is he really surprised when you call him your husband? not really. he knows he’s a husband material, and you often make jokes about him being your husband anyways. that doesn’t mean he isn’t freaking about it on the inside, though, because no matter how many times you call him that as a silly little joke, it still makes him so incredibly happy that one day, he’ll really be your husband, and you won’t be calling him that as a joke anymore

one of the “turns into a shy, blushy, and a stuttering mess” squad. he’d malfunction at first, point at himself, and melt into a puddle of fluff, and love. one - how dare you call him your literal husband as a joke??? second - give him all the kisses, and hugs, because his first instincts is to run away, and break out in tears from all the love. he doesn’t really know what to do with himself after you say that word, but you can be sure it’ll be in his head for the rest of the day

soonyoung would be confused for a second, because “wait, are you talking about me?” and when he’d finally understand that, yes - you were talking about him (because who else would you be talking about), he’d get so smiley and giggly and shy, and just turn into the cutest bean. he’d immediately cling to you, wrapping his arms around you and trapping you in a warm hug, giggling like a maniac

cue shy wonwoo with his lil cat smile. he can’t help the butterflies fluttering in his tummy, and as much as he’d want to tease you for calling him your husband, he’d be too shy to actually do it. you calling him that would make him so happy for some reason, even though he knows that you mainly do it as a prank or a joke to mess with him. don’t do it in front of people, though, or he’ll run away

“anything for you, baby.” woozi always indulges in all of your silly antics and jokes, and this time it’d be no different. he’d try to act as unaffected as he could, but his acting skills are not always the best, so you’d still be able to catch a glimpse of a small smile and blushy cheeks. he isn't the type to think about marriage, kids, and your domestic future together, he prefers to focus on what you have now, but hearing that word coming from you, would make his heart flutter a bit faster

“yes, i am.” smiles cutely at you, and gives you a bone crushing hug, while freaking the fuck out on the inside. he won’t comment on it too much in the moment, but the way he’d be extra clingy throughout the day, giving you ten times more kisses, and hugs, and pouts, and any physical affection. the thought of becoming your husband some day is so??? because it will happen someday, and that’s kind of crazy

cue mingoo giggles, because that man would not be able to behave himself after hearing the word husband from you. will whine, smile, laugh, hug you, pick you up and spin you around like a lovesick teenager, and when he finally calms down, he’d give you the biggest smooch. even though you had marriage talks plenty of times before - you both knew you’d get married some time in the feature, hearing it from you - saying it so casually, messed with his heart so much

as someone who has mentioned a couple of times before that he wants to get married, hearing the word “husband” coming from you would make him so so happy and giddy, to the point where he’d just stand there with a lovesick smile on his face, and the urge to hug and kiss the life out of you (he wouldn’t though, he has to keep his composure) (but don’t worry, he’d kiss your forehead and tell you how much he loves you) (all with an adorable blush covering his cheeks)

turns into a shy and blushy mess. seungkwan’s first instinct is to hide his face in his hands or your neck, so you wouldn’t see the effect that the word had on him (even though you could clearly see how it affected him). then he’d probably proceed to yell at you (lovingly) for making such mean jokes (he wants to be your husband now, boyfriend is not enough)

at first he would think that he had misheard you, so you’d have to repeat the word two or three more times, because why would you ever call him your husband? and when you’d clarify that, yes - you did say the word “husband”, and yes - it was directed to him, vernon would just stare at you with big eyes but no thoughts. you’d laugh at him immediately, because the lack of his reaction was even funnier than if he’d react. then he’d say “thank you” and proceed with the rest of his day with the word “husband” floating around his head

leechan.exe has stopped working. looks at you with the biggest puppy eyes, pointing at himself, as if he was asking if you were really talking about him. it’s so crazy to him that you’d call him that even as a joke, because hearing the word “husband” coming from you is??? hello??? and the fact that someday he’ll really be your husband??? you can expect chan to be a bit more clingy than he usually is (a bit more pouty too, because what do you mean you called him that as a joke?)

Hello, hello! I'm going alright, and very happy to have my internet connection back!

Andorians and Vulcans have quite a few cultural incompatibilities, really. I'll list the most common points for you!

Meat:

Andorians are technically omnivores, but only just. They consume huge amounts of protein and fats in the form of meat, and only replicate meat about forty percent of the time. Everyone agrees that real, fresh meat just tastes better. Vulcans find this barbaric, to put it mildly. During their more active conflicts, Andorians in Vulcan prison camps were forced to subsist off of replicated, protein-heavy Vulcan fare - which Andorians, of course, did not digest particularly well, and struggled to draw nutrients from. The prisoners, unsurprisingly, developed profound nutrient deficiencies. Andorians considered this to be cruel and unusual punishment at best, and a war crime at worst.

Vulcan prisoners of war were likewise forced to consume actual meat, for lack of any other alternatives. While no one can say they were deprived of food, what the Andorians had on offer was not at all suited to the Vulcan way of life, or their physiology. Recovered citizens often required significant psychological and, in some cases, moderate medical intervention afterwards. It remains a common sticking point between the two factions.

Physical touch:

Andorians are constantly touching people. They're a highly social species with insectoid traits, and frequent contact on a daily basis is a part of healthy socialization. While their society has become heavily ritualized regarding interactions between different social ranks and between strangers to prevent conflict, friendly Andorians are very easy-going with physical contact even in professional environments.

The average Vulcan would rather have a fatal aneurysm than spend a day trapped in a room with friendly Andorians. Physical touch is highly regulated amongst Vulcans, who are touch-telepaths, and even bonded couples rarely interact physically in public.

(Andorians don't actually capitalize on this, despite what some might think. Contact of this nature is for friends and family only.)

Nudity taboos:

An extension of the physical touch incompatibility, Andorians also have no taboos centered around nudity and the physical form. Their concept of privacy is also largely theoretical, at least from a Human perspective. Communal bathing is common, as is sleeping in groups.

Vulcans, by comparison, have extreme taboos and social regulations regarding their bodies and their personal space. They do not bathe communally if it can be avoided. They do not share sleeping quarters unless bonded (and sometimes, only during specific times). They do not trespass on another's personal privacy if it can at all be helped.

Incense:

Vulcans are very fond of a particular kind of incense. Exact formulas for their incense vary by region, but all of them contain a plant-based ingredient that infallibly sends Andorians into violent sneezing fits. Lighting Vulcan incense around Andorians is considered incredibly rude.

This has yet to stop the Vulcans, who can be remarkably petty when they have a mind to be.

Music:

Andorians favour wildly expressive and emotive music, designed to provoke and release emotion. Andorian operas are known for being incredibly moving and cathartic, and it's not unusual for opera-goers to weep during a particularly fine performance.

Vulcans find these displays of overt emotion distasteful. The fundamental nature of music is mathematical and logical, and while the mind cannot always be inherently logical the brain preferentially seeks out patterns as an evolutionary trait. Therefore, it is logical that certain arrangements are considered pleasing by many. That is all.

Marriage & Bonding:

Vulcans pair-bond, and they can bond quite powerfully given their inherent psychic ability as well. They do not, however, go beyond pair-bonds; their instincts will not suffer anything that could be considered a rival for their mates. The fact that Andorians bond in couples and then go on to marry into quads is fundamentally incompatible with Vulcan instincts, and while Vulcans strive to overcome their violent natures some things still linger.

The fact that Andorian bonds are unbreakable, even against the efforts of an accomplished Vulcan mind-healer, was at first unfathomable to Vulcans. How could a species whose individuals bond to so many form such strong bonds as well? Surely, the number of bonds must weaken the strength of each individual bond!

Andorians, when asked, will coldly point out that the deliberate sabotage of a mating bond is an egregious crime, and initial Vulcan experiments regarding the matter are also considered war crimes.

The Vulcans, in response, find it sufficient to pull up images of the "chairs" that Andorians used in wartime (and out of it) to break Vulcan prisoners.

Neither side leaves the argument looking particularly good.

I guess Bj wouldn't be as kind and selfless to let Lydia marry someone else, so is the dream theory more realistic?

