So we all know Mulder and Scully are going to watch the Barbie movie with their daughter, right? Because they, the established movie saps that they are, most definitely will.

I mean I'd say yes, but isn't the movie rated PG-13 or something? I personally don't care about those ratings, but I'm not sure they'd be able to watch it with her. She's what now, five? He was going to make his name William Mulder Jr. up until she disappeared, in which he actually decided to make his first name Fox (he misses her 🥺)

Grew up in a really conservative family and didn’t even consider it an option until he moved out

Skinner was attracted to a lot of guys in his squad in Vietnam but he thought it was just because there were no women around

Skinner fell in love with John “Kitten” James and he fell hard

Absolutely did everything possible to protect that man

He was terrified of his feelings though and pushed them down, eventually starting to resent his best friend for making him feel things he couldn’t understand

When Kitten got infected by that gas, Skinner put his values over the man he loved, not just because he thought it was the right thing to do, but because he was terrified that he might be bi

He has regretted it ever since

Married his wife after the war and had a pretty good relationship until he became too consumed with his work

Their breakup was really hard on him and he delved even more into his work

Sometime after Avatar (maybe by season 5 or 6), Skinner meets a really lovely man and that man becomes his boyfriend

It’s really hard at first, but the guy helps Skinner to open up and allow himself to be okay with who he really is

They make time for each other outside of work and are really happy together!

Skinner’s boyfriend is 100% okay with the fact that Skinner has basically adopted all these agents

John Byers:

Discovered it pretty late in life, like he knew earlier but he Repressed it

First person he ever came out to was Mulder (as in my fic 😌)

Lots of internalized transphobia in this man but Mulder and the Lone Gunmen really helped him break out of that

Langly and Frohike obviously went with him to get his first T shot and chanted “MAN JUICE” while it happened (scaring a lot of the nurses)

Met Susanne before he transitioned so seeing her again in Three of a Kind was a little terrifying for him

She accepts him though and is a bi icon herself

Byers wears suits so much because they make him feel really validated

Ringo Langly:

Non-binary and gay!! Langly uses any pronouns (gonna stick to he/him for this list to keep things simple though)

Grew up pretty unaware about gender as a whole, just living his life

Moving away from home to a city was huge for him, he started going to gay bars and really realized that he was gay

Eventually started to experiment with his gender, using different pronouns etc., and found out he was non-binary!

Came out to Frohike shortly after learning Frohike was bi (more on that later)

Goes by Ringo because it’s somewhat gender neutral

He isn’t dysphoric very often but when he is it’s very hard for him to cope, Byers and Frohike are always there to support him and help however possible though

Langly gets way more dates than Frohike and loves to brag about it

Melvin Frohike:

Doggett was really repressed for a lot of his life, not because he thought his family would hate him for being gay but mostly because of his environment

It wasn’t until he met Reyes that he started to accept himself more

At first Reyes being a lesbian totally freaked him out and he was really upset, leading to a huge strain on their friendship, but one night he broke down and told her he was pretty sure he was gay

Reyes really helped him through everything, especially his divorce from his wife and the loss of his son

Doggett eventually came out to his dad, who was super accepting

It took Doggett a long time to be comfortable enough to date but he started and met a really great guy, one who he’s now married to

One day he mentioned his boyfriend in passing and the rest of the Spooky Squad totally flipped out because they had no idea he was gay

Doggett just straight-faced “I didn’t think it was relevant?”

Monica Reyes:

Okay, so I’m super curious to hear your opinion—in Kaddish Mulder was reacting really strongly to the descriptions of the Jewish suffering and other examples of hate crimes and speech. One of the haters even pointed out that M looked like one himself (going purely off stereotypes—and man, wasn’t Scully the best when she just shut that creep right down?). Anyway, do you know if it’s canon that M’s got Jewish ancestry? Or was an inside nod to the actor’s own heritage? (According to IMDb the actor’s father was from a family of Jewish immigrants.)

ok so tbf Kaddish is one of those eps that... falls short on representation and is often criticized for that??? which, that said, I actually don't dislike it as an episode, specifically for where it is in the season. I'm of the opinion that we can't hold stuff from, ya know, nearly 30 years ago to the same standards of representation that we have today, so.

anyway I... don't think there's anything in canon (as far as I've seen) that does outright confirm that his family is Jewish, but I know that's a widely accepted fandom headcanon and I've seen quite a lot of fics that come from that angle and I think I do tend to accept that as semi-canon in my own mind??

