𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒂'𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈
thinking about how sena's song is very 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 & 𝒉𝒚𝒑𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒄 to hear; her voice is very ethereal & extremely 𝑎𝑑𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 to listen too. as angelically haunting as it is to hear, it's near 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 to shake.
𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 & 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆, almost always got into the water to join her; where sena either 𝑙𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 them into greater depths herself, or let them drown as they'd attempt to swim out to her.
𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒊𝒇 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, would drive the person(s) mad. their thoughts, dreams and general consciousness are flooded with the song. it does cause 𝑎𝑏𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 in the brain, which 𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑦 leads to the same fate. death by drowning.
𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒍. in some case, she uses her voice to help ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠 & improve their mindset. her voice is very sweet & alluring still, however she can help 𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠 & boost emotions. she can make people very ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 & 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑥𝑒𝑑 around her. 𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡.
𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕 & 𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆, that will have no lingering side effects. the song is based on her 𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 & how she feels around people; but regardless of the person, she can easily influence them into doing whatever she wants.

Elisif headcanons now! (friendly tone ofc <3) Why do you think she would be a good marriage candidate? I'm curious :)
Yesssss!!! Okay - so this boils down to two categories. Personal interest in it, and underrated narrative JUICE. Starting with the former because its easier to begin with. So Elisif is just... she's neat. She's simultaneously one of the most politically important people in skyrim while also being COMPLETELY overshadowed by the men around her (Nobody talks about her, really, they talk of Torygg. The civil war isnt her vs ulfric, its TULLIUS vs ulfric. Her own decisions in court the first time we even see her are seemingly overruled on a dime by her own court, by Falk.). Its like she's this big thing of incredible importance and is constantly hidden away both in narrative and in game. But despite that, if you actually sneak in a bit, ignore all the big figures standing in front of her and propping themselves up on top of her, she has a surprising amount of meat to her.
Most of the Jarls are like... a few word summary at best. Greedy idiot boy, honourable honorman, paranoid bigot, old seer, etc etc etc. You get an initial impression of them and thats kinda it. Ulfric has a lot more, obviously, because he's a major character but it would *SEEM* that Elisif should be on the lower end of content. It takes so much to seek her out in her overshadowed little corner after all, but she has so so so much surprising stuff around her. The necromancer potema plot revolves around her, a whole big dialogue tree that isnt super common to see for a jarl, some touching personal quests that go into detail about how she saw her late husband. Its just all super compelling to me to have a character that, despite being so important, is *soooo* hidden away actually have some meat to her. Plus she's just a nice person!!! ANYWAYS!! PART 2!! The JUICE!!
For starters, I think, there should just be more opportunities for the dragonborn to play the political game if they want. Beyond just choosing a side in a war or ticking off their 'thane of everywhere' list, actually getting in on climbing the ladder and enmeshing oneself with the politics of the land they're in. BUT BUT... same can be said for Ulfric. Absolutely true. I do think he should also be a marriage candidate. BUT...
I think Elisif PARTICULARLY makes sense as a marriage opportunity that isn't one you seek out, but one that is put forward to the player. Specifically with an Imperial victory in the civil war.
The war is won. Alduin MAY or MAY NOT be slain. But either way, no matter what, at this point the dragonborn is a war hero, a champion of the people, and decorated imperial legate. And this would be fucking FRIGHTNING, I think, to the politicians back in Cyrodiil. There's a *history* of war hero dragonborns, popular with the people, turning on their commanders and declaring themselves emperor afterall. Oh boy is there a precedent. Suddenly they're the big figure in a war that was supposed to be Tullius' duty and they might start sweating in their boots a little.
SO... after the war is won... the legion starts... pushing. Just a little. A few letters, a few comments, that the dragonborn should maybe marry Elisif. Become High King by marriage. Lock them in and satisfy the war hero with a political title off in the ass end of the empire before they turn their gaze toward a ruby throne. Don't give them time to think on it. Ooooh look tasty treat right here shhhh dont think yes you did very good dragonborn yes yes be high king.
I think from there it could go one of three ways;
1) Last Dragonborn marries Elisif but with her actually agreeing to the union (after completing her personal quests) and she FINALLY steps out of the shadows. Rather than the expected you using her for power, she uses YOU for power. You allow yourself to be the thing she props herself up on and finally really starts coming into public view. Maybe to the nervousness of the Empire as she's a less eager puppet then they might have thought, now.
2) Last Dragonborn falls right into the trap the empire placed. You didnt do the quests for Elisif, she remains in the shadows, there's a loveless marriage and you get to be satisfied with a big title that hopefully keeps you occupied.
3) Last Dragonborn refuses all of this. Things seem to proceed as they do in canon but... well... maybe you notice a few more non-DB assassins using imperial weapons attacking you on the road then you did before. Curious.
#anyway. Longpost but a fair summary of thoughts#I just think its NEAT#I know if I ever wrote a headcanon last dragonborn fic this is the direction I'd take it#specifically with ending 1#but yea#elisif the fair#tes#the elder scrolls

Considering writing a truly elaborate reverse isekai established relationship older Cleradin comes to Hawkins to meet pre relationship Byler and help El and everyone save the world while also repairing their relationship and getting Mike and Will to smooch while they’re at it.
Lucas’ fantasy counterpart is a prince (this is why he has the horse!) and turns out Erica is a princess and he has to swear Will the Wise and Sir Mike to utmost secrecy that his sister can NEVER find out she is actual royalty in another reality.
Dustin teaches fantasy Will about electricity and they do a magical mourning ritual for Eddie that he would have loved.
Steve invites them to stay at his house but Will the Wise, who is a grown ass man in his twenties, refuses to leave his mommy Joyce so everyone moves in and uses Steve’s house as a base.
Robin has to take fantasy Will aside and explain homophobia to him because he is so incredibly outwardly gay all the time.
Sir Mike and Nancy get along swimmingly because they are both fighters and relentless and he thinks it’s fun to be older than her for once.
There are fantasy to mundane eighties makeovers that upset and arouse Hawkins Mike, fantasy Will is very attached to his terrible wizard hat, fantasy Mike thinks blazers are neat, there are arguments about pants.
El is trying to reach out to fantasy El to repeat the portal accident that got Cleradin to Hawkins in the first place while also trying to help Max and defend against Vecna.
Will is completely flustered at all times by Sir Mike and Jonathan teases him relentlessly.
Sir Mike is an idiot who asks Hopper for an ale and gets his tongue stuck inside the freezer and finally bonds with Mike over the utility of radio communication.
Mike cannot even with Will the Wise who is so curious and outspoken and creative and keeps paying attention to everyone other than him how dare he.
Will the Wise is desperately avoiding picking up Hawkins Mike and squeezing him and ruffling his hair and biting him from cuteness aggression.
Will learns about Cleradin’s romance direct from Will the Wise but Sir Mike never tells Hawkins Mike, but Mike decides it’s worth the risk to follow through on his hunch and goes for it with Will anyway and they have a pre-final-battle first date and it is extremely cute because they deserve nice things.
El gets occasional communiques from her fantasy counterpart who helps her find Max by bringing fantasy Max into the void so El can look for her signature in Hawkins. Fantasy El is a super powerful and deeply weird witch and Hawkins El isn’t sure if she is okay with growing up to be like her and fantasy El is like “of course you won’t! Just by meeting me we’ve changed everything about what you would have been. Everything is changing all the time!” And Hawkins El is like, you are confusing and remind me of my punk sister so I guess that’s okay but please don’t go making any more portals by accident. And fantasy El is like, gosh, you are sooooo serious all the time, fiiiiiinnnneeee. But she makes one little portal a while later after Cleradin gets back home to send their well wishes and ask for Joyce’s meatloaf recipe.
#stranger things#byler#cleradin#WRITE FOR ME PEONS#that’s my fic prompt tag I don’t actually think you are peons#will byers#mike wheeler#el hopper#will I write this? who can say#let me know if you like the idea or have further related ideas

Hey hun<3
Ahh stop thank you for being so kind I can't tnejfjje
Ohmygosh yes!!! I love your brain!! Light beams are so ethereal and so damn pretty. I have watched so many videos of concerts and raves just to see the light shine through the smoke. I really want to see that in person one day!!
Oh no don't cry!!! You're too cute. You deserve every compliment and so many more. You're such a wonderful person and I'm so damn happy to get to talk with you so often<33
I swear it's only moths and like old people lmao
Ah!!! stop it you're making me blush!!!! I don't think I'm that special, I just have a tendency of overthinking things. But thank you<333:)))
Hfjwicjwkxkek ohmygosh stop you'll make me fall in love with you or something!!! You're so sweet thank you so much<3333:))
That's so sweet. Neptune is such an amazing planet and a wonderful choice!! I really like that about you, you always have such amazing options. Okay I know that he's just a chunk of ice and rock but he deserves his status back!!! And right?!? There's so much out there just floating!! it's weird to me that you can never see it in any of the pictures that NASA shows us, idk I've always thought that was strange. And like it being so much junk aside, theres so much of our history within it all! We have come so so far in the last 20 years!!!
Nebulas are so incredibly powerful and I'm in such awe of them. They're so beautiful and scary at the same time!! But no you haven't said too much I swear. I love hearing everything you care about! I enjoy reading things that are important to you<3 oh my gosh the thought of living on a whole other PLANET is such an amazing thing to think about. And although I would really like it to be in my lifetime as well, I kind of hope it isn't. Because that would be so scary!!
Getting super into a book is such a wonderful experience and I love it so much but once the book or series ends I am left with so much sadness. Like I've lost a close friend, y'know? It's sad and happy at the same time. Though I'm not reading anything right now. I've been trying to get into another book or series but I can't find anything that I've been taken by just yet. I've read a series called Clockwork Angel in the past and oh man they are three amazing books!! The ending made me cry so much though:'(
Rihanna is such a strong and wonderful woman!! I have so much respect for how much she has accomplished over the years!! And she's very attractive but that's for another conversation haha:) I think Sleep Token is a mix of Pop and Metal. Two of my faves of theirs is Granite and Alkaline. I really relate to those songs. I think they're really nice. What are some of your favourite songs and artists? Anything you're super into right now?:)
Thank you so much! You don't now just how much that means to me, you're so sweet<33
I'm sorry. That sounds really frustrating. I would say it's neat that they came to see you but if it was just sad then not so much. I'm sorry it wasn't better seeing them:( That's so cool that it snowed though! I love the snow!!! I love the quiet and clarity that comes with it:)
I hope your day has been better today!! Mine hasn't been too bad, it was my day off but my boss called me in to take a part of her shift because she had something that came up with her family. I haven't been sleeping very well, or at all, the last few days. But that's alright. Nothing caffeine can't fix haha
My name is Audrey though online I've started going by Ray/Razz. It's just a little more gender neutral and I really like that. And trust me, I don't think I could ever hate you hun! You're all good<3:)
Hiii :))))
'Hun' - Stop aajskhf- That's so cute! <3
You get it!!! I didn't even think about rave lights! I love those. When I got tired at parties, I'd lay on the chairs and watch all the lights. It's one of my favourite things!! They're so pretty! I think rave lights would look sick in person- especially with all the smoke machines, plus music. I hope you get to experience that one day!
It's not even funny how red my face is! You're truly lovely. But I can't handle blushing every other sentence. You're so sweet, thank you. My day honestly gets so much better after speaking with you. You're just that awesome. I'm really happy I get to speak with you often, too. <33
I reject the implication that you're "not that special." You most definitely are! Please, at this rate I'll end up falling in love with you first hun. <3
That was such a specific compliment about options- I'm actually holding on by a thread- Okay- We should start a petition to bring him back to the planet gang! We're technally part chunky ice and part rock! It's not fair. :( I feel like the images may be photoshopped beforehand. Not in- the earth is flat type of way - Never that, more in an enhanced colour correcting, making it look aesthetic way. Or they crop it out, could have just said that, but no I went the long way around. Again, your beautiful brain! I didn't think of the historical value of the machines we've built, but you're completely right! Years of building and history lost in a vast sea of nothing!
At this point, half my paragraphs are going to be about your comments towards me and my lack of functioning after reading them. But I do love how reassuring you are, it's really sweet of you. :) <3 Nebulas are quite literally fucking horrifying, and that's why I love them so much. :) To look at something like that and understand what's happening. Truly the stuff to create an existential crisis. Same with living on another planet. If you were truly there- societal breakdown. You have to carry everything over for it to be the same, morals, behaviours, beliefs. Kind of weird how much you'd have to take morally and functionally. That's if it's liveable. Just visiting. You gots to take respect and love. I have reached the point where I don't know what I'm saying.
