i collect almost all cds i know and like on CD and have recently started buying vinyl but i think im only going to get albums i really like on it since its more expensive

SO many things. i really like my nirvana and red hot chili peppers shirts because they make me feel cute! im also IN LOVE with the in utero angel sticker i bought on redbubble that has a transparent border so its JUST the angel, i stuck it on my record player and i love it so so much

i have not been to a concert yet :/ i went to a little student festival thing my university hosted for us and saw hunny + hayley kiyoko which was pretty neat

i went to a cd signing for little mix when i was like 12-13 ish but thats the closest ive gotten lol

this one depends. probably hump de bump also by rhcp cause it SLAPS and always puts me in a better mood than when i started

EYE only watched a few minutes of funky monks but im sure if i sat down to watch it now id love it. this is the worst question to ask me because i watch a ton of interviews on youtube so i cant even remember which ones were legit docus as opposed to just youtube vids so this question is gonna be basically unanswered. i do want to watch bob and the monster though

i listen to it more as an album on spotify than watch it but Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged is so good

THIS ONES SO HARD I LOVE PACKAGING DESIGNS. i love how rhcp’s im with you disc looks like because it has the track list on it but it doesnt look bad like other discs who do that do. booklet design i love vices and virtues by panic at the disco and american idiot by green day. idk what this would fall under but i also love how stadium arcadium’s booklet is held in the case and how when you take it out you see a picture of the band. and there are too many albums whose art i love so i cannot elaborate on that without making this 5xs longer lmao

About wendy, I love emily/felicity so I'm instantly interested. And I'm actually bringing criminal minds right now, which is kind of funny. Anyway, how is her relationship with he rest of the team? Did anyone took her in as kind of a mentor or something? (I'm still feeling the reid/prentiss scenes from the storyline where he is arrested, so that's where the question is coming from)

Hi there!

First off thank  you so much for showing interest in my newest baby! My current hyperfixation right now is Criminal Minds (I’ve watched 4 seasons in two weeks lol, I’m now on season 5) and I was thinking to myself how similar Felicity’s character is to Garcia to begin with, and I really wanted to explore that. Thus Wendy was born! 

So as far as Dynamics go.... This is gonna be a long one....so I’ll put the read more below, but here’s the basic breakdown.

Penelope/Wendy= close family and best friends, they keep each other sane.

Emily/ Wendy = close work friends, and two ends of the scale, they balance each other out, as well as help each other reconcile with their job.

JJ/ Wendy = valued friend and handy dandy babysitter! Also a walking talking encyclopedia of child development and entertainment. 

Derek/ Wendy = Little sister, and the cousin of his work wife (b/c let’s be real, that’s is the garcia/morgan ship, platonic as hell, but married.) Someone who takes her at face value, and makes her feel less like a point dexter. 

Rossi/ Wendy = She’s a fan and a humanizing force to him, he is humbled and learns new things from her. 

Hotch/ Wendy = Teacher, mentor, friend. She helps him with Jack, and he helps her learn how to do her job to the best of her ability. 

Gideon/ Wendy = He’s a bit of a mentor, but she also respects his relationship with Reid. She learns what she can from him, but also tries to teach him knew things as well. 

Spencer/ Wendy = This is gonna be a freaking book below the cut...but they are precious beans that challenge each other socially and intellectually all the time, go through some mutual pining and share a lot with each other. He is probably the closest person to her outside of Penelope. 

I’m going to write this as seasons 1-5 ish since I don’t know how far I plan to go with her.

PenGwen (Garcia + Wendy (full name is Gwendolyn) cousins that are more like siblings, since Garcia was eighteen when her parents passed away she decided to let her aunt and uncle raise her cousin without having to worry about her, but they still kept in touch. Wendy is a bit of an old soul at times where Penelope clings to that youthful innocence, so it’s more of a younger sister caring for the older sister kind of relationship. They are each other’s rock and when there is a hard case, they usually go have a cuddle and drink some wine. Wendy is fiercely protective of Penelope and vice versa, they both know each other’s limits as well as their own, and this helps them work together without getting at each other’s throats. 

Gemily (Wendy + Prentiss) These two girls get alone really well, they tag team teasing Derek about how much of a player he is, as well as make bets every case to see if/ how many times he’ll get picked up. If Wendy sees that Emily is getting a too emotionally invested in something, she’s the one to kind of pull her back, in a way that’s different from Rossi’s fatherly tone. She helps to rationalize the raw emotion that Emily is known for. If she sees the other woman act a certain way towards an unsub, she’ll talk to her in the hotel or on the plane, trying to make sure she’s okay.