I guess it depends entirely on interpretation, but my take on it is that for Betelgeuse to be selfish and possessive enough of Lydia to intervene in her relationships it would depend on the person she's involved with and how the relationship is going. Like I mentioned before in this post, he simply might not have had the power to intervene or even reach Lydia beyond just projecting flashes of his presence around her, when she was with Richard, but I can also believe that he just let her go and be happy during that time. However, he definitely wanted to intervene in her relationship with Rory, because Rory was a toxic partner and would eventually destroy Lydia. He was already destroying her, as a matter of fact. So in this case, Betelgeuse would never allow this man to have his Lydia, no way. He'd have done anything possible to get in the way.

When it comes to Lydia, Betelgeuse is just different. Lydia is special and he does love her, so he might just have been putting her best interest and her happiness first when she was with Richard, even above his own feelings, which is big for someone like Betelgeuse if you ask me. I don't know for sure how long he was like trapped in the model before Barbara and Adam dug him up (probably since the moment Adam built the model?), but my assumption is that even before he was bound to the model he was strapped down some other way by Juno in the afterlife (and if I add my own little headcanon, even before he was stopped by Juno he was an aimless spirit unable to move on, bound to the ritual of marriage), so Lydia is definitely the first woman he loved since Delores (don't think there were other ghost ladies in his afterlife, is what I mean), it would be natural that he became possessive of the one person he made a connection with in hundreds of years. Lydia is the first woman he's fallen in love with since Delores. This is confirmed in the wedding dance scene. That said, if he loves her truly, part of loving someone is letting them go if their happiness depends on it. (Once Lydya is free after Rory, though, the story is different; now Betelgeuse has a shot and I don't see him letting her go any time soon 😉).

I already shared my thoughts about the Dream Theory before, but I can add a little more here to answer the question more completely. While I personally have a different interpretation of the events in the movie, I do find the Dream Theory very intriguing and interesting to read. I can say in some ways it can be more realistic, considering Betelgeuse's nature, and looking at Lydia as a character. Lydia is attracted to the darkness; she likes the strange and unusual, and she described herself as such in the first movie. She might have at some point called on Betelgeuse after the Maitlands moved on, and opted to live with him rather than to live with another living person. The first Beetlejuice movie doesn't really go into Lydia's head when it comes to Betelgeuse. It could be that any persistent negative ideas she had about him were all put in her head by Barbara. As she grew older she might have changed the way she viewed him and even be intrigued by him. The Maitlands were definitely more her parents than Charles and Delia ever were, and Lydia always connected more with the dead than the living (we can throw in Astrid's resentment about this fact here as a reflection of guilt in Lydia's subconscious about it, if Astrid truly is a dream figure existing only in the dream). This is all speculative, of course, but yes I don't think it's unrealistic to conclude that it was all a construct of Betelgeuse's power. I have a different interpretation, which I talked about in the post linked above.

When it comes to Lydia, Betelgeuse is softer, and I think he would do pretty much anything for her. Whether that is being selfless and allowing her the freedom to love someone else, when he failed to reach her, or building a dreamverse for her to experience the things she can't have while being his forever partner.

In Greek mythology, Amphitrite was the goddess of the sea and the wife of Poseidon, the god of the sea. She was also the mother and Queen of sea life like fish, seals, and dolphins. Amphitrite was originally a Nereid, or sea nymph, and the eldest of the 50 Nereids. one of the 50 (or 100) daughters (the Nereids) of Nereus and Doris (the daughter of Oceanus).

Reader known for being "shy" and doesn't like being caught. She's afraid of being married because she's heard stories about how most of gods treat their wives/partners. She's independent and gentle but not a pushover & has a protective/brave side (only to her family and sea life). She prefers a quiet life and is content as long as she is treated well.

In how their 1st meet: (though you can change some of these if you like) When Poseidon was looking for a marriage partner. Poseidon first laid eyes on Amphitrite while she was dancing at low tide with her sisters on the isle of Naxos. He immediately fell in love with her and asked for her hand in marriage. Amphitrite, heard of rumors of him and She's quite fearful of his tempestuous nature, refused his advances everytime they met and she tried to fled from him.

Warnings: Poseidon can be a warning himself (he is trying, okay?), Reader is scared of him so she runs away, some Angst with comfort.

• Doris and Nereus were known for having a prolific offspring, having in their repertoire very strong sons and beautiful daughters, ocean nymphs known as Nereids. Some had a specific purpose, others simply enjoyed the life they had in the ocean, and very few really did not want to attract attention, given their status and natural beauty.

• However, as with everything, there are exceptions. That was the category that she, Amphitrite, fell into the most.

• Don't get me wrong, Amphitrite loved exploring, messing around with humans, and dancing just as much as any of her sisters, however, she was painfully aware of how complicated it was to be a nymph in the Greek pantheon. If any nymph caught the attention of a god, she ended up either cursed or turned into some animal or plant. There were no happy endings for them out there, not with the gods.

• And even if they could survive to marry a god, there was no guarantee that it would be a happy marriage in the long run, just look at the kind of relationships the gods had with each other. Zeus and Hera, constantly arguing every time a new demi-god appeared on earth. Or Hades and Persephone, who couldn't even spend the whole year together. Who would choose to live through that suffering on purpose?

• Because of that, Amphitrite decided to spend time with her sisters instead of potentially exposing herself to the band of vultures that were the gods of Olympus. Even if the idea of finding someone for herself didn't sound bad (on the contrary, it sounded nice), she wouldn't allow herself to be trapped in a Golden cage.

• Unfortunately (or fortunately, however you want to look at it), she had no idea of the issues that were being discussed on Mount Olympus, specifically, regarding a certain god.

• Poseidon, the tyrant of the seas, seemed more angry and unpredictable every day. Even if Zeus and Hades knew how to prevent things from getting worse, that wouldn't always work, they couldn't keep an eye on him all the time. They had to find a solution to their problem, right now.

• Fortunately, Hades had been studying his little brother's behavior very closely, and he noticed that there was a pattern, he always stopped the storms in a certain area, near the island of Naxos.

• An area which was known, where several of Doris and Nereus' daughters could be seen dancing. It was a kind of custom that they had every time they were on the shores of that city. And it seems that Poseidon was quite interested in that (or, rather, one of Nereus' daughters)

• This could be a golden opportunity to solve the problem, and at the same time, finally get Poseidon a permanent companion, who, somehow, would keep him in line.

• Hades and Zeus discussed it, and decided to put this idea into action. Telling Poseidon that they were going to Naxos to settle a “matter” with Nereus and since it was his domain, they needed him (neither brother missed how Poseidon seemed more interested than usual in a diplomatic interaction)

• They even had the “luck” that when they went to Naxos, there were several of Nereus and Doris’ daughters, as always, dancing on the shores.

• Much to Nereus’ surprise (while Zeus and Hades were rather amused), Poseidon didn’t seem interested in getting involved with whatever his brothers told him, at that moment, he just focused on watching the Nereids. Or, rather, one specific one, Amphitrite.

• Yep, she was, the woman who had caught his brother’s attention, the one who was able to make the feared tyrant of the seas calm for the first time in how many centuries. They knew they had to act now, or they might lose this opportunity. However, Zeus was the one who decided to bring it up with Nereus.

• He briefly explained the situation, that Poseidon could use a partner, and that it would be of great help to them if Nereus would be so kind as to introduce him to his daughters. Obviously Nereus wasn't going to try to argue with the god of the universe, even if he wanted to plead for his daughters, he gave in, afraid of the repercussions.

• A part of Poseidon wanted to strangle Zeus for his stupid ruse, but on the other hand, he played along without much thought, almost as if he was eager to choose the "lucky" nymph who would be his wife.

• Amphitrite saw all this happen before her eyes, a part of her wanted to run away on the spot, but she had the slightest hope, the smallest one, that the god of the seas wouldn't choose her as a partner. But that hope didn't seem very big, not when she could feel the tyrant of the seas staring at her, very intensely, as she walked to her father's side.

• Amphitrite wanted to be calm, she wished she wasn't so scared, after all, he hadn't done anything wrong yet, right? But Poseidon's name alone made even the bravest tremble, it was like a sign that, whatever this god's intentions were, it wouldn't end well for her.

• And that was what she felt, when Poseidon, without hesitation, pointed at her at the moment of choosing between her sisters, she felt her heart sink, how it was difficult for her to breathe air, she had to get out of there, think about it, but she had to be FAR AWAY—

• Before anyone could stop her, Amphitrite jumped into the water at the shore, and swam out to sea at full speed, to everyone's surprise.

