What are your lawlight headcanons?
Oh, an ask? In my inbox? It took a while to realize there really was something in the inbox and it wasn't a bot this time. Anon, this is my first real ask, I'm so touched <3
To the topic! Lawlight headcanons! I have so many, I don't even know where to start. Some of them are AU genre specific, some are based on which arc/timeperiod it is. So many thoughts, how to summarize...
Warning: Below is a long ramble of a few headcanons and why I think that way. They're headcanons, and don't need canon or authorial proof to exist, thanks. Some of them might be AUs too, oops.
For AUs set in the early 2000s, where Light is first arc age. L realizes he's in love first. Not because L's older. Because of the circumstances Light grew up in.
Light is the eldest (and only) son of his family. He had his life figured out since childhood and never doubted he would do anything other than follow that path: Become a detective, chief, and eventually director. Get a girlfriend, buy a car and a house, marry said steady girlfriend, have two kids, the whole traditional family thing. You can even see hints of that in second arc.
When I first read the manga, I could see it in manga!Light. It seemed that way to me because it is sort of a common cultural thing between some Asian countries. Not anime!Light though, which is interesting, but not the point here.
So, Light does not realize he's in love, because he's never had the question of whether he's gay, because he never thought the reason he can't keep his eyes off L is because he's attracted to L, because 'attraction to L' is a non-existent concept in his consciousness.
Light is not dense, nor homophobic or anything. He recognizes when other men are attracted to him, he accepts that people can love whoever they want. He just never superimposes that image on himself.
It takes a whole long while for his brain to cook enough, to separate himself from the image he has in his mind. Then, he questions his sexuality and realizes he is, indeed, attracted to men as well. Or rather, one specific man. He has no sexual and romantic interest in anyone else and by that age, Light has experimented enough to know that.
Between Older Light and L, Light would be the first one to figure it out. But between 18 - 21 year old Light and L, it would L.
2. L is very specific about textures. His favorite, the one he discovers when he meets Light, is Light. Light takes very good care of himself, his face and body being as much a resource he uses as his brains.
Cue touchy L. L likes to run his fingers through Light's hair, he likes it when he can touch Light skin-to-skin, likes it when Light touches him back with his fingers.
As much as L likes watching Light (because L will freely admit he is a shallow creature and Light is very attractive to watch indeed), L loves touching Light more. He may or may not miss body language cues if he's too close to observe the full picture, but the trade off is worth it to L.
3. Light's long list of ex-girlfriends and admirers has stumped L many times. Especially when Light admits they all knew about the others. And that they don't begrudge Light for not committing 100%. And that they still happily help Light with whatever he wants them for even decades later.
Sometimes, it makes L wonder if he is just another victim of Light Yagami's charisma. Then he discards that thought because it doesn't matter. He has Light and Light is just as obsessed with him right back. L is the eventual winner and it doesn't matter who caught whom when they're both in it together.
4. They're both highly competitive. It translates over to board games as well. It's a Rule TM, posted on the fridge, notarized, signed and stamped by their friends and family, that they are never allowed to play Monopoly. And Uno. And Catan. And- [an increasing list of trade focused games].
Addendum - Twister should only be played in personal space, behind closed locked doors! — Sayu and Mello
Addendum 2 - Light is forbidden to play Jenga with Near. — L
That's all for now! If I continue, I'll never stop XD
Thanks for the ask, Anon!

Hehe I got more screenshots. Still finding it difficult to get Vanny and Vanessa in the same room unfortunately, for now that blurry screenshot is the best I can get. So! Interesting thing, the glitch filter multiplies so heavily on each Vanny that this is her jumpscare when you have multiple spawned. (I'm pretty sure her normal jumpscare is more red)
Here's a couple other screenshots while I spam a wall of text about this glitch
So basically the way I got this glitch in the first place was doing the atrium section, hopping over the security barriers to get out of bounds and grab the security badge from the prize counter, getting me security level 4 if I remember right.
Unfortunately there's not much else I can do from here besides go down the elevator and just use my security badge to skip the endo section.
(If you do this without getting the map bot jumpscare he won't spawn in and you get softlocked from entering the endo section ever again. Just a little side note.)
If I try to get the party pass early, timelord Moon insta-kills me. No escape. After doing the Freddy repair I can head up the elevator to Rockstar Row. (thankfully it's pretty simple, which is good because I need to repeat this glitch back from the beginning to make this work.)
From here I can do the glitch with or without getting the party pass. Vanessa acts very.. odd during this mess. I think some part of her AI realizes she's not supposed to be here. Last time she followed the Vannies to El chips before realizing and running off, never to be seen again. This time I led the Vannies to Rockstar Row so I figured Vanessa would stick around. Nope. She wandered around with her idle animation for a while before running off towards backstage, never to be seen again. They were in the same room for a while but I couldn't get a screenshot with both of them in the frame because of the view from cams.
Ironically I'm more afraid of Vanessa than I am of the Vanny swarm. Vanessa is half-giga honestly, like the monty in the daycare. She keeps going after you for a while and her pathing is really smart. For all I know she could pop up at any second. At least the vannies walk slow and are predictable lol.
Speaking of.. because it spawns in Vanny from the atrium (literally all I did to spawn them was walk in vaguely the direction of the escalator near fazerblast. For some reason this time it spawned in 3 at a time, last few times I did this glitch it was 4 at a time. Idk what I did differently.) Anyway back to the topic. Atrium Vanny has a constant tracker on you, but she can only walk. She can't do the horrifying t pose and run that lost and found Vanny does. (Highly recommend getting a save for that point in the game. Her AI is fun to mess around with.) She'll constantly chase you unless you do one of two things (with pretty intelligent pathing most of the time too.) If you use Freddy as a door, like I did. Or if you walk on an elevated surface she can't jump to, for example the boxes near the vent in Freddy's room. Doing this is really interesting actually. If you get her stuck behind a door she can't access (Freddoor or the door to El chips, since you need to crouch to get in.) She just keeps skipping to your location. But if you jump on a platform they all freeze in place, doing their idle animation but it's basically walking in place. It's very hivemind behavior lol, that's how I get the majority of these screenshots.
It's really interesting to me and I'm definitely gonna keep messing with it lol. Hope this ramble was more entertaining than a boring wall of text, this glitch is really fun to experiment with, if you'd want to hear/see more about it I'd totally be up to share more screenshots the more I experiment with this glitch :)
Oh my god i am obsessed. Overpowered vanessa (who can Find you) just going oh shit . Wait I’m not supposed to be here. What the fuck why are there 500 of me. And just sprinting from the room is so fucking funny…… and then she is never seen again omg.
Also TIMELORD MOON LMAO…
Ur not boring at all this is quite fascinating. The vannies skipping around in a single file line is fantastic. Also yeah vanny jumpscare is usually a lot more red oh no…her LED eyes ran out of battery:(

@librarycards posted their book recs for the summer (past ~3 mos) and tagged me to do the same!
honestly, i hadn't really read much stuff for myself, besides nonfiction vaqueiro books, and hadn't read much fiction in a while, until i started getting closer with my now gf who is into scifi writing and the publishing industry and we started recommending each other our favorite books and reading books together. so this would be the actual first months i do have real recommendations!
i generally hate writing reviews and am bad at them except for some reviews of nonfiction books about vaqueiros bc i am extremely knowledgeable in that area and therefore have strong opinions about them. so i'm just linking to their pages and i'll give a short description i suppose.
Imperial Radch (entire series, first book is Ancillary Justice, there are 3 books, and 2 companion books) by Ann Leckie
The AI of a spaceship is inhabiting a human body, searching the galaxy on her quest to take down the empire she was once a part of as an act of revenge. An all time favorite series.
2. The Murderbot Diaries (entire series, first book is All Systems Red, there are currently 6 books total, 5 (?) are novellas, 1 is a novel, a second novel is coming out in a few months) by Martha Wells
A bot-human construct Security Unit hacks its own governor module so it no longer has to follow orders from its company, but spends years continuing its role and pretending to be under corporate control until it is rented out on a planetary survey by people from outside the corporation controlled planets who are, for the first time in its life, sympathetic to it and interested in helping it. And it has to decide what it really wants for itself, how it defines itself, and who it is. Also it really loves soap operas. I'm on the 5th book rn but definitely an all time favorite series as well, and is also one of my gf's favorites. This one really hit home, being a survivor of psychiatric abuse, I relate to Murderbot immensely. It puts an entirely different reading to the series. I can't stop reading it.
3. The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson
This one is also a series, there are currently 3 books but it is unfinished but I don't know when others will be coming out. This is also one of my gf's favorites. I'm going to confess I haven't finished this one yet and put it on hold bc it's quite bleak and a lot of bad stuff started happening in my life and I was like. Um maybe I need to read something a little less depressing for the time being. But I am absolutely coming back to it. A challenging read, in topic and also just generally. I've had lots of feelings about it as a lesbian but especially as a Vaqueira. When Baru's home is colonized by the Empire of Masks, a mysterious man from the Empire becomes her patron, putting her through the new Empire-run school where she learns imperial ideas of gender, sexuality, and race. After excelling in math and finance, she is sent to become the Empire's accountant for the colony of Aurdwynn where she is expected to crush rebellion of the locals.
4. La Navidad de los lobos by Fran Gayo
This one is in Spanish. And I also haven't finished it. In fact, I have barely started it, but I feel compelled to include it. It is a work of Vaqueiro fiction, written by a Vaqueiru. One of the first works of modern Vaqueiro fiction that I am aware of. A diaspora Vaqueiru man living in Buenos Aires returns to Territoriu Vaqueiru after his grandmother dies. That's pretty much all I'm aware of for the plot right now, but it takes place in the near future and has some magical realism. Takes place in a fictional braña. Also there are a few cool illustrations! I'm not very far in bc I'm trying to read it at work and you know how that goes!
So that's my reads for the summer! Mostly entire series, I'm a series person so I don't have a ton of images to post but I did kind of end up including some reviews, except for for Imperial Radch, I don't love it any less, it's one of my faves, I just read it first so it is furthest from my memory. I am 100% Murderbot brain rn tbh. Honestly if you like scifi like the scifi seasons of f@tt or Becky Chambers novels, I highly recommend Imperial Radch and Murderbot!
For this I tag @angelofdudes @hamath @discworldwitches (i know you were already tagged in the other post srry) @leguindyke @gracelandmp3 @bisexualmoses if yall want to, i know its a big ask!