Geej (Wendy + JJ) Her, Penelope, and JJ are the team’s gossips and tightest knit group (I stan this girl power ot3) Wendy likes to try and level out JJ’s emotions by helping her to see the lines between her job and her duty as a mother. She helps to babysit Henry so that her and Will can have nights out without worry of having to profile a stranger, as well as constantly looks up different ideas on child rearing (something she and Spencer get into DEBATES about). Though she isn’t a Godparent, she treats Henry like family

Derendy (Wendy + Derek) She makes sure to stay away from Derek. She is nice to him, and she teases him without flirting. While he is a guiding force to her, he is also more informal since she’s Baby Girl’s family. There is an understood bond between her coworker and cousin that she doesn’t intrude on, and he respects when their relationship as well. They are kinda like brother and sister, where they tease each other about their social lives and such.

Gwavid ( Wendy + Rossi)  She has read everything he’s written and knows a lot about how he helped to form the BAU, she idolizes him, but also realizes that he represents a different time. When he beats himself up about it no longer being about the victims for him, and how it became more about himself, she reminds him of all the little things he does, and how personalized he makes it each time. She constantly cites him when he’s doubting himself, saying something along the lines of a ‘smart man once taught me...’ and so on. 

Gwaaron (Wendy + Hotch) Though she has read Rossi’s work, it’s really Hotch that she looks up to. He has a unique experience of being a prosecutor before being in the BAU that fascinates her, and she learns everything she can from him. She helps him get as much time with Jack before the WitPro arch as possible, knowing the importance of working a job like theirs and still being there for your children. Some nights she’ll stay late with him to help him finish reports faster, or learn more about the job. 

Gwideon (Wendy + Gideon) She holds back from him when she first joins the BAU, instantly clocking on to his bond with Spencer. She’ll linger to learn things, and try to teach him a few things (she is a huge supporter of learning being a constant in life) that he may not have thought about with the job. She tries really hard to get him to stay at the BAU, and to help him process his doubt, but eventually she understands, and ends up getting a smaller note from him along with Spencer’s. 

Spendy/ Dureid (Wendy and Spencer) Oh dear what can I say about these two. At first Wendy is terrified that he hates her and vice versa, but they soon grow close in their joined youth and intelligence. While she doesn’t have Doctorates like he does, she does have degrees in fields that differ form his. She is to Pop Culture as he is to Statistics, so she can usually provide the social background to his facts. While they are all profilers, Wendy is someone who prides herself in observational skills, and a desire to help. So she doesn’t let his torture and drug problem slip into the background (like for real, that deserves waaaay more attention than it got), and often took him to meetings. When he gets too invested in a case, she jumps right in their with him, emphatic that he is not alone. 

I just love them so much, and I want to babble about them more, but I don’t wanna give spoilers!!

• slow burn or love at first sight

I guess to clarify, I love an instant spark of attraction and a long treacherous road to resolution- while also being painfully obvious that there is attraction and also while being overtly flirty but no one has the emotional motor skills to just be upfront about it already

•fake dating or secret dating

Oh, 1,000,000% fake dating. It is one of the single greatest regrets of my life that no one has ever asked me to be their fake date or gf. Because I would have been F A N T A S T I C at it. But I guess I’ll never get to live out that pretend to real slowburn in real life after all.... also, secret dating can feel really sucky and isolating so I don’t recommend.

•enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers

Oh god, must I really pick between my children? My whole life it was best friends to lovers. Now that I am currently dating the guy who was my best friend, I really melt over the fiery tension of enemies to lovers ... GOD! it’s so satisfying!!! But I think best friends to lovers still has to squeak by just by an ounce. (I’m a softy at heart, what can I say?)

•oh no! There’s only one bed or long distance with correspondence

Oh far and away, the one bed trope! No contest. I also deeply regret that I haven’t figured out how to make myself attractive enough for someone to try to pull this one over on me. *sigh* well, what can you do? .... also, did a long distance relationship for...6.5 years? And yeah, if you’re a romantic like me- it is dreadfully unfulfilling, let me tell you.

•Hurt/comfort or Amnesia

Mother freaking amnesia A L W A Y S !!! Heck yes! Are there amnesia fics??? 🤭I’ve never found one! But I absolutely love this trope in stories and movies. One of my all time favorites- which AGAIN- has not had the decency to actually come to fulfillment in my real life: Like why has park Jimin never showed up spontaneously at one of my doctors appointments trying to convince me that we’ve been best friends who were secretly in love with other since we were 14 and we finally just got engaged or married a month ago and his life is incomplete without me but he’ll patiently wait for me to love him in return again in my own time but in the meantime, he’ll love me in any and every little way he can until I fall for him again? Huh? Where is it! .... was that too specific😅?

•Fantasy au or modern au

no contest. Give me medieval maidens and dragons any day. I live in modern day. Lemme tell you- she ain’t that special.

