Chat was being a pain today. Well, they were always a pain, but it seemed more than usual. After your 3 month hiatus from streaming and social media, the chat was bound to be hectic. Add to the fact that it was a sleep stream. Yeah, it should've been expected that chat would have a field day.

"I get it, guys," you started off as you started setting up media share, "I haven't been active in forever. Y'all are just crazy, and I needed a break." You glanced over at the messages, most of it is just random letters and emotes. Some of it was welcoming you back to streaming, some asking if you're going to have a regular streaming schedule again, and some complaining that media share is not working. "Hold your horses, guys. I'm still setting it up, takes time."

You ended up putting on some elevator music to fill the silence as you continued to set up media share. At one point, someone sent a donation, and apparently, the sound was already connected to the speakers, so it nearly blew your eardrums out.

"Is Puffer joining you?" It said.

"Jesus, fuck, no," you laughed. "Ain't no way I could convince Puffer to join me for a sleep stream. Actually, maybe..." you trailed off, pulling your phone off the charger to text our chat. "Okay, we'll see what he says. In the meantime, feel free to blast him on Twitter or something. Blow up his notifications, so he'll have to join. I think he's streaming now, too, so feel free to leave while I set up media share."

Meanwhile, Puffer was streaming a you laugh, you spin the wheel, and his own chat had convinced him to add "sleep stream" to the list. Just as he spun the wheel, the last time for his stream, his chat starts blowing more so than usual. Instead of paying attention to the wheel, he focuses on what the chat is talking about. Most of them begging the wheel to land on the sleep stream or asking him to join his significant other.

"Did (twitch user) send you? I already told them I'm not joining," he laughed before beginning to dial your number but immediately stopped once he saw what the wheel landed on: sleep stream. "Oh fuck off. Really?" His attention flips to be solely focused on the wheel, making sure it actually landed on the sleep stream. "What if I just go join (twitch user)? Will that make you happy? Will that count?" Seeing the chat fill with yeses and happy emotes, he started setting up for a raid to his significant other with a sigh. "Fine, head over there. I'll be over there in a minute."

In your room, you finally got media share to work, and all of your viewers (plus Puffer's from the raid you didn't know you had) witnessed you get jumpscared by the Buzz Lightyear commercial. "There's gotta be a minimum for that. I can see why Puffer does $50 minimum for it."

"Puffer is coming" A donation read through the speakers, scaring you once again.

"Oh, how did y'all convince him? I'm curious," You asked chat, looking through the messages in hopes of seeing anyone answer my question.

"Unluck of the wheel and opportunity," Puffer answered as he walked into your office in a comfier outfit than what he was streaming in with a pillow and blanked. "The wheel landed on sleep stream, so I'm just going to join you."

The stream was hell, to put it lightly. With Puffer's audience excited for the sleep stream and your chat finally happy to see some content, there were no silence moments the entire night.

"I am never doing a sleep stream again," Puffer groaned as he hid his face in your neck while you checked the chat on your phone.

"On the bright side, it's gonna be over soon," You laughed, setting your phone down as you played with his hair. "Mods just told me that someone just sent in the last video of the night. Should be playing soon."

Looking up at the screen when you hear a song playing, it's Bubblegum Bitch by MARINA. Your eyes grew wide as you registered that it was the video you made over the break, teasing Puffer. The same video that you swore not to post.

"What the fuck is that..." Puffer trailed off, seeing you and him in the video. Then it gets to the chorus, and the video shows you grabbing him by the shirt, pulling him in like you were going to kiss him before pushing him away again. Immediately, he remembers when that happened. "You said you weren't going to post that!"

"I put it in the member's discord," You defended, "It was a challenge they asked me to do anyway, so one of them is a little snitch."

"On that note, we are done. I am done. I am never doing a sleep stream again," He exaggerated as he jumped out of the bed, leaving the room. "And I am never trusting you again!"

"Look at what you guys did," I lectured chat as I moved to end the stream. "Just for that, no stream for the rest of the week. See you guys next week! Think about what you've done. Bye!"

Two days later, Puffer was still salty. You promised not to post that video, yet there it was on the internet. He was going to get back at you, and he knew exactly what he needed to do.

It was a chill day. One where you were cuddling into Puffer’s side as a movie played in the background, and you both scrolled through your phones. You put yours to the side as you got hit with a wave of exhaustion, pulling the blanket that was across your laps up to your shoulders.

This was his chance, he thought. You were nearly asleep, so you would not question his actions. He made sure his headphones were connected before setting up his phone to record your reaction. He gently shook you away during the lead-up of the song, your face filled with confusion, as he moved his hand to rest on the back of your neck to pull you in for a kiss, but he stopped just short. 

“I’ll chew you up and,” He whispered against your lips before pushing you back, “I’ll spit you out.” Your face dropped in shock as you realized what he was doing. “Cause that’s what young love is all about.”

“So pull me closer,” You whispered back, overcoming the shock, as you grabbed his chin to pull him in, “and kiss me hard.”

“I’m gonna pop your bubblegum heart,” You both whispered together while jokingly glaring at each other. 

“I’m gonna post this,” Puffer said after a minute of just staring into your eyes. “I think that’s fair.”

“All is fair in love and war.”

Ok bestie, anon who followed up on Amoore reporting back as requested ha. I should say we are on a similar page, her & Kitley are very tough to get a read on. And a lot of the online chatter agrees its hard to judge and goes back and forth on whether theres something more going on. For those interested, I suggest watching their youtube ch series for a general sense of them interacting. Entertaining and light vids, not overly long. Really just little things between them here & there that add up. And of course a person can review their socials..

Now onto the tea I came across online. Imperfectly summarized the best I can below. (Allow me to stipulate that I have no way of verifying any of this, so please understand Im not at all sharing any of this to be presented as true or false. Take it as simply passing along the posting of others for conversations sake here in a safe space. Comments/feedback/corrections welcome)

Its described as on/off thing, first beginning summer 2020. A VT insider says people are aware that Amoore hasnt been committed, to put it delicately/nicely. Leading most recently to a break of sorts last Dec-mid Jan. (Added pretty sure they are together rn though. And another person did point out if Liz was getting cheated on why would Georgia seem to maintain a good relationship with the Kitley family, which is a fair Q to pose). But notably, a strangely long break in their podcast took place over that period and for the first time in 3 years they didn’t spend XMas together or hang around each other over the holiday and when podcast recording returned they just said “we had Xmas” and didn’t talk about it. It was also pointed out that sometime in winter, Liz had tickets to see an NHL game and went w Cayla King despite her and Georgia talking about how they wanted to go together before. Only sus bc it happened to coincide w the time where Georgia was speculated to have gotten close to Kate Martin. Then suddenly they K & G werent interacting anymore and L & G seem back to being “besties”.

Sidenotes:

Liz’s "2020 love playlist"… apparently someone has screenshots that it used to be titled Georgia. Includes some fav bands/songs of Amoores. And a tune called Australia Street lol. Lots of love songs predictably, but some breakup songs were added to it at one point (the comment seems to insinuate during the time they were going through issues)

They're friends with a married lesbian couple (Youtubers/influencers? The Bellaires) who they once visited alone.