• Obviously, Poseidon isn't happy with this. Almost offended by the nymph's behavior, he seems to make the seas even more unstable in his search.

• On one such day, Hades appears to try to appease him, after all, what kind of image will he be giving to his future wife, if his response to an inconvenience is to throw a tantrum?

• Hades tries to make Poseidon see things from Amphitrite's point of view, so that he doesn't scare her so much the next time they meet. When it seems that Poseidon understood enough, Hades gives him another piece of valuable information; Amphitrite's location. Poseidon left in such a big hurry that it didn't even occur to him to reproach his brother for not telling him right away.

• Amphitrite, meanwhile, only dedicated herself to collecting the snails within reach, staying out of sight thanks to some sea rocks. Not really knowing what to do next, only praying that Poseidon would lose interest in her soon so she could return home.

• However, she didn't expect to start receiving company.

• At first, it was just some small sea animals, like crabs and turtles. They approached her as if trying to cheer her up, make her feel better. Then other animals started coming (as the tides rose), like sea horses, fish, etc.

• Amphitrite didn't really know what to do at first, afraid that they would betray her to the gods, but the animals didn't seem to have hostile intentions, on the contrary, they made her forget for a moment why she was there.

• However, Amphitrite wasn't naive. While she was petting a dolphin on the shore, still covered by the rocks of the sea, she decided to ask a question in the air, about whether this was his way of saying he was sorry. No answer.

• Okay, it seems that he is not very talkative (at least they have that in common), time to try another topic.

• Amphitrite complimented the appearance of the dolphin that demanded her attention on her lap, also highlighting his playful attitude. This time there was a response, even if it was brief, about how additionally, they were intelligent.

• They stayed like that for a while, Amphitrite pointing out both the positive and negative aspects of marine animals, it was strange, even knowing who was answering, she no longer felt the same fear as before when being near him. Is he really the same god? The same one who caused storms, earthquakes and tsunamis, was also talking to her about the fauna of his domain? It was something unbelievable.

• Eventually, Amphitrite decided to face the elephant in the room. She asked him if this was his way of convincing her to accept him as a husband, if so, what assured her that she would not be a trophy wife? What assured her that she would not have a miserable existence?

• The other side of the conversation was silent for a moment, when Amphitrite was losing hope, finally the god spoke.

• He told her some things that she had not noticed, things that he noticed when he saw her(several times) in Naxos. How she cared so much about her family, how she liked to collect seashells and shiny things from the shores to make ornaments after dancing, how gentle she was with the creatures. It was something he could never understand, but it brought him peace to see her.

• Amphitrite didn't know what to say, this was something she genuinely didn't expect, not from the tyrant of the seas at least. Maybe, just maybe, she could try this, maybe she could take the chance, maybe things could be okay, with him.

• If we talk about the relationship after these events, it's much better than many think.

• I say this because every time Poseidon says he's married, you can feel a general aura of concern for the woman, which, while very effective in annoying the tyrant of the seas, the only one who can prevent it from turning into carnage is Amphitrite.

• She has a comfortable life, not only because of the aspects of being royalty and ruling one of the three domains of the Greek pantheon alongside her husband, but she is generally enjoying this kind of life.

• Amphitrite and Poseidon have good communication (ironic given how it was their first time meeting), so while Amphitrite has luxuries and comforts, they are also adapted to her tastes.

• Her crown, for example, was made by herself, with a mix of starfish, pearls and shells. Poseidon gave her as a wedding gift a specific area of his palace so she could be with her favorite sea creatures. And, above all, Amphitrite could come and go as she pleased, dancing with her sisters in Naxos, touring the coasts of Greece, etc.

• (I like to think that Amphitrite also enjoys dancing in the palace, sometimes Poseidon just shows up and stares at her in the doorway)

• Poseidon is someone difficult for everyone to read, but Amphitrite is probably the only one who knows what he is thinking (and vice versa), which makes it of UTMOST IMPORTANCE that she attends her brothers' events with him (neither of them wants to go, but there is no option. They either leave early or make an excuse together to stay with the sea animals).

• Fortunately, the seas are much calmer and less deadly now, but be careful, not all of Amphitrite's charm can retain her husband's character. Although a part of me says she prefers it that way.

ngl I think all 3 of these dudes would have a weird adjustment period to being husbands, though frankly I think Scale would maybe have the easiest time (well-- MAYBE Haru, but okay---)

Aside from the stuff pertaining to his career, he's actually a very sweet and loving husband

Not necessarily a 'I made a home cooked meal in my apron' every night kind of loving but more a 'I stopped by that place you like and got us dinner' type

also def kind of nerdy husband but less about magic or dnd and more about weapons and armor (though don't get it twisted, he'll get down hard on some dnd)

lots of quality time whenever he's home

lots of texts when he's away

lots of cuddles on the couch and falling asleep in each others arms

he knows your favorites and brings flowers when he's been gone for a while

you're his home <3

and frankly he's very protective of that home

how would the sve adventurers with marlon, and mages with camilla, jadu, & magnus react to a farmer who is an actively wanted fugitive in the gotoro empire, and also wanted by the ferngill republic for crimes committed against figures in both governments? and when revealed why exactly they did these things, it’s because they were killing them due to said figures being corrupt and harming the people? perhaps even going as far as to get rid of any wizards or witches in the ferngill republic ministry of magic who do it solely for the fame or adventures in various guilds in the order of the knights of pythagoras who are in it for the money and not to protect people? how would they react to this farmer, who’s been right under their watch the whole time, actually turn out to be someone they’ve been trying to capture for years, and completely evading them? i’d imagine even more angst if they had already formed complex relationships and friendships with everyone, only to be a wanted criminal, despite their inherently good intentions.

Headcanon when people who had good motives to protect the world killed other people who were corrupted and bad by their standards?*looking in the direction of the Cult of The Lady With The Red Tail from RSV mod* Yeah, I've heard something about that...

Isaac knew there was something fishy about Farmer! His own gut was screaming that something was wrong with them, and, oh look, he was absolutely right. The very same promising young adventurer, whom almost everyone praised to the skies (and even Isaac himself almost fell into this trap, accepting the offer of friendship), turned out to be a rotten through and through criminal. Killing corrupt people? That's just fucking wonderful, how honorable they are! Isaac wonders who gave Farmer the right to decide the fate of people? Who gave them the right to be judge and executioner? Corrupt adventurers and mages are scumbags who deserve to be punished. But Farmer is no better than them. So Isaac will drag them to the justice, and use force if he has to.

Magnus now doesn't know what's worse: the fact that Farmer he trusted turned out to be a criminal wanted by the Ministry of Magic, or the fact that almost half of his friends and colleagues (some already killed) turned out to be criminals too. And criminals not of the level of "stole 10000g" from the budget, but responsible for some disasters caused by magic that contributed to hundreds of innocent lives. Does he believe Farmer? Of course he believes him, since the wizard managed to put the seal of truth on them. Which, however, doesn't mean Magnus agrees with their path of vigilant. And so when they both decide to deal with the remaining corrupt adventurers, Farmer will also have to recognize their responsibility for killing others. And no, they can't refuse. Because Magnus has managed to put another seal on them...

Camilla only smirked after Farmer's admission. "I know all that, dear. Otherwise you'd have been rotting behind bars in a dungeon long ago." Instead of trying to explain to the main witch of the Galdora Continent about how Farmer had managed to become a wanted man in the Gotoro Empire/Ferngill Republic, they have to listen to details from Camilla that even they didn't know. Turns out she's been covering them. All the time. Why? Because she is well aware of all the secrets of some of her "colleagues" who never got a deserved punishment. Farmer was the first to confront them openly, even at the cost of their reputation. So Camilla felt it was her duty to help them cleanse all "pests". Oh, and she strongly advises them not to tell anyone about what the two of them have just talked about.