(also yeah I do think on some level it may have been a bit of a nod to David's heritage, but idk. there's lots of other people in the fandom who are more aware of behind the scenes stuff so maybe I'll do some looking around to see what else has been said on the topic)

also you're right, Mulder does have a really strong reaction to the antisemitism in that ep and I think it's kinda twofold, like there's more to it than just what's obvious. bc the one guy is EXTREMELY hateful toward him due to stereotypes like you said, and it catches him really off-guard but at the same time makes the case especially personal to him, AND because he's already especially vulnerable at that point, even prior to this specific case and situation

like... ok so you ever get really REALLY surprised/shocked/startled by something and there's no real reason for this reaction, but the unexpectedness of it makes you suddenly want to cry for a minute?? but that's a really unreasonable reaction so you just kinda smile or laugh to cover it??? or is this just me because the thing is, that's exactly what Mulder's reaction to the guy's hateful comments at the beginning was, imo. I saw that and just went 😟 bc I've SEEN that before I've FELT that before, that little shocked huff and duck of his head is like, that hit way harder than it had any reason to — and Scully sees that and will Not let it stand.

but imo part of the reason it hits him so hard is because he's already in a VERY emotionally vulnerable place in this ep, like. it's their first case since the events of Memento Mori, and there's just this *sense* of something being Wrong. Mulder looks about 3 seconds from a full-on breakdown for most of the episode, and not just bc it becomes so personal to him, he's just... still trying to deal with what's happening to Scully, and that makes EVERYTHING harder to deal with

and at the same time, Scully is also trying to deal with it too, and she does that by retreating a little bit, trying to give them both space while they work on this situation to process, and even though it doesn't directly get brought up, you just Know. all is not well with Dana Scully. idk if you noticed this scene but when she gets knocked over in that attic (i believe it was the attic of the synagogue, but I've only seen the ep once so I'm not sure)? it takes her WAY longer than it should to catch her breath. her cancer is weighing on the both of them and it does, in some way, affect the way they work this case.

lastly but not least-ly, bc I've gotten way off the original point of your ask, I do want to also mention the way Scully rushes over and helps Mulder up at the end of the ep... just bc it's cute tbh. and bc it seems there's a theme in this arc where even though she's the one who is literally dying, and she doesn't want Mulder to be all worried and trying to take care of her, instead she just tries so so so hard to take care of him and protect him and make sure he's alright; it's like she wants to take care of him now while she still can bc she's worried what will happen to him once she's gone — which is a topic I have seen in many many fics.

Well, first of all, you should read and enjoy this that i wrote however long ago

But also! There's a lot of stuff that would be like. small scale weird. Like, going to a bookshop and asking for something you saw in the window and the owner's like, "oh no, that's not for sale." 

And you're like, "the books in the bookshop aren't for sale?"

And the owner's like "aaaach"

And the employee who's wearing sunglasses and drinking wine on shift is like "the ones in the display aren't. There's another edition behind the counter you can have though."

And the owner goes, "there is?"

And the employee clicks his fingers and repeats himself pointedly while you awkwardly stand there. The owner gives you the book you want. You go to the employee and ask if they have any nicely bound dictionaries for sale and he glares at you (or at least you think he does, it's dim and he's wearing sunglasses) and goes, "I don't fucking work here."

So you ask the owner (who is sitting in a couch now reading a book himself and seems surprised you're still here) who says, "no, I don't have any dictionaries"

And the not-employee laughs and says, "he had a fight with Cawdrey and hasn't gotten over it."

So you leave without a dictionary.

But also they’re weird in those like liminal ways, where youre not totally sure that’s doable for humans, but also you’re seeing it so it must be doable. Like, you’re on a new medication that keeps you awake through the night as you adjust so for like a week youre awake every two hours and you spend a lot of that time looking out your window at the park across the road and every night you can see a guy in sunnies standing on a bridge watching the ducks all night.

You don’t think about it too much the first night. Just kinda weird. Then the second you notice him again so you start looking for him and hes just. staring. at the ducks. all night.

You take a photo, then at lunch time you see he’s still there. That night you’re still up, so you take another photo. You start taking a photo every time you’re up. You superimpose them and he’s identical in each.

You set up a camera and record. He doesn’t fucking move. It’s so perfect it looks edited. But you figure, you know, maybe he’s high or something and time isn’t moving the same for him.

On the fourth day you brave it and walk past him at like 10am. He’s in a public place, after all. He doesn’t react. You walk past again to get back, watching him much more openly, and it’s like he comes back to life. He stretches his neck, pulls his phone out, and sighs. You’re ready to call an ambulance, you just watched this guy not eat or drink for four days, but instead you watch, bewildered, as he calls a number and says, “You’re late, where are you? Forgot? No, no, it’s okay. Nah, jus’ been thinking, really. Yeah, I can meet you there. Might have to be late, though, only fair. Of course, no more than fifteen minutes. See you soon.”

His voice isn’t even fucking dry. He should be half dead from dehydration. He leaves and doesn’t return and you decide it was just your medication playing tricks on you. You never watch the video you took of him again.

Then you get the folk who see a clearly gay couple arguing in public and one of them sprouts bright white wings, snaps, “Well, if you’re going to be like that then I simply won’t put up with it!” and flies off into the sky.