Social Media Trending Analysis: Walker vs. DeanCasWedding
Social Media Metrics for Duke 1x05
Now that it’s the next day after the premiere of Duke, the fifth episode of the first season of Walker, I wanted to share the insights I found. Last night #Walker trended to #3 at United States Twitter Trending Top 30. During the course of the evening the show accumulated an excess of 12.3K, some additional hash-tags that trended during the course of the live tweeting included: #SendLoveToTexas and #Micki.
It’s come to my attention that during the live tweeting a Destiel fan posted some information concerning the social media analysis which directly compared the #DeanCasWedding to #Walker. I will share the tweet for ease of reference.
As you can see there are a number of issues with this data/cross analysis. I’ll begin to go through them point by point and then do a cross comparison of the two campaigns side by side.
First and foremost you will see from the tweet in question that the poster did a 7-Day analysis between #Walker and #DeanCasWedding. This means that during the time #Walker was trending they completed a report that ran from 2/12-2/18. For those who are unaware #DeanCasWedding trended on 2/14, and Walker airs regularly on Thursdays. The past two Thursdays were 2/11 and 2/18. The poster is comparing a 7 Day analysis of a hash-tag to one that surges on Thursday during a live-tweet. The author is comparing apples to oranges.
Secondly, Nielsen and Networks, don’t care about 7 Day reports and trends unless they are news programs or soap operas who have content being shared with public audiences every day or every week. There is no reason for them to monitor chatter in this way. Additionally Nielsen does not care about anything outside of the 7 hour airing window of the show in question. For example if you want your tweets to count towards the network/show and Nielsen’s top tweeted shows and your show of preference airs at 8 PM, only tweets from 5 PM - 12 AM will count towards the shows social media presence. Networks and content providers don’t care about anything outside of those hours. Which again shows how meaningless a 7-Day report is for social media concerning television series, and why I won’t track hash-tags outside of the day/time it trends.
Now that those quick details have been addressed, I’m going to do a side-by-side analysis of the two hash-tags when they trended on the dates in question #DeanCasWedding on 2/14 and #Walker during the live tweet of 2/18. For those who are interested in seeing my original report on the DeanCasWedding trend data it’s here for reference.
#DeanCasWedding
As shared before this is the most important data from the #DeanCasWedding. It trended on Twitter’s United States Trending Top 30 at #4 on 2/14, and generated a collective 46.3K tweets before it stopped trending at around 10-11PM EST. As mentioned before this campaign had a very high retweet threshold 67%, and a very high portion of the contributors had accounts that have been active for less than 1 year (26%), this is a high indication of sock puppet accounts/fake accounts. The average Destiel fan account tweeted 5-8 times on average to make the hash tag trend over the course of the 10-11 hours, with some of the top contributors tweeting an excess of 400 times. All this is provided in the report shared earlier.
What does that mean? I want to zero in on the contributors column and the reach, because this is the heart of it all. Although they had 5.3k people contribute to their campaign the conversation was very insular, that means that the people tweeting likely had the same audience, same followership, and in general the same handles talking back and forth in a very small pool of people trading comments between one another. I will do a comparison to #Walker’s premiere later on because it’s the only other campaign I have record of that had a similar tweet threshold and trended for around the same time (During it’s premiere #Walker and #Jared Padalecki trended for 15 hours, peaked at #4 on Twitter’s Top 30, and generated 59.6K tweets).
The bottom line here is that even though #DeanCasWedding was able to trend the substance is not meaningful due to the factors of reach, retweeting non-original content and sock accounts polluting the tag with what networks really value which is eye-balls reaching the tag and new people either learning or engaging with show/content.
#Walker (1x05, “Duke”)
Looking at the data side by side, you will begin to notice a few differences. Some are intuitive. #DeanCasWedding had more tweets 43.6k to Walker’s Duke 12.3k, and as such they had more tweets and contributors. This makes sense, the hash tag trended longer, and Duke is in episode 5. However look at the reach between each of these campaigns.
Duke’s Walker was able to reach 6.5 Million people, compared to DeanCasWedding’s 3 Million. Again this 12.3K+ tweet hash tag that trended for a handful of hours when the episode aired, was able to out reach a hashtag that trended for 10-11 hours on a Sunday with less competition, and on a day where people have more disposable time. This was also in light of Texas going through a major power outage, and understandable concern in addition to more topics taking light away from Walker (understandably and rightly so I may add).
What this shows is that the individuals who are contributing to the Walker hash tag are diversified, meaning they have different account followings, different accounts who are live tweeting, and that the reach of these individuals is beyond that of Supernatural, and that they are engaging with more people overall. Even though Walker had ~30K less tweets than #DeanCasWedding the economical value of this hash tag is greater because of the reach, and the fact that the contributors are truly diverse from each other (i.e. they are all not retweeting and retargeting towards the same audiences, and double dipping and speaking with the same accounts).
This can be seen in the number of original tweets created during each campaign. Walker’s Duke had 6.2K original tweets for a 12.3K hash tag, while DeanCasWedding had 13.7K original tweets for a 46.3K hash tag.
Here is another interesting factor, the age of the twitter accounts who participated in this hash tag are lower than the DeanCasWedding one, showing the likelihood for less fake accounts. Walker has 18% of these newer accounts, while DeanCasWedding has 26%. Again why does a Destiel have so many users with less than 1 year accounts when the ship has existed for 13 years?
Conclusion
What’s my point with this? Just because something has a high tweet count doesn’t mean it’s actually valuable as a social media campaign. It’s more important to go deeper into the data and understand who is interacting and how they are interacting. The number of tweets is just a small portion of a larger picture.
I’m going to make my last point here because I know the Extreme Destiel fans are children and they will likely only look at the contributors column and boast how they have more people tweet over their campaign (ignoring the fact that it took them weeks for several of the content creators to prepare for the date in question, and that they jumped on the fandom wagon from Samantha and Chad with the Roadhouse AU twitter roleplay), and so I want to dispel the notion here by sharing the Walker Premiere data.
Walker Premiere
As mentioned above the Walker premiere trended for 15 hours on January 21st, peaked at #4 on the Twitter Trending Top 30, and generated 59.6K tweets. As you can see here the total contributors for the premiere far out scale and outweigh any numbers of the Destiel fan made wedding, and ultimately this is the reason why I don’t think any of their smear campaigns, jealousy and angry tweeting matter. The economic value of Walker is more than 7 times greater than the value of Destiel.
When you compare similar scaling trends it’s clear #Walker is way bigger than Destiel is. 9.2K contributors, 5k individuals creating original content during the premiere, a retweet rate of 3-4, and wait for the K.O.
Look at that reach. 102 Million for Walker vs. 3 Million for Destiel. To further add salt to the wound:
Minimal to no bot accounts.

How does one go about making friends?
That’s an interesting question, anon... I suppose it depends on whether you’re talking about on-line or in-person. I can share my experiences with both and hopefully that will provide insight...
(Though I am not really an expert, by any means, I suppose that having friends does make me at least marginally qualified to give advice about it.)
(Also - please assume that any in-person interaction I mention is carried out with ALL appropriate and applicable safety measures in place with regards to the pandemic.)
In-Person
I suppose this sort of friendship could come from school, or church, or on a team, or in a club, or at a party, or any thing where people habitually gather... I usually wait until I hear someone speak on something I know about and then chime in with thoughts and discussion. People like to be listened to. If you want to make friends, try and listen intently (I mean don’t be fake lol but if you are intent on forming a connection then effort is required obviously) and maybe ask questions that will keep them talking (if they seem interested in the topic).
There are often moments that can be shared, like a professor being too hard or some thing silly happening that can be used as conversation starters. Shared micro-experiences like this (and subsequent discussions of them) are excellent building blocks for friendship.
Honestly... being honest about trying to make connections is really good as well. You may feel uncomfortable with that and worry what people think but ... if someone were to say to you, “I would just like to make more friends,” would you look down on them? And if that person does look down on you for this type of honesty... is that really the type of person you want to be friends with anyways? We are social creatures, we should never be ashamed of our desire for connection.
It is important to recognize boundaries in a growing friendship. Adults have many demands on their time and therefore cannot always be available for each other. Respecting this is vital. Empathy in general is vital. This goes for in-person and on-line.
Inviting these individuals to shared experiences is important as well. Come over to play games, let’s go have dinner, let’s just take a walk... etc. It may feel in the beginning like you are initiating all of this, but that is OK seriously, you are the one trying to make the friend after all. My current best friend of 15 years who I would legit charge into a burning building for... she called me every day for weeks. She always asked me to hang out. I was kind of an aspiring hermit at that tender young age, but she was persistent and one day I realized I couldn’t imagine not having her there. Retrospectively I was not pulling my weight in the beginning of our friendship, but she wanted to be my friend so she put in the work. She was my maid of honor. When she struggled with unprecedented challenges after her first child, I took off days of work to be by her side. We have travelled to England and the Bahamas and a ton of states together. Her friendship is one of the most important relationships in my life. I have pulled her back from the edge and she has done the same for me and you don’t get that if someone isn’t willing to put in the work in the beginning. Not everyone is best friend material - it’s true. But some people are.
There is also, I have found, a pervasive habit among humans to seek out a “desirable” friend group. This means completely different things to every person. For some people, they want stereotypical popular friends, for others they want influential friends, for others they want friends who have idealized lifestyles, for others they want friends who have achieved things... Don’t look for anything like this. Look for commonalities instead. We both love BTS. We both love anime. We both love traveling. We both love... whatever. The desirable traits you may be hoping to collect in a friend group are illusions, constructs, and perceptions... They are nothing in the face of one beautiful connection.
On-Line
My closest friends online became my friends when no one read our work (except for Donna, but she is Donna and is therefore the exception to most rules) - as I was saying - we joined a few network and collab chats here and there and shared each other’s stories... We started to talk about our experiences... We bonded over BTS. We talked about fic writers and fics we loved. Eventually we formed our own little server on Discord.
I would definitely recommend joining network chats or joining general discord chats. There are a bunch of them floating around. Kinktae and Gukyi run one of the best ones out there called the BTSSmutHub and it’s fabulous. I have made many friends there. Everyone in there is always willing to talk. They even host game nights and I have so much fun... Truly a lovely group.
Honestly... with Donna ( @taetaewonderland ) - she messaged me and began to talk to me about my work and what she was working on and it grew from there. She was a much bigger blog, but she liked my edits and I liked her.
Ana ( @xjoonchildx ) and Lindy ( @ppersonna ) and I became friends because we were baby blogs with like 7 notes on each of our stories, but we loved each other’s work and we talked to each other about it. No one really reached out to me or wanted to be my friend back then - I had like 6 followers and I’m pretty sure 4 of them were bots... but the three of us would comment on each other’s stuff and share funny memes in our chat boxes and theorize about the drama big blogs that never spoke to us seemed to always post about. We talked about BTS and the content and how our lives were being affected by the pandemic. Donna became friends with Lindy and we merged our little group together.
Those three are special to me. Truly my friends. We have been through things now. Things I never expected, but they remain a constant. We talk every day. The other three are such social butterflies, they have other group chats that they have friends in as well, but I have always been someone who is a little more reserved in general. I love playing in the Smut Hub server now and then and I am close with a few other blogs who I have small chats or small group chats with and I value them so so much. Because... making friends really ISN’T easy. I mentioned those three ladies because they were my very first friends here and they are incredibly close to me still. (Again - to the other blogs I’m close to - I VALUE YOU SO MUCH I AM JUST TALKING ABOUT THESE THREE CAUSE THEY WERE FIRST AND I FEEL LESS SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT NAME DROPPING THEM 🙈🙈)
I would really just try and interact with blogs who like the things you like. Ana, Donna, Lindy and I bonded because we loved the same kind of stories... We sent in asks to each other and shared things on each other’s feed or tagged each other in games. We shared authors we liked and BTS moments we couldn’t get enough of...
Way more people know who Donna, and Lindy, and Ana are now... (though people did know Donna already lolz) They are so talented and it was only a matter of time before more people than myself realized that. I’m so proud of what they have achieved, and watching their blogs grow has been so rewarding to me. I’m so glad they put effort into being my friend. I couldn’t give them influence or share their work with a huge audience, but they never cared about that... I wish everyone in the world could find friends like mine. They are one in a billion.
Find someone who will hype you up. If you’re a creator, find someone who will be honest with you about your work, for better or for worse. If you’re just a blog looking to read and make connections then making lists and recs and reviews of great BTS content like gifs, fics, and whatever BTS puts out for us is a great way to start conversations. Don’t be afraid to interact. It is the universal signal that you want connection of some sort. Not everyone will interact back, but that is fine... I only needed one Ana - one Lindy - one Donna... they were more than enough. If someone is willing to interact with you, then they probably want connection too. I’m so glad that those three didn’t look at me and think “she isn’t really a very impressive blog” and just brush me off.

4. Admin will then contact you, and ask a few questions before the roleplay begins.
Either tell Hyunjin you don’t want to continue the roleplay or stop responding for 48 hours. Admin will contact you and confirm, and if you say yes, the roleplay will cease, and the chat will be deleted.