Alesia didn't even realise how she'd pointed the bowstring at the Farmer. All this time the man who was killing adventurers was right under her nose.... The sniper didn't take Isaac's warning too seriously... She may not have the same keen sense for criminals like her friend, but Alesia's eagle eyes and skilful hands would definitely keep her from missing if they try to escape. Maybe Farmer's telling the truth. Either way, they're both going to go deal with Camilla, she's sure to get the truth out. In the meantime. Alesia advises Farmer not to make any sudden moves. Unless they want an arrow in the head. So far all the facts are against Farmer: their word vs. entire murder reports of high profile adventurers...

Jadu is at a complete loss. On the one hand, common sense tells him that the man before him is a dangerous criminal who has broken the laws not only in the Republic, but also in the Gotoro Empire, which is at war with it. Not a word of such a person can be trusted. On the other hand, all the adventurers, witches and wizards who had fallen by the Farmer's hand had indeed had rumours of venality and even involvement in dark deeds. But they were just rumours! What if the Farmer had made a mistake, and destroyed a completely innocent man, framed by someone else? That never occurred to them?! Jadu must get them to the Ministry because he doesn't believe a word they say. And don't underestimate him, he is after all, a battle mage as good as any.

Well... That explains a lot to Lance. And there's no need for Farmer to look at him so surprised. After all, the gallant adventurer is not lacking in intelligence and is a very shrewd man. Lance was conducting his own, if you will, investigation, but he did it as carefully and from a distance as possible, so as not to cross the wrong person. Because there were inconsistencies in official statements about past tragedies in Castle Village. Then came the murders of suspicious members of the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras, all the blame was on "criminal №1" (Farmer, as it turned out), and then.... Hmm, yes, now that makes sense. Lance will get Farmer to Camilla, let them tell her everything, and wait to see what others say at the general court. "They were criminals, Farmer. But you too need to answer for your crimes. Murder is no way to solve problems."

Marlon outwardly may seem to have reacted very calmly to the truth, but inside the one-eyed adventurer a storm of emotions raged. His apprentice, a new member of the Adventurer's Guild, is the very same wanted killer of monster hunters from other guilds and clans. His murdered colleagues, according to Farmer's words, were not noble protectors of human race, but cowards and corrupt bastards. But is that true? Should Farmer be believed at all? What should Marlon even believe now? He's angry, but quickly calms down so he doesn't accidentally make any hasty decisions in a fit of rage. "You're in deep shit, kid." That was all Marlon could say. Better get Gil and Magnus to solve this problem with Farmer.

if you are still doing ship game, thoughts on jily?

thank you very much, anon - i am always taking questions both on romantic ships and on characters' platonic vibes, the more unhinged the better.

although jily can't really be described in those terms, not least because their narrative purpose in canon is to be little more than blank canvases onto which harry can project as he goes through his series-long character arc, shedding his initial hero worship of james when confronted with the reality of his father's behaviour in order of the phoenix and starting both to fully appreciate lily's centrality to the course his life is taking and to see his dad with nuance as a real and fully-rounded person, flaws and all.

this narrative role means that the glimpses we get of them in canon feel kind of superficial - their bantering during snape's worst memory is basically high-school-teen-movie level, the snapshots of their life under lockdown in deathly hallows lovely and bittersweet but also just colour to a storyline which is already all of those things.

and this is not to say that i find jily uninteresting as a ship - i completely reject the common anti-jily position that they didn't really like each other, that they had nothing in common, or that their backgrounds made them incompatible [i'll expand on this below, but while i do think that their respective blood statuses and the impact of these on their relationship are worth thinking about, i loathe fics which portray james as chafing against his marriage because, as a pureblood, he'd be more comfortable with someone 'of his own kind'. this is bullshit, and there's far, far too much of it in this fandom]. my views on one of james' most frequent non-lily partnerships are well known, and i share the outrage many jily fans have for the way lily in particular is treated in a subfandom increasingly dominated by rigid fanon which prioritises giving depth to male characters [even if those characters are, in essence, oc's] and slash relationships over exploring the canon female characters, partnered or not.

but i do also find that a lot of jily falls into the same trap as much of the hinny i dislike - that is, a tendency to present as a sunshine-and-roses fairytale a relationship which is much more interesting if the things which canon implies [and which can be reasonably inferred outside of canon scenes from a canon coherent engagement with the text] might have introduced an element of dysfunction into james and lily's partnership are taken into account.

the shadow of the war is obviously one of these things. what role lily actually plays in the resistance is something which preoccupies me [she is never mentioned in canon to have taken a combat role - and i find it considerably more plausible that any attempt voldemort made to recruit her was at snape's request and connected to her potions prowess] particularly because, as we see in the way her death is memorialised in deathly hallows, the series regards the defence of the integrity of the nuclear family as a key aim for the good guys. how does she interact with james and his wartime role when she's pregnant, nursing, or in hiding for the vast majority of her time in the order? how does she feel about her husband being a soldier if she's behind the scenes?

indeed, what role james [and sirius] plays in the order is also something i'm obsessed with thinking about - not least because so much of the inherent tragedy of the marauders' storyline is caused by the fact that james and sirius think they're fucking invincible and that their plans to keep the potters safe are foolproof. it's entirely reasonable to read james and sirius as being pretty gung-ho about being paramilitaries - and my headcanon is absolutely that more battled-hardened order members didn't like them very much [moody does not, after all, seem massively fond of sirius] - and lily seems affected by this too [she's not holding her wand either!], and what they thought they were doing as 1981 rolls around is compelling to me.

james and lily's divergent backgrounds is also something i'd like to see explored more in fandom - not, as i've said, in the dull 'james should have married a pureblood' way, but in a way which deals with the fact that their relationship follows wizarding norms. molly weasley can blame the war all she likes, but [although i doubt this was jkr's intention] the evidence of canon is that witches and wizards marry and have children extremely young as a social standard, that couples generally don't live together before marriage, that divorce doesn't seem to be common, and that married women tend not to work. lily - a mother at twenty and, therefore, presumably married at nineteen - is coming of age, then, in a magical world which thinks about gender very differently from the muggle world of the 1970s, and i think that tension is worth exploring.

[similarly, the way in which her marriage is self-protective - lily gains a pureblood name and the social cachet which comes with it at a time when she's in rising danger on account of her birth - is something i think it's worth looking at when considering the pairing.]

there are other flashes of dysfuntion which i adore thinking about in relation to jily - lily's relationship with the other marauders [you can pry the reading that sirius resents her for stealing the love of his life - and i certainly don't mean lupin - away from him from my cold, dead hands]; how much of his misbehaviour at school james conceals from her; the fact that lily becoming more overtly interested in james from her sixth year onward must have a little bit of attempting to make snape jealous mixed into it - and whenever i stumble upon them in fics i say oh ho like horace slughorn and kick my little feet in the air.

i care rather less about 'we're so hot and flawless and not doomed' as a trope.

but i do stan james for beefing with vernon dursley even though lily told him to behave. the man really is just that annoying.

Least favorite thing about her

Unfortunately, that would probably be the other side of the coin. I know it is necessary to have her selfless awareness for others sometimes be blinded by her selfish desires to get herself the fairness she deserves, but it can sometimes lead her to mistrust people and try fucking them over just to escape their chance to fuck her over. She just sometimes cannot rely enough on a world that fucked her over to be kind to it in return... 😔

(I mean, I'm platoniromantic and a multishipper, so I think I'm just gonna use this section to highlight some ships that i prefer, but obviously wouldn't mind if romantic implication was denied. Read into them however you like, idc.)

Wildcard. Aka Contrarian with the Cheated. They're already eachothers counterparts and man, do they sure make it fun. They both like fucking people over to benefit their goals, but once those goals conflict, they're at eachothers necks, whether with a passion or very unseriously. Still, I think them learning to get along will truly make their dynamic shine. Contrarian shows Cheated ways to take hardships with more positivity and light, while Cheated will NOT let any hurtful jab at Contrarian slide, no matter how much Contrarian has made it a habit of letting insults go and laughing it off to "keep the peace".

Bored Games. Aka Cold with Cheated. This one's just mainly due to their dynamic in their respective Wraith route. They both wanted to just get the job done and move on. And the moment anything stands in their way, they're going plotting. And I always see Cheated as one of the voices that would be most entertaining for Cold to interact with. Whether Cheated gets Cold to where he wants to go or not, it is always an adventure with the guy. Full of twists and turns that you wouldn't think a person would ever be unlucky enough to experience. Well, not Cheated. But they do eventually want to just move on and that may be where their bond truly gets close. Once again, they're the plotters. They only have to give eachother a nod or a signal word and they're ready to go. With eachother, they do not need to wait or hesitate or take any ulterior motives into account when deciding. They're just gonna pick a strategy and figure it out from there. It's comfortable, it's easy, it can even feel safe.