Those people either just totally ignore it, or go full conspiracy theory on it. There’s a sub reddit dedicated to the Soho Couple. Crowley’s a part of it and when it gets quiet for too long he’ll take a new candid photo of Aziraphale doing something ethereal (occult) from through the window (either glowing with irritation while on the phone or floating above the couch because he got so relaxed while Crowley was stroking his hair. There are less photos of the second because Crowley struggles to pull himself away from a fond angel) and posts it with a falsified reading from one of those echo meters that ghost hunters use

He’s also been known to feature in those spirit box things where they scan through radio stations. He often says things like “don’t buy books” but sometimes he’ll say something more like “you know, i was fucking right when i said dates were used in christmas pudding. Do you have a pencil? Write this down. Two cups of flour. 200 grams of butter. A cup of god damned dates...”

Then there’s that one American agent from wherever Mulder and Scully worked (fbi? or were they cia? i never finished season one) who lives across st james park and has one of those long distant cameras and is perceptually two months away from securing proof of angels and demons. But every time he goes to his superiors his manager tells him that the next level up, one Agent Aziran Phell, needs yet more proof. Also those files you submitted five months ago were lost in a flooding incident, did you make copies? No? Well, start again, I guess.

I think, overall, they both cultivate a certain amount of otherworldyness because it means they’re reasonably left alone, but not completely. They’re not rude (Crowley is sometimes, but, you know) or destructive or cruel to strangers, but they are uncomfortable. They encourage polite conversation, brief and pleasant interactions that go no further. Acquaintances who don’t care enough to notice it’s been 40 years and while they’re had two divorces and one child the man who comes to the bakery every thursday morning hasn’t aged.

I think Crowley doesn’t like the idea of authority knowing about them and works to keep them hidden (he and Aziraphale disagree over the american agent when that comes out) and Aziraphale doesn’t like the idea of large scale suspicion (he’s very uncomfortable with the subreddit, which Crowley resovles by revealing it as a hoax in a similar style to that girl who faked being a gay couple with hiv to write a hamilton fic on tumblr whenever that was) but overall they do like to be weird.

Aziraphale causes lightning storms whenever he doesn’t want customers. Crowley can be found laying in a patch of perfect sun for hours in mid winter while rain clouds form meters away from him but never touch him. But Aziraphale tips generously and Crowley’s illegal parking is never in the way and Aziraphale gives money to the homeless and Crowley gives drunk people lifts home when he’s sad and Aziraphale gave baked goods tot he local bakery to sell while the owner’s husband was in chemo and Crowley only shops at the small businesses. So overwhelmingly they’re liked. But avoided. Definitely avoided.

Keith still glows a little when he’s dreaming and he insists it’s because that Mr. Fell had some kind words to say that one time. So people avoid them. Cos that’s a bit weird.

What are you working on at the moment? 

There’s a lot going on rn lol. I have somehow accumulated so many fics and I just don’t have the time to write them. So fics I am currently posting are 50 Days of Prompts, Time Can Heal, and daisies. The prompts are the focus as they’re kinda a semi-daily thing (that makes no sense lol) The other two are sort of when I have the time. Stuff I should be writing are the ABIF’s prompts, @enigmaticxbee ‘s headcanon fic, and also technically the script fic that I haven’t touched in a month but let’s ignore that. There’s also any one shots that are derived from the rewatches and the discussions we will have.

What do you consider to be your greatest writing achievement?

Honestly, I’d say I have three just because they all hit difference achievements. A Jewel Beneath The Moonlight was the first multi-chapter I completed. Rain and Metal in terms of I kinda wrote smut and don’t feel embarrassed by it (I’d also say it’s one of my best written pieces too) and daisies- while not the most popular fic of mine (which I expected) I get to write what I want to write (the Mulder and Scully I want to write) without feeling the need to please everyone and its also something a bit different and if you know me I like to bend the rules and give out something new and different.

Do you use a favourite word/saying/metaphor often?

I guess if I was to go through all my fics I might be able to see that I’ve used the same metaphor or similar sentence in two different things. Honestly I try not to but sometimes it happens.

Whose POV do you prefer to write - Mulder or Scully?

Definitely Mulder’s, I find him to be a lot easier (we have a lot in common tbf) but I’ve been writing Scully a lot more. For the longest time I was really scared to write Scully- I was always worried that I was gonna get her characterisation wrong or something unlike I realised that that didn’t exist. Obviously there a rules to stick to with these characters but you’re interpretation is your interpretation and that’s what fic is. My Scully will be different to your Scully- just look at the show and the way each writer chooses to focus upon certain aspects of the characters, exactly what we’re doing. The way I look at it, as long as you’re backed up by the show and by canon at some point nobody can argue that it’s out of character.

How do you feel when you write - do you experience the same emotions as the characters?

Yeah! Otherwise I feel like I’ll default to just telling which isn’t bad and you do need a bit of it but you also need to show and so long as I’m feeling the emotion I’m trying to write I can do that.

How do you know when a fic is ready to post?

I post immediately after I’ve written, it’s terrible and I shouldn’t but that’s how it is. If you’re lucky, I’ll read over it but if not you get it in all its terrible grammar/typo glory. It’s a habit I need to get out of but I write at night, writing makes me sleepy and I also have this need to post it straight after I’ve wrote it. There’s something about waking up to comments or reblogs that I really enjoy. My daily validation intake I guess.

A Baby Is Forever.

