent, so i'm theorizing on a bunch of wet spaghetti, bear with me X)

i put this under a cut cause it got so freaking long sooo text wall warning!

First of all we don't really know Squirrelstar's lives situation, nor do we know exactly how many lives Bramble had left when he abdicated, so it's hard to say exactly what the deal is there. Bramble has one confirmed death, but leaders have hid losing their lives before, such as Bluestar, who kept three of her deaths secret due to thistleclaw's ambition. Also, we dont know if the lives are tied to the body or spirit... it's possible ashfur lost some of brambleclaw's lives while posessing his body, and hid it. HOWEVER, for the sake of simplicity here i will be assuming that squilf was granted a full nine lives. (will explain why later)

BUT small tangent.. we really don't know the exact lives situation of Brambleclaw and Squirrelstar!

And... the same could go for Pinestar and Sunstar. Sunstar says he recieved eight lives, but... he blew through them FAST. Who's to say StarClan even gave him any extra lives? we never see any of his extra deaths, only that he lost his final life to dogs after being weakened by illness. (note that it says "weakened" by illness, but doesn't specify he lost any lives to it specifically)

However, if sunstar got no lives, but squirrelstar did, whats the difference? and also, what about nightstar, and tigerstar II, where do they fit into this?

My headcanon is when it comes to these unusual succession situations, it depends on both the former leader AND starclan.

For example, with Brokenstar - He was deposed against his will, and starclan didn't take his lives, therefore Nightstar got none, and Nightstar's successor Tigerstar I got lives presumably because Brokenstar was dead by that time

Pinestar - He left willingly, but had no extra lives for StarClan to take, and he was acting in direct defiance of starclan too

Rowanstar - He left willingly, with an unknown number of lives left. Wether or not he was acting against starclan isn't entirely clear... it's not like pinestar where he disobeyed a direct order. his situation is very strange.

Bramblestar - he left willingly, and starclan approved of his decision

So based on these HIGHLY INCONSISTENT occurrences, ive deduced a few rules ...

In order for a new leader to receive any lives at all, the previous leader must have willingly given up their position and/or their lives, because only one extra-lives cat can exist for each clan. (dying the final time fulfills this automatically, since giving their lives for their clan is an agreement condition to the position of leader. Starclan cannot strip lives from an unwilling leader.

Abdication must be approved by starclan. In Rowanstar and Brambleclaw's cases, they were abdicating primarily for the purpose of bettering their clans, passing them on to a more fit leader. Thus, next leader granted all nine lives

If abdication is NOT approved by starclan, then starclan gets petty and enacts divine punishment. For example, Pinestar's primary motive for abdication was so he could disobey the orders they were giving to kill his son. While he was becoming unfit to lead, he was abdicating mostly out of self-preservation.

so anyways ... to my next point. Brokenstar and Pinestar, though in very different ways, were both defying Starclan's will. (Brokenstar by ultrakilling his dad, Pinestar by deciding they should improve society somewhat). Both their successors, Nightstar and Sunstar, didnt get the full 9 lives. Which, following those rules i made up, means neither of them met the conditions for proper leadership. In Nightstar's case, Brokenstar had remaining lives, but was unwillingly deposed and therefore would not give his lives up. In Pinestar's case, he only had one life left, and chose to live it as a kittypet.

So, id say in the case of lives weirdness, either the former leader is being a little bitch or starclan is being a little bitch. Starclan couldn't give nightstar lives because Brokenstar was like "nuh uh", and for sunstar it was starclan themself going "nuh uh" because pinestar pissed them off. i think they were specifically so mad about pinestar because no other cat has just... hit the bricks like him LMFAOO he really was like "ok.. bye". big slap in the face for all powerful god cats. he left and took the last life and they couldnt do anything about it, besides punish sunstar, warning the other thunderclan cats to fall in line.