Bonus ot3: The Gamer Trio. Contrarian/Cold/Cheated. Cheated and his two best bros sitting on the bed, leaning against eachother or getting entangled in eachother as they have fun for an afternoon, gaming on one of many consoles with games they've saved up for collected together. Do you see my vision???

And lastly, my personal imaginary poly marriage, but also my favorite vessel/voice ship of all time, Cheated/Wraith. Yes, Cheated does encourage us to fuck her over in the game. But if they were to bond outside of the cycle of violence? Damn it, they'd get eachother like no other. Both striving for an escape from this trap they've been put in, a trap that has damaged them beyond who they used to be (Princess and Hero). And they will use all of the spite they can muster to get themselves where they need to be, no matter how many times they get beat down. They're both survivors who will take as much control as it takes to win over any unfair advantages the game will throw at them. And they find comfort in eachothers strengths, yet also in their emotion. They're both eachothers shields and shoulders to cry on. They feel so tired by the weight of the world, but they won't have to carry it alone anymore. They'll have eachothers backs like no other. If there's anything they can rely on, it's their bond.

Random headcanon

She once introduced a swear board to the post-Construct Voices household, because they kept making fun of her for having sailor's tongue. So she found a way to teach them a lesson! Any time someone catches someone else swearing, they put a point on the board under their name. And it turns out it ain't so fun to constantly keep track of whoever swears or get laughed at when you're the foul mouth of the week and Cheated takes full satisfaction in seeing your shame.

In general, Cheated always finds the most creative ways to get back at people for shit she didn't deserve from them and they always come apologizing to her in the end. You mess with Cheated, she messes with you, simple as that.

Just the usual: people in the fandom grab only three traits of them and make that their whole personality:

Every unlucky thing possible always happens to them

Yes, these three are recognizable traits of them, but if this is all you're going with in terms of characterization, of course he's gonna come across as boring or not notable, like I've seen some claim. Play around with these traits, look back on certain routes of theirs for more details of them to note, just PLEASE do more research on Cheated. They have lots of potential to write or make jokes with as a character, but do the work first to get to know them before diving into the 100th "Lol, something went wrong for them and they grumble about it" moment as your next punchline.

God where to begin?

I was mainly talking about Ellen last night. I like. For context, I have this huge ihnmaims doc just *filled* with headcanons, how I would rewrite their backstories and psychodramas and such. Things like that!!! I only have like. Ted filled out coherently at this point, but I've been thinking about the others too. Like Ellen!!!

I really want to write her in a light where she's not. That soft-spoken, sweet, submissive and cowardly person that she's like all across the franchise. Like, she is, but not until AM messed with her, yk???

The Ellen I imagine...

Grew up in a very loving and very supportive family. She definitely doesn't come from money, but she's not really well-off either. She's kind of in Ted's situation in terms of financially, maybe a bit worse.

But!! That doesn't stop her or her family. She was loved. She was taken care of. She was encouraged. And as such, she's a very confident, strong-willed, determined woman when she grows up. She loves to learn, loves to do whatever she can get her hands on; stem, psychology, anthropology, history, computer science, engineering, etc, etc. She just wants to know all she can!!!

And man, with that type of determination + love of learning, it gets her places. She's a high achiever, maybe a bit of a perfectionist and hard on herself, but she's done so many great things in her life, she's admirable!

The only issue is... While family and friends may support her. While she's still achieved so much. It leaves a bitter aftertaste knowing that...

Well, she's still a black woman. Yk?

And that means she has to limit herself. Keep her light dimmed. In order to really... get anywhere she wants. Even if she hates it. Because, society only sees her in that light and nothing more. No matter what she does, her race and gender will still hold her down. If that makes sense?

She's kind. She's caring. She's a good person. She always has been, but wouldn't you also be kind of snarky and passive-aggressive if people diminish the things you do, just because of what you are? Being constantly compared to a white woman, or even a white man, being asked when you'll finally settle and start your "true calling" (marriage and kids), etc?

I like to think she's witty and cunning and just so smart, and seldom few people want to accept it due to their racism and misogyny. And it's awful

And then... The world ends. It blows up. Now you're the only black woman left on Earth alive, surrounded by men, and a sentient AI strips you of all those things that made you *you*. Turns you into someone you don't recognize.

It was AM's doing. Her becoming that soft-spoken, motherly, cowardly woman. That's not who she is. That's AM forcing her to take on a more traditional role; a wife, a mother. An accessory to a man. Because what would be more humiliating than that, to a woman who was so much more?

She's trapped in a box she can't get out of. One with a sliding door, always reminding her of what she could be, but it's too far out of reach. Trying to grab it will risk in your arm getting chopped off, or worse. (Thank you to paige-does-it for this idea specifically <333)

But still

The door can open. And she can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So she has hope. She keeps it, close to her chest, and tries to give others the same. That they can survive this. That things can be better than they are now.

Not necessarily because she believes it, but...

She'd go insane without it.

Round glasses work super well with Azul’s face, he looks like even more of a villain somehow lol So I love making him wear those. And I am such a sucker for horrible people wearing white suits (it’s like a trauma from my Yami no Matsuei days). I am very happy you like this design for Azul!

In-universe though, I think Azul is very careful with what he wears and how he accessorses himself, so every one of his decisions is very intentional.

Partially replied here, as well as gave some more explanation about what actually happened (there isn’t much though because the story is very vague), and I’ll repost that explanation just in case! <3

Here is what I can say for certain: after being separated from Idia for quite a long time, Azul is going to kind of take care of him, as in “it’s okay, you’ve suffered enough” kind of way; but Idia is smart enough to know that this is just Azul trying to make Idia rely on him again, so he could shut the cage door and trap him once and for all. Azul is also very good at victimblaming, manipulating and gaslighting + has will-power that Idia doesn’t always have, so even if Idia knows that Azul’s kindness isn’t genuine (Azul never forgets those who betray him), he is powerless to change anything at this point. He just wants him and Ortho to be safe, and Ortho wants it too. So even though Ortho technically could blast Azul and the Tweels’ asses, Azul is perfectly aware of this risk, so he uses a different approach on Ortho. After all, Ortho is a smart boy + he and Azul have the same goal: they want Idia to be happy, right? It’s easier to do it while working together instead of fighting!

Anyways, Azul scary and powerful, and at this point in the story he has a lot of useful connections including STYX and probably even Idia’s parents. A lot more strings to manipulate the events in a way that would portray him as a forgiving and loving saint, but still ensure that Idia never leaves him again.

And after this position is secured, then he might start punishing Idia. But in a way that is very subtle to everyone around them, but painfully obvious for Idia.

So a TL;DR answer would be: yes, Azul is still mad, but he won’t punish him right away. He’ll act like a sweet and caring husband for a while (Idia won’t buy that bs), and when he gets tired of that act, he’ll start punishing Idia in a sneaky way.

As for what kind of punishment it would be…

I do have some thoughts! But when it comes to these kinds of scenario, it’s a bit difficult to come up with headcanons because I feel like no matter what I come up with, Azul would’ve came up with something more cunning, more sinister, more subtle and more cruel. So take whatever I’m about to write and keep in mind that it could be x3 times worse lol Azul is very bad when he feels rejected.

Azul would control the entire narrative of what has happened between them. He would play his cards in a way that would make everyone believe that Idia left him seemingly out of nowhere, and that this is just Idia causing trouble due to being bad at interacting with people. He will even manage to fool S.T.Y.X. people and their ex-classmates into thinking that yeah, Azul is notoriously pretty sleazy and cunning, but he seems to be genuinely in love with Idia: ever since that accident he’s been all over him, protecting him, taking care of him, even skipping work (!!!) to be with him. “Maybe even Azul has a heart, who would’ve thought”, “I guess it really was Idia’s mess-up…”, “He is such a good husband, Idia needs to appreciate him more”…

At the same time, Azul would defend Idia in front of all these people whenever someone would even hint at Idia hurting Azul’s feelings. He would insist that Idia is completely forgiven, and that it would be incredibly petty to worry about this little thing when he almost lost him. Azul might even say that the Universe has given them a second chance, and that this time Azul will make everything right just so Idia doesn’t feel the need to run from him anymore. What an angel you are, Azul Ashengrotto! Idia would feel like he is losing his mind hearing these conversations. It would be overwhelming and so horribly isolating, he’d feel like he can’t talk to anyone about anything anymore. His social anxiety would actually become way worse.