•mutual pining or domestic bliss

cue Schmidt from new girl-“I can do this AWL day, son- AWLLL DAY!!” Yessssss!!! Mutual pining is my crack! Give it to me! Always! Gimme it! (Why can’t I have the things that I want!) okay this is just a Schmidt quote/rant post now. ..... I really want to love domestic bliss. And some of the writers who are excellent at it absolutely take my breath away at how beautifully they romanticize the every day. But outside of their writing, I have no scope of how to conjure that wonder up on my own. It is a skill I deeply lack. In real life, I just wind up feeling like the bliss is boring- gimme some pining! Some angst! Some tension!!! Even if I do love me some fluff. Someone once I told me that I was in love with the idea of someone being in love with me. Gotta say, he’s not wrong.

•canon compliant or fix it fic

Honestly, I can’t say I’ve read very many of either. But I do like to see how people flex their creativity.

•alternate universe or future fic

My favorite tv show of all time is Fringe (god bless you, JJ Abrams). Your girl LOVES alternate timelines, multiple universes, flashpoint, paradox, butterfly/ripple effect- all of it!! Dear god, yes! Give it to me! (Also, every time I have a crush or dream that doesn’t work out, I comfort myself with the thought that somewhere out there, there’s an alternate timeline version of me that is happily existing with said boy or flourishing in said dream endeavor. It’s a tremendous source of comfort).

Although, I must say, in the comic realm, alternate universes can sometimes frustrate me- like genuinely, could we not just make the alpha timeline the most incredible one? Instead of the best relationships and plot threads never being actual canon?! Can we get it together??? Or are alternate timelines just the comic industry’s way of writing their own fix it fics, generations after the original protagonist has been painted into a corner. Also, how hard must that be? To write endlessly for the same character for 60+ years? We write one fic or a couple books for the same character... could you IMAGINE having to supply 60 years worth of consistent weekly or monthly context!!! Wild

•one shot or multi chapter

I prefer multi chapter because I prefer getting engrossed in an entire work/world. Usually I am left wanting with a well written one shot, because they’ve made it so real that I can’t stand not having more- so my greedy butt loves the feast of multi chapter so I can have as many delicious moments and details with these characters as possible.

I do however deeply admire the skill and brevity it takes to made a succinct one shot. @underthejoon and @kpopfanfictrash are both brilliant as heck at that. And it is admirable as all get out.

•kid fic or road trip fic

honestly, considering how much I swoon over men who are good with children in real life, and how much I look forward to being both pregnant and a mom one day, I really never get into kid or pregnancy fics. I just don’t? Don’t know why. But a road trip!???? Oh heck yes!!! 👏🏽Where 👏🏽do 👏🏽I 👏🏽sign 👏🏽up!!???👏🏽

Like @curly-bangtan I legit had no clue accidental marriage was a thing? Unless you count being drunk at Vegas and waking up with a ring or we’re on some Jacob and Leah/Rachel level ish (which is really and truly the WILDEST™️ story ever ya’ll) ..... but I love a good arranged marriage scenario. The tension/push pull and inevitable relenting is so fun. But will say though, why the heck do women always fight it? Like there’s literally a whole Kim taehyung or Kim Namjoon offering to voluntarily love you and you wanna whine about it???!?! How dare you

•high school romance or Middle Aged romance

This, again, one is a pretty firm, resolute one for me. I’ll take high school. I’ve always felt a little oddly uncomfortable with more mature™️ romance stories? Not sure why. But I think the really beautiful ones always hark back to the beauty of their feelings being refreshing like the innocence of their first love. I know I personally can over glorify youth, but I love coming of age romance (high school, college, twenties) and no one can stop me!!!! I will say though, I have a secret soft spot for the niche of story where people have loved the same person since they were young and the timing just never works out but they finally find each other when they’re older. (One day is like that, and film or movie, it will absolutely rip your heart out-my god, it’s beautiful)

•Time travel or isolated together

These are both freaking AMAZING! But if anything has been established in this post, I think it’s my deep love of alternate timeline/reincarnation/time travel stories. I think they’re all from the same cloth. I adore them (I just haven’t written one because I’m not sure I could do the subtlety of it any justice.) maybe one day. My favorite writers are rumored to have the same Myers’s Briggs type as me so maybe I too could someday have a fraction of their world building skill.

I 100% love both of these so neither is a loser. But give me isolated together AND one bed in the same fic???? Speakers blown

•neighbors or roommates

I have never had the pleasure of having an attractive neighbor, though I often pined for it. (I have a bomb idea for a neighbor Hobi fic though) I did have a cute neighborhood boy who occasionally cut the grass for us in high school. But that doesn’t really count.... anyway! I LOVE the idea of being roommates with an attractive boy!!! Like holy guac, can I please????? Cocktailing this trope makes me swoon harder than none other- best friends to lovers + roommates? Yes. Enemies to lovers + roommates? Holy heck. Soulmate au + roomates???? Hold my sweet tea. MUTUAL PINING AND ROOMATES!!!! Pregnant. Fantasy/magic au+ mutual pining + best friends to lovers + soulmate au + reincarnation + roommate au!?!?!?!! frickin dead in the streets, homie.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoy roomate au. In a serious conversation, I once legitimately told my current boyfriend that the idea of marriage freaks me out- but the idea of being best friend roomates with sexual tension sounds like a dream come true. God help me.