I feel the same way about my tv shows! It's like mourning a friendship rather than a tv show or book. Bittersweet... I hope you find a series that you enjoy and get to flutter through and become apart of. I haven't heard of that series. What's it about? What's your favourite things about it? Which were your favourite characters?? - I'm sorry the ending made you cry. :( I bet it's a beautiful story to look back on? I always find if something coming to an end makes me cry, then it was worth it all and more.
She is extremely attractive, and we should definitely have that conversation because it's always relevant! My god, I love her. She's so cool as well, like how are you gonna be that attractive, that talented, with all that swag and on top of that! Perform whilst pregnant at the half-time show- What I'm saying is that women is a goddess and there should be a statue in every town of her. - I will put those on my Spotify and give them a listen tomorrow whilst I get my tattoo done. :) I have so many different top songs. Of all time, I'd say No Eyes by Claptone and JAW would be the one that is completely engraved in me. It's an extremely simple song, but it means a lot to me based on why and when I found it. I have many others, though. Artist hmm- Obviously, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, The 1975, The neighbourhood, the prodigy, etc. The list goes on and on. I can never sum myself up when speaking on music. But currently, I'm listening to a lot of soundtracks and 'dark academia' music. My mind's been loud, so- no lyrics currently.
It's just weird- I feel like every time I talk to them, they don't listen. Or the judge me. That was all. Maybe it was because I didn't eat until they left. I guess we'll never knowwww. But thank you. You're so nice. Again your mind. I love snow. That dampness in sound when it heavy falls, and the small specks of shine in an untouched layer. It's like a gentle blanket over the world. It's so calming. The Shinning is one of my favourite horrors, and those shots of just the snow and no music-phenomenal.
It's actually night now, I just stayed up to respond lmao. Kind sucky you got called in on your off day. Especially since you haven't been doing great. (I hope her family is alright, and that everything was ok.) I'm sorry you haven't been sleeping, I get how frustrating that can become. Have you tried any remedies?
Oh, thank god! I was worried for a minute. -That's what I did with Rj! My full name is Renée, but online it's Rj. Either's fine by me. Thank you for letting me know by the way :) - Again with the hun asfgsk <33:))
(I wrote this whilst tired. I'm sorry if there's any confusion at any point. I'm just as confused)

thread wishlist:
some of these might be repeats/threads ive already done but i cant remember :') i just wanted to get some thoughts down since i feel like it can be helpful to have preestablished ideas!!
amaryllis revealing that she cant heal anymore - ive probably touched on this in a thread but its been so long that i want to have this on the list anyways. a dead giveaway to this would be the fact that she utilizes first aid instead, despite in the past having nine times out of ten used her powers instead due to the convenience and success rate. this is something incredibly shameful to her, and its something she's kept bottled up inside since she's woken up to the modern era. the weight of it is absolutely killing her, but she doesn't know what to do about it/who to confide in. this would probably be the most emotional by far and its not even close.
amaryllis showing her new arms - she hides them with gloves at all times to avoid unnecessary stares/looks in public. a woman with pale blue arms (that which resembles xerneas' antlers no less) is quite the unusual sight. she lacks a lot of confidence in herself both due to this and from the lack of her healing abilities. this could also lead into her divulging just what exactly happened to her, and where she was for all those thousands of years.
someone from modern times recognizing amarllyis/knowing who she is - through historical texts from kalos' warring era, amaryllis is named in full and is referenced a few times. history buffs that hear her name or know of the legends surrounding her via these texts would be in for a shock to learn she exists in these modern times, despite the legends stating she had gone missing (and presumably was dead). she can give firsthand accounts of certain things, and fill in missing blanks of said texts and legends.
more threads set 3000 years in the past - this is a more difficult one and is probably reserved for ancient muses that were alive back then.... but i know there's some of yall roaming around still, so come HERE. its a super fun era to explore and flesh out further, especially given amaryllis was such a different person before. she had much more confidence in herself, but also was inundated with the horrors and reality of war.
amaryllis traveling outside of kalos - she should probably get a bit more acclimated with all of the changes that occurred IN kalos itself before she sets off for other places, but that's okay! in my obsession with throwing all of my muses into area zero for whatever reason (i just think its neat i guess), her winding up there somehow would be SO COOL. i dont know how it would happen really given the high security entrances, but i know it would be a place of utter awe for her. the overall feeling/vibe of the place would be incredibly ethereal to her, and she wouldn't be able to get over how stunningly beautiful it is. also, i need her to have a paradox mon of Some Sort. it would follow her because it likes her :) another place of interest would be galar's glimwood tangle, for obvious reasons. being part fae herself, she would feel so at home and at ease there. it would remind her of xerneas' domain, in a way.
amaryllis regaining her healing powers - this is something that i want to do a bit later down the line (after getting some of the above items taken care of) but her regaining her powers/being able to heal again would be a really fun thread. im still not sure what would cause her powers to manifest again (a moment of peril or something similar?), but they would absolutely be far stronger than they were 3000 years ago thanks to xerneas' aura inundating her own.
amaryllis revealing her fae heritage - there's some strange things about amaryllis, such as some strands of her hair shining iridescently in both the sunlight and moonlight, the fact that iron hurts her, and other qualities that aren't quite human in a sense. this is why fairy pokemon absolutely adore her, beyond the fact that xerneas' aura is now present in her own. it's always been that way, ever since she was a child. fairy pokemon were often seen around the dubosque home in general thanks to her family's fae blood.
#✧・゚: 𝒐𝒉 𝒎𝒊𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒌𝒚‚ 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆? / wishlist.#✧・゚: 𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 / ooc.#long post#another wishlist item not mentioned: for her to be happy and smile genuinely for once because her smiles are so fake these days 🥹#she just feels so lost and she doesnt feel like she knows who she is anymore and everything is so different#im shocked she hasnt just snapped at this point. but she is so good at faking her emotions. the war taught her that!

my thoughts on fear street 1666 now that i finished scrubbing all the toilets, got to go home and watch it
holy shit. that movie. wow.
it wasn’t as fun as the other two. didn’t employ the same campy tropes. didn’t present itself in a flourish of period typical style. while i enjoyed the first two films paying homage to classic horror tropes and making the most of the stylish side of their respective environments, i am v grateful and relieved that 1666 *wasn’t* as fun as the other two and actually presented the horror of puritan fanaticism and witch accusations more srsly. imo it portrayed that grave, twisting dread that the subject matter calls for. i appreciate that bc i think i would’ve been uncomfortable if they attempted to do smth more campy with the time period given what we already knew abt the circumstances of sarah’s death even before the film.
more of me blathering on and on abt fear street 1666 under the cut:
the twist actually worked on me this time. they actually got me on this one, u guys. i rly watched this franchise believing sarah fier was possessing ppl and wreaking her vengeance on the town, but this whole time it was the fuckin’ goodes. nick, i never liked u, i think ur more interesting than i did before before when u were a generic as generic gets asshole, so now ur somewhat more interesting but even bigger of an asshole than i gave u credit for. ur literally the worst asshole of assholes, ur a walking infected hemorrhoidal rectum of a human being.
don’t get me wrong, i always thought sarah was going to be portrayed sympathetically. i never doubted that. my theory was that sarah was going to be a sympathetic villain. i thought 1666 would’ve revealed why she cursed shadyside. i figured she would’ve cursed her townsfolk for turning their backs on her, maybe, or hurting/killing hannah, or using her for her witchcraft and then getting angry if it backfired on them, or smth like that. i thought we were going to watch a story abt sarah’s descent into darkness and while she’d defo be a tragic villain, she rly would be the person behind the possessions...but it wasn’t even her. she and hannah were just vulnerable to the town’s suspicion and persecution bc they were queer women who didn’t behave the way society wanted them to behave. and they were blamed for evil actually wrought by heterosexual men in power, and when sarah realized there was no way out of it, she took the blame upon herself so hannah was spared and she cursed only the goode family??
THAT IS SO MUCH BETTER. FUCK. THAT IS SUCH A BETTER STORY. kudos to this trilogy for being more intelligent than it ever had to be, when it could’ve just skated on the notoriety of the fear street series, the style, and billing notable cast members.
so yeh, i defo 100% appreciated the goode men from wealthy sunnyvale being revealed as the true villains. i actually got my wish of nick getting killed in the face. i love that sarah possessed deena to do it herself!!! and deena!! oh man, i love deena so much. she was wearing a homebrew vest to protect herself made of fear street novels + duct tape, u gotta love it. ig she wanted to prepare herself since sam stabbed her at the end of 1994. on that note, she’s v active in this film for someone who has a fresh abdominal stab wound and i mean, the situation defo calls for it, but i hope she remembered to properly dress it and take a couple ibuprofen or smth. shit, i’m gettin distracted again. okay!!
i loved errything that went down in the mall. i adore that josh and adult ziggy got more time to shine. i was so! so! happy at martin’s inclusion on the action. he deserved that after the way nick treated him in 1994. our occupations are also p similar so i defo relate to martin on that front. i loved it all the neon and blacklight stuff at the mall. that part was v stylish, that was p cool. spraying the killers with the blood so they kill each other!! yes! that was perfect!! it was incredibly practical and enjoyable for me, as a gore fan, to watch.
i liked the sticky note on the wall at the end from deena and josh’s dad, that he had a job interview. i wonder if this is bc the curse of shadyside has been lifted with the end of the goodes??
yk, i feel like now knowing what we know abt the actual evil, i gotta wonder how much re-watch value there is to be gleaned from this trilogy. for example, in 1978, nick liked ziggy and didn’t want her to die. he performed cpr on her even tho she’d been stabbed a fuck ton of times and tbvh, the chances of success of resuscitation depending on what exactly it is was ziggy succumbed to seem v slim. at first i attributed this to a suspension of disbelief bc this is fiction (and to be fair crazy do happen sometimes irl, ykw, sometimes reality can surprise u) BUT now i’m sittin here like...was the cpr successful bc nick’s deal with the devil gave him the power to do that?? did his bargaining of others’ souls and offering them up for possession grant him the ability to have some control in that situation somehow? at least more than a normal human being should?? idk. it’s a thought.
what else, what else?
i feel like outta the three, 1666 had the most tension overall. i was p gosh darn emo abt the relationships. deena and sam’s relationship i’ve cared abt since the beginning but the contrast of them getting the opportunity to have it and be together, in parallel to the way sarah and hannah’s ended just moves u. or, it moved me at least. sarah tells hannah they’ll go somewhere and kiss in broad daylight before kissing her in almost total darkness, and then the film ends on deena and sam kissing in the sun. i was also glad deena and josh’s sibling relationship got touched on a lil bit more. thought it was cute that she tried to cook for him and produced smth that just dead ass looks inedible. i also thought it was sweet that ziggy reunited with nurse lane. she can do that now, she can leave her house without fearing the return of the curse, and she deserves it. <3
i’m impressed with the trilogy overall. each movie easily could’ve been an r-rated goosebumps episode and imo all were certainly better than that. i feel like each film was better than the previous, but personally enjoyed each one. some things were p predictable but i think much of that is intentional. 1994 and 1978 were clearly paying homage to classic slashers and familiar horror tropes. i personally didn’t find the predictability off-putting bc i recognized what they were trying to do, and felt the quality in the other elements made up for it. i was genuinely shocked by the actual villain reveal, i personally didn’t predict that. again, i always thought sarah was going to be sympathetic and i never liked nick at all, but i didn’t suspect sarah was just. dead ass *not* going to be a villain or that he was going to be the big bad.
really dug the style of these films. loved that we got an interracial lesbian couple who made it thru the trilogy without either the predatory lesbian trope or the byg trope happening. i liked most of the characters we got to know and the only character who *rly* grated on my nerves was the villain who got stabbed in the eye.
gosh, i want more fear street movies!! if i had to pick one outta any of the slashers featured, i’d want to see ruby lane’s story. i would like to see this production team milking the most outta the environment in the 50s, the style of the 50s, music, and whatnot. i enjoyed nurse lane even tho she was super bad at murder, so it’d be cool to see her again and who she was before her daughter got possessed and killed 7 ppl. also, ruby sings when she kills??
that’s weird and creepy and neat. totally down for it.
#fear street spoilers#fear street 1666#fear street#sarah fier#deena johnson#nick goode#sam fraser#josh johnson#ziggy berman#ruby lane#nurse lane#martin p franklin#gosh u guys#i rly dug this movie#i rly dug the trilogy as a whole#i was hype to begin with but it exceeded by expectations#i want more

Thoughts on the Multiverse of Madness
As promised, I’m going to give a little review about Multiverse of Madness! Or, rather, a breakdown of what I thought was good, and wasn’t so good.