Also, fyi, Kate Martin is apparently recently back w her last ex, whoever that is - per talk re social media activity

I'm ngl, I was never the most invested in V-Tech or the girls on the team, so I don't really follow them. And I was pretty convinced Liz was straight so I just assumed her and Georgia really were just really close besties.

But this checks out with what I've heard/read too, that they were in that "undefined" kinda place, mainly because of Georgia and eventually Liz got tired of it. I definitely didn't know about the Christmas or the NHL stuff but that makes sense. Also from what I heard, they were probably done for good now with Liz going to the draft? But still being together also makes sense. I'm so invested in this now omg.

ISWM Theory: Y/N is a separate character from us

You know, something I've noticed about all of this is how the more that the universe broke, the more personality we see in Y/N (who I'm also 100% sure is the DA)

Like, in A Date With Markiplier, there's barely any instances of Y/N showing any personality, which makes sense considering that nothing is falling apart in ADWM.

In A Heist With Markiplier, things and timelines start to fall apart and we get some instances of Y/N showing bits of personality, but not much.

Mark could've had Y/N go along with heist! Mark's "1, 2, 3,security!" but he didn't, instead, we see Y/N being a lil impatient

Again, Y/N didn't need to do a tumbs up before Ed killed them, this scene would've played the same way without the tumbs up, and yet, they still did a tumbs up

This shot didn't need to be here either, we already know that Y/N's been bit and the vid would've been the same without this shot. Y/N looking at their bite wound after Heist! Mark says that he knows that Y/N wouldn't betray his undying trust means that Y/N feels guilty for lying to him.

Instead of just Mark throwing things at the science lady, it's also Y/N throwing things.

You know, Y/N could've just shook their head in this scene. But no, they decided to be a little shit and flip Yancy off

And finally, In Space With Markiplier, everything is going absolutely wrong in every way: the timeline's collapsing, everyone is dying, Y/N is getting blamed for everything, etc. But, we also get even more instances of Y/N acting like a separate character than us. Heck, these instances happen in almost every ISWM video.

Y/N didn’t need to greet everyone back, but they did, they even finger gunned at some of them along the way

Y/N is like “My champagne :(”

Y/N panicking when the ship is asking for an update while the wormhole opens

Y/N quickly stopping Mark from dying by holding his hand so he wouldn’t fly into space

Y/N not caring about explaining anything to Mark and just throwing the fire extinguisher at him instead of handing it to him.

Y/N thinking that Mark died and paying respects to him.

Y/N preparing Mark for fixing the coolant leak. They didn’t need to do this, but they did, they even gave him a lil lunchbox!

Mark could’ve had Y/N just stand there waiting, but he didn’t do that. Inseatd, we have Y/N thinking Space! Mark is dead once again and writing a whole ass letter to Chica.

Y/N giving a thumbs up to Mark. Again, not needed, but is still here.

Could’ve just had Y/N waiting still, but instead, they pull a pocket watch and look at the time.

Again, not needed, but still included. Y/N getting cold and taking a jacket.

Y/N has tried fixing it from the outside 3 times and not once did this dumbass think of attaching an oxygen tank to their suit and helmet.

After the loop reset in Go Towards The Light, Y/N kills themselves, maybe it’s test and see if the loop is really there, maybe it’s out of anger, either way, they still do it.

Both choices are basically the same and show what Y/N really wanted to do, and that’s to Jump In/CANNON BALL into the wormhole. So yeah, Y/N’s a bit of a dumbass.

Y/N likes to carry a lot of weapons.

Y/N getting worried about Mark and reaching out to him

Y/N reaching out to Wil and acting like a sad puppy when he tells them to go back to the warp core.

THE FUCKING ENTIRITY OF PLAN K! This entire video just shows us how chaotic Y/N can be! A lot of us didn’t know what plan K even was! It could’ve been anything, and yet, it was this. This was Y/N’s idea and choice on how to escape the narrator.

There’s more of these moments, but I don’t exactly have the time on my hands to screenshot all of them, so y’all gonna have to watch ISWM if you wanna see them all.

I believe that the reason that these moments have been happening more often is because the more the universe breaks, the more Actor loses control over everything, including Y/N.

He's spending most of his power on trying to keep his story from falling apart, which is why Y/N has started to act like their own person instead of a blank slate.

kuroo tetsuro has a crippling tiktok addiction and he’s in denial about it but everyone around him knows because all he does in his free time is get on that app

that’s canon i’m not arguing with anyone about this

he’s the kind of guy to fall asleep from scrolling through his fyp and the moment he wakes up he looks for his phone under his pillow to watch more lmaooo

so anyways

you share classes with him and he’s not really the kind of guy to have crushes especially on people he’s not close with

but then one day he’s on his fyp and he stumbles on one of your videos

and he’s just like ?? woah

he recognizes you obvi, he’s not one to talk to people out of his friend group but he’s not completely ignorant to everyone else

My tikok experimentation

So, I am doing a lot of marketing research even if I don’t really like it; I think it’s important to do. I read many articles talking about how tiktok algorithm was favorable to game dev because it shows more easily content they are not following to people.

I tried my hand at it once:

And it took me waaaaaay too much time to do, because I am not used to video editing, not used to tiktok app AND perfectionist. Like, I wanted to make a video that matches the beats of the music, but it’s not a thing at all in tiktok videos. Unless the music is meant to have a shift at a particular point, people usually just slap a music on a video and that’s all. I also wanted to make clean screenshot, but the trend is to just film your computer screen with your phone. My perfectionnist side CAN’T do that.

Finally, Tiktok is all about trends, so you actually have to consume a lot of tiktok vids to know which music and which kind of « memes » are trendy, which seems really time consuming, and I am already sooo busy…

At this point, I decided it was not for me and gave up.

Later, I found yet another video about how tiktok was an incredible marketing tool, naming an account « DarkDeityGame » with a SRPG kind of game with practically no animation but a lot of sprites, so I gave it some more thinking. (Fun fact, I couldn’t find back the account, until I understand they renamed it and now the dev practically only do face cam videos.)

So a month ago, I gave it another shot; I wanted to conduct a brief experiment, so I decided to NOT publish the video on my other social media account so I would really gauge the magical algorithm. I found someone very nice specialising on videos creation (especially tiktok ones) and she was very professional. She took the time to listen to all my thought about the game and community private joke to get ideas of funny vids.

Anyway, confident in this person I commissioned her to create 8 videos for me and do some hashtag research. She created silly vids with trendy music. A friend of mine spending a lot of time on tiktok told me the vibe was here even if it was a little too static because it’s just sprite.

I posted the video, with the hashtags and stuff, and I got… 3 view. Basically, only the people who were following me from the first video liked it, and same goes for every video I posted afterward except one.