But anyways circling back to bramble and squilf!

in brambles case, though there was an element of self preservation to his decision, his main motivation was because he and squilf agreed she would make a stronger leader, and thunderclan was suffering with his wishy-washy shell of a man schtick that he'd been stuck in since TBC. Additionally, with code changes, its pretty clear starclan has become more lenient in recent books. Squirrelflight also is making a selfless decision by stepping up to leadership after everything shes been through.

So in a nutshell i think its because starclan approved of brambleclaw's abdication, since both he and squilf were selflessly motivated, (and also asked starclan for approval GHFDGFKS) while they did NOT approve of Pinestar going ok byeeeee <3

(i also just really like the theory of sunstar not getting any lives ok)

also, i know theres weirdness with wind runner vs tigerheart getting revived and the number of lives they got I SIMPLY WILL IGNORE IT FOR NOW TILL I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET IT TO FIT IN TO THIS IDEA ......

SS9 in Chile - an essay by kokobopam

It’s been two weeks since I saw Super Junior and I want to talk about it!

The thing is, initially I was going to write a little twitter thread about it, but then I had too much to say and too many things I didn’t want to forget so I decided to write a journal entry. This is something I’ve gotten used to doing after coming back from a concert I loved but they always end up on a notebook that no one else is going to see. So I thought maybe I could share a bit here. 

It’s still a very long post lmao but if you read it, I hope you can enjoy some of my thoughts, feelings and impressions of SS9 in Chile.

Super Show 9 : The Road - Santiago

For those of you who don’t know, I got into kpop very recently, like, starting the pandemic. So this was a very big deal because I’ve never been to a kpop concert (I’m not counting the failed MuBank, it was a festival anyway) or seen any of my favorite groups before. In fact, aside from Super Junior, who’s been to my country twice, neither EXO nor TVXQ have been close to me ever.

Up till December, we were convinced we would get a SS9 in Argentina, but things happened —the economy, stupid production companies, just one month's notice before the show— and we weren’t as lucky this time. It had to be Chile, then.

I won’t get into details but organizing this trip in such short notice was hard as fuck, but I was feeling so depressed at the prospect of missing them and they never coming back again that I simply had to go. It worked out in the end. Even when I had to put everything together in less than two weeks and I’m gonna be paying this for the next three months, it was worth every cent.

I’ve been to many, many (non-kpop) concerts and you can tell when the artist is there to share their music, to put on a show or just to get paid. Super Junior…they’re not just idols, they’re entertainers and they’re SO GOOD at it. But you can also tell how much they love doing what they do and that love and energy is definitely contagious.

The phenomenon of Super Junior becoming one of the biggest kpop groups in Latin America —more than a decade ago, before kpop went “mainstream” — is something to talk about on another post but I do believe we have a special relationship with them, otherwise this wouldn’t be their third time visiting in a decade and filling 15k - 20k venues, even on weekdays in some cases.

And I know, I know, speeches get repeated and the same words translated into different languages but you can tell when someone’s being honest about their feelings. They didn’t shy out about the fact that the flight had left them exhausted, that their bodies ached or that the jet lag was taking a toll on them but they still left everything on stage and made sure to tell us again and again how much energy they gained from us. 

So in return we sang and cheered for them as loud as we could and gave them all the love we have. I came back home feeling incredibly in love with Latam ELFs, I swear. 

Let’s get to the concert then.

I already knew most of the setlist but I still was blown away when the show began with Burn the Floor. This was probably one of the performances I was anticipating the most —ever since I watched the beginning of their tour in Seoul online— and finally experiencing it in person was absolutely incredible. This song and the stage production, with all the outfits and lights and red ropes (puppet strings!), was definitely one of the reasons I became an ELF so I was so glad they didn’t take it from the setlist.

They did change the setlist, though, and removed the Ticky Tocky-Paradox-Mystery section which I really wanted to see live. BUT I’m not complaining. In exchange they added One More Time and Lo Siento which everyone sang really loud, specially the choruses and parts in spanish. It was so much fun! And they also did Devil, Mango and Mamacita (the full regular ver! instead of the opera one) in those sexy black outfits, so yeah that was neat. 

