this week has just. not been a good week (it's only Wednesday)
#i cant see my butch i had to take my grandma to the hospital last night im just so irritated i just want to stay at home but i have#a million things to do. i just spent £100 trying to get my laptop fixed but its impossible because the serial number is missing#and the manufacturer of my laptop doesnt let you see it via BIOS ���� thats £100 i could've saved since i don't#have a job anymore and ive been without my laptop for a week while having to ship stuff off and it's rlly hard#without my computer! i don't want to go outside anymore i want to sit in the house and watch tv all day!!!!!!#like im blocking out the fact that i have to find a new job soon and soon that will bring anxiety and sadness 🙏#it never ends

I've got too many games I want to play and not enough free time 😭 I still need to finish my BG3 playthrough but since Endless Ocean: Luminous came out I've been playing a lot of that instead. Also just got back into Wizard101 last night. Started playing House Flipper again last weekend. Still need to finish BOTW so I can start a TOTK playthrough and finish Pokemon Shield so I can start on Pokemon Violet. I've been fighting off the urge to start up a new Skyrim playthrough for weeks. My brother just told me that Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is getting ported to the Switch. And now I'm suddenly feeling inspired to replay DAI... And throughout all of this I'm also playing the hell out of DragonVale on my phone. Someone just pay me to play video games all day please
#and before anyone suggests it: no i cant try to get into streaming#the way i play video games is extremely frustrating for other people to watch ahdjsksl#no one is going to give me money for producing a video where i spend two hours checking every barrel in the map while juggling my inventory#and then immediately give up on a puzzle and just sit in silence for 30 minutes while i look up a walkthrough instead#i need a situation that pays me $200 a day just to be autistic at the screen alone in the comfort of my own home#rambling#a few years ago i made it a mission to play all of the dragon age games and dlcs in order and i did not complete it#i got all the way to inquisition before i quit#i had already played it on ps3 but i wanted to replay on my new gaming laptop and unfortunately my computer decided it was too complicated#and also i just wanted to play as an elf again and i was resisting that urge bc i played as an elf the first time and wanted something new#so i didnt connect to my character as much#BUT ive learned a lot about optimizing my games from getting bg3 to run on my computer#so i think i could get it to handle dai now. especially if i upgrade to ssd like ive been wanting#and i just saw a dai post on my dash that made me daydream about possible characters and i was struck with inspiration#when i first played through on ps3 i didnt know anything about da lore. it was my first dragon age game#i was just doing whatever i thought seemed coolest#so i basically modeled my inquisitor after my dnd oc and then just picked a vallaslin i thought was pretty#and then when it came time to pick a specialization i was just like 'i mean my hand has rift magic right? seems obvious enough'#but now i know the LORE. and the dalish really interest me. and i want to make an inquisitor thats their own character#i didnt want to replay another elf mage bc i thought it would be too similar#but at the same time i wanted to re-experience dai (and experience trespasser for the first time) now that i knew more about the dalish#(with mods that fix the annoying bits where your character seems to not know about their own religion of course lol...)#i was thinking about that and i just got hit with some inspiration#instead of 'my dnd character but with a cool tattoo and rift magic and they kinda roll with the inquisitor stuff bc idk whats going on'#what if i made a more intentional character with a much different personality and their own backstory#theyre still the first of their clan but i know what that means now so theyre not really into the herald of andraste stuff#theyre a devotee of falon'din with his vallaslin and fittingly choose necromancy specialization (tho theyre annoyed by all the maker talk)#they can look cool and goth and maybe they even make some different choices about the well of sorrows 👀#i could keep rambling but im running out of tags gah#anyways ive got lots of ideas now and i think the playthrough would be unique enough to be worth it

turns out my laptop is broken :(
#angryborzois rambles#im kinda bummed because i really like this one and i really don't want a new one#but my mom says to get a new one#i suggested repair shop but she said buying a new one is way cheaper than that#idk man im attached to this laptop#also theres the fact that i got it in middle school and im attached to everything that happened middle school#this sucks#im gonna miss it#its not really anything major its just the hinge is distorted (its like popping out) and now my whole computer is like weirdly askew#ok well maybe the top part and bottom lid ARE pulling away from each other and the power button is sinking in bc of it but shh#i could still use it...its not like it affects any of the hardware functions...i just have to make sure i don't move my laptop at all#:((#my mom told me to make a backup so im pretty sure shes got her eyes set on a new laptop tho rip#i wonder if the exact same model is on sale maybe#my dad suggested a macbook tho so idek atp#on the bright side ig i could sell the computer parts (or just the whole thing to people who collect that kind of stuff) somewhere....idk

