Ted Lasso - The first and last shot of each season
#I just thought this was interesting#season 3 will definitely explore a lot of inner challenges that Ted is facing#but where might he end up??#Rebecca started off angry and bitter#she ended very honest and humble#Nate started off driven and invested in the team#he ended in a much meaner place having left the team#now ted is starting off looking very deeply lost and unhappy#i wonder if we'll get a genuine open smile from him in the end#anyway very excited for the season#ted lasso#ted lasso spoilers

So... y'know how Leon and Ashley had to use the machine to get rid of their Plagas? And it needed a person to operate the machine?
I don't remember if it ever got confirmed, but HOW THE HELL DID LUIS REMOVE THE PARASITE FROM HIS BODY? I don't think we know WHEN Luis got infected, but I can only imagine there was no other researcher left besides Luis. So like...does that mean he had to do the surgery manually???? I NEED ANSWERS !!

I looked through 3 encyclopedias we have and 2 only had articles about Edwin Booth with the 3rd having a small one about Edwin and large one about John Wilkes 🤔
#I just thought this was interesting#They’re all from the 70s#I thought the ratio would be flipped but I guess not#Also nothing about Badeau 💔#I went to a hotel over the summer and they had this old old encyclopedia and I wish I knew about Badeau then because I’m sure it would have#something about him in it

So I just finished the new story quest for hsr and a thought occurred to me (spoiler under the cut)
These two are basically the same character.
Both are villains trying to make a perfect reality, both temporarily become divine beings of order (Maruki takes yaldabaoths place during the third semester and Sunday being an emanator), both are taught in a large mechanical form with their real bodies inside the head of the mechs, both genuinely believe they are doing the right thing, and both end up getting convinced by the protagonist that they are wrong after their respective boss fights.

Okay so we've all seen fanart depicting Frankie with differing skin colors, right? Looks cool and makes sense, considering how they got all their parts from different people.
And there was also early concept art like that. It made me wonder why the idea was scrapped.
Now, they were probably just trying to make producing their doll easier, but I like to try and find in-universe reasons for that kind off stuff.
So. Limb transplants are a thing. And there have been cases where they change colour over time until they match the recipient's skin tone. From what I could gather, it most likely has to do with how much melanin a person produces.
Please note that I couldn't find any scientific research on that, just singular case reports. But I thought that could be a neat explanation for why all of Frankie's limbs are a perfect colour match.
#those kinds of transplants aren't done often but I'm amazed that's even possible#though you do have to take medication for the rest of your life so your body doesn't reject them and leave you with dead limbs#and it compromises your immune system#you know; since you're taking suppressants#I just thought this was interesting#monster high#monster high g3#frankie stein#rätposting

zamboni is a brand name, not the name of the machine, like bandaids and Kleenex. zamboni was the last name of the people who invented them. they owned an ice rink and created the zamboni around 1950
at one of the Olympics another "ice resurfacer" company was hired but their machines failed and zamboni brand ones had to be brought in to finish the job. everyone on the news was ofc saying the zambonis broke and zamboni had to step in and try to tell everyone that those weren't actual zambonis, in fact zambonis had to be shipped in to save the day
learned at work yesterday from the stuff you should know podcast

idk why but i don't think i've ever experienced the uncanny valley effect, cause whenever i see images that supposedly trigger it i don't really feel anything, like sure i can tell that it doesn't look right but i don't feel any revulsion or unease and i definitely don't have the visceral reaction i've heard some people get
#uncanny valley#idk why#but it might be the highly probable autism#cause i feel like i've heard that autistic people don't experience it before#but i could be remembering wrong#i just thought this was interesting#and it could be that all of the images i've found don't actually trigger it#but i feel like that unlikely cause i've looked at a lot of them#and i don't feel anything when looking at them