The only vid who got more than a couple of views, reach around 100 view, it was a "art process" one; I did following one Arimia’s article.

Being not an artist myself, and having an incredible artist but who doesn’t share many WIP it’s not something I can do often.

Overall this experiment was a complete failure and waste of money. 😅

I hope at least it can help some people not doing the same mistakes, so here I some insight about the whole thing.

Why this experiment might have performed so poorly:

As I said, I didn’t share the videos anywhere else for the purpose of the experiment, so they didn’t get any initial view boost.

It’s possible my account performed worse than excepted because I posted a video and then went afk for a few months before posting again. Some people suggest I might have been shadowban while other says tiktok gives another chance when an account rise from the dead. Some other people also said if you delete an account and recreate one just after you might get shadowban aswell.

Like any social media, there is time it’s better to post your content, problem is you can’t schedule the moment they will be posted* and I don’t want to become a slave of tiktok by putting alarms on my phone to post a video (+I am not in the USA time zone, so sometimes it’s at crazy hour for me.)

*You actually can schedule videos on tiktok :

- By having a « business account » but then you have to use the computer app who is very poor AND you can’t use most of the musics on tiktok. Since the videos were already created with trendy music when I noticed, I couldn’t use it.

- By using other apps to do it for you, but a lot of users say you might get shadowban because your videos are posted by a bot.

To avoid being « shadowban » or considered like a bot, it’s apparently better you take the time to interact with others content before and after you post the video, but I had no time to do that, and there was actually not much videos on things that do interest me.

My two cent about the whole thing, and what you can do if you still want to try it out.

I was still impressed that out of nowhere, I could get 100 views on one of the vid without sharing the videos in anyway. If the algorithm is not as magical I thought, there is definitely something to exploit.

Visual novel just lack of movement to be used for tiktok, I think the best and easiest way is to go toward art creation process.

Humor seems to work a lot in tiktok but for reason A, if you want to make jokes, you probably have to use your voice and show your face like the amazing community manager of Among us for example.

OKKK I am back! Here are my general thoughts of the new vid just a quick analysis. To start off I really love the aesthetic of the game it looks very pretty.

The video showed the ppl who lived across Hyrule, later in the video it showed to interesting Gerudo npcs that probably take a role in the story. Im very happy that Gorons have returned OF COURSE💪💪💪💪 it seems like their designs having brown hair returns. I think I only saw this in Spirit Tracks?

Dekus are back I do love the idea that they live in the Faron region, I thought they would be dwelling in the Korok/Woodland region (assuming that the game takes botw/totk’s map). Maybe we might see the Koroks returning who knows.

Ok I can talk now a bit about gameplay. They show again the Business Scrubs it seems like they sell you smoothies by mixing in ingredients that you collect across Hyrule. I thought it something that is similar to classic potions but with a cooking aspect to it.

Okay, I want to discuss one aspect that’s got me scratching my chin. The teleportation system is back. Actually, I thought of it like AlbW because I assume you have to walk up to those pillars and teleport to other areas.

Botw/Totk's menu returns. I'm not too bothered by that. I think its UI was pretty simple to navigate to. It actually seems a little simpler than the Botw/Totk menu UI. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of options to go by unless this is one portion of the menu.

You get to customize Zelda, and I'm very happy about that cuz I liked her princess outfit. But ngl I rolled my eyes when I saw that Gerudo outfit. Like, right then, I see you never learn your lesson. I gave you too much credit for getting rid of the Gerudo Vai outfit in TotK, but I guess it is back cause Zelda's a girl ig 🙄

You have the option to ride horses, now I do like that this is an option. But I gotta be real I don't feel too crazy about this. I hope its not a TotK situation where riding a horse feels kind of pointless when you got other stuff that can help you travel across Hyrule better than a horse. Though it seems like you can only summon a horse by using a carrot, I wonder if this is an item that you have to actively look to collect, like from enemies, the environment, or buy from shops. The video also showed Zelda riding a white horse, so I am curious about how this whole horse system will work once the game comes out.

The game introduced a new game mechanic that you can use aside from your echo ability. Using Tri to move objects, it reminded me a lot to Magnesis and Ultrahand. I also saw that you can switch from moving an object/monster to the monster or creature moving you. This is what I mentioned with my horse point is that while it's nice that they are giving us options, this ability makes it explore Hyrule much more quickly and efficiently than riding a horse. Tbh tho I'm not too crazy about this ability either.

When taking screenshots on this, especially the one above, my eyes opened wide looking at the top right corner. Like could it be?! Is the classic Zelda UI returning?? I mean it makes sense I don't think Zelda has to jump, nor she uses weapons like swords, shields, and bows to fight. Could it mean that you don't have to endlessly scroll on the menu to select one object and use it and then have to reopen that darn scrolling menu of doom? I hope that's the case; you select one button to be a platformer echo, another a fighting echo, and finally, your Tri ability to move objects. It would just make sense to do that; it is quicker and far more efficient than the scroll menu of doom. However I don't want to have my hopes up sadly.

Anywayz those are my thoughts on what was presented to the game. I know at the very end they show that Zelda can hop in the evil dimensional goop. I can't rlly speculate further then that.

Hello! Where do you look to get your rare INXS videos from that you upload to your channel? I'm asking because I'm trying to find some to purchase and just plain upload as well :)

ebay! actually most of what i've uploaded was from several discs i bought from one seller. their account is gone but once in a while i see a similar looking listing which makes it feel a bit sketchy. and tbh i think selling discs like this is questionable - a transfer of videotape onto dvd and probably made several times (i'm guessing) to sell. the only reason i bought them is because most of the vids they included didn't show up in searches on youtube or vimeo or whatever. basically i bought them for the purpose of uploading them lol also one of the discs was busted and only half of it plays but i can kind of see the rest of it and it kills me. i've posted screenshots of some of it. i die thinking about it, there's good footage but it's fucked up. :( so be aware of that possibility.

and uh i recommend checking to see if you can get whatever they're selling for free before you buy a fanmade dvd or cd. a lot of bootleg concerts are sold too and can be downloaded instead. ask me if you can't find one, if i've got it i'll give it to you. :) i don't remember if i've made a post about where i download that stuff.

i bought a couple cassettes too that i didn't see online anywhere. and if it's a cassette or a vhs tape, it can be transferred to a pc! takes work but i did it myself, don't let that be an excuse!! (you could ship it to me and i'll do it... i'd even pay for shipping)

anyway if you don't use ebay regularly, here's some tips:

use saved searches. i have 'inxs' and 'michael hutchence' saved. sometimes the michael search has things not in the other, though it's not a lot. most sellers put inxs in the description somewhere even if it's a max q cd. anyway, do your search, any filters you want (i don't use any but it means the search can be large and full of shitty t-shirts), then click save this search. you can set mobile alerts if you use the app. when i'm in full obsession mode, i'll check it as soon as i get the alert lol

use the watch feature. this is risky if it's something you 100% want because someone might just buy it out from under you. but if you're willing to risk it, watch it. some sellers will send offers to watchers. meaning a lower price. i bought an item recently that i watched over a period of months, each time it renewed i watched it again, and each time the seller sent an offer. there's an auto offer feature. point is, finally i decided i wanted it and sure enough, upon its renewal and me watching it again, i got the offer and accepted it. of course in that time, someone else could've bought it. but it's worth doing instead of bookmarking the listing like a regular webpage. the app can also notify you if a watched listing is ending soon and stuff like that.