20 Tumblr Confessions
I got tagged by @quantumlevitation howdy.
Rules: Answer the questions you are comfortable with and ignore the ones you are not and tag 8 people to do the same.
1. When did you Join Tumblr, and when did you become active and started posting (broken down in case if different)?
Back in 2013? 2012? I forget when @some-creep told me “Make one loser”
2. Would you reblog your first ever tumblr post after responding to these questions?
... I mean, maybe??? It’ll be very a product of its time.
3. How many blogs do you follow?
420. Because I like the weed number.
4. How do you find blogs to follow; do you explore Tumblr by topic to find interesting ones, pick from the tags of the ones who look interesting, see them on your dash via current followers - or how?
Dashboard. Dashboard and links sent to me by friends because eventually it piles up into 420 just blaze. It will always become 420 Just Blaze.
5. Do you have any other blogs, and if so why and what are they about?
I had an NSFW blog once. Deleted it after the purge because no one really likes looking at me. I’m boring.
6. How often do you change the theme of your blog and how many themes have you gone through overall (as far as you remember)?
I will never not be a blog dedicated to that one time in the Code Veronica comic when Chris fucking uppercutted a god damn HUNTER with righteous fury.
7. Do you customize your themes or apply a theme as is?
Yes? I don’t recall... I just made myself the blog of Chris decking a Hunter.
8. Do you automatically follow back or do you check the blogs of all your new followers or only if they appear interesting?
I check first usually, just to make sure it isn’t a weird spam porn bot... it’s usually a spam porn bot.
9 How many of the blogs you started following within the first few weeks/months of joining Tumblr do you still follow (all, most, some, hardly any)?
Really all of the ones that didn’t delete or stayed.
10. How actively do you use Tumblr’s messaging system?
I’d use it more if I got proper notifications when I got a message.
11. How many drafts do you have currently saved, or do you post/reblog straight away without saving drafts.
I live fast. Anything in my drafts is there so I can go find it again later!
12. Do you use Queue when posting?
It never works anyway so why would I?
13. Do you use XKit, and if so, what are your favourite features in it?
Once upon a time. I forgot though.
14. Do you use tracked tags, and if so, what are your favourite tags you check most frequently.
I do not...
15. Do you use tracked blogs, and if so, how many blogs you track?
What blogs?
16. Do you keep your Tumblr secret from people you know in real life?
I try. Some people found me once.
17. A) Have you ever blocked anyone? B) Do you have anyone blocked currently, and if so, how many?
I block the porn blog bots anymore. Was blocking all Jacksepticeye blogs going through a tag once for a game because it was all Jacksepticeye. Even blocked the Jacksepticeye tumblr account. Same with pewdiepie stuff because I JUST WANTED THE FANART
18. Are you (to the best of your knowledge) being blocked by anyone, and if so, how many, and do you know why?
Probably. Because I’m fucking amazing, and bitches be jealous.
19. Do you use blacklist, and if so, what do you blacklist against?
I did once upon a time, to block those YouTuber tags from being in certain game tags, like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, The Walking Dead TellTale and Wolf Among Us TellTale once upon a time.
20. Have you ever made a RL friend through Tumblr, someone who you have also met in real life?
Nope. No one fucking lives near Indiana because Indiana is a sinkhole of scared MAGA folk and public transit is non-existent.
I tag uhhh... fuckin’..
@viobliterator @hundinfaust @as-sweetasmilk @jojohko @digital-slime and literally you reading this. Yes I see you, lookin’ ass.

Gift
Shicca Week 2020
Day 1 - Day 2 - Day 3
Day 4: Prompt: Gifts
Rating: K+
Word Count: 2533
Genre: Romance/Humor
"Why don't you kiss Shiki?"
As soon as the question had slipped out, Rebecca froze, her mouth dropping open and all the blood rushed to her face at once as she blushed a deep scarlet. There is a short circuit in her mind as she tries to place the thought in her mind. Her mind refuses to comprehend where this came from.
The girls of the Eden's Zero crew were currently seated in Rebecca's bedroom, having a girl's night out, playing games and chatting away. While initially it was just a fun time relaxing with the crew after dinner, occasionally, they would force Weisz Shiki, Happy and Moscoy (to their great reluctance) to have a boy's night, just so that the girls could have some girly time. Today had been one of those nights, and they were playing a card game when the topic shifted to Shiki's birthday, which was tomorrow. The team had been planning a party for him secretly under the wraps, to surprise him the next evening, as he himself didn't seem to remember his birthday.
Rebecca had been pondering about what she could gift Shiki. She was thinking of dropping by Blue Garden before the party and purchasing a new pair of headphones or the latest game on the market. She even considered making a handmade gift by following one of the DIY B-cubers out there, but decided otherwise, taking into account her lack of creativity and patience.
But then, Homura declared that she had bought him headphones too, while Hermit had already downloaded a new video game for him. Everyone seemed to be ready with their gifts for Shiki and Rebecca was quickly running out of options and ideas.
That's when Hermit made the suggestion.
"That's a good idea." Homura nodded to the twin-tailed android, and placed another card on the pile.
"Perfect, even." Hermit adds, bobbing her head solemnly. Everyone seemed perfectly nonchalant about the whole idea except Rebecca.
Rebecca shook her head fervently, "How exactly is that a good idea?"
The Four Shining Stars of the Eden's Zero plus Pino, look up at her in unison, their expressions indiscernible. Feeling self-conscious, Rebecca blurted nervously, "Wh-What is it? Why are you all looking at me like that?"
All at once, they turned away, and none of them spoke.
"What was that about?" Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows quizzically.
"Well, we thought you already knew about it." Hermit makes a dull expression, placing the next card.
"Huh? Know about what?" Rebecca pushes further.
"That you have a crush on Master Shiki." Pino answers and plays her turn.
There is silence in the room and then Rebecca bursts out like a volcano, "What did you say?!" She blushes tenfold, "Wh-Where did you get such an idea!?"
Homura eyes Rebecca, "We thought it was really obvious."
"O-obvious?" Rebecca falls short of words upon this revelation.
"Yeah, frustratingly obvious," Sister huffed, placing her card on the pile.
"B-But I don't-" Rebecca puts down her cards as she squirms uncomfortably.
"Well, you do like him, don't you?" Hermit asks, and smiles as she placed her card, just 2 cards away from winning the game.
Rebecca sighed, "I do like him... but... " she fingers the playing cards, deep in thought.
Of course she liked him. How could anyone not like him? He was extremely cute and funny and always went out of his way to help people. He was so honest and kind, with the ability to see good in everyone and everything. He always managed to turn around any situation, and never gave up on his friends.
"Well?" the Eden's Zero crew was staring at her.
"I don't know." Rebecca concluded, her eyes downcast, "I don't understand anything about romance, okay? I don't even know what Shiki feels about me."
Sure, Shiki was kind to her, and called her a friend. But she couldn't deny that there were moments some where he made her so special, his actions making her heart flutter every now and then. She was so grateful to him, always there for her; rushing to save her like when she had been kidnapped and sent to Guilst or when she had been captured by Drakken Joe; comfort her whenever she felt down, and made her feel like herself. Even his few words and actions managed to make her feel good.
"While it's true that you don't know what Shiki feels about you," Witch finally breaks her silence as she picks out a card from her pile and places it before them, "You do know about your own feelings. And when you do, you should act on them before you regret it." She looks up at Rebecca, smiling softly, "Your turn."
And before she realized it, she couldn't remember what it was like before Shiki tumbled into her life. She couldn't even think about the future without his stupid and radiant smiling face.
"I detect an intense pulse rate." Pino reports, "Miss Rebecca, are you okay?"
"I'm...fine" Rebecca trails, her lips curling into a smile as she thinks of Shiki.
"Well, will you take up the suggestion then?" Sister leans in raising a brow.
Rebecca finds herself blushing again, "It’s not like I'm not against it or anything... "
"Well hurry up then." Before she knows it, the Four Shining Stars are pulling her up on her feet and shoving her towards the door. "Wh-What?" Rebecca yells in disbelief.
"You can't keep him waiting!" Homura says seriously.
"His birthday is tomorrow! Why now?" Rebecca struggles against their strength.
"Our plan requires-" Pino is cut off as Hermit quickly covers the little bot's mouth. "It's just twenty minutes to twelve o'clock, so it's the same." Hermit insisted while she throws a look at Pino.
"Shiki's in the flight deck, right now." Witch informs her, aware of every presence on the ship.
"Wait a moment-" Rebecca protests as the shove her out of the room.
"Good luck!" they chant at once and close the door.
Rebecca stands there by herself in the corridor of the sleeping quarters. What did she get herself into?