And yet, Azul would force him to come out more often. Together, of course. He would walk with him (Idia wouldn’t be able to walk properly by himself for a couple of months during his recovery), bring him to events (“You are probably very bored and lonely, let’s visit our friends at [company name], shall we?”). Not only it would make Idia see a huge swarm of people discussing his every move, he would constantly feel eyes on him because Azul would become more clingy in public. He would constantly hold his hand and kiss it, kiss his face and lips, bring him closer while hugging his shoulders, etc. PDA was never Azul’s style, but now it feels like he is showcasing their love to everyone and cementing their status as a hopeful young couple that is together against all odds. This would make all the social pressure on Idia absolutely unbearable. It feels like a walk of shame…

It’s not like the situation at home would be any better, mind you. Azul being sweet with Idia would make him feel even more anxious because it’s one thing to act all nice in front of people to save face, but when they’re all alone, it feels like Azul is preparing something, something big and horrible, and Idia would feel this anticipation so vividly every second around him. Azul would just smile and say that Idia is being paranoid and overly suspicious of him, and that it’s actually very hurtful. Azul would barely hide his smile because he hasn’t done anything yet, and Idia already looks like a caged animal with fear in his eyes. He wants him to marinate in this fear more, even if it breaks his psyche completely.

Azul would start gaslighting Idia into thinking that his health is declining, both mental and physical. He would act very protective and caring, he’ll even manage to make Idia believe that he is genuinely scared for his well-being at some point. The amount of unnecessary potions and drugs he would make Idia consume both sneakily and openly is insane. He might even do that toxic husband thing and pay a therapist to make them tell him everything Idia was talking about to them during the session… if he managed to make Ortho make Idia go to the therapist, that is (no way he’d manage to make Idia go himself).  

He would guilt-trip Idia a lot. Even though Idia doesn’t love him, Azul would still manage to make him feel bad for leaving Azul like this. Even if Idia knows that Azul is playing games with him, he would feel guilty all the time, but this isn’t even the worst thing. What is much worse is that sometimes Azul just sighs and goes “I didn’t want it to bring this up because I know how bad it is for you, but…” and drops the bomb about Idia putting Ortho in danger again. Blaming Idia for harming Ortho (intentionally being vague, knowing that it would reopen old wounds) is another thing that Azul would never usually do, but right now he’s spiteful, angry and genuinely wants to hurt Idia as much as he can. Even if Idia doesn’t care about Azul and wants to run away again, would it really be the best move for Ortho? He barely survived the accident, after all.

Idia isn’t the only person Azul would guilt-trip. He would also guilt-trip Ortho who feels very responsible for everything that’s happened to Idia. He would’ve easily sensed that Azul is lying, but it seems that even a machine could be messed with if the most important person in its life is hurt. Like I mentioned in another reply, Azul would make Ortho feel like they want the same thing and should work together. Of course Ortho would feel like he is betraying Idia in a way, but he would still cooperate because of his guilt + feeling that giving Azul full access to everything that Idia does online would make Idia more safe and happier somehow.

I need some Mia and Bill headcanons in my life just so I can feel ever worse for Mia.

🌺 Mia is a stay at home, borderline stereotypical trad wife who loves baking and looking after her kids, watching soap operas, reading erotic novels, gossip with the other house wives in her neighborhood and occasionally push down lesbian thoughts she has about old classmates from her all-girls catholic school.

🌺 Mia loves, loves, loves arts and crafts to the point where it’s kind of her day job as she spends most of her time doing Etsy when she’s not cooking or cleaning. She even has her own little workshop in the guest room in her and Bill’s house. She makes and sells everything from kitschy necklaces and charm bracelets to funky vases.

🌺 Mia hates horror movies, she’s very skittish and cries easily at even the most basic jump scares and what’s worse is that Bill LOVES horror, especially gore and splatter films and he used to love terrorizing Mia too such as on one Halloween when he dressed up like Art the Clown and bursted into their bedroom while Mia was doing Etsy and chased her around the house with an axe, Isabella thought it was absolutely hilarious.

🌺 She is also a typical “ewww yucky bugs” kind of girl and can’t stand the sight of spiders, which sucks for her because Isabelle loves bugs and spiders (like that one viral photograph of the little girl having a tea party with big hairy tarantulas is literally Isabella). Despite her aversion towards creepy crawlies, she loves butterflies as well as moths because she thinks their beautiful but also because she had a religious experience where her grandmother died and she saw a huge swarm of white butterflies fly over the funeral home and she genuinely believes it was a sign that her grandmother ascended to heaven and was at peace.

🌺 Mia has a passion for musicals, especially broadway ones and she makes sure she never misses one when one comes out close to where she lives. Her favorites are The Sound of Music, Jersey Boys and Wicked. Bill never fails to fall asleep no less than fifteen minutes in whenever Mia drags him to a musical. The only musical Bill actually likes is The Book of Mormon because he thought it was hilarious, Mia didn’t like it because she thought it was offensive.

🌺 Mia LOVES peaches and her favorite treat of all time is peach cobbler which her mother used to make all the time before passing the recipe down to her. This peach cobbler is really good and Bill deems it one of the few good things about being trapped in a marriage with her. She’s also a fairly good cook and baker all around, her cornbread is to die for.

🌺 Mia is a farm girl who grew up in Mississippi but she and her family moved to Louisiana after her father sold the farm for quite the pretty penny and bought a big, luxurious house. Bill previously never had a real relationship with any woman aside from some one night stands and flings that went sour but Mia was the first woman he actually saw more than once, not because he actually loved her but because she had lots of money and he saw her as the jackpot.

🌺 Bill got Mia pregnant at 16 and was forced into taking responsibility and marrying her by Mia’s father, blackmailing him about some pretty rank things he did as an undiagnosed psychopath teenager but Mia is completely oblivious to the arranged, shotgun wedding aspect of their relationship as she genuinely believes Bill wanted to take responsibility and create a life for her when he crafted this big, romantic speech, believing every word (lie) he said.

🌺 Mia is a fucking knock out. She’s a natural DD cup, has a plump yet perky ass, toned core thanks to years of yoga and is just overall very pretty. Bill finds Mia incredibly annoying and overbearing but doesn’t complain about getting to have her all to himself every night but that’s really all he sees Mia as, a good lay and if he isn’t having sex with her, he tries to find any excuse to not be around her.

🌺 Mia typically dislikes coffee and tea unless it’s some kind of iced and/or super sugary variation. She loves iced matcha and pumpkin spice lattes the most because she is a white woman and she can’t help her nature. She’s also a smoothie gal, her favorite kind is peach and mango. 🍑

🌺 Mia laments a little that Isabelle has a tomboy streak and doesn’t find any of her attempts at “girl time” interesting or engaging, she is definitely more of a daddy’s girl as Bill actually encourages her non-feminine interests and she’s more leaning towards asking him for advice or just generally wanting to be around him more which also upsets Mia a tad.

🌺 Mia is a very musically talented as she knows how to tap dance, play the flute and harmonica, and is a decent singer and you better believe she’s one of those people who sings out loud and practically dances while she’s driving. In terms of music taste she’s mostly a bubblegum pop and country rock kind of a girl, she’s really into Christina Aguilera, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffet, The Chicks, Taylor Swift and classic Brittany Spears.

🌺 Mia is a horse girl, horses are her favorite animal by far and her most fond memories was when she would ride her horsies through an open field with the wind in her face. She had a whole stable of horses back in Mississippi and she wouldn’t stop crying when her father had to give most of them away when he sold the family farm and it took her years to finally forgive him. She was able to keep one horse, her prized Appaloosa, Caramel who was practically her best friend her entire life.