The third part of the show was soft boys time <3 Yesung sang Small Things and he was the only member to do a solo. It was very sweet that he got the chance to do so, given that he didn’t have a lot of time to promote the album before coming to latam. I hope he enjoyed the spotlight even if we weren’t the best at the fan chant lol.

I don’t know how to explain this, but up to this point I had been very focused on the performances. Maybe it’s because it had been over a decade since the last time I saw any kind of pop group with men dancing on stage, or maybe because for all the previous acts they had been wearing color coordinated outfits so it was a bit hard to tell them apart from afar (I wasn’t close to the stage); but the thing is, listening to K.R.Y. live absolutely broke me.

It’s like my brain finally caught up with the fact that I was actually listening to them singing live in front of me and, god, I was positively overwhelmed. Kyuhyun’s and Ryeowook’s voices are some of my favorites in kpop and being able to hear them in person..I cried for real. I’m a sucker for singers and I still get goosebumps thinking about it. They’re out of this world, the three of them.

And another thing a friend pointed out was that it was their first time performing as a subunit in latam —Yesung wasn’t present the first time in 2013 and KyuWook were missing in 2018—so yeah, very surreal. I feel so lucky.

Part four of the show was what I’d been really really anticipating the whole time. Because when would I ever have the chance to see D&E or experience Bonamana rock ver. again? 

It was HOT. 

D&E are insane live. They have this crazily explosive stage presence that forces you to keep your eyes fixed on them because you don’t want to miss anything. They performed B.A.D and Danger and seeing them dance and flirt with the audience…I just couldn’t believe it. I hope they consider coming back in the future with their own tour because I wouldn’t miss the chance to see them.

After that, the rest of the members joined them for Black Suit and Bonamana. 

Ngl, I’ve been saving Bonamana Leeteuk fancams (you know which ones) since the beginning of their tour, but seeing the real thing live, I’m pretty sure I got a nose bleed. I also had Leeteuk, Kyuhyun and Hyukjae on my side of the stage so I was screaming my lungs out the entire time. They’re so sexy, all of them, and they went full rockstars with this performance which wasn’t good for my health. I’m still recovering.

Finally, they started the last bit of the show with the Analog Radio self recorded video which made me cry again (don’t judge me, I was really emotional). 

This last encore is where they show up with their hand drawn t-shirts (cute!!), sing some meaningful but fun songs and do their final ments. It was really sweet that they took their time to walk the entire stage sending hearts and kisses, waving at fans and interacting with them. Ryeowook even forgot to sing his part in a song because he was sitting down, signing albums haha my boy. 

Their ments were also cute and fun and heartfelt. And they made a real effort to communicate in our language and let us know how much they’d missed us and that, despite being tired, they were happy to be there. 

Special mention to Kyuhyun, my spanish speaking king, giving his entire speech like a local and going crazy for an inflatable whiskey bottle (x) after we sang him happy birthday lmao.

They closed the show with Ahora te puedes marchar, a total party with every single person singing along, said goodbye again, and that was it. The best two hours and a half of my life.

I came back home with many great memories and new elf friends which feels so good because there aren’t many kpop stans my age with the same music tastes where I live. So it was really lovely being able to share this with other people, specially since many of us had to travel very far away to see them. It was the best kind of bonding experience and I do love meeting people at concerts.

I’m still very emotional about everything. Following the rest of the tour stops in latam kept me on a SS9 high for a week and now I’m slowly coming back to reality, feeling like it was all a dream.

At least I know I didn’t imagine it, because just yesterday EunHae were posting a bunch of videos and pics about the tour with cute messages, so, we’re all going through it haha.

This blog definitely didn't start as a CCS blog, or not even a Clamp blog, I remember I was in my Saint Tail brainrot/withdrawal period, and I wanted to ramble about it all alone on a personal space, always hoping that Tachikawa sensei one day would write the extra chapter that she talked about on her blog...hence why I chose this url. For this and another personal reason, actually. I also loved to RT all the nice screencaps and edits for my favorite anime...