Local libraries getting rid of physical medias such as newspapers, magazines, cds, dvds, and audiobooks is turning experiencing art into a privilege instead of a right but I don't think you guys are ready for that conversation
#the 95 year old lady who takes the city bus from the old folks home three times a week doesn't have spotify or a smartphone or a computer#how is she going to listen to her johnny cash cds#do you know how many kids I attended school with didn't have internet or wifi???#that wasn't even that long ago#they do not have streaming services stop getting rid of dvds and stop not buying new ones#also there are so many people who have a smart phone and the only thing they know how to do is call or text#if they want to keep using audiobooks let them! It's not killing you that they're not using libby#yes libby and hoopla and kanopy are great but the latter two have limited checkouts and the former usually has long waits#its not fair to expect older people and children learn how to use them if they don't want to or can't!#also magazines are basically unreadable online#so many girls will not be able to experience borrowing american girl magazines from the library because the library doesn't have magazines!#also don't even get me started on no newspapers#sorry I don't have the money for a monthly subscription to a newpaper guess I just won't know the news now#this is why everyone is getting fake news from twitter!#"but everyone has spotify and streaming services and audible and wifi and internet and smartphones and ipads and laptops#newsflash! they don't!#getting rid of physical media from libraries is actually very classist and ageist but people don't want to hear that#I love local libraries and think they are an amazing resource in so many ways#and that's why it hurts so much that they would leave such a large portion of their customers high and dry to maybe save a few bucks#rant#tags so long they probably could've been their own post lol

Session 0 of new DND group complete,,,, taking 10 hour nap now goodnight
#the duck quacks#that was very. hm. scuffed.#my computer straight up stopped working 15 min before the session which hm. FUN. good ol risk of losing a fuck ton of data.#then instead i grabbed my laptop and got locked out of my alt KRJFJF (I wanted to share screen to explain stuff. which i need an alt for bc#my laptop has a broken mic and i need my phone to talk)#which led into me spending 15 entire minutes trying to logg into my account only to eventually straight up make a new one#then while explaining stuff the anxiety kicked in so i was talking super fast and i dont think anyone... caught what i wqs saying#also i forgot several important points#but hey im making a better summary of everything to post so KFJFJFK#character creation was alr. and by alr i mean my laptop had no battery left and i lost my charger so i tried to kinda explain how to make#a dndbeyond character sheet through the phone. it was not. bery preactical. but at the description section we chilled out and started just#chatting and goofing ab characters which was nice and led us to playing for longer than we thought#still gotta plan the actual first session tho but its gonna be in like 2 weeks bc several people are going on vacations#but overall decent session. very fucking scuffed but it was nice to chat

guess who spilled its whole fucking mug of coffee over its laptop and itself, has just spent a fucking hour cleaning up, who hasn't even gotten the chance to fucking eat at all today because the spilled coffee also ruined its sandwich, and might need a new laptop? while also not yet having a job? and very possibly having to spend savings it was planning on using for maybe getting a custom wheelchair or helping to pay for top surgery in the next couple of years? :)))

Really feeling that Baldur's Gate 3 FOMO tonight, especially where Astarion is concerned 😩😩
I was literally looking at Gaming PCs online, even though I shouldn't get one right now. Though I didn't even think about places having a Labor Day sale! I think what I'm gonna do, is try to save up as much as I can the next few months, and then take a look on Black Friday, cause the deals might be good enough I could swing one then. I've been wanting to get a desktop computer for a while, since my laptop is over 10 years old and essentially doesn't function anymore, and this has just made that desire that much more acute lol
#personal shit#currently trying to fill the BG3 sized void i feel in my soul right now#and i cant quite figure out how to do that#especially without spending a bunch of money#and here i was thinking about getting Fae Farm or the new Lego bugs set when they come out next week#but if im serious about getting a PC in November#i definitely shouldn't#and should save up instead#i think this is a good idea#also there's a TON of other games i currently have that i cant play because my laptop is such shit!#i just got the cozy game bundle that humble bundle had#which includes witchy life story and lemoncake!!!#but it was for steam so i cant play it#plus i got a ton of stuff on itchio from a couple charity bundles i did#so it would get its use!!!#the other option was to save up for a ps5#which would have been nice for the new spider-man game#but i dont really want a ps5 and i do really want a new computer#plus i think there's a good chance the new spider-man game will get a pc release too#eventually lol#since the first one did!#anyway if anyone has any recommendations for getting a new computer especially one good for gaming im all ears#baldur's gate 3

What tablet are you getting? My first ever display tablet arrived today after a month of obsessive research on which was the best value for money so now I'm nosy 👀👀
a huion kamvas 13, it was the best deal i could get for it since it's the same size as my current tablet, i KNOW i like the brand, and it came with a stand, 8 pen nibs, and a glove (all together around $250 but i got a protection plan too because ill be fucked if i'm not doing that)
i'm very nervous to get it though ngl i do not feel like i should ever own or hold anything that expensive