It’s the multi-chapter that holds my longest written piece- 5000 words. I really liked that prompt and I really liked the world that I created and the fact that it was a touchy subject (I’m dealing with teenage pregnancy and forced marriage) but people really liked it and it was nice.

Mulder and Scully Abduct Adopt An Alien.

This is such a stupid fic. It’s not the best written but it’s meant to be. It’s one of my more comedic fics amidst all the angst that I tend to write. When I get back round to writing it it will turn into a Monsters Inc AU.

Gone.

This wasn’t popular at all which is a shame because this is where I began to write the stories I wanted to write and write the characters I wanted to write. It all began here. And I enjoyed it, I planned it out, I didn’t post immediately after writing it, I cared about it but sadly it just wasn’t a popular fic so I stopped.

Bonus:  help me im being hit on at a bar please be a fake boyfriend for a second.

Everyone wants a sequel to this lol. Again, I love the world I built and all the detail in it. It’s very simple in plot (the title says all) but there’s so much more I could write in this universe- there’s the conversation they have, I hint that they’ve had sex in an alleyway, I could given write a fic on when he broke her glasses. There’s just a lot I could do and similarly to Metal and Rain, it just worked. All the words went seamlessly together and it was fun to write.

HEY thank you so much for sending these for the hyperfixation ask game and sorry for taking so long with it, but now I’m here!!!

So these are for my pretty much favorite TV show aka The X-Files 8)

🎥 do you have any favorite scenes from your hyperfixation?

Oh plenty of them! Anything that is funny is awesome! :D But I think my favourite of them all is the whole Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster episode on the 10th season. I watched the season for the first time this year and when this episode started, I literally spent the first 10-15 minutes cry-laughing because every time a funny scene ended, the next started and I just could not stop to even breathe inbetween :DDDDDDDDDDD It’s literally my favorite episode of them all, what comes to funny episodes!

And another ones being the ones written/directed by Duchovny, especially the Hollywood A.D. on the 7th season, I’m not exactly sure if it was this one or some other episode where Mulder or someone called Skinner as Skin-Man but I always lose it at that :D

The whole 10th season also was great because they kinda hid lots of good messages into the stories and especially this one episode about another religion was already ready to make me angry but I’m so happy with how they ended it and I wish other tv shows would do similar things! I’m kinda proud with how it turned out. Also the Were-Monster episode had very important messages and it was great to see some old characters again!

💕 tell us about one of your favorite characters and why you like them!

The character from the Were-Monster episode aka Guy Mann is definitely one of them! I like them because the idea behind the character was so awesome and interesting and I have never really thought it like that, and somehow it’s also kinda philosophical episode? But yeah, I really like that one, also because of how hilarious it is :D

My another favourite will always be the “monster” from The Post-Modern Prometheus from the 5th season ;___; I have a soft spot for anyone and anything misunderstood so it’s not even a surprise. But I also really love the humour hidden between the lines here :D (Also when I first saw it on TV I thought my TV was broken and I tried to fix the cables and all because it was in black and white before I realized the whole episode IS filmed in black and white XD)

Then there’s also this black gay couple in the the X-Cops episode on 7th season, they’re so hilarious too :DDD That whole episode is a mess but also a quite interesting concept!

I just realized I told about four but I guess it’s okay lol. (And of course Mulder is a fave but just wanted to mention some of the numerous side characters :D)

🏳‍🌈 do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you?

I had to google what is headcanon because I’m not the best with these fandom terms :D But I don’t think I have? I usually like to take what tv shows, movies and such give us and the only “fanon” (is this a right word???) thing is ships and I don’t really have any in TXF unless you count the one I was shipping so hard when I was a teenager (in 2006) but did not know yet that it also had became canon a long time ago :D Imagine my and my friend’s faces when we hadn’t even seen the whole series yet and went to see the I Want To Believe movie in the cinema and suddenly our ship was canon and we had no idea?

But yeah, I have never had the need to create any headcanon things with this show because it has always included people and non-people from all those groups anyway. There’s been LGBT+ characters, people from different races and also “people” from different species (you know, aliens, for example :D) and many of the cases deal with super-human or non-human, unnatural stuff a random character is capable of and sometimes they have connected these to mental disorders or neuropsychiatric stuff but not always in the negative way. Sure this show also has made the mistake as portaying e.g. dissociative identity order as someone whose “alter ego” is a monster and murderer, but in a way I kinda understand it with this show because that is just how it goes with every episode that is about a human. It’s not saying all are like this but that this character is like this and it’s not typical for them all, just the case with this one. E.g. take a schizophrenic character and they won’t be like the normal schizophrenic person would be but they take it to a level that makes it into an X-File, as that is exactly what the series is about. The X-Files.

26. List some season 7 MSR headcanons

(Um, first of all, thank you, omg. *BLUSHES FURIOUSLY*)

Hmmmm, season 7, eh? 