if you ever see the atlantic records inxs wood cubes please send me a message immediately. i've lost two attempts at buying them and i'm obsessed with that and want them so bad it's stupid

also i'll be a bit of a jerk here and say: don't upload stuff with your watermark on it. :) one of the vids i put up on my channel, someone had already put it up but with their watermark. so i purposefully put it up without a watermark because it is not mine nor it is the fan's who uploaded it and stuck an ugly watermark in the corner. i am firmly anti-watermark. it is not mine or yours. if anything, you should put inxs in the corner or the record company or whoever the hell actually owns it. i know uploading stuff takes effort - i paid actual money on the cds/dvds and spent literal hours trying to figure out that broken disc but! it's still not my stuff and watermarks look ugly so i fundamentally disagree with plastering your name on this sort of thing. i am grateful to fans who upload stuff even with watermarks. but i think it's wrong. like ethically and visually.

Social Media Problems

I made it!! Thanks to @obvidalous​, @natsora​ and @rpgwrites​ for making me believe in myself. For real your guys have my hole heart

Since my new computer sucks, and I can’t have new screenshots because MEA is not working on it, I tried to be realistic.

Part 1 here

Reyes was never a social media guy. He was an alliance soldier, most of the pictures he had were some Friday night drinks with a bunch of colleagues on their profiles. His personal page was a desert with two or three landscape pictures and a glass of whiskey. 

That is why he could not care less when Andromeda new social media started. Some Koreans and Japanese got out of cryo, and apparently, they were brought here for helping communication between the colonies. So yeah, let's make a social media. 

And it worked. Reyes saw many Kadara residents with their profiles at hand on their omni-tool. Some people from the Nexus had a device on their hand, a 5.5 inches board with a screen that they took everywhere.

Even the bathroom.

Just like on earth, it was kind of bizarre. But people seemed to like it, so now he had requests to smuggle the devices enough to pay for a month of expenses. Since the information was his job's top priority he made an anonymous account, not that was anything that much useful but better than nothing. 

Scott Ryder was awake, but his sister Sara was still in a coma. People were commenting that we would take Lumina's place as a pathfinder, and calling her a 'cold-hearted woman that should be replaced'.

And that is why he hates social media.

The woman put outposts, killed Kett, found arks, made diplomatic contact with the Angara, saves Nexus ass every day but is "cold-hearted" because she doesn't have a fake smile or an annoying positive attitude.

A few days later, the Tempest was back on Kadara.

Drack and Vetra went to see something no one needed to know, Liam and Jaal went back to complain about the place, Peebee went to the market, and a white hair girl ran towards a group of people, smiling and laughing.

He kept watching the vid until realizing that the girl was Lumina. Even her crew members were in shock at her laugh in the images, or maybe it was the fact that she was speaking japanese so fast that looked like a machine. 

At the bar, they chose to sit in the middle laughing and drinking like never. He knew those people. They were hunters and hackers, all from some part of Asia. Some of the most dangerous at Kadara. 

"You are something else Ryder..." He whispered, going back to work.

His device had a notification. An anon count posted that, 

'The shady Pathfinder has shady friends.’

Looking at Lumina, she didn't seem to care much.

Hours passed, around 3 am, Reyes decided to leave. 

The group was paying for the last round of drinks, Drack was there probably to keep an eye on her, although she seemed fine. The best among all of them. 

"So why did you dyed your hair?" Kian said while cleaning the bar.

"Yeah, why Luuuumi?" The drunk girl with bangs asked, her name was Eunseo from what he had gathered. One of the best Hackers in the initiative. 

Heard she stayed after the munity to spit in Tann's face in front of the screen, and laughed all the way towards the escape pod.

Some members of the Collective worked with her, not just because she was a pretty good hacker, but because the girl needed a job after telling Sloan to ‘suck her wiggly dick.’

Funny group.

"So when the social media was announced, Tann called all the pathfinders and told us to keep a low profile for appearances." Said Lumina while dressing her coat and fixing her hair that looked smooth and shiny. 

Reyes wanted to touch it, maybe pull a bit while looking her in the eyes.

"So you dyed your hair white to tell him to fuck off." The smuggler said while walking away from the bar fixing his hair after a long workday. 

"Oh Reyes, I would never do something like that."

After huggy-huggy moments between friends, he decided to walk her to the tempest, in silence. A comfortable silence. Once close to the ship, he finally asked. 

"You really didn't dye your hair to tell Tann to fuck off, Ryder?" Lumina rolled her eyes and sited on a cradle, the streets were empty, but he knew there were eyes on him and the Pathfinder. 

Her legs were open, the arms were placed above the thighs, hands hanging in the middle. And Lumina knew he was looking at the black shorts a bit tight, her oversized shirt did not cover all this time. The nearly Ivory hair perfectly contouring her slightly chubby face.

That duality of being strangely adorable in a moment then a wolf about to attack in the other was no joke.

"Of course not Reyes." Lumina leaned towards him, normally that would be almost to close for his taste there was an interesting look on her face, kind of provocative. "I told him to fuck off, then dyed my hair."

She blinked, and booth laughed and Reyes wandered... What a girl like her was doing at the Nexus?

“Wait a minute.” She run to the ship, coming back five minutes later with a plastic box, she opened the container.

It was an Omuraisu.

“I hope you like your bento...” Lumina bowed a bit, hiding her face, while warping the box in a black fabric. 

Reyes put two fingers on her chin, their eyes meet. She was using contacts, the eyeballs look bigger than normal. Finally, a weak point in the hard shell.

The Charlatan noticed, she probably never even kissed before, that is why it was so embarrassed to be so close to him that way. Still he leaned on, and game a charlatan smirk.

“Thank you, Lumina. I will make it up to you.”

Reyes never knew a human could be so red, it was cute. The goodbye was quick, he ate the bento box in the next day at Tartarus. Kian made some jokes. But in the end, gave him another advice.

“Good luck finding a chocolate in Kadara to give back the gift properly.”

Reyes smile nearly died, but he saw the empty food box, all the food perfectly organizes, she took some time to make it. He was full for the day, and it was the first decent meal in nearly six months. Imagined Lumina at the tempest kitchen organizing, and smiled again looking at Kian.

“Is worth it.”