•body swap or gender bend

Body swap has always deeply intrigued me. Especially in film. But I’ve never seen it in a fic. I’ve always wanted somebody to be able to switch into my body to feel physically, mentally and emotionally like i do. The deepest level of empathy & jean grey telepathy if you ask me, even if the trope is generally used for comedy. But the idea of switching into a dudes body and having to deal with their anatomy low key freaks me the eff out. If I got stuck in jungkooks body, I don’t think I’d pee or shower for a week 🙈 sorry everybody. I was really sheltered ok? Please don’t come for me. Lol...... also, have never seen a gender bend fic. Not sure how that would work. Not my favorite idea.

Angst is my crack.

Honestly though, if it’s well written, it doesn’t feel ‘angsty’- cuz that means whiny or clunky to me. Well written ‘angst’ just feels emotionally compelling, I think. My writing weirdly leans toward what I hope is real angst (I e solid, genuine conflict and not petulance), but when I seek out a read, I look for crack honestly.

[[ Before I start: This is based on my headcanons. It is in no way founded with any kind of canon or something (aside from the fact that this festival exists in canon and the necklaces have also been shown), and the date is also (mostly randomly) chosen by me. ]]

Today, on the 17th of April, is when the tamaranean festival named Blorthog takes place!

What is Blorthog, you ask? It is the tamaranean festival to celebrate friendships. It is important to realize the value of your friendships, so that you can treat them with as much importance as when they were new. This celebration is held to help admit the feelings of friendship that are there, to recall them and remember them again.

How is it celebrated? The most prominent feature of Blorthog are the necklaces. They are self-made, with care and without limitations about their colors. The common-used variant are simple white/grey-ish beads, but there is no explicit rule to stick to those. These necklaces are carefully placed around the friend’s necks, while exchaning well-wishes. The basic of the festival is only the gifting of necklaces and then the spending time with friends. There are more activities that can be done, but none is truly necessary. Examples of other activities are: - A very long hugging - Standing in a circle (if there are more than two people, otherwise standing in front of each other), holding hands and voicing what one is grateful for in their present friends - As it is also common in most earthen festivities, on Blorthog there is very often a cake to be shared among friends, as well - Exchanging of other, thoughtful, gifts (as in what the other long dreamed of but would never get for themselves). Gifting from a wishlist - or gifting gift coupons or the likes - is wrong though, it is way too shallow to be appropriate for a festival that celebrates strong friendships

There are more activities that can be done, some of which require the tamaranean abilities or are rather rough, but these are the most common ones.

What does this mean for your blog? Well, if we’re mutuals (if you’re reading this on my sideblogs then please remember that I follow back from @starfirechan and not from here), I understand that as permission to maybe have my tamaranean come into your inbox, wishing to celebrate it with you. If this ever bothers you but you still wish to keep following me, please tell me that you do not like this and I will make a note to keep you out of this. Please also see this as an open invitation to have your muse come to my askbox (or tag me in a post if you prefer) and show the wish to celebrate Blorthog with my tamaraneans.

I’d prefer it if there is a sort-of logical explanation for why your character knows of the tamaranean festival. - If they have any kind of relationship with Starfire (maybe except enemies), it makes sense that she could have explained the festivity and it’s date in some talk they had “off-screen” (or even in a RP). - Blackfire would never talk much about her home planet or the festivals there though, so it’s highly unlikely you would learn about it from her (your muse could have learned about it through someone else though and like ‘confront’ her with it or something!), and - Wildfire has been told of the date, but he only remembers little bits and pieces of the actual festivity; he has learned more about it from Starfire last year and so he now is at least a bit prepared to celebrate it with his friends, but he still wouldn’t talk to them about the day before it comes as he doesn’t feel like he knows enough to explain it well. - Moonshot isn’t exactly the biggest talker, so while he definitely values tamaranean festivities he probably would not have explained it to anyone unless directly asked about it in some way. As for celebrating it, he does so with the tamaranean festivities whenever he can - but there aren’t really people that he would actually call friends, here yet (unless counting Starfire of course). - Starlight doesn’t care much about tamaranean traditions or festivities, so it’s unlikely she would explain it to anyone, or celebrate it. - Galfore… I mean, he is on Tamaran, he wouldn’t leave the planet on a celebration as common and known and valued on Tamaran as Blorthog. It is possible that he told other muses about the date beforehand, but he probably wouldn’t know of the exact earthen date for it; and what he might do to actually celebrate it with people from Earth is limited to talking through the communication systems of the Titans - or of course your muse comes to Tamaran but I assume that’s unlikely.