this is craaaazy because i’ve never even gotten close to bass range ever, but now apparently since the last time ive tested i really can reach down pretty low. it’s not super like polished or trained really (none of my voice is, though i was in choir for a few years as a child—not that that in any way helped me develop vocal technique) but im really happy with the progress my voice has made throughout these past 5 years on t
these are the typical vocal ranges for comparison. e2-e4 puts me pretty squarely in the bass section based on this. i can still reach some higher notes but i used to be a pure soprano as a child and teen so ill fuckin take it. thank you testosterone i love you testosterone

my dad is observing a strange phenomenon among his younger soccer players. he keeps mentioning the cleveland guardians, and they keep correcting him back to “indians.” they are like 10-11 years old.
my dad showed them the score on his phone and was like “see it says guardians” and they were like skeptical!
(he said he wanted to say “my people did not come from India!” but didn’t wanna deal with their parents. so he just keeps gently correcting them back)
wtf is up with their parents, man?
#i just thought this was interesting#as an indigenous person it also really sucks to see young children still being taight stereotypes and shit#like… come on#do better parents#linguistics

The Fascinating Difference Between Enneagram 8w7 and 8w9 (from an 8w9 who knows too many 8w7s)
Generally speaking, 8w7s tend to be more open than 8w9s, in the sense that they are less likely to care about the words they say to people, and more likely to be spontaneous or impulsive. 8w9s tend to be quieter, and pursue a level of comfort in adventure that is more associated with freedom than strength.
Both have the same core desire for freedom and the core fear of being controlled, leading to a need to project an image of strength. However, in my experience, these two types define strength differently.
The 8w7s I’ve met typically assert themselves by telling everyone how strong they are and how little they care about what people think of them, and this is so others become intimidated by them and don’t try to control them. They are the typically portrayed 8s, displaying their strength by being purposefully unpredictable, breaking rules just because they can, challenging the norms, both out of distrust of said norms and a desire to make people think they are uncontrollable and not to be messed with. Ironically, they do care what others think of them, but are terrified of that fact, because many of them associate caring with “weakness”.
I always associate 8w9s with a quote from Kaz Brekker: “You’re not weak because you can’t read. You’re weak because you’re afraid of people seeing your weakness.” (May not be the exact wording) 8w9s show more “weaker” emotions than 8w7s. They are willing to express sadness and fear, because they believe recognizing those emotions is the key to true strength. 8w9s pride themselves on their determination, and being able to persevere through a difficult situation or argument without having angry meltdowns. An 8w9 may be rebellious and unpredictable, but they’ll give reasons for being that way, to essentially prove that their way is the right way, without hurting someone else’s feelings. They recognize that they care what other people think, because caring is their version of strength.
In summary, 8w9s are more level headed on the outside, while 8w7s are more headstrong, because 8w9s associate caring with strength, and 8w7s associate not caring with strength

watching the muppet movie (1979) and saw this- looks like a puppeteer's hair? idk it's too dark and brown to be part of fozzie, but also frank oz (who performed fozzie) never had long enough hair for that to be his, and i don't think jim's would stick up like that? any ideas?

in-universe, the Treaty of Bremen is probably the most important thing in TLC. the goal of the earthen nations wasn't to get rid of levana, it was to get levana (or whoever was on the lunar throne) to sign the treaty of bremen. that being said, i genuinely cannot tell you a singular thing about that treaty other than the fact that cinder signed it
#im pretty sure it was a peace treaty??#i just thought this was interesting#like. the treaty was the end goal and its barely mentioned#lunar chronicles#the lunar chronicles#marissa meyer#tlc#tlc cinder

as i've been running the daily al calavicci twitter over the last couple months, i've noticed some dates have popped up several time and thought i'd track the frequency of dates!
notably, the only two dates that were used three times in the show are Al's birthday (June 15) and Sam's birthday (August 8th), with 8 August 1955 actually being used twice - once in the first season and once in the fifth season
i also included leapboot, although there are two episodes so far that don't have an actual date assigned to them, just a year. og show is the magenta and leapboot is the electric blue within the spreadsheet