The Good
The fact that the plot was built around love and relationships was AWESOME. Not many comic book movies have seen that.
The acting.
Okay, Benedict is amazing. We knew that was always the case. But to do what he did, playing four different versions of Stephen that you’re able to tell apart? Talk about talented. His facial expressions and tone inflections were incredible. His voice for Sinister Strange was really neat. There was something about the pitch that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s kind of cool and fidgety; a little creepy, which I think is what it’s supposed to be like. And he gave quite the menacing expression. Gosh, I could do a whole subcategory on facial expressions. Like, the way he looked so torn while looking at the memory. And then his steadfastness when he professed his love.
Elizabeth Olsen. Ladies and gentlemen, this woman is a superstar. Seriously. She got to really exercise her acting skills in this movie. She was demure and sweet, but was able to turn cruel and calculating on a dime. Her expressions when she was playing full-on Scarlet Witch...whooo, boy. Micro-acting for days. I hope she does more of these kinds of serious roles.
Rachel McAdams was excellent, though I wish there was a bit more of a variation between the two Christines. I think the issue was that there were only a few minutes of screentime for 616!Christine. I’ve never been able to get a good read on her. She seems to be a little aloof. 838!Christine is more businesslike, no-nonsense...most likely because she was hurt by Supreme Strange’s actions. Rachel’s subtleness 838!Christine’s transition from untrusting our Stephen to slowly warming up to him and caring about his well-being was seamless and believable. The fierceness in her voice as Christine was urging Stephen to fight was just SO powerful. It was one of my favorite acting scenes in the movie. Then, as I mentioned in my meta, her facial features as Stephen declares his love for Christine were the best. She goes from shocked to flattered to something bittersweet. Amazing scene all around.
The music battle was pretty sweet. It was super creative. I appreciated it as a music minor. I wonder what made Sam Raimi want to do it. Perhaps it was a nod to Stephen’s love of music in the first film. I will say, though, it was a bit long-winded.
Speaking of music, major points to the editor for matching up the end credit titles of Rachel with softer notes.
Stephen purposefully antagonizing Mordo was absolutely hilarious. That whole scene was.
All things Wong! Especially when trying to instruct Stephen on how to act when Wanda comes to Kamar-Taj.
Zombie!Defender scene. Though kind of freaky, it was really cool to see Stephen flex his sorcery skills. And that speech to America...
The not-so-good
It was a little too short. I didn’t feel as if enough things were developed. The first movie had about the same time limit, but it was plenty, since it was an introductory movie. This one had a lot going on, but was really fast paced. I think it could have handled at least another 15 minutes. More could have been added with the wedding, I feel.
The soundtrack was a bit lacking; not as memorable as Michael Giacchino’s awesomeness.
The trip through the multiverses was way too long. I felt a little like Stephen (well, not really).
I’d like a bit more explanation on the titles of Defender and Supreme Strange.
The Illuminati massacre. That was, uh, something. I’m not one who goes for gore, specifically with what happened to Captain Carter and Blackbolt.
The third eye, with both Stranges. I know it’s a thing in the comics, but it gave me the heebie-jeebies, especially at the end when Stephen gets it.
Whatever that was with Clea. Why did she come to 616? Last time I checked, Sinister Strange’s universe was the one with the incursion. I know he was offed by Stephen, so maybe she thinks he can help explain...? I don’t know, but it didn’t seem cohesive, even for a post-credit scene.
Overall, it was a mostly fun film. It’s not as good or solid as Doctor Strange, but it was still enjoyable. I know there have been some people who complained that it wasn’t multiverse-y enough. I think there was the right amount. My brother actually was concerned before the movie that it would be too much. He is of the opinion that, after No Way Home, Marvel was going to jump right into the Multiverse way too fast. I don’t think that’s the case yet. I’m actually kind of looking forward to Love and Thunder.

My thoughts on the Netflix winx (am I late to the complain train?) part 4b and actual final post!…
Continued from here
Maybe the zombies are getting in because Silva’s keeping the barrier open because Sky is lost somewhere drugged in the woods and no one can find him (no idea why Bloom would drug him tho, maybe so he wouldn’t follow her when she went with Beatrix to the village, no idea why Silva wouldn’t be able to find him, maybe the war room was in the forest and that’s where sky is idk idk). Maybe we damsel Sky and the winx verge away from the school to save him idk. I just want all six girls fighting together and having different fighting styles (that they learnt and developed over the series), and they work together I think it would be neat. Also I can get that they won’t have transformations but I think we can do more than just eye colour changes. Like any jewellery on Stella starts to glow, flowers bloom from Flora’s hair, flecks of ember appear on Blooms skin, lines of sheet music swirl around Musa’s face, the ends of Aisha’s arms become glassy and made of water and Tecna’s entire person gets these cyber-esqe grid lines lighting up on her skin. Not a full transformation just like, a visual appeal. Also I think it’s fine if bloom is the only to get wings since it’s a new concept as long as they don’t do that awful transformation scene. I just need bloom to kill a zombie so hard she grows wings okay that’s all that needs to happen. Basically the other girls will get wings in s2 which would involve Bloom sharing her powers (although it would be cool if it didn’t immediately translate into wings and they have to overcome some challenge before they can properly use the magic boost). I think in the actual show, the other girls are definitely gonna get wings (I mean it’s in the intro) but that’s how I’d do it.
Also the girls need to dress good. You don’t need me to give u ideas on how to dress the girls just YouTube fate and every video will be about restyling the winx
3) The show is exactly the same as the original it’s just live action
Yeah, no more dark gothic houses. Just campy fun vibes, sunlight, and focus on out there fashion. The show barely takes itself seriously because it’s here to have a good time. Alternatively, it starts out light and the cast remains relatively sassy and fun throughout BUT at the end of episode 1 things get super freaking dark.
Imagine ep 1, Bloom’s shy, everyone is really friendly, they go to a fairy cafe, they get bullied by a relatively harmless trix, the girls go through problems like fitting at school, working out what to wear at the party, and at the end Bloom wants to go home because shenanigans. Only to find… that since she left, earth has been invaded by fire zombies. The series see these teens who continue to try and live a normal ish teen life in the midst of a fantasy apocalypse that’s slowing consuming their universe. Like Bloom and the others sneak to earth to try and save as many people as possible, then go back to their dorm and play truth or dare til 3 am. Sorry lessons have been disrupted because your teacher is currently on another planet fighting evil wizards. Idk I think it could be really fun and crazy. Like the kind of whiplash I got when watch centaurworld (an animated show on Netflix, it’s incredibly good and has banging musicians numbers).
So yeah I think that’s all my thoughts on Fate. It had a lot of potential that I think would be fun to make overglorified fanfiction, however for what actually happens in the show, a lot of that potential is wasted. But it’s fun to think about what could’ve been :). I’m gonna be posting winx (cartoon) redesigns at some point and I have my own personal rewrite ideas for the original cartoon, because I think it’s fun, and I might share them
Part 1 - Social Issues
Part 2 - Writing
Part 3 - Designs
Part 4a - rewrite ideas

TMBS Book 1 Brain Dump
~An Embarrassingly Long Post~
I don’t know why I’m writing this or why I’m so determined to do it. Maybe to finally assume my true form and become a mega dork on main, or maybe just for fun!
This is basically a compilation of all the main points running through my head after reading The Mysterious Benedict Society (2007) for the first time. Rather than posting a ton and spamming the tag, everything’s here in one neat package! (hopefully this gets it all out of my system rip)
Contents:
The Book Itself
The Book Itself, for real this time
The Characters
A Funny Parallel
The S.Q. Section
Lines & Scenes I Liked
Spoilers abound!
The Book Itself
Upon acquiring the first three books (don’t judge me pls), I was surprised at just how long they are. Like, they’re still pretty light being paperbacks and all, but these books are hefty lads.
The first book has this Disney+ Original Series circle thing printed on it, which is kind of unfortunate. Regardless, I love the cover illustration and yellow is actually my favorite color :D It made me weirdly quite happy whenever I saw the book lying around in my room
Also, it’s really cute how there’s a letter from Mr. Benedict at the end! (It only reveals that you can find out his first name if you “know the code”, meaning the bit of Morse printed below the summary on the back.) Shock and horror, though, as I realized I’m starting to recognize some of the letters
The Book Itself, for real this time
It’s wonderful how the tone of the book really shone through to the show adaptation. Something about the deliberateness of the aesthetic, from the set designs to the fashion to scene compositions, that really sells that particular style— like it’s very clear that this story is being told to us, rather than one we’re seeing unfold, if that makes sense.
Where that narration style stood out to me the most was the first chapter. We are told (rather than shown) how Reynie gets himself to the point of the second test, and there’s this whole twisty time maneuver for that whole sequence of events that’s really interesting
A super secret fun fact about me is that I wanted to be a writer when I was younger! So this particular balance of show vs. tell is really neat, since it runs counter to my own tendencies. The sheer amount of commas in every sentence is also kind of comforting, since Ahah, I Do That in those few serious-ish attempts at writing lol
Overall this book’s style reminds me a lot of Roald Dahl’s books, which are very nostalgic for me :D The whole “kids are more competent than adults” angle helps a lot too haha
The Characters
Oh boy here’s where I get a little bit critical! Overall I did really like this book!! it’s just that that expresses itself in all this weird “”analysis”” lol
Reynie - much better in the books than in the show
It’s sort of a lukewarm take but I feel like show!Reynie is kind of boring? He doesn’t have a lot going on flaw-wise, and obviously since he’s the protagonist he can’t have too many weird traits or else the kids watching can’t project themselves onto him as easily
(I call it the difference between an aspirational protagonist and a vessel protagonist. Going off of the Roald Dahl vibes, think Matilda vs Charlie. show!Reynie is more of a Charlie)
Thus when we get to see him really struggle with the Whisperer and doubt himself it gives him a lot more dimension, at least in my opinion
It is a federal crime that the white knight scenes were not adapted into the show
Sticky - my son
I’ve long held to no one besides myself and my long suffering sister that Sticky is The Best Member of the Society
He happened to hit a lot of the Bingo squares of Stuff I Like In Characters: glasses, anxious, nice :), kind of a coward but ultimately is there for his friends, etc
For some reason I don’t talk about him nearly as much as you-know-who, but I love him just as dearly
Kate & Constance - I don’t have much to say
Kate is really interesting in this book! I like how we get to see more of her depths, in particular that one passage about her belief that she is invincible being the only thing that keeps her from falling apart? :c
Also her constant fidgeting is relatable lol
Constance is somehow a lot more tolerable in the book. I think I’m just one of those people with no patience for small children, unfortunately lol
(Some of) The Adults
It’s interesting that they had such an offscreen presence for most of the book. Giving them more time was probably one of the stronger changes of the show
However if that decision was made at the expense of the white knight scenes I think the choice should have been clear
I like the way Rhonda and Number Two are written
Milligan always on sad boy hours 😔✊
The “mill again” passage is touching but kind of messes up the pacing of the getaway, at least for me. Maybe I should read it again to make sure I didn’t miss something
Miss Perumal is much better in the show. We see so little of her in the book she doesn’t function well as an emotional anchor for Reynie, imo
The Institute Gang
Jackson and Jillson serve their purpose well, and Martina was surprising to say the least. I like the direction they took her in the show! I can’t imagine how funny it must have been to watch the tetherball subplot come out of nowhere lolol
These sections were written out of sequence, so random tidbit I couldn’t fit in The S.Q. Section: I like how he stumbles over his words. relatable
Mr. Curtain
While I think I know why they decided to not give Curtain the wheelchair in the show, we were totally robbed of Actor Tony Hale’s performance for the reveal during the final confrontation
Speaking of the wheelchair, it’s such a powerful symbol of his need for control or rather, his fear of losing it
The Contrast between him and Mr. Benedict. This point is expanded on in A Funny Parallel
Mr. Benedict
Oh boy, Mr. Benedict… How do I say this
I find it hard to trust Mr. Benedict, unfortunately
I mean to say, I do in the sense that I know he would never hurt the kids, thanks to knowing that a) this is a children’s book series and b) the meta (tumblr) states that he is really nice and lovable and stuff, but seriously. Why do the kids trust him at first?? I probably missed something somewhere
I like to think I’m an optimistic person, but unfortunately I’m also super paranoid. The premise of “a bunch of vulnerable orphans team up with a strange old man” is just so odd to me I don’t know how to explain it
I don’t know!!! I really want to trust Mr. Benedict
One of the strengths of the show is that we get to see him more often, and thus he gets to acknowledge more often that the plan is weird and that he feels really badly for putting the kids in danger and that he’s trustworthy and genuine
But his lack of presence for most of the book just makes him into something of a specter, invisible and unknowable, speaking only in riddles from across the bay
Which is why the white knight scene is so important!! I loved that scene ;-;
Because here’s an actual emotional connection! We can actually see it happening, rather than only being told that it exists
Reynie asking for advice and receiving encouragement, in words that demonstrate that Mr. Benedict actually cares about him and worries about him and agghh
It is a federal crime that the white knight scenes were not adapted into the show
But overall this whole issue didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the book at all! It’s just ->
A Funny Parallel
Okay, ready for my biggest brain, hottest take ever??