Sorry that there isn’t that much Bill content in this but I wanted to focus mostly on Mia since I legit got interested in what kind of person she is/was since you mentioned her and headcanons about her just started coming to me. I also threw in some Isabelle headcanons as a treat though.

Beetlejuice The Musical Headcanons Pt3

To marry, both people must be in full use of their mental faculties.

Beetlejuice, all night he was with Lydia, never resorted to demonic possession, nor physical effort (to which Winona Ryder's Lydia was tied), of course Beetlejuice resorted to threats and extortion, but in the end Lydia could have said "No", (of course if she didn't love the Maitlands)... But in the end, it was her decision.

While he wanted to "convince" her to marry him by extorting money, Beetlejuice never resorted to demonic "possession" that he did use against Delia and the other "living" who came to the Deetz house. In addition to the fact that he did not touch her in any way to force her... Of course, as I said, if she didn't love the Maitlands, she probably would have said "no."

I truly believe that marriage to Beetlejuice (albeit temporary) took away a portion of Lydia's life span. But Beetlejuice did not know this, and probably his mother has that knowledge.

For Beetlejuice the marriage to Lydia was not "real", but perhaps it is very real for the laws of the Netherworld.

I mean, in the musical they didn't need any ceremony and the closest thing we had to that was the song "My Creepy Old Guy"... But it seems stupid to me that reviving a dead demon could be so easy. I personally think it's a lot harder and a stronger commitment than Beetlejuice might have thought at first.

I believe that Lydia's life span was perhaps harmed by giving "life" to something that was never alive in the first place.

Perhaps not even Beetlejuice knows that because he does not have the complete knowledge of that ritual. Perhaps all that knowledge remained in the Netherworld in his mother's possession... Maybe Beetlejuice heard from someone else that this ritual is not "real," because you don't need "priests" or a "formal ceremony".

Probably that ritual does not need it because only the will of both is needed to bring that demon to "life", in addition to knowing the deadly consequences of its practice.

And perhaps nothing more than the living person's consent is needed to voluntarily surrender a part of his or her life.

Beetlejuice was convinced of Lydia's intentions and her "intentions" to marry him, thanks to the help provided by Adam and Barbara.

The help of the Maitlands was indisputably a key piece in convincing Beetlejuice that everyone loved him...

But why??

Why did Beetlejuice fall into such an obvious trap?

Beetlejuice already knew the Maitlands and knew that they wouldn't know how to lie with something like that.

Besides that we can't blame him so much... Beetlejuice knows no other kind of love besides the one he has given himself for millennia.

Probably when he was approached by the Maitlands and Lydia, (the people he wanted the most and a very special person for him) it was that he believed absolutely everything they told him.

Beetlejuice seems to be much more powerful than we are allowed to see.

Oh please, I'm not going to dig too deep into this.... This point is very emphasized in the show.

Beetlejuice is certain to know who and how they're going to die, an ability that I find quite powerful for a "simple" demon.

I think a demon could know if a person's death is approaching, but I don't think they are able to know the date, time, and conditions in which they are actually going to die, since they don't have the ability to alter death.

They must not interfere.

But what is happening here? Beetlejuice has the ability to prevent people from dying??

No

Not really, but I don't think he's really ever tried, as people serve him best when they've just passed away to help him move into the world of the living.

Yandere! Romantic! KNY Uzui Tengen Headcanons

This one with Tengen is honestly a bit rough and was a little hard to write for, but I hope it’s okay. Enjoy my glass angels!

Tengen as a romantic Yandere has the Yandere traits of; Delusional, Lovesick, Obsessive, Possessive, Overprotective, Romantic, Manipulative and Dramatic

If I’m being honest. Tengen would never be a “only you” Yandere since he has Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma, and him treating one new wife differently over his original three is unrealistic to his character so I made a compromise to make it better:

This is a very unique circumstance with the Sound Hashira himself. He is already married, not only married but married to three women. Why would he need a fourth wife? He doesn’t need four, but he wants four as he has eyes for the Ice Hashira, otherwise, you. You’re so bedazzling and jaw-dropping, it would be impossible to not fall for you on the spot

Tengen is a straightforward man with no insecurity and lots of confidence to back it up. He doesn’t fear to straight up tell you how he feels for you and insist you come over to his Estate for “training”

Tengen’s Yandere Traits begin very early, just like for his three wives and work in a pattern that extends to you as well; befriending, tricking, proposal, marriage then everything else and that everything else includes stealing away rights and preventing his love of choice from walking away from their marriage. He keeps his wives trapped under his thumb in hopes they’ll love him back eventually

Tengen is very lovesick over his new love interest, just like Giyuu. You cloud over his head as much as Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma do and he can’t function properly without seeing you everyday. He becomes overwhelmingly emotional if you’re not by his side 24/7 and he would probably go berserk so just keep him under control. He needs to feed his lovesickness

Why are you ignoring him today? You were enjoying your visit yesterday! Did he do something wrong? No, he couldn’t have! He only has been loving you, he’s the most perfect husband! What is the problem?

In a matching style to Shinobu, Tengen is a trickster and manipulates you into visiting his Estate a lot more then one should. Forces you with witty wordplay to befriend his wives and prays that you’ll like the both the friendly faces and luxurious life enough to want to stay permanently. Tengen is a chronic manipulator that plays with your decisions and drags you wherever he wants, it’s not like you can fight back…

Tengen is the least aggressive and murderous Yandere of the Hashira Nonad as he is 1) very confident in his abilities to woo and keep you as his and 2) he values his loves’ happiness and positive view of him severely. Why ruin that by killing when it’s unnecessary? His threats will run away with their tail inbetween their legs just at the sight of him. Tengen can easily get whatever woman he wants but he doesn’t mind getting a bit scary to shoo away those annoying pigeons

His wives, Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma aren’t Yanderes but he is obsessed with them in the same way he is obsessed with you. Due to his extreme care for his wives, Tengen can’t do the lot that the other Yandere Hashira can; the main being kidnapping. Even though, his three spouses are scared of him, they’d be desperate to escape if they caught him kidnapping you. Tengen doesn’t want to lose all three of his wives for one, no matter how obsessed he is

Tengen regularly proposes to you and the phrase “regularly” means EVERY. SINGLE. DAY and each of your rejections just flow past his head. You’re rejecting him because you’re not ready for that type of commitment and that’s okay! He can wait! He knows you like him, you’re just nervous about getting married.

He just can’t see that you’re not interested in him because he frightens you with how needy-pushy he is. Even if his wives are very kind and all, you don’t want to be around Tengen

Though, he won’t keep waiting as overtime, he eventually forces you to accept his proposal through emotion manipulation and subtle bribery. You have no choice, you’re gonna become the fourth Uzui wife against your will in front of Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma in the Sound Estate

Tengen is the most romantic Yandere ever. He gifts you the prettiest roses, the shiniest jewellery, the silkiest kimonos all the time to express his intense affection. He embraces you, gives loving kisses, tends to your injuries as much as he can. He doesn’t think it’s over-the-top or unnecessary as to him, you deserve being spoiled with all the most beautiful luxury

Like how he is with his wives, Tengen is overprotective over you. In all means; during conversation, during battle. You don’t need to talk to anybody but him and his wives, they are your true friends, the only people you should ever rely on. You don’t need to battle demons anymore, Tengen can provide enough money and protection for you, just stay with him!

Tengen is extremely dramatic in his temper fits. He wants your love, your attention, your affection and he throws a massive flashy hissy fit over you giving it to anybody else. He mainly uses guilt and emotion-means to manipulate you into averting your affections to him

“How could you, Dokusha?! Aren’t we the closest?! I can’t believe you’d pick a floozy over me, I’m the best catch! Do you even like me?! You have torn out my heart and stomped on it! I will forever be in pain for this stunt! You’re giving other people the attention they don’t deserve! Look at me! I’m so much better!”

Tengen is hella delusional like goddamn! You aren’t frightened nor disturbed by his obsessive nature, you’re flattered by how much he cares for you! He doesn’t let any insults, begging for freedom or outrages you throw at him process, you’re just moody from that injury you got recently. You could straight-up punch Tengen for trying to hug you and he would happily go back for a second hug, his brain scrambling to explain to him that you don’t mean anything harmful

Tengen is possessive and obsessive over his three wives and his fourth soon-to-be-wife. You have his last name, it means you now belong to him and only him. You don’t need your friends, you don’t need your old family, you just need him and the girls, you’re safe from those vile demons and he’ll confide to all the needs he knows about to make you happy as every Yandere Hashira will do.