There are of course other ways your muses could have learned about it, and I’m open to those. But if e.g. an ‘ordinary human’ with no previous contact to anything alien related whatsoever suddenly knows all of Blorthog I just don’t think I could enjoy it that much.

I wasn’t sure if I wanna do it, but I thought it’s a nice gesture to do it, so like last year, I will approach some people through their asks. I won’t do that for many since I feel like Blorthog-threads usually are rather boring and die down quickly, and (assuming the other person answers the ask) when I offer a continuation of the thread, I’ll try to mention that right away in the tags too in a way to explain that I don’t mind if we not continue it. Please be aware that I can’t reach everyone, it is easy to miss out on a blog and I also will not bother anyone that isn’t active currently. I’ll only pick a few whom I send stuff to, and it has to make sense to me how my muses find yours and meet them and the likes, but as I said above, you’re free to send me something for Blorthog as well! Don’t feel sad if you don’t get any ask from me, I most likely either have a good explanation for it, or missed you when going through my list of mutuals.

Oh, and one more thing! This celebration also means that I will try to focus on that. Not entirely, I will see to get at least some replies done too, but my focus on such a day will be on asks/replies/threads about the “holiday” that currently is. And for the next week or so, Blorthog-related threads will be handled prioritized over others. Not to mention I’ll be terribly nervous for at least half the day because of sending stuff to people.

who the heck is my muse anyway:

Ximena is a young brujeria practicing witch who was ~*mysteriously*~ spirited away from her home at age 5 with no memory of her past or self. Raised in the restricted environment of an abbey among sympathetic but uncaring sisters, she’s quite prim and proper to the public eye, but cares very little about the rules of society or her place in it.

She is also a ridiculously smart little girl. She will grow into a terrifyingly smart woman. With secrets sewn into her skin and a powerful network of magical creatures at her fingertips.

points of interest:

She’s very willing to learn and perform “dark” magicks, and can often be found reading questionable books and tomes of various subjects regarding the art. If you came at her with the offer to summon a demon together, she would be hooked almost immediately (though cautious, of course)

Near the middle of her adolescence, she begins to dabble in potioneering and finds herself very skilled at it. Through a questionable network of fellow witches, creatures, jealous ex-wives, and the like, she develops a steady stream of loyal customers and builds upon her craft.

Once reunited with her family, she is a part of a long reaching, long lasting network of witches and brujas that have lived in their forest for centuries. Perhaps millennia. The forest in which their home resides is an inter-dimentional one where time doesn’t always work properly (whatever ‘properly’ is).

Like her, her current living family is cursed with painful and involuntary immortality, alongside a few other choice effects. Ximena can die from just about anything, but she will always return after a brief visit with death: her body will take time to rebuild itself. She can stall her return to her living body if she wishes, but she can never permanently rest unless the curse is broken.

A by-product of her curse is her unending ache to know. To learn about everything she can possibly get her hands on: magic, languages, plants, mathematics, space, everything. Her hunger for knowledge cannot be satiated until she learns enough about a certain branch of magic...

Ximena literally does not care about the problem of people outside of herself and her loved ones. She’ll spare a moment of sympathy for the sake of her humanity, but she will not go out of her way to help unless she can get something out of it such as personal vindication or some rare item. Occasionally she will help others out of sheer curiosity, but it’s rare.

what they’ve been up to recently:

Making friends with demons of other cultures! From India @marakama​ to China @fwm-gsm​ to Korea @roanarch​ --She’s gatherin up them demonic business cards and seeing what she can trade for information or rare items.

Learning how to communicate with the dead successfully and without accidentally summoning a legion of the undead. Whoops! No necromancy here, she just wants to talk to her ancestors to see why the fuck she’s cursed and who she is!

Training her corvid friends to send messages and retrieve items using whistles and tongue clicks.

Forgetting her place around adults she doesn’t trust and asking suspicious questions about black magic that could set off some red flags--But her interest is purely academic! She swears! And lies.

where to find them:

Croydon - If in her early stages of life (5-13 ish), Ximena can be found wandering around the abbey where she grew up in, or around the streets of London. She has a reputation for being a wallflower and very meek and polite.

Mexico - At age 14, Ximena is unofficially adopted by local Vampire Dad, Salazar @deoscuridad​ and taken with the rest of his misfit family to Mexico, where her magic has never been stronger, and her search for her family has never been closer. Find her at the library, markets, docks, and museums taking in her culture.

Forests - The aforementioned inter-dimentional forest leads to every forest in the world (and in others). So if one is talking a walk or run among the woods, it’s entirely plausible to find Ximena (ages 14 and up) on your journey. She’ll be picking mushrooms, documenting flora, performing dangerous summoning seances, and taking naps.

Other Locations - Hogwarts is a plausible place to locate her (in the proper HP aus where she has British citizenship and is thus allowed to attend) from ages 12-16, as that is when she is withdrawn by her father. Bookshops of all sorts are another, as she quite enjoys traveling.