...then 2016 came and the love of my life, CCS, came back and my blog was absolutely swept away by the excitement, turning pretty much into a constant stream of CCS content and chapter commentary for Clear Card each month. When the anime came out in 2018, things only got worse 😂 but then in 2020 I started to realize about the translation differences between the English version and the original Japanese, and I decided that my beloved story deserved better than that, better than being misunderstood like that, especially the new characters that in the meantime I came to love so dearly...

So pretty naturally, I started to vent my frustration compiling all the mistakes/differences every month, in a very "whoever is willing to read it, is welcome to do so" fashion. For my convenience the differences are always included in my commentary. I haven't gone around promoting my posts very much, it's basically always "I run into someone confused about a line in the Eng ver/got some facts wrong, I tell them that the original JP actually says something else and I leave a link to my blog".

The more the story went on, the more I wondered if I was stepping on anyone's toes for doing these posts, but with my immense joy it seems they got Clamp's blessing, so I'll keep doing them till the very end of the story.

In between these commentaries, I throw some other translations I do mainly for myself (Twitter Spaces where Sakura is mentioned, interviews especially about the anime, etc) and that I like to organize more or less neatly in one place, and that people can share if they want. And also my fanarts, even though they never do big numbers here. But heh, I'll keep sharing them here too, cause it's my blog after all.

So yeah, 10 years of this. There were definitely times when I've hated this website and its community since things were becoming pretty toxic, flames started randomly out of nowhere, I just hope once the anime will be back it won't be the same shit again. I stopped looking at the CCS tags because of that and other reasons connected to that, so unless one of the people I follow shares it and puts it on my dash, I almost never reblog CCS art/edits/gifs etc. Cause the pretty artworks aren't worth wrecking my mood because I found the nth person shaming something that I love (and the people who love that thing, with it). Sorry about that, my blog is pretty boring in that sense.

Luckily, Tumblr brought me also good things, so I guess it makes up for that. I've met lots of people from my current CCS "circle", here.

To be honest, I know I have 2626 followers (as of today), but to this day I still wonder why. I highly doubt all of them are here because they're interested in my posts, probably not even half of them, lol (and I do my best to kick the bots). Nonetheless, thank you to all the people who interact with my posts ❤️ and thank you for sending me nice asks every month! 🙏 I don't always reply to them right away and some of them I leave for later when I have a downtime (like this one ask that's pretty broad in topic and I'm keeping it for when I have a little more time and nothing else to talk about).

Since Clear Card will continue for a little more than expected, the monthly appointment here will continue in parallel, and I'm already preparing my next "trivia" post, it's a topic I wanted to talk about since looooooong time. 😉

the rest of the performance didn't really click even though no one was bad at all. need maliya to be saved though like that's a Face

picking a winner is tough for this team because you have some singers who can't dance/perform & some dancers who don't sing as well. in truth pream, rjing, xueyao, and maybe maliya are the most balanced, but xueyao in particular didn't really stand out. pream stood out because of her center time, but this is far from her best (her presence is usually a lot stronger). maybe id go with rjing? but id need to see a full stage with no cuts

10. team: pieces of love

you have to suspend your disbelief a bit with these shows but i couldn't even pretend this was live & it's so distracting 😭 yuan ke & jessica are my next picks but i need them to focus more on facial expressions

my top 9?

honestly i've had a really hard time coming up with a group, if only because i genuinely like 47ish of the contestants (others i dont like or simply don't know). also, i do think it'd be nice for most of the group to be thai. i scrolled through the contestants and just picked the first 9 that i saw who made me go "yeah, you" lmfao and this is what i ended up with:

yean feels virtually indispensable at this point. she can dance, she's a great pop vocalist, and she can fit any concept. the show is also very on her side.

wang ke's performance in 7 rings convinced me of her star power (honestly she's been hit or miss to me until this point). wang ke didn't need to be the best singer or dancer to stand out on stage, it's her energy that really sets her apart and that's a hard skill to learn.