You know, I gotta say something first, which is: Sometimes in the past when I’ve been asked about headcanons I feel kind of impatient about it, not with the person asking, but because sometimes the writing for me has been SO BAD that it just breaks down my ability to regard it as a real universe and think about what “happened” to Mulder and Scully and like, how to justify certain things (that are stupid). It feels like playing pretend with a toddler or something and saying “I’m sure when you flushed your toy horsie down the toilet it went in the river and floated to the North Pole to live with Santa Claus!” People will be like, what’s your headcanon about Mulder’s brain disease and I’m like, my headcanon is that Chris Carter is a dumbass who doesn’t know how to plan and nothing he writes makes any sense and I resent being the one who has to do the work of making sense of it. 

It’s interesting to me that at the moment, getting this ask, I’m NOT feeling like that. I think it’s Season 11, and it being…you know…good. (*cough* mostly) And Mulder and Scully feeling real to me again. I thought for a while it was because I just knew too much about how the sausage was made, and the actors and the writers and whatever else. And yet, two good episodes into this season, I am feeling it. Like they’re people and not just a bundle of lines and costumes that David and Gillian are good-sporting their way through. I mean, I know that’s still what it is, and is ALWAYS what it is…but the fairy magic that makes it come alive is finally working again, for the first time in a while for me. 

So, I don’t know if that’s it or not. But there was a long time where I didn’t feel much like writing stories about them, and now I kinda do again. So that’s cool. For me. :) 

OK, S7 headcanons. 

Basically the mood of S7 for me is A Good Place. (Not to be confused with *The* Good Place.) As in, M&S are in one. They had a lot of trials (uhh obviously) – Scully’s abduction, Scully’s cancer, Emily, losing the X-files, getting the X-files back, the Mulder’s brain trouble (the canon, onscreen brain trouble from B/6E/AF, not the later retconned fake brain trouble) + Fowley double whammy. In S7 they seem…happy, and lighter. Because (here comes the headcanon part) they’re falling in love. 

And REALISTICALLY, they’ve been in love since like, the third episode. But they’ve been shy about it. And now suddenly their fears and misgivings about it have basically just…evaporated. I don’t subscribe to the “season of secret sex” theory, but I do feel that by S7 it was pretty much a done deal. They knew they were going to be together. They knew the other one knew they were going to be together. They were just kinda waiting for the moment that it was gonna happen. And they spent all day every day together anyway, so like, what was the rush really? 

So my feeling about S7 is that they are totally in love, pretty sure that they both love each other and twitterpatedly happy about that, still A LITTLE BIT shy about the idea of actually making a move or doing something about it, but really not that concerned about the idea that it’s gonna happen eventually, so just enjoying making dopey happy eyes at each other and fending off interested housewives asking questions about their relationship status with secret smiles and “you know, TECHNICALLY not, but” and dreamily telling unrelated children that they like baseball too. 

Mulder finally pulls the trigger in Millennium, and then things start moving, but I adhere to the traditional view that it’s Scully in all things, after being confronted unexpectedly with a reminder of how her life might have been and being able to really look back on the last several years of it and who’s in it and let go of those last misgivings about her choices, who makes the decision to tiptoe into his bedroom (possibly while crunk on sex tea) and put that shit to rest, bro. *pours one out for Carla*

And the rest is history. For like, three more episodes. Then she gets knocked up and Mulder gets abducted. But that’s the next season.

Well, I know the fandom is in a bad place right now and the last thing i want is to spread more hate and negativity so i will not write this as a normal post and people can ignore me but i need this so much right now:

The amount of love i feel for the x files and for Mulder and Scully is endless. I am not even an old fan and i have watched the original run in one sitting but i don’t even know why this fucking show became so important to me. also, the funny thing is that PLOT WISE I was okay with the whole thing. I never hated parts of the show that much. I actually do know the story has flaws and sometimes Chris Carter was a prick to Scully and women and all of that, but I’ve always understood that the time period was different and also the drama on the x files was always kinda justifiable to me??? all the times Scully got abducted or all of that, i never hated it. I also understood it was science fiction and that it was a damn show about genetics’ experiments. Also the Duane barry/Emily storyline - what was done to scully was horrible and I recognise it might be problematic but that storyline was so poignant and well acted that I loved it. Same goes for the cancer arc. Also, in my mind, many bad things happened to Mulder as well. And while i do think there’s things Carter should have tried to do better, I never really hated him for real???? Like whenever i said i hate Chris Carter i was mostly joking because the storylines made me FEEL things but i never thought he RUINED the show? bare with me. then it came William, and that storyline has flaws too but i loved it as a whole. I loved it on s8 and even on s9. i was actually on board with EVERYTHING and when they made William kinda horrible in s11 that started to ruin my headcanon but i was like okay let’s see where this is going. Because after all William did not grow with Mulder and Scully and while i would have liked for them to find him and for him to be all nice and stuff, i could eventually come to terms with the fact that it’s your family that makes you who you are, not your genetics. So Mulder and Scully are nice people and he was not, not my headcanon but i could understand it in a way. BUT the finale goddamn ruined the whole thing for me to the point that i have been feeling so sad and then mad and now i feel disgust and spite??? because i can’t believe that i have to live in a universe where William is actually the result of RAPE and not the result of Mulder and Scully loving each other??? their miracle?? it disgusts me to the point that i don’t know if i will ever be able to rewatch the show. Up to now i never really understood people when they said a single twist or storyine ruined a whole show for them. i never felt this way before. but the hatred and the sadness i feel right now are so REAL. i only wanted one thing from the show, and it was actually the fact that william was supposed to be mulder’s son. he could have been tall, short, red headed, angry, mean, a killer or an angel and that WOULDNT MEAN ANYTHING to me but the fact that Chris Carter made Scully carry her baby daddy’s brother and her LOVER’s brother makes me so sick to the point where i feel like the show has been compromised forever to me I JUST CANT GET OVER IT