Ximena asking [muse] to watch over her body as she performs some dark summoning shit, allowing a demon/spirit/etc. to possess her body

[Muse] accidentally witnesses or just straight up accidentally (or purposefully!) murders Ximena in a really stupid and/or violent way, freaks out, cleans up/hides the body or runs away. They, of course, find Ximena just fine the next day/week. [Muse] can publicly freak out or demand answers, and Ximena just “yeah man, that happens sometimes, no hard feelings, jaja” and tries to brush it off.

Ximena being in a stiff upper lip environment while at a big fancy party and trying desperately to both appear normal/well adapted and also not attract any attention–but of course she’s asked to dance or give a speech.

Her fully exploring why it is that dark magic resonates so nicely with her. is it her nature? heritage? genetics? idk, but let’s test it out by trying some old school hardcore black magicks. Preferably! With a mentor muse.

Q: What is your coffee order?  

I don’t drink coffee! No offense but to me it just tastes like dirt. If I’m at a coffee shop or something chances are I’m drinking hot chocolate. 

Q: What is the coolest thing you’ve ever done?

The coolest thing I’ve ever done was probably attending MMUN. It was years ago, but the memories are still so clear in my head and I’m sure I’ll remember it till the day I die. For those of you who don’t know MMUN stands for Montessori Model United Nations and is a UN roleplay where Montessori students from all over the world come to play delegates and “solve” world problems. You get assigned a land to represent and one or two issues you and your committee has to solve. (When talking of problems you have to talk from your assigned country’s point of view even if you disagree.) The students are picked out from their schools and prepare for 6+ months.

It was honestly such an amazing time, both being there (Rome) and preparing. I attended with some of my closest friends and it was just great. It made you feel so powerful and like you could actually do something. I don’t know man, all I know is that that was one of the best experiences in my life.

Q: Who has been your biggest mentor?

I’m lucky enough to have had quite a few people wanting to help me/mentor me throughout my life. My all-time favorite one, though, no matter what has to be my karate instructor Johan. I’ve trained Shotokan karate since I was 8 and he’s always been my instructor so he's witnessed me growing up and changing (rather dramatically too lmao). Not to be dark but I’ve had some familial issues throughout my life and there have been times where I’ve felt like I didn’t have a dad, but I always had Johan no matter what. Johan and his wife (who also trains karate with us) have more or less raised me and unlike my real parents they have never given up on me. They take care of me, ask me about my day, support me, ask about my mental health, praises me and so on. The relationship between a karate instructor and his student is usually stronger than other trainer/students relationships, but they kinda took it to the next level. I really love them for everything they’ve done for me and Johan is definitely my biggest mentor. 

Q: What has been your most memorable writing project?

I mean, I haven’t been publishing for way too long so I don’t know if anything is “memorable” yet? But Professional Camping is my favorite so far (and my first published fic!)  if ya wanna check it out;)

Q: What does your writing path look like, from the earliest days until now?

Well, I’ve been writing since I was 12, but I’ve only recently begun seriously publishing. I say seriously publishing because there was a time a few years back when I published spn fics on Wattpad but... let’s not talk about that okay?

There’s not really much of a “path” to talk of, to be honest. I’ve been writing for a few years now. I wanted to publish for months before actually daring to, but then I did and now we’re here! So far I’ve gotten a bit over 200 followers which I’m eternally grateful for and a fair amount of mutuals (some so talented that I swear I almost started crying when they followed me). There’s really not much more to say than that, here’s to more years of writing!

Q: What is your favorite part about writing?

You know that saying that a writer is always writing even when they’re not writing words? Like stories are always created in the mind of a writer? Yeah, that’s my favorite part. Just watching stories unfold in my head and bring new colors into my world. It’s fascinating and it gives me some sort of weird writer kick.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?  

I get up at 6AM, leave the house at 7AM, go to school and attend whatever classes I have that day, lunch with a few friends (or maybe alone if they decide to stay at home and ditch me), more classes, go home, make dinner, train karate and then do whatever I feel like for example writing or Netflix. It might sound boring but fam I fucking love routines okay? Love em. 

Q: What does your writing process look like?

Depends. I usually get an idea and then I think about it for a week before I find the time to sit down and write it after school or on a saturday morning. Sometimes the words come easily and I get that nice flow, sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle. If it’s the latter I write it until I’m tired and then I take a break before continuing, wheras if I have a flow I write it all in one sitting. Only the first draft though, I have a rule that I never write a second draft/edit before at least a day later because I want a fresh pair or eyes.

Occasionally though I end up witing fics in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. I have a notebook by my bed filled with fics for when I can’t sleep. Sometime sthe fics are garabage, but when they’re not I’ll write over onto a google docs document.

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve gotten?  

Idk if this is meant to be writing adive or advice in general, but I’ll give you both.