tegan...she's just a surprisingly strong contestant. i wasn't really a fan of how she acted during the theme song arc (all 7.5 minutes of it, lol) but i do understand that she was trying to lighten the mood. from the theme song to round one she showed that she really could hold her own on stage if she put her mind to it. other factors: star quality, demographic appeal, growth idolism, unique tone/strong vocals

rose is my underrated pick. she has a great voice and i think she can be styled to fit a number of concepts. she hasn't gotten much screentime, but i really hope she makes round 2, just to force the show to show more of her strengths. in some ways she's a little bit filler here, but i think she's necessary for the group to gel

ruan, our summer dream center...idk i just like her a lot. she suits different concepts and is super super hardworking & serious about this, while also being really kind. i want to see her learning/speaking more thai and english hopefully!

qiao yiyu is a talent & demographic pick (and one of my overall main picks at this point) she's another member who i see as indispensable. she's a main dancer who can fit multiple styles (but she's also for the girlies). in this pic she kinda looks like yuqi? lmfao

p.amp, my other totally biased pick 🥲 she's so gorgeous onstage and has so much presence i don't understand why the masses aren't seeing her 😭. she's a filler visual here but hot take, we don't need a wannabe gangsta rapper who can't dance self proclaimed quote unquote "real rapper" in the lineup when so many gg raps are pre-written and last for max 4 lines. p.amp can do it while dancing, being charming, and looking hot. i rest my case

geumhee is my pick of the csr members, although duna's rank is the best & seoyeon is the one getting a storyline. geumhee would be slightly filler here, but her singing ability would make her a lead vocal, and he experience and preexisting intl audience would make her indispensable. tbh she's the first member i personally noticed in csr, but i think that csr could live for a couple years without her and then benefit from her return.

mingming is good, although im generally on the fence about her. she has great lead vocal potential and is very likable. i kind of think the mindy members will be fine if none of them make it, but i do feel her voice is a little wasted there.

nationalities: 4 thailand, 2 china, 1 usa, 1 japan, 1 south korea

other contestants to consider:

pailiu! i really like her (and she's currently rank 2) but im not seeing a group that she fits into in the top ranks. maybe if maliya, jessica, xueyao, yuanke, p.amp, jaoying, etc were a bit higher. it's too soon to tell though i suppose

elyn's (#1) fanbase is really showing out for her considering the relatively minimal screentime she's had. her vocals aren't as strong as rose's, but she could potentially replace her in the lineup and add more (in terms of fan loyalty & demographic appeal).

emma not making my off the top of my head top 9 was really unexpected! i make the top 9 and then went wait where's emma? i think i would replace mingming with her, although honestly? emma's a star and should probably try to go to a company with some power, like perhaps yuehua china. for a survival show group, it's good that she stands out as an individual but in terms of cohesion...eh. she couldn't be filler, but she also probably couldn't be the star with the rest of this lineup. it's tough

absolutely LOVE krista's voice, but the reason i stopped voting for her is that she is kind of an absolutely miserable dancer. the great part is that she's super young, and can train to work on her dancing & her stage presence + facial expressions. krista (and others) make me wish that chuang was like produce japan, where the funding company (there lapone, here ryce) takes on trainees from the show for future permanent or temporary groups. krista would be a great candidate for that.

kitty, natty, & jaoying i noticed for the first time this round. i don't have much to say but they would be very solid filler members (not a drag, btw). im looking forward to seeing more of them!

yuan ke & wan yan jiayi are growing kind of indispensable if they want to have a foothold in china it seems. my personal pick would be yuan ke, but i think jiayi is moreso on the rise.