"So let me get this straight," Shiki crosses his arms around his chest as he ponders, "You can't kiss friends?"
Weisz sighes maybe for the millionth time as he ruffles his head in frustration. He knew it was a bad idea when they started watching a sci-fi movie that suddenly took a romantic turn with a subplot between the two leads. And with Shiki's unending curiosity, he couldn't even enjoy the movie in peace. He was left with schooling the boy, about things Weisz certainly did not want to discuss with, especially with a guy. "Technically you can. But there's a different type of kiss for that."
"There are different types of kisses?" Shiki looked even more confused than ever.
"Yes, Shiki." Weisz set down the tub of popcorn. "Now, can we continue the movie, please?"
"What kind of kisses? Can you show them?" Shiki looked at Weisz eagerly with big eyes and leaned towards him.
"Good grief." Happy lets out a laugh at Shiki's inquisitiveness and Weisz's growing discomfort.
"No, you idiot!" Weisz grunted as he scoots away, his cheeks heating up in embarrassment, "Get away!"
Shiki frowns deeply, "Why not?"
"Because-" Weisz looks away, "Because you kiss only people you like, okay?" he answers bashfully and hopes this answer satisfies him.
"People you like?" Shiki tilts his head in thought. Not even a moment passed as Shiki declares, "But I like you, Weisz! You're my friend! Don't you like me Weisz?" Shiki makes a happy, innocent face as Weisz face palms. He feels as though he will age a hundred years and the curiosity of this boy alone was going to cause all this hair to turn grey and fall, just like his older counterpart.
He ignores his last question and tries to get it through his thick, clueless head, "You can't just kiss everyone, thwomp-boy. It has to be a person you like...rather, a person you love mutually. A person who's special to you."
"Eh... " Shiki trails off again. "But Weisz-"
"Alright I'm out! I'm off to bed." Weisz declares before Shiki can ask anything more.
"What about the movie?" Happy asks and Weisz waves his hand dismissively, "Lost interest in it already."
Shiki watches him leave and then taps his chin in thought. He sighs and then turns off the projector.
"Don't over think it so much, Shiki." Happy's cheerful voice breaks the silence. "It's not that complicated, I'm sure."
Moscoy nods in agreement, "Nothing to worry, Moscoy!"
Shiki grins at the two android bots, "Thanks!"
"I guess it's time we go to bed too." Happy rubs his eyes tiredly. "Rebecca and the others must have winded up by now too." Happy jumps off the sofa and proceeds to leave. Before they take their leave, he asks, "Aren't you coming along, Shiki?"
"Nah, you go ahead." Shiki waves, still grinning.
"Alright, good night!" they chant as they leave.
Rebecca walks in a few minutes later, and watches as Shiki is silently gazing outside the window, into the Sakura cosmos. At the sound of her soft footsteps, Shiki turns to look. "Rebecca!" he chirps happily. "You're still awake?"
"Yeah..." Rebecca smiles nervously. He eagerly pats the space beside him, urging her to sit. She chews her bottom lip nervously and sits beside him on the sofa overlooking the galaxy.
Ugh, curse the Four Stars of Eden to make her feel so overly self-conscious.
"Did you guys have fun?" Shiki asks Rebecca, his face wrinkling cutely as he smiled.
Rebecca was having a hard time controlling her erratic heartbeat, "Uh-huh." she answered. She wants to look away, but she is unable to, mesmerized by the warmth and gentleness in his expression.
"What did you do?" Shiki inquires giving her his full attention, making her half wish that he wouldn't look at her so intensely.
"Um, nothing. We just played some games... And chatted a bit." she replied curtly.
"I see." she breathes in relief as he turns to observe the galaxy spread before them. They are engulfed in silence, except for the incessant pounding in her ears. She wills herself to calm down. This was just Shiki, her best friend. She didn't have to worry about anything.
Her heart almost leaps out of her chest as Shiki abruptly throws her a question, "Say Rebecca, have you kissed anyone before?"
"What?" Rebecca splutters, wondering if she heard him correctly. "Wh-Why would you ask that?"
Shiki scratches his head, "Well, it's just... Weisz was saying that you kiss only special people... " he trails off, suddenly he notices that his palms are a bit sweaty, and his heart pounds weirdly.
Rebecca urges him to continue, "And..?"
"And I was wondering, how do you know who is that special someone?" Shiki blurts out and then exhales deeply, running a hand through his hair.
Besides his serious expression, Rebecca finds herself giggling. Shiki looks at her and blushes self- consciously, "Why are you laughing?" he pouts.
"Sorry-its just...you looked kind of funny." And adorable, she added in her head.
As the room falls silent once again, Shiki mutters again, "Well?"
Rebecca swallows deeply, wondering how she could answer his question. "Well, somewhere in the depths of your heart, you just know, you know." she smiles softly, fixing her gaze at their reflection on the glass of the window, aware that his eyes are fixed on her. "They make you happy and comfortable. They bring out the best in you, support you and... "
"And?" Shiki asks eagerly.
She pushes her face to look at him, "And then one day, you realize that you can't imagine your life without them." she finishes, her voice reduced to a soft whisper.
Shiki's pulse quickens a bit at the tender look on her face and his stomach drops a little. With the glow of the stars on her face, those gentle sapphire eyes shining, she looked so heavenly. What had gotten over him? He didn't remember feeling so... nervous...so jittery around Rebecca.
He quickly looks away, back at the window, staring at the scattered stars. "I-I see." he replies shortly.
They gaze upon the universe together, the big world before them, so many things yet to be discovered, infinite possibilities, adventures waiting to be unraveled by them, so many friends yet to make. But Shiki was happy enough that Rebecca was with him, here, right now by his side.
He smiles as he spots a shooting star far away, or perhaps that was a dragon? It didn't stop a wide grin from spreading in his face, "Look!" he points excitedly. "Doesn't it look so pretty?"
Just then, the clock struck twelve with a chime.
"Rebecca?" Shiki turned to look at her. His eyes widened as Rebecca grabbed his face and pressed her lips against his. She pulls back before he can react, her face is adorned with a pink blush and a little grin, "Happy Birthday, Shiki."
Shiki blinks in realization and before they know it, he pulls her in his arms and they kiss again, a bit sloppily, their hands pulling at each other's hairs, trying to deepen the kiss. When they pull back, they blush awkwardly but with a look at their messy hairs, they burst out laughing.
"I think that kiss needs some work." Rebecca giggles softly.
"I think so too." Shiki grins sheepishly. "We have a lot of time to fix that." He drapes an arm around her shoulder and pulls her close.
Her cheeks turn red again and she wraps herself around his torso in a hug, pressing her ear to his chest. "You're right." she closes her eyes and hears his heartbeat, relishing in his warmth.
"Was that my birthday gift?" Shiki asks as his other hand reaches out to hers.
Rebecca nods shyly, "Yes...Are you happy?"
"Of course I'm happy!" Shiki answered in a heartbeat and Rebecca finds her cheeks heating up again. "I had forgotten that it was my birthday, though..." he trails off and Rebecca stifles a chuckle, excited for him for the things they had planned for him tomorrow.
"Rebecca?" He calls her name.
"Hm?" she hums, trying to imagine his reaction to the surprise party.
His fingers trace patterns on the back of her hand, "Since it's my birthday, can I ask for one more thing?"
"What is it?" she smiles against his chest.
"Can you wear that super sheer maid outfit-" Before Shiki can complete, Rebecca's fist meets his jaw immediately as she yells, "In your dreams, you pervert!"
She crosses her arms and turns her head in annoyance, as she fumes, "Hmph. You totally ruined that moment!"
Shiki nurses his jaw and still manages to chuckle, "Rebecca-"
"I don't wanna hear it!" She huffs in irritation.
Outside the room, the Eden's Zero crew stands with their ears pressed to the slightly ajar door.
"That idiot...." Weisz shakes his head and chuckles.
"I sense lust." Pino reports nonchalantly.
The Four Shining Stars fist bump each other, "Mission successful, you guys." Hermit smirks in victory.
"Was it really successful, Moscoy?" Moscoy mutters uncertainly.
Happy shakes his head with a smile, "Good grief!"

A/n: because lets admit it, the whole of the eden’s zero crew is definitely shipping the two of them already :D I love the idea of the Four Shining stars playing match-maker xD
This one is the longest of all the one-shots I’ve submitted before. I really had a lot of fun putting all the characters in this story. Weisz is definitely fun to write. I want to write a story with him soon.

🥺😔☀️💓❤️💓
a rambly all-over-the-place personal note! Incase you just want to hear from me and talk to me!! I know i’ve been gone for a while so if any followers old/new wants to hear what I actually say when Im not answering posts, here it is! 💓❤️💓
the main point so you don’t have to see any of the mess: any asks that talks to me like im google will be deleted!
note: the main part of this isn’t even about the above so if u’re looking for drama or me angsting you may not find it here!! i think i sound more like im fatigued and on my last brain cells.. talking about everything and being v sappy and mellow.. so!!! 💓❤️💓 no drama. not here! not today!
ok now, consider:
what do u guys think about me just taking it easy... i dont know if you’ve been here for a while or for long.. but I usually do pretty detailed research posts?? about topics like moon phase in astrology, basics on essential dignitaries, etc.
Astrology ‘topics’... stuff like ‘what is x chart what does it mean’ or ‘what is x concept how does it work’ -- not about placements usually!!! 💓❤️💓Asks about placements I just answer for fun from my inbox.. but posts I actually make.. those are the type of things!!! 💓❤️💓
And well.. I just came back.. not in the mindset right now.. so i was thinking.. would u be ok/interested if i take a break from those posts and maybe post more idol astrology stuff?? nothing serious, I just want to have fun and talk about placements and gush over people who may have similar placements to us and how good they are + how we can learn from them...
Its just fun stuff?? very light-hearted (dont talk to me about crying through them sometimes, bc theyre so good even when i see harsh aspects/them going through manifestation of that throughout their careers) -- idk!! I just want to maybe talk about girls for a while and like, ask people to love girls and support/appreciate girl groups and asian soloists and artists...
idk!! just a thought.. like.. i’ll still answer astro stuff and maybe i’ll slip astro posts in there as well.. 90% of my blog is still main astro stuff.. just that 10% maybe i’ll do more idol readings.. it lifts my spirits and i like talking about them!! i know its a niche in tumblr, esp the kpop gg astro stuff.. but like... girls...!!! and seventeen members (im nearly done oh my god theres 3 more left!!!)
I know i put a lot of effort into the bangtan readings bc theyre like-- the semi between my usual intense stuff and the light-hearted ones so im-- probably not gonna touch them yet (for now) -- I always have high expectations for them because they have to be a certain Standard. There’s alot of great bangtan astro posts out there -- part of that is also v pressuring. But another part is that I want to contribute to something in the community as well! That is like, new and welcomed and good and Not Bad... so... I’m holding off bc I have to have like, a week to actually write, edit, re-edit, check myself before I (usually) publish them.. so... this is ur warning my bts inner readings wont be coming out soon!!
im just talking about gg stuff -- or other idols, thinking about twice and gfriend and oh my god.... girl groups...
I rmb I used to do it to promote solo artists that might not have gotten alot of attention as well.. I still have drafts about Bolb4.. now consider: younha... also consider: xiao zhan, wang yibo... oh my god... but what if-- idk!!! idk!!!!!!
Anyways I just want to let u know whats been on my mind!!! I honestly dont really know? I posted the bangtan answer today (with a warning beforehand) and AS SOON AS I PUBLISHED 4 people left -- to be honest its pretty funny,,, its kinda funny right?? i think its funny,,, like kpop repellent,, but also i Get it!!! its not for u its ok dont take this social media thing so seriously... its fine i do it all the time too, dont feel guilty over blocking or unfollowing someone - do it as soon as you feel uncomfy tbh its a safe place for u make it ur safe spot!!
But!! Yeah!! 💓❤️💓 Idol things, thoughts? 💓❤️💓
And this is not related but I was looking at old questions/asks in my inbox (some that ive alrdy answered but its still there -- like 6 asks? so thats... 6 out of the current 122 asks oof) and people are So Nice and So Polite to me!!!! amazing!!! fortunate!!!! One lucky bitch!!!!! Thats me!!!! Im the lucky bitch, who?? people are just so courteous towards when they request or asks for something?? wow---
Its only like, half way in the middle of my old asks that I realize once its more mainstream astro ppl start sending asks in like im google search... rip anyone who does that i deleted the ask bc i have a faq.. my only rule is that be nice.. not playing by the rules!!!!!
Its also a little introspective to think about it now.. how back then when I didn’t realize it was happening I carried through and answered them anyways bc like... atleast people were asking?? they’re curious?? right?? keep the public fed! there’s people out there who does enjoy my actual answer than the ask itself...but like... now that i’m back and Refreshen: any asks that talks to me like im google will be deleted. I’ll quote this and put it up before the read more so thats the main meat of this long rant!! 💓❤️💓
basically what im saying about all this is: don’t let people treat you that way, or anyway you don’t feel absolutely positively happy about. I’m still keeping some asks that I do want to answer/I think can be turned into great points. But marie-kondo yourself, you don’t deserve to be treated like someone’s encyclopedia, dictionary or google!!!!!
they don’t really care, and it doesn’t really matter if you answer or not -- bc they can just type in the same thing to other astrologer out there and mayb someone will hit it and answer for them. So!!!! dont compromise, delete anything that doesn’t treat u like human. Bc u’re not a bot!!!! Do better!!! This is from future nita to past nita!!! Do better!!! This is why u burnt out and went awol for like a month!!!!!!!! Dont let this happen again or get into the habit, cry to ur friends!!! Ask ur beta for help!!!!!!! Add some people in as ur admin so they can clearly tell u what is right and whats wrong!!!!! dummie you’re too soft and kind!!!!! stop making excuses for others!!!!!!! do better in 2020!!!!!
So this is my rambling over!!! Answered 42 asks in my queue, know that around 30 of them have already been posted. That’s 72 done today!! Not to mention the 30 yesterday -- I was v dumb and didn’t close the ask box, thus I had +10 asks in my inbox today but its ok!!!!!!! Let the people Speak!!!! I’ll post this PSA now and go I hope u enjoy hearing from me even if I’m just rambling -- love u!! take care of urself!!! i hope this helps or entertain anyone who’s looking to know me better or hear some words from me personally!!!! this is me, signing out!!!
#personal#this is honestly just me rambling#open at ur own risk#its v risky#i use many exclaimation marks#and also im on my last brain cell