Yep, here is the quote for reference: “Decision-making can mean that a party member lives or a party member dies, and it means owning your outcome and reactivity to the choices that you do make.” The way this vid was presented I think this kind of stuff is mostly a more generic nod to like BioWare’s legacy of creating games with tough decisions and the DA franchise’s recurring feature of choice and consequence, as well as a ‘hey guys we’re still focusing on the RPG and character/story-based elements of this game (we know you have concerns about the game and things like the live elements stuff)’. I hope the apparent return to character-focus that’s presented in this vid (the found family angle they were hinting at) is a thing. And on the party members being able to die thing, it takes me back to DAO when you could kill Zevran rather than recruiting him, kill Leliana at the Urn, kill Wynne at the Circle Tower etc. Btw here I don’t mean I want to kill chars at will, I’m just referring to how in these situations character death was the outcome of a series of your choices or a choice. It also makes me think of choices with higher personal stakes and higher potential impacts, like the decision to take your sibling to the Deep Roads in DA2 but not thinking to bring Anders, or what happens in Trespasser with Iron Bull if you opted to let the Chargers die. More of that please. It gives choices weight, characters agency, the world reactivity.

I hope that for Bellara and Davrin, the VAs are reflected in their respective character designs. Representation on these fronts hasn’t been great, so that would be good. Here’s a good post about Bellara. I also hope that Bellara and Davrin have front-and-center (like Cass in DAI) or plot-relevant roles (like Morrigan or Alistair in DAO), or prominence in the marketing cycle (like how Cassandra and Varric were the go-to companions to be shown in tease screenshots, gameplay videos, trailers etc during the DAI runup), and that all such characters are written well and handled respectfully. I think lady Qunari is very likely a companion, and I’m interested in Badass Elf and third-from-the-right, whoever they are, if they’re characters.

Grey Wardens and Warden-things sure were prominent in the video weren’t they? Even the character doing some of the demo fighting was wearing Warden armor. This makes sense given the Warden civil war, the return of the griffons, the mysterious activities of the Wardens in the DAI epilogue and in TN, the looming threat of tainted lyrium spread, and what the Wardens discovered in the Ghilan’nain lab. So many plotthreads hanging. The prominence of the hanging Warden plotthreads gives me hope that Davrin will have an important role. And, I really hope we finally get to see Weisshaupt. I will say though that my preference would be to not be playing a Grey Warden PC again, I like new and fresh scenarios.

The Lovecraftian, horror, unsettling-type vibes were present in TN:

i didnt wanna write this post

when this shit first started i told myself im not gonna say anything about it cause a)i hate drama in any form and b)no one cares about my opinion

but today i got so fed up with everything ive seen on twitter that here we are

im just gonna kind of explain what happened and share my opinion i guess? and feel free to share yours in the comments as long as you respect other people

so everything pretty much started when someone asked lynz about people accusing jimmy urine of sexual assault

(first of all why would they ask lynz?like i know theyre in the same band but still shes not responsible for his actions)

her responese mightve indeed seem strange, like she was defending herself tho nobody attacked her and it overall felt kinda off

then the whole argument started (most of the tweets are deleted now so its kinda hard to find out what exactly happened)

so first thing im gonna adress is how everyone seems to be "cancelling" her for saying you shouldnt believe victims, but what i understood after reading all of her tweets was that she said always believe victims unless you know theyre a manipulative liar and i think theres actually nothing wrong with saying this? please correct me if you think im wrong but i dont really find this problematic (the tweets are at the end of the post!)

i know that the first tweet, the only one that isnt deleted seems really off and she defo couldve answer better and you can critize her for this but i think she thought the person who asked her was reffering to smth jessicka said which kind of explains everything

jessicka has been saying messed up things about lynz for years, so i think we can understand why she reacted in this way

now why dont i believe anything jessicka says?

because she always talks how she has "a proof" that lynz said/did smth but she never actually shows that proof

even now, when lynz mentioned her in one of her tweets she responded yelling about the proof but didnt actually say anything new

one thing ive learned while being in different fandoms and stuff is never believe that someone said/did something unless you have a video of them doing so or they confirmed it on their offcial account on social media

if she really had the proof, why dont just show it to people?

now the second big thing that happened was the whole family thing

people have been talking about her family situation for years (im more of a new fan so i wasnt here back then so please correct me if i make a mistake here or anywhere in the post)

what we knew before is that she cut off her mother and sister - she didnt want to talk to them nor send them money

her sister claimed it was because they arent rich or famous

now this is totally subjective opinion of mine, but i got really bad impression from watching their vid and things they said later on twitter (search for amy greene on twitter, youll find everything there)

now you can believe me or not, but i have experience with this kind of family situations

my opinion on the subject is that when it comes to family problems no ones really innocent but sometimes things get so messed up that you shouldnt really judge people based on that

we basically get two sides of the story, and i believe that both of them probably got some things right, but im gonna stay on lynzs side

i 100% understand cutting off fanily memebrs, even as close as your mother and after watching this video i felt really sorry for lynz (again its just my opinion, but the things they both said about lynz reminded me so much of the situation from my family)

ive seen a lot of people bringing up that they said nice things about gerard, so they must be telling the truth because if they wanted fame theyd go after him instead or smth like this

i disagree with this opinion because its once again a behavior i know

noone said anything about gerard before

the whole thing was only about lynz

so why would they even bring him up?

well imo if their intentions were clear they wouldnt say anything about him at all, because what for?

if they said anything bad about about him all of the fans would attack them, get mad, and maybe not believe the rest of their story, so it was in their interest not to talk shit about him

but why did they say nice things? (ITS JUST MY OPINION PLEASE IM NOT SAYING I KNOW IT) 90% of people who would watch the video are mcr fans. and what is the best way to gain someones trust? be nice to them. say nice things about their idols, interests etc, its a known trick and its really manipulative. again i dont want to accuse them but it just seemed really off to me, and it also makes lynz look even worse, like if theyre trying to say that everyone here is nice and shes the only bad person around (yet again something i know really well)

so in my opinion they only talked about g to have mcr fans take their side and if its true its really manipulative but its just my opinion and i totally understand if you dont agree with me because i have no proof for this

i think this post is coming to an end so i want to say that i believe lynz is a good person

not a saint, not perfect, but not someone we should cancel or hate on

you have a right to dislike her, i understand and respect it, same with everything i said here - i accept that you disagree, you can write me a comment about it, just please dont spread hate

Day 7 (Belated) This time last year I was slowly moving from lurker to participant in fandom. I can’t tell you how much my life has changed since then, from finishing and publishing work in fandom, to finding discord, to finally seeing my work on a rec post. Like if you had asked past me if any of that was going to happen, I would have laughed myself sick.

This journey though wasn’t traveled alone- so here are really a few (like criminally few - because there’s so many people to thank!!) people that altered my life in positive ways.

The muse wranglers:

First, I mean it’s probably not a secret because if you ask me about Last Year’s Wishes, I will talk your ear off about how it was written, but it wouldn’t exist without @ninswhimsy. 2019 was a trashfire for both of us, and the only thing keeping me sane was trading DMs about sad head canons, and then chucking clumps of my never ending story at her. She helped me iron out details, sent me the encouraging crying emojis and held my hand through all of it. Guess what? That experience didn’t scare her away, and I pretty much would have never written “Leave the Fire Burning” if it hadn’t been for her. It also helps that we are twins in how we view the canon- critical but still loving those dumbass characters. 