Mr. Benedict and Mr. Curtain…. are… the same
I mean obviously not entirely, given that one is benevolent and kind and the other is… Mr. Curtain
But seriously. Genius old man seeks out children (mainly orphans) to enact a plan. Said children often end up incredibly devoted to his cause and deeply admire him this is a little flimsy
Undoubtedly that’s intentional and is supposed to show the difference between them, like some kind of cautionary tale? “Let yourself be vulnerable and let others help you, lest you turn eeeeviiillll”
I guess that’s where the aforementioned epic contrast comes in. You get Mr. Curtain, strapped into his wheelchair and hiding behind those mirrored sunglasses, terrified (but unwilling to admit it) of ever showing the tiniest hint of vulnerability, vs. Mr. Benedict, who can let himself fall knowing that someone will catch him :’)
Anyhow I have nothing against the parallels, I just think it’s funny
The S.Q. Section
The S.Q. Quarantine Thread so it doesn’t leak out everywhere else <3
I’d like to meet the emo angstlord genius who read this book and decided to make SQ into Dr. Curtain’s son. What in the world
Okay I should probably preface this by saying that I absolutely adore both book!S.Q. and show!SQ with all my heart. Somehow, despite being a completely different character in both mediums, he has managed to be one of the best characters in either and certainly one of my favorites (besides Sticky of course) in the entire franchise, despite the fact that I’ve only read the first book/watched the show so far. I am confident in this statement.
But seriously! How?? Why?? I could probably write a whole other essay about why show!SQ is such an interesting character, and the change works so incredibly well. I’m just. Baffled
Okay, focus. book!S.Q. is such a sweetheart, oh my goodness. Like, 100% one of the most endearing characters in the book. Poor guy. I don’t even know where to start!!
He just seems to be a genuinely good guy at heart, despite being technically one of the bad guys. He’s genuinely happy for Reynie and Sticky when they became Messengers and helped Kate when she “fell” and was concerned about Constance when she looked sick and how he was in that meeting with Mr. Curtain and Martina?!!? aaahhhhghgh ;-; he just wants people to be happy TT-TT
Comparing him against literally every character at the Institute is probably what makes him so endearing tbh. When everyone else is so awful to the kids, it really makes him stand out. Like a cheerful little nightlight in the worst, most humid and rank bathroom you’ve ever been in
It’s kind of pointless to theorize about a book series that’s already concluded (I think?) but. Is the implication of S.Q.’s forgetfulness supposed to be that Mr. Curtain used him in brainsweeping experiments somehow? The timeline probably definitely absolutely doesn’t line up but like. How did he get to being a Messenger being the way he is now, given how cutthroat the process is? And then of course Mr. Curtain keeps him around as an Executive because he’s fun to mess with and presumably his loyalty. I’m very curious as to how their relationship develops in the other books, if at all. Those are probably where the seeds of the “let’s make them family” logic were planted
But wouldn’t it be hilarious if the reason we don’t know what “S.Q.” stands for in the books is that he just. Forgot
Another thing that occurred to me. Given that he and the other Executives were Messengers at some point, what were their worst fears? What is S.Q.’s worst fear?? Inquiring minds need to know
One last horrible little anecdote: I was thinking about book!S.Q. while eating breakfast, as one does, and suddenly it hit me.
I want to believe The Author Trenton Lee Stewart had the name for a character, S.Q. Pedalian, and was like, “Hm! What sort of quirky trait should this young fellow have?” Because, of course, in this style of fiction every character has to have at least one cartoonish or otherwise distinguishing trait to stand out in the minds of children. (For instance, Kate has her bucket, Sticky has his glasses, Constance is angry, and Reynie is Emmett from the Lego Movie)
Anyhow, he looks around the room, searching for inspiration. Suddenly he comes across a jumbo box of plastic wrap. Completely innocuous in design, save for one line of text. 300 SQ FT.
“…large… S.Q. …feet? THAT’S IT!” i’m sorry
Lines & Scenes I Liked
In no particular order!
Sticky quotes Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Evil combination aerobics/square dancing in the gym with the Executives
Everyone being happy at the end :’)
Everyone partying after Sticky reunites with his parents, and later finding Mr. Benedict asleep at his desk from the moment they shook hands :’’)
Literally any scene with Sticky in it
Any time Kate says “you boys” or “gosh”
[“Um, sir?” S.Q. said timidly, raising his hand. “A thought just occurred to me.” / Mr. Curtain raised his eyebrows. “That’s remarkable, S.Q. What is it?”] clown prince of my heart </3
S.Q.’s determined monologue about searching for clues after he bungled up the first time
Literally any scene with S.Q. in it (please refer to The S.Q. Section)
Reynie trying to resist the Whisperer.
[Let us begin. / First let me polish my spectacles, Reynie thought. / Let us begin. / Not without my bucket, Reynie insisted. He heard Mr. Curtain muttering behind him. / Let us begin, let us begin, let us begin. / Rules and schools are tools for fools, Reynie thought.]
NO MORE HURTIN’ WITH CURTAIN
Milligan showing up on the island!!
Remember the white knight hhhhhh
“controle”
A Super Secret Bonus Section
I would be extremely surprised if anyone read through all the way down here lol. Regardless, here’s a little acknowledgements section :D not tagging anyone since I don’t want to bother all of these people
Special shoutout to tumblr blog stonetowns for unknowingly yet singlehandedly demolishing my reluctance to read the books by posting a ton of cute quotes. Thank you for your service o7
Thanks to the two OGs that liked the post I made right before this one, for being my unwitting enablers and for sticking around despite being a) technically an internet stranger (hello!) and b) someone I haven’t spoken to irl in literal years (hey!!)
Last but not least thankz 2 my sister for putting up with me ranting about the book when I first got it and for asking about “CQ” sometimes lol. (i desperately hope you’re not reading this orz)
#the mysterious benedict society#this took me like three days to finish rip#it’s worked though! i feel less of a Mighty Need to think about this stuff constantly now#however!!! today through some conniving i have gotten the Second Book#now I’m at 3 out of 4 infinity stones. muahahaha#was going to include my villain origin story about why i like show!SQ so much but cut it for being too long and irrelevant. however#if the words jeff naomi and Sweet Dreams are Made of These mean anything to you please hit me up. it’s kind of a funny story

Genshin impact au where the Traveler is blind
They drop into Mondstadt like “hi????? What’s goin on????” and all the responsible adults in the room (jean, lisa, diluc, kaeya*) collectively think “this kid needs some friends-“ so they introduce the Traveler to some people their age (benny, mona, sucrose, amber, etc) and it goes well. The traveler is shockingly competent, more than anyone expected, and they handle themself even better once they get anemo and geo power.
They navigate a little differently based on which they have active. With anemo, they feel for obstacles through breezes. Think tapping around in the dark for a light switch, but your hand is wind. With geo, they’re just straight up Toph. its neat :3
And because I’m feeling self-indulgent, this is my take on how some characters (*cough* my favorites *cough*) interact with the traveler!! Lumine bc that’s who i picked :P
Razor
He treats her like a very respectable puppy. Before she gets good at using anemo, he guides her around the woods while they hunt. Boreas likes the fact that Razor’s getting more human friends, so he gives her additional protection in Wolvendom. It’s sweet.
Bennett
Benny’s very cautious. He’s terrified that his bad luck will get Lumine hurt because he thinks she won’t see something coming. Once she gets geo and anemo figured out, he worries less. They hang out all the time, too! Bennett was the first friend Lumi made in Teyvat, so they go exploring and treasure hunting a lot. Chaotic children :3
Sucrose
Sucrose is fascinated by how the Traveler interacts with the elements, and Lumine is happy to help. At some point, Lumi expressed frustration at having a hard time cooking some difficult dishes, so Sucrose made it her life’s work for three weeks to make cooking a much friendlier experience. It was super sweet and the two like hanging out and talking about elemental magic in the world.
Xiao
He treats Lumine like the much-respected peer she is. He witnessed firsthand the absolute badassery she’s capable of and knows she can take care of herself, so he doesn’t even worry about her safety (though he still offers his protection). I headcannon that Xiao loves studying weather patterns and the sky from the Wangshu roof. He’s kinda saddened by the fact that Lumine can’t experience it like he does, so he takes some free time to make a star chart she can feel when they spend time together.
Zhongli
I hc that Morax over here has big dad energy anyways. He’s incredibly interested in her application of Geo and often asks her to describe or demonstrate certain actions he’s never seen before. Zhongli is also lowkey protective. Like- if he catches wind that someone was harassing his kid, he’s not afraid to take action. Yeah, he’s lawful neutral, but he’s still a dad :P
Klee
She’s sad that Lumine can’t directly see what her explosions look like, or what she draws normally. Jean suggested Klee try some other methods of connecting to the Traveler. Klee took this to mean making scratch-and-sniff bombs. She’s working on making them smell different, sound different, or feel different when they go off so that Miss Lumine doesn’t feel left out. It makes the Traveler’s heart melt a bit.
Noelle
Noelle feels like she has to be very responsible around Lumine. She worries that Mondstadt isn’t well-equipped enough for Lumine and that she’ll get hurt when doing commissions or fighting dragons and whatnot. Lumine assured her she’s okay, and it takes some time to make that sink in, but eventually, Noelle calms down. She and Lumine spend a lot of time together, mostly because they have mutual crushes and are bad at communicating that Noelle looks up to Lumine for all she’s accomplished without one of the five senses.

T2 was okay and it could have been really good—had some real moments. But it needed more script iterations, and it was too goofy. Goofy is fine in general, but Terminator works best as a sci-fi action-drama-horror mesh. That’s the peak atmosphere. Also just, they gave their new Terminator scary powers to keep him relevant, but there’s just...no way to really make anyone on screen look like a threat to Arnold Schwarzenegger you know? And they never overcame that and it throws off the whole underdog atmosphere. He just. Wasn’t scary. Not when he was trying to kill heckin Arnold the brick house.
I’m not gonna talk about T3 bc I feel like I don’t need to and I think I have a lot of support for that in the fandom, and I’m not gonna talk any Genysis bc no one ever should, and I know I have support there.
Dark Fate was fine, but I felt like they really didn’t have to kill off their Kyle expy like at this point the surprising thing and interesting one would be /not/ to kill him. That role has died in /every/ other film. Like we get it. But plot rehashes are only good if you have some kind of spin. Mostly though I just...would have liked T800 man’s personality in another context but you couldn’t ever sell me on him after watching him gun down a 10 year old in the open. Like what, he found a soul by being...bored? If you want to convince me of fundamental change in a person, you /gotta/ motivate it better. Show me. Don’t tell me and expect me to take your word. And there just wasn’t enough meet in some spots. I wanted more firm lore and a little less action. Like I’m not even a science-heavy leaning sci-fi fan but it still wasn’t enough. I liked it more than most of the others but it just wasn’t quite...meaty enough. Sarah still a queen. But T800 man didn’t sell and that was a real weak spot, and so was expecting us and Sarah to just...like and forgive him bc he had accrued a family. But also like. I enjoyed having a new protag, but feeling like so much, no, /all/ of the work and suffering of everyone in other Terminator films was for nothing bc it’s not even Skynet anymore it’s some other robots?? It kind just...didn’t really work. It makes everything more hollow like it’s not even Terminator anymore there’s no more Terminators. They should have just had it be Skynet but a different rebel leader, or more. Sarah goes on to mentor Dani instead since John is dead, /something/ to make it more the same franchise and not so hollow. Or if it’s gonna be gutted, go all the way and let us feel that, don’t blip it as a plot point once and keep rolling. There’s decades of character attachment for fans; either make that matter, or make it mourned because it’s dead. Don’t skim it and make it cheap. Also on a meta level it was kind of weird how they handled time travel compared to the norm for the franchise but I’m not going into that.