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
( I will not, I will pick all my muses, how dare- I’ll leave everything except this blog + my other Sona blog out, for length’s sake.) long post, so it’s under the cut.
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES-ish / NO. ( people who like her like her, and people who don’t... really don’t. )
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated? YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO / MAYBE ?
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO / MAYBE ?
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
How strictly do you follow canon? — lol. I take inspiration from canon, let’s put it that way.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — Your local patron saint of lost causes, a heroic entity who has overcome betrayal and judgement to become an existence that can save the world. Also she’s tall and strong and hot and nice, what more could you want? Huh? You want more than being hugged by a 6′4″ lady??? Sona can also be in various countries, and can participate very easily in fluff, angst, and all sorts of other types of threads.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — Lots of angst and drama, a bit of a loner with a distant vibe. Having no etwahl and not playing music kills the interest and ‘usual interactions’ for a lot of people, and being mute & not jumping to telepathy can make threads dry and slow. Being a ‘sexy boob lady’ ( u g h ) also has painted her in a certain light - I’ll never forget that someone said that ‘ofc everyone ships with Sona, she’s the village bicycle.’ I’ve made her exceptionally strong ( almost overpowered ), and that doesn’t jive with people sometimes - shoving in all these themes that I personally like and crafting an interesting story of a divine / demonic seer witch who doesn’t know what to do with herself, is finally ‘too strong’, and finds power distasteful... The themes can be a little depressing and cold, even when she acts nice. And seeing “Even though she feels nothing, she still acts nice” in character can feel... tiring. A mute is not an easy person to write with, and I don’t shy away from trying to give the impression that ‘waiting for Sona to communicate can be tiring’ - because I want my readers and mutuals to feel the kinds of things she goes through everyday. While I try to make the blog accessible, Sona has a speech disability, and that can be tiring.
Also that she doesn’t act like a fancy noble... I don’t know. I feel like the way that I write her is very, very different to the fandom’s impression of her, and that leaves people disillusioned. “This isn’t what I expected or signed up for.” She’s just not that person... And because she doesn’t speak, a lot of prompts are off limits. I’ve also recently reset because I wanted to emphasize that she is patient, grim, and secretive while still being kind. I’ve toned down her tendency for mischief a lot, she used to be an absolute gremlin.
A lot of these things also apply to my other Sona blog ( @virtuous-dignity ), where she is extremely structured and self-confident and a bit of a recluse, so while she’s much much nicer, she’s also a complete hardass. It’s rough stuff, especially since I make sure to point out, “hey this Sona practices music over 8 hours every day.” “Hey this Sona finds it morally wrong to play music for small audiences.” There are certain traits that just cut ideas in the bud.
What inspired you to rp your muse? — I played Sona a lot in bot lane. Multiple years of sexist remarks, shitty writing, and bad characterization made me frustrated. A lot of things were left unexplained and the etwahl felt like too much of a focus that I could not answer, “who is Sona besides a musician with a fancy instrument”. She has to be someone, right? But we never get to that in the story ( nor in the apparent upcoming lore rework either... ). She has to be someone, her being a famous musician is not everything. So I forcibly tossed aside the music part, especially to also prevent accidentally being pulled into ‘your music is so pretty’ plots. Plus: I wanted to write a character with an internal conflict who was going through some things but wanted to be nice anyway - I believe in that idea a lot. And I wanted to write a character that, tbh, could ship and flirt and just... be flirty and easy going more ( hah! didn’t work out so great now! ). My first canon characters were a ‘left by the void Malz’ dealing with his sins and Ori, who I talk about below, and neither were really great for getting that flirty vibe out. I also really wanted to emphasize that... Well, to be blunt, that if I wrote Sona as sexually promiscuous, that wasn’t a bad thing. That ‘being sexy’ and ‘sex positive’ did not equal ‘objectified tiddy witch’ and ‘perfect candidate for oppai mouse pad’ and other things I’ve heard directed at me in my league experience. Many, many things. Ugh. It kind of did end up turning into a thing where Sona herself draws an interesting line between ‘haha I can tell everyone’s looking at me with those eyes and it’s the fucking worst’ and ‘ok but I trust you and am in bed with you, so I want you to grab me’ - but that’s getting more into ns/fw topics so I’ll leave it there.
What keeps your inspiration going? — All my characters tend to be expressions of myself, as well as answering important thematic questions, like “What does it mean to be rejected by your home and no longer have a place”, and some other stuff. I usually go back to that. Plus, exploring concepts around abandonment and loneliness is something I do a lot with her - feelings of neglect and disillusionment, and ideas surrounding “do I need to like someone or be liked by someone to treat them with dignity”. ( virtuous-dignity, on the other hand, was created because I wanted to write something as soft and uwu as possible, and then it turned into something about ‘balancing dignity for oneself with duty to others’ and handling those kinds of conflicts. )
I also really do enjoy, on some level, turning people around on these characters. “You made me care about character x” is such high praise.
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO.
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. ( idk, how many of you think robots are hot- )
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. ( I think people downplay Ori’s intelligence a lot, but Riot also casually implied she did open heart surgery on herself so??? )
— hahahahahahaha. hah. hah. Sorry. Everything I write is divergent by default.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — A genius inventor and cute spherical robot duo who speak to other robots and shoot lightning, run around acting cute, and try to save their city one step at a time - all while dealing with deep existential dread and fighting off a fate that decrees Ori’s death. Between ‘pancake bot’ and Ori being an accidental flirt, there’s plenty of variety and development here as my oldest canon muse. Not to mention that the blog ‘grows’ and ‘changes’, and in the last year, Ori has taken to dying her hair pink ( because Vi is cool is why, just don’t let her near a rifle or she’ll try to imitate Cait ). I also regularly think about / draw different hairstyles and clothing styles. Ori is very much ‘alive’, the most so out of the three muses on this blog. A human that has the memories of being a robot, trying to live on and live a good life. Also, there are bird, angel, and time themes. So many clocks. Mega clocks!
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — Deep angst and existential dread, because she knows her fate is to die and she’s cheated time. Themes of dysphoria and other troubling topics abound. Being stuck in time loops, thinking she’s an aberration, needing crutches because her legs stop working, etc.
Also, removing the fact that she is a robotic automaton is a bunch of the appeal of Ori. Or well, it’s what makes her character ‘interesting and unique’ to many. Without that, she is ‘yet another Zaunite’, as the thing that made her most interesting was her death and rebirth. ( Nevermind that her entire story is that she’s a selfless person but- I’m supposed to act like she’s bad, right? )
What inspired you to rp your muse? — Hey remember when institute of war was a thing? And then when it wasn’t? And Ori’s lore was “died to a turret shot trying to be a champion”... and then it was up in the air for two years?
That’s why. If no one else will love her, I will. She deserves better. And then the lore became close to my lore so I rewrote everything a second time trying to stick to the themes I had.
Ori’s thematic question is, “What do you do when you don’t recognize yourself anymore? How do you get back to ‘okay’ and what do you do from there?” It’s a pretty dim question that has a lot to do with body image, but also to do with abandonment and neglect, and just dropping out of people’s lives. I think that’s something that people can really relate to. I originally wrote her on a multi with a ‘post void Malz’, who was dealing with the trauma of being puppeted around for years and all the things he had done, trying to get back to ‘okay’ without getting killed. More below:
What keeps your inspiration going? — Themes as noted above, Ori is super cute, and a lot of my art & general ideas. I’ve kind of turned these three characters in borderline OCs and keep developing them as they grow... Sometimes I think the stories and concepts I’ve written have outgrown the fandom. And thinking about her, and how she would live, and what her story is... mmm.
Also, the themes I write... I think they matter. Maybe it’s not obvious to anyone but myself, but writing a character who feels dysphoria and hates their body for ‘betraying them’... is relatable. It’s not nice. It’s not simple. But it’s relatable and it matters. Ori’s theme on this blog has a lot to do with “fighting a fate that says you’re going to lose and defying expectations” as well as “coming back from something wicked and rotten in your psyche/body”. And I do write some other skin verses for her but they’re all adapted to meet that theme. ( For example, in SG, she rises to guardian after finding out she’s fated to become a dark star and fights that fight alone, because ‘hell no she’s not going to go dark’. This was 5+ years ago back when there were theories SG and DS were same universe. )
Mostly it’s writing about these themes of expectation and reality. Overprotective parent, absentee parent, dealing with trauma... All my writing is like that. It can make my characters seem overly tragic, yes, but these ideas are not so far gone that they’re completely irrelevant and beyond belief. I’m sure many people have experienced emotional exhaustion and problems with body image. Even though I do write ‘polite but ready to fight’ characters only... Well, I believe in exploring and expressing these kinds of problems. Inner conflict and all. But also fluff! Fluff is really nice! Talk to her about pancake robot.
I also really do enjoy, on some level, turning people around on these characters. “You made me care about character x” is such high praise.
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. ( post rework??? oh my god )
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. ( hard to consider ‘martial’ characters strong when Xer/ath and Syn/dra exist )
Are they underrated? YES / NO. ( she’s a little overrated, isn’t she? )
— I still draw from old lore with her big four blades of doom and ‘reviving’ with the help of Raka ( though I leave it vague / easy to gloss over ). I also had a lot of ideas about music and rhythm and tradition before the update ( drums were a big thing for her, so strong percussive beats and motions reign over the more silk and ribbon dances that flow more, drawing on things like Zelos existing, Lito’s lessons & harsh behavior, and her own internalized habits of trying to calm herself ), so I draw on those a ton. For me, the progression is ‘classic’ -> ‘infiltrator / nightblade ‘ -> ‘aviator’ all as one timeline. Also wrote her as being ‘missing in action’, which makes the awaken cinematic weird. I also really try to emphasize that she’s an emotionally stunted wardog with scars and not ultra pretty, so.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — A world traveler and a wardog, you can find her anywhere, any time, ready to kick some butt and enjoy the local food. Her simmering fury is a counterpoint to her relatively muted demeanor and adventurous spirit. However you may find her, there’s a definite charm to being flown up above the clouds to watch a sunset and talk. She will fly you where you need to be.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — I’m a little stuck on old lore and writing Lia as a character that has “left behind” her past and is pretending to be dead does make certain interactions tough. She’s also a deeply stunted character, emotionally, and I write her ten years of experience as having chilled her to a cold, ever burning ember rather than a passionate flame. Also, ‘aviator’ is kind of weird to handle for a lot of people.
What inspired you to rp your muse? — This one is really simple. When this blog started, the only splash where Irelia was smiling was the aviator splash. That’s it. That as the whole reason. “I want her to be happy and have found her happiness.”
What keeps your inspiration going? — I will admit that Lia is the character that I give the least attention to out of these three, and part of it is because I don’t really do flirting or shipping with her as much. She’s not one to reach out to others, and there are a lot of popular Lia blogs to the point that when I, as a multi, write with someone... She probably isn’t the first pick.
But I just... want her to be happy. That’s it. As I mentioned with the Ori section, what I’ve worked out for her has kind of outgrown the fandom itself, she’s become a different entity. Her themes largely involve recovery and finding oneself anew, and writing a character that is passionate about others while still being cool-headed is some of the variety I need. Because Lia is ace/homosexual, she sits out on a lot of the flirty content, but the chances I get to write her being romantic and caring... my god. Just a few posts back and forth with @unholyshe ‘s Akali and a So/na I used to write with....... Unforgettable. ( On that note go follow @unholyshe what a good writer, gosh dang. ) It’s these small interactions I find intensely compelling, and having a ‘quiet intensity’ and really thinking about her body language...
Also it’s nice to write a character with little secret agenda, who is just straightforward. “Will I enjoy kissing you? Only one way to find out. ‘It was okay.’ “ A ‘the only way forward is through, just do it’ attitude is refreshing.
------------------
Learning to write all three characters helps me write the others: The little things I think about that are specific to each person really help me out for the others. The depth of using body language from Sona bleeds into how Lia uses body language, and how Ori doesn’t ( even common ticks ), etc etc. Ori’s blunt, observational style of speaking ( telling you that you look good like it’s an observational fact ) helps me understand how to be straightforward with Lia.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice? YES …? / NO. ( sometimes I do get very anxious abt it, esp. since I’m so divergent and do things like ‘so/na is one part succubus lol’ )
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO. ( do excerpts count? less headcanons and more musings, since I’m on like 5+ years with 2/3 of these. )
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO. ( time is not a thing but I used to write a ton, my drabble energy goes to novels now )
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO. ( this is why you see mobile posts from me constantly, and so many excerpts / musings ).
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO. ( It’s what I want but it can also be disillusioning / disappointing to people so. Dunno. Anxiety. =/ )
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO. ( It takes me a bit to warm up to a character again, but yes. I know my writing is not bad but I can be a little insecure about it. )
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO. ( Very. I cry a lot and I get upset pretty easily. Sometimes I end up being really cold instead but idk. )
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal? — To a point. Sometimes criticism is irrelevant or meaningless, or is just personal taste. “Sona shouldn’t be that strong” isn’t helpful ( but thinking about ways to pare down the complexity is good! ) Sometimes I get criticism that is the equivalent of tasting a chocolate cake and going, “It should have been vanilla, I like vanilla better.” That’s cool, but that has nothing to do with the taste of the chocolate cake I made. ( Ori as a human isn’t interesting, talk more about Sona & the etwahl even though it’s broken, Lia flying doesn’t make sense, etc - these are foundational flavors, so what can I do? ).
Also sometimes people make comments that make me feel they’re just being petty / catty and not sincere. I’ve seen quite a few hypocritical comments and it’s hard to take them seriously. So, yes, but ‘to a point’... Mostly I take suggestions, which I then talk about for the muse. Exploring those ideas. Unsolicited criticism is... hmm. In my experience, about half of it isn’t constructive. And from the wrong person, it can sound judgemental.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character? — Of course? I love asks. Always. Great. Awesome. If I have a chance to draw to answer these asks, even better.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — Not really. I’m divergent, they probably disagree because they have a different vision for the character. I’ll be honest here and say I’ve had enough people tell me that “my portrayals are not what they expected” that this can be... disheartening. I usually have a good reason for 80% of my hcs. If we’re talking in IMs though or just conversing, I’m totally fine with it. This comes back to unsolicited criticism - to be a little blunt, some people just straight up don’t know what they’re talking about. And given that I put a bunch of effort in trying to make sure most of my headcanons can be glossed over, so it doesn’t cause conflict and my ‘ultra grim take’ doesn’t cause the end times... I dunno. I’d rather that someone tell me “the kind of interactions they want”, so I can lean into that direction. If you just want fluff, I can leave most of my darker hcs for So/na at the door... But you need to tell me that, so I can work with you.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — just leave? huh? I mean, I already know people disagree. If you’re not rude, then we’ll just move on and be chill. Otherwise... well, we won’t be chill and you can still go, but I’ll consider you a dick. I don’t expect everyone to agree with “Ori is a human”, but why bring that up to me?
This is why a lot of the time, when people talk about characters and my muses, my brain defaults to “Well that has nothing to do with me.” Why should I invest any time being upset that people are disappointed with my portrayal or I’m not what they expected. It’s exhausting. People have some really strong opinions about Lia and Sona sometimes, but... ‘that has nothing to do with me.’ There’s no point in trying to convince someone to try your flavor of ice cream when they’ve already decided what flavor and toppings they want. It just leads to tremendous insecurity. I should not have to argue that ‘my portrayal is worth paying attention to’.
Ugh. I might be too sensitive about this. There was a point where people really got in the habit of saying, “this is how character x is” ( not their muse ), and it felt like someone trying to enter my kitchen. It did not feel like a suggestion or an idea. It was an assertive, “this is how Irelia is” by, say... a Ry/ze or Ken/nen blog or something. That felt extremely isolating and alienating to me, because it felt like I could not participate in that conversation at all. Or stuff after. I had to sideline myself, because... that has nothing to do with me or my interpretations. Ofc griping at them is wrong because I know they mean, ‘this is how I see it’, but ye. I’m short tempered and easily upset. Working on it.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — um? bye? hello?
god I used to go “ ok that’s cool you don’t like my portrayal, here are some other great So/na blogs that I love” but I realized that I was directing someone who felt the need to tell me my portrayal or character is bad to those people... and no. no no no. I still feel a little guilty about it, because thinking I directed a toxic person to my duplicates... yuck.
If you don’t like the characters, or you don’t like my divergent takes, that’s fine. I get it’s not for everyone. Just unfollow me. You’re not paying me. You’re not under any obligation. To an extent, i don’t mind being critical of the character, but there’s a difference between being critical and being hateful to someone’s muse? And it depends a lot on how close I am with a person. For example, I think Sy/las is a complete scumbag and I hate him, but I don’t go yelling that to every Sy/las blog I see. C’mon.
Another bit of salt but it’s... kind of a sad topic, really. There are some characters people love to hate, whereas other ones get the ‘protection squad’. And in general it’s really disheartening to see someone shittalk Lux every two weeks, but go ‘these other champs are off limits’. If you have that attitude, it makes me think you’ll shittalk my characters the moment they get popular ( COUGHIRELIACOUGH ) and that’s kind of sad. And mean. So general advice on this is: Probably just don’t tell someone you hate their muse, you know? Idk. Everyone has their own tolerance level too so. meh.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — Somewhat. Not much to say here, sometimes I am very tired, sometimes I comma splice like a madman, sometimes I overuse hyphen dashes to avoid deciding whether to use a comma, period, or semicolon - like this. I don’t need an editor. English is my first language. But if there’s something egregious or you have tips, let me know? I’m someone who looks up grammar rules regularly, and breaks teh rules just as regularly. Knowing when and how to break grammar rules is useful. Though I do tend to... overuse something once I’ve learned it. Hyphen dash, I’m looking at you.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun? — Yes and no. I’m chill, I can be a little overly passionate, and I’m pretty quick to apologize... But I have certain moral standards and if you break those, you’re done. Also I can be a vengeful bastard. I try to give as much benefit of the doubt as I can and many chances, but I’ve noticed that I really... have a sour attitude towards a lot more people than I expect. Sometimes people who are very well liked, just because they said or did something that ticked me off. Luckily, I have the special skill of not being a jerk even if I don’t like you, and overall trying to be nice to most people, so it usually won’t matter.
Ah and I can be a little selective in who I talk to / play favorites a bit. I’m a busy person with an adult life and a stressful job, I only have so much patience. I skip from “tolerating it” to “leaving”, and that can seem like I ghosted, but that’s not always the case. Just better to leave than to pick fights. I have some pretty strict standards and harsh opinions. Short temper. Vengeful. Alas.
Somehow people think I am very nice and baby, so take that for what you will. Pft. I just want people to be happy and feel comfortable and okay. Wrong is wrong, blah blah blah ok I stop now.
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!
( If you managed to read all this, with 3 full muses... Let me know, I want to hug you??? )