TBH i have 21 more contestant photos saved but let me just move onto another potential top 9

all i did was replace rose & mingming with elyn & emma, which brings the nationality count to: 2 thailand, 3 china, 1 japan, 1 usa, 1 malaysia, 1 south korea. see but now i'd say they need at least one more thai member! now sort of i want to put jaoying in over elyn lol. oh well 🤷🏿‍♀️

hi this is a lot of negative and complainy stuff have fun.

illustrators in the community are absolutely tossed aside.

you dont need to use voice synth programs to be a huge vocal synth fan.

utau isnt hard compared to most vocal synths. all voice synths are hard and have their own learning curve. it's just a matter if you want to learn it.

kikuo isnt unique, like at all. its more like combining 3 different styles (edm, orchestral, and like music box sounds???) into one song and the songs where he doesnt use like all three or more are good but like. i wouldnt call them unique. particularly salty abt this bc there was this one person that would never shut the fuck up about how unique kikuo was when its like... yeah kinda mid.

female utau voicebanks sound bad. i dont know what it is they just sound like dog doo doo a good 70% of the time. male ones almost always pop off- worst case theyre a little flat and plain.

utau and pre vocaloid 5 are better than any ai ever.

ai voicebanks are weird. i get it. theyre really cool and impressive. however, they don't give off what made vocaloid unique back in its day. there's a few ai vbs that are "robotic" (kafu, kevin, uhhh) and theyre honestly the best ais out there. for realistic vocals- best ones are stardust and solaria.

Season 3 Ramble#6 - Just Jump In! ver.3

This month’s episode is about the jump magazine line published by Shueisha(spell). I've done this twice before, hence v.3 but this time I decided to focus on all their magazine lines except weekly shonen jump, which is their most well known line around the world.

In previous rambles I gave details about the jump magazine line, it's publishing company shueisha, their target demographics and so on, but this is v3 so what I'm gonna do is skip all that and welcome you to check out my just jump in v1 or 2 rambles if you haven't or watch the ultimate guide to every jump magazine by manga crash on YouTube. that's the video's literal title btw. big shouts out to crash for the amount of research he put into that video. lots of great information on the intent of different lines and he shines light lines that have run from anywhere between a day and a decade. great channel and twitter in general and blah blah,, yh,, check out all 3 or none at all it's up to you.

but in any case what we're doing here today. in the present. that's different from all of the above, is focusing on reading everything that's not weekly shonen jump, which as I said is their most popular and definitely most financially successful magazine.

and for what it’s worth, it's also one of, if not their most accessible outside Japan, especially if you only entertain certain quality standards, so that being said I didn't get in that many new reads in this month. literally just 5 so I'm not even gonna really do the format thing I usually do and just jump right in fr.

This month’s reads

#5 Shadow Lady (Masakazu Katsura, complete w 24 chapters, V Jump)

The premise here is that a young shy girl turns into a sultry phantom thief at night by putting on magic eye liner.

Picked this up because I really dig zetman and video girl which this guy also did. still wasn't really expecting anything too crazy, would’ve welcomed something crazy, but it wasn't. what it did have going for it was the art though, if you've read any of this guy's other manga you'd know his art is definitely a winner + it's got that old school kinda charm ++ it's one of his older works. that charm also comes out in character dynamics as her main love interest is ofc a police officer that wants to catch her but doesn't know her secret identity. steamy hijinks ensues and there's laughs and everything but it's number 5 on a list of 5 things, 25 chapters. short read. not so sweet but we move.

#4 The bones of an invisible person(Jun Ogino, complete w 22 chapters, Shonen Jump+)

The story here is about a young girl in an abusive household that gains the power of invisibility, how she uses her powers, and the fallout of that.

Pretty melancholy vibe throughout but the kind that's like trying to carry itself through the muck, though it is the muck itself,, I hope that lit up the circuits in your brain I intended,, but if not a manga comparison can be found in pretty much all the works of inio asano or more closely in shuzo oshimi’s manga like happiness or drifting net cafe. you could also make a non manga comparison with media like Melancholia or The Banshees of Inisherin, great films that highlight the less dramatic, more subtle swamps of mundanity and how they can be born from and in turn give birth to the more dramatic aspects of life, both positive and negative. it also eeriely reminded me of a one shot from hiroki Endo’s short story anthology collection but I'm rambling now and I know it …

in any case, melancholy is a vibe and it's always great to see a melancholy ruminating girl in my media. #diversitywin. also always neat to see the more unsavoury side of supernatural powers, and not in the “what if Superman was evil?” kinda way but in the more “these powers are kind of like a burden actually" kinda way… pretty solid art. not that many characters but they tended to carry some nicely smoldering warmth which was a great contrast to the overarching vibe.