BUT. The Terminator? A cinematic classic. It’s just...such a good film. The characters work is solid the whole movie, and Reese and Sarah are both truly excellent protagonists also given ample time to explore and exhibit that. There’s so much you get in moments that show tiny things about them. The way Sarah handles getting canceled on and goofing with Ginger, her having a pet iguana she loves to cuddle, talking to the statue at work? And she’s smart and normal (I mean normal in a very complimentary way). Kyle is introduced almost immediately running from the cops, but even in the middle of a chase scene, he’s stealing clothes in a mall while evading flashlights, and little things like hopping while he runs to check shoe sizes give you so much right away. He’s clearly out of his depth but he’s smart and methodical and he holes up in a car he hotwires and has a ptsd moment waking up from a dream because of some heavy construction machinery. You don’t have him say much about himself at all but you get him taking a second to be nice to the kids and guard dog on his way back before a T800 attacks. Even though if you’re watching it classic, you have no spoken goal for Reese and all you know is he’s armed and /also/ looking for Sarah, like the man who has killed three people already is, you kind of aren’t very scared of him by the time he’s creepily following her into a night club. That scene is iconic too damn. Anyway. Her reactions to everything are so great. Only film I ever saw where I 100% felt the person on screen was reacting like anyone would to almost being killed and then getting kidnap-saved by some other guy claiming to be from the future like I’d bite him too, but you know, I’d also be pretty happy he saved me and also decide he was crazy and not like, dangerous, and try to keep the cops from killing him. It’s so cute he thinks anyone is going to believe him like hang in there Kyle baby, king. Love as soon as the Terminator hits the police station, he breaks out and goes to find Sarah, and she’s immediately like ‘so fuck this actually’ and looking for him too. The deleted scene in the motel woods. The slow character build. Him falling in love with her because of the picture where she always looked a little sad and he wondered what she was thinking about and you don’t find out till the last scene it’s him she was thinking about in that picture. A family can be two complete trauma disasters making pipe bombs in a motel. The top 5 cinema shots moment where you think they won and they think they won and they’re both injured and stagger to each other and collapse laughing and crying and hugging and it holds for like ten seconds before that fucking thing gets up and you see the rubble in the fire shift and Kyle sees it first. And the hopelessness and despair. Sarah just screaming no in rage because it’s so unfair. The little scaffolding fight?? Kyle doing what he does? Sarah winning with a broken leg? The picture? The heartbreak? A work of art.
Also just. They’re both attractive but like, they are not remotely airbrushed Hollywood pretty. Kyle’s got that big scar on his lip and they’re both sweaty and bloody and dirty and gross the whole film??? God yeah.
Terminator Salvation? Also a classic. You have a film not about the core cast exactly, but it’s very ensemble. You get early days war. And it’s from the very open a solid narrative about second chances and what it means to be human and they really do explore that the whole runtime. Markus dies and comes back more confused than you are in the apocalypse. Baby Reese is absolutely perfect. You get formerly executed for murder Markus somehow adopting like 20 year old Reese and 13 year old kid Star and they’re amazing. Rebellion drama, lore reveals. Reese’s devout faith in the cause and how fast he looks up to Markus and starts learning and Markus is like :[ but then he’s like ... :] because he god assigned two family members now. The tag team fights—how incredibly talented Star is. Guilt trip on a look to dropping cars, she’s super effective. Tbh Markus is just O_O to >:-[ the whole movie as soon as Reese and Star are taken and I feel it. You’ve got a guy who was killed for straying too far from human, come back as a machine, but he doesn’t know it, wondering if he deserves another chance and if he can change, and it’s really neat the way it unfolds. Even after losing so many friends to Terminators that look human, Blair refuses to believe he isn’t a human even if he’s also a machine and risks her life to save him, when they barely know each other. Markus getting like, tortured by the rebels, and still choosing to help them and be who he has decided he wants to be this time, even towards John. Even with better alternatives. And you have Star never having a moment of doubt, or Reese, and him getting to save them both, and them trying to help the other humans in line for extermination before he arrives. The hand hold with Star when his hands just metal. And he decides to die for someone he doesn’t even /like/ and who has personally hurt him a lot of times, because he knows the rebels need him to win. Anyway death row to death row but completely different people in the same body facing that same death differently are amazing if done well (see TWDG I mean ow) and it was a very simple core theme to latch to and very enjoyable executed and it got snubbed by fans when it’s the best sequel Terminator ever had.
#thus concludes my spoiler heavy rant for why Terminator Salvation and The Terminator are the best two Terminator films#the terminator#terminator salvation#ramblings#spoilers#twdg spoilers#long post#sorry I had no idea how long this was

Okay, so the brain’s a bit caught up in one of my other writing projects, but I refuse to abandon this entirely. So I’m gonna just power through this and then get back to Vibing™.
Actually, it’s kinda cute that the hero Thirteen is introduced in chapter thirteen. I wonder if Hori did that on purpose or just managed it as a fun coincidence.
[No. 13 - Rescue Training]
So we start off on Wednesday morning (which would be April 12th/11th) at 7:35 AM. There’s a hostage situation by a villain who looks like a goddamned pokemon (my brain has made the ‘buff ditto’ comparison and now I am Shook) who is, according to Mt. Lady, a serial robber and murderer by the name of Habit Headgear. Kamui Woods, whose wood bindings have apparently been broken trying and failing to contain the guy, is tossed back on the ground as he notes the villain is strong and a quick strategist.
Seems like she and Kamui Woods have teamed up together! Or at least responded to the same villain attack again. Also, who’s this dude?
Random Mii Blaster escaped from Smash Ultimate and is now in BNHA, when will the madness end.
Naturally, the hostages are not handling this situation super well, though the crowds watching don’t seem as worried? IDK hard to tell from far away. The buff ditto villain uses double team, no wait I mean agility, actually his high speed to show how outclasses the heroes on the scene are.
As he announces his plans to escape, we see All Might rushing in loud enough for the stomps to be heard. He announces his arrival mere moments before he fucking snaps the villain’s neck with a handchop - or, well, not really, but damn that had to be a hard hit. All Might also managed to grab the family out of harm’s way in the process, announcing that he’s on his morning commute.
The crowds cheer for All Might, while Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods are somewhat put out - they appreciate the help, but also worry All Might will put them out of business.
(I guess this is where all those fics that do bring up how All Might cuts down the hero job market on his own pull from? Or just coincidence, who knows.)
The police thank All Might with salutes for the help, and All Might give his own quick responding salute before he declares he needs to head off so he won’t be late. Of course, that’s when he hears about a hit-and-run (that super hearing lol) and takes off, just so coincidentally in the direction of said trouble. Despite that fact that he needs to get to work. This man.
While he’s in the air, he considers how his speed has dropped, and that he’s been weakening since he passed on his power. Not to mention that after his rescue of Izuku and Katsuki from the sludge villain, his maximum time went down. Which is not at all referencing him about to overdo it again and lose more time, no siree.
We descend into a flashback to right where we left off after the battle trial, with All Might confronting Izuku about telling Katsuki about (some of) One For All. All Might is surprised and a bit nervous? Worried? Or that bead of sweat in the flashback might be from the strain of holding the form when he’s about to run out of time.
In any case, Izuku in the past apologizes and says he hasn’t even told his mom, but that he had to tell Katsuki something… All Might determines this might be a consequence of not being explicit enough about keeping the secret, since Izuku isn’t the type to brag or boast. Also calls Izuku too sincere, hah, isn’t that the truth. All Might says it’s lucky Katsuki thought he was joking, so All Might can forgive the slip this time, but that Izuku cannot tell another soul.
(Stares at this.) (Looks at recent manga events.) Whelp.
Anyways, All Might catches the car of the hit and run guy (and man, that face the dude is making) while thinking about how, suitable successor or not, Izuku’s still just fifteen, so All Might had to make things clear. Of course, then All Might overhears about a hostage crisis the next town over, and, well.
We transition to right after lunch (12:50) with Aizawa announcing that that day’s hero training plans - something supervised by himself, All Might, and one other teacher. Izuku realizes it has to be a special class, while Sero raises his hand to ask what they’re doing. Aziawa’s reply?
I swear this is exactly the same shit All Might did before the battle trial, gimme a second-
Bahahahaha incredible. Though then again, I wonder if those are security cards keys to certain locations. It would make sense, though then I wonder how Katsuki and Izuku were able to get into Training Ground Beta without one… hrm…
Anyways! Kaminari, Ashido, and Kirishima end up talking about it; Kaminari says it’ll be a rough day, with Ashido pumped as she agrees, and Kirishima also pumped as he says that it’s what being a hero is all about. Asui notes that she’ll be right as home in a flood. Aizawa silences them with a glare, saying he’s not done. He presses the button to unveil the costume lockers, telling the class that it’s their choice whether or not to wear their costumes, since some of them are ill-suited for this kind of activity.
Oh boy, will this put you on the path to the hero you’ll be come… but not for the reasons you think, buddy. The joke here is trauma.
It seems like most of the class does still choose to go in costume, barring Izuku - whose costume is still being repaired after the damage done to it in battle training. However, he still has his belt, gloves, knee pads, and mouth guard (with the mouth guard being new) on him.
Golly, I wonder why your costume needed to be replaced, Izuku.
(thonk.)
Also Tenya jkfdkjdgfkj Oh My God You Dramatic Egg. He’s got a whistle and he’s directing the class to line up by ID number so they can fill the seats in an orderly fashion.
I’m love this boy so much. And it’s even funnier because the bus has an open layout, meaning it was pointless. Poor Tenya is in Despair, with Ashido teasing him for his efforts being wasted.
Savage. But yeah, looks like it’s Sato, Izuku, Asui, Kirishima, Tenya, Ashido, Aoyama, and Kaminari in the front seats. And Asui - sorry, Tsuyu - just outright says she says what’s on her mind, which startles Izuku since he didn’t expect her to talk to him I guess? She tells Izuku to call her Tsuyu, then turns to him and just says his quirk resembles All Might’s.
Izuku, being the sincere boy he is, stutters and stumbles out something that almost looks like a denial, before Kirishima, bless his himbo soul, points out that All Might doesn’t get hurt by his own quirk, so they’re already different in that way. He then goes on to state that that kind of simple, strength enhancing quirk is awesome and that a lot of cool stuff can be done with it.
Kirishima then goes on to show off his hardening, saying that it’s good for a fight, but otherwise boring. Midoriya ‘holy fuck I love quirks’ Izuku thinks otherwise, actually sparkling as he proclaims the quirk to be neat and more than enough for going pro. Kaminari notes that heroes also have to worry about popular appeal. Aoyama says his navel laser quirk is both strong and cool, and thus perfect for heroics. Ashido then kneecaps him by adding in that that’s as long as he doesn’t blow up his own stomach.
Ashido’s Savagery: The Sequel.
In the next panel, we see Katsuki’s been paying attention to this convo, which has me wondering if this is when he was first starting to piece together OFA from Izuku’s mention of ‘getting the quirk from someone else’ and ‘like All Might’s’. However, when he is brought up in the conversation (alongside Shouto) as examples of ‘strong and cool quirks’, he feigns disinterest and looks away, trying to play cool.
(Also, he doesn’t seem to have his gauntlets on him here, though I know he’s brought one with him as seen a bit later. I wonder whether he chose to leave one of them behind or if he might have been restricted from bringing more than one by Aizawa… interesting either way.)
Tsuyu then brings up how Katsuki being so unhinged means he’ll never be popular. Katsuki, naturally, takes offence and slams his hands on the rail in front of him, demanding to know what she just said. Tsuyu sticks out her tongue as she points at him making her point. Poor Jirou, having to be seated next to someone so loud.
And the moment literally the whole discord was waiting for, Kaminari’s brutal vocabulary takedown of Katsuki, something cut entirely from the anime. Friendly reminder that Kaminari is, in fact, a major lit nerd! He’s Not Dumb! Stop Making Him Dumb In Fics! He not only has the most verbose vocabulary in the class that isn’t from the rich kids (and in some ways is even more so), he also has Katsuki absolutely pegged despite only knowing him for a few days. He Earned His UA Spot.
While Katsuki snaps back at Kaminari, Izuku is hunched over in disbelief that Katsuki’s the one getting bullied for once, but he supposes that that’s UA for you…
To the side, Yaomomo declares the conversation vulgar, while Ochako is laughing and saying it’s fun. Offscreen, I’m assuming that it’s Kaminari mock-marvelling at how he didn’t think Katsuki’s mouth could get any fouler.
The last panel on the page is Aizawa interrupting them to announce that they’ve arrived at the training grounds, and to look sharp. The whole class (I guess?) snaps to attention.