hey! so, i'm sure this is something that's been discussed, but i can't find any discourse on your blog. i'm a fic writer and NOTHING annoys me more than the "don't say anything negative" attitude toward fanfiction. if someone leaves a comment that says "i loved your fic but i'm curious as to why character didn't do [x] since it seems a little inconsistent..." or "loved it! just wanted to point out a couple small inaccuracies that most people won't notice but since i work in this field..." (1/?)
it shows me that the commentor was paying attention and thinking about my writing, and isn’t that the ENTIRE point of posting your writing online? i’ve run across quite a few writers who will criticise any criticism or less-than-effusive comments, and it just really, really annoys me. the main reason i think is bc i legitimately LOVE fanfiction—it’s my preferred thing to write/read over original fiction bc it allows me to focus on just exploring the characters since people are already(2/?)
familiar with them/the canon verse. it’s why i hate that it isn’t taken as seriously as original fic, and i really think this culture of “don’t engage unless you only have good things to say” is one of the reasons it just isn’t taken seriously. ofc, not saying that you should just point out all the flaws, but some polite, helpful concrit or probing questions in addition to praise?? makes me really happy tbh. idk maybe i just take it too seriously but (¾)
it REALLY bothers me, and so i wanted to read some debate on this matter from both sides — not just writers, not just readers. this my extremely long-winded way of asking: do you guys have any posts like this?? (4/4)
LLF response: Hi Anon! We do have some posts about commenting culture and a brief guide to supporting authors, as well as reblogs on a guide to reviews and an overview of fandom commenting. Assuming you’ve looked through those posts, the reason why you cannot find anything that addresses your specific concern (i.e. questions in comments bringing up inconsistencies or trying to understand why a character appears to be acting OOC) is probably because LLF has been primarily concerned with broad structural changes and feedback initiatives thus far and the topic you raise, while valid and important to feedback culture, is a bit too nuanced for the current focus of this blog. That being said, I think that your ask brings up some interesting assumptions and perceptions that are critical for fandom health and which I can give my personal opinion on under the jump.
Full disclaimer, the following is my (mod dragonling’s) personal opinion and interpretation of the ask.
1. i’m a fic writer and NOTHING annoys me more than the “don’t say anything negative” attitude toward fanfiction.
This to me is indicative of differing expectations for fandom. Let’s say that instead of fic writing, we’re all chefs (or people who make food) here. We each make a dish and now we want to share it with the world. Do you (A) take it to your friend’s house where they are holding a potluck celebration; (B) set up a stall at the state fair; or © enter it into a cooking/baking competition ala Chopped where 5 star judges and food critics will sample your food? Depending on where you take you food, you would expect very different reactions.
Generally speaking, you would probably want your friends at the potluck to thank you for bringing something and compliment you for how delicious your dish is. If you were still fine tuning your recipe, you could let them know and maybe they would be able to say one or two things they liked or didn’t like about it which you would file away for the evening, to be looked at for the next time you made something.
However, if you were at a state fair, even getting your dish looked at by the crowds of people milling around would be an achievement. If someone bought some of your food, that would be fantastic! If they bought it, took a bite, and then told you how tasty it was, even better! Those people that bought your food, went away, and then came back to tell you how much they enjoyed it or came back to buy some more and brought all their friends with them are heaven sent angels. You probably wouldn’t expect anyone to say anything negative about your food because even if you were still fine tuning the recipe, a state fair is neither the time or place where any sort of meaningful culinary discussion can really take place on a consistent basis.
The situation would be different if you were at a cooking competition. There, you would expect these food experts to pick apart your food. Maybe not steamroll and chew you out ala Gordon Ramsey, but even then if that’s what you were expecting and the kind of feedback you respond best to, then sign up for a competition he is judging at. Perhaps you don’t want to just be yelled at, but would actually like to be coached, then maybe enter a competition with more of a mentoring element versus cutthroat competition.
This all really boils down to knowing who your audience is and your expectations for them. I would say that posting to ao3 is closest to the state fair, and is why the “don’t say anything negative” attitude is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged. The fact that this annoys you indicates that there is some disconnect between what you really want and where you’re going in order to get it. I think that we can all agree that going to the state fair and expecting Gordon Ramsey to show up and tell you why your dish sucks is just…not going to happen. Even more, it’s something that shouldn’t happen. What if you were at the state fair to raise money for charity? No well meaning person is going to tell you that your food sucks and that you should do better and if they do, they don’t mean you well.
So, rather than get hung up on the “don’t say anything negative” attitude in fandom (which, I may add, is there and has been cultivated for a reason), take another look at your audience and your expectations. If you want criticism that is helpful and of good quality, go to an editor or join a writing group. If you want to give criticism, find someone to beta for where you can cultivate a relationship that is mutually beneficial. Don’t be a Gordon Ramsey walking around at the charity fair of home baked goods giving tips to the local families trying to raise funds to repair their schools. Be conscious of the fact that people write for different reasons, and that while some may be okay with great advice being shouted at them, for others, it is a nightmare. Be kind and don’t show up at the wrong party.
2. “i loved your fic but i’m curious as to why character didn’t do [x] since it seems a little inconsistent…” or “loved it! just wanted to point out a couple small inaccuracies that most people won’t notice but since i work in this field…”
I understand where you’re coming from, Anon, and the two examples you mentioned evoke an important point of why it is so difficult to give criticism online. Your questions attempt to illustrate how one might leave a comment that shows that the reader was paying attention and thinking about your writing, and from your ask, I can only assume that you would be thrilled to personally receive either of those comments. To assume that others would be similarly thrilled, however, is fallacious and a dangerous assumption. What works for you, may be hurtful to others. You pointing out “a couple [of] small inaccuracies” may be you being genuinely helpful, but to the author, it may come off as a reader assuming that they didn’t do their research, a reader being a know-it-all, or a reader missing the forest for the trees, especially if this is your one and only comment in a long multi-chaptered work.
Of course, things get even more nuanced when we consider context. Your comment about inaccuracies may be the best thing ever if the author specifically asked for guidance on this matter, or if you have a long standing relationship with this author and somehow commenting in ao3 is the way you beta for each other, or maybe this small inaccuracy is actually a big inaccuracy and you’re just trying to be super tactful about it… I could go on an on and on about it, but how you say things is often just as important as what you say, and in writing, where we do not have the benefit of verbal and visual cues, expressing what you mean becomes even more complicated.
Which is another reason why “don’t say anything negative” is the default. It’s harder to ruin someone’s day with only positive statements, especially when you don’t have the time or platform to really explain yourself and have a meaningful conversation with the author. This Anon’s view on concrit is worth pondering. If you don’t understand or agree with this sentiment, then the conversation we should be having is not “why doesn’t anyone leave concrit” but rather “what is concrit?”
3. i’ve run across quite a few writers who will criticise any criticism or less-than-effusive comments, and it just really, really annoys me.
Going back to expectations and audiences; remember which party you’re going to. Also, what may seem like just a less-than-effusive comment to you, an outsider who stumbled upon this one comment thread, may actually be a long antagonistic war of words between author and commenter spanning many years, fandoms, and fics. I don’t know. It could happen. Maybe you just have a higher tolerance of trolls and criticism than the rest of us.
It’s certainly happened to me and Rose here on the LLF blog. Either we read the same ask differently or just have different reactions and ways of responding to things that tick us off. Even if we have a shared goal and have known each other for awhile, we’re both different people. It’s not reasonable for me to try to change Rose’s responses to match my own exactly. Just because you care about fanfiction so much doesn’t mean that everyone else does or should as well. If this is something that really truly annoys you and you are trying to see both sides of this issue, I think that you’re on the right track and want to encourage you to keep learning and thinking about it.
4. it isn’t taken as seriously as original fic, i really think this culture of “don’t engage unless you only have good things to say” is one of the reasons it just isn’t taken seriously.
I am not a literary expert, and cannot really opine on how fanfiction is viewed by traditional literature or whether a fantasy AU is better/worse than a published fantasy book or how they relate to the writings of Homer. I also am not sure what you mean by fanfiction not being taken “as seriously as original fic.” Certainly you take it seriously. I take it seriously enough to spend my free time on it, and I take fandom seriously enough that I am spending time I could be using to write fanfiction to help run this blog. If you mean that publishing houses will not pay any attention to a fanfiction story, I would agree because why would they? Fanfiction is, by definition, derived from original fiction. Publishing houses are after new and original content because copyright is a real thing.
Even then, let’s look at Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s Twilight fan fiction. Is it taken more seriously than Twilight? Why or why not? How does it compare to Harry Potter, or Pride or Prejudice? Reading and writing are such personal experiences that I hesitate to say that one piece of writing is inherently better than the other. Hence, I do not think that fan fiction’s audience who “don’t engage unless you only have good things to say” is a problem. To me, that’s like saying “anime isn’t as good as non-anime cartoons because people who watch anime don’t speak English.”
5. not saying that you should just point out all the flaws, but some polite, helpful concrit or probing questions in addition to praise…
Yes, agreed; and if this is what the author has asked for, please go ahead! However, please also remember that not everyone knows how to ask probing questions, give helpful concrit, or even be polite. Sometimes, they aren’t even trying to be rude. It just comes off as such. Maybe the commenter is having a bad day and can’t word right. Maybe the author is having a bad day and can’t read anything without their own personal negative bias clouding their perceptions.
It’s one of the things that we are trying to address at LLF so that these barriers are lower. It’s one of the reasons why some things (native comment templates) just will not work for AO3, because tone is hard to convey, nevermind that your audience probably numbers in the millions, each with their own personal biases and understanding of language. We know that even with giving kudos, people mean different things. Think about how difficult it is to convey sarcasm in writing. AO3 already receives flack for their kudos message, which is the way it is because can you come up with something better that will not tick off anyone? Maybe people want to be polite, maybe they want to be helpful, maybe they just don’t know how. We’re trying to change that and trying to give people the tools to help them comment: LLF Comment Builder, LLF Comment Project, in-line commenting (these tools are mostly focused on how to give positive comments because from the feedback we’ve gotten, people have a hard enough time doing that as is.)
But hey, if you want something for concrit or how to ask probing questions, don’t wait for us. Look up a good guide and reblog it. Encourage your followers to ask you questions about your writing. Write your own guide to commenting. Go. Be the change you want to see.
6. do you guys have any posts like this
So, after all that, LLF may not be the blog for you if you are interested in hearing as many opinions as possible about this topic. However, I would highly encourage you to check out @ao3commentoftheday, which has already hosted quite a few asks about this:
sometimes-i-dont-comment-because-im-a