He loves decorating your Kimono in the flashiest gemstones as he forcefully cradles you in his big lap and gives you kisses all over as you hold in your disgust. You don’t want this manipulative monster anywhere near you

He lured you into his trap by acting like a confident, playful ally-to-dear friend and then his little choppers snapped. He kept twisting your head until you said yes to his aggressive requests. All he does is hurt you but he won’t recognise it as he is blinded by his unhealthy passion for you

Even though you’re stuck in this garbage situation, just having the caring Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma there makes you feel so much more safer as they will defend you from Tengen as much as they can. Rather you, as a Hashira, be stronger than all three of them, they are fellow manipulated victims of Tengen’s twisted love circle and will help you through it so maybe, this new life won’t be so bad

Really, Yandere Tengen is somewhat the most like usual Tengen, he just spams the manipulation like crazy so he make sure you’ll stay in his Estate then he can love you to drown away everything nasty he did to your head

“See that smile, Lord Tengen! Our lovely Dokusha is thrilled for the wedding!”

FINALLY FINISHED ENOUGH DOODLES TO POST THIS!! Okay! So, I guess this is an AU type deal- It's kind of headcanon but it's definitely not a canon thing so would probably go in AU territory. You know how I was talking about Jax and Ragatha with a sibling dynamic? What ifff. what iffff

So the idea here is- Harriet (Ragatha) and Elliot (Jax) were step-siblings in the real world. Harriet being the responsible, well-meaning, and friendly older sister with her little jerk of a step-brother Elliot. Their relationship is a bit rocky, mostly because Elliot is Not an easy person to connect with. And he is pretty salty about his parents divorce which lead to another marriage trapping him with an annoying older sister.

Their parents aren't very... attentive. Not very active participants in the lives of their kids. And that definitely contributed some things to Elliot's attitude, also influenced by some of their behaviors. Due to their parents lack of presence and awareness, Harriet sort of had to learn how to be a caretaker at a bit of an earlier age. Even before the divorce, she always needed to help out. She's mostly taking care of Elliot and doing all the house chores. She's not getting any rewards or any praise for what she does (not even from Elliot... At least often) but that's fine by her! She doesn't mind helping out! She's used to it. She's good at it. Who else would do it? It's fine she doesn't mind it's ok it's whatever it's fiiiiiine

Sort of taking a page out of my (significantly worse) younger sister, Elliot is an annoying little asshole and a very difficult kid to deal with. He's always conflicting against Harriet. Harriet is trying Her Best.

To try and support themselves and get more money to live off of, Harriet picked up a job at C & A.... It's a simple playtesting position! That shouldn't be too bad.

ANYWAY heegdhfhfgf yeah I'm happier with Jax's design than I am with Ragatha,,,, it's sort of the same feeling I have with my Queenie design? I feel like I could do more. I don't really like the design but I didn't have any other ideas. Happy with Jax tho! I think!

So guess who watched Trolls 3 today~

Ngl, based on the trailers I had really low expectations for this movie, and it was really only after watching some TikToks with the villain song in them that I decided to give it a chance, and I'm so glad I did. 3 is by far my favourite of the entire series. Was not expecting to love Viva, but she was fantastic and I wish we had more screen time with her!

While I'm not entirely sure how I will/would integrate her into the Rough and Fluff AU, I decided to make a design for her anyways, complete with some little headcanons/additions. (Click the image for better quality)

Okay okay, movie discussion first:

-I fucking LOVE the Putt Putt Trolls. Its so satisfying seeing how the trauma from the bergens being more fleshed out, and it makes perfect sense that they are as fearful as they are. I'm actually surprised there wasn't more pushback when Viva stopped them from executing Bridget and Gristle.

-(How did they escape actually? The tunnels collapsed, but were there other tunnels? Or did they have a different way out? How did so many, including the eldest heir to the throne, get left behind? Why did Peppy not get BOTH his daughter's immediately?)

-On the topic of Viva; notice how her ears are lower/sharper than Poppy's? I think that's typically a more masculine trait (not 100% bc we see some male trolls with softer/rounder ears) so uh yeah MTF Viva real suck my entire nards

-Fuck King Peppy. This guy gets worse every movie. He is the Dumbledoor/Sensi Wu of Trolls. Mans cannot just give Poppy relevant information to save his LIFE. I can understand not telling Poppy immediately, the grief of loosing his eldest daughter would understandably make that hard, but its been over 20 years now, and she deserved to know.

-Also, fuck most of Branch's brothers! I'm glad JD went back eventually (when exactly he did isn't clear, but sometime between the night of the escape and the first movie) but if he assumed Branch had died, why not try and contact his other siblings to tell them? Clay I can kinda understand with him not wanting to venture out beyond the mini golf area and leave the trolls he was helping to protect, but the rest of them? Not one of them tried to go back for their baby brother? Not even Floyd? When Trollstice was a thing?? Branch shoulda thrown hands fr.

-Rhonda the armadillo bus thing was hella cute and I want a plushie.

-Velvet and Veneer slayed sooooooo hard. I hope Veneer makes a comeback.

-Either Poppy/Viva get their mom back, or Branch gets one/both of his parents. Dreamworks will pull some bullshit out of their ass and say that uhm actually they escaped like years before the others did and have been, idk, trapped in the shadow realm or something.

-We see Chef/Creek again. Creek redemption ark would go crazy hard IF DONE RIGHT and I want to see that fear of some monster trying to eat all your friends come back again

-Broppy kid reveal at the end of the movie. Unbelievable amounts of Plush Toy Marketing and terrible spin offs ensue.

Au shiz:

-If Viva IS put in, its going to most likely be during the sequel. Peppy is already going to be dragged through the mud, might have him mention something about a lost sibling near the end of the OG fic, and since the Pop trolls will be looking for a new home, maybe they'll run into her

-Branch's brothers will not be making an appearance. They simply dont fit into the narrative. I may do an alternate au with them included but who knows.

-Mildly considering making Tiny Diamond a Greek kid. (Guy x Creek) would make for some interesting angst.

so below are some headcanons for how the rise turtles would handle having a partner who wants to wait to have sex, how they would manage their mating season, and a bonus! one way they would bond with you instead

General: Mad respect. It doesn’t matter how they personally feel about it, they will respect your wishes in this department and do their best to treat you properly. How they do that differs with each turtle though.

Raph:

He’s going to be a little confused at first. Once you explain that it’s not him and there’s no disease or injury involved, though, he is 100% on board. He does get a little anxious about being supportive in the right way. You’ll catch him looking at you nervously when anyone so much as mentions sex-adjacent topics while you’re in the room, trying to gauge your reaction and what he should do.

Raph is… well, a very physical turtle. It’s going to be a bit of a struggle for him to not take things further when he’s ready. But he is also very determined when it comes to you and respecting your wishes. You will have to get used to him leaving a situation every once in a while when he feels the urge. Leo:

He’s going to have a lot of questions. He’s going to have emotions about it too. Hopefully you will talk about it before you have to reject his advances, because that is definitely the worst case scenario. You will have to make sure that he doesn’t feel insecure or rejected. It’s going to be a long conversation. However, once he understands and is secure in his place in your life, he has your back. He’s so smooth about removing you from potentially uncomfortable situations that you barely even notice he’s doing it.

His love language is physical touch, so he always seems to have a hand on you. However, never once does he ever touch you in a way that is suggestive or makes you uncomfortable. When you cuddle together he is a perfect gentleman. If things ever head in a way that might turn hot and heavy, he’ll stop. You may need to give him a moment, but he’ll be okay. Donnie:

Mikey will take some time to observe you and see how you react to potentially sexual undertones to figure out if you need his help or not. He’s very good at changing the subject or pulling you away because he has to show you something right now!

Talking with him doesn’t change the way he touches you at all. He still slings his arms around you at every opportunity and snuggles close on the couch. But when you’re there with him it’s so much easier. The two of you will sit back to shell and lean into each other. Matching breath with you really helps him, and he likes that doing this together makes him feel closer to you. Sometimes he’ll hold your hand while you meditate together.