22 chapters. short and neat. short and sweet. would recommend.

#3 Neko Majin (Akira Toriyama, complete w 8 chapters, Monthly Shonen Jump)

Firstly. we can never say thank you enough to Akira Toriyama. his parting was an inevitability of his life so we're glad we had him and I'm super thankful for all the work he did and all the love he so clearly did it with.

that being said. there's no real story here. sir Toriyama just drew a silly little dude. specifically a silly little cat. that's been trained by another silly little dude. who goes by the name of Goku, you may have heard of him. definitely a gag manga, no I didn't get any crazy life threatening laughs from it but there's something about Toriyama's art that draws a smile on your face. ..crazy to think his style will come to be called “old school” in a few but that too is life… rest in power Akira Toriyama sensei.

#2 Kono Oto Tomare(Amyuu Sakura, 114 chapters ongoing, Jump Square/SQ)

First off. very important note. for those who don't know, the koto is a traditional Japanese instrument and is actually their national instrument. Personally I knew neither of these things before reading this manga. While reading though I tried intentionally listening to some koto music and it was pretty rad, like aside from the manga I'd recommend checking out some koto music and just traditional Japanese music overall tbh. pretty rad.

In any case, this manga is about a highschool koto club on the brink of being disbanded for not having enough members and the cumulative effort of overcoming that, led by a delinquent freshman.

I've seen it mentioned by quite a few people, a good number of people whose taste's and their analysis even, I have a lot of respect for, but I still wasn't expecting much. now that I've read it and experienced the awesomeness I'm pretty sure a lot of that came from not knowing what a koto was and not really caring. I thought the manga trying to make me care about it would be an uphill battle but the way they paralleled the different club members' development as individual and collective human beings, with their ability to produce unique sounds through the koto, again, both individually and collectively, was pretty phenomenal.

the ultra creative illustrations in art focused manga is pretty much always a winner for me but yet I still somehow I feel like I keep getting sucker punched by it,, especially here with the koto like going into this I had almost zero reference for how they sounded but I don't know what to tell you man they drew the shit out of that sound. ftr the art is pretty great all round. It has a bit of a shoujo feel, even a pinch of BL if your mind wanders down those roads but even at the surface level, the dynamics are pretty well orchestrated with a generally natural feel in any case.

The pacing is great and it looks like it's coming up to its climax,,, or crescendo if you want to force the pun, great time to pick it up and I definitely highly recommend.

side note. if you're wondering what I mean by art focused manga then I'd recommend listening to my rambles all about art and all about art v2.

#1 Cyborg 009(Shoutarou Ishinomori, 114/206 chapters, monthly shonen jump)

From reading this and reading about it I came into the knowledge that the creator of cyborg 009 was actually an assistant on tetsuwan atom, better known as astro boy here in the West. I just wanna take a moment here and say that astro boy is cool and all but this is the real greatest robot on earth.

The setting is the latter half of the twentieth century and sadly war is still a thing and sadder still the entire world seems engaged in it. looking into the camera like I'm on the office ofc. This is all fueled by a terrorist organization known as black ghost, that mainly profits by creating and selling more and more advanced weapons. again. the camera. So the world is so full of war, so full there's almost no room for anymore,, which interferes with profits and we can't have that. not in the good ol free market. so black ghost comes up with the ingenious idea of expanding the frontiers of fighting by creating 9 highly advanced cyborgs who can take the fighting below and above earth, sea, sky and even space. and they would've gotten away with it too but the cyborgs along with a remorseful rogue black ghost scientist, have retained enough of their human hearts to fight against this evil.