Moon. Thoughts/Review
So, Moon took a lot less time than I thought it would? Maybe it was just that I used the (very vague) walkthrough or took an entire afternoon to play through it, then another afternoon to finish all the routes and get the rest of the CGs, but two days seem pretty quick considering how "game-y" it is. Anyway, spoilers after the cut. Content warnings for sexual assault, murder/death, incest.
I really enjoyed Moon! Despite the very heavy topics used, it was ultimately a very good story, and drastically different from ONE ~To The Radiant Season~, which I finished just the other day. Obviously not a very good game to pick and play if you're susceptible to its darker bit (i.e., most of the game), but these topics (in fiction) make me a little squeamish, but not much more, which I think is the right place to be.
The scenes involving rape, of which there are many, don't seem overtly exploitative; I went in knowing they'd be there, but not with a sexual interest to see them, so their effect was more "this is an awful thing, and since I experienced it, I can empathize more with the characters and their desolate situation". This was heightened by egregiously depraved scenes like Haruka's desperate attempt at saving her brother by being forced to have sex with him, only for her efforts to be fruitless; very harrowing, if you keep your frame of mind on the story.
I'm not going to call anything "tasteful" in this game, but I am of the belief that it was well-executed given the circumstances and added to the story rather than take away (like in ONE).
An aspect many seemed to dislike was manually navigating the map, but, while it is annoying at times, it also helps to immerse you in the plot; physically following a routine, getting to know a route, and being as confused as Ikumi when she suddenly ends up somewhere random, or when an alarm goes off, or getting exhausted by a seemingly endless staircase. Furthermore, it makes the game feel a little more substantial and three dimensional, even if it's just a 2D map, than if it was just solely text. It's a mechanical than can definitely be used very very poorly but Moon does a good job at avoiding monotony, except when it's intended.
Also, I'm gonna be a little nosy hoe and post this discussion from VNDB here:
"So, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the story, as I just finished getting to the end of the last boss and unfortunately got a bad end. Did they ever mention why Fargo is doing all these human experiments for the sake of producing a human nuclear weapon capable of killing everything on sight(1)? Why do they choose female gender instead of male(2)? They don't seem to have a goal at all, because of how mental reinforcement is applied to Class B and C. Also, why do they have to be subjected to rape instead of torture or bully or harassment(3)? I feel like they just wanted to attract people with that kind of fetish to buy the game instead of actually having contributed to the story(4). Why did they have to have two different devices to gauge emotional scars of the past? Aren't they literally the same thing(5)? One helps to reinforce their pain by making them stronger, and the other reminds them of their past and making them accept them whether it is painful or not. It's also funny how the patrolmen can gather in the same building when there's no way to connect different buildings (6) other than the secret passageway and how literally two Fargo people knew about the passageway but decided not to seal it to prevent intruders(7). Other than that, Jun Maeda did the scenario for this nukige(8)? Shit, that explains why Yui's story and conclusion was better than I expected, and a bittersweet ending as well. Music is repetitive as fuck though, but thankfully he grew out of that phase."
1. Fargo is a cult and most likely interested in gaining power.
2. It's stated that the followers get the power after intercourse with the unnamed Boy, so being all females could be a preference on his part or have something to do with their reproductive organs, like a pregnancy.
3. Rape is incredibly effective at being traumatic, and could be used to incentivize guards as well as demolish any empathy they have, meaning they'll be crueller.
4. But also yes, they wanted to attract people with a rape fetish, obviously. But it isn't hard to come up with a plot based reason.
5. They aren't the same thing; Ikumi's experiences in Elpod is based around her confronting and embracing shameful parts of herself. Elpod is also explicitly stated to be more physically taxing on the mind.
6. The patrolmen likely use the hidden door Ikumi found before the last boss? This is a minor overlooked issue at most.
7. The two Fargo people who knew about the passageway bot hhad a vested interest in helping you, why would they seal it up?
8. Not a nukige
Ok sorry for being petty and not wanting to publicly respond to this person, or necro an old thread. Moon's a good game and you should play it if you aren't bugged by the rancid subject matter.