Best writing advice is that the firstdraft is for you, the second is for everyone else. Don’t stress about using too many adverbs or starting sentences with but or and in your first draft. That ish is your eyes only so you don’t have to worry so much.

The other advice thing isn’t as much of advice as it is just something important that stuck with me, but I’ll say it either way. Once when I was in my early teens Johan were teaching us a new kata (a karate thig) and I was really struggling. Everyone else but me were nailing it (at least in my head) so I got kind aupset and said “I’m sorry, I suck.” To which Johan replied “Chris, the only thing you suck at is judging yourself accuretly. If there’s anyone I know who doesn’t suck it’s you. Now get up and try again because I know in my heart you can do it.”

That kinda touched me idk.

Q: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?  

If your body says you need a break you need a break. It’s so easy to let stress eat you alive and let anxiety keep you inside the house, but don’t do it. Sometimes you just need to stop and breathe for a moment and that’s okay.

Q: What advice would you give someone who wants to start writing?  

Write for yourself not for anyone else. It’s easy to get caught up in notes and followers but please for the love of God don’t. The only thing that matters is that you’re enjoying yourself and learning new things. If you’re not having a good time then something is wrong.

“Y/N, can you help me with this game, please?” Jack asked, sitting on Chris’s couch, an old Gameboy in hand. Chris didn’t want Jack too dependent on technology, but the Gameboy was a good toy for the youngster.

“What are you playing?” I asked.

“Donkey Kong.” He answered. The eight year old crawled in my lap and showed me his game. I had been with Chris for six months. Half a year full of romantic dates, exciting trips, and movie nights with Jack. I looked over my shoulder at Chris, who was cooking in the kitchen. He smiled at me. That smile made me melt.

Later that night, after Jack had gone to bed, Chris and I layed on the couch. He sat beside me, his arm draped around my body, trying to steal my attention as I typed on my computer.

“Y/N,” Chris whined, bonking his head on my shoulder. “Pay attention to meee.” He kissed my shoulder, lightly, then he kissed my neck, before he licked my cheek.

“Chris, what the heck!” I said, laughing. My typing paused.

“Hey, it worked.” He said with a grin. I shook my head before returning to my work.

“Let me answer this email and then I’m all yours.” I said, typing quickly. He groaned and wrapped his arms around my waist, laying his head on my shoulder. I finished the email and pushed my laptop to the side, wrapping my arms around Chris. He sat up, letting me rest against his chest.

“Hey,” He said, quietly. “I have a question for you.” I sat up, confused my his suddenly serious tone.

“What’s up?” I asked.

“Well, press tour for the third Guardians movie is coming up.” I nodded, following. “It’s gonna be three weeks, each week a different continent. And I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?” He looked sheepish, wondering what I would say. I grinned, hoping the question would come up.

“I was wondering when you would ask. My editor said I could go anyways to catch a couple interviews myself, but I can easily ask for a few more days off.” I said, smiling. Chris smiled back at me.

“Does he know about...us?” Chris asked. I shook my head. We were trying to keep our relationship lowkey, but we had already been snapped a couple times by paparazzi, so suspicion was in the air.

“I’m sure he has noticed, but he doesn’t really get involved in personal stuff.” Chris nodded, and I laid my head back down on his chest. Chris was quiet for a moment.

“So after the press tour, do you wanna attend the premiere with me and go public with this ish?” He asked. I sat up again, a little shocked.

“Isn’t that a little early?” I asked. Chris nodded slightly.

“Well, yeah. But, gosh I love...hanging out with you. Jack loves you, Anna has no problems, and even Darla likes you.” I couldn’t help but notice he didn’t really say how he felt.

“And what about you?” I asked.

“What about me?” He said, confused.

“Well, you said everyone else likes me. What about you?” My voice was quiet. Chris leaned forward, touching my face lightly.

“Y/N,” He paused, looking for the right words. “Well damn, I think I’m falling for you. Hard.” I looked up. He was always shocking me. I kissed him, lightly.

“The feelings are mutual.” I whispered. He kissed me, harder this time.

“The tour starts Monday.” He said between kisses, pulling me closer to him.

“I’ll start packing tonight.” I said, kissing him back.

Monday morning, we boarded a private plane filled with a handful of reporters and the cast of the movie we were following. Chris sat next to me at take off and I gripped onto him as the plane lifted into the air.

“Do you not like flying?” He asked, holding the hand that was wrapped around his muscular arm.

“Not particularly, no.” I said through gritted teeth. He chuckled lightly, trying not to bring any attention to us.

“Babe, you have a whole plane full of literal guardians of the galaxy, you’ll be fine.” He said, laughing. I punched him lightly, trying to get through the take off. He kissed my hair and stroked my hand, instantly calming me. The reporters had their separate part of the plane, but Chris had vouched for me to be with him in the larger cabin. Here, he could be a little riskier with how he held me, knowing the cast and crew in this part of the cabin respected his privacy more than the reporters.