@tasyfa : As someone who doesn’t read serials, I love that you offered your services just based on knowing I was writing a long, canon compliant story. Of course, once I had you, I wasn’t letting you go! Thank you so much for being endlessly patient with my repeated grammatical errors, polishing the awkward sentences, and giving this needy author just enough head-pats to keep me going. One day I will finish more work for you to make legible. ❤️

I’m curious as to what you think about the friendship between Tifa & Aerith with the remake & if you have any (possibly in-depth) analysis of their friendship? Watching them interact during the remake really made me think about how much Tifa cares for Aerith & vise versa. I love how their friendship progresses over the game. I hope we get to see more of it in future games. I’m all about Cloti but I also love whatever Tifa & Aerith got going on for themselves, just the ladies lol

Before the recap I'm just gonna say the vid I'm taking this from is over 20m of them being friends and they didn't even meet until late in chapter 9 and they weren't even together after chapter 12 and only reunited in chapter 17, so if they can manage to become bffs in such a short amount of time then yall warships can calm your chill too.

Oh and I'm also throwing in some Cloti asides since Cloud is in all of this too and I wanna lol. Maybe next disc we'll get more of the girls without the leading man.

Quick recap for anyone who's forgotten the series of events.

Tifa's gone to get info out of Don Corneo at Wall Market and asked Cloud to go back to Sector 7: “You've seen how much ass I can kick”

Aerith's decided that's a bad idea, so they head in and jump through a series of side quest hoops to get them inside Corneo's place.

After the goons knock them out and take them to the basement, Cloud wakes up and sees Tifa, who asks if he's ok. After his embarrassing moment where he remembers he's wearing a dress in front of his crush, Aerith wakes up.

Eugh, I've mentioned the utterly janky quality on some of my screenshots right? There's a split second after this where Aerith is beaming at Tifa that I'm trying to capture but it’s just not happening.

Okay, so Aerith has literally just woken up and the first thing she does is bounce over to Tifa and introduce herself, all smiles and cheer. Tifa for her part is confused but polite because who is this girl? This is pretty simple from Tifa's pov. She is just confused, but polite. There's no signs of “rawr that's my man over there you can't touch”.

Aerith is like that one kid who's always first to greet new people. She's very much the extrovert, compared to Tifa's introvert.

(Bonus: Grumpy Cloud is grumpy. It's like he expects Tifa to be more responsible when he hears her insane plan lol)

So, after hearing Tifa's story and hearing the obvious concern in her voice, Aerith jumps in to reassure her. You'll notice she's leaning forward with open arms. This is simplistic body language, she's being open and earnest. Tifa has her full attention on Aerith, so she's listening without any signs of dismissing her – even though they've literally just met and she has no idea what Aerith is like or what she might say.

(Bonus: Cloud rolling his eyes. He thinks they're both crazy lol)

Responsible Tifa makes a return here! After Aerith's done enthusiastically throwing all of them to the wolves, Tifa shows concern. She knows Cloud and she can fight, but she's worried Aerith will get hurt because of her. This is a girl she's just met and we've seen how she is with strangers (shinra middle manager), so going along with Aerith's idea with no reservations wouldn't be her. Both girls have semi-relaxed body language. Their poses are mirrored, so there's no one is better than the other here. They're meeting as equals.

(Bonus: Cloud appears to be looking at Tifa's butt in this screen lol)

So, we're out of the basement and dealing with rapists. Fuuuun. FF7 really went there back in the day huh? Tifa and Aerith are on the same page, you'll see. They're both disgusted. Aerith probably more so than Tifa, who I expect is a little more used to dealing with scumbags who don't take no for an answer. Semi mirrored body language – Aerith has her hands protectively in front of her while Tifa's are by her sides so that she can better strike a fighting pose.

(Bonus: Cloud at this moment in time is calling Corneo a depraved bastard lol)

Aerith's little eyebrow raise and knowing look here. Now, she doesn't actually know how much ass Tifa can kick, but it looks like she suspects anyone who knows Cloud has skills. Not to mention he told Aerith that Tifa can handle herself. (Or maybe it's meta!Aerith, who knows?) She's expectant, anyway and Tifa delivers. Not to mention the teasing dialogue the goons mistake for being sexy. But that's what douchebags get.

Vicious Aerith is vicious lol I just wanted to add this one because it's a great expression for her and actually shows a different emotion from her besides her typical mask of cheer. She actually looks convincingly dangerous here, unlike most of the time when she's about as threatening as a cupcake lol

So Aerith kicks the douchebag and Tifa follows up in a seamless display of co-op that showcases her fighting skills. She takes Aerith's lead and goes for it.

Then comes the fight scene. Massive co-op between the girls. Tifa protects Aerith at one point, who uses the opportunity to grab a makeshift weapon.

Tifa is the disciplined fighter using her Zangan martial arts and Aerith...uses a chair lol

I have to admit that's one of my favourite moments with her in the entire game. It also fits with the expression she pulled at the start of the fight – that vicious look showed just how far she'll go when she wants to win.

Both girls, all smiles, complimenting each other for a job well done! What else is there to say about this? Oh, yeah, neither of them needs a lesson in how to high five lol

Remember, they've just met like an hour ago, if that. They're already high fiving and getting along.

Ok, so we've moved on from Corneo's place and now we're in the sewers. Here's where we hit a change in behaviour from Aerith. She's no longer the bouncy puppy jollying everyone along to be cheerful and optimistic. She's now become very serious and grave. She could choose to reassure Tifa that the slums are safe, but instead she urges them to hurry. This is likely another instance of meta!Aerith knowing things before they happen.

Tifa is very in her own space during this section of the game; she's worried about her friends and her home, so there's a sense of urgency in all her dialogue. Worry is clear in her tone and Aerith empathises with that and reinforces the need to get back.

You'll notice in most of these moments between them that we're looking over Tifa's shoulder. That's her perspective we're getting, as opposed to when we get scenes with Cloud when we're standing in a third party location watching both. This is deliberate framing so that we relate to Tifa in this situation. We’re looking at Aerith with some distance, but a human perspective rather than an omniscient one.

(Bonus: Cloud still takes the time to flirt with Tifa by reminding her of their little “sayings” interaction from chapter 3)

About halfway through the sewers and the gang has to cross a manky water way. Cloud goes first, leaving Tifa and Aerith behind. Tifa is still worrying about what Corneo said. Her body language, expression and voice all convey a deep fear of what will happen.

Aerith, though probably meta!Aerith, again doesn't act how she did when they first met, which is to reassure her things will be ok. She's become very serious and quiet, unlike how she was in the beginning. Her face here clearly says she knows they won't stop the plate from falling, but I think she knows if she says anything it would just make things worse. She and Tifa are only just sort of friends at this point, so she probably believes it isn't right to confide in her when she's already worried about so many people.