Dear Diary: About Jimin’s disappearance from Twitter and more...
So many things have been happening around Jimin lately. Thought i write a little diary to keep tabs on things, and to help future and current fans to learn about what is happening during certain time period. I’ll touch on his change in twitter posts / social media behaviour, death threats, and Fan Cam being reported and views disappearing from MNet’s official fan cam video.
Where to begin... let’s start from Fake Love promo period and Jimin’s twts I guess, since this is the first time I witnessed the hate towards Jimin directly in front of my eyes (that and i’m a new fan only started watching their stuff around October 2017?)
So on Jun 7, 2018 Jimin posted a twt from MNet’s backstage with a picture of the boys name on the wall. However, he forgot to put down V’s name, right after he discovered his mistake he quickly apologized and twt’ed two or three more tweets saying that he made a mistake and he loves V and next time he’ll make up for his mistake, something along those lines (dear readers you can go check those twts for yourself). However, when you look down on the comments it was filled with mostly “certain types of solo stans” (and yes I did go into those account to see what type of people is saying these mean things and going through their past twts) saying that Jimin is fake, and that he did it on purpose and other accusations towards Jimin. BTW a lot of those hateful comments were also the most popular ones so you can see them right away underneath his twt i think one or two of them even have 1k likes and couple hundred retweets. The hashtag JiminYouFakerKeepGoing was also showing up under Jimin’s name as the top searches associated to him in twitter. If you search for that hashtag now you can still see traces of it and people taking screenshots of those comments. Fans quickly responded by reporting these hateful comments towards Jimin to cleanse the comment section and also trended JiminYouNiceKeepGoing hashtag.
Now on Jun 10, 2018 after the mess on twitter, JM posted pictures featuring himself, JK and V with a hashtag that read something along the lines of IToldThemI’mGoingToPostThis in Korean. Now you can interpret it in different ways but if you’re a into Jikook or into shipping then I think you’ll read it like how I’ve read it, if you don’t know what shipping is my advice for you is stay away cause it’ll cause you so much grief, but all the situation will make so much more sense in terms of the events that are happening around Jimin.
Moving onto Jun 21, 2018 ... the last twt from Jimin on Twitter that felt more personal and not because he did it because he had to. The reason i’m saying this is, BTS tends to twt before they fly and before or after they go on stage or do some sort of performance. You’ll see alot of the members will post something. Now Jimin here though he’s the type to post random things other than the formal etiquette posts that everyone does. So he’ll shower us with videos of himself, selcas, picture with members, just really random little things to let the fans see him. But since Jun 21.. we got a twt for cosmetic product (according to older fans he’s never advertise in any of his twts before not to mention whoever posted didn’t know how to tag in twitter), and then we got a flying to Taipei twt and a thank you for attending the concert backstage twt. Etiquette posts... Now this boy ... usually twts every 3 or 4 days sometimes you’ll get multiple twts within a day, and even when they’re super busy he’ll still post something maybe within a two week period. you can go through their twitter by using #Jimin to see the pattern yourself. I remember when i first followed BTS on their twitter, i was like... wow Jimin likes to post so much he should stop posting and lay off on social media a little bit (this was back in December 2017), but now i miss him so much T_______T Please feed us Jimin!!!!!!!
Now, I know that from Jun 21, 2018- to Mid July he has posted on Fan Cafe, so he didn’t really entirely disappear from the fans’ sight. He answered fans’ question one of them was what’s the best BTS song, which Jimin replied Serendipity and another question was which song do you want to sing now the most, Jimin replied House of Cards. He also posted message for the 5th year anniversary for Army but so did everyone else, another etiquette post, I think he also posted something a day after the 5th year anniversary something on the lines of I was too tired and fell asleep and missed the day but happy Army Day. All of these posts can be found on BTS Fancafe translation twitter account. Back onto topic, to see posts from BTS on Fan Cafe you need to create an account, they’re not public like twitter where u can have hassle free access to feel connected to BTS. Also the Fan Cafe is regulated by moderators so any form of harassment posts are banned violation of cafe rules will also result in permanent ban too. Also, this is speculation here, I think the Fan Cafe has lesser I-army presence since to create an account everything appears in Korean, so it’s a lot more work to try to sign up for something, and people will have to go out of their way to make accounts to have access into website. I for one gave up on it, for now, but maybe in the future I’ll try to make an account there if Jimin decides to never return to Twitter and decided to post a lot on Fan Cafe. Ah and we also have to mention how they have different membership level so depending on what level you’re at you have restricted access to contents.. yeah that’s a lot of work for someone who can’t read any Korean at all Q.Q (life long goal: learn Korean so you can have full access to BTS contents)
I mentioned I-army specifically because.. all three death threats aimed at Jimin has been coming from the international side. First death threat was around WINGS Tour, the other two were during LY: Tour announcement. Can’t remember which concert they targeted but all three were planned for concerts in USA. Now you might think why international fans it could be fans from Korea too? Aren’t you being a bit extreme in your assumptions? But here’s my reasoning I could be wrong cause no one ever announced who gave out the threats. But let’s say for WINGS Tour. They went to several countries South America, Japan, USA but only the threat was given out for their location in the states. Same thing for the LY: Tour both death threats were targeted for the states once again. Combined with all the mass shooting news we hear, it doesn’t seem hard reason that it is relatively easier to obtain weaponaries in the US. Since you can have access to it if one of your family member possesses them, also the fact that firearms are legally sold. Maybe they targeted the US Tour due to ease of access to firearms? Also all the hate comment directed at JM on twitter. Most of them speak coherent English and also twt in English. I’ve also looked around at some K-army blog who can speak and post in English it seems to me that Jimin in S.Korea is well received by the public and by the fandom, and fans in general aren’t that toxic towards each other as well, minus those antis. That’s why I think most of the hate and death threats for Jimin actually comes from the International side. If someone has evidence or information that says otherwise please let me know, because I don’t want to misrepresent.
Ah yes, JHope also got a death threat. Someone target him in the Seoul Concert for their LY:Tour. That twt was in English though and later on the person said it was all in jest and prank after they got reported. Honestly what is going through people’s mind these days? Death threat as pranks and jokes?
Now what’s really interesting is his 2nd death threat. I remember the post specifically stated that Jimin is “always in the way and that he’s been around for too long”. Now always in the way of what? In the way of your favorite K-pop group? The western artists? in the way of your life? or the way of your ship? I don’t know if Jimin alone is powerful enough to take down an entire K-Pop idol group on his own, or take over the western music theme, or get into your life if you’ve never come across K-pop in your life. As much as i like Jimin, even I have to admit I don’t think he can be in the way that much. I’ll leave the shipping part to people who knows what’s going on...
Now let’s talk about the Fan cam. I think as a fandom we all know that Jimin, V and Jungkook usually gets a lot of views on their fan cam. Who can you blame they look good and they have a lot of fans who likes them a bit more than the rest of the other members. But here’s the problem. Why are the fan cams for Jimin which has millions of views started to get reported and taken down?
Peach Jelly’s Pied Piper for 4th muster with 40mil views
https://twitter.com/peach_jelly1013/status/1014808921783980032
JamJam Park’s Mic Drop MAMA 2017 Jimin focus

Pieces of Mind’s Fake Love BBMA Jimin focus
https://twitter.com/stussyjimin/status/999566044678123522
and M2′s Mpd Fake Love 4k Jimin Focus Cam with 29mil views reported to be the highest solo idol fan cam view got views decreased to 24mil on July 13th, 2018. Honorable mention in the same performance, Jungkook got 21mil views which also had some of his views taken away too.
Editted/Update July14, 2018 (PST):
So I checked on the Fake Love fan cam posted by M2, MNet’s official fancam... Jimin’s view dropped down to 22 mil now and JK’s view dropped down to 18 mil. Seriously what is going on? Is this from Youtube’s bot checking alogrithm? or is it purposefully being done by malicioius people?
Now if every other member’s fan cam are met with the same fate, I got nothing to say, but that’s not the story only Jimin’s fan cam are coming across with problem. Why is he getting so much hate? BTW those are big fan cam accounts too. You’re now not only targeting the idol himself but his fan site as well? like wth? Could these be the works from other fandoms? or is it the work from antis within our own fandom? or just antis of Jimin?
Could these be the works of BTS- anti or Jimin only-anti? If it’s BTS anti shouldn’t they focus on the whole group? how come it’s only Jimin who got affected? the M2′s Fake Love view decrease, I can see that could be a mix of various Jimin-hater because it’s uploaded on official broadcast network’s Youtube channel and he overtook another idol’s top spot, but really who would go search for Pied Piper fan cam or other specific performances. Anyway it just baffles me, and honestly if you read all the way til here I think you know what i wanted to say.
Could the fans themselves stop hating on other members just because you like another member more? Idols are humans too and they don’t deserve these hates nor do the fan site masters sharing footage for the rest of the fandom who did not have a chance to see them perform deserve their dedication and hard work to be taken away.
Sometimes I’m happy that people have complained about BH is not trying to push BTS as hard in terms of promo into the West. Because if what i speculate is true and that all of this hate is coming from the International side and all these sabotaging is from the fans themselves. I rather BTS and BH just stay in Korea where they have better protection and control because people don’t deserve them.
That being said I do wish they can become international legends for years to come.. o the dilemma.
And thank you for reading this long post :x I welcome to all exchange of information and opinions btw, since I probably overlooked some things or have missing information.
O I’ll add a keep reading button once Tumblr App is no longer buggy!

Tweeting Tony
An old #millennial tracks what's trending
First things first, let's learn a bit about Twitter today.
Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass and launched in July 2006.
A day's worth of Tweets would fill a 10 million page book.
This is the first ever tweet:
Hashtags. One of the first things you need to know about Twitter is that the hashtag is the star of the platform. The hashtag was born on Aug. 23, 2007, as a way to group tweets about similar topics such as news, events, campaigns, and causes.
There are 330 million monthly active users on Twitter with an overall total of 1.3 billion created accounts. I am one of the 550 million people who has ever actually sent a tweet, but there are millions of others who follow the platform daily without actually tweeting. Lurkers! (I'm one). In fact, 500 million people visit the site each month without logging in.
Who has the most followers on Twitter? (Hint: It's not President Trump) It's Katy Perry with 108 million followers.
Like Instagram, nearly 79% of Twitter's users are outside of the United States. I wonder how many are Russian bots? Speaking of bots, the platform has struggled with reconciling the issue of misinformation being spread by bots, international troll farms and the social media black market of buying and selling followers/retweets. Twitter claims 23 million of their active users are really bots, but many believe this number is far, far below the actual number.
It used to be that you had to cram or string together your thoughts into 140 character tweets, but now Twitter has raised the limit to 280 characters to the joy of some and the misery of Twitter purists.
Carter Wilkerson's "HELP ME PLEASE. A MAN NEEDS HIS NUGGS" is the most retweeted tweet of all time with 3.7 million retweets. It is an example of a terrific corporate use of the platform, Carter asked Wendy's how many retweets would it take to get free chicken nuggets and the brand challenged him to 18 million. They even joined in by creating the hashtag #nuggsforcarter. I was surprised to see that despite the POTUS's daily use of Twitter, he does have any tweets that rank on the platform’s all-time list. On the other hand, Barack Obama has 4 of the top 30 tweets of all time and some have come after his presidency.
So, how do people use Twitter?
Real-time information
One of the most important uses of the platforms is to join a larger as-its-happening conversation with many others. Twitter is a phenomenal place to be during trending events and news. Examples of popular events and topics on Twitter include #SuperBowls, #Olympics, #Oscars, #Elections, #Socialissues like #Blacklivesmatter or #stopassaultrifles, #movies or popular #shows like #gameofthrones or #walkingdead and #holiday related topics.
Breaks the news
Twitter has the ability to take thought to publication in a matter of moments. It offers its users, trained journalists or untrained citizen-journalists, an uncanny ability to bypass traditional news or information gatekeepers. It would be impossible to get a statistic on the number of times people broke the news on Twitter before a media company discovered it, but one of the most famous examples is when New Yorker @highfours (Jim Hanrahan) tweeted this:
A journalist's tool
Twitter helps journalists discover stories and cover their beats. In fact, Journalists make up nearly 25% of all verified Twitter accounts. In the example above, Twitter helped New York media discover that there was a plane in the Hudson River and the subsequent story about how pilot Chesley Sullenberger's actions saved all 155 people aboard. Twitter's head's up led to Sullenberger becoming a national hero and instant celebrity and a story. Now, this story would have been told anyway, but the journalist who was active on Twitter that day was certainly given a tip to be in the lead, and as we all know, being first is very important in the competitive world of journalism.
Twitter is now a tool that is as important to journalists as their AP Stylebook. In 2006, journalists were very skeptical of Twitter and the active sharing of unverified information and infringements on intellectual property. This reluctance has given way to acceptance over the years with reporters using the platform for newsgathering and as a way to monitor their beats. It has also given many journalists a platform of their own with followers in the thousands to millions, and these platforms can move with the reporter as they work for different media companies.
Here are two tips to up your Twitter game
Play the hashtag game. Create tweets using trending hashtags One of the easiest (and most fun) ways to get your account going on Twitter is to use the hashtags listed in the trending section on your page. This is a great way to see what is happening and to creatively join in the conversation coming up with your own response to things like #2018in5words. It's a good way to grow your followership (bots or otherwise).
Follow and create Twitter moments Twitter moments allow users to combine multiple tweets into a slideshow like a feature. Twitter moments are one of my favorite things to look at on the platform. I find they give me an interesting perspective on a topic by stitching together many different perspectives and points of views with interesting photos and videos. A good Twitter moment can combine thoughts from everyday people to journalists. Here's a good video on how to create a Twitter moment, it's pretty easy.
youtube
I hope you enjoyed my post on Twitter and hopefully learned something interesting from it.