As the plane reached cruising altitude, Chris untangled himself from me and stood up, getting us both drinks and a snack. In his absence, Zoe Saldana took his seat, stretching out her hand.

“Nice to meet you.” She said with her beautiful smile. “Chris has told us all about you.” I smiled sheepishly and shook her hand.

“It’s nice to meet you too! Hopefully you’ve heard a few good things.” I joked. She smiled.

“He really loves you.” She said, bluntly. I was taken aback. “He smiles bigger. Laughs harder. And the way he looks at you...well it’s unreal. We’re all really happy that he’s happy.” I looked down at my hands, smiling and unsure what to say. “If you need anything at all on this trip, a tampon, a best friend, whatever, hit me up.” She said, standing and winking at me.

“Thank you,” I said, “I will.” I smiled as she walked away, glad I knew someone else in this area of the plane besides Chris.

Chris soon returned with a water bottle for me and a glass of whiskey for him. He handed the bottle to me and I took a few gulps out of it, downing a nausea pill with it.

“What was that all about?” Chris asked, nodding towards Zoe.

“Oh, nothing.” I replied. “We’re just best friends now is all.” I joked.

“Now that’s a scary paring.” He laughed, looking at me. I looked up at him, loving every laugh and every moment with him. “I’m gonna keep you safe, okay?” He said, suddenly quiet.

“Where’s that coming from?” I asked, confused. He looked down at his hands, not meeting my eyes.

“This life tore Anna and I apart and I’m trying my best to keep Jack safe from that. And now you too. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if anything happened to you or between us just because I chose this profession.” I looked at him, studying the way this bothered him. His hunched shoulders and furrowed eyebrows. I leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek.

“Don’t worry about me, tiger.” I said quietly. With that, he intertwined his arm with mine and I laid my head on his shoulder, catching up on some sleep before we landed in London that night.

What doesn’t this song cover in any of my books? If I had a “muse song,” this would be it. To answer the question, though, the speaker’s in a bad situation but knows she has to get out--and that everything will change when it happens. Kind of sums up the danger and resolve Dolores faces throughout the book.

2. “Fade Away” by Susanne Sundfør This is the kind of love that never goes out of style Because baby, I know that you’ll always be waiting And I’ll always want to come back

It’s a hopeful sort of song that recognizes the relationship isn’t working right now, but that the two are ultimately made of tougher stuff. The Vitalizer sort of identifies with the feeling, since someone enters (reenters?) his life. Other particular relationships might not hit their stride, but that’s okay.

3. “Fences” by Phoenix Come roll the dice for me Roll the dice for me

Ironically this song doesn’t actually have much of a meaning (like “New Moon on Monday” by Duran Duran, you know?) but, based on the feeling of the song, I’d guess there’s something to taking chances and knowing things can be better. Help others give it a go. That’s all Dolores has wanted.

4. TRNDSTTR (Lucian Remix) by Black Coast Fire when the strobe hits you

I mean...Dolores figuratively combusts when The Vitalizer’s around. He is, to her, a cool and classic figure--the charisma, charm, and wit are all there.  She doesn’t know it, but she sticks out to him, too. Just in different ways.

5. “Jealous Buffoon” by AWOLNATION I never think I’ll ever get used to your body Used to your body Cruisin’ your body I never think I’ll ever get used to your body (I’m just a jealous buffoon)

This song is actually cute. ;_; He wrote it to his wife.  Dolores might not be married, but in a way, she’s “tied” to the guy. He has a grip on her heart he doesn’t even realize exists.

6. “On’N’On” by Justice Come, woman, in your own time Far far far from the virgin vines Rising up from the dead leaves Come back to me

Song’s about the passage of time and how we grow and can come back together. Or something.  Let’s just say Dolores is still Dolores by the end of the novel, but also that there’s time enough for her to grow and learn and become a better version of herself despite the straight-up garbage treatment she’s received.

7. “Gold Guns Girls” by Metric I remember when we were gambling to win Everybody else said, "Better luck next time" I don't wanna bend, let the bad girls bend I just wanna be your friend Why you givin' me a hard time? 

Hmmmmmmmmm! Can you guys think of a character (or two) in this book who’s entitled, stubborn, and greedy? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes what people call and think is love isn’t lovely at all.

This one’s about a relationship that failed, as well. It’s apologetic in tone, though, which directly contradicts a certain character’s relationship with others. One of them may just become mutually destructive, though, so stay tuned.

10. “Pork Soda” by Glass Animals Why don’t I say it, then? I want you all the time

I promise the name sort of makes more sense in context. Anyway, wanting something you used to have, or at least wanting something you have to be as good as it was, is no strange sensation for Dolores. As bureaucracy becomes more involved in this novel, and personal relationships between the heroes and villains become more complicated, she’s bound to experience some burnout. Not helping is Dr. Ames’s wife entering the Cooley theater.