Talk about the first ship you ever had. Uhhh… I can’t remember which came first Mulder & Scully or Usagi/Mamoru. (The latter being really icky to me now that I’m older, lol.) I think it was Mulder/Scully… I was in primary school for both of these so it’s confusing cos that was a really long time ago.

Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life. Mulder/Scully (The X Files). I honestly don’t really feel like “talking” about them cos I don’t think it’s very interesting. Also, I have no idea where to begin. Naomi/Emily (Skins) – I fucking can’t stand them now, to be completely honest. I actually sorta hate Emily. By they (and Skins in general) did have a rather huge impact on my life. Now, I feel like I should put Dany/Doreah but really I think more importantly in terms of my life, it would be Marissa/Alex from The O.C. Does that sound stupid? Maybe. But that pairing (as shitty as they treated Alex and the whole relationship by the end) had a fairly huge influence on me. I think it was my first femslash ship that I was totally open about. (I totally shipped Jo/Rachel (and Jo/Rachel/Paul) from S Club 7 (DON’T EVEN!) but back then I didn’t even think it was serious…even though I had a whole website about it, lmao.)

What’s your current OTP? Oh my… Dany/Doreah forever & Marg/Sansa (ASOIAF/GoT). Michelle/Naomi (Skins). Carol/Helen (Episodes). Amanda Rollins/Olivia Benson (SVU). (With a bit of Rollins/Lindsay on the side. SVU/Chicago PD). Niska/Astrid (Humans). … So… Like… A lot? A lot of old OTPs are still OTPs now? Bo/Lauren (Lost Girl). Meg/Veronica (Veronica Mars). Katniss/Johanna (THG). Lou/Tess (Lip Service). Quinn/Rachel (Unreal). Jessica Jones/Trish Walker (Jessica Jones). Virginia Johnson/Lillian DePaul (Masters of Sex)………I think even my few het ships I’m still not totally over (Chase/Cameron, Mulder/Scully, Martin/Sam, etc) but I mean, I don’t really care either.

What’s your current NOTP? Any of the above characters paired with men. Simple. I have a lot of nOTPs tbh. Most canon ships are NOTPs lmao. Although… I guess Patsy/Delia is a current NOTP of mine. Don’t shoot! I just don’t care for them. They are boring to me.

Do you have any poly ships? I was sorta into Marissa/Alex/Ryan (The O.C.). I started a fic about them. And the aforementioned Jo/Paul/Rachel.

How do you feel about love triangles? Lazy. The thing is, they’re a real thing. I’ve been a bunch and they’re just uncomfortable. No matter what, somebody gets hurt. I just feel like in TV/films they’re SO LAZY. An easy way to create drama for drama’s sake. And one faction of fandom is always upset. And usually they’re really shoddily designed so it’s like one girl, 2 boring ass boys fighting for her WHO WILL SHE CHOOSE?! BLAH……. Boring. “The triangle’s not a friendly shape, okay? It’s pointy. It’s got edges. Triangles hurt people, man.”

How do you feel about RPF? Nope. I’m a bit of a hypocrite cos I spent a great deal of time in my childhood sorta straddling the very thin line here with the whole S Club 7 thing. And, I’ll admit, I did enjoy this April Pearson/Lily Loveless fic once.

Have you ever shipped yourself with a character? No. Usually my favs feel a little too relatable which is why I’m attached to them, not cos I wanna bone them. Also, way too much drama. I mean, fictional characters are almost always exaggerated people.

Do you have many ships that never got together at all? All? LMAO. Okay, let’s see… Sam/Martin did, briefly (Fuck Without A Trace tbh. What a horrid little show.) Chase/Cameron were together and that ended badly as well. Carol/Helen, also ended horribly (so far). Mulder/Scully… that’s difficult. They’re difficult. Marissa/Alex, ended horribly. Naomi/Emily, technically… hmmm. Well, as of S4 they were back together but I didn’t buy it and I pretty much loathed Emily by that point so fuck em. That ended badly too. It ended horribly if you count S7–which I don’t cos I never watched it. If I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. Bo/Lauren. Okay, this may be the only bright light in all my ships, lmao. They were together and then not, then together, then not, then END GAME. So, I guess the ones that never got together??? Basically just look above at my OTPs and see all the ones I didn’t mention here ending horribly lol.

Do you ship any characters that have never met? ONLY THE BEST ONE: MICHELLE/NAOMI.