And that’s the halfway point, so I will leave the USJ proper for next time! This has been a Savage Mina and Smart Denki appreciation post, so appreciate them, or else.

Vampire!Ash AU (NOT SEXUAL)
I found a few different fan arts of vampire Ash recently, and I decided to write some. Yes, I fell into the “uncontrollable thirst” trap, but I’m a sucker for angst where the perpetrator can’t be blamed. Also there are like a bazillion different ways to tag this ship, so I just wrote A L L O F T H E M.
Sal POV:
As Sal ate, his eyes wandered over to Ash, and he frowned, setting down his food and lowering his mask. She was shifting in her seat, licking her lips, and her emerald eyes were darting all over the street. While he watched, the whites of her eyes flickered briefly to a soul-piercing coal black, and back again. His movement drew her gaze for a split second, and she tensed as her eyes fell on his wrist, pausing momentarily before she shook herself.
“Hey, Ash?”
She finally met his eyes, still turning her head towards the slightest sounds around them.
“Yeah?”
“Is… something wrong?”
Ash tried for her signature smirk, but her fang caught the top of her lip in a way that reminded Sal of Larry’s nervous habit.
“No, no, I’m alright.”
He raised an eyebrow behind his mask.
“Don’t lie to me, Ash. I may not have super senses or anything, but I can tell when something’s bothering my best friends. So get talking.”
“I -” she began, then sighed deeply, dropping her head. When she looked up again, her eyes were black once more, the green smouldering like an ethereal flame. “Sal, can you possibly do me a huge favour?”
His eyes narrowed in concern, and he swung round to face her, straddling the bench.
“Of course, you can ask me anything.”
Ash glanced round the room. Her unsettledness was beginning to unnerve him; it wasn’t like her at all.
“Okay, so usually I don’t drink from people. You know that. But it is better than most other blood - more fulfilling.”
“I’m not sure I like where this is going…”
She laughed, but there was something off about it. Sal couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but his hand crept to the cross Ash had insisted all of them carry in case of an “accident”.
“Sorry, Sally. But anyway, I didn’t have time to drink bottled animal blood this morning, and I… wait, I never told you what happens if I don’t drink enough, did I?”
“I don’t think I wanna know.”
“No, you definitely don’t. Point is, I don’t drink, your friend Ash disappears, and something much more aggressive comes out instead.”
His fingers curled around the cross behind his back, slowly drawing it from his pocket. Ash’s eyes fell on his hand knowingly, and she smiled sadly.
“Don’t worry, it’s not desperate yet. I’m still me - for now.” He slipped the cross back in his pocket with an exaggerated sigh of relief, but he kept on alert, his hand still on it, just in case. “Now, I could, theoretically, go hunt some animals in bat form, but that will drain me quicker, and considering we’re in a relatively clean and busy town, if I can’t find anything…”
Sal laid his other hand consolingly on her shoulder, and almost immediately regretted his decision as Ash’s eyes fell hungrily on his wrist again. He settled for leaning forward and speaking softly, gently removing his hand.
“What can I do to help?”
“Well, as I see it, I have two options.” Ash’s eyes bored into him, not having changed back. “I can go bat-form and pray to… I don’t know, Satan or something, that I can find something in time, or…” She looked at him meaningfully, and he understood exactly what she meant.
“Or you can drink from me.”
“I swear I won’t take enough to kill you, or turn you, or even knock you out, and I will only do it if you let me. I’d never hurt you if you didn't tell me it was okay.”
Sal considered, weighing up how much she needed it with how much he trusted her.
“Alright.”
Her unnatural eyes widened.
“Really?”
“Yeah. You’re clearly struggling to not… go psycho, or whatever it is that happens. I’m here, and you won’t actually damage me at all, so why not? Heck, I’ve probably gone through more painful operations.”
She threw her arms around him tightly.
“Holy crap, Sally Face, you’re the best!”
A slow smile spread across his face, and he returned the hug, letting his already unbuckled mask fall into his lap. She pulled back for a second, looking pleased at the visibility of his face, and running a hand through her hair.
“There’s one more thing I can do to make it easier for you.”
“Which is?”
Her eyes shifted sideways, and she smirked bashfully.
“One of my weird-ass powers is… sort of like hypnotism. I can’t control you or anything, but I can put you in a trance. If I do that, you won’t feel a thing while I drink. Otherwise, it’s gonna hurt. But again, I won’t do it unless you let me.”
“That’s probably a good idea. Thanks, I guess.”
“No, thank you. You didn’t have to do this.” She stopped, tilting her head to examine him. “Seriously, you don’t have to do this. I’m not sure what you think it’s gonna be like, but Hollywood lied to you. This would normally hurt like hell, and it’s blood, so it’s sticky, and messy, and gross, and… yeah. Just generally not fun.”
“I know.” Sal leaned forward again, knowing exactly how dangerous it was, but this time not caring. “I trust you. I don’t think you’ll hurt me.”
“I won’t. I mean, I will, I’m literally about to, but I won’t do any major damage, and I’ll do my best to minimize the pain. Ready?”
He tugged down the front of his jumper quickly, brushing his hair out of his eyes, and shifting to face Ash.
“Yeah. See you in a minute?”
“Maybe a few.”
Ash POV:
“Maybe a few.”
She closed her eyes, focusing hard on the tiny pinprick of power inside her. It wasn’t much, vampires were an extremely diluted type of magic, but it was enough for this. She let her eyes slide open again, throbbing with her will, and met Sal’s eyes. She could feel him instinctively resisting the pull, trying to keep his head clear.
“Don’t fight it, Sally, you agreed to this. Remember?”
He smiled. Honestly surprising he could hold out this long.
“Is this the part where you tell me to stare into your eyes and just relax?”
She snorted.
“Pretty much. Kinda shocked you’re still lucid enough to make that joke.”
“Yeah, it’s not going to last. You do know how to wake me up, right?”
She just smirked, leaving herself the last laugh as Sal’s joking eyes widened in nervousness for a split second before they glazed over, and his expression became completely neutral. The smile faded off her face, and she looked over her statue-still friend remorsefully. She stuck a hand in front of his face and waved, but there was no acknowledgement. He was utterly bewitched.
“Sorry, Sal.”
She made to grab his wrist, then stopped. She looked up at his blank, scarred face, then gently rose up on one knee, kissing his forehead tenderly.
“You really are incredible”, she told him, but she knew he didn’t hear.
Sal POV:
“Sally?”
A voice cut through the haze surrounding him, and for a split second of clarity, he realized his mind had been completely shut down, not registering anything at all.
“Sal.”
Such a beautiful voice. Silvery, flowing, and gorgeous, like ribbon.
“Come on, Sally Face, you’re stronger than this.”
Familiar?
“Goddamn it, Sal, snap out of it.”
The voice was almost pitying, but there was a soft edge to it, and it sounded like it was holding back laughter.
No, not it. Her.
Green eyes settled into focus in front of his own listless pair. The rest of her face spiralled into his vision as well, and the pieces of her slowly connected, becoming more and more familiar. Like an old friend.
Ash.
All at once, everything sharpened, and Sal’s hand flew up to his head, an abrupt awareness of his rebooting mind. As he did, he registered a dull pain somewhere on his body, where she must have bitten him, but he wasn’t quite conscious enough to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from. The memory of what he’d just thought about her voice sprung up on him, and, realizing the mask was no longer in place to hide his blush, he decided to dismiss it as a result of the enchantment.
“Hey, sleeping beauty. You in there?” asked Ash teasingly, but there was something heavier behind her words, something a little too sober to be good.
“I… I think so. Your weird power thingy really did a number on me, but I’m just a little groggy.” He let his hand fall back in his lap, bumping against his discarded mask as he did, and gave her a tired smile. Now he was actually himself again, he noticed a roll of gauze and a clinical looking spray on the table next to them, and he glanced up at Ash. Her eyes were back to their normal human-passing appearance, and there was a subtle smudge of red at the corner of her mouth.
“I figured it was best to keep you under while I cleaned up the bite. Antiseptic spray is a little bitch.”
He smiled at that, but it dropped off his face at the thought of what she’d had to do. Absently, he put a hand up to his neck, feeling for the bite mark, and frowned.
“Where’s the -”
“The whole thing about vampires and necks is mostly a myth,” Ash replied, the weight behind her words still prominent. “Check your other pulse points.”
A vague dread began to settle over him, and hesitantly he looked down at his hands. Gauze was poking out from his sleeve, and upon seeing it, he instantly knew exactly what was wrong. He pulled his jumper back to reveal two twin holes bound under the fabric bandages, where she’d drank, then pulled the thick cotton back further. The neat gashes lined up across his arm were bound as well. A quick tap on his other arm told him the marks there were treated too. Shame washed over him, and trying to meet Ash’s eyes was like fighting a brick wall with his non-existent powers of telekinesis. Her hand slid under his chin, cold from the wind like one of the undead bloodsuckers he’d seen in movies, and brought his face up level to hers.
“Sally…”
“What can I say to pass this off as not a big deal?”
Out of the corner of his eyes, Ash curled back her lips, revealing her gleaming fangs, and her brow furrowed, her eyes earnest in their utter horror, before she dropped her head, letting out a long, slow breath.
“Listen, Sal, I don’t know why you’re doing this to yourself. I don’t know what could have driven someone like you to pick up a blade and… I just don’t. But I also know I can’t stop you. It’s an addictive habit, I know, and you’ll find a way to do it if you’ve made up your mind that’s what you’re gonna do.” He finally turned towards her, needing to see her expression clearly. It was pointless, though, as she’d looked away, hiding her face. “Knowing how deep your self-hatred goes, I don’t think I can convince you to stop. And vampire hypno powers only go so far. But please, I am begging you, stay relatively safe while you do it. I can’t lose you.” She met his gaze, desperation lining her body as she leaned towards him, cupping his face. “At least get yourself some fucking bandages.”
“I’m sorry.” The hoarseness of Sal’s voice caught him by just as much surprise as the hot tears that spilled over his lids out of nowhere. Ash’s face softened, and she leaned still further forward, her hands bunching up the back of the jumper as she pulled him in for a hug. He squeezed his eyes shut, the tears forcing themselves out, and tucked his head against her shoulder.
“You should be apologizing to yourself, but I’m not delusional enough to think that’s gonna happen.” She stroked his hair understandingly, the feeling registering through the despairing numbness. “I know I literally just had you under a spell, which I did to give me an opportunity to take some of your blood, but… I genuinely don’t want you getting hurt.” Her grip tightened, and she rested her chin on his head. “I love you, Sally Face. You know that. And if you won’t take self-preservation as a reason to stop, maybe you’ll take the three of us needing you as one. We need you, Sal.”
“Thank you…” he mumbled, clutching at his mask. Ash seemed to understand; she gently pulled back, watching him buckle on the mask sadly. He paused, feeling her gaze still on him, and looked up. “I mean it, Ash. I love you too, and that… really helped.”

do you have a favorite killjoy ship? or a non-romantic dynamic with her that you really like?