To start, because of how old it is, coming out in 1964, I thought I wouldn't be too into the action and have to really dig into the themes and so but it was pretty solid, usually effectively conveying their grand dramaticism if not always so smooth in choreography. great variety, which I really appreciated,. a lot of media say they have these fighters that can go at it anywhere and do anything but for some reason they usually end up just punching it out in some business district or something, but here? these guys were fighting anyone, anywhere, fr… for a cause..

cool dialogue and dynamics. fights trying to end fighting tend to generate that.. it’s always cool to see beacons of humanity shining through a mechanical lens, lots to say and unpack, but one thing I will definitively speak on to say I liked was the inner turmoil of the fighting. again, a lot of media just have folks punching out, granted they do tend to be for some higher purpose like saving the world or a loved one but fighting is still difficult more often times than not. yes physically so but mentally and emotionally, yes someone needs to fight but why does it have to be me, why do I have to fight this way and what does one become through fighting, win or lose? great stuff, especially as I said through that mechanical lens.

Old ass art but it's got charm, sadly the messages are still very potent to this day, really wish it were a case of looking back like man humanity was so foolish then huh?? but in any case really really great read, had always dug the aesthetic from the glimpses of one of the anime adaptations I saw every now and then as a kid, really really glad the actual content matched and even exceed that. highly recommend but grain of salt due to translation hell.

I know I’ve been gone for a little but now that I’m back I had to stop by an invade your inbox and get your opinions on Drag Rave Sverige💜

I’ve really liked the first two episodes and I feel like there’s a perfect balance of teasing, kindness, and authenticity from the queens and I’m really liking Fux as a host

So far my favorites are Imma Queen, Elecktra, and Fontana. Imma seems very sweet and is so imaginative and different and I just love seeing her interpretation of things displayed in her drag. Fontana is another sweetheart and her makeup is gorgeous. Her genuine enthusiasm and the fun she has definitely gives me Arantxa energy which I absolutely love. And to me Elecktra radiates quiet confidence and I feel like she’s been doing drag long enough to know she’s amazing but is still super relatable

Admira has been growing on me too since I was worried that she’d take things too seriously (since she comes off as super professional and put together) but she’s shown how light-hearted and nurturing she can be which I was glad to see. Santana’s looks have been amazing and I feel like she’s ver intriguing snd I definitely want to see more of her. And I find myself having a soft spot for Endigo since she seems like a sweetheart who is really trying to give it her all

Hello!! first and foremost its nice to have you back, I did notice you hadn't posted in a while, hope you're doing well!! 💕💕 and 2nd of all, sorry its taken me so long to reply ive been extremely behind on sverige.. i swear it just started and then suddenly i was seeing 'are you team' posts on twitter lol i'm still not fully caught up but watched a few more eps earlier this week and i think i'm caught up enough to at least reply now 😅 But yes i'm really liking Fux too, i loveee the look he wears in those pop up videos in the werkroom it reminds me of something you'd see in panto! And yes to everything you said about fontana, she's one of my favs too!! so much so that i had to pause my cathing up plans after ep5 because i was so annoyed at how they treated her that ep! she did not deserve to be in the bottom but as soon as they announced euphoria as the lip sync song i knew she'd be staying!! but yeah still not happy about how that ep went down

I'm glad you're liking Admira too because I am obsessed with her! She reminds me of miss fame in a way?? or maybe like her aunt lol Her looks are always incredible (her liquorice look is probably my favourite from the whole season so far) and she clearly takes what she does very seriously but like you said there's still an air of light heartedness about her. Plus she's so funny. Obsessed. Like you Vanity, Santana and Elektra are also some of my favs for very similar reasons but also can i just say I have not heard 'irish coffee' in the same way since elektra's talent show.. the way she says it has just been living in my head each and every day and it probably will continue too do so for the forseable future Overall I am liking the season but if i'm being honest i haven't fully connected with it?? Maybe because it started when Belgique was airing and thats my no1 so far this year, but also i didnt connect with s15 much either so maybe its just me 😅