Talk about your favorite first kiss. Like in canon onscreen? Or in my head? Big diff. Chase & Cameron maybe. I loved that episode. Mulder & Scully’s first (onscreen) kiss was a bit weird. I don’t remember Sam/Martin tbh. Hmm… Marissa/Alex was hella stilted and awkward prolly cos it was on FOX and like Mischa Barton is a terrible actress. Bo/Lauren’s first kiss was pretty good. Yeah, I really liked that one. Mostly cos it didn’t fade to black immediately (ahem, Carol/Helen) and it wasn’t set to ‘I Kissed A Girl’ (Naomi/Emily)… Okay, in fairness that was only the American version. The one I saw had Lily Allen playing instead… But still. I loved that episode but it wasn’t the best first kiss I’ve ever seen.

Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together? Yes, when they get together only to end even shittier. Which is basically all of them except Bo/Lauren.

Has a ship ever broken your heart? All of them. Canon and otherwise. My heart breaks on a regular basis.

How do you feel about will they/won’t they? Ugh. Useless. Generally, it’s queerbaiting when it’s my femslash OTPs. When it’s het, I’m just like, “As if these two lonely, outrageously attractive co-workers wouldn’t have banged already. Like, give me a break and just do it already. Who believes this shit?”

Have you ever “shipped at first sight”? Lemme think… Probably? I can’t actually recall any specifics however. Not Mulder/Scully, I know that. The first time I saw them, it was New Year’s Eve and I spent the entire show huddled on the sofa in my friend’s basement with her and her cousins, shaking and screaming, lmao. The X-Files really isn’t great TV for easily scared children with big imaginations, lbr.

Talk about a ship you initially disliked. One that I like now that I disliked previously? Erm. None. I don’t flipflop on ships, lbr. It goes like this: I am oblivious/indifferent to ship, depending. I see ship. I ship ship. I love ship. And it’s only then that this can diverge. Either I stay in love forever, or I end up positively hating the show/pairing and I stop shipping it, or it just kinda dies out over time. Normally it’s the first or second, rarely the third.

Talk about a pairing you’ve stopped shipping romantically. And now just ship them only as friends? Or stopped shipping them and dislike them now and don’t want to have anything to do with them? The latter is clearly Sam/Martin. I just hated how the characters were written and the show was fucking awful after S3. The former… Ah, the former. I think this really has to be Naomi/Emily. I am 1457% Naomi/Michelle, no alternatives accepted. Naomily is toxic imo. Like so incredibly nope. I am -100000% Naomily. I stopped shipping them mid-S4, probably during Katie’s episode. I was just like, “Nope, this is pretty gross and not healthy and what the fuck?!” I gave up completely at the finale when it was so fucking stupid. I think by then I’d already had my Michelle/Naomi dream… Anyway. Like, I literally cannot handle Naomi/Emily anymore. At most, I can deal with them as friends. But even then, sometimes I wonder if writing them that way in my fics is pandering in some sense. It’s not intentional pandering to Naomily stans… but, now I look back and wonder? They’re just so awful together romantically. I shudder.

Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship. Hmmm…. Carol/Helen in Griffith Park in 4x09 when she makes Carol give back her bra. That whole episode was really nasty and really awful and not funny at all. I really dislike the writing there. It was just… Helen was just disgusting really and it made me really uncomfortable about shipping it. I have other examples but it only asked for one.

Have you ever shipped something despite yourself? She-Ra and He-Man. I had no idea they were brother and sister when I was little but I thought they were cute together. Oops. It wasn’t until a few years back when I mentioned them at a party and everyone was like, “Errr, you do know they were twins, yeah?” NO. I DID NOT.

Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping. Carol/Helen. I feel like the few people that shipped it with me on tumblr here were really turned off by their breakup. And also, it’s been on hiatus forever. Also, I suppose Claire Dearing/Zara Young from Jurassic World, lmao.

Is there a ship you just don’t get, but have nothing against? Most het ones? Like, just… why would you be with that puffy wonderbread boy when you could be with this other hot lady and have 10003x times more chemistry and interestingness? (Like I mean, I’m totally talking about Erin Lindsay and that gay dude she’s fucking, when it would be so much better if she was with Rollins, lmao. You go watch the crossovers episodes and tell me I’m imagining that.) Other het ships, I have definite things against the men.

Which of your ships have the best chemistry? OH GOD. Now, ermmmm…. this depends almost exclusively on my own headcanon/bias so obvs others aren’t likely to agree. Cos, well, Michelle/Naomi have hella chemistry LMAO. Like just look at this photo. Clearly. Okay, seriously… Bo/Lauren. Like hands down, undoubtedly.

Which of your ships deserve better writing? Every single one of them. Especially Dany/Doreah lmao.

Do you mostly ship canon pairings? Clearly not.

Have you ever shipped a pairing before you even started watching the show/movie simply because of gifs and graphics or similar? Skins. Lost Girl. Actually, hmm. I saw gifs of LG but I guess it wasn’t until I saw Zoie Palmer at a film premiere I went to that I was like, “WHO IS THAT?!” And then I realised I had to start watching that programme.

Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to? Blonde/Brunette. Like, it’s really obvious. But not 100%. Otherwise, I don’t really see any substantial patterns.

Is there a ship you’ve shipped for most of your life? Mulder/Scully.

Does shipping come easily to you? Neither here nor there. If it clicks, it clicks.

Do you need to ship something to really enjoy a movie/book/tv show/comic? Most of the time. But then sometimes shipping gets in the way of my enjoyment cos it becomes all about the pairing.

Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships. Fortitude? Honestly… I don’t even know. I watch a bunch of TV I have no particular interest in shipping anybody. Oh! Here’s one NASHVILLE. I honestly do not care who’s with whom. It’s irrelevant.

Talk about one of your favorite headcanons for a ship you love. Dany/Doreah – Doreah is alive. That’s it. That’s the headcanon. (And bonus, Dany takes Doreah to Lys and burns down the pleasure house Doreah was sold to as a child.) I have to add that most of my fav headcanons revolve around one half of my OTP still being alive. Which is both sad and really telling. (Like… Doreah, Margaery, Naomi, Meg, Marissa, Lillian… Ouch.)

Do you like and use ship names? I generally stay away from them unless I to find stuff/want people to find my stuff on tumblr. I find them cloying.

Is there a fictional relationship you’d really want for yourself? Hell no. Real life is difficult enough.

If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be? They would all be alive. Sensing a pattern? Also, being canon would be nice.

   Who’s Scully and who’s Mulder: I feel like they'd both kinda be a healthy blend of Scully AND Mulder? But I would say Viktor leans SLIGHTLY more towards Mulder and Yuri leans SLIGHTLY more towards Scully, just because I see Yuri as more cautious and Viktor as the nub who would wake up one morning and go "Alright Bigfoot Hunting Day!!"

   Who loves cold pizza and who thinks it’s disgusting: Yuri thinks it's absolutely DISGUSTING, Viktor doesn't *like* it but he'll eat it because he's lived alone for his entire adult life and can't cook so he eats what's available to him, Yuri is a little horrified at some of the stuff he puts in his mouth honestly

   Who’s more likely to casually wear the other’s underwear and who’s more likely to always ask to see it: Neither really share underwear, oddly enough, because their sizes are quite different and it's usually uncomfortable, plus, since they both wear boxers, there's not really as much of a sexual quality to it as there would be if one of them wore panties on the regular (they do but only on sexual occassions) Every now and then they're in a rush and accidentally grab the wrong pair, and once in a wile Yuri will put on Viktor's to try to seduce him, but that's really as good as it gets (Viktor only ever wears Yuri's by mistake because Yuri has really slim hips and it's too tight for Viktor to be comfortable)

   Who can’t sleep without their special pillow/tea/sound machine/whatever and who can sleep literally anywhere: Viktor can and will sleep anywhere as long as he has something breathing to use as a pillow (Makkachin, Yuri, one time he used Yurio when they were sharing a cab to the airport and let me tell you how much Yurio did not appreciate that) Yuri can sleep most places if he's tired and has a dark place to rest his eyes, so if he has a sleeping mask or can snuggle into Viktor's shoulder it isn't a problem

   Who orders those terrible cooking appliances from infomercials three times a month and who sighs dramatically everytime they see a package on the porch: Yuri has tried ordering them a few times over the years but has learned his lesson, Viktor, however, believes everything he sees on TV and poor Yuri always feels a sense of dread now whenever there's a box on the doorstep

   Who doesn’t trust traditional medicine and has weird natural cures for everything and who’s lowkey afraid to ever get sick because of it: Someone wrote a headcanon about Viktor having a huge variety of weird Russian remedies for EVERYTHING and Yuri being a long-suffering victim and I completely believe that headcanon

   Who casually brings up sex at the breakfast table and who chokes on their cereal because of it: Viktor casually brings it up just about anywhere and Yuri chokes on //air//, he doesn't even need cereal

   Who gets the same ice cream flavor every single time and who always experiments with the newest, craziest ones available: Viktor tries every crazy flavor he can find, Yuri is really plain about ice cream and just gets pretty much the same thing all the time

   Who’s more likely to be a starving artist and who’s more likely to settle for a well-paying job that they hate: I can really honestly see it going both ways for both of them but I would say Viktor is more likely to be a starving artist and Yuri is more likely to work at a job he hates just because Viktor has more confidence in himself, I feel like Viktor KNOWS he's a good artist and KNOWS he can make a living at it if he tries hard enough so he won't settle for less, but Yuri's severe lack of confidence means that he's more likely to give up and settle for something he hates to make a living if he has to, on the other hand though I can see Yuri being a starving artist if he can sincerely make peace with that/be ok with living on a thin line of financial support because I don't think money matters to Yuri, so if he can SURVIVE he'll dedicate his time to art, and I can also see Viktor taking a job he hates if he's influenced to, if he were only around people who didn't believe in him and pushed him to do something stable, he would do it just to satisfy them