[ killjoy headcannons II ]
✎↷: yes, i do! romantic ships wise would be nanobite/sagejoy, but it really depends on the kind of take you get on killjoy. personally, i illustrate killjoy as a very childish and petty character, and she’s still smart to get through things on her own and come up with solutions. in my eyes she seems relatively young, and i try to put that in the best! non-romantic dynamics would be with raze, viper, cypher, brimstone, and reyna.
my top killjoy ship is sage and killjoy. it’s a dabble of shared trauma and simply ‘sage can put down killjoy’s narcissism complex in an instant and shatter her whole career so i’m going to write it’. their dynamic is definitely the softest and most slice-of-life because they’re able to provide for each other and talk it out as baby gays :’D
killjoy’s most angsty moment with sage took place in an icebox mission for the agent yoru, where the german died point blank after providing cover for sage and another agent. at this point, the two of them haven’t met each other personally, but it begins to be after sage resurrects killjoy in pools of blood. super nasty, very trauma, much love.
sage’s pain is something that she knows, when cypher gives her news that the healer has chosen to isolate herself in her room for the time being. the exchange of power in life— sage’s is an eye for an eye, a breath for a death, but killjoy’s is radianite and life. her machines are constantly improving and don’t fully come to a stop at any given point, and while she shouldn’t worry what happens after the rocket rises, killjoy is made to when she discovers the amount of deaths she’s responsible for, all for the sake of kingdom’s radiante supply.
she weighs her values. this harm is not the blood that should be stained on her fingertips, nor the bright teenager who had made the spike without full awareness. but she understands what sage is feeling all for the sake of the matter of life and death, and she chooses to interrupt the healer’s stay in her quarters with a plate of gingerbread cookies and a few teary words. sage needed it; needed someone to listen. killjoy provided.
they dance around each other a lot, and while sage is often rigid and at unease most of the time, killjoy eases it. or not eases it— she brushes over it, brings in her wave of joy and gibberish and guides sage through and allows her a break from her own world and into the engineer’s. it’s why sage knows killjoy best for her unhealthy eating routines and the resistance to going out to exercise, so sage is the one who brings the world down for she and killjoy to share. they’ll both get better, step by step.
their relationship developed way longer into the future, and in between their meeting and then, they’re close friends. sage and killjoy along with cypher make the neat sentinel duo, and i think they’re all good pals! mentioned this once before, but killjoy drags them around as the best friends into virtually everything that she does, and it brings much more chaos into their lives than what they signed up for. this involves one a.m. trips to the local diner and walking around the city after missions, and it brings them together.
sage gave killjoy a spa day. she promised it’d be nothing long, just to get out those knots and everything since the german had been hard at work for days now. she couldn’t say no to the woman (she could be scary, okay?) and it was much rawer than what she thought it’d turn out to be. killjoy showed up to sage’s room, barefaced and hair freshly washed, and sat on the floor between the healer’s legs. a comb gently brushed through her hair, too kind for the taut muscles of killjoy’s body, and sage had breathed one phrase:
“you can relax.” a pause. “you are safe here, always. i promise.”
with intricate braids in her hair, killjoy falls asleep against sage’s knee, and the healer does not move.
viper and killjoy is another story. she is guarded, her against the world, seeking revenge against the ones who have wronged her. viper and killjoy are two different people, and they clash. killjoy comes barging into viper’s lab sometimes, checking in on the serpent, buzzing around and learning all she can about what the woman is researching on. it is a pest in viper’s eyes, but she does not push killjoy out. if she is here for learning, then it does not matter.
and because viper is so estranged from reality, visualized as a cut-throat monster, it takes killjoy’s insistence to get a dent into that barrier. they very much have the possibility of being friends, and killjoy literally takes the death threats as friendly banter. “get out of my lab before i make sure that you don’t wake up tomorrow.” “oh, sabine, that’s so thoughtful of you! you know, i haven’t really been able to sleep well for these past few days, so if you make something, that’d be great! unless that’s a death threat. then, you’re twenty-five years too late on that one, buddy!”
viper calls killjoy maus, or mouse in german. the nickname makes killjoy laugh because one, viper is shorter than her and two, it is a little bit of a pet name for partners. she’s not complaining, though! if viper can talk to her and make some time of day for killjoy, it’s all the reward that she needs. dating would involve viper to include other names, having grown a liking to german ones such as schneke or liebling. it makes her maus’ heart flutter all that more.
reyna and killjoy is a whole other story. this is completely non-romantic, if anything, they hate each other! reyna hates killjoy specifically because she is non-radiant and her machines do harm, and the other is petrified of the mexican. killjoy can snap back easily, but the vampire gets beneath her skin and discomforts her on all levels, so she never usually does. killjoy has fits of rage and pure relapse because of her, and it becomes the thorn in her side.
brimstone and killjoy are father daughter. she mocks him a lot of the time but she’ll never hesitate to compliment him either. “brimstone, that was wonderful!” she’d cheer, and the man would laugh and ruffle her beanie. “hey, kid, not too loud. the others will be jealous.” they fight here and there and always make up for it. killjoy’s dynamic with him is by far the most fun to write, and the chaos that comes from a war criminal and her papa is incredible.
razejoy! i actually don’t need to say much on this one. i have.. tons of writing that involve their shenanigans, mostly from with my reblog writings with @code-name-wraith ! check them out :-)

Moonlit Masquerade: Moonlit Forever After Pt 1
Finale and Part 15 of the Moonlit Masquerade Series
Luz woke slowly, bright sunlight shining on her face from the opened, stained glass window. She grumbled to herself, scrunching her face before turning over to snuggle into Amity. She frowned to herself when she found no warm fiancée and reached out, hand sliding across the sheets, searching, but found them empty and cold, she frowned before peeling an eye open to find the other side of the bed empty, devoid of Amity.
“Oh, right…,” she mumbled groggily and frowning. Amity had stayed with Willow last night so they wouldn’t see each other till tonight at the wedding. She grumbled and let her eye slide back closed, almost falling back asleep.
Her eyes popped open, grogginess falling away as she sat up in bed.
The Wedding!
Today is her wedding day!
She jumped out of bed and dressed quickly. Once she’s finished she stops and looks around at what has been her bedroom for the last three years, then her and Amity’s for three more. The room is barren save for the bed, her things for the ceremony, and some boxes sitting on the floor, they have already packed up all their things over the last week and moved most of it into the new house sitting just a short walk away. They decided to wait until after the wedding to move in, even though the house has been finished for over a month. Neither could bear to leave the owl house yet, knowing the time would come soon enough, and now it was here. She looks around at the bare walls a little sadly. It feels so final, even though she knows she will be back in this house many, many times from this day forward, even if it won’t be her house anymore, the Owl House will always be home. She carefully makes the bed for the last time before taking a deep breath and smiles as she walks out, passing the clothes hung up on the closet door in their garment bag, she wouldn’t get dressed in those till the last minute before leaving the house. She took the stairs two at a time before sliding into the kitchen.
“Buenos dia, mi familia!” Luz grinned brightly at Eda, Lilith, and King, sitting at the kitchen table. “Today is the day!” she declared as the Clawthorne sisters smiled back at her.
“Excited?” Lilith asked with a grin.
“Terrified actually, but also excited, yes.” she grinned, grabbing some apple blood out of the fridge before sitting down with them.
“Last chance to back out and run away to the knee and start life as a hermit,” Eda said with a grin that spoke of her teasing.
“Not on your life.” Luz grinned making Eda chuckle.
“Just checking.” Eda smiled at her fondly from across the table and Luz smiled back, looking around at them and knowing that there will be many more days like this again, but they will never be quite the same as this one. It’s sad even as it’s exciting, starting a whole new chapter of her life, with Amity as her wife.
“I’m kinda nervous just thinking about it, this time tomorrow I’ll be Luz… well, still Luz Noceda, but you know,” Luz chuckled.
“You’ll be Mrs. Luz Noceda, married to Mrs. Amity Noceda,” Lilith supplied, nodding and Luz’s stomach erupted in butterflies at that, the same way it did every time someone said it.
Amity Noceda
She grins stupidly to herself at the thought and Lilith and Eda share an amused look.
King sniffles, looking up at her from his breakfast.
“Do you have to go?” he blinks up at her with wide eyes and Luz smiled at him, picking him up and squeezing him gently, he lets her, squeezing back, burying his face in her chest.
“Yes, King, I do, but it’s okay. You can always come over to our house, and I’ll still be here all the time, me and Amity,” she assured the little demon, squeezing.
“It’s quite sad in a way.” Lilith smiled at her forlornly. “The end of an era, it won’t be us sitting here having meals as a family anymore.”
“It won’t be exactly the same,” Luz agrees. “But Amity and I will come over often, you can bet on it.” She set the demon down in his chair and he sniffles but nods. “You’re still gonna be my ring bearer tonight, right, boo-boo buddy?” Luz asks him and he jumps back up, nodding.
“No one will bear those rings better than the King of Demons!” he declares, clawed fist raised in the air, and luz smiles at him.
“I don’t doubt it.”
“You and Amity might be the Noceda’s after tonight, but you’ll both always be Clawthorne’s” Eda declared and Lilith nodded in agreement. Luz smiled at them, truly touched by that.
“I could probably convince Amity to let us be the Noceda-Clawthorne’s.” She grinned.
“Aw, that’s too much of a mouthful, Kid, but I appreciate it.” Eda smiled at her.
They eat breakfast in comfortable silence, pancakes, and enjoy this last breakfast that is not the last, but it’s the last one that will ever be like this again.
Luz pulls out her scroll and taps Amity’s contact and types out a quick message.
‘Good morning, my soon to be wife! Can’t wait to see you, mi amor. <3’
She slipped it back into her pocket and looked up at everyone.
“Welp, the caterers, and stuff are in charge of getting everything set up tonight for the reception at the school, and the rest of the wedding party promised to get the chairs and stuff put up at the tree, so I guess I have a while to kill before I have to go pick up Mami. You guys wanna do something? One last unmarried, family hoorah?” she looked around the table.
Eda and Lilith looked at each other curiously before a grin broke out across both their faces.
Luz blinked.
~ ~ Amity yawned as she slowly rolled over in bed, immediately reaching for the warm body she’s so used to and is disappointed when she finds only cold sheets. Her eyes slide open and she’s met with an unfamiliar room and remembers she’s at Willow’s place, while Luz had stayed at home to spend a final day as a resident of the owl house with the others before tonight. She frowns, sitting up, it was strange, sleeping alone after almost never doing so for the last three years. Even during the war when they were out in the field they would curl up together in a tent or even on the ground to rest. Not waking up with Luz’s gentle breath in her ear or her arm wrapped around her; she doesn’t like it. Though she knows that after today it won’t happen again.
She slid out of bed and got dressed, passing her dress bag hanging on the wall as she walked out into the living room, checking her scroll, and seeing Luz's message. She smiled to herself and tapped out one back.
'I can't wait to see you either, querida. Xoxo'
Willow, Viney, and her sister were standing around the kitchen when she walked in.
"There's one of the brides to be!" Emira grinned.
“Hey!” Willow looked up from the stove, smiling.
“Mornin’.” Viney nodded with a smile.
“Good morning.” She smiled at them as she sat at the table.
“Are you ready for tonight?” Viney asked.
“Yes ...and no,” she sighed, running her hands through her loose auburn hair. “I’m nervous, but excited too…,” she mumbled and Viney chuckled as Willow and Emira set plates on the table and they all sat to eat.
“Nervous? You're marrying the biggest dork in the Boiling Isles,” Emira snorted. “Granted, an incredibly brave, sweet, and powerful dork, but a dork nonetheless.”
“Maybe, but I love that, sweet, brave dork.” Amity smiled to herself as the others grinned. “I want tonight to be… and I hate this word; perfect,” Amity hummed, playing with her eggs.
“I’m sure that no matter what happens it will be perfect.” Willow smiled at her.
“Even if something blows up, it’ll still be perfect for you two, cause at the end of the night, come hell or high water, you’re gonna be married,” Viney agreed.
“And let’s be real, it’s Luz, so the chances of an explosion are not as low as we might hope,” Emira laughed.
“Don’t say that…,” Amity moaned as they laughed.
“Did you ever finish writing your vows?” Willow asks as they eat.
“Ah, yes!” She jumped up and hurried into Willow’s guest room before coming back with a stack of paper. She set it and her pen on the table and the other three looked at it questioningly. Emira set her fork down and reached over to pick up the hefty stack of papers and flipped through it, eyebrows drawn between her eyes as she read some, flipping through the many pages covered in her sisters neat, sloping penmanship before she finally looked up at Amity, who was flushed. She knows what’s coming. She went overboard, she knows.
“These are your vows?” Emira blinked holding up the literal sheath of paper.
“Yes…” her cheeks darkened.
Emira, Viney, and Willow share a look.
“It’s an essay…” Viney cocks a brow.
“This is a book…,” Willow says, failing to hide her amusement.
“Mittens… you’ve written a manifesto of your love for Luz…,” she says, flipping through the pages with a laugh.
“I got going and then found I had a lot to say…,” Amity mumbled, face hot.
“Obviously,” Viney barked a laugh.
“I’m sure everything in here is super sweet and cute, sis, but we don’t have all night for you to harangue about why Luz is the most thoughtful and wonderful person who ever lived in any realm.” Emira grinned knowingly at her making Viney laugh harder and Willow coughed, unconvincingly into her hand.
“I know…,” Amity whined, resting her head in her hands. “I can’t figure out how to cut it down…,” she mumbled.
“Let’s try this…” Emira took a blank piece of paper from the bottom and ripped it in half and slid it across to Amity. “Only what you can fit on this,” she said.
“That’s not nearly enough space…” Amity frowned looking down at the half sheet of paper.
“It is, only the really important things, the things you really want to tell her tonight. It should fit on this slip of paper perfectly,” Willow agrees.
“Yeah, you have the rest of your life to wax poetic to her about why she’s the best thing since sliced bramble wheat bread.” Emira nodded. “And if you actually want to be married before tomorrow morning, you need to cut it down.” she smirked as Amity scowled at her.