You'll see again the perspective is Tifa's and she notices that something is wrong with Aerith. Despite having so many other concerns, she notices that Aerith looks down. Her question is that of someone wanting to have all the information about the worst case scenario, but before she can find out anything Cloud tells them to keep moving (nice timing)

And now we're at the crossing bit. Tifa's made her way over and waits with Cloud for Aerith. Tifa's very encouraging at this point, reassuring Aerith that she's almost across. Once the platform topples into the muck, she reaches out a hand and pulls her to safety. This is another example of Tifa being the protector.

(Bonus: Cloud grabs Tifa when she staggers.)

“Then it's a date.”

It's likely that by this point Aerith has realised Tifa is spiralling with worry. She offers words of comfort and says to think of something fun. They agree to go shopping, and Tifa suggests bringing Cloud along to carry their stuff (lol bf role)

What's interesting is their contrasting body language here. When Tifa lowers her guard she puts both hands behind her back, opening herself up. It's a vulnerable position for a fighter to be in.

Aerith does the opposite. She's put her hands in front of herself in a protective gesture. This makes me think that even though she's being genuine with Tifa, she's holding something back from her as well. This is likely another meta!Aerith moment because she's aware of her approaching death and doesn't want to make too deep a bond with any of the group.

(Bonus: flirty little lean forward and “nothing” from Tifa when Cloud asks what they said about him)

“I saved her, she saved me”

I know that's a line from Cloud, but it applies to Tifa and Aerith too. Tifa saved Aerith from the sludge and now Aerith grabs Tifa's hand to pull her to safety from the collapsing walkway.

Aerith knows she can rely on Tifa to help her and now Tifa knows the same.

Now, I've seen a theory floating that whenever Aerith touches someone she shows them a vision of OG canon. I'm taking this moment to point out that even though she grabs Tifa's hand, you can see she never touches her skin. Idk if this theory is right – I've not examined every time she touches someone – but it's an interesting idea.

(Bonus: Cloud pulling his “oh shit, Tifa in trouble I must rescue” face as the walkway caves in)

YAAS TEAMWORK!! They're more in sync than in the Don's place as they automatically work together to save Cloud, who looks annoyed that he didn't make it on his own lol

After that it's further into the sewers until we get to the waterpump minigame (I hated this).

Cloud is about to suggest he goes, but Tifa cuts him off, so she and Aerith head over to do it. Now, I was expecting some kind of chat between them or some kind of war hint, but it was literally just the minigame and nothing else. I guess the absence of something is something too?

And this is probably the only shipwar image in the entire game, so take it in, people.

I don't like it. I didn't like how it made me not like Aerith after everything she and the others have gone through until this point. Her dialogue towards Tifa is meaner than any other time and I feel like this is OG Aerith – the one yall expected. She mentions Cloud is “her” bodyguard – something Tifa wasn't even aware of since it's never been mentioned until this point and Tifa looks hurt by the way Aerith is talking to her. That's not jealousy on her face. She's dismayed this person she thought was a friend is acting not like a friend. The fact Cloud notices this and backs up Tifa's side by saying “Ghosts aren't my thing” is evidence he supports her and won't let anyone hurt her.

This is not a nice image. Hope the OG fans enjoyed it though and I hope it's the only shipwar reference Square makes. Tifa's worried/scared, which has more to do with the ghosts. Cloud is ambivalent; he's being SOLDIER Cloud. Aerith is enjoying the chaos she’s caused.

And the nasty shipwar moment is over and they're back to being friends again. Tifa's fear through this section of the game makes her cling to Aerith when the lights go out. Aerith, for her part, calls Tifa to her, so that she can look after her. It's a nice moment to rebalance their friendship after that earlier bullshit.

Tifa looks worried – although I've said before her default expression is pensive, which makes sense considering her personality.

Aerith doesn't look afraid at all. She looks curious. One of them wants to be there and the other very much doesn't lol

(Bonus: Cloud grabbing Tifa and protecting her is everything)

And we're past the bit with the ghosts stealing Aerith away and Cloud and Tifa rescue her.

Tifa crouches down and comforts Aerith. She's kind and sympathetic and you'll also notice that this is the first time we're seeing Tifa from Aerith's pov. This is what Aerith sees when she looks at Tifa. Someone kind who came to help her. A friend. Tifa smiles and offers her hand, reinforcing their friendship and that she'll be there to support Aerith.

(Bonus: Cloud and Tifa's complementary body language here towards Aerith really highlights how much in sync they are. They both touch the same shoulder and have similar poses. They really look like a couple whose goal is protecting their friend.)

And now in a reversal we have Aerith comforting Tifa. This is hollow comfort, however, since Aerith knows what's about to happen and they can't stop it. This is evidenced by the fact we can’t see Aerith’s eyes. Her expression is concealed. This doesn't stop her from reaching for Tifa because she sympathises with her struggle.

Tifa saves Aerith again, this time from falling pipes. Their friendship is growing, although at times it feels one sided. Tifa is the protector, looking after Aerith, while Aerith is the one who relies on Tifa. It goes towards Tifa's maturity, compared to Aerith's free-spirit. Tifa is the responsible protector, while Aerith doesn't have to be because she's got people who look after her.

This could be another instance of meta!Aerith, since she's very calm when she says this and doesn't try to stop Tifa. She might know that Tifa will be ok if she goes. Her word choice is....odd. It's not really her heart Tifa's following, it's her principles. She can't stand by and let people get hurt when she can do something about it. But the way Aerith says this line is pretty telling. There's actually a big difference when meta!Aerith is on the scene compared to OG Aerith – who is annoying af.

It's the mark of a fast friendship that Aerith can tell this about Tifa, that she needs to go help, but then again, it's also not that hard to figure Tifa out when she's so open. I can't think of a single instance in the game when Tifa isn't straight as an arrow.

So, we've had very few moments when we're looking at Tifa through Aerith's pov. And now we're back looking at Aerith through Tifa's pov. The look on Aerith's face is very serene and reminds me of the one in the bar when she saw the flower. That definitely suggests to me that this is meta!Aerith and that's who has been building friendships this time around and not OG Aerith – who is still annoying af.

I'm further convinced of this when Aerith mentions Marlene and the look on Tifa's face is all “What?” while Aerith's suggests she knows exactly where to find Marlene, what she looks like, how old she is, when her birthday is and what she had for breakfast.

An unspoken communication passes between them. Lots of micro expressions here and some quiet hums and nods. I mean, if we're at telepathy then they're definitely friends.

Despite being reserved, Tifa grabs Aerith's hands in gratitude. For someone who doesn't display physical affection a lot, this is meaningful for Tifa. She trusts Aerith and she's relying on her to save Marlene. She's grateful and doesn't have the words to express it. She just nods, once, and her eyes are damp like she's trying not to cry.

And one last teamwork shot because look, neither of these girls needed lessons how to high ten...Cloud lol

Ok, the last one is the most important – typical.

Tifa's asked Aerith if she's ok a lot over the course of the game – which is a lot a lot when you think how little time they had together. This is the first time Aerith asks after Tifa's wellbeing. It's probably one of the few times anyone asks how Tifa's doing and they don't mean physical condition. Sure, Cloud asks, but we know why. Everyone else assumes Tifa can handle it. Tifa says she can, so it must be true. Even when she's shaking from repressing her urge to cry. Even when she can't sleep at night.

I noticed this my first playthrough because it stood out, and it's meant to stand out. This concern from Aerith to Tifa and Tifa to Aerith is mirrored through their interactions. It's supposed to make you think better of the girl who isn't part of your ship. It's supposed to make you draw a line under OG Aerith and Tifa's jealous rivalry and start thinking of them as friends. Because they are friends.

Conclusion:

The devs tried to end the ship war by making the girls more friendly towards each other in hopes that yall would stop bashing the one you don't like. These girls clearly have little rivalry going on. They're supportive, kind, open and understanding towards each other. Their friendship is one of my favourite things in the game and did actually go a long way to making me like Aerith – did I mention I hate OG Aerith?

Instead of arguing who Cloud loves more, why not try appreciating each girl for the qualities she brings to the overall game and to each other's life? 

Aerith likes Tifa. Tifa likes Aerith.

Practice Sesh #37

Life Update:

Saw the Boku No Hero Academia movie last Thursday which was absolutely bonkers. It was better than the one before and I liked that one too. You gotta watch it if you haven’t yet. It was also nice that we had the Friday off at work, so my weekend was extended. It gave me enough time to execute the project I had been planning for a while.

FL Studio

Over the weekend I spent a couple of days into recording and putting together the Billie Eilish cover/arrangement. It was a pretty rewarding experience learning how to put something together that started out as a thought and performing it. So yeah, that above is a screenshot of the cover. It’s got percussion, piano and violins in there all done live (for the sake of the performance).

Launchpad Setup

The percussion was definitely up there in how challenging it was to do live. But it was rewarding once I got a good take. The setup for it pretty much consisted of some nice colored paper and poster board I got from Michael’s. Then I stacked that on a crate. The tripod then take an aerial view of the launchpad and my hands on it. I zoom in just enough to get the background to be that nice skyblue.

Video Editing

Then was the video editing process which didn’t take too long to do since I wasn’t doing anything fancy. Just lining up the mixed audio with the separate videos. Also, with the advancement of video software, having multiple video frames in one video is easier with free software too. I used Davinci Resolve for this. I had planned the layout for this pretty crudely the weekend prior. I’m glad it turned out looking similar to the final product!

Forgive me for I am no artiste like some you talented folks on this website lol.

But yeah and that pretty much turned into the vid above. I have an idea of what the next project will be and I want to take a few more risks with that one so I don’t get too comfortable not going for the hard stuff. Main goal is to just keep on improving with every one.

I visited the SuperGiant Games’ website for the first time just now (writing this shortly before 3 AM) and was pleasantly surprised to see they offered sheet music for free--most don’t do that, and as someone who plays piano, few things endear me more to someone/something than free, legal sheet music.

(Granted I raised an eyebrow at how they wanted your email and billing address for free items at ‘checkout’ -- free items thus effectively serving as a ‘harmless’ way to harvest such date from the site’s visitors -- but they could’ve just limited their free items to the wallpapers/ringtones rather than actually throw in sheet music so...still appreciated to a certain extent).

The reason I was on the site at all was because I’d looked for their early access games (HADES) on Steam but was puzzled when I couldn’t find it. Seems that one can buy it Early Access for $20 directly via Epic Games which...is a bit of a mood dampener. I was at least somewhat interested before, but I’m not keen on buying it through that company.

It’s not even so much the whole separate account and launcher download thing (I mean, that’s still a pain, but) as it is how I’m not keen on their business practices. Security issues, offline play, no cloud saves, pushing for exclusive rights, their whole regional pricing thing (which can often mean “more expensive”)...

...Well, I’ve heard they might be bothering to implement cloud saves soon, and I think I’ve seen a post or two wherein they refunded players the difference in money caused by regional price variation. Still--that feels an awfully lot like damage control at this point, so I’m reluctant to praise such actions so cavalierly. 

And just look at their stance on User Generated Content in their EULA:

Any content that you create, generate, or make available through the Epic Games store application shall be “UGC”. You hereby grant to Epic a non-exclusive, fully-paid, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, copy, modify, adapt, distribute, prepare derivative works based on, publicly perform, publicly display, make, have made, use, sell, offer to sell, import, and otherwise exploit your UGC for any purposes, for all current and future methods and forms of exploitation in any country. You may not create, generate, or make available any UGC to which you do not have the right to grant Epic such license. In addition, you may not create, generate, or make available any UGC that is illegal or violates or infringes another’s rights, including intellectual property rights or privacy, publicity or moral rights. Epic reserves the right to take down any UGC in its discretion.

Bolding mine. In other words, whatever content you create and/or share through their store app is content you’re agreeing they can exploit for profit (”sell”) or advertise (”publicly display”) or do whatever with the content you’ve generated, forever and always. Notice that they don’t even say anything about credit.

So there’s the obvious content like your screenshots/vids that they could exploit--most likely for advertising--but then there’s things like mods or let’s plays, which this EULA essentially allows them to potentially monetize at any time. This doesn’t sit well with me at all. God knows Steam as a platform isn’t perfect, but this item in the EULA is alone enough to make me leery.

Come to think of it, did I make an Epic Games account before now? I’ll have to check; honestly, I’m tempted to terminate it if I do have one. At the same time...there’s still some interest in Hades on my part, and though the game’s subreddit FAQ says it will “most likely” be on Steam, and that it will release on other platforms beyond Epic Games once it’s out of Early Access... we’vs still got at least a year until such time, and that’s not a fun wait. (Not that the FAQ on the Epic Games’ website even so much as mentions the possibility of other platforms post-release... They would really love to have exclusive rights, huh).

The main thing Epic Games has going for it, in my eyes, is that its content is DRM-free. Now that is a strong selling point. 

On the one hand, I’d probably appreciate being able to play HADES sooner rather than later. On the other, buying any game directly via the Epic Games store feels kinda dirty along with an iimplicit assumption I approve of their business practices as they are now, which I don’t. (And/or that I either didn’t read or didn’t care about the EULA, which I did read and do disapprove of).

Ugh. As for Sugergiant themselves...while I’m not exactly chuffed with them partnering with Epic Games on this, I do ‘get it’ to a point: they probably needed the financial support post-Pyre, or at least would/will receive a financial boost from expected sales. I wonder how much vs the potential profit they could’ve made from Early Access sales on other platforms? Perhaps more--at any rate, the safer, ‘guaranteed’ option of the two. So I do get it, even if as a consumer the situation isn’t favorable for me.

Ugh ugh. Maybe I should just give up for now and actually think about maybe finishing Transistor at some point. Haven’t played that in months. At any rate, it’s now 4:05 AM so I supposed I should schedule this post for morning...