“I have thirty snails that say Luz forgot to write vows,” Viney piped up over her toast.
“I’m not taking that bet,” Willow smirked, if there’s anyone who knows Luz nearly as well as Amity, it’s Willow.
“I will, my dear sister-in-law can be just as sappy as Mittens.” Emira grinned and Amity frowned at the couple as they shook hands.
Luz would never..., that's what she wants to say, but Amity knows Luz, knows she can be as unpredictable as the ocean. Whether or not she remembered to write her vows is a toss-up, yet Amity can't find it in herself to be annoyed by this, it was all part of Luz's charm. She wrote as much on page five of her own vows.
"So!" Emira starts, pushing the slip of paper and pen toward her. "What do you really, really want to tell Luz tonight when you promise to be her partner in love, insanity, and anarchy for the rest of your lives?" Her sister asks with a grin and Amity chewed her bottom lip and picks up the pen, but she doesn't hesitate, the words come easy, and before she knows it the paper is filled. She reads it over a few times before sliding it back across the table to the other three.
Emira picks it up and the other two look over her shoulders as they read. Emira bites her lip as her eyes glaze over. Viney's mouth hangs open and Willow just smiles and they all look up at her.
"Well damn…," Emira says thickly at last.
~ ~
“Faster, faster!” King squealed from Luz’s shoulders as they sped through the air on her staff.
“Whoo!” Luz whooped as she dived past Eda and Lilith on their own staves. “I know you two are faster than that or are you that old now?” she goads as she and King fly past the sisters. “So much for the ‘Mighty Clawthorne sisters’,” she laughed and King cackled.
“Oh, those are fightin’ words!” Eda shook a fist as she took off with a wicked grin, gaining on Luz. Lilith hot on her heels, scowling as they zipped between the bones of the Isles.
Luz laughed as she flew through the air, barrel rowling and flipping as Eda and Lilith chased her, their laughter echoing through the air as they chased each other through the sky.
Eda and Lilith pulled to a stop next to each other, hanging in the air and laughing as they watched Luz shoot straight up into the sky.
“There she goes.” Eda grinned, pulling out her scroll and tapping the record button, as she held it up.
“What are you doing?” Lilith cocked a brow at her sister.
“Nothing…,” Eda said far too innocently.
Luz pulled her staff straight up, rising higher and higher and higher into the sky, wind whipping at her face and hair., the Isles growing smaller and smaller as she climbed into the open blue sky.
“Ready, Buddy?” Luz grinned as the air thinned around them.
“I’m the King of Demons, I was born ready!” King screeched, hunkering his body against her back, claws dug into her shirt.
Luz allowed the magic of her staff to fade and she slowed as gravity’s grip took hold and pulled her back toward the ground. She let herself go limp, save her grip on her staff, and started to fall, she let it drag her for a second before flinging herself into a few spins and flips
King’s exhilarated scream is swallowed up by the howling winds as she righted herself and held her arms out, whizzing toward the ground nose first and closed her eyes, feeling the cold wind whip at her face and clothes.
At this moment, as she plummeted back toward the earth, she can only think about how incredibly lucky she is that she chased Owlbert through the portal door six years ago.
There were moments that weren't so magical, naturally.
Sometimes she and Amity fought, argued over stupid things and frustrated each other, or she’d have bitter disagreements with members of the covens about the politics of the Isles and how things should be under the new order, and sometimes, even though she tried to avoid it, and though not often, she would still get anti-human rhetoric from some witches and demons.
There had also been the truly dark days of course.
She’d hurt her mother, she knows and feels guilty about it, because as much as she wishes she hadn’t, and that she wanted to take that pain away, she knows that she wouldn’t change the past, and that eats at her some nights, the whispering of selfishness in the back of her mind, but she’s seen and lived through enough things to know that there's no point living a life of regret; it changes nothing.
Lilith had kidnapped her, tried to kill her, and captured Eda, making her lose her magic and she’d destroyed the portal trying to right her wrong and save her mentor.
Eda and Lilith lost their magic, which took them a long time to come to grips with. Sometimes they had been bitter and angry about it, and Luz tried her best to help them adjust in those first few years, showing them how to do things the non-magic way, or the human way as she called it, to make it seem a little less dreary; having their staffs helped.
Then the war had come and they had killed and struggled to survive for two years, feeling like the fighting would never end. Blood and fire had drowned the Isles in so much red Luz still saw it in her nightmares. At times she could still feel the dried, flaking liquid under her fingernails and smell the metallic tinge in the air mixed with smoke and ash that choked her on the days her PTSD reared its ugly head.
As dark as those days had been, they are shadows in her memories, drowned out by the bright light of the last six years spent on the Isles and they are the farthest thing from her mind today.
She met Eda and King, started learning magic, then she met two incredible, lifelong friends, she knew would always be by her side in the form of Willow and Gus, among the others she knew she could call on anytime, day or night and they would come running.
She’d fought a war and changed The Boiling Isles forever, for better or for worse.
She’d met her best friend and fallen head over heels in love with her. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for Amity, and she knows she is loved back just as fiercely, even when they argue, they always make up quickly, they learned long ago to just talk it out.
After fourteen years of feeling like she was an outsider looking in, a character in the wrong play, trying desperately to blend into the scenery; she had finally found the place where she belonged.
She feels weightless.
“Luz!” King shrieks in her ear.
She smiled, opening her eyes as the ground was rushing up to meet them.
She twirled her staff beneath her, feet planted on it and with one hand she jerked upward, pulling them out of their free fall, arcing out of the dive a scant fifteen feet from the ground and Mochuelo’s wings flap as they soar back into the sky toward Eda and Lilith with loud whoops of joy.
“I’ve never felt so alive!” King is squeaking, breathless.
“Nice, Luz,” Eda laughed, tapping a few buttons on her scroll before slipping it back into her hair.
“Quite the graceful maneuvering.” Lilith smiled and Luz only grinned, planting herself back down on the staff.
They hang around, drifting lazily through the air and enjoying the scene of the Isles sprawled out beneath them in all its glory. The bones of the Titan laying still and quiet in eternal slumber, belying the constant hustle and bustle far below. The sun has moved to the western side of the sky and Luz knows that she needs to go pick up her mother. More than half the day has slipped through their fingers, having felt more like only a couple of hours then the closer to six or seven it’s been.
“I need to get Mami,” she finally announces and they know it’s time to go home.
“Right, we gotta get ready too, especially Lily since she officiating the whole shebang.”
Lilith nods and they fly back toward the owl house.
~
Amity and the other girls spend the day primping to the extreme at Emira's insistence.
She would be fine just sitting at Willow's house and hanging out as they prepped but she gives in quickly when Emira offers to pay for all of them, her wedding gift to her sister, who can’t refuse her gift.
The Boiling Isles version of a spa is very similar to the ones in the human world according to Luz, though she admits she’d only ever seen them in shows, she’d only been fourteen when she’d come to the Isles so she’d never actually been to one, but she said the ones in the Isles were pretty similar to what she’d seen, with a few key differences. Such as massages being given by multi-tentacled demons, which was where Emira and Viney had gone, but she digressed.
“This was really nice of your sister,” Willow hummed, sinking further down into the warmth of the hot tub.
“It really was, even if it was unnecessary…,” she agreed.
“Speak for yourself.” Willow looked at her and Amity laughed.
“Has helping with the wedding been that taxing?” Amity cocked her head and grinning.
“No, not that, recently I’ve been getting a visitor to my shop…,” Willow mumbled.
Amity looked at her questioningly.
“Boscha,” Willow grumbled out a name that had caused her nothing but dread during their Hexside years.
"Boscha!?” Amity jerked up. “I haven’t thought about her in a long time… she’s been to your shop?” Willow nodded. “She hasn't been bothering you or anything has she?” Amity frowned and Willow barks a laugh.
“As if she could,” Willow smirked and it’s well deserved. Amity had watched her childhood friend take out scores of loyalists over the two years the war had raged. Last she had heard Boscha’s family had sequestered her away from all the fighting, choosing neutrality. Cowardice, Amity called it, but the result was the same, Boscha was a gnat on the wall compared to Willow.
“So what does she want?”
Willow sighed.
“She comes in twice a week, tries to make small talk with me, buys some flowers or plants and leaves,” she said. “… she apologized, for all the things she did to me when we were kids, and wants to make amends for our school years.”
Amity doesn't know what to say to that.
“She seems different… but I don’t know, after all the things she did to all of us, it’s hard to brush that aside even if she really is different. Hell, she almost destroyed you and Luz.”
“It did end up working out for the best in the end, Luz and I would never have had the courage to be public with our relationship if we hadn’t been forced into the light like that; we were too afraid.”
“You’re condoning what she did?” Willow asks incredulously.
“Absolutely not, I’m just saying that it happened and it ended up working out in our favor, nothing more.” Amity shook her head.
“I don’t know, I’ll think about it.” Willow hummed.
“How’s the water, girls?” they looked up as Emira and Viney walked over.
“Great, how was your massage?” Amity asked.
“Great, I don't know what Luz is talking about, you just can’t give a good massage if you only have two arms.” Emira shook her head as they slipped in beside the other two.
They sat chatting a while before Willow’s scroll dinged and she sat up out of the water and drew a spell circle, the device popping into existence.
“Oh, Eda sent me something…” she tapped the video and watched, the only sound coming from the scroll was the sound of static and wind but a grin was breaking out across Willow’s face.
“What, what did she send you?” Amity asked.
“I don’t know if I can show you, you’re not supposed to see Luz until tonight.” Willow hummed, her grin was teasing, and to say Amity’s interest was piqued was an understatement.
“I think that only counts for in person, I mean, her scroll background is a picture of the two of them together after all,” Emira hummed.
“Checks out,” Viney nodded in agreement.
Willow turned the scroll around to show them the video from Eda of Luz on her staff, climbing higher and higher into the sky, King on her back.
“Oh, we’ve done this before!” Viney said.
“What is she doing?” Emira asks.
“It’s called free falling, watch.”
Finally, Luz reaches the apex of her climb, and then she’s falling and Amity’s chest lurches automatically but relaxes as she watches her fiancee's bright grin as she spins and flips through the air before just letting herself bolt rapidly toward the ground, past the camera, looking serene and at peace.
‘Is she going to splatter?’ Eda’s voice comes out over the speaker and they hear Lilith grumble in reply.
‘Amity would kill us both…’
That makes them laugh.
Finally, just before she meets the ground, Luz pulls her feet atop the staff and pulls up in a graceful arch, flying back toward Eda as she and King whoop with excitement, and then the video ends.
“She is a riot…” Emira smirked.
“Luz in a nutshell,” Willow laughs and Viney nods.
Amity just smiles to herself.
Titan, does she love that crazy woman.
When they get back to Willow’s they start getting dressed
Amity tried hard to follow Luz’s advice and not be so controlling about the things that didn’t matter and let her three bridesmaids pick their own outfits for the evening, though she is secretly glad that the three seem to have at least coordinated with each other and are wearing the same burgundy colored dress, much darker than her own, but in the same family, so she’s happy. She wonders, not for the first time that day, what Luz and the boys picked out.
“Have any of you seen what Luz and the boys are wearing? I don’t want to know what, I'm just curious.” They all looked at each other and shook their heads.
“I doubt they coordinated with each other.” Willow planted a hand on her hip and sighed.
“Well, this could be interesting…” Viney grinned, combing out her hair.
“So long as my future wife is not dressed as a werewolf, it’s fine,” Amity hummed to herself as she curled her hair into loose ringlets, making the others laugh.
“I’m surprised you got Bump to let you have the reception at Hexside,” Emira says.
“Really?” Willow looks at the older woman amused. “Amity and Luz were both top of their tracks, and became the two most famous witches of the war, especially after they killed Belos, they’re legendary Hexside Alumni, it’s great press for the school, being able to say they got married there.”
“We're not getting married there, we’re just having the after-party there,” Amity reminded. “And he offered it to us when we invited him.”
“Wha- really?” Emira laughed. “I shouldn’t be surprised really, you were always a teacher’s pet,” Emira teased and Amity huffed.
“I’d also remind you that Hieronymus Bump was a member of the rebellion and Luz and I fought side by side with him on many occasions, he even saved Luz’s life once. We wanted to invite him, he was our headmaster as kids, but he’s our friend now.”
“Sometimes forgot how powerful old Bump really is,” Viney added her two cents. “Still, nice of him to let you use the school courtyard, especially since it’s so close to the grom tree.”
They chatted about their old headmaster and school as they went about getting ready.
